- 1:52tossed by every wave. God, I pray for sound doctrine,
- 1:55sound theology. God, I pray for law enforcement
- 1:58and military. God, I pray for righteous judges
- 2:01to be here in the land. I pray God for those that are in

- 2:33We'll put it in the rafters of our house, God.
- 2:35We'll talk about it at the dinner table, at the breakfast
- 2:38table, at lunch, God. We'll text it, Father.
- 2:41We'll send voicemails, Father, I pray in the mighty name of
- 2:45Jesus, Lord, that will continuously encourage each
- 2:49other and edify each other with your Scripture, with your word,
- 2:53with Jesus Christ, the only sufficient sacrifice, Lord, I
- 2:58pray against false religion, Lord, I pray against false
- 3:01teachers, in the mighty name of Jesus.
- 3:04I pray against the spirit God of the Antichrist in our lives,
- 3:09God, form a hedge of protection around our houses, around our
- 3:13families, Lord, heal our bodies, Lord.
- 3:15I pray that you'll remove cancer, that you'll remove
- 3:19cysts, Father, that you'll remove tumors, God, dissolve
- 3:22them in the mighty name of Jesus.
- 3:24Reverse diabetes, reverse heart disease, reverse Alzheimer's and
- 3:28dementia, Reverse all of the ailments, Father of your people
- 3:32who are called by your name that will inherit eternal life.
- 3:36I pray God for sound mind and a sound body.
- 3:39Lord, I pray that we'll charge the hill and take the whole word
- 3:43to the whole world. It's all about Yeshua.
- 3:45It's always been about Yeshua. Hide me, hide my words, hide my
- 3:50thoughts. I decrease as you increase the
- 3:53spirit and the bride say come, Maranatha, come.
- 3:57And it's in Jesus Christ, holy and precious, powerful name that
- 4:00I pray. Amen.
- 4:05Well, let's start in verse one. And it came to pass after these
- 4:10things that God did tempt Abraham and said unto him,
- 4:15Abraham, and he said, Behold, here I am.
- 4:19That's our response. Behold, here I am, Lord, send me
- 4:25God, touch my lips, touch my tongue with the coal from the
- 4:30altar. Cleanse us.
- 4:32We are a people of unclean lips. Cleanse us here I am send me and
- 4:38Abraham, the father of faith, look at how he exudes this faith
- 4:43and he says yes, Lord, I am listening.
- 4:46What is it that you want? And God does not tempt us to see
- 4:51what we will do. God is developing the character
- 4:54within us, this sanctification process.
- 4:58And that is what's about to happen with Abraham verse 2.
- 5:03And he said, take now your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you
- 5:08love, and get you into the land of Moriah, and offer him there
- 5:13for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains, which I will show
- 5:18you of. He's going to lead him into
- 5:19Jerusalem. This is his only begotten son.
- 5:23Look at how this is a mirror and a model of what Jesus Christ
- 5:27will do. And we know from the story how
- 5:30it ends. And we're going to see the faith
- 5:33of Abraham expand. We're going to see this
- 5:36teenager, Isaac go willfully, just like Jesus did with the
- 5:40Father. And you're going to see so many
- 5:43different types and shadows here in this chapter.
- 5:47Let's keep moving, Three. And Abraham rose up early in the
- 5:52morning and saddled his donkey and the two of his young men
- 5:55with him, and Isaac his son, And he claved the wood for the burnt
- 5:59offering, and rose up and went into the place of which God had
- 6:03told him. So here you can see this old man
- 6:05out splitting wood. He's gathering all the materials
- 6:09together and it is when when he journeys, when he goes and he
- 6:14barks on this journey, it is as if Isaac is already dead.
- 6:19It's going to be a three day journey.
- 6:21And this is synonymous with Christ as he goes into the
- 6:25sepulchre, as he goes into Joseph of Arimathea's tomb and
- 6:30he's dead for three days and he rises on the third.
- 6:33This is going to be synonymous with that.
- 6:36If you'll just lock in and look at all the parallels here, it is
- 6:40undeniable what God was after in this.
- 6:43And God never asked for child's sacrifice.
- 6:45He's not that kind of God. And here he is stretching
- 6:50Abraham's faith to see so that Abraham will see that he is
- 6:55faithful even though he's failed many times.
- 6:59All of those failures throughout all of that time has led to this
- 7:03development here that you're finding out in this 22nd chapter
- 7:08of Genesis. For on the third day Abraham
- 7:12lifted up his eyes, and he saw the place far off five.
- 7:17And Abraham said to his young men, Abide here with the donkey,
- 7:24I, and the lad will go Yonder and worship and come again to
- 7:28you. Abraham, we learn in the book of
- 7:31Hebrews, the writer of Hebrews tells us that Abraham reckoned
- 7:35within his own mind that God could raise Isaac from the dead.
- 7:40He could even put him back together from the ashes if he
- 7:44was to go through with the killing of Isaac.
- 7:47And if he was go through with the complete burning of Isaac,
- 7:51that God could raise him from the dead and he could put him
- 7:54back together from the ashes. And here you could see the faith
- 7:57of Abraham. He knows that the promises of
- 8:01God are not going to come through Ishmael.
- 8:03They were not going to come through his nephew Lot, and they
- 8:06were not going to come through another child that they must
- 8:09come through Isaac. So he's operating within the
- 8:12faith. He's remembering what God said,
- 8:15and he tells his young men here, stay here, and we will come back
- 8:19to you, the both of us. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the
- 8:24burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac's son, and took the fire
- 8:28in his hand and a knife, and they both went to them together.
- 8:33So willingly Isaac goes and look at how Isaac's carrying the
- 8:37wood. Is this not synonymous of Jesus
- 8:40Christ carrying the cross? And you can see he has the fire
- 8:45and the knife together. Friends, what an amazing thought
- 8:49this is of looking at how God is all in this and He's writing
- 8:54this masterpiece. He is painting a masterpiece,
- 8:58friends, all pointing and culminating at the cross of
- 9:02Christ at this exact geographical location on planet
- 9:06earth. You can see that God knows
- 9:09everything, the beginning from the end, and He's inviting
- 9:12Abraham and He's inviting Isaac into the greater story of Christ
- 9:18and what Christ will do at that exact place later on. 7 And
- 9:27Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father,
- 9:32here I am, my son. And he said, behold the fire and
- 9:36the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
- 9:42So here Isaac is wondering. He's starting to figure things
- 9:48out. He sees it all.
- 9:50He has seen this before play out.
- 9:53And usually there would be a lamb there, but we know that
- 9:57Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God that is slain to take away the
- 10:03sins of the world. And what is Isaac going to or
- 10:06what is Abraham going to tell Isaac here?
- 10:108 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for
- 10:15a burnt offering. So they went, both of them
- 10:17together. And is that not what God did?
- 10:20He provided us Jesus Christ, the only one found worthy to open
- 10:25the scroll. 9 And they came to the place which God had told him
- 10:31of, And Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in
- 10:34order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon
- 10:39the wood. Most scholars and theologians
- 10:43will all agree that Isaac was big enough to resist his older
- 10:53father here. And you can see that it was a
- 10:59willful binding and a willful laying down upon the altar. 10
- 11:07And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and he took the knife to
- 11:10slay his son, and he reckoned within his own self that God
- 11:14could raise him from the dead. 11 And the Angel of the Lord
- 11:24called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham.
- 11:28And he said, Here I am, So here this voice from heaven speaks
- 11:35out. It gets his attention before he
- 11:38can put the knife to his son Isaac. 12 And he said, Lay not
- 11:45your hand upon the lad, neither do you anything to him.
- 11:52For now I know that you fear God, seeing that you have not
- 11:56withheld your son, your only son, from me.
- 12:01So Abraham was willing to put it all on the line.
- 12:04He believed God at his word that everything would culminate
- 12:08through Isaac. All the descendants would be
- 12:10more numerous than the stars in the sky, more numerous than the
- 12:15sand on the seashore. And here you can see that he was
- 12:20willing to take God at His word. And if God said it, he was going
- 12:25to do it. And that was all that was there.
- 12:2913 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and beheld
- 12:32behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns.
- 12:36And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a
- 12:40burnt offering in the stead of his son.
- 12:42Look at how God provided the sacrifice.
- 12:46And He did the same thing for you, and He did the same thing
- 12:49for me. If we will lay down all of our
- 12:53own wants, desires, and passions, God will provide the
- 12:57sacrifice and give us the abundant life and give us
- 13:02eternal life and fill all the cracks and crevices in the hole
- 13:06in our heart and make us complete.
- 13:08And this is what God was after with Abraham.
- 13:12He wanted him to know that he could not worship the the
- 13:19promise that was given to him in Isaac.
- 13:23And it is a fair assessment to say that once Isaac was born,
- 13:31Abraham would have started to worship the promise and worship
- 13:39what God had given him. And here God is saying, do not
- 13:44take your eyes off of me and put them on Isaac.
- 13:47That is nowhere that Isaac has any place to be.
- 13:52And so we need to make sure that we do not try to manufacture
- 13:56God's promises. We wait on the Lord when God
- 14:00promises something to us, and especially in light of eternity,
- 14:06especially in light of our eternal destination, we do not
- 14:11need to forget about God. We do not need to take our eyes
- 14:14off of God. It is not just this once saved,
- 14:18always saved, and once you get dunked in water, you pray a
- 14:21prayer and walk an aisle, then you're good to go and you can
- 14:24live life however you want. It does not work that way.
- 14:27We must keep our eyes steadfast on the Lord so that when we get
- 14:32there, he will not say depart from me, for I never knew you.
- 14:36It is staying lockstep with our Lord.
- 14:38It's staying in tune with our Lord.
- 14:41His sheep hear his voice. And this is where Abraham is at.
- 14:45He's following lockstep with God Almighty.
- 14:48And when God says move, he moves.
- 14:50And when God says stop, he stops. 14 And Abraham called the
- 15:00name of that place Jehovah Jireh, as it is said today in
- 15:04the mount of the Lord, it shall be seen.
- 15:07So here. God is our provider.
- 15:10He provided Jesus Christ as a substitution for all of our
- 15:16sins. He traded all of our sins for
- 15:19his righteousness, and he is our provider. 15 The Angel of the
- 15:24Lord called to Abraham out of heaven the second time, and said
- 15:28by myself, have I sworn, says the Lord, Because you have done
- 15:33this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only
- 15:36son. 17 In that in blessing I will bless you, and in
- 15:40multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven and
- 15:45as the sand which is upon the seashore, and this and your seed
- 15:50shall possess the gate of his enemies.
- 15:54Look at this promise from God. He's promising that through
- 15:57Isaac, when we worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
- 16:01and through Abraham's son of promise, the son of the
- 16:06covenant, all the nations of the earth will be blessed. 18 And in
- 16:13your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.
- 16:17Because you have obeyed my voice, Are you obeying God's
- 16:21voice? I pray that you are.
- 16:25I pray that it is not just some genie in the bottle that you rub
- 16:29the right way to get whatever you want from Him.
- 16:32I pray that this life is not unto yourself of all the things
- 16:35that you want. I pray that God is God in your
- 16:39life, the great I am. I pray that He is actually able
- 16:44to come in and wreck your theology and doctrine, direct
- 16:48all of your bylaws, and that you are hyper fixated upon His face
- 16:54with His eyes like fire and hair like wool, the voice of the many
- 16:57multitudes as you sit in His presence and workout your
- 17:02salvation with fear and trembling before a mighty God.
- 17:06I pray that that is your story. I pray that He is not just your
- 17:11buddy, your pal, your friend, your guy.
- 17:13I pray that he is Lord over your life.
- 17:16I pray that you see Him rightly in all of His glory and His
- 17:22Majesty. That is where we must get to,
- 17:26friends. 19 And Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose
- 17:34up and went together to Beersheba, and Abraham dwelt at
- 17:39Beersheba. So look at how Isaac came back
- 17:42with his daddy. And we know that Jesus Christ
- 17:46rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father.
- 17:5220 And it came to pass after these things that it was told
- 17:55Abraham, saying, Behold, Milka, she has also born children unto
- 18:01your brother Nahor. 21 Huss his first born, and Buzz his
- 18:07brother, and communal the father of Abram. 22 at Chestnut and
- 18:12Huss, and Phil Dash jidlop in Bethuwel. 23 And Bethuwel had
- 18:20Rebecca these 8. Milka did bear to Nehor,
- 18:24Abraham's brother. We'll end on 24 and it's
- 18:28concubine whose name was Rima Shibor, also Tiba, Gaham, Tahash
- 18:35and Maka. So here, just as we end this
- 18:41wonderful, amazing chapter, we get to see a genealogy and we're
- 18:45going to see the future wife of his son, Isaac.
- 18:51It's Rebecca. And it's going to be an amazing
- 18:54story that we're going to get to journey through together.
- 18:59But just know that there is a rich tapestry here in this
- 19:02genealogy. And we could trace all these
- 19:04names back to whenever Abraham was called out of the land of
- 19:08the earth, the Chaldees, and he lost his brother, and then his
- 19:12dad mourned and they stayed in that place.
- 19:14And you can see how God made everything wonderful.
- 19:19And he's going to weave these two families together, his
- 19:25brothers, daughter, and then also his son.
- 19:28And they're all going to culminate in the family of God
- 19:32that we are attached to. Isn't our God so incredibly rich
- 19:38and how he does things? I hope you've been blessed by
- 19:40this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 19:43I know I sure have. I'm looking forward to
- 19:45continuing this journey with you.
- 19:47I'm glad you're here. Keep the faith.
- 19:52If you get to a place in the reading where you do not
- 19:55understand it, just keep pressing.
- 20:00I love you, God loves you. We'll see you back here
- 20:03tomorrow. God bless you.
