- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, welcome back to Speaker Analytics.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: This is your host Ecta, and this is episode number four in Dr.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Allen B and the Body Squad's masterclass.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: And I'm really, really excited because this specific episode is going to be talking a lot about microneedling, which I know a lot of us are always confused about.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: I know I am.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: I've done my homework as I know a lot of you have, and we get questions all the time about this topic.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: So that's gonna be one of the things we chat about here today, along with a lot of other things.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: But as you guys know, I'm a huge fan of Dr.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Allen B's practice and everything they're doing.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: For anyone listening that is interested, you can check them out with the links that I provide.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: But they're located in South Florida and Delray Beach, and it's just the wonderful option for anyone that's in that area and is looking for a trusted place to go for any aesthetic needs.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to one of the medical assistants that works with Dr.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Allen B, Ashley Jackson.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the show, Ashley.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I'm so honored and excited to be hosting you.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Hi, hi everyone.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Uh, thank you so much for having me.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: This is really exciting, definitely new, but super exciting.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I'm really excited and I really, really love the work you guys do.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't think of a better practice and people to explain these kind of concepts because there's really a lot of misinformation out there, right?
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: So, like a lot of our listeners are always chiming in with questions and they want more information about things.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: And so I think this is gonna be really fun.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: But actually, I want to learn a little bit about you if you don't mind.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Tell us a little bit about your background and how you started working with Dr.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Allenby.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I've always loved beauty and I think it's a really amazing thing what beauty can do for someone.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Everyone feels beautiful, but I've always been like, how can adding a little bit of blush here, adding a little bit of eyeliner here, like how does that help your confidence?
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So when I was younger, I'd always be into makeup and all that stuff.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And then I realized I don't not that makeup can't be like a lively career.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: I kind of figured out like, what else can I do?
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: So then the kind of medical side came into the atmosphere for me, and I was like, oh my gosh, like there's aesthetics, and didn't know that was a thing when growing up.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: You don't really hear that in school being told.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: So it was funny.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: I ended up moving to Florida and I found pretty much like Dr.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Allenby, and she kind of tied in everything that I like the medical side of it, but also the beauty and the confidence building.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: So I think that was like a pretty interesting thing.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: My two worlds collided.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of how I got into it.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: That's so cool.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: And yeah, absolutely love Dr.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Allenby's approach.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, she's truly brilliant with what she's doing for everyone listening.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: If you're interested in the first episode in this masterclass, it was with actually Dr.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Allenby, and she went through a lot of really cool information.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: So make sure you guys tune in for that one if you missed it.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: But I'm excited to actually chat with you, like I was saying earlier, because you know, you guys have a lot of options available for patients that come in and want work done.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: So I would love to dive into some of those and really dive into the science of it.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: So the first thing I want to actually ask you about is like, what is mirror dry?
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Like, what is that?
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Mirror dry is my baby.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: I love mirror dry.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: It was one of the first procedures I learned at the office.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: So, mirror dry is a non-invasive way to reduce your production of sweat.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: A lot of times, people, you can do Botox under the arms, you can do disport, you can do certain treatments, but it's not permanent.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: And so, what ends up happening?
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: People come to the office multiple times, and it's like, oh, like they're still dealing with this.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: And with underarm sweat comes more anxiety, which makes you sweat more, or can you can be really self-conscious about it?
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I never really had a sweating issue, but seeing the patients come in and be anywhere from 16 to 50s, and they're just like, I'm just so uncomfortable.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: I just don't like sweating, and it makes me a little insecure, like I can't be my full self.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: So mirror dry really does help to reduce the amount of sweat under the arm, and it's a permanent treatment.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: So most people right now are getting around anywhere from one to two treatments, but it's not that you'll never sweat again, it's the fact that you're now reduced.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: So a lot of our patients will say, Oh, I'm a 10 out of 10, I'm an eight out of 10.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: You would look to see that your reduction in sweat is around 84%, which is very high in the amount of sweat.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So it's a really lovely treatment, it's not invasive, which is the nice part about it.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: So you can go back to your like everyday life.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: You may be a little bit sore after the treatment, swollen, but you're not stopping work for two weeks.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: You're not stopping going to school, missing certain things.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: So it's a really great treatment.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: So, what is it that you're working with here, like in terms of a tool or what do you do to make this happen?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: So there's a stem to it.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: There's like a handpiece that's gonna attach to the underarm, and you were using thermal heat to kill the sweat glands under the arm.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: So that stops the production of sweat.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: So the sweat gland under the arms is only two percent.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And the great thing about mirror dry is that it doesn't cause compensatory sweating.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Compensatory sweating is like if you sweat under your arms and you get a treatment done, now you're gonna sweat more on your chest or your hands.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Mare dry does not cause that, so it's only stopping the sweat under the arm.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna cause you to sweat anywhere else, which is a really good benefit.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: A lot of treatments end up having almost like a rebound effect somewhere else.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: So mirror dry is really good in that sense.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Again, thermal heat that kills the sweat gland.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: So are the is it the aprocrine glands or the e crine glands that you're targeting here?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's actually doing both sweat glands.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: So epochrine and your acocrine.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: And I like what you said about how it's not going to cause you to sweat elsewhere because that's a very interesting phenomena that you mentioned that compensatory sweating happens.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: So that's very cool.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Um, so how old is this technique?
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Is it fairly new or I know Dr.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Albi always has the new cool stuff, so right.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: I believe mirror dry has been out longer than eight years because it was definitely when I started with Dr.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Allenby, we had the mirror dry treatment going.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: So it's necessarily not the newest thing, but I do believe people are starting to hear more about it with like TikTok and social media because a lot of people suffer with hyperhydrosis and they just don't know what to do with it.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: So they'll end up using like these prescription drugs, which end up causing more irritation to the skin, and it's like adding on another bad thing, if that makes sense.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: So they're like, I'm sweaty, and now I have this rash and now I have this redness.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: So mirror dry really does help to kind of take all of that and help that scare them.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: So it's a really good, it's a really, really good treatment.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: I recommend.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I had heard a while ago, I think there was a buzz around like using Botox to help stop sweating.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: And for me as a consumer, like that just never really resonated.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: I didn't feel like I wanted to go that route.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: So this is a really great option for any of you listening out there that are like, hey, I don't know if I buy into that kind of stuff.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: I want to do the Botox or if I want to try these other things that you might have heard of.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: And this is like a proven way to do this.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: So that's very, very cool.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: And I think also some people were getting more natural as a society, more health conscious, all those things.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: So this treatment's not only for people that have hyperhydrosis, like diagnosed, it can also be someone that's more holistic.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: They don't want to use certain products under their arm.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: We know that there's certain things that are said about aluminum.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: So this is a very good treatment to help with the odor and the sweat.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: They do claim that you don't need to wear deodorant after.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: So this is another alternative to someone that you don't want to be using an aluminum deodorant and things like that.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: So it's also great for the average person that doesn't have hyperhydrosis.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: That's a really excellent point, actually, that you made about the aluminum because I was just having a conversation about this, just some of my colleagues about how the beauty industry is kind of getting wild with some of the ingredients that we're putting in.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: I know aluminum's been around for a while, especially with the deodorant conversation and stuff.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And a lot of people that are, for example, breast cancer survivors or somebody, you know, you don't want to use these products because you just don't know what's gonna go into your bloodstream.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: That's one of the biggest things I think with aesthetics that draws me in as a consumer is that you know what you're doing at that point.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: You're in under the supervision of a professional.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: There is a controlled method to combat what you're trying to combat.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: So instead of just randomly buying a deer from a store and hoping to gotta work.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: No, that's a really good point.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: And also when you just said you're under a professional, I think something that's a plus with our office is that you still see a provider, even with these consultations.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: I feel like I've been doing mirror drive for a good amount of time, but still, like you never know if someone has an issue.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: You still want to be cleared by a professional, by a provider, someone that's been doing this for so many years.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Whether it's Dr.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Allen B will come in or Amanda, our nurse practitioner, you're still getting cleared by one of our providers, which is nice.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Like you kind of get that connection with the provider even before you get your treatment, so you know like you're in good hands.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: So it's a really nice thing in our office that we kind of incorporate everyone.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: We really do try to work collaboratively.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: So I love that.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: And I think this is really cool.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: It's a really neat thing to consider if you're somebody who is in the market to go and figure out your options for underarms sweat and whatnot, especially with summer again coming around the corner.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: It's a great option.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: So I wonder if we're gonna summer time.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gonna be here before we know it, honestly.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Like summer always creeps up on me, I feel like.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be here before we know it.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: But I want to move on and talk about the microneedling because I know that this is a very, like I said in the introduction, it's it's a topic that I think a lot of us just don't know a lot about.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure you've seen them as well, like the at-home devices that people love, and they're just convinced that as long as you see a roller with a bunch of needles on it, that's the way to go.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: And I'm like a huge disbeliever in that.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: Like that scares the living bejesus out of me.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: So with microneedling, I feel like this conversation is so needed in terms of understanding what are the options out there from the aesthetic standpoint.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Because a lot of times when we do go into a clinic, you don't know what to opt in for.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: So I want to get started with asking you about Morpheus, because I think this is the one that a lot of people are buzzing about.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: So could you tell us a little bit about Morpheus?
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Like, what is it and what is the science behind it and all of that?
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: So Morpheus is microneedling with radio frequency, helps to target the skin, tighten to lift the skin, kind of things that you hear all around.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: The most biggest thing is that you just want to tighten the skin, things like that.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Morpheus is really good for scarring, it claims like acne scarring as well with that Morpheus.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: But the really nice thing about it is with the radio frequency aspect.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: So a lot of times you mentioned earlier, like people will go home with those, and I've seen them like the roller balls, and they'll roll it on their face.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: I agree with you as well.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Like you're sticking needles in your face, like we have to remember that part.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: You know, you want it to be in a very clean area under the supervision of someone that knows what they're doing and that someone that is trained.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: So the fact that at home, when people are using that roller, there's nothing else they're doing to it.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: They're just opening, causing trauma to the skin.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: With Morpheus, because of the radio frequency, we're heating up the skin, causing more coagulation and trauma to help then go ahead and tighten the skin and build collagen and help to stimulate your skin to even grow back better.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: So you do radio frequency alongside, like as you're doing the microneedling, like it's going on at the same time.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's embedded in the treatment itself.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So as we're entering the skin, radio frequency is being distributed throughout the skin.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I was just gonna ask.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: So is there like a set, like in terms of like micro needling?
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: I think one of I want to ask you like a very basic question, and that is really about the needle, like the size, because that's what I get confused about a lot, is like, you know, there's obviously different size needles, right?
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: So with Morpheus, do you use like one size needle or is it can change out based on what people need?
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: So with the Morpheus, it comes with cartridges, so it's single use for each patient.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: You get your own cartridge.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: We use it one time, we toss it out.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: The needles, I believe it goes up to on the face four millimeters, I believe.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: And as we're doing the treatment, it's completely customizable.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: So we can write, for example, if you're at the cheek, you can go ahead and do a little bit deeper because you want to target deeper into the skin versus you don't want to be too surface, or if the skin is very thin, you just push it up to maybe two millimeters.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: So we're able to adjust the depth of the needle versus but the gauge of the needle, no, that's not with Morpheus, but the depth, yes.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Okay, so what about so I know that's Morpheus, and I'm glad we talked about that one because that's the one that I always just hear about, you know, it's everywhere.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: It's very popular.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: It's like the celebrities were doing Morpheus, so a lot of people know the name.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: But there's multiple different microneedling stations that you can use.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: A really nice one that we have here is Virtue.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And that one, I personally I love the virtue just because I feel like it's a little bit safer for all skin types, which makes someone that's doing the treatment on someone you even feel better, knowing, like, okay, I'm not gonna have an adverse effect, I don't want to cause any more damage to the skin.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: So, virtue is a really nice option.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: So, with the virtue, you said it's better for more skin types.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: So, what is the difference than the needle component?
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: What is the real difference between Morpheus and Virtue?
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: There's a little bit of differences with it.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: The virtue is cleared for you know doing wrinkles, which is a nice benefit.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Also, the needle is a little bit thinner.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: So, remember I was saying the gauge, we can't really change the gauge on the Morpheus.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: On the Virtue, it's a little thinner, so it's causing less trauma going into the skin.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: So, you're not gonna get a lot of post-hyperpigmentation after.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Also, with the way that it's injected into the skin, it's more of like a smoother glide.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: So, we're not causing a lot of trauma on the surface, and a lot of times people can get a little bit of trauma from that.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know why, but I really do like the virtue more with certain patients and just like the outcome.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: So, it really does help to tighten and lift, so it's really nice.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: So, what would be something that like because I know you guys have a very holistic approach, you know?
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Dr.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Allenby, she mentioned that in the first episode when we recorded.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: And my question is if somebody comes in, when would you suggest that they opt in for Morpheus versus virtue?
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Can you give us some examples of like patients that are really good candidates for virtue versus the other modalities?
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: With virtue, I definitely see people that have more thinner skin, thinner skin, maybe more redness to their skin, they're gonna tolerate the virtue much better.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: And it's much more of a comfortable treatment for them.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Just because something's a little bit more powerful doesn't mean you need to start right there.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: So someone that I believe is a little younger, their skin can handle the Morpheus, I would then refer them to doing Morpheus.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: But if it's more of a thinner skin, they're more looking to do like fine lines and wrinkles to kind of give that nice glow, the virtue.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: If it's more of like a lifting and they have more laxity, then I would recommend the Morpheus.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Okay, so if I came in and I opted in for some treatments with Morpheus, would I be able to switch over to virtue?
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: Is it an additive kind of effect that you're getting?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: If you're yeah, so you can definitely start with Morpheus.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Let's say you had more laxity and you're like, you know, I really want to get this, I want to lift this up, and I really want to target that.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: The start with Morpheus.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: And then maybe after a couple of treatments, then we would switch you over to virtue because now we're like fine-tuning.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: We want you to have more of that radiant glow, your skin is more together, more even.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Then I would switch you over to virtue.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: So it's completely you can definitely start with Morpheus or vice versa.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Morpheus is a little bit deeper.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: So if you really want to target the lifting aspect, I would start with Morpheus and then switch over to virtue.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: Once I'm like, okay, your skin is work, I like it.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Let's go to virtue.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Now let's get that skin to have that radiance.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: So, what about, for example, acne scarring?
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's a big one for me, especially because I know I have my acne scarring and it's one of my big pain points.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: I remember a long time ago I had consulted a dermatologist, like my makeup, even, you know, I couldn't put it on without feeling like self-conscious about it.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Acne scarring is always a problem, it's always like something that impacts us so much.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: And the answer that that germ had given me at that time was like, no, you need to get microneedling because that's really the only way that we can target this.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: And so, if somebody does have acne scarring, especially from things like, for example, I'm sure you know, like with cystic acne, for example, you get those more pitted scars.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: It's just a little harder to combat those with say like topical like skincare.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: What would you recommend to somebody like that?
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Would it be Morpheus or virtue?
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Again, I feel like it depends.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: I'd have to see the patient, like how their skin reacts, their complexion plays a part with it, just because you don't want to cause more traumas.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Everyone's skin kind of reacts differently.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: But to base it off your question, if they really did have that pitting, I guess I would start with the Morpheus first, actually, to kind of build up the collagen in that area, if that makes sense, to kind of really get that going.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: And then virtue is a very good candidate for acne scarring as well.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: If it's more surfaced, it's more like little tiny scars.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: I would do virtue.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: And then I would have the patient see the provider to start doing some CO2s, actually.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: And I know that we're not really talking about that, but the CO2 laser really does help with the tone and texture of the skin.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: So the texture is really gonna help as well with that.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: That's very interesting.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm like a total newbie with this.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: So Right.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Because a lot of people they know they know microneedling.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: They know like that's what you hear, that's what you see on TikTok.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: And the thing with our office is it's very big on it's like a customizable plan, like something where it's like not just because it works for Kim doesn't mean it's gonna work for Sally, you know?
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: So you would start with the Morpheus or Morpheus or Virtue, either one, whichever is better for the skin, and that's gonna help.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: And then you would go over and do maybe a couple CO2s.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: We use the cool peel here, and that really does help with the tone and texture of the skin.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: So people like to think it's like a one-stop shop.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: It's not, you have to use different modalities to get to what you want, to where you want your skin to be.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Now, what about the downtime with microneedling treatments?
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Can you kind of clear the air on that one?
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Because that's something I think a lot of us really don't understand is the downtime with that.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: So, downtime for either virtuomorpheus is honestly one to two days in the sense that you can be really reactive and kind of be a little pretty pink, pink to almost red.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Nothing actually not red, more just pink.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: And that's usually for the day of like 24 hours, you're pretty pink.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: But then by day two, the pignus kind of wears off and your skin may feel a little almost like too tight.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Like um, but that's it's not yeah, it's yes, that's a perfect word for it.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: But nothing major, that's the great part about microneedling.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: There's no major downtime.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Like you could even go out the same night if you wanted to, but it's best to stay home, enjoy a movie, and um let your skin recover from causing all that trauma.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, wear your SPF if you do go out.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: And wear your SPF because you just punctured all these like holes in your face.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: You don't want to use things that are gonna log it or anything like that.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: So it's best to follow the aftercare.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: For us, we like to use elastic nectar.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: We love to use exosomes here, and that's gonna even speed up the recovery even more.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: So I would recommend doing an exosome treatment after or with your treatment, so you don't have major downtime.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Maybe your pinkness, if it was two days, it'd be like one day.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: So it's a really great thing to add on.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's awesome.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: I like that because I think right now, especially like aftercare, post-treatment, skincare is kind of trending.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: So that's good to know that that you guys have to do.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Especially there, especially in South Florida.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: Like, we like to one, people don't like knowing what anything's like being done, like it's a very a little secretive, but also we like to go out at the end of the day.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: So we're like, oh, I don't want this to stop me from living life.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: So that's the great thing about microneedling.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna stop you.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have maybe a day of downtime, but that's it.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: Just like meard, there's no major downtime.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: So that's the great thing about all of our treatments here.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: We like to have you come in and go about your life.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: That I love that.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: And I'm glad that you said that because honestly, I think there is a little bit of a stigma around, in general, aesthetic because people don't understand that not every treatment that you get, you're gonna be out of office for seven days, right?
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Not be able to go to work and not go outside and all this stuff.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of times even our listeners get confused there, you know, it's like, oh, should I even opt in for an aesthetic treatment where I don't know if I have to be MIA for a while?
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: So that I'm glad that you addressed that because it's a common misconception, I think, in the industry.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: It definitely is.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: So I want to actually move on to peels.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: And we had actually discussed peels a little bit, I believe, in our like second episode of the masterclass, but I want to kind of really dive into what you guys offer here.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Can you explain to me what are PRX peels?
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: So PRX peels are actually not even really appeal in the sense of how we know it in history of causing like sheets of your skin to come off, things like that.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: It is more of a biostimulator.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: So it's helping to build collagen in your skin.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: So it's a really great product.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: It helps with giving a glow, giving radiance, tightening the skin.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: It's not only just for the face, it's for if you have anywhere that needs help.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Like if you have a scar, if you have hyperpigmentation, if you have a bunch of sunspots, if your skin's texture is not doing too well, or if it's a lot of discoloration.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: The PRX treatment is really good for that.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: So I leave it was developed in Italy.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: I believe the creator of it originally was for burn victims.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: So it helped heal those traumas that happened to them with the skin.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: So the fact that it's now used for aesthetics, because a lot of things first come from like medical and it helped with something, and then they realized oh, it can benefit the aesthetic world.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: So I believe that's how it came about.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Oh wow, that's interesting.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: So I'm curious in terms of downtime, what is the downtime here?
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: Because you mentioned it's not really appeal.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: So what is right?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: There's no downtime to this treatment, and I love this treatment.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: It's one of few that I actually get done to myself.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I'll ask one of the other MAs to do it.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: You have no downtime, so you can go out that same night, you can put your makeup on.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: If anything, you look super good that night because your skin is nice and glowy and radiant, and everyone's like, Oh, you look so good.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: It's a really nice treatment.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: It takes like 20 to 30 minutes to get done from like the time you walk in.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: The MA would apply some pressure to the skin while applying the treatment, and that's it, really.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: We neutralize it with water, and you look brand new.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: You look like you're like, I feel so refreshed.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: That's it's so funny.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: When people get it done, they're like, Oh, I just like how my skin looks, it looks good.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: But it's nice in the long run, it's best to do the treatments four to five treatments to start.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: You do it around seven to ten days apart, and you really start to see the cell turnover, it looks more spongy, more radiant.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Light reflects off of it better.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: So if you're someone that had really dry skin, this is a great treatment for you.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: It adds a lot of hydration.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: And if you had even like some scars on the skin or your skin's just not doing the same, it really helps to heal the skin and have more delectable skin.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: That's like the best word I can say for the PRX feel.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: It's a real I love that.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: That's what we want when we're going in to get a professional treatment done.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: You want to walk out feeling and looking better.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: I think the big thing is unfortunately, we don't know a lot.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: See, I'm asking you all these questions because I think we walk into an office and it's hard to tell like what to ask for, what to request.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: And so that's where it's good to know that this is an option for all of you out there that might be considering.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: I want to get something done.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: I want something.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Maybe there is a special event coming up or something that you want to look really nicer for.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: And you don't want to get something invasive.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: You don't want to get anything done that's going to have downtime.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: This is a great option.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Or even if you're just like new to it, like you know you want to try something, but you don't know what.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: You don't want to go all the way to Botox right away.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: This is a nice treatment to have done.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: It's simple.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: And I love the fact that it doesn't take too long either.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Something like if you're busy before work, you can come get the treatment done after work.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: It's definitely not longer than a nail appointment.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: So you could come get this treatment and be back outside, and there's no downtime.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: So that's really awesome.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: So I want to ask in conjunction with the PRX PL, could you do other treatments that same day, or is it like you get this done and that's it?
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: So that's the great thing.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: You can do multiple treatments.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: You could start with PRX and then you would do your microneedling on top.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: So you would do a PRX treatment and then you would get your microneedling done the same day.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: The same thing with CO2 lasers.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: If you want to do it, you can always get your PRX treatment before your fillers, which I love because your skin is nice and bouncy for the provider to go ahead and inject.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of people forget how important skincare is in aesthetics.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: It's weird.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: We talk about fillers, we talk about Botox, but we're not talking about upkeep, like keep all this money we're spending on fillers.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: You want to make sure the appearance of your skin is good.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Yes, you have some more volume and your shape is nice, but you want your skin to feel buttery.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: You want your skin to, when people look at you like, oh, you have really nice skin.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: So by adding the PRX treatments in to your visits, it's a really nice benefit.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: It helps the injector to inject better and you leave going, like, wow, like my overall face looks amazing, or whatever part you're treating.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Same thing with the microneedling.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: A lot of times we just think it's one thing.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: And I like to stress that it's not.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: It's multiple things can have your face looking amazing.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I completely agree with you.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: And I think that's one of the things that we often want to, for example, like if you're looking at your face in the mirror, you're trying to analyze what you think you need, but it's like you're not gonna know till you go into the office, you sit down, you have a consultation.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: That's something that I'm a huge believer in.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: And I think that's where you guys really shine for me as a practice, is because I've had experiences where people don't want to educate and they don't want to help you figure out, like, oh yeah, you can combine this with this.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: This is gonna give you this result.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: And I think that's so important in our industry because I talk to a lot of skincare brands here on the show, and I love skincare, I absolutely love it.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: And I agree with you so much what you said, which is people underestimate the value of skincare in aesthetics.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: And I agree, but at the same time, if you're gonna get aesthetic work done, you want to go somewhere that they're gonna teach you what the protocols are, obviously, but also what is good for you?
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: What are the combinations that you need and what is gonna really benefit you so that your skincare is actually working the way you want it to work as well.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: So yeah, the point you just made where I just thought of it just now, it's like for some people, like what's their plan?
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: You know, like some people like I know some patients are like, oh, I don't like a long nighttime regimen.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: So if you don't like a long nighttime regimen, maybe we need to add in something else.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: And that's where PRX comes into play because it's kind of like your skincare throughout the day, if that makes sense.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: You're doing this treatment and it's helping to last that week up until the next time I see you, versus what you could be getting done with like a skincare product.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: If you're not consistent with it, then it's not gonna really help.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: And then they like to say, Oh, my skincare doesn't work, but you're not consistent.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: So then by adding the PRX in, that's someone doing that treatment for you.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: It's helping keeping your skin well.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: I stress that so much, is because I will see patients that spend all this on the filler, but then they don't want a good moisturizer, they don't want something that helps their skin when they're not in the chair for Dr.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Allenby or Amanda.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: So that's what I'm saying.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Like if the plan doesn't work for you for a nighttime regimen, okay, let's add PRX.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Or if that doesn't work for you, let's add this treatment in, or maybe we just add in some TNS.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's just certain things that we really like to make a plan for the patient.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: I really love that.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: And I think that for a lot of us, that's very, very important.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: And I really urge everybody listening out there, if you are looking, you are in the market to get some work done and you want a trusted place to go.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: If you're in South Florida, this is the practice to go to.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Like, and you're they know what they're doing, obviously, but also Dr.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Allen B's approach is just phenomenal.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: I love the way you guys, like I said, like it's a holistic approach.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: And I think the more and more we start seeing this across the board, the better off we're gonna be in this industry.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Because unfortunately, I'm sure you've seen it as well.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Ashley, there's so many people out here that are just younger these days, right?
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: And they're like opting in for whatever treatment at whatever spa, whatever clinic, but it's like they don't know, and not every practice is made equal.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: So it's very important to go to the right people and to really have that guidance, is what I'm trying to say.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: So yes, that's actually that's really true.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: Well, I want to thank you so much.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: This was very informative, and I hope everyone listening out there, I hope you guys learned a little bit here because I know I did, and I'm very skeptical with aesthetic treatment, so it really helps me to have that education component.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: So thank you so much, Ashley.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: This was really wonderful.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: And again, if you're in South Florida, if you're in Delray Beach, check out L and B whole practice and reach out to them, see what specials they have going on.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: You guys always have some great specials going on.

- 27:56SPEAKER_00: So those are some of our specials that we have coming up.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: That's really exciting.
