Speaker A: Foreign. Welcome to Crisis Point. I'm Eric Sammons. Today I want to talk about women, but in particular I want to talk about horrible women and the rise of horrible women. A couple months ago at Crisis, we ran an article about the Taming of the Shrew. It was by Emily Landro, who is not a horrible woman. And it was called We Are All Shoes Shrews to be Tamed. That ran back in June. And she was talking about, what I liked about was she was talking about how in Shakespeare's play the Taming the Shrew, the Shrew in the story, she has disordered passions. It's very self centered, it very much is against others, things like that. And she needs to be tamed. And she made the point that, yes, we all are shrews in one sense. We all have these disorder passions that need to be tamed. And so it's a good lesson from this, from the play, from Shakespeare's play the Taming the True. And so, but it was specifically, of course, the play itself is about a woman who needs to be tamed. And of course, in today's world, the Taming of the True is actually politically incorrect. It's not considered woke. I mean, some places I think won't even run the play because it looks like it's anti woman, which of course it's not. And but it also tells us there's always been horrible women. I mean, there's always been women who are not good people, just like there's always been horrible men. But our culture, it seems like, particularly lately, but going on for, excuse me, for a couple decades, it seems like our culture is celebrating horrible women and encouraging women to be horrible. Instead of wanting to tame their disordered passions, it wants to instead celebrate those, to exalt those and to get as many women as possible to practice those horrible traits. So what's going on here? I think the first of all, the most obvious case recently is of course the Lindsay Clancy drama. I think you'd have to be living under a rock not to know what I'm talking about. But that's the woman who killed her three children. I believe the oldest of the three was five, her three young children. She killed them, planted out everything and killed them. And she was just on trial for this murder and she, by the way, she admitted to killing them. That's not in dispute. Nobody's disputing whether or not she actually killed her children. What her defense was is that she was not guilty by reason of insanity, which I could go on a long thing about how stupid that is, but I won't. And the jury took a very long time to come to a decision. In the end it didn't. But everybody's like, what's going on? Some people thought maybe there's a couple women on the, there was nine women and three men, I believe on the, on the jury. And some people were speculating, oh, there's probably a woman or two who's like sympathetic to Lindsay Clancy. I keep want to say Lindsey Graham, think about the passed away senator from South Carolina. People wanted to say, oh, she, you know, there's a, there's a juror to one probably a woman who is like, refuses to consider her guilty because it's a fellow woman or something like that. In the end we found out, no, it's the opposite. There was literally one guy, one guy who, which I think we just found out today was a black guy. So the liberals are crazy. You're going to go crazy now. Do you go, is it racism to criticize him now? But one guy who refused to call her not guilty and then all nine women and two of the men, weak men, said, oh no, she's, she's not guilty. One of the loan jurors, now some of the jurors have actually given interviews since then. One of the jurors said about the lone juror, about the one guy who refused to say, no, she's not guilty, that she actually did kill her children. I'm not going to find her not guilty. She said about him, he had the hardest time getting over the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children. How about that? How about that this guy couldn't get over the fact that a mother brutally killed her three children. I mean, picture being one of those three kids when this is happening, how confused and how frightened you are about what's going on. And so this one heroic juror said, no, I'm not going to find her not guilty. But what, what this is. And some people are like, what, how could happen, how could it happen that you just be like, oh yeah, we'll let her off. Even though what she did was horrible, some of it is definitely believing too much in the whole guilty by not guilty by reason of insanity, excusing things because somebody has a moment of insanity when really if you know the story at least even a little bit, you know, it wasn't just a moment. This was premeditated and planned. But I think a bigger problem with this is what I call like the women are always innocent fallacy. And this has been growing this fallacy has been growing. It's like. And it's an offshoot of feminism, of course. It's, it's a fruit of feminism, I should say. It's the idea that a woman can do something horrible, but if she has a reason, a quote unquote reason, then it's okay, then. Then it's justified. This same logic does not apply to men, of course. It's not that men can get away with this. If they do something horrible, they are are punished, and they should be if they do something horrible. But in this mindset, it's like if a woman does something horrible, it can be excused if she has just any reason or almost no reason. And you see this particularly. I've seen this particularly in Hollywood movies, in Hollywood shows and movies. I mean, a good example are some of the Marvel movies lately. Now Marvel. I grew up collecting Marvel comic books. Big Marvel comic books fan as a kid. I watched all the MCU movies in the early days. You know, Iron Man, Captain America, the Avengers movies, things like that. But if you aren't following this, in the past few years they've become almost unwatchable. They're mostly woke garbage. But I just saw the recent Spider man movie, Brand New Day that just came out just about a month or two ago. And by the way, I'm going to spoilers if you want to watch. If you don't want any spoilers before you watch the Spider man movie you haven't watched yet, you probably should skip for the next few minutes. But in the movie, the, the main, who we think is the main villain at the beginning, the first half of the movie is a young woman who has the ability to control other people's minds and get them to do whatever she wants. And so she does this and causes a lot of chaos, a lot of problems. And Spider Man's trying to stop her. And she in fact at one point even has a man whose mind she's controlling, step in front of traffic and, and get hit by a car. We don't know for sure if he dies because nothing ever said, but I mean, it's very plausible that he died. And she does other horrible things, causes tons of property damage, basically, like I said, takes over the minds of innocent people and gets them to do bad things. And so then Spider man catches her and also she does something horrible to Spider man himself, like emotionally manipulates him in the worst possible way and he's totally upset and hates her for it, as he should. But then like we find out that the whole reason she's Doing all this is because her sister was kidnapped by a sinister government organization and she's trying to rescue her. You find that out about the middle of the movie. All of a sudden, literally, the script is just flipped. The script is just flipped. All of a sudden, Spider man immediately is like, okay, I gotta. I gotta go rescue her. Because she's now being Cat. She was captured by. She was by. With his help, she's captured by this evil government organization and she is being tortured and everything, which is awful. But the point is, is that, like, Spider man immediately is like, okay, everything she did before was fine. No, she was horrible. She did horrible things and she did horrible things to him. First of all, just as a movie premise, it's bad because why would Spider man all of a sudden who. She did horrible things to her. Him. And he, by the way, is very much virtuous and doesn't allow. Like, for example, he doesn't want the Punisher to kill anybody. Even if the bad guy doing something bad to stop them. He's like, no, you have to stop them in moral ways. And so he's like this with the Punisher, but then with this girl, this young woman who's doing these terrible things, it's like he just acts like they never happen. In the end of the movie, she basically gets off scot free. No consequences to her actions. And it's all supposed to be, yeah, you're fine with that. By the way. I did. By just one. I did actually like the movie in a lot of ways. That was a cafeteria flaw. But a lot of parts of the movie I really liked. I think it was, you know, great in a lot of ways, but that was just. That part was terrible. And another mo. Another Show, Marvel show, WandaVision, came out a few years ago. The main character, Wanda, does the same type of stuff. She takes control of an entire. The minds of an entire city, an entire town, and basically manipulates all of them to do things that she wants them to do. And in the end, though, in the final episode, she's basically called, like, she's the victim. Almost like a hero. Why? Reasons. I mean, it's not really even made clear why it's okay that she did what she did, the horrible thing she did. But this is the women are always innocent fallacy. This idea that if a woman basically has an excuse for something, no matter how flimsy excuse may be, it doesn't matter what horrible things she did. And this is all part of, like, the Hollywood. This has been particularly true since the MeToo era. The Donald Trump era, the whatever you want to call it, the last 10 years or so, but it was true before that. And this, this idea of every woman in Hollywood, if you want to present them as a strong woman and you always do, there's no such thing as a weak woman in Hollywood movies or shows. Then you make them a girl boss, you make them obnoxious, you make them always smarter than the men, stronger than the men, able to do things men can't do. Never any flaws. I mean there's so many movies now where the woman basically, you know how there's the hero's journey where they have to overcome some legitimate struggles, often that are self inflicted in order to, to find victory, to overcome the bad guys, whatever. Well, in these movies the only thing the woman has to overcome is the fact that not everybody recognizes how awesome she is. She knows she's awesome, her friend group might tell her how awesome she is and the movie makes sure it tells you over and over again explicitly she's awesome. It's just the problem is all those mean people out there, especially the men, they don't know how awesome she is. So we need them to realize how awesome she is. That's like the, the plot now. But all these women are girl bosses, you know. Here my wife and I, what we do sometimes we like to, if we want to watch a TV show, we're like hey, we're gonna, let's watch some show or something like that. I will kind of vet them if we decide to before we start a series. So I will do is I'll go on. We kind of, we don't like do most streaming services very once I will go on one, get a month or two or something like that. And what I'll do is I'll vet it. I'll start a, I'll start watching the first episode of series, I'll look into it, I'll read it, make sure it's not got any immoral stuff in obvious stuff like that. And then I'll say whether or not then we'll just come back. Now let's not bother with this one. I tell you what, one of the things that I almost always find now is within the first 20 minutes of a new show I start watching, it's got a girl boss who's annoying. And I know my wife has no desire to see that either. And so I'm just like, ah, forget it, I'm not going to watch this. Usually the girl boss is the main character. And these are any shows within the last 10 years. So what we do often is we don't. I don't think we've watched an actual TV show that was produced in the last 10 years, like all the way through. But it just is. It's because they can't show because they have a certain view of women and they. And the women are better than men in everything. In everything. So you have to show. I mean, like the, The. The. The woman who can fight a bigger man and knock him down, like punch him in the face, and he gets knocked out, even though she weighs like maybe a buck 20 and he's like 250 and, and solid as a rock. But if she punches him, he'll somehow double over or fall down or get unconscious. It's such a joke. It would just never happen. But you see this all the time. I mean, I'm talking about women without superpowers, just regular women. And the truth is, though, this hasn't always been the case. I wrote an article a few years, probably about 10 years ago now, for the Federalists. Maybe it was when Carrie Fisher died. It was about Princess Leia. About Princess Leia was actually a good. In the original movie. The original movies, even all three of them, but especially in the original one, she was a good example of a true strong woman. She was a leader because she was this. The daughter. The thought to be daughter of like the. A leader, you know, a princess, an actual princess. But she had been captured and she needed the men to rescue her and she needed the men to fight their way out of it. If she had to. She could pick up a gun and she could hold her own. But there was never the suggestion that Princess Leia could out fight a stormtrooper or out fight, you know, Darth Vader or something like that. There was never that suggestion. No. She was a woman, and so she had certain strengths.
14:01
Speaker B: She.
14:01
Speaker A: And she was the core of that group. She was the heart of the Rebel Alliance. They needed her. And in fact, you know, Han Solo and Chewbacca and Luke Skywalker, they all needed her as well. I mean, that's how they made things happen, was because she was the heart of that team. So we have a very strong woman, but we're not being unrealistic and making her into some girl boss who can, like, punch a stormtrooper and knock them down or whatever. And she also can get captured and be. And need to be rescued by the men. So I think this is. It's not true that it's always been like this, but it's definitely true now. But this is like the model of all women are girl bosses and they just do whatever they want. I mean, Lindsay Clancy, she's a girl boss, right? She had her truth and she did what she wanted to do. But here's the reality. Girl bosses are miserable. They're miserable to everybody around them and they're miserable for them, to themselves. They are not happy. They are not happy people. I just saw a. This went viral on, on AX the other day, a Tick Tock video of a woman. I'm going to play it for you because you're not going to believe me. How bad, how awful she is, this lady. I don't know who she is. Some random lady making a tick Tock video. And this is not. I've been told I'm not on Tick Tock, but I've been told this is actually not super uncommon, these type of videos. And so she's complaining because her husband doesn't like her short haircut. Let me just go ahead and play it. You. If you're. If you're just listening, you don't have to watch it because you'll know from just listening to it how terrible she is. So here. Here we go.
15:38
Speaker B: Me, I don't like to be told what to do. Never have, never will. Sorry, don't care who you are. Don't tell me what to do. So if you want me to do something, you're gonna have to say the opposite and trick me into doing that. Whatever it is you want me to do. But anyway, my husband didn't like my haircut the other day. He didn't say he didn't like it, but in a roundabout way he did. He said, I got my hair cut, colored. Okay. I come home. He says, what do you mean? What's mean? He said, much shorter, huh? Sure did. Obviously. Yeah, I did. Does that mean you don't like it or. He said, no, no, it's fine. It's fine. Shorter. If you say shorter one more time, I will buzz my head all off. Clean off. Bye. I would not say shorter again. So, sir, I didn't cut it for you. And I'm also not going to grow it out for you. I don't do it for you. I do it for me. So I don't know, is anybody else like this or is it just me?
16:37
Speaker A: I don't know.
16:43
Speaker B: This is what I'm about to do.
16:47
Speaker A: Okay. I mean, the first reaction I had honestly to this was, I thank God. I thank God that I don't know any women like this. That the women that I know obviously my wife, my daughters and my wife's friends and people that are parish, you know, none of them are like my sister, whoever, none of them are like this. But I've been told this is not uncommon. And frankly you see this type of behavior in Hollywood and TV shows, so. And I'm always like, how can anybody even watch this, a show like this? But they do, they're successful on some level with women particularly. So it is a way people act. But it's so miserable. I mean it's so self centered, so narcissist. So I mean the girl boss behavior of like I'm in charge, I just do what I want to do, don't tell me what to do. And like the mannerisms, the kind of a cross between kind of a gay man and a black woman, you know, stereotype mannerisms is just, I mean, so annoying and so awful. I mean it's sad. I feel sorry for the husband, I don't know anything about him. And maybe she's always been like this and so he chose his own fate or maybe she turned into this later and now he's not, doesn't know what the heck to do. I mean everything about that is horrible. And there was future people found other videos of her that she started realizing everybody was hey, a lot of people were hating on her and so she was like defending herself and stuff. And yeah, some people see how awful it is and people were hating on her. But the truth is it's actually popular among a certain segment of particularly the female population and the weak man population and off. Obviously all of this comes from feminism. I mean that's the underlying problem is obviously feminism. I mean feminism started off years and years a century or more ago. And I think there's, you know, there's an evil from the beginning with it. But I'm sure there were some good natured women who were like, yeah, we'd like to have some of the same rights that men have. We, we think it'd be just. And we can debate whether or not they should have gotten those rights or not. I don't know. But the point is it's like, I mean some of them yes, but some of them maybe not. But the point is it was pretty small potatoes what they were asking for at first. But then of course it became this idea that men and women are equal in everything and they're not. Men and women are created differently. We're not equal, we're not the same. Thank God, Thank God we're not the same. But then and that was like that for a long time. But in recent years, it has been like that. It's like, no, women are better than men. Women are better than men in everything. And men just need to accept that and realize that girl bosses are the wave of the future. And we just need to do what they say. And it's caused horrific problems. I mean, the natural order of things, the natural order of things, the way God has created it, is that men are the leaders. And immediately somebody might say, well, I know so and so, she's a great leader. And I know this guy, and he's terrible. I don't think you understand how this works. We're not saying every single man is a great leader, and not a single woman could be a good leader. I mean, I gave my Hollywood example of Princess Leia. She's a great leader. And in real life, there's been women. I mean, Jonah Arc led for a while, and she was a great leader. Somebody like Teresa of Avila. She's a great. I mean, my goodness, she's a great leader. She's a leader of her convent of women, of. I mean, she's a spiritual leader for all of us. And so, yeah, women can be leaders, but just in the natural order of things, like in the political realm, in the household, in the church, men are created to be the leaders, and men who abdicate from that or abdicating from the. The job God gave them to do. And women on the flip side, women who try to overtake and overturn male leadership are as much a part of the problem, what they're doing is wrong. Now, I've had podcasts before. I've talked about, like, the roles of women, men, and marriage, things like that. I'm not going to get into all that now. I don't have a stereotypical, like, very fundamental in the sense of, okay, in every single marriage, the relationship between the woman must be exactly like this. No, I don't think that's the case. I know very successful marriages where the man is a more passive personality, a more quiet person, and the woman is a more outgoing, maybe even dominant personality. And what the man does is good, solid marriage where the man, basically, he delegates a lot of the decision making to the wife, but then he also reserves certain things for him to have final say over. That's fine if that's what you. If that's how you want to do it. I've also seen marriages that were very successful where the man basically kind of decided everything and the wife just went along because that was her Personality, that worked out fine. So I'm not saying it looks the same in every situation. But I am saying though, that the man ultimately is the leader in the household. Men are the leaders in the parish, in the diocese, in the church. And men should be leaders in politics. Men should be leaders in politics. I saw somebody say, after Lindsey Graham, I want to say it again, Lindsey Graham, after Lindsey Clancy decision, after what we found out about that, that it will put back the possibility of a woman president by a long, you know, way back. It will make it much more unlikely that we'll have a woman president. I'm like, thank God. Thank God. And I'm not saying there aren't women who would be better presidents than some men. Obviously that's true. But in general, it's just not the role of women to be in leadership like that. And so I really think though, feminism is the reason for this. And I think also another thing I want to note is I do think it's getting worse because polls have shown, surveys have shown that young women are becoming more liberal and young men are becoming more conservative. I just saw where Gallup found the gap in liberal identification is widest among 18 to 29 year olds at 40% of women versus 25% of men. Compared to smaller gaps in older age groups, it's roughly double the gap seen among people 50 plus. So people my gen, my age and older, in the 50s and older, the gap between men and women isn't that big, between the percentage that are liberal, percentage conservative, things like that. But in the 18 to 29 year olds. So basically people, young adults, 40% of women identify as liberal and only 25 identify as men. That's great for the men that, that they're more identifying as conservative, but it's a real problem. First of all, it's a real problem just because you have that many women deciding to be associated with one of the stupidest ideologies on earth. You know, liberalism, progressivism, and you know, a lot of it is all emotion based. This is one of the problems is men make their decisions differently than women do on in general. And women do often make their decisions more based upon emotions and men make them more based upon logic and actually kind of analyzing the situation. The reality is both are needed. That's why a marriage works out great if they're working together. Because in some cases, like for example, just a case of disciplining a child, the father might be very quick to say, okay, he did this, his punishment must be this. But the mother might be like well, hold on a second. You know, emotionally driven. She might be like, let's give him mercy here because of these factors. And the man. I should be like, no, I think that's good, because I think the man should take in consideration. Okay, maybe we should show mercy here. We don't have to do like this strict situation in every single case. Now, obviously that can go overboard if the kid gets excused for doing every. All the bad things he does because the mom doesn't want to punish him. The dad's dropping the ball if he goes along with that. So there is a. There is again, it's the way God made us. There should be a balance here. But what we're seeing is many women are letting these baser emotions get to them and making decisions. Like the Lindsay Clancy case, where if you listen to the jurors who want to acquit her, wanted to find her not guilty, you will hear everything's emotion based. It's all emotionally based. It has nothing based upon facts or reality or anything like that. It's all a matter of how they felt, they thought the defense attorney was entertaining, things like that. I mean, literally, that's the kind of stuff they're saying. And so the fact that all these young women are kind of embracing liberalism, I guess, isn't that surprising. And the fact that men are not, I guess, isn't that surprising. But it's a real problem also, because obviously young adulthood is when you get married, when you should be getting married, you should be dating and, you know, finding a spouse, a mate for life and all that. But if you have this difference between, I mean, if you're a young man and you meet a woman who's anything like that, tick tock, lady. I, I played earlier, you gotta run as far as you can. And if most of the women that you're around are like that, that's a problem. That, that's a real problem because you're not gonna, you do not want to marry any of them. You do not want to get together with any of them. And, and the, the reality is the, the, the, the fact is, over the past few decades, our progressive progressivism in our culture, it has torn down men and relentlessly, relentlessly. And I'm not even claiming that in, historically, in the past, it didn't do the opposite. Some. I'm just telling you what's been happening over the past few decades. Men can do no right, women can do no wrong. Well, of course, if that's the case, young men growing into that, because it's gotten worse in recent years, are going to be more conservative, going to reject that, that progressivism. Whereas the women, I mean they have a reason to accept that if it, if it validates what they think, if it, if it validates their, their feelings about this or validates how great they are and things like that, they're gonna, they're more likely to accept it. But it's a real problem and it's a real problem, particularly for trying to find somebody to marry again. We're, it's the reigning of the shrew, as I called this podcast. It's like making the shrew the good, the good guy in, in the good gal, I guess, somebody we should emulate before she gets tamed and she shouldn't get tamed. That's awful. When really she should be tamed just like we all should be tamed on some level. So what are we supposed to do here? I mean, as Catholics, what do we do here? I mean, I can complain about this all day and everybody can complain about this. I see a lot of people complain about this among Catholics at least. Well, the first thing I would do is don't get black pilled. I'm talking to young people in particular. Don't get black pilled. Like I said earlier, I knew lots of great women. I feel a little bit, by the way, I feel a little bit like the Mitt Romney. I have binders full of women back at the office. I can't remember the exact quote which you know, was so cringe worthy. But the reality is like in my life, the people I'm around, the women, none of them are like that crazy tick tock lady. No, no, they all would hate her with a passion. They're all pleasant, you know, I mean, you know, everybody's got their, their problems, men and women alike. But the point is like all my wife's friends, they're, they're, they're good, they're great. And so it's like there are, and like all the young people I see at our parish, for example, the men and the women, they're all great. I mean, I'm not, I might be. I mean I don't interact with them enough to know everything about their personalities, but they're all pleasant young people. And so it's not true that like all the women, young women out there are shrews who are girl bosses and things like that. They all don't. So don't black pill, don't black pill and think they don't exist. It might be harder to find them now than you might have in the past. But I would say, I mean, I did a podcast with my son. Was that the last podcast I did with him last Christmas. I can't remember about finding a wife. And he gave some good advice. But I think the key is get in situations where the women you, you're around aren't girl bosses. If you're in some high powered, like, law firm working there, yeah, the women there probably are mostly girl bosses because they're all these like, you know, lawyers who, who want to, like, you know, succeed in life and things like that. And they don't care about family or things like that. But if you are attending a TLM parish, for example, or you're in a young Catholic group, you're going to an authentically Catholic college like Francisco University, Steubenville or Ave Maria or Christendom or Benedictine or Belmont Abbey or something like most of the young women there are not going to be like this either. You're going to find great young women who want to be good Catholics, want to be good wives and good mothers, and so don't black pill they are out there. But you do need to make an effort to find them. They don't just fall out of trees. And I do think you need to be aware of red flags. Not to the point where, like, on a first date you're immediately like, oh, my gosh, this woman said one thing that doesn't align with my ideology, therefore she's a loser. Whatever. Don't be like that either. I mean, I have seen, I have heard stories of like, guys who won't go for a second date basically because they had ideals that were way too high, way too high. And I guess girls probably do that too. And so, like, the point though here is there are good women out there. You can find women that you can marry. They're not all like this. But it is harder now. And I do think what we need to do is we need to push back. One of the things that feminism was so successful at, so successful at, was shutting up men. Shutting up men. You were not allowed to say a lot of things I'm saying today in this podcast. You're just not allowed to say them in polite culture. You're not allowed to express, no, I don't think, for example, I don't think a woman should be president. You can't say that and maybe even say, maybe women shouldn't be allowed to vote. Personally, I don't think anybody should be voting. That's my own opinion, because I don't think we should. I think democracy is stupid and results in exactly what we have here in America now. But ultimately though, it caused men to be quiet and so don't be quiet men and don't. But more I would say even more women, good women, they tend to not be on social media, which is a very good thing, but do speak out for against the bad women when you can. Doesn't have to be on social media but just when you have opportunity women as well, the good women speak out. But men don't be afraid to just say no. That that type of behavior is awful. That type behavior is not acceptable for a woman to have. And obviously if a woman kills her kids, make sure you stand up and say no. Be like the loan juror. I mean basically that's what we want to be like. Be like that lone juror. Okay, I just wanted to get my thoughts on this topic. You know, seeing the Lindsay Clancy case and this tick tock lady and then watching the Spider man movie, I just was like, it just is an epidemic of horrible women. Again, I don't even think the majority of women in this country are horrible. I think it's a minority. But they're very loud, they're in your face and they kind of dominate the conversation. And I think, I think there is a decent percentage of women who kind of go along with it and think it's okay. And then there's the smaller percentage of women who are great and realize that's awful. So be one of those women if you're a woman. If you're a man, look for those type of women, encourage those type of women and feel free to speak out against the horrible women. And so in other words, be involved in the taming of the shrews, not the reigning of them. Okay, bye until next time. God love you. And remember the poor.
