Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Well hi guys it is thursday only means one thing
- 0:03Speaker 1: fpl pod is back and actually for the first time
- 0:06Speaker 1: this season i don't feel as panicked about my team
- 0:09Speaker 1: because it's a saturday deadline 1 30 p.m ahead of
- 0:13Speaker 1: the 5 3 p.m kickoffs doesn't mean you can't sort
- 0:15Speaker 1: your team before but a little bit longer for all
- 0:18Speaker 1: of us um loads of football going on this week
- 0:20Speaker 1: we've had champions league we've had efl cup as well
- 0:23Speaker 1: as well of course as the last weekend's premier league
- 0:25Speaker 1: actions loads for myself Sam and Jules to talk about.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Let's firstly talk about the last game week. Was it
- 0:31Speaker 1: a good one for you, Sam? Yeah, it was fine.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It was another green arrow.
- 0:40Speaker 2: That was a pause and a half.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that was.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Because, so, all right, so it feels really ridiculous to
- 0:46Speaker 3: moan when your captain has returned, but I just, a
- 0:50Speaker 3: triple captaincy on a player that gets one goal, and okay, yes,
- 0:52Speaker 3: there was bonus points and that helps, but I don't know.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I can't help but feel a little bit frustrated by it,
- 0:58Speaker 3: to be honest. It was one of those where I
- 1:00Speaker 3: was like, I was expecting a good week on that basis.
- 1:02Speaker 3: And then it was fine. There were some decent returns
- 1:06Speaker 3: in there. I feel like I learned quite a lot,
- 1:08Speaker 3: but also still feel a little bit confused about some
- 1:11Speaker 3: of the other players that I might want to have
- 1:12Speaker 3: in my team. Hence why I didn't make any transfers
- 1:14Speaker 3: heading into this one. But 60 points with the triple
- 1:17Speaker 3: captain active. Yes, it's a green arrow. I'm happy about that.
- 1:21Speaker 3: But there was definitely a frustration with Harlan not getting more.
- 1:25Speaker 3: And then, I had another starting blanker like I had
- 1:27Speaker 3: the week before I had Solis with it. This week
- 1:30Speaker 3: it was Sangari. Just, yeah, a bit frustrating. But nonetheless,
- 1:34Speaker 3: I shouldn't moan because it was green and we should
- 1:36Speaker 3: take the green arrows and be happy about them.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yeah, he was actually the most ever triple captains player
- 1:42Speaker 1: in fantasy history. So it wasn't just us that were
- 1:44Speaker 1: left frustrated. I was watching that. I was presenting it
- 1:45Speaker 1: for the Premier League and I was watching it. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: to be honest, Coventry was so, so good that actually,
- 1:50Speaker 1: in a way, it almost felt like we got lucky,
- 1:52Speaker 1: although it was a very Harland-esque goal. I thought, though,
- 1:55Speaker 1: for those who brought in Shirky, over two million transfers in,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the fifth most ever, and that was a blank. So
- 2:01Speaker 1: I kind of feel, and with, what was it, Phil
- 2:03Speaker 1: Foden benched, O'Reilly going off in the warm-up as well,
- 2:06Speaker 1: and Dye starting but getting nothing. Actually, Jules, Haaland triple
- 2:11Speaker 1: captain was kind of the best, well, Haaland in general
- 2:15Speaker 1: was the best option, really, because that was so frustrating.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and the only thing really is that he had
- 2:20Speaker 4: two big chances to make it at least a brace,
- 2:23Speaker 4: maybe even a hat-trick. And that's the last season I
- 2:26Speaker 4: remember at triple captain him against Leeds at home where
- 2:29Speaker 4: I thought he would have an absolute feast and he
- 2:31Speaker 4: got two points and didn't really get much in that game.
- 2:34Speaker 2: The disappointment in this one is.
- 2:35Speaker 4: That a player of his level should have had at
- 2:39Speaker 4: least two, really three.
- 2:41Speaker 2: He had the chances for it.
- 2:42Speaker 4: So that was a bit frustrating. But like you said, Kelly,
- 2:45Speaker 4: it could have been worse. And And some people even
- 2:48Speaker 4: went for Schalke as the triple captain and as the captain.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And on paper, that looked a good idea. And to
- 2:54Speaker 2: be fair, again, I thought he was also a bit
- 2:56Speaker 2: unlucky because he was quite creative. He hit the post.
- 2:59Speaker 4: But at the end of the day, it's only the
- 3:01Speaker 4: points that you've got on your team that matters the most.
- 3:04Speaker 4: And for us to have 27 with Highlands, to be fair,
- 3:07Speaker 4: it's still okay as a triple captain. Yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Elsewhere? Isak was heavily sold. Gakpo got two assists and,
- 3:15Speaker 1: of course, provided those assists for Alexander Isak. There was
- 3:18Speaker 1: no Gakpo in the squad last night for Liverpool's Champions
- 3:21Speaker 1: League match. But I'm wondering if we're starting to look
- 3:23Speaker 1: at Liverpool a little bit differently, Jules?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Yes and no, because I think Barcola's arrival now and
- 3:30Speaker 4: the fact that he started against Atletico Madrid in the
- 3:33Speaker 4: Champions League, for example, because Gakpo was out with that.
- 3:36Speaker 4: What looked like, well, suddenly Iraula was quite reassuring on
- 3:39Speaker 4: the seriousness of the Gakpo injury. So, He will probably
- 3:42Speaker 4: be back this weekend for the league. But with Barcola,
- 3:46Speaker 4: I think not just the line-up is going to change
- 3:48Speaker 4: a bit and who plays where, but also I think
- 3:50Speaker 4: the team's dynamic and some of the patterns of play
- 3:53Speaker 4: will change because I think Barcola has everything to become
- 3:56Speaker 4: the leader and the key player in this attack for
- 3:58Speaker 4: Liverpool behind Isak, even ahead of Virz.
- 4:01Speaker 2: So well ahead of Gakpo too.
- 4:03Speaker 4: So there's something just to monitor because I'm not sure
- 4:06Speaker 4: where Gakpo finds his place.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Oh, Virz as well, to be fair. Now that Barcola...
- 4:10Speaker 2: He's here and clearly he's going to play quite a lot.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and clearly Sbozlai is the man to own. We
- 4:16Speaker 1: saw it again in the Champions League last night. Barcailo
- 4:17Speaker 1: did go off, didn't he, with a bit of an
- 4:19Speaker 1: injury too. So plenty to watch out for in terms
- 4:21Speaker 1: of the Liverpool attack if you are wanting to invest. Sam,
- 4:25Speaker 1: who else caught your eye from the game week?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Well, obviously most of the people that were going for
- 4:31Speaker 3: Cherki in their teams were doing it at the expense
- 4:34Speaker 3: of Brian Mbermo, who then went and It was kind
- 4:37Speaker 3: of one of those weeks where I imagine a lot
- 4:39Speaker 3: of wildcarders were left feeling really frustrated because a lot
- 4:41Speaker 3: of the players that they would have sold this week
- 4:44Speaker 3: actually did quite well in the game week, including the
- 4:47Speaker 3: whole defence as well in that. So I think if
- 4:50Speaker 3: you went early on the wildcard, you maybe felt a
- 4:51Speaker 3: bit frustrated. But yeah, Mbombe, the most sold player heading
- 4:55Speaker 3: into the week, over a million managers sold him, scored
- 4:58Speaker 3: the goal, got a bonus point. And it was definitely
- 5:00Speaker 3: a frustration for those managers that got rid of him.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I must admit, I was quite close. I was really
- 5:04Speaker 3: tempted to do something. I wasn't really sure about going
- 5:08Speaker 3: for Manchester City. I wasn't sure where to go. And
- 5:10Speaker 3: I knew that I'd probably want Chelsea the following week.
- 5:13Speaker 3: So I thought, well, maybe the best bet is to
- 5:14Speaker 3: just do nothing and just wait and see and hope
- 5:17Speaker 3: that we get a lot of information out of Arsenal
- 5:19Speaker 3: and Chelsea. And then I know which way I wanted
- 5:21Speaker 3: to go. I'm not sure I did get a lot
- 5:22Speaker 3: of information out of Arsenal and Chelsea. As much as
- 5:24Speaker 3: I enjoyed the game, I think I came out of
- 5:26Speaker 3: it feeling just as confused as to how to invest
- 5:30Speaker 3: in them as I did going into it. But yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 3: the Manchester United guys in particular and Berme continuing to
- 5:36Speaker 3: look like decent options and make for difficult sell now.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I think maybe that's why I was quite relieved and
- 5:42Speaker 1: didn't feel quite as frustrated with Haaland because I was literally,
- 5:45Speaker 1: classic me, 629 hovering over Mbembe to Schurke and I
- 5:49Speaker 1: didn't do it. I decided I'm trying not to do
- 5:51Speaker 1: as many of those. So I think I felt quite
- 5:53Speaker 1: grateful that I'd got away with one with Schurke, so
- 5:55Speaker 1: to speak. So actually... Haaland getting a return of some
- 5:58Speaker 1: kind and Cherky blanking was not a bad result, particularly
- 6:02Speaker 1: with Mbunmo scoring as well. Actually, it was Tyreek Mitchell
- 6:06Speaker 1: that was the top scoring player of the game week. Sam,
- 6:08Speaker 1: didn't we have him in quite a few of our drafts?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yes, for the whole of pre-season I pretty much had to.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And over the opening couple of weeks I was thinking, well,
- 6:16Speaker 3: it's probably a good thing I didn't because Crystal Palace
- 6:18Speaker 3: haven't exactly started the season well. But I think we
- 6:22Speaker 3: did learn quite a lot about the Fulham defence and
- 6:24Speaker 3: the vulnerabilities and where the vulnerabilities are in the Fulham defence.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And obviously they play Liverpool next, so looking at that
- 6:30Speaker 3: side of the pitch I think could be quite interesting.
- 6:32Speaker 3: But yeah, a couple of goals for Mitchell in this one.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I'm not sure even he thought he was going to
- 6:37Speaker 3: get a couple of goals in this one though when
- 6:38Speaker 3: he was interviewed after the game, but really decent option
- 6:41Speaker 3: and with a 15 point return that's really nice if
- 6:43Speaker 3: you did have him in.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah and for Bournemouth the early game on Saturday saw
- 6:48Speaker 1: Bournemouth lose yet another lead they were so good against
- 6:51Speaker 1: Newcastle they'd be absolutely kicking themselves and Tavernier and Scott
- 6:55Speaker 1: both with double digit points but it feels quite hard
- 6:58Speaker 1: to assess Bournemouth if you're going to go for them
- 7:00Speaker 1: it's probably the attack that you're going to go for
- 7:02Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 7:03Speaker 4: Yeah yeah you should absolutely because I think they've got
- 7:06Speaker 4: something really good going again the stability from last season
- 7:09Speaker 4: having a new manager that has a lot of principles
- 7:11Speaker 4: similar to Irawla. The old manager, I think he's helping massively,
- 7:15Speaker 4: but they need to sort out how to manage those
- 7:17Speaker 4: games because, as you said, Kelsna is too often, too
- 7:20Speaker 4: many times. So the City game, I think the Everton
- 7:23Speaker 4: game and then the Newcastle game where they're leading and
- 7:26Speaker 4: in the end they either lose or just drop two
- 7:28Speaker 4: more points and have a draw. And that's not enough
- 7:31Speaker 4: when you get to those closing moments of a game.
- 7:34Speaker 4: You should be able to manage that, control that and
- 7:37Speaker 4: just not concede those goals. Some of those goals were
- 7:39Speaker 4: really avoidable too.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Do we need a hold offender, Sam? Is a hold
- 7:43Speaker 1: offender becoming essential? Or is it actually maybe a relief
- 7:46Speaker 1: that they've got Chelsea this weekend, so we're not going
- 7:48Speaker 1: to get lured into that? Maybe.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I think what Jules said last week is absolutely right.
- 7:54Speaker 3: So yes, they are the only team now to still
- 7:57Speaker 3: have not conceded any goals. But the XGC numbers, their
- 8:01Speaker 3: expected goals conceded, are really, really high. Now you can
- 8:05Speaker 3: look at that in one of two ways, because their
- 8:06Speaker 3: XGC numbers were really high in the Championship last year
- 8:09Speaker 3: as well. So maybe that's just the norm for them.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Maybe they just do concede a lot of chances and
- 8:17Speaker 3: that's fine if they continue to be able to kind
- 8:19Speaker 3: of be a bit lucky, I think, defensively and not concede.
- 8:22Speaker 3: That's what we've seen over the last few weeks. But
- 8:24Speaker 3: you're right in what you just said, Kels. They've got
- 8:26Speaker 3: Chelsea up next, who just looked phenomenal again in midweek
- 8:29Speaker 3: when the cavalry came off the bench at halftime.
- 8:31Speaker 4: So I.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not going to go with a whole defender,
- 8:35Speaker 3: but they do look like decent options. And we did
- 8:38Speaker 3: have this with Sunderland last year. So maybe we should
- 8:40Speaker 3: be paying more attention because there's always one of the
- 8:43Speaker 3: newly promoted teams where the defenders do well. And even
- 8:46Speaker 3: if they don't keep a clean sheet, we have already
- 8:49Speaker 3: seen attacking threat out of their defence already. So there
- 8:51Speaker 3: are definitely options there.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And of course, Spurs got a clean sheet. Hurrah!
- 8:56Speaker 4: The only positive of the season so far.
- 8:59Speaker 2: There we go.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Well, I had faith. 1.3 million managers didn't. It's only
- 9:05Speaker 1: because De Bruyne was my backup. I'm forced to play
- 9:06Speaker 1: him week in, week out. So yeah, I was pretty
- 9:08Speaker 1: relieved about that. I'm still not sure he's the goalkeeper
- 9:10Speaker 1: I want, but at least we got the clean sheets. Okay,
- 9:14Speaker 1: Chelsea versus Arsenal. Of course, I know it was a
- 9:16Speaker 1: big game in FPL. We're going to talk about that
- 9:18Speaker 1: in a bit more detail. Jules, I've just realised we
- 9:19Speaker 1: spoke about Sam's game. We didn't really go into yours
- 9:21Speaker 1: in depth.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I mean, 66 points, similar to what Captain Haaland, which
- 9:27Speaker 4: I think if you have done it, has kind of,
- 9:30Speaker 4: saved your week a little bit and has taken you
- 9:33Speaker 4: into Green Arrow's territory above average. I had Mbomo, I
- 9:37Speaker 4: kept him, that was good. Odegaard was outstanding again, like
- 9:40Speaker 4: he was in the Champions League on Wednesday night for Arsenal. Again,
- 9:44Speaker 4: Gvardiol also with some points and then the rest was
- 9:47Speaker 4: a bit disappointing. I thought Bruno Fernandes was really disappointing
- 9:50Speaker 4: in that game. Joel Pedro against Arsenal really could have
- 9:53Speaker 4: done a bit better but at the end of the
- 9:55Speaker 4: day it's only one point. Pascal Gross is only 1.2
- 9:57Speaker 4: so Andrew Robinson is only one. So there was a
- 9:59Speaker 4: lot of one-pointers in my team. But yeah, the triple
- 10:02Speaker 4: captain worked in that way for saving the game week.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it was frustrating for me. I got 54. I'm
- 10:07Speaker 1: always just like a few points off making the right
- 10:10Speaker 1: decisions or having kind of what feels like a slightly
- 10:12Speaker 1: more respectable score. Just above average again, but I benched Solis.
- 10:16Speaker 1: At the last minute, I changed Calvert-Lewin out for Solis,
- 10:18Speaker 1: which was just silly. And Solis outscored three of my
- 10:22Speaker 1: four midfielders. So it was just hard, wasn't it? I
- 10:25Speaker 1: think there was a lot of uncertainty around Solis going
- 10:27Speaker 1: into that game week. And as I said, we're going
- 10:29Speaker 1: to talk about Arsenal and maybe see which way we're
- 10:31Speaker 1: leaning in terms of which players are the best to
- 10:33Speaker 1: have very shortly. Okay, then in terms of the FPL
- 10:36Speaker 1: Pod Mini League then, we have got another change at
- 10:39Speaker 1: the top. Joseph Caulfield is up top. He sold Bruno
- 10:42Speaker 1: and DCL and brought Gibbs, White and Haaland, which worked
- 10:45Speaker 1: out well. Could have been so much better had that
- 10:47Speaker 1: Forest goal not been ruled out. but Kinski wouldn't have
- 10:49Speaker 1: had his clean sheet. So Joseph triple captained Haaland. Interestingly,
- 10:54Speaker 1: the top 10 managers in our league, out of them all,
- 10:56Speaker 1: it was only Joseph and Martin White in seventh who
- 10:59Speaker 1: played the triple captain. Everyone else played the free hits,
- 11:02Speaker 1: most of them, because they didn't own Haaland. Some to
- 11:04Speaker 1: bring in more Man City assets. Joseph got 75 points.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Malachi Fox has gone up to second, three points behind Joseph.
- 11:12Speaker 1: He used the chip as well to remove his Arsenal
- 11:14Speaker 1: and Chelsea assets for their game against each other and
- 11:16Speaker 1: brought in Semenyo, Shirky, Gibbs White and Isak. Nils of
- 11:21Speaker 1: Nord Bay had the biggest climb of the week after
- 11:24Speaker 1: game week two. He was in 29th and he now
- 11:27Speaker 1: finds himself in third. Also played the free hit chip,
- 11:30Speaker 1: getting 71 points, meaning he is now two points behind Maliki.
- 11:34Speaker 1: If you do want to join us, the league code
- 11:36Speaker 1: is Q0HV1Q. Okay then, we haven't yet spoken about Chelsea
- 11:41Speaker 1: versus Arsenal and we need to, but we also, I
- 11:44Speaker 1: think that comes part of a bigger conversation about about
- 11:47Speaker 1: our premiums. That game, I think, helped us. Did it?
- 11:52Speaker 1: Did it? I don't know if it did. It helped
- 11:55Speaker 1: me in time. No, it didn't help me at all.
- 11:57Speaker 1: What am I talking about?
- 11:58Speaker 2: That's exactly what you expected, no?
- 12:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but from an FPL perspective, I'm not sure it
- 12:02Speaker 3: helped us. Like, it was a great game of football.
- 12:04Speaker 3: It was exactly what I expected it to be. But
- 12:06Speaker 3: I was hoping that one of those players on each
- 12:09Speaker 3: side would go, pick me in FPL.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But they didn't really.
- 12:14Speaker 3: There were kind of a few of them that all
- 12:15Speaker 3: put their hands up which is what they've been doing
- 12:17Speaker 3: in the opening weeks of the season.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But maybe it helped me, Sam, because I'm like you,
- 12:21Speaker 1: a Harland and a Bruno owner, and it just made
- 12:23Speaker 1: me go, okay, well, Palmer's not done anything there to
- 12:27Speaker 1: make me go, I need to spend the money on him.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I can go for Rodgers. So maybe that's why it
- 12:31Speaker 1: helped me. Whereas all of a sudden, if Palmer had
- 12:34Speaker 1: gone off in a big game like that, I think
- 12:36Speaker 1: it would have been very hard to ignore. Don't get
- 12:38Speaker 1: me wrong, he's still pretty hard to ignore. But I
- 12:41Speaker 1: don't know, from that point of view, can we go
- 12:45Speaker 1: Jules for Rodgers instead of Palmer?
- 12:47Speaker 2: Does it cover him?
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you can. Obviously, it's cheaper, 2 million cheaper.
- 12:52Speaker 4: So that's very important in the game because you might
- 12:56Speaker 4: need some of that 2 million to buy another player
- 12:58Speaker 4: that you really want to go up to, I don't know,
- 13:00Speaker 4: Alexander Isak as your third forward.
- 13:02Speaker 2: With Joao Pedro and Haaland or whatever. So you might
- 13:05Speaker 2: need that money.
- 13:05Speaker 4: The extra money there. If you look at the stats,
- 13:08Speaker 4: the ownership is pretty similar, 22% for Palmer, 28% for
- 13:12Speaker 4: For Rodgers, Palmer is on pens though, which is for
- 13:16Speaker 4: sure guaranteed, as we saw in the League Cup win
- 13:19Speaker 4: that they had against Leeds when they were 2-0 down
- 13:21Speaker 4: and then came back in the second half once Palmer
- 13:25Speaker 4: and Rodgers.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Got off the bench, for example.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Similar goals per 90 at 0.68, 0.69.
- 13:34Speaker 2: For Palmer and Rodgers.
- 13:37Speaker 4: There's more shots per 90 for Cole Palmer, which I
- 13:40Speaker 4: think you could expect that from here a bit.
- 13:43Speaker 2: But then Rodgers has created a bit more chances too.
- 13:44Speaker 4: So there's really, I think at the end of the season,
- 13:47Speaker 4: I expect them to be really close in terms of points.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I don't expect Palmer to be like 25 or 30
- 13:53Speaker 4: points ahead of Rodgers or the other one, unless there's
- 13:55Speaker 4: an injury somewhere. But if they stay fit and Chelsea
- 13:59Speaker 4: continue to play in this way, which would be a
- 14:01Speaker 4: successful way, certainly attacking-wise, then I expect them to be
- 14:04Speaker 4: quite close.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So really, it's.
- 14:08Speaker 4: If you prefer Palmer or Rodgers and the way they
- 14:10Speaker 4: play and if you can make up with those two million.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I think if you can have those two million, go
- 14:14Speaker 4: for Palmer because I still think he's more safe and
- 14:17Speaker 4: still more important for this Chelsea team than Rodgers will
- 14:20Speaker 4: be this season. But if the money is a bit tight,
- 14:23Speaker 4: then I think there's nothing wrong with getting Rodgers ahead
- 14:26Speaker 4: of Palmer.
- 14:27Speaker 1: The problem is money is tight for all of us,
- 14:29Speaker 1: isn't it? We've all got roughly the same... the same budget.
- 14:31Speaker 1: And I think Sam, probably what lawyers are saying is
- 14:33Speaker 1: when you've got another slightly cheaper alternative to a premium
- 14:38Speaker 1: within the same Premier League team, it feels easier to
- 14:41Speaker 1: scrimp and save, if you know what I mean, and
- 14:43Speaker 1: go for a Rodgers. Whereas I suppose you could say
- 14:46Speaker 1: you've got the same at Man United. You could go
- 14:48Speaker 1: from Bermuda over Bruno. You could, if you wanted Saka,
- 14:50Speaker 1: you could go for an Odegaard or a Solis, but
- 14:53Speaker 1: I don't know the form Rodgers is in. I think
- 14:54Speaker 1: it was a hat trick of assists for him last night. It,
- 14:58Speaker 1: it just feels like he's doing everything he can to
- 15:01Speaker 1: justify his price tag.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I've spent so much time this week
- 15:05Speaker 3: going backwards and forwards on which one of these two,
- 15:07Speaker 3: because it doesn't just come down to a straight choice
- 15:09Speaker 3: between Rodgers and Palmer, which I find in itself difficult.
- 15:12Speaker 3: As George just mentioned, I was looking at the stats.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Palmer's getting a point every 12 and a half minutes.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Rodgers is getting a point every 13.6 minutes. There's very
- 15:19Speaker 3: little difference in that. Rodgers has got the better XG.
- 15:22Speaker 3: He's also got the better XA. And he's got a
- 15:25Speaker 3: better XGI. So for all of the expected metrics, Rodgers
- 15:28Speaker 3: is better, but Palmer's more involved, more touches, more passes received.
- 15:32Speaker 3: He's also having an attempt on goal more often. He's
- 15:34Speaker 3: also had the most shots in that Chelsea team, even
- 15:36Speaker 3: more than Jal Pedro. So you look at that and
- 15:38Speaker 3: you go, well, okay, the metrics are quite split between
- 15:40Speaker 3: the two of them. So then I have to look
- 15:42Speaker 3: at how would I fit them into my team? And
- 15:44Speaker 3: should I be making a choice or should I be
- 15:45Speaker 3: just getting both? Should we actually just be getting all
- 15:47Speaker 3: three of those Chelsea attackers and just have them all
- 15:50Speaker 3: given the fixtures that they have coming up?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Maybe that's an option.
- 15:53Speaker 3: But then I'm looking at my team with Bruno and
- 15:55Speaker 3: Mbermo and I'm thinking, well, I have to sell one
- 15:57Speaker 3: of those two in order to buy a Chelsea asset.
- 15:59Speaker 3: So it's a choice between having Bruno and Rodgers versus
- 16:03Speaker 3: having Palmer and Mbermo. And that's, I think, the decisions
- 16:06Speaker 3: that a lot of FPL managers are making. It's the
- 16:08Speaker 3: same with Arsenal as well, who we'll talk about in
- 16:09Speaker 3: a minute. Because it's not just the straight choice between
- 16:14Speaker 3: the two. Because I think looking at Rodgers and Palmer there,
- 16:16Speaker 3: it is fairly even. You are looking at it and going, well,
- 16:19Speaker 3: there's not a huge amount of difference. And I actually
- 16:21Speaker 3: agree with Jules. I don't think there'll be a huge
- 16:22Speaker 3: amount of difference between them in price in points that
- 16:25Speaker 3: they return over the course of this season by the
- 16:28Speaker 3: time we get to game week 38. But there might
- 16:32Speaker 3: be a massive difference between what Bruno and Mbambo do.
- 16:36Speaker 3: And if I've sold the wrong one of those two
- 16:38Speaker 3: to bring in the wrong Chelsea one, I think that's
- 16:40Speaker 3: where the difficulty comes for a lot of managers because
- 16:43Speaker 3: you're talking about selling a premium asset from another club
- 16:46Speaker 3: to fund one from a different one and making the
- 16:49Speaker 3: right call between how you own these players. That's difficult.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it does feel like that, doesn't it? Okay, so elsewhere,
- 16:58Speaker 1: we're kind of, it sounds like we're all kind of
- 17:01Speaker 1: leaning towards Rodgers, but dependent on what you're doing elsewhere.
- 17:04Speaker 1: What about Arsenal? Jules, would you do both of them
- 17:07Speaker 1: actually quickly?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Both Rodgers and Palmer.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah, bear in mind we're all Pedro owners.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Withdraw Pedro.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, three fields is a lot because there
- 17:18Speaker 4: will be games where all three of them are great
- 17:21Speaker 4: and will return. So one will get a goal, another
- 17:23Speaker 4: one we might just get an assist, but that's still
- 17:25Speaker 4: a good return for us in the game. I don't
- 17:28Speaker 4: think those three together will return all three together every week,
- 17:33Speaker 4: for sure. There will be games where it's difficult and
- 17:35Speaker 4: we saw that against Arsenal, for example. I even thought
- 17:38Speaker 4: Rodgers was a bit lucky with his goal. And so
- 17:40Speaker 4: you could have had a game against Arsenal where neither
- 17:42Speaker 4: of them would have returned.
- 17:44Speaker 2: So I think that's to keep in mind.
- 17:46Speaker 4: It's really rare that we've got three attackers of the
- 17:49Speaker 4: same team in our team, really. You can have a
- 17:52Speaker 4: defender and then two attackers. That often happens, especially with
- 17:55Speaker 4: the big clubs.
- 17:56Speaker 2: But three.
- 17:57Speaker 4: You know, it's like, would you have Cherky, Foden and
- 18:00Speaker 4: Haaland in your team?
- 18:01Speaker 2: I don't think we would go there.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Even from an Arsenal point of view, would you have Saka,
- 18:05Speaker 4: Havertz and other guys?
- 18:06Speaker 2: It feels a little bit wrong in a way, but...
- 18:09Speaker 2: But no Europe, Jules.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Does that make a difference? Yeah, maybe.
- 18:13Speaker 4: It's more that at the end of the day, I
- 18:15Speaker 4: think also there's just one ball for them to three
- 18:18Speaker 4: to share. And there's a point where it's the same
- 18:19Speaker 4: for the Barca front three, for the Bayern Munich front three,
- 18:22Speaker 4: for the PSG front three. There will be games where
- 18:25Speaker 4: it's just, it's not going to happen for all of them.
- 18:28Speaker 2: That's the thing more.
- 18:30Speaker 4: I mean, Cole Palmer revealed recently that, you know, Morgan
- 18:34Speaker 4: Rogers has all three of them, but it's a bit
- 18:36Speaker 4: different because he's, you know, this is his team and
- 18:38Speaker 4: he does what he wants. Cole Palmer's dad, you know,
- 18:42Speaker 4: also I think has three of them and Cole Palmer
- 18:44Speaker 4: is his captain, fair enough.
- 18:46Speaker 2: So you can do it. I don't think I would
- 18:48Speaker 2: go there, but you can do it. And it's expensive too.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it was interesting this week, the clip
- 18:52Speaker 1: that's done the rounds. Morgan Rogers does play FPL and
- 18:55Speaker 1: he's got all three Chelsea attackers to have himself covered
- 18:58Speaker 1: just in case. So it depends if you want to
- 19:00Speaker 1: go with the Morgan Rogers way of playing FPL and
- 19:02Speaker 1: cover yourself or just play a little bit of risk
- 19:05Speaker 1: and reward. The latter feels a little bit more likely,
- 19:08Speaker 1: doesn't it? Okay, Arsenal then. And this is good in
- 19:11Speaker 1: a way because we've got one Odegaard owner, two Solis owners,
- 19:14Speaker 1: some idiot that benched Solis last week. He did get
- 19:19Speaker 1: a rest in the Champions League last night. Well, he
- 19:22Speaker 1: didn't start. which makes me at least feel a little
- 19:24Speaker 1: bit better about Solis' start chances this weekend. Because I
- 19:27Speaker 1: think we were all a little bit put off, weren't we,
- 19:29Speaker 1: by the game week two, blank, against Aston Villa and
- 19:32Speaker 1: him being taken off early. But where are we landing
- 19:35Speaker 1: on this debate at the moment, Sam? Do you know what?
- 19:41Speaker 3: This one I almost find more difficult than the Chelsea one.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Because the Chelsea one, I kind of feel like I'm
- 19:45Speaker 3: picking between... They both feel like they're going to return.
- 19:49Speaker 1: This one.
- 19:50Speaker 3: is more difficult because the reason why you'd go for
- 19:53Speaker 3: Palmer over Rodgers over there is because we've got certainty
- 19:55Speaker 3: of penalties. We've never really had certainty of penalties at Arsenal.
- 19:58Speaker 3: They seem to just feel it on the day and
- 20:01Speaker 3: go for it. So it's not like we can definitely
- 20:03Speaker 3: say 100% that one of them has penalties and then
- 20:05Speaker 3: the other two don't. But we're also talking about a
- 20:08Speaker 3: bigger difference in price with these guys, because obviously we've
- 20:10Speaker 3: got the two million difference between Rodgers and Palmer, but
- 20:13Speaker 3: over here.
- 20:13Speaker 1: We've got three.
- 20:14Speaker 3: It's far easier to have an Erdogan and Solis combination.
- 20:17Speaker 3: But equally, over the course of the last couple of
- 20:22Speaker 3: seasons in FPL, we've moved very much more towards the
- 20:24Speaker 3: double defence with Arsenal because they are so good defensively
- 20:28Speaker 3: and Calafuri is a, absolute no-brainer and Konza feels like
- 20:32Speaker 3: he might be a bit of a gift to us
- 20:34Speaker 3: at his price point as well going forward so it
- 20:36Speaker 3: does mean that you are having to make a really
- 20:38Speaker 3: difficult choice between one Arsenal attacker if you are going
- 20:41Speaker 3: to double up in defence if you have the money
- 20:45Speaker 3: I think Saka is the best one to go for
- 20:47Speaker 3: I do I think he is I think unlike at
- 20:49Speaker 3: Chelsea where there's not a lot of difference between Rodgers
- 20:52Speaker 3: and Palmer I think here there is a is a
- 20:54Speaker 3: big difference between having Saka in your team and having
- 20:56Speaker 3: Erdogan and Solis but equally I If you can't afford Saka,
- 21:01Speaker 3: I think it's okay to compromise on having one of
- 21:03Speaker 3: these two. It's just that the decision you make between
- 21:06Speaker 3: the two of them is harder. So when you look
- 21:08Speaker 3: at shots, Erdegaard has had a couple more so far
- 21:11Speaker 3: this season than Solis has. But chances created, Solis is
- 21:15Speaker 3: one ahead of Erdegaard. Solis has created eight, whereas Erdegaard's
- 21:18Speaker 3: done seven. For expected assists, though, Erdegaard is quite a
- 21:22Speaker 3: long way ahead. It's 1.3. sorry, 1.05 XA for Odegaard,
- 21:27Speaker 3: whereas for Solis it's 0.35 over the opening week. So
- 21:30Speaker 3: there's quite a lot of difference between the underlying numbers
- 21:33Speaker 3: between those two. So underlying numbers would suggest you would
- 21:38Speaker 3: get Odegaard instead if you were going to compromise on
- 21:41Speaker 3: the two. But as a Solis owner, I'm not sure
- 21:42Speaker 3: I want to sell him.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of what I think. But watching Odegaard
- 21:47Speaker 1: last night, he was brilliant again. So Jules, I'm probably
- 21:49Speaker 1: a little bit envious really that you've gone for Odegaard
- 21:52Speaker 1: over Solis. Is Do you have a hankering to get
- 21:55Speaker 1: Saka into your team? Or are you quite happy with
- 21:56Speaker 1: just having Odegaard?
- 21:58Speaker 4: The three million difference between Odegaard and Saka, for example,
- 22:02Speaker 4: for me, is too much right now. The most informed
- 22:04Speaker 4: player is Odegaard. The most important player for this Arsenal
- 22:08Speaker 4: team is Odegaard. The confidence that he has. I mean,
- 22:11Speaker 4: we saw Saka missing chances against Napoli. Chances that really
- 22:14Speaker 4: he should not be missed. Shouldn't be missing, sorry. And
- 22:17Speaker 4: Odegaard took his goal really, really well again, which was
- 22:20Speaker 4: a very difficult goal.
- 22:22Speaker 2: To score against Napoli in that 1-0 win. So I think.
- 22:26Speaker 4: And the stats also back up that kind of form,
- 22:29Speaker 4: not just what we see on TV, but also what's
- 22:31Speaker 4: happening on the pitch. So for now, at some point
- 22:34Speaker 4: in the season, Saka might be the better option for
- 22:37Speaker 4: that difference of price and the most informed and the
- 22:41Speaker 4: one on a scoring streak or whatever. Sure, for now,
- 22:45Speaker 4: if you ask me, I would never let Odegaard go.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Even if I had the money for Saka... I would
- 22:49Speaker 4: never let Odegaard go for Saka or let Odegaard go
- 22:52Speaker 4: for Solis.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Wow, interesting. Would you, Sam, I would prefer to have
- 22:56Speaker 1: Odegaard over Solis. If I had a clean slate right now,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I'd buy Odegaard. Yeah, I would too. Of the two
- 23:03Speaker 1: of them.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 3: I do think that over the course of the season,
- 23:06Speaker 3: Saka will outscore him. Probably by a chunk of points though.
- 23:09Speaker 1: He feels more, he's got the more explosive potential, doesn't he? Saka,
- 23:13Speaker 1: I think.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:15Speaker 3: And so I think over the course of the season,
- 23:17Speaker 3: as long as Saka stays fit, then he would comfortably
- 23:20Speaker 3: outscore Odegaard and Solis, both of them. If I was
- 23:24Speaker 3: wildcarding this week, I'd have Odegaard instead for sure over
- 23:27Speaker 3: Solis because I think I would probably be looking at
- 23:32Speaker 3: keeping Bruno Fernandes. And if you're looking at keeping Bruno Fernandes,
- 23:36Speaker 3: then you can't really justify having Rodgers and Saka if
- 23:42Speaker 3: you also want Haaland and Jal Pedro and other players
- 23:45Speaker 3: kind of more expensive midfielder options. I think you have
- 23:47Speaker 3: to make a compromise somewhere. And the compromise I'd probably
- 23:50Speaker 3: be prepared to make is to have Odegaard over Saka.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So probably in terms of ranking them, if money wasn't
- 23:56Speaker 1: a thing, I think we'd all go Saka, Odegaard, Solis,
- 24:00Speaker 1: but money is a thing. So at the moment, Jules,
- 24:03Speaker 1: even if you want Saka, you'd probably stick with Odegaard.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Even if I had the money, I would not go
- 24:08Speaker 2: for Saka right now. I would keep Odegaard.
- 24:11Speaker 4: And I think in a game like the Sunderland game
- 24:13Speaker 4: that they have on Saturday night, for example, In a
- 24:15Speaker 4: game like that, I still think, and I might be wrong,
- 24:19Speaker 4: and Saka will score a hat-trick and great for him.
- 24:21Speaker 4: But in those kind of games, really physical, really aggressive game,
- 24:25Speaker 4: where I would expect the Sunderland full-backs to double up
- 24:29Speaker 4: on their defence on Saka and Solis, who will be
- 24:31Speaker 4: the two Arsenal wingers, I think there's probably more to
- 24:34Speaker 4: get from an Odegaard point of view in a game
- 24:35Speaker 4: like that. Even just on set-pieces too, on some of them,
- 24:38Speaker 4: although Saka also takes them, I know, and Rice too,
- 24:41Speaker 4: but there's probably more from the position that Odegaard will
- 24:44Speaker 4: pick in these games. then Saka on his right-hand side
- 24:47Speaker 4: or Torres on his left-hand side.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Okay, Manchester United then. And it feels like if you
- 24:52Speaker 1: are trying to get another Chelsea player in this week,
- 24:54Speaker 1: Manchester United might well be where there's a sacrifice. A
- 24:57Speaker 1: lot of us, myself included, Sam included, Jules as well,
- 25:00Speaker 1: did the Manchester United double up with Mbumo and Bruno Fernandes.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And we always knew that this fixture was on the horizon,
- 25:06Speaker 1: the Manchester derby. And I was always planning on getting
- 25:10Speaker 1: rid of one of them. I have tossed and I
- 25:12Speaker 1: have turned at night. to work out which ones to
- 25:14Speaker 1: get rid of because, but my scoring last week was great,
- 25:17Speaker 1: but didn't help my decision. Fernandes would be the nice
- 25:20Speaker 1: ones to get rid of because he costs that bit more,
- 25:22Speaker 1: but I just couldn't sell Bruno Fernandes. Jules, are you
- 25:26Speaker 1: going to be part in company with either of them?
- 25:29Speaker 2: It is the key here.
- 25:30Speaker 4: I mean, Bruno holds all the keys of your team
- 25:32Speaker 4: and what you can do because it's just that extra money,
- 25:36Speaker 4: isn't it?
- 25:37Speaker 2: I watched him at.
- 25:39Speaker 4: The weekend and I thought he was terrible. And again,
- 25:42Speaker 4: let's remind everybody that Bruno has blanked twice in three games.
- 25:45Speaker 4: I know he had this incredible game against Ipswich and
- 25:49Speaker 4: well done. He was at the right place at the
- 25:51Speaker 4: right time. There's a penalty. There's one nice kind of
- 25:53Speaker 4: a tap-in, although the first touch is not easy to
- 25:56Speaker 4: do and he does it really well, but it's still
- 25:58Speaker 4: a tap-in. But the game against Everton, he was so poor,
- 26:04Speaker 4: like so many poor passes, missed pass, just everything.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I was like, what is going on here? Just an off-deck.
- 26:10Speaker 2: And he doesn't have many of those.
- 26:11Speaker 4: So I'm not saying like Bruno is rubbish and let's
- 26:14Speaker 4: all sell him because the ownership is still almost 50%.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I think it's 46 or 47%. So if you let
- 26:21Speaker 4: him go and he scores and he does well, it's
- 26:23Speaker 4: going to hurt you so much. And that's why for
- 26:25Speaker 4: me right now, I will still keep him. Not because
- 26:28Speaker 4: I think he's indispensable in your team to have. I
- 26:32Speaker 4: don't think he's reached his best form. I don't think
- 26:34Speaker 4: United as a collective are that great right now with
- 26:37Speaker 4: the ball. But because he's still so heavily owned, I
- 26:41Speaker 4: think we have to keep him.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's depressing that the ownership comes into it. But
- 26:47Speaker 1: it is a factor, isn't it, Sam? Yeah, and I
- 26:50Speaker 1: also think you have to think about the fixtures. So yes,
- 26:52Speaker 1: the fixture this weekend isn't great. It's the Manchester derby,
- 26:55Speaker 1: as we know. He doesn't have a terrible record against
- 26:58Speaker 1: Manchester City. It's not brilliant, but it's not terrible.
- 27:01Speaker 3: He's got 63 points against them in FPL, averages 4.8
- 27:04Speaker 3: points per match, three goals, three assists there.
- 27:06Speaker 1: So it's not a terrible record. It's not the best record.
- 27:08Speaker 1: But it's fine.
- 27:09Speaker 3: But then when you look at how the fixtures follow
- 27:11Speaker 3: after Manchester City, you've got Fulham, Spurs, Leeds, Bournemouth. Those
- 27:16Speaker 3: four fixtures do feel like there could be opportunities for
- 27:19Speaker 3: goals in there, particularly against Fulham and Spurs, who the
- 27:22Speaker 3: defences really haven't been very solid, despite what we saw
- 27:24Speaker 3: from Spurs at the weekend. There's definitely opportunities in those.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Then there's the difficult game against Chelsea in nine. It's
- 27:31Speaker 3: Villa in 10, who did look to have improved quite
- 27:33Speaker 3: dramatically when they played in the Champions League in midweek
- 27:37Speaker 3: before Liverpool. So there's definitely moments over the next few
- 27:41Speaker 3: weeks where if you sell Bruno Fernandes, you're going to
- 27:43Speaker 3: look at your team and think, ooh, I wish I
- 27:46Speaker 3: hadn't sold Bruno Fernandes in those fixtures that you have
- 27:48Speaker 3: coming up. And also, I'm not sure, we've spent a
- 27:51Speaker 3: lot of time talking about if you can cover. Can
- 27:53Speaker 3: you cover Palmer with Rodgers? Can you cover Saka with
- 27:56Speaker 3: a Nerdergaard? Can you cover Bruno Fernandes with Mbomo? I'm
- 28:00Speaker 3: not sure you can. I think this is the team
- 28:03Speaker 3: where you really do have to pay for their most
- 28:06Speaker 3: premium assets. So if you want to have a Manchester
- 28:08Speaker 3: United attacker right now, because Sesco isn't fully fit and
- 28:12Speaker 3: isn't starting, and maybe the situation changes in three, four,
- 28:15Speaker 3: five weeks' time when we're regularly seeing, if we're regularly
- 28:18Speaker 3: seeing Sesco starting. But right now, I think if you
- 28:21Speaker 3: want a Manchester United attacker, it kind of has to
- 28:23Speaker 3: be Bruno Fernandes. And that makes sense. it has an
- 28:27Speaker 3: impact on the other teams and how you invest in
- 28:30Speaker 3: their premiums as well.
- 28:32Speaker 1: That perhaps explains all of our answers on the other premiums,
- 28:34Speaker 1: doesn't it really, in terms of we're all sticking with Bruno.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I mean, no one's going to tell me in the
- 28:40Speaker 1: next bit they're about to sell Harland, are they?
- 28:42Speaker 3: No.
- 28:43Speaker 4: No.
- 28:44Speaker 1: No. We've got some sanity on this podcast. So we're
- 28:46Speaker 1: kind of going with the spine of Harland and Bruno,
- 28:49Speaker 1: and I guess other people will probably go with Harland
- 28:51Speaker 1: and Palmer, or maybe you're somehow going to completely take
- 28:54Speaker 1: everything all the money out the rest of your team
- 28:56Speaker 1: and find the way to get a third. But that's
- 28:57Speaker 1: kind of the way to do it. How did you feel, though,
- 29:00Speaker 1: watching Isak on Friday night, Jules? Did that make you
- 29:03Speaker 1: start to think, uh-oh, we thought we could kind of
- 29:06Speaker 1: do our Haaland-Pedro plus a cheap forward. Actually, we need
- 29:10Speaker 1: to fit Isak in?
- 29:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you look at the goal he scored
- 29:15Speaker 4: against Forest, for example, the Gakpo cross and it's a
- 29:18Speaker 4: tap-in for him, but he's still in the right place.
- 29:20Speaker 4: He looked sharp to go and get that ball. Then
- 29:23Speaker 4: it's again the link-up between Gakpo and Isak in that
- 29:26Speaker 4: game against Ipswich.
- 29:28Speaker 2: He looks better.
- 29:29Speaker 4: He's still not perfect yet because there's still more to
- 29:33Speaker 4: come from his relationship with Viet, for example, and there
- 29:36Speaker 4: should be more coming from Barcola as well.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Now that Barcola has been playing and.
- 29:40Speaker 4: They won against Atletico Madrid in midweek in the Champions
- 29:43Speaker 4: League coming from you know coming from a goal down
- 29:46Speaker 4: Barcola got a few cramps I don't think he was
- 29:48Speaker 4: really serious he came off after an hour they rushed
- 29:51Speaker 4: him a bit to start I think Irawla said that
- 29:53Speaker 4: himself I think it was a bit early to start
- 29:55Speaker 4: him especially in a game of this kind of calibre
- 29:58Speaker 4: But I don't think he might not be out for
- 30:00Speaker 4: the weekend. But even if he misses the weekend game,
- 30:03Speaker 4: he will be back soon after that. Anyway, so it'd
- 30:05Speaker 4: be very interesting to see the dynamic once Barcola is back,
- 30:08Speaker 4: when Gakpo is fit again. And he might be fit
- 30:10Speaker 4: this weekend because, again, I think he was more precaution
- 30:12Speaker 4: than anything else.
- 30:13Speaker 2: But Isak is very good. We know that.
- 30:16Speaker 4: He was very good for us before in FPL. Last
- 30:18Speaker 4: season was a nightmare for so many reasons. But if
- 30:21Speaker 4: Isak can come back to even 80% of what he was,
- 30:25Speaker 4: in the best season he had at Newcastle. He'd be
- 30:26Speaker 4: very interesting for us to own if we can afford him.
- 30:29Speaker 4: So I think for now, Gakpo was a really good, again,
- 30:33Speaker 4: to go from X or Y.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Gakpo was a really good substitute for Isak.
- 30:39Speaker 4: If you didn't have the fund to go for Isak,
- 30:41Speaker 4: I think there might be a point where Isak becomes
- 30:43Speaker 4: a bit of a, okay, what do we do with
- 30:45Speaker 4: him now?
- 30:45Speaker 2: Do we bring him in or not? Sam?
- 30:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the penalties thing comes back around, doesn't it,
- 30:51Speaker 3: with this conversation because we saw in game week one
- 30:55Speaker 3: that Sir Bosley was the one that took the ball,
- 30:56Speaker 3: took the penalty. Now you could argue that maybe that
- 30:58Speaker 3: was because of the location of the game and the
- 31:00Speaker 3: fact that it was at St James' Park and all
- 31:02Speaker 3: the emotion for Isak and all of that. But I
- 31:05Speaker 3: also think that that does play a part in it
- 31:06Speaker 3: because if you're going to spend 9.1 million now on
- 31:10Speaker 3: a forward, that's a lot more than you're going to
- 31:13Speaker 3: pay on Jao Pedro.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So he's going to be your second forward.
- 31:16Speaker 3: He has to kind of have, a lot of things,
- 31:18Speaker 3: a lot of things in his arsenal that make him
- 31:20Speaker 3: a really attractive buy. I would argue that Friday was
- 31:23Speaker 3: the first time we've really seen the best of Isak.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I think that that was the time where I was like, oh, okay, right.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Now he's, he's here and he looks good. And he
- 31:33Speaker 3: obviously had a very difficult season last year with injury.
- 31:38Speaker 3: But the year before when he was at Newcastle was
- 31:40Speaker 3: a phenomenal year in FPL. And we know he's got
- 31:42Speaker 3: that in his locker. So you have to kind of
- 31:44Speaker 3: take those conversations seriously and, But there are other options
- 31:47Speaker 3: in that Liverpool team. We've got Sabozlai who's cheap and
- 31:50Speaker 3: is on penalties we possibly maybe think. Plus also gets DEFCON,
- 31:55Speaker 3: plus also is on other set pieces. So there's a
- 31:57Speaker 3: good route to points there. We've got Barcola coming in.
- 31:59Speaker 3: We've got Gakpo who's currently the most transferred in player
- 32:02Speaker 3: heading into game week four. by quite a long way
- 32:06Speaker 3: as well. He's proving very, very popular, which I can
- 32:08Speaker 3: understand because he's cheap and he's a nice enabler. And
- 32:10Speaker 3: I think for people that are on wildcard, he does
- 32:13Speaker 3: look a good option. But what we yet don't know
- 32:15Speaker 3: is when all of these players are fit and available
- 32:17Speaker 3: for Liverpool, who starts where and what impact does that
- 32:20Speaker 3: have on their positioning?
- 32:21Speaker 2: So I.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Think for me, as a Sabozlai owner, I'm happy to
- 32:26Speaker 3: just stick with him for now. But Isak is in
- 32:29Speaker 3: the back of my mind. And I think if there
- 32:31Speaker 3: comes a point where I do decide, actually, I do
- 32:33Speaker 3: want the Chelsea treble up and I do want to
- 32:35Speaker 3: have Palmer, Rodgers and Del Pedro, that would open the
- 32:40Speaker 3: door to upgrade the third forward to Isak. Because obviously
- 32:44Speaker 3: you're taking quite a substantial amount of money out of
- 32:45Speaker 3: Bruno Fernandes then. So on wildcard, that might be the
- 32:50Speaker 3: time where I look at Liverpool. But it does feel
- 32:52Speaker 3: a bit frustrating because going into the next couple of
- 32:54Speaker 3: weeks against Fulham and Bournemouth, I mean, both of these
- 32:57Speaker 3: defences have been gettable in the opening weeks of the
- 33:01Speaker 3: season and we could see good returns out of Isak.
- 33:03Speaker 3: So if you're on wildcard right now or have a
- 33:05Speaker 3: route to him, he is a player I would seriously
- 33:07Speaker 3: consider investing in.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Okay, so a lot of the reason that there is
- 33:12Speaker 1: so many chips active this week will probably be because
- 33:15Speaker 1: of the conversation we have just had. There's over 378,000,
- 33:17Speaker 1: in fact, at the time of recording wildcard's. Active, and
- 33:23Speaker 1: it does feel like people are doing that. A lot
- 33:25Speaker 1: of the reason is to try and maybe get Chelsea
- 33:28Speaker 1: premiums in, maybe to move around their Manchester United premiums,
- 33:31Speaker 1: as we've just been saying. So who are the teams
- 33:33Speaker 1: that you'd first be targeting, Jules, on your wildcard? Would
- 33:36Speaker 1: you build those premiums? Would you decide who your premiums are,
- 33:39Speaker 1: your strategy with those, and then build out from there?
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:43Speaker 4: So like we've been saying, either you go for Palmer
- 33:46Speaker 4: and Mbomo, whether you go for Bruno, Rodgers, the Highlander
- 33:50Speaker 4: or Pedro front two doesn't change. If you want to
- 33:53Speaker 4: go for Isak, then obviously that limits your options in
- 33:56Speaker 4: midfield or in defence, but you won't be able to
- 33:58Speaker 4: go with Isak, Joel Pedro, Haaland, Bruno, you know, and
- 34:03Speaker 4: things like that. So you'll have to make a decision.
- 34:05Speaker 4: I think it's a very exciting time to play your
- 34:07Speaker 4: wild card if you want to now. If like Sam
- 34:11Speaker 4: and I, for example, you still have three free transfers,
- 34:14Speaker 4: you might not have to play your wild card and
- 34:16Speaker 4: you can keep it for maybe the international break that
- 34:18Speaker 4: will come up very soon or even the following game
- 34:21Speaker 4: week now. But if you want to play now, I
- 34:24Speaker 4: think it's very exciting because we have a bit of
- 34:26Speaker 4: the trend now, you know, and those choices that we've
- 34:29Speaker 4: been talking and discussing are not easy to make.
- 34:32Speaker 2: You know, Bruno, Palmer, the big game weeks where you said.
- 34:34Speaker 4: Oh, why did I go for Palmer and not for Bruno, Mbombo,
- 34:38Speaker 4: Rodgers or the other round?
- 34:40Speaker 2: All of that. It's normal. Every season is the same.
- 34:42Speaker 4: It's part of the game. That's what makes the game
- 34:44Speaker 4: so great. But I think it's very exciting if you
- 34:47Speaker 4: play your wildcard now.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Sam, where do you sit on? Because I've seen a
- 34:49Speaker 1: few people say you could jump between premiums. I... I
- 34:52Speaker 1: feel uncomfortable about that because I just feel like the
- 34:54Speaker 1: moment you jump is the week you jump, then the
- 34:57Speaker 1: person you've jumped off will return. And I can see why.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I know transfers are there to be used. I know
- 35:02Speaker 1: I'm a cautious FPL manager, but I've just been intrigued
- 35:04Speaker 1: by the number of people suggesting that's a viable strategy
- 35:06Speaker 1: this year.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I think you have to be really careful with that
- 35:10Speaker 3: because the reason why premiums are priced in the premium
- 35:13Speaker 3: price point is because over the course of a season
- 35:15Speaker 3: for the last few years, they have returned a significant
- 35:20Speaker 3: number of points. And obviously the price point that they
- 35:23Speaker 3: are given at the start of every season is dependent
- 35:25Speaker 3: upon the amount of points that they returned last year.
- 35:28Speaker 3: If you do well in a season, you're going to
- 35:29Speaker 3: take a price rise the following year. So the premium
- 35:32Speaker 3: assets have these premium price tags for that reason. Now,
- 35:35Speaker 3: as George quite rightly talked about earlier, there will be
- 35:38Speaker 3: weeks where Palmer does more than Rodgers does and Rodgers
- 35:41Speaker 3: does more than Palmer does or Saka does more than
- 35:43Speaker 3: Palmer does and vice versa. There will be weeks where
- 35:45Speaker 3: Bruno does stuff and then other weeks where he doesn't.
- 35:48Speaker 3: But the benefit or the reason why you've paid the
- 35:50Speaker 3: premium price point is because if you stay loyal to them,
- 35:53Speaker 3: you would hope that over the course of a season,
- 35:55Speaker 3: they would return a significant number of points. The massive
- 35:59Speaker 3: risk you have is if you jump between the premiums
- 36:03Speaker 3: and you go, well, there's a nice book of fixtures
- 36:05Speaker 3: coming up for Manchester City now, so I'll have Harlan.
- 36:09Speaker 3: But actually then in two weeks time, I'm going to
- 36:11Speaker 3: swap him for Isak or, and then I'm going to
- 36:13Speaker 3: use that money to upgrade somebody in the midfield. I'm
- 36:15Speaker 3: going to get Saka and Palmer, and then I'm going
- 36:17Speaker 3: to swap them out a bit later to get Bruno.
- 36:18Speaker 3: And if you do that, there's a really good chance
- 36:21Speaker 3: where you miss halls, because as we've seen over recent weeks,
- 36:24Speaker 3: players get halls, not just against in the easy fixtures
- 36:28Speaker 3: or in the supposed easy fixtures. They also get halls
- 36:31Speaker 3: in the more difficult fixtures against bigger clubs where they're competing.
- 36:34Speaker 1: With the, for the league or, or what have you.
- 36:37Speaker 3: So, For me, it's just not a strategy that I
- 36:39Speaker 3: like to deploy. I like to be loyal with my
- 36:42Speaker 3: premiums and move my differential players because it's the differentials
- 36:46Speaker 3: where I think you could really get a march because
- 36:48Speaker 3: those players don't tend to return significantly over the course
- 36:51Speaker 3: of a season. They tend to return in a little
- 36:54Speaker 3: block of fixtures. They have a purple patch, as we
- 36:55Speaker 3: like to call it, where they.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Do really well.
- 36:57Speaker 3: And then they die off and you get somebody else
- 36:59Speaker 3: instead to replace them. That for me feels like where
- 37:01Speaker 3: you do the hokey-cokey, not with your premiums.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Okay, just quickly, because I started asking about this and
- 37:07Speaker 1: then we got, kind of into another premium debate about
- 37:09Speaker 1: how we move around them. If someone is saying this
- 37:11Speaker 1: is wildcarding, Sam, none of us are, of course, but
- 37:14Speaker 1: who were the teams that you would be targeting then
- 37:16Speaker 1: alongside obviously sorting out your premiums?
- 37:19Speaker 3: So I think you obviously look at the fixture ticket,
- 37:21Speaker 3: but if you are playing a wildcard going into game
- 37:23Speaker 3: week four, then you have to make it, try and
- 37:25Speaker 3: make it last for as long as possible because obviously
- 37:27Speaker 3: you don't get your second one until 19. Chelsea's fixtures
- 37:30Speaker 3: are really good. So heavily invest in them, whether you
- 37:33Speaker 3: want to go for the double or the treble up
- 37:34Speaker 3: in attack, I'd do that. I would avoid their defence.
- 37:37Speaker 3: The Newcastle fixtures also look really nice and they've had
- 37:40Speaker 3: a decent start to the season. So I think you
- 37:42Speaker 3: can look at the Alangas, the Whistlers, people like that.
- 37:45Speaker 3: I think when it comes to the defenders, there will
- 37:46Speaker 3: be a massive temptation to jump to Hull because of
- 37:49Speaker 3: what we've seen so far this season. And that might
- 37:51Speaker 3: be the right decision for one of them. But I'd
- 37:54Speaker 3: keep a Coventry defender in there because, again, the fixtures
- 37:56Speaker 3: are nice. And over the next six weeks, they actually
- 37:58Speaker 3: sit top of the fixture ticker. They've got four home
- 38:01Speaker 3: fixtures and only two away fixtures. So there's a nice
- 38:03Speaker 3: balance for them there. Aston Villa's fixtures are starting to
- 38:09Speaker 3: improve as well over the coming weeks. They are a
- 38:11Speaker 3: team that I wouldn't necessarily get on a wildcard, but
- 38:13Speaker 3: I would just have a view to how to invest
- 38:16Speaker 3: in on the wildcard so that in the coming weeks
- 38:18Speaker 3: you can maybe make choices. But I think even despite
- 38:21Speaker 3: the fact that Liverpool's fixtures aren't great for the next
- 38:23Speaker 3: six weeks because they're skewed with Manchester City and Arsenal,
- 38:26Speaker 3: if you look at the other four, Fulham, Bournemouth, Brentford
- 38:28Speaker 3: and Brighton, you'd still invest there, you'd invest in Arsenal,
- 38:32Speaker 3: you'd still invest in Manchester City. But I think if
- 38:34Speaker 3: you're looking for clubs around the edges... then the Newcastles,
- 38:39Speaker 3: the likes of maybe Spurs, maybe Aston Villa, they'd be
- 38:42Speaker 3: the teams that I'd be looking at.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Okay, time for a differential of the week. And wow,
- 38:48Speaker 1: what a start to the season it's been, particularly for Jules,
- 38:50Speaker 1: but this week for both of you, one point you
- 38:52Speaker 1: both got. You got a combined two points. Jules went
- 38:55Speaker 1: for a Langer, you got a yellow card. Sam went
- 38:56Speaker 1: for Foden, who was benched. Let's hope, well.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Yeah, mine is still better. At least mine played.
- 39:01Speaker 4: From the start.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I'd say the only way is up, but... You could.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I wouldn't put it past either of you to get
- 39:06Speaker 1: zero this week. It's the only way it could be down.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I'm going to let you go first, Jules, out of pity.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Who are you going for?
- 39:13Speaker 2: Okay. Thank you for your pity. I really appreciate it.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Well deserved.
- 39:17Speaker 4: So I was going to go for Nico Jackson, but
- 39:20Speaker 4: because he played really well with Aston Villa in the
- 39:22Speaker 4: Champions League with the first win of the season, by
- 39:24Speaker 4: the way, we didn't mention it, but away at Club
- 39:26Speaker 4: Bruges on Tuesday, 3-2, he scored, although he was gifted
- 39:29Speaker 4: the goal. But he was really involved and I think
- 39:31Speaker 4: Nico is going to do well for Villa. So I
- 39:33Speaker 4: keep him probably for the week after. They are home
- 39:37Speaker 4: to Forest Villa and like Sam said, their fixtures look
- 39:39Speaker 4: good and Nico, I think, will look good. Anyway, I
- 39:41Speaker 4: went for Marcus Tavernier at Bournemouth. 3.2% own, so really,
- 39:47Speaker 4: really good differential. This one, I think he's played really well.
- 39:51Speaker 4: He blanked in game week two, but had 10 points
- 39:54Speaker 4: return game week one, 10 points return game week three
- 39:57Speaker 4: as well. He cost you 6 million, so really decent
- 40:00Speaker 4: price for a player like him with the form that
- 40:04Speaker 4: he's in.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Attacking-wise, Bournemouth are not a problem. It's more defensively. We
- 40:07Speaker 2: mentioned that already on the show.
- 40:09Speaker 4: But attacking-wise, it's very much still the principles of last
- 40:12Speaker 4: season under Irola with Marco Rosa this time. So I think, again,
- 40:15Speaker 4: there will be a lot for Bournemouth at home against Brentford.
- 40:20Speaker 4: A lot of space, a lot of the ball for
- 40:23Speaker 4: Tavernier to use. And I think he's going to do
- 40:24Speaker 4: really well.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Sam?
- 40:27Speaker 1: I'm going to go for Luka Vuskovic. He's 5 million.
- 40:30Speaker 3: He's only owned by 2.9% of the game. Obviously, he
- 40:33Speaker 3: plays for Brighton. Brighton play Coventry this weekend. He's got
- 40:37Speaker 3: two clean sheets so far this season, as well as
- 40:38Speaker 3: a goal and a couple of defensive contribution points and
- 40:41Speaker 3: a couple of bonus points versus Leeds in game week three.
- 40:43Speaker 3: 22 defensive contributions so far over the opening weeks for him.
- 40:47Speaker 3: That's the most across the Brighton team. And 18 points
- 40:50Speaker 3: so far, which only De Kalper, who's obviously playing out
- 40:52Speaker 3: of position, can better. So I think there's a really
- 40:55Speaker 3: good opportunity for him to get some attacking returns. We
- 40:57Speaker 3: haven't seen any clean sheets for Coventry. So from set pieces,
- 41:00Speaker 3: we might see some threat from him there, really. He's
- 41:02Speaker 3: very good at that. So, yeah, I'm going to go
- 41:05Speaker 3: for Vescovic and hope for a return. OK, good luck
- 41:09Speaker 3: to both of you.
- 41:10Speaker 1: You need it. Captains, transfers... And chips then. No chips active, correct?
- 41:17Speaker 3: No.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Correct.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Any transfers made? I've made one. I've got two more
- 41:23Speaker 1: burning a hole in my pocket. I may make another one.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Oh, you have three as well? Sorry, earlier.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, that's right. Well, I do already use one,
- 41:30Speaker 1: so technically I only have two. Jules, have you done
- 41:33Speaker 1: anything yet? I went from Mbumo to Rogers, though, as
- 41:39Speaker 1: I said, I panicked into it because I saw Rodgers
- 41:41Speaker 1: was going up. I was annoyed because I missed the
- 41:43Speaker 1: Maguire price. Yes. And I realized that I'd missed Maguire's
- 41:47Speaker 1: drop the night before and I was annoyed about that.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And I missed Rodon's drop as well, which I just thought,
- 41:52Speaker 1: I know he was injured, but I just thought that
- 41:53Speaker 1: we had a little bit longer to sort both of
- 41:55Speaker 1: those things out, to be honest. So I was like,
- 41:56Speaker 1: I can't miss a Rodgers rise. Otherwise I'm 0.3 down,
- 42:00Speaker 1: so to speak. So yeah, I panicked and didn't promote
- 42:03Speaker 1: to Rodgers. So all week I've been going, should I
- 42:05Speaker 1: have done Bruno?
- 42:06Speaker 3: No.
- 42:06Speaker 1: But you guys have made me feel better about that
- 42:08Speaker 1: than I shouldn't have. So that's what I've done. I
- 42:11Speaker 1: probably will make a defensive change as well. I haven't
- 42:14Speaker 1: done it yet. Yeah, I don't know. I won't go
- 42:18Speaker 1: into my defensive dilemmas. It's boring. But yeah, I might
- 42:21Speaker 1: do a defender. George, you haven't done anything. Are you
- 42:23Speaker 1: going to?
- 42:24Speaker 2: Not yet.
- 42:24Speaker 4: But the three that I have planned so far is
- 42:28Speaker 4: Konza for Robertson.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. Konza for Robertson. He's useless. One
- 42:34Speaker 2: point again this week. I'm sorry, Sam.
- 42:36Speaker 1: We kept a clean sheet.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but not him.
- 42:38Speaker 1: You didn't start. Your doggy's back now. You've got an issue.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I know I've got an issue. Rogers for Mbomo. I
- 42:43Speaker 2: agree with you, Kels.
- 42:44Speaker 4: I think it's not that I love Bruno that much
- 42:47Speaker 4: this season yet, but I think you have to keep
- 42:51Speaker 4: him if you have him already. And then that still
- 42:53Speaker 4: leaves me enough money to go from Roby, who didn't
- 42:58Speaker 4: work out.
- 42:58Speaker 2: You know, I tried.
- 42:59Speaker 4: He had two good fixtures to start. Now he's got
- 43:01Speaker 4: two difficult fixtures starting with Arsenal at the weekend. So
- 43:04Speaker 4: I'm tempted to go from Broby to Wissam. And that
- 43:06Speaker 4: would be, so my new three players would be Konca, Rodgers, Wissam,
- 43:09Speaker 4: which I think it looks decent.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Nice upgrade, isn't it? Sam, what about you? Okay, so
- 43:15Speaker 1: here comes the story of Woe.
- 43:17Speaker 3: So I knew Roden was going to take a price
- 43:19Speaker 3: drop and I decided I'd just ride through it because
- 43:21Speaker 3: I wanted to watch the game with Arsenal on Sunday.
- 43:23Speaker 1: So I was like, I'm going to deal with that.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Worst case scenario here is I sell Roden for the
- 43:27Speaker 3: same price I buy Konca for and I do it
- 43:29Speaker 3: after the game. And then I was like, but actually
- 43:31Speaker 3: I don't really want to do anything because it's Champions
- 43:33Speaker 3: League week and I would far rather get through the
- 43:36Speaker 3: League Cup and the Champions League and everything else. And
- 43:38Speaker 3: I'm at the point in my season where, yes, I
- 43:41Speaker 3: value the 0.1 here or there, but I value the
- 43:45Speaker 3: information more because if I get on the right player,
- 43:48Speaker 3: even if I pay 0.1 more for them, I'm likely
- 43:50Speaker 3: to gain more in value over the coming weeks.
- 43:53Speaker 2: So yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 3: I decided to just leave Rodenwell alone. And on Sunday night,
- 43:57Speaker 3: I did my live stream that I always do on
- 43:59Speaker 3: a Sunday evening and decided I was going to just
- 44:01Speaker 3: do the Mbermo to Rogers transfer. Except I didn't know
- 44:07Speaker 3: what time it was and I went to do it.
- 44:09Speaker 3: And as I did it, it hit midnight. And of
- 44:11Speaker 3: course the game locks at midnight to do the price changes.
- 44:15Speaker 3: So it wouldn't go through. And I was like, I
- 44:16Speaker 3: don't understand what's happened. And then I realized it was
- 44:19Speaker 3: one minute past midnight. So I missed the price.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:21Speaker 3: So as a minute, as in for now, I haven't
- 44:23Speaker 3: actually done anything, but my plan transfers because I'm going
- 44:26Speaker 3: to wait for Manchester United to play tonight, just in
- 44:29Speaker 3: case something bad happens.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Hopefully it won't.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Um, but my plan transfers are to do Ember motor
- 44:35Speaker 3: Rogers and road into Konza and I'll keep one.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Okay. Nice. Yeah. It's very similar to what I'm going
- 44:42Speaker 1: to do, although I might do McGuire down to Konza
- 44:44Speaker 1: just to get a bit more money in the bank, really,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I think. Um, But equally, probably having a playing defender
- 44:49Speaker 1: on your bench is smarter. I'll see how I feel.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I'll see how I feel. Captain C, it's just Chelsea,
- 44:54Speaker 1: isn't it? It's just which Chelsea attacker you go for?
- 44:57Speaker 2: Are we all going to.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Oh, do you not think? Who are you going to go, Sam?
- 45:01Speaker 3: I don't think it is all Chelsea. I think you
- 45:04Speaker 3: have to look at Haaland, don't you? Because he's got
- 45:06Speaker 3: a really fantastic record against Manchester United. So average is
- 45:10Speaker 3: 10 points per game against them. Eight goals, three assists.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Don't scare me into being a sheep and captaining Haaland.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Can you rule him out? I think you're right.
- 45:19Speaker 3: I think Chelsea are the way to go, but I
- 45:21Speaker 3: don't think we can just rule Haaland out of the conversation.
- 45:24Speaker 1: But are you going to captain? Who are you going
- 45:26Speaker 1: to captain?
- 45:29Speaker 3: Me?
- 45:29Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know yet. But I think
- 45:31Speaker 2: Haaland is a good shout.
- 45:32Speaker 4: But you look at those Chelsea fixtures now, if you
- 45:35Speaker 4: have Rodgers or Palmer or Joe Pedro, I guess.
- 45:38Speaker 1: The fear as well is if you've not got... You
- 45:40Speaker 1: might get the wrong Chelsea player. Yeah, that's what I
- 45:42Speaker 1: was going to say. If you've not got Palmer... Yeah,
- 45:44Speaker 1: of course. And you go for a Rodgers and all... Yeah,
- 45:47Speaker 1: I do take your point with that. I really thought
- 45:49Speaker 1: I was set on my Rodgers captain. Rodgers captain over
- 45:53Speaker 1: Jal Pedro? I just got so excited that I brought
- 45:55Speaker 1: him in. He's English as well, Sam. Come on, you
- 45:57Speaker 1: know what I'm like. Oh, yeah, of course.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you love English. You do.
- 46:00Speaker 3: It's difficult because you could get the wrong one. And
- 46:02Speaker 3: that's where my issue is. So I'm going to have
- 46:03Speaker 3: Jal Pedro and Rodgers... I think it's quite hard to
- 46:06Speaker 3: decide whether you're Captain Jal Pedro or Rodgers because obviously
- 46:08Speaker 3: I'd expect Rodgers.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Pedro's more sensible, I'll give you that. Pedro's more sensible, possibly, maybe.
- 46:14Speaker 3: He's going to be more likely to score goals, but
- 46:16Speaker 3: Rodgers has got the extra points for scoring goals and
- 46:18Speaker 3: all of that stuff because he's a midfielder and a
- 46:20Speaker 3: clean sheet point should they get a clean sheet against Hull. Plus,
- 46:23Speaker 3: you know, Hull have actually been riding their luck, yes,
- 46:26Speaker 3: but three clean sheets on the bounce. So we'll see
- 46:29Speaker 3: how that pans out. But then there's Harlan who, like,
- 46:32Speaker 3: if you're going to captain at Manchester City, you captain Harlan.
- 46:34Speaker 3: because it's harlan so that's where i'm struggling because every
- 46:38Speaker 3: part of me wants to hand al pedro the armband
- 46:40Speaker 3: this week but harlan just sits there going but look
- 46:44Speaker 3: at my record against manchester.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna captain harland aren't i you're gonna captain.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Yeah i think so i think so too ah i
- 46:52Speaker 2: think it's this is.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Why i hate this podcast right in on that note
- 46:55Speaker 1: i don't hate this podcast guys i hate myself for
- 46:58Speaker 1: being so easily swung we've seen it For years now.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I'm going to blame you all. This is the reason
- 47:02Speaker 1: I'm not as good an FPL manager as I could
- 47:03Speaker 1: be if I didn't do this show. And I'm definitely
- 47:06Speaker 1: going to change my mind because I've got the fantasy
- 47:08Speaker 1: show on Friday that will be available on the Premier
- 47:09Speaker 1: League website app. And wherever you're watching around the world,
- 47:12Speaker 1: where it's usually out, it will be out. And whoever
- 47:14Speaker 1: is on that with me this week is no doubt
- 47:16Speaker 1: going to persuade me that Haaland's the obvious as well.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I'm going to get so many more Haaland stats rammed
- 47:19Speaker 1: down my throat. They'll persuade you it's something else. It's
- 47:21Speaker 1: not Haaland at all. Morgan Rodgers, look forward to being
- 47:24Speaker 1: my vice-captain is all I'm going to say. And a
- 47:26Speaker 1: reminder then, there's no lunchtime kick-off on Saturday. It's a
- 47:29Speaker 1: later deadline, 1.30pm ahead of the 5.00pm kick-off between Villa, Forest,
- 47:33Speaker 1: Bournemouth and Brentford, Chelsea, Hull, Palace, Nipswich and Liverpool and Fulham.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Good luck with all your transfers and everything, guys.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Bye.
