- 2:56Speaker 4: put her the week. Angie, good morning and welcome to
- 2:58Speaker 4: the show.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I'm happy to be here all right.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Before we get into it, I got to give you
- 3:03Speaker 4: fair warning. My man Steve Animal from our sister station
- 3:06Speaker 4: ninety eight seven the Month and Wild Wonderful Classic Rock,
- 3:09Speaker 4: walked into the studio this morning and said, I want
- 3:12Speaker 4: to send in on this segment. So I hope that's
- 3:14Speaker 4: okay with you.
- 3:15Speaker 5: That's absolutely okay.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Now, are you going to do what you've done when
- 3:19Speaker 4: I've had other people on the show and go fangirl
- 3:21Speaker 4: here and just say like you did when I had
- 3:23Speaker 4: Coach Kid on the show, going, Oh, it's like I
- 3:25Speaker 4: listened to it growing up? Are you gonna do that
- 3:27Speaker 4: about Steve Anne? You probably didn't. Your mother may have,
- 3:30Speaker 4: but I don't think. I doubt very seriously you listened
- 3:33Speaker 4: to Steve Animal growing up.
- 3:35Speaker 5: I guess we'll see how this goes and that'll answer
- 3:38Speaker 5: it for you.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I will bring you over to my side.
- 3:42Speaker 4: All right, Let's get to our adopt me please better
- 3:44Speaker 4: the week We have a cat this week now. The
- 3:46Speaker 4: picture's posted as always at Dave Allen Radio on Facebook
- 3:49Speaker 4: and also the WCCHS Network Facebook page and at Dave
- 3:52Speaker 4: A seventy on x tell us about the cat known
- 3:56Speaker 4: as Duckling.
- 3:59Speaker 5: So Duckley is. She just came to the case cha
- 4:02Speaker 5: as astray. She's about a year old, already stayed, already vaccinated,
- 4:07Speaker 5: ready to roll if she gets adopted, but she is
- 4:10Speaker 5: so incredibly stressed. That's the shelter, which is one reason
- 4:13Speaker 5: I wanted to give her a little extra spotlight. She
- 4:16Speaker 5: doesn't really move in her kennel. She kind of stays
- 4:19Speaker 5: in what I call a cat loaf where they tuck
- 4:21Speaker 5: their feet underneath them, but she stays put. She has
- 4:24Speaker 5: to be pretty much hand fed, her water has to
- 4:27Speaker 5: be put right in front of her. And that is
- 4:29Speaker 5: all due to stress and not wanting to move. So
- 4:34Speaker 5: I want somebody out there to please consider duckling. It's
- 4:37Speaker 5: literally breaking my heart every day to see her in
- 4:39Speaker 5: the same exact spot and not moving. And we are
- 4:43Speaker 5: very confident that once she gets out of a shelter
- 4:45Speaker 5: setting that she will have the you know, she will
- 4:48Speaker 5: move and she will be more comfortable to eat on
- 4:50Speaker 5: her own and you know, explore things rather than staying
- 4:53Speaker 5: in the same spot.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Okay, and now we do think though that this is
- 4:57Speaker 4: stress related to not in medical can I guess stress
- 5:00Speaker 4: is a medical condition, but you know, but there's not
- 5:02Speaker 4: something else wrong with her right.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Absolutely, so we actually have our Vattene has looked at
- 5:08Speaker 5: her to make sure that there's nothing medical going on.
- 5:12Speaker 5: It does look like she had an old injury to
- 5:15Speaker 5: her leg in an area, but we have seen her
- 5:17Speaker 5: walk when her stress levels are lower. There's this very
- 5:21Speaker 5: magical tool called feel Away. You spray it and it
- 5:24Speaker 5: just it brings stress levels down for cats, kind of
- 5:27Speaker 5: like liquid cat in a way.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Excellent. Could you bring me some please, so I.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Spray it all over my desk.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Don't work, I'd spray it all over me.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And again you've got the picture. I have the picture
- 5:39Speaker 4: posted to Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and also the
- 5:41Speaker 4: WHS network Facebook page and also at Dave seventy on
- 5:45Speaker 4: X if you want to go over and see what
- 5:46Speaker 4: Duckling looks like. And the reason that Steve is in
- 5:50Speaker 4: here today is he still you know, we're we're all
- 5:53Speaker 4: still kind of obsessed because we want the right thing
- 5:56Speaker 4: to be done with this case of the dog known
- 5:58Speaker 4: as Stubbs. This was a dog who we know was
- 6:01Speaker 4: shot twice, thrown from a car. You guys were attempting
- 6:05Speaker 4: to do a surgical procedure, but you had to had
- 6:07Speaker 4: to stop that because, as you said, Stubb's body just
- 6:10Speaker 4: gave out and had to be euthanized. Had you on
- 6:14Speaker 4: the show a couple of days ago, any any leads
- 6:16Speaker 4: and he breaks anything going on with this right now.
- 6:20Speaker 5: So I actually did get a little bit of information
- 6:22Speaker 5: yesterday from Stubbs's potential owner who has been missing him
- 6:27Speaker 5: since last summer. Somebody had stolen Stubbs from her and
- 6:31Speaker 5: she had seen him posted on social media several times
- 6:35Speaker 5: and attempted to you know, track him down, follow the
- 6:37Speaker 5: paper trail to get him, and every single time she
- 6:40Speaker 5: just met was met with dead ends. So we are
- 6:44Speaker 5: she's you know, working with us. We're working with her
- 6:47Speaker 5: to number one, verify that this is possibly her dog,
- 6:51Speaker 5: and number two, uh, you know, follow her trail of
- 6:54Speaker 5: you know where the him being shot in the head
- 6:58Speaker 5: and him being tossed out of a car where that
- 7:01Speaker 5: occurred on the timeline of people that have had him. So, uh,
- 7:05Speaker 5: there is a small update. It's probably not the one
- 7:08Speaker 5: that you know, everyone wants to hear, but it's it's
- 7:11Speaker 5: something which is more than I had on Wednesday.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Well, and I don't want to give away too much
- 7:16Speaker 4: here because it was certainly the last thing. We want
- 7:17Speaker 4: people brought to justice, and we don't want to do
- 7:19Speaker 4: anything that's going to impede an investigation. But are you
- 7:22Speaker 4: and if you're not, that's fine. Are you at liberty
- 7:24Speaker 4: to say what area of Kanaw County or that this was?
- 7:28Speaker 4: And if not, I understand, But are you liberty to
- 7:30Speaker 4: say that?
- 7:32Speaker 6: So?
- 7:32Speaker 5: I just I don't want to give too much. And
- 7:34Speaker 5: jeopards Any got it.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Completely understood. Well, I mean, if this person's story checks out,
- 7:43Speaker 4: which hopefully, I mean, I don't know where we're going
- 7:46Speaker 4: to go from here, but I mean, as you said,
- 7:48Speaker 4: it's it's more than you had when you were on
- 7:49Speaker 4: the show forty eight hours ago.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 7: The thing about this dog too, I mean, this is
- 7:53Speaker 7: a dog, a very unique dog, cute. You know somebody
- 7:57Speaker 7: has seen this dog with somebody before, So somebody needs
- 8:02Speaker 7: to come forward. You know, we have to be the
- 8:04Speaker 7: voice for the voiceless, and justice definitely needs to happen here.
- 8:10Speaker 7: This person needs to be found. I mean, he should
- 8:12Speaker 7: not be walking amongst us at all and needs to
- 8:17Speaker 7: You know, you can't really pay or bring him back,
- 8:20Speaker 7: but you know, this person does not need to be
- 8:23Speaker 7: caring for obviously barely care for himself, and you know
- 8:27Speaker 7: this dog may have just you know, unfortunately pete on
- 8:31Speaker 7: the floor scratched something. And you know, people you know
- 8:35Speaker 7: need help. And this person though, definitely needs to be
- 8:40Speaker 7: recognized for his work publicly.
- 8:43Speaker 4: And this is Steve's calls, by the way, just so
- 8:46Speaker 4: you know, and in his mind too. But I mean,
- 8:48Speaker 4: Steve wants to take it to a whole other level here,
- 8:50Speaker 4: and I don't want to get both of us fired
- 8:52Speaker 4: or us behind the other bars.
- 8:53Speaker 2: But there's time just wait.
- 8:56Speaker 7: But yes, so I'm going to continue to bite my
- 8:59Speaker 7: tongue for a few more days and hopefully you will
- 9:01Speaker 7: keep us updated and hopefully Charleston p D Will be
- 9:04Speaker 7: able to make some headway in finding the person that
- 9:07Speaker 7: did this to this sweet dog that did not deserve to.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Die this way.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Absolutely, and I hope Stubbs kind of shines a new
- 9:16Speaker 5: light on what a lot of animals in not just
- 9:19Speaker 5: West Virginia but across the nation are facing and kind
- 9:23Speaker 5: of inspires a lot of people to demand essentially stricter
- 9:27Speaker 5: animal cruelty laws. So that's if anything good can come
- 9:32Speaker 5: out of this, I hope that that's.
- 9:33Speaker 7: One thing that can. Yeah, because I mean and a
- 9:37Speaker 7: person who does something like this obviously has a violent
- 9:42Speaker 7: thread in its personality. So whether it's domestic violence, maybe
- 9:47Speaker 7: this person is violent in general or just like you know,
- 9:51Speaker 7: he might be the annoying neighbor who had this dog.
- 9:53Speaker 7: But this dog is unique. W was a unique looking dog.
- 9:57Speaker 7: So somebody has seen this dog with somebody in an
- 9:59Speaker 7: unfortun he was trapped with that person.
- 10:02Speaker 4: So yeah, we had a text here with somebody asking
- 10:05Speaker 4: did someone actually see the dog get shot and thrown
- 10:07Speaker 4: from a car. That's what the person who brought the
- 10:10Speaker 4: dog to the shelter said, right, Yes.
- 10:12Speaker 5: The person that brought Stubs to the shelter when he
- 10:17Speaker 5: first arrived on Sunday had told us that the person,
- 10:21Speaker 5: if you missed it on Wednesday, the person had left
- 10:24Speaker 5: before any of our staff could get Stubs over to
- 10:27Speaker 5: our medical department, get him stabilized and come back and
- 10:29Speaker 5: ask more questions. The person had left, and you know,
- 10:33Speaker 5: that may be that they didn't know they had to say.
- 10:35Speaker 5: They thought they were done, they thought they did their part,
- 10:38Speaker 5: which you know, thank you for getting them to us. However,
- 10:41Speaker 5: so we didn't don't have a lot of information. We're
- 10:43Speaker 5: assuming that the person saw that happen, and that's how
- 10:46Speaker 5: they know. But they could have saw, you know, that
- 10:48Speaker 5: this dog had bullet wounds, like, oh, this dog's been shot.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Here you go like help him.
- 10:52Speaker 4: So but the dog definitely was in your medical I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 4: your your crew that looked at and the dog definitely
- 10:58Speaker 4: was shot though we know that right.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Yes, there were bullet holes and bullet fragments inside the dog,
- 11:04Speaker 5: and he also again had a lot of bruising on
- 11:07Speaker 5: his stomach that indicated that he was hit by a
- 11:09Speaker 5: car rather than like, that's not an injury consistent with
- 11:13Speaker 5: being passed from a lot.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Okay, so more likely hit by a car. Okay, all right,
- 11:18Speaker 4: And again I guess one of my big takeaway from
- 11:20Speaker 4: the story was as tragic as it was, and this
- 11:23Speaker 4: is what I just can't get out of my head, Angie,
- 11:25Speaker 4: is you told me that even before the medical procedure
- 11:31Speaker 4: that your team attempted to do on the dog, the
- 11:34Speaker 4: dog was still a very loving dog who just wanted
- 11:38Speaker 4: his belly rubbed, you know. I mean, he had every
- 11:42Speaker 4: right in the world to bite anything that came close
- 11:44Speaker 4: to him, and even in the last twenty four hours
- 11:46Speaker 4: of his life, he was still wanting the love and
- 11:50Speaker 4: companionship of humans.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Absolutely, even with bruses covering his entire stomach area, he
- 11:57Speaker 5: still was rolling over for Rachel who was helping him
- 12:00Speaker 5: on Sunday, and she's been on the show before, but
- 12:03Speaker 5: he was still rolling over wanting Rachel to just put
- 12:05Speaker 5: him in love on him. So that just tells you
- 12:08Speaker 5: anything you need to know about why you should love
- 12:10Speaker 5: dogs and appreciate dogs.
- 12:12Speaker 7: And most of them are like that. You know, if
- 12:14Speaker 7: you train the dog or any pet to be a
- 12:17Speaker 7: good pet, it's going to be actually a fabulous pet.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So there's just no reason for this.
- 12:23Speaker 4: And the Texas says, has there ever been in a
- 12:24Speaker 4: discussion with the legislature to have possibly several state facilities
- 12:28Speaker 4: or vets for special causes such as severe abuse and
- 12:31Speaker 4: neglect cases. Something's got to change because you guys, I mean,
- 12:34Speaker 4: you guys do a fantastic job up there in my
- 12:37Speaker 4: opinion of the other shelters do as well. But you
- 12:40Speaker 4: know you sometimes and again don't take this the wrong way,
- 12:43Speaker 4: but you know you've got how many animals up there
- 12:45Speaker 4: right now and you're trying to treat all of them.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I think what the texture is trying to say is,
- 12:49Speaker 4: maybe if there would be some sort of facility that
- 12:51Speaker 4: just specialized in these severe cases like that, it probably
- 12:54Speaker 4: would be helpful to everyone and everything involved here. Angie.
- 12:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree with that. And in a way, we
- 13:02Speaker 5: kind of have a system set up like that where
- 13:05Speaker 5: the severe cruelty and neglect cases are going to our
- 13:09Speaker 5: medical department and receiving like full in depth examinations for
- 13:14Speaker 5: you know, should a court date come to serve as evidence,
- 13:18Speaker 5: and they are you know, kind of specialized in in
- 13:22Speaker 5: our care in a way to you know, help help
- 13:25Speaker 5: repair these dogs or cats that you know, we didn't break,
- 13:28Speaker 5: but we're we're helping to repair them. So in a way,
- 13:32Speaker 5: we are doing that. But I see what that person
- 13:35Speaker 5: is saying, and I would I would one hundred percent agree.
- 13:37Speaker 4: And another check says we need several billboards rented with
- 13:41Speaker 4: justice for Stubbs and put his picture on there as
- 13:43Speaker 4: well as to hopefully bring some light to the issue. So,
- 13:47Speaker 4: I mean, I know people in the billboard business, but
- 13:51Speaker 4: somebody's gonna have to come forward, uh with a little
- 13:53Speaker 4: little cash, and I know I know a guy.
- 13:56Speaker 7: Actually, I'm beyond pissed, so I've just been holding it back.
- 14:00Speaker 8: Act.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But yeah, this this thing needs to be brought to justice. Period.
- 14:07Speaker 7: It's just unacceptable and it seems to be like a
- 14:10Speaker 7: lot of people think, oh, you know, this has been
- 14:12Speaker 7: done from you know, one generation to the next. It's
- 14:15Speaker 7: not okay. It needs to stop it. And I think
- 14:19Speaker 7: we're going to start here.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I mean tell you you know, animals, not just in
- 14:25Speaker 4: his name, I mean, he's all he's all about this time.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I'm all in.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Hey, before we let you go, I did have a
- 14:32Speaker 4: text to the show yesterday, Angie. Somebody wanted me to
- 14:34Speaker 4: ask you that there are any West Virginia dogs in
- 14:36Speaker 4: the Puppy Bowl this year.
- 14:39Speaker 5: So we don't have any friends in the Puppy Bowl
- 14:41Speaker 5: this year. However, hopefully there is some exciting news that
- 14:46Speaker 5: I can share very very soon. There's definitely exciting news.
- 14:48Speaker 5: I just don't know if I can share it soon
- 14:50Speaker 5: or I got but stay tuned. There's two really big
- 14:55Speaker 5: and fun announcements that I literally am bursting at the
- 14:58Speaker 5: things to talk about.
- 15:00Speaker 4: We'll look forward to that, Angie. Hey, you guys. I
- 15:02Speaker 4: know the weather's been rough on you guys, just like
- 15:04Speaker 4: it has on everybody else. But it looks like it's
- 15:06Speaker 4: finally going a break By next week once we get
- 15:09Speaker 4: through today anyway, today and early tomorrow. So I appreciate
- 15:12Speaker 4: you being here, keep us updated on stubs. We'll talk soon.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Thanks a lot, absolutely, thank you.
- 15:17Speaker 4: All right, So again our dog this week. I'm sorry
- 15:20Speaker 4: our cat. I'm just so used to have a dog
- 15:21Speaker 4: cat our DoPT me. Please put it. The week's name
- 15:23Speaker 4: is Duckling. Picture posted Dave Allen Radio on Facebook or
- 15:27Speaker 4: at Dave A seventy on exel So the WCCHS network
- 15:29Speaker 4: Facebook page if you want to see the cat we're
- 15:31Speaker 4: talking about. Duckling, female one year old spade vaccinated, incredibly
- 15:38Speaker 4: stressed out by the shelter, and we're trying our best
- 15:41Speaker 4: to try to get this to get this cat a home, Steve,
- 15:44Speaker 4: because this is a this is a cat that is
- 15:46Speaker 4: not doing well in a stressed environment and would do
- 15:49Speaker 4: just fine from what Angie says, if she were out
- 15:51Speaker 4: of that environment.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Most of them do. I mean, nobody obviously wants to
- 15:55Speaker 7: be in a cage. And then you get the extra
- 15:57Speaker 7: noise and the dog's barking and the star people coming by,
- 16:01Speaker 7: and it's a lot. My wife and I we've actually
- 16:04Speaker 7: adopted quite a few senior dogs from the shelter and yeah,
- 16:09Speaker 7: I mean they're they're kind of shut down. So once
- 16:11Speaker 7: you get them out, though, they personalities are back and
- 16:14Speaker 7: it's like, hey, I'm free, you know, like everybody wants
- 16:17Speaker 7: to be, so all.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Right, Steve Animal Sister Station ninety eight seven, Amount of
- 16:21Speaker 4: Wild a wonderful classic rock, carry on, well, thank you,
- 16:25Speaker 4: carry on my way.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So I am very comfortable.
- 16:28Speaker 7: But yeah, Stubby, I have an eight x ten glossy
- 16:32Speaker 7: of him in the Mountain studio right now. But really yes,
- 16:36Speaker 7: because like I said, he needs a voice. Like this
- 16:40Speaker 7: is completely and totally unacceptable of any behavior from anyone,
- 16:46Speaker 7: you know, years of you know, it's like you know,
- 16:48Speaker 7: through the years you hear of domestic violence.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You know the same thing.
- 16:51Speaker 7: It's a human, is an animal, an animal, you know,
- 16:55Speaker 7: decide whether it's a dog, cat or whatever. It's a
- 16:58Speaker 7: living thing. And it did not to be treated this poorly. Unbelievable, unacceptable,
- 17:05Speaker 7: and this person needs to either come forward, stop being
- 17:09Speaker 7: a crap bag you happen to be listening this morning,
- 17:11Speaker 7: and turn yourself in.
- 17:12Speaker 4: And Steve Animal is determined to find you.
- 17:14Speaker 8: I am.
- 17:15Speaker 7: Actually it's just calls right now, I am. You know
- 17:18Speaker 7: the billboard thing that you know. Hey, you know, get
- 17:22Speaker 7: a hold of Brian nost Over at the.
- 17:26Speaker 4: I know a guy, I know a guy and and
- 17:28Speaker 4: I know two of them in this studio. Yes, So

- 20:08Speaker 2: Steve c did something to this headset and he needs
- 20:11Speaker 2: to come back and he fixed it. Steve. This is
- 20:15Speaker 2: why I'm like panicking right now.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Well, you really don't need that.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I know I don't, but I feel more official.
- 20:21Speaker 4: I have them on all right, Well a animal.
- 20:24Speaker 2: It's fine. He doesn't have to come.
- 20:25Speaker 4: You've messed up the headphones. I'm just giving him hard
- 20:29Speaker 4: time on man, what did you do? What did you
- 20:31Speaker 4: do to these headphones?
- 20:32Speaker 2: Actually I was going to touch those? Did you not
- 20:35Speaker 2: use them?
- 20:36Speaker 5: Oh?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Never mind? See I can't even blame him for it. Sorry.
- 20:40Speaker 4: He walks around with his headphones around his neck, unaware
- 20:42Speaker 4: that they're not even plugged into.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And he's going to.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Say, you know, you have a set on your neck right,
- 20:50Speaker 4: just in case in the car, just in case a
- 20:51Speaker 4: radio brought just happened before bed?
- 20:53Speaker 2: Any time? Good for you?
- 20:55Speaker 13: All right?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Would you like to no, no, no, no, I appreciate
- 20:59Speaker 2: you that I appreciate you always.
- 21:01Speaker 4: As my grandmother used to say about me, that boy
- 21:04Speaker 4: could tear up an bull with a rubber mallet. Good morning,
- 21:10Speaker 4: Rick Cavaner, Charleston Irber Works is here. We'll get to
- 21:12Speaker 4: suburban works, so if here momentarily. But of course you
- 21:14Speaker 4: are also the president of the Canawha County Board of Yes,
- 21:19Speaker 4: and it's been rough. It's been rough on the children's
- 21:23Speaker 4: and more importantly on the parents.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Well for me, it's where I am in the role
- 21:28Speaker 3: of president of the school board and my children, my
- 21:30Speaker 3: sons still think that I have this crazy power that
- 21:32Speaker 3: I don't have. They'll text me every day cancel school, Dad,
- 21:36Speaker 3: cancel school. That's not how that works.
- 21:37Speaker 4: But yeah, sorry, yeah, because if you could do that,
- 21:40Speaker 4: you probably send them to school and cancel for everybody. Absolutely,
- 21:45Speaker 4: So remote learning day, I think, yes, what it was
- 21:48Speaker 4: was today, And I interviewed to Perintendent Paul Paul Potter
- 21:51Speaker 4: a couple of weeks ago on the show, and she
- 21:52Speaker 4: talked about the you know, it's very difficult, you know,
- 21:55Speaker 4: trying to make those decisions because unfortunately, Knawa County is
- 21:59Speaker 4: a big and you know, and what's happening in Tornado
- 22:03Speaker 4: is not always what it's happening in downtown Charleston or
- 22:07Speaker 4: Elk View or wherever the case may be. So it's
- 22:10Speaker 4: it's rough when those decisions have to be made. And
- 22:12Speaker 4: now or to the point now when you look at
- 22:15Speaker 4: these remote learning days, I mean the county's out of
- 22:18Speaker 4: snow days, is that right? I mean there are no
- 22:20Speaker 4: more there are So if we get and we're not
- 22:22Speaker 4: going to get it with this, by the way, but
- 22:24Speaker 4: if later we have had some pretty big snowstorms in
- 22:26Speaker 4: March short April, if we get a big snowstorm, a
- 22:30Speaker 4: twenty inch snowstorm, which we're not getting, by the way,
- 22:33Speaker 4: but if we've got something like that, no more snow days,
- 22:35Speaker 4: that's an accounty.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Yeah, then it becomes well, you will have the snow day,
- 22:39Speaker 3: but we tackle on a day at the end of
- 22:41Speaker 3: the okay.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah everyone. So I mean, so that's where we
- 22:44Speaker 4: are right now.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah, which is why I think I read the legislature
- 22:48Speaker 3: was considering maybe extending the number of NTID days non
- 22:52Speaker 3: traditional instructional days that we get, maybe.
- 22:55Speaker 2: To alleviate some of that. But I don't know where
- 22:57Speaker 2: that bill is at all, so I'm not sure.
- 22:58Speaker 4: But now, how do those generally speaking war as far
- 23:02Speaker 4: as the anti I mean that they log in because
- 23:04Speaker 4: you're a parent, so yeah, got you've got specially you've
- 23:07Speaker 4: got you know, a little bit more knowledge and explain
- 23:09Speaker 4: to the people how they work.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Well, it is it is quite you know, in fact,
- 23:13Speaker 3: it's virtual learning, right, So they they log in, they
- 23:16Speaker 3: communicate with their teachers, they they complete assignments. You know,
- 23:20Speaker 3: they're they're able to keep up with their work.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Look with their.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Assignments, and I get behind. But I mean, let's face it,
- 23:26Speaker 3: it's it's it's not you can't compare it to in
- 23:29Speaker 3: person person talking.
- 23:31Speaker 4: With deligate Andy Shamblin who's also a teacher, who said
- 23:34Speaker 4: that exact same thing. There's no substitute for a child.
- 23:37Speaker 4: And he's also he's a teacher and a legislator. He said,
- 23:40Speaker 4: there's no substitute for a kid actually being in a classroom.
- 23:43Speaker 4: That's right, and and we well, we saw that with COVID.
- 23:46Speaker 4: That's why COVID did such a number on our students
- 23:49Speaker 4: and teachers because they were remote learning for a very
- 23:52Speaker 4: long time. And I think it's still having an impact
- 23:55Speaker 4: because it's just not the same, right, It's just not
- 23:57Speaker 4: the same at all. And it's not it's not just
- 24:00Speaker 4: the importance of the social aspects of the child being
- 24:03Speaker 4: in school with their friends and you know, with their peers,
- 24:06Speaker 4: but it's also the impact that in person learning, just
- 24:10Speaker 4: as a teacher to the student has and and it's
- 24:14Speaker 4: just it's it's not comparable.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So I'm hoping that we don't have to experience this
- 24:18Speaker 2: anymore this year.
- 24:19Speaker 4: I'm talking to Rick Cavator again from the Canon County
- 24:21Speaker 4: Board of Education. Uh, you're ready to switch gears and
- 24:24Speaker 4: become Charleston Urban Works.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Whatever you're ready, man, I'm I can talk all morning.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Have you like moved on over into the other.
- 24:29Speaker 2: So now I'll find another set of headset.
- 24:31Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Yeah, so that the Steve animal hasn't broken, Ye'll put
- 24:33Speaker 4: you in another chair over there, Charleston Urban Works, let's
- 24:36Speaker 4: get to that. So I had counselman Chad Robinson on
- 24:40Speaker 4: the show just a couple of days ago, who serves
- 24:42Speaker 4: the Kano City area. There's a lot lot of good stuff. Yeah,
- 24:46Speaker 4: going on.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We're really excited about talk.
- 24:47Speaker 4: About some of that Kanos City stuff.
- 24:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Well, and you mentioned counselman Robinson.
- 24:51Speaker 3: I mean, you know, he and counselmen King were very
- 24:53Speaker 3: instrumental when getting our organizational expansion completed. You know, we
- 24:59Speaker 3: we through a process with Mayor Goodwin and her administration
- 25:02Speaker 3: and Councilman Robin and Robinson and King rather to create
- 25:07Speaker 3: this expansion where we and I've been on before to
- 25:10Speaker 3: talk about this, but we effectively just took the infrastructure
- 25:13Speaker 3: that we already have in places an organization and just
- 25:15Speaker 3: expanded it into the Kanall City Business District. And when
- 25:19Speaker 3: I say that that's a very long business district, it's
- 25:21Speaker 3: most of mccorkory Avenue over there. And we spent the
- 25:25Speaker 3: fren We hired our director of Outreach and engagement Shannon Polly,
- 25:29Speaker 3: she's absolutely wonderful.
- 25:30Speaker 2: She's done a great job and she immediately.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Got to work with a working group that we put
- 25:34Speaker 3: together comprised of of civic leaders, so Chad and Bruce,
- 25:38Speaker 3: of course, city department officials, business owners and Kanall City
- 25:43Speaker 3: property owners in Kana City marketing professionals, and we developed
- 25:46Speaker 3: a year long project project plan and during our Village
- 25:49Speaker 3: after Hours we hosted a couple of weeks ago over
- 25:52Speaker 3: at Tim Hogan's design Gallery, we unveiled those project plans
- 25:55Speaker 3: to let the public know really what we're going to
- 25:58Speaker 3: be up to for the next year and base on
- 26:00Speaker 3: the needs of the district. And we gather those needs
- 26:03Speaker 3: to some surveys and through hearing directly from our working
- 26:05Speaker 3: group members, we developed that project plan. So we're talking about,
- 26:09Speaker 3: you know, at the very top is how do we
- 26:11Speaker 3: tackle commercial vacancy reduction? And that's not just for Kanall City,
- 26:14Speaker 3: that's for all three of our districts, West Side, East
- 26:16Speaker 3: End and Kanall City. So what strategies are we going
- 26:19Speaker 3: to have in place to really tackle commercial vacancy reduction?
- 26:23Speaker 3: How do we better advertise properties that are that are available,
- 26:26Speaker 3: how do we assist the real estate companies if they're
- 26:30Speaker 3: advertising on behalf of a property owner or directly with
- 26:33Speaker 3: the property owner, how do we become a promotional partner
- 26:36Speaker 3: if you will for them. So that's at the very
- 26:38Speaker 3: top of our list. We're going to start hosting our
- 26:41Speaker 3: Village after hours events over there every quarter. We're the
- 26:44Speaker 3: first one. Really well, we had to think over sixty
- 26:45Speaker 3: people show up for the first one.
- 26:47Speaker 4: I was unable to attend, but I saw some of
- 26:49Speaker 4: the pictures and man, I tell you what you packed
- 26:51Speaker 4: it out of that?
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it was great.
- 26:52Speaker 3: And of course Mayor Goodwin came and spoke, and Shannon
- 26:56Speaker 3: spoke and uh, Chad Robinson spoke and we uh, you
- 26:59Speaker 3: know again let the public know that you know, this
- 27:01Speaker 3: is why we have this is why we use this process,
- 27:04Speaker 3: this is why we did this, and now this is
- 27:06Speaker 3: what we're going to be doing to shine a really
- 27:08Speaker 3: bright spotlight on all the business owners in Kanas City
- 27:11Speaker 3: and all their buildings, because you know, they have felt
- 27:13Speaker 3: pretty forgotten over the past several years for different reasons.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Of course, we don't have to get into all those,
- 27:18Speaker 3: but it's our role as an organization to not only
- 27:21Speaker 3: promote but also create a more economic, economically prosperous environment
- 27:26Speaker 3: over there.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Talking to Rick Cavner from Charleston Urban Works to Dave
- 27:29Speaker 4: Island Show and five eighty line brought to you apart
- 27:31Speaker 4: by Generations Forward of Hurricane your family and locally owned
- 27:34Speaker 4: for dealership providing customers with X planned discount pricing one
- 27:37Speaker 4: select new Ford vehicles meaning you pay when Ford suppliers pay,
- 27:40Speaker 4: and if you need service they offer customer pickup and delivery.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Check them out the day just off the Hurricane Acts
- 27:44Speaker 4: of I sixty four or online Generations Forward dot com
- 27:47Speaker 4: one destination for every generation Generation Forward see dealer for details.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Might we see at some point some act some fun
- 27:54Speaker 4: activities over there, similar to a foam with the dome
- 27:58Speaker 4: or similar to the October West, I mean, things like
- 28:03Speaker 4: that may be in the works for Kanos City.
- 28:04Speaker 2: That's a goal.
- 28:05Speaker 3: So we actually talked about that during our press conference
- 28:07Speaker 3: over there that day during the village after hours, and
- 28:11Speaker 3: the goal is to work to formulate and to plan
- 28:15Speaker 3: a large scale event over there, just like we have
- 28:17Speaker 3: in our other districts. You know, now that we have
- 28:19Speaker 3: the staff to accommodate that, we're going to be able
- 28:22Speaker 3: to tackle that. And then again that'll be based on
- 28:25Speaker 3: the ideas and the needs of the of the end users,
- 28:28Speaker 3: right the business owners over there and our working group members.
- 28:30Speaker 3: So we are going to be very in very short,
- 28:33Speaker 3: in a very short period of time having that discussion.
- 28:35Speaker 3: You know what will that large event that really helps
- 28:38Speaker 3: brand the district and brings people over there. That's what's
- 28:41Speaker 3: been so great. As you know about phone with the
- 28:42Speaker 3: Dome in October West, it serves the districts themselves because
- 28:45Speaker 3: it gets people into businesses, gets cash, registers ring and
- 28:48Speaker 3: creates that residual effect.
- 28:49Speaker 2: People will go over to.
- 28:50Speaker 3: An event for the first time that they may not
- 28:51Speaker 3: even be from Charleston, and I know a lot of
- 28:53Speaker 3: cases they're not, but they come over there and they
- 28:55Speaker 3: see you know, Kels Tavern in Elk City or Kinship
- 28:58Speaker 3: Goods or whatever the case is, and I didn't realize
- 29:00Speaker 3: this was here. I'm coming back. That's what we wanted
- 29:02Speaker 3: to see happen. We have a huge opportunity to replicate
- 29:05Speaker 3: that in Kano City. It's just going to come down
- 29:06Speaker 3: to the best location theme. You know, how large of
- 29:10Speaker 3: a scale are we talking about? You know, when as
- 29:12Speaker 3: you know, when we when we produce an event, we
- 29:13Speaker 3: want to produce it, right, and it's big, and it's
- 29:16Speaker 3: big and so and we only have so much capacity.
- 29:18Speaker 3: So now that we have that extra staff, we know
- 29:20Speaker 3: we take a lot of energy out of you're just
- 29:21Speaker 3: doing those two events that you do. Now the two
- 29:23Speaker 3: that come, I know you do a lot more than those,
- 29:25Speaker 3: but those are the two that really really those are
- 29:28Speaker 3: those are everybody they do and they're they're effectively our
- 29:31Speaker 3: main events. Now we've dropped when we when we were
- 29:34Speaker 3: structured and reorganized as an organization, we made the decision
- 29:37Speaker 3: we were not an event organization, but we understand the
- 29:39Speaker 3: importance and impact of large scale fundraising events and so
- 29:43Speaker 3: and we knew both of those are tried and true.
- 29:45Speaker 2: That's why they're that's why we kept them, if you will,
- 29:47Speaker 2: on the docket, so.
- 29:50Speaker 3: We know that's holding something of that scale and that
- 29:53Speaker 3: nature over in Kanos City is also extremely important. So
- 29:56Speaker 3: to be a matter again of time of year, scale,
- 29:58Speaker 3: what the theme will be, what the offerings will be,
- 30:01Speaker 3: how we showcase the business is the best right because
- 30:03Speaker 3: Clos City is such a large millnear business district, it's
- 30:07Speaker 3: not a traditional square urbanized district right A while there
- 30:12Speaker 3: it is, I mean so we have to figure out
- 30:14Speaker 3: how to best serve all of them. This will take
- 30:15Speaker 3: some time to figure that out, but we're we're starting
- 30:17Speaker 3: those conversations.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Just to give people an idea, and this is I'm
- 30:21Speaker 4: asking down just for a ballpark. Figure how many people,
- 30:24Speaker 4: off the top of your head attended October West last
- 30:27Speaker 4: year our phone with the dome. Just give me an approximant.
- 30:29Speaker 4: I know it's kind of hard to tell with vendors
- 30:31Speaker 4: and everything, but just to give people a scale of
- 30:34Speaker 4: how big these these two of these two events.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Are together or separately separately, so it all depends on
- 30:40Speaker 3: the year. On average, the average attendance is about fifteen
- 30:44Speaker 3: hundred per event. Sometimes it's as low as one thy
- 30:47Speaker 3: eleven hundred. We've had as much as twenty two to
- 30:49Speaker 3: twenty three hundred. It really just depends on whether when
- 30:51Speaker 3: it is, whether what else is going on in the
- 30:54Speaker 3: city or the state. We try our best to avoid
- 30:57Speaker 3: home games for both Marshall and w if we can.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Some times we can't avoid it. We also try to
- 31:03Speaker 3: make sure that we're working with our partner organizations like
- 31:05Speaker 3: Festival for instance, to make sure that if we're planning
- 31:07Speaker 3: something at the same time, we're around the same time
- 31:09Speaker 3: that we're either co promoting. We're just being very mindful
- 31:12Speaker 3: of the times of the events so people have an
- 31:13Speaker 3: opportunity to go to both or to all of them.
- 31:16Speaker 3: So a lot of factors there. So always extremely well attended.
- 31:19Speaker 3: As you know, you're you're always there, but it depends
- 31:23Speaker 3: on the year.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, all right. You and I were texting earlier
- 31:28Speaker 4: this morning about some I want to talk about Kanas City,
- 31:30Speaker 4: but you get some other things into pipeline you want
- 31:32Speaker 4: to mention.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Yes, we've been working really hard. We partner with CIRA,
- 31:36Speaker 3: the charles An Urban Renewal Authority about six months ago,
- 31:39Speaker 3: almost a year ago now when we started having these conversations.
- 31:42Speaker 3: And not to get too much into the nerdy urban
- 31:44Speaker 3: development weeds of things, but effectively, you know, KURRA, the
- 31:48Speaker 3: Urban Renewal Authority, they're required to have what they call
- 31:51Speaker 3: an urban renewal plan in place for their designated district.
- 31:54Speaker 3: So that's two different plans on the east end, one
- 31:57Speaker 3: sort of merged central down town plan that includes like
- 32:01Speaker 3: the warehouse district, and then of course there are two
- 32:02Speaker 3: plans on the west side and those have to be
- 32:05Speaker 3: official documents that are in place, the city council official
- 32:07Speaker 3: you know, will eventually approve and adopt. Well, they're in
- 32:10Speaker 3: the process right now of renewing their East End or
- 32:13Speaker 3: a renewal plan, as you and I both have talked
- 32:15Speaker 3: about several times, Dave. You know, the East End has
- 32:18Speaker 3: experienced in some way sort of a downturn as far
- 32:20Speaker 3: as loss of buildings, loss of business, and of course
- 32:24Speaker 3: the residents are concerned. We're concerned. So we had to
- 32:27Speaker 3: take a step back and say, how how do we
- 32:28Speaker 3: sort of start at square one?
- 32:30Speaker 2: Well, how do you do that?
- 32:31Speaker 3: You go when you're going through this planning process, you
- 32:33Speaker 3: make sure that you're involving as many people from the
- 32:36Speaker 3: public as possible to gather as many ideas and recommendations
- 32:41Speaker 3: to develop a really strong urban renewal plan. We made
- 32:44Speaker 3: the decision we have to start from a foundation over there,
- 32:46Speaker 3: so we partner with Cure. We're a financial partner in
- 32:49Speaker 3: this project. We hired Gai Consultants there are. They are
- 32:52Speaker 3: our firm that's handling developing the entire plan. What we
- 32:56Speaker 3: did differently with this is we said, we're in other
- 32:58Speaker 3: parts of the city, have we experience success economic success,
- 33:03Speaker 3: whether from an urban design perspective, from a building or
- 33:08Speaker 3: building perspective, business development perspective, and obviously the Elk City
- 33:12Speaker 3: District of the West Side, over the course of the
- 33:14Speaker 3: past ten to fifteen years, as you know, has experienced
- 33:16Speaker 3: a lot of really positive growth. So we said, as
- 33:19Speaker 3: we're developing this plan, why don't we use the Elk
- 33:21Speaker 3: City District take them while we're still helping them and
- 33:25Speaker 3: developing a future plan for them, why don't we use
- 33:27Speaker 3: them as sort of a blueprint and take parts of
- 33:31Speaker 3: what they did, tactics that were used, whether you know,
- 33:33Speaker 3: and that involves city government, that involves nonprofits, that involves
- 33:37Speaker 3: obviously huge private investments, property owners, business owners, get them
- 33:42Speaker 3: all around the table, do some research, do a huge
- 33:45Speaker 3: market analysis study and use that data as part of
- 33:50Speaker 3: making recommendations for the East End or real plan. Understanding
- 33:52Speaker 3: that the West Side and East End are in some
- 33:54Speaker 3: way similar but also very different. Sure, but how do
- 33:57Speaker 3: we take our best practices from the West Side, what
- 33:59Speaker 3: you've done over there and apply them to me? Since
- 34:01Speaker 3: this plan has to be put in place soon, and
- 34:04Speaker 3: we've been going through this process over the course of
- 34:06Speaker 3: the last six months, We've held several in coordination with
- 34:09Speaker 3: Gai and with Kira, we've held several public input sessions
- 34:12Speaker 3: with the business and property owners in Elk City. We
- 34:15Speaker 3: just had our one for the East End a couple
- 34:16Speaker 3: of nights ago, and a large one just for anybody
- 34:20Speaker 3: to come and give their recommendations. So really excited about
- 34:24Speaker 3: how that how that project is turning out. We're going
- 34:26Speaker 3: to have a full huge trade area market study, market
- 34:30Speaker 3: analysis study put together on top of a plan that's
- 34:33Speaker 3: going to have recommendations for projects for public space enhancements,
- 34:37Speaker 3: for strategies for recruiting new business, and that we're going
- 34:41Speaker 3: to use that as part of our blueprint as an organization,
- 34:43Speaker 3: working with Kira to put in our project plans to
- 34:46Speaker 3: see some change, some really positive change happen over there.
- 34:49Speaker 3: But we knew we had to start at square one.
- 34:51Speaker 3: So that's been a really great partnership and project that
- 34:54Speaker 3: will be wrapping up right around April. And of course
- 34:57Speaker 3: we've talked a lot about our West Side Gateway lighting initiative.
- 35:00Speaker 2: It's been an.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Ongoing project, it's taken a lot longer than we had anticipated.
- 35:05Speaker 3: We've kept our our business owners over in Elk City update,
- 35:07Speaker 3: we've kept our funders updated. The good news is equipment's
- 35:10Speaker 3: been ordered, the light posts have been ordered. Finally they'll
- 35:13Speaker 3: be in around the beginning to the middle of April,
- 35:16Speaker 3: and then we'll start construction on that project. And we
- 35:20Speaker 3: because we found out we had to raise more money.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Cost of everything has went up since we started this project,
- 35:25Speaker 3: ye and we had about one hundred and eighty thousand
- 35:26Speaker 3: dollars delta that we had to make up for. So
- 35:29Speaker 3: I've been hard at We've we've been hard at work,
- 35:31Speaker 3: reaching out to new funders, existing funders, you know, our
- 35:34Speaker 3: our delegates, our senators, you know, garnering support and more
- 35:38Speaker 3: funding for this and happy to report that we've almost
- 35:41Speaker 3: sealed up that delta. We're getting pretty close. But we've
- 35:44Speaker 3: already the equipment has been ordered and we are starting
- 35:46Speaker 3: that project in April. We could probably see the project
- 35:49Speaker 3: being complete by mid midsummer end of June, and we'll
- 35:53Speaker 3: have brand new lamp posts that shine down the street
- 35:55Speaker 3: more effectively keep our streets safe, but also illuminate our
- 35:59Speaker 3: facades and the front of our buildings. We can change
- 36:01Speaker 3: the color of the of the lights for different holidays.
- 36:04Speaker 3: It's going to be a really unique, really cool project
- 36:06Speaker 3: when it's over with all.
- 36:07Speaker 4: Right, Rick, it's always pleasure to have you on the

- 45:37Speaker 4: I had not seen this, but old boy did a

- 48:09Speaker 4: Republican Party, so that takes up a lot of his time.
- 48:12Speaker 4: His family takes up a lot of his time, his church,
- 48:14Speaker 4: and oh, by the way, he's got a very successful
- 48:16Speaker 4: podcast too. So Tony says, a little busy, but I
- 48:20Speaker 4: know he still listens to the show. So anytime Monday
- 48:23Speaker 4: seemed to be his best day because of his work schedule.
- 48:25Speaker 4: So anytime mister Hodge wants on the show, he is
- 48:28Speaker 4: more than welcome, Texas. Shouldn't those who were born in
- 48:32Speaker 4: another state if their parents are in the military, be
- 48:35Speaker 4: treated the same as those born to parents in the
- 48:36Speaker 4: Peace Corps in another country. They could become US president.
- 48:40Speaker 4: So if your parents are both residents of the same
- 48:42Speaker 4: state but served in the military in another state where
- 48:45Speaker 4: you were born, you should be a West Virginian natural citizen.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Am I wrong? I mean, I don't know about state citizenship.
- 48:51Speaker 4: I don't know, really, I've never been asked to prove that.
- 48:53Speaker 4: But I mean, as I said, in my case, I
- 48:56Speaker 4: was born in the state of Georgia Bulldogs to father
- 49:00Speaker 4: who was wrapping up his military career, and his last
- 49:03Speaker 4: stop was at Fort Benning. I was born Martin Army
- 49:05Speaker 4: Hospital and Fort Benning, just outside Columbus, Georgia. We moved
- 49:09Speaker 4: back to West Virginia when I was six months old
- 49:11Speaker 4: and had been in West Virginia ever since. Even this
- 49:13Speaker 4: is how much of a fan I am in the
- 49:14Speaker 4: state of West Virginia, TJ. Even though I worked in
- 49:19Speaker 4: the state of Ohio, I still lived in West Virginia.
- 49:23Speaker 4: I wants that tell you, it's just good sense. Well,
- 49:25Speaker 4: to be fair, it was seven miles across the border.
- 49:29Speaker 4: I worked at a radio station. I worked at a
- 49:31Speaker 4: couple of stations in Gallipolice, Ohio at one point, early
- 49:34Speaker 4: early in my career, right out of college. And it
- 49:38Speaker 4: just how happened when my wife and I and my
- 49:39Speaker 4: wife and I had just gotten married. We looked for
- 49:41Speaker 4: an apartment. The one there weren't any available in Galli
- 49:43Speaker 4: Police it was in Point Pleasant, So I lived in
- 49:46Speaker 4: Point Pleasant. Other than that, though I have lived in
- 49:48Speaker 4: West Virginia, you have you lived in West Virginia your
- 49:50Speaker 4: entire life? I have lived here my entire life. I
- 49:52Speaker 4: have worked many other places, but I've done it, traveling
- 49:55Speaker 4: back and forth and that kind of thing. But I
- 49:57Speaker 4: have lived here my entire life. Had you seen this
- 50:01Speaker 4: this truth social post that the president did and the
- 50:03Speaker 4: texture about depicting the Obama's as apes, are you serious? Yeah?
- 50:08Speaker 4: I got a text about I hadn't seen it, seen
- 50:10Speaker 4: it either, and uh there the texture was saying, uh,
- 50:13Speaker 4: you know, will Republicans call this out? The answers, No,
- 50:18Speaker 4: I mean you and I both know the answer to that, TJ.
- 50:20Speaker 4: The answers, No, why just just why.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Here's what.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Here's what many Trump supporters would say, Okay, this would
- 50:27Speaker 4: what they would say, Well, you know it, it's just
- 50:30Speaker 4: a joke.
- 50:31Speaker 2: And he didn't.
- 50:32Speaker 4: He didn't, he didn't really mean it, and stop being
- 50:34Speaker 4: offended by words or depictions or things of that nature.
- 50:37Speaker 4: I'm I'm saying that's probably what the defense would be. Yeah,
- 50:40Speaker 4: being presidential used to mean taking the high road. It
- 50:43Speaker 4: used to mean having a level of class and uh look,
- 50:46Speaker 4: Trump's not the first one not to do that. It
- 50:48Speaker 4: really took a big downturn in my opinion.
- 50:51Speaker 6: Uh post h w, I mean it's gotten Trump is
- 50:55Speaker 6: the worst by far, and just be classy, just take
- 50:59Speaker 6: the high road.
- 50:59Speaker 4: You don't to do that stuff. Yeah, and act presidential.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Act presidential. But they're you know, the hardcore Trump supporters
- 51:06Speaker 4: would say, that's what we love about him is that
- 51:08Speaker 4: he's one of us. I don't know that that's one
- 51:11Speaker 4: of us.
- 51:12Speaker 6: I don't want to do to be honest with you,
- 51:13Speaker 6: that I'm not going to be able to tell my
- 51:14Speaker 6: grandkids about one day without them feeling Did you hear
- 51:17Speaker 6: his comments at the prayer at the at the Yeah
- 51:20Speaker 6: with Thomas Massey. Yeah, and kudo's on MASSI you know
- 51:23Speaker 6: what he said, I vote with Republicans ninety one percent
- 51:26Speaker 6: of the time. I don't do it when they're trying
- 51:27Speaker 6: to bankrupt our country and when they're protecting pedophiles. Kudos
- 51:30Speaker 6: Thomas mass You know he's not a big fan of Massy.
- 51:33Speaker 6: Is the president he should be. Yeah, he's he should be.
- 51:35Speaker 6: He's they called him, called him moron. Thomas Massey as
- 51:39Speaker 6: many things I have met the gentleman, he is not
- 51:41Speaker 6: a moron.
- 51:42Speaker 4: All right, what you got?
- 51:43Speaker 6: On the show today ten oh six, David and I
- 51:45Speaker 6: are going to recap our week at the Capitol lot
