- 0:28Speaker 2: I'm so happy to be here this podcast.
- 0:31Speaker 1: This is your first Well just for all y'all listeners
- 0:34Speaker 1: that don't get to in person, I will say, as
- 0:38Speaker 1: a straight female straight that she is beyond gorgeous. You
- 0:44Speaker 1: are so crazy. I said it like eighteen times, like cue,
- 0:47Speaker 1: did you see how brady'sy was?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Hello? Did you see did you see her? She's making
- 0:51Speaker 2: me sorry? Yes?
- 0:53Speaker 1: And now I see why your team we were late.
- 0:55Speaker 1: We're running behind schedule and your team blow up my
- 0:59Speaker 1: phone and they definitely don't like me because I take it.
- 1:04Speaker 1: They started their calls at like eight this morning, I'm
- 1:07Speaker 1: and every time they called me, I would just respond
- 1:10Speaker 1: back with a text.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So I'm I hate.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I don't like calls.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Why you need to call me when it's textable? It's
- 1:16Speaker 2: not textable?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe gotta have the awkward bie you're done, you're done,
- 1:21Speaker 1: or when you tell someone you only have ten minutes
- 1:23Speaker 1: left on a call and they continue talking like, yeah,
- 1:30Speaker 1: so how long have you been out here?
- 1:32Speaker 2: It's gonna be two years in like a few months.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And how do you like it in America in general? Like,
- 1:40Speaker 2: I don't know if I would say, like, I love it.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I feel like it's definitely so different because you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: in turn it out, everyone is so welcoming, it's very hospitable.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Everyone's just, you know, very friendly. And I don't really
- 1:51Speaker 2: get that hair like people aren't friendly, They're very to themselves.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It's kind of like stampedolfish. So I find it kind
- 1:58Speaker 2: of hard to be honest. But I do love like
- 2:01Speaker 2: the people that I'm working with, Like, there's so many
- 2:02Speaker 2: talented people here, there's so much great opportunity. So I'm
- 2:05Speaker 2: grateful to be here. I'm able to do what I
- 2:07Speaker 2: want because I don't really have the opportunities that I
- 2:09Speaker 2: would if I would intrin it out so nice?
- 2:12Speaker 1: And then do you want to share with everybody the
- 2:14Speaker 1: drinks you tried today that I put in front of you?
- 2:17Speaker 2: So we tried you who? You? Who?
- 2:21Speaker 1: I gave her a pink you who guys.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really know I feel about pink drinks.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It kind of reminds you of pepto bismal, like yeah, totally, yeah, total,
- 2:28Speaker 2: But it was actually not bad. This thing right here, yo,
- 2:32Speaker 2: this is diabetes and.
- 2:33Speaker 1: She's referencing the kool aid. She did not like, I'm late.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I'm sweet, I can't drink it, like how are you?
- 2:39Speaker 1: And this is not the sweet but that's not I
- 2:42Speaker 1: gave her the low sugar version, so I had like
- 2:44Speaker 1: that sweet and low flavor, but she still she was
- 2:47Speaker 1: not rocking with it, so you know, I just wanted
- 2:50Speaker 1: to bless her with some.
- 2:52Speaker 2: This one is bad. I could drink this one like
- 2:55Speaker 2: if I didn't know what it was pink and I
- 2:56Speaker 2: was just I would be like, it's good, right, this one.
- 2:59Speaker 2: You know, if y'all, if you like it, I.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Promise you if I find out later that you randomly
- 3:02Speaker 1: were craving it, you who would make my da.
- 3:05Speaker 2: No, you might have really pulled me.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I'd be sucking those down. I found out
- 3:11Speaker 1: about you, who's after we had this studio. I only
- 3:14Speaker 1: buy the chocolate version. If you try the chocolate version,
- 3:17Speaker 1: it's really good. And then I started messing with the
- 3:19Speaker 1: pink version, and I was like, oh, I like both,
- 3:22Speaker 1: but the if you try the chocolate I promise you
- 3:24Speaker 1: you will like this drink. You will be in where
- 3:26Speaker 1: are you at Florida right now? You will be at
- 3:28Speaker 1: Florida and you will be like, I think I want one. Okay,
- 3:31Speaker 1: So I helped you out, No, you really put me
- 3:33Speaker 1: on talk to you. So before we get into an interview,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I would like to know what you're going to be
- 3:39Speaker 1: having me eat today as a dish you once ate
- 3:42Speaker 1: when you were broke or still could possibly entertain.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Now, Yeah, so today for y'all, I broughd the infamous
- 3:50Speaker 2: creks on cheese accompanied by booty sauce. If you're from
- 3:53Speaker 2: the Caribbean, specifically Trinidad, y'all know cricks and cheese. I
- 3:57Speaker 2: even see and like people come on here and they
- 3:59Speaker 2: make it like all me broke me. So I'm like,
- 4:01Speaker 2: if you're really broke, you all in have all that ingredients,
- 4:04Speaker 2: Like you also have oileve ingredients to be making gold baby.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Exactly. If you broke, you have cheese.
- 4:09Speaker 2: You have crioks. That's your meal. That's all you have.
- 4:11Speaker 2: So this is a staple in the Caribbean community. If
- 4:14Speaker 2: you have not to any fridge, your mother don't want
- 4:16Speaker 2: to cook, you just want to eat something this way
- 4:18Speaker 2: you eat the.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Cheese and it's basically cheese and crackers, because she went
- 4:23Speaker 1: shopping all around looking for it and she could not
- 4:26Speaker 1: find this authentic version. So this is a dish I love. Okay,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I eat this on a Rando day, and you're right
- 4:34Speaker 1: when I don't feel like cooking.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yes, it's so easy.
- 4:37Speaker 1: You don't have to do much easy Sometimes secretly, if
- 4:40Speaker 1: you knew me, like behind camera, whenever a guest gives
- 4:44Speaker 1: me a dish with like thirty ingredients, I do all
- 4:47Speaker 1: the shit talking. I'm like, this, bullshit, this is prorid
- 4:52Speaker 1: exactly I have, especially if they're specific on like certain
- 4:55Speaker 1: ingredients like labels, I'm like, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. What is
- 4:58Speaker 1: it still forty dollars?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:00Speaker 1: I will say though as a credit to some of
- 5:02Speaker 1: the guests, they definitely could like stretch those ingredients out
- 5:05Speaker 1: to feed a lot more. But I am relieved that
- 5:09Speaker 1: you chose a dish that really everyone at home could afford.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So go ahead, slice of the cheese, hug me up.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And then you did add this.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Though, Yeah, this this is the essential, the Caribbean essential
- 5:21Speaker 2: es pepper sauce, the best pepper social I put this
- 5:24Speaker 2: on everything. I have a keychain. My best friend she
- 5:27Speaker 2: made me. She knows so much Chella pepper, so she
- 5:29Speaker 2: made me a keychain just to put pepper sauce in Twilish.
- 5:32Speaker 2: We have it like a touch to my bog and
- 5:34Speaker 2: every bog like I just put it on, like that's
- 5:36Speaker 2: that's whole bod. This is hold on.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I'm so is this from?
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:41Speaker 2: This is from?
- 5:41Speaker 1: Okay, so let's do this. So what are we doing?
- 5:44Speaker 1: We're just taking crackers and cheese.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yes? Should I cut them off? Okay?
- 5:48Speaker 1: And then I just take the crackers. I'll take the crackers.
- 5:51Speaker 2: They're not as good ritz. They break too easily. They're
- 5:54Speaker 2: very you see, look at us, they're two fragiles. Creaks
- 5:57Speaker 2: is you know most city she's she's you know, she'd.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Just crooks, crick cricks cr x oh cricks see our
- 6:06Speaker 1: I x okay?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah cheese. Yeah, when I broke, When you broke, you
- 6:12Speaker 2: can't be cutting tick cheese. It's ten. You got to
- 6:15Speaker 2: make this stretches the cheese.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I'll be.
- 6:20Speaker 2: That's privilege. That's privilege. I love it.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I love it. So for us that have not been
- 6:27Speaker 1: to Trinidad, paint me the picture of what it's like.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Over there, it's like, I don't know, it's just so
- 6:33Speaker 2: great people. Everyone is so friendly. Everyone is just willing
- 6:37Speaker 2: to do anything for you. Like it's just such a
- 6:40Speaker 2: great group of people. You know, we all just show
- 6:43Speaker 2: love to one another. Our Carnival we have the best
- 6:46Speaker 2: Cannibal and Wilio. If you'll never been to trainingy Connival,
- 6:48Speaker 2: we hadny Mecca. So you ever been to Cannibal if
- 6:51Speaker 2: you haven't been to Training Cannibal, we just we're great people,
- 6:54Speaker 2: Like we just come together. I brought my best friend
- 6:57Speaker 2: to Trinidad last year and we got both people. You know,
- 7:00Speaker 2: as soon as you're just in like Korean people presents,
- 7:02Speaker 2: everyone's friendly. You talk and she's like, you know what
- 7:05Speaker 2: I listen like because I just pick up a comments
- 7:06Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, that's just.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Like how people are you know, like your best friend
- 7:10Speaker 1: from here? Yeah, so how are you guys best friends?
- 7:12Speaker 1: How do you guys know each other?
- 7:14Speaker 2: So I met her, well, this is a fun fact.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I have no social skills. So I have no social skills.
- 7:19Speaker 2: So I went on this thing called bumble bff. She's
- 7:21Speaker 2: gonna be so mild that I said this because she
- 7:23Speaker 2: likes to lie to people. She's like, you can't tell
- 7:25Speaker 2: people we met a bumble bff. That's embarrassing. I'm like,
- 7:28Speaker 2: who cares?
- 7:29Speaker 1: I don't care for bumbo is. Isn't it bumble like
- 7:32Speaker 1: a dating side?
- 7:33Speaker 4: No?
- 7:33Speaker 2: She just like a best friend version. See there's a
- 7:35Speaker 2: friend vision so.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You yes, no, yes, so there's the best friend vision.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I love that she's embarrassed by it.
- 7:43Speaker 2: For really, I wouldn't care.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Like, so you went on there to find a friend.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because I had just moved. I don't know anybody.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm in a new city. Like how do I?
- 7:51Speaker 1: I don't even know you could do that?
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like I was on TikTok and I
- 7:55Speaker 2: was like, how do I make a friend? Like? How
- 7:57Speaker 2: do I? Because, as I said, I have no socials,
- 8:01Speaker 2: so I can't just be.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Going going like that. We'll be walking down the streets,
- 8:06Speaker 1: She'll start talking to strangers and I'm like they're all like, no,
- 8:11Speaker 1: you're not doing it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I have no So she she is queen of socials.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I don't know how she does it. But to me, like,
- 8:16Speaker 2: ever since I came here, everyone's stand off and she
- 8:18Speaker 2: was like, I'm not trying. You know, been going up
- 8:20Speaker 2: to people one day, you know, doing any kind of
- 8:23Speaker 2: extra stuff. So I'm like, let me go on my
- 8:24Speaker 2: little bit at ff bumble app and I met her.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So wait, when you were going on this app, did
- 8:30Speaker 1: you meet a bunch of different people and then you
- 8:31Speaker 1: synced with her?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yes? Yeah, it was definitely okay, okay, So.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Can you told me about a couple of year experiences?
- 8:39Speaker 2: So I had this one gul. She was super nice
- 8:42Speaker 2: at fous But like, I don't eve been to Miami.
- 8:45Speaker 2: The whole thing for me with Miami is everyone is
- 8:47Speaker 2: just like party and everything is party party.
- 8:50Speaker 1: So I'll say this though Miami, there's a lot of
- 8:52Speaker 1: beautiful people there right.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It's it's non stop party and everyone just went to
- 8:56Speaker 2: the club. They going on boats and like I you know,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I like my little fish, but like y'all don't want
- 9:02Speaker 2: to do anything else, Like you know, you don't want
- 9:03Speaker 2: to go on a little picnic, go and paint some pots,
- 9:06Speaker 2: like you know, do something else. And it was hard
- 9:08Speaker 2: for me because like they would only want to just
- 9:10Speaker 2: be outside. Oh you good, So and so is going
- 9:12Speaker 2: hey you know, Like it's just kind of like I
- 9:15Speaker 2: was focused on what I was doing. I just wanted
- 9:16Speaker 2: to you know, have a friend I could do fun
- 9:18Speaker 2: and adventurous things with. So that was kind of like
- 9:21Speaker 2: my struggle finding gun and she was perfect, Like her
- 9:24Speaker 2: first thing and her BI was like, don't message me
- 9:26Speaker 2: if you want to potty. I was like, that's for me, right,
- 9:30Speaker 2: that's right there.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So then what was that conversation, like, hey, do you
- 9:34Speaker 1: want to be friends or how does that work? Because
- 9:37Speaker 1: that is a very unique way to find a friend.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I let you mentioned. I was like, we need to
- 9:40Speaker 2: be friends. That's what I said. They first mess just
- 9:43Speaker 2: like we need to be friends, and then I think
- 9:45Speaker 2: we met up like the next day. Really I could
- 9:47Speaker 2: have been kidnapped. She could have really been someone who
- 9:49Speaker 2: could have kidnapped me free, I have no there was
- 9:51Speaker 2: no stranger danger going on.
- 9:53Speaker 1: And did you're camp the people that you're working with,
- 9:56Speaker 1: the signed to and have productive deals with where they
- 9:58Speaker 1: like be careful finding friends on did they know you
- 10:01Speaker 1: were doing this? Do they know this at all? Right now?
- 10:05Speaker 2: This story? I don't think they do?
- 10:08Speaker 3: You know?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Because she did? She don't be telling people. She's like,
- 10:11Speaker 2: you can't be We met on bumble BF. So I'm like, okay, girl,
- 10:14Speaker 2: like to be like, holy on me and she's like, well,
- 10:16Speaker 2: you know, I'm like, if you want to light to them,
- 10:20Speaker 2: be my guess. I am not doing that.
- 10:22Speaker 1: So you took it to Trinidad. That's a good friend trip.
- 10:25Speaker 1: That was nice.
- 10:26Speaker 2: It was it was she had so much fun. Like
- 10:28Speaker 2: we she played corn, you know, feathers.
- 10:31Speaker 1: She wore the whole pasture.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you want to see a pic after? Yeah, like
- 10:35Speaker 2: she there's someone like the Newspeople interviewed though, like she
- 10:38Speaker 2: was only one race?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Is she she's white?
- 10:40Speaker 2: This white? Yeah, oh my god.
- 10:44Speaker 1: And she dressed the whole costume.
- 10:45Speaker 2: The whole thing. I had to teach her all to whine.
- 10:48Speaker 2: We had soker class every day. I had to show
- 10:50Speaker 2: she when I tell you, she was a lost course
- 10:52Speaker 2: at the beginning. Sis couldn't give. There was no gyrating
- 10:55Speaker 2: going on, there was there was nothing going on. I
- 10:57Speaker 2: really had to. You know, Grindy cares for some more
- 11:00Speaker 2: in Hawaish you know. Now she can wind, she can wind, like, okay.
- 11:04Speaker 1: You gotta say the I'm sure anyone that's Lesson's gonna
- 11:07Speaker 1: want to see what she looks like.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Now. She's so pretty too.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Okay, So you took her there and she got Now
- 11:13Speaker 1: does it feels like to her, does she feel like
- 11:15Speaker 1: it's Trinidad is a place that she's gonna want to
- 11:17Speaker 1: continue to go.
- 11:18Speaker 2: So Colin, it was next week and I was like,
- 11:20Speaker 2: you're talking to and she's like, I'm so sad I
- 11:22Speaker 2: missing Connorble like we should be there, Like I want
- 11:25Speaker 2: to go. I'm like girl, and she's calling home. She's like,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I miss home. I'm like, girl, you're from Tampa. When
- 11:30Speaker 2: you made it, you're from Tampa. Let's take it up.
- 11:34Speaker 2: She's staying to like if people ask away, she's telling
- 11:38Speaker 2: them Trinidad. I'm like, girl, you've been at one time.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Spoken like a true American.
- 11:44Speaker 2: It was so funny. I was like, you're really and
- 11:46Speaker 2: your colonize the air. That's why she's white.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm like, girl, okay, let meeh, pug me up.
- 11:52Speaker 2: This is your plate. I'm gonna fix your plate.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Oh you have mine up?
- 11:55Speaker 2: Are cute?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Okay? Thank you?
- 11:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 11:57Speaker 2: I got shere and then't know how to make Christian.
- 11:59Speaker 2: She bougie, but we gonna see.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Okay, So you have a song out right now called
- 12:05Speaker 1: two Shots. Okay for the listeners that haven't heard you sing,
- 12:09Speaker 1: are you down to give us a little hum of
- 12:12Speaker 1: a note. I know, I know, I'll give you a
- 12:14Speaker 1: lot of sugars and sweets and no water and nothing
- 12:17Speaker 1: that would help your vocals.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Huh.
- 12:18Speaker 1: You just show me deep and I am throwing, look
- 12:21Speaker 1: how presentable you really try?
- 12:22Speaker 2: And I'm really trying hear, Like.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Does everyone dress and have that stylist flair that you
- 12:28Speaker 1: have INND in Trinidad.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I wouldn't say like exactly yes, but I do like to.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I try to blend it, like I want to incorporate
- 12:37Speaker 2: my style with like always some kind of Caribbean influence.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You know, that's very important to me. So they do
- 12:42Speaker 2: have elements like the belt that I'm wearing stuff that
- 12:45Speaker 2: is very Cribban, like I feel like my auntie would
- 12:47Speaker 2: put that on. I love to dress like I would
- 12:48Speaker 2: like to have some kind of Caribbean auntie element in
- 12:51Speaker 2: my outfit. So it definitely has inspiration from the Caribbean,
- 12:55Speaker 2: but not fully like You're not gonna go down the
- 12:56Speaker 2: sheet and be like, oh yeah, that's such af you know.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Well says the first thing I noticed was your nails
- 13:02Speaker 1: and I was like girl, And then like all the
- 13:03Speaker 1: accessories and everything, I was like, I want to steal
- 13:05Speaker 1: all that it's so cute.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I'm giving it to you here. You're waiting for the cube.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Don't forget it though, figures take it back, Okay.
- 13:17Speaker 2: You sure, no, I'll try it on. Put it on you.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I want to put it all the way on because
- 13:21Speaker 1: I'm scared.
- 13:22Speaker 2: You're good. You sure scared. I tried it you though,
- 13:25Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It's so cute. I'm going to go home and.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Be like, I can't function with diesel. The hard to function.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Really, it's so cute. Okay, so you plated it. It
- 13:37Speaker 1: looks cute. Oh, you're going to put it on the side.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't want it to touch them. I'm
- 13:41Speaker 2: not a big like things touching, you know.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Oh really I am all right there you go. Look
- 13:47Speaker 1: it looks beautiful. Guys, you would have been sad if
- 13:51Speaker 1: it touched I see you trying to stomach it. Okay,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you played it this nice?
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I tried. Is this it's not? I don't know.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I mean, I don't want to speak for you, because
- 14:03Speaker 2: I did give it to American and they thought it
- 14:06Speaker 2: was spicy. But my white friend she she be.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Hilarious. I wish she was here. I'm gonna try dip
- 14:16Speaker 1: in this hold on.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah, let me know. If I don't think it's spicy,
- 14:18Speaker 2: it's flavorful, you know. Just do you think it's spicy?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Are you?
- 14:29Speaker 3: Is there?
- 14:31Speaker 2: No, you're joking? Are you? Are you? You're joking?
- 14:35Speaker 1: That is dynamite? What are you talking about?
- 14:38Speaker 2: What do you mean? It's just like a little you
- 14:41Speaker 2: know what added flavor. It's not so much.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I went like this.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I went like this, Yeah, see, it's not as bad.
- 14:54Speaker 2: It's it. I feel like, I feel like you're not
- 14:57Speaker 2: dipping it properly. I feel like you need to just
- 15:00Speaker 2: you need it supposed to be only cheese, so you
- 15:02Speaker 2: pretty cheese and you just do a little touch on
- 15:03Speaker 2: the cheese. She'll touch, Yeah, that's good, and then you
- 15:08Speaker 2: put it on the.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Kraco It's look. Look, I'm surviving it. But it did
- 15:15Speaker 1: hit my whole mouth.
- 15:17Speaker 2: There we go. I'm screaming.
- 15:21Speaker 1: No, that's legal.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Really wow, I'm sorry. I just tried to kill those
- 15:27Speaker 2: attempts at Moodio this witness.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I would not ever tell anyone that's not spicy. I
- 15:35Speaker 1: don't think I see what you're saying. It's like a
- 15:37Speaker 1: flavor bomb of pepper. But I'm just curious what happens
- 15:43Speaker 1: if I put like a little, I'd.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Be doing nothing. Like if I eat it, I'm like
- 15:49Speaker 2: scooping it. I want is a custom.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I just want to try, just to see if I live.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Okay, I believe in you. Okay, Okay, that's too much.
- 15:57Speaker 1: That's too much.
- 15:58Speaker 2: That's how much do you do?
- 16:00Speaker 1: You said you do scoops.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Not that big of a scoop, but how big is
- 16:03Speaker 2: your scoops? I mean, let's get to business. Yeah, that
- 16:08Speaker 2: was reasonable. I put it on.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And she's a professional, and this is how much she
- 16:13Speaker 1: puts on the cracker. Everybody can see that, like, this
- 16:15Speaker 1: is what I do. This is a professionally, Like this
- 16:17Speaker 1: is my bite. Okay, hold on, hold on, let me.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I got a thick piece of cheese to save my life. Okay,
- 16:23Speaker 1: and then you put it on, yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 3: And you just go bite.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He was like it was very good, Like for all
- 16:40Speaker 1: you listeners at home that have never had this stick
- 16:44Speaker 1: to cheese and crackers though, I mean, it's it's got
- 16:47Speaker 1: a flair, but it tastes like pepper pepper boblem like
- 16:52Speaker 1: if you know, if you can imagine a dynamite stick,
- 16:56Speaker 1: that's what it is. I mean, it's doable. I'm gonna
- 16:59Speaker 1: do it because I want to feel whole. Mm hmmm, boo,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I won't right for the element mm hmm.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it, but I.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Love that no pepper, you love what the kool aid?
- 17:10Speaker 1: Finally pepper?
- 17:12Speaker 2: Mm hmm, it's just so good.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, no way, it would be my key chain. No,
- 17:19Speaker 1: you know what. Someone put me onto this sauce.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Hold up, let me see, let me see.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I like trying things with you. Oh good, guys.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I love that.
- 17:27Speaker 1: We're gonna try this. Someone gave us this sauce season
- 17:32Speaker 1: you know what. I don't want you to know the
- 17:33Speaker 1: names of these sauces. I'm not gonna let it touch anything. Okay,
- 17:37Speaker 1: let's see if you like this.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I like this so I don't know I feel about
- 17:40Speaker 2: this being so is it green seasoning?
- 17:43Speaker 3: Like?
- 17:43Speaker 2: What isn't it?
- 17:44Speaker 1: I'm not telling you to you bite it? Okay, all right,
- 17:48Speaker 1: do the same hook up.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Okay, let's see. I'm not a faab. These smell already,
- 17:52Speaker 2: these smellers already a bit concening.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Like, I don't know, I think you're gonna like this here.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna try it too. I want to do it
- 17:58Speaker 1: the way you're doing it, hold up kind of smells I.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Could have green season. We going okay.
- 18:10Speaker 3: To me?
- 18:11Speaker 2: I like yourself to mean I don't taste like nothing?
- 18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, no, because you don't have taste buds anymore. Ye noatus,
- 18:21Speaker 1: it's hilarious.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really for your listeners.
- 18:28Speaker 1: This is a halburnaro or hot sauce, and it tastes
- 18:33Speaker 1: like kool aid compared to her pepper sauce.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I promise you if you like a little spice, so
- 18:39Speaker 2: you will like this.
- 18:40Speaker 1: If you eat hot peppers and like it's nothing like
- 18:43Speaker 1: it's cherries, you will love that pepper sauce.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It's not that bad.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Absolutely, what what kind of can I see that?
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah? Go for it.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Scotch bonnets Okay, Scotch bonnet. Yeah, if you can eat
- 18:57Speaker 1: Scotch bonnets, this is your sauce. If you cannot, and
- 19:03Speaker 1: you're like me, you can eat this sauce, but after
- 19:07Speaker 1: you eat Scotch bonnet sauce, you won't be able to
- 19:10Speaker 1: taste this sauce anyways. This say, is like nothing. I
- 19:15Speaker 1: don't even taste.
- 19:16Speaker 2: It exactly those first No, because it just don't have
- 19:20Speaker 2: a flavor.
- 19:21Speaker 1: No, because you don't have taste it all right, So
- 19:31Speaker 1: now we've we've learned that you don't have taste buds,
- 19:33Speaker 1: but you could sing true, this is very delicious. You
- 19:37Speaker 1: know what this kind of reminds me of, Like, what
- 19:39Speaker 1: have you had pepperoni and cheese and cracker I do
- 19:45Speaker 1: you would like it?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Really? I do like pizza leagles what they're good?
- 19:54Speaker 1: I really like them. You should just do like food,
- 19:56Speaker 1: like trying different foods every day, people be say, just
- 20:01Speaker 1: to see how you react. Okay, so tell me how
- 20:05Speaker 1: does a girl from Trinidad end.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Up in Florida.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna keep eating this, by the way, even
- 20:11Speaker 1: though I think I'm semi addicted to the pepper sauce
- 20:14Speaker 1: only because I can't taste anything.
- 20:19Speaker 2: So for me, I always used to love singing since
- 20:22Speaker 2: I was small. I would be singing powang. I would be,
- 20:25Speaker 2: you know, in the choir, singing hymns. Any chime to sing,
- 20:28Speaker 2: I will be singing. I mean, I always love singing.
- 20:32Speaker 2: But you know, you're from the Caribbean and he's from
- 20:33Speaker 2: a small island. You don't think you could actually, you know,
- 20:35Speaker 2: do anything with it. You know, Caribbean parents either gonna
- 20:38Speaker 2: be a lawyer or doctor. Pick one like that was
- 20:40Speaker 2: your choice. That's all they want you to do. The
- 20:42Speaker 2: don't want you to do anything else. You tell let me
- 20:44Speaker 2: you want to do music, They laughing at you. So
- 20:47Speaker 2: I always wanted to do music, but I didn't really
- 20:49Speaker 2: have that support, like from my family. It was always
- 20:52Speaker 2: like I studied on sciences like I was supposed to do,
- 20:54Speaker 2: like medicine.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Like, so, I'm guessing you chose a doctor.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, my dad's a doctor. I'm like, so, so you
- 21:01Speaker 2: really had to be a doctor, Okay, yeah, so I
- 21:03Speaker 2: like I was doing sciences. I had no choice, like
- 21:06Speaker 2: I have to do sciences, Like, well, you have to
- 21:08Speaker 2: be you have to do And I kind of was
- 21:11Speaker 2: fully in it until like when I started doing university.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I was like, I don't know if I really want to,
- 21:18Speaker 2: Like I don't want to do this, Like this is
- 21:20Speaker 2: not for me. And I told like my dad.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And did you tell him over the phone?
- 21:30Speaker 2: I didn't know. I told him. I told him in person.
- 21:32Speaker 2: He was kind of just like we're uh, one on one. Yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 2: he wasn't trying to he wasn't trying to hear it.
- 21:38Speaker 1: You had a lot of faith in yourself and him.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he was safe.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Hey, dad, I don't want to be a doctor, surprise,
- 21:46Speaker 1: but I want to be a singer.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah. He literally was like girls, shut the hell up.
- 21:50Speaker 2: But though he literally was like I don't know about this,
- 21:53Speaker 2: like because I mean, why would you know your crimean parents,
- 21:56Speaker 2: It's not it's not something that happens every day. So
- 21:59Speaker 2: I basically ended up during COVID. My dad ended up
- 22:03Speaker 2: going to Florida, Like he got stuck in Florida during COVID,
- 22:06Speaker 2: so he was there. I was kind of stuck in
- 22:08Speaker 2: Trinidad buy like me and my brother alone, like the
- 22:10Speaker 2: house alone. He was kind of just day by Ason.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Where's her mom?
- 22:13Speaker 2: She was like she was in Trinidad, but we didn't
- 22:15Speaker 2: really like see her as much. We were kind of
- 22:17Speaker 2: in like where my dad stayed. So me and my
- 22:21Speaker 2: brother were there and like we had to like find
- 22:24Speaker 2: ways to like you know, pay for like you know,
- 22:26Speaker 2: the light, build different stuff. So I ended up like
- 22:29Speaker 2: really like posting a lot on Instagram. I would just
- 22:31Speaker 2: post like pictures, a bunch of things. And then I
- 22:34Speaker 2: got reached out to by this really like the biggest
- 22:37Speaker 2: artist in Trinida, Marshall Montana, and they were like what
- 22:40Speaker 2: they want me to be in a video and I
- 22:42Speaker 2: had never like done a music video before, but I
- 22:45Speaker 2: was like, you know, it's my Montana. I'm gonna go.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And I was like, you knowly background, I was like,
- 22:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell him I want to do music and
- 22:50Speaker 2: I want to see, like if you would listen, you know,
- 22:52Speaker 2: tell me if it's even with my time. So I
- 22:55Speaker 2: go there and me and Marshall, you know, be very
- 22:57Speaker 2: He's very nice. He's very friendly, and I tell him, like,
- 23:00Speaker 2: I really want to do music, like would you listen
- 23:03Speaker 2: to some stuff that I did, and you tell me
- 23:04Speaker 2: if it's something I should like do even try and pursue.
- 23:08Speaker 2: And he's like, send it to me and I'll let
- 23:09Speaker 2: you know. Mind you. At the time, I had no phone,
- 23:12Speaker 2: Like my phone had broke right before COVID started. I'm like,
- 23:16Speaker 2: who could afford to buy your phone in COVID. So
- 23:18Speaker 2: the entirety of COVID, all I had was a iPad.
- 23:20Speaker 2: The only way you could contact me was Instagram. I
- 23:22Speaker 2: had no phone. I had nothing like, couldn't go and
- 23:26Speaker 2: make no kind of content. I had no phone, nothing like.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It was. It was a lot.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So I sent your dad is.
- 23:31Speaker 2: All the way to Florida. Yeah, it's literally just like
- 23:34Speaker 2: me and my brother. So I send him, I send
- 23:37Speaker 2: him these songs and I just sent him from my
- 23:39Speaker 2: mom's phone, like I had to go to her house
- 23:40Speaker 2: get to send it from her phone and like wait
- 23:43Speaker 2: to hear feedback. And so he finally calls my mom's
- 23:46Speaker 2: phone and like I have to like tady from her
- 23:49Speaker 2: and be like okay, yeah, what do you think? And
- 23:51Speaker 2: he like takes a week. So I already felt like
- 23:52Speaker 2: he forgot about me. I was like, you don't even
- 23:53Speaker 2: studying me, you don't even taking me on. He calls me,
- 23:56Speaker 2: He's like I listened to your music. Oh my god,
- 23:59Speaker 2: you have an amazing voice, like this is this is incredible.
- 24:02Speaker 2: You actually have an opportunity to, you know, leave Trinidad
- 24:05Speaker 2: and do something bigger than this. You need to leave,
- 24:08Speaker 2: need to pursue your craft, like you just need to
- 24:10Speaker 2: work on yourself and you could go so far. I'm
- 24:12Speaker 2: here not from him, Like I was shocked, you know,
- 24:14Speaker 2: because this man is the biggest face in Trinidad, like
- 24:18Speaker 2: he is Marsha Montana. So when I heard, I was like, Okay,
- 24:21Speaker 2: that's my confirmation. You know you have some self double
- 24:23Speaker 2: you hear someone like that tell you, okay, you could
- 24:26Speaker 2: actually pursue this. I was like, you know what I'm
- 24:28Speaker 2: doing it. I told my dad, I'm like, as soon
- 24:30Speaker 2: as you first flight from Trinidad like opens up, because
- 24:32Speaker 2: he bored us We're closed. Our borders were closed like
- 24:34Speaker 2: an extra year from like America, yours open like a
- 24:37Speaker 2: year before always.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Did really Yeah, how long were you guys in COVID
- 24:41Speaker 1: two years or one two?
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, So as soon as he bought US open, I
- 24:46Speaker 2: had to I checked it up there, like I was
- 24:50Speaker 2: only second flight. The second day that he bought US open.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I went, I came up here one time and like.
- 24:55Speaker 1: You came to Florida, Yeah, did you tell your dad
- 24:57Speaker 1: that you were you were going to produce yes for
- 24:59Speaker 1: you got on the plane. Yeah, he said okay.
- 25:01Speaker 2: He was like okay, because what Marshall said, he was
- 25:04Speaker 2: like okay, you know, like he was kind of most
- 25:06Speaker 2: part He's like, you're not just gonna tell you that,
- 25:08Speaker 2: So he was kind of sid to be more supportive.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And I came up to Florida. As soon as I
- 25:12Speaker 2: got there, I started to like go to a different studios,
- 25:15Speaker 2: like message a bunch of people like oh, I want
- 25:17Speaker 2: to work with you just see who I could, you know,
- 25:18Speaker 2: get in contact with. And my dad ended up knowing
- 25:21Speaker 2: someone who is an engineer. His name is Nigel, who's
- 25:24Speaker 2: like my really good friend now he's a family friend.
- 25:27Speaker 2: And he told me to come to this studio and
- 25:28Speaker 2: like just sing, just sing some songs. And he was like,
- 25:31Speaker 2: you know, see if you want to like help me
- 25:33Speaker 2: out or you know, work with me, and like I
- 25:35Speaker 2: sung for him and he was like okay, yeah, we
- 25:37Speaker 2: were doing this and since then he's like been my engineer.
- 25:40Speaker 2: He's like hit Maker's injinee so like heki does all
- 25:42Speaker 2: the hitmakers stuff. So he was like, yeah, we're gonna
- 25:46Speaker 2: we're gonna make this week. I never knew how to write,
- 25:48Speaker 2: like like full on, like write songs just like from scratch.
- 25:52Speaker 2: He literally sat me down and I was like I
- 25:53Speaker 2: want to learn, Like just teach me. I'm all about
- 25:55Speaker 2: learning like anything. I sent my mind to him like
- 25:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna figure out how to do it. I can
- 25:59Speaker 2: rhyme sentences before like I couldn't do anything. He was
- 26:02Speaker 2: like this, who works this. I sat at the table
- 26:04Speaker 2: like I was like I'm not leaving a table until
- 26:06Speaker 2: I write like a full song like I'm not leaving,
- 26:08Speaker 2: and I did it. I did that, and I wrote
- 26:11Speaker 2: three songs and I just started sending it to everybody,
- 26:13Speaker 2: like I sent it to a bunch of different like
- 26:15Speaker 2: companies and that's how Neo heard my song because I
- 26:18Speaker 2: sent it to them too. I was like, I'm any
- 26:19Speaker 2: clas that I can reach out to, like.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I'm you're sending it, you're dming or emails. Wow.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm just fine. And everybody emails like anybody
- 26:28Speaker 2: would have email at touch anything like me, I don't play.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I'm like I'm gonna get it. So they reached out
- 26:33Speaker 2: to me and they're like, okay, like will we heard
- 26:35Speaker 2: yourself really like if we want to, you know, hey,
- 26:38Speaker 2: how you saw them live? And so they literally flew
- 26:41Speaker 2: me to Las Vegas like a day after.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Old Neils camp or yeah, we tart out to Compound entertainment.
- 26:47Speaker 1: We love those guys, always love those.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Guys, big up them, and so they flew me there
- 26:53Speaker 2: to Las Vegas. Was like, okay, you need to write
- 26:55Speaker 2: a song to this, Like you need to write a
- 26:57Speaker 2: listen to this song in like like a few hours,
- 27:00Speaker 2: do this recorded, and then we're gonna decide if we
- 27:02Speaker 2: want to move with you some hype of ventilation. Mind you,
- 27:04Speaker 2: I never been in a different time zone before. Las
- 27:07Speaker 2: Vegas is a whole different times so I'm like trying
- 27:10Speaker 2: to deal with jet log I don't have to do that.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Give you how many hours a couple?
- 27:14Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, he was like. Trio was just like,
- 27:17Speaker 2: I'm like, honest, Neo on the songs. It's like, I'm
- 27:20Speaker 2: singing the hook on the this list, and I'm like,
- 27:23Speaker 2: what am I supposed to do?
- 27:24Speaker 1: Like but Neil? Now, Neil was a songwriter for like
- 27:28Speaker 1: a kazillion years, so like that's a hard I shouldn't
- 27:31Speaker 1: even know. Just admitting a song that he would even
- 27:33Speaker 1: listen to, You're like, oh my god, this guy's gonna
- 27:35Speaker 1: listen for all the.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I was like, how am I gonna write something that's
- 27:39Speaker 2: good enough? Like because here his paut was ready on it.
- 27:41Speaker 2: So I'm like, okay, how do I you know, like,
- 27:43Speaker 2: how do I?
- 27:43Speaker 4: Oh?
- 27:43Speaker 1: His part was already on it?
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 2: So I'm like, one day, hell, am I gonna say
- 27:49Speaker 2: all this not gonna compete with what he wrote? You know?
- 27:51Speaker 2: And I'm just like they're stressed and all, Like I
- 27:53Speaker 2: would I find O my brother came with me because
- 27:55Speaker 2: he's also really talented. She was like, relax, relocks. He
- 27:58Speaker 2: helped me write.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I was like, is your brother they were younger, younger, okay.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he's like he came, He's like relax. She's just
- 28:03Speaker 2: being really like supportive. And I went in. I recorded it,
- 28:07Speaker 2: and after recorded, they were like, we look, you want
- 28:09Speaker 2: to take Neil off this song and just like give
- 28:11Speaker 2: it to you because they like they like my stuff
- 28:14Speaker 2: so much. They were like, we actually want to hear
- 28:16Speaker 2: more of you on this song, like we want to
- 28:17Speaker 2: take like some of what he did. I'm like, shit, okay, Like.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I was feeling myself for the win, Okay, I like
- 28:26Speaker 1: this story.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Yeah. So then they decided we want to work on
- 28:30Speaker 2: That's kind of what got me here today. I've been
- 28:32Speaker 2: working with them for like a year now, and that's
- 28:35Speaker 2: oh man, well.
- 28:37Speaker 1: They I saw I to Shan. I was doing some
- 28:40Speaker 1: other stuff with Sashan and he mentioned you, So I
- 28:42Speaker 1: started following you. That's how I know all your stuff, Like, oh,
- 28:45Speaker 1: you actually know alliced that I've been following you. But
- 28:48Speaker 1: to Son, he was like, take it care of her,
- 28:50Speaker 1: be careful with her all this stuff. I'm like design
- 28:53Speaker 1: I got this and then I didn't take.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Any of this. He's like, why does the lady ignored me?
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but that camp is really loyal, like really loyal.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Like once you're cool with them, you're good for life.
- 29:04Speaker 2: It's so true. They really are. They really are.
- 29:06Speaker 1: So what are some of the like downfalls that you've
- 29:09Speaker 1: hit so far in the industry.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I wouldn't say I've had that many downfalls in the industry.
- 29:14Speaker 2: I feel like they major downfalls. I I was just
- 29:16Speaker 2: even getting here to begin my journey, like being stuck
- 29:20Speaker 2: in COVID, having no phone, like having to do all
- 29:23Speaker 2: these like random side jobs because like everything was closing COVID.
- 29:26Speaker 2: You couldn't get a job. It was like really hard
- 29:28Speaker 2: to Like.
- 29:28Speaker 1: How old were you at that time? Like I was
- 29:30Speaker 1: not trying to age you, but he's like really nineteen, yeah, okay,
- 29:34Speaker 1: So I was like I was like, what the heck?
- 29:36Speaker 2: I didn't know what to do. So I was just stressed.
- 29:39Speaker 2: So like because my dad is away, it's just us,
- 29:41Speaker 2: Like he was really like he wasn't talking to us,
- 29:43Speaker 2: like we was just usday and we were like we
- 29:45Speaker 2: are like children, like what are we supposed to do?
- 29:48Speaker 2: And so that was really stressful, like we were struggling.
- 29:52Speaker 2: This was all me, like we have none to eat.
- 29:54Speaker 2: This is all like this was like we had when
- 29:57Speaker 2: you have no buddy, because like you are like like
- 29:59Speaker 2: this what we were eating. So that's kind of how
- 30:02Speaker 2: it was really hard. Like I didn't have a phone
- 30:04Speaker 2: until I go to America. I was so happy I
- 30:06Speaker 2: got this one. I was like, I have a phone,
- 30:08Speaker 2: like you know, excited, and I was also happy to
- 30:10Speaker 2: have my little phone, Like it was really great, Like
- 30:13Speaker 2: that whole process of just getting here, like applying for
- 30:15Speaker 2: a visa all of that, like so you.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Guys have to have to do a work visa and
- 30:18Speaker 1: all that. Now does the whole Trump thing scare you
- 30:21Speaker 1: at all?
- 30:22Speaker 2: Just? Yeah, I literally had a night man I got
- 30:24Speaker 2: the pot, Like really, yes, it's so scary. I hope
- 30:29Speaker 2: that nothing, you know, I don't hope nothing changes and
- 30:32Speaker 2: the realm of what I have to do, but it's
- 30:35Speaker 2: very scary.
- 30:36Speaker 1: My mom is jamaking, as you know, and she didn't
- 30:39Speaker 1: get her citizenship till last year. I was like, Mom
- 30:43Speaker 1: and dad, what have you been doing for thirty years?
- 30:47Speaker 1: And you didn't fill out this family word the whole time?
- 30:50Speaker 1: But they do make it like if you have like
- 30:53Speaker 1: my mom, they had found some kind of like she
- 30:56Speaker 1: did something and got her in trouble or something. They
- 30:58Speaker 1: trying to track it from when she was like twenty
- 31:00Speaker 1: or something, and Eric Chryna, she was like, I don't
- 31:03Speaker 1: even think that's me, and they were trying to hold
- 31:05Speaker 1: up her whole everything for that. So they can be
- 31:08Speaker 1: a little weird, you know. So but that's not gonna
- 31:13Speaker 1: happen to you all.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Let's pray. Let's say pray because I really don't want that.
- 31:17Speaker 2: That's what works.
- 31:18Speaker 1: So you're fine. So then, like, what who else have
- 31:20Speaker 1: you worked with so far? Outside of Neon?
- 31:23Speaker 2: You know, Stargate. I had a session with them. We
- 31:25Speaker 2: did a really cool song. I did two songs with them,
- 31:28Speaker 2: and they really loved it. They have a school, I
- 31:30Speaker 2: don't know. They have a school hair called Lamp where
- 31:32Speaker 2: they only accept like fifty people and they basically like
- 31:36Speaker 2: it's either for artists, writers or producers, and they just
- 31:40Speaker 2: like it's an intensive, like nine month course where they
- 31:43Speaker 2: have to like make songs every week. And they love
- 31:46Speaker 2: my songs so much. They brought all of like their
- 31:48Speaker 2: students in I'm like made them do gang vocals on
- 31:51Speaker 2: the course and my song, I was like, that's.
- 31:52Speaker 1: So sweet, like I first, So it's like a natural
- 31:54Speaker 1: fit for you. Now, does the songwriting prices process feel
- 31:57Speaker 1: easier to you?
- 31:59Speaker 2: I feel like it is easier. I definitely have like
- 32:05Speaker 2: my own way of writing, Like I don't like I
- 32:08Speaker 2: don't like when it's a bunch of people in a room,
- 32:10Speaker 2: like I feel like flustered. I kind of need to
- 32:12Speaker 2: like collect my thoughts, like I'm very I need like quiet.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I can't function like a noise. So I do say
- 32:17Speaker 2: like I still need that kind of to myself because
- 32:19Speaker 2: I have like songwriters to friends, like they'll be like
- 32:22Speaker 2: everyone is screaming around and be like no, no, no, no.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I'm like, how the hell can you all even like
- 32:26Speaker 2: think when I can't. I can't do it.
- 32:28Speaker 1: So I can't even write, Like if you were to
- 32:30Speaker 1: talk to me while I'm texting, I would be like
- 32:31Speaker 1: retexting everything. Yeah you know what I'm saying. I like,
- 32:34Speaker 1: I can't multitask.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It's really hard.
- 32:36Speaker 1: So but when they do do songwriting sessions, they do
- 32:38Speaker 1: have like groups of people do it usually.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like always like one person or two,
- 32:43Speaker 2: Like they'll just bring people just to like help understand
- 32:46Speaker 2: because it's what I want, you know, is just to
- 32:48Speaker 2: help see if they can help me, you know, like
- 32:50Speaker 2: get to what I want to do quickly. But it's
- 32:52Speaker 2: really cool. I've worked with some really nice people in
- 32:54Speaker 2: La so far.
- 32:56Speaker 1: And how long are you in LA for?
- 32:58Speaker 2: I'm here till second. I've been here for a month.
- 33:02Speaker 2: It'll be a month in the second.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Oh I got just in time.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Yeah, because you would have left. Yeah I was. I
- 33:08Speaker 2: leave only second. But I've been here for a whole
- 33:09Speaker 2: month and you like it. Yeah, Well, I didn't really
- 33:13Speaker 2: get to do anything like fun. It's probably like the
- 33:15Speaker 2: most fun I've had since I've hit really because I
- 33:17Speaker 2: don't get to go. All I'm doing is like doing
- 33:19Speaker 2: week stuff, so I haven't got to expool and nothing
- 33:21Speaker 2: like that.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of some cool stuff stuff you
- 33:25Speaker 1: can do. I like to do creative stuff too. Yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: but I have a three year old, so I live
- 33:32Speaker 1: like a kid again. I love that sounds a little crazy,
- 33:35Speaker 1: but i'd be like, what fun. They got the largest
- 33:37Speaker 1: bounce house out here, the largest. I'm with it.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I love that. I don't know why, like we somehow
- 33:44Speaker 2: made it up. Taking where all the people all the
- 33:46Speaker 2: people can't like do kid like yes, Like I want
- 33:49Speaker 2: my bady to have a bouone sea house. I want
- 33:51Speaker 2: to have goodie bogs and with my snocks when I leave, Like,
- 33:54Speaker 2: why we can't have that?
- 33:55Speaker 1: I feel like we should have that though, Like I
- 33:57Speaker 1: feel like once I had a kid, I got an
- 33:59Speaker 1: excuse to do it because I promised you I'll be
- 34:02Speaker 1: I'll be that parent that look up all the cool
- 34:04Speaker 1: stuff and I'm like, yo, let's go do this and
- 34:06Speaker 1: then some of the cool places, Like I'm really into VR.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I don't. I've never tried it. Never.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah, girl, I'm gonna send you some links. But there's
- 34:17Speaker 1: there's like places you can go where it's like all
- 34:19Speaker 1: virtual reality and you put on the headsets and you're
- 34:21Speaker 1: all in this world.
- 34:22Speaker 2: That's not scary. I'll be like, well I love it.
- 34:25Speaker 1: No you won't. No, you won't, No, you won't. If
- 34:28Speaker 1: you could eat pepper sauce. I forgot it was pepper
- 34:32Speaker 1: sauce for a second and I put it on while
- 34:34Speaker 1: you were talking. I was like, I keep going back
- 34:36Speaker 1: to it because like my mouth it clears, like the
- 34:39Speaker 1: pepper feeling clears, and then I'm like, oh, it's not
- 34:42Speaker 1: that bad, and then I go in for more and
- 34:43Speaker 1: I'm like, oh no, it's still bad. But every time
- 34:46Speaker 1: the pepper goes away, maybe my mouth is healing from
- 34:50Speaker 1: the bands.
- 34:51Speaker 2: It's good. I feel like you'll have a love hate relationship. Yes,
- 34:54Speaker 2: we love it.
- 34:55Speaker 1: You know, I wish you and kool Aid had a
- 34:57Speaker 1: love hate relationship.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Okay, we went with you, you know we baby steps baby steps.
- 35:02Speaker 1: So are their producers and artists that you want to
- 35:05Speaker 1: work with?
- 35:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like I love I love you know, like
- 35:11Speaker 2: career music. I've always loved Russian and I feel like
- 35:13Speaker 2: he's super talented and London only track. I always wanted
- 35:17Speaker 2: to work with him. There's so many I feel like
- 35:21Speaker 2: I assume you don't even ask him on something and
- 35:22Speaker 2: you know the answer as soon as you get asked.
- 35:24Speaker 1: You Like, that's how I feel when people ask me,
- 35:26Speaker 1: like who who's been on the eating will broke?
- 35:28Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, oh hell no, yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I should know the answer, but I can't say now
- 35:32Speaker 1: one name. I'll be like that question.
- 35:36Speaker 2: But a lot of people I wanted to I've had
- 35:38Speaker 2: the chance to work with. But those are people that
- 35:40Speaker 2: can think of off the top of my head. But
- 35:42Speaker 2: there's so much more, like there's so many talented people.
- 35:45Speaker 2: A lot of people in the UK. Two they're so talented,
- 35:47Speaker 2: the autist only producers it, I feel like.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And you've been to the UK too.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:52Speaker 1: So now since your career is still fairly new, let's
- 35:58Speaker 1: go back to home life in Trinidad, Like, tell me
- 36:00Speaker 1: more about that and what led you into music.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Well, my mom when she was younger, she was in
- 36:07Speaker 2: a bond, so she would always like do music, Like
- 36:09Speaker 2: it was always like in the house. And I feel
- 36:12Speaker 2: like you just growing up to your creame, you had
- 36:13Speaker 2: a lot of different types of music because there's so
- 36:15Speaker 2: much culture, there's so many different backgrounds. You hear all
- 36:18Speaker 2: kinds of music. So I always just felt connected to it.
- 36:21Speaker 2: In school from like your from the age of four,
- 36:24Speaker 2: in like primary school in Trinidad, like you have to
- 36:26Speaker 2: be playing pand like you can't even reach the pond
- 36:29Speaker 2: and they have you in school like playing pand like
- 36:31Speaker 2: you it's always just embedded in the culture, like we
- 36:33Speaker 2: always like learning about music. So that's kind of how
- 36:38Speaker 2: I would say, how did your mom take it? She's supportive.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Now I feel like everyone is a lot more supportive
- 36:44Speaker 2: now from jump. It was kind of like, you know,
- 36:46Speaker 2: a little I'm not a little shaky, but now she
- 36:50Speaker 2: definitely is more supportive. Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And then with your mom and dad, they're separated obviously,
- 36:56Speaker 1: how did it come out where you end up living
- 36:58Speaker 1: with your dad and not your mom.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Well, because she lives in Trinidad still and he is
- 37:03Speaker 2: still in Florida.
- 37:04Speaker 1: So but you said during COVID, like your brother and
- 37:07Speaker 1: you were by yourselves and your mom was somewhere else,
- 37:11Speaker 1: So how did that happen?
- 37:13Speaker 2: That was the whole was the whole situation that would
- 37:17Speaker 2: but like we were just there for the while and
- 37:20Speaker 2: then until like I would we would go there to
- 37:23Speaker 2: like to a home from time to time, but she
- 37:25Speaker 2: only had two bedrooms, so that we both couldn't go.
- 37:28Speaker 2: We wouldn't want to like leave one of like we
- 37:29Speaker 2: wouldn't want to abandon one another, so we just rode it,
- 37:32Speaker 2: you know, like stay together and stead of you know,
- 37:34Speaker 2: just leaving one to go because it felt unfait, you know,
- 37:36Speaker 2: So that's kind of what we have to do.
- 37:39Speaker 1: And then but when your dad was in the state
- 37:41Speaker 1: in Trinidad, you guys would just rotate. Yeah, okay, okay, yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 1: So and then are your parents close? Are they cool
- 37:48Speaker 1: or they not talk?
- 37:49Speaker 2: They definitely have an interesting relationship.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Okay, it's definitely interesting.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I would say, yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 1: So what is your music about?
- 37:58Speaker 3: Now?
- 37:59Speaker 2: It's really I'm really your love of good my love
- 38:01Speaker 2: a gool fez. It's always about music in some way,
- 38:05Speaker 2: love music yet so loving.
- 38:09Speaker 1: So I was like, damn, she must really love music,
- 38:11Speaker 1: just just writing songs about how she loved music.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I'm screwing.
- 38:15Speaker 1: No.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yeah, like you know, love, heartbreak, you know, just things
- 38:19Speaker 2: that you go through in life. Everyone goes too that
- 38:21Speaker 2: they can relate to.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Are you dating now that you're in the States?
- 38:24Speaker 2: What do you mean by that? Do you mean? What
- 38:29Speaker 2: does that mean?
- 38:30Speaker 1: Are you in a committed relationship?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Am I'm gonna committed relationship?
- 38:40Speaker 3: You are?
- 38:41Speaker 2: God Like, we're very close. I love God Jesus, you know,
- 38:46Speaker 2: being a very committed relationship.
- 38:48Speaker 4: I would say, yes, are you dating? Damn, I'm having
- 38:59Speaker 4: you up like, I'm like, yeah, let's say that.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, when I say gild be the definition you
- 39:08Speaker 1: went on bumbo for a friendship?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Right?
- 39:12Speaker 1: Do you ever go on bumbo for dating?
- 39:16Speaker 2: No?
- 39:17Speaker 1: Why because you can walk outside and they just fighting
- 39:19Speaker 1: each other?
- 39:20Speaker 3: Huh.
- 39:21Speaker 2: I don't. I'm really scared of men, genuinely scared of them.
- 39:25Speaker 2: So I just you don't see my little bubble. You know.
- 39:28Speaker 2: I'm definitely in my me era, like it's all about me.
- 39:31Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't be looking for me. Sometimes I
- 39:34Speaker 2: would look see like you say, bumble, like I would look,
- 39:37Speaker 2: but nothing the intentions of actually going on a date.
- 39:39Speaker 2: So it's like, that's what I'm saying, you'll just.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Be like any of these guys looking like Michael B. Jordan,
- 39:45Speaker 1: That's what I would That's what if I was doing it,
- 39:49Speaker 1: I were to do the swipes. I'm looking for Michael,
- 39:53Speaker 1: that's your type. B Let me tell you something I
- 39:56Speaker 1: tell my husband, like, I don't see, I don't. I'm
- 40:00Speaker 1: not a cheater. But if Michael B. Jordan does an
- 40:04Speaker 1: episode of Eating Wall Broke, let's just say, first of all,
- 40:11Speaker 1: she's not cheating. If you tell the person right, I
- 40:15Speaker 1: would be like, look, it's there's no exception to every rule. Okay,
- 40:21Speaker 1: And Michael be as long as he sounds like how
- 40:24Speaker 1: he is in the movies, because you know some of
- 40:25Speaker 1: these guys they act a certain way and then in
- 40:27Speaker 1: real life they're like, oh my god. Really, like if
- 40:29Speaker 1: he talks like that, it's a rap. Michael B. Jordan
- 40:33Speaker 1: is immediately kicked off the list. Or if he's an asshole,
- 40:36Speaker 1: or if he's too like feminine, or if he's too feminine,
- 40:41Speaker 1: then yes, there's stuff he could do that could mess
- 40:44Speaker 1: it up.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I agree.
- 40:45Speaker 1: But if Michael B. Jordan doesn't talk and has Hella
- 40:49Speaker 1: masculinity and then smiles with the dimples, it's a rap.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Y'all.
- 40:54Speaker 1: You ain't even got a wonder, You ain't got a question.
- 40:57Speaker 1: You know we had that was on the show.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Who was hella?
- 40:59Speaker 1: Fun me? Yes, you are beautiful? Mario?
- 41:03Speaker 2: Oh really? Girl? Yeah? Girl?
- 41:07Speaker 1: Did you see him in person? I don't think I've
- 41:09Speaker 1: seen it. When you see him in person, That's how
- 41:11Speaker 1: I felt. Then he showed up and.
- 41:12Speaker 2: I love him. I love it.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Do you ever have someone where you see them and
- 41:16Speaker 1: they're like, oh cool, cool, Mario showed up A girl.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I was.
- 41:20Speaker 1: He licked the we was making a cake and he
- 41:24Speaker 1: was looking that SPECULA.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Girl.
- 41:29Speaker 3: I was.
- 41:30Speaker 2: I was.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I love Watch the Mario episode if you haven't, it
- 41:34Speaker 1: is a funny episode because I was like, please ask
- 41:37Speaker 1: my number, please ask for my number, please your husband
- 41:40Speaker 1: just he gave one of the producers here my number,
- 41:44Speaker 1: and I was like, for real, he gave a producer
- 41:47Speaker 1: and I was like, on the producer, like, you know,
- 41:49Speaker 1: he probably he probably met that.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Number for me. He definitely was. You should few.
- 41:59Speaker 1: I think I hear Neo up, like Mario up, like
- 42:02Speaker 1: I said something like yeah, just so you know, there
- 42:05Speaker 1: was a part of the episode that was kind of no.
- 42:07Speaker 1: So we just pulled that part and he was.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Like okay, and I was like, you're not gonna ask
- 42:12Speaker 2: you to.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Dig like nothing, nothing.
- 42:15Speaker 2: He didn't give it.
- 42:16Speaker 1: It was nothing. And I don't remember if I make
- 42:19Speaker 1: a good that.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Day, I think what he's playing again?
- 42:23Speaker 1: No, no, don't tell me that. One of those No,
- 42:27Speaker 1: if you one hit you're not interested, I will gladly
- 42:31Speaker 1: take the hand. I'm one of those like if you
- 42:32Speaker 1: break up with me, you will never hear from me again, Like,
- 42:36Speaker 1: oh breaking up, that's great, and I will go and
- 42:39Speaker 1: I will cry for a month to my girlfriends like nauseum.
- 42:44Speaker 1: You know, write poems, listen to sad music. But when
- 42:47Speaker 1: you see me, poker face, baby, you ain't a perfect
- 42:52Speaker 1: I'm never gonna hear no what you're thinking about.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Never never, No.
- 43:00Speaker 1: But Mario said you didn't even play the game of
- 43:02Speaker 1: flirt whatever you know. But Michael B. I don't know.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I made to say, look, Mike, I know you ain't interested,
- 43:11Speaker 1: but you know, everyone gotta take one for a team.
- 43:12Speaker 1: You can't tell me that you ain't hooked up with
- 43:14Speaker 1: somebody you ain't interested in before. I'm sure you had
- 43:18Speaker 1: a random night.
- 43:19Speaker 2: He definitely has.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I feel like on the street word on the street
- 43:25Speaker 1: about Michael B. Boy, I heard me in the streets, yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 1: which means I have a shot.
- 43:31Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 43:33Speaker 1: You for the streets and you on my crust for life.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I have a shot. Okay, guys.
- 43:39Speaker 2: See, like I'm at love a girl, I can't have
- 43:41Speaker 2: anyone who's for the streets, like I really am too sensitive.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Good luck in America.
- 43:45Speaker 2: I know, America man so horrible.
- 43:47Speaker 1: You gotta go to like a small town like North Carolina.
- 43:52Speaker 1: I want to go somewhere small. But if La Miami
- 43:55Speaker 1: Gul's tripping, you're.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Tripping and they're like come no, soub, they don't have
- 44:00Speaker 2: a conversation.
- 44:02Speaker 3: No.
- 44:02Speaker 1: That's why I said the second day opening mouth. You
- 44:04Speaker 1: heard me say that, Like Michael B. Jordan's fine, but
- 44:06Speaker 1: I know he could mess it up. Just one one
- 44:11Speaker 1: wrong over. That's all it takes for men. Men don't
- 44:13Speaker 1: realize this. Nob All it takes for you to mess
- 44:17Speaker 1: it up for yourself is just opening your mouth.
- 44:20Speaker 2: It's so real because I would say when you see
- 44:22Speaker 2: like you like his characters. There's so many characters that
- 44:24Speaker 2: I would see like on TV and I'm like, okay,
- 44:26Speaker 2: like we're in love. You're actually my boyfriend. You don't
- 44:29Speaker 2: know though we're in love. So like then i would
- 44:33Speaker 2: kind of like see some interviews with them and I'm
- 44:35Speaker 2: just like, I'm like, you don't have the same energy,
- 44:38Speaker 2: like I needed that character.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Like I heard I hate to do this here. I
- 44:42Speaker 1: heard Vin Diesel talks like a valley guy, like oh
- 44:45Speaker 1: my god, really, and I was like, Ben.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Diesel, No, hey, that's crazy.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Yeah, but Michael be I haven't graded my family for
- 44:53Speaker 1: such a long time, since I had a crush on
- 44:55Speaker 1: him since I was like fourteen. My sister, she is
- 45:00Speaker 1: so delusional. She'd be like, you know, he's gonna be
- 45:04Speaker 1: your husband, and I'll be like, like, I'm already married,
- 45:09Speaker 1: don't worry about that. Like she's still she biteing she
- 45:13Speaker 1: really believes in the dream. And then she'd be like,
- 45:15Speaker 1: you know, hope you all eating while broke and you
- 45:17Speaker 1: know y'all will get married and that's really my brother
- 45:19Speaker 1: in law. I'm like, oh, you're a delusional I need.
- 45:21Speaker 2: People like that around me. I need delusion, you know
- 45:24Speaker 2: what I mean? Like, I feel like, does you want
- 45:26Speaker 2: to me to be happy in this life? To have
- 45:27Speaker 2: a little bit of the notion?
- 45:28Speaker 1: I have delusional friends because I had one girl. She's like, oh,
- 45:31Speaker 1: you got Mars's number and you wanted to fuck girl.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Let me tell you what you're gonna do over here,
- 45:36Speaker 1: And I'm like, you are not a good friend. I'm
- 45:39Speaker 1: going to get a restraining order by accident. They like
- 45:42Speaker 1: just show up and say this and yeah, it doesn't creasy.
- 45:47Speaker 1: My sister. I let her live in her fantasy world,
- 45:51Speaker 1: but she pulls up his profile. I don't I don't
- 45:53Speaker 1: know if I follow him or not, but she'll pull
- 45:55Speaker 1: up his profile and I'll be like, you know, when
- 45:57Speaker 1: you into someone, you'd be like, oh wait, that's what
- 45:59Speaker 1: they look like. Oh he wearing an apron. Oh you
- 46:02Speaker 1: see the way he played with that life And she'd
- 46:05Speaker 1: be like, can I have my phone back? And be
- 46:06Speaker 1: like give me a.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Couple of hours yeah exactly.
- 46:08Speaker 1: But I could talk about that man. But if you
- 46:10Speaker 1: end up, I tell my girlfriends who are hot, like,
- 46:13Speaker 1: if we're on a yacht, thank you. If we're on
- 46:16Speaker 1: a yacht somewhere, what are we doing and Michael B
- 46:20Speaker 1: is interested in you? You know, he comes up to us,
- 46:23Speaker 1: he like, I gotta choose and he interests you. I'll
- 46:26Speaker 1: say this to your face. What would I would say?
- 46:29Speaker 1: You get first and get said.
- 46:33Speaker 2: It's all you.
- 46:34Speaker 1: I was, no, No, I will really him in, No,
- 46:40Speaker 1: I will.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I would want study bread so good like he like,
- 46:43Speaker 2: I'll be like did you know what she No.
- 46:46Speaker 1: No, I already told my neighbor. I told my neighbor
- 46:48Speaker 1: I will be. You could be the maid, and this
- 46:50Speaker 1: will be the time that I accept side. I will be.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I will be your side.
- 46:56Speaker 2: I wonder for you like I was fine. That s it,
- 46:58Speaker 2: like I'm a sweet to I'll do girls, Michael No.
- 47:01Speaker 1: If I told my friends, if we are on a
- 47:04Speaker 1: boat somewhere, one of us get picked. When I'm going
- 47:08Speaker 1: to be the side, I get it. There's no way
- 47:11Speaker 1: you're gonna turn out, Michael B. I hate that like
- 47:13Speaker 1: friends where it's like the one hot guy and everybody
- 47:15Speaker 1: thinks he's tint and they're like, well you touched. No,
- 47:18Speaker 1: Michael B. Jordan is the exception to the rule, and
- 47:20Speaker 1: my girls know it. You know, he's probably for the streets.
- 47:23Speaker 1: You get a verse and you know what, I will
- 47:25Speaker 1: be aside and if we pass them on to the next.
- 47:29Speaker 2: I feel like I'm I feel like, I love that
- 47:31Speaker 2: you're willing, but I'm not gonna touch it up. So
- 47:33Speaker 2: it's just you like, it's all poor Michael's hating.
- 47:37Speaker 1: He's like, don't be friends. He's probably watched us. Don't
- 47:39Speaker 1: be friends. Don't be friends, don't be friends. Don't be
- 47:43Speaker 1: friends please, and the interview we're not friends. Okay, enough
- 47:47Speaker 1: about him. Okay, So is there anything that our your
- 47:51Speaker 1: fans should know about, says Chimbero.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Question.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like I'm very goofy. People don't know
- 47:58Speaker 2: the I got them feel like they know I'm super just.
- 48:03Speaker 2: I have like a very dry sense of humor. So
- 48:05Speaker 2: sometimes people will see me and be like, oh, she's
- 48:07Speaker 2: a bitch, but I'm not a bitch.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Shen't come off like a bit.
- 48:09Speaker 2: People think that like most people. Let I know that
- 48:12Speaker 2: they'll come on to me and told me like, oh
- 48:13Speaker 2: they think my bitch. I don't know, it's them like projecting.
- 48:15Speaker 1: They're definitely projecting.
- 48:16Speaker 2: But I've got I got us so many times it's like,
- 48:18Speaker 2: oh my god, you're actually like super nice. So you
- 48:20Speaker 2: were alsome, Like I just be sitting here.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I felt like my team was a little shy.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Yeah, like people be thinking I'm like me like I'm
- 48:27Speaker 2: gonna bite them or something. I'm so nice. The only thing, like,
- 48:30Speaker 2: no one be talking to me, like, oh they're flucking,
- 48:32Speaker 2: Like people are scared of me. They don't be talking
- 48:34Speaker 2: to me. You should like, no one talks to me
- 48:37Speaker 2: like I'm yeah, and guys.
- 48:40Speaker 1: That's you know how I know it's girls and guys
- 48:41Speaker 1: because he was on bumble and we got to roast
- 48:44Speaker 1: you and your friend for the rest of your life
- 48:48Speaker 1: because she thinks it's bad. But you don't seem to
- 48:50Speaker 1: see nothing wrong with it. You find us. But I'm
- 48:53Speaker 1: not gonna tell you. I'm not gonna lie. Like if
- 48:55Speaker 1: I move to a new state, like I've been considering
- 48:57Speaker 1: moving to another state, and I was like, how would
- 49:00Speaker 1: I make friends? Like this is a true thought, and
- 49:03Speaker 1: I was like, how would I, Like, how do I
- 49:05Speaker 1: make friends as an old person? Because that's kind of weird.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Hey do you want to be my friend? But I
- 49:11Speaker 1: did not know that they had that feature. So now
- 49:13Speaker 1: I know if I moved to a new state, God forbid.
- 49:15Speaker 1: We are swiping and we see each other and be like, oh,
- 49:18Speaker 1: CODs looking for friends.
- 49:20Speaker 2: It's so good, Like it really is good. I've tell
- 49:24Speaker 2: them you can be good people on there, like actual friendship.
- 49:27Speaker 1: You made one friend, I made one friend.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I made like a few friends, but like that's just
- 49:32Speaker 2: my you know my.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Do you ever introduce the friends?
- 49:36Speaker 2: No, yeah, I don't.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I don't really cross conteminating, yes I love Yeah I don't.
- 49:42Speaker 1: But I recently I had two So I have two
- 49:44Speaker 1: best friends in New York, right, and they never really
- 49:48Speaker 1: met each other because I went to two different high schools.
- 49:50Speaker 1: And then I one day one bought a house and
- 49:54Speaker 1: I was like, oh, we got to go celebrate, and
- 49:56Speaker 1: I was like, yo, let me bring the other one.
- 49:58Speaker 1: And now but I I say, I don't know why
- 50:00Speaker 1: I did this. Didn't do this years ago because I
- 50:02Speaker 1: don't believe in cross connect contaminating friends. But now I
- 50:06Speaker 1: just go in a group chat, Hey, guys are coming
- 50:08Speaker 1: to New York with and they all interact they all friends,
- 50:12Speaker 1: and I'm like.
- 50:12Speaker 2: That's great. I love that I did this for years.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I always split my time. But now but that's
- 50:18Speaker 1: that's the once in a blue moment that doesn't always.
- 50:20Speaker 2: I want to like she met so when she came
- 50:22Speaker 2: to she met some of my friends. I just don't
- 50:24Speaker 2: know if she will class at all them. She's a
- 50:26Speaker 2: very you know, distincts like she will blend with like everybody.
- 50:31Speaker 2: But I did blend a good few people in Trinidad
- 50:34Speaker 2: and it was good.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Was she like that's my real friend and You're like, well,
- 50:37Speaker 1: it's just you know, gradual.
- 50:39Speaker 2: No, she's like very like like you know, like really
- 50:43Speaker 2: that's my best friend, and like she don't. She don't
- 50:45Speaker 2: like to share. She's very you know, like territorial. So
- 50:47Speaker 2: I'll be like talking to my friend. She's like like watching,
- 50:50Speaker 2: like why, like you're fine.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Yeah, there are people that I like them. My twins
- 51:00Speaker 1: kind of like that where she like, this is my friend.
- 51:03Speaker 2: I like that too, Like I'm not like that.
- 51:07Speaker 1: I'm not like that. I am not like that. I
- 51:09Speaker 1: have best friends in New York and y'all all know
- 51:11Speaker 1: who you are, but I have no problem sharing you.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Yeah. My thing is like if you just like like
- 51:16Speaker 2: I'm not with her, but like in general, like if
- 51:18Speaker 2: you have a friend group but it's like you feel
- 51:19Speaker 2: like really left, and I'll be like, well, why you
- 51:22Speaker 2: might not be included, you know, especially if you could
- 51:24Speaker 2: be that's the only situation, but that's never happened, but
- 51:27Speaker 2: like that's the only thing I could think of it.
- 51:28Speaker 2: It's like I will feel the type of way I
- 51:31Speaker 2: got to tell you this story. Let me hear it.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Okay, so I took this girl from LA to New York.
- 51:35Speaker 2: I'm already not loving this.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Oh it in bad. Yeah, So I took the girls
- 51:39Speaker 1: in New York. And I'm kind of a square bear,
- 51:42Speaker 1: Like I don't really I don't like going to the club.
- 51:44Speaker 1: I don't like drinks. I'm not a drinker, even though
- 51:46Speaker 1: your song two shots works for me because two drinks
- 51:49Speaker 1: is my absolute max exactly. Does only need like the
- 51:53Speaker 1: second drink, You're I'm pretty much done, okay, but the
- 51:59Speaker 1: first I'm feeling it, but secondary I could be done.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:02Speaker 1: And so this girl she meets my girlfriends and she
- 52:05Speaker 1: thinks they're super cool. Right, but then I became the
- 52:11Speaker 1: uncool person. Do you know this girl ended our friendship?
- 52:15Speaker 1: I hope she doesn't see this friendship and wanted to
- 52:19Speaker 1: be friends with my friends, and my friends still clown
- 52:23Speaker 1: me to this day about it. They'd be like, hey,
- 52:25Speaker 1: we're gonna bite such as us like y'all, but they
- 52:28Speaker 1: clown me because they know it's fucked up. But they
- 52:30Speaker 1: she thought they were cooler than me, and I felt
- 52:33Speaker 1: some type of way because I was like, Damn, I
- 52:34Speaker 1: brought you home. That's like if you I go to
- 52:36Speaker 1: Trinidad with you, like your friends are cooler than you,
- 52:40Speaker 1: you'd be like, damn I brought you. Could you imagine that?
- 52:42Speaker 1: Feeling like you brought me home? Yeah, then I like
- 52:46Speaker 1: your friends more than you.
- 52:48Speaker 2: That it hurts me.
- 52:51Speaker 1: I felt like, damn, I shouldn't show you. It actually
- 52:54Speaker 1: made me feel like if you someone gets to know
- 52:58Speaker 1: you and then they don't really.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Like you, that's like it's so messed up.
- 53:02Speaker 1: It was hard, but I know it was because I
- 53:05Speaker 1: wasn't like a partying type, and she saw that I
- 53:07Speaker 1: was really who I am because she knew. But yeah, yeah,
- 53:11Speaker 1: she ended up like my friends more than me. And
- 53:13Speaker 1: I was like, I'm never ever taking a girl back
- 53:16Speaker 1: home with me. No, that's I would never I f
- 53:18Speaker 1: you're like, oh, I want to go to New York
- 53:20Speaker 1: and be like no.
- 53:22Speaker 2: No, see, like I feel like to me, I've had
- 53:25Speaker 2: something like that happened to me too, but not like
- 53:27Speaker 2: point where they thought they were cooler to me because
- 53:31Speaker 2: like no, they say it, but they showed it. Yeah,
- 53:35Speaker 2: I didn't have that. It was more so like that
- 53:39Speaker 2: they wanted to be me like I had it, where
- 53:41Speaker 2: like they'll be on my friends and they would like
- 53:43Speaker 2: spread lives about me to try and get people to
- 53:45Speaker 2: tune against me, and then they would just start acting
- 53:47Speaker 2: like yeah I've had that happened like twice.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Oh no, Yeah, that's not good.
- 53:53Speaker 2: It's very hard. I feel like it's super hard to
- 53:55Speaker 2: make friends as a girl, like when you're pretty, Like
- 53:58Speaker 2: it's hard.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Well, me and my twin have this thing where like
- 54:03Speaker 1: if you're pretty, then we have to be friends. Yeah,
- 54:06Speaker 1: because like pretty people have to stick together exactly terrible.
- 54:10Speaker 1: But now we're like, oh girl, are you beautiful? What's
- 54:13Speaker 1: that not matter? Let's be friends.
- 54:15Speaker 2: See that's what I need. Like my best friend is
- 54:17Speaker 2: like because she's beautiful too, it's like you just jealous,
- 54:20Speaker 2: Like why are you jealous? We can both be beautiful
- 54:22Speaker 2: it's not a competition, you know. I don't get that.
- 54:25Speaker 1: Because I feel like, hopefully you'll see more that in La.
- 54:28Speaker 1: But you know, are you gonna plan to move to
- 54:30Speaker 1: La because Miami is kind of a tricky spot for music.
- 54:33Speaker 1: I would imagine.
- 54:34Speaker 2: I'm definitely open to moving. It's just like, my father's
- 54:37Speaker 2: in Florida, and like I'm very close to like my family,
- 54:39Speaker 2: so it's like, dom, I don't want to be so
- 54:41Speaker 2: far away from them.
- 54:43Speaker 1: And what's your dad doing in Florida?
- 54:45Speaker 2: He just does, Like here's a few businesses there, so
- 54:48Speaker 2: he just the team. He would he would, but it's.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Just like and your brother's still in Trinidad.
- 54:55Speaker 2: No, he's in Florida too. No, he came tell the
- 54:57Speaker 2: whole team.
- 54:57Speaker 1: To move to La. I'll be honest. It's not that great,
- 55:01Speaker 1: but you know for music, yeah, he was.
- 55:03Speaker 2: We were talking about it yesterday. Definitely, like in talks
- 55:05Speaker 2: about it.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Yeah, because Florida's cool, but it's not.
- 55:09Speaker 2: There's a lot of more people coming there from music,
- 55:11Speaker 2: like as of recent but it's not the same, you know,
- 55:13Speaker 2: it's not.
- 55:14Speaker 1: No, but all right, well, how are you gonna do
- 55:18Speaker 1: a little home for us?
- 55:19Speaker 3: And no?
- 55:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sing it not really Yeah, just see the
- 55:25Speaker 1: single too nosey for. I did a test with Neoh
- 55:29Speaker 1: and Neo was like, let's see if you're tone deaf.
- 55:32Speaker 2: Oh god, all.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Right, I'm gonna tell you a little backstory about this episode. Okay, okay,
- 55:36Speaker 1: I was secretly sick, but I it was during COVID,
- 55:39Speaker 1: and you know when you're sick during COVID, everybody assumes
- 55:41Speaker 1: you have COVID, and they gave me a date to
- 55:45Speaker 1: shoot a NEO. Now, if you have common sense, you
- 55:47Speaker 1: are not going to be like I have COVID, can
- 55:49Speaker 1: we reschedule? Or I'm sick? Can we reschedule? So if
- 55:53Speaker 1: Shawn never sees this, I was sucking on high methol
- 55:57Speaker 1: cough drops during that whole taping. I'm not to sniffle.
- 56:01Speaker 1: And then Neil was like, let's see if you're tone deaf.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Bro I was sick. Okay, I was sick, sick.
- 56:07Speaker 2: I mean, I need to see this.
- 56:09Speaker 1: I'm like the whole time I was thinking about my
- 56:12Speaker 1: like sickness, like trying to hide this sickness. I kept
- 56:14Speaker 1: telling them like, oh, I think I have allergies. Because
- 56:17Speaker 1: we recorded in his studio over there, like we flew
- 56:19Speaker 1: in over there and his smoke alarm was going off
- 56:22Speaker 1: the whole time. To this day, like people hate that
- 56:24Speaker 1: episode because there's like a baby oh yeah, But the
- 56:29Speaker 1: truth is I was more concerned about them finding out
- 56:32Speaker 1: that I was sick. So he did do a test
- 56:34Speaker 1: on whether I was tone deaf.
- 56:36Speaker 2: How did you do?
- 56:37Speaker 1: I was tone deaf? But I don't think it was
- 56:39Speaker 1: a fair test because I was technically sick and I
- 56:43Speaker 1: was trying so not to blow my cover. But just
- 56:46Speaker 1: so you know, no one in the camp knows that
- 56:50Speaker 1: I was secretly sick.
- 56:51Speaker 2: So you had COOVID for sure.
- 56:53Speaker 1: No, I didn't have COVID. I was just really sick.
- 56:55Speaker 1: But you know, during that time, they you know, people
- 56:58Speaker 1: was paranoid. So like gonna fly to Atlanta and be
- 57:02Speaker 1: like even though I heard Atlanta was living in the
- 57:04Speaker 1: streets the whole time. Really yeah, La was locked down.
- 57:07Speaker 1: But yeah that's the true story. But yes, I am
- 57:10Speaker 1: tone deaf, So no, I cannot sing.
- 57:12Speaker 2: I feel like you can. I have a get old vibe,
- 57:14Speaker 2: you know.
- 57:15Speaker 1: No, but I'll go to like a songwriting workshop with you.
- 57:18Speaker 2: It's fun. Yeah we should do that, but.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I would be like you in the corner, like please
- 57:22Speaker 1: stop talking.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Yeah that you got like a small rumins like not
- 57:27Speaker 2: a lot of people. Yeah, yeah you can do the.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, sing it girl, give us the Trinidaddy
- 57:33Speaker 1: and flavor.
- 57:33Speaker 2: I'm screaming you couldn't follow you. I told so much
- 57:38Speaker 2: show you. I'm trying to take my mind off everything
- 57:44Speaker 2: you do.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm gonna be like your friend.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Until we've each the vibe tonight. Yeah, I like my
- 57:58Speaker 2: voice is little going too.
- 58:00Speaker 1: But yeah, I love it. I love everything. How can
- 58:04Speaker 1: everyone keep up with?
- 58:05Speaker 2: Says well, my new song is coming up very soon
- 58:11Speaker 2: and two Shots is available on all platforms. Make sure
- 58:14Speaker 2: to check out two Shots you and just follow me
- 58:17Speaker 2: on Instagram, says on the score on the school official
- 58:20Speaker 2: and I have a link tree in there with all
