  generally of rating? Cause like, obviously I've been

  having my love hate relationship and the the current situation

  that I'm dealing with. But like, have you been enjoying

  rating? I've been enjoying it.

  We there's some really interesting fights going on,

  we've got some new mechanics that we haven't seen before and
• 1:08
  I feel like missing Mythic rating in general has been
• 1:12
  really good to me so far. So yeah, I've been having a

  really good time with it. That's great to hear.

  And so I know Sean would consider you a real player

  because you raid and everything, but you're also are a player

  after my own heart that loves to chase after the mounts.

  That is an advent. Sorry, an avid mount collector
• 1:34
  and I guess I will ask some likely questions first.

  So first of all, when did you get into mount collect?
• 1:41
  Let's start there. So I got into mount collecting
• 1:45
  in Burning Crusade right when you had to farm for Rep.
• 1:53
  I think my real first farm was nether wing farming the eggs
• 1:58
  'cause I got so tired of doing the dailies I just farmed the
• 2:01
  eggs. It took me 36 hours to go from
• 2:07
  honored to Exalted on one character.
• 2:12
  So I got all of my eggs, and that's really where it started.
• 2:15
  I just, I wanted all of the mounts.
• 2:16
  I wanted all the different appearances.
• 2:18
  I didn't care if they took up too many bag slots.
• 2:21
  I needed them. Man, going all the way back to
• 2:25
  Burning Crusade. So you've been at this for a
• 2:27
  while. When did you first start playing
• 2:28
  again? I first started playing
• 2:31
  seriously in Burning Crusade and my character that I play now is
• 2:36
  actually the hunter that I played in Burning Crusade.
• 2:39
  So she has been around a very long time.
• 2:43
  But I my first character was a druid in vanilla and I got to
• 2:50
  level 40. A friend gave me enough gold to
• 2:54
  purchase my first mount and then I quit.
• 2:57
  I was like, I'm not, I'm not doing this anymore.
• 3:01
  That is awesome. So what drew you back to the
• 3:03
  game then? The expansion came out and some
• 3:08
  friends were playing it, so I decided just to get back into it
• 3:11
  and I've been playing it ever since.
• 3:15
  That is, that is amazing. And so you jumped on, you left
• 3:19
  the druid behind, you jumped on a hunter.
• 3:22
  You've done a number of different classes over the
• 3:24
  years. I remember you like kicking butt
• 3:26
  on Warlock and Hunter and that what what have been the classes
• 3:31
  that you've stuck to most? I have the most played time on
• 3:36
  my druid, but hunter is really where I'm at home here lately.
• 3:44
  OK, and so of course you started farming the eggs to get those
• 3:50
  nether wings. Here's a here's a question I'm
• 3:54
  going to ask you to choose your darling.
• 3:55
  What are your? What's your favorite mount that
• 3:58
  comes to mind? So I actually, I have an answer
• 4:01
  for this and it's it's about the mount, but it's about the
• 4:06
  memory. My favorite mount of all time is
• 4:09
  going to be the Swiss Zolian Tiger.
• 4:12
  And I remember the first time I saw it, I was sitting in
• 4:16
  Stormwind, which is crazy because I have not played
• 4:19
  Alliance in a very, very long time.
• 4:22
  But I was sitting in the trade district in Stormwind.
• 4:25
  And I saw somebody on this mount and I messaged them and I was
• 4:29
  like, Oh my God, where did you get that?
• 4:31
  That's amazing. And the answer I got back was
• 4:35
  really rude. And I can't remember the exact
• 4:38
  wording, but he basically told me that I needed to go do the
• 4:41
  research myself. And I was like, OK, so I went
• 4:45
  and I researched it and realized that that mount was a little far
• 4:49
  out of my grasp at the moment, being as Zokerub was a 20 man
• 4:54
  raid at the time. But as time went on and it
• 5:00
  turned to Wrath that you had the ability to go in there with a
• 5:06
  couple people and farm it. I was on playing a druid at the
• 5:11
  time, a balance druid, and I got enough feral gear to tank those
• 5:19
  bosses that dropped mounts in that group with my husband at
• 5:23
  the time that was ironically a hunter, and we got both of them
• 5:29
  to drop and I won both of them and it was a rocky spot in our
• 5:33
  marriage for a while that I got both of the mounts.
• 5:38
  Oh no, I wish that was less common the story but I have
• 5:43
  heard similar. Well, he does not play Wow
• 5:46
  anymore and I still do, so I'm winning.
• 5:50
  There you go, there you go. And so was it the, was it that
• 5:56
  journey of like finally getting back to that mount that you'd
• 5:58
  saw so many years ago and earning that mount that makes
• 6:01
  that your favorite mount? It it really does that and it's
• 6:05
  it's, I worked so hard for it. It was one of the first mounts
• 6:09
  that I needed other people to help me get, and I felt like I
• 6:14
  persevered and found a way to farm.
• 6:17
  There were even sometimes where I could solo it by myself,
• 6:22
  timing my interrupts and stuff like that.
• 6:24
  As a player who didn't raid a whole lot at that point in time,
• 6:30
  it was quite a feat for me to be able to solo that.
• 6:35
  That is amazing. So then what makes for a good
• 6:40
  mount hunt for you? Is it those ones that you like
• 6:43
  work together as a team or like is there some other thing that
• 6:46
  you're like, this is the my favorite way to get earn amount?
• 6:50
  So for me, a good mount grind is one that feels obtainable
• 6:56
  whether it's through grinding or dedication or luck.
• 7:01
  One, that you don't have to rely too much on others because it's
• 7:08
  not always easy to find people who align with your perspective
• 7:14
  and your schedule to really get things done when you need to get
• 7:18
  them done. It's one of the big reasons why
• 7:22
  I think the 1% Mythic Plus mount is going to be one of the
• 7:27
  hardest mounts to get because you have to rely on so many
• 7:30
  other people and things just have to click consistently
• 7:34
  'cause it's not like you can come back to the game two weeks
• 7:40
  before the Mythic plus season ends and get that mount.
• 7:43
  The bar is constantly moving, it's constantly getting harder.
• 7:49
  So I just feel like a grind for me is 1 where I don't have to
• 7:53
  feel like I have to rely on other people too much to get to
• 7:57
  get that mount. The Vile Essences is is a really
• 8:02
  good example. I just finished that mount and I
• 8:05
  felt like that grind, while it was a grind and it felt like a
• 8:08
  lot, you could do it solo and it was completely attainable or you
• 8:13
  could do it in a group. So for the people at home who
• 8:18
  might not know about the vile essence and the how many of
• 8:20
  those you have to gather, give us a little bit of details about
• 8:23
  this. How exactly do you do this grind
• 8:26
  and what you get at the end of it?
• 8:28
  So the vile essence grind it takes place in Zolomon.
• 8:34
  There is a shrine esque place by Marcera caverns where there are
• 8:43
  some elites and you have to kill those elites for a chance to get
• 8:46
  them to drop vile essence. And you need 1000 vile essence
• 8:50
  to open a chest that has a mount in it.
• 8:54
  That mount is the Hexed Vile Feather Eagle.
• 9:02
  And these are dropping like two or three at a time, 10 or 20 at
• 9:06
  a time. What's What's this drop rate
• 9:08
  look like? Oh, you're lucky if you get one
• 9:12
  out of a pack of three. So it it takes a little bit, but
• 9:18
  you know, it can be done solo and it can definitely be done in
• 9:22
  a group of five. I would definitely do it now
• 9:26
  that there are people doing it rather than doing it solo later.
• 9:31
  It's going to it's going to feel like Deering gonna have to edit
• 9:38
  this pause out. I'm sorry.

  No, it's OK. I can't even remember the name

  of the expansion. I think, well what what was the
• 9:49
  grind like? Maybe I'll remember it based off

  of like that. The black claws, do you remember
• 9:55
  the black claws where you had to get 1000 black claws for amount
• 9:59
  it was in. I want to say it was in.

  No, I don't remember that one. Draynor.

  Yeah, it was in Fangrella in Tannon Jungle.

  OK, you get to get 1000 of those man.

  Yeah, and you had to get 1000 black claws for a bore mount.

  I'm pretty sure I've done that because I think Warlords of
• 10:30
  Draynor is one of the expansions where I've got every mount out
• 10:35
  of that except for except for the meta achievement one from
• 10:41
  BlackRock Foundry where you have to like throw the oar from one
• 10:45
  end to the other without the boss rolling over you that.
• 10:49
  Was a good one, that was. A good one, yeah, that's the one
• 10:52
  I wish I'd done in a group and not trying to solo.
• 10:54
  Yeah. OK, so then what's a horrible
• 11:01
  mount farm? Can you think of an example of
• 11:03
  that? There's not a lot of mount farms
• 11:11
  that I would say are horrible and wow, other than maybe
• 11:19
  Soundless. Soundless is terrible and I
• 11:23
  still do not have him after years and years and years and
• 11:27
  many many kill attempts. But I feel like that is one of
• 11:37
  few that I would that I would say is just I I don't find to be
• 11:43
  particularly fun. Yeah, I, I have to say that I
• 11:48
  think Soundless is one of those mounts that caused me to rethink
• 11:53
  the way that I hunt mounts down. For those at home that may not
• 11:59
  know what Soundless is, Soundless was a mount in Battle
• 12:02
  for Azeroth particularly. You would find Soundless as a
• 12:07
  rare spawn in. Oh, what was the name of the
• 12:12
  zone? Not Mechagon, but.
• 12:16
  Oh. Man, I was about to say Baltra,
• 12:19
  but it's not it. It's.
• 12:20
  Nashtar. Nashtar, thank you.
• 12:23
  So there was a chance that it would spawn and it wasn't
• 12:27
  frequent. It was very infrequent.
• 12:30
  And then even if it did spawn, the chance of it dropping the
• 12:34
  mount was also a very infinitesimal chance of getting
• 12:40
  it. And so the way that I ended up
• 12:45
  farming it because I have been blessed to get that mount is
• 12:49
  that I put my effort into finding those groups.
• 12:52
  That's that was like soundless up and so forth or searching for
• 12:57
  soundless while it was current content and managed to get it
• 13:02
  that way. Because now if you are to go
• 13:05
  back there, you need to have characters in the zone.
• 13:12
  Hope that you find soundless when it spawns, which is not a
• 13:18
  high chance. Hope that if it does spawn in
• 13:22
  the Shard or version of the world that is up for you that
• 13:27
  somebody else doesn't kill it. And what was the what was the
• 13:31
  respawn like? I think it was once every 20
• 13:33
  hours or something on the Shard. It was pretty bad.
• 13:36
  I don't think we ever got actual data for respawn because it
• 13:41
  could spawn in one to five different places, so it's pretty
• 13:45
  easy to not catch the spawn even if he does respawn.
• 13:49
  But it was pretty long. It was like 2024 hours, yeah.
• 13:53
  And so now that people can easily one shot it, so you don't
• 13:58
  even have the chance of like running around and catching
• 14:00
  somebody in the middle of engaging it.
• 14:03
  If there's anybody there, if you're on the right Shard, it
• 14:06
  just, it feels like it's a lot harder to do today than it was
• 14:13
  back in the correct patch of BFA, which is why I always we're
• 14:20
  kind of backwards on mounts now. I try and do things in the
• 14:24
  current patch expansion and then I'll go back to older ones.
• 14:31
  Do you have a method to your madness for mount hunting?
• 14:35
  I don't really have a method. I make sure I take breaks so I
• 14:39
  don't get burnt out on one hunt. My current hunt is all of the
• 14:45
  rares in the different zones. I have three out of eight, so
• 14:50
  almost halfway there there. But then my other mount chase
• 14:57
  that I'm doing is the the forge from Shadow Lands.
• 15:03
  I'm still going back and making all of the mounts in Shadow
• 15:06
  Lands and grinding out all of the different materials and
• 15:10
  things like that, that you need all of the Genesis motes for
• 15:15
  those different mounts. So I go back and forth.
• 15:19
  OK. That's twice now that we've
• 15:23
  looked at like 2 different types of mounts.
• 15:25
  There has been the random chance, as we talked about with
• 15:29
  Soundless, as we were talking about with the current rare drop
• 15:33
  mounts in each of the zones. And then there's the ones that
• 15:36
  are more deterministic, where you're grinding to get whatever
• 15:39
  currency or item that you would exchange for the mount.
• 15:44
  Of the two, which one do you prefer?
• 15:46
  Or do you find that like variety is the spice of life, like you
• 15:49
  would want both to exist? Definitely, variety is the spice
• 15:53
  of life because when it comes to a 1% or lower drop chance, you
• 15:57
  can go a very, very long time without saying amount.
• 16:00
  However, if I'm working on amount that I have to grind
• 16:04
  items and things out for, I know I'm going to eventually get that
• 16:08
  amount and I can see something at the end.
• 16:10
  So I'm definitely getting a payoff somewhere.
• 16:13
  It's just keeping the numbers moving and keeping your
• 16:17
  collection going as best as you can without getting burnt out
• 16:21
  and saying, man, I hate mount collecting, this is not doing
• 16:23
  anything for me, I'm going to stop.
• 16:27
  OK, so then talking about the numbers, how many mounts you you
• 16:34
  got under your belt there? I I currently as of recording
• 16:38
  have 1217 mounts and I am currently realm 47th on thrall.
• 16:46
  There you go. There you go.

  Which is fantastic. I I must admit that since having
• 16:55
  ended the competition against shoe boots, I have not been
• 16:58
  tracking how many mounts I have. But there are a number of
• 17:02
  different sites that people can use.
• 17:05
  So what sites do you use to like find info about the mounts or
• 17:10
  track how many mounts that you have?
• 17:12
  So I keep track of how many mounts that I have on Data for
• 17:16
  azeroth.com. You can put in your realm and
• 17:22
  character name and search. It will give you a breakdown of
• 17:26
  everything you have as far as achievements, pets, mounts, all
• 17:30
  of the completionist items, what you're lacking, what you already
• 17:34
  have, and where you measure up against other people that have
• 17:37
  also checked the site on Data for Azeroth.
• 17:41
  As far as choosing which mounts to farm, I also use Simple
• 17:48
  Armory which will give you a guide or a load out on which
• 17:55
  which paths you should take to farm your raid mounts.

  Nice. OK.

  So then do you have any white whales that you're that you're
• 18:09
  currently hunting or that you've set aside so that you're you
• 18:12
  maintain your sanity? I have one white whale and that
• 18:20
  is the plagued proto Drake. Of course you can only get the
• 18:24
  plagued proto Drake on the black market auction house.
• 18:27
  Most of the time on higher pop realms it does go for gold cap.
• 18:32
  Sometimes on lower pop realms you can find it for 4 to 5
• 18:35
  million. However, I have a love hate
• 18:39
  relationship with gold as I tend to spend it very frivolously.
• 18:43
  So the plagued protodrake is definitely a white whale.
• 18:48
  That will be mine one day, just not today.
• 18:53
  I I consider that unobtainable, so you will go on the black
• 18:59
  market auction house to pick up some of those mounts that are
• 19:03
  otherwise unattainable. Well, I actually Manny, I
• 19:07
  actually have all of the mounts off the black market auction
• 19:10
  house already except for the plagued Protodrake, so it is
• 19:14
  only the one I'm looking for. There you go.

  So OK, so you will repeatedly and have repeatedly hit up that
• 19:24
  black market auction house to get those mounts.

  There has been the temporary sale that they had back in
• 19:33
  Dragon Flight where they had some mounts that were
• 19:37
  immediately purchasable or I think it was just one scare
• 19:40
  about that was immediately purchable for a short period of
• 19:43
  time and then it went on to the auction house.

  I assume you have that one. Yes.

  OK. And so then with the Plague
• 19:55
  Drake being the last one on the black market auction house, what
• 19:58
  have you been doing in terms of the traders post?

  Have you been picking up every mount that's come off of that?

  Have you forsaken like trans Mog and other things to make sure
• 20:11
  that you have the gold for that? Like what's the sorry, not the
• 20:14
  gold, but the traders tenders. What's your relationship with

  the Traders post? I pick up every mount there is
• 20:21
  off the traders post. I don't find myself for going
• 20:26
  anything that I really want off the traders post.

  I tend to hit my attendees cap every month and I find that it
• 20:34
  sustains what I want. Granted, I'm kind of A1 trick
• 20:39
  pony when it comes to playing Wow.

  I don't level a lot of alts so I don't find myself wanting a lot
• 20:46
  of different types of gear that are male or hunter related, so
• 20:52
  I'm safe from a lot of transmog wanting.

  OK. Also, if you have not checked

  out this month's new mount, The Dusk Painted Sunrock, The Dusk
• 21:07
  Painted Sunrock is really, really cool and it has a mount
• 21:12
  animation and dismount this time so the mount actually flies
• 21:16
  away. It's beautiful.

  Yeah, this is the first one that's that I'm aware of and I
• 21:22
  think the first one ever, correct me if I'm wrong, to
• 21:27
  actually have a dismount animation.
• 21:29
  I believe so, yes. I it caught my eye as soon as I
• 21:32
  was like, oh look, it has a mount animation that's great.
• 21:34
  And then I got off of it and I was like, Oh my God, it's got a
• 21:39
  dismount animation. It made me really excited.

  So as a mount collector, are you somebody who loves numbers goes
• 21:50
  up? Are you like me?

  Where when they had focused on instead of just doing more and
• 21:58
  more different mounts, they I mean, there's a lot of mounts of
• 21:59
  dragon flights. I'm not saying that there
• 22:01
  weren't a lot of mounts of dragon fights, but there was
• 22:04
  also all these customizations for the Dragons and that has
• 22:09
  continued on with the with delves and the discovery mount
• 22:16
  that they'll be Trent. There'll be adjustments for
• 22:19
  that. At least there were in the war
• 22:22
  within as a rather in in. Yeah, in the war within.
• 22:28
  I'm I don't know why I was thinking midnight in the war
• 22:31
  within. Anyways, within the war within
• 22:32
  we also got every season amount that you could take to the
• 22:36
  roster room that would also have different parts.

  Are you into those parts as much as mounts, or do you find that
• 22:44
  those don't really count? I it depends.

  So the raid customizations that completely changed how your
• 22:53
  Drake looks. I loved those.
• 22:57
  The one that dropped off of Razgath.

  Huge fan of the one that dropped off of the the IT looked like a
• 23:05
  it looked like a pink Drake. I can't remember who it dropped
• 23:08
  off of. Had plates on it like Deathwing.

  Oh. Right from a from the burning
• 23:16
  Crucible. Yes, really big fan of that.
• 23:19
  Really big fan of that one. So those I absolutely love and
• 23:24
  actually still use in my favorites rotation today.

  Whereas the regular ones that just had the pieces that you
• 23:33
  could piece together, they were really fun, but I don't get as
• 23:38
  excited for those as I would a new mount.

  Now, is that stopping me from farming the Delve appearances
• 23:47
  that I don't have still? No, I'm still doing that.
• 23:50
  However, that's because those have a lot of flash and frill to
• 23:55
  them. Like I didn't defeat Zekvir, you
• 23:59
  know, on question mark, question mark, but you can still go back
• 24:02
  and get that appearance. If you did not know in question
• 24:06
  mark question mark Delve, it's just a drop chance and not 100%
• 24:10
  drop chance. OK, Speaking of Dell drop
• 24:15
  chances, there is a mount from this season's stealth boss
• 24:19
  because it is not just a transformation, it's actually a
• 24:21
  completely separate mount. Have you been hunting that or
• 24:24
  did you try and get it as one of the first?
• 24:27
  I think it was 4000 people. I wasn't one of the 1st 4000
• 24:33
  people to get it, but I got it relatively quickly.
• 24:37
  I was very impressed playing a hunter.
• 24:41
  The delve bosses have kind of steamrolled your pets so it's
• 24:47
  not super easy to go against those delve bosses when they're
• 24:50
  crushing your pets health and you just have to re summon them
• 24:53
  constantly. But I found that using Valera as
• 24:56
  a healer, you really could heal your pets and they could stay up
• 25:01
  and actually tank for you. So I was able to achieve that
• 25:05
  pretty quickly this season. Hopefully they stay with those
• 25:08
  changes for next season. Yeah, I mean Devil bots is have
• 25:13
  been somewhat all over the place.
• 25:15
  So previous positives may not hold, but previous negatives
• 25:21
  also may not hold either. We will have to see if you could
• 25:28
  ask for anything for for mounts just in general going in the
• 25:33
  future, what would you want for mounts?
• 25:38
  For mounts in general, as far as like models or for.
• 25:44
  I mean like you're like, I want this to be a mount.

  Like you could create your own mount or create a like general
• 25:51
  idea for a mount and have that made.

  What would you want for a mount? I want something outlandish.

  I want like a flying chair or something like that, like the

  Decor duel they gave us AB right?

  B is beautiful. It should have been a flying
• 26:09
  chair. But there's there's a lot I want
• 26:14
  to see with the mount system in general.

  I don't feel like we should have to use mount journal enhance to
• 26:23
  get a lot of the information that we get for mounts.

  Mount Journal enhance, if you do not use that auto add on will
• 26:31
  tell you the percentage of active accounts that have
• 26:34
  amount, the amount of times you used, amount of the amount of
• 26:40
  travel distance you've used that mount.
• 26:45
  It will give you better the a better ability to farm mounts,
• 26:51
  telling you where they're from and give you more information on
• 26:54
  them. I would like to see more done
• 26:58
  with the actual mount system. New mounts is great, but I I'd
• 27:03
  like more done with the actual system.

  OK. Well, I mean, that leads into my
• 27:09
  next question about like what you would want systems for, for
• 27:13
  the mounts. They've talked about having like
• 27:17
  from the earliest days of Decor and player housing, they've
• 27:21
  talked about having stables and such.

  Is that something that like interests you or you just not
• 27:26
  engaged in player housing? I'm not super engaged with
• 27:30
  player housing but I would use a mount stable.

  I loved the stables in Was It. Battle for Astra Draynor.

  Yes, in Draynor where you could go in your mounts would randomly
• 27:45
  be roaming in your Garrison. I loved that part so I I would
• 27:49
  love to see it in house in player housing.

  OK. And so then what would you like
• 27:55
  to, I guess additional systems for mounts?

  I'd like to see them bring about Bring Back Mount broadcasts.

  So during a portion of Wow, and I cannot tell you which portion
• 28:11
  it's the years blend together, but it used to be when you
• 28:14
  looted amount, it actually announced it in Guild for you.

  So and so looted such and such amount.
• 28:20
  It doesn't do that anymore. And I'd like to see that brought
• 28:23
  back, 'cause it, it always feels a little braggy when I'm like,
• 28:27
  look, and I just link it and I'm like, look what I just got.

  Like, don't, don't make me do it for myself, Blizzard, do it for

  me. Yeah, give, give a, give the

  toast and then let the Guild celebrate it, I guess.
