- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty AM six forty handle.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Here it is a Friday morning, May twenty two, at
- 0:13Speaker 2: the bottom of the eight o'clock hour, eight thirty, it's
- 0:15Speaker 2: to ask Candle anything. One of the most entertaining parts
- 0:18Speaker 2: of our show because it's all about embarrassing me some
- 0:22Speaker 2: of the stories we are looking at, some of the
- 0:23Speaker 2: big stories.
- 0:24Speaker 1: The World Health Organization.
- 0:26Speaker 2: WHO great band raise the risk of a bola turning
- 0:30Speaker 2: into a national outbreak in the Democrat Republic of Congo
- 0:35Speaker 2: to very high, and it's the number of people being
- 0:39Speaker 2: infected as going up by the hundreds a day now.
- 0:43Speaker 2: In a stunning loss for the president, a couple of
- 0:48Speaker 2: days ago, he announced a one point eight billion dollar
- 0:52Speaker 2: payout fund that would pay those people that under the
- 0:57Speaker 2: Biden administration were hurt where the DOJ during that time
- 1:04Speaker 2: weaponized the department and went after people that were well
- 1:10Speaker 2: innocent and unfairly prosecuted. Read anyone of Trump's enemies perceived
- 1:17Speaker 2: enemies that said anything against them, much less did anything
- 1:23Speaker 2: against him personally or his values or his beliefs. Okay,
- 1:27Speaker 2: this took everybody by surprise. I mean, he just came
- 1:30Speaker 2: up with it. Congress didn't even know what was happening. Now,
- 1:35Speaker 2: Congress did know that there was a problem with the ballroom,
- 1:40Speaker 2: that he had asked for a billion dollars for quote
- 1:43Speaker 2: security under the ballroom. Where do you spend a billion
- 1:48Speaker 2: dollars on security? Is beyond me? And since he had
- 1:52Speaker 2: said the donations would pay for the ballroom, no public money, well, okay,
- 2:00Speaker 2: he stopped talking about that. So the big deal and
- 2:04Speaker 2: for the arch which is kind of big now this. Oh,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and don't forget the deal where he filed a lawsuit
- 2:11Speaker 2: against the I R S for ten billion dollars because
- 2:15Speaker 2: someone leaked to tax returns. So the I R S
- 2:18Speaker 2: gets hit with ten billion dollars. He settles with the
- 2:20Speaker 2: I R S. That's basically with himself. By okay, I
- 2:24Speaker 2: won't continue on with my ten billion dollar suit, and
- 2:28Speaker 2: in exchange the I R S. Well, what they get
- 2:31Speaker 2: to do is never in perpetuity, at least up to
- 2:35Speaker 2: this point.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I have an audit.
- 2:37Speaker 2: The I R S will never audit Trump, his family,
- 2:41Speaker 2: his businesses. It's just fantastic. Oh and I want that
- 2:46Speaker 2: billion one point eight billion dollar payout. Now, who does
- 2:49Speaker 2: that go to? Well, those victims who were victimized by
- 2:54Speaker 2: the DOJ under Biden, including those patriots that were held
- 2:59Speaker 2: hot stage, the ones that overran the capital. Now Trump
- 3:06Speaker 2: may call them patriots, but there are a few congress
- 3:09Speaker 2: people and senators who were in the capital at that
- 3:13Speaker 2: time that were running for their lives because the crowd
- 3:17Speaker 2: was screaming, for example, Hank pen where's Nancy Pelosi? Hangpence,
- 3:22Speaker 2: I mean, it was insane. So you have some senators
- 3:27Speaker 2: pretty upset, clearly, and this is beyond the pale, this one.
- 3:32Speaker 2: The legislator said, no, no, we are not even going
- 3:36Speaker 2: to even attempt to allow this to happen, paying anybody
- 3:43Speaker 2: who claims they were victimized.
- 3:45Speaker 1: All you have to do is make a claim.
- 3:47Speaker 2: And Todd Blanche yesterday went in front of a Senate
- 3:50Speaker 2: subcommittee to subcommittee to try to defend it, try to defend.
- 3:56Speaker 1: This bill, the weaponization bill.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And here's the problem is, not only was the Senate
- 4:02Speaker 2: and they were talking about Republicans. Now the Senate in
- 4:05Speaker 2: the House in an uproar over this. He goes in
- 4:09Speaker 2: front of the Senate subcommittee and starts defending it, and
- 4:12Speaker 2: they had a couple of questions. Screaming at the top
- 4:15Speaker 2: of their lungs at Blanche now was a closed door hearing,
- 4:18Speaker 2: but this has reported people sort of in the know
- 4:20Speaker 2: and the leaks that happened, and that is exactly who
- 4:25Speaker 2: is going to determine. We don't know how do people apply, Well,
- 4:28Speaker 2: we really don't know. How does this work? Well, we
- 4:32Speaker 2: really don't know what panel is set up? Well, we
- 4:37Speaker 2: don't really know, but we still want one point eight
- 4:40Speaker 2: billion dollars for this fund. And they were just screaming him,
- 4:43Speaker 2: attempting to go in front of the committee and somehow
- 4:47Speaker 2: defend this.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Boy did that backfire?
- 4:50Speaker 2: So here are the problems that Congress, the Senate and
- 4:54Speaker 2: the House has to deal with. The one point eight
- 4:56Speaker 2: billion dollar fund.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Ridiculous.
- 5:00Speaker 2: The ballroom, Yeah, a billion dollars and all of a sudden,
- 5:04Speaker 2: the ballroom is sort of just attached to that.
- 5:07Speaker 1: No, that's not going to go.
- 5:09Speaker 2: You have the Arc de Trump instead of the Triumph,
- 5:14Speaker 2: which is going to be bigger than any of these
- 5:18Speaker 2: monuments anywhere in the world. Imagine the one in Germany
- 5:22Speaker 2: and imagine the one in France. Trump is doing exactly
- 5:26Speaker 2: the same thing. And here's what ended up happening yesterday.
- 5:30Speaker 2: There was supposed to be a vote, which was a
- 5:32Speaker 2: given that ice and border patrol were going to be funded,
- 5:38Speaker 2: completely funded, and that came as a result of the
- 5:43Speaker 2: bill that was passed to stop the shutdown of the
- 5:46Speaker 2: government and the understanding that they would pick up the
- 5:49Speaker 2: ice and the border patrol later. That's exactly what they did,
- 5:52Speaker 2: and it was going to be there was a given. Well,
- 5:55Speaker 2: Congress was so pissed off that the Senate adjourn wouldn't
- 6:00Speaker 2: give the vote for this bill that the President said,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I want this on my desk by January, by June first,
- 6:06Speaker 2: and even the House, and keep in mind, the House
- 6:10Speaker 2: is controlled, as is the Senate, but the House is
- 6:13Speaker 2: controlled by the Republicans, and you have the Speaker of
- 6:17Speaker 2: the House that's Trump's lapdog, Mike Johnson, was going to
- 6:22Speaker 2: lose that vote.
- 6:23Speaker 1: So what did he did? What did he do?
- 6:25Speaker 2: He adjourned, He said there will be no vote because
- 6:29Speaker 2: he knew he was going to lose. The problem is
- 6:32Speaker 2: they're going to have to deal with it when Congress
- 6:36Speaker 2: comes back, when we certainly have the House comes back
- 6:39Speaker 2: and the Senate comes back, and if Trump keeps on
- 6:44Speaker 2: doubling down, and by the way, he has already said
- 6:47Speaker 2: I'm not moving. I still want all of this. He's
- 6:49Speaker 2: not prepared to even negotiate. I don't even know where
- 6:52Speaker 2: you go to negotiate this. Then they're a at an impasse.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So the full control of the in the House at
- 7:01Speaker 2: least on this issue isn't gonna work.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Now, as we all know, the twenty twenty four election
- 7:10Speaker 2: created a Donald Trump Trump presidency the first time around.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I was stunned that Donald Trump won the second time around. Yeah,
- 7:22Speaker 2: also because of what the Trump administration does. This one
- 7:27Speaker 2: is well, now it's gone crazy. You think if you
- 7:30Speaker 2: ran now, he'd be elected. So here's the Democratic National
- 7:33Speaker 2: Committee and this is what they use when there was
- 7:35Speaker 2: a big loss. The Republicans do the same thing. They
- 7:38Speaker 2: do an election autopsy, and this one is one hundred
- 7:41Speaker 2: and ninety two pages. And this started looking at some
- 7:47Speaker 2: of the reasons. For example, the anti Trump sentiment, which
- 7:52Speaker 2: was central to Kamala Harris and the Democratic campaign didn't
- 7:59Speaker 2: really motivate voters. It turned out to be more the
- 8:05Speaker 2: financial aspect, the cost of living, the inflation. And what
- 8:10Speaker 2: didn't happen is the committee said that the campaign was
- 8:17Speaker 2: anti Trump and didn't make affirmative cases for candidates, didn't
- 8:21Speaker 2: push the positive. What the Democrats were going to do,
- 8:25Speaker 2: particularly Kamala Harris just didn't work.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Now here's the problem.
- 8:31Speaker 2: A lot of Democrats are saying, this is not a
- 8:35Speaker 2: very good document.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It leaves out a whole lot of stuff.
- 8:40Speaker 2: And that makes a lot of sense. I mean, you know,
- 8:42Speaker 2: a lot of it makes sense. The main points were actually,
- 8:47Speaker 2: some say entirely unaddressed. For example, no mention whatsoever of
- 8:54Speaker 2: Joe Biden's age and how that factored into the election
- 9:01Speaker 2: in which he dropped out of the race, what three
- 9:04Speaker 2: or four months before the general election. And if you
- 9:09Speaker 2: talk to anybody out there who ended up voting for
- 9:13Speaker 2: Trump and switched from Joe Biden, you tell me age
- 9:17Speaker 2: wasn't a factor. As I was watching the debate, as
- 9:22Speaker 2: most of us were, I'm told that. I think it
- 9:26Speaker 2: was David Axelrod who was watching the debate, and as
- 9:29Speaker 2: soon as Biden imploded, he said, We've just lost the election.
- 9:35Speaker 1: No mention of Biden's.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Age at all, didn't look into the process. By how
- 9:42Speaker 2: Kamala Harris so quickly secured the Democratic nomination. Now, to
- 9:46Speaker 2: be fair, how much time they had to find a
- 9:51Speaker 2: nominee probably impossible, no research on Harris's position on the
- 9:57Speaker 2: conflict between Israel and Gaza, and she was as pro
- 10:02Speaker 2: Palestinian out there as any candidate would. Even the words
- 10:06Speaker 2: Gaza and Palestinians don't appear in this report. And even
- 10:12Speaker 2: though the US policy with Israel continues to be deeply
- 10:16Speaker 2: divided in the party, the Democratic Party, and no mention
- 10:20Speaker 2: of it at all, no mention of her decision to
- 10:25Speaker 2: select Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz as the vice presidential nominee,
- 10:29Speaker 2: And people were arguing, why didn't you pick a running
- 10:32Speaker 2: mate from a key swing state like Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro,
- 10:39Speaker 2: and that may have given Kamala Harris the Democrats a
- 10:42Speaker 2: leg up, just and the White House didn't adequately position
- 10:49Speaker 2: the VP as a Biden's successor, didn't do a good
- 10:52Speaker 2: job of explaining why and how, because it turned out
- 10:57Speaker 2: that Joe Biden chose her.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Says simple, there was nobody else that really was.
- 11:03Speaker 2: In contention, because at that point Biden, he was the
- 11:09Speaker 2: leader of the party and since they're effectively the party
- 11:12Speaker 2: was already imploding, and he had because of his age
- 11:16Speaker 2: and what a disastrous performance was, there was nobody there
- 11:21Speaker 2: and the age issue. You talk about the hubris of
- 11:26Speaker 2: Joe Biden. He had said he's a transitional president when
- 11:30Speaker 2: he ran in twenty twenty four, and.
- 11:34Speaker 1: He was only going to run one more.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Term, one term, and then he changed his mind and said,
- 11:41Speaker 2: I am the only person that can lead this country,
- 11:45Speaker 2: and therefore I am going to run.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Good for him, and.
- 11:53Speaker 2: The party went forward with the basic premise of we're
- 11:58Speaker 2: going to run anti Trump. Now, that may happen again,
- 12:03Speaker 2: but I believe the anti Trump sentiment is far stronger
- 12:06Speaker 2: now than it was then.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I mean, look at what was happening with.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Gas prices, the war, him talking about invading Cuba, Greenland,
- 12:16Speaker 2: I mean, just crazy ass stuff, this weaponization bill, building
- 12:25Speaker 2: that ballroom, literally upending the footprint and the view and
- 12:30Speaker 2: the curb appeal of the White House, which is wonderful.
- 12:34Speaker 2: And it's just there's a lot to attack on him.
- 12:36Speaker 2: But they also the Democratic Party, which has to go.
- 12:42Speaker 2: They have to say, here is what we are going
- 12:45Speaker 2: to do. It's not just anti Trump. What are we
- 12:49Speaker 2: going to do to help the average American.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Today.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Trump is going to speak at three o'clock Eastern, so
- 12:57Speaker 2: it's noon today, about the price and it's mainly from
- 13:02Speaker 2: what we are told. It's an economic press conference. Where
- 13:08Speaker 2: is he going to say prices are down like he
- 13:12Speaker 2: did when he ran and when he said day one
- 13:16Speaker 2: that prices will be cut in half. Is he going
- 13:20Speaker 2: to ignore the price of gasoline? I don't think so.
- 13:23Speaker 2: But he will say as soon as the war is over,
- 13:25Speaker 2: prices will drop in half, which by the way, is ludicrous.
- 13:29Speaker 2: That will not happen. They may drop somewhat, but the
- 13:34Speaker 2: comparison is going to be at the lowest point when
- 13:37Speaker 2: the strait is open. What is the price going to
- 13:40Speaker 2: be between now and pre pandemic prices? Big big difference. Now,
- 13:48Speaker 2: four years ago was the most that gas was charged.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I don't know, in decades, we're beating that in terms
- 13:57Speaker 2: of prices. Okay, we're done with that now. One of
- 14:03Speaker 2: the big deals in Olympics and sports in general is
- 14:07Speaker 2: the use of illegal drugs doping, and it is a
- 14:12Speaker 2: very big deal because athletes who are caught are thrown
- 14:15Speaker 2: out of federations. Any records that are broken are immediately dismissed.
- 14:21Speaker 1: So here is a group of people.
- 14:23Speaker 2: That say, since drugs are such a big part of
- 14:30Speaker 2: athletics today and most athletes do not take those drugs.
- 14:36Speaker 2: How about this idea, how about enhanced games that's happening
- 14:41Speaker 2: this weekend and having the athletes.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Take those drugs.
- 14:47Speaker 2: They're asked to take performance enhancing drugs outlawed in official competition,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and offer huge prices to these folks to quote break
- 14:59Speaker 2: work records with illegal drugs. So there's especially built twenty
- 15:05Speaker 2: five hundred seat arena at Resorts World in Las Vegas.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Forty two athletes will compete in the following events swimming,
- 15:15Speaker 2: the fifty meter one hundred meter freestyle and the butterfly
- 15:19Speaker 2: track and field one hundred meters.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Weightlifting snatch, clean and jerk.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Snatch being only for women athletes for the strong man deadlift,
- 15:32Speaker 2: and more than a dozen Olympic swimmers have signed on.
- 15:35Speaker 2: A couple of world class swimmers have signed on, and
- 15:38Speaker 2: it is well thirty seven of the forty two athletes
- 15:43Speaker 2: have been involved in the International Review Board. There's a
- 15:47Speaker 2: trial in Abu Dhabi going on, and the International.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Review Board controls the review.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Over the doping and so how is this going to
- 15:58Speaker 2: work and how can they justify taking the drugs? As
- 16:01Speaker 2: I said, they claim far more athletes cheat than are caught. Therefore,
- 16:06Speaker 2: the enhanced game is being transparent by allowing these athletes.
- 16:12Speaker 1: To take the drugs.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Okay, So what does Schwartz experts say people involved in
- 16:20Speaker 2: the international sports arena, Well, they're saying this is crazy.
- 16:27Speaker 2: It calls the enhanced games a dangerous and irresponsible concept
- 16:31Speaker 2: and points out the FDA approved drugs are all banned
- 16:35Speaker 2: and may not be may be so dangerous that even
- 16:41Speaker 2: taking them is a real danger. So how much money
- 16:44Speaker 2: are these athletes getting paid? Well three to five times
- 16:50Speaker 2: what they would get from their national federations, and an
- 16:54Speaker 2: appearance fee. And for all events there's a five hundred
- 16:59Speaker 2: thousd dollar prize pool, the winner receiving two hundred and
- 17:03Speaker 2: fifty thousand dollars, and if a winner breaks a world record,
- 17:08Speaker 2: there's an additional two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. And
- 17:12Speaker 2: in the two glamour events the fifty meter freestyle one
- 17:16Speaker 2: hundred meter sprint this is the swimming, the prize is
- 17:20Speaker 2: an additional one million dollars. Also, they can wear these
- 17:25Speaker 2: polyurethane speed suits banned because they are so scientifically advanced.
- 17:32Speaker 2: There's a huge advantage wearing them by a second or
- 17:35Speaker 2: two on these events. Now, none of these quote world
- 17:39Speaker 2: records will count officially, So all you're going to see
- 17:44Speaker 2: is a bunch of athletes taking a bunch of drugs
- 17:48Speaker 2: and maybe making the breaking quote world records that mean
- 17:53Speaker 2: absolutely nothing. And you can see them Sunday evening and
- 17:58Speaker 2: they're going to be streamed through Roku across the US
- 18:02Speaker 2: and internationally on the YouTube channel of the Enhanced Games.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Sebastian co, the President of World Athletes, spoke for many
- 18:14Speaker 2: sports federations. Is bollocks, isn't it? I can't really get
- 18:18Speaker 2: excited about this. The Enhanced Games claims to be a
- 18:22Speaker 2: global movement that develops scientific insights, medical discoveries, and record
- 18:27Speaker 2: breaking sports events to unite humanity and inspire innovation. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 2: that's going to unite humanity. A bunch of athletes taking
- 18:36Speaker 2: illegal drugs, breaking world records and all of humanity will
- 18:39Speaker 2: be involved and it's going to be united. Okay, moving on,
- 18:44Speaker 2: I want to tell you about a Hooters in East Brunswick,
- 18:48Speaker 2: New Jersey. Okay, twenty five televisions, you know, showing baseball, hockey, basketball,
- 18:53Speaker 2: typical Hooters, and there is a sign that reads caution
- 18:58Speaker 2: blondes thinking and right underneath there is a six year
- 19:02Speaker 2: old girl sipping soda through a bendie straw.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Huh.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Then there's a baseball team, middle school baseball team. On
- 19:10Speaker 2: the other table, at a table where printed are Hooter
- 19:15Speaker 2: swimsuit calendar girls.
- 19:17Speaker 1: In the corner, a server.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Wearing hot pants hands out balloons and crayons to young.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Girls whoa boy.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Hooters and kids and Hooters hasn't changed its policy.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I mean it still.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Hires Hooters girls. Women with well, let me put it
- 19:40Speaker 2: this way. Flat chested women need not apply. And Hooter
- 19:45Speaker 2: girls are big breasted, small waists, pretty attractive. You won't
- 19:50Speaker 2: see any waitresses they have open shankers on their faces,
- 19:55Speaker 2: or are very homely, or have zits all over their
- 19:58Speaker 2: faces so their faces look like Beroni pizzas. You will
- 20:01Speaker 2: not see that at Hooters. Matter of fact, there's a
- 20:05Speaker 2: great lawsuit. Men filed a lawsuit against Hooters because they
- 20:09Speaker 2: were discriminated against because they weren't getting hired except for
- 20:12Speaker 2: trans They were getting hired depending on the size of
- 20:16Speaker 2: their boobs. They're winnebagos, you know, their bazookahs, the whatever
- 20:22Speaker 2: you want to call them, and Hooters great story found
- 20:26Speaker 2: it in nineteen eighty three by six Florida business guys
- 20:29Speaker 2: who got together to open up a place they couldn't
- 20:31Speaker 2: get kicked out of. And there's the all female weight
- 20:35Speaker 2: staff that they had, revealing outfits, serving the food Waynesburger's beer.
- 20:40Speaker 2: They opened more locations, licensed the name Hooters. At its peak,
- 20:45Speaker 2: the chain had four hundred and twenty restaurants across forty
- 20:47Speaker 2: two states, twenty nine countries, and even had a Hooters
- 20:51Speaker 2: airline for three years. Well, there were a bunch of
- 20:56Speaker 2: ownership changes and what ended up had happening, Well, the
- 21:00Speaker 2: wait staff uniforms grew skimpier.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Two companies, Hooters, Inc.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And Hooters of America, had all kinds of disagreements over
- 21:09Speaker 2: the company's brand, identity and the custom. Well, the company
- 21:13Speaker 2: suffered big time. You had the recession of twenty two
- 21:16Speaker 2: thousand and eight, changes of dining habits, the pandemic delta blow,
- 21:22Speaker 2: and so they're declining sales, more debt. Hooters of America
- 21:27Speaker 2: closed down a bunch of locations and filed for Chapter
- 21:31Speaker 2: eleven bankruptcy. In recent months, the original owners moved to
- 21:36Speaker 2: reclaim Hooters, so under private equity, the franchise operators leaned
- 21:43Speaker 2: into more overtly sexual marketing, and a twenty twenty one
- 21:49Speaker 2: decision that management made was to introduce uniforms that resembled underwear.
- 21:56Speaker 2: They have a beach themed restaurant they wanted Pigged and
- 22:01Speaker 2: it promoted the servers the Hooters girls, and also had
- 22:06Speaker 2: a very successful side business a calendar featuring employees in bikinis.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Okay, with all that said and done, Hooters being Hooters.
- 22:16Speaker 2: This Hooter that I'm talking about in East Brunswick has
- 22:19Speaker 2: a kids eat free promotion on Saturdays. They have Hooters
- 22:24Speaker 2: branded baby onesies for sale at the merchandise desk, still
- 22:31Speaker 2: holds the occasional bikini night with servers doing their jobs
- 22:36Speaker 2: in swim weares, and needless to say, there is a
- 22:40Speaker 2: lot of debate on the net. And I'll tell you
- 22:45Speaker 2: what else happens at these Hooters. The servers have a
- 22:50Speaker 2: make a big production out of birthdays, standing kids on chairs,
- 22:54Speaker 2: giving them the menus to flap like their wings. And
- 22:58Speaker 2: for adult males they will do things like stuff their
- 23:02Speaker 2: shirts with paper towels to simulate breasts. And over the years,
- 23:07Speaker 2: needless to say, Hooters has faced share of legal challenges.
- 23:10Speaker 2: As I said that discrimination lawsuit it was settled because
