- 0:01Speaker 1: Enough is enough.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I don't have any serious shock and we hold the
- 0:06Speaker 2: world ransom for.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out. Broadcasting live and Atlanta, Georgia.
- 0:16Speaker 3: This this is the Sports Shot Show with Wayne Candy.
- 0:21Speaker 1: You may vegan, I'm dang.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Show fame so far comes and.
- 0:30Speaker 4: It comes to mon isn't just.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm a doing. I'm gonna go on the way you
- 0:39Speaker 1: made Bill Vegan. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I'm listening to the
- 0:45Speaker 1: Sport Shock Show. I am the Sportshock Wayne Candy, Good
- 0:48Speaker 1: morning to you. Glad to be here with you, coming
- 0:52Speaker 1: off a great weekend of Olympic action. And keep it
- 0:56Speaker 1: on that subject for most of the day, Guys, I
- 1:00Speaker 1: haven't really checked out other sports. I don't know what's
- 1:03Speaker 1: going on on the baseball diamond or training camp or
- 1:07Speaker 1: I don't know Cowboys, Falcons, Jets, Stealer. I don't have
- 1:12Speaker 1: any clue they are playing games this weekend. So this
- 1:17Speaker 1: will be the first weekend, probably the starting Thursday, that
- 1:21Speaker 1: you'll start having preseason action for the NFL. But right now,
- 1:25Speaker 1: front and center has been the Olympics and so many
- 1:29Speaker 1: storylines from Snoop Dog and Martha Stewart and which weed
- 1:37Speaker 1: did Martha bring over from her garden. Yes, reports are
- 1:44Speaker 1: between the spring tomatoes and the fall basil. She keeps
- 1:51Speaker 1: her reserve, you know, personal and this is at the
- 1:56Speaker 1: house in France, because I think there try to come international. Well,
- 2:02Speaker 1: it's less trafficking.
- 2:05Speaker 5: She wants you to know it's locally sourced and grown,
- 2:08Speaker 5: and that's a good thing.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I didn't have to travel far to get it. But
- 2:13Speaker 1: between that and the track waking up over the weekend,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I remember that first week it was more about the
- 2:22Speaker 1: swimming Friday get kicked off on the track. We have
- 2:26Speaker 1: the women's one hundred meters champion already filed into history.
- 2:32Speaker 1: We have the men's already filed into history. A little
- 2:39Speaker 1: question going into the finals because of some of the prelams.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Mister Noel Lyles, who is crowned the hundred meter champion
- 2:51Speaker 1: of the world, world's fastest man for a day when
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're in the Olympics, to your next race and somebody
- 3:00Speaker 1: beats you. But right now it's the world of Noah Lyles.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Very controversial to me. I have several conversations since he
- 3:10Speaker 1: wanted about the legitimacy of how it should be scored.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Now googling and looking up the law. It does say
- 3:26Speaker 1: something about the torso. Until I read it, I was
- 3:30Speaker 1: thinking the verse one basically, the touch the line wins.
- 3:35Speaker 1: In that case, the young man from Jamaica would have
- 3:39Speaker 1: won because his toe touched the line first. And if
- 3:46Speaker 1: you even watch the replay, you see Noah questioning, looks
- 3:52Speaker 1: like he was even congratulating the Jamaican sprinter for winning.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And then they paused. They both started looking up at
- 4:03Speaker 1: the board and they came back with the torso of
- 4:10Speaker 1: nor Leiles crossed the line before the Jamaican sprinter, now
- 4:17Speaker 1: comanchie big Kenny. I don't know if you saw the race,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but it was very interesting that we both run a
- 4:26Speaker 1: nine seven eight and then you take it out one
- 4:34Speaker 1: more number. I got confused there, as though two people
- 4:46Speaker 1: can't run the same time. I know it may not
- 4:53Speaker 1: have happened, but you're saying that two people can't simultaneously
- 4:58Speaker 1: run the same time.
- 5:00Speaker 3: It's possible, and you're saying that taking it out of
- 5:04Speaker 3: number is just because they need somebody to be first, basically,
- 5:09Speaker 3: like you really, Yes.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That's how I feel, because to me, we've never heard, well,
- 5:18Speaker 1: he ran a four to two one six that's not
- 5:23Speaker 1: they don't keep going out. They tell you ran a
- 5:25Speaker 1: four to two, or they tell you ran a four
- 5:27Speaker 1: to to one, right, right, And you're talking about somebody
- 5:30Speaker 1: who's been timed in life to try to make a career.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I've never heard that you go to the next number.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Well, well, is that is that a byproduct of us
- 5:41Speaker 5: running the same time?
- 5:42Speaker 3: If if in fact, someone runs a time so close,
- 5:45Speaker 3: we'll have to run it out in that manner. Because
- 5:48Speaker 3: I didn't understand like the one by a fifth of
- 5:51Speaker 3: a tenth of a sex, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:53Speaker 5: I didn't know that you could quantify time that miniscule
- 6:00Speaker 5: amounts of time.
- 6:01Speaker 6: When you keep going past the decimal, then's tens hundred thousands,
- 6:06Speaker 6: ten thousands, one hundred thousands. It can keep going out
- 6:11Speaker 6: that way. But I think a lot of timers don't
- 6:16Speaker 6: even consider that. They don't go it's the first two
- 6:20Speaker 6: numbers after the decimal. They don't keep going after that
- 6:24Speaker 6: unless there is a stopwatch that has it. I mean,
- 6:26Speaker 6: they probably exist, but no one's really using them.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And that's that's my to me. If we both ran
- 6:32Speaker 1: nine seven eight, then we both get the goal. If
- 6:40Speaker 1: I ran, you ran a nine seven eight and I
- 6:43Speaker 1: ran a nine seven nine, then you win. But to
- 6:47Speaker 1: try to to me, just trying to like beginning, you're
- 6:50Speaker 1: just going to keep going out. So if they had
- 6:52Speaker 1: both ran a nine seven eight five, you're saying, you
- 6:59Speaker 1: would have went to another number of time, Yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Nine seven eight five three and you and you ran
- 7:08Speaker 3: a nine seven eight five three two.
- 7:13Speaker 6: After your three. If it's a zero, then you win.
- 7:16Speaker 6: But if it's a three after that three.
- 7:20Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying, how do you? And it seemed confusing.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Now I'm sure that the fine people that make up
- 7:29Speaker 3: these rules in the Olympics know what they're doing, but
- 7:32Speaker 3: this just seemed like one of the most odd winning events.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And then when I learned that the men hadn't won
- 7:40Speaker 3: in twenty years, it left me to go, Nah, they wouldn't.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Does that make sense? What I'm saying is the it
- 7:51Speaker 3: seemed like there was a questionable finish and then Noah
- 7:56Speaker 3: Lyles was given the gold medal and I just that
- 8:00Speaker 3: men from the United States haven't won in twenty years?
- 8:03Speaker 3: Were you more motivated to give it to the American
- 8:06Speaker 3: runner because it was a bigger story, is what I'm saying.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I think it's better that the American runner doesn't win.
- 8:12Speaker 1: The bigger story is that it can't. We get over
- 8:15Speaker 1: get over the heel.
- 8:16Speaker 7: Right.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But my question, I guess is what I'm asking you
- 8:18Speaker 1: and people that I run into. Why can't it be
- 8:21Speaker 1: a tie? If me and you threw the shot put
- 8:29Speaker 1: and we threw it sixty one feet seven inches, that's
- 8:35Speaker 1: what we threw it. You can't keep because it landed.
- 8:38Speaker 1: So it ain't like you can keep adding numbers to
- 8:42Speaker 1: something that was what it was. That's how far it went.
- 8:46Speaker 8: Right.
- 8:47Speaker 6: Have they ever had sacked? Have they ever had I
- 8:50Speaker 6: feel like people don't won't buy it.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I'm saying, have they ever had coal metals? So you know,
- 8:56Speaker 3: both one bronze, both won whatever level, But have there
- 9:01Speaker 3: ever have we ever shared it?
- 9:03Speaker 6: I don't know exactly, but would if it's like, you know,
- 9:08Speaker 6: an individual event. It has happened before. I can't recall
- 9:11Speaker 6: any specific events, but it's happened before where two people
- 9:18Speaker 6: tied for first, so they both got the goal, and
- 9:21Speaker 6: I just felt like that was something. And you posed
- 9:24Speaker 6: the question before the show, where were some of the
- 9:26Speaker 6: American great sprinters like Carl Lewis, Maurice Green, Justin Gatlin
- 9:32Speaker 6: was that guy in two thousand and four to win
- 9:35Speaker 6: the last goal for American one hundred meter sprinters. Where
- 9:39Speaker 6: were they in some kind of interview? You had everybody
- 9:43Speaker 6: else on the in the United States.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Carrie underwe cad who who he was from America? Uh,
- 9:55Speaker 3: she does the daytime talk show Clarkson with Peyton Manning.
- 10:00Speaker 1: She was there, so it would have been. But I
- 10:02Speaker 1: just come at you, Greg, and we got so many
- 10:05Speaker 1: stories to talk about in this hour about the Olympics.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But I was just it was like they've removed the
- 10:11Speaker 1: idea that it can be the same time, right, Like
- 10:19Speaker 1: it can't be the same time if y'all run together,
- 10:22Speaker 1: but it can be the same time if y'all had
- 10:24Speaker 1: ran separate.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Well, and this may now.
- 10:28Speaker 1: If I let you run by yourself and clock you,
- 10:31Speaker 1: that is what it is, right And then I let
- 10:33Speaker 1: the next person run and it clocks the same, that's
- 10:37Speaker 1: not I just don't get it, And I'm still confused.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I thought it was a tie and they're dealing like
- 10:47Speaker 1: mc kenny. But for the function of the Olympics and
- 10:51Speaker 1: the marketing and everything, they got to figure out some
- 10:54Speaker 1: way to declare a winner.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yes, a single winner, a single winner. I think the
- 11:00Speaker 3: single winter thing is important with the Olympics right now.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Uh we I can't remember a time when two athletes
- 11:08Speaker 3: were awarded a gold medal, so maybe they think that
- 11:12Speaker 3: that would be far beyond confusing to try and introduce.
- 11:15Speaker 1: That in this Olympics. Are the Jamaican contingency fouling a grievance.
- 11:23Speaker 5: We'll see.
- 11:24Speaker 1: He looked grievous on his face.
- 11:27Speaker 3: He had that grievous look on his face, like, come on, man,
- 11:31Speaker 3: what happened in the year Not them robbed me?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Never robbed me?
- 11:36Speaker 5: Clear miss down there at the finish line, the rob me.
- 11:42Speaker 1: That's how he looked.
- 11:44Speaker 5: That's how he looked. He was very upset.
- 11:46Speaker 3: And Noahlloules came on to it kind of like, hey man,
- 11:49Speaker 3: I think you won, but if you didn't, don't be upset.
- 11:53Speaker 5: How he patted him on the shoulder, like they might
- 11:55Speaker 5: give it to me.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Well, we'll be back talk about the world's fastest woman
- 12:00Speaker 1: and the joy of in the agony of defeat of

- 15:31Speaker 11: on the Sports Jocksure.
- 15:33Speaker 1: It's taken it to a completely different level this.
- 15:35Speaker 11: Year where we highlight an atholete that has taken their
- 15:38Speaker 11: game to the next level.
- 15:53Speaker 5: No matter what you say, would you do.
- 15:58Speaker 8: With you?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Wait a minute, Welcome back to the show. I'm just
- 16:07Speaker 1: what shot green kimt The fastest woman in the world
- 16:10Speaker 1: as of the one hundred meter final in the Olympics
- 16:14Speaker 1: goes to Saint Lucia's Julian Alfred, who I really impressed
- 16:22Speaker 1: on that night. Blowing the field away in this race.
- 16:28Speaker 1: There was no question, there was no needing to take
- 16:31Speaker 1: the numbers out to find out who was victorious. The
- 16:36Speaker 1: race dominated in the conversation when you looked about the commercials,
- 16:44Speaker 1: when all the buzz was about American Shakari Richardson and
- 16:51Speaker 1: people believing it was her time to arrive and become
- 16:55Speaker 1: an Olympic champion. Several of the Jamaican women had to
- 17:05Speaker 1: bow out, whether injury or other issues that they were having.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So the field had no dominance of the Jamaican sprinters
- 17:15Speaker 1: in the women's event, mainly because that was big. That's
- 17:20Speaker 1: who's been dominating the one hundred meters and the two
- 17:23Speaker 1: hundred here for years now. So it seemed that Shakhari
- 17:29Speaker 1: Richison was going to have more of a clearer path
- 17:32Speaker 1: to bringing home the gold. And a young lady from
- 17:37Speaker 1: Saint Lucia, Miss Allfred, showed up and basically gave us
- 17:43Speaker 1: a glimpse of the next couple of Olympics. We got
- 17:47Speaker 1: to see this battle. This is the new battle. Both
- 17:52Speaker 1: young ladies are about the same age, twenty three to
- 17:54Speaker 1: twenty four years old, so it won't be one of
- 17:57Speaker 1: those things of you know that in your age gap.
- 18:02Speaker 1: It will be basically without injury or retirement these will
- 18:08Speaker 1: be the next. This will be LA twenty twenty eight.
- 18:13Speaker 1: And see if Shakari, who is a quick runner. Everything
- 18:19Speaker 1: about her style is a quickness. It's about turnover. When
- 18:24Speaker 1: you watch Miss offer It run, it was about power
- 18:29Speaker 1: and stride, and you have those different kinds if you
- 18:34Speaker 1: watch sports. You have the way someone like a Randy
- 18:38Speaker 1: Moss runs versus a Tyreek hill. They both come down
- 18:44Speaker 1: at almost the same speed at the end, but the
- 18:48Speaker 1: motion of it looks different. You can't really sometimes see,
- 18:54Speaker 1: but Randy's stride, his gate is so big. It looks
- 18:57Speaker 1: like he's not running nowhere, but he's running by every body.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And Tyreek you just see like like and so, and
- 19:07Speaker 1: that was kind of how I saw this race. Kari
- 19:10Speaker 1: Richson lots of ads, a big opportunity for her to
- 19:14Speaker 1: shine and really live up to what everybody feels like
- 19:19Speaker 1: she possesses. Seems to have run into her. Lex Luthor
- 19:26Speaker 1: ran into her. Joker.
- 19:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it looks so.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Really, Solomon Grundy is from this size for like her
- 19:35Speaker 3: bane Yeah, and and and again this wasn't even oh man,
- 19:42Speaker 3: she almost had her. This is next time you know
- 19:48Speaker 3: and tell you your mama name. I said, hey, because
- 19:53Speaker 3: she she that was a door blowing off. And I
- 19:57Speaker 3: was asking before the show. Once you are convincingly and
- 20:03Speaker 3: unquestionably beaten on the field of play, do you soften
- 20:08Speaker 3: your stance when it comes to trash talk and predictions
- 20:12Speaker 3: of greatness and uh forecasting how lit you're going to be?
- 20:19Speaker 5: Does that change?
- 20:23Speaker 1: I don't know that your confidence, you know, should waiver
- 20:26Speaker 1: that much your your silver winner. Yeah, I'm saying that
- 20:29Speaker 1: that's and now you have the target. Sometimes you walk
- 20:34Speaker 1: into the arena and not and not see your competition,
- 20:40Speaker 1: that real competition, right. Sometimes you know, you know, you
- 20:45Speaker 1: walk onto the field and I can look across and
- 20:47Speaker 1: see who the enemy. Sometimes you don't know now, for
- 20:51Speaker 1: she knows going into who who has the speed? Now
- 20:56Speaker 1: whether it shows up today or not. But I've seen
- 21:01Speaker 1: and I've lost to the speed of the competitors. And
- 21:05Speaker 1: then she lost the prelim to this young lady and
- 21:08Speaker 1: it turned out to be the same in the finals.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Does this.
- 21:14Speaker 1: What is the marketing campaign behind her? Go Comanche.
- 21:21Speaker 6: I think there's always room for UH to There's there's
- 21:27Speaker 6: a redemption arc that that will start where it's you know,
- 21:32Speaker 6: she's working her way back or she's studying or she's training.
- 21:40Speaker 6: So there's the redemption arc. As far as whatever sponsor
- 21:44Speaker 6: it is, whether it's a Gatorader, Nike or whatever, they
- 21:48Speaker 6: probably already had they had their bit. They've been working
- 21:50Speaker 6: on that since the race ended.
- 21:53Speaker 5: Well, no, we we had that one already, remember that.
- 21:56Speaker 3: No, No, that was our that was our our our
- 21:59Speaker 3: Peabody win campaign when she didn't make the Olympics last time,
- 22:03Speaker 3: and we had the redemption art hero he's been back
- 22:07Speaker 3: and she's and she made it to the Olympics. So
- 22:10Speaker 3: now we were needing the cash in on that one
- 22:13Speaker 3: because we can't run it bike. We can't run that bike.
- 22:16Speaker 3: It's it's a hero's journey thing.
- 22:18Speaker 14: Now, No.
- 22:21Speaker 5: N like die Hard seven.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Come on, man, how many time are they gonna blow
- 22:26Speaker 3: up Knockkentucky Tower. I'm just saying, this is the thing
- 22:30Speaker 3: we've already done. I guess, I guess now this is
- 22:36Speaker 3: the thing if we continue to buy tickets to it,
- 22:39Speaker 3: sell it. I get that part, But are we really
- 22:44Speaker 3: We're not surprised to hear yippie kaye anymore. You see
- 22:47Speaker 3: what I'm saying. It used to be really really a grabber,
- 22:51Speaker 3: but we had that redemption thing already when she didn't
- 22:54Speaker 3: make the Olympics because of the smoking the weed, and
- 22:57Speaker 3: they had that campaign where sometimes you like and then
- 23:01Speaker 3: you put your head down and you train. And now
- 23:04Speaker 3: she's silver medal, which again, don't let me disparage silver medal.
- 23:08Speaker 1: No, we and the Americans took in this race. We
- 23:12Speaker 1: took the silver and the bronze. So we are on
- 23:15Speaker 1: the track. It just seems and that's kind of been
- 23:19Speaker 1: the Olympics the last couple of years. We don't take
- 23:23Speaker 1: the goal right, but we do have one or two
- 23:26Speaker 1: people place in our spring. And I think that Shikari
- 23:31Speaker 1: needed to win more than Noah.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, because now and the men's it was I.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Really feel like, I mean, we on the other side
- 23:38Speaker 1: of the break, but I felt like she needed to
- 23:41Speaker 1: solidify her championship more than he did in the Olympics.
- 23:46Speaker 1: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.

- 25:48Speaker 16: She thought she'd never have a permanent place to call home.

- 25:56Speaker 17: I had this hole in my heart and I never

- 26:05Speaker 17: It feels so normal now to say that I'm a

- 26:14Speaker 1: I am whole.

- 26:42Speaker 1: And now back to the sports, John Wayne Andy.
- 26:49Speaker 5: In the radzo.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Wait back to this whatshock shop, this warshock wing candy,
- 27:23Speaker 1: Good morning to you, come on to you. Greg in
- 27:25Speaker 1: the building, Big Kenny the funny man himself is in
- 27:28Speaker 1: the building. And a gentleman that has been in the building,
- 27:31Speaker 1: been in the Olympics dominating. And sometimes it's just the sport,
- 27:36Speaker 1: it's just the position. It's just the city where you
- 27:40Speaker 1: can be the greatest at what you're doing, and just
- 27:46Speaker 1: because of those situations, you might just not be known.
- 27:51Speaker 1: It's not that you're not great, it's just you might
- 27:54Speaker 1: play for a certain team that never gets any spot
- 27:57Speaker 1: like or you don't play the position that car owners
- 28:01Speaker 1: the camera in this case. Shot putter Ryan Cruiser three
- 28:09Speaker 1: times last three Olympics shot put gold. Now that was
- 28:18Speaker 1: another sport, like one hundred meter, right, he'd be a
- 28:23Speaker 1: national they'd be putting talking about putt him on a
- 28:25Speaker 1: dollar bill or something.
- 28:27Speaker 5: At least the weez.
- 28:28Speaker 1: But think about it. I think he's won the last
- 28:31Speaker 1: three Olympics consecutively gold at the shot put man and
- 28:40Speaker 1: we're looking for one hundred meter winner in the last
- 28:43Speaker 1: twenty years.
- 28:45Speaker 3: This dude's done it like at nine, at eleven thirty
- 28:50Speaker 3: and then again at two pm and we're.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Still on hand, and let see your credentials there, sir.
- 28:56Speaker 1: And it just shows if you're just kind of you know,
- 29:00Speaker 1: big burly man doing as great as you're gonna ever
- 29:04Speaker 1: find that the shot put just not in necessarily the place,
- 29:10Speaker 1: the time, the backstory, you know, all that go. I'm
- 29:15Speaker 1: speaking on that because sometimes people and even other athletes,
- 29:19Speaker 1: I've had this conversation, like as comfort, it's not you always, bro,
- 29:25Speaker 1: Sometimes it's this that she was on, you know, a team.
- 29:30Speaker 1: You just on the Charlotte Hornets and me you played
- 29:38Speaker 1: power forward for the Hornets. I got recogn you're sitting
- 29:45Speaker 1: there like, no, I'm thirty two and sixteen every night. Yeah,
- 29:49Speaker 1: but the Charlotte Hornt That's really how he's kind of
- 29:53Speaker 1: getting treated well now.
- 29:54Speaker 3: And this is the thing for USC. There was a
- 29:56Speaker 3: time when, due to the limited reach of media and airwaves,
- 30:08Speaker 3: I might accept that, but now we stream and have
- 30:12Speaker 3: a channel and a magazine and a platform for everything.
- 30:17Speaker 1: This man is bike to bike to bike gold medals.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Come on, man, what.
- 30:25Speaker 3: In my opinion, if he looked more like Michael Phelps,
- 30:30Speaker 3: he'd be a larger media attraction as well.
- 30:34Speaker 5: And this dude looks like a guy that's supposed to
- 30:37Speaker 5: be throwing a shot.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And that's my point. It's a lot of particulars. It's
- 30:40Speaker 1: not just always your common excellence. He can to be
- 30:45Speaker 1: able to say that even though it's only three medals, well,
- 30:49Speaker 1: he's only competing in one thing. So Michael Phelps might
- 30:53Speaker 1: have twenty three medals, or Katie Leadecki might you know
- 30:57Speaker 1: some own bowels, but you're competing, only competing in this
- 31:01Speaker 1: one thing. And so my three goals really equals each
- 31:05Speaker 1: time we walk to the Olympics, I win every single time,
- 31:10Speaker 1: and so it's really equivalent when you talk about that's
- 31:14Speaker 1: all I can do.
- 31:15Speaker 6: There are a few events in which if you're just
- 31:19Speaker 6: doing one event that you could have that kind of
- 31:22Speaker 6: recognition that he might be looking for. That would be
- 31:25Speaker 6: something like the one hundred meters. If that runner is
- 31:29Speaker 6: only running that event and they win gold, then that
- 31:32Speaker 6: can be enough because that's a lot more eyes will
- 31:35Speaker 6: be on that. The shot put is just not as sexy,
- 31:39Speaker 6: and that's all.
- 31:40Speaker 1: And that's the only reason I brought in giving some
- 31:42Speaker 1: love from me to him, Ryan Cruiser is that it's
- 31:45Speaker 1: just sometimes you're not the position other people coming to
- 31:50Speaker 1: the Olympics and I know you were sitting there. They
- 31:52Speaker 1: get to be the flag bearer, they get to do
- 31:55Speaker 1: all these things, and they didn't even they don't even
- 31:58Speaker 1: have a gold medal, right, that kind of thing. They
- 32:03Speaker 1: one step away from naming some kind of move in
- 32:06Speaker 1: the shot put from me. Oh, that's the Ryan c
- 32:09Speaker 1: you know right right, that's the Ryan Cruiser technique. That's
- 32:12Speaker 1: what's gonna be called Cruiser five.
- 32:17Speaker 3: They're already having terminology based on your performance and nobody does.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I'm quite sure somebody does a certain and it's it's
- 32:26Speaker 1: bio Lennox or something. Now, you know, they name stuff
- 32:29Speaker 1: like that. Or Michael Phelps has made people. They swimmers
- 32:35Speaker 1: were always doing it, but it seems like he personified
- 32:39Speaker 1: that whole ability to stay under water a long time
- 32:44Speaker 1: before he comes up. So now that's man, he was
- 32:47Speaker 1: under there like Phelps.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Right right. I wonder they do they They've done a
- 32:52Speaker 3: lot of talk recently with Cocoa Golf and with some
- 32:57Speaker 3: own biles and and even know a lot about their
- 33:01Speaker 3: mental health and their emotional state and as it relates
- 33:07Speaker 3: to their either withdrawing from a competition, being eliminated, coming
- 33:13Speaker 3: in second, something like that. This person who is the
- 33:17Speaker 3: best of the best, the best shot putter in the
- 33:19Speaker 3: world that no one knows. Do you think that has
- 33:22Speaker 3: a profound effect on him emotionally and mentally to walk
- 33:25Speaker 3: up to the USA celebration and everybody be on some
- 33:30Speaker 3: hold on, man, let us look on the list here, cruiser, cruiser,
- 33:34Speaker 3: Oh congratulations.
- 33:36Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Well, the track and field community knows, knowing, right, but
- 33:42Speaker 1: outside of that, that kind of world and people that
- 33:45Speaker 1: might be in that throat of shot put, but the
- 33:48Speaker 1: world doesn't know. I mean, you would think by now
- 33:52Speaker 1: even a little more coverage, a little more conversation. But
- 33:56Speaker 1: all we heard so far in this Olympics was like command,
- 34:00Speaker 1: you said, the sexy Yeah, the hundred Chakari has no goals,
- 34:05Speaker 1: but she has. And I'm not knocking. I'm just saying
- 34:08Speaker 1: a lot of people have are financially benefiting, and this
- 34:12Speaker 1: she has. This happens common.
- 34:14Speaker 3: This is common. It's just you aren't in the She
- 34:19Speaker 3: has no gold medals, but we know whose hair she's wearing.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I bet we know that. I bet you could google that. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 1: they send snoop who's there kind of as I say,
- 34:31Speaker 1: Masscot of this Olympics where he but you didn't see
- 34:35Speaker 1: him at the shot put ring. And it's so many
- 34:40Speaker 1: other if he ran the two hundred, if he was
- 34:42Speaker 1: a long jumper and won three goals, but the shot
- 34:47Speaker 1: put is just not something like that. But Ryan Cruiser, congratulations.
- 34:52Speaker 1: And I think the young man who came in behind
- 34:54Speaker 1: him also the last three Olympics has won the silver.
- 34:59Speaker 1: It's been like Joe Kovacs, right, so.
- 35:02Speaker 5: He just waiting on Ryan to retire and you ought
- 35:06Speaker 5: to go in to commentate.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Comment shot but yeah, yeah, and Ryan's like, hold on,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I don't think they switching gears real quick. The NFL
- 35:19Speaker 1: had their first game Hall of Fame game this weekend,
- 35:22Speaker 1: and we'll talk about the Hall of Fame inductees this
- 35:25Speaker 1: show as well. But they tried the new kickoff rules.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Did any of you see the game? All I've been
- 35:32Speaker 1: doing is reading the headlines. The NFL changed their kickoff
- 35:37Speaker 1: situation again, which is about the fourth time in five
- 35:41Speaker 1: years that they just keep changing. I'm exaggerating, but it's
- 35:45Speaker 1: something like that. It's not two far maybe four and
- 35:47Speaker 1: six years, right, I don't want to cheat them, but
- 35:50Speaker 1: they keep changing how you can kick the ball off.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You know it started off. You can't start getting wedge,
- 35:55Speaker 1: you can't hold hands, you can't run three people back.
- 36:00Speaker 1: They move the ball up so most kickers can kick
- 36:02Speaker 1: the ball through, so you don't even get to return.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Now they're trying, and I'm I guess I'm gonna have
- 36:09Speaker 1: to record a game just to catch it. Where they
- 36:13Speaker 1: got it from the UFL or excess field.
- 36:18Speaker 6: It's something adopted from from the from the UFL.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Where the coverage team is like already down the field.
- 36:27Speaker 1: They just staying like maybe ten yards apart from the
- 36:30Speaker 1: return team or something, and it's something like.
- 36:32Speaker 6: That, Yeah, they're ten yards apart. The carrier kicks off
- 36:35Speaker 6: from the they're on thirty.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Five as the kicker. The kicker is still back there.
- 36:41Speaker 5: Yeah. Wait, so hybrid ball.
- 36:45Speaker 6: So they're they're no, no, no, And so the coverage
- 36:50Speaker 6: team is down at the thirty yard line. The return
- 36:55Speaker 6: team is lined up at the twenty or maybe thirty five,
- 36:59Speaker 6: twenty five, and you have a returner, but no one
- 37:02Speaker 6: when the balls kicked off, no one moves until the
- 37:05Speaker 6: return man touches the ball.
- 37:07Speaker 3: All right, so today we got the Braves and the
- 37:09Speaker 3: Brewers and stepping up to the tee, we've got mister
- 37:16Speaker 3: raccooner Junior. Is that what we're doing now? We're taking
- 37:19Speaker 3: elements from the album less Popular, Less let's scene less
- 37:26Speaker 3: scene sport and blending it with the uh the.
- 37:32Speaker 6: There trying to make. They're trying to encourage returns and
- 37:38Speaker 6: having someone like Devin Hester going to the Hall of Fame.
- 37:42Speaker 6: And now we barely get a kickoff return. We might
- 37:45Speaker 6: get won again. They're trying to trying to bring it back.
- 37:49Speaker 6: You play, you play, You know these people, you've.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Been around them.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Well, I know they brought it back, in my opinion,
- 37:57Speaker 1: to be able to have more to have of gamble
- 38:01Speaker 1: on And I do know that.
- 38:04Speaker 5: And so well, there's the answer to the question.
- 38:06Speaker 1: They brought back so they can have more problem.
- 38:08Speaker 5: There's the answer to the question.
- 38:09Speaker 1: But I have no clue why they decided to come
- 38:12Speaker 1: up with this whole And I'm hoping and praying when
- 38:17Speaker 1: I do get to the bottom of it, some old
- 38:20Speaker 1: special team coaches maybe came up with this as a
- 38:24Speaker 1: way to do.
- 38:24Speaker 3: And look, we ain't gonna get to to to the
- 38:26Speaker 3: bottom and of it. Because it's got gambling and we
- 38:28Speaker 3: don't want to know too. But it's just seems we
- 38:32Speaker 3: uncovered something. And then the show go off the air.
- 38:36Speaker 3: We'll be back going to Sports Shock Show right after.

- 42:03Speaker 9: out there listening. Land glad to be here with you.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Guys. Come on, she Greg big Kenny here with me.
- 42:09Speaker 1: We've been talking about, uh, the Olympics. As we said,
- 42:13Speaker 1: Julian Alfred from Saint Lucia. They were saying the country
- 42:19Speaker 1: is maybe about two hundred thousand people. Yea man, and
- 42:22Speaker 1: she's still in the two hundred. So I'll do some
- 42:25Speaker 1: prelims in that. So if she can take back both goals,
- 42:31Speaker 1: and to me, if she can get the silver, if
- 42:33Speaker 1: she can place in the two hundred to go along
- 42:36Speaker 1: with the hundred.
- 42:38Speaker 5: Forget your getting that. I'm saying, they make a prime
- 42:41Speaker 5: minister Saint Lucia.
- 42:43Speaker 1: I'm telling you that was that was.
- 42:45Speaker 6: He in the hundred. That was their first medal ever.
- 42:48Speaker 6: So yes, she already prime minister.
- 42:51Speaker 1: And then and she she's part of that because two
- 42:55Speaker 1: or three people have talked to me about how other
- 42:57Speaker 1: countries pay more for that, and I'm I'm telling them sure,
- 43:01Speaker 1: because other people, first and foremost, they embrace those Olympic heroes,
- 43:07Speaker 1: similar to I feel like our country did it one
- 43:10Speaker 1: time and it's just half. It seems like maybe we're
- 43:13Speaker 1: getting back to that a little more love for our
- 43:16Speaker 1: Olympic athletes. This this year seems a little more like
- 43:21Speaker 1: the eighty four Olympics. Yeah, that where everybody was, you know, embrace,
- 43:26Speaker 1: and then we kind of just kind of got a
- 43:27Speaker 1: little arrogant. People stopped watching the Olympics, you know, those
- 43:33Speaker 1: those whoever won gold was more of read about it
- 43:37Speaker 1: the next day, then.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Watch it catch them on the Lake Show.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Right. And now for some Rea I don't know, what,
- 43:44Speaker 1: but it seems that people a little more back into
- 43:46Speaker 1: the Olympics and in other countries they demand gold. Now
- 43:50Speaker 1: when you're coming over here with that silver won't get
- 43:53Speaker 1: you on the party list.
- 43:55Speaker 5: And now when you're from St. Lucia or anywhere in
- 44:00Speaker 5: those countries.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Yeah, because I'm saying, like Saint Lucian, you say about
- 44:03Speaker 3: two hundred thousand people, So not only are they rooting
- 44:06Speaker 3: for you, but the surrounding territories are the closest ones.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Kind of like the people who live in Mississippi Route
- 44:16Speaker 3: for the Saints. You know what I'm saying, We're the closest,
- 44:19Speaker 3: So she'll be that girl everywhere in that area.
- 44:25Speaker 1: And even though it wasn't And to me, I feel like, yes,
- 44:30Speaker 1: individually those countries in the Caribbean, but I feel like
- 44:36Speaker 1: the Jamaican, the Puerto Rican, all those countries still would
- 44:44Speaker 1: feel like her metal.
- 44:45Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying that we all the US didn't
- 44:48Speaker 5: get it.
- 44:48Speaker 1: That's all they care about. So man, Saints, don't you
- 44:54Speaker 1: got that feeling like they're down there even though they're separate.
- 44:58Speaker 1: And yes, I can't really get on board because I'm
- 45:01Speaker 1: from you know, Yeah, that's what my friends are the Falcons.
- 45:05Speaker 1: I can't really get on.
- 45:07Speaker 3: It's the Saints beat American women didn't win exactly the hundred.
- 45:12Speaker 1: That's all I care about.
- 45:13Speaker 3: People from Mobyo, Alabama always like the Saints beat the
- 45:16Speaker 3: Falcons and you're like, well, you know where near, but
- 45:21Speaker 3: it's that area so.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Right, So you know, I think, and that monetarizing just
- 45:27Speaker 1: when you take gold back to those countries, you're a
- 45:31Speaker 1: national hero. Young man Macheawan is.
- 45:35Speaker 19: That his name?
- 45:36Speaker 1: The swimmer Leon mashan Yea or something like that. He
- 45:40Speaker 1: won like three or four goals in this Olympics in
- 45:43Speaker 1: France and he's swimming for France and they had the
- 45:46Speaker 1: president of France there, and.
- 45:48Speaker 5: It's like he got chocolate forever. You know, he's cologne
- 45:53Speaker 5: and chocolate and fashion until.
- 45:56Speaker 1: He's welcoming to you too fashion week. Yeah, yeah, you'd
- 46:01Speaker 1: be like, well, who is that sitting next to some
- 46:03Speaker 1: famous person they'll have He'll be the ahead of some
- 46:07Speaker 1: design house next. So we don't really see it like
- 46:11Speaker 1: that in our country because our national heroes still tend
- 46:13Speaker 1: to be of our major sports football, basketball base, But
- 46:20Speaker 1: we have that too. Olympics is kind of regulated to
- 46:25Speaker 1: how we see sock and I mean, excuse me, hockey, right,
- 46:30Speaker 1: we don't really have hockey idols in our country.
- 46:34Speaker 14: And if you don't have a sports idol like sexy
- 46:37Speaker 14: rad after Gretzky, no one, no one talks about, like
- 46:43Speaker 14: there's not that kind of name. But I wanted to ask,
- 46:46Speaker 14: does it You think it has something to do with
- 46:48Speaker 14: the It may be something as simple as the time
- 46:52Speaker 14: zone that it's in, like if Paris is five to
- 46:56Speaker 14: six hours ahead and people don't know when to watch it.
- 47:01Speaker 14: But I remember there being so much attention with the
- 47:04Speaker 14: ninety six Olympics in in Atlanta, and that's how you
- 47:10Speaker 14: know we still know about you know, Michael Johnson or
- 47:14Speaker 14: even or even Donovan Bailey or you know those those athletes.
- 47:21Speaker 14: We know about them in America just because we were
- 47:24Speaker 14: able to watch it at a normal time.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Oh so you're thinking, well, what about the Olympics when
- 47:31Speaker 1: it was in Brazil. It was in the same kind
- 47:34Speaker 1: of it's it's close to that that time time zone
- 47:37Speaker 1: to watch it.
- 47:38Speaker 3: But do you think that that's because I know that
- 47:42Speaker 3: the host channel of the Olympics, NBC, does primetime coverage
- 47:48Speaker 3: every night I think from seven pm to midnight, and
- 47:52Speaker 3: then they do a I think a seven am to
- 47:57Speaker 3: noon or something like that in the morning. So we're
- 48:01Speaker 3: in a day and age where we can catch the
- 48:03Speaker 3: event when we like, we don't even have to watch
- 48:06Speaker 3: the full event. We can just catch the finish or
- 48:09Speaker 3: something like that. So the viewership is tallied in different ways.
- 48:13Speaker 3: It used to be like with music, you had to
- 48:15Speaker 3: buy the album and they were like, wow, that's where
- 48:17Speaker 3: the sales come from. But now there are million selling singles,
- 48:22Speaker 3: you know what I mean, So we consume that kind
- 48:24Speaker 3: of content differently.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Big goal win and seems like maybe Novak Djokovic who's
- 48:32Speaker 1: won everything in tennis but never won a gold medal,
- 48:36Speaker 1: and he seemed to be embracing it, like when they
- 48:38Speaker 1: was showing it like almost like now the journey is complete.
- 48:45Speaker 20: I've done that, I've checked off all the I've gone
- 48:47Speaker 20: full circle, right, I've done it all now, so that
- 48:51Speaker 20: there was one thing that I wanted. There was one
- 48:54Speaker 20: thing I wanted.
- 48:55Speaker 1: To be accepting an award after so many and so
- 49:00Speaker 1: long and so dominant. More like he was seventeen right
- 49:05Speaker 1: and was getting his It was almost like now the
- 49:07Speaker 1: set is complete. I got all the Marvel characters I
- 49:11Speaker 1: was I got iron man. All I've been looking for
- 49:14Speaker 1: is hawk, looking for the Hawk, and now my set
- 49:18Speaker 1: is complete and you can put me in the tennis
- 49:22Speaker 1: path them I'll.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Be saying, I'm heading on to the house. I'll be coming,
- 49:28Speaker 3: I think next year with more than sports show right
- 49:31Speaker 3: after this.
- 49:36Speaker 8: You u.
- 49:39Speaker 1: We are you.
- 49:42Speaker 21: Elious look for all the folkman, john't go Awayne Born
- 49:49Speaker 21: of the Sports John Hill with Wayne Dambidius coming up next.
- 49:54Speaker 5: Here's Heather with the weather.
- 49:55Speaker 22: Well, it's beautiful out there, Sonny, and seventy five, almost
- 49:59Speaker 22: a little chill in the shade. Now, let's get a
- 50:02Speaker 22: read on the inside of your car.
- 50:04Speaker 1: It is hot.
- 50:05Speaker 22: You've only been parked a short time and it's already
- 50:08Speaker 22: ninety nine degrees in there. Let's not leave children in
- 50:11Speaker 22: the backseat while running errands. It only takes a few
- 50:14Speaker 22: minutes for their body temperatures to rise, and that could
- 50:17Speaker 22: be fatal.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Cars get hot fast and can be deadly.
- 50:20Speaker 5: Never leave a town in a car.
- 50:22Speaker 1: A message from Nitsandi Ad Council.
- 50:23Speaker 23: Hurting the game, we tough it out, feel exhausted, we
- 50:28Speaker 23: push on, feeling down, we pull ourselves up by the bootstraps.
- 50:33Speaker 23: But there are times when bootstraps aren't enough when stress
- 50:37Speaker 23: gets to us and we need to talk to someone
- 50:39Speaker 23: about what we're really going through. So we're going to
- 50:42Speaker 23: reach out because sometimes mental health is not a one
- 50:45Speaker 23: person job.
- 50:47Speaker 24: Is it?

- 51:41Speaker 1: Show and now back to the sports job Wayne.
- 51:48Speaker 25: Gamy center Court on sports News gossip blah blah blah
- 51:57Speaker 25: blah blah.
- 52:09Speaker 26: Watch I hate his wonder why Gabino got the game
- 52:12Speaker 26: a hat tyde thicky. All she wanted to do was
- 52:15Speaker 26: banger gotta add French braids. Now she ate sa you
- 52:18Speaker 26: know soone sensitive? She ask him?
- 52:20Speaker 6: Why say that?
- 52:21Speaker 1: Way back to the show up this one shock Wayne
- 52:24Speaker 1: Ken the interesting story and the judge must have been
- 52:28Speaker 1: a real baseball fan. But over the last couple of months,
- 52:34Speaker 1: we've been sharing a story of the Jackie Robinson statue
- 52:39Speaker 1: that was stolen from the kids park. It was in
- 52:44Speaker 1: a like a it was a like a little little complex.
- 52:49Speaker 1: I think it was maybe April or somewhere in there
- 52:53Speaker 1: where it was stolen. Well, and he caught up with
- 52:55Speaker 1: him quick, didn't he? Yes, they did, And the verdict
- 52:58Speaker 1: has come out. Ricky all direct, the forty five year
- 53:02Speaker 1: old who at least stood up, took responsibility, played guilty
- 53:12Speaker 1: and the judge gave him fifteen years. Yeah, that's the
- 53:17Speaker 1: look I had somebody go in tight on Big Kenny's face.
- 53:23Speaker 1: He was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for stealing
- 53:27Speaker 1: the Jackie Robinson statue, So that judge was basically setting
- 53:33Speaker 1: a precedent. Guys, he was trying to make sure everybody
- 53:36Speaker 1: around the country heard that we ain't gonna be.
- 53:38Speaker 5: Set a precedent. He made an example out of him too.
- 53:41Speaker 1: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 53:45Speaker 6: He's at a max for I don't know if it
- 53:47Speaker 6: was concerned it was a.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Discretion, damaged property and as a music to the crime
- 53:57Speaker 3: than years he need to have cut somebody take that
- 54:01Speaker 3: tumor's corner to pay the poison and dude, you got
- 54:06Speaker 3: off easy.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Yeah, fifteen years or forty one thousand dollars fine that
- 54:12Speaker 1: he has to pay that Little League park.
- 54:14Speaker 5: Wait wait wait now, forty one racks and fifteen years,
- 54:21Speaker 5: so even with good behavior he gonna.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Do so at forty one probably is to replace the.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Yeah statue all of that, and then the fifteen years
- 54:32Speaker 3: he had to maybe at least six or five five six.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't see him doing the whole.
- 54:38Speaker 5: Fifteen, but I'm saying for about six.
- 54:40Speaker 27: But still, I mean the fact that you arrested me.
- 54:43Speaker 27: I don't serve my time, sir. I went to jail
- 54:47Speaker 27: overnight for the statue thing. You're talking about fifteen.
- 54:50Speaker 5: But you stole it and destroyed it.
- 54:54Speaker 6: Oh that's different, and if it's if it's considered, it
- 54:57Speaker 6: could be I could be federal or something like.
- 55:00Speaker 5: Way different howe when you put it like that, Yeah,
- 55:03Speaker 5: you're right. Just I'll turn myself in judge.
- 55:05Speaker 1: The judge was just on one that day. He was like,
- 55:08Speaker 1: he was looking at a thing and you're out there
- 55:11Speaker 1: or you out there at the little Leave park now
- 55:13Speaker 1: steal in statues?
- 55:14Speaker 5: Sports shock because I would have.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Been up there in the road, like I would have
- 55:18Speaker 1: got the paper and read like are we trying to
- 55:23Speaker 1: do for stealingserve and full transparency when you read the
- 55:28Speaker 1: man's name and age.
- 55:29Speaker 5: First thing I said in my mind is forty five
- 55:31Speaker 5: steal a statue? I promise you. I said that in
- 55:35Speaker 5: my mind.
- 55:35Speaker 3: And that's where the judge went, Man, you out here
- 55:38Speaker 3: playing around boy at fifty fifteen.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Year teen whoa year's sentence for stealing And he confessed
- 55:45Speaker 1: he didn't even try to go through the whole trial.
- 55:48Speaker 1: He did say, you know which pleased me. I would
- 55:50Speaker 1: have gave him twelve now, because I do give you
- 55:53Speaker 1: a little break if you just go ahead on it.
- 55:55Speaker 1: It meant.
- 55:57Speaker 5: Yeah, see, i'd have got forty five years.
- 55:59Speaker 1: It has anything to do with it.
- 56:01Speaker 6: Out of the un they've already they've they've already rebuilt
- 56:07Speaker 6: the statue.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Okay, so it'll be so three thousand is for maybe
- 56:13Speaker 1: the bill they sent. Yeah, yeah, for all that. So
- 56:16Speaker 1: the statue already back up. It'll be stole three more
- 56:19Speaker 1: time before you get out. But yes, fifteen years, forty
- 56:26Speaker 1: one thousand, five hundred dollars he has to pay to
- 56:28Speaker 1: that little league for the damage. As Skip Bayless is out.
- 56:33Speaker 1: One of the stories of last week Skip Bailey's who
- 56:36Speaker 1: was at Undisputed? Undisputed was one of the top shows
- 56:40Speaker 1: when Shannon Sharp was there. It was too much arguing
- 56:44Speaker 1: for me, it was, but I think that was but
- 56:47Speaker 1: I think that's what they were selling. That's what they
- 56:49Speaker 1: were selling. That kind of catfight. Yeah, talk over each other,
- 56:53Speaker 1: disagree on everything, kind of show. Shannon has moved on
- 56:58Speaker 1: to ESPN from Fox and Skip Bayless and one thing
- 57:03Speaker 1: about it when you read it, Skip Bayless is seventy
- 57:06Speaker 1: two years old, headed towards seventy three, I think at
- 57:10Speaker 1: some point this year, so his rain starts to be
- 57:17Speaker 1: you start getting as much as you want to say,
- 57:19Speaker 1: you're connected to Generation Z, are you though at seventy three?
- 57:28Speaker 6: Well, I think with him though, Like I told you,
- 57:32Speaker 6: I can't watch those shows. And kind of the end
- 57:36Speaker 6: of me watching those shows is that when he was
- 57:39Speaker 6: on ESPN, it was the same topics every day. When
- 57:45Speaker 6: it was when Tebow was playing, he was talking. He would,
- 57:48Speaker 6: you know, hype Tebow, criticize Lebron no matter what happens,
- 57:54Speaker 6: talk about the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Brady. It was
- 58:00Speaker 6: like the comments of those topics every single day. That
- 58:05Speaker 6: carried into him being on FS one. And I think
- 58:10Speaker 6: that what changes the dynamic of of a having an
- 58:17Speaker 6: actual athlete on the other side, not another journalist on
- 58:20Speaker 6: the other side. So that's going to create a new dynamic,
- 58:23Speaker 6: a new perspective. And that worked. But all the behind
- 58:28Speaker 6: the scenes stuff that I've heard and read about that,
- 58:32Speaker 6: I'm surprised it lasted this long, honestly.
- 58:34Speaker 1: So it really exposed that, if I'm hearing you right,
- 58:40Speaker 1: it exposed by putting him there with Shannon Skips ability
- 58:44Speaker 1: to go too far with what he's his opinion. Yeah,
- 58:49Speaker 1: it's it's it's if he's there with another it can
- 58:54Speaker 1: go further. Yeah, which it gets to a certain.
- 58:58Speaker 6: Point with another athlete, it can get disrespectful on his
- 59:02Speaker 6: from his from him, but with another journalist they can
- 59:06Speaker 6: say what it whatever.
- 59:08Speaker 5: Yeah, because there was Stephen A. Smith on the other
- 59:10Speaker 5: side of them.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Yes, I've always found that there is more harmony when
- 59:16Speaker 1: you watch a show where the panel is injected with
- 59:20Speaker 1: more people that actually of it is of that Yeah,
- 59:26Speaker 1: there are peers or of that event. You get a
- 59:29Speaker 1: better sense, you know, because it's cool with one person
- 59:33Speaker 1: that might not be part of the five, you know,
- 59:36Speaker 1: but you can't have talk talking about comedy but only
- 59:41Speaker 1: one of the people up there is a comed right,
- 59:43Speaker 1: and the other four just giving there. Yeah, he see
- 59:47Speaker 1: what he should have done with that joke.
- 59:48Speaker 5: And when it comes to that, and when it comes
- 59:51Speaker 5: to that critical.
- 59:54Speaker 3: Being being critical of the talent the people who actually
- 59:58Speaker 3: played the game, that's where it would breakdown with the
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: scale way hold on, skip no, Wi, you ain't never
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: you ain't never played nothing, because that's all Kevin Durant
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: would respond, Man, you ain't played, just saying, man, the
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: dude be talking and he ain't never played.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: No, I'm telling you, kd. Lebron should have took that
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: last shot.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: You don't know because because you ain't played, you ain't
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: never played. And that's and to see sometimes how it
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: would erode to the name calling and the insults. It
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: sort of makes me think like you have a soft
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: spot somewhere for that, like you really wish you had played.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: We'll be back with more than Sports Shock Show right
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: after this.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: Let's job.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Don't Go Away, or of the.
- 1:01:09Speaker 10: Sports Jock Show with Wayne Dambidio's coming up next.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Hear that.
- 1:01:19Speaker 28: That's the sound of your life, perfectly imperfect, beating in
- 1:01:26Speaker 28: rhythm to the world you've created. But every time you
- 1:01:30Speaker 28: drive after drinking, music gets drowned out. Your life sounds
- 1:01:37Speaker 28: pretty great. Don't let a buzz ruin it. Buzz driving
- 1:01:41Speaker 28: is drunk driving. Don't drive buzzed. A message from Nitz
- 1:01:44Speaker 28: in the ad Council.
- 1:01:45Speaker 11: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three
- 1:01:48Speaker 11: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:01:51Speaker 11: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: life insurance.
- 1:01:56Speaker 29: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:01:58Speaker 29: just getting started with our family and thought we lift
- 1:02:00Speaker 29: forever life insurance. What's the last thing on my mind?
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:02:05Speaker 29: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:02:07Speaker 29: bills piling up, I was worried how my family was
- 1:02:09Speaker 29: survive without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:02:11Speaker 29: the insurance informant.
- 1:02:12Speaker 11: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:02:15Speaker 11: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:02:18Speaker 29: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:02:20Speaker 29: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:02:22Speaker 11: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:02:25Speaker 11: whether you earn a little or a lot, All you
- 1:02:27Speaker 11: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:02:29Speaker 11: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:02:33Speaker 11: two options, benefits or bills?
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Which legacy will you leave behind? Log on today, benefits
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: or bills? Dot Com? That's benefits or bills? Dot Com?
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Nous enough?
- 1:02:51Speaker 25: Why so serious?
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: And we hold the world ransom for.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out. Sure me broadcasting
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: live and Atlanta, Georgia to this. This is the Sports
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Shot Show with Wayne Dandy. You may show Tom comes,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: It's just.
- 1:03:23Speaker 15: I'm doing Yeah, I'm gonna.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Go on the way.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: You welcome back to the Swart Shock Shower Up the
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Sport Shock. Wayne Candy, Good morning to you. As we
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: roll into August, we on the last week of the
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Olympics in Paris. The Olympics will be in LA in
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: twenty twenty eight. Comanch you Greg says that Tom Cruise,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: the action star, will be doing a stunt at the
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: end of the Olympics that kind of illustrates the torch
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: being passed to La. So you know, if Tom Cruise
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: is in it, it's gonna be some explosions, it's gonna
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: be a body double.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: So it's gonna to his own which is which is
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: me sitting back thinking that.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Was not Tom and this is impossible to where the
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: alane took on that motorcycle.
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: Oh that the motorcycle. No, that was that was It
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: was him coming down that it was him on the
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: plane when it took off and he's hanging on the outside.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: That could have been doing because the plane hadn't took off.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: It just looked like it. Oh that was was.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: Now you know, I'm one of those weird movie people
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: that actually watch his out takes and and the excerpts
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: and things like that, behind the scenes director's cuts, and
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: when the plane actually went in the air, they it
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: was Tom. And now this is the thing they're saying
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: that the people who ensure these projects and all of
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: that are all in cardiac arrest because Tim is going
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: to time is going to ruin us financially, because he's
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: something's gonna explode and he's gonna burn up, and still insists,
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: and he just insists, and he's like, no, no, no,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I can't have anybody. But when you're on your like,
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: what fourteenth impossible mission, these missions are getting a little
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: bit easier, I would think, because an impossible mission you
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: only have one or two of those in a career.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: He's on like his fifteenth impossible mission.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: So it works. It'll be exciting to see that most
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: of us don't even catch the closing ceremonies anymore. And
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: rightfully so, you spent two weeks watching competition. I don't
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: need to see you leave. I can just turn on
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: and go on. I don't see you leave.
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: But such and such as performing.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Non an watch, you'll pack your clothes, like are we
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: really watching you?
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Getting the chaos and what makes you real mad. You
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: tune in in half of each country is gone. It's gone.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: They're not even there right.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: Noah Lyles is watching from home, waving on zoom. But
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: the Olympics is in its last couple of days.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: The pool is closed. The Americans were able to get
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: more gold medals in Australia. That was the big battle,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: who would come out with more goals. I think it
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: was eight to seven. America won more of the team
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: goals against Australia. I think Australia most of their seven
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: were individual goal medals over there. But go ahead.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Now in the sport of swimming, is that the United
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: States rival Australia. That's who it seems to have become,
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: because it seems like in each sport there's a country
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: that is our sort of our arch nemesis in those sports.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: So the Australians are swimming.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: So we're on the track now and most of the
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: events that you're probably going to be pulled to. The
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: two hundred meter men and women's is still on deck,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: the four hundreds still on deck. The relay matches, which
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: are really exciting, and some of the conversations around them
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: with US dropping the baton a couple of times, and
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: so it makes a lot of interesting things dropping it
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: in Russia and China.
- 1:07:25Speaker 16: When we.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: When we talk about this last week, the NBA and
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: the w n B A you see, I didn't call
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: them the Olympic teams. I just called them the NBA team.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: And the w NBA team will still be playing this
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: week as as well. I don't know if they should
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: be officially listed as Olympic team. It's just the NBA team.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: Well, I'm saying, their their.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: Other their NBA players, they got to the countries teams.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: We have four NBA coaches. Steve curR is a head coach.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: They got like Tyron Lou and Strostrial, people that we
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: don't even have, like the assistant We don't even have
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Steve Kerr's assistance. His assistance are other NBA head coaches.
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: But part of it, it's a professional operation, guys, we
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: need professional I'm just saying.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: And that was to Steve Kurr and the Golden State
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Warriors coaching staff, coaching staff or he went and got
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: three or four other or an assistant coach from the
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: SEC and one from the AC.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: They just it's that's as always been though I was
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: going to say that was our first professional team. Operation
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: was basketball and it hasn't changed since they don't want
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: to mess with the formula.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I suppose even even Silver is in the stands. Grant
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Hill is the one who put the team together. What
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: part of the team is college?
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: Somebody just came out of college. I mean they all
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: went to college. What except for Lebron but everyone else
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: went to a college. See how you reaching for right,
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: That's how they explained it in the meetings, even when
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: it was with the college players, like when Bobby Knight coached,
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: he had Mike Crsky was the but I'm saying the
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: head coach was a college coach. Ye, but the assistants
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: were other head college college head coaches and okay or
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: loud Olsa or something correct. And that's why I said,
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: this is everything about the basketball team. It's professional. After
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: lose after getting the Bronze in eighty eight in which
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: they say they lost but they won the Brons like, no,
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: we need to go to the next level.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: And I think the NBA team plays the country of
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Brazil tomorrow. But they're down to like the last three
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: games because it's only six of having games to win
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: the goal.
- 1:10:01Speaker 6: Yes, they full players three games and then it's and
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: then it's three games.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: So you're looking like a Saturday would be the championship
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: because I think that's the last night of the Olympics,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: so it'll go up until like Saturday.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Do you think that, because it's comprised top to bottom
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: of pros, that they're treating the Olympics like they do
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: any other Like they're still shooting endorsement commercials and they're
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: still doing podcasts and meeting with agents and hanging out
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: of the cascene you know, you know what I mean,
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: the same thing they do during the season. You think
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: a lot of that still goes on.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Well, I think this group the special part that will
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: drive them to the goal, not just because they're openly talented,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: but when you have Lebron kd Steph Curry, they won't
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: probably even be in the NBA in four years, right,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: because you're talking about Lebron's thirty nine, Steph is thirty six,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Katie is right there with him, thirty five, thirty six.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: You tell me, guys that most likely they won't even
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: be there for the next Olympics when you really look
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: at it, even someone like Anthony Davis has gotten along
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: into two for his body. If he's going to play
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: six seven more years, he won't be able to stop
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: and do this again in four years. Anthony Davis like
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: thirty two now something like that, so you don't see him.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: So some of these I think, when you know this
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: is your last time to revel in this, you definitely
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: want to end on a high note. And the best
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: person on the team for fun is Anthony Edwids, But
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: he's turning twenty three, you know, so man, that new generation.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: But the women's team dominant as well. I still believe
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: they should have sent some of those young angelies Caitlyn
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: Clark to be player at number eleven and twelve, just
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: to start getting the experience because Diana Tarassi doesn't even
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: really play. She'll start the game, and you know, I
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: don't know making a coach, I keep saying.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: I think a lot of these, well, this summer in particular,
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: we've seen missed opportunities to get that young, relevant, connected
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: talent some playing time and generate that buzz behind them.
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: Caitlyn Clark, Angel Reese should have been at the Olympics,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: that Caleb Williams boy should have played in the Hall
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: of Fame game, he should took three snaps something. And
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: maybe that's the old guard. Like when we talk about
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: like the Skip Bay, this is seventy two. The people
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: that he was connected to, the coaches, the the staff,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: those people are aging out too. In a lot of
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: that mindset is rooted in a time that has passed
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: when all we're gonna sit them behind this guy for
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: so long.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: And you know, we just don't see in.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: The US, the US women's soccer team with Trinity Rodman,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: that they kind of ushered in, right you know, some
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: of the controversy is that they didn't bring back Morgan,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Alex Morgan, and you see they've ushered in that new
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: group of nineteen to twenty two year olds like Alex Morgan,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: even though she's teetering. But that's part of that old
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: guard of Meghan Rippino. And we're gonna put in Trinity Rodman,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Dennis Rodman's daughter, excellent playing in the Olympics right now.
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: Well, I've heard that I used want to suggest that
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: the for soccer or for basketball, it should be if
- 1:13:59Speaker 6: they have these eighteen and under, seventeen and under teams,
- 1:14:04Speaker 6: the national team for the Olympics should be maybe twenty
- 1:14:08Speaker 6: two to twenty four and under, just so we don't
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: because there's no connection as far as like, Okay, we
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: have Lebron and KD and Steph, but this should be
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: for the young This kind of thing should be for
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: the younger players. They've they've done this already. Well except
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: for step Steph hadn't played in the Olympics before.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: And you have Tyler haller Burton. Yeah, and you have
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: so you have like two three young that will be
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Jason Tatum's only like twenty seven, Anthony Edwards Halliburton, so
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: you do, but have a couple that even if the
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: seven or eight older people don't come back, I got
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: three or four guys that have the experience to be
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: the new face of the LA Olympics.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Something I also wanted to ask is this is one
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: of the first Olympics that I remember where companies were
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: sponsoring the team. It used to be the United States
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: sponsored the Olympic contingent and sent them over there, and
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: as such, everybody was subject to the same rules and regulations.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: But if I'm sponsoring the basketball team and I'm Nike
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: seeing we're not really listening, you know, our concern is
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: getting great marketing out of it.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: But how do you do that as a country when
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: we were so divided?
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: Well, I'll let the politicians handle that.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: I'm saying, trying to get us we can't right, we're
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: not going to agree on anything.
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: Well, everybody can agree on it.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Easier to let the company's sponsor.
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: Nike made all the uniforms. Ralph Lauren made the opening
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: and they made the blazers. Then trying to get a
- 1:15:49Speaker 6: Republican senator so and so to talk to a Republican
- 1:15:53Speaker 6: a Democratic.
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: Senatorship, right, right, So now we just you know what
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: Nike said.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: We'll be back right after news.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Received.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:16:18Speaker 10: More of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Danbidia's coming
- 1:16:21Speaker 10: up next.
- 1:16:23Speaker 19: When someone has a problem, they just blurt it out
- 1:16:26Speaker 19: and move on.
- 1:16:27Speaker 15: Well, I lost my job and my parakeet is missing.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: How is your day?
- 1:16:33Speaker 19: But the real world is different. Managing life's challenges can
- 1:16:36Speaker 19: be overwhelming.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: So what do we do?
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: We get support?

- 1:19:10Speaker 1: of a what are you doing?
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: What are you doing? What Dave Robinson doing right now?
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Well, he had a son or daughter, played basketball, played
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: football at the football Yeah, football at Notre Dame. I
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: know recently in the last three four years that he
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: was playing football. I know I saw him a couple
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: of times in the stands. Dale Ellis the sharp shooter
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: from the NBA sixty four years old. He put you
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: in the mind of Steph's dad, Dale Curry. They had
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: that same silky smooth jumper from the corner Kareem Hunt
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: running back for the Browns. He's still there right, yes, yes,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: I tell you it's time the bone up on the NFL.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: Y'all ain't got.
- 1:19:58Speaker 5: Around tiny bones man.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: You must keep shooting in the Olympics air rifle and.
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: Volleyball. It would be volleyball getting down to the.
- 1:20:13Speaker 10: Goal.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: He is a free agent. Oh, he's a free agent. Okay,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: twenty nine years of a Trey Mason Warrior there to
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: your Trey first round draft pick that just never panned out.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Gurley showed up and that was kind of gurly disease.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: Thirty one years old. You only what played those three years? Right, Yeah,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: and he never came back, thirty one years of age.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Mike Greenberg the announce her is fifty seven. Max Kellerman
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: as well to announce fifty one. Michelle Yoo is sixty
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: two years old. She's always just great in the role
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: she plays, especially when she's in those action movies. She's
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: real believable. Yeah, Like she really knows the dragon style
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: right right right? And how old is she was in
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Crouching Tiger Hitting Dragon and now she how you said
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: her last name yo or I think I've heard it
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: pronounced yo yo. Okay, okay. She was one oscar last
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: year for everything, everything all at once.
- 1:21:21Speaker 5: Yeah. And how old is she?
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: She is sixty two?
- 1:21:25Speaker 13: Is uh?
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: I'm saying, is that is that?
- 1:21:29Speaker 31: Is that? Two?
- 1:21:29Speaker 21: Is that?
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: I don't I don't know if you can beat her
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: swan style.
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: Oh, she can see my falling bear. I'm telling you,
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: she would get my my leaping monkey style. I'm telling
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: you now claw clock.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Former Olympic runner Lolo Jones is forty two. The man
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: in the middle Patrick Ewing is sixty two is Pat Ewing.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: James Gunn. The director is fifty eight. Actor Jess Williams
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: is forty three. Anthony Edwards, a man, is twenty three.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: Roger Clemens, one of those guys that Major League Baseball
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: should just be shame of the rocket baby, is a
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: Hall of Famer. You'd have to you would win money
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: from people asking him that quest. They would think he's
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame. That's how dominant Roger Clemens was.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't even know what he's not
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: Four he was on that list.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:22:29Speaker 32: What list is that you know the list of the
- 1:22:33Speaker 32: It's like if the if the Jeff they did he list?
- 1:22:37Speaker 32: What if they because we made all of them all.
- 1:22:41Speaker 6: If they think you did steroids and you didn't test positive,
- 1:22:46Speaker 6: that you didn't get tested at all, that someone saw
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: you buy a bottle of the steroids, they saw you
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: standing near one's like, oh, that's his bottle.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: So then you're not in the Hall of Fame. This
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: is the same he was Berry Bonds. So Darryl Strawberry
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: About say, Daryl Strawberry somewhere like, hey, man, I'm telling y'all,
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: it's not the problem was the problem, but the problem
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: was you know what I'm saying.
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: The problem was a bottles. Man, y'all should have y'all
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: should have stayed.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I'm saying guys like that, but that y'all gonna be
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: all technical.
- 1:23:21Speaker 5: Yeah, okay.
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: And and Darryl's probably you know who was his boy?
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: Who was Daryl Strawberry boy? Was two of them?
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: Why goodin Doc Good? Yeah?
- 1:23:33Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: They done snorted about the league's worth a base line.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: I'm talking about now, a triple heads worth of base
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: lines in one day.
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: And they still made the Hall.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Marquis Houston, the R and B crooner, is forty three.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Jeff Gordon, one of the greatest ever be on the racetrack,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: is fifty three. Barack Obama, former President of the United States,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: is sixty three up and the greatest running back in Washington.
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: Can I say the old football team, Yeah, yes, you can't.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: I mean because he didn't really play. He didn't play
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: play for the Commanders.
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: He didn't play for the Commanders.
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: Well, I think you put if you put it in tandem,
- 1:24:22Speaker 6: you won't get in trouble.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Okay, Washington Redskin Commanders. Yes, okay, because he didn't play
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: for the Commanders.
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: That doesn't he didn't play for the Redskin Commanders either.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: I'm saying, don't do that. Don't do that.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: See, And that's how I start is as long as
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: it sounds like something that you're comfortable with, you're willing
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: to let him murder it. However, he wants to know
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: he played for the Washington Redskins when they were well,
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: can we say that played when they were the.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Washington Redskin John Rickins, bad boy seventy five years old.
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: Bad boy probably still give you ten y'all.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: Well, he was part of that first group of that
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: would take reservations for smoke.
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: He can still get you ten.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: You get the ball and you know, table for three,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: raised of hands like some table for three.
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: You, sir, looking cheapishly and averting your standing.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: No, I'm talking to you me. No, no safety down
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: in the bus.
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: No, No, that's not me.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: No, I'm looking right that I.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Not, sir. I was looking at this guy now, sir.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I'm him you you, sir, have a good day.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: He was one of those Earl Campbell type.
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: Yeah. John Rigg is probably still get you ten twelve, y'all.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: I'm saying, how old is he seventy five?
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: You got to get him down the goal line. You
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: can't just put him out on forty five trying to
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: get a first down. He's straight gold lion, stand.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: And command you. Greg said, there is a new concept
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: on the rise, virtual batting cages and all at a
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: place called backed Box. It's in the framework and probably
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: created by the same people that brought you Top Golf,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: the exact same So it's just basically Top golf with
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: batting cages, yes, very much. Instead of golf, which is
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: a great idea based on the area because you could
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: look at the area engauge which of the two sports
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: that people would rather come out to. And batting cages
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: have always been fun to take your kids or udate
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: it showed it actually shows you that you wouldn't hit
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: that ball.
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: Yeah, get your show though. You know, we talked to
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: d Land on this show quite a bit and he
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: uh is very connected to the programs up in East
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: Cobb and he talks about that a great deal living
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: in Cobb County. It wasn't until this summer that I
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: really became aware of how many individual baseball press operation
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: centers there are in Cobb County. Like everybody's got a
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: forty five thousand square foot warehouse where they teach you
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: out of hit and scoop the ball and pitch better.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: And I was like that, you know, it's big business there.
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: And we'll be back with more to Sports Jock Show
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: right after this.

- 1:27:39Speaker 5: ignore me.
- 1:27:41Speaker 24: Carve my path with data and drive, but some people

- 1:30:12Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Sport Shock Show. I'm the Sportshock
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: Wing Candy commands you. Greg Big Kenny in the building
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: with me as well. Freddie Freeman on a sad note,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: this son has made it home. He's three year old
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: named Max has a rare nerve disease that has had
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: Freddie having to miss a couple of games and visit
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: him in the hospital. I'm not sure if his life
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: threatening or not, but it's some kind of rare nerve
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: disease that his young son has at three years old.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: So at least he's home, which is always a situation
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: that you find in favor. When you don't have to
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: sit in the hospital, it has a little more hope
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: to it. So I have to look up the disease
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: to see if it's something that just something he will
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: live with the rest of his life life or something
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: that could end his short life. But Max is only
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: three years old. Clyde Edwards Hilaire, the Kansas City running Back,
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: speaking up on PTSD. I love that he spoke up
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: on this case that he had. I know I've spoken
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: in kind of just way sometimes with different people, mainly
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: the guy that's missing him on the show, just about
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: guns and violence. And Clyde Edwards Hilaire is PTSD is
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: driven from incident back in twenty and eighteen where he
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: had to shoot a young man in self defense, killing
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: the kid. And it's one of those things that touched
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: me because I'm always pleading and it sounds like I'm,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: like I said, making fun, but I'm always pleasing. I
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: don't want to be shot, but I also do not
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: want to shoot you. I find them in the same
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: vein of life altering everyday thought. Does that make like
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: you know that I had to be in that situation?
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Either way, it seems to be like something to me
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: that just wouldn't for how my mind works. Some people,
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: I think are relishing a day where they get to
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: actually shoot somebody, and I think my mind is just
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: not there. I'm hoping to get in another twenty five
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: point thirty and leave here without that ever being an
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: option for me.
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: You know, I think the people who are looking or
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: who imagine themselves to be looking for an opportunity to
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: shoot somebody don't have a first person POV for gun violence.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: It hasn't hit home for you yet. But when you
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: are forced to defend yourself, when you know someone that
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: you love dearly who's taken from you tragically by gun violence,
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: the appeal will wear off very quickly.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: And it's just one of those things that when I
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: was reading and him saying that it's a he's coping,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: he's learning, he's talking to people, he's going to get help.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: But when you hear it, typically you think, oh, he's
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: dealing with somebody shot him. This case, he shot someone.
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: It wasn't an attempted robbery. What happened.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Yeah, some money was attempting to rob him and he
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: ended up discharging the gun and killing. I think the
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: kid was eighteen nineteen years old at the time, and
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: it's just not what he wanted to do now and
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: he's not still what's this six years later? Yeah, not it,
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: you know, because those same people who want to shoot
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: people think probably think it by the end of the night,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: you know, away.
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: They this dude out, go get me some wings and
- 1:34:18Speaker 5: you know, and keep it moving, keep it.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Yeah. So that is how he has been spending training
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: camp and I guess sometimes it comes and goals that
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: he has those moments. Marvin Harrison Junior, the great receiver
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: drafted by the Cardinals if I remember the draft correct,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: with the second pick or the third.
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: I think the first three were quarterbacks, so it was fourth.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: He was the fourth pick of the draft is Marvin
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: Harrison Junior. And even then there was some controversy of
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: the sports company he signed with. Right even then he
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: signed with Fanatics or someone that was basically a rival
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: of the NFL. No what it's.
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: The players from through the n NFLPA would sign have
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: signed or working with Fanatics if they haven't signed anything
- 1:35:17Speaker 6: with them for any apparel with their players' names to
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: be sold on their site. So it's like Fanatics as
- 1:35:25Speaker 6: the official company to buy NFL apparel, and but the
- 1:35:33Speaker 6: players have to sign over that I am allowing you to.
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: Sell my jersey with my name on your site.
- 1:35:44Speaker 6: And they do, and the players do get like some
- 1:35:46Speaker 6: money off of that, but they have to actually sign
- 1:35:49Speaker 6: to for someone to sell stuff with their name on it.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: And right now online you can't buy his jersey. Is
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: that how the case goes?
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: Right? Even on NFL shop dot com or just au fanatic.
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: Yeah, NFL shop dot com, like any anything like his
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: jersey's not being sold anywhere.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Until this situation. Yeah, Okay, some Marvren Harrison Junior ice
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: Cube is offering a chance for the Olympic champions of
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: the Three on three to play one of his teams
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: from the Big Three League in a three on three competition, Right, Okay,
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: that should be easy to set up from the standpoint
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: of the Olympic team. They would be trying to monetarize
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: that they But will he open his league up to
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: that because his league has kind of been more catered
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: to a specific group than a three on three competition.
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: His league has always been what I feel like replaced
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: the Harlem Globe trop And I was going to ask this,
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: not a league where it was like, we three get
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: together and join as much as he well he is
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: it together.
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: And that's what I was wondering.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Would it would this be a Okay, I'm gonna get
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: you from this three on three team and you from
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: that three on three team and then you It's not
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: some guys I thought it was whoever won the three
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: on three championship?
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Okay, is that what he's gonna do, his three on
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: three champion versus them?
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: That's what I thought it was.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: Well, that's a good way to go for him as well.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: But I'm white. I was thinking the Olympic team that
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: would win it, they would want to because they're not
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: going They're not going back to a league like the
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: basket like the NBA guys, right, they're just going back
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: to unless the team because I don't even think our
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: team was made of all. Was any of the guys
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: on our team this year in the NBA currently they
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: all are Jimmy Foday was as far as the three
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: three three, Yeah, none of none of our players. For
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: I know, the the women's three on three team had
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: like two w NBA players in it.
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: Yeah, and Ryan Howard's one. I don't know if she
- 1:38:06Speaker 6: played the young lady from the Sparks uh.
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Is one. Yeah, the young lady, the tall young lady
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: that got hurt. She was with the Sparks, Cameron Brink,
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: and then they replaced it with somebody from Yes, Derek O. Hammond,
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: and then they had the young lady the college point
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: guard the list. So it seemed like easy duty to me. Yeah,
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: but maybe ice Cube to create. But the only reason
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: I said that is that ice Cube League never seemed
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: like it was a real.
- 1:38:43Speaker 8: Lead.
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: Well, and then and then two with the three on
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: three governing rules and regulations. These three on three players
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: are playing for a country, like will their country release
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: them to?
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: Where?
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: Will they play this game in the United States where
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: they have to have some sort of diplomatic attaches?
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: Our players are just athletes, kind of like independent contractors.
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: We out here hooping around having fun. But I'm from
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: Lithuania and I'm playing for Lithuania. I'm all of that.
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: The sponsors are director are connected to the country soul.
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: Would we go to their country and play? Would this
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: be in a neutral site?
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: Well, that's something that cub would have to have to
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: work out. That's something that yeah, and they probably would
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: play better to have them come here, I'm sure as
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: a smart will tour something like that. So that is
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: what's ice Cube is trying to get his hand in,
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: and I'm quite sure try to set it up for
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: a consistent Olympic thing that in each Olympics have a
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Big three president, it'll be some kind of Big three
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: they as their next thing. Because you want to take
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: care of take advantage of it being the it thing. Yes,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: so the best way to shut it up is always
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: be the week after the Olympics we played this tournament
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: between each other. Where else are we at in Kobe
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: bryant Is locker, which I would like to know who
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: sold the locker. Kobe Bryant's locker for at Staples Center
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: sold for two point eight million, but I cannot get
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: any info on who sold staff sold it.
- 1:40:39Speaker 6: Well, I guess it would be through the Lakers because
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: someone a staff member found the locker in the basement
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: or storage room at what is now Crypto dot Com.
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: Arena and.
- 1:40:54Speaker 6: It had his name plate and a couple of other
- 1:40:57Speaker 6: things that were his.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: So yeah, but I can't just go down and take
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: the locker because you had it down and the base
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: whoever owns the arena could do it. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: Did the Bus family?
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: It's got to be because it's still our property. You
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: still have to clear it with us. Yes, right, that's
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: what I'm saying. Now, Now this is the thing. I
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: own a car dealership.
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: Southersby's auction house is the one who washed it off.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: So but for Southerby's to get the clearance, the permission
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: to have the item itself delivered to put on display
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: for auction, how did that part happen? Because I could
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: have an old car dealership and in the basement of
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: that dealership is an eighty three model just because ain't
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: nobody using it, it ain't been drove and it ain't
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: been so it still belongs to the dealership.
- 1:41:53Speaker 5: So you can't just come in and go, hey man,
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: I'll take this off your hands.
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: Somebody got to see you walk out the door with it,
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: And I always wondered, was it the Bus family that
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: was on some man? Don't mean that much because you
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: you're making three statues of Kobe what you know?
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: You want to Yeah, you would think you would set
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: that up somewhere somewhere Breeze Whether people could take pictures
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: in front of it.
- 1:42:15Speaker 6: The Ancients Entertainment Group, they owned the arena.
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: Okay, so it was theirs. Well it's yeah, because yeah,
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: it still would have been their property.
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: We'll be back with more than Sports Jock Show right
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: after this.

- 1:42:58Speaker 33: not a matter of if, but when. Don't find yourself saying.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: When the storm rolls in my time to find a
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: pet friendly evacuation center will have run.
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: Out the scorching heat way.
- 1:43:09Speaker 16: Believe me, paralys to cool my insulin.
- 1:43:11Speaker 7: I'll face a hurricane without mets. Now that's a tough
- 1:43:14Speaker 7: pill to swallow.

- 1:44:58Speaker 1: This voice up? Job? I'm this boy stock Queen Kendie.
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: We talked about the NFL this past weekend with the
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: Hall of Fame Game. The Hall of Fame inductees also
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: were put in and they got their jackets, they got
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: their buss of their faces. That group included some familiar
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: names like a Julius Pepper's, Devin Hester, Andre Johnson, Dwight
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: Freeney went in from Coltwell played with mostly his fame
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: came from the Colts, and then he moved around to
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: a couple of teams. There at the end, Steve McMichael
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: from Bears Folklore kind of almost putting that whole defense
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame, that eighty five defense, and
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: it was a touching moment to see some of the
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Bears players from that team go to the home that
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: Steve McMichael lives at, he has als and celebrate with him.
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: In that situation, a lot of speculation of would he
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: make it before he passed away, so he did get
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: to see his magical moment. As usual, I get those
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: questions of did I have a problem with an inductee,
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: And it was not really early in the show. I
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: was talking about people just in the wrong city, someone
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: like Andre Johnson, the receiver just playing for the Texans
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: at that time. It wasn't it wasn't. It's not a
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: team that people really paid attention to. They wasn't doing
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: no super winning in his time there, So you can
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: be doing great work on the wrong team.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think when I think about Andre Johnson,
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: I would counter that with a Megatron. He was on
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: a team that nobody really seemed to care about. He
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: got into the Hall, but it was with a lot
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: of without a lot of fanfare. I will say that
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: no one knew he was leading the NFL in receiving
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: yards for you know, seven eight seasons straight because nobody
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: cared about Detroit.
- 1:47:25Speaker 5: So and I mean respectfully, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: They play in the NFL, but nobody was checking for
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: Detroit like that. So nobody was like, hey man, how
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: come Megatron doesn't get his respect that well? You know,
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: but the Hall did recognize him.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: So Patrick Willis, also the great forty nine er linebacker,
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: wasn't inductee. The only question around Patrick was not his greatness,
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: it was his longevity. His case becomes one of those
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: how long of greatness do I need to qualify? And
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: it's you know, Gail sarahs Terrell Davis. And that's what
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: took Terrell. That's really kind of what strung him out
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: a long time because people's like, yeah, but it was
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: only like five years, bro. You know, that's kind of
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: how they really looked at it.
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: So I think, like with like with Calvin Johnson, he
- 1:48:22Speaker 6: played seven eight years. I think because him getting in
- 1:48:27Speaker 6: that open the door for Patrick willis h to get
- 1:48:31Speaker 6: in after only And.
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: When we have that conversation the quantifying what qualifies you
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: as a Hall of Famer If you play two seasons
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: or twenty seasons, if you are dominant, if you are
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: that guy while you're on the field for your career
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: and you rack up those undeniable numbers and you do
- 1:48:58Speaker 3: what you undeniably do, that's all you can do, right.
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: I mean, it seems almost unfair to put some sort
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: of minimum amount of playing time on the Hall of
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: Fame because we know that because of the physicality of
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: the game, that the time is limited. Every time you
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: step out there, it could be your last time. So
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: for me to play at that high line.
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: You have guys that gave you two great years, how
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: would you con would you consider that Hall of Fame?
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: They had two breakout seasons and.
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's what I'm saying, two seasons doesn't seem
- 1:49:38Speaker 3: long enough. But to say ten seasons seem a little
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: too long for a lot of average careers because based
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: on position, that would limit some positions even ability to
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: play that long, like running backs their their careers.
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: But that is the biggest question of how do you
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: quantify what is Hall of fame r Is it impact?
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: Is it numbers? Is it longevity? How would you quantify
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: how many.
- 1:50:14Speaker 5: Years did Barry play?
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: Ten?
- 1:50:17Speaker 14: Ten?
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: His impact undeny him. But ten years is a long
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: time time to be playing too. So I think when
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: we think of a Barry, that's kind of who. That's
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: who we want to go in the Hall of Fame,
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: somebody like that. You you showed up, you showed out,
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: and you did that for minimum ten twelve season straight.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: And for the and and that's what I'm saying. For
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: the body of work, the only question would loom over
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: someone like a Patrick Willis is not the body of work,
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: it's did you do it long enough?
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: Yes? Yes?
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: So you know ray Lewis someone who played basically twice
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: as long as a Patrick Willis, it's like, oh, it's
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: no doubt. But when it comes to those people, and
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: Patrick Willis walked away from the game, it was no
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: injury or anything. He just decided he didn't want to
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: play anymore. I think after like six years, maybe seven
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: at most. Yeah, he just kind of walked away. So
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: the big question of how you make the Hall of
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: Fame is it's always been what are we going by
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: the impact that it was? Even in a sport like
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: basketball with Dennis Rodman, the Dennis Rodman type player. Really
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: until he came along, the guys before him got shunned
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: like that wasn't significant enough to make the Hall of
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: Fame because it seemed like it was all based on
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: how many points you had and championships and things like that, right,
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: and he came along and ushered in this no utility
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: an impact.
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: We irritate more than he irritates more guys under the
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: basket than anybody in the league.
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: Like it's a talent.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: Yeah, the four or five things he did really won
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: the game for us Man. It had nothing to do
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: with scoring forty points. So had green hair made all
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: the difference. We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: right after this. Just now, I caught you to be ball, Yeah,
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: be ball, you know your seal.
- 1:52:26Speaker 10: And all the streets again, John Boy, Wayne Board of
- 1:52:33Speaker 10: the Sports Josh show with Wayne Gandia is coming up.
- 1:52:36Speaker 11: Next, and now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:52:40Speaker 11: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:52:44Speaker 11: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 1:52:48Speaker 11: have life insurance.
- 1:52:49Speaker 29: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:52:50Speaker 29: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:52:53Speaker 29: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:52:58Speaker 29: When I was forty in college and bills piling up,
- 1:53:01Speaker 29: I was worried how my family would survive without me.
- 1:53:03Speaker 29: That's why I'm made an appointment with the insurance informants.
- 1:53:05Speaker 11: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:53:08Speaker 11: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:53:11Speaker 29: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:53:13Speaker 29: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:53:15Speaker 11: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:53:18Speaker 11: whether you earn a little or a lot, All you
- 1:53:20Speaker 11: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:53:22Speaker 11: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:53:26Speaker 11: two options, benefits or bills.
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: Which legacy will you leave behind? Log on today benefits
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: or bills? Dot com. That's Benefits or Bills dot com.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: And now back to the Sports Job Wayne Gandy. Now
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: it's time.
- 1:53:45Speaker 25: Put a school board when we put a spin on
- 1:53:48Speaker 25: life and sports and how they intermingle on the Sports
- 1:53:53Speaker 25: Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Went back to the smoy Shop show. I'm this small shop.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Wing Kndi controversy started last week with a boxer A
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: Money khalif. It carried over the weekend a lot of
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: conversation about the bout that only went forty six seconds
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: against Angela Quarini. Speculation rumor is that Karni make it
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: up to fifty thousand dollars awarded to her after the
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: Olympics based on as we predicted her ability to protests
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: at the moment, what we thought was a situation of
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: Ms Kareni fighting a transgender Now over throughout the weekends,
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: there's still a lot of questions. The Olympic committee is
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: saying A Money khalif Is was born a woman. Is
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: that not what the last that that's some reports that
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: reports coming out of the Olympics was born a woman.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: But at the start of the Olympics they designated that
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: they had to transgender athletes who.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: Had been disqualified in prior competitions based on having tested
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: as males hormonally.
- 1:55:59Speaker 5: Now this and like we just looked at you and
- 1:56:02Speaker 5: was like, nah, that's a dude.
- 1:56:04Speaker 33: Bruh.
- 1:56:04Speaker 3: We actually did the test and it came back you
- 1:56:09Speaker 3: had Uh it was to the x Y chromosome.
- 1:56:13Speaker 5: I think it's what they were saying. And then all
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: of a sudden changed.
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, this's a girl.
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: She just she's just a strong girl.
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: So right now we sit basically and I guess we
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: still have to let the story breathe. I don't know
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: which which report is actually the truth. Are we dealing
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: with this? Yeah? Are we're dealing with Angela Corarini. And
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: then if you did that, you gave her some mixed
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: information going into the ring, and then too because she
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: really left and that was her Yeah, yeah, that was
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: her excuse for not fighting.
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: And then we have to consider if it is that
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: moanic Calif is.
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: In fact born a female, then steal with this test,
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: she'd be eliminated because we know castor Semea had similar situation.
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: Born female, very dominant, did some tests and now she
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: can't run.
- 1:57:18Speaker 6: So but in this in this case, what makes it
- 1:57:21Speaker 6: even more cloudy is that the the IBA, the International
- 1:57:26Speaker 6: Boxing Association, who would kind of determine if someone can
- 1:57:30Speaker 6: fight in the Olympics or not. They've been banned by
- 1:57:33Speaker 6: the International Olympic Committee, so they disqualified Amani Khalif, right,
- 1:57:40Speaker 6: and and the.
- 1:57:41Speaker 5: IOC came for her to fight.
- 1:57:45Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, But either way, whatever testing they did, whether
- 1:57:50Speaker 6: whatever either group testing that they did, we don't really
- 1:57:55Speaker 6: know about. They're not really explaining that well.
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: I'm saying, and a lot of that leaves people can
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: because that let me see your birth certificate.
- 1:58:02Speaker 5: It ought to be easy to prove. You understand what
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: I'm saying.
- 1:58:05Speaker 3: We're talking about science, we're talking about documentation, things that
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: are instantly accessible. So I don't know how we're confused
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: about what we're trying to assert with this athlete.
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: Is she or isn't she?
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: And whatever you put out there was enough to affect
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: the other boxer to believe right, it is my thinking.
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: So you're saying is one thing. But whatever you were
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: selling initially reports were you said there was two transgenders
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: in the women's side of the bracket, and the one
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: that I was boxing was supposed to be one of them. Correct,
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: and that's how all this started. And now you're saying, oh, no,
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: she was born a woman, right, so you could have
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: went on and fought them. I'm confused, y'all. Y'all see,
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: this is the confusion you'd be bringing Comanchi Greg with
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: your new style of thinking thinking. Yes, I don't know
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: what Freddy Crittington is that his name? How you say
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: his name? Crittenden? Crittenden, the one ten hurdler.
- 1:59:26Speaker 5: I'm familiar.
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: For you that watched the one ten preliminaries, you saw
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: Freddy not run. He was taking advantage of the new
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: rule they have on the track where they give like
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: a certain amount of the loser or all the losers
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: a chance to still make the Olympics. I forget what
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: they call it, but there's a term they're calling it,
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: like if you don't win your heat they he did,
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: everybody else run and then whoever wins that gets a
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: chance to still make the next round participation reprisado or
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: repechageage or something like that. And I know I'm just
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: saying this because I was watching and he just went
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: through the motions and I didn't know what was going
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: to come out of that. I didn't know whether it
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: was going to be a protest because it looks like
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: at first he knowingly did not run the race. It's
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: not like he got out late and tripped, so he
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: was taking advantage of this new rule.
- 2:00:43Speaker 6: There's some audio on him it kind of explaining his choice.
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: OK, real quick before we go.
- 2:00:49Speaker 34: So it was an intentional choice. It a get top
- 2:00:52Speaker 34: three or everyone gets through to the repressage.
- 2:00:56Speaker 5: Every athlete has has a chance to race the repeicize.
- 2:00:58Speaker 34: So I decided to just not make an emotional choice,
- 2:01:01Speaker 34: make a smart choice, give my buddy time to recover
- 2:01:04Speaker 34: a little bit from being aggravated, lean on my medical doctors,
- 2:01:08Speaker 34: lean on.
- 2:01:09Speaker 5: God, and just wait for repertize. Y'all come on and
- 2:01:11Speaker 5: try to kill that resided drive.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: And so once you get so repechage, it's how it's
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: it's it's the new thing. I don't know if it
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: was in the last Olympics or it started now, but
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: you kind of still get if you lose to run
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: again and then only one person whoever wins that repechage
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: gets to move on.
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: Look, man, this this this for the best of the best,
- 2:01:34Speaker 3: and only one person can get here. But if you

- 2:01:53Speaker 1: your in the ocean.
- 2:01:55Speaker 25: It's time to rap things up on the Sports jug
- 2:01:58Speaker 25: show with the Wayny.
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: When you had the sounds of Ocean gives us hot
- 2:02:27Speaker 1: shots just a minute to event. Would like to think
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: our man Big Kenny and coman you Greg for coming

- 2:02:44Speaker 1: for one of our panelists today, and that's who's going
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: in the ocean. I'm quite sure I've already in the
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: ten eleven years that I've been here, done this numerous times.
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: I also like him shot. At the same time, all
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: of a sudden, he can't make the show today, but
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: he can make the Trump rally Saturday. Bad producer deciding
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: that he will miss out on me and Big Kenny,
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: but he wanted to let us know he was down
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: there with Marjorie Taylor Green and all his Trump buddies.
- 2:03:23Speaker 5: As my mother says, people make time for what they
- 2:03:26Speaker 5: think is important.
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: He gave me some kind of he was gonna be

- 2:03:35Speaker 1: out he was just I guess it's kind of space
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: if you go into a Trump rally. But yeah, that's
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: why we command you, Greg. We got put down for
- 2:03:47Speaker 1: the Trumpsters, which the bad producer decided he was over
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: the weekend here. So for that bad producer or Sports
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: Shock Show Sport, it's gonna be huge. It's gonna be huge.
- 2:04:13Speaker 3: And the dude Din already said, bad producer may be
