- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com. Now here's your host,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Na's a Chobie.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome to another edition of Hawk Talk. It's that time.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Come on NFC Championship game. The Los Angeles Rams coming
- 0:18Speaker 2: to Loominfield. Seahawks, first time making appearance in this game
- 0:21Speaker 2: since the twenty fourteen season. It's gonna be live. It's
- 0:24Speaker 2: going down, bump I'm excited. Round three, the Rams. Let's
- 0:28Speaker 2: get it man. Round three.
- 0:30Speaker 3: It's rare you play two teams three three times in
- 0:33Speaker 3: one season, but that's how good the NFC West is.
- 0:35Speaker 3: We knew something like this was gonna happen, probably gonna
- 0:37Speaker 3: be the Seahawks and the Rams.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Everyone projected. It is finally here. Let's trap them up. Absolutely.
- 0:42Speaker 2: When we interviewed the play by play voice for the
- 0:45Speaker 2: Rams the last matchup, JB. Long, he said he's like, well,
- 0:49Speaker 2: we have film. These two teams are gonna play again.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's just where will that third game be? Right, Well,
- 0:53Speaker 2: it's at looming here in front of the twelve, So
- 0:54Speaker 2: it's gonna be really fun. You know, both teams this season,
- 0:57Speaker 2: the Rams were the class of the NFC at one
- 0:59Speaker 2: point everyone's they were the best team in the league.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They kind of fell off after that Week sixteen game.
- 1:03Speaker 2: They've obviously done their thing to get back to this moment,
- 1:05Speaker 2: so it should be pretty fun looking at this matchup.
- 1:07Speaker 4: But let's dive right into it. What's on tap?
- 1:11Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 1:12Speaker 4: These Rams?
- 1:13Speaker 2: They were twelve and five regular season, second in the
- 1:15Speaker 2: NFC West. I'll jump to the postseason because that's what
- 1:18Speaker 2: it's about now. Second season, they won against the Panthers
- 1:21Speaker 2: thirty four to thirty one in the wildcard round and
- 1:23Speaker 2: then twenty two seventeen over the Chicago Bears in the Divisional.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Man and bump. It was cold as hell in Chicago, man,
- 1:29Speaker 2: it I mean I'm just watching it.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I felt over.
- 1:32Speaker 3: You see the little snowface coming down. Man, it was freezing, man.
- 1:36Speaker 3: And but you know, the Rams proved that they could
- 1:38Speaker 3: they can play in some cold weather.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I knew it was cold when I Puna Ford former Seahawks,
- 1:43Speaker 2: So you got love for that, man. But they were
- 1:45Speaker 2: talking about putting Kayenne Pepper and their yeah, all kinds
- 1:47Speaker 2: of stuff like that Scooba gear, all that stuff. Anyway,
- 1:51Speaker 2: they got it done, bump. What do you see from
- 1:52Speaker 2: that game?
- 1:53Speaker 3: The first drop of the game, the Bears were driving
- 1:55Speaker 3: down the field, but after coming up short in the
- 1:57Speaker 3: resident they decided to go four to fourth and two
- 1:58Speaker 3: for the Rams twenty one yard and kayleb was intercepted
- 2:01Speaker 3: by Kobe Durant Coplder. He's an interesting guy because his
- 2:05Speaker 3: numbers are better than his play. To me respect, he's
- 2:07Speaker 3: a starting quarter in the league. But he I mean,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I think he leads the league and interceptions in the
- 2:11Speaker 3: playoffs like he's been getting a lot of opportunities, he
- 2:14Speaker 3: making most of him. The Rams responding with a fourteen
- 2:16Speaker 3: play eighty five yard drive anyway, a Common wins four
- 2:18Speaker 3: yard touchdown that made the score seven to zero, and
- 2:21Speaker 3: the Bears that will respond with twelve play eighty yard
- 2:23Speaker 3: drive with their own DJ Moore get a touchdown reception
- 2:26Speaker 3: that tied the game at seven.
- 2:27Speaker 4: The next drive. The next five drives will not end
- 2:29Speaker 4: at any points.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Both teams would trade field goals to make the score
- 2:32Speaker 2: ten to ten, and a half third quarter will produce
- 2:34Speaker 2: zero points as well, in an interception from Caleb Williams
- 2:37Speaker 2: on the first possession of the fourth quarter. Though the
- 2:39Speaker 2: Rams take a seventeen to ten lead. After a fourteen
- 2:41Speaker 2: play ninety one yard drive ending with another Kyum Williams touchdown,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and then a turnerover on downs in a Rams punt,
- 2:47Speaker 2: the Bears got the ball back down seven, needing a
- 2:50Speaker 2: touchdown with one fifty left. Bears moved the ball pretty good,
- 2:53Speaker 2: but they were facing fourth and four from the Rams
- 2:55Speaker 2: fourteen yard line with eighteen seconds.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Left, and Caleb come with this gracious man pulled on
- 3:00Speaker 3: one of the craziest plays that we've ever seen. He
- 3:02Speaker 3: was facing pressure, he scrambled backwards for it was the
- 3:05Speaker 3: forty yard line and then threw up a prayer. The
- 3:07Speaker 3: prayer was answered by Cole Comet as he brought down
- 3:10Speaker 3: the Hell Mary's somehow tying the score at seventeen's. I
- 3:12Speaker 3: remember watching this play at a local tavern, Okay, and
- 3:17Speaker 3: no one was talking to each other before that. After
- 3:19Speaker 3: that play, we all knew each other because everyone's going crazy.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Man, that was one of the best throws of the year.
- 3:25Speaker 4: It was.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I mean, there's probably maybe a handful of I'm not
- 3:29Speaker 2: going to name them all, but maybe a handful of
- 3:30Speaker 2: quarterbacks in the NFL that can do that. Yeah, and
- 3:33Speaker 2: part of me though, sorry, and maybe it's the defensive
- 3:36Speaker 2: guy in me.
- 3:37Speaker 4: How do you let that happen? You get disconnected?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Holy smokes, what is the one thing you can't do
- 3:41Speaker 2: in that situation? Let people behind you in the second area?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Holy you get sticky. And then it felt like it
- 3:47Speaker 2: was reminiscent of the two point version of Nancy Championship
- 3:50Speaker 2: game against Green Bay or haha, Clinton.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Dix like got his feet kind of stuck in the mud.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Get off the ground.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway that play happens, that would force overtime, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: the Bears you're thinking they're gonna win.
- 4:00Speaker 4: They get a stop.
- 4:01Speaker 2: You think, oh my goodness, the Rams are gonna fall
- 4:03Speaker 2: right here to get the ball back Kile Williams.
- 4:05Speaker 4: And after that he gets down there, they go three
- 4:08Speaker 4: and out.
- 4:09Speaker 2: The Rams they come, they do the rest, They go
- 4:11Speaker 2: martch down, they kick a field goal, they win the
- 4:13Speaker 2: football game.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yeah, the Rams.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Good teams get lucky sometimes too. You feel like they
- 4:17Speaker 3: got lucky right there. Matthew Stafford had himself and all
- 4:19Speaker 3: right day twenty and forty two to two, thy eight,
- 4:22Speaker 3: no touchdowns, no interceptions. Karen Williams had twenty one cars
- 4:25Speaker 3: for eighty seven yards. And two touchdowns. Pooka had five
- 4:27Speaker 3: recevens for fifty six. Caleb on the other side twenty
- 4:31Speaker 3: three for forty two, two fifty seven, two touchdowns and
- 4:33Speaker 3: three interceptions still in the game, and he threw three interceptions.
- 4:37Speaker 4: That was tough.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You got the ball to the mid midfield and you
- 4:39Speaker 2: throw that pick in overtime miscommunication bump, that's on Caleb
- 4:42Speaker 2: or the receiver.
- 4:43Speaker 4: You think both.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Le's yeah, you get you know, remember there's an interception.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Everyone's held responsible. Yeah, unless you just run the completely
- 4:51Speaker 3: wrong route and you know what the heck you doing
- 4:54Speaker 3: out there.
- 4:54Speaker 4: It was.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It was a tough end to their season, but they
- 4:56Speaker 2: had a great year. I mean, Ben Johnson did a
- 4:58Speaker 2: lot in year one, so it'd be interesting to see
- 5:00Speaker 2: what happens. It was not their night that sets up
- 5:02Speaker 2: what we thought was gonna happen the entire time. Seahawks
- 5:05Speaker 2: rams wouldn't have it any other way. Coming to Loomenfield,
- 5:08Speaker 2: Who's quickly lift the head to head matchup bump. You're
- 5:10Speaker 2: facing one of the top defenses, one of the top
- 5:12Speaker 2: offenses in this game. Looking at the Seahawks offensive numbers,
- 5:14Speaker 2: they were eighth in the league regular season in yards.
- 5:17Speaker 2: They were thirteen points per game, eighth and pass tenth
- 5:20Speaker 2: and rushing offense. The Rams offense number one almost cross
- 5:23Speaker 2: the board, one in total offense, seventh in pass offense
- 5:26Speaker 2: one or see me, seventh in rush offense, one in
- 5:28Speaker 2: passing offense, one in points per game.
- 5:30Speaker 4: So we know they can put up points.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah, they can do it, but they're playing against a
- 5:33Speaker 3: tough defense. For sixth overall, third against the run, tenth
- 5:36Speaker 3: against the pass. First when it comes to allowing points,
- 5:38Speaker 3: the Rams seventeenth overall, twelfth against the rum, nineteenth against
- 5:42Speaker 3: the pass, and tenth when it comes to giving up
- 5:43Speaker 3: points twenty points four. The Rams have intersephn sixty sixteen
- 5:49Speaker 3: times and the Seahawks have intercepted the ball eighteen times
- 5:53Speaker 3: when it comes to seas all squared up at forty seven.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a number one offense defense. The last time
- 6:00Speaker 2: this happened in conference championship game the Seahawks and Green
- 6:03Speaker 2: Bay Packers. We know how that one ended, so hopefully
- 6:05Speaker 2: we'll get some of those same fireworks. But these teams
- 6:07Speaker 2: obviously very familiar with each other.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Let's know the history, No, your history.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Seahawks lead all time series twenty nine to twenty eight,
- 6:16Speaker 2: twenty nine to twenty six. In the regular season, Seahawks
- 6:18Speaker 2: are zero to two against the Rams. In the postseason,
- 6:21Speaker 2: Seahawks have won two of the last three meetings. The
- 6:23Speaker 2: last game one of the best all season, one of
- 6:25Speaker 2: the best all season. The Seahawks come out right away
- 6:28Speaker 2: in that first drive, march down the field, thinking, Okay,
- 6:30Speaker 2: this is gonna be a different game. The Rams do
- 6:32Speaker 2: their thing for a while in there, and all those
- 6:33Speaker 2: fast forwards to the end bump. Rams are up big,
- 6:38Speaker 2: They're up thirty to fourteen. Hawks are driving down to
- 6:41Speaker 2: make it a one score game. You think they're gonna
- 6:42Speaker 2: get back in the football game. Sam Darnold intercepted for
- 6:45Speaker 2: the second time ninety eight and fourth quarter.
- 6:47Speaker 4: It looked bad, but the game was over Seahawks defense.
- 6:50Speaker 2: They get a big stop, and you know, we're thinking,
- 6:52Speaker 2: the only way the Seahawks can get back in the
- 6:53Speaker 2: game is if they kicked the Rashiha heat. He does
- 6:55Speaker 2: the rest, He scores a touchdown, gets him back in
- 6:57Speaker 2: the game. Get another stop, Agent Arnor in the end zone,
- 7:01Speaker 2: touchdown boom. Two two point conversions that were crazy. Obviously,
- 7:04Speaker 2: you have the sharburn a one where people forgot all
- 7:06Speaker 2: that happened anyway, Boom, the Seahawks tie up this thing.
- 7:10Speaker 4: The Rams will miss a field goal. Both teams will punt.
- 7:13Speaker 4: You go to overtime. Once you're in overtime, the Rams
- 7:16Speaker 4: they marched down the field. They score right away.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Pookin'akoul, who was killing the Seahawks in that first game,
- 7:20Speaker 2: he did his thing.
- 7:21Speaker 4: They score. The Seahawks get the ball back. For everything
- 7:24Speaker 4: we heard.
- 7:24Speaker 2: About Sam Darnold, what he can and can't do in
- 7:27Speaker 2: big games, people will continue not to give the man
- 7:30Speaker 2: the respect he deserves. We'll give to him right here.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You know you had to go down you had a
- 7:33Speaker 2: score touchdown. You know you had to get go for
- 7:36Speaker 2: two if you do score touchdown, because a tie would
- 7:38Speaker 2: have done nothing.
- 7:39Speaker 4: In that point. The Seahawks needed to pass the Rams
- 7:41Speaker 4: and the standings to get to where they are today.
- 7:43Speaker 4: That's exactly what they did.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Darnold cooks up with Jay Sad and back the end
- 7:47Speaker 2: zone touchdown, then hooks up with Eric Sobert for the
- 7:50Speaker 2: two point conversion to win the football game. Seahawks win
- 7:53Speaker 2: thirty eight to thirty seven. The Seahawks improved to six
- 7:55Speaker 2: and two at home last year. There are three and six,
- 7:58Speaker 2: so you could just start at that moment. Okay, now, yep,
- 8:01Speaker 2: they're here, and quite frankly, the Seahawks have not lost
- 8:04Speaker 2: a game since they lost in the Rams in week eleven,
- 8:06Speaker 2: so things have been rolling since that moment. Round three
- 8:09Speaker 2: is gonna be fun bump. One thing to note, we'll
- 8:11Speaker 2: see if this changes on Sunday. Change Sean McVay three
- 8:15Speaker 2: and zero in the playoffs against NFC West opponents that
- 8:17Speaker 2: included being the Seahawks here at Leominfield. Don't know, I
- 8:20Speaker 2: didn't count, No fans were here, and I can talk
- 8:23Speaker 2: about that game because I still anyway, But it's a
- 8:26Speaker 2: new new time, new year. I'm excited for it. Round three,
- 8:29Speaker 2: let's get it. But quickly we're gonna take a trip
- 8:31Speaker 2: around the NFCUS.
- 8:32Speaker 1: What's the word and the Seahawks or the NFC West
- 8:39Speaker 1: champs again.
- 8:40Speaker 4: What's the word in the West?
- 8:43Speaker 3: On Hawk talk? Honestly, ya already know what the word is.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Seahawks run the division fourteen three Rams, twelve and five.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Nine ers are out last week goodbyepacking bags there were
- 8:52Speaker 3: twelve and five and the Cardinals at the bottom. The
- 8:54Speaker 3: best division of football has one more chapter. But first
- 8:57Speaker 3: a couple of quick notes on how good this division
- 8:59Speaker 3: has been. The forty nine Ers, the Rams, and the
- 9:02Speaker 3: Seahawks were forty seven versus everyone else. This year, the
- 9:05Speaker 3: NFC West joined the twenty twenty two NFC East in
- 9:07Speaker 3: the nineteen ninety seven seven NFL Central.
- 9:10Speaker 4: That's weird.
- 9:11Speaker 3: In the nineteen ninety two NFL East as the only
- 9:13Speaker 3: division with three teams in the divisional round of the
- 9:16Speaker 3: playoffs and in the playoffs, the NFC West has four wins.
- 9:20Speaker 4: The other NFC divisions have one. Now there's two two
- 9:25Speaker 4: to go. Baby.
- 9:26Speaker 3: You already talked about the Rams and the Bears. The
- 9:27Speaker 3: forty nine is the Seahawks. You know how that went down?
- 9:29Speaker 4: Man? Do we need to relive that forty one six?
- 9:32Speaker 4: You know the beat down? Beat down?
- 9:33Speaker 3: The Cardinals have been chilling for a while throughout the house,
- 9:35Speaker 3: so we'll need to talk about them the fastest. What's
- 9:38Speaker 3: the word in the West we've ever done. That means
- 9:40Speaker 3: there's not much to talk about.
- 9:42Speaker 2: There's not much to talk about the forty nine ers
- 9:44Speaker 2: until injury they lose. Alla dank Sall is a great coach.
- 9:46Speaker 2: He spent the time in Seattle, went back to San
- 9:48Speaker 2: Francisco to get things figured out defensively, and he's going
- 9:51Speaker 2: to Tennessee. So we'll see the Cardinals. They still have
- 9:54Speaker 2: a head coach, but they're in a different They're an
- 9:55Speaker 2: offseason mode. We're not an off season We're focused on
- 9:57Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Rams. Man up, Hey, who you got,
- 10:01Speaker 2: Who you got?
- 10:02Speaker 4: You know what time it is?
- 10:02Speaker 1: Man up, man up, brother, Man up man up on
- 10:05Speaker 1: Hawk Talk.
- 10:06Speaker 2: We start we always do, starting with the quarterbacks. Matthew
- 10:09Speaker 2: Stafford probably the league's MVP this year. Bump, I'd be
- 10:12Speaker 2: shocked if someone else wanted looking at the people that
- 10:15Speaker 2: are up for that award. Thirty seventy seven, the best season,
- 10:18Speaker 2: or one of the best seasons of his career been
- 10:20Speaker 2: in the league seventeen seasons in the OG in the game,
- 10:22Speaker 2: but he led the league in passing yards, he led
- 10:24Speaker 2: league and passing touchdowns. He led the league yards per
- 10:26Speaker 2: game second, and past rating first, and touchdown percentage first,
- 10:29Speaker 2: and passing touchdowns. Said an NFL record three straight games
- 10:32Speaker 2: at least four touchdown passes, no interceptions, one or two quarterbacks.
- 10:35Speaker 4: NFL hit blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah, A
- 10:37Speaker 4: lot of it. A lot.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Here's the one that I really take note of the
- 10:41Speaker 2: in terms of the regular season, very deadly against the Blitz.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Stafford through a league h had thirty two touchdowns and
- 10:47Speaker 2: just one interception against the Blitz this season, including twenty
- 10:50Speaker 2: four touchdowns without an interception across fifty three red zone
- 10:54Speaker 2: passes and twice as many his next closest quarterback hit
- 10:57Speaker 2: wins at seventeen and three more than the twenty nine
- 11:00Speaker 2: touchdowns Saffage through against the Blitz across his four seasons.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So four years before this year he only had twenty nine.
- 11:06Speaker 2: So he is doing his thing against the Blitz. It's
- 11:09Speaker 2: kind of one of those things. If you decide to
- 11:10Speaker 2: bring it, you better get home. You better get home,
- 11:12Speaker 2: and you better not blitz from the same side as
- 11:15Speaker 2: pooking a cool and ask the safety to cover it
- 11:17Speaker 2: from seventeen yards death.
- 11:18Speaker 4: That's my opinion, My opinion only.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that's regular season playoffs when he's pressured. Those playoff
- 11:24Speaker 3: numbers are a bit different. Lowis raiding in the NFL
- 11:27Speaker 3: in the playoffs when he is pressured, So what's gonna
- 11:30Speaker 3: be yearn show?
- 11:32Speaker 4: You know? Yeah?
- 11:33Speaker 3: Yeah, But nonetheless, dudes, a baller having himself a great year.
- 11:38Speaker 4: All right, let's talk about our quarterback. Sam Darnold.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Fifth in league in passing, seconding yards per tips, seconding
- 11:43Speaker 3: yards per completion, twenty five touchdowns, fourteen interceptions, tied for
- 11:47Speaker 3: the most wins and consecutive seasons by QBA NFL history,
- 11:50Speaker 3: tied with Tom Brady. He's a Pro Bowl this year.
- 11:52Speaker 3: He has nine game winning drives. You know what, he
- 11:55Speaker 3: hasn't performed the best when you look at the numbers
- 11:57Speaker 3: against these guys. Yeah, first time playing against the Rams,
- 11:59Speaker 3: fo o interceptions, don't need to go there. Second time
- 12:01Speaker 3: playing against the Rams did have two interceptions, but two touchdowns,
- 12:05Speaker 3: two hundred and seventy yards.
- 12:06Speaker 4: The divisional game, did exactly what he needs to do.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Twelve to seventeen, one to twenty four, one touchdowns, zero interceptions,
- 12:11Speaker 3: QB rating of one to ten.
- 12:14Speaker 2: So for me, bump, sign me up for that exact statline,
- 12:17Speaker 2: yep on Sunday, because if that's his statline, that means
- 12:20Speaker 2: ken Walker's got one hundred yards, that means they're they're
- 12:22Speaker 2: winning big. But it's all about Sam. We know what
- 12:26Speaker 2: he can do. We've seen it. I think from a
- 12:28Speaker 2: national perspective, all the conversation is can he do it
- 12:30Speaker 2: in a big game. He's already done it. Every game
- 12:33Speaker 2: he's been playing in since that RAM game has been
- 12:35Speaker 2: a big game. He has been doing it. I think
- 12:37Speaker 2: he's proven it. He has another chance to prove it
- 12:39Speaker 2: on Sunday and really silence some of the haters. I
- 12:41Speaker 2: don't think he can fully silence them until he wins
- 12:43Speaker 2: the Super Bowl. And even when he does that, people
- 12:45Speaker 2: are still gonna hate on him. Sam, we got your back.
- 12:47Speaker 2: We know what you're got, you're capable of got you.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Look at another matchup again in this series here Kyle
- 12:52Speaker 2: Williams against the Seahawks Front seven. He had another good
- 12:55Speaker 2: year in twenty twenty five and for a thousand yards
- 12:57Speaker 2: for third trade season. Looking at the matchups against the Seahawks, specifically,
- 13:00Speaker 2: Week eleven, he had twelve carries for ninety one yards
- 13:03Speaker 2: and a touchdown. Week sixteen he had twenty three carries
- 13:06Speaker 2: for seventy yards and just three yards per carry. I
- 13:08Speaker 2: remember bumping that Week eleven matchup. We were concerned that
- 13:12Speaker 2: one hundred yards streak was gonna be in jeopardy because
- 13:14Speaker 2: he had a couple of big runs and again a
- 13:15Speaker 2: thirty four yard run in that first half was completely
- 13:17Speaker 2: shut down.
- 13:18Speaker 4: In the second half.
- 13:19Speaker 2: In wildcard game against the Panthers, he was thirteen carries
- 13:22Speaker 2: fifty seven yards. He had eighteen yards and a touchdown receiving,
- 13:25Speaker 2: and then Divisional twenty one carries eighty seven yards two touchdowns.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Now he's doing his thing. I think he's someone who's
- 13:32Speaker 2: good in pass protection. Blake Corms another running back who's there.
- 13:35Speaker 2: This is what the Seahawks do. Though they stopped the run,
- 13:38Speaker 2: they're gonna have a test on Sunday. And even last
- 13:41Speaker 2: time they played, when they rams had all those yards,
- 13:44Speaker 2: they weren't able to run the football. This is really
- 13:46Speaker 2: clutch and the standpoint of Matthew Savage good enough as
- 13:49Speaker 2: it is, he can't have a two way go. He
- 13:50Speaker 2: can't have the running game popping off while he's throwing
- 13:52Speaker 2: the ball over the yard. So interesting matchup there, but
- 13:54Speaker 2: I advantaged Seahawks in my opinion. Yep, no hundred percent
- 13:57Speaker 2: agree Hundbercent. Here's the tough matchup. I think the toughest.
- 14:00Speaker 3: One of the Knight's gonna be Pooka Nicole and Davante
- 14:03Speaker 3: Adams against our second dary. Look, this is probably the
- 14:07Speaker 3: best duo that these guys have faced all year.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Pooka has been doing this thing in his career.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Yes, three out of thirteen receptions four and ninety one
- 14:17Speaker 3: yards in nineteen touchdowns this year, one hundred and twenty
- 14:20Speaker 3: nine receptions seventeen hundred and fifteen yards in ten touchdowns,
- 14:23Speaker 3: first and receptions first and yards per game first in
- 14:26Speaker 3: the NFL when it comes to first downs, second in
- 14:29Speaker 3: yards type for six when it comes to touchdowns. Look,
- 14:31Speaker 3: he's All Pro unanimous selection, received fifty out of fifty
- 14:35Speaker 3: first place votes.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Nicole is the second.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Is Nicole a second time in three NFL seasons earning
- 14:41Speaker 3: All Pro honors. He's a beast man. The first time
- 14:43Speaker 3: we saw him seven receptions seventy five yards. Second time,
- 14:45Speaker 3: Whoa twelve receptions, two twenty five and two touchdowns. Wild
- 14:49Speaker 3: card game he had ten for a buck eleven a touchdown.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Last game five receptions for fifty six yards. And DeVante,
- 14:55Speaker 3: I mean, we don't even talk about who he is.
- 14:57Speaker 3: You hear his name, and you've been watching football for
- 14:59Speaker 3: the five to ten years, you know who he is.
- 15:02Speaker 3: One of the best in the game. He let the
- 15:04Speaker 3: NFL in touchdowns with fourteen and twenty twenty five.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And he missed some games.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Sixty receptions, seven hundred and eighty nine yards, fourteen touchdowns.
- 15:12Speaker 3: The first time he played in one receptions for one
- 15:13Speaker 3: yards in a touchdown. Second time we played them, he
- 15:16Speaker 3: did not play wild card. He had five for seventy two.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Divisionally had two for twenty four. He became an eighteen
- 15:21Speaker 3: player NFL history to surpass a thousand career postseason receiving yards.
- 15:27Speaker 3: This guy is more a threatening the red zone to
- 15:29Speaker 3: me and the like third and short, short yard of stuff.
- 15:32Speaker 3: He can't get by you if you buy it on
- 15:33Speaker 3: a double move. But they have their de threatned puka
- 15:37Speaker 3: that have their underneath and Devanta Adams good combo.
- 15:40Speaker 2: He'll routch you up. He will definitely wrap you up
- 15:42Speaker 2: in that tight space. Davante. We know what he can
- 15:44Speaker 2: do and up he's zero to four if I if
- 15:46Speaker 2: I have this right. In NSC Championship game one of those,
- 15:50Speaker 2: he was playing in that Green Bay game. I was
- 15:52Speaker 2: up in Seattle last time. So he's hungry, right, He's
- 15:54Speaker 2: been playing a long time. What's missing in his resume
- 15:57Speaker 2: at the Hall of Fame resume it's a Super Bowl ring.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Hopefully sell to prevent him. There. Let me just back
- 16:01Speaker 4: it up real quick, ken Walker.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I'll let you talk about our receivers in the second
- 16:04Speaker 2: year ken Walker, in this Rams defense, this is really
- 16:07Speaker 2: as big as that matchup is defensively for the Seahawks.
- 16:10Speaker 4: On offense, the Seahawks, this is huge.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Ken Walker has been killing the game this year, and
- 16:15Speaker 2: specifically the last couple of weeks he went over a
- 16:17Speaker 2: thousand yards. We know that the Seahawks is a team
- 16:19Speaker 2: rushed for one hundred and six yards and four straight
- 16:21Speaker 2: games Week eleven against the Rams.
- 16:23Speaker 4: He's played well against this team.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Week eleven sixteen carries sixty seven yards in a touchdown,
- 16:27Speaker 2: three exceptions for forty four yards. Week sixteen eleven carries
- 16:31Speaker 2: one hundred yards one touchdown. He had a fifty five
- 16:33Speaker 2: yard score. Also is dangerous in the screen game. Had
- 16:35Speaker 2: a huge screen pass that set up that first touchdown.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Three exceptions sixty four yards. And now we know Zach
- 16:40Speaker 2: Sharbney has done for the season with that knee injury.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Walker is going to shoulder most of the load this week.
- 16:45Speaker 2: But what I love about it is, Hey, you hit
- 16:48Speaker 2: your stride at the right time. You're playing your best
- 16:50Speaker 2: football at the best time of the year because these
- 16:52Speaker 2: two split carries so much this year. I feel like
- 16:54Speaker 2: Walker is as healthy as he can be going into
- 16:56Speaker 2: this game. I think that helps George Lawney was activated
- 16:59Speaker 2: from the IR so he's something that could help him.
- 17:02Speaker 2: That vilis joones to someone who's called it from the
- 17:03Speaker 2: practice squad, So I think they have enough running back wise,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and don't let everyone fool you. Zach Charbonnay is a
- 17:09Speaker 2: great pass protecting running back us he is, but it's
- 17:12Speaker 2: not like ken Walker has never been out there before.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that kills me. That kills me. Who back like
- 17:16Speaker 4: he just don't know what to do back there.
- 17:18Speaker 2: It's something gets said and it gets repeated, and it's
- 17:21Speaker 2: that's the narrative, that's verbatim. Yeah, would you give the
- 17:24Speaker 2: edge maybe the Charbonne between the two, Sure, but ken
- 17:27Speaker 2: Walker is more than capable and he will continue to
- 17:30Speaker 2: show that. And honestly, the only time it'd be a
- 17:32Speaker 2: huge issue for anything Bump is if the Seahawks are
- 17:35Speaker 2: in third and tens all day long. Not be an
- 17:37Speaker 2: issue for anyone, any running back in that case. So anyway,
- 17:39Speaker 2: that's a huge matchup for me. If if ken Walker can
- 17:41Speaker 2: do his thing. Continue to do that, that'll be huge
- 17:43Speaker 2: for the Seahawks offense.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he should get about five, six or seven more
- 17:46Speaker 3: carries just because Sharbonnat being now, I do expect him
- 17:49Speaker 3: to sprinkle in some Hallani. All right, let's talk about
- 17:51Speaker 3: these receivers, Jaysn, Cooper Cup in Rashid Shahi JSN Man.
- 17:55Speaker 4: He's the best in the game.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Led the league with seventeen hundred and ninety three yards,
- 17:58Speaker 3: first when it comes to yards per touch, second in
- 18:01Speaker 3: yards per game, fourth in NFL with one hundred and
- 18:03Speaker 3: nineteen receptions, tied for six in NFL with ten touchdowns,
- 18:07Speaker 3: ninth in yards per reception, and a time for the
- 18:09Speaker 3: league with exposive plays. He has twenty seven plays for
- 18:12Speaker 3: twenty yards or more. Talk about this past game not
- 18:15Speaker 3: being explosive. Best season four receiver in see history.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Man.
- 18:18Speaker 3: He has thirteen ninety yard games, the most NFL in
- 18:22Speaker 3: NFL history by a guy twenty three years or younger.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Pro Bowl selection, First Team unanimous fifty out of fifty votes.
- 18:29Speaker 3: There's a bunch of other so we can say about him,
- 18:31Speaker 3: but best in the game and he and his he's
- 18:33Speaker 3: teamed up with Cooper Cup, probably the best role playing
- 18:37Speaker 3: receiver in the game right now. Best blocking receiver in
- 18:40Speaker 3: the games for sure. He's got forty seven receptions for
- 18:42Speaker 3: five to ninety three two touchdowns in two games against
- 18:46Speaker 3: the Rams, he has six receptions in over over sixty yards,
- 18:48Speaker 3: but it's more about his impact getting guys open and blocking.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Divisional game, he had five receptions for sixty yards. He
- 18:56Speaker 3: was the leading receiver there.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean you look at all of them
- 18:59Speaker 2: and look at their action JSN against these Rams nine
- 19:02Speaker 2: reception one five eight receptions, ninety six in a touchdown.
- 19:05Speaker 2: He's been productive.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yep.
- 19:06Speaker 2: They know what that can happen there, and these guys
- 19:08Speaker 2: have done it. And then Rashid Shaheed, which I love
- 19:10Speaker 2: what we're seeing from him. He is making away. We
- 19:13Speaker 2: still haven't seen that huge reception. I'm waiting to see that.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Let's come that big play in the past game. Almost
- 19:17Speaker 2: had it that first time down in LA But obviously
- 19:20Speaker 2: we know what he did last time. He blew up
- 19:22Speaker 2: the Rams special teams unit after what he did there,
- 19:25Speaker 2: So he's been making play. So all these they just
- 19:27Speaker 2: got to challenge these dbs bump. They can't let him
- 19:29Speaker 2: jump all the short stuff. They can't let him be
- 19:31Speaker 2: in all these stick routes and need to beat him
- 19:32Speaker 2: over the top up they've done for a lot of
- 19:34Speaker 2: this year, so looking to see that. And then we're
- 19:37Speaker 2: looking at these these guys on the front front seven
- 19:40Speaker 2: Jared Vers, Byron Young, Kobe Turner. There are some dogs.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Let's be straight up. This is another really key matchup
- 19:46Speaker 2: for the Seahawks offensive line. Jared Vers had a great
- 19:49Speaker 2: year fifty eight tackles, seven and a half sacks, eleven TfL,
- 19:51Speaker 2: twenty QB hit three four s fumbles, made the Pro
- 19:53Speaker 2: Bow for the second straight year. In the games against
- 19:55Speaker 2: Seattle the regular season, seven tackles, half a sack, pass,
- 19:58Speaker 2: defend a couple QB hits. He played really well last week.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Three tackles, two TFLs, two QB hits. Byron Young, Okay,
- 20:05Speaker 2: he is another guy that just had the best season
- 20:08Speaker 2: of his career. Twelve sacks, sided for eighth in the
- 20:09Speaker 2: NFL against the Seahawks. Ten tackles, two QB hits across
- 20:13Speaker 2: a couple of games. Solid in the Divisional. Kobe Turner,
- 20:17Speaker 2: though bump he bawled out against the last game after
- 20:21Speaker 2: having just one tackle in Week eleven. He had three tackles,
- 20:24Speaker 2: one and a half sacks, one TfL, two pass defended,
- 20:26Speaker 2: two QB hits in one interception. In Week sixteen, he
- 20:30Speaker 2: was a problem. He was a problem, and I think
- 20:31Speaker 2: I've we've heard Gray's abel talk a little bit about it. He,
- 20:34Speaker 2: I think, being a little hard on himself, said he
- 20:36Speaker 2: had those two worst games of the year against the
- 20:38Speaker 2: Los Angeles Rams, and Turner was one of them that
- 20:40Speaker 2: was given him fits a little bit. So I'm really
- 20:42Speaker 2: interested to watch seventy six in him link up this
- 20:44Speaker 2: week because we know what Gray's been able to do
- 20:46Speaker 2: this year. But but these guys can wreck the game
- 20:49Speaker 2: if you allow it. So I'm really interested to see
- 20:50Speaker 2: how the Seahawks can limit the pressures that they will
- 20:53Speaker 2: be able to create.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yeah, they they all got big pressure potential. Man, they
- 20:57Speaker 3: can hme back the game outside the scorebox. Pressures are
- 21:00Speaker 3: are the hitting stats, right. You got to wait for
- 21:03Speaker 3: these other entities to kind of give you the pressure
- 21:05Speaker 3: numbers for you to really understand the impact that these
- 21:07Speaker 3: guys have had. Quarterback hits man the most through four postseasons,
- 21:11Speaker 3: Verse has seven, Kobe Turner has four or excuse me six,
- 21:16Speaker 3: Argus Jones has five. Aaron Donald had five back in
- 21:19Speaker 3: his day and that Kevin Green had four. Like it's uh,
- 21:22Speaker 3: these two defensive lines are gonna be fun to watch.
- 21:24Speaker 4: It is going to be a battle.
- 21:25Speaker 3: This is a game where I tell folks, look, don't
- 21:27Speaker 3: follow the ball, every singer and look at the big
- 21:30Speaker 3: boys in the trenches and see who's winning the line
- 21:31Speaker 3: of scrimmage.
- 21:32Speaker 2: That's one of my favorite things to get to do
- 21:34Speaker 2: from the radio booth when you're looking down on the
- 21:36Speaker 2: field is I'll just look at it serious and I'll.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Just lock it on one of them. What are they
- 21:40Speaker 4: doing today? Right?
- 21:40Speaker 2: And then sometimes it pops off and with the Seahawks defense,
- 21:44Speaker 2: that's a fun activity because whether it's Jay Reed, Leonard Williams, Chenna,
- 21:48Speaker 2: whoever you name it, they're probably making plays.
- 21:51Speaker 4: The biggest game at lumin Field in a long time.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Path of victory, We're gonna tell you how the Seahawks
- 21:56Speaker 2: get it done.
- 21:58Speaker 4: After forty five staff Michael Dixon puts it down. That
- 22:02Speaker 4: kick is away. If that kick is gone, to say
- 22:06Speaker 4: on Gwen, it's gun.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It's a path to victory on Hawk Talk.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Why you play right here for games like this? When
- 22:14Speaker 2: I think about an NFL offseason. A lot of people
- 22:17Speaker 2: think about training camp. It's all year round. That's what
- 22:19Speaker 2: the NFL is. Some say not for long, it's for
- 22:21Speaker 2: all the time. The off season were the sprints, the squats,
- 22:25Speaker 2: the routes, the recovery, the coltsubs, the meeting, the film room.
- 22:28Speaker 2: This is all that stuff right there for championship Sunday.
- 22:31Speaker 2: The Seahawks got that opportunity. They've earned the right decisive, relentless, shocking.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Coach McDonald's talking about that all year. They are loose,
- 22:38Speaker 2: they are focused. If you have watched the hype video
- 22:39Speaker 2: that's out on all the SEAX channels, Instagram, x YouTube,
- 22:45Speaker 2: I'm hyped, fired up right now.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I've watched that.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Probably one hundred thousand times. Just because McDonald's inconsistent. He said, hey,
- 22:52Speaker 2: let me take you back. This is where you're going
- 22:54Speaker 2: to be. That was April fourth, twenty twenty four, long
- 22:56Speaker 2: before anyone predicted any of this. He's had a consistent
- 22:59Speaker 2: message from the jump. He's had a locker room fit.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Seventy not fifty three that have been bought in all
- 23:04Speaker 2: this year. I'm excited about. They need to get after it.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Let's get it.
- 23:07Speaker 4: You gotta start fast, get things going.
- 23:10Speaker 3: If they decide to kick to Rashid Shaheed, go ahead
- 23:12Speaker 3: and take it to the house. But if you look
- 23:13Speaker 3: at the numbers, I think the Rams usually kicking to
- 23:15Speaker 3: the end zone and say start on the thirty five.
- 23:16Speaker 3: But if you slip up, if you slip up, twenty
- 23:19Speaker 3: two is going to get you. And you got to
- 23:20Speaker 3: contain Stafford and Pooka in the corps. They can't go
- 23:23Speaker 3: crazy like they did Week sixteam. They're gonna make plays,
- 23:26Speaker 3: we get that, but you can't have Stafford throwing for
- 23:28Speaker 3: four and a fifty plus and pook It going for
- 23:29Speaker 3: TowIt to twenty five. You gotta put some pressure on
- 23:32Speaker 3: these dudes. And like I said, Stafford has not done
- 23:34Speaker 3: well with pressure in the playoffs. So Leo Murphy Law,
- 23:38Speaker 3: Chimna deal, Jay Reed, come on, get out for him.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really interesting how that number flips. And if
- 23:43Speaker 2: the Seahawks and take advantage of that and then take
- 23:44Speaker 2: the ball away in the secondary, that's something you haven't
- 23:46Speaker 2: been able to do against Stafford. Zero turnovers in the
- 23:48Speaker 2: last two games against the Seahawks on nine and nineteen games.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Obviously easier said than done, but I think you make
- 23:54Speaker 2: a big play in the secondary.
- 23:56Speaker 4: You have a really good chance of winning this game.
- 23:57Speaker 2: And offensively protect the football all on fourteen and he's
- 24:02Speaker 2: ready for that moment. You know what I'm saying. I
- 24:03Speaker 2: think all the haters every wants to talk. I know
- 24:07Speaker 2: they don't hear that stuff downstairs, but just for me personally, Bump,
- 24:10Speaker 2: if we could see fourteen ball out on that stage,
- 24:14Speaker 2: I'm envisioning him trying to hold that George Hollis Trophy
- 24:17Speaker 2: and just letting everybody know like this is what it's
- 24:19Speaker 2: always been. So I'm rooting for that. For Sam, all
- 24:21Speaker 2: eyes are gonna be on him.
- 24:22Speaker 3: He needs to play well and I think he's going
- 24:23Speaker 3: to yep, and he plays well if you protect him.
- 24:25Speaker 3: So make sure you do that and feed ken Walker. Man,
- 24:29Speaker 3: he needs twenty to twenty five carries. Mix it up
- 24:32Speaker 3: in the screen game, keep him. Guess you got McVeigh
- 24:34Speaker 3: against McDonald one more time.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I wouldn't won it in any other way, not at all.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I mean, this is the best matchup you're going to again.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I'm really intrigued. Also, McVeigh McDonald, they're the geniuses of
- 24:46Speaker 2: their profession offense, defense leading men. Mcveigh's an amazing coach.
- 24:50Speaker 2: The Rams have a great team. The Seahawks have an amazing coaching,
- 24:52Speaker 2: a great team. It's gonna be a battle, and it's
- 24:54Speaker 2: a championship game at Loominfield this Sunday. The pregame show
- 24:57Speaker 2: gets kicked off at noon. Lots of coverage. It's gonna
- 25:01Speaker 2: be real fun. He's Michael Bumpas on NASA Chrobe. Hopefully
- 25:03Speaker 2: we'll be talking about the Super Bowl coming up, NFC
- 25:06Speaker 2: Championship this weekend.
- 25:08Speaker 4: This has been Hawk Talk
