- 0:02We are conscious and aware of forces and energies that operate
- 0:06within a certain specified range.
- 0:09Anything that falls outside that range whether above or below
- 0:15remains unseen and unknown to us?
- 0:18Even if the forces operative in those Superior, or inferior,
- 0:23ranges impact, our thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and life
- 0:29Energies. We recognize that many
- 0:32operations of our lives. Our internal organs are
- 0:37basically self-regulating without conscious control or
- 0:41intervention by our self aware mental Consciousness.
- 0:45We do not for instance, regulate consciously, the oxygen uptake
- 0:50into the blood or its dissemination into the cells of
- 0:54the body. Nor do we regulate consciously,
- 0:58the energy production functions of the cells Beyond these
- 1:03organic functions. However, there are also levels
- 1:06of consciousness that store up Impressions and encapsulate
- 1:11reactions without conscious mental control.
- 1:15Either various stimuli can then trigger responses from these
- 1:20levels that may surprise us with their suddenness and intensity
- 1:26Sometimes these subconscious elements arise in the state of
- 1:29dreaming, and we can get a brief view into what is hidden in
- 1:33those layers of our being for the most part.
- 1:37However, they remain obscure and impact us without are
- 1:42consciously. Being aware of what is there and
- 1:45what they are actually able to effectuate in our lives and
- 1:49reactions. We tend to also believe that
- 1:53there is no consciousness in matter.
- 1:56Yet the only way for Consciousness to appear out of
- 1:59matter, is for it to evolve, they're from.
- 2:03And thus, we can understand that Consciousness is encoded
- 2:08involved in material nature, just as the tree is encoded in
- 2:13the purely material seed from which it develops.
- 2:18Dr. Dalal writes quote, the subconscious in is what is below
- 2:23the mind and conscious life. Just as the subliminal is what
- 2:28is behind the outer Consciousness.
- 2:32Whereas the subliminal is an inner and larger Consciousness
- 2:35compared to the surface Consciousness, the subconscious
- 2:40is a Nether and inferior diminished consciousness.
- 2:44SRI aurobindo observes quote, the sub-continent covers, the
- 2:49purely physical and vital elements of our constitution, of
- 2:53bodily being unmeant alized, unobserved by the Mind
- 2:58uncontrolled by it, in their action.
- 3:01It can be held to include the dumb occult Consciousness
- 3:05Dynamic, but not sent by us, which operates in the cells and
- 3:11nerves and all the Boreal stuff and adjust their life process
- 3:18and automatic responses. It covers also.
- 3:22Those lowest functionings of submerged since mind, which are
- 3:26more operative in the animal and plant life. in our Evolution, we
- 3:32have over past the need of any large organized action of this
- 3:35element but it remains submerged and obscure Lee at work below,
- 3:41our conscious nature this obscure activity extends to a
- 3:46hidden and hooded mental substratum into which past
- 3:51Impressions and all that is rejected from the surface mind
- 3:55sink and remain there dormant and can surge up in sleep or in
- 4:01any absence of the mind, taking dream forms forms of mechanical,
- 4:07mind action or suggestion forms of automatic vital reaction or
- 4:11impulse forms of physical, abnormality, or nervous,
- 4:16perturbance forms of morbidity, disease, unbalanced, Out of the
- 4:23subconscious. We bring ordinarily so much to
- 4:26the surface as our waking since mind, and intelligence need for
- 4:31their purpose in. So bringing them up, we are not
- 4:35aware of their nature origin, operation and do not apprehend
- 4:41them in their own values, but by a translation into the values of
- 4:46our, waking human sense and intelligence, but the risings of
- 4:50the subconscious, it's a Effects upon the mind and body are
- 4:55mostly automatic uncalled for and involuntary.
- 5:01For we have no knowledge and therefore no control of the sub
- 5:05content. Dr. Dalal continues, quote below
- 5:11the subconscient is the incontinent, the nethermost
- 5:15plane of Consciousness. It is not really devoid of
- 5:19Consciousness as the term might imply, but a level of
- 5:23Consciousness, which represents a total involution of
- 5:26Consciousness, the inverse reproduction of the Supreme
- 5:30super conscience as SRI aurobindo describes it.
