- 1:14Speaker 2: Wist Stuck and they are wearing whist So, yeah, it's
- 1:18Speaker 2: too bad, but what did you expect. It's a podcast
- 1:22Speaker 2: called twenty five Whistles.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Whine Whin, I blow the whistle. So I'll start with this.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Eddie has broken arm, which we've talked about. He gets
- 1:32Speaker 1: sadder as the show goes because we're, ok, yeah, we're
- 1:37Speaker 1: basically afternoon now, and Eddie's starting to get kind of
- 1:40Speaker 1: saddened down. And I heard someone say what's up, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: he goes, my percocet's wearing off.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah, the pain pills is starting to come down, man,
- 1:48Speaker 3: and it hurts. It's it's like, uh, like all morning
- 1:51Speaker 3: it feels, you know, like like something's not right, but
- 1:54Speaker 3: it doesn't hurt. And then when it starts wearing down,
- 1:57Speaker 3: like you start feeling a little pulsating around.
- 2:00Speaker 1: My throbbing in the arm.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Then you realize, like, man, it's time for another dose.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Do you have the doses with you?
- 2:06Speaker 3: I'm down, they're at home.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Are you driving yourself? In? No, I got I got driving.
- 2:12Speaker 3: What's the mainly mainly because I drive a stick.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Because you're on percocet.
- 2:18Speaker 3: No, If that's the case, I would just skip out
- 2:20Speaker 3: and then take it while I'm here and then it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: How many can you take a day? Every six hours?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Do you look forward to that? Yeah?
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean this is the stuff that people get
- 2:32Speaker 3: like hooked on, right for sure. I mean, but it
- 2:36Speaker 3: doesn't make me feel like, yeah, I want to party.
- 2:39Speaker 3: It makes me feel like I just want to go
- 2:40Speaker 3: to bed and like just chill.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But I just chill. Is a feeling that people chase.
- 2:46Speaker 1: That's smoking weed, right. I never smoke weed, but I'm
- 2:48Speaker 1: assuming you smoke weed. You're just like, hey, i's want
- 2:49Speaker 1: a chill. I don't think it makes you want to party.
- 2:51Speaker 3: But then afterwards you feel all groggy and moody.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I had to take percocet dry sockets in my mouth
- 2:59Speaker 1: once ihead. My boys don't be taken out miserable, like
- 3:02Speaker 1: three months of just his torture, and I had to
- 3:05Speaker 1: take per except for that. And I liked him so
- 3:07Speaker 1: much that it's at one point I dumped it on
- 3:10Speaker 1: the toilet because I liked him so much. I feel
- 3:12Speaker 1: that did that was Yeah, it was Breed calling to
- 3:17Speaker 1: cancel his draft kings. He was winning so much. It's responsible, Yeah, exactly,
- 3:21Speaker 1: irresponsible gambler. Well, we're rooting for you, buddy.
- 3:25Speaker 3: But then did you also hear read like, hey, you
- 3:26Speaker 3: got any extras?
- 3:28Speaker 1: I did not want to come on. I did not
- 3:30Speaker 1: hear him to say that. A couple of things. As
- 3:33Speaker 1: we start the show, I'm seeing more and more rumors
- 3:38Speaker 1: about the NFL taking the fourth or the on side
- 3:41Speaker 1: kick and making it basically a fourth and twenty. We
- 3:43Speaker 1: saw the onside kick last week too. I think that's
- 3:45Speaker 1: a great idea, Like you want the ball back convert
- 3:48Speaker 1: a fourth and twenty. At least there is an opportunity there.
- 3:52Speaker 1: They said, they said.
- 3:53Speaker 3: It was what a good opportunity.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I would say good. I would say more than five percent,
- 3:57Speaker 1: but I wouldn't say one and four. I say, les,
- 3:59Speaker 1: there's twenty five percent.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Because like, what's the percentage on an on side kick
- 4:02Speaker 3: the way it is now?
- 4:02Speaker 1: So they said five percent this season, that's nothing and
- 4:05Speaker 1: I felt like that was hot.
- 4:06Speaker 4: I was going to say that seems.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that was because I never see them recover. I'm
- 4:11Speaker 1: sure they do in games that I missed, but if
- 4:13Speaker 1: you see an on its like kick recovery, that's amazing.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I was like a Dodo bird, like a rare Dodo
- 4:19Speaker 1: you see running down the road. I like that. And
- 4:21Speaker 1: I think that's an XFL ish type rule. And the
- 4:25Speaker 1: kickoff rule that they had changed this year, it has
- 4:28Speaker 1: changed me in no way whatsoever. I don't hate it.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I don't love it. It's how I felt about the
- 4:33Speaker 1: kickoff and they can on lyast say, look, we're doing
- 4:35Speaker 1: things to keep people from getting concussions. Right, it's not
- 4:37Speaker 1: a stupid rule they've put in, but also it's not
- 4:41Speaker 1: made the game like way more fun. But I think
- 4:43Speaker 1: the benefit of that kickoff rule is the NFL can
- 4:46Speaker 1: go look at what we're doing to prevent forest fires
- 4:49Speaker 1: and concussions.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Smoky.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yes.
- 4:51Speaker 3: And the fourth and twenty is where where you would
- 4:54Speaker 3: normally kick the ball off.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It doesn't matter because I don't know that you get
- 4:57Speaker 1: the ball at that spot, so I don't know. The
- 5:00Speaker 1: role is not there. It very very well could be.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But my point is, I don't know that it's that
- 5:04Speaker 1: spot because if you throw a touchdown or you get
- 5:06Speaker 1: to the five yard line, you get to keep it
- 5:07Speaker 1: at the five. Probably not they got to tweak that.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I would think that it just goes back to some
- 5:12Speaker 1: normal midfield fish type line because that's where an onside
- 5:16Speaker 1: kick would be recovered. Yeah, so that's the first thing
- 5:18Speaker 1: I read. I think that would be a great move.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So second thing, the Cowboys coach maybe shot in hybrid.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Dude, I know what's stupid?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Really?
- 5:30Speaker 3: I saw that too, and I'm like, it's not sexy.
- 5:33Speaker 3: It's not exciting.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Sexy's not always exciting, and it's sexy's not always great sexy.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I don't know why it's that sexy, but you know
- 5:41Speaker 3: what I mean, it's not very like Dion, Like I
- 5:46Speaker 3: guess that would be considered sexy because it's out like
- 5:49Speaker 3: a pick. That'd be like, whoa, what are you serious?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Dion prime time is gonna be the coach of the
- 5:53Speaker 3: Dallas Cowboys, but Shottenheimer and Brian is that name?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's the now he's the OC now.
- 5:59Speaker 3: But he didn't even call plays.
- 6:01Speaker 1: That part's kind of weird.
- 6:03Speaker 3: McCarthy called all the plays by waffle house menu.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And I would think that it would be weird, weird
- 6:07Speaker 1: that the OC that gets the head coaching job wasn't
- 6:10Speaker 1: the play caller, except for that McCarthy is a really
- 6:13Speaker 1: great play caller, like that's what he's known for. And also,
- 6:16Speaker 1: if you're the OC under somebody who's really great at
- 6:18Speaker 1: what they do, I'm sure that you're picking up some
- 6:20Speaker 1: stuff too, Not that he needed it, but if they
- 6:23Speaker 1: came today and they may say this, we record this
- 6:25Speaker 1: at Thursday afternoon and then it loads at midnight on Friday,
- 6:30Speaker 1: but let's say tonight or Friday. Schottenheimer's a coach. Your thoughts.
- 6:37Speaker 3: In other waste of season?
- 6:38Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I don't think Brian. I mean, Brian's already been there, right,
- 6:41Speaker 3: So I don't think it's going to change anything. I
- 6:42Speaker 3: don't think you're going to be looking at a whole
- 6:44Speaker 3: different Dallas Cowboys team. I think it's just going to
- 6:47Speaker 3: remain the same thing. We're just going to kill another
- 6:48Speaker 3: year of football. And and I don't like it.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Would be more than a season though, mean, if he's
- 6:54Speaker 1: the head coach.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Four yeah, okay, four seasons lost, that's a whole presidential term.
- 7:00Speaker 3: It is, what do you think?
- 7:04Speaker 1: I think when things are really I'll use your word
- 7:07Speaker 1: sexy and exciting, Usually that's just short term fun and
- 7:13Speaker 1: not long term greatness. So I'm not saying that Brian
- 7:17Speaker 1: Schottenheimer is the answer. But sometimes those hires where you're
- 7:23Speaker 1: like who what when? Like it's really smart people making
- 7:26Speaker 1: those decisions. I'm not. Maybe Jerry's allowing other people to
- 7:30Speaker 1: come in and help him with this. I don't hate
- 7:34Speaker 1: it because it's so take your lunch pail to work. Yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 1: decision that A lot of times those work out. I
- 7:46Speaker 1: don't see this being a disaster. If he's the coach,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I think the floor is higher, But I don't know
- 7:53Speaker 1: where the ceiling is with him at all.
- 7:55Speaker 3: I just feel like if Brian was the dude, they
- 7:57Speaker 3: would have made him the OC and he would have
- 8:00Speaker 3: had FaceTime. I mean, I forgot that Brian Schottenheimer was
- 8:04Speaker 3: the OC. Honestly, I forgot to look like I just
- 8:07Speaker 3: looked them up.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I think again, if it's almost any coach other than
- 8:13Speaker 1: than McCartney, he's calling plays, So I wouldn't take that
- 8:17Speaker 1: as man. He must not be that good because you
- 8:21Speaker 1: had one of the greatest play callers offensive NFL minds
- 8:25Speaker 1: calling plays. So listen, if I were a Cowboys fan,
- 8:29Speaker 1: I would want something exciting and.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yeah, even like when you said Cliff Kingsbury, that's cool,
- 8:34Speaker 3: that would be that's kind of sexy. It's pretty sexy.
- 8:36Speaker 3: And he's kind of sexy. Okay, like the ladies like him.
- 8:42Speaker 3: If for sexy, Oh yeah, I know somebody who looked
- 8:44Speaker 3: up with him for a while.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I can't tell you. I can't tell you that's a
- 8:47Speaker 1: bond dude, and I can't. I can't. I can't tell
- 8:49Speaker 1: you it's been a while. It's been a while, so nothing.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I don't know what his personal life has now been,
- 8:54Speaker 1: Mary with kids, don't have spent a long time. I
- 8:57Speaker 1: can tell you out there so Sexydon one very sexy,
- 9:03Speaker 1: Cliff two. Cliff two is very sexy. Who's the three?
- 9:08Speaker 3: I mean not in the traditional sexy way, but I
- 9:11Speaker 3: think the third sexiest coach for the Dallas Cowboys could
- 9:16Speaker 3: be Riverboat Ron.
- 9:18Speaker 1: No, I don't think he's sexy. I think he is
- 9:21Speaker 1: somebody you bring in to plug a hole, to create
- 9:25Speaker 1: some stability.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Have they talked to Romo about what coming back?
- 9:31Speaker 2: Because that'd be awesome.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I don't know if they've talked to.
- 9:36Speaker 3: That's sexy.
- 9:37Speaker 1: We've talked about three. He's still coaching right now. I
- 9:40Speaker 1: feel like he'd be on your list. He's still coaching
- 9:42Speaker 1: right now, offensive coordinator Moore. Who would you rather have,
- 9:47Speaker 1: Kellen Moore or Brian Cornelia Schottenheimer. Yeah, that's legit.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I guess I'd have Kellen Moore. I feel like I
- 9:56Speaker 3: know more of his work.
- 9:57Speaker 1: But I think that's why, And that's the answer, right,
- 10:00Speaker 1: That's why you want him because you know more about him.
- 10:02Speaker 1: It doesn't mean that you know or you feel like
- 10:04Speaker 1: he's actually better based on so Yeah, it's a lunch.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Pal higher if he does what a mess?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Uh so? Brian Schottenheimer, Oh, see for the Seahawks, the Jets,
- 10:13Speaker 1: the Rams, University of Georgia. Was an assistant coach with
- 10:16Speaker 1: the Redskins, Chargers, Colts, and Jaguars. His dad is fifty
- 10:20Speaker 1: one years old.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Marty Marty. Yeah, Marty was the coach of Franco where
- 10:26Speaker 3: the San Diego Chargers.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Oh Chargers, they always like fell short every season. Yeah
- 10:31Speaker 4: that's good.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That's kind of where Chargering came from.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah, that's really good.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Well, good luck to you, my friend.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you man. We'll wait and see hopefully if
- 10:40Speaker 3: some of those sexies come in.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I hope people watch a little bit of Cheaps of
- 10:43Speaker 1: Holly because it's interesting and the chiefs are still in
- 10:46Speaker 1: it and it's the guy that robbed the banks. What
- 10:48Speaker 1: about the Aaron Rodgers documentary?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yeah, man, that keeps popping up like every time, you know,
- 10:53Speaker 3: like you hover over the thumbnail and then they so
- 10:55Speaker 3: they showed a little clip or whatever, and I watched
- 10:57Speaker 3: it today and look at my wife, I'm like, should
- 10:59Speaker 3: we watch this? And she was like, that's kind of
- 11:01Speaker 3: interesting because she knows Jordan Rodgers and she knows him
- 11:05Speaker 3: she I mean from The Bachelor.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Okay, well that's knows of Jordan Rodgers.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 3: No, my wife doesn't know Jordan Rodgers.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Well that's how you said it.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but no, also, like just kind of the whole
- 11:15Speaker 3: story of them being, you know, having family fights or whatever,
- 11:19Speaker 3: him not getting along with the family. So we thought
- 11:22Speaker 3: about it, but I can't. I can't pull the trigger
- 11:23Speaker 3: on it. I don't know if I can take what
- 11:25Speaker 3: is it, two hours of Aaron Rodgers.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yeah, same, That's why I can't. I don't like Aaron
- 11:29Speaker 1: Rodgers and by the way, I used to like Aaron
- 11:31Speaker 1: Rodgers a lot. I think when we started this podcast
- 11:33Speaker 1: this season, I was like, well, it's going, but it's
- 11:35Speaker 1: He's sufferable.
- 11:37Speaker 3: So does anyone.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Wants I started it and I got timon and it's
- 11:40Speaker 5: just boring.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You quit Chiefs of Hollic though, and you.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Yeah, because I hate the Chiefs too. But I don't
- 11:44Speaker 5: hate Aaron Rodgers' starting this again. We're starting this again.
- 11:47Speaker 5: I don't hate Aaron Rodgers, but it's just it was
- 11:49Speaker 5: just boring. I don't know, it's just him being Aaron Rodgers.
- 11:51Speaker 4: I might like a little bit. Yeah, you know, I
- 11:53Speaker 4: kind of pitied him a little bit.
- 11:55Speaker 3: It's like a lost forty year old guy that's just
- 11:58Speaker 3: like taking ayahuasca and trying to find the meaning of life.
- 12:01Speaker 4: And my pity hall out of it.
- 12:03Speaker 2: That guy.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I had pity for Chiefs of hal like, and
- 12:06Speaker 1: he was robbing banks. I don't I don't have any
- 12:07Speaker 1: pity for Aaron Rodgers.
- 12:08Speaker 5: No, I don't have any pity.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Uh So, No, I don't think I'm going to watch it.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It's one of those documentaries that I just I didn't
- 12:15Speaker 1: know I was gonna watch Cheaps Hawk I didn't know
- 12:16Speaker 1: I was going to watch the Death of Steve McNair.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Oh, I still need to watch that.
- 12:20Speaker 4: That one was good.
- 12:21Speaker 1: That was good, and it's only an hour.
- 12:23Speaker 3: What about receivers? Have you watched that?
- 12:25Speaker 1: I didn't much. Quarterbacks was fine. It was a little
- 12:30Speaker 1: too corny for me, and it was fine, and I
- 12:35Speaker 1: I'm glad I watched it, but it wasn't good enough
- 12:38Speaker 1: that I wanted to watch. Like It's brother receivers.
- 12:43Speaker 5: You're like, all right, I get it, And unless you're
- 12:46Speaker 5: like a diehard fan of one of those teams are quarterbacks,
- 12:48Speaker 5: you don't really care.
- 12:49Speaker 1: The only thing that I got out of Quarterbacks was
- 12:53Speaker 1: that I liked a certain player, and the rest were
- 12:55Speaker 1: just kind of like, okay, fine, I kind of already
- 12:57Speaker 1: thought that. Then that player I liked was who do
- 13:00Speaker 1: we all like more? From its cousins?
- 13:03Speaker 2: For sure?
- 13:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I forgot who was even on it and how
- 13:05Speaker 6: his wife dresses him like he was the guy that
- 13:10Speaker 6: I was like, okay, kind of like her cousins. I
- 13:12Speaker 6: think that makes me root for him now. But the rest,
- 13:14Speaker 6: but Mariota was.
- 13:16Speaker 1: On it, but he didn't really get to do much.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Yeah, got benched or whatever.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah, so, but no, I didn't watch receivers. Have you
- 13:25Speaker 1: watched right tackles?
- 13:27Speaker 3: No, but I didn't watch kickers.
- 13:28Speaker 1: That's on food punters, Oh yeah, punters, special teamers, it's
- 13:31Speaker 1: on booth or No, I didn't. Yeah, there is too.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Like I saw a TikTok of like Lamar Jackson talking
- 13:39Speaker 3: to Mark Andrews and I'm like, what's this from? And
- 13:42Speaker 3: apparently there's a Hard Knocks in season.
- 13:44Speaker 5: Yeah, on the the entire division and norse right, I
- 13:47Speaker 5: knew that.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't watch it and I didn't remember it,
- 13:50Speaker 1: but we did talk about the entire division.
- 13:52Speaker 5: M I don't because I think it's on HBO or
- 13:55Speaker 5: whatever something, whatever it is, I.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Don't have it probably yeah, Max, Yeah, Max.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's that's such a quick turnaround.
- 14:01Speaker 5: It's like a week to week thing.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Have you never seen hard Knocks? I have, even
- 14:04Speaker 1: like training camp.
- 14:05Speaker 3: It's a week out and I get it, but I
- 14:07Speaker 3: mean hard that's the only Hard Knocks. I watched the
- 14:10Speaker 3: preseason one. Yeah, but I didn't forgot that there was
- 14:13Speaker 3: an end season and they're literally talking about what happened
- 14:15Speaker 3: two days ago.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I hear you. And the nd season is different because
- 14:18Speaker 1: it isn't, but it's the same time. Difference is the camp.
- 14:24Speaker 3: No, I get it. And even with the camps, I
- 14:26Speaker 3: was like, gosh, that's a quick turnaround for such a
- 14:28Speaker 3: high quality show like that. It's pretty impressive.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Now that I agree with.
- 14:32Speaker 3: It's like read we're video dudes, like how quick are
- 14:34Speaker 3: they turning that around?
- 14:35Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 14:35Speaker 6: I don't, dude, I don't even understand how they eat
- 14:37Speaker 6: or sleep or anything like that.
- 14:38Speaker 1: What are you talking about now? What I mean? I
- 14:43Speaker 1: didn't know who was talking about. Yeah, it's pretty impressive, players, coaches, everybody.
- 14:48Speaker 5: I wonder how big their staff is though they're editing staff,
- 14:50Speaker 5: producing stuff.
- 14:51Speaker 1: And they're noting it on the fly. They know and
- 14:55Speaker 1: they also know what they're looking for on the fly.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It's different than a reality show where they have people
- 14:59Speaker 1: do stuf. But if they're they want to focus on
- 15:02Speaker 1: certain players, they'll go and they're looking for something that
- 15:05Speaker 1: they can plug into spots and like we got it,
- 15:08Speaker 1: Lamar did this. This is going to go Like they're
- 15:09Speaker 1: having to plan it as they go, which is pretty cool.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It is why it can be turned over so quick. Yeah,
- 15:14Speaker 1: but you're right, it's quick. I just it felt like
- 15:16Speaker 1: a shot to you that was looking a week and
- 15:17Speaker 1: I was like, that's every it's just a different part
- 15:19Speaker 1: of the year.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I just forgot that there was an end season hard
- 15:22Speaker 3: knocks because if it's not before the season starts, iron't
- 15:25Speaker 3: watching it.
- 15:26Speaker 1: So are we building a parlay?
- 15:29Speaker 4: Mike, No, I don't have to see.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Here's the thing. No, here's the thing. I'm I suck
- 15:36Speaker 1: at parlays, and I'm happy to do one. And everybody
- 15:39Speaker 1: can bet and lose.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Your pictures on it their faces.
- 15:45Speaker 1: That's even worse. Yeah, I know, because then I lose.
- 15:48Speaker 1: But there are other things I like to do. I
- 15:49Speaker 1: like people to go DraftKings, and like, I felt really
- 15:51Speaker 1: good about certain things, like I hit. I didn't bet
- 15:54Speaker 1: the Commanders last week that money line that the Commanders
- 15:59Speaker 1: and Detroit. Wait, I didn't bet that at all. To
- 16:01Speaker 1: spread the other three I hit hit all three of them.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I did miss championship games. Feel pretty good. Then ye
- 16:06Speaker 1: and a half they had to kick that field goal.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So I feel pretty good about just going like, here's
- 16:11Speaker 1: one or two. But I think when I like stack three,
- 16:15Speaker 1: that's tough. Yeah, so other people are great at it.
- 16:18Speaker 1: For me, then I'm just like not even for sure
- 16:21Speaker 1: about a third one. I'm not for sure about anything.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm not even for sure about a third one, but
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'm like, let me just throw one in. And that's
- 16:26Speaker 1: usually what sinks the boat, you know. But okay, I
- 16:30Speaker 1: like betting on touchdowns. I feel pretty good about touchdowns.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Yeah, touchdown score, Yeah, Yeah, that's fun.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Place a five dollars pregame bet on an offensive player
- 16:38Speaker 1: to find the end zone. And what's cool is DraftKings
- 16:41Speaker 1: if they have the longest rushing or receiving touchdown that day,
- 16:45Speaker 1: they're the king of the end zone and you want
- 16:46Speaker 1: to share two million dollars in bonus bets. So Saquon
- 16:49Speaker 1: always a good option, yeah, for longest because once he's
- 16:52Speaker 1: through second level, he's gone. Now the deal with Saquon though,
- 16:55Speaker 1: is there we a lot of people betting Saquon and
- 16:57Speaker 1: I think he hit last year rushing last week weeking,
- 17:01Speaker 1: Like receiving is kind of where the money is for me,
- 17:04Speaker 1: Like AJ Brown is interesting, Terry McLaurin is interesting. Well,
- 17:07Speaker 1: I was thinking that's a good one. But it's a
- 17:09Speaker 1: lot of fun. DraftKings is crowning a king of the

- 17:58Speaker 1: Slash promo I love Scott Pioli. I'm going to set
- 18:04Speaker 1: him up here. Five time NFL Executive of the Year,
- 18:08Speaker 1: three times Super Bowl champion, Scott Pioli. Kevin loves him too,
- 18:12Speaker 1: different reasons.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Oh of course, yes, he was glowing while you were
- 18:15Speaker 3: talking to he was like nodding along with him.
- 18:19Speaker 1: A Patriots guy, Scott a major part and building the
- 18:22Speaker 1: Patriots in early two thousands. Then he became the GM
- 18:25Speaker 1: of the Chiefs in two thousand and nine. Work for
- 18:27Speaker 1: the Falcons. He does work with the NFL. Now catch
- 18:29Speaker 1: him on the NFL network as an analyst as well,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and we'll put his social media up in our notes
- 18:35Speaker 1: as well if you want to follow him here. He
- 18:37Speaker 1: is Scott Pioli, my favorite executive of all time and
- 18:42Speaker 1: even my company, my favorite executive is Scott Pioli. I'm
- 18:45Speaker 1: telling you, I'm no, you know it's true. I love
- 18:48Speaker 1: Scott Pioli for many reasons, and so to have you
- 18:51Speaker 1: on to ask you these questions, I am so excited
- 18:53Speaker 1: about it. So thank you for spending a little bit
- 18:56Speaker 1: of time with us.
- 18:57Speaker 2: No, thank you, and thanks for having me. I tell you,
- 18:59Speaker 2: when Eric reached out, I was really excited. So thank
- 19:02Speaker 2: you very very much for having me back. It's no
- 19:05Speaker 2: thank you, appreciate you.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Nitty gritty time, What is it like to interview a
- 19:08Speaker 1: coach that you kind of already know what they're about,
- 19:10Speaker 1: Like what happens in that room, Scott that you don't
- 19:13Speaker 1: know that you need to figure out, you.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Know, it depends really on how well you know them,
- 19:17Speaker 2: not just as a football person, not just as a
- 19:20Speaker 2: team builder and coach, but as a person. So you know,
- 19:23Speaker 2: there are a couple of different situations in terms of
- 19:26Speaker 2: interview circumstances I've been involved with. And when you know someone,
- 19:31Speaker 2: it's a little bit easier, right, But it's easier for you,
- 19:36Speaker 2: but maybe sometimes tougher for them because because you know them,
- 19:39Speaker 2: they don't know where it's going to go. Because when
- 19:41Speaker 2: you're sitting in there, you're sitting in with an owner,
- 19:44Speaker 2: You're sitting in with other people that are going to
- 19:46Speaker 2: help you make the decision, because it's never just one
- 19:48Speaker 2: person makes a decision, so it's and you don't I
- 19:52Speaker 2: was never in a situation where I would want to
- 19:54Speaker 2: give that person the answer to the questions, if that
- 19:56Speaker 2: makes sense. So the most important thing you have to
- 20:01Speaker 2: be careful is if you know someone that you don't
- 20:04Speaker 2: miss important topics and questions that need to be asked
- 20:08Speaker 2: that you're going to be asking for other candidates, if
- 20:10Speaker 2: that makes sense.
- 20:11Speaker 1: How much of an interview is culture, how much is
- 20:15Speaker 1: scheme and is it different regarding who the person is.
- 20:21Speaker 2: That's a fascinating question, Bobby, because to me, the least
- 20:25Speaker 2: amount of time should be spent on scheme, because most
- 20:30Speaker 2: people that has sent to a position of having an
- 20:32Speaker 2: opportunity to be a head coach, they've got a scheme.
- 20:35Speaker 2: They've done something in their former job, whether usually a coordinator,
- 20:40Speaker 2: you know, where they know the scheme, They have their scheme.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And the truth is this, I think that there's you know,
- 20:45Speaker 2: I coached for four years before I became an evaluator
- 20:48Speaker 2: and a scout and then a front office person, and
- 20:52Speaker 2: I played all of my life up until that, so
- 20:54Speaker 2: I knew the game. But I also know that coaches
- 20:57Speaker 2: know the game on a different level than and many
- 21:00Speaker 2: of us that are in other areas. And I say
- 21:03Speaker 2: this because I think that there's a lot of people
- 21:06Speaker 2: that get into those situations, those circumstances where they know
- 21:09Speaker 2: a little bit and they think that they know more
- 21:12Speaker 2: than they do. So asking a coach about scheme too
- 21:15Speaker 2: many questions. You can ask generic questions but you don't
- 21:18Speaker 2: want to dive deep into it. Most of the time
- 21:21Speaker 2: is more spent on culture. I think it's spent on
- 21:23Speaker 2: relationships because the most important part of the scheme that
- 21:26Speaker 2: you have to understand is the base elements, so you
- 21:30Speaker 2: can go out and find players and regardless of the
- 21:33Speaker 2: regardless of the power structure and the hierarchy and that
- 21:36Speaker 2: stuff doesn't matter because the moment that the head coach
- 21:38Speaker 2: is hired. I'm a firm believer that the general manager,
- 21:42Speaker 2: vice president, player, person on, whatever that person is, they
- 21:45Speaker 2: automatically become a servant to the coach to go and
- 21:48Speaker 2: find the players that fit their scheme and fit their personality,
- 21:52Speaker 2: not people that are the same personality, but are actually
- 21:56Speaker 2: that are personality types that can follow the type of
- 22:00Speaker 2: leadership that comes in. I give you great example is
- 22:03Speaker 2: when I was the assistant general manager working under Thomas
- 22:06Speaker 2: de Mitchef, our general manager at the Falcons. The players
- 22:09Speaker 2: that dan Quinn was looking for schematically were not only different,
- 22:13Speaker 2: but they were different personality makeup type players that were
- 22:18Speaker 2: for dan Quinn versus Bill Belichick, for instance.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Are there times where and it's interesting you brought that up,
- 22:24Speaker 1: because that was what I was curious about. Are there
- 22:26Speaker 1: times where guys come in and you know who your
- 22:28Speaker 1: personnel is. I mean, Kayla Williams would be an example. Now,
- 22:31Speaker 1: whenever Ben Johnson's coming, whomever it's going to be, you
- 22:34Speaker 1: know that's the quarterback. So you're looking for a coach
- 22:38Speaker 1: that is going to be able to utilize the personnel
- 22:41Speaker 1: that you have, versus there could be a coach that's
- 22:43Speaker 1: going to come in and just go We're going to
- 22:46Speaker 1: start over, start from scratch.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Like.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Both of those are options when talking to certain coaches.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, they are both options, And I think that's
- 22:55Speaker 2: where you have to leave your personal ego at the door,
- 22:58Speaker 2: because if you go to you plan on entering these
- 23:01Speaker 2: head coaching relationships for the long term, and if you
- 23:06Speaker 2: try to fit your head coach into a certain scheme
- 23:11Speaker 2: or certain specifications of what your old staff was, that's
- 23:15Speaker 2: not fair to the person that you're trying to hire.
- 23:17Speaker 2: And really what you have to do is go out
- 23:19Speaker 2: and hire the best person available, the best coach, the
- 23:21Speaker 2: best teacher, the person who's best at player development. And
- 23:26Speaker 2: some of the best players can play regardless of the
- 23:30Speaker 2: scheme they can play. But the thing is, really good
- 23:34Speaker 2: coaches can take players and accentuate the positive and limit
- 23:38Speaker 2: the limitations, because every player has limitations, so sometimes it
- 23:42Speaker 2: really needs to be a combination of those two things.
- 23:45Speaker 2: And you can't get rid of good players that are
- 23:47Speaker 2: hard workers just because you have to find a way
- 23:52Speaker 2: to meld those two things together but not be stuck in.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I think you may be setting a relationship up for
- 23:58Speaker 2: a problem. These are the guys that i'd after before,
- 24:00Speaker 2: these are the guys that I brought in. So I've
- 24:02Speaker 2: got to find coach X that has these little these
- 24:06Speaker 2: certain things and force your program to go in a
- 24:10Speaker 2: situation that you think is best because it makes your
- 24:12Speaker 2: life more comfortable than doing what's best for the organization.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I think what would be difficult too, but also like
- 24:20Speaker 1: a put a ribbon on the Lions because they were
- 24:22Speaker 1: so good that both coordinators going and take head coaching jobs. Right,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you got DC going to the Jets, I'll see going
- 24:27Speaker 1: to the Bears. They both have their own teams now,
- 24:29Speaker 1: but now you're a head coach, and also you have
- 24:32Speaker 1: all the executives there and you're trying to find an
- 24:35Speaker 1: offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator at the same time.
- 24:38Speaker 1: That seems like that would be tough.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, attrition is one of the pitfalls of
- 24:43Speaker 2: great success, you know, and when you have success, there
- 24:47Speaker 2: will be attrition, natural attrition, But it's both a blessing
- 24:51Speaker 2: and a curse. Right when those people are leaving, that
- 24:52Speaker 2: means you've done something well. But here's what's important I
- 24:55Speaker 2: think is is Dan Campbell has a really strong reputation
- 25:00Speaker 2: and people want to work with and for Dan. But
- 25:03Speaker 2: whether they have great alignment. I believe in that organization
- 25:06Speaker 2: is Brad Holmes, their general manager, and some of the
- 25:09Speaker 2: people that are helping. You know, Shila does an amazing
- 25:12Speaker 2: job of letting people do their job. She doesn't act
- 25:14Speaker 2: like she knows things that she doesn't know, but she
- 25:18Speaker 2: does have an important amount of intelligence and leadership ability.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And then you look through the rest of the organization.
- 25:25Speaker 2: There's folks like Mike Disney. There's folks like you know,
- 25:27Speaker 2: Chris Bielman who are important and very agnew. They have
- 25:31Speaker 2: a lot of really good people in an organization. And
- 25:34Speaker 2: Brad Holmes, who is the leader as the general manager
- 25:36Speaker 2: and the personnel side, He and Dan are completely aligned
- 25:40Speaker 2: on the types of players that they want to bring
- 25:42Speaker 2: in and that they're trying to bring into their program,
- 25:45Speaker 2: so that is going to make the talent acquisition. I
- 25:48Speaker 2: always talk about things in terms of you know, people
- 25:50Speaker 2: always focus so much on player evaluation and player acquisition.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Really it's about talent because if you're building something that's
- 25:59Speaker 2: going to that's going to last, and you're thinking about
- 26:02Speaker 2: your entire football operation, you're thinking about talent in terms
- 26:06Speaker 2: of coaches, your football operations, people, your support staff. So
- 26:10Speaker 2: that idea of talent identification, talent acquisition, and talent development
- 26:15Speaker 2: and retention. Brad and Dan are aligned. So my guess
- 26:18Speaker 2: is that, yeah, it's going to be a hit, but
- 26:21Speaker 2: they've got some people that are looking to work there
- 26:23Speaker 2: and or that they can elevate from within.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I wear a bunch of hats if it's radio or
- 26:27Speaker 1: TV or podcasting or books or whatever. I have to
- 26:29Speaker 1: hire people all the time for all different jobs. And
- 26:31Speaker 1: I was explaining to the guys, and it started with
- 26:33Speaker 1: the Rooney rule of how important I think it is
- 26:35Speaker 1: even if you don't hire someone to get a lot
- 26:38Speaker 1: of people in the room, because it's not even about
- 26:41Speaker 1: that moment right there. It's about a relationship maybe begins
- 26:46Speaker 1: and you learn about them and their maturation as a
- 26:49Speaker 1: coach or an employee. In my world, they're not there yet,
- 26:52Speaker 1: but man, they're on a trajectory too, and you kind
- 26:54Speaker 1: of follow along and it builds for later. And I've
- 26:57Speaker 1: hired so many people a year after an interview for
- 27:00Speaker 1: a different job two years after. So will you talk
- 27:03Speaker 1: about that in terms of what you do when you
- 27:05Speaker 1: interview coaches that probably aren't going to get the job.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Well, I love this, but it's not just head coaches, right,
- 27:10Speaker 2: it's assistant coaches. Not that you know I ever hired
- 27:13Speaker 2: assistant coaches, but I was around in a part of that.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And Bobby, I love that you're bringing this up, because really,
- 27:19Speaker 2: what's happening in the football world. It's the same in
- 27:21Speaker 2: your industry, right. You want to get the right people
- 27:24Speaker 2: that have talent, but they have more than just you know,
- 27:27Speaker 2: we always talk about height, weight, speed, but talent comes
- 27:30Speaker 2: in different packages. And you talk about the Rooney rule,
- 27:34Speaker 2: and I just want to touch on this. The importance
- 27:36Speaker 2: and the value of diversity is so critical because people
- 27:41Speaker 2: sometimes get so myopic when they hear the idea of
- 27:44Speaker 2: diversity or the Rooney rule, and they see this as
- 27:48Speaker 2: something that is just colored. They literally see it as
- 27:50Speaker 2: black and white. But the purpose and the reason for
- 27:55Speaker 2: diversity and bringing in diversity and diverse hiring is not
- 28:00Speaker 2: just in addition to what it looks like. People come
- 28:04Speaker 2: from different backgrounds and different cultures. They bring with them
- 28:07Speaker 2: different thoughts ideas, and we all have this thing called
- 28:10Speaker 2: implicit bias, right, And they're bringing these ideas and these thoughts.
- 28:15Speaker 2: What you're looking for is diversity of thought, diversity of action.
- 28:18Speaker 2: And when you spend time with people in these interviews,
- 28:24Speaker 2: sometimes the timing isn't right for whatever reason. Sometimes you
- 28:27Speaker 2: don't have the appropriate job for a person. But I
- 28:30Speaker 2: can tell you for sure, you know, I think about
- 28:33Speaker 2: someone like Monty Austin, for right, who's now the GM
- 28:37Speaker 2: of the Cardinals. Monty came in, I interviewed him, we
- 28:40Speaker 2: didn't hire him immediately. The next year went back to him,
- 28:43Speaker 2: and this was for a scouting assistant position. And then
- 28:46Speaker 2: Monty came to us. He worked for us, and then
- 28:48Speaker 2: he left, but then he came back. Because the circumstances
- 28:52Speaker 2: and the situation, there has to be this marriage of
- 28:55Speaker 2: circumstances being right. I always talk about player development and
- 28:59Speaker 2: quarterback development being circumstantial. Right. It takes a village, and
- 29:04Speaker 2: there's often been very talented quarterbacks to come into this
- 29:07Speaker 2: league that are brought into the wrong circumstance of development.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Whether it's the head coach, whether it's the staff, whether
- 29:15Speaker 2: it's the culture, whether it's the talent around that person,
- 29:18Speaker 2: they don't get the chance to develop. And I know it.
- 29:22Speaker 2: This is related to the exact question that you were asking,
- 29:24Speaker 2: is making sure that you're bringing people in under the
- 29:28Speaker 2: right set of circumstances so you can develop them.
- 29:31Speaker 1: One of my friends we now work together for NFL.
- 29:34Speaker 1: They hired us together, but is Matt Castle. And was
- 29:38Speaker 1: talking to Matt literally yesterday. He was at the house
- 29:40Speaker 1: and so at super cool. NFL hired us. We do
- 29:43Speaker 1: a show together. And first of all, it's annoying because
- 29:46Speaker 1: he's like tall and good looking and like every it's all,
- 29:49Speaker 1: he got all the traits. But he was talking. I
- 29:52Speaker 1: asked him, I said, who on your headstone, like, who
- 29:54Speaker 1: would be your team? Because he had the Patriots, he
- 29:57Speaker 1: had the Chiefs, and then he had a couple bounds
- 29:59Speaker 1: rounds and he said it would be the Patriots because
- 30:02Speaker 1: here's the guy and he said this that never started
- 30:04Speaker 1: in college and was drafted and was kept around by
- 30:08Speaker 1: an organization and then given a chance, and that chance
- 30:12Speaker 1: he won eleven games that year and was able to go,
- 30:17Speaker 1: yeah to go, and you end up trading to Kansas
- 30:19Speaker 1: City because there was value there and you had your
- 30:20Speaker 1: quarterback back. So what would you say about Matt cast
- 30:25Speaker 1: what did you see in him? Because again not just
- 30:27Speaker 1: about Matt, but why a quarterback that's never played where?
- 30:31Speaker 1: What did you identify within him?
- 30:33Speaker 2: I love this question and I love this person. First
- 30:37Speaker 2: of all, Matt. I adore Matt and his family, right
- 30:42Speaker 2: and you know, so here's the thing. We had a
- 30:45Speaker 2: scout out there who I was. I was out at USC,
- 30:49Speaker 2: and he said, you know, and they had had during
- 30:52Speaker 2: Matt's time there, they had back to back Heisman Trophy winners,
- 30:55Speaker 2: two quarterbacks. They was a liner and Reggie Bush Palmer quarterback,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I mean starting out ahead of him. There was this
- 31:04Speaker 2: guy that that that Matt Russell, who was our West
- 31:07Speaker 2: area scout, had brought him up. He mentioned him, and
- 31:09Speaker 2: then another scout mentioned to just just brought him up
- 31:14Speaker 2: while they got so much talent there. And here's the
- 31:16Speaker 2: thing about programs like that, USC at that point in time,
- 31:20Speaker 2: had backups who could play in the NFL and should
- 31:23Speaker 2: have been drafted. I mean, heck, you know, Clay Matthews
- 31:26Speaker 2: the third didn't. He sat the bench for four years,
- 31:29Speaker 2: didn't play until his senior year. But I remember being
- 31:32Speaker 2: there at practice and I was watching the quarterbacks throw
- 31:35Speaker 2: and I'm watching this guy Castle, who was a CEO.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I was like, this guy's interesting. He had the prototype body,
- 31:40Speaker 2: looked good and you know in terms of quarterback which
- 31:43Speaker 2: were looked for through the ball well, and he had
- 31:46Speaker 2: this really good energy about him. Then as practice starts,
- 31:50Speaker 2: this guy's wearing like one of those pullover pennies on
- 31:53Speaker 2: the kickoff coverage scout team. He's doing anything and everything.
- 31:57Speaker 2: And then at their pro day he threw. And we're like,
- 32:01Speaker 2: we're firm believers in player development and the value of
- 32:05Speaker 2: drafting a quarterback, trying to draft a quarterback every year
- 32:08Speaker 2: to bring in and develop because you never know what
- 32:10Speaker 2: you're going to be able to develop end or find.
- 32:13Speaker 2: In matt we found a guy who was smart, who
- 32:15Speaker 2: was dedicated, who loved the game, willing to do anything
- 32:18Speaker 2: and everything, and we said, well, you know, I at worst,
- 32:22Speaker 2: this guy might be able to be a really good
- 32:24Speaker 2: backup quarterback. That's what we thought of him coming out.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Draft him in the seventh round, and you're right, he
- 32:29Speaker 2: becomes a starter. When Brady gets hurt, he helps us
- 32:32Speaker 2: to win eleven games and traded for him and people.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I think Matt ended up doing fourteen or fifteen years
- 32:40Speaker 2: in the league. And when he was in Kansas City,
- 32:42Speaker 2: when Charlie Weis was our coordinator that year, Matt threw
- 32:46Speaker 2: for twenty seven touchdowns and only seven interceptions, went to
- 32:49Speaker 2: the Pro Bowl, and we won the division. Matt was
- 32:53Speaker 2: also Here's why I say Matt's really smart. Matt was
- 32:58Speaker 2: acutely aware of what he do and what he couldn't do.
- 33:01Speaker 2: He trusted the coaches around him in the right when
- 33:06Speaker 2: he was at his best. He trusted the coaches around
- 33:08Speaker 2: him to put him in a position to succeed and
- 33:13Speaker 2: not fail. And I know that sounds so basic and generic,
- 33:16Speaker 2: but coaches players aren't always put in a position in
- 33:22Speaker 2: order for them to succeed. And when Matt was put
- 33:25Speaker 2: in that position, he had a great deal of success.
- 33:29Speaker 1: So I know Matt's going to hear this, and I
- 33:31Speaker 1: hope he's gonna whatever he's gonna hear it, I'm gonna
- 33:33Speaker 1: compliment him and it's annoying because MAT's my friend and
- 33:35Speaker 1: it's weird to compliment your friends openly and outwardly. Whenever
- 33:38Speaker 1: we started to work together, and I'm wondering, if this
- 33:40Speaker 1: is a trait with successful quarterbacks? Is where I'm getting
- 33:44Speaker 1: Matt was like, Hey, I want to get good at this,
- 33:46Speaker 1: and I was like, cool. Everybody says they want to
- 33:48Speaker 1: get good at everything. It's easy to say you want
- 33:50Speaker 1: to get good at something. It's hard to actually put
- 33:52Speaker 1: in the work and take the critique or the criticism
- 33:57Speaker 1: that leads to positivity afterward because some people don't have
- 34:01Speaker 1: the stomach or the skin for it. And so you know,
- 34:03Speaker 1: I will evaluate, I will go and I did all
- 34:06Speaker 1: this work on game tape. I call it like our shows.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I evaluate everything I was doing, Matt was doing. I
- 34:11Speaker 1: was like, here's how we're gonna grow.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Here's what we did.
- 34:12Speaker 1: And I sent him this whole report and he afterward
- 34:17Speaker 1: we had finished working and we're just walking and talking
- 34:19Speaker 1: and he was like, man, I appreciate that so much.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I read this, I'm gonna do that, and I'm going, man, this,
- 34:25Speaker 1: if this is like the successful quarterback way of working,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I need to have more successful quarterback friends because he
- 34:31Speaker 1: just wanted to learn. He took what it wasn't criticism.
- 34:34Speaker 1: It could it could have been taken as a but
- 34:36Speaker 1: it was what I saw as tools for growth. And
- 34:41Speaker 1: like within like twelve hours, he was doing everything that
- 34:45Speaker 1: was written there for him.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And so Bobby, I'm we could talk about this for hours.
- 34:51Speaker 2: You are nailing. It's going back to what I was
- 34:53Speaker 2: talking about, making sure that you have the right people
- 34:55Speaker 2: and in this situation, the circumstance and the culture you're
- 35:00Speaker 2: going to develop them. At the New England Patriots, we
- 35:03Speaker 2: knew what we were right. We were. It was uncomfortable,
- 35:06Speaker 2: it was emotionally draining at times. It was a lot.
- 35:10Speaker 2: We were a lot, and we understood that there was
- 35:12Speaker 2: a certain type of makeup and mentality and emotional and
- 35:17Speaker 2: mental endurance that was necessary. We knew Matt had that,
- 35:21Speaker 2: and we intentionally looked out for players. Again, we looked
- 35:24Speaker 2: for prototypical skills, tools, all of that stuff, but there
- 35:28Speaker 2: was a certain type of makeup that was required, and
- 35:31Speaker 2: you are nailing it. When you talk to Matt, you
- 35:33Speaker 2: sent him that it's it's not You're right, he's not
- 35:38Speaker 2: thin skinned. And because you can't survive never mind survive.
- 35:42Speaker 2: But you can't develop and survive in that program the
- 35:45Speaker 2: way it is wrong or right, fair, unfair, that's what
- 35:48Speaker 2: the program is. We had to find certain people. I
- 35:51Speaker 2: love that you're telling that story because that was one
- 35:53Speaker 2: of the things about Matt. There were times where it
- 35:56Speaker 2: could get too rough, and I saw that happen to
- 35:59Speaker 2: him at times where you know, that's a very fine
- 36:01Speaker 2: line between critique and criticism and over the top criticism.
- 36:07Speaker 2: And there were times, you know, over his career at
- 36:10Speaker 2: different teams, I saw it. You know, it got too
- 36:13Speaker 2: much at times and he would pull back, but he
- 36:18Speaker 2: received that, and you're telling that story about him. Those
- 36:21Speaker 2: are the type of people that you look for because
- 36:23Speaker 2: I don't think anyone hires someone You're not bringing him
- 36:27Speaker 2: on as a partner to make his life uncomfortable or unhappy, right.
- 36:32Speaker 2: You want to succeed together, So when you're giving him feedback,
- 36:35Speaker 2: you're really doing it not just for him, but for
- 36:37Speaker 2: the greater good.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Yeah, And I wondered, is that a trait of the
- 36:43Speaker 1: most successful I won't even say quarterbacks, but NFL players?
- 36:48Speaker 2: Hmm, wow, some of the most successful that I've been around,
- 36:53Speaker 2: you know, And again at the Patriots. At the Chiefs,
- 36:57Speaker 2: those were the type of personalities and and the makeup
- 37:00Speaker 2: that we had to hone in on. You know, again,
- 37:03Speaker 2: under Dan Quinn was there was a different style equally
- 37:08Speaker 2: as effective. Dan's a great coach, and I love Dan.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Dan approaches things and his staff approach things a little
- 37:15Speaker 2: bit differently, so we didn't have to focus on that
- 37:19Speaker 2: as much. Now I'll say this though, they had to
- 37:22Speaker 2: be equally as tough and equally as smart as what
- 37:24Speaker 2: we looked for at the Patriots, that's for sure.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Players coach versus a non players coach. Is that even
- 37:30Speaker 1: a thing anymore?
- 37:32Speaker 2: I honestly never understood the players coach thing, right because
- 37:39Speaker 2: you asked different people. It means different things. Back in
- 37:42Speaker 2: the day when I used to hear people say a
- 37:44Speaker 2: player's coach, those players were the type of people who
- 37:48Speaker 2: were who didn't want to be held accountable. Right, it was.
- 37:52Speaker 2: But I think it has a different I think it
- 37:55Speaker 2: has a different definition now and I think it's just
- 37:59Speaker 2: they're looking for someone to be more relatable and more Again,
- 38:03Speaker 2: what the word is is deemed to be respectful, not
- 38:07Speaker 2: that it wasn't respectful in the past, but I think
- 38:10Speaker 2: I always have to figure out. When I hear someone
- 38:13Speaker 2: say they like a player's coach again, is that someone
- 38:15Speaker 2: who's saying they're being respectful or they're not holding me accountable.
- 38:20Speaker 1: How do you feel about assistance interviewing while they're still
- 38:23Speaker 1: in the playoffs?
- 38:25Speaker 2: It's you know, I think it's a bad thing. And
- 38:28Speaker 2: and and here's what I'll say is it's the blessing
- 38:33Speaker 2: and the curse because at the years of the Patriots,
- 38:36Speaker 2: we were constantly getting requests for coaches to be interviewed.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Same thing when when you know, when we were at
- 38:42Speaker 2: the Falcons looking for DQ, DQ was in the you know,
- 38:45Speaker 2: we couldn't talk to him until afterwards, but because he
- 38:49Speaker 2: was with Seattle, it's a real distraction. But I don't
- 38:52Speaker 2: know what the right answer is. We can sit here
- 38:54Speaker 2: and say, well, we have to wait until after the playoffs. Well,
- 38:56Speaker 2: if you wait after the playoffs, here's the reality and
- 38:58Speaker 2: we all know this. I mean, let's what is. There's
- 39:00Speaker 2: going to be tampering. They're going to be people finding
- 39:03Speaker 2: ways to circumvent, circumvent and or break rules, even if
- 39:07Speaker 2: they're not having direct contact with a candidate. All of
- 39:10Speaker 2: these candidates have close friends, they have agents, They have
- 39:14Speaker 2: people's people out there, they have touch points of people.
- 39:17Speaker 2: So to me, I don't know what the right answer is.
- 39:20Speaker 2: I think is if we do something where we wait
- 39:23Speaker 2: until everyone has to wait until after the playoffs or
- 39:26Speaker 2: the Super Bowl to be interviewed. We have to understand
- 39:29Speaker 2: that rules are going to be broken and as a league,
- 39:31Speaker 2: we're going to have to be willing to enforce those
- 39:36Speaker 2: rules because there are sometimes we've seen where rules are
- 39:39Speaker 2: out there, they're not fully enforced, and then it becomes
- 39:43Speaker 2: a charade.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I had three final questions, what's it like the week
- 39:48Speaker 1: of the Super Bowl for the head exec because I
- 39:52Speaker 1: know what it's like for a player. I've talked to them.
- 39:54Speaker 1: What are you dialing in double? Are you sending back
- 39:57Speaker 1: chilling double?
- 39:58Speaker 2: No, there's no chilling because here you're working on the
- 40:01Speaker 2: next season. You're still having draft meetings. Because when you
- 40:04Speaker 2: get done at the Super Bowl, you know it's February.
- 40:07Speaker 2: And this whole idea and concept that coaches are involved.
- 40:11Speaker 2: If you're in the Super Bowl, coaches don't see they
- 40:15Speaker 2: don't see prospects that you're going to draft in April.
- 40:17Speaker 2: They don't see them until February, right because as soon
- 40:20Speaker 2: as the season's over. They also get a week off
- 40:22Speaker 2: for two weeks off, not the head coach, but the
- 40:24Speaker 2: assistant coaches. So you're still you're preparing for free agency.
- 40:28Speaker 2: You're preparing a plan for the salary cap, you're preparing
- 40:32Speaker 2: a plan for the draft. This way when the season,
- 40:34Speaker 2: I'll never forget. After our first Super Bowl, Belichick and
- 40:37Speaker 2: I are flying back, we're flying back for New Orleans,
- 40:39Speaker 2: and we're huddled up together because that was the year
- 40:41Speaker 2: actually they were I want to say it was the
- 40:43Speaker 2: year before the Texans came in. We were having this.
- 40:46Speaker 2: We had just won the Super Bowl. We were heading
- 40:48Speaker 2: back to Boston, and here we were trying to side
- 40:51Speaker 2: on the six players that we were going to put
- 40:54Speaker 2: out there as being players that were available for the
- 40:59Speaker 2: expand draft. And there's always work to be done. If
- 41:04Speaker 2: you're an executive or a front office person and you're
- 41:07Speaker 2: chilling before the Super Bowl, I mean, the Senior Bowls
- 41:10Speaker 2: is going to be the AFC Championship, NFC Championship. For
- 41:13Speaker 2: this weekend, the Senior Bowl's going on. I'm right down
- 41:17Speaker 2: here at the East West right now, I'm leaving from
- 41:18Speaker 2: here to go to the Senior Bowl. You're working on
- 41:21Speaker 2: the future and if you're it's one of those things.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I look back retrospectively so blessed to go to five
- 41:27Speaker 2: Super Bowls. I look back at those times, part of
- 41:30Speaker 2: me says, I wish I would have enjoyed those moments more.
- 41:34Speaker 2: But quite honestly, if I was enjoying those moments, I
- 41:36Speaker 2: would not have been serving my teammates, meaning the group
- 41:40Speaker 2: that I worked with, and the ownership and the fan
- 41:42Speaker 2: base very well.
- 41:44Speaker 1: I have final two questions. Who is your favorite I say,
- 41:48Speaker 1: I should say most proud of draft pick that wasn't
- 41:51Speaker 1: a first rounder but fourth fifth rounder that ended up
- 41:54Speaker 1: like you bet on him and it turned into the
- 41:56Speaker 1: real deal.
- 41:58Speaker 2: I can't give you a favor. That's I say, I
- 42:01Speaker 2: only have one child, so I can say who's your
- 42:02Speaker 2: favorite child. I can also say my daughter Mia is
- 42:08Speaker 2: my favorite child. But it's like we were so fortunate.
- 42:12Speaker 2: There were so many different I mean, the easy answer
- 42:15Speaker 2: for everyone else is, oh, it has to be Brady,
- 42:16Speaker 2: who you drafted in the sixth round. Well, and not
- 42:19Speaker 2: me specifically we drafted in the sixth round. But I
- 42:22Speaker 2: think of guys like Dan Copen. You know, I think
- 42:25Speaker 2: there were a lot you just brought up Matt Castle.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Here's a guy we drafted in the seventh round, had
- 42:29Speaker 2: a fourteen year career. I was a part of the
- 42:33Speaker 2: group that that that drafted Grady Jarrett in the fifth round.
- 42:38Speaker 2: I mean, this is I wish I'd have prepared for this.
- 42:41Speaker 2: But there's you know, there's David Gibbons. I was so
- 42:45Speaker 2: proud of that guy. The list goes on and on
- 42:49Speaker 2: a I mean, I know, I'm not coming up with
- 42:51Speaker 2: a name. Danny Copen was a terrific one. I don't
- 42:54Speaker 2: know how many folks remember Danny Copen, but center that
- 42:58Speaker 2: was so important us. You know at the Patriots and
- 43:00Speaker 2: those championships.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Don't word you have seven names? You like, I don't
- 43:04Speaker 1: have any names.
- 43:05Speaker 4: You have seven?
- 43:06Speaker 1: You have us plenty. That was that was great. You
- 43:08Speaker 1: are at the You're at the Shrine Bowl. So you're
- 43:11Speaker 1: in Ats and Dallas, right, you're a Jerry's world. That's
- 43:13Speaker 1: where what so what do you do out there? Like,
- 43:15Speaker 1: what's what's the goal?
- 43:16Speaker 2: So actually I do some consulting work for the league,
- 43:20Speaker 2: and part of what they asked me to do is
- 43:21Speaker 2: they bring me down here and also to the Seaming
- 43:23Speaker 2: Bowl and I spend time. I come down early. The
- 43:25Speaker 2: players are arriving right now as we're speaking. But I
- 43:28Speaker 2: spend time meeting with a lot of the coaches because
- 43:31Speaker 2: there's a lot of young assistant coaches that they bring
- 43:36Speaker 2: to the that coach these games, and I'm here as
- 43:38Speaker 2: a resource for them and to spend time with them
- 43:41Speaker 2: because they all have aspirations to do something more. So
- 43:45Speaker 2: I spend time visiting with them, talking about the NFL,
- 43:48Speaker 2: their future, a lot of questions I get. It's it's
- 43:52Speaker 2: a little mentoring work. And quite honestly, I do get
- 43:56Speaker 2: some folks that reach out as they're looking to hire
- 43:59Speaker 2: people and they want to know some of the people
- 44:00Speaker 2: and I have, you know, I'm a scout, so I'm
- 44:02Speaker 2: keeping my notebook over here and evaluating some of these
- 44:05Speaker 2: people and how they run meetings. I sit in on meetings.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I listened to install I listened to how they're interacting
- 44:11Speaker 2: with players. I watch how they're interacting with the players.
- 44:13Speaker 2: But then I also spend time with players. So it's
- 44:16Speaker 2: it's it's work that I do that's mentoring and helping
- 44:21Speaker 2: these you know, younger coaches build for their future.
- 44:25Speaker 1: The final thing the Family Fund for Women coaches and
- 44:27Speaker 1: Scouts what so why why are you so passionate about this?
- 44:32Speaker 1: And I know this is very important to you. Kind
- 44:34Speaker 1: of explain what it is.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'll give you the background how it started,
- 44:37Speaker 2: and I don't do you remember Katie Sours did the
- 44:40Speaker 2: coach all right? So so Katie was our daughter's fifth
- 44:44Speaker 2: grade basketball coach. That's how I got to know Katie.
- 44:48Speaker 2: And when we hired Katie Uh at the Atlanta Falcons,
- 44:52Speaker 2: it was a I brought her in as an intern,
- 44:54Speaker 2: then we're going to keep her on full time. Offered
- 44:56Speaker 2: her a job, but the salary wasn't enough because it
- 44:59Speaker 2: was only going to be a one year coaching thing,
- 45:01Speaker 2: and she had home car payments in Kansas City, which
- 45:07Speaker 2: is where she was living, and she needed help with
- 45:13Speaker 2: living expenses if she was going to take this job.
- 45:15Speaker 2: So my wife and I ended up paying for her apartment.
- 45:19Speaker 2: And that year that she worked with us, when we
- 45:21Speaker 2: went to the Super Bowl, and it was this thing
- 45:25Speaker 2: that came into our minds during this time. Because I'm
- 45:29Speaker 2: gonna be quite honest here. You know, when when it's
- 45:32Speaker 2: time for young men to get jobs, most coaches can say, hey,
- 45:36Speaker 2: come stay at our place, come stay here. There's different
- 45:41Speaker 2: perceptions of the circumstances when when when you say to
- 45:47Speaker 2: a woman, hey, come stay at our house rights, it's
- 45:50Speaker 2: one of the many, many, many things that is so unfair.
- 45:54Speaker 2: So my wife and I decided to put in Dallas
- 45:56Speaker 2: Fund into Women's Sports Foundation. I'm on the board of
- 45:58Speaker 2: the Women's Sports Foundation. Billy Jean King is a dear
- 46:01Speaker 2: friend and mentor of mine. And this, this scholarship or
- 46:06Speaker 2: it's a grant, is in place for young women who
- 46:09Speaker 2: are going to be coaches or scouts in the early
- 46:12Speaker 2: part of their career to enables that enables them to
- 46:18Speaker 2: have an opportunity to take care of the bills that
- 46:20Speaker 2: you know, that living expenses and helping pay for their
- 46:25Speaker 2: rent because there are obstacles that they have that that
- 46:30Speaker 2: that are different, that are different. And you know, I
- 46:33Speaker 2: look back Jennifer King, you know who's been a full
- 46:35Speaker 2: time coach in the NFL for years. She was one
- 46:37Speaker 2: of our first recipients. You know, Jennifer, you know, was
- 46:41Speaker 2: up at Dartmouth coaching for the late Great Buddy Tevens
- 46:44Speaker 2: and she was going to make four thousand dollars that fall,
- 46:47Speaker 2: but she was able to get money in order to
- 46:49Speaker 2: take that job. She was a head basketball coach head
- 46:52Speaker 2: women's basketball coach won an nai A championship, quit her
- 46:55Speaker 2: job and wanted to coach ball. She needed help so
- 46:58Speaker 2: that that's a large part of what this is.
- 47:00Speaker 1: And for more information, you guys, go to Women's Sports
- 47:02Speaker 1: Foundation dot org. Scott, you're my favorite, Matt and I
- 47:05Speaker 1: will be down to the super Bowl in New Orleans.
- 47:07Speaker 1: If you're around, we'd love to see you. Oh heck
- 47:10Speaker 1: you well, we'll just be it. Well, you'll see us
- 47:12Speaker 1: with the two really good looking guys that are walking around.
- 47:14Speaker 1: You know, two athletically good looking guys. You can't miss us. Scott. Seriously,
- 47:18Speaker 1: you're my favorite and hopefully I will see you soon.
- 47:21Speaker 1: And thank you so much for your time.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Thank you, Bobby, appreciate you man.
- 47:24Speaker 1: See Scott. Playoffs. We're talking about playoffs, yes, sir, we
- 47:27Speaker 1: are get in on the action at Draftking Sports Book,
- 47:30Speaker 1: an official sports betting partner of the NFL. Scoring touchdowns

- 48:45Speaker 1: go Sprey? Does everyboy think the Eagles are gonna win
- 48:47Speaker 1: eight maynight.
- 48:48Speaker 4: Will I think.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I think that the Eagles will win, but I think
- 48:50Speaker 3: Commanders will cover.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Okay, so is everybody straight up Eagles win? Yes, yeh okay,
- 48:55Speaker 1: so for sure they'll lose great okay. Way, it's like
- 48:58Speaker 1: on game day when they all go Boston College and
- 49:01Speaker 1: then if they all go, uh, it's Eagles minus six,
- 49:06Speaker 1: though I think the Eagles also cover.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Same Eddie, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Washington plus six.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Read this is uh NFL, I think, yeah, oh NFL. Okay,
- 49:20Speaker 1: come out, No, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Eagles,
- 49:22Speaker 1: yeah minus six.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Casey, yeah, I think the Eagles will cover.
- 49:25Speaker 1: And the big one, the main event, Come on, baby,
- 49:28Speaker 1: Bill's the Chiefs. Chiefs Chiefs a point and a half
- 49:30Speaker 1: favorite in Kansas City. Let's just go heads up, straight up.
- 49:33Speaker 1: We don't need to. That's one and a half is
- 49:35Speaker 1: so tight.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Than't even who is the game? Kevin, I'm gonna go Bills.
- 49:39Speaker 5: Been going with him in the playoffs. I think it's
- 49:42Speaker 5: Josh Allen's year. He's finally like settling down and playing
- 49:45Speaker 5: not too out of control, and he's gonna get it done.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Finally, I'm rolling Chiefs. I've learned never bet against the Chiefs.
- 49:51Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I've bet with the Chiefs
- 49:53Speaker 1: every time, so I've not learned to not bet against them.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I've learned that if you bet with them, Yes, So
- 49:59Speaker 1: I'm going City Hard. It's gonna be fun too. If
- 50:02Speaker 1: you go to Super Bowl, Kansasity's playing, that's pretty cool.
- 50:04Speaker 1: So I'm going Kansas City. I will not touch the spread.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I will bet money line regardless because it is so tight.
- 50:10Speaker 1: But I'm going Kansas City. Eddie.
- 50:12Speaker 3: I'm like, you, man, learn from your mistakes, and I've
- 50:14Speaker 3: always I didn't make a mistake, I can know, but
- 50:16Speaker 3: I've always said, like you know, Chiefs, come on, they've
- 50:18Speaker 3: gotta lose. At some point, they've gotta lose. But we've
- 50:20Speaker 3: seen it over and over and over. Man, the Chiefs
- 50:23Speaker 3: are gonna win. Jeef Kingdom, Baby, Jeef Kingdoms.
- 50:27Speaker 1: That's my home, that's my homes right, two Chiefs, one
- 50:31Speaker 1: bills read. Chiefs did good for me last year on
- 50:34Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, so I'm gonna I'm gonna stick with them.
- 50:36Speaker 1: And they did good for you as you bet them.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Yeah, Casey, Yeah, I mean I think Mahomes is gonna,
- 50:41Speaker 4: you know, have two or three amazing plays that are gonna,
- 50:44Speaker 4: you know, decide this game.
- 50:45Speaker 1: So Kansas City playoff wins. Patrick Mahomes second all time,
- 50:48Speaker 1: tied with Joe Montana Crazy with sixteen. Tom Brady has
- 50:52Speaker 1: thirty five playoff wins percentages, though Patrick combs eighty four
- 50:56Speaker 1: percent winning percentage in the playoffs, Tom Brady seventy two.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Kevin, you want to say.
- 51:02Speaker 5: A lot more games?
- 51:02Speaker 1: Definitely, yeah, but sixteen and three a lot more games.
- 51:06Speaker 1: It's a lot more games. Yeah, here, yeah, I love
- 51:09Speaker 1: them both. I don't know, but I know, I think
- 51:11Speaker 1: my home. I'm just saying I love them both. So
- 51:18Speaker 1: a couple of notes before we jump out on today's show.
- 51:22Speaker 1: We are going no, obviously not next week because there
- 51:26Speaker 1: is no game I guess the Pro Bowl games, but
- 51:28Speaker 1: the Super Bowls next week, so we will be in
- 51:30Speaker 1: New Orleans and so far, like on the list, look
- 51:34Speaker 1: at it earlier, we have EMMITTT. Smith.
- 51:37Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Deon Sanders, let's go next coach coach by then you
- 51:45Speaker 1: will know, yeah, oh my gosh.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Can you imagine, dude, if he ends up being the
- 51:49Speaker 3: coach and we get to talk to him.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Yeah, by then you will know.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 51:53Speaker 1: So who else do we have? Okay, Reggie Bush and
- 51:59Speaker 1: Greg Olson, said Nico Collins. Nico Collins, Yeah, some of
- 52:02Speaker 1: them waiting for a final, final confirmation. But yeah, Nico Collins.
- 52:06Speaker 3: So and what about Jordan Peel, No key.
- 52:10Speaker 1: He's doing our other show.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, you can be there, you'll be I want
- 52:14Speaker 3: to see that.
- 52:14Speaker 1: He's so funny, Michael. So that's going to happen. So
- 52:19Speaker 1: it's going to be a good trip. One of you
- 52:22Speaker 1: will not be able to go to the super Bowl
- 52:23Speaker 1: because I have four tickets for five people, and that
- 52:25Speaker 1: one of the four will be Kevin, Mike Reed or Eddie.
- 52:28Speaker 1: This has not been settled already. I've not had any
- 52:30Speaker 1: conversations outside of the show. Here's what we're going to
- 52:33Speaker 1: do on Monday's show. We will get it down to
- 52:37Speaker 1: two people who will not be able to go, and
- 52:39Speaker 1: so we are going to play a game on Monday's
- 52:42Speaker 1: show of twenty five whistles, and we'll draw that who's
- 52:46Speaker 1: playing who in the game, and if you lose, you
- 52:49Speaker 1: aren't out, but somebody else is going to lose as well,
- 52:51Speaker 1: and they're not out. But then they will play a
- 52:53Speaker 1: game and then that lot and possibly it's going to
- 52:58Speaker 1: be connected for because they have the game here. But
- 52:59Speaker 1: pas not. I'm gonna spend over the weekend looking at
- 53:01Speaker 1: board games.
- 53:02Speaker 3: It's not that squid game game that you bought, is it.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Okay, we have to pick somebody. I don't want someone
- 53:09Speaker 1: going thinking they get to go to the super Bowl
- 53:10Speaker 1: and they don't get to go.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, so we'll do that Monday show. By the way,
- 53:17Speaker 1: roughing the Passer on all quarterbacks if you guys saw
- 53:19Speaker 1: this or not. As far as what's.
- 53:22Speaker 3: Up, Kevin's already doesn't want to talking about this.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Per one hundred attempts called, people that got the most
- 53:29Speaker 1: roughing the passer calls, Matt Ryan was number one. This
- 53:34Speaker 1: is all time, Ryan Fitzpatrick at two, Russell Wilson at three,
- 53:37Speaker 1: Stafford a four, Rogers at five, Wow at six, Tannehill
- 53:43Speaker 1: at seven, Gone at eight, Josh Allen, yeah, at nine,
- 53:47Speaker 1: Cam Newton. And so now we're getting down to where
- 53:50Speaker 1: So first of all, not even the top ten are
- 53:52Speaker 1: Mahomes and Brady right, well, one of them is in
- 53:56Speaker 1: the top ten. They come in at number ten.
- 53:58Speaker 3: This is kind of destroying your theory a little bit yours. No,
- 54:01Speaker 3: it's not not at all, Tannehill. They're not trying to
- 54:04Speaker 3: protect him.
- 54:04Speaker 1: No, bring they're just killing him, some of them, some
- 54:07Speaker 1: of them side to protected. They're just like, he just
- 54:10Speaker 1: gets killed because off of thee. I'm sorry, Cam Newton
- 54:12Speaker 1: has that many just because he was such a running quarterback.
- 54:14Speaker 1: At number ten is Tom Brady gets gets Tom Brady
- 54:17Speaker 1: got way more calls than Patrick Mahomes, but bigger sample size,
- 54:20Speaker 1: bigger sample size, and now it's per one hundred so
- 54:25Speaker 1: there's no sample size.
- 54:27Speaker 4: I got him.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Yeah, data, dude, data.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Brady gets in the top ten. Yeah. Do you have Wentz, Cutler, Roethlisberger, Mahomes. Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 5: So this list is all over the place.
- 54:38Speaker 1: It sounds pretty easily all over the place. If Pearl
- 54:40Speaker 1: it's it's it doesn't matter.
- 54:42Speaker 5: I'm just saying the names are all over the place.
- 54:44Speaker 5: The names are all over there.
- 54:45Speaker 3: There's no pattern. Definitely, I'm saying.
- 54:48Speaker 1: NFL quarterbacks who started you've never heard.
- 54:51Speaker 5: You've never heard Ryan Tannehill, Tom Brady before and.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Two was not on there too.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Either.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Huh.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Well, he got rough in once in about three months,
- 54:59Speaker 1: got rough once it was out nine months.
- 55:01Speaker 4: Poor guys.
- 55:02Speaker 1: The last thing that I will say is we can
- 55:03Speaker 1: conclude on this, Eddie, you might have to bring a
- 55:05Speaker 1: suit with you on this trip.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Oh sure for the super Bowl, no problem. We sitting
- 55:09Speaker 3: in the owner suite.
- 55:10Speaker 1: I don't think I can officially announce it, but I
- 55:12Speaker 1: think that I am presenting NFL Honors Wow on the
- 55:17Speaker 1: TV show. I think. And so if they're like, you
- 55:22Speaker 1: bring you have to bring somebody, I'll let you know
- 55:25Speaker 1: you meant to bring a suit.
- 55:26Speaker 2: Wow.
- 55:26Speaker 5: Okay, so if he gets to go to that, he
- 55:27Speaker 5: doesn't go to the super Bowl.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Fair point. We'll talk about it Monday.
- 55:29Speaker 3: That's not a fair point.
- 55:31Speaker 1: But wow, Mike, but that would be cool to go
- 55:33Speaker 1: to that, right with all the athletes?
- 55:34Speaker 3: Amazing?
- 55:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so you may have to bring a suit. I'm
- 55:37Speaker 1: not confirmed.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Am I getting on stage with you?
- 55:39Speaker 1: Yeah? We're doing it together. So okay, we're doing it together.
- 55:44Speaker 5: And he shows up in a Romo jersey.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Right, that's it. Thank you guys. Uh go check out
