- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorite's presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are an Action Network podcast. I'm branding Kravitz back
- 0:17Speaker 1: at It. As we stroll through our first week without
- 0:21Speaker 1: football since late August, the first Lady of the pod,
- 0:25Speaker 1: Kendrick Middleton, is here, the prime Minister of Degenerate Nation, Stucky.
- 0:28Speaker 1: On today's episode, we've got another special guest joining us,
- 0:31Speaker 1: this time to chat about the NFC side of the
- 0:34Speaker 1: Super Bowl equation, a Seahawks insider. And by next week
- 0:39Speaker 1: we're gonna be locked and loaded with our official plays.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I have already made seven bets for Super Bowl sixty.
- 0:46Speaker 1: My card is filling up, Stucky. How is your sheet
- 0:49Speaker 1: looking the week prior?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Still?
- 0:53Speaker 3: God, I still have to go through props. I did
- 0:55Speaker 3: my first go through. I spent like the last forty
- 0:59Speaker 3: eight hours on college basketball stuff, so I got to
- 1:03Speaker 3: get back into props. Did a lot of the game stuff. Really,
- 1:07Speaker 3: I can't wait to talk about that the game next week,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and the x's and o's, and there are so many
- 1:12Speaker 3: fascinating angles that like I just keep uncovering, and a
- 1:16Speaker 3: lot of it's just what is McDonald going to do?
- 1:19Speaker 3: What is McDaniel going to do Howard like that chess
- 1:21Speaker 3: match is going to be awesome, and that's usually what
- 1:24Speaker 3: determines these games. As of right now, like I'm lead,
- 1:28Speaker 3: my numbers say small into the pats and above forty five,
- 1:33Speaker 3: I would look at the under. I do think it's
- 1:35Speaker 3: going to be a lower scoring game. But as of
- 1:39Speaker 3: right now, the only thing that I've placed are a
- 1:42Speaker 3: bunch of Hunter Henry props have him over catches, over
- 1:46Speaker 3: receiving yards, over longest receiving yard, our over longest catch,
- 1:54Speaker 3: I think sixteen and a half and seventeen and a half.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I also played some long shot Henry stuff, mainly just
- 2:02Speaker 3: leading receiver in the game he actually played. I forgot
- 2:06Speaker 3: about this that he played Seattle last year and McDonald defense.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It was early in the season and he finished with
- 2:12Speaker 3: I think nine catches for one hundred and five yards.
- 2:15Speaker 3: But well, I'll talk about more about this next week.
- 2:17Speaker 3: But the defense kind of like funnels the tight ends,
- 2:20Speaker 3: they're pretty vulnerable there. There is some risk that McDonald
- 2:23Speaker 3: does say, look, I know Henry is your you know,
- 2:28Speaker 3: second primary option. You know you have Booty is the
- 2:32Speaker 3: deep threat. You know, digs will play a lot in
- 2:36Speaker 3: the slot, I imagine. But McDonald, what could just say,
- 2:39Speaker 3: like we're taking away Henry always a risk in the
- 2:42Speaker 3: Super Bowls, but I thought there was some value in
- 2:45Speaker 3: some of his numbers. So I have some some Hunter
- 2:48Speaker 3: Henry stuff and the rest I'll be filling out over
- 2:52Speaker 3: the next four to five days. There's just so much
- 2:55Speaker 3: to dig into a lot of this with the Super
- 2:58Speaker 3: Bowl is there's two weeks, so you can there can
- 3:03Speaker 3: be some form of you know, over analysis, right, Yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 3: you can go down so many wormholes and you can
- 3:14Speaker 3: you can convince yourself well this and then so my
- 3:18Speaker 3: advice to people, I mean, generally speaking, you want to
- 3:21Speaker 3: look more towards unders than overs if you want to
- 3:25Speaker 3: like diversify, But if you're just looking to have fun
- 3:31Speaker 3: for entertainment, my advice is, and this is what I do. Primarily,
- 3:35Speaker 3: I'm not a props player except in these big games,
- 3:38Speaker 3: national titles, a couple of NFL playoff games and then
- 3:40Speaker 3: the Super Bowl. Target a guy or two that you
- 3:43Speaker 3: like because of a matchup and like as as a
- 3:46Speaker 3: horse or two, and then just ride them a couple
- 3:49Speaker 3: of different ways in the prop market. Takes them take
- 3:51Speaker 3: some long shot flyers. That's my advice if you want
- 3:55Speaker 3: to do it recreationally. So but yeah, we'll have much
- 3:58Speaker 3: more next week. That's uh what I'll be spending part
- 4:03Speaker 3: of my next five days on.
- 4:04Speaker 4: So I have.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I think if we do a plant the flag next week,
- 4:09Speaker 1: which I'm sure we will, it's gonna be on this first.
- 4:11Speaker 3: If someone ask you for your place, I don't think.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I don't. I'm kidding ouch.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I feel like I got So what do you got?
- 4:19Speaker 3: What you got?
- 4:21Speaker 4: What I know?
- 4:22Speaker 3: You got Halani.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Hallani over one and a half receptions.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I also parlayed that with a Kenneth Walker touchdown for
- 4:28Speaker 1: the fun of it to Mario Douglas under eleven and
- 4:30Speaker 1: a half receiving yards first quarter under eight and a half.
- 4:34Speaker 4: My god, is.
- 4:34Speaker 1: This trend strong? With teams just completely tightening up early
- 4:38Speaker 1: on in games? You got two of the best defenses
- 4:41Speaker 1: in the league. So can I unofficial there's.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Not a play market too, but that I used to
- 4:46Speaker 3: bet that every year. Evan can confirm. I think it
- 4:49Speaker 3: used to always be ten and a half. It depends
- 4:51Speaker 3: on the total, obviously, but with a total in this
- 4:55Speaker 3: range you would be able to get ten ten and
- 4:57Speaker 3: a half. But yeah, I mean if you go back
- 5:02Speaker 3: historically in Super Bowls there it's usually like three nothing
- 5:06Speaker 3: seven nothing, zero zero. There's a lot of feeling out.
- 5:10Speaker 3: There's a lot of but the you know, the market
- 5:14Speaker 3: catches up to these things. There's there's a lot of
- 5:18Speaker 3: and I can see that this specifically in this game,
- 5:22Speaker 3: right you have Sam Darnold, who can be turnover browne,
- 5:24Speaker 3: and you know you have the Seahawks defense. You have
- 5:26Speaker 3: Drake may who is has been turnover prone with fumbles,
- 5:33Speaker 3: shaky offensive line, they might want to protect him early.
- 5:37Speaker 3: See what the Seahawks offense has got, So there's a
- 5:39Speaker 3: little bit of like, hey, let's know they maybe they
- 5:43Speaker 3: just throw a caution into the wind and come out
- 5:46Speaker 3: guns of blazing. But in the past, this is how
- 5:49Speaker 3: teams would approach it. With this in this specific scenario,
- 5:52Speaker 3: I could see both just playing it a little close
- 5:54Speaker 3: to the vest early on. And this game is starting
- 5:57Speaker 3: pretty slow. So if you like the over, I'm not
- 6:01Speaker 3: gonna tell you not to bet the over pregame, but
- 6:05Speaker 3: maybe take a piece off and wait to see if
- 6:10Speaker 3: you can also add a better position live because I
- 6:14Speaker 3: do think that this game could start slow and then
- 6:18Speaker 3: potentially open up later and then if one team has
- 6:20Speaker 3: to play catch up, that's when the turnovers could come
- 6:23Speaker 3: into play.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So this is where you were really laugh at me.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Kendrick has already given me shit for this. The coffee
- 6:29Speaker 1: was really hitting yesterday. I bet the Falcons to win
- 6:32Speaker 1: next year's Super Bowl. That's that's how. That's how in
- 6:35Speaker 1: the Weeds we got seventy five to one. So thank you,
- 6:39Speaker 1: thank you for the call out.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Kendrick. You immediately.
- 6:43Speaker 3: How did you get how did you go from breaking
- 6:45Speaker 3: down the game to betting the Falcons?
- 6:48Speaker 4: So I think it was the Todd Monkin higher.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I think that this would be the most Browns thing
- 6:53Speaker 1: ever to let Kevin Stefanski go bring in a head
- 6:58Speaker 1: coach that nobody else was trying to higher. And then
- 7:01Speaker 1: he and then he goes to Atlanta, who at the
- 7:04Speaker 1: tail end of the season one of the hottest teams
- 7:06Speaker 1: in the league. Thank god for all these other NFC
- 7:08Speaker 1: teams they didn't make it into the playoffs. They've got
- 7:11Speaker 1: a loaded roster, they've got just enough money to spend
- 7:14Speaker 1: in free agency to fill some holes. It is about
- 7:16Speaker 1: Penix taking that next step. But it's a very winnable
- 7:20Speaker 1: division and if they're in the playoffs, which they should
- 7:24Speaker 1: be sitting on a seventy five to one.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll take my chances with a coaching upgrade too.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Why not just wait for them to win the division
- 7:32Speaker 5: like a normal.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Person, because you're not getting seventy five to one. When
- 7:36Speaker 4: they win the league, I can lock that up now.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I might even bet that too.
- 7:40Speaker 5: So you're like the meme of the kid who is
- 7:43Speaker 5: like screaming in the back seat and the mom's like,
- 7:45Speaker 5: why can't you just be normal?
- 7:46Speaker 6: And he's just yelling.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That's why plant the flag for Super Bowl sixty is
- 7:51Speaker 1: Falcon super Bowl sixty one.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I know, I don't mind it as a long shot.
- 7:55Speaker 3: I think Pennix. I mean he has to become more
- 7:58Speaker 3: consistent and more accurate.
- 7:59Speaker 6: Jah doesn't have an a c L left.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that I was gonna say. That's my concern
- 8:04Speaker 3: is all of his injuries. He should be They say
- 8:06Speaker 3: he's gonna be ready by the start of the season.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I believe, but.
- 8:10Speaker 6: They should give the kid a prosthetic leg.
- 8:12Speaker 1: He's he is a professional rehaber for a c L injuries,
- 8:17Speaker 1: so he knows.
- 8:18Speaker 4: He knows until next one.
- 8:20Speaker 5: It's like it's like me, I have ripped this ear
- 8:23Speaker 5: and half so many times. I don't have enough cartilage
- 8:25Speaker 5: for them to sew it back together. So I just
- 8:27Speaker 5: permanently have a pac Man ear that's gonna be his
- 8:30Speaker 5: a CL next year.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Wait, what is going on with your head?
- 8:34Speaker 7: What?
- 8:34Speaker 4: Wait?
- 8:35Speaker 6: Hold on, let me see if I get close.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Enough, how is this? What?
- 8:38Speaker 5: Oh my god, my Michael Pennock's ear right here?
- 8:43Speaker 1: The YouTube views just got steamed. Do you want to
- 8:49Speaker 1: explain that to us or should we just move on?
- 8:52Speaker 7: No?
- 8:52Speaker 5: I just I've ripped it so many times in sports,
- 8:54Speaker 5: I don't have enough cartilage left for them to fix it.
- 8:56Speaker 6: That's literally going to be his a c L.
- 8:58Speaker 1: All right, Jack young Blood, that's pretty bad ass. All right, Stucky,
- 9:01Speaker 1: you have a random question for us this week.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Hey, this is a dumb question.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Let me ask you a personal question kind of question?
- 9:09Speaker 8: Is that?
- 9:10Speaker 1: This question?
- 9:12Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 9:12Speaker 3: All right, you gotta think this. You have to answer
- 9:15Speaker 3: very quick. Do you have a pen and paper or.
- 9:20Speaker 5: I can Yeah, I can put it in my notes app.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Yeah, put it in your notes app. All right, So
- 9:23Speaker 3: you gotta answer just right because you both can't shout
- 9:26Speaker 3: out the answer. So I want you to write down
- 9:29Speaker 3: in your phone or wherever what first comes to mind,
- 9:32Speaker 3: Because you're gonna be in a panicked state and you
- 9:37Speaker 3: have to decide right away. Your house. Hopefully this doesn't
- 9:43Speaker 3: happen in real life, but your house is on fire.
- 9:45Speaker 3: You have thirty seconds to get out safely. All of
- 9:51Speaker 3: the living beings or creatures in your house will will
- 9:55Speaker 3: get out. What you have thirty seconds? What are you
- 10:00Speaker 3: adding to it from your house to bring out?
- 10:04Speaker 6: I am such an insane person.
- 10:06Speaker 5: I already have an emergency box of all my important
- 10:08Speaker 5: documents in my passport in my closet.
- 10:10Speaker 6: That's it.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Nothing else, Ah.
- 10:13Speaker 4: I get three items you said.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Well, just whatever you can give thirty seconds.
- 10:17Speaker 5: So like, if my pets are fine, I'm gonna grab
- 10:20Speaker 5: that emergency box and probably my laptop.
- 10:25Speaker 3: That's a good idea, having an emergency box I have.
- 10:28Speaker 5: You can get fireproof boxes online. They're a little expensive,
- 10:32Speaker 5: but they're worth it one hundred percent in my opinion.
- 10:34Speaker 5: I have my passport, all of my important documentation, my
- 10:37Speaker 5: family jewelry, like everything in this box and it's fireproof.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm a fireproof safe. But I don't have any
- 10:44Speaker 3: of my important documents in there.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Oh man, So like it could could be.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It could be like five items if you can like
- 10:55Speaker 3: socise matters no pun intended, like whatever you can grab
- 11:01Speaker 3: in thirty seconds and get out what did you first
- 11:04Speaker 3: think of? And you can't like this is a split second.
- 11:07Speaker 3: That's why I wanted you to just right away. I think,
- 11:10Speaker 3: is there something sentimental? Is there something super valuable in
- 11:13Speaker 3: your house? Maybe I'm just trying to find out so
- 11:15Speaker 3: I can rob your house, But uh what what came
- 11:21Speaker 3: to mind?
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm realizing how panicked that would be, and how little
- 11:25Speaker 1: I would grab by, how hard this was to write along?
- 11:27Speaker 6: Well, you not thought about this before.
- 11:28Speaker 5: This is why boys are so insane, because the long
- 11:31Speaker 5: term thinking and planning that women have is nuts.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I just I don't know, there's really I don't really
- 11:38Speaker 1: have a lot of stuff that I can't live without,
- 11:40Speaker 1: so as long as so my first was my wallet
- 11:42Speaker 1: so that I don't have to go through that rigamarole
- 11:44Speaker 1: like updating everything.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Grab my wallet, my radio equipment because the station would
- 11:50Speaker 4: charge me for that probably.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And then my and then my cal Ripkens signed a
- 11:55Speaker 1: baseball bat from the nineteen ninety three MLB All Star Game,
- 11:59Speaker 1: which it's in the garage too, so that'll be an
- 12:02Speaker 1: easy one.
- 12:03Speaker 4: As I make my way out of the house, you can.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Be running out of the house with radio equipment on
- 12:07Speaker 3: in a bath. They're going to arrest you for seva five. Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I thought about this and I was like, I really
- 12:14Speaker 3: don't know. I mean, my what do I collect that
- 12:17Speaker 3: I love? I mean, I have my book I have
- 12:20Speaker 3: a thousand over a thousand books. Like they're gone.
- 12:23Speaker 4: That's that would suck, right, let those go.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Those are gone. My bar had a huge bar collect
- 12:30Speaker 3: like liquor collection.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Is just a bomb.
- 12:35Speaker 3: They're gone. Like, so definitely we've got my I thought,
- 12:39Speaker 3: I said, I've got my passport, my laptop, wallet and
- 12:47Speaker 3: uh oh this, I'm gonna look like a crazy person too.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I have a.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I'll get this right here.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Oh we get props on today's Oh wow, we're gonna
- 12:57Speaker 1: doesn't know that pre super Bowl.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Super Bowl is gonna.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Sword from this is from my great grandfather who was
- 13:03Speaker 3: in the Swiss.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Guard and you talked about him having a bat.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm coming out of the sword.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Yeah, your s is definitely go to jail.
- 13:13Speaker 5: So the passport on the sword is on the run.
- 13:15Speaker 5: But I don't think Kentucky that's probably pretty normal.
- 13:18Speaker 3: But I don't have. Yeah, I don't have like a
- 13:20Speaker 3: sentimental thing that I would have to grab, So yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 3: it was mine.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Wouldn't hit me unto like ten years down the road,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I'd be like, oh shit, I should have grabbed that
- 13:32Speaker 1: thing when my house burned down.
- 13:35Speaker 6: I think that this is everyone's lesson.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Go online right now and order yourself a fireproof box.
- 13:41Speaker 5: If you've learned anything from anybody today, there you go.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Heaven. Do you have anything that you were like, I
- 13:46Speaker 3: gotta get this.
- 13:48Speaker 7: I have some clay from Rolling Garros, then I think
- 13:51Speaker 7: I would probably grab like I have some items on
- 13:53Speaker 7: my desk that are valuable to me, Like I have
- 13:56Speaker 7: some water from like some canal, like you know, just stuff,
- 13:59Speaker 7: and I travel, and I've got like a memorabilia.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Like the Taylor Swift Rain show.
- 14:04Speaker 7: Yes, perfect, yes, but I think it's like more of
- 14:06Speaker 7: a memorabilia thing, like I have a bunch of items
- 14:10Speaker 7: like that. I also have a Paul la Duca bobblehead
- 14:12Speaker 7: that would probably.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Have to come with me.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Paul Laduca.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Wow.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Throw back to early action day.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I picture Evans standing outside of his burning apartment just
- 14:21Speaker 1: holding a cup like I got my water, So we're good.
- 14:23Speaker 4: And my Clay Yes exactly. Oh all fuck okay suck.
- 14:30Speaker 4: That was great. That was great.

- 15:41Speaker 1: Seattle back in the Super Bowl for the first time
- 15:43Speaker 1: since twenty fifteen. They're the favorites. The line parked at
- 15:46Speaker 1: minus four and a half. What can we expect?
- 15:50Speaker 4: What do we need to know?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Let's find out from our Seattle source, Nick Lee is
- 15:55Speaker 1: at Nick.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Lee fifty one on the Bird app.
- 15:58Speaker 1: He's the Birdman on the Bird app, contributor for Emerald
- 16:02Speaker 1: City Spectrum and the Locked On Seahawks podcast. Nick, thanks
- 16:06Speaker 1: for taking some time to chat with us so that
- 16:08Speaker 1: we can dig in to the NFC side of the equation.
- 16:12Speaker 8: I'm truly honored to be here. Thanks guys. When you
- 16:15Speaker 8: reached out, I couldn't have been happier. I've been really
- 16:17Speaker 8: looking forward to this. I love what you guys do,
- 16:20Speaker 8: so I.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Will thank you for flattering us. You didn't have to
- 16:22Speaker 1: say that. I will start with this. Let's talk about
- 16:25Speaker 1: the most important position of all your squad let Geno
- 16:28Speaker 1: Smith Walk they signed Sam Darnold to that three year,
- 16:31Speaker 1: one hundred million dollar contract. What was your opinion on
- 16:34Speaker 1: that at the time, and how does that compare to
- 16:37Speaker 1: how you feel about it now.
- 16:39Speaker 4: As we inch closer to Super Bowl Sunday.
- 16:42Speaker 8: Well, to move on from Geno at the time fell, okay,
- 16:46Speaker 8: just because there seemed to have been some sort of
- 16:48Speaker 8: souring on Geno and Mutual. There's a contract dispute and.
- 16:55Speaker 2: The sides weren't seeing eye to eye.
- 16:57Speaker 8: And I'm not sure how much him and Nick Mike
- 17:00Speaker 8: McDonald really truly saw I to I because he was
- 17:03Speaker 8: more of a Pete Carroll guy, because Pete Carroll brought
- 17:05Speaker 8: him in and had that twenty twenty two season.
- 17:07Speaker 2: So the moving on from Gino made sense. But of course,
- 17:10Speaker 2: with the roster the Seahawks had, you're.
- 17:12Speaker 8: Wondering, okay, who's going to come in and maybe help
- 17:15Speaker 8: the Seahawks compete because this is not a rebuilding roster.
- 17:18Speaker 8: And the signing of Sam Donald after the Minnesota season,
- 17:23Speaker 8: of course, we all know how it ended, but it
- 17:25Speaker 8: gave me hope actually, which is weird because most people like, oh, yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 8: they move on from Geno Smith, you signed Sam Donald.
- 17:31Speaker 8: I have more hope. Now, that's kind of how I felt,
- 17:33Speaker 8: but that wasn't the prevailing narrative. But I also saw
- 17:38Speaker 8: what happened when the Seahawks moved on from Russell Wilson,
- 17:41Speaker 8: where that was painful, but I think in the end
- 17:43Speaker 8: that has moved to being a positive. Of course, with
- 17:47Speaker 8: everything else going on, so I had it basically comes
- 17:50Speaker 8: down to I had faith in John Schneider and this
- 17:52Speaker 8: front office, and if they saw a need to move
- 17:55Speaker 8: on from Geno and sign Sam Donald, they've basically at
- 18:00Speaker 8: this point they've earned our trust, and I would say
- 18:03Speaker 8: that's worked out pretty okay.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I think the best organizations and sports are ones that
- 18:07Speaker 1: just earn the trust of their fans when they're able
- 18:09Speaker 1: to make big moves and they don't get a big
- 18:12Speaker 1: backlash from it because it's worked out in the past. Now,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I've done a lot of work on the running back
- 18:19Speaker 1: situation going up against New England because the Pats' run
- 18:23Speaker 1: defense is stiff. It'll be the stiffest run defense that
- 18:27Speaker 1: Seattle has gone up against so far in the playoffs,
- 18:30Speaker 1: which isn't the highest bar to cross at this point,
- 18:33Speaker 1: but the team was able to get by without Zach
- 18:35Speaker 1: Charboney in the NFC Championship game. Throughout the season, it
- 18:38Speaker 1: was pretty much an even split. It was Sharbonay, it
- 18:41Speaker 1: was Kenneth Walker. Now it's all on kW three. Is
- 18:46Speaker 1: this where his absence is missed or do you think
- 18:50Speaker 1: they're going to be able to get by without him?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Just fine, because it's a one game sample. We're not
- 18:54Speaker 1: talking about trying to get by without the tandem over
- 18:58Speaker 1: a one or two month stretch.
- 19:00Speaker 3: George o'lannie disrespect by.
- 19:01Speaker 1: The way, bet and I'm betting o'lannie props, but he
- 19:05Speaker 1: is not Zach Sharbonay.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true and good point.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Such.
- 19:09Speaker 8: Yeah, that George George Lane caught I think it was
- 19:12Speaker 8: twenty three yards at receiving in the championship game. Yeah,
- 19:17Speaker 8: like you said, this is a one game sample. I
- 19:20Speaker 8: think that could be a bit overblown. In fact, I
- 19:23Speaker 8: think the fact that Zach Charboney did spell ken Walker
- 19:27Speaker 8: more during the year and it was more of a split,
- 19:30Speaker 8: I think that's gonna approve well when they because they've
- 19:32Speaker 8: really handed handed the keys to ken Walker and say
- 19:36Speaker 8: all right, go get him, kid, this is yours, and
- 19:38Speaker 8: you know, earn a few dollars as well. Because he's
- 19:40Speaker 8: a pending free agent. So I think with it just
- 19:44Speaker 8: being basically two games with the Championship Game and the
- 19:47Speaker 8: Super Bowl, you know, a week off as well, that
- 19:50Speaker 8: part is a little overblown. I think is because he's
- 19:54Speaker 8: been spared most of the season, so the tread is
- 19:56Speaker 8: still on the tires a little bit, just because that
- 19:58Speaker 8: split with Sharp and it was there all season long,
- 20:02Speaker 8: and now you can kind of take the you know,
- 20:04Speaker 8: take the bubble wrap off because this is there's no
- 20:06Speaker 8: tomorrow after the Super Bowl. This is it and you
- 20:09Speaker 8: can ride him for twenty five plus touches, I think,
- 20:12Speaker 8: and he's shown in the past his rookie year he
- 20:14Speaker 8: was a workhorse and you know, flirted with Offensive Rookie
- 20:17Speaker 8: of the Year and he's fought injuries since them. But
- 20:21Speaker 8: he's been very healthy this year and part of that,
- 20:22Speaker 8: again is due to the split with Sharbonney. So in
- 20:25Speaker 8: a weird way, the split with Sharbonney still is benefiting
- 20:28Speaker 8: the Seahawks because ken Walker has more tread on the
- 20:32Speaker 8: tires and in the Super Bowl than maybe if he
- 20:34Speaker 8: spent all year as the workhorse. And yeah, George Lane,
- 20:36Speaker 8: I think another week of getting comfortable in that third
- 20:39Speaker 8: down you know, extra backspot will.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Help as well.
- 20:42Speaker 8: But overall, I think that the split benefits ken Walker
- 20:46Speaker 8: throughout the year and now he's fresher than he would
- 20:49Speaker 8: have been in just for one game left.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Somebody on this show had to bring this up with
- 20:54Speaker 5: the big conversation surrounding the Patriots this season, not just
- 20:57Speaker 5: up here but nationally. Has been the easy schedule they've
- 21:00Speaker 5: played in the.
- 21:00Speaker 6: Path they had to get where they are.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Obviously, all you can do is play the schedule in
- 21:03Speaker 5: front of you, but no team has ever won a
- 21:05Speaker 5: championship without some sort of luck. Do you think the
- 21:08Speaker 5: Seahawks being more battle tested in this scenario helps them?
- 21:11Speaker 5: Obviously they might be a little bit more injured just
- 21:14Speaker 5: because of the defenses and the gauntlet that they kind
- 21:16Speaker 5: of went through this year, or do you think that
- 21:17Speaker 5: it hurts them.
- 21:19Speaker 8: It's a great question, Kendrick, because I I'm not going
- 21:22Speaker 8: to subscribe to the whole easy schedule thing.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It's the NFL.
- 21:25Speaker 8: This isn't Alabama, this isn't you know, Indiana's non conference schedule.
- 21:31Speaker 2: This you know, this is the NFL.
- 21:34Speaker 8: And you know, short of the Raiders, maybe everyone else
- 21:38Speaker 8: is is you know, they're they're full of it's full
- 21:41Speaker 8: of professional football players. And yes, while the Seahawks I
- 21:45Speaker 8: think they're nine to two when facing a team with
- 21:47Speaker 8: a winning record counting playoffs and the Patriots are five
- 21:49Speaker 8: and two, that's not nothing. You know, the Patriots are
- 21:54Speaker 8: here because they beat playoff teams and so.
- 21:57Speaker 6: I have defenses in the playoffs, yeah, yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 8: Yeah, And and yeah they've they've they've played some good defense,
- 22:04Speaker 8: as Drake may has been fantastic.
- 22:06Speaker 2: You know, the Broncos were no joke.
- 22:07Speaker 8: I know, the weather was kind of a weird thing
- 22:09Speaker 8: and people were gonna say, oh, yeah that the Patriots
- 22:11Speaker 8: benefited from that with the second half blizzard, But I
- 22:14Speaker 8: mean the Broncos were playing in the same blizzard. The
- 22:17Speaker 8: Patriots were playing in the same blizzard, and you know,
- 22:20Speaker 8: and Mike Rabel just seem to have those guys prepped
- 22:23Speaker 8: a little bit better. But as far as being battle tested, yes,
- 22:26Speaker 8: there's a balance I think between being battle tested and
- 22:29Speaker 8: being fatigued. Because the Seahawks, yeah, you're right, went through
- 22:33Speaker 8: an absolute gauntlet. We're talking in the last five weeks.
- 22:36Speaker 8: You know, the forty nine ers twice, the Rams twice,
- 22:38Speaker 8: and throwing the Panthers who were feisty and made the
- 22:41Speaker 8: playoffs and and so that you know, they that was
- 22:45Speaker 8: quite a run. And while I think maybe this is
- 22:48Speaker 8: a bit of fatigue, but I do think if this
- 22:50Speaker 8: game is close late to the super Bowl, that experience
- 22:53Speaker 8: I think will prove beneficial.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Like, you know, Mike bc donald's like, hey, we've been
- 22:56Speaker 2: here before.
- 22:57Speaker 8: We've had to stop Matthew Stafford trying to turn trying
- 23:00Speaker 8: to win the game against us.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You know, We've We've been there, done that.
- 23:03Speaker 8: We've stymied Kyle Shanahan when he's trying to win the
- 23:08Speaker 8: number one seed in the NFC and trying to win
- 23:10Speaker 8: a playoff game. So yeah, I think there's a balance
- 23:13Speaker 8: to it, and I do think it would benefit the
- 23:15Speaker 8: Seahawks in the end. But I'm definitely going to go
- 23:17Speaker 8: short of saying the Patriots are lucky to be here
- 23:19Speaker 8: or have any sort of you.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Know, cupcake schedule, because this is the NFL. There's no
- 23:23Speaker 2: such thing.
- 23:24Speaker 5: This is a gambling show at the end of the day,
- 23:26Speaker 5: and everybody wants and anytime touchdown scorer for the Super Bowl,
- 23:29Speaker 5: and Christian Gonzalez is going to have his hands full
- 23:31Speaker 5: with JSN. So I'm looking probably elsewhere for a little
- 23:34Speaker 5: bit of a bigger payout. Cooper Cup hasn't been the
- 23:36Speaker 5: Rams version of himself this season, still had some big
- 23:38Speaker 5: clutch plays currently plus two fifty for in anytime over
- 23:41Speaker 5: on DraftKings, Who do you think about What do you
- 23:44Speaker 5: think about taking a shot at him considering I don't
- 23:46Speaker 5: want to see the inconsistency. I literally have quotes around
- 23:49Speaker 5: inconsistency and him in my notes. But what do you
- 23:51Speaker 5: think about that as kind of a longer shot play
- 23:54Speaker 5: just for people who are looking for a little bit
- 23:56Speaker 5: of action in this game?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:58Speaker 8: I like that.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I mean he did.
- 23:59Speaker 8: He's against the Rams in the NFT Championship game, and
- 24:03Speaker 8: I do think there was a little bit of extra
- 24:06Speaker 8: efforts on the coaching staff and team's standpoint of getting
- 24:09Speaker 8: him that revenge touchdown. There's there's been whispers of or
- 24:12Speaker 8: not whisperers. It's fairly public now of how things have
- 24:16Speaker 8: ended with Cooper Cup in LA, so maybe there was
- 24:18Speaker 8: extra motivation. But Cooper Cup touchdown, I mean he caught too.
- 24:22Speaker 8: In the regular season. He had almost six hundred receiving yards,
- 24:25Speaker 8: so it wasn't nothing in the in the in the
- 24:28Speaker 8: regular season, and I think The misconception is that it's
- 24:31Speaker 8: JSN and nobody else and Jackson Smith and jig was
- 24:34Speaker 8: probably gonna win Offensive Player of the Year. But that
- 24:36Speaker 8: does not mean that the Seahawks have had nobody else
- 24:39Speaker 8: another one I would watch for. In fact, I was
- 24:42Speaker 8: looking at like sleeper super Bowl MVPs and I think
- 24:45Speaker 8: I had there. I saw Rashid shi Heat at plus
- 24:47Speaker 8: five thousand. I wouldn't also sleep on Rashie Shiheats as
- 24:52Speaker 8: either a receiving touchdown or you know. Of course, he
- 24:56Speaker 8: can be a huge impact in the return game because
- 24:58Speaker 8: he's already won the Seahawks seven games. So yeah, Cooper
- 25:00Speaker 8: Cup at plus two fifty sounds nice because the Seahawks
- 25:04Speaker 8: do feature him, especially after Christian Gonzalez does. I don't
- 25:08Speaker 8: think he's gonna shut down Jackson Smith and Jigba, but
- 25:10Speaker 8: at least slow him down. The Seahawks have proven they
- 25:13Speaker 8: can use the options elsewhere. Rashi hi Heat had a
- 25:16Speaker 8: fifty plus yard reception against the Rams last week, So yeah,
- 25:20Speaker 8: Cooper Cup and Rashi Shih. Heeder wants to watch. An
- 25:23Speaker 8: Aj Barner has been a nice option at tie it end.
- 25:25Speaker 3: To Yeah, there's also a chance that the Patriots. I
- 25:29Speaker 3: don't know if they take a page from the Belichick
- 25:30Speaker 3: book and just say we're going to take away JSN. Right,
- 25:34Speaker 3: so you have Gonzales where you have another corner and
- 25:36Speaker 3: a safety and basically just double him and then put
- 25:39Speaker 3: Gonzalez on another receiver and then just say anyone else
- 25:41Speaker 3: beat us, which could open up some opportunities for others.
- 25:45Speaker 3: But I want to turn the other side of the
- 25:47Speaker 3: ball and talk about this dominant Seattle defense. I'm a
- 25:50Speaker 3: Raivens fan, so I get very upset watching the Seahawks
- 25:54Speaker 3: knowing thank you McDonald go. And then somehow you were
- 25:57Speaker 3: able to find the West Coast version of Kyle Hamilton
- 26:01Speaker 3: and even more who just makes that defense unlocks everything
- 26:05Speaker 3: for that defense schematically. But when I look at this
- 26:08Speaker 3: Seattle defense, which was I can't even put into words
- 26:11Speaker 3: how good they were this year. There was basically three
- 26:14Speaker 3: performances that you know they got got and it was
- 26:17Speaker 3: the Baker Mayfield game and then two games against the Rams.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Was is there one area on the defense? You can
- 26:25Speaker 3: take this one of two ways that either A concerned
- 26:28Speaker 3: you a bit or B if this guy like an
- 26:32Speaker 3: underrated piece, if this is hitting, or this is working,
- 26:35Speaker 3: then I'm fully confident in the defense. It also could
- 26:39Speaker 3: just be I think this is maybe a vulnerable area
- 26:42Speaker 3: or a vulnerable guy that sometimes he kind of slips,
- 26:45Speaker 3: and that's what I'm worried about. So curious to get
- 26:46Speaker 3: your thoughts there on a potential holes on the defense.
- 26:49Speaker 8: Well, I tweeted out in the three games against the Rams,
- 26:54Speaker 8: they are averaging twenty eight point three points allowed per
- 26:56Speaker 8: game and over four hundred and sixty yards game to
- 27:00Speaker 8: the three in the three games against the Rams against
- 27:03Speaker 8: everybody else, fifteen points per game, two hundred and sixty
- 27:06Speaker 8: yards per game. And that includes the Bucks game that
- 27:09Speaker 8: you mentioned. And I'm gonna throw that one out because
- 27:11Speaker 8: the Seahawks were down literally half their defens Yeah, so
- 27:15Speaker 8: I am gonna I've kind of disregarded that one all
- 27:18Speaker 8: year as like the Seahawks are elite and I'm gonna
- 27:21Speaker 8: just discard the Bucks game because of course Baker Mayfield
- 27:23Speaker 8: and that's when they were cooking in Tampa. But also, yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 8: the Seahawks, that was their one really bad injury week
- 27:31Speaker 8: and with the Rams, I think I said this last
- 27:34Speaker 8: week on the show, I think that's more of a
- 27:36Speaker 8: Sean McVay Matthew Stafford thing than it is a Seahawks
- 27:40Speaker 8: defense vulnerability thing. I think those two are a Hall
- 27:43Speaker 8: of Fame combo and not that Josh McDaniel and you
- 27:47Speaker 8: know Drake may are are you know, super inferior to that.
- 27:50Speaker 8: But as far as vulnerabilities, they have given up some
- 27:54Speaker 8: some some frustrating plays to tight ends. That's something that
- 27:57Speaker 8: they I think their third or fourth most allowed receiving
- 28:01Speaker 8: yards to tight ends.
- 28:02Speaker 2: This year, So that's one area to look at.
- 28:05Speaker 8: But other than that, if they're healthy and they're not
- 28:07Speaker 8: playing Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay, they've been pretty darn
- 28:11Speaker 8: dominant and Nicki min Worry is the all time just
- 28:16Speaker 8: like Queen on the chess board, the all time antidotes
- 28:19Speaker 8: to any venom that the offense can bring. So if
- 28:23Speaker 8: the Seahawks are healthy and not playing Sean mcvad and
- 28:25Speaker 8: Matthew Stafford, they have been really really hard to beat
- 28:28Speaker 8: and without crazy big holes, I think, yeah, tight end,
- 28:33Speaker 8: they can give up a few third downs that are frustrating.
- 28:37Speaker 8: As long as Riek woal And keeps his mouth shut
- 28:39Speaker 8: on the opposing sidelines, maybe we can avoid that. Again,
- 28:42Speaker 8: I'd like to think that's a very well earned lesson
- 28:46Speaker 8: from Reek Wollen. So I don't see any major deficiencies
- 28:51Speaker 8: in this defense. It's nice that they're pretty good at everything.
- 28:54Speaker 8: They may not the run defense, just think their best feature,
- 28:57Speaker 8: and maybe the pass rush isn't there like huge gaudy
- 29:01Speaker 8: sack numbers, But they're not bad at anything.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and they're not like blitzing a ton, so they
- 29:06Speaker 3: always have so much coverage and disguised and yeah, I
- 29:09Speaker 3: mean when breaking them down, I don't see any weaknesses.
- 29:11Speaker 3: And then you give McDonald two weeks to prepare. It's
- 29:15Speaker 3: a scary thought. The only thing that I did you
- 29:17Speaker 3: know that the tight ends I targeted some hunter Henry props.
- 29:20Speaker 3: I do think part of that is the Seahawks let
- 29:23Speaker 3: that happen, right, Like they kind of okay, you can
- 29:25Speaker 3: get your small completions to tight ends. We're gonna make
- 29:28Speaker 3: you work all the way down the field and not
- 29:31Speaker 3: give up any explosives. So I think part of that
- 29:34Speaker 3: is like they're funneling some stuff to tight ends and
- 29:37Speaker 3: Henry might be able to capitalize. But the only thing,
- 29:40Speaker 3: you know, I tried to find holes in this defense,
- 29:42Speaker 3: and the only thing I could find is you go
- 29:43Speaker 3: to the Rams game. It's just and this will beat
- 29:45Speaker 3: any elite defense. It's just completely elite play calling and
- 29:49Speaker 3: an elite quarterback play like just Stafford has to make
- 29:52Speaker 3: crazy throws and that's what May's gonna have to do
- 29:55Speaker 3: in order to consistently move the ball and he's gonna
- 29:57Speaker 3: have to do it over and over again without making
- 29:59Speaker 3: mistake against the defense that can score on its own.
- 30:02Speaker 3: So yeah, it's uh, I'm jealous that you got to
- 30:04Speaker 3: watch them all year and get to watch them one
- 30:06Speaker 3: more time.
- 30:07Speaker 8: Yeah, and it's one of those where the Seahawks are
- 30:10Speaker 8: really good at just making you go down the field,
- 30:12Speaker 8: like you said, and they're not They do not give
- 30:15Speaker 8: up explosive plays and if you can, if you can
- 30:17Speaker 8: mount a fourteen to fifteen play touchdown drive, just tip
- 30:20Speaker 8: your hat like that's that's what the Seahawks can do
- 30:22Speaker 8: in the red zone.
- 30:23Speaker 2: They're really tighten up in the red zone.
- 30:25Speaker 8: So yeah, thank you for Mike McDonald and in Baltimore
- 30:28Speaker 8: because we are extremely happy to have him.
- 30:31Speaker 3: And no, no take back seats. One year or too late,
- 30:34Speaker 3: he could have been our head. I mean this has
- 30:37Speaker 3: all happened last year. He would have been the head
- 30:39Speaker 3: coach of the Ravens, and we would have been in
- 30:41Speaker 3: good shape for years, but sometimes it's the way it breaks.
- 30:45Speaker 1: It would have been a phenomenal candidate for you guys
- 30:47Speaker 1: with the with the vacancy, but yeah, unfortunately didn't break
- 30:51Speaker 1: that way. You mentioned Stucky the vulnerabilities, and there are
- 30:55Speaker 1: not many of them. Seattle really good against running backs
- 30:57Speaker 1: three and a half yards per carry, that's first in
- 30:59Speaker 1: the NFL. But they have been giving up rushing yards
- 31:02Speaker 1: to quarterbacks and that is something that Drake May can do.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Five yards per carry, that's twenty ninth in the NFL.
- 31:09Speaker 1: If you are advising those that were looking into the
- 31:11Speaker 1: props market, do you think that perhaps looking the way
- 31:14Speaker 1: of Drake May rushing shoulder injury, Seattle giving up rushing
- 31:18Speaker 1: yards to quarterbacks that we're talking about that funnel of
- 31:21Speaker 1: what they'll let you do. Could that be one of
- 31:24Speaker 1: those things that Seattle's okay if Drake May tries to
- 31:27Speaker 1: win this game by himself.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that that's fair.
- 31:31Speaker 8: They've faced a few mobile quarterbacks this year. One I
- 31:35Speaker 8: know that I consider Drake May on a different plane
- 31:38Speaker 8: than Kyle Murray. But the Seahawks have been done a
- 31:42Speaker 8: really good job containing Kyler Murray when Murray was healthy.
- 31:46Speaker 8: So I know they're obviously a different player, but so
- 31:49Speaker 8: Kyler Murray's one that they they did a pretty good
- 31:51Speaker 8: job of maintaining in the pocket, and the one that
- 31:55Speaker 8: really gave him fits actually is cam Ward. Cam Ward
- 31:58Speaker 8: played a fantastic game against the Seahawks, and so maybe
- 32:02Speaker 8: that's some something of a blueprint that the Patriots can
- 32:05Speaker 8: work with. And again, probably different players profile wise with
- 32:09Speaker 8: May and cam Ward, but that was one of the
- 32:13Speaker 8: angriest games I've been.
- 32:14Speaker 2: After a Seahawks win. Like god, I mean, it's the
- 32:17Speaker 2: Titans come on and.
- 32:19Speaker 4: The Wars cover credit.
- 32:21Speaker 6: Yeah they did, Yeah, they did help.
- 32:23Speaker 2: He's going to be the Titans might be a problem
- 32:25Speaker 2: very soon with with his talent.
- 32:27Speaker 8: But yeah, that's something again like stuck you mentioned that
- 32:32Speaker 8: might be something the Seahawks are okay with, Like, all right,
- 32:34Speaker 8: that is the only way that you can beat us,
- 32:36Speaker 8: and I we're going to bet on Drake May not
- 32:39Speaker 8: being able to do that for a full four quarters
- 32:41Speaker 8: is what Mike McDonald and the defense might be saying.
- 32:43Speaker 1: That number is sitting at thirty seven and a half.
- 32:45Speaker 1: By the way, as far as the rushing prop. If
- 32:47Speaker 1: you want to take the over on May, it has
- 32:48Speaker 1: been it's open to twenty nine and a half. So
- 32:51Speaker 1: just know that at the moment if you bet into it,
- 32:53Speaker 1: you're not getting the best of the number. But it
- 32:55Speaker 1: still could be an angle given what Seattle is going
- 32:58Speaker 1: to let them do.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Go ahead, Kendra, I was gonna say the number hasn't
- 33:00Speaker 5: moved since Tuesday either, which I think maybe means it's
- 33:03Speaker 5: probably going to stay there. I feel like people it's
- 33:06Speaker 5: beating a dead horse to say whoever wins the turnover
- 33:08Speaker 5: battle is going to win this game. But I'm very
- 33:10Speaker 5: much in the camp that there will be an interception
- 33:12Speaker 5: thrown in this game Drake May. Obviously it had more
- 33:15Speaker 5: of a fumbling problem in the postseason this year. But
- 33:17Speaker 5: we all know Sam Darnald the meme of him seeing ghosts.
- 33:20Speaker 5: I asked our Patriots guest Alex Borth earlier this week
- 33:23Speaker 5: who he thinks is more likely to throw an interception
- 33:25Speaker 5: in this game. So currently Sam Darnald minus won thirty
- 33:28Speaker 5: six to throw a pick May minus one forty four.
- 33:31Speaker 5: What do you think about those numbers? And who do
- 33:32Speaker 5: you think it's more likely to turn the ball over?
- 33:35Speaker 6: In this game.
- 33:35Speaker 8: Interception wise, I could see scenario we're both do I
- 33:39Speaker 8: know that's not the answer that everyone wants to hear.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, the stigma was Sam Darnald is the turnovers.
- 33:46Speaker 8: However, Seahawks have not turned it over in three straight
- 33:49Speaker 8: games and three straight very important games. The game going
- 33:54Speaker 8: back to the first game against the Niners, that the
- 33:57Speaker 8: battle against the number one or I should say second
- 33:59Speaker 8: game of the regular he's in week eighteen game going
- 34:02Speaker 8: back from there to the two playoff games, the Seahawks
- 34:04Speaker 8: have gone turnover free. So Sam Donald played one of
- 34:08Speaker 8: the games of his life, the game of his life
- 34:10Speaker 8: in the championship game. So, and the Seahawks defense certainly
- 34:16Speaker 8: is you know, bloodthirsty. They got they are, they are
- 34:20Speaker 8: just rearing for for turnovers. So I would probably say,
- 34:24Speaker 8: if I had to pick one, you know, force you know,
- 34:27Speaker 8: twist in my arm.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Drake may just because of the matchups with the defense.
- 34:33Speaker 8: But I could see a scenario if there I don't know,
- 34:35Speaker 8: if there's a prop for both quarterbacks throwing at least
- 34:37Speaker 8: one that one, Yeah, I would certainly go with that one,
- 34:41Speaker 8: because both defenses do have you know, talent abound, and
- 34:46Speaker 8: so I would go with both of them maybe, but
- 34:51Speaker 8: if I had to pick one, I just like the
- 34:53Speaker 8: matchup with the Seahawks defense against Drake made just a
- 34:55Speaker 8: touch better, especially with how Sam Donald's played lately.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Plus one ninety the price on that. By the way,
- 35:00Speaker 4: if you want to parlay the two.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Yeah, Going going back to the rushing property, it's one
- 35:06Speaker 3: of the most fascinating. This is up every super role,
- 35:08Speaker 3: but especially this one with MacDonald. Like what it were
- 35:11Speaker 3: two weeks. What is he going to say he wants
- 35:14Speaker 3: to take away at the Patriots? Like maybe he says,
- 35:17Speaker 3: you know, I know, Hunter Henry's their second option. I'm
- 35:19Speaker 3: gonna make sure we take him away because I don't
- 35:21Speaker 3: trust other receivers. What's the man's own split. I can't
- 35:25Speaker 3: wait for all of that stuff. But let me ask
- 35:29Speaker 3: you this, going back to Sam Donald as a Seahawks fan,
- 35:32Speaker 3: has he won you completely over or do you still
- 35:38Speaker 3: kind of sit anxiously being like, all right, Sam, don't
- 35:42Speaker 3: turn it over this drive? And are you still a
- 35:44Speaker 3: little worried in the back of your head?
- 35:46Speaker 8: Admittedly throughout the season when Sam Donald just as a
- 35:50Speaker 8: straight back, you know, drop back past, there's a little
- 35:52Speaker 8: bit of pucker.
- 35:54Speaker 4: Here.
- 35:55Speaker 7: We go.
- 35:56Speaker 8: But that's uh that has gone away, I will say
- 36:00Speaker 8: for me, and I can't speak for every fan. Every
- 36:02Speaker 8: fan is a little different, of course, But the game
- 36:04Speaker 8: against the Rams he had. I mean, if, like I
- 36:06Speaker 8: said last week on our show, like if there was
- 36:09Speaker 8: a game where he was gonna melt down, it's a game.
- 36:11Speaker 8: It was a game against the Rams, a team that's
- 36:12Speaker 8: had his number, and in the brightest lights you can
- 36:15Speaker 8: pretty much get in the NFSC championship game in your
- 36:18Speaker 8: home building, it is an absolute electric atmosphere. Rams are
- 36:22Speaker 8: pretty talented defense. And he stared that right in the
- 36:24Speaker 8: eyes and said, it's my turn.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And so he's won us over. I think in Seattle
- 36:30Speaker 2: and I think nationally, I think the narrative has changed
- 36:32Speaker 2: a little bit after that game.
- 36:34Speaker 8: Now he's never really like I've always called him a
- 36:38Speaker 8: breath of fresh air since he's come here, because there
- 36:41Speaker 8: are some things with Gino Smith where it's like, you know,
- 36:43Speaker 8: how well liked is he in the locker room, you know,
- 36:47Speaker 8: and with the media relationship.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Sam Donald in an absolute boy scout the entire time.
- 36:52Speaker 8: He is such a guys guy. He's such a great teammate.
- 36:57Speaker 8: He considers himself one of the guys. He doesn't ask
- 36:59Speaker 8: for his own office or anything like that. He is
- 37:02Speaker 8: just one of the football players in the locker room.
- 37:04Speaker 8: That's how he views himself. He is very humble. Guys
- 37:06Speaker 8: play hard for Sam Jarnald and both sides of the ball.
- 37:09Speaker 8: You saw Ernest Jones going to bats with an expletive
- 37:12Speaker 8: filled rant after the Rams loss and then doubling down
- 37:16Speaker 8: on it when they beat the Rams last week.
- 37:18Speaker 2: That this team believes in Sam Jarnald, and I think
- 37:20Speaker 2: that's really all that matters.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Yeah, the one thing I don't know much, But the
- 37:23Speaker 3: one thing I do know one game social media. If
- 37:27Speaker 3: the Patriots win, Sam Donald was seeing ghosts will never
- 37:30Speaker 3: get it done. If the Seahawks win, Drake May is
- 37:33Speaker 3: a schedule merchant. That's just how it works. But one
- 37:36Speaker 3: final question for me as a Seahawks fan, maybe you're
- 37:40Speaker 3: the type of fan that always thinks that you're going
- 37:44Speaker 3: to win the Super Bowl. Maybe a build up over
- 37:47Speaker 3: the course of the year or maybe that was there
- 37:49Speaker 3: one moment or one game, So how you started to
- 37:52Speaker 3: finally believe like, all right, this team can win the
- 37:55Speaker 3: Super Bowl and I think they're going to do it.
- 37:57Speaker 3: So is there was there one moment did it? Bill?
- 38:00Speaker 3: Did you believe going into the season, curious like how
- 38:02Speaker 3: that worked out for you in your mind?
- 38:04Speaker 8: Oh, stayed and bounce now. But you know, as far
- 38:10Speaker 8: as like that moment, we're like, oh, this team's pretty good.
- 38:14Speaker 8: Is I think the second matchup against the Ram I
- 38:18Speaker 8: mean how I when I saw the defensively their game
- 38:22Speaker 8: against the Vikings. Yes, it was Max Brosmer, but that
- 38:25Speaker 8: was just like I felt so bad for him, Like
- 38:28Speaker 8: it was that bad for as a Seahawks fan, We're
- 38:31Speaker 8: all like, oh, Max, I'm so sorry. But but that
- 38:36Speaker 8: was also a deep So that was the click for
- 38:38Speaker 8: me of like this defense is super Bowl worthy. And
- 38:42Speaker 8: then going to a couple of weeks later when they
- 38:44Speaker 8: faced the Rams on Thursday Night football, and yeah, the
- 38:47Speaker 8: defense didn't have a great night, but now all of
- 38:48Speaker 8: a sudden, the offense is matching blow for blow. With
- 38:51Speaker 8: Sean McVay, I'm watching them, the defense get a couple,
- 38:54Speaker 8: you know, really really good games and shut out the Vikings,
- 38:56Speaker 8: and then all of a sudden, you can match the
- 38:58Speaker 8: Rams blow for blow. After that game, that was when
- 39:01Speaker 8: it all dawned on the whole city, like, oh we
- 39:03Speaker 8: can like win the division, we can like get the
- 39:07Speaker 8: number one seed. I don't think it really sank in
- 39:09Speaker 8: for the whole city until they had beaten the Rams
- 39:11Speaker 8: on Thursday Night Football and all, like you know, the
- 39:14Speaker 8: playoff machines and all.
- 39:15Speaker 2: The standings, like, oh wait, yeah, we can win the
- 39:17Speaker 2: one with the one seed. That's pretty cool.
- 39:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 2: That game was really what solidified it for me.
- 39:23Speaker 3: If there's a Super Bowl video, that two point conversion
- 39:25Speaker 3: should be the first play because, I mean, think about
- 39:27Speaker 3: how massive that one sends the Rams out all across
- 39:30Speaker 3: the country. Seal's get to buy cakewalk over the forty
- 39:34Speaker 3: nine Ers play the NFC Championship at home and get
- 39:37Speaker 3: to the Super Bowl. That that play changed the entire
- 39:41Speaker 3: complexion of the NFL and probably the game of the year.
- 39:44Speaker 2: I gotta say, the weirdest things happen in that end zone.
- 39:48Speaker 8: I believe that's the same end zone of the fail
- 39:50Speaker 8: mary in twenty twelve against the Packers, the same in
- 39:52Speaker 8: zone as the tip against the forty nine ers and
- 39:55Speaker 8: twenty thirteen with Richard Sherman. Some very strange things happen
- 40:00Speaker 8: in that end zone.
- 40:02Speaker 1: See, this is the kind of stuff you don't know,
- 40:04Speaker 1: You don't know this stuff until you talk to the fans.
- 40:06Speaker 1: That's that is, that's next level information. Nick A, thanks
- 40:11Speaker 1: again for coming on quick rapid fire before we let
- 40:16Speaker 1: you go. Scenario here, minute thirty left Seahawks up by
- 40:20Speaker 1: four Patriots with the ball from their own thirty with
- 40:24Speaker 1: two timeouts.
- 40:26Speaker 4: How much do you like your chances.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Better than fifty to fifty? I do.
- 40:31Speaker 4: I like that.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Are up by four, Patriots, have the ball.
- 40:34Speaker 1: The Yaks are up by four ninety seconds left on
- 40:36Speaker 1: the clock. They got a couple of timeouts, but they've
- 40:38Speaker 1: got to go seventy yards, got to get on the
- 40:40Speaker 1: end zone. Field go won't do it.
- 40:42Speaker 8: I like the field goal won't do a thing, very
- 40:44Speaker 8: similar to the Rams situation, because the Seahawks really really
- 40:48Speaker 8: buckled down and you know, and yeah, the Rams got
- 40:54Speaker 8: yards and got points, but when it really counted, when
- 40:56Speaker 8: it really counted all year, this defense has got it done.
- 41:00Speaker 1: So I like my chances there as a JSN Stan
- 41:03Speaker 1: I've got him in a dynasty league. He's right now
- 41:06Speaker 1: my favorite player to watch in the NFL. I imagine
- 41:09Speaker 1: that there are just JSN jerseys littered all over the
- 41:13Speaker 1: city of Seattle. If he were to go off in
- 41:16Speaker 1: this game, win Super Bowl MVP? Does that put him
- 41:21Speaker 1: on the Mount Rushmore of Seattle greats? So I came
- 41:25Speaker 1: up with the list, you knock any of these off?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Ken Griffy Junior, Marshawn Lynch, Steve Largent, Gary Payton. Would
- 41:32Speaker 1: it do anything to that list?
- 41:34Speaker 4: Oh?
- 41:35Speaker 2: After winning the Super Bowl MVP?
- 41:37Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 41:38Speaker 8: Ooo? That is that that that can get dangerous for
- 41:41Speaker 8: me back home if I start, if I start messing
- 41:43Speaker 8: with that list.
- 41:46Speaker 2: To to I mean, how many of those guys won titles?
- 41:49Speaker 2: I mean Marshall Lynch.
- 41:50Speaker 8: I think marsh On Lynch is fairly untouchable just because
- 41:54Speaker 8: won the Super Bowl, beast mode and just everything he is.
- 41:57Speaker 6: He's just a track he does for the community.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Yes, he's an absolute treasure.
- 42:01Speaker 8: I mean if he's a guy that if I could
- 42:03Speaker 8: pay to like hug somebody, I would Marshon Lynch would
- 42:07Speaker 8: be up in my list of people I.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Would love to just hug somehow.
- 42:10Speaker 4: How much would you on that just curious ballpark figure?
- 42:17Speaker 2: We could, we could, we can flirt with a hundred bucks.
- 42:19Speaker 8: I'm I'm a I'm a meager state government worker, so
- 42:22Speaker 8: I don't exactly roll on the dough.
- 42:24Speaker 2: I probably wouldn't mess with that with that list for now,
- 42:28Speaker 2: with one title and super Bowl MVP.
- 42:30Speaker 8: Now he's on a trajectory with probably winning Offensive Player
- 42:34Speaker 8: of the Year. Now you can now we're talking super
- 42:36Speaker 8: Bowl MVP in the resume. I can absolutely see a
- 42:39Speaker 8: scenario where when all of a sudden done, he is
- 42:42Speaker 8: on Seattle Mount Rushmore. But I think with how young
- 42:45Speaker 8: he is, which is crazy we're even having this conversation,
- 42:49Speaker 8: I think we're not quite there, just because those are
- 42:51Speaker 8: some absolute legends and I don't want the pitchforks pointed
- 42:54Speaker 8: in my direction.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Over here.
- 42:57Speaker 1: So not quite Well, something less divisive. What are your
- 43:01Speaker 1: plans for the Super Bowl?
- 43:04Speaker 8: Well, actually, that's that's fun. I have my brother in
- 43:07Speaker 8: law lives in Wales and is a big Seahawks fan.
- 43:10Speaker 8: He's from here and he is flying out to watch
- 43:15Speaker 8: the game with us. So he's going from Wales to
- 43:18Speaker 8: London to Seattle and watching the game at our house
- 43:21Speaker 8: and so that's a treat for me. So it's a
- 43:24Speaker 8: long flight, but it's it's really fun to It's gonna
- 43:26Speaker 8: be really fun to see him. He's a big Seahawks fan,
- 43:28Speaker 8: so we're gonna we just finished our basement in our house.
- 43:31Speaker 8: So we're gonna have a whole man cave super Bowl party.
- 43:33Speaker 8: So I'm really looking forward to that. So what a
- 43:35Speaker 8: what a super Bowl to uh, to start that era
- 43:38Speaker 8: of our house here with with the Seahawks, and it's
- 43:41Speaker 8: in my brother in law coming from Wales. So and
- 43:43Speaker 8: of course what we always do is we do a
- 43:46Speaker 8: themed foods from each of the Super Bowl participants.
- 43:49Speaker 2: That's always been a tradition at my house. So this
- 43:52Speaker 2: is Who's clam chowder is the best? Maybe I don't
- 43:55Speaker 2: know ivers clam chowder over here.
- 43:59Speaker 8: I've had New England clomb chatter. It's fantastic. But yeah,
- 44:02Speaker 8: so just a lot of fun and somehow I love that.
- 44:06Speaker 6: I don't, oh, go ahead, stuck.
- 44:08Speaker 3: No, I was just gonna say, got reaction.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 44:10Speaker 3: You don't know the teams who won. But if you
- 44:13Speaker 3: slept through the Super Bowl and you woke up and
- 44:16Speaker 3: I told you the final score was either thirty eight
- 44:18Speaker 3: thirty five or ten to seven, which one would shock.
- 44:22Speaker 8: You more.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Thirty eight thirty five.
- 44:25Speaker 8: I was coming here prepared to say, I think this
- 44:29Speaker 8: is going to be a fairly low scoring game, just
- 44:30Speaker 8: because the Patriots seemed to have found their stride. Defensively,
- 44:33Speaker 8: the Seahawks are one of the best defenses in the league,
- 44:37Speaker 8: so I could see this being a filling out field
- 44:39Speaker 8: position kind of battle. So lower scoring ten to seven
- 44:42Speaker 8: might be a little extreme. I hope there's no blizzards
- 44:44Speaker 8: in Santa Clara, but lower scoring I think yeah, I
- 44:47Speaker 8: would agree.
- 44:48Speaker 5: Good final question from me. I am a huge Bad
- 44:52Speaker 5: Bunny fan. Are you excited for the halftime show? And
- 44:54Speaker 5: if you are, do you have a favorite Bad Bunny song? Oh?
- 44:57Speaker 8: I do like Bad Bunny. I thought him and Happy
- 44:59Speaker 8: Gilmore two. It was absolutely hilarious. By the way, I
- 45:02Speaker 8: think that he like stole the show a little bit.
- 45:04Speaker 2: I must have made it.
- 45:05Speaker 8: I'm not like I don't know all of his his
- 45:07Speaker 8: set lists, so to speak, but I think Yeah is
- 45:13Speaker 8: a really good one.
- 45:14Speaker 4: I just like that.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I love the top rope with that one. Nick, I
- 45:16Speaker 1: don't know it's setless. Let me just speak Spanish real quick.
- 45:21Speaker 2: That's another thing I do.
- 45:22Speaker 8: I influence in Spanish, so uh so I try to
- 45:25Speaker 8: part of how I keep it up as I listen
- 45:26Speaker 8: to to Spanish music. So I don't have all the
- 45:29Speaker 8: song's memories, but TMT Priganto is a really good one
- 45:32Speaker 8: his goal.
- 45:34Speaker 5: Listen to just his most recent album on Spotify and
- 45:37Speaker 5: you'll be good to go.
- 45:38Speaker 6: It's so good.
- 45:40Speaker 5: I'm obsessed with him and I'm so excited. I just
- 45:42Speaker 5: I'm more excited about the halftime show, which is insane
- 45:44Speaker 5: to say because I'm such a football girl, but I
- 45:47Speaker 5: love him.
- 45:49Speaker 8: Looking forward to too, and a green Day too. At
- 45:51Speaker 8: the beginning, that's that's my that's my era. So I'm
- 45:53Speaker 8: looking forward to some Green Day.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I didn't even know that.
