- 0:26Speaker 1: larsenome Services is Andrew Larson. Andrew, how you doing this week?
- 0:30Speaker 2: You know, I'm always doing fantastic. I do know that,
- 0:33Speaker 2: and I like that. I don't even know what else
- 0:36Speaker 2: to say. It's a great day, it's fall. Yeah, the
- 0:40Speaker 2: Badgers one, the Packers one. You know, I loved it
- 0:45Speaker 2: when you said Larson with an oh yo, you got
- 0:50Speaker 2: you got very Wisconsin Aska on that one.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no mistaken, there's no mistaking.
- 0:56Speaker 2: No, not at all. I was just up. I was
- 0:59Speaker 2: up in Canada to fishing a couple of weeks ago. Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 2: And the lady is like, hey, where are you from?
- 1:04Speaker 2: I said Wisconsin. She's like, oh, little Canada. Yeah, we
- 1:08Speaker 2: like you guys. You sound just like us. We do.
- 1:11Speaker 1: It's funny too, because you know, we all kind of
- 1:14Speaker 1: have this. In the further north, it gets a little thicker.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I know, my wife is from Spooner, you're from the
- 1:19Speaker 1: Baldwin area originally, and you start getting up that way,
- 1:22Speaker 1: it gets a little bit more and a little bit more,
- 1:24Speaker 1: and it's a very comfortable accent as well. And you know, Andrew,
- 1:28Speaker 1: we started this conversation off you mentioned of course you're
- 1:30Speaker 1: always always happy and always in a good mood. And
- 1:33Speaker 1: I think part of it has to do with what
- 1:34Speaker 1: we're going to talk about, which is really solving problems
- 1:38Speaker 1: and significant problems, which are gutters. And people don't always
- 1:41Speaker 1: realize this about all the different jobs that gutters do
- 1:46Speaker 1: for your home. But also people don't always think about
- 1:49Speaker 1: the safety concerns about about you know, climbing on ladders
- 1:52Speaker 1: and those things. These are real dangers and you are
- 1:54Speaker 1: able to each and every day at Larstom Services remove
- 1:57Speaker 1: that danger, remove that issue of gut problems, because you
- 2:01Speaker 1: guys do a lot of fantastic gutter specifically gutter shutter
- 2:05Speaker 1: as well with Larslom Services. Let's talk a little bit
- 2:07Speaker 1: about gutters this morning, Andrew.
- 2:09Speaker 2: We do. We do a lot of them. Yes, you know,
- 2:11Speaker 2: gutters are one of my favorite things. I never thought
- 2:13Speaker 2: growing up that I would be like the gutter guy, right.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I think I told you the story about my daughters
- 2:18Speaker 2: and her friends being like, oh, we want to be
- 2:19Speaker 2: on your commercials. You can call us the gutter girl.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm not going to do that. But it was innocent, right,
- 2:27Speaker 2: But you know, and I don't like to scare people
- 2:29Speaker 2: about ladder safety ladder accidents, but you know, about three
- 2:33Speaker 2: years ago, I was in a pretty bad snowboarding accident.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I busted my leg up, real bad acl MCL broken
- 2:39Speaker 2: tibia all in one full swoop. I mean, this tree
- 2:41Speaker 2: jumped out of nowhere and when I hit it, it
- 2:44Speaker 2: didn't move. So yeah, but I'm at the doctor and
- 2:47Speaker 2: we're talking and he asked me what I do and
- 2:51Speaker 2: I tell him who I am, and he goes, oh,
- 2:53Speaker 2: my gosh, I listened to your radio show every week.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I was like, wow, people listen. That's cool. And we
- 3:02Speaker 2: started talking about it and he goes, you know what you
- 3:04Speaker 2: should do? He goes, you should have me on the show. Well.
- 3:07Speaker 2: He is an orthopedic surgeon. Specializing in obviously broken bones,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and he goes, he goes people cleaning their gutters. He goes,
- 3:16Speaker 2: specifically in the fall time. He goes, I am so
- 3:20Speaker 2: busy from ladder falls, from people cleaning their gutters, and
- 3:24Speaker 2: hunters falling out of tree stands. But he said, the
- 3:29Speaker 2: overwhelming majority of my surgeries in the fall and into
- 3:33Speaker 2: the winter are from people cleaning out their gutters. And
- 3:36Speaker 2: I said, for real, He just looks at me. He goes,
- 3:38Speaker 2: absolutely broken ankles, broken wrists, broken, show you name it.
- 3:42Speaker 2: He said, so many people take these ladders out. These
- 3:45Speaker 2: ladders aren't safe. They haven't used him in years. I mean,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I've seen people pull out wood ladders that were probably
- 3:50Speaker 2: whittled by somebody sitting on the porch in the nineteen twenties,
- 3:54Speaker 2: and I'm like, you're gonna get on that. But to them,
- 3:58Speaker 2: you know whatever, it's a ladder. I'm going to clean
- 3:59Speaker 2: the gut. So the safety. Listen, how good it is
- 4:05Speaker 2: for your home to have a great gutter system that's
- 4:07Speaker 2: maintenance free, that gets the water away, that protects your
- 4:11Speaker 2: foundation is extremely important. But to have a system like
- 4:15Speaker 2: gutter shutter that's never going to clog, it's never going
- 4:18Speaker 2: to overflow. Bottom line is you don't have to worry
- 4:21Speaker 2: about it. Now. It brings into a safety aspect. You're
- 4:25Speaker 2: not getting up on that ladder because here's the deal.
- 4:30Speaker 2: You can think you can do it, but if you're
- 4:32Speaker 2: sitting behind a desk most of the day, or let's
- 4:35Speaker 2: just say you're not doing contractor or construction work, working
- 4:40Speaker 2: on a ladder on a regular basis, there are very
- 4:43Speaker 2: specific safety things that we teach over and over and over.
- 4:48Speaker 2: How the ladder goes up, how far above the roofline
- 4:51Speaker 2: the ladder goes at, what angle those ladder legs are
- 4:55Speaker 2: down on the ground so the ladder doesn't fall backwards
- 4:57Speaker 2: from the top or slip out from the bottom. This
- 5:00Speaker 2: is what normally happens to people because they're not used
- 5:03Speaker 2: to doing it. This is literally something we train on
- 5:06Speaker 2: on a weekly basis is ladder safety, ladder safety, ladder safety.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Going through every single ladder in our inventory, which I
- 5:14Speaker 2: will tell you there's over three hundred ladders at Mushem Services,
- 5:19Speaker 2: going through those ladders on a weekly basis to see
- 5:22Speaker 2: if anything is cracked, broke, not working properly, because if
- 5:28Speaker 2: it is, we take it out, it's out of service. Immediately,
- 5:32Speaker 2: so homeowners aren't doing that. And even though they might
- 5:36Speaker 2: not use the ladder that much, over time, things happen,
- 5:38Speaker 2: things where things corrode, maybe you've dropped it something, and
- 5:41Speaker 2: now you're getting up there, you could be you could
- 5:44Speaker 2: only be five feet off the ground with your feet.
- 5:47Speaker 2: If it's first story, most likely your feet are probably
- 5:49Speaker 2: only five or six feet off the ground. That's where
- 5:52Speaker 2: we that's where people see the most falls, the most injuries,
- 5:56Speaker 2: because when it's first story, we're less careful. I'm not
- 6:02Speaker 2: that far up. But if you fall off a ladder
- 6:04Speaker 2: from six feet and your feet get tangled in the ladder,
- 6:07Speaker 2: or you hit the ground wrong, hit a rock, snap
- 6:10Speaker 2: your ankle, like, bad things happen. We don't hear about
- 6:13Speaker 2: a lot of injuries from people falling from second story
- 6:16Speaker 2: because they don't get injured. Unfortunately, they usually die. Yeah right,
- 6:22Speaker 2: and I don't even want to say that, but that's
- 6:24Speaker 2: usually what happens. If you're falling from fifteen feet and
- 6:26Speaker 2: you fall onto concrete or you fall onto your rocks
- 6:29Speaker 2: and your landscaping or something like, you usually don't make it.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And unfortunately, me being in this industry for yeah, like
- 6:37Speaker 2: twenty five years now. I know a handful of people
- 6:41Speaker 2: that had family members die from them cleaning their gutters,
- 6:43Speaker 2: So we talk about the safety aspect. It's extremely important
- 6:47Speaker 2: to think about the safety aspect. So when you're only
- 6:51Speaker 2: considering the cost, I mean, what's the cost of an injury,
- 6:55Speaker 2: a surgery being out like it's there's no cost you
- 6:59Speaker 2: can put on it. Now, you take the fact that
- 7:02Speaker 2: it makes your home look beautiful. Gutter shutter is a
- 7:05Speaker 2: full five and a half inch back on it, five
- 7:09Speaker 2: and a half yep. So if your FACI is old,
- 7:11Speaker 2: if your fac is dirty, if it's not looking the best,
- 7:13Speaker 2: if it's wood and maybe it's chipping a little, our
- 7:17Speaker 2: gutters are going to cover it. We're going to cover
- 7:19Speaker 2: ninety percent of your facial So it's going to give
- 7:21Speaker 2: your home a brand new, beautiful, clean look, all while
- 7:24Speaker 2: giving you a gutter system that takes the water from
- 7:27Speaker 2: the roof down the down spout away from the house
- 7:29Speaker 2: and you really never have to think about it ever again.
- 7:33Speaker 2: And that's why I love it when people get this
- 7:36Speaker 2: put on, and I love it when my sales reps
- 7:38Speaker 2: stop back at people's houses then have it, because it's
- 7:41Speaker 2: always great things that they have to say about what
- 7:45Speaker 2: they did.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It's amazing to me too, is you know, we talk
- 7:47Speaker 1: about the benefits of gutter shutter and you know, not
- 7:50Speaker 1: having to maintain you know, don't have to worry about
- 7:52Speaker 1: cleaning gutters. You have to worry about clog, you have
- 7:54Speaker 1: to worry about all that stuff. And those are and
- 7:56Speaker 1: they look great as well. And those are obviously the
- 7:59Speaker 1: very tans. And you mentioned it here and I remember
- 8:01Speaker 1: it's probably about fifteen ten, fifteen years ago the first
- 8:04Speaker 1: time you had mentioned it, and it really sunk in
- 8:07Speaker 1: when you talked about injuries specifically where people are getting hurt,
- 8:10Speaker 1: which is the first story stuff. And you know, I've
- 8:13Speaker 1: got like a ranch home or a lot of us,
- 8:15Speaker 1: a lot of us guys go, oh, it's not that high,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and that's where the accidents happen. That's where the mistakes
- 8:20Speaker 1: are happening. That's where the injuries are happening. So for
- 8:22Speaker 1: folks that are are looking, you know, whether it's you
- 8:25Speaker 1: or maybe your significant other, you're going get them off
- 8:28Speaker 1: the ladder. What a great day to give them a
- 8:29Speaker 1: call at Larsenalal Services, have them come out, take a
- 8:32Speaker 1: look at your house, take a look at your gutters.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Help you with a resolution, something you'll never have to
- 8:36Speaker 1: worry about. Talk about the Packers, talk about the Badgers
- 8:38Speaker 1: off to great starts this season. You don't want to
- 8:41Speaker 1: miss a Packer Sunday. You don't want to miss another
- 8:43Speaker 1: Badger game. Up on the ladder. Get into a Larsenal Services.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Give them a call right now. Six oh eight five

- 9:00Speaker 1: Also follow them on Facebook, and Andrew, I know, just
- 9:02Speaker 1: real quick about your Facebook your YouTube channel as well.
- 9:05Speaker 1: You guys do put quite a lot of great content.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And you're pretty frequent about about updating stuff as well, there,
- 9:11Speaker 1: aren't you.
- 9:12Speaker 2: It's a focus, yeah, right, we're always trying to update
- 9:15Speaker 2: with job videos, job site photos. You know there's some
- 9:20Speaker 2: there's some funny posts. Yes, the most recently one I
- 9:24Speaker 2: was like, oh man, but go check it out. But yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I also one last thing I want to finish on
- 9:31Speaker 2: is that I talked last week about procrastinating and don't wait,
- 9:34Speaker 2: don't wait, and you know, typically there's one time a
- 9:37Speaker 2: year that we want we run free installation labor or
- 9:40Speaker 2: one hundred percent off installation labor, and that's during trade
- 9:43Speaker 2: shows in the winter because obviously we're less busy. We're
- 9:46Speaker 2: not less busy right now. But for people listening to
- 9:49Speaker 2: the show, I'm going to extend that free installation labor.
- 9:53Speaker 2: When you call in for an estimate, just say you
- 9:55Speaker 2: heard it on the show, and they'll make sure to
- 9:58Speaker 2: put that in the notes for the estimator when they come.
- 10:00Speaker 2: So if you're listening to the show, you're thinking about it, listen.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It doesn't hurt to get a free estimate. I mean,
- 10:06Speaker 2: obviously we want you to buy from us, and we
- 10:08Speaker 2: hope that you do. Yeah, but you know, if you
- 10:10Speaker 2: if we come out and give you an estimate and
- 10:12Speaker 2: you buy that day, great, If you buy it in
- 10:13Speaker 2: the week, great, If you don't buy at all, it
- 10:15Speaker 2: is what it is. At least you know now you've
- 10:17Speaker 2: seen it up close, you can feel it, touch it,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and you know exactly what it would cost to put
- 10:22Speaker 2: on your house.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And that's such a cool thing. You mentioned that free
- 10:24Speaker 1: installation labor, make sure you mention when you bring them
- 10:27Speaker 1: out from Lars Storm Services. A great day. It's not
- 10:28Speaker 1: going to cause anything to have them take a look
- 10:30Speaker 1: at your house, show you a little bit more, educate
- 10:32Speaker 1: you about gutter shutter and how they can help you
