- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to the almost same As podcasts. I
- 0:08Speaker 2: am back with Trista and Daisy Kent is now joining
- 0:11Speaker 2: us to break down this week's headlines. Yay, thanks for
- 0:16Speaker 2: having me. Thanks so, Trista, You and Ryan are on
- 0:20Speaker 2: the cover of People magazine this week celebrating your anniversary.
- 0:24Speaker 2: It's been twenty two years. Why like the twenty two mark?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Are they where anniversary in cover?
- 0:32Speaker 3: So we literally shot this. If you see Ryan's hair,
- 0:36Speaker 3: like if you've seen me post about him in the
- 0:38Speaker 3: last couple of weeks, he.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Has a lot more hair than he does on the cover.
- 0:42Speaker 3: We shot the cover I think in November or maybe
- 0:45Speaker 3: even October.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Are they waiting for a week of the year. They
- 0:47Speaker 2: were going to.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Do it for anniversary, okay, and then a bunch of
- 0:53Speaker 3: things happened, like Catherine O'Hara died, James Vanderbeek, like a
- 0:57Speaker 3: bunch of like cover stories that kept bumping us.
- 1:01Speaker 2: So this is where it ended up. They were going
- 1:03Speaker 2: to do it for Valentine's.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Day, so anyway, they're just they were doing it to
- 1:08Speaker 3: coincide with the Bachelorette and then of course everything.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a brand box from one of our faves,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and I wonder how that brand deal went because it
- 1:20Speaker 2: was all in like coordination. There's so many things out
- 1:27Speaker 2: there that just were planned to go live. I can't
- 1:29Speaker 2: tell you.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Yeah, the Twizzlers that are all over.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Gender did a Twizzler ad.
- 1:36Speaker 4: There's a whole bunch of Wwizzler ads that just started
- 1:39Speaker 4: airing this last week that we're like, I'm getting ready
- 1:42Speaker 4: to have a girl's night is so I'm going to
- 1:44Speaker 4: make my dirty soda and use my Twizzlers. I'm getting
- 1:51Speaker 4: ready for a night with the girls. Uh huh for
- 1:56Speaker 4: a watch party with the girls, because you were supposed
- 1:58Speaker 4: to watch.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, oh my gosh. Yeah, the brands are out there.
- 2:05Speaker 3: They're sending me stuff with which, by the way, I whoever,
- 2:10Speaker 3: if you're talking about the same brand that I think
- 2:11Speaker 3: you're talking about, they stopped sending me stuff. I'm like,
- 2:14Speaker 3: you guys tell me.
- 2:15Speaker 2: After Yeah it was cute. Well wait, I want to
- 2:19Speaker 2: talk about your cover for one more second. How crazy
- 2:22Speaker 2: is it that you guys were on TV like twenty
- 2:24Speaker 2: two years ago, actually probably more, and then you're still
- 2:27Speaker 2: getting people magazine covers it's crazy.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Blakesley and I walked into the Hudson News, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 3: at the airport, and she's been in Rome, like on
- 2:36Speaker 3: a school trip, and so she didn't know that the
- 2:39Speaker 3: cover had come out. Like she is part she was
- 2:41Speaker 3: part of the photo shoot obviously and knew that the
- 2:44Speaker 3: cover was going to come out, but she didn't know
- 2:46Speaker 3: it was out now. And so we walk into Hudson
- 2:48Speaker 3: News and I recorded her. I was I was like,
- 2:51Speaker 3: I wonder if she's going to see it, and she
- 2:52Speaker 3: was like, is that you?
- 2:55Speaker 5: I saw the picture on your story.
- 2:57Speaker 3: That's so cute.
- 2:58Speaker 2: She wouldn't recreate it for me to put it on
- 3:00Speaker 2: my story.
- 3:01Speaker 3: So I was like, whatever, it's fine, I'll just put this.
- 3:04Speaker 3: But yeah, it is. It is very strange, like so cool.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It's very strange. It doesn't seem real, you know that
- 3:11Speaker 3: I am on the cover of magazine, especially People magazine,
- 3:15Speaker 3: which is like our favorite magazine, but like our magazine's
- 3:19Speaker 3: even a thing anymore, you know, I think.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It's quite coveted to get the Well, I do.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Feel honored, So thank you People magazine for having us.
- 3:28Speaker 2: So wow, super awesome. Is fun going to some not
- 3:32Speaker 2: super awesome news. I don't know how to transition. Katie
- 3:37Speaker 2: Thurston reveals that she's taking a break from cancer treatments
- 3:39Speaker 2: and getting a double misseectomy. We know that she's been
- 3:42Speaker 2: kind of, you know, wanting to get the double misseectomy
- 3:45Speaker 2: for a while, so she said on Instagram this week,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I'm taking a break. My cancer treatment consists of, you know,
- 3:52Speaker 2: there's all these different drug names, lubrin injection, a lotrosal,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I don't know, I'm not even gonna say it pill. Well,
- 4:00Speaker 2: three weeks of this other thing and then one week
- 4:02Speaker 2: off for recovery. I'm closely monitored to determine dose reductions
- 4:07Speaker 2: or extended breaks. In January, I took a one took
- 4:10Speaker 2: a one month medication break, and then she went back
- 4:14Speaker 2: on it. She's used giving all the details of her treatment,
- 4:18Speaker 2: and then she said, unfortunately, the recovery is taking longer
- 4:21Speaker 2: than I hoped my double misectomy. I have surgery scheduled
- 4:24Speaker 2: for on April twenty ninth for the removal of both
- 4:27Speaker 2: my breasts. This surgery was already rescheduled once, and I
- 4:30Speaker 2: won't delay it again because of the timing of the
- 4:33Speaker 2: medication break and liver recovery. The date of my surgery,
- 4:36Speaker 2: which also requires pausing one of the drugs. She's going
- 4:40Speaker 2: to continue to pause treatment for another two months. Basically,
- 4:44Speaker 2: she's just saying that, like, there's a lot going on
- 4:46Speaker 2: in her treatment and I'm going to take a break
- 4:49Speaker 2: a week offline to focus on my health and my habits.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It's easy to doom and scroll, and I can't imagine
- 4:54Speaker 2: what her algorithm looks like. Could you imagine, Like your
- 4:57Speaker 2: algorithm is so tailored to what you're going for through
- 5:00Speaker 2: in your life that like you can't imagine. I just
- 5:02Speaker 2: her entire algorithms must be like cancer. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 2: to get back to like a healthier lifestyle, get her
- 5:08Speaker 2: steps in, get sleep, get back to meal prepping, working out.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Not trying to be dramatic about announcing my time away.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I'm okay, I'm gonna be okay. I just need to reset.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Thank you for your love and support. Cancer totally. Yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 2: that's a lot. Like I feel so bad for what
- 5:24Speaker 2: she's going through, but I'm really she has such a
- 5:27Speaker 2: positive outlook. She really does, she does.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Like I am so proud of her for just staying
- 5:34Speaker 3: so positive with everything, especially because she got diagnosed incorrectly
- 5:39Speaker 3: and then and then going she thought it was a.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Different form of breast cancer, so she actually was a
- 5:45Speaker 2: treatment is a treatment that wasn't suitable for her. Really, Yes,
- 5:50Speaker 2: and she she's just so positive.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I just I am so proud of her.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Yeah, she is absolutely saving lives by sharing her experience,
- 5:59Speaker 2: because what kind of she's thirty five, you know, because
- 6:02Speaker 2: it's so it's rare but becoming increasingly more common for
- 6:07Speaker 2: girls in their thirties to get breast cancer. So she
- 6:11Speaker 2: is like she's out there bringing it to the forefront
- 6:15Speaker 2: for a lot of thirty somethings, so they'd be checking
- 6:18Speaker 2: their boobies more often. Yeah, Okay, So Ali Fedotowski's also
- 6:22Speaker 2: going through a medical diagnosis and Daisy, I really want
- 6:24Speaker 2: you to jump in here, because she's having an ant
- 6:28Speaker 2: probably you know, something with She's going to see the
- 6:30Speaker 2: e int the ear nose and throat doctor because she's
- 6:33Speaker 2: said that her hearing has just been off. She's been
- 6:35Speaker 2: officially diagnosed with a Usatian tube dysfunction. So it just
- 6:40Speaker 2: like kind of does make your hearing go in and out?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Are you familiar with us?
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:43Speaker 5: Probably makes it go in and out. If her, if
- 6:46Speaker 5: I'm right, it's like not releasing fluid correctly in her
- 6:50Speaker 5: inner ear and tell me if this makes sense. She
- 6:53Speaker 5: says that she always has to pop her ears. Yeah, totally, yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 5: if that's not a doctor. But I think and what
- 7:00Speaker 5: I'm just kidding, but no, that's the worst when you
- 7:03Speaker 5: can't hear, and especially when they can't like figure out
- 7:06Speaker 5: how to make it like better.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so frustrating. So she said that she's been
- 7:11Speaker 2: to two ants. They just keep telling her to keep
- 7:13Speaker 2: up with flown aise. That's what she's been doing for
- 7:16Speaker 2: three and a half years and it isn't working. So
- 7:18Speaker 2: she's hoping to get some answer soon. Yeah, and like
- 7:21Speaker 2: might be getting this procedure done.
- 7:23Speaker 3: She said on her stories that I think she's looking
- 7:27Speaker 3: into getting her two or tw twitters put in like
- 7:31Speaker 3: like you usually hear about kids getting ja Yeah.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Because I just keep the canal open and like clear
- 7:37Speaker 2: for fluid.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Yeah, she should go to another anti Yeah. Yeah, but
- 7:44Speaker 5: it's frustrating too because like I went to so many
- 7:46Speaker 5: doctors that could figure out like what was going on
- 7:48Speaker 5: with me, and then I ended up getting a cochlear implant.
- 7:52Speaker 5: But I like love my antino, got my surgeon.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I think about what you want overseas for oh yeah,
- 7:59Speaker 2: that was great, stag and how it like flipped your
- 8:02Speaker 2: life upside down the right direction. Yeah, what was that?
- 8:05Speaker 2: It's crazy. I went to Germany lime disease.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yeah, it was like the year after I graduated.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Call did we talk about this in the may Seattle
- 8:15Speaker 3: because you went, yes, right, yeah, okay you can and
- 8:18Speaker 3: so yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 5: But I was like really sick. I couldn't even walk.
- 8:22Speaker 5: And then I went over did that treatment and I
- 8:25Speaker 5: was there for a month. And they heat your body.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yes, they overheat you. Yes, you have told me about it.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Crosed like they like got you really, you know, they
- 8:32Speaker 2: heat you. So they heat you up.
- 8:33Speaker 5: You have to go over I think it's like one
- 8:35Speaker 5: hundred and six point seven degrees because like if you
- 8:38Speaker 5: have line for a long time, it has like a
- 8:40Speaker 5: hard shell over it, and so to like crack it
- 8:42Speaker 5: open to get to the inside, the only thing that
- 8:45Speaker 5: can do it is extreme heat. And so they put
- 8:47Speaker 5: you to sleep and do that for like eight hours,
- 8:49Speaker 5: and then you do like plasma fierces where they like
- 8:51Speaker 5: take out your plasma and clean it and getting like
- 8:54Speaker 5: so many injections.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's crazy. This is some futuristic jets and yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 5: But it was like it was really difficult when I
- 9:02Speaker 5: was there, but then like a month after I left,
- 9:05Speaker 5: it was like I was like, well, I can't believe,
- 9:07Speaker 5: like I felt that way for so long and then
- 9:09Speaker 5: you just felt were better, Yeah, like magic, and then
- 9:13Speaker 5: the only thing is my hearing.
- 9:14Speaker 2: But yeah, wow, do you think you're hearing? I want
- 9:17Speaker 2: to tell everybody's because of the line.
- 9:19Speaker 5: They're not entirely sure because I they definitely I have
- 9:23Speaker 5: Miniar's disease, and like lime can cause hearing loss, but
- 9:27Speaker 5: to have Minear's disease as young as like I was
- 9:30Speaker 5: when I got diagnosed, like most people don't get it
- 9:32Speaker 5: until they're like fifty five, I'm pretty sure and so,
- 9:35Speaker 5: but I also don't respond to normal treatments that people do,
- 9:38Speaker 5: and it's rare for it to affect you on both sides.
- 9:41Speaker 5: So they're not really entirely sure. They think it could
- 9:44Speaker 5: be like a mix of things.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't mean to say the Jetsons, like what,
- 9:50Speaker 2: I've just been watching The Jetsons with Dawson, so I
- 9:53Speaker 2: was like thinking about futuristic show. This is definitely more
- 9:57Speaker 2: Steven Spielberg than that. Next headline, Bacheloration alum Katie Morton,
- 10:12Speaker 2: who you guys will would remember from Colton season and
- 10:16Speaker 2: also being engaged to Chris Bukowski from Bachelor in Paris, Oh.
- 10:22Speaker 2: She married a man named Nick in London this past
- 10:28Speaker 2: week and Katie actually a cool story about Katie. So
- 10:32Speaker 2: she had met another boyfriend and moved to England for him.
- 10:36Speaker 2: No way, they didn't work out, and apparently it was
- 10:40Speaker 2: all meant to be that she lived there because here
- 10:42Speaker 2: she is marrying a Brett. Now everything works out for he. Yes,
- 10:46Speaker 2: So they got like a courthouse wedding, very cute, casual
- 10:50Speaker 2: but beautiful black and white photos. She says that they
- 10:52Speaker 2: plan on having a big celebration in twenty twenty seven.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Love it. Congratulations Katie, Katie. In other marriage news, there
- 11:04Speaker 2: was some AI photos floating around about Jonathan Johnson, which
- 11:08Speaker 2: you know, I didn't realize that Jonathan from Gen season's
- 11:11Speaker 2: last name was Johnson. I say this like, you know,
- 11:16Speaker 2: man like Jonathan Johnson. I needed my kid, Hayden, Haydn.
- 11:19Speaker 2: So you know, Sore just called her loud. So he
- 11:31Speaker 2: and Jen had a picture of them floating around the
- 11:35Speaker 2: internet this week of the two of them married. There's
- 11:38Speaker 2: like a picture of their supposed wedding which never happened.
- 11:41Speaker 2: They're both wearing wedding attire, smiling, kissing. Jen's holding up
- 11:45Speaker 2: her hand to show off the wedding ring, and then
- 11:48Speaker 2: Jonathan screens on this and he was like, guys, why
- 11:52Speaker 2: he had just came, you know, made a hard launch
- 11:56Speaker 2: with his girlfriend Morgan. He's like, what in the actual
- 11:59Speaker 2: F is this? I let you only have a girlfriend,
- 12:01Speaker 2: and now you wonder why, Like I stayed discreet online, Jonathan,
- 12:04Speaker 2: we love you, but you're not discreet my love. No
- 12:11Speaker 2: in case, like you couldn't figure out this is one
- 12:13Speaker 2: thousand percent AI.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yeah, which which goes to show never believe what you
- 12:17Speaker 3: see anymore, even if you see it with your own eyes,
- 12:21Speaker 3: it might be fake, especially and I have experience with
- 12:24Speaker 3: this the Bachelor news, it's called Bachelor news on face
- 12:29Speaker 3: that I had cancer, they said that you had cancer,
- 12:31Speaker 3: that I had a moment Alzheimer's, that Laura Zina Zemo
- 12:34Speaker 3: was pregnant, that I was going to be a grandmother,
- 12:37Speaker 3: so that met one of my children was going to
- 12:39Speaker 3: be a father or mother. I mean, it's ridiculous, and
- 12:43Speaker 3: no one, no one gets them, like ended like, can
- 12:48Speaker 3: we get this website canceled or this Facebook page cancer,
- 12:52Speaker 3: Like why can't they get canceled because they make up
- 12:54Speaker 3: lies about everybody?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was sad. Like my friends I was there,
- 13:00Speaker 2: the ones who told me about this headline about me,
- 13:02Speaker 2: him and cancer. They're like, this is so like, I'm
- 13:04Speaker 2: so sorry for this. I'm like, that doesn't phase me.
- 13:06Speaker 2: What phases me is that in the comments people are like,
- 13:10Speaker 2: oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for her and her
- 13:12Speaker 2: young family, like I hope I'm praying for them, and
- 13:14Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my gosh, these people are like putting
- 13:16Speaker 2: me in their prayers.
- 13:18Speaker 3: News because these people are so sad. Who ever runs
- 13:22Speaker 3: that page?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry. This is a fun headline. Gabby Windley
- 13:27Speaker 2: is saying that her new dating show called Love Overboard
- 13:31Speaker 2: is like national geographic for hot, horny people, so she's hilarious.
- 13:39Speaker 2: This is a show that is executive produced by Alex Cooper.
- 13:42Speaker 2: They taped it in June and it's a whole bunch
- 13:45Speaker 2: of sexy singles that are looking for love. But it's
- 13:48Speaker 2: on like a big yacht. It's a luxury yacht series
- 13:51Speaker 2: that's kind of like was it overboard?
- 13:54Speaker 3: Wait? Was it go?
- 13:54Speaker 2: Overboard yeah, below yeah, okay, so it's like below deck
- 14:00Speaker 2: where there's some people working if they're not coupled off.
- 14:03Speaker 2: So if you're coupled up, you get to go live
- 14:06Speaker 2: in this suite, a beautiful suite on the t of
- 14:10Speaker 2: the and then everybody else who's not coupled up has
- 14:12Speaker 2: to serve them. And then there's ways to get after that.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I clean up after them, get like, you know, you
- 14:20Speaker 2: can move up the rings by like certain competitions, and
- 14:23Speaker 2: then the ultimate way to move up and like get
- 14:26Speaker 2: into that yacht that that upper yacht room is to
- 14:31Speaker 2: break up a couple. This sounds like hell on Earth
- 14:34Speaker 2: for me to come. This sounds like the worst reality
- 14:38Speaker 2: for me, but ours, as Gabby says, she actually got
- 14:44Speaker 2: casts as the host for this because she called them
- 14:47Speaker 2: all perverted, disgusting sex fiends. She says that I notoriously
- 14:53Speaker 2: say no to everything, but I knew this was gonna
- 14:56Speaker 2: be different. And then she did like a chemistry test
- 15:00Speaker 2: with some of the cast. She goes, I like worked
- 15:03Speaker 2: my a off. That's exactly what I did in the
- 15:06Speaker 2: chemistry test. I was calling everyone a pervert, a sick freak,
- 15:09Speaker 2: and they loved it. Here I am. That is really
- 15:13Speaker 2: funny because like Gappy is no prude, Okay, Delby is
- 15:16Speaker 2: not prude at all, So for her to think that
- 15:18Speaker 2: these people are kind of gross, yeah, I'm like excited
- 15:22Speaker 2: to watch.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I think they dropped off episodes, right they have.
- 15:26Speaker 3: They have almost famous as recapping it, so there will
- 15:30Speaker 3: be a whole other podcast on that way.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yes, I love that she thinks overtly sexual for her,
- 15:35Speaker 2: who I think is a very sexual.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Right, she said, tell me Millie, Bobby Brown is my
- 15:40Speaker 3: competition and I'm going to work my ass off.
- 15:43Speaker 2: That's so funny, says yet know everything, and I like,
- 15:48Speaker 2: notoriously will say, yes, our final headline I would like
- 15:55Speaker 2: to create here. We would like to create that here,
- 15:58Speaker 2: to create it. Because of the pictures that you just posted,
- 16:01Speaker 2: Like I thought those photos were you guys actually eloped,
- 16:05Speaker 2: but no, those are your engagement photos. Yeah, like what
- 16:10Speaker 2: would like to take pictures?
- 16:11Speaker 5: So I was like, okay, since we're getting married, we're.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Doing engagement photos. But they were so fun.
- 16:16Speaker 5: The photographer was great and like thora doesn't like taking
- 16:19Speaker 5: photos and he was great with him too good, But
- 16:22Speaker 5: it was so fun.
- 16:23Speaker 2: They were beauty. Did you pickt your dress? Yeah, I did. Yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 2: and the wedding.
- 16:28Speaker 5: The wedding is December nineteenth, Okay, oh my goodness, gracious.
- 16:33Speaker 3: And is it like the engagement photos?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Will it be in a colder climate? Okay? Love it? Yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 2: we wanted to do a winter wedding, so love it.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Do you think you would be here in this engagement
- 16:46Speaker 2: moment with him if you didn't do The Bachelor? I
- 16:50Speaker 2: honestly don't know, because you guys met each other before
- 16:53Speaker 2: the show.
- 16:55Speaker 5: And met each other in college, and then we dated
- 16:57Speaker 5: for a little bit in college. Yeah, broke up, and
- 17:00Speaker 5: then I like dated people in between, and then went
- 17:04Speaker 5: on The Bachelor, and then after did.
- 17:06Speaker 2: He get this list seeing you on the Bachelor?
- 17:08Speaker 5: I well, yeah, I think so, but I think.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I watch it.
- 17:14Speaker 5: But I remember when I got back, all my friends
- 17:17Speaker 5: were like because we have the same friend group, and
- 17:19Speaker 5: they were like thords freaking out, and I was like, well,
- 17:28Speaker 5: I got to figure out my life.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Because I always say you're gonna after a while. Yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 2: if you need a guy to pull a trigger and
- 17:35Speaker 2: get into a relationship, you just have to get another boyfriend.
- 17:38Speaker 2: And he doesn't want you when you have another boyfriend,
- 17:40Speaker 2: He's just not gonna want you.
- 17:42Speaker 5: I was like, I thought it was so over and
