- 0:01Here's your host, Alex Garrett. Alright, well, I know it's a
- 0:11little later here on the East Coast, eleven seventeen PM, and I know
- 0:15we're all reeling from a terrible walk off loss against the Royals, but Yanks
- 0:20won three out of four and that's great. Tom Brady gets his number retired
- 0:25in New England and Connor McDavid and the Oilers are down now three to nothing
- 0:32against the Panthers. And so that was what my Sports Day was talking about
- 0:36all day long. But there's some other pressing things I wanna talk about with
- 0:42you. Tomorrow is Flag Day and I'm gonna go into that with Tom McMillan.
- 0:47I'll replay some of my interview with the author of Our Flag was still
- 0:52there, a very historic star spangled banner that survived the British and two hundred
- 1:00years and the Armisted family who saved it. This National treasurer and American flag
- 1:10can be found in the Smithsonian. But we'll talk more about that tomorrow and
- 1:12a little more insight with Tom McMillan and his book Our Flag was Still There.
- 1:18But today, on the heels of talking about spina bifida, I gotta
- 1:25tell you that they have a call to action. Isn't that something when you
- 1:29talk about an issue sometimes call the actions. Find your email and I got
- 1:36this today calling all advocates Spina Bifida Association and the Hydrocephalus Association, co founders
- 1:46of the National Partnership for Pediatric to Adult Tradition Care. That's National Partnership for
- 1:52Pediatric to Adult Tradition Care. Our partnering with the Congressional Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
- 2:00Caucuses, goes a happy Hour briefing on Pediatric to adult healthcare changes and Thursday
- 2:07June twentieth at four pm Eastern next week at the Rayburn House Office Building Room
- 2:14twenty forty four that the Rabound Rayburn House Office Building Room twenty forty four.
- 2:20They go on to say, we need your help to get as many Members
- 2:23of Congress there as possible. Please consider by clicking this link which you could
- 2:30find in the link below. So basically, they want you to get members
- 2:35of Congress to this happy hour briefing. And boy, oh boy, if
- 2:39Congress could be involved with something such as spine of bifida awareness and hydrocephalus,
- 2:46which I've talked to Danny Boyce about and others about that would really help the
- 2:52movement for spine and bifida. I'm inspired now to see if there's a bodder
- 2:57caucus that we could start up or some with DC, because you know,
- 3:02we vote these people in, we vote these people out while they're voted in.
- 3:07What can they do to better use of our tax dollars? What can
- 3:12they do to better use our tax dollars? And listening to hearing out and
- 3:19also supporting those with fine A bit of a fodder CP any kind of disability
- 3:27would be so clutch. So I implore you, if you are an advocate,
- 3:30to make those calls and get some congressional people there to the Rayburn office
- 3:37building on Thursday, June twentieth for that happy hour. And by the way,
- 3:42pediatric to adult care. I heard Joslonica the night saying he's been he
- 3:46was an adult care till his mid twenties, and I was sorting in that
- 3:51boat too. When my pediatric doctor retired, I had to move along,
- 3:55and eventually all my pediatric doctors when I was about age twenty four to twenty
- 4:00five moved along and I transitioned to adult care and we kind of just got
- 4:05thrown into it the process was okay for us, but for those who are
- 4:11finding it daunting to go from a longtime doctor to a new doctor. I
- 4:16think transition talks like this are so important, don't you. Don't you?
- 4:23I think so. So there's that going on. But the House of Representatives
- 4:30did indeed vote to hold ag Merrick Garland in contempt with the sergeant in arms
- 4:40set to arrest him. I mean, what is going on? And we
- 4:43know it's based on the Trump verdict from a couple of weeks ago, where
- 4:47he's now a convicted felon. But beyond that, the Department Homeland Security is
- 4:55facing something that is bigger than that, because their Inspector General claimed in a
- 5:04report released Tuesday that the department needed to improve its screening embedding systems of asylum
- 5:11seekers. The report found multiple issues, including inconsistencies in the way US Customs
- 5:16and Border Protection inspected or UH travelers arriving in vehicles at lamports of entry failed
- 5:25to a proper technology to perform biometric matching for those arriving by land. I
- 5:30feel like that's such a bigger important story to cover than say, holding the
- 5:35Attorney General in contempt for political gain or whatever. You wanna call it,
- 5:41because here's the deal. There has been a sting, a sting in three
- 5:47major cities in America. Nine suspected terrorists UH with possible ISIS ties were arrested
- 5:57in New York, LA. And I'm sorry Filled House Committee on Homeland Security
- 6:05Chair green Mark green is saying that these were inadmiscible aliens. I mean they
- 6:13came in illegally. So you pair those two stories and then the migrant crisis
- 6:20that continues to cause havoc here in New York with cops being injured I think
- 6:26shot by an illegal last week. Damn right. The DHS needs to do
- 6:31better, and I'm so glad the Inspector General is holding its department accountable because
- 6:44it's what we talk about. Accountability, adaptability, accessibility. We're making the
- 6:49country too accessible for those who want to do harm. We're making the country
- 6:57too accessible for those who want to do harm and less accessible for those who
- 7:01are Americans with disabilities. Think about that. Why are we allowing so many
- 7:09folks who were born here to experience the American dream when some of them don't
- 7:14even want to do good here. Not saying all some of them, but
- 7:20those bad apples like the nine suspected terrorists with ISIS ties. It makes you
- 7:30wonder how someone with a disability could be so limited in what they could do
- 7:33in America. But yet folks who are terrorists and on the terrorists watchless are
- 7:40allowed to roam around in these cities. It should piss you off as much
- 7:44as it pisses me off. Okay, it should because it piss me off,
- 7:48and I hope it pisses you off. We are a flag day.
- 7:53Our flag is still there, it was still there, it is still there
- 8:00to Scott keyt. But to protect it, we must protect our homeland.
- 8:07And this Inspector General report, which you'll find more about in the link below,
- 8:11is so vital, so vital that I can't not go about talking about
- 8:16it because if they're finding improper procedure at the border, that's where it starts.
- 8:28Then you have stories like nine terrorists arrested in three different neat American cities.
- 8:37Thank God for these sting operations, but it's not making the Biden administration
- 8:43look any better because these departments are finally taking into their own hands. However,
- 8:50they're not gonna protect the border. We're gonna protect our cities. That's
- 8:54the message I'm getting when I read something like that, don't you We cannot
- 9:05make this country totally accessible to those who wanna do harm and limited inaccessibility to
- 9:11those Americans but disabilities that wanna just live life to their fullest but are quite
- 9:18frankly restricted from that r quite frankly restricted from that. And I hope,
- 9:28I hope that Inspector General report that I'm talking about will change things for the
- 9:35better, not only down to the border, but all our cities. For
- 9:41if we have different procedures that could be better and adapt to the Shenaniganrie and
- 9:48stopping the Shenaniganria the way they cross the border, will all be better for
- 9:52it. We definitely will be. So this is also on the heels of
- 10:03you know, ma orcists being impeached sending go through with it. The Department
- 10:13of Homeland Security has a lot of issues, and I'm sure seeing nine terrorists
- 10:26with possible ISIS ties would wake that office up, wouldn't it to do more
- 10:35for every American able bodied, disabled, differently abled, gay, straight,
- 10:46black, white. How our security handles the security of our country impacts everybody,
- 10:56And maybe the Inspector General is finally waking up My own in the Department
- 11:01of Homeland Security because we cannot take another migrant causing hell in this city,
- 11:09any legal minment, and we cannot take another bustload of the migrants in any
- 11:20of our cities. We just can't. There's too much trouble a brew when
- 11:24we do that. So thank you, Inspector General, Thank you for just
- 11:30the news for reporting on this, and I want you to know that as
- 11:33well. John Solomon does a hell of a job. Yes he's conservative,
- 11:35but he gets the news out. Mentioned Paul Harvey the other day. John
- 11:39Solomon is a news news guy as well, no doubt about it. Read
- 11:46the article, Read up on what's going on. Because we can't let the
- 11:58bs noss of the news overtake us. Whenever Trump said behind closed doors about
- 12:05Pelosi, who cares we have illegal migrants that are not being vetted properly.
- 12:13That's not a big issue to the mainstream media. It should be, but
- 12:18until it is, we exist at this podcast network going beyond to tell the
- 12:22news. They won't because this is Inspector General report. Is pretty damning for
- 12:31a secretary of my orcus who's already faced impeachment. What fuel does this add
- 12:39to a Congress that's already put out a content against atturn in General Merrick Garland.
- 12:56This Congress has a chance to fire in all cylinders. So let's not
- 12:58make a political Let's make it real, and let's fix the country, because
- 13:03that's why we voted you in to fix the damn country, so that on
- 13:07Flag Day every year we could say that flag is still there and our American
- 13:13flag, our stair spangled banner is still flying proudly. That's why we elected
- 13:20you to Congress. So do your job and don't get sidetracked like apparently the
- 13:28Department of Homeland Security is. I'm Alex Garrett tomorrow a little bit when Tom
- 13:35McMillan a replay and then of course Fanatics Friday with lou Terminello. That's right,
- 13:39lou Terminello to talk about Walton and West two NBA legends passing away weeks
- 13:48apart. Don't want to miss that on the Alex Garrett Podcast Network
