- 0:00Dave Hamilton: Business Brain, episode 757 for Casual Friday. I May 29th, National Paperclip Day, 2026.
- 0:11Shannon Jean: You ever see that video guy traded a paperclip for a house?
- 0:15Shannon Jean: Remember he kept going, started with the paperclip, and he traded something
- 0:20Shannon Jean: a little bigger, and a little bigger, and a little bigger, and eventually got
- 0:24Shannon Jean: a house. A really great documentary. Yeah.
- 0:27Dave Hamilton: I remember that. Total hustler. Yeah, that's a hustle. That's a good hustle. Yeah, it's great.
- 0:32Shannon Jean: Yeah, it's huge. Huge, huge, huge.
- 0:34Dave Hamilton: One red paperclip.
- 0:35Shannon Jean: Yeah, that's it.
- 0:36Dave Hamilton: Listening. Greetings, folks, and welcome to Business Brain, the show where we
- 0:41Dave Hamilton: take some ideas, we crunch them, we use them, we dissect them so that we can
- 0:45Dave Hamilton: better tune our business brains and level up our charmed lives.
- 0:50Dave Hamilton: Speaking of charmed lives our sponsors include shopify.com
- 0:53Dave Hamilton: slash business brain where you can sign up for your one dollar per month trial
- 0:57Dave Hamilton: period and bitdefender.com slash brain where you can save 30 percent on bitdefender
- 1:03Dave Hamilton: ultimate small business security go check those out but we will talk about them
- 1:07Dave Hamilton: a little bit later in the episode for now as usual here in durham new hampshire i'm dave hamilton.
- 1:13Shannon Jean: And I'm still in Northern California. I'm Shannon Jean. I love those sponsors.
- 1:16Shannon Jean: Super great. Yep. Very useful. Used them both many, many, many times.
- 1:20Dave Hamilton: Love it. Yeah.
- 1:22Shannon Jean: That's really good. Hey, I'm going to go first since you went first last time.
- 1:24Dave Hamilton: I was going to suggest that you go first, but we're on the same page. I love it.
- 1:28Shannon Jean: Yeah. Yeah. So, hey, so I have this, I talk a lot. Maybe you didn't know that, big mouth.
- 1:34Shannon Jean: But I'm always talking and doing things like you, singing, talking.
- 1:37Shannon Jean: I think I'm not a professional singer like you are. but uh so i'm one of the
- 1:42Shannon Jean: things i'm doing with my doctor because my throat is uh sore often is i'm he
- 1:46Shannon Jean: says you need to track your food like every single thing you eat sure
- 1:50Dave Hamilton: Just to make sure that it's not you know some spicy thing that you're eating that's causing reflux.
- 1:54Shannon Jean: Food and drink yeah food and drink and everything so i'm thinking okay so i
- 1:58Shannon Jean: had i had this meeting this morning and i was like all right all right i gotta
- 2:01Shannon Jean: track this how am i gonna how am i gonna do it so there's a ton of apps
- 2:04Dave Hamilton: Out there you can do this with you know.
- 2:05Shannon Jean: Shannon there is a ton of apps but you know oh, I actually have access to...
- 2:10Shannon Jean: Product that I already paid for called Claude. That is, it's amazing.
- 2:15Shannon Jean: And so this is why the SaaSpocalypse has happened, right?
- 2:19Shannon Jean: Because I start talking to Claude in the car, I leave the doctor's office,
- 2:22Shannon Jean: I get in the car and I start talking to Claude.
- 2:24Shannon Jean: I said, Hey, I need to track all my food and drink everything every day.
- 2:30Shannon Jean: And I got to do it like, cause this, this, my doctor's coming to meet with him
- 2:33Shannon Jean: every week. They're going to hold me accountable.
- 2:35Shannon Jean: And I got to be able to give them this log. And I said, what's the best way to do it?
- 2:40Shannon Jean: And Claude says, oh, I'll build you a food log.
- 2:44Shannon Jean: And all you do is take a photo of what you're eating and drinking and I'll figure
- 2:48Shannon Jean: out the ingredients and I'll create the list.
- 2:50Shannon Jean: And then I'll give me the email you needed to go to and I'll email it before
- 2:54Shannon Jean: your next doctor's thing.
- 2:56Shannon Jean: And I was like, oh my gosh, what a world we're living in, right?
- 3:00Shannon Jean: So I'm kind of talking through. So I get back to my office.
- 3:03Shannon Jean: I look, that's the, the log is done on my phone. And he's like,
- 3:08Shannon Jean: yeah, just hit here every time.
- 3:10Shannon Jean: And then it shows me how to make a app to put on my home screen.
- 3:13Shannon Jean: Yeah. So I could just click it, not have to go into Claude. I could just click
- 3:17Shannon Jean: right on this food log, you know, web app, if you will.
- 3:20Shannon Jean: You got to go in through the Claude via the web browser on like Safari first or Chrome on your phone.
- 3:27Shannon Jean: And then you can create a web app out of that.
- 3:30Dave Hamilton: Oh, for sure.
- 3:31Shannon Jean: Yeah. Yeah, and that'll be, because I was like, what's the fastest way?
- 3:33Shannon Jean: I got to do it quick. I don't want to have to stop. And then I said, I said, all right, well,
- 3:39Shannon Jean: What if you don't know what something is? And it's like, okay,
- 3:42Shannon Jean: I'll ask you. So I'll prompt you.
- 3:44Shannon Jean: It's like, I got it. It's fried chicken and this and potatoes and that. But what's that sauce?
- 3:49Shannon Jean: Are you dipping in barbecue sauce? Whatever it is. You know,
- 3:51Shannon Jean: are you eating Chinese food?
- 3:53Shannon Jean: So it'll query me because we want all the little details as well as if I'm cooking something.
- 3:59Shannon Jean: Like we like that the stuff from Costco, this Kevin's, they make this like prepared
- 4:05Shannon Jean: meals that I really like.
- 4:06Dave Hamilton: Yeah, sure.
- 4:07Shannon Jean: And so I'm like, if I take a picture of the ingredients, you can detail, of course.
- 4:11Shannon Jean: So it'll detail all. So yeah, I'm curious to see how it's going to work. And all right.
- 4:17Dave Hamilton: So you're at least currently not tracking portion sizes or calories.
- 4:23Dave Hamilton: You're just tracking the contents.
- 4:25Dave Hamilton: Well, for what you're doing, that's not what I'm doing.
- 4:28Shannon Jean: Yeah. I don't really track that.
- 4:30Dave Hamilton: I see no reason why it couldn't be, what you're doing couldn't be expanded to
- 4:36Dave Hamilton: do that for someone who did want to do that kind of thing. I agree.
- 4:39Shannon Jean: Yeah, I would think so. Because it would say how big your thing is, this portion, yeah.
- 4:43Dave Hamilton: I did a, I think we talked about it on the show that, you know,
- 4:47Dave Hamilton: this was four or five years ago.
- 4:48Dave Hamilton: Maybe I wound up, I have these lipomas or whatever all over me and they were driving me crazy.
- 4:53Dave Hamilton: And I incorrectly reasoned that if I consumed less fat, that I would make less
- 5:02Dave Hamilton: of these fatty deposits. That's not how the body works, by the way.
- 5:05Dave Hamilton: Got it. So I was wrong. But still, I was like, well, I need to know how much
- 5:09Dave Hamilton: I'm supposed to be eating.
- 5:10Dave Hamilton: And I don't know because I, you know, like, I mean, the last time I thought
- 5:14Dave Hamilton: about portion sizes, I was like 20.
- 5:16Dave Hamilton: And it turns out I'm not 20 anymore. And so I needed something different.
- 5:21Dave Hamilton: Confirmed to me that i was eating enough food but
- 5:25Dave Hamilton: because my my body for the first few
- 5:28Dave Hamilton: days lied to me it was like you're starving you need to
- 5:31Dave Hamilton: eat more and it's like so bad i don't think so you
- 5:34Dave Hamilton: know so i used i used an app i used an app called lose it
- 5:36Dave Hamilton: um that's for you know primarily for people who
- 5:39Dave Hamilton: want to you know do weight loss but that wasn't my intention but
- 5:43Dave Hamilton: i wound up on like a path to learn lose like
- 5:46Dave Hamilton: 10 pounds a month because but it was easy because i wasn't
- 5:49Dave Hamilton: intending to lose weight but that app i paid
- 5:52Dave Hamilton: for a lifetime subscription and now that app has a
- 5:54Dave Hamilton: lot of what you're talking about you just take a picture of your food it didn't
- 5:57Dave Hamilton: have that back then but now you take a picture and it'll it'll calculate portion
- 6:01Dave Hamilton: sizes and all that so i see no reason why you couldn't just skip the custom
- 6:06Dave Hamilton: app and just do that with claude or built it build your own custom app like
- 6:10Dave Hamilton: yeah you know you can do that too so yeah.
- 6:13Shannon Jean: Absolutely but it's just you
- 6:14Shannon Jean: know i i guess the takeaway is don't forget to use your ai for everyday
- 6:20Dave Hamilton: Things everyday things that's right and it's it's.
- 6:23Shannon Jean: Powerful and we get caught up in this complex stuff and for businesses and it's
- 6:28Shannon Jean: great and that stuff's awesome too and that's what we usually talk about on
- 6:30Shannon Jean: friday i uh but it's the every day today the simple things it can help make your life
- 6:35Dave Hamilton: Better i'm gonna i'm gonna refine or add to your okay your your takeaway from
- 6:41Dave Hamilton: this section here you said don't forget to use your favorite chat bot for everyday things.
- 6:45Dave Hamilton: Don't forget that,
- 6:47Dave Hamilton: Your chat bot is more than a chat bot.
- 6:51Dave Hamilton: If all you're using, it doesn't matter. Claude, you know, GPT, perplexity, Gemini.
- 6:58Dave Hamilton: If all you're doing is chatting back and forth with it, you're missing like
- 7:02Dave Hamilton: 90% of what you can do with this thing. Exactly.
- 7:06Dave Hamilton: And if you don't know what you're missing, guess what? Your chat bot knows. Yes.
- 7:14Dave Hamilton: Ask it. Like, say, hey, what am I? You know what I'm doing. You know what I'm up to.
- 7:18Dave Hamilton: What am I missing? And it'll tell you. Like, if you're not using Claude Cowork
- 7:23Dave Hamilton: yet, or whatever your favorite LLM's version of that is, oh my God,
- 7:29Dave Hamilton: like you're missing out.
- 7:31Dave Hamilton: I've made so much money. I would argue...
- 7:37Dave Hamilton: Is this true? Is what I'm about to say true? What I'm about to say,
- 7:40Dave Hamilton: and I'm trying to decide if it's true,
- 7:42Dave Hamilton: would I have needed to hire another salesperson if I didn't have Claude to prepare
- 7:48Dave Hamilton: my sales pitches and decks and spreadsheets?
- 7:55Dave Hamilton: And I mean, I don't know if I would have needed to hire somebody else,
- 7:59Dave Hamilton: but it's certainly freed up my time in a similar way to hiring someone.
- 8:04Shannon Jean: Yeah, I would have had to hire like another marketing person,
- 8:07Shannon Jean: I believe, or certainly a graphic designer to help me create images that I use
- 8:15Shannon Jean: every day and in various businesses that I'm involved in.
- 8:18Dave Hamilton: Yeah.
- 8:20Shannon Jean: Yeah, for sure. What else was I going to do? Oh, and I think that like everybody,
- 8:27Shannon Jean: whatever AI you're using, I also, I think you should have a health folder and
- 8:31Shannon Jean: you should be talking to it and answering questions about health.
- 8:34Dave Hamilton: I i agree with this game changer i i 100 agree yes however you need to do it
- 8:42Dave Hamilton: eyes wide open and know that correct feeding your health information to a third
- 8:46Dave Hamilton: party yeah yes yeah that's.
- 8:48Shannon Jean: Right and i mean there's no doubt about it but it's like uh it's it's really helpful yeah um i love it
- 8:54Dave Hamilton: For sure all right i have i have one sort of little thing to think about that
- 8:59Dave Hamilton: i want to share a little golden nugget perhaps a redefinition of ai uh and and
- 9:08Dave Hamilton: and i wanted i want to have that conversation but even more than that i want
- 9:12Dave Hamilton: to tell you about our sponsors.
- 9:14Dave Hamilton: And every entrepreneur knows that 2 a.m. voice, right? The what if no one buys from me?
- 9:21Dave Hamilton: What if I pick the wrong idea?
- 9:24Dave Hamilton: What if I'm not cut out for this charmed life?
- 9:28Dave Hamilton: And you can flip this for yourself, folks, by using Shopify.
- 9:33Dave Hamilton: I use Shopify for another podcast and another one of my businesses,
- 9:37Dave Hamilton: in fact, where we sell merch for both.
- 9:39Dave Hamilton: And we went from should we even try this
- 9:42Dave Hamilton: to our very first sale in the same
- 9:45Dave Hamilton: day like we had the idea at a staff meeting
- 9:48Dave Hamilton: in the morning and then i went and i signed us up for shopify and i went through
- 9:53Dave Hamilton: the process and i got us online and our first sale happened before i went home
- 9:58Dave Hamilton: for dinner shopify is packed with ai tools that write your product descriptions
- 10:03Dave Hamilton: your headlines and even enhance your product photography.
- 10:07Dave Hamilton: You can spin up email and social campaigns like you've got a marketing team
- 10:12Dave Hamilton: behind you, plus award-winning 24 seven support.
- 10:15Dave Hamilton: Whenever you get stuck, I've started reading my Shopify analytics out loud, like bedtime stories.
- 10:21Dave Hamilton: And that's why I hear ka-ching.
- 10:24Dave Hamilton: It's time to turn those what ifs into cha-ching with Shopify today.
- 10:29Dave Hamilton: Sign up for your $1 per month trial at shopify.com slash business brain.
- 10:36Dave Hamilton: Go to shopify.com slash business brain. That's shopify.com slash business brain.
- 10:43Dave Hamilton: And our thanks to Shopify for sponsoring this episode.
- 10:47Dave Hamilton: And we entrepreneurs often live one click away from chaos, right?
- 10:53Dave Hamilton: One bad link and the charmed life we've been building turns into a very expensive Tuesday.
- 10:59Dave Hamilton: The things that I've been thinking about lately are things like those emails
- 11:04Dave Hamilton: that you get that ask you to redirect someone's paycheck or send you an invoice, right? Right.
- 11:12Dave Hamilton: And like those kinds of things can really send you in the wrong direction.
- 11:18Dave Hamilton: And this is where our sponsor Bitdefender stands out for me.
- 11:22Dave Hamilton: Bitdefender is a global leader in cybersecurity and their ultimate small business
- 11:26Dave Hamilton: security is built for businesses with 25 or fewer employees and no IT team on standby.
- 11:33Dave Hamilton: And what I really like is the AI powered scam protection trained on exactly
- 11:38Dave Hamilton: these kinds of small business tricks.
- 11:40Dave Hamilton: You also get business reputation monitoring, password management,
- 11:44Dave Hamilton: unlimited VPN, and one clean dashboard so you can secure the whole team without
- 11:49Dave Hamilton: becoming the security department yourself, right?
- 11:53Dave Hamilton: I love what they're doing, and I think it's great.
- 11:56Dave Hamilton: Keep your small business safe with Bitdefender Ultimate Small Business Security
- 12:00Dave Hamilton: and save 30% when you go to bitdefender.com slash brain.
- 12:04Dave Hamilton: That's bitdefender.com slash brain for 30% off.
- 12:08Dave Hamilton: Go check it out. I think you're going to like it. And our thanks to Bitdefender
- 12:11Dave Hamilton: for sponsoring this episode.
- 12:14Dave Hamilton: So I think, you know, we talk a lot about AI here. It's fried AI, of course. Yes.
- 12:22Dave Hamilton: I, and we all know AI is artificial intelligence.
- 12:27Dave Hamilton: I think that term is wrong. I mean, there's a lot of people that will say,
- 12:33Dave Hamilton: well, it's not Intel. It's all this stuff.
- 12:35Dave Hamilton: Fine. I also think that's a misleading term in so far as how we best can use it.
- 12:48Dave Hamilton: Realize that the way that i use ai is
- 12:51Dave Hamilton: not as an artificial intelligence but as an assistive intelligence
- 12:55Dave Hamilton: oh yeah yeah yeah right because
- 12:58Dave Hamilton: it it is helping me it is not replacing me
- 13:03Dave Hamilton: it's it it like it's not to a point where like i mean we just talked about you
- 13:07Dave Hamilton: know what i added replaced another salesperson like i don't know like i still
- 13:11Dave Hamilton: had to be the one driving the bus on those sales Like I'd still benefit from
- 13:15Dave Hamilton: having a different person fielding that stuff. Right.
- 13:19Dave Hamilton: Uh, because then it's, it's like, it requires no brain power for me,
- 13:23Dave Hamilton: but it's the assistive part that takes the grunt work away. Right.
- 13:27Dave Hamilton: Whether it's from me or from somebody else on my team. I like it. Right.
- 13:31Dave Hamilton: It's, it's, it is intelligent to a point and it's able to do a lot of things.
- 13:36Dave Hamilton: It needs a lot of guidance.
- 13:38Dave Hamilton: Uh, but with guidance, man like i'm it's a superpower right and.
- 13:45Shannon Jean: So i love it yeah
- 13:46Dave Hamilton: Assistive intelligence is how is how i'm thinking about it now and i just want
- 13:51Dave Hamilton: to throw that out there yeah.
- 13:52Shannon Jean: I love that i love you know there's all these people paranoid about everybody
- 13:55Shannon Jean: losing their jobs i listened to gary v this morning talking he's like nobody's
- 13:58Shannon Jean: gonna lose their jobs everybody's gonna have different jobs it's just gonna
- 14:01Shannon Jean: change just like it always has welcome and
- 14:03Dave Hamilton: Technology has been doing this for a long time the industrial revolution has anyone studied that.
- 14:09Shannon Jean: Yeah what happened to all those people that worked at Sears?
- 14:11Shannon Jean: What happened to all the people at the mall?
- 14:13Dave Hamilton: Everything changes. My favorite example, Shannon, is the,
- 14:18Dave Hamilton: You're you and I are are of a similar vintage.
- 14:22Dave Hamilton: And so I know you will remember this, too.
- 14:26Dave Hamilton: People a decade or certainly two decades younger than us did not live through
- 14:30Dave Hamilton: the period of time when Photoshop hit the market. Oh, everything.
- 14:34Dave Hamilton: And I had this conversation with somebody who's in their 30s recently,
- 14:38Dave Hamilton: and they were shocked by what I'm about to say.
- 14:41Dave Hamilton: Uh when photos if you took you
- 14:44Dave Hamilton: can take a lot most of 80 of what people
- 14:47Dave Hamilton: are saying about ai taking people's jobs and being terrible and
- 14:50Dave Hamilton: it's gonna it's not art and like all those things you can
- 14:53Dave Hamilton: take all those comments and 80 of them
- 14:56Dave Hamilton: if you just take ai out and drop photoshop
- 14:59Dave Hamilton: in those words yeah those words
- 15:03Dave Hamilton: have all been said before it was just a couple of
- 15:05Dave Hamilton: decades ago because when photoshop hit the market people are
- 15:08Dave Hamilton: like oh my gosh graphic designers are going to lose their minds or lose their
- 15:11Dave Hamilton: jobs and their minds uh and i remember thinking gosh because i was you know
- 15:16Dave Hamilton: in technology and a nerd and always on the cutting edge and i was like uh yeah
- 15:21Dave Hamilton: i don't i don't see that because like i i have access to photoshop i don't know how to use it you gotta.
- 15:28Shannon Jean: Know how to
- 15:28Dave Hamilton: Use it terrible yeah i don't have a mind the right mind for artists.
- 15:34Shannon Jean: That were already designing it was an incredible assistant
- 15:37Dave Hamilton: And and of course that's what it became and today
- 15:40Dave Hamilton: we know of photoshop as like the
- 15:43Dave Hamilton: assistive tool that every art or something some competitor
- 15:47Dave Hamilton: to photoshop like you might choose to use you know pixel made or something i
- 15:49Dave Hamilton: don't know whatever yeah yeah but you know you're using software to help and
- 15:54Dave Hamilton: by the way even if you say you're not using software to help every camera you
- 15:58Dave Hamilton: have is using software between the lens and what you get as the original picture,
- 16:06Dave Hamilton: right? So, you know.
- 16:07Shannon Jean: That's huge. Yeah. It's a great analogy. And I love the acronym because it's actually like...
- 16:17Shannon Jean: It's allowed me to hire more people to build something bigger that I would not,
- 16:23Shannon Jean: I would have had to pay for, you know, I just, I wouldn't have been able to get there.
- 16:29Shannon Jean: And, you know, another, another analogy that I think about, like before the
- 16:35Shannon Jean: internet, and I remember driving my daughter one day, she was in like middle
- 16:39Shannon Jean: school and internet was just, you know, she was just kind of getting into the web and all this stuff.
- 16:44Shannon Jean: And she made a comment to me that I'll never forget. She said,
- 16:47Shannon Jean: dad, before the internet, why did you need a computer?
- 16:51Dave Hamilton: Yeah, right.
- 16:53Shannon Jean: I was like, it reminded me of
- 16:55Shannon Jean: those Sun Microsystem ads that says the internet is the computer, right?
- 16:58Shannon Jean: Which is kind of much more true now than it was back then. Yeah.
- 17:01Shannon Jean: But I got the whole thing. Well, why would you need a computer if you did?
- 17:05Shannon Jean: Because the internet is everything to these kids. And they grew up with it where we did not.
- 17:10Dave Hamilton: We transitioned. I mean, you might be using the royal we. I definitely,
- 17:15Dave Hamilton: I'm one of the weird Gen Xers where I've been online since I was about 14.
- 17:22Shannon Jean: Yeah, yeah. I was in chat rooms. What do they used to call that?
- 17:28Dave Hamilton: IRC. What was that?
- 17:29Shannon Jean: Yeah, it was not IRC, but there was like a whole...
- 17:32Shannon Jean: I can't remember the community. It was pre-AOL. It was some chat community service, but I forget.
- 17:40Shannon Jean: It wasn't IRC. It had a GUI, a graphical interface to it, but I can't remember what it was.
- 17:46Dave Hamilton: I started way before GUIs were a thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:49Shannon Jean: So I like the positioning,
- 17:52Dave Hamilton: And I think you're totally right. I agree with your daughter.
- 17:57Dave Hamilton: I mean, I certainly had a computer before I was able to get online.
- 18:01Dave Hamilton: And it was a big chore to get my computer online.
- 18:04Dave Hamilton: I had an Apple IIc, which it needed a reverse serial cable. It was a whole thing.
- 18:10Dave Hamilton: It took probably a year before we figured out how to make a modem work with
- 18:14Dave Hamilton: this computer. It was a super frustrating thing.
- 18:16Dave Hamilton: And I was using it and loving having this computer. Don't get me wrong.
- 18:20Dave Hamilton: And I'd been using computers, you know, for years prior to that. but
- 18:23Dave Hamilton: once i got online the purpose of that computer was to get me online like it
- 18:29Dave Hamilton: it changed everything for me in that moment and and online meant something very
- 18:36Dave Hamilton: different then than it does today but it was still the same thing yeah but.
- 18:41Shannon Jean: And it did the same thing where it created more
- 18:44Dave Hamilton: Abundance and it created community and abundance and all of yes yes.
- 18:47Shannon Jean: Yes there's negative sides to it but that's just life and and so
- 18:51Dave Hamilton: And those negative sides everybody says
- 18:54Dave Hamilton: social media and when they say this they mean facebook and x and you know instagram
- 18:59Dave Hamilton: or whatever social media has ruined is terrible it's ruined things and i'm like
- 19:03Dave Hamilton: well it but like this this is not new i had bulletin boards when i was a kid
- 19:10Dave Hamilton: that's what we dialed up to board.
- 19:11Shannon Jean: One of the software yeah yeah and
- 19:13Dave Hamilton: We like Like we had the same, there were bullying problems.
- 19:17Dave Hamilton: There were people that had major life consequences because of what happened
- 19:24Dave Hamilton: on bulletin boards. Like it was all this.
- 19:27Dave Hamilton: It's human nature is what causes these problems, not.
- 19:31Dave Hamilton: Facebook, I mean, Facebook and Instagram, like they fed into this and they've
- 19:34Dave Hamilton: made profitable business.
- 19:35Dave Hamilton: We weren't making profitable businesses out of it back then,
- 19:38Dave Hamilton: you know, but the human nature element of this ain't no different today than
- 19:42Dave Hamilton: it was 40 years ago or 140 years ago. We just didn't have computers back then.
- 19:48Shannon Jean: That's right. Yeah. I was trying to name it that bulletin board I used to get
- 19:52Shannon Jean: into, but yeah, I think it's great.
- 19:56Shannon Jean: And I love, I think the, I think the big takeaway today is yours the uh that
- 20:03Shannon Jean: we should be calling it assistive assistant assistive technology
- 20:08Dave Hamilton: So see i might disagree with you i i actually i
- 20:11Dave Hamilton: think that yeah assistive intelligence it's still a intelligence that is yeah
- 20:15Dave Hamilton: yeah yeah but i would argue that the kind of the the the iteration of what we
- 20:22Dave Hamilton: came up with with yours that if you're only using your chatbot as a chatbot
- 20:26Dave Hamilton: uh you're You're not using it enough.
- 20:29Dave Hamilton: I think that's the more important, the bigger takeaway for this.
- 20:34Dave Hamilton: I don't know. Okay. I don't know.
- 20:36Dave Hamilton: We have to decide.
- 20:39Dave Hamilton: So like we can't end the episode.
- 20:41Shannon Jean: I'm willing to, yeah, I think they're both really important. Yeah. I think that...
- 20:47Shannon Jean: Yeah, I'm okay with the using your AI for smaller, simpler things in your life. Yeah.
- 20:57Shannon Jean: And not just using it as a chat bot. I think that's very important.
- 21:00Shannon Jean: I would hope that, and maybe we're just farther along, I would hope that'd be obvious by now.
- 21:05Dave Hamilton: Well, I think that's why I'm going with it. Because the AI is assistive intelligence.
- 21:12Dave Hamilton: I mean, I obviously agree with that. I brought up the topic.
- 21:14Dave Hamilton: But like that, that's, that's not as, I guess, I guess if you think,
- 21:21Dave Hamilton: if you take that thought like we did and extend it, there is value to it.
- 21:27Shannon Jean: That's what I meant. That's what I'm looking at is the way you think about it,
- 21:31Shannon Jean: the way you talk about it to other people that, because most people are people
- 21:36Shannon Jean: that I talk to, like the civilians that work for other people and do other stuff.
- 21:40Shannon Jean: They're really nervous about it because they're getting, I think there's,
- 21:44Shannon Jean: we should talk about this next week, but I think there is a concerted effort to,
- 21:49Shannon Jean: to flip the script on AI and data centers and make them negative to,
- 21:55Shannon Jean: especially to a specific demographic or age group, I guess, maybe not demographic.
- 22:03Dave Hamilton: Yeah, okay. That is a demographic, an age group. That's a demographic.
- 22:06Shannon Jean: Okay, so that's a demographic. Okay, make sure. So especially like I've been
- 22:10Shannon Jean: watching some things where during graduation commencement speeches,
- 22:15Shannon Jean: any mention of AI has been booed by the college graduates
- 22:21Shannon Jean: who I think are worried about their jobs.
- 22:23Shannon Jean: And I think there's more to it. And I'm going to hold this for next week. Okay.
- 22:27Shannon Jean: I believe, and I can break it down, I think there's more to it than this just casually happening.
- 22:33Dave Hamilton: Oh, interesting. Yeah. Yeah.
- 22:35Shannon Jean: So that'll be for next Friday. I'm going to make a note right now.
- 22:38Dave Hamilton: That's great. Yeah, make a note. That's good. All right.
- 22:42Dave Hamilton: Yes, I should have started the little vamp happening, but now it's good. Look at that.
- 22:48Dave Hamilton: There you go. Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks for hanging out with us,
- 22:52Dave Hamilton: folks. This is, it's always fun.
- 22:54Dave Hamilton: We love what we get to do together. We do. Yeah. Thanks for hanging out.
- 23:00Dave Hamilton: Businessbrain.show. Feedback at businessbrain.show. And we'll see you next week.
- 23:05Shannon Jean: See ya.
