- 1:34SPEAKER_00: It is like you think about it and you're like, it's very weird because it's this person that you're not connected to in any way, shape, or form, and then they become like a very important part of your life that you can't even imagine life without this person.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So I'm thankful for you.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Alhamdulillah.

- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Like, but it's not just that, it's like, but it you when you when I really stop and I think about it, I'm like, there's like only like seven or eight people.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: There's a handful of people, maybe more than seven or eight, but there's like a very select group that I'm like.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: That's five people more than what I have.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but this is this is this is like my ride or die.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Like if I ever needed anything, these are gonna that's my tribe.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: These are gonna be my people, you know?
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Life is already hard and you're already busy.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Your your best friend shouldn't add to that shit.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: No, but like it's not even about that.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: But there's like people where there's there's times when you this is when you know you're gross.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I just and I like picked it up off the Your ADD is really uh It is it is ADDing today.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, but uh no that's not true.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I like diagnose myself, guys.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: But um, but anyways, back to the topic.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I am very like um I'm very happy with where I've landed, alhamdulillah.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Is it busy?
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, but then it makes me like extra thankful for all of the things that I have.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: It really does.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: And then like, I don't know, like I feel like we're also like um like our little podcast, our little corner is like really evolving, right?
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Inshallah, yeah, inshallah.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Sometimes in good ways, like sometimes in bad ways, but like I do feel like our little corner is really evolving.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: We have built there is such a wonderful community of you guys out there that support us, that share our content, that respond, that send us messaging, and it's like that send us messages.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: It's probably the the nicest part of it, I think.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, all these like internet friends, yeah.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: But they love you guys, the nice ones, and then every once in a while we'll get like a really weird.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Which leads us into the next segment of this discussion.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: The comments section.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: You guys, there are comments.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: So for all the people that um that are can you hear me that tissue?
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: God, my nose is running.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Um, for all the people in the comments section that are amazing, just know that we see you, we appreciate you.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: You guys are like, you guys are amazing.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: You guys are literally truly, truly you're amazing.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: And then there are other people just like randomly.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Like, why would you pause?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: So, for example, let's I'm gonna use an example.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: We have like five words or whatever in Arabic that we don't have translations for.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And that video is like doing crazy on both Instagram and TikTok.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna talk about the Naiman?
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: This woman who has a full-time job and a full-time home and a full-time life, misspelled Naiman.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Ya ti ha alfa.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: She does not have a formal education in Arabic.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: No, I don't.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: People, even though we responded to that, still call her out.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, why are you so fuddy?
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: And it's like, it's one thing if you say, Oh, uh, ladies, I just want to point out this is how it's spelled.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: I have no problem.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: But for the people that are like you're gonna use Google again, again, again, still coming.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: You couldn't use it.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, I didn't Google and Google like let me down.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know what to do.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: There's nothing to do with it.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I just thought it was so it was so wrong.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I'm so over.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: I don't even respond to those anymore.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Like, I responded the first couple times, and like there's one But Lena has collected some gems for us to share with you.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Okay, so there's Oh my god, we should have set this to like music or something.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Oh no, it's fine.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: But gems.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: So this I'm gonna segment.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: I just like comment.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I don't know, like the crazy comments we got.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, crazy comments.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: We got there.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: You go, you want to do that again?
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Crazy comments we got.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: See, I wanted the clean one, so I can just insert it in.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Okay, so the first one, it wasn't a comment, it was a message.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: And I think I told you about it.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I was it was like this long diatribe, okay?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: This is my this is literally, I don't know who this person is, and I don't know why they're so interested.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: This this person is clearly like upset.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: He was upset at me for claiming to be an Arab, okay?
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: So I'm just gonna read one part.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Like I'm telling you, this is maybe like seven or eight paragraphs, okay?
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: So I'm just gonna read a small part.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Also, this is a clear effing gimmick.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: You have a visibly black Arab, and you yourself being a white Arab, just to show how diverse the Arab affing world is, okay.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: It's so misleading and it's so untrue because the majority of Arabs are either black or brown.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: The fact that you're white most definitely means you come from European descendants, okay?
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: It's just not documented documented, but you are European because only white people exist in Europe and you're white.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, the majority of Arabs are brown and blacks.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, this guy is clearly like a white supremacist.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Obviously, and I didn't want to share, but I'm like, no, it's crazy.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Like, this is the kind of shit we get.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Like, he's so upset that I claim to be Arab.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Like, he's like, no, you're a European.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: You look European, therefore, you must say you're European.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I I just okay.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Now, right?
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Like, it's insane.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Like, I didn't think you're so this was you know, when they send you a message, you either accept.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm not accepting this, but I did take screenshots because I've I wanted to talk about this.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Like, it's just so insane.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Okay, uh, let's see, what else we have?
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Let's pick the nasty ones.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, this that one that one was a like really nasty one.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Um, let's see here.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this one, they're they're saying it in Arabi.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, here like it says um back to the Naiman.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Kateptu Na'iman Ralot.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, you buhaya all the Arab.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: What does that even mean?
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: That's what I wanted to show to you.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Kateptu naiman ralat.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't know.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Basically say, are these people Arabs?
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Look at the and then the my favorite, and then haha, like laughing, crying in my own job.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Somebody goes, suck!
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: I know this was a hateful thing.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: There was there was, you know, like five haz.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: And then he goes, This is this is these people are Iraqi.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: Bas atakadin, barra warabi, mu look at humil oula, falakta al-imla eyat kun she weared.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, I mean that wasn't as bad.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: No, but it's the first one.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I know, right?
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: We've talked about that.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Anyway, so I've ignored this.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: All right, let's see what we got.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: What else?
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Um, oh, so this guy said, You got the Adolf Hitler badge awarded.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: I don't know why.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: It was for the five Arabic words that shouldn't exist.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: The one we did about Gaza and Palestine.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Like he was so butthurt that I don't know.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't even understand.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Can I tell you guys that there are sometimes comments that I'm just like blocking?
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: No, but like what does that even mean?
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: I don't know, whatever.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Um, so this one is saying, ladies, how about some Iraqi, please?
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Sure, I guess she wants us to do like more Iraqi words.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Okay, I can do that.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: That's not a hateful comment.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: No, this is a nice one.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, you can't file it under my crazy comments we got.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, hold on.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: I thought we were just doing comments.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: I literally I sang to you crazy comments we got.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Um, okay, so these are all nice.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Laza Shui.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: Uh, so someone like with you know the show we did with um with Susan.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: God, you guys are people are so freaking odd.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: I know, and mean.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so someone, I don't even understand this.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: Someone says, Stop being a religious pick me.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: It's the year 2025.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Like, what the fuck does that even mean?
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Is this like young people talk?
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: I I don't understand.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, and then this one says, this isn't really mean, but it's kind of like uh it's like a reality check for you and me.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: She's like, I loved every minute of this episode.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: It's just it's it's like listening to two Arab aunties I never had.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Consider me a new sub.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was a nice comment, but like I'm not ready for the being an Arab auntie.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: We are such Arab aunties.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we are okay.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, dude.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Shout out to that person.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Uh let's see here.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, this one says, this because this is John.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: His name is John.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: He says, Egypt is not your home.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: LOL.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: You don't even have roots there.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: How does he know?
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: What do you know about me, John?
- 9:47unknown: Whatever.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, all right.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: People are so weird.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Like, and this is why I always say, like, if you have honestly, when I see something I don't like, I just like scroll.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: I just scroll.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Like, especially if it's not like if it's just non like if there's like re like whatever, regular content.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Halless, I don't like it, I move on.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: But it's like for you to tell me, like, what do you know about me for me for you to know that I don't have any roots there?
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: What do you know?
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this is always making assumptions.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: It's fine, whatever.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, you know what, keep commenting.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: You help our you help our engagement.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: I don't even care.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Unless it's like really like racist or like stuff like that about it.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Like, no, or like, you know, disparaging the guests we have on it's gonna get deleted right away.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: So this one, this is on YouTube.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and this person follows us and is a fan and whatever, but like I thought her comment was funny because it she kind of like hated on me a little bit, but she's nice, so she says, or or he, I don't're really sure.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Look, with all the love, my ladies, and I adore you.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: First, I'm gonna start with Hanan.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: You seem over everything, and you don't want to talk about anything that is even faintly negative, you re-oversensitize with everything.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: I don't know what that means.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: Lena, I just say you are giving very strong German uh German vibe.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, it is crazy.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, the humming part is crazy.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Remember when I was saying I hate people who hum?
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Okay, uh, it is like you have allergies towards happiness or seeing people marry.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: That's not true, but okay.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Not married, but married.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Like Mary.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Like joy and married.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Um let's see here.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: To have someone clumsy and love, to laugh at my seriously, or someone joyful around you must be a nightmare to you.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Please don't take that badly though.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Legit adore you, my ladies.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: I think Hanan is their control.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was like this person follows us and always commenting nice stuff.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: I think I think this person whatever you know, you know, this but you know, it's fine.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: This person versus like guys get together.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, honestly, and sometimes I will say some of our followers, some of our followers like are like ladies, like you're not yourselves.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Like, what's happening?
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I miss my I miss my ladies or I miss my friends or whatever, and that's fine.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: I don't really know.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: But I don't give German vibes.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: I I have to disagree.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: I don't even know what that means, but it was like very like you know, like I guess um yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna do the nicer ones now, or like some requests or lovely comments from lovely people.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Um, okay, so this one.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: I really love your post.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: It's like having a chat with dear friends.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: So funny, thank you.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, thank you for that person because that's exactly what our intention is.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: This is why I picked this comment because when we started this podcast, it was about hey, just come hang out with us.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: You're just hanging out with us.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: So this is this is perfect.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Honestly, this podcast was just us hanging out.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: And then uh this next person says, Hanan, you should try stand-up comedy.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, I don't know about that.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think you know, honestly, it's not something I've ever thought about.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: And I I love talking to people.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: I just don't, I think that that's that is that's insane to me.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Like that's I think it's amazing the people who could do that, but that is a talent that I do not make.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: This is from the video of the how you want to be a pigeon.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: That's why she said that.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: But those are just my feelings, guys.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: This is somebody with like anxiety and stress.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: This is me just thinking out loud.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, and I didn't want to be what was I I don't want to be a pigeon.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: I wanted to be a seagull, seagull, sorry, not a pigeon.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: I wanted to be I don't want somebody to possibly eat me.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's true.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this one uh from Instagram, you two are so delightful to watch.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: I'm Palestinian, so a lot of the Palestinian words bring such fond memories.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Growing up, my mom would start dinner, would always ask me, put the pull out the tundra for her.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: That's so cute.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: Can I tell you guys when we get comments about how this like reminds people of their childhood or reminds it makes me so happy.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Like, remember I took I had said we had this woman that um oh the one that sent us the to translate or to give the lyrics to, and she was so happy when I sent it back to her.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: And I was like, it just makes my heart happy because like if you like if there's a way that I can I don't know, if there's a way what is something I said, something Lena said, something we said together, bring somebody like you know, just positive memories or opens a window of joy, like I'm here for it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Someone else wanted to know where we're located.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: I don't know why he wanted to know that, but I mean, we're like in the DC area, yeah.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Um I don't think I don't think we've kept that a secret.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we haven't.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: Um, okay.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: So this person says, love it.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Hanan, you crack me up, keep being you, and Lena, I feel for you.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: I think because like, you know, there's a lot of things I don't like that Hanan is totally okay with it.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but this is oh, this is from the video where you were singing, and I was just like trying to get you to concentrate.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Nah will omarjira.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: And then uh someone else says, Do open a group where you can sing.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: And then Hanan, you should sing Fairus for us in another episode.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Um I will have an episode just dedicated to me singing one liners from Fayrus.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, people really like your voice.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Honestly, that's very lovely of you guys.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: I don't think my voice is great.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: I just sing against everyone.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Your voice is nice.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I sing against everybody's will around that.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this was kind of this one, see, this is the one I kind of missed.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: This is kind of like a little bit, it's not mean, but they had some it's like a backhanded compliment.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Okay, so your speed is not catchy, but rapid.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: This is what's they're saying your speed is not catchy but rapid when you translate in Arabic.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: Though the explanation is good.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, so what they're saying when you're translating, okay.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I never claimed it to be like a like a simultaneous or consecutive translation.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: If you want people to learn Arabic, that's not the goal of that's not the goal of this podcast.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Like we do that because it's like these words are fun and they come up in our conversation.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: So, like I don't know why people think we're here to teach you Arabic.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: I'm not Ablahan, exactly.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: And she's not Abla Lina.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: So there's uh here's the other thing that I noticed.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: We we got a lot of um, we get a lot of like non-Arabs, like Greeks and Latinos and um like from all over the world saying how like we have uh Alicia here, she says, I feel the way about going back to Mexico.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: It's the feeling of naturally belonging somewhere, the best, like you know, the going to Yeah, John.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah just because you don't have roots somewhere doesn't mean that you don't vibe with the place that you're in.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Um let's see here, what else?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Um you know who else is out there?
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Tanya, if you're listening.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: She is gonna use one of her comments.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: Tanya, if you're out there listening, girl, we love you.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Tanya is a real one.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: I've known Tanya since like college, and she's a real one.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: She listens, she follows, she subscribes, she comments.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: You're a real one, my girl.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this one is from YouTube.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: I love your podcast.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: You always make me laugh.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: We can always use the laughter in these crazy times.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: And honestly, sometimes, like guys, I don't think you you really I don't think look, Lena and I, a lot of times, we really struggle and battle with how are we gonna do this episode?
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: How are we gonna talk about this?
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: With everything with everything that's happening.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: But honestly, it it's not just not it's not just Palestine.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: It's like everywhere in the world, everywhere, everywhere.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Sucks right now.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Everything sucks right now, even here at home.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Things suck right now.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: And so sometimes you're just like, how am I gonna get on and like be myself and be funny?
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: And are people gonna judge me?
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Are people gonna be like upset that I'm sharing these things?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times, like there are people who are like, you guys, like beladem, you know what I mean?
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Like, or whatever.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like, but at the same time, I'm like, this is me hanging out with Lena.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times there's a lot of you out there that are like our friends now.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: Weirdly, I know it's weird.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know you, IRL, but like you comment, yeah, you leave messages, and like we recognize the names.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: We fill up on it.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: I feel like when we get on to do this, like this is our little way of like communicating with each other.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: And so I don't know if I like would ever leave that behind, but yes, we struggle, we battle with what we can talk about today.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Is this gonna be okay?
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: But these little like chatty things are like my favorite.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: But I also think the um the the structured episodes with guests.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, you guys, last week we did an episode with Sarah Hamdan, yeah, a Palestinian American author.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: First of all, let me tell you something.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: That woman is beautiful, yeah.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Mashallah, she's like masha Allah, masha'Allah, knock on wood.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean, Sarah, if you're watching, girl, by the way, yeah, she's no no, she's just she's amazing.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: She's and it's and it's And make sure to watch her episode because it's already the way that she the way that she talks, the way that she carries, but it's just yeah, I mean she's on the inside beautiful, but mashallah, mashallah, masha Allah, masha'Allah, like minaini.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: She is a gorgeous woman.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, and it's funny because her picture is on the back inside cover of her book, and she looks exactly the same, but it's not no, I think she looks way more beautiful.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: No, no, I know, but I'm saying, like, it's you know, she's but she's beautiful inside and out.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: Like it's just she's she's a great person.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: It was and honestly, guys, I'll tell you what I told her on the episode.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: I, if if you haven't read that book, read that book.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: That book is so beautiful.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: And as as as a as an as a Arab American who grew up here and who wanted something coming of age for myself that represented me, that book.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: I had so many feelings about that book.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you, you watch the episode, you'll see.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: No, it was great.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Like, so I'm just like the comments were done, but I did I did want to mention something.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: There's a video that we posted.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: It was like literally, I I think an eight-second video.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And I told you about this.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm not gonna pick the comments from them.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gotten over 178,000 views, by the way.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Is it on YouTube?
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: It's directed a lot of the people that follow us on YouTube from that.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: That's why I keep that video up.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Even though we get so many hateful comments.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: You know, guys, like, can I can I on that video?
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: I just want to tell you.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: It was a trend.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: It was you guys don't understand.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't want, look.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know why we're so focused on telling people be a good Muslim or be a bad Muslim or and don't be a bad Muslim and why we're there judging anybody's like level of faith.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Why don't you just, if you feel like I'm out here doing something, or whether it's me or Lena or the both of us, if you feel like we're doing something that's not Islamically appropriate, why don't you just like make dua for us and Allah?
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Like that God just guides us to the path of righteousness, right?
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Why do you have to sit here and leave me hateful comments because like I dropped a pair of sunglasses on my nose and I shook my head?
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's it's the haram police.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: But listen, listen, I went through some of those comments.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: I I'm not picking any of them, but I went some, but honestly, to be fair, there was a good 60 to 70 percent people like, dude, what are you guys?
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: Like that like it was positive.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: But the thing is, I'm like, okay, keep talking about it because you guys are directing the people.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: No, but like I get it, like we're not like like just some of the comments in there, and I'm just like, really?
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm not, I'm not gonna deal with it.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna respond.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: I haven't responded to a single comment on there.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I'm like, you know what, I'm gonna keep this video up because it seems to uh direct a lot of traffic to us, and then people get to see what we're about, exactly, and then they follow.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: So, you know what?
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: I'm keeping it up.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna say anything else about that.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, like Hanan said, just make dua if we're doing something.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, what is this?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: I just think it's ridiculous.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: But it's fine.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: Anyway, what else?
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Why does this keep falling?
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: It's it doesn't want to work today, anyway.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: So the other thing is just uh I think we're done with this episode, but please check the description list.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Uh it please check the description in the YouTube video.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Uh, we're gonna have links.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Yes, and I usually I I am gonna do actually do that Instagram carousel today because I think some of the stuff that we've gotten over the last year, the last two, the last couple of months or whatever, some of these places are just like lit amazing.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: But the small business will do a carousel for them.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: But I also want to do like the different campaigns.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Like my daughter had a campaign she wanted me to share, so I'm gonna put it in for the people of Gaza.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: And then there's other links for uh how you can help uh in Sudan, Congo, everywhere.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: Like we'll put all those links in there.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: So please just check it out.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Please, yeah because this is like the least we can do.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: So and we try to remind our viewers and our listeners hey, if you can, even like whatever you can give.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Doesn't nothing is too little or too small.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: Just do your part.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: We're trying to do our part.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: So please just check it out, check out the links, and then Hanan will do the carousel for the small businesses that you guys can support.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: And and I think there's a couple they're Palestinian-owned.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, you know, a lot of them are Palestinian-owned.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Um, but this was a great episode.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: I thought we did well.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, love you guys.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Come back and see us, you know.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: I love you guys, but like like you're like getting too emotional here for me.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, it is not that serious.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: We'll see you guys next time.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: Inshallah.
