- 0:22Speaker 1: Red Conn Studios proudly resents Family Role Podcast, a tabletop
- 0:32role playing game experience starring Alexandria Lexi bows as held
- 0:41the Might they Hex played Warlock posing as this Strong,
- 0:53Arthur Williams has Albion Bond's a Tiefling Monk or A
- 1:00Williams starring as no Dutch Bunny, a Harengon Sharpshire and
- 1:09Deem Boats appearing as born and ork a luckless.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And was honor and the Deem of the Grid. One thing,
- 2:12and it's not recorded on your character sheet because I
- 2:16could not find a place to record it, is that
- 2:19you all have a special ability. For example, Noel can sharpshoot,
- 2:25So if you want to shoot something out of the
- 2:28sky or try to shoot like an arrow out of
- 2:31the sky that's attacking you, you can sacrifice your turn
- 2:35to do that. Obviously, the smaller the object is, the
- 2:39harder it is for you to sharpshoot. You can also
- 2:42make roles to do trick shots like I'm gonna bounce
- 2:46this off that in this because that was your role
- 2:50in the circus was a circus sharpshooter. All these characters
- 2:53come from the Ravenswood Circus so they all have tricks,
- 2:57they play, they're all performers to some extent. Grilled, you
- 3:01have a light and cantrip that you can cast on
- 3:04anything to make it easier to lift. Now, it won't
- 3:07lighten everything. You won't be able to lift a dragon.
- 3:11And if you cast it on living creatures, they get
- 3:14a saving throat. And it's a fairly easy spell to
- 3:18resist because it's a cantrip and not a full on spell.
- 3:23That is her special. And then Arthur, your special is
- 3:28the ability to deflect or catch missiles. Obviously, catching is
- 3:34harder than deflecting. So if you want to take an
- 3:37action like while people fire arrows at you, you've got
- 3:41two hands, so you can take out two arrows that
- 3:44are fired at you by nice, So that is your special.
- 3:49You can also juggle, but that doesn't require a role.
- 3:52That's just you deciding to look.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I mean it's Arthur. He always looks cool.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I also look on artistic. Look at me, I've got
- 4:00paint all over the place.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Well you you did paint up your mask. Mask. You're
- 4:06a very expensive mask to me. I didn't earn the money.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Do you want to share likes? Dice or I have
- 4:11purple purple and blue dice in here.
- 4:14Speaker 3: We're good. She's got several sets in this box that
- 4:17she's got out. I'm fine, we'll try there. So if
- 4:21I needed to get mine, I'm literally are right there.
- 4:24But we're good. Damn We're going to share what she's
- 4:27got here. No worry, I'm gonna put you back.
- 4:29Speaker 5: No, okay, Actually I'm gona go go slock cry, Okay,
- 4:34we're here.
- 4:35Speaker 6: Nope.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I'm just trying to find the character I created to
- 4:38help you all out. Ordan Rurk is a barred also
- 4:42from the Ravenswood Circuit, which is all where you all
- 4:44met and how you all know each other. By the way,
- 4:46are we in this orgust?
- 4:48Speaker 3: Where we is that where we start out? Or we
- 4:50all walk like a human?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Do that? No, we will cover this a little at
- 4:55the beginning, but I will go ahead and tell you all. Now,
- 4:59you all, I've recently left the employment of the circus,
- 5:02the Ravenswood Circus as a circus ran by the feed.
- 5:06So if you join it for whatever reason, you're signing
- 5:12a contract for a while. Think of it like being
- 5:14on the Davy Jones ship in uh to the Caribbean. Yes, yes,
- 5:20it's an indentured servitude. Well you have both. You have
- 5:23all recently earned your freedom. You've worked your contract, so
- 5:27you are now free to go and do your own thing.
- 5:30So you are traveling together because you know each other,
- 5:34so as these adventures continue.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Each other from the circus. But we have left the
- 5:39circus at the start.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Of this because we've done our due diligence, and you
- 5:43all have skills that basically lead towards entertainment. So you
- 5:49traveling around, you're not necessarily looking for adventure. You're not
- 5:54necessarily not but you you have a reason to travel.
- 5:58You have skills to sell at local local bars and
- 6:02taverns and communities and things like that. So with those
- 6:07simple background rules. Other than that, the world is named three.
- 6:11I can actually get you all a copy of the maps.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Yes, I saw it in the little video you can
- 6:20share your screen.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I can. I don't know how yet, but it's.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Down there and you're in your video options on the side.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Let me see up here we.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Go place called Smitty's Garage, Burgers and beer. That's how
- 6:39built about it. There was an ad for it.
- 6:42Speaker 7: On my That's not where divorced fathers with no kids go.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I did so that's that's the map of the world
- 6:53of three. Yes, three is just Earth backwards. I was
- 6:58trying to hurry. That's my good. No, I like it.
- 7:02Now that you've seen the net, we can get started
- 7:05whenever you are ready.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Where are we starting? Where are we when we start this?
- 7:09Speaker 2: At the beginning? When we start this, you guys are
- 7:12in a bar in a little city called cobble Pot,
- 7:16a barn. Cobble Pot okay, Uh, Cobble Pot is a
- 7:21city that's uh mostly known for its pottery, although it
- 7:27is not. At one point their pottery was world fame.
- 7:30It is no longer quite at that level.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Took it away.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you didn't need the map for the whole game.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Okay, he just wanted to show us his map on
- 7:41the map. The map, the map, the map.
- 7:45Speaker 2: But yeah, now there is a section called the wild,
- 7:48which is where the Fay come from. And Ravenswood was
- 7:52a Fay circus, so you're all a bit familiar with
- 7:55the wild. But the wild is a dangerous place too,
- 7:59so yeah, well it sounds wild. With that that being
- 8:04out of the way, we can record and start playing.
- 8:07If we haven't already started recording.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I've been recording this whole time, so you can cut
- 8:11off whatever you need to cut off.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Cool, alrighty, Then any questions before we get started, that's
- 8:17not a genuine question. I'll be on grilleda Noel. Any questions, No,
- 8:23I think I'm good.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I just need to know where we're starting.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Well, you're in the country of a bar in the
- 8:33town of cobble Plat, where there are lots that have
- 8:36been cobbled.
- 8:36Speaker 3: There are lots that have been cobbled with something one
- 8:39did to shoot.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Originally was but fair use has brought it out as
- 8:44a thing that people do when they work, that put
- 8:47things together. Hence a cobbler is just a put together
- 8:52as opposed to a pie. Although I did see a
- 8:55pie yesterday that was like lots of mini pie inside
- 9:00a big pie. So I was intrigued by that because
- 9:04they had apple, which I will eat, but they also
- 9:07had strawberry and cherry which I won't. Now, cabbo Pot
- 9:10is not actually a city on its on its own.
- 9:13It is a city, a crumbling artisan quarter set in
- 9:17a larger city. The larger city is the city of Scythim,
- 9:23and it's Scythim is a bustling city cobble Pot is
- 9:27really more this smaller artistic quarter or used to be.
- 9:32Like I said, uh, their pottery has fallen off in
- 9:35recent years.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Our child's in here trying to gasp me. Don't mind
- 9:39me if I fall over.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Suddenly, let's see quit farting. Once famed for its master
- 9:47potters and enchanted glaze work, cobble Pot is now a
- 9:51shadow of its former self. Kilns like cold alleys are
- 9:57choked with ash, and whispers of the local hands Guild
- 10:03echo through the soot. Now the hands Guild, I'm sorry.
- 10:06Speaker 3: The hands like hands.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Yes, the hands make you. Yeah, that's where it's like
- 10:14the local thieves Guild. Yeah, although a bit darker of
- 10:19a reputation. All are at the Kilnmouth Tavern, tired by
- 10:25Tessa Clay, who is a retired bard to perform at
- 10:30said tavern, and the crowds are let's say, difficult.
- 10:35Speaker 3: It's not exactly like while we're from a circus, normal
- 10:39tavern performances tend to be like singing and dancing, And
- 10:44I'm not necessarily sure that something my character might do.
- 10:48I guess I could probably dance a little. I'm I
- 10:51believe I am agile and fluffy.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Oh you are agile and very fluffy, and but you're
- 10:57also a seven foot tall answer from orphic rabbit with pistols.
- 11:02And no, your characters do not sing or dance. They
- 11:06all have their own things that they do. Yeah, you
- 11:10know your character is a sharpshooter. Arthur encourages the audience
- 11:15to throw things that she then catches or throws back.
- 11:20And Lexi lifts great weights, and her weights are all
- 11:25either wax weights that have been so like her thousand
- 11:28pounds barbell isn't a is a barber wax barbell that
- 11:31just says a thousand on the end so that she
- 11:34can In other.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Words, were Charlatan's is what you're telling me she is.
- 11:40Speaker 2: But she's also a hex blade warlock, which has its
- 11:44own unique abilities.
- 11:46Speaker 3: One would assume, yes, just the name is cool. So yeah,
- 11:51Anthony has really crappy timing. I'm sorry for all the
- 11:54noises outside.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Who is Anthony? The dude who knows that sounds like
- 11:58a weird horror thing.
- 12:00Speaker 3: The dude that is the exact same time was creepy.
- 12:04Speaker 6: It is he.
- 12:05Speaker 2: The dude who moves is hard. The dude who moves there.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Okay, so very very nice Alexandria, Madeline Bo's what are
- 12:14you doing in that darned kitchen? Child has been bouncing
- 12:18off the walls to role play all day long. We
- 12:21sit down to try to start to role playing.
- 12:23Speaker 2: What did you do?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Jess? Across the house? Get nice water?
- 12:26Speaker 2: And your your buddy Albion who has a twinkle in
- 12:30his high in his eye and a larceno his heart,
- 12:33which is the NPC I am playing. I will not
- 12:36always play him, but I felt you might need the
- 12:39extra assistance. Now, going forward, I hope to have guests
- 12:45on from other podcasts to join us to play characters.
- 12:51So yeah, going forward, I hope that to be the case.
- 12:54Right now, I don't have any in the in the pipe,
- 12:56so to speak, but just like imagine Brenda playing somebody
- 13:01you know, that would be so cool anyway.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Never yeah, So.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Now your uncle Danny has expressed interest, but as busy
- 13:10as he's been with his writing and other stuff, I
- 13:14wouldn't know when he could join us for sure. Yeah,
- 13:18but anyway, point being be ready for guests. Also, one
- 13:22other thing for the listeners to know is we will
- 13:24be alternating back and forth between this campaign, the World
- 13:30of Three and Lore for the pages, which I'm not
- 13:34sure yet if Lexi will be a part of or not.
- 13:37Some of the stuff in there is fairly adult. It
- 13:41may be a case by case situation going forward where
- 13:44sometimes she's included and sometimes she's The DMS help her
- 13:48to keep her on the podcast. But yeah, so going forward,
- 13:53it will not always be D and D just happens
- 13:55to be today. Now we are going to break the
- 14:00into our long episodes, so we may hit a point
- 14:05where we say goodbye, like I decide, oh, this is
- 14:08a great place to end, and so we'll do that,
- 14:11and then we will not We'll just go on and play.
- 14:16But that's just a signal, a signal for the listeners
- 14:21to wait for next week's episode. So that being said,
- 14:24any questions before we start other than you know, alrighty.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Ready to start, Ready to start with ice again?
- 14:36Speaker 3: We're good?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Okay. So you are performing at the Broken Kiln Tavern
- 14:42run by Tessa Clay. Like I said, the crowds are
- 14:45not great. There are some who are there to see
- 14:48the show, that's for sure, but it's just that well,
- 14:51it's not even that it's a tavern. Taverns in in
- 14:54this world are places where entertainment can happen, but it's
- 14:59it's just they no longer have the civic pride they
- 15:02once did. And I don't know if you've been to
- 15:04a place where they no longer have pride, and like
- 15:07we're the place where pottery happens. But it's all sort
- 15:10of everybody's sort of states I think at this point, right, Okay,
- 15:15then you know exactly what I'm going for here. Anyway,
- 15:19So as you we.
- 15:20Speaker 3: All agree that there's black and pride.
- 15:23Speaker 2: As you have come off stage, well, as Reordan has
- 15:28come off stage, because since he is the barred and
- 15:32the singer and dancer, he sort of wraps the show up, hey,
- 15:38as he should. So as he comes off stage, you
- 15:42all are gathered at a table nearby the stage. Tessa
- 15:47comes by. She has long red hair into natural curls.
- 15:54She's the curly haired, redheaded girl from Snoopy or something anyway,
- 15:58it doesn't matter, yeah, and she brings you all drinks
- 16:03whatever you tend to drink, probably beer for the for
- 16:06for for Noel, certainly, well they have beer.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Drink beer, okay, so ale me for.
- 16:18Speaker 7: What was that?
- 16:19Speaker 2: Or I'll beyond you drink that fine wine? I think
- 16:23fine wine. She has that.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Chocolate milk.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I was gonna say, Grelda gets Grelda gets an ice
- 16:31cream float.
- 16:32Speaker 5: That's what, Yeah, I would get that.
- 16:35Speaker 2: It sounds good because they like sweet.
- 16:38Speaker 5: So yeah.
- 16:39Speaker 2: So as you all are sitting enjoying your drinks, Tessa
- 16:44comes in and pulls up a seat next to you.
- 16:47She sets down a small bag. It has thirteen gold
- 16:50in it. Not a lot for your two days of performance,
- 16:54but better than nothing.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Silver.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, there's forever and gold.
- 17:00Speaker 3: That is stinky.
- 17:03Speaker 6: They're coming for us. We're under attacked by the sponsors.
- 17:06We'll be right back as soon as we fight them off.
- 17:16Your cords. No, back to the show.
- 17:19Speaker 2: You worked in a circus. You guys are used to
- 17:21pooling money for things. Sure. The only person who ever
- 17:25concluded though.
- 17:26Speaker 3: That makes it a little better from importance included.
- 17:28Speaker 2: So yeah, anyway, Tessa's like, you all do good work.
- 17:33I am sorry that my Taverns days are not as
- 17:36lucrative as they once were, but I might be able
- 17:40to offer you a little more money. It would require you, however,
- 17:45to take on a slightly dangerous task.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Dangerous performing that we can do.
- 17:50Speaker 4: I mean, I can deal with fire.
- 17:53Speaker 2: You've seen that this would be a little more dangerous
- 17:57than performing. Oh oh, we gotta go on Life's and adventure.
- 18:02Small one below the city there is what remains of
- 18:06what we used to call the Shard Market. It is
- 18:08where the finest potters would sell the most beautiful pottery. Unfortunately,
- 18:15the Shard Market is no longer exists these space is
- 18:19still there, but it has been taken over by the hand.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yeah, we've wrote about a little bit about them since
- 18:25we've been in town, or I have at least.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Well, somewhere in that market is the remnants of an
- 18:32amazing kill, kill killed, an amazing killed. Okay, I mean
- 18:38it is the It is the glazed fire kiln, and
- 18:41if we were brought to the surface, it would do
- 18:44go a long way towards restoring cobble Pot's glory such
- 18:48as it was. Unfortunately, we haven't found many who would
- 18:52be willing to stand up to the hands to go
- 18:56and retrieve it.
- 18:58Speaker 3: You think that's something we would be good at. Ivy Sri.
- 19:03Speaker 5: I can help with some of it.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Well, you do wear guns and are a crack shot.
- 19:09Speaker 3: No, I mean, I'm not saying that I would have
- 19:14a problem with taking out a few hands, but we
- 19:19can hear, and I'm asking questions for you, as a
- 19:23tavern owner, why are you approaching us like about this?
- 19:27Speaker 2: Because I built the kilt, I created it of one
- 19:30of three people who did to have it back, to
- 19:33have it in use would feel good, and I am
- 19:36ready to feel good and spread some of that good
- 19:39feeling to my neighbor. Hopefully cobble Pot can reclaim some
- 19:45of its glory. And as for your companions, we know
- 19:50that Albion can catch things thrown at him and even
- 19:56return them. We know that Fay here can lift amazing
- 19:59amount ounce of weight. Surely that translates into combat somehow.
- 20:04And of course, of course you have the bard reordered
- 20:07and Reordan just who is leaning back, kicking back with
- 20:10an ale just sort of like does a salute off
- 20:14of his hat, like yeah, I'm cool, yeah man.
- 20:16Speaker 5: So can we at least go back to our basic
- 20:19grab some deer.
- 20:22Speaker 3: This isn't our race, this is where we're staying currently.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And as for how much, I would give you five
- 20:29hundred goal.
- 20:30Speaker 3: But you you know that's good for just a tavern
- 20:34on to have laying around.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I used to be a bard, if that helps. I
- 20:38spent many years adventuring.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Just saying, I don't know, what do you think?
- 20:46Speaker 4: I mean, couldn't hurt. We always need more money, especially
- 20:51while doing this job. Get away from the performance every
- 20:55once in a while. I mean, come on, living the
- 20:58life in danger isn't half as bad as living life
- 21:02on stage and getting tomatoes thrown at you. What's the
- 21:05worst that could happen?
- 21:07Speaker 3: It was only one tomato puts your belly aching.
- 21:11Speaker 4: I'm not belly aching. I'm just saying, five hundred gold
- 21:15is a good shot. I think we should take it.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Ill.
- 21:19Speaker 3: I didn't have anything going on later anyway, so I'm
- 21:22fine with it. Okay, we bad whatever you want.
- 21:26Speaker 2: She says, to just tell me when you're ready, and
- 21:28I will lead you to the shard market.
- 21:31Speaker 5: I mean, I'm ready.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I guess we would just get our stuff together and
- 21:36we're finished working.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, the gig part of it is over. She
- 21:41wasn't able to pay you very much, but right, that's
- 21:44the life of a gig performance, right, I don't even
- 21:46if she.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Wasn't able to, just I'm still trying to. We must
- 21:52be really poor negotiators because there's four of us and
- 21:56we're splitting thirteen gold. That just the amount is messing
- 21:59with it.
- 22:01Speaker 2: It's essentially it's essentially a door deal. Basically, whatever people
- 22:06pay to hear you, you get a percentage of.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I got Okay, that's that's fairs. It's gonna be rolled out,
- 22:13no problem. Okay, Well I would get my stuff together
- 22:16and let my teammates do whatever.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Alrighty, so is everyone ready? What LEXI marshmallows?
- 22:26Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 22:27Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know why Grelda needs marshmallows, but okay.
- 22:31Speaker 3: You know, if you're gonna go on, it's easy up.
- 22:35She's great, she needs the sugar.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I got nothing, alrighty. Tessa takes you out back behind
- 22:43the kill Mouth Tavern where she lifts up what is
- 22:48essentially a manhole cover, but it doesn't look like what
- 22:53you or I would think of a manhold cover in
- 22:55the modern day. It is a large iron lid that
- 22:58has been fastened into the ground, and before she can
- 23:02even lift it, she says a couple of words over it,
- 23:07and you see these sigils on it light up, then fade,
- 23:11and then she sticks a metal thing into these two holes,
- 23:15spins it and lifts it and it looks pretty heavy,
- 23:20but it does lead into a set of stairs going
- 23:22down and it is very dark. Now for most of you,
- 23:27that's not going to matter. The Fay note Glenn, Greldon, Noel,
- 23:33and Albiyond all have dark vision or some form of it.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I was gonna say, I'm pretty sure my hair gone
- 23:40has the ability to see in the dark.
- 23:43Speaker 2: So yes, the only person who will not be able
- 23:46to see in total darkness is Reordan. But he's got
- 23:50a lantern, so he will take up the rear with
- 23:54his lantern. So as you go down this this set
- 23:58of stairs and it goes down for a while. The
- 24:00more the further down you go, the more humid it becomes.
- 24:05There is ash caked on the walls. It just it
- 24:09is not a pleasant experience. By the time you get
- 24:12to the bottom of the staircase, you feel like you've
- 24:15been walking for a really long time and the air
- 24:18is packed with humidity, so sweat is breaking out on
- 24:23you almost immediate. But there is a long tunnel that
- 24:27leads forward, so you follow that and eventually it opens
- 24:31up into this large chamber and you see these ripped tents,
- 24:38collapsed stalls, and several broken kilns where pottery was once made.
- 24:45Clearly this was the Sharp market once upon a time.
- 24:50But because it's in an eight like, it's eight different
- 24:54roads meeting at the center, creating this plaza of tents
- 24:59that were they used to sell kilns and kiln supplies
- 25:03and art and whatnot. Yeah, it's not gonna be an
- 25:06easy choice to find where the uh yeah, no, I'm fine,
- 25:11it's gonna be that. It's gonna be a little harder
- 25:13to find where the glazsfire kiln is?
- 25:15Speaker 3: All right? Well, and no, I goes up to one
- 25:18of these collapsed stalls and takes a he's a broken
- 25:23pottery and just kind of throws it into the middle
- 25:26of one of the aisles, watches it break, and says,
- 25:33you know.
- 25:34Speaker 2: I already got rolled up soon you hear whistling.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Oh no, you're welcome.
- 25:40Speaker 7: Noel, girl, were you needed to.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Do as you guys stand make ready, whatever you're doing.
- 25:49You see a figure come into view dressed all in black.
- 25:54It's a male. He's got a black hood and a
- 25:58black wrap around his face and no so all you
- 26:02can really see is his eyes. But he is flipping
- 26:07a dagger up and down, which he flips it into
- 26:11the air, catches it, flips it again, and he's whistling
- 26:14so clearly he's not expecting trouble.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Okay, does he see us or he's just in his
- 26:22own han't yet?
- 26:23Speaker 2: He clearly hasn't yet, he hasn't reacted to you.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, Well, this man has a dagger that he's
- 26:29playing with. Yeah, just just playing with Yeah. I don't
- 26:33think I want to interact with this guy.
- 26:35Speaker 2: But why not.
- 26:36Speaker 3: He has a dagger and he's playing with it. We
- 26:40all have daggers, probably, well I do. I don't care if.
- 26:46I mean, I'm a sharpshooter, so I know at least
- 26:50have something.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I mean, I haven't. I have like a little blade
- 26:54of I don't know why I have all that stuff.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Okay, And so we can only see eyes and he's
- 27:01playing catch with an other.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah, what you can see his form, But the only
- 27:06thing that's revealed underneath all this black clothing he's wearing
- 27:10is his eyes. Gotcha.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Well you would have to actually like go up to
- 27:15him to choke him. Yeah, but I just choke him.
- 27:18Speaker 4: We don't even know if this is a threat yet,
- 27:20though I might.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Noel tries to get closer to him sneakily, so we
- 27:28need a little more stealth check.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Stealth check.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I was gonna say that's gonna require some D twenties
- 27:35being rolled.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Okay, I'm good with that. I can roll into twenty
- 27:39over your hands.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Do I have to roll D twenty if you're going
- 27:42to sneak with them? Yes, eleven, anybody else sneaking.
- 27:46Speaker 5: Or just I'll sneak up to him and choke him
- 27:50D twenty.
- 27:50Speaker 2: And you need to roll it and tell me what
- 27:52you get, kiddo.
- 27:53Speaker 4: We don't even know if this guy is a threat
- 27:55yet under.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Nineteen okay, yes, Grelda is able to sneak up behind him.
- 28:02He does not notice Noel for quite a while. When
- 28:07he does, Grelda is behind him and has her hand
- 28:12on his throat. He lets the knife fall to the
- 28:15ground and holds up his hands, like, don't hurt me, sir.
- 28:19Speaker 3: What are you doing here?
- 28:20Speaker 2: This is the home of the hands, This is where
- 28:23we live, This is where we gather, This is where
- 28:25we divide our loot. Why are you in our home?
- 28:30Speaker 3: To get the kiln and get out? We're only in trouble.
- 28:33Mostly well easily Grilda does, but for the most part she's.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Well does, but she's a bit much anyway.
- 28:39Speaker 5: If I get to a hyperbem, I thill a glass
- 28:42at you.
- 28:43Speaker 3: If you bowling Mockbrey and handed around his neck, you
- 28:47already have a handle.
- 28:49Speaker 5: I'm kind of getting crazy from the bost Fellows.
- 28:53Speaker 2: He's like, no need to look. If you take that
- 28:59passageway over there, it does lead to the Glaze Fire kiln.
- 29:03But it's not unprotected.
- 29:05Speaker 4: We don't need it to be.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Oh why do you have it protected?
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't. It was protected before we moved into
- 29:12the tunnels.
- 29:13Speaker 3: What's protecting it?
- 29:15Speaker 2: Well, us for one. And then you just.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Said before people live where they live.
- 29:22Speaker 2: What why are you coming down on me? Have you
- 29:25seen the economy? It's horrible. So I steal stuff doesn't
- 29:29mean I should lose my life.
- 29:31Speaker 3: You have a hand around your throat.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I'd recommend you watch your tone with us.
- 29:38Speaker 5: We're gonna die, won't They'm gotta do it.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Okay he shuts up.
- 29:45Speaker 3: All right, So wherever he pointed us, just throw out
- 29:49my hands and go, okay, let's go see what's going
- 29:52on with this kiln. And I had that direction.
- 29:54Speaker 9: I I thank you, sir for your cooperation, and I
- 29:58just I'm gonna head out. I'm walking with Noel to
- 30:03where he pointed us to go, So can I go?
- 30:05Speaker 3: Then my guest bye, pick outside of it. So apparently
- 30:12Grell does bringing up the rear. What's going on with
- 30:15our bard?
- 30:16Speaker 2: He's actually in back because if he goes in front,
- 30:19he effectively blinds you all.
- 30:21Speaker 3: I don't know how he does seven foot tall, but whatever.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Because he has to have a light to see you
- 30:29don't fair enough, gotcha? So he doesn't blind you, but
- 30:33he does stop your dark vision. And the way I
- 30:36understand it, most creatures with dark vision would much prefer
- 30:40to use it than light. So he is taking up
- 30:43the rear to keep his light from messing with your
- 30:46all's vision.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Gotcha.
- 30:48Speaker 2: And as you all are leaving, Riordan like whips him
- 30:52a token, and it's just a little brass token. On
- 30:57one side is a picture of Riordan's face. On the
- 31:00other is Barret Extraordinary available for hire. Nice, And he
- 31:05flips the guy I'd took and he's like, if you
- 31:08all do get togethers and need a performer, and he
- 31:11flashes a beaming smile. The guy drops it and is
- 31:14like it runs away, going to inform somebody of your presence.
- 31:19Speaker 3: One would imagine, thanks, by the ways, of course.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Who are you thinking?
- 31:26Speaker 3: No, Well, I was thanking Greda for choking the thief
- 31:30and starring trouble.
- 31:32Speaker 5: See are our noble allies, and you should do all
- 31:36you can.
- 31:37Speaker 10: Egg Hello listeners of Family Podcast. My name is Nicola
- 31:42Bardon and I'm a big fan of the podcast. I

- 32:09got some of the stars telling me some hilarious and
- 32:12sometimes heartbreaking stories from their times in the show. So
- 32:15when you're finished with this episode of Family Plot, come
- 32:17and give me a little follow over on tis Yourself.
- 32:19I look forward to seeing you there. Now back to
- 32:22Family Plot.
- 32:24Speaker 8: Do you ever want to be a guest and a
- 32:26super cool podcast hosted by a glamorous power couple from
- 32:29their cutting edge home studio on the outskirts of a
- 32:32major metropolitan world hub Hollywood. Anyone us two until then,
- 32:39Let's pretend one of these days you might get a DM,
- 32:43a PM, an EM, or even a message in a
- 32:46bottle inviting you to join my husband Deny for an
- 32:49hour or two in hour chat lab working on solutions
- 32:53for all the world's problems. And when you are invited,
- 32:57there's only one response, yeah uh.
- 33:03Speaker 2: And now to the shoe. So as you walk down
- 33:07this clearly what was once a place where people would
- 33:11would walk to the market. It was just a walkway.
- 33:15The floor is covered in soot, the walls are covered
- 33:18in soot. Clearly there was a big fire here once
- 33:20upon a time.
- 33:22Speaker 11: Huh.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And as you are walking down the hallway, it opens
- 33:26up into kind of not really a room, but it's
- 33:30like two alcoves and they're they're pretty deep set, so
- 33:34it gives the resemblance.
- 33:37Speaker 7: Of a.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Small circular room. On either side in these alcoves is
- 33:44a statue of a kiln, not a working one. It
- 33:47cobble pot This is back from the ancient days when
- 33:50this place really was a place where pottery was highly
- 33:55regarded and their mastery of it was second to none.
- 33:59But also in this area are three more people dressed
- 34:04in all black. One of them is clearly at least
- 34:08half work. You can tell because you can see the
- 34:11green around his eyes. And the others are humans. And now,
- 34:17as opposed to this last guy who wasn't paying attention,
- 34:21these three are. They begin to draw knives. They don't
- 34:28ask questions, They just begin to press forward.
- 34:31Speaker 5: See wait they can I run up to them and up.
- 34:38Speaker 2: You would need a die initiative?
- 34:41Speaker 3: Oh, trying to get killed.
- 34:45Speaker 5: I had got that, y'all.
- 34:48Speaker 4: No, no, you're you're gonna get us killed.
- 34:52Speaker 3: We're rolling for initiative, yes, dijentes, sure, yes, eight. What
- 34:58you just had is one?
- 34:59Speaker 6: Two?
- 35:00Speaker 3: Up another eight? Wait kill we will eights? They no
- 35:08Arthur five?
- 35:10Speaker 2: Okay, that's okay. You you clearly have out done that.
- 35:17Oh okay, you see yeah, you see them coming. Uh.
- 35:21The only one who who doesn't is Reordan, who goes
- 35:25to pull his his rapier and drops it, and you
- 35:29hear them cursing behind you.
- 35:31Speaker 3: If I able to double shot, you are as.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Long as you hit with the first shot, you can
- 35:37fire a second.
- 35:38Speaker 3: So they all have their knives. I got an eight
- 35:42and she got an a. We're both of the same.
- 35:45Speaker 12: So I pull out my two pistols and stare them
- 35:49down and go and go what two nights to my
- 35:54two pistols beat their knives.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Even though there's three of them.
- 35:57Speaker 2: I think, gotcha, and they can.
- 36:00Speaker 5: I felt my sharp candy cane at them.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I just have my pistols and say, Hi, I don't
- 36:07know that you have a sharp candy cane. I suppose
- 36:09I could allow it. I just said you could just
- 36:13use your weapons. I forget what I armed you with,
- 36:16but it's in your character sheet.
- 36:18Speaker 4: All hold on, what do you have a citar?
- 36:24Speaker 8: You have.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Two daggers and a sickle?
- 36:29Speaker 5: What's a sickle?
- 36:31Speaker 3: Can you explain a sickle to the child?
- 36:34Speaker 2: A sickle is it's a handle and it has a
- 36:38curved blade on it. They used to use them to
- 36:41cut wheat and things, but they're also quite handy weapons.
- 36:45Speaker 5: Honestly.
- 36:46Speaker 13: Yeah, I'll use that, which actually looks kind of what
- 36:50candy can actually, So.
- 36:54Speaker 5: Paint it like a candy.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, and we came from a circuit, so that
- 36:59makes sense.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Yeah, let's pretend I just painted it so candy.
- 37:04Speaker 2: That's fine. You would need to roll the hand pick
- 37:06a candy cane. You would need to roll the hit
- 37:10with your candy cane. Sickle roll two hits.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Is she rolling her D twenty to hit? Yes, seven seventeen.
- 37:19Speaker 2: That is an easy hit. It should say on your
- 37:22on your character sheet, how much damage the sickle does.
- 37:25You should roll that cickle.
- 37:28Speaker 3: One D four plus two slashing.
- 37:32Speaker 2: So okay, deep four is the triangle.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Triangle roll that and whatever number is straight up and
- 37:43down is what you do. So two plus two so
- 37:47she does four damage.
- 37:48Speaker 2: So she slices out with her slickle. Sickle catches one
- 37:52of the guards across the chest. Uh and he begins
- 37:56bleeding and he takes a step back. You're just holding one,
- 38:01holding your pistols on one. Yeah, Noel, Yeah, I.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Haven't attempt anyone yet. I'm just I just said hello,
- 38:10and I've got them out waiting to respond if one
- 38:17of them makes a move.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Okay, I'll beyond.
- 38:20Speaker 5: What are you doing the group, y'all?
- 38:23Speaker 7: What?
- 38:24Speaker 4: Okay?
- 38:24Speaker 3: So, so there's three of them standing in between us
- 38:28and we're headed and Geralda attacked. I'm assuming the closest
- 38:34one to her.
- 38:36Speaker 2: That's what I was now bleeding.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I am standing with my two pistols prepared. If one
- 38:44of them makes a move to us, what are you doing?
- 38:48Speaker 7: Okay? So I'm looking at weapons here, Do I like
- 38:54have a spear?
- 38:56Speaker 3: Whatever is listed in your weapons?
- 38:57Speaker 4: That's what you've got weapons, crossbow hands, simitar? Is that sc.
- 39:05Speaker 3: Yes?
- 39:06Speaker 4: Okay, so I want to talk with my sentatar.
- 39:09Speaker 11: Okay, D twenty Oh that is awful. Seven yep, that
- 39:15is not a hit. Good try because okay, rolls and then.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, sometimes it's just that rolls. Baby.
- 39:26Speaker 2: The one that got slashed in the chest pulls something
- 39:30off of his belt, and I have dropped my die
- 39:33that I was going to roll.
- 39:34Speaker 3: So hang on, diamond looking one right that was like
- 39:40percent huh dj it is the diamondy one that has
- 39:45like percent right?
- 39:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Right, I'm just trying to get out what I needed
- 39:51in case for using for rolling.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Okay. The one who was injured pulls something off his
- 39:58belt and drops it. A cloud of smoke envelops him.
- 40:03He is going to start using that to stealth. However,
- 40:07since you have guns out and drawn, you can fire
- 40:11upon him before you fade all with his stealth. You
- 40:17won't if you don't fire while he's dropping the smoke bomb.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Okay, So yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and attempt to
- 40:24fire him when he goes and drops that. Seven.
- 40:30Speaker 2: No, nope, not enough.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Well wait, wait, wait, wait wait I was I was
- 40:35rolling with my D ten. I need to roll with
- 40:36the D twenty, don't I?
- 40:38Speaker 2: Yes, D twenty would be.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Uh sorry four?
- 40:42Speaker 5: Oh I can't throw one of my weapons at him.
- 40:46Speaker 3: No, you already had your turn.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Okay. So one has has vanished in a smoke cloud.
- 40:55The others have knives out, and one hurls his no
- 41:00knife at Noel, and the other hurls IS knife at Grilda.
- 41:05Knife hurled it. Noel misses. All right, girl, the misses.
- 41:11The knife hurld at Noel is coming forward your shoulder.
- 41:15Speaker 5: I have how you use your spells to block it?
- 41:20Speaker 3: Can I use my lucky footwork to try to dodge?
- 41:24Speaker 2: Sure?
- 41:25Speaker 3: It says, So what do I roll for that?
- 41:30Speaker 2: That's just a dext roll.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Which is D twenty sixteen?
- 41:34Speaker 2: Okay?
- 41:35Speaker 3: Is this says MBM is thirteen.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Okay, all right, yep. It is a close thing. But
- 41:42you managed to dodge the blade.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Nice try.
- 41:49Speaker 2: And so there are two remaining you don't know where.
- 41:54Speaker 3: There were three? Yeah, okay, you got it, Yes.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Yes, one van cloud of smoke. The other two are
- 42:02right still there. So uh, D twenty is for initiative.
- 42:08Reordan scoops up his rape ear aha, nine men was
- 42:13eleven eight okay, oh, I'll be on. What do you
- 42:19want to do?
- 42:21Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 42:23Speaker 7: Okay, I'm thinking we're gonna try the crossbow this time.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Roll two hit D twenty. Right, yep, that's enough.
- 42:34Speaker 3: You're beneath the saturns. Would you like?
- 42:35Speaker 7: What so that's enough?
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yes, that's what you said. That was enough?
- 42:40Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, I hit him.
- 42:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Well you need to roll for for damage.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Roll to see where your damage is.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Dice there.
- 42:50Speaker 3: It tells you, based on what you're using, what dice
- 42:53to use on the weapon. The third column over told
- 42:58you tells you what type of diet mm so in
- 43:02the weapon area. Whatever you used, says the name. Then
- 43:06it says what you needed, what it hits, and it
- 43:12tells you the damage. The damage is what you're It.
- 43:15Speaker 4: Doesn't say it on here.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I'll be right there.
- 43:20Speaker 3: You don't have to do you don't have to do that.
- 43:21I can go show him.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Okay, I'm closer.
- 43:25Speaker 3: All right, Hi, dad's appearing. I see them down here
- 43:32where the web. This is your dice, this is so
- 43:37what did you used?
- 43:39Speaker 7: I used the crossbow.
- 43:42Speaker 14: Okay, go back up, where's your crossbill?
- 43:45Speaker 7: Not here said that.
- 43:47Speaker 4: It's not over here, like they're different.
- 43:50Speaker 7: There's you don't have a cross brow. There's dagger, dagger, spear, firebolt,
- 43:55on ron stark and on arms strike. But the here
- 43:59it says cross hands, scimitar, short sword, simple weapons.
- 44:04Speaker 3: That doesn't mean you.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it says weapons it should have it.
- 44:09Speaker 2: It says those are example weapons. The weapons you actually
- 44:12have are in your Oh so you need.
- 44:15Speaker 4: To use one of these, okay, well, which you've already hit.
- 44:20Speaker 3: So just use whatever out of this that you have
- 44:24and then roll.
- 44:24Speaker 14: Based on this if that makes sense.
- 44:27Speaker 4: I don't know what this means.
- 44:29Speaker 14: You don't know what what means. So you're gonna use
- 44:33Like if it says one D four, you're gonna use
- 44:36a D four.
- 44:37Speaker 7: If it says one D ten, you use a D
- 44:40ten one D six plus four.
- 44:43Speaker 14: So a six is a squared ice, So roll that
- 44:46whatever you get an add for.
- 44:48Speaker 7: Five plus four, that's gonna be nine.
- 44:52Speaker 2: So and what are you using?
- 44:54Speaker 4: Uh, I'm using spear.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Okay, so you jabbed the guy with the spear, he collapses,
- 45:02he's dead. You you have killed him in a single shot.
- 45:07Grillda or wait, no, I believe it's okay, grillda, What
- 45:13do you want to do? You have a sickle and
- 45:18you have daggers. You also have magic, you can I
- 45:21believe sleep is one of your spells. Maybe, but I
- 45:25don't remember. Off the top of my head. I can
- 45:28find out. Give me just half a second.
- 45:30Speaker 5: Wasn't one of the spells to burn the enemy?
- 45:35Speaker 2: You have fairy fire? But that's not an enemy burning spell.
- 45:38That's uh yeah. It lights them up to make them
- 45:41easier to hit, is what it does. It doesn't actually
- 45:44burn them. Yes, it's a sparkly spell. Hang on, hang on,
- 45:50hang on. Ooh, you have a spell called Hellish rebuke
- 45:55and you have a spell called hex you do it
- 45:59curses them? Well, then you don't even need to roll.
- 46:02I just need to roll a saving throw. Unfortunately, he
- 46:05made the saving throw, so he remains uncursed for now.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Okay, two guys or we are down to one.
- 46:17Speaker 2: We're down to one with one having escaped.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Well, then I'm going to take a shot at our
- 46:23last remaining dude, Come on, better, better roll seven?
- 46:30Speaker 5: Have people all but other people?
- 46:33Speaker 3: Okay?
- 46:34Speaker 2: I miss okay, and Riordan jams his rapier forward ah,
- 46:42striking the individual and doing jams him in the arm.
- 46:48The guy is not dead, but he is bleeding, so
- 46:51a new round of uh initiative. Riordan got an eleven eleven.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Probably gotten eleven, also seventeen. He goes first again.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Yep, so Albion, what do you want to do now?
- 47:09Speaker 3: I see?
- 47:11Speaker 4: I think I'm gonna do firebolt?
- 47:13Speaker 2: Okay, you don't even need to roll. The HiT's magic
- 47:16so failed saving throw, so go ahead and roll your damage.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Is it this one?
- 47:23Speaker 7: This dice?
- 47:24Speaker 2: I don't know? Oh sorry, I was looking at the adventure,
- 47:28not your pretty face.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Hang on and it looks like a diamond.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Yes, yes that's inside it. Yes eighty, so eight that
- 47:37would be eight. But that's enough to finish him off.
- 47:42So you hit him with a firebolt and he falls
- 47:45to the ground.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Nice.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Riordan looks at you. I had him, puts his rape
- 47:55your away.
- 47:59Speaker 3: He lays there smoking, and nothing's left.
- 48:03Speaker 5: Let's pretend I just ate the rest of our hysh fellows.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Girls are sitting there munching on a marshmallow. You don't
- 48:15have to say. Let's pretend that's you. Just say, girl
- 48:18that eats her marshmallows. Okay, Okay, so we've defeated two
- 48:25one got away, No two got away, so no, no.
- 48:32Speaker 4: One got away to were dead the first.
- 48:35Speaker 3: One go to?
- 48:36Speaker 6: Remember how about the twisted snake?
- 48:41Speaker 3: Oh?
- 48:42Speaker 6: Sorry, didn't see you there. Please enjoy these words from
- 48:45our sponsors. Well, all right, do you win this red
- 48:48school here? Wow? The vilet is defeated. You enjoyed those
- 49:01words from our sponsors. Now let's get back to the shoe.
- 49:04Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's two two.
- 49:07Speaker 3: We two have gotten away into it. It is so
- 49:11now that they're gone, what does our surroundings look like?
- 49:15Speaker 2: Well, again, you're in this straight shot hallway moving forward.
- 49:20Now that they're gone, moving forward?
- 49:23Speaker 3: Oh wait, wait, can we check the corpses see if
- 49:29they put anything on them?
- 49:30Speaker 2: Sure? Sure, good.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Non goes up and just kind of searches the bodies
- 49:35real quick.
- 49:37Speaker 2: You come up with a grand with a grand total
- 49:40of seven gold pieces, so that brings your you know,
- 49:44your total up to twenty five hundred and twenty if
- 49:47you're successful and don't die, Noel, Yes, you and those
- 49:53bunny ears pick up movement behind you.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Okay, well I flip around to look and see what's
- 50:01going on behind me.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Whatever it is, it's far enough away. You can't see it,
- 50:06but myers are sticking up. But yeah, you can hear
- 50:12whispers and movement behind you. Now it's a fair ways
- 50:15off yet, but be careful.
- 50:17Speaker 3: I think we've got somebody coming up on our rear.
- 50:20Hunter tails run up to them, and no, there's nobody
- 50:24to run up to. I just hear them far away.
- 50:29But keep moving forward.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Okay, Well about every sixty feet you past another one
- 50:35of these big alco most of them so far, other
- 50:39than the first, have been empty. But now you are
- 50:45in this large room. It is six sided. There are
- 50:51six sides to this room. There are the remains of
- 50:57once beautiful tapestries hanging on the wall, and what's remaining
- 51:02of the tapestry, so you have to assume what was
- 51:05there before is kind of the same. Have these images
- 51:09of people shopping and people making pots and so it
- 51:15was market images basically images of the market, but really
- 51:19well done, really nicely done, which should tell you.
- 51:22Speaker 3: How hand painted wall murals.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Kind of accept these are. These are tapestries, so they're
- 51:30brocaded velvet silk bas relief what they call. So yeah,
- 51:39but they're they're also old and tattered, so they've been
- 51:42rotting for a while. Okay, Now in the center of
- 51:46the room there is a small dais, a kind of
- 51:51a shelf, kind of a table, but it's made out
- 51:54of marble. And on top of that is a what
- 51:59appears to be a pseudo dragon about a foot tall,
- 52:04brilliant red with a with a bronze or gold stomach,
- 52:10a tail curved around at the bottom. Almost looks like
- 52:14it's actually leaking poison from the little hook on this tail.
- 52:19I mean, whoever designed this went really really well.
- 52:25Speaker 3: Oh it's interesting.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Hm hmm.
- 52:29Speaker 3: And what does it look like it's made out of?
- 52:32You said it's a pseudo dragon? Can we tell what
- 52:34it's made out of just by looking at it?
- 52:36Speaker 2: It appears to be made out of metal, a pierced interesting.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Other than how we And this isn't an alcohol or
- 52:49it's a whole room.
- 52:51Speaker 2: This is a whole room and it's just on a dais.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Yes, is there is there another entrance slash exit?
- 53:02Speaker 2: There are actually two. There's two larger doors which are
- 53:07open and you can see they lead to stairs up
- 53:10very like the ones you came through. And then there
- 53:14is another smaller door that is shut and will not open.
- 53:19Speaker 3: Thanks for letting us know that we won't waste our
- 53:21time trying to open it.
- 53:23Speaker 5: What if we find randall ex explosives in the world
- 53:29in the room.
- 53:30Speaker 3: So I'm pretty sure the dragon is what we're looking for,
- 53:35but I'm a little concerned because it just seems a
- 53:40little odd, doesn't it to anyone else?
- 53:43Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 53:43Speaker 7: Anyone doesn't seem.
- 53:45Speaker 4: A little odd that there's just a dragon statue here?
- 53:49Speaker 2: Should we break it?
- 53:50Speaker 3: Open? Break it?
- 53:52Speaker 5: Yeah? Okay, because there might be like somebodey in there.
- 53:57There might be some secret money. Does anybody agree with me?
- 54:02Speaker 4: No?
- 54:03Speaker 7: No.
- 54:04Speaker 4: What I think we should do is we should take
- 54:06a closer look at the dragon statue to see if
- 54:09it has like any poles or switches for that door
- 54:13that won't open.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Help yoursel So I I.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Want to go up to I want to go up
- 54:19to that dragon statue, and I wanna I want to
- 54:21mess with it. I want to see if there's anything metal.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Well, the statue, as I said, appears to be made
- 54:27out of metal. But as you approach it, its head
- 54:31moves and it looks right at you. Oh okay, And
- 54:36then it opens its mouth and it says in a
- 54:39voice that sounds somewhere between like a human with with
- 54:46with a throat issue or perhaps molten metal running. It says,
- 54:52I always run but never walk. I have a bed
- 54:55but never sleep. I have a mouth but never talk.
- 55:00What am I rittle? River? It lowers its head and
- 55:07the door that was locked opened.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Nice. Yes, we'll stop playing with him. That all lot,
- 55:14that won't happen. Okay, Well, Noel kind of flips her ears. Yeah,
- 55:21I know, I'm just that good for the door.
- 55:25Speaker 5: Very suspicious. Wef there's like people about to attack, and.
- 55:31Speaker 4: We talk them back.
- 55:34Speaker 3: The whole idea. So Noel headed for the door. Whatever
- 55:39y'all are doing, I'm gonna make sure.
- 55:41Speaker 5: The anemies come up into this room.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Well, I already told you somebody's coming up behind us.
- 55:48But Ableanne, what are you doing.
- 55:50Speaker 5: I'm gonna protecting.
- 55:51Speaker 3: I'm following to the door.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I will protect you guys outside of the room.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Okay, apparently grub that doesn't want to go into the room,
- 56:01what is our bard friend.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Doing following you all?
- 56:05Speaker 13: But kindly said girl that didn't want to go through
- 56:07the door, because I want to protect y'all outside of
- 56:11the door.
- 56:14Speaker 2: Reordan points out, girl, Dad, I don't think you're thinking
- 56:18tactically here, if we're in the room, they have to
- 56:22get through the door to get to us, and only
- 56:24one person can get through that door at a time.
- 56:26Speaker 3: So girl, do you come with us? All right? So
- 56:29we all go into the room that opened when I
- 56:33answered the riddle.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Okay, So you get in the room and there is
- 56:40this kill and it is it's big. Now you'll be
- 56:44able to lift and carry it out, but it'll take
- 56:47two of you to do.
- 56:48Speaker 5: It, right, get light with my badget Oh.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that would work. That would work. Now. In addition,
- 57:01on one like on the walls are all these beautiful pots.
- 57:07Speaker 9: Uh.
- 57:08Speaker 2: These are classic cobble pot glazed pots of the highest
- 57:13quality quality that hasn't been seen in years. Also on
- 57:19the wall is a ceramic mask.
- 57:24Speaker 3: How big is the mask?
- 57:27Speaker 2: It's big enough to cover your face.
- 57:30Speaker 3: It's so like, I'm thinking, I want to go over
- 57:36and grab the mask and put it on my face
- 57:38because I'm feeling sassy now that I solved.
- 57:42Speaker 2: A riddle, it would fit you.
- 57:44Speaker 3: Okay, that's what I do. I go over and take
- 57:46the mask off the wall and put on my face.
- 57:48Speaker 2: And at first it's it's not quite comfortable, but it
- 57:53almost seems like it adjusts to your face and then
- 57:57it feels quite comfortable. Looks like an anthropomorphic bunny wearing
- 58:01a ceramic mask with a big, funny looking smile on it.
- 58:06Speaker 4: You look like an evil villain from a movie.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Even better? All right, we take Kim and get the
- 58:16cure before gets handy.
- 58:21Speaker 5: Did I always use my lighted magic?
- 58:24Speaker 3: Got it?
- 58:25Speaker 2: No?
- 58:26Speaker 3: You've got to do that? So all right?
- 58:29Speaker 5: So h Galda is that?
- 58:33Speaker 6: Like?
- 58:34Speaker 3: All right?
- 58:35Speaker 5: So Galda uses her magic, her light and magic on the.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Count so that she can carry it out for us. Yeah,
- 58:47because that's why we keep a strong fairy.
- 58:50Speaker 2: And she uses the light and magic and it is
- 58:55now light girl that couldn't carry it by herself.
- 59:00Speaker 13: That's what you're gonna do so other people can fight.
- 59:03AI be a villain pabond.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Do you want to try to grab a couple of
- 59:08the pops off the walls or we just gonna get
- 59:11while the gitten's good?
- 59:13Speaker 2: You know what?
- 59:14Speaker 15: Yeah, I'm gonna grab a couple of pots off the walls,
- 59:17just so I can see if I can get a
- 59:19little money off him.
- 59:20Speaker 3: When I mean all about the cash.
- 59:23Speaker 4: All about that cross grab you you know me?
- 59:26Speaker 2: Huh Okay, as you guys come out of the of
- 59:33the room with a kiln and your pots.
- 59:38Speaker 6: And your mask.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Two daggers come from the darkness and one sticks in
- 59:43the wall behind you. One of them hits Reordan. Oh okay,
- 59:51sticks in his shoulder. He pulls it out. He's bleeding freely,
- 59:54but he and he does not look happy, but he's
- 59:57not dying.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: Like any of us thought we'd even need one bandage.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: I thought we need a bill it's sober.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Reordaned and says you goot.
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: Y'all, I brought a bandage. You know, I'm a little
- 1:00:14bit always prepared.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: We're not good.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Let's see a bandage is in in this game is
- 1:00:22water and then some cloth that you wrap around the wound.
- 1:00:26You can try to do that if you like.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: No, I'll ask Riordan if he was good.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: It's like, let's get out of here before something worse happened.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: That's that was the plan.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Good plan?
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: So so so then, well, well, did puts on the bandage?
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Okayba wants to put a bandage on him real quick?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: All right, and yeah it helps a little, but he'll
- 1:00:52need either a healing potion or some kind of magical
- 1:00:57healing when you all get to where you're going.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Well, we're making like a tree and leafing.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Okay, as as you all travel along. As you all
- 1:01:10travel along, all of a sudden, three more daggers come
- 1:01:14out of the darkness at you. Now. They bounce off
- 1:01:16the walls behind you. Nobody got hit, but it's clear
- 1:01:21they're trying to track you now, So just walking.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Now, we're like a cup a running for the hills
- 1:01:31the back the way we came.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Okay, double time in it, move, move, move, we gotta
- 1:01:36get them. You get back through where you had the
- 1:01:39encounter with the three guards. Their bodies have been removed.
- 1:01:47You hear lots of movement around you, none of it close,
- 1:01:52but it's clear they're trying to close in.
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: Get your guts out, get your duds out.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: So now the run to the Okay, you made it
- 1:02:03back to the stairs that it lead up to behind
- 1:02:07the uh the broken kiln tavern, And as you get there,
- 1:02:13you hear like a rush of people behind you, like
- 1:02:17they're not far at all.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: So as everyone is heading for the stairs, Noel turns around.
- 1:02:26It pulls both of her pistols to hold off whoever's
- 1:02:31tailing them. Get that thing out of here, she hollers
- 1:02:35to to Grelda, who's carrying the kiln.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: I dig Galda runs fastass as she can out to
- 1:02:44the exit.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: So Grelba running to the exit with the film.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: So Grela is climbing, yes, as fast as her little
- 1:02:52wings will carry her. Yes, okay, so she's carrying the
- 1:02:59light and kill. Are you waiting by yourself or is
- 1:03:03everybody behind you?
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Old to he an eye on our.
- 1:03:10Speaker 15: Ears, Arthur, I think I'm gonna go ahead and try
- 1:03:15to hold off whoever is backtracking us with.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: With what is the bar doing? You're wounded?
- 1:03:24Speaker 16: Allow me to tend to your wounds. Well, you listen
- 1:03:27to these words from our sponsors. There, hold better, let's
- 1:03:42get back to the show.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: He is accompanying Grilda towards the surface, just in case
- 1:03:47they have figured out where you're heading.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: So that's where everyone is. You tell us what they're doing.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Well, you see one guy with an army of shadows
- 1:04:01behind him walking towards the stairs. And this guy is
- 1:04:06dressed in the same kind of black gear, but he's
- 1:04:09not wearing a mask or a hood. He has white hair.
- 1:04:13He has a scar that begins over one nose runs
- 1:04:17down his cheek and a sneer. You know him, if
- 1:04:23only because you've seen pictures of him throughout the town.
- 1:04:28They call him Slink and he's the leader of the
- 1:04:32guilt Roger.
- 1:04:34Speaker 17: Okaye him, man, we're just reclaiming some property. We're gonna
- 1:04:39be out of your hair and won't see us again.
- 1:04:43Not trying to not trying to take you or in
- 1:04:46or anything. We're just reclaiming some property.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: That's all. We're gonna be out of your hair.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Slink just sneers. He can't help it.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Just what do you do? Okay, not problem.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: He's like, well, there's a price to get that out
- 1:05:03of here without a fight.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: You have to have already going up the stairs. So
- 1:05:08I mean, we can fight if he wants, but I
- 1:05:11think it's a moot point. I'm not sure how much
- 1:05:14he gets to fight. Since I've got two pistols to
- 1:05:17his whatever he's standing here sneering at, and they are
- 1:05:21two pistols to his sneer. I feel like the exception
- 1:05:25of the fact that I obviously can't roll for shit today,
- 1:05:27I feel like I should be in better standing.
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: Girl.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: If you drop those things, you get off the shot.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: See his hands.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: I'm going to whoop you in the nose with my
- 1:05:39Actually take a shot at his foot, just because I'm
- 1:05:42trying to totally piss him off. I just want him to,
- 1:05:45just want to let him know that, hey, we would
- 1:05:49just want to leave without any trouble. I come, no, no, no,
- 1:05:55you you were up the stairs. Okay, So I take
- 1:05:59this between his feet and team.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Lucky. Yeah, you managed to place a shot between his feet,
- 1:06:11but it doesn't stop his hands moving.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: Lucky Lucky roll.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: And you can't because you struck with that first shot.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: You you.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Can definitely follow up with a second.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: And what was he doing with his hands?
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: It looks like he's casting a spell?
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: Oh okay, whoa. I take a shot at his spell
- 1:06:34casting hands with my second pistol and it doesn't do
- 1:06:44can't do too good, can't get too good? Rolls back back,
- 1:06:48I guess no.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Darkness begins to spread from his fingers, long ropes of it,
- 1:06:57and they sort of form into snakes as he approaches you.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I'll be honest there with me too, I'll be on
- 1:07:06what are you doing? So roll for initiative?
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: You probably should have, but he was he was coming
- 1:07:14to talk.
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: So what do I think I'm gonna do I think
- 1:07:18I am going to try to hit him, because if
- 1:07:23he wants to fight, he wants to fight.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: I pranced me talking here. I guess I should have
- 1:07:28asked that question before I shot at him. Go ahead,
- 1:07:32what are you doing? I'll be on.
- 1:07:34Speaker 7: I think I think I'm gonna use my spear.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: I think I'm gonna use my spear. I'm gonna I
- 1:07:42think I'm gonna throw it.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: At this guy.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Okay, roll D twenty. Oh you hit, Go ahead and
- 1:07:49roll your damage five. Okay, Well you strike him in
- 1:07:55the shoulder. It cuts him open and he's bleeding. You see,
- 1:08:01if he can focus, his spellcraft barely makes that role.
- 1:08:06The darkness snakes keep flowing, and you notice he's got
- 1:08:12a literal army of these hands behind him.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: Have our friends gotten out the cave.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Now, Well, they're they're up towards the top. They're they're
- 1:08:27close enough that it doesn't look like anything's coming to
- 1:08:29stop them.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: I would think that we would back off a little bit,
- 1:08:35like back towards the exit.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: You guys start backing up towards the exit, He and
- 1:08:41his small army of hands begin to follow you, so
- 1:08:46it turns into a them chasing you up the stairs.
- 1:08:51As you emerge, it is dark outside. The moon is
- 1:08:57shining down. Now you're you're you're wearing this shining this
- 1:09:02this mask.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: It begins to laugh, not you, the men's.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: The mask is hadkeed something.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: As the hands emerge and Slink with them, they hear
- 1:09:21this laughter from everywhere, but also from you, and they're terrified.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Probably a little nervous myself. My ears twitch.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: And at that point Tessa comes out. And when she emerges,
- 1:09:39Slink gets this look of terror on his face and
- 1:09:42dives back down the stairs. His hands follow him.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and Noel Wearing still points at the kiln that
- 1:09:54girl has.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Well, she takes the kiln. Inside there is a shard
- 1:10:01of potts, and she says, she hands that to you.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: She says, I'll be on brought out some pots too.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Yes, I'll be on brought out some pots. You can
- 1:10:11sell those. But I'm going to go ahead, and now
- 1:10:16I'm sure you're going to have both the mask and
- 1:10:18the shard looked at later, so I will tell you
- 1:10:20what each does. The mask is called the Mask of
- 1:10:23the Hollow, jests nice. It laps in the moonlight all
- 1:10:27by itself. Anyone not familiar with that laughter needs to
- 1:10:32make a saving throw or they will be struck with fear.
- 1:10:36It also, while while you wear it, gives you an
- 1:10:40advantage on one deception or performance check per day, so
- 1:10:47it's called the Mask of the Hollow jest nice. The
- 1:10:50other is a is a shard of glaze fire. It
- 1:10:55casts fairy fire once per long rest, and it glows
- 1:11:00near anyone who's being deceptive.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: Righty, wow?
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: Is that the age of heart?
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Does that bring us to the end of this adventure?
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: I guess that does bring you to the end of
- 1:11:13this adventure. You are five hundred gold richer.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: Yes, kay, good job.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: And uh Riordan's wound heals up fine. But you all
- 1:11:27noticed that he has a shard of pottery under his skin,
- 1:11:30now glowing faintly. Not even Tessen knows why it's there,
- 1:11:35and no one can seem to remove it.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: See good to know who will think you.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: M today. This has been episode one of the Family
