Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jackworth's fans, welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by Genjack.com, and fueled by Brass Tax Coffee.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's Wednesday, July 22nd.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: I am Jordan Deluga.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, we are talking about five injuries, unfortunately, to keep an eye on as training camp is officially officially, officially, one week away from today.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Wednesday, July 22nd, it will be kicking off next Wednesday, July 29th, when it comes to
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: You'll have rookies and veterans reporting in the next few days.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so yeah, on field work, one week away, very exciting.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: To actually be able to watch some football, talk some football.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I did think it was important to at least kind of have a idea of some of the different injuries to monitor as we work our way towards training camp here.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: I would say most of these are not majorly concerning.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: There's one that I'm really kind of on pins and needles about, but we're going to get into it really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingjag.com.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new Duval gear.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button, helps out a ton.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so we've got Colvin Lannon at the top of the list.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: You've also got Travis Hunter, obviously.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: And those are the two biggest names, but the Travis Hunter one, I don't have at the top of the list because, quite frankly, he is coming off in the injury, but he's looked ready to go all off season.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's running over 22 miles an hour.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that was like during OTA's.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: He looks like he's in an unbelievable shape.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: The word from the Jaguars has been that he's going to be a full go when training camp starts.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: So like...
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't feel like that one's of any concern right now.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: But Colvian Lannon is one where Jaguar's head coach too.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, I think does a wonderful job communicating with the media and by extension the fans.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: One thing he doesn't do is provide a lot of injury, information outside of what is required.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: And what is required right now is not much, really.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: So he did say though that Colvin Lannon, that could be one where it goes into training camp a little bit before he gets back in.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: He suffered in the injury at the end of the 20, 25 season, did not participate in the playoff game.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: How had he been in that game?
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows?
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the Jags win that game.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could say the same thing about like Travis Hunter.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Colvin Lannon,
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: What was the severity of the knee injury?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: That has been a topic of conversation, of speculation.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: No one really seemingly officially knows from the team, was it a tornado?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: C.L.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, was it?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: But the fact of the matter remains, Colvin Lannan is not expected to be a full go to start training camp, and we're just going to have to wait and see exactly what that means.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest reason that
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you want your starting left tackle out there, right?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: You do have Walker Little who is a serviceable back up a player that his tape got him signed to an extension prior to the 2025 season, right?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: But that was from a different regime, a different offense.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: He did not look as comfortable last year for whatever reason.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: We did not look like the same player you saw before.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: you want, I feel like if you have Colvin Lannon healthy and playing the way he was last year, and Anton Harrison, as you're left and right tackles, you've got a really good left and right tackles situation.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: If Colvin Lannon is taking longer to get healthy, if when he comes back, he's not the same guy, because you know, he's a big man, dealing with him me, I can take some
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: Again, don't know the exact severity of the injury.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: So there's all these different factors around it, but...
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, if Colvane Landon is the Colvane Landon we saw last year, you have a situation where you have a really, really good tackle duo.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: If Colvane Landon is not that guy or he's not ready to play right away, Walker Little has to play, there's just a lot less certainty and a lot more, well, we'll see how this goes.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like you're going against teams that don't have good past Russia early in the season talking about the Browns who, yes, they don't have Miles Garrett,
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: who gave the Jaguars Problems last year, and then you're talking about the Broncos, who obviously have all sorts of great past directors, Nick Benito.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, you won't call Van Lannon to be ready, so that's somebody I'm going to be keeping a keen eye on throughout the rest of this week and getting into training camp.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis is another one.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: He had a foot injury that held him out for the end of the year, missed some significant time, has not been practicing yet, but
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: The reason I don't have Jordan Lewis as high on the list as Cold Man Landon is because I feel very good about Jarring Jones.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like not to say there's no drop-off or you're not worried about Jordan Lewis.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: You want him available.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's a leader, he's a smart player, he's a playmaker.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: You want him available.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: But if Jarring Jones was to have to start play games, etc.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's not really a major concern for me.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Jarian Jones is super athletic, super feisty, ascending young player.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: You want to have both of them.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they both project best in this defense and the nickel.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: You have two starting outside corners and Travis Hunter and Buster Brown, obviously.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like having your starting nickel when you have another really good nickel, it's just not the same level of importance in my opinion as having your starting left tackle.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: And who not maybe Walker Little can play more like we saw him prior to 2025, but 2025 was very disappointing.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: There was moments where Walker Little just could not hold a candle to opposing talented adressors or not so talented adressors.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: There was moments that guys got him that had no business getting him.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Number four on the list here for me is Chris Rodriguez.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: had a procedure, minor procedure, done this spring slash early summer, and he's supposed to be full go for training camp, but we haven't seen him in a Jaguar's uniform.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, look, if the Jaguars have to go into the season with Bacial Tutan and Lee Quang Allen and Jamari Taylor, I'm okay with that honestly.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's going to be the case.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: They signed Chris Rodriguez for a reason.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's supposed to be healthy for training camp.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't seen him, definitely something to monitor.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just not super concerned about the running back position.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: I do think Chris Rodriguez brings a element.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: that the Jaguars didn't have last year and don't really have without him.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: And that's that big physical power back running in between the tackles who not only brings vision and patience, but also the ability to break tackles, the ability to turn extra yards and just get the most out of what's there.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: And let's not confuse it.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's not breaking away and running away from players at the second, third level consistently.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's going to get you to that second and third level more consistently than what you had last year.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: His success, right?
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Even against Stacked Box's last year was very impressive.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see him on the field.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: You signed him for a reason.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: But do you have answers without him?
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: I still think your running aim could be very productive.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: But.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: It should be a move point because you should be able to see him out there very quickly if not at the very beginning of training camp.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: And the fifth one here I have is Nate Borkerture which there's not been any official word about a Nate Borkerture injury.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: But he missed time at times during OTS and many camp.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to be monitoring that to see where he's at because you know he's he's a player that
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: His presence should allow the Jaguars to be a heavier 12 personnel team and not only to get into 12 personnel more but to be much better in 12 personnel, that is their expectation so if they can't do that then you have to kind of pivot back to probably be in more of an 11 personnel team which the Jaguars are still going to be a heavier 11 personnel team like having
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: three of their top-wide receivers plus Britain strange plus a running back on the field is going to be a good grouping for them.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: It is, but they want to be able to do more 12, they want a board get your out there without board get your
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: you're having to rely again on Quentin Morris or Hunter Long or a Tanner Coziel and that is just, they drafted Naporgotor with their first pick in the 2026 NFL draft for a reason.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's because they believe in him, they believe in his ability to help them and that 12 personnel world.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: And so we're just gonna be keeping an eye on him.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully he's good to go ready to go.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't seem like anything was serious going on, but there were several practices in which he was not suited up.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: gonna be keeping an eye out there.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: There'll undoubtedly be some other little minor injuries for different players, I think on our long missed a little bit of time, but overall I think outside of Colvand Laneon, there's really not much concern at the moment.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's my opinion.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what you think in the comment section below, if you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, y'all have a good one.
