- 1:46Speaker 3: All right, So I'm trying to find it where it
- 1:48Speaker 3: was in the chat. I can't really find it. Let's see,
- 1:51Speaker 3: let's see, Oh there is from Jared. And you mentioned
- 1:53Speaker 3: this earlier, but I didn't even know you were talking
- 1:55Speaker 3: about one singular game. And Jared asked, what's the number
- 1:57Speaker 3: of passes behind the line of scrimmage? We have to
- 1:59Speaker 3: be leading the SEC. I'll look up that number as
- 2:03Speaker 3: Matt's talking here. But see, yeah, well I don't even
- 2:07Speaker 3: know like leading, but I'll tell you exactly how many
- 2:09Speaker 3: it is. But Matt did mention eleven, not this year,
- 2:13Speaker 3: eleven in this game we're at the line of scrimmage
- 2:18Speaker 3: or behind the line of scrimmage.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Yeah, thirty eight pass attempts against ole miss eleven of
- 2:22Speaker 5: them behind or at the line of scrimmage, which you
- 2:25Speaker 5: know I means screens. You're not gonna throw a real
- 2:27Speaker 5: passer out of the line of scrimmageunless I mean it
- 2:29Speaker 5: could be a checkdown or swinger. But eleven pass routes
- 2:32Speaker 5: behind the line of scrimmage. If you take those pass
- 2:35Speaker 5: attempts away, our passes down the field, we were at
- 2:38Speaker 5: forty percent completion, which, if you're doing the math on that,
- 2:43Speaker 5: that's called losing football right there. Forty two for the year,
- 2:48Speaker 5: forty two total passes by line, forty two passes at
- 2:52Speaker 5: or behind the line, And we did that. We broke
- 2:55Speaker 5: the first three weeks down I believe, before the Southeast
- 2:59Speaker 5: us kind of making our case like something's not right.
- 3:02Speaker 5: The game plan has changed based on something that is
- 3:05Speaker 5: not right. We don't know what it is. Then the ABB,
- 3:08Speaker 5: like the ab stuff came out. You know, we were
- 3:13Speaker 5: hoping he wouldn't play. I don't know if it actually
- 3:15Speaker 5: would have helped. I have no idea. We don't know
- 3:17Speaker 5: the details of it. But all we could tell you
- 3:21Speaker 5: based on a game plan based on these stats and
- 3:24Speaker 5: how many passes behind the line of scrimmage, how many
- 3:27Speaker 5: screen passes, the lack of production down the field, even
- 3:30Speaker 5: the lack of attempts. I mean, we had a lot
- 3:32Speaker 5: more attempts this past week, but maybe we shouldn't have.
- 3:34Speaker 5: I mean, because it wasn't good down the field. That's
- 3:41Speaker 5: something space on all that something's not right, and we
- 3:45Speaker 5: talked about it hour one. If you're just joining us,
- 3:47Speaker 5: like we're talking about Garrett Innsmeyer's lack of production and
- 3:51Speaker 5: we can all see it not playing well. Passing game
- 3:54Speaker 5: is not a threat. And if that's your biggest threat,
- 3:59Speaker 5: and it's not a threat, it's not a good.
- 4:01Speaker 3: What is your biggest threat because right now you're not
- 4:03Speaker 3: threatening anybody in the run game.
- 4:05Speaker 5: No, there is not one person in the SEC or
- 4:08Speaker 5: outside the SEC for that matter. I guess because Southeastern
- 4:11Speaker 5: sure wasn't that is afraid of your running game. Yeah,
- 4:15Speaker 5: they're not afraid of how you're linemen or blocking it.
- 4:19Speaker 5: They're not afraid of the scheme. They're not afraid of
- 4:22Speaker 5: the footwork you're linemen are using. They're not afraid of
- 4:24Speaker 5: the footwork the running backs are using. We've seen running
- 4:28Speaker 5: backs miss holes mysteries, but we've also seen them not
- 4:31Speaker 5: have any holes or reads to make. So there's not
- 4:34Speaker 5: just one thing to point out in this whole situation.
- 4:37Speaker 5: The easy thing, the easy pickings is you know play
- 4:40Speaker 5: Colin or you know nuss Meyer's production. Something's not right
- 4:44Speaker 5: with nus Meyer that that I don't know if like,
- 4:47Speaker 5: we'll probably never know, but I can tell you it's
- 4:50Speaker 5: got to be a fact, right, Like it's there's no
- 4:54Speaker 5: there's no way that it's not based on what we
- 4:56Speaker 5: say now if this is his first year starting.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I just be like, Oh, he's just good. I guess
- 5:00Speaker 2: we know he is.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not just what he's done in the past
- 5:04Speaker 5: is not an accident, and it's certainly not an accident
- 5:07Speaker 5: that this big of a drop off in his production
- 5:09Speaker 5: in the way it looks. But there's not just one
- 5:12Speaker 5: thing to point out on the offense, it's everything, literally everything.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Aaron Anderson has been the bright spot, the absolute biggest
- 5:21Speaker 5: bright spot of the offense this season.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And he goes down early in the game.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he went down, and you know, he's that guy
- 5:30Speaker 3: that you go to in like any clutch situation. Certainly
- 5:33Speaker 3: that's been the point of emphasis in every clutch situation
- 5:36Speaker 3: over really the last year into half there. But I mean,
- 5:40Speaker 3: there's so many different things that you could point out
- 5:42Speaker 3: offensively right now, and most of them, if not all
- 5:47Speaker 3: of them, are negative. Like it's just kind of what
- 5:51Speaker 3: you know at times, like if I was to pick
- 5:54Speaker 3: pick out a positive, there was clean enough pockets.
- 5:56Speaker 2: At most of the game to be able.
- 5:58Speaker 3: To throw out of that, but then it turns right
- 6:01Speaker 3: back into the frustrating part right of having or clean
- 6:04Speaker 3: bogget to.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Throw out of.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think it's probably like if if you're
- 6:09Speaker 5: listening out there, like, man, this is kind of real
- 6:11Speaker 5: negative right now because we lost, Like if we would
- 6:14Speaker 5: have somehow pulled it off, which we easily could have
- 6:16Speaker 5: pulled the game off right one play here, two plays
- 6:19Speaker 5: or whatever it is, easily could have played the tones
- 6:21Speaker 5: a lot different. And I get that, And you're absolutely right.
- 6:24Speaker 5: The tones always different when you lose according to when
- 6:26Speaker 5: you win. Loses highlight everything even more. But there's been
- 6:30Speaker 5: deficiencies we've talked about every single week. Now you highlight
- 6:34Speaker 5: a lot more positive because everything is still because it
- 6:37Speaker 5: hasn't like jumped up to bite you just yet. There
- 6:41Speaker 5: have been deficiencies on the offense all year long. We
- 6:44Speaker 5: haven't seen any on the defense this year. This is
- 6:48Speaker 5: I mean, they would probably tell you the worst defensive
- 6:50Speaker 5: performance and it was still pretty good. It was still
- 6:53Speaker 5: winning defense, winning football out there on the defense.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, like you know, I know the yards they gave up,
- 7:00Speaker 3: but they were on the field for ninety plays, ninety.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Ninety plays, fifty in the first half, ninety plays. Sure,
- 7:10Speaker 2: I thought, like, get off the field.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I mean AJ Halsey, who's on the field for eighty
- 7:14Speaker 3: eight plays, played incredible, honestly, Like AJ Halsey was a
- 7:19Speaker 3: dude out there. I thought PJ. Woodland played great, Like
- 7:23Speaker 3: he made the adjustment right. They were one on one coverage,
- 7:26Speaker 3: they were on those back shoulders. The referees weren't letting
- 7:29Speaker 3: them hand fight, and so look and you have to
- 7:31Speaker 3: play to how they're officiating the game. But and then
- 7:33Speaker 3: he figured it out and he went out there and
- 7:35Speaker 3: he made a hell of a play on an interception
- 7:37Speaker 3: and almost took it all the way back. I thought
- 7:40Speaker 3: DeMarcus Cooley played another great game. Like there's performances on
- 7:43Speaker 3: the defense that are winning football. Now, do you want
- 7:46Speaker 3: to get off the field on third down?
- 7:47Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 7:48Speaker 3: That was that was the story of the game for you.
- 7:51Speaker 3: On the defensive side of the football, they were fifty percent.
- 7:53Speaker 3: They were eight of sixteen on third down. But when
- 7:56Speaker 3: you pair with kind of the game flow and things
- 8:00Speaker 3: you had to do to win the game, I thought
- 8:03Speaker 3: there was enough winning plays on defense to win the game.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I can't say I mean, I can't say the same
- 8:07Speaker 3: thing about offense.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure, there was there was enough, especially going
- 8:11Speaker 5: against that team they're almost almost a secondary.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Was not that good.
- 8:16Speaker 3: They looked they looked pretty good, they looked the party,
- 8:18Speaker 3: They played fast, they played quick, but they shouldn't have
- 8:20Speaker 3: been able to match up with our offense and our
- 8:22Speaker 3: our talent.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But yeah, it's it's easy after a loss. I get it.
- 8:28Speaker 5: It's easy pick as of coming here and talk negative, negative, negative,
- 8:30Speaker 5: and if we would have won, maybe it's at it's
- 8:32Speaker 5: it's way more positive obviously, But that was the first
- 8:36Speaker 5: time all the deficiencies that we have seen and kind
- 8:38Speaker 5: of talked about and pointed out and and and you know,
- 8:41Speaker 5: all the fans can see it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Even when you're winning a game.
- 8:43Speaker 5: If you can't run the ball, if you can't do this,
- 8:45Speaker 5: you can't throw it deep, all these different things, there's
- 8:49Speaker 5: always hope that it's going to change and it's not
- 8:52Speaker 5: going to bite you in the butt and put a
- 8:54Speaker 5: loss in the loss column. Like there's there's always kind
- 8:57Speaker 5: of hope like we're doing this bad, but we just
- 8:59Speaker 5: got changed this this this well, if you don't change
- 9:02Speaker 5: it eventually, it's gonna it's gonna catch up to you.
- 9:06Speaker 5: And then at that point once it does catch up
- 9:08Speaker 5: to you, and it's like, well, we didn't make the adjustments.
- 9:11Speaker 5: We didn't make the changes, we didn't get better here,
- 9:13Speaker 5: we didn't go through our mistakes last week and cut
- 9:16Speaker 5: those mistakes out, and then you get a loss in
- 9:21Speaker 5: the lost column that you shouldn't have. And yes, the defense,
- 9:24Speaker 5: that's like, that's that's our identity this year. Defense is
- 9:28Speaker 5: our identity. I didn't have that on the Bengo card,
- 9:33Speaker 5: but it is. And that's just the fact of the matter.
- 9:35Speaker 5: So it's easy to highlight. Man, you got to get
- 9:37Speaker 5: off third down, third down. But they did play winning football.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Ole Miss made some plays link iff It made a
- 9:41Speaker 5: couple of good play calls. I still don't think that
- 9:43Speaker 5: Chambliss is a championship caliber quarterback. I think ole Miss
- 9:48Speaker 5: will lose a couple of games this year.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Hm.
- 9:54Speaker 5: I was trying to find a positive way to oh, no, goodness,
- 10:00Speaker 5: couldn't do it, couldn't do it.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I will say, you know, obviously, the one the one
- 10:07Speaker 3: drive for the defense was in the fourth quarter where
- 10:11Speaker 3: you gave him, you know, fifty yards free.
- 10:16Speaker 2: You know, you gave them penalty yards, and.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I think that was which which it was a touchdown drive,
- 10:24Speaker 3: but you know west Weeks, it's about to be second
- 10:26Speaker 3: and twenty right, and he's rushing the passer and he
- 10:28Speaker 3: does a good job of forcing a throw and it's
- 10:31Speaker 3: an errant throw and you push him at the end
- 10:34Speaker 3: and you get fifteen yards and that drive they ended
- 10:36Speaker 3: up getting fifty penalty yards, So half the field in
- 10:42Speaker 3: a penalty situation like that was one that wone hurt
- 10:46Speaker 3: as much as any of them, because you had plays
- 10:50Speaker 3: obviously that you were going out there, you were successful,
- 10:52Speaker 3: you had the right call, and then unfortunately I have
- 10:55Speaker 3: to go back and see exactly when that.
- 10:56Speaker 5: I think the biggest having plays that defensive standpoint, the
- 10:59Speaker 5: biggest negative take away that I took from the game
- 11:02Speaker 5: was our lack of communication and our missed assignments in
- 11:07Speaker 5: the pre snap lineup out of off of a timeout. Yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 5: I believe I counted two times out of a out
- 11:13Speaker 5: of a timeout on the field where its a big
- 11:15Speaker 5: play the third down up. Maybe it was a two
- 11:17Speaker 5: point conversion, I can't remember what it was that we
- 11:20Speaker 5: had to line up and they motioned, we didn't make
- 11:23Speaker 5: an adjustment and there was one time there was two
- 11:26Speaker 5: defenders to cover three receivers out to the right. They
- 11:30Speaker 5: just didn't make so coming. I think the communication, I
- 11:32Speaker 5: don't know what happened. You would think, you know, it's
- 11:34Speaker 5: the best time to be prepared is coming out of
- 11:36Speaker 5: a timeout because you get to talk to the coaches
- 11:38Speaker 5: face to face or everyone titled up talking to their position,
- 11:40Speaker 5: coaches talking about are this defense or running? If they
- 11:43Speaker 5: motioned here, this is what we're doing. If they stay
- 11:45Speaker 5: in this formation, this is this is how we're attacking it.
- 11:48Speaker 5: I think that was the most That was probably the
- 11:50Speaker 5: only part of the day that I was like real
- 11:52Speaker 5: disappointed in on the defense. Was just simple things lining
- 11:56Speaker 5: up right on defense coming out of a timeout. Those
- 11:58Speaker 5: are the only two things, like you know, you could
- 12:01Speaker 5: there's other things, the third down efficiencies, some PI calls,
- 12:05Speaker 5: things like that that you could really harp on, but
- 12:07Speaker 5: like those those are combative penalties. Those are combative mistakes.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Like your guys are trying, they're they're holding them to
- 12:15Speaker 5: a minimal amount of points. Your offense is getting three
- 12:19Speaker 5: and out. So we're on the field a lot, we're tired,
- 12:21Speaker 5: we're exhaustible, we're fighting through it. But like a mental
- 12:23Speaker 5: air from that same point, it's not really the only
- 12:25Speaker 5: thing that I was like, man, we got to clean
- 12:27Speaker 5: that part up.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it was that second quarter touchdown drive that I
- 12:30Speaker 3: was talking about. It was five places seventy yards, and
- 12:32Speaker 3: I think I believe fifty of it was from penalty
- 12:35Speaker 3: yards because you had them on their thirty yard line,
- 12:39Speaker 3: you get a stop for no gain, they get a
- 12:41Speaker 3: holding call, so now it backs it up to the
- 12:43Speaker 3: twenty yard line, so it's first and twenty. It was
- 12:45Speaker 3: going to be an incomplete pass and that's when West
- 12:47Speaker 3: Weeks gets a fifteen yard penalty for roughing the passers.
- 12:51Speaker 3: So they get it back on the thirty five and
- 12:54Speaker 3: then you've got incompletion. Incompletion, now you're at third and ten,
- 12:58Speaker 3: but you get an off set penalty, so now it's
- 13:01Speaker 3: third and five. Okay, so another penalty, and then they
- 13:03Speaker 3: complete a pass for twelve yards, and then they complete
- 13:06Speaker 3: another pass before you get a fourteen yard penalty and
- 13:08Speaker 3: then a fifteen yard penalty, and then you have a
- 13:11Speaker 3: fifteen yard touchdown run. So I mean that drives that
- 13:16Speaker 3: was that's really the one as our first touchdown, So
- 13:19Speaker 3: you just start to play the what if game and
- 13:22Speaker 3: we always play it right, what if you don't get
- 13:24Speaker 3: the initial roughing the passer and second and twenty, that's
- 13:28Speaker 3: not a quarterback that you want to live second and
- 13:30Speaker 3: twenty if you're old miss right, that's not his skill set.
- 13:34Speaker 3: So those are the kind of plays that we're talking about,
- 13:36Speaker 3: because you give them new life, they get it back
- 13:37Speaker 3: out to the thirty five and then here they go
- 13:39Speaker 3: and then you know, I'll you know, you get two
- 13:42Speaker 3: pass interference penalties in that drive as well. That's a
- 13:44Speaker 3: big moment in the game. I mean, because you're talking
- 13:46Speaker 3: about second quarter, you're up, you know, you're up seven
- 13:52Speaker 3: to three, and then you know it's only a minute
- 13:55Speaker 3: and forty off the clock there.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I believe that's what the time of possession was. That
- 13:59Speaker 2: a minute forty and then that drive and again fifty
- 14:01Speaker 2: of the seventy yards from penalties.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I'm sure if we stopped and right there, we would
- 14:05Speaker 3: have like lined up, gone under center with a full
- 14:08Speaker 3: back run it about fifty yards down the sideline.
- 14:12Speaker 2: A little been a.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Big play, all right, to that big play action fake
- 14:16Speaker 3: dying piece down the field.
- 14:18Speaker 5: How you want to know something positive? I would say
- 14:21Speaker 5: most everyone here projected LSU to be ten and two, so.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Got one to give. Still got a mulligan. We got
- 14:32Speaker 2: a mulligan, got a mulligan. So hey, not bad, not bad.
- 14:34Speaker 5: I projected this eleven to one, so you did, would
- 14:37Speaker 5: have went out, but everyone else was ten and two.
- 14:39Speaker 2: So guess what. Nobody expected us to go undefeated? Did we?
- 14:44Speaker 2: All right?
- 14:45Speaker 3: So of your next six games to go five and one,
- 14:48Speaker 3: you got, uh, well, seven games.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be that disrespectful to Western Kentucky. Uh.
- 14:54Speaker 3: You've got South Carolina at home. You got Vanderbilt on
- 14:57Speaker 3: the road. They look pretty good. You've got Texas A
- 14:59Speaker 3: and him at home, they look pretty good. You got
- 15:00Speaker 3: at Alabama. That game certainly looks different now. Might have
- 15:04Speaker 3: burned that one down a little too soon. You've got
- 15:07Speaker 3: Arkansas at home. Who knows when you have an interim
- 15:09Speaker 3: coach what that's going to look like. You've got Western
- 15:11Speaker 3: Kentucky at home, and then you're on the road to Oklahoma.
- 15:16Speaker 3: That's what Jeff coming up. I don't love how good
- 15:23Speaker 3: Ty Simpson is at football.
- 15:27Speaker 5: That made me like happy, they're definitely not burning Uh yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 5: because he turns out he's really good quarterback. I can
- 15:38Speaker 5: really spend that thing. Who would have saw that coming?
- 15:42Speaker 5: We certainly did. They might have burned. But they're rebuilding.
- 15:46Speaker 5: They're really they're rebuilding fast. Yeah, it's one of the
- 15:49Speaker 5: down to the stud they've rebuilt and it looks like
- 15:53Speaker 5: they've built pretty strong too. They looked really good and
- 15:56Speaker 5: Ty Simpson played really good football.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I was watching that.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I was impressed with all the vision making, his timing,
- 16:01Speaker 3: his footwork just looked under control of the offense, like
- 16:04Speaker 3: control of his reads. And when he spin out like
- 16:06Speaker 3: he threw it, he threw a post that was beautiful.
- 16:08Speaker 3: That was all right, stop stop stop, just stop. No
- 16:12Speaker 3: more nice things about it, just like.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yep. All right.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Before we take this break, on remind you about our

- 16:43Speaker 2: the way, carpool. It's over. Okay, I's gonna say light

- 17:11Speaker 3: But it's not only in Central and it's not only

- 17:43Speaker 5: It doesn't matter how big how small the project is.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Central Plumbing is your ansel And twenty four seven. Emergency

- 18:01Speaker 1: to Off the Bench.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Take me to your best friends house, going around this.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Well, take me to your.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Best friend Love you, I love you now, all right,
- 18:57Speaker 3: Welcome back Ano TV Monday morning. Have we ever looked
- 19:05Speaker 3: forward to Tuesday before? It's kind of how I'm feeling
- 19:09Speaker 3: right now.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think so. I don't think so. I
- 19:14Speaker 2: don't think we've ever looked forward to Tuesday.
- 19:18Speaker 3: You gotta have some tough conversations with yourself during this
- 19:21Speaker 3: bye week offensively and for the offensive staff, for the
- 19:25Speaker 3: offensive personnel.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And I understand.
- 19:30Speaker 3: You got to get you know, you got to get
- 19:31Speaker 3: people healthy because there's something going on.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Right okay, don't know what it is. You got to
- 19:38Speaker 2: get people healthy.
- 19:39Speaker 3: You're right tackle before this game gets hurting pregame warm
- 19:43Speaker 3: ups and he's out of the game. Your quarterback's dealing
- 19:46Speaker 3: with something. You're starting running back is dealing with an ankle.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Your center who's playing through an ankle, right now. Those
- 19:54Speaker 3: are not excuses. Like if you're out there, you're telling
- 19:57Speaker 3: me you're good enough to play, you gotta play, you
- 20:00Speaker 3: gotta play. And if you're not, if you're not, you
- 20:03Speaker 3: can't play. That's another part of it. If you're not
- 20:07Speaker 3: healthy enough to help your team, like you gotta I
- 20:10Speaker 3: mean it sucks.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I hated it. You gotta do it.
- 20:13Speaker 3: So but you can't ask the kid no, no, no, no, yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 3: because I'm a media I'm like yeahah yeah, like I'm
- 20:20Speaker 3: overally looking like you know, I remember I had whatever
- 20:25Speaker 3: injury like knee or planer fatcyatis is like you got
- 20:28Speaker 3: like a peg leg, basically walking like a pirate out there?
- 20:31Speaker 2: Can you go yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm good for sure.
- 20:34Speaker 2: God give you everything, right.
- 20:36Speaker 3: So get healthy and get innovative and get something that works.
- 20:40Speaker 3: When I say get innovative, that doesn't mean double reverse
- 20:43Speaker 3: screen pass, Like that's not what that means. Innovation can
- 20:47Speaker 3: be from what we're talking about, like getting in twenty
- 20:50Speaker 3: three personnel and saying, hey, you know what, we're not
- 20:53Speaker 3: very good at running the football out a shotgun. We're
- 20:55Speaker 3: not very good at running it at a pistol. We
- 20:59Speaker 3: got to do something well that's just something. So innovation
- 21:03Speaker 3: does not mean trick them.
- 21:04Speaker 2: No, it's not what we're talking about. No, it's you know,
- 21:08Speaker 2: tighten it up a little bit.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Innovation could be simplifying, it can be going back to
- 21:12Speaker 5: basics and teaching the basics a lot a lot better.
- 21:16Speaker 5: And look, and it's I think it's easy pickings to
- 21:20Speaker 5: sit here and complain and point fingers at play calling
- 21:25Speaker 5: or play design.
- 21:26Speaker 2: We got to do this.
- 21:27Speaker 5: We gotta do it because you as fans, as people
- 21:30Speaker 5: watching something that we can't we have. We have no
- 21:34Speaker 5: no way to control an outcome of a game. All
- 21:36Speaker 5: we can do is cheer and complain. Right, That's that.
- 21:39Speaker 5: That's that's football, that's fandom. That's what makes this this
- 21:42Speaker 5: game great. Those are the things that we can do.
- 21:45Speaker 5: That's the only thing that we can control because we
- 21:47Speaker 5: can't control an outcome. But it's easy to like say,
- 21:49Speaker 5: play calling this uh. And what I heard a lot
- 21:52Speaker 5: this weekend and what I've seen a lot in the
- 21:54Speaker 5: chat today and on on the socials is a lot
- 21:58Speaker 5: to talk about the two point conversion play.
- 22:00Speaker 7: M H.
- 22:00Speaker 5: How it was, you know, the worst play call we've
- 22:03Speaker 5: ever seen in our lives. It was awful. It was brutal,
- 22:06Speaker 5: blah blah blah. Yeah, I think I would have called
- 22:08Speaker 5: a different play myself. But Taylor, I'd like to go
- 22:11Speaker 5: to the tape if we can, and let's just look
- 22:14Speaker 5: at this two point conversion play. You see all the time,
- 22:17Speaker 5: you see folks, you see teams that will run the
- 22:22Speaker 5: ball on.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Two point conversion plays.
- 22:25Speaker 5: And we talked about it the other day, like if
- 22:26Speaker 5: if your back's against the wall, if you have a
- 22:28Speaker 5: two point point conversion play throughout the week, and it's
- 22:30Speaker 5: game plan. I talked about the play calling chart like
- 22:33Speaker 5: there's a two point conversion.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And a gotta have it.
- 22:35Speaker 5: It's the same section it's called two point slash gotta
- 22:38Speaker 5: have it, and that is those are the plays. You
- 22:41Speaker 5: got like three of them. If you run out of
- 22:44Speaker 5: those three, you go back to number one and you
- 22:46Speaker 5: do them over. So this is the prey, like, if
- 22:48Speaker 5: we gotta have it, this is the play we're gonna
- 22:49Speaker 5: run because we've seen what we've seen on defense, how
- 22:51Speaker 5: they like to line up. They're gonna give us a
- 22:53Speaker 5: four man front. They're gonna put one, maybe two people
- 22:55Speaker 5: in the box. So that's the play that we chose
- 22:59Speaker 5: this week. A lot of people are complaining about that
- 23:01Speaker 5: in the execution, like you don't want to hand the
- 23:03Speaker 5: ball off to somebody, you know, six yards behind the
- 23:06Speaker 5: line of scrimmage.
- 23:06Speaker 2: All of those are valid, valid.
- 23:09Speaker 5: Points that people make. But at the end of the day,
- 23:15Speaker 5: you have to execute the play. Everybody does. So we're
- 23:17Speaker 5: going to watch this play, and I want you to
- 23:19Speaker 5: watch our left tackle. If our left tackle makes a
- 23:25Speaker 5: simple block, a simple block, the ball carrier walks into
- 23:31Speaker 5: the end zone. Our left tackle with whiffs. Okay, so
- 23:37Speaker 5: it's easy for everyone watching who we're not going back
- 23:40Speaker 5: and rewinding this thing over and everybody.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Like, oh, it's the worst play call I've ever seen
- 23:43Speaker 2: in my life. That was terrible, blah blah blah blah blah.
- 23:46Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, whether it's a
- 23:47Speaker 2: good play call or bad play call, you gotta execute it.
- 23:50Speaker 3: If we touch the defensive it, if our left tackle
- 23:53Speaker 3: touches him, he doesn't touch him, maybe whisper to him,
- 23:56Speaker 3: or maybe whisper to him, and we're going to go
- 23:57Speaker 3: to the back here.
- 23:58Speaker 5: He does not touch him, and he makes the play
- 24:01Speaker 5: in the backfield. Yes, Bower Sharp doesn't make a great
- 24:05Speaker 5: block Crossken across the cross the line of scrimmage. But
- 24:09Speaker 5: that guy doesn't make the play. If eight is able
- 24:12Speaker 5: to hit the whole full speed and he doesn't touch.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Him, yeah there's nowhere.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and I want you to watch, and we're gonna
- 24:19Speaker 3: go back. He doesn't touch him, he stepping back.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:22Speaker 5: I don't understand what his His footwork is off. He's
- 24:26Speaker 5: hitching right.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Why are you hinging? You're the play side tackle. Yeah,
- 24:29Speaker 3: you just fire off, Just fire off. I don't know
- 24:33Speaker 3: if he so. I've seen severyone get confused a few
- 24:35Speaker 3: times on schemes. I don't know if he thinks.
- 24:39Speaker 5: I don't know if he got the call that Bower
- 24:40Speaker 5: sharp wasn't going across. But then let's go back and
- 24:44Speaker 5: look at it. Let's just now that we've seen the
- 24:46Speaker 5: back end. If you go through it, if he just
- 24:49Speaker 5: touches the left tackle, eight has a really good shot.
- 24:55Speaker 5: I would say, a good ball carrier like that. He's
- 24:57Speaker 5: scoring that eighty percent of the time.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, as Anderson actually does a nice job at receiver
- 25:02Speaker 3: and going down talking about right through here, he's going
- 25:04Speaker 3: to hit the whole right here.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Yeah, bower shop and you're gonna say, oh, the guy
- 25:09Speaker 5: that Bower. He made the play, but now he's going
- 25:12Speaker 5: to be hitting it.
- 25:12Speaker 3: And I've been in that situation that Bower sharp' seeing
- 25:15Speaker 3: coming across the formation.
- 25:16Speaker 2: He's trying to line it up too soon.
- 25:18Speaker 3: He's trying to line it up and chop his feet,
- 25:20Speaker 3: and that's where you get in trouble because they're coming
- 25:22Speaker 3: like a bat out of hell off the edge. So
- 25:24Speaker 3: you like Bower just to go go right now. So
- 25:27Speaker 3: I'm with like, it's not what I would have called either.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I don't I don't like it, but and there's a
- 25:30Speaker 3: lot of players that we actually would go, we could
- 25:32Speaker 3: go through. It's everything. It's not just one person. It's
- 25:36Speaker 3: not just the play caller. It's not just the quarterback.
- 25:38Speaker 3: It's not just the left tackle. It's not just who whoever.
- 25:41Speaker 3: There's everybody. There's mistakes all the way through film. And
- 25:45Speaker 3: that's football.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Like even even when you blow somebody out, you can
- 25:47Speaker 5: go through and pick fifteen twenty plays out that someone
- 25:50Speaker 5: made a mistake that could have been a big play.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It just gets highlighted in a loss.
- 25:54Speaker 5: But I just I had to say that because that's
- 25:56Speaker 5: all I hear about is like the bad play called
- 25:58Speaker 5: bad play called bad play call on that two point conversion. Okay,
- 26:02Speaker 5: whether it was or whether it wasn't. If you make
- 26:05Speaker 5: a a baseline block, a block that gets taught on
- 26:12Speaker 5: day one, just fire off and hit the defensive end.
- 26:15Speaker 5: You don't even have to like, you don't have to
- 26:17Speaker 5: make a great block. Just touch them, Yeah, just touch them.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Give give out outside and presence.
- 26:23Speaker 3: On his shoulder something. I think he slapped his wrist
- 26:26Speaker 3: when it came by. Pick out another random another random play,
- 26:31Speaker 3: Like I really don't care, and I promise you'll like
- 26:34Speaker 3: we go. It doesn't matter. I don't care only one person.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Let's we talked about earlier. Let's go to Let's go
- 26:39Speaker 3: to the first drive. Let's just watch the first three plays.
- 26:42Speaker 3: We went three and out first drive of the game.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Well we're connected, hey, so but the good news is
- 26:53Speaker 3: the three plays for four yards. The good news is
- 26:55Speaker 3: is that the screen thing is just takes a little long.
- 27:01Speaker 3: All right, all right, so this is played one of
- 27:04Speaker 3: the games.
- 27:04Speaker 5: So we talked about the first fifteen script in the
- 27:07Speaker 5: first fifteen, So all right, we're coming out. Joe Sloan's like,
- 27:10Speaker 5: all right, let's get started. Let's get a good completion
- 27:12Speaker 5: to our quarterback. Little three step drop. We're gonna take
- 27:16Speaker 5: an out. If the out route's there to the field,
- 27:19Speaker 5: we're gonna take it. My concern is, okay, we did
- 27:22Speaker 5: complete the pass.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Well, actually they reviewed it. They reviewed it. Okay, that's right,
- 27:27Speaker 2: you're right. I'm sorry. They called it a completion then
- 27:29Speaker 2: they reviewed it.
- 27:29Speaker 5: But I will say this, first play the game, you
- 27:31Speaker 5: got a lot of nerves flowing. I get it, and
- 27:33Speaker 5: sometimes you misread. You got a little tunnelvision on the
- 27:35Speaker 5: first play of the game. But all day long, this
- 27:38Speaker 5: this pass should go the out route. This is a
- 27:40Speaker 5: minus on Garrett. It should be three step drop out route.
- 27:43Speaker 3: You got cover three corners baling, No way that Nichol
- 27:46Speaker 3: Sam's gonna get to that outside guy.
- 27:48Speaker 2: You should be ripping the out route.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's okay, he still he still put it
- 27:53Speaker 3: on there. I'd like to see Bower sharp just turn
- 27:54Speaker 3: our sticks foot in the ground. Boom sticker foot in
- 27:56Speaker 3: the ground.
- 27:57Speaker 5: I tell my kids all the time, stick foot in
- 28:00Speaker 5: the ground, don't boom stick your foot in the ground.
- 28:03Speaker 5: That's that's on the throat. Okay, you didn't make your
- 28:06Speaker 5: first read.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Fine, you came back, made a good read, made a
- 28:08Speaker 3: good throw, bower sharp, got stick your foot and the
- 28:10Speaker 3: ground that's on you.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Bower, Yeah, okay, do you we'll look from the back end.
- 28:14Speaker 5: I don't like Garrett's footwork here. He's getting a little hoppy, hoppy,
- 28:18Speaker 5: hoppy hoppy. I really I saw Ty Simpson do this
- 28:20Speaker 5: a lot the other day, Like on a three step drop.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Put that back foot in the ground. You want to
- 28:24Speaker 5: put that back foot in the ground, create power and
- 28:26Speaker 5: be ready to rip it. Garrett's kind of hoping, hoping
- 28:28Speaker 5: hopping here and relying on only arm. Hop hop hop
- 28:31Speaker 5: up and then he's just thrown with his arm. Don't
- 28:33Speaker 5: love that. But you know, first play of the game,
- 28:35Speaker 5: a lot of nerves, a lot of different things happening.
- 28:37Speaker 5: I don't think I have a looked good first play
- 28:39Speaker 5: of the game. They all right, so we run this
- 28:43Speaker 5: play a bunch, every single every this is so now
- 28:46Speaker 5: we're second down, second and ten.
- 28:50Speaker 2: All right, all right, all right, press press, press, press
- 28:52Speaker 2: press cut. That's a good play. That's good play. It's
- 28:55Speaker 2: a good play.
- 28:55Speaker 5: It's a good run outside outside the watching from the
- 28:58Speaker 5: back here outside zone.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Press the outside down.
- 29:01Speaker 3: You want to press press that outside that C gap
- 29:05Speaker 3: D gap and the great run it is a great run.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Press press right, that's perfect's go back well executed. Also
- 29:11Speaker 3: like you'd like the center guard that you like that
- 29:13Speaker 3: combo block to be cleaner. That's gotta be and and
- 29:17Speaker 3: right now that's just like why are you pushing your
- 29:19Speaker 3: own guy in his back right now? Like go help
- 29:22Speaker 3: him and then get to your guy. Wabaly waiting Get
- 29:24Speaker 3: to your guy.
- 29:24Speaker 2: He's got it.
- 29:25Speaker 3: He is, he is fully got. He is outside the guard.
- 29:28Speaker 3: You can't do anything. Ye, go go right now, like
- 29:32Speaker 3: there's no waiting. There's no way like there's there should
- 29:35Speaker 3: be no waiting by more right to go right now.
- 29:38Speaker 2: You see your guy.
- 29:39Speaker 3: The only thing I don't like left tackle here, he's
- 29:41Speaker 3: got to work up the six. There's a corner, a
- 29:43Speaker 3: nub corner on the backside. He gets his eyes to
- 29:46Speaker 3: the corner after the snap, which I don't love. He
- 29:48Speaker 3: gets his eyes to the corner. He shouldn't gotta disciplined,
- 29:51Speaker 3: you're just working up and getting the six. Now six
- 29:53Speaker 3: makes the play. But that's that's an impossible block by
- 29:56Speaker 3: seventy one. You're not going to like cut him off
- 29:59Speaker 3: inside right. But good play, I mean.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It's a good run by Thomas and when we say
- 30:03Speaker 2: press it, what you want to do? What a zone?
- 30:05Speaker 5: What a good zone team does? You watch the good
- 30:07Speaker 5: NFL teams? Running backs are taught to press the line
- 30:09Speaker 5: of scrimmage wide until the cutback presents itself, and it
- 30:14Speaker 5: never presents itself. You keep going and he does a
- 30:16Speaker 5: great job. Look at look at Xavion's eyes. They're outside
- 30:19Speaker 5: outside press boom, perfects in there.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Love it.
- 30:23Speaker 5: Great play, all right? Third down, third down conversion? What
- 30:28Speaker 5: were we two of two of fifteen, two of sixteen?
- 30:31Speaker 2: Something like that?
- 30:32Speaker 5: Third down was piss poor? Okay, all right? Makee a
- 30:38Speaker 5: couple of flying adjustments. So it's a three man rash.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Here.
- 30:42Speaker 5: We got a triple slant combination up top, which I've
- 30:48Speaker 5: never loved a triple slant. I think the outside guest
- 30:49Speaker 5: should run about a five yard en route on the
- 30:52Speaker 5: triple slant.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Pretty good coverage, pretty good throw.
- 30:57Speaker 5: But I guess the key of this right here, they're
- 31:00Speaker 5: dropping eight, So if you're running four receiver routes, becomes
- 31:03Speaker 5: a five receiver route with a back leaking out against
- 31:06Speaker 5: eight guys. Advantage defense, right, But guess what, they can't
- 31:10Speaker 5: hold up forever unless left tackle gets hift on three
- 31:18Speaker 5: so there's a couple of things here that I don't like.
- 31:20Speaker 5: Of course, I don't like left tackle getting beat one
- 31:23Speaker 5: on one that fast. You're throwing a three step slant
- 31:26Speaker 5: route and he gets destroyed. But I text, I was
- 31:30Speaker 5: texting y'all during the game. Garrett can help himself here.
- 31:34Speaker 5: So it's a six man protection because eight stays in.
- 31:38Speaker 5: He stays into block. You can see he's key in
- 31:41Speaker 5: his guys, there's no reason not to fan the left
- 31:43Speaker 5: side here. Fan out your left guard, your left tackle
- 31:46Speaker 5: to the two most dangerous and put your back on
- 31:49Speaker 5: number thirty. What they do is they end up four
- 31:52Speaker 5: man sliding, so left guard, center, right guard, right tackle,
- 31:55Speaker 5: four man sliding to the right and leaving left tackle
- 31:58Speaker 5: one on one. Avoid one on one blocks as much
- 32:01Speaker 5: as you can, especially in the quick game. That's what
- 32:03Speaker 5: I always say. So there's no reason not to fan
- 32:05Speaker 5: this out. So if they fan this, even if seventy
- 32:09Speaker 5: one whiffs, sixty five's there to help him inside. And
- 32:13Speaker 5: I don't know if he thought he had a fan
- 32:15Speaker 5: and could just sit outside and let him swim under.
- 32:17Speaker 5: But you see a four man slide to the right
- 32:19Speaker 5: creates a one on one. The guy gets beat. Garrett
- 32:23Speaker 5: can help himself with this with protection. Call its a
- 32:25Speaker 5: three step drop. There's really no reason to fore man slide. Yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 5: I'd also like fan it out. And it's tough, I
- 32:31Speaker 5: guess at different levels. But you know, maybe Juwan can
- 32:34Speaker 5: give some presents to his left tackle. He's going through
- 32:36Speaker 5: the same gap with the free rushers right there.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Just a rip shot. Yeah, yeah, yeah he can, that's true.
- 32:42Speaker 2: And then I don't I go back to the y here.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Again, that's not Juwan Johnson's responsibility. That's not his guy.
- 32:47Speaker 3: He's not thinking that right now because he's got protection responsibilities.
- 32:51Speaker 3: But you also have to know that guy's got a
- 32:53Speaker 3: free path to the quarterback. You got to take that
- 32:54Speaker 3: hit off your quarterback.
- 32:55Speaker 5: Yep, this is just football nerd stuff here. I don't
- 32:58Speaker 5: like trade AS's route on this. He needs the He
- 33:00Speaker 5: has like a quickie slant, that's what they call that.
- 33:03Speaker 5: That third guy on a a triple slant. He's got
- 33:05Speaker 5: a cross face at thirty down here. Anyway, Well that's it.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Other than that, it's perfect. Yeah, we have a
- 33:14Speaker 2: good punt. Actually I don't remember there was one that
- 33:17Speaker 2: was the side of his foot was the hang time
- 33:19Speaker 2: Chatwick's actually been good this year, which you go, He's
- 33:24Speaker 2: been really good this year.
- 33:25Speaker 8: Tiger special teams was the highlight of the game Saturday. Okay,
- 33:31Speaker 8: I actually don't think that the defense like had that
- 33:35Speaker 8: bad of a game.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I think they were just out on the field. First.
- 33:37Speaker 3: No, I think the defense made winning plays. Yes, if
- 33:43Speaker 3: you're if you're nitpicking, you can say some of the
- 33:46Speaker 3: third downs for sure, but the defense made winning plays
- 33:49Speaker 3: with winning effort. Your DB's played really good. They made
- 33:56Speaker 3: adjustments within the game things that weren't going their way.
- 33:59Speaker 3: They had used and may plays based off of that.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Ye and look like we just told you three plays.
- 34:05Speaker 5: Those the first three plays Like, there was nothing wrong
- 34:07Speaker 5: with the scheme of any of those plays. There's nothing
- 34:11Speaker 5: wrong with the game planning of any.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Of those plays.
- 34:13Speaker 5: It was a little bit of execution, little things you
- 34:15Speaker 5: can tighten up from protection. Call here, run a sharper route,
- 34:20Speaker 5: bower sharp and he's a put his foot in the ground.
- 34:22Speaker 5: I thought the running play was a successful play. Just
- 34:25Speaker 5: got to execute it. Gotta there's little things as a
- 34:29Speaker 5: quarterback or as an offensive line that you can do
- 34:31Speaker 5: to help yourself.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Left tackle gets beat.
- 34:33Speaker 5: But look, we could fan that side and give him
- 34:34Speaker 5: a little help. Yeah, that's yeah, something make things too hard.
- 34:38Speaker 2: And again, like.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Football is the ultimate you got to do more than
- 34:44Speaker 3: your job says. It's just the way it is. Like
- 34:47Speaker 3: you have to be able to read and react sometimes.
- 34:49Speaker 3: And I'd like to see the running bay. Just give
- 34:51Speaker 3: him a shot to the ribs because I know, look,
- 34:54Speaker 3: you could tell he wasn't in a hurry to get
- 34:56Speaker 3: out in his route.
- 34:57Speaker 2: He had protection. He's looking, he's looking. Then he gets out. Ma,
- 35:00Speaker 2: you gotta feel that.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And you got to put your elbow right in that
- 35:02Speaker 3: rib and you take a shot off your quarterback and
- 35:05Speaker 3: you keep him clean. Now, I don't know if it
- 35:06Speaker 3: gets completed. I don't know that that affected it. But
- 35:09Speaker 3: it takes a shot off your quarterback. So a lot
- 35:11Speaker 3: there's a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff. We'll
- 35:14Speaker 3: take a break more OTB when we come back here
- 35:17Speaker 3: on this Monday morning.

- 36:50Speaker 4: Durable way, just another all the same you.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Oh Channel one song, let's go Channel yeah. We talk
- 37:18Speaker 2: about this often. We had Channel one.
- 37:20Speaker 3: It was a deal where your school got free TVs
- 37:23Speaker 3: if you showed it. It was a news It was
- 37:26Speaker 3: a news broadcast by like students. Uh huh. And if you,
- 37:29Speaker 3: you know, accepted it into your school, they gave you
- 37:31Speaker 3: a couple of free TVs. And if it's free, it's
- 37:34Speaker 3: me an evangel baby. And this song was a hiss close.
- 37:37Speaker 2: The amount tickled some nostalgia right there, Channel one. How
- 37:40Speaker 2: about that.
- 37:42Speaker 5: I didn't even recognize that when you said it until
- 37:44Speaker 5: you talk about what it was. Yeah, home room, yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 5: seventh grade, yeah, seventh grade, yeah, uh huh. It was
- 37:51Speaker 5: kids doing the you're doing the news.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Go to campus federal dot org.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Campus federal dot org is the website for you guessed
- 37:58Speaker 3: a campus Federal And the great thing about what they've
- 38:01Speaker 3: got going on when you go to open a checking account,
- 38:04Speaker 3: remember they have so many different options right depending on
- 38:07Speaker 3: what option is best for you where you're currently at
- 38:10Speaker 3: right now, they have different checking account options for you
- 38:13Speaker 3: Entry Fort MBAT and Rouge in New Orleans. They've been
- 38:16Speaker 3: doing this for over eighty five years over at campus Federal.
- 38:19Speaker 3: So go the website today, campusfederal dot org. Honestly, look,
- 38:26Speaker 3: we could sit here and we could continue to pull
- 38:28Speaker 3: up plays. We could just let it flow and we
- 38:31Speaker 3: could give you commentary, but we know the deal, we
- 38:33Speaker 3: know what it was, and we know what it's got
- 38:35Speaker 3: to do, which is get better.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Can you get better?
- 38:37Speaker 3: That's the question that you have to ask yourself if
- 38:39Speaker 3: you're getting ready for the South Carolina game in two
- 38:42Speaker 3: weeks South Carolina, you don't think that they are going
- 38:44Speaker 3: to be angry coming into this building. Remember how that
- 38:48Speaker 3: game played out a year ago. If they win that game,
- 38:51Speaker 3: they go to the College Football Playoff, they are not
- 38:53Speaker 3: going to feel sorry for you. They went out there
- 38:56Speaker 3: and they just won an SEC game. They're going to
- 38:58Speaker 3: get an opportunity to come in here with some momentum.
- 39:01Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:02Speaker 3: So the last thing that you can do, and not
- 39:05Speaker 3: saying they are, is feel sorry for yourself because of
- 39:07Speaker 3: how it's not gone for you offensively, Like you have
- 39:10Speaker 3: to go out there and try to do something. You
- 39:13Speaker 3: have to take a long, hard look in the mirror
- 39:15Speaker 3: and say this has got to change, this has to
- 39:19Speaker 3: be better. We've got to do a B and C
- 39:21Speaker 3: and we've got to get that done during this bye week.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I don't think there's any other way to put it.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think a bye week is coming at a
- 39:31Speaker 2: really good time right now. It's a way to.
- 39:36Speaker 5: Like Michael Jackson once said, Oh no, got to take
- 39:39Speaker 5: a look at the man in the mirror, gott and
- 39:43Speaker 5: so what does that mean?
- 39:45Speaker 2: Well, just watch the film.
- 39:46Speaker 5: That's the mirror really that I in the sky, don't lie,
- 39:49Speaker 5: and you got to see what you're Where are the
- 39:52Speaker 5: deficiencies there's there's on the offense, there's plenty of deficiencies, right,
- 39:55Speaker 5: we see them all the time.
- 39:56Speaker 2: But you got to figure out the why. Like Jimpa said,
- 39:58Speaker 2: why why so? Why?
- 40:01Speaker 1: Why?
- 40:01Speaker 5: Why does our left tackle have his eyes wrong or
- 40:04Speaker 5: taking the wrong steps? Why is the right guard and
- 40:07Speaker 5: the right tackle not getting to the second level? Why
- 40:09Speaker 5: are we not reading our first read?
- 40:11Speaker 2: Why you know? Why this?
- 40:12Speaker 5: Why that there's You could go through that tape and
- 40:14Speaker 5: I can promise you I can find a poor decision
- 40:17Speaker 5: or poor footwork or technique from all eleven. And again
- 40:22Speaker 5: I don't say that because I think they're bad. I'm
- 40:25Speaker 5: saying that like it happens all the time. Even if
- 40:28Speaker 5: you're five and oh right now, number one team in
- 40:29Speaker 5: the country. You can go through the tape and have
- 40:31Speaker 5: coaching points for all eleven players on the field. There's
- 40:35Speaker 5: something that everyone's doing wrong. Ours are just coming at
- 40:37Speaker 5: really inopportune times and they're really highlighted. So you've got
- 40:42Speaker 5: to figure out why is it? What I'm telling them
- 40:45Speaker 5: is that the coaching points is that they're just not listening.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Are they just not getting it? Can I tell them
- 40:51Speaker 5: the same thing five times and they don't get it?
- 40:53Speaker 5: But what you have to do is you have to
- 40:55Speaker 5: say there from a coaching staff, from a leadership standpoint
- 40:59Speaker 5: on the from the players, what we're doing is not working.
- 41:03Speaker 5: It is not good enough. Our expectations are here and
- 41:07Speaker 5: we're playing down here, and so you have to say
- 41:11Speaker 5: this is unacceptable. So you have a whole week here
- 41:14Speaker 5: to figure out why, Why is it unacceptable? Why are
- 41:19Speaker 5: we not even getting close to sniffing our expectations? And
- 41:24Speaker 5: you have to figure that out fast, and then you
- 41:28Speaker 5: have to make the adjustments. You have to be a
- 41:29Speaker 5: mature enough team. You have to have the leadership, you
- 41:32Speaker 5: have to have the coachability, you have to have the coaching,
- 41:34Speaker 5: you have to have every piece of the puzzle on
- 41:38Speaker 5: that offensive side of the ball has to figure out
- 41:40Speaker 5: the why and be willing to change. Willingness is the
- 41:45Speaker 5: key point, the key word of all this to have
- 41:48Speaker 5: to be able to change. Everybody from the top down
- 41:52Speaker 5: has to be willing to change. And when you look
- 41:55Speaker 5: at Nusmeyer, he's got to be willing and able. That's
- 41:58Speaker 5: what I don't know if he is because I watched
- 42:00Speaker 5: the film and I can tell you he's not right.
- 42:03Speaker 5: I can't tell you for sure. I'm not a doctor,
- 42:06Speaker 5: but I can tell you.
- 42:09Speaker 2: He is not right. So you have to be willing
- 42:11Speaker 2: and you have to be able, and if you're not able,
- 42:13Speaker 2: then you can't do it right.
- 42:16Speaker 3: It's a good question, Jeff. Inside of the chat, maybe
- 42:17Speaker 3: we can get to it to end hour number two here.
- 42:19Speaker 3: But to Matt's point, you cannot be sensitive watching this tape.
- 42:23Speaker 3: You have to be coach. Coaches have to look in
- 42:25Speaker 3: the mirror as well. Everybody has to look in the mirror.
- 42:28Speaker 3: And again, coaches, players, everybody involved. You can't be sensitive
- 42:31Speaker 3: in watching this tape. You have to look at it
- 42:32Speaker 3: and say that ain't us. And if it is, it's
- 42:35Speaker 3: got to get better. It's got to get fixed, and
- 42:37Speaker 3: if it doesn't, then it's doomsday.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Check check the ego at the door. I have
- 42:40Speaker 2: to when you watch that. We've all been through it.
- 42:42Speaker 3: I've been through film Mass's been through film Taytay Lauder
- 42:45Speaker 3: been through situations in sports where you had to check
- 42:47Speaker 3: the ego at the door and realize that you had
- 42:49Speaker 3: to do something different individually for team success. All right,
- 42:52Speaker 3: let's take that last break more OTB when we come back.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 42:56Speaker 2: All right, go to Russell Pools dot com. Russell Pool
- 42:59Speaker 2: Company truly the one stop shop.
- 43:00Speaker 3: They're going to be there from every step of the
- 43:02Speaker 3: process to help you design your pool to getting your
- 43:05Speaker 3: pool built, and then they can be the maintenance for
- 43:07Speaker 3: your pool as well. The thing I love to tell
- 43:09Speaker 3: you about because it is factual. They can build your
- 43:12Speaker 3: dream pool, not my dream pool, not Flenns and a
- 43:14Speaker 3: Launder's not Tote's your dream pool. And you can see
- 43:17Speaker 3: there on the homepage. No two pools are alike. They
- 43:20Speaker 3: are going to make sure you have as custom as
- 43:22Speaker 3: custom can be. Now, if you're like I actually like
- 43:25Speaker 3: the kidney shaped pool, that's okay.
- 43:27Speaker 2: They can do that as well. They can do whatever
- 43:29Speaker 2: that your mind is kind of thinking up for your space.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Because pools is a big decision, right and if you
- 43:34Speaker 3: make it, you should make that decision with Russell Pool Company.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Yeah, No, two pools are the same, but they can be.
- 43:39Speaker 5: If you want Bet three in this pool, you could
- 43:40Speaker 5: just say, hey, give me BET's pool, We'll take it.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I want to swim in that.
- 43:45Speaker 5: But Russell Pools is the name you think of when
- 43:47Speaker 5: you think of quality, when you think of craftsmanship and
- 43:51Speaker 5: the highest end pools. You think of them. So they
- 43:53Speaker 5: can turnkey your product. Whatever is in your brain, they
- 43:55Speaker 5: can build right there Russell Pools dot Com.
- 44:08Speaker 1: From players to legends, Hester and Flynn breakdown l s
- 44:11Speaker 1: U Football like only champions can girls side just swan
- 44:17Speaker 1: a fly?
- 44:19Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in to OTB.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Jeff g and the Chad says, Hester and your coaches
- 44:25Speaker 3: have to approach players differently nowadays with the portal hurt feelings,
- 44:29Speaker 3: equal transfers. Probably so, probably to your point, which is
- 44:34Speaker 3: ros I.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Don't like that at all. My old school like spirit says, well,
- 44:39Speaker 2: they're so sensitive. I don't want him anyway.
- 44:42Speaker 3: You got you gotta be coachable, though, man, you you
- 44:46Speaker 3: have to be like you have to be somebody that
- 44:49Speaker 3: I can when things aren't going right, I can let
- 44:51Speaker 3: you know they're not going right, because that's how we're
- 44:53Speaker 3: going to fix them.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Now, there's a way to do it.
- 44:56Speaker 3: I think Jimbo did it better than anybody, because Jimbo
- 44:59Speaker 3: would he get after you. He didn't f you, but
- 45:03Speaker 3: then he'd come to you afterwards. Hey, here's why I
- 45:05Speaker 3: did this, Here's why we had to go through this process,
- 45:08Speaker 3: here's what I think of you as a player. And
- 45:10Speaker 3: he did a really good job at least with me.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I can't speak for everybody of explaining.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Why he did it. He was always about the why.
- 45:15Speaker 3: I love that in any job that you're doing across
- 45:18Speaker 3: this country right now, why why am I doing what
- 45:22Speaker 3: I'm doing? Give me the why? Right because my least
- 45:27Speaker 3: favorite thing about like this profession I can't run the ball? Okay,
- 45:31Speaker 3: well why can't pass?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Protect? We'll tell me why can't cover?
- 45:34Speaker 3: You gotta tell me why if you're going to have
- 45:36Speaker 3: that opinion, And Jimbo taught us that, like you've got
- 45:38Speaker 3: to give me the why to what's going on?
- 45:40Speaker 5: Yeah, and even like on national, you know, ESPN National,
- 45:43Speaker 5: like they're doing a good job of putting like former
- 45:45Speaker 5: player like it, like people former coaches, former players and
- 45:48Speaker 5: like experts you know, and it can't explain to you why.
- 45:50Speaker 5: It's just about anything in life and if you don't
- 45:53Speaker 5: if you don't have if you can't be coachable, it's
- 45:56Speaker 5: guys with the wrong DNA. If you have the right DNA,
- 45:58Speaker 5: the right upbringing, the right like philosophy on life, you
- 46:01Speaker 5: can be coached.
- 46:02Speaker 2: You know you're not perfect, be coach one our three
- 46:06Speaker 2: coming up off the bench. All right, man.
- 46:10Speaker 3: We have been really excited over last week to have
