- 0:47For some reason, there we go, it looks
- 0:50like we're back, might have been a feed
- 0:51issue there.
- 0:52Sometimes when we go mobile and we connect
- 0:53to wireless networks, sometimes that can happen.
- 0:56So again, it is great to be with
- 0:57you here on the Inspirations for Your Life
- 1:01show.
- 1:02I do thank you for joining me.
- 1:04Guys, if this is your very first time
- 1:06here on the show, I want to say
- 1:08thank you.
- 1:08And of course, I want to say welcome.
- 1:10If you've been here many times before, of
- 1:12course, I want to say welcome back and
- 1:15thank you for choosing to be part of
- 1:18the show.
- 1:19So this whole week is about mastering the
- 1:22talk of owning your focus at Series 5
- 1:25and the Show 14.
- 1:26We'll get into more details in just a
- 1:28moment.
- 1:28I'm here on campus by the old grill,
- 1:32which you can see just behind me that's
- 1:34no longer in operation.
- 1:37If you guys are hungry or if you're
- 1:38thirsty, feel free to go grab something.
- 1:40I don't want you to be famished or
- 1:41thirsty while the show is going on.
- 1:44Feel free to check out BelieveMeAchieved.com.
- 1:46That is after the show is over, not
- 1:48now, of course.
- 1:49All right, guys, without any further ado, let's
- 1:51kick this off.
- 1:53All right, guys, so this is Inspirations for
- 1:55Your Life.
- 1:56Who am I?
- 1:56Well, that's a great question.
- 1:57I'm John C.
- 1:58Morley.
- 1:59I'm a serial entrepreneur.
- 2:00I'm an engineer, marketing specialist, video producer, podcast
- 2:03host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student, and a
- 2:06passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:09And guys, in less than 17 days, I'm
- 2:15a published author.
- 2:16My book is done.
- 2:17It's going to press next week, but that's
- 2:19actually when the book dedication will be made
- 2:21to my parents.
- 2:22So really excited about that.
- 2:24The book is 14 chapters.
- 2:27It has three appendices.
- 2:28Each chapter will take you roughly 30 minutes
- 2:30to get through, including the PNR, the pause
- 2:33and reflect.
- 2:34And then the three appendices are three of
- 2:36my techniques that I use often that I've
- 2:39decided to share with you, which I think
- 2:40will make the book even more valuable.
- 2:42All right, guys, so yeah, this is another
- 2:45great show.
- 2:46And we're here to sharpen your perception, act
- 2:48decisively, and maintain momentum through intentional choices.
- 2:51Now, I have to let you know, because
- 2:52we are on a call list, we might
- 2:55get interruptions, we might get sounds.
- 2:56This is not a protected studio.
- 2:58So, of course, the benefit of broadcasting outside,
- 3:02but also the disadvantage is, well, we could
- 3:04get interruptions.
- 3:05So hopefully we won't.
- 3:06We're in a nice, quiet area.
- 3:09Like I said, next to this, it's not
- 3:10used anymore.
- 3:11So we're kind of off the beaten path.
- 3:13Guys, it's all about seeing opportunities others miss.
- 3:16Thinking clearly, learning small.
- 3:22Address.
- 3:23Yes, guys, this is Monday.
- 3:25In case you didn't know, it is Monday,
- 3:2726.
- 3:29What does that mean to everyone?
- 3:30Well, that means that pretty soon we will
- 3:33be in the month of April.
- 3:37I can hardly believe that we are going
- 3:39to be in the month of April in
- 3:42just a little bit.
- 3:43So, again, another great show.
- 3:46It's about deciding fast, executing faster.
- 3:49The noise you're hearing is some, basically, golf
- 3:52carts going by.
- 3:52They have them on campus here.
- 3:53So decide faster, execute faster.
- 3:57So decide fast and execute faster.
- 3:58It's Series 5, Show 14, Episode 3.
- 4:02Let's dive right in.
- 4:03Number one, action beats intention.
- 4:07Doing transforms ideas into full momentum.
- 4:12And I think a lot of people think
- 4:13of things, and although thoughts are great, we
- 4:18have to act upon our thoughts.
- 4:20We have to take action.
- 4:22I'll give an example.
- 4:23A set of new modules for some software
- 4:26that we're writing.
- 4:28And, you know, just thinking about it isn't
- 4:31going to do anything.
- 4:31I have to get it on paper.
- 4:34I have to get it in the computer.
- 4:36I have to get it into a format
- 4:37that I can explain to other people.
- 4:40And we can make, all right, guys, so
- 4:42action beats intention.
- 4:43Doing transforms ideas, basically, into momentum.
- 4:49Now, I'm not saying intention isn't good.
- 4:51Intention is good, but we have to realize
- 4:53that just intention alone will not get us
- 4:56to take actions when they surface.
- 4:58Number two, guys, decide promptly.
- 5:01Adjust later.
- 5:03Start moving before perfect.
- 5:04A lot of people tell me, John, you
- 5:05know, I want to get going, but I
- 5:07can't because I'm not perfect.
- 5:09So I got a newsflash for you.
- 5:11So done is better than perfect.
- 5:13You can always refine.
- 5:14You can always retune.
- 5:15Even with my book, the book is finally
- 5:17done.
- 5:17But, you know, there were so many times
- 5:20when I was like, it's not perfect yet,
- 5:21which is OK.
- 5:22I can keep working on it and have
- 5:24something in progress.
- 5:25And now I have a final book.
- 5:27We're just working on our our caricatures and
- 5:29kind of the graphics.
- 5:30The book is black and white.
- 5:32The cover and back is color.
- 5:34But there's going to be some graphics in
- 5:36the beginning of each chapter.
- 5:38All right, guys, execution creates clarity in action
- 5:41number three.
- 5:42And it clarifies the next steps that we
- 5:45need to take in our lives.
- 5:47So let's dump it for it's a number
- 5:50for start small scale.
- 5:53Fast micro actions to scale fast.
- 5:56We need to take these micro actions that
- 5:58are actually going to make sense for us
- 6:00and that are intentional.
- 6:02Right.
- 6:03So micro actions, competent results again, start small,
- 6:06scale fast, motions, competent results.
- 6:08Keep doing this over and over and over
- 6:10again.
- 6:10And by you doing it over and over
- 6:11again, you know what happens?
- 6:12You're going to get the compounded result.
- 6:15OK, very similar to insurance and things like
- 6:17that.
- 6:18And also, you know, your bank accounts.
- 6:19Right.
- 6:19When you put money away.
- 6:21Number five, momentum grows with the effort we
- 6:24take.
- 6:24I don't care if it's a little bit
- 6:25effort, a lot of effort, but we want
- 6:27to be consistent in the effort we take.
- 6:29And that motion as fuels our progress.
- 6:32If we take a little effort today and
- 6:34then we drop back, that's we want to
- 6:37keep the same amount of consistent effort going.
- 6:40All the time.
- 6:41All right.
- 6:41That is very, very key.
- 6:42Number six, guys.
- 6:43Beautiful breeze here today.
- 6:45Depending on when you're watching this, if it's
- 6:47live or if you're watching it later on
- 6:49or listen to it.
- 6:50Number six is overcome hesitation.
- 6:53OK, break inertia to find advantage.
- 6:58Sometimes you have to break the force a
- 7:00little bit so you can figure out the
- 7:03right thing to do.
- 7:04Number seven, guys.
- 7:06Prioritize movement over perfection.
- 7:07Forward beats stalled planning.
- 7:10Right.
- 7:11And so if we can keep moving forward,
- 7:13even if it's not the exact way we
- 7:15want to be, we can keep moving forward.
- 7:18All right.
- 7:18Now, so prioritize movement over perfection.
- 7:21Like I said, done is better than perfect.
- 7:24And forward beats are important, too.
- 7:27So don't let the stalled plans get in
- 7:29your way.
- 7:29Keep things moving.
- 7:32Are you ready for number eight?
- 7:34I think you are.
- 7:35All right.
- 7:35Number eight, guys, is action unlocks opportunity.
- 7:39The intention causes us to take an action,
- 7:42locks the opportunity and doing opens unseen doors.
- 7:48Doing opens unseen doors.
- 7:49When we take the action, we are a
- 7:51doer.
- 7:52We're no longer just a thinker.
- 7:54All right.
- 7:54That's a very important point because a lot
- 7:56of people say to me, oh, John, you
- 7:58know, I wish I could just get this
- 8:01done.
- 8:01But they're always in their head.
- 8:03They're always thinking about what they could be
- 8:05doing, but they're not actually making the choice.
- 8:08We are going to be on the air,
- 8:10guys.
- 8:10I'm proud to say four years and three
- 8:14months after tomorrow, because tomorrow, I believe, if
- 8:17I'm correct, tomorrow is going to be the
- 8:1931st, which is Tuesday.
- 8:21And then, guys, what happens after that?
- 8:23Well, Wednesday rolls us into the first.
- 8:27All right, guys.
- 8:27So number nine, confidence follows the doing.
- 8:31Yep.
- 8:32Confidence follows doing.
- 8:33So when we do more, we get more
- 8:35confidence.
- 8:36All right.
- 8:37Bold steps reinforce the belief that we have.
- 8:41Why else do I use the slogan BelieveMeAchieve
- 8:43.com?
- 8:43It's my brand.
- 8:45Right.
- 8:45But it's not just a brand.
- 8:47It actually stands for something.
- 8:49And I think that's the most important thing
- 8:50a lot of people miss is that it's
- 8:52not just a website.
- 8:53OK.
- 8:54Number 10, over planning, excess thought delays impact.
- 9:00Yes.
- 9:00Excess thought delays impact.
- 9:02And another great thing I want to share
- 9:04with you guys for the BelieveMeAchieve.com and
- 9:07John C.
- 9:07Morley's here on our community, JCM Academy will
- 9:10be launching probably in a few weeks.
- 9:14And that'll also be a great home where
- 9:16you can get lots of information.
- 9:18You can find out about where I'm speaking.
- 9:20You can find out about the current book
- 9:24or the next book that I'm publishing or
- 9:26workshops or lots of stuff.
- 9:28So that's going to be a really great
- 9:29thing.
- 9:29It's called JCM Academy.
- 9:30So all of my coaching, teaching all lives
- 9:34now under JCM Academy.
- 9:36So number 10, avoid over planning.
- 9:41Excess thought delays the impact.
- 9:43You know, we want to think about things,
- 9:45but then we want to keep thinking about
- 9:46them and then we want to procrastinate.
- 9:48And the more we procrastinate, it's like, oh,
- 9:51when am I ever going to get this
- 9:52done?
- 9:52Right.
- 9:53Because we keep going back and keep trying
- 9:55to change something.
- 9:56Let's get things down, even if they're not
- 9:58perfect.
- 9:59Done is better than perfect.
- 10:01Number 11, guys, progress always compounds daily.
- 10:06The small wins accumulate power.
- 10:08So progress always compounds daily and small wins
- 10:11accumulate power.
- 10:12I'll tell you yesterday when I was doing
- 10:14something, I had a lot of things to
- 10:15do.
- 10:16All right.
- 10:16And, you know, my strategy as I actually
- 10:19write things out and I cross them off
- 10:20on a little piece of paper.
- 10:22I take a piece of paper and I
- 10:24actually fold it in half.
- 10:26So I actually have four panels.
- 10:30OK, I write one panel, two panel, then
- 10:33the next two days I do the third,
- 10:34the fourth panel.
- 10:35And I just came up with that idea
- 10:36recently because, you know, I was wasting a
- 10:37lot of paper and it keeps me confined
- 10:39in that space.
- 10:40And it works really, really well.
- 10:42And one piece of paper helps me get
- 10:44through four days, guys.
- 10:47So I think a lot of people have
- 10:52initiative, but then they don't take it.
- 10:53It could be because of the way they're
- 10:55feeling.
- 10:56Even if you don't feel the greatest now,
- 10:58continue with your actions.
- 11:00You might say, John, you know, I just
- 11:02don't feel like doing it or I don't
- 11:03want to.
- 11:05That is your mind getting you off track.
- 11:09All right.
- 11:09You need to stay on track.
- 11:11You know, I remember, as I told you
- 11:12before, when I was younger and I would
- 11:14go to a friend's place to play, whether
- 11:17it was on the swings or whether it
- 11:19was outside, whatever.
- 11:21And I remember that I would always be
- 11:24so staunch in saying, I've got to get
- 11:26my homework done.
- 11:27Well, my mom would say, you know, go
- 11:30play and then do your homework.
- 11:33Where a lot of the people like, you
- 11:34know, you have to do your homework first
- 11:35and then play.
- 11:36I would never play.
- 11:37So my mom was always happy when I
- 11:39could go play.
- 11:39And I always did my homework religiously.
- 11:41So making those exceptions to me, or if
- 11:44I had, let's say, a skating party, a
- 11:46birthday party or what have you, or bar
- 11:48mitzvah or quinceanera, they would always say, you
- 11:52know, do what you can with your homework.
- 11:54Go to the party.
- 11:54Then when you come back home or tomorrow,
- 11:56you have the weekend to finish or what
- 11:57have you.
- 11:58All right.
- 11:58Parties will use you on Friday, by the
- 12:00way.
- 12:00Number 12, guys, initiatives build authority.
- 12:04Yeah.
- 12:05So action signals leadership.
- 12:09When you can put things together and you
- 12:11can orchestrate them, that is the culmination steps
- 12:16of a leader.
- 12:17It's not the end of a leader, but
- 12:19it's the beginning of a leader.
- 12:20And I said that leaders are born, they
- 12:23are not made.
- 12:25Number 13, guys, start before you're ready.
- 12:31What does that mean?
- 12:32You know, when I wrote my very first
- 12:35memoir, even gave my very first talk, I
- 12:38wasn't ready then.
- 12:40Was I really not ready?
- 12:42Well, my mind was saying, John, you need
- 12:44more preparation time.
- 12:44But you're always going to say that to
- 12:46yourself.
- 12:47So start before you're ready, begin, then adjust
- 12:51along the way.
- 12:52If you keep doing that, you're never going
- 12:54to start.
- 12:55I remember when we did our very first
- 12:56website, I was like, well, it's not ready
- 12:58yet.
- 12:59We don't have everything yet.
- 13:00Start with what you can and then add
- 13:02in those things as you move along.
- 13:05Number 14, guys, action sharpens focus.
- 13:10When we act, we get clearer, get a
- 13:14more, let's say, converged focus and doing filters
- 13:20and distractions.
- 13:21You know, when I was able to get
- 13:23a couple of my projects organized yesterday, even
- 13:25though I was tired, I felt really good
- 13:28and I was energized, took a little break,
- 13:32had lunch and then came back and did
- 13:35an Inspirations for Your Life show.
- 13:37I think when we do things, our body
- 13:41gets like this natural jolt to want to
- 13:44go forward.
- 13:45That's how it works with me.
- 13:46I'm sure it works with you the same
- 13:47way.
- 13:48But some people say to me, oh, John,
- 13:49I can't do that because I'm not feeling
- 13:51it.
- 13:52You're always going to have moments when you're
- 13:53not feeling it, whether it's allergies, whether you
- 13:55have a headache.
- 13:57You know, there's always an excuse, but do
- 13:59what you can.
- 14:00So if something's preventing you from working 100%,
- 14:02work a little bit.
- 14:04If you really can't work and it's an
- 14:05emergency, well, then stop.
- 14:07But don't use every little thing like, oh,
- 14:09it's cold or I've got a headache or
- 14:11I've got allergies.
- 14:12So if I got allergies, then I don't,
- 14:15let's say, something like a recording right away
- 14:18because my ears are going to sound funny,
- 14:20right?
- 14:21But I can still do other things.
- 14:22I can still type.
- 14:23I can still analyze things that don't need
- 14:26speaking, right?
- 14:27So that's what I did.
- 14:28And then when my ears were fine, I
- 14:30was able to go and do and produce
- 14:31my show that sounded fine.
- 14:32I wasn't like a chipmunk.
- 14:34So, number 15, guys, take calculated risks.
- 14:37Smart courage produces growth.
- 14:40Smart courage.
- 14:40I didn't say wizaral courage.
- 14:43I said smart courage.
- 14:45All right.
- 14:46Number 16, guys, this wind right here is
- 14:49beautiful here.
- 14:50Movement builds energy.
- 14:52Action generates momentum.
- 14:54I say that again.
- 14:54Movement builds energy.
- 14:56Action generates momentum.
- 14:57Movement builds energy.
- 14:58Action generates momentum.
- 14:59Incidentally, ladies and gentlemen, you're noticing here that
- 15:02I am live on scene.
- 15:05If you have a restaurant or you have
- 15:06a venue and you'd like me to come
- 15:08to your venue and perhaps do a show
- 15:10there, reach out.
- 15:11Pretty soon, the JCM Academy site will be
- 15:13up and you can request something right from
- 15:16there.
- 15:16But in the meantime, you can always go
- 15:17to any of my social media and you
- 15:19can send me a message saying, hey, we'd
- 15:21like John to appear and myself and my
- 15:23team members will get back to you.
- 15:24We would love to feature you as a
- 15:28location for our show.
- 15:29All right.
- 15:30So movement builds energy.
- 15:32Action generates momentum.
- 15:33Number 17, guys, you ready?
- 15:35Daily actions reinforce habits.
- 15:39This is clear with lots of things, whether
- 15:40it's studying, whether it's exercises, whether it's breakfast.
- 15:45OK, one of my biggies is doing my
- 15:48bed.
- 15:48You might say, John, what's the big deal
- 15:49about doing my bed?
- 15:50You know, whether I could do my bed
- 15:52or have somebody else do it, it's not
- 15:54the fact of I can't do it.
- 15:58It's the fact of doing it that makes
- 16:01me feel like I've started my day and
- 16:04I'm ready to move on.
- 16:05It's it's a it's a signal to my
- 16:06brain that, you know, I've done something and
- 16:08I'm ready to move on.
- 16:09I've done my first thing.
- 16:10My first thing I've done is usually have
- 16:11breakfast, but sometimes I'll get up, I'll make
- 16:13my bed.
- 16:14I'll give gratitude to our creator saying, hey,
- 16:16you know, thank you so much for so
- 16:18much for for letting me have another great
- 16:21day.
- 16:21And sometimes if I forget later on the
- 16:24day, I'm like, hey, you know, God, hey,
- 16:25Lord, thank you so much for like right
- 16:27now allowing me to live and to breathe
- 16:29and and be part of this great world
- 16:31that you've created.
- 16:33Right.
- 16:34The key is not to beat yourself up.
- 16:35If you forget, just go back and do
- 16:38it.
- 16:38OK, so number 17 is daily action reinforces
- 16:42habits.
- 16:43Consistency strengthens the identity.
- 16:45Number 18, guys.
- 16:48Execution generates feedback.
- 16:52Execution generates feedback.
- 16:53Learn faster through doing.
- 16:55And when you do something, you may not
- 16:57do it exactly right.
- 16:59Cut yourself some slack.
- 17:01Right.
- 17:03I feel sometimes we're very hard on ourselves.
- 17:06And by being that hard.
- 17:09Sometimes.
- 17:11And out of yourself, don't remove all the
- 17:14air out of your balloon.
- 17:15Realize that you are able to move forward.
- 17:18Just give yourself a little credit.
- 17:19Be kind and loving to yourself.
- 17:21OK, number 19, guys.
- 17:23Boldness creates advantage.
- 17:27Risk taking shapes outcomes.
- 17:31Let me say that again.
- 17:32Boldness creates advantage.
- 17:34Risk taking shapes and then the outcomes.
- 17:39So when we're bold, we move forward.
- 17:43We don't let something get in our way.
- 17:45We take a risk.
- 17:47It's a calculated risk.
- 17:48It's not a quasi, I hope, risk that's
- 17:51going to harm me.
- 17:51It's a risk that I like.
- 17:54I may not feel comfortable doing this today.
- 17:57But that's OK, because that's where success starts
- 17:59to build.
- 18:00Where we feel uncomfortable.
- 18:01Didn't say painful.
- 18:02I said uncomfortable.
- 18:04Are you ready for number 20?
- 18:06I know you are.
- 18:08Number 20 is small wins build momentum.
- 18:12Each step compounds confidence.
- 18:15It's something about the chemicals in our body
- 18:19and brain.
- 18:20When we do something and we've accomplished something,
- 18:22we want to do more.
- 18:24Whether that's studying.
- 18:25Whether that's exercising.
- 18:28Anything that you do.
- 18:30That's a key thing.
- 18:33Something so small.
- 18:34We talked about the snowball before.
- 18:35Where it starts very small and then it
- 18:36could turn into this gigantic snowball that could
- 18:40literally knock everybody out.
- 18:45Maybe even hurt everyone, guys.
- 18:47Consistency outperforms beats burst.
- 18:53At out of form speed and steady progress
- 18:56beats the burst.
- 18:58And I think that's a very important thing
- 19:01for us to realize.
- 19:03That it's the consistency that's putting us in
- 19:05a certain spot.
- 19:07And that is allowing us to become the
- 19:10better version of ourselves.
- 19:12Number 22, guys, avoid procrastination traps.
- 19:15They're going to come in.
- 19:17You're going to want to get on a
- 19:18tangent.
- 19:19You might start something and then you're going
- 19:20to want to do something.
- 19:22One thing I found that works really well
- 19:24on productivity music or anti-procrastination music is
- 19:28the music keeps my brain stimulated.
- 19:32And by doing that, I'm able to keep
- 19:35moving.
- 19:36And even if there is a low, I
- 19:37find that it keeps my brain engaged.
- 19:41So that's important.
- 19:42So it's opportunity.
- 19:43Don't delay.
- 19:44Even if, you know, you might say, gee,
- 19:47you know, I wonder what this is.
- 19:49There's one thing to take a break and
- 19:51then there's something to take a tangent.
- 19:53All right.
- 19:53So I think that's a very, very important
- 19:56thing.
- 19:56Number 23, guys, action validates the ideas.
- 20:03Testing brings the clarity.
- 20:04Action validates ideas.
- 20:06Action validates ideas.
- 20:08Testing brings clarity.
- 20:10That's pretty simple.
- 20:13And we're able to.
- 20:19That brings clarity.
- 20:21That brings focus.
- 20:23A great test also brings us confidence.
- 20:27So I don't care what age you are.
- 20:30This stuff works through your entire life.
- 20:33It's just that as you get older, if
- 20:36you haven't done this, it becomes harder to
- 20:39convince the chattering monkeys in your mind to
- 20:41say, hey, be quiet.
- 20:43I'm going to try this.
- 20:45And once you start getting a few wins,
- 20:47the monkeys are like, OK, OK, I'll let
- 20:49you be, you know, I don't need to
- 20:51get the bananas from you.
- 20:52You know, you know, I'll let you be.
- 20:53I'll be quiet.
- 20:56Number 24, guys, bold steps attract opportunity.
- 21:02Bold steps attract opportunity.
- 21:08Courage opens doors.
- 21:10Courage opens doors.
- 21:12So I know we all can get scared
- 21:15sometimes, you know, scared of our own shadow,
- 21:19scared of something that a lot of people
- 21:21don't think about.
- 21:22Some people get scared about being a failure.
- 21:25A lot of people get scared.
- 21:26You know what that is?
- 21:27They get scared of being immensely successful.
- 21:31You might say, John, that's crazy.
- 21:32Yeah, because you're successful.
- 21:34You're like this.
- 21:37And so if you have that kind of
- 21:43life now or you're living that kind of
- 21:46life, success.
- 21:49OK, 25, courage grows through doing.
- 21:55The more you do, the more you get
- 21:57this pat on the back.
- 21:58You get this reinforcement.
- 22:01OK, courage grows through doing and action fosters
- 22:04resilience.
- 22:05So when we take an action, we become
- 22:10more unstoppable.
- 22:12We become more solid, more confident, and we
- 22:18become more curious.
- 22:23OK, number 26, guys, execution increases visibility.
- 22:31Activity builds credibility.
- 22:33Hmm.
- 22:35Like myself, you know, an author writing a
- 22:38book, it builds credibility.
- 22:39Writing a program, it builds credibility.
- 22:41Creating a design, it creates credibility.
- 22:43Giving a speech, doing a show, it creates
- 22:45credibility.
- 22:45It's one thing to say that you do
- 22:47something.
- 22:48It's another to actually do it.
- 22:51I've had friends say, oh, yeah, I'm great
- 22:52at that.
- 22:53Well, could you show me?
- 22:54Oh, no, I'm tired.
- 22:55I want to do it today.
- 23:00Do what you say.
- 23:03And you will get more confidence every time.
- 23:08Number 27, guys, stay engaged actively.
- 23:13Attention drives results.
- 23:15Guys, attention drives results.
- 23:17Stay engaged actively.
- 23:18Not just like, oh, I'll stay engaged today
- 23:21because I'm free.
- 23:23Tomorrow, I don't know if I can.
- 23:25I want to go skiing or skating or
- 23:28I want to go hang out with my
- 23:30friends.
- 23:31Stay engaged.
- 23:34Whatever you do, stay engaged.
- 23:36Attention drives results.
- 23:38Where we focus our attention, that's where the
- 23:42energy is going to go.
- 23:43That's why lots of great people like Nightingale
- 23:48Cohen have said, we become what we think
- 23:50about most often.
- 23:51But here's the kicker, guys.
- 23:53It does not happen overnight.
- 23:57No.
- 23:59No.
- 23:59No.
- 24:01It happens progressively over time.
- 24:06Number 28, guys, learn to move with purpose.
- 24:14Intentional motion aligns the outcomes.
- 24:17What does that mean, John?
- 24:19We take action intentionally moving through the universe
- 24:27to do things that are tied to our
- 24:31core values.
- 24:35When you move forward, let me ask you
- 24:36a question.
- 24:37Do you just move because you want to
- 24:39move?
- 24:39Or do you move with intention, with purpose?
- 24:43If you're just moving, you're going to get
- 24:44tired.
- 24:45Always move with intention.
- 24:49Number 29, guys, adjust as results unfold.
- 24:56Flexibility maximizes success.
- 24:58Think about a chameleon, right?
- 25:01The animal that's able to change its color
- 25:05to blend in with nature.
- 25:10This is where the army, the military learned
- 25:13to have camouflage vests.
- 25:16We learned this from the experience of a
- 25:23chameleon.
- 25:24And I think those are important things.
- 25:27When we can blend in, that's great.
- 25:31But sometimes we don't want to blend in.
- 25:34Sometimes we want to just adjust.
- 25:36And I've said to you guys before, if
- 25:38we want to be successful, we have to
- 25:40first figure out how to measure it.
- 25:43If we can't measure something, we can never
- 25:46change it.
- 25:47So once we can measure something, then we
- 25:49can change factors to see how it actually
- 25:52affects it and then document that.
- 25:54With number 30, guys, act decisively.
- 26:02Lead change.
- 26:04Bold action inspires others.
- 26:11So in closing, guys, I want to let
- 26:14you know that you need to decide fast,
- 26:17execute faster.
- 26:18That doesn't mean make quick decisions.
- 26:20That means don't procrastinate, right?
- 26:23If you have all your facts, then make
- 26:26a decision.
- 26:29Don't sit on it for days.
- 26:31If you don't have your information, then by
- 26:33all means, go get it, okay?
- 26:35I'm not telling you to decide blindly, but
- 26:39I am telling you to decide fast and
- 26:40execute faster once you have the metrics, all
- 26:44right?
- 26:45So in closing, guys, you can catch this
- 26:47full episode and other episodes of this show
- 26:51and of course others, of Inspiration for Real
- 26:53Life, Tech Show, and many more.
- 26:56And this is important, guys.
- 26:58If you choose to apply these actionable strategies
- 27:00to your own focus and amplify momentum, you
- 27:06will definitely head toward the trajectory of success.
- 27:10You can, of course, visit 24hoursadaybelievemeachieve.com for
- 27:16more insights, resources, and guidance to see opportunities
- 27:21others miss and learn how to live intentionally.
- 27:25And I leave you with this question today.
- 27:29When you go to make an action, ask
- 27:33yourself, is this something I'm doing that's intentional?
- 27:36Or am I just going with the motions?
- 27:39Or am I just doing something someone else
- 27:40has said?
- 27:41Is this really an intentional choice of mine?
- 27:45If it is, great.
- 27:46Go forward with it.
- 27:47If it's not, step back and say, wait
- 27:49a minute.
- 27:51I don't think I should make this choice.
- 27:52This is not in line with who I
- 27:54am as a person, as my character, as
- 27:58the integrity I stand for.
- 27:59I'm John C.
