  Speaker 1: James four and Ah says, when you draw close to God,

  Speaker 1: God will draw close to you. One of the greatest

  Speaker 1: misconceptions people have about God is that he pulls away
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: when we mess up. We think I've ignored him too long,
• 0:26
  Speaker 1: I've made too many mistakes, I've gone too far. And
• 0:30
  Speaker 1: because of that we assume God must be distant, God
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: must be disappointed, or God must be unwilling to respond.

  Speaker 1: But that's not who God is. Scripture makes his simple
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: and clear. When you draw close to him, he draws
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: close to you. Notice it doesn't say he hesitates. It
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: doesn't say he considers your past first. It doesn't say
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: he makes you earn your way back. It says he
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: comes close. God is not said far off, waiting to
• 1:01
  Speaker 1: see if you're good enough. He's not keeping a record
• 1:03
  Speaker 1: of every failure, every wrong turn, every moment you fell short.

  Speaker 1: He's not saying, no, you had your chance. No, he's
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: been waiting, waiting when you get off course, waiting when
• 1:14
  Speaker 1: your attitude wasn't right, Waiting through the mistakes, the regrets,

  Speaker 1: the seasons of compromise. Oh, my Lord, through it all,

  Speaker 1: he never walked away. In fact, there are moments in
• 1:27
  Speaker 1: your life you may not have even realized. Times when
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: He protected you, times when he kept you from harm,
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: Times when he showed you mercy you didn't even ask for.

  Speaker 1: He was there when you made the decisions that could
• 1:40
  Speaker 1: have taken you down your from path, decisions that could
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: have taken your life. He was there when you felt lost.

  Speaker 1: He was there when you felt confused. He was there

  Speaker 1: when you felt distant. He was there when your prayers

  Speaker 1: seemed unanswered and frustration set in. See that's the kind
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: of love God has for you, unconditional, unrelenting, an unfairly

  Speaker 1: and the beautiful truth is you are never more than

  Speaker 1: one step away from God. It doesn't take a long process,

  Speaker 1: it doesn't require perfect words, it doesn't demand that you
• 2:16
  Speaker 1: fix everything first. All it takes is a willing heart,

  Speaker 1: a simple prayer, a quiet moment, a decision to turn
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: toward Him and end that moment, God responds. He meets
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: you with grace, not guilt. He meets you with mercy,

  Speaker 1: not condemnation. He meets you with open arms, not rejection.

  Speaker 1: So no matter where you are today. Whether you feel

  Speaker 1: close to God or far away, I want you to

  Speaker 1: know this. He is near, closer than you think, closer

  Speaker 1: than your circumstances suggest, closer than your feelings may tell you.

  Speaker 1: And he's inviting you into relationship, not religion, into connection,

  Speaker 1: not condemnation. I want you to take that step today.

  Speaker 1: Draw closer your thoughts, draw close in your heart, draw

  Speaker 1: close in your faith, because when you do, you won't

  Speaker 1: find distance. What you'll find is His presence waiting for you.

  Speaker 1: for your unfailing love. Thank you that you are not

  Speaker 1: holding our past against us, but you are always inviting

  Speaker 1: us closer. God, we choose to draw near to you

  Speaker 1: right now with our hearts, with our thoughts, with our faith.

  Speaker 1: Thank you that as we come close to you, you're

  Speaker 1: a coming closer to us. In Jesus' name. Now, that's

  Speaker 1: your word for today. Take it applied to your everyday life,
