A routine traffic stop in Whiteville spiraled into chaos when detectives uncovered suspected drugs during a confrontation with passenger Michelle Hunter, who allegedly tried to ditch the evidence—leading to multiple charges including drug trafficking near a school and hazardous waste violations. Driver Jessie Levern Dudley, whose suspended license and outstanding felony warrants made matters worse, was also arrested and held without bond.
