- 1:00Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. We'll have a real fun,
- 1:04Speaker 2: juicy one to get your mind off of everything that's
- 1:07Speaker 2: going on in the world. So let's get into the
- 1:09Speaker 2: stuff that doesn't really matter. First of all, I'm selling
- 1:13Speaker 2: my merch. You guys have a Juicy Scoop tank on
- 1:16Speaker 2: today and everything is at heathermcdonald.net and I got my
- 1:21Speaker 2: Juicy Scoop slides. If you go to my reels on Instagram,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I did an unboxing, which was really fun. It was
- 1:28Speaker 2: my first collab with Chanel. No, just kidding. They're much
- 1:32Speaker 2: less expensive and they're Juicy Scoop and they're comfortable and fun. Anyway,
- 1:36Speaker 2: everything is there. That's also where you go to join
- 1:39Speaker 2: my Patreon. And let's get into all the crazy fun
- 1:44Speaker 2: stuff that's been happening. First of all, I was lucky
- 1:47Speaker 2: enough to go to the USC game on Saturday with Peter.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Some friends of ours invited us. We went to a
- 1:52Speaker 2: fun tailgate and it was parents weekend. They played U
- 1:56Speaker 2: of A. It was a very exciting game. And I
- 1:58Speaker 2: was in great seats with a friend of mine that
- 2:01Speaker 2: I knew from college and he has got a beautiful booth.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And so we were there, not a booth, but like
- 2:06Speaker 2: a box. It's anyway, very nice. And so I see
- 2:10Speaker 2: this today on page six that Will Ferrell was also
- 2:12Speaker 2: there and they, you know, he made page six and
- 2:14Speaker 2: he was DJing his son's fraternity party, which I guess,
- 2:19Speaker 2: you know, his son did get in. Mine did not.
- 2:23Speaker 2: We see where Will Ferrell is. We see where Heather
- 2:26Speaker 2: McDonald is when, Drake is at ASU, but whatever. Everyone
- 2:30Speaker 2: is fine. And I was just doing a little selfie
- 2:34Speaker 2: of myself, and then this happened, and I got so excited.
- 2:39Speaker 2: A Trojan Family Weekend Special.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Actor, producer, and USC alumnus, O'Shea Dixon Jr.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I thought it was Will Ferrell.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I thought it was Heather and.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Joel.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Trojan Family! It's about that. Well, so there you go.
- 2:55Speaker 2: So maybe one day, one day, maybe one day I'll
- 2:58Speaker 2: give the commencement speech like Will. Maybe one day I'll
- 3:00Speaker 2: be announced at the school. In the meantime, we had
- 3:03Speaker 2: a really fun time. So it was a very nice, good,
- 3:06Speaker 2: fun time for us. Okay, I want to do a
- 3:07Speaker 2: little follow up on the Victoria Beckham, David Beckham situation
- 3:13Speaker 2: with their Netflix show, which a lot of people are
- 3:15Speaker 2: really enjoying. And the fact that she brought up that
- 3:18Speaker 2: there was these rumors, these tabloids rumors about this assistant
- 3:22Speaker 2: that David had. And that was a really hard time
- 3:25Speaker 2: in their marriage. But they don't ever really say it
- 3:28Speaker 2: was anything more than rumors. We don't know. And Sarah
- 3:31Speaker 2: and I talked about like, well, maybe they don't want
- 3:34Speaker 2: to confirm it or have it come up. Well, of course,
- 3:37Speaker 2: in this day and age of Internet world. They found
- 3:40Speaker 2: the girl. She is 46. She is a yoga instructor,
- 3:45Speaker 2: owns her own yoga place. And people found her. I mean,
- 3:50Speaker 2: most people have an Instagram. Most people, if they have
- 3:52Speaker 2: any kind of business, make it public. And she was
- 3:55Speaker 2: getting a bunch of hate and comments. And she commented like,
- 3:59Speaker 2: thank you. Thank you for the support. Like, I'm good.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'm fine. And that is exactly what I thought. Like,
- 4:05Speaker 2: of course, it's going to come up. Of course, people
- 4:06Speaker 2: are going to take it upon themselves to either reach
- 4:09Speaker 2: out to her in a really negative way or write
- 4:12Speaker 2: something under her yoga pose or whatever. But also what
- 4:15Speaker 2: was weird is their daughter-in-law, Nicola, who's married to Brooklyn.
- 4:20Speaker 2: And Nicola and Victoria has supposedly had some issues in
- 4:26Speaker 2: their mother-in-law, daughter-in-law relationship. And she posted, and she's like
- 4:32Speaker 2: a really wealthy, she comes from a lot of money too.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And they're a young couple. They got married like early
- 4:37Speaker 2: 20s and then been married a.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Couple of times.
- 4:39Speaker 2: So she posted a slideshow on her Instagram and congratulating
- 4:44Speaker 2: her father-in-law for this documentary on Netflix. But people were
- 4:48Speaker 2: really thought the posting was strange. So the photo she
- 4:53Speaker 2: chooses to do is her in this red leather dress
- 4:57Speaker 2: and her husband, his son, grabbing her like his hand
- 5:02Speaker 2: is on her ass cheek under the skirt. He kind
- 5:04Speaker 2: of looks a little drunk. That's the first slideshow. Then
- 5:07Speaker 2: there's another one of her just being like sexy and
- 5:10Speaker 2: the boyfriend, I mean, the husband in the back. And
- 5:12Speaker 2: not till the fourth slide do we see David Beckham
- 5:16Speaker 2: on a red carpet. So, you know, but she's like, congrats, daddy-in-law.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Very weird. Also, Kanye West. So he's got this wife.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Now I'm hearing that they are for sure married. Bianca.
- 5:32Speaker 2: He makes her wear all these weird clothes. I've talked
- 5:34Speaker 2: about it. I've worried about her family. It's also been
- 5:37Speaker 2: come out now that she comes. She is the daughter
- 5:40Speaker 2: of this like notorious crime boss, allegedly from Australia. So
- 5:45Speaker 2: that's interesting. But now the stories are coming out that
- 5:50Speaker 2: he instructs his wife, Bianca Kanye, to never speak. and
- 5:55Speaker 2: has given her a list of rules to live by,
- 5:57Speaker 2: what she has to eat, what she wears, and that
- 6:00Speaker 2: some believe that Kanye is trying to mold Bianca into
- 6:03Speaker 2: a radicalized version of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. But here's
- 6:08Speaker 2: the thing. Like I said, I really hope this isn't
- 6:12Speaker 2: a girl that is completely isolated from her family and
- 6:16Speaker 2: in some weird cult-like marriage, you know? And I really
- 6:21Speaker 2: hope that she really is this crime boss daughter type
- 6:24Speaker 2: and is really smart and is like, I'm wifey. OK,
- 6:28Speaker 2: I'm the wife and I have power of attorney. And
- 6:32Speaker 2: when anything happens with Kanye, I'll be able to be
- 6:35Speaker 2: the one that'll be his next of kin or not
- 6:38Speaker 2: that we want that to happen. But if she needs
- 6:40Speaker 2: to be like power of attorney and do anything with
- 6:43Speaker 2: him acting strange, maybe she's just going along with it.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Here's a theory going along with it and just playing
- 6:50Speaker 2: like the docile, dumb wife who is in this like
- 6:54Speaker 2: strange partnership and all her friends are worried. And she's like,
- 6:59Speaker 2: just you don't worry. I'm going to get a lot
- 7:01Speaker 2: more than a my own pantyhose line that I can
- 7:05Speaker 2: pull up to my nipples. I'm going to get a
- 7:07Speaker 2: lot more than that. And I know exactly what I'm
- 7:10Speaker 2: doing because I learned from the best. My dad. I
- 7:14Speaker 2: don't know. I hope it's that. Not that she wants
- 7:16Speaker 2: to hurt anybody, but I hope it's not that she's
- 7:19Speaker 2: trapped and being completely brainwashed wearing these awful outfits. Also,
- 7:25Speaker 2: on Real Housewives of Potomac, there is this girl, Mia.
- 7:29Speaker 2: She was really honest about the fact that she married
- 7:32Speaker 2: this older guy. She was a stripper. And she says
- 7:36Speaker 2: in the trailer, maybe I married him for money. Well,
- 7:38Speaker 2: now they're getting divorced. And he, his name's Gordon, he's
- 7:41Speaker 2: in his early 70s, has come out. and done an
- 7:44Speaker 2: interview just spilling the juicy scoop. And he said, I
- 7:48Speaker 2: told her at a certain point in her marriage, they've
- 7:51Speaker 2: been together like 11 years and they have two kids.
- 7:54Speaker 2: He said, at a certain point, I'm not going to
- 7:55Speaker 2: be able to like satisfy you sexually anymore. And if
- 7:58Speaker 2: you want to go sleep with somebody else, that's fine.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Don't bring them home. Don't bring them around our kids.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Be discreet about it. Don't embarrass me. He then found
- 8:07Speaker 2: out that while they're kind of living this situation that
- 8:11Speaker 2: He saw her phone and there were sexy texts on it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: She's talking to him and he feels like the kids
- 8:16Speaker 2: are somewhat, I don't know, being hurt by it. And
- 8:21Speaker 2: so they are getting divorced and he's like, I just
- 8:23Speaker 2: want to co-parent with her. But she has no use
- 8:26Speaker 2: for me anymore because I don't have access to all
- 8:28Speaker 2: my funds. He owned all these joint chiropractic places like
- 8:33Speaker 2: this franchise for chiropractors. with his brother and something happened
- 8:38Speaker 2: where this partnership ended. So he does not have the
- 8:41Speaker 2: money that he had where she'd had just unlimited funds
- 8:44Speaker 2: to spend. And we all know housewives don't really make
- 8:47Speaker 2: that much money. And he believes this new guy that
- 8:51Speaker 2: she's texting with and having an affair with has a
- 8:53Speaker 2: lot of money. So it's all out on the table,
- 8:56Speaker 2: but it should make for a good season when that
- 8:58Speaker 2: comes out. Meanwhile, Mauricio, so he's on Dancing with the Stars.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And I thought, oh my God, is he going to
- 9:06Speaker 2: end up dating his instructor? Because that always happens. Well,
- 9:11Speaker 2: he went out to dinner with his parents with this
- 9:14Speaker 2: woman who is not, her name's Leslie Vega. And she's
- 9:18Speaker 2: very pretty. And she looks to be, I don't know,
- 9:21Speaker 2: you never can tell how old people are, but she
- 9:22Speaker 2: looks like she's like maybe like 40. People dove into
- 9:26Speaker 2: her Instagram and she can do the splits just like Kyle.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And it is kind of interesting that supposedly Kyle was
- 9:33Speaker 2: asked to do Dancing with the Stars, and turned it down.
- 9:38Speaker 2: They supposedly wanted her and Morgan and Mauricio, and she
- 9:41Speaker 2: turned it down and was like, you do it, Mauricio.
- 9:44Speaker 2: But I mean, she is the girl that can do
- 9:45Speaker 2: the splits. Well, so can this girl. And this girl
- 9:48Speaker 2: is not only an actress who can do the splits,
- 9:49Speaker 2: but she's also a realtor, and she works at his agency.
- 9:53Speaker 2: So most likely she will be featured on the new
- 9:56Speaker 2: season of Buying Beverly Hills, which is his reality show
- 10:02Speaker 2: about his real estate firm with his daughters and these
- 10:04Speaker 2: other people working there. So they go out to dinner
- 10:07Speaker 2: and his mother posts a couple times thanking her for
- 10:11Speaker 2: driving her home and having such a lovely evening. Some
- 10:14Speaker 2: people feel like that's insensitive since, you know, Mauricio has
- 10:18Speaker 2: been married to Kyle for like 27 years. But it
- 10:21Speaker 2: doesn't seem like, I don't even know. I hope that
- 10:23Speaker 2: Mauricio and Kyle are like in cahoots and planning this
- 10:26Speaker 2: so that Heather McDowell of Juicy Scoop talks about them.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Because then Kyle over the weekend goes and picks up
- 10:32Speaker 2: Morgan Wade. I'm going to do it. Some people love it.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Some people hate it. I'm going to make you love my...
- 10:38Speaker 2: I'm going to make you love me. I didn't think
- 10:41Speaker 2: picking me up from LAX on a Friday would make
- 10:43Speaker 2: anybody love me, but she did it. She came all
- 10:45Speaker 2: the way from Beverly Hills. Never heard of Beverly Hills.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Never knew what a reality show was, but here this
- 10:51Speaker 2: pretty lady, Kyle, came to pick me up. So, of course,
- 10:55Speaker 2: the paparazzi sees the photos. And let's face it, you guys.
- 10:59Speaker 2: If you don't want to be seen picking somebody up
- 11:01Speaker 2: at the airport because you don't want the publicity, it's
- 11:04Speaker 2: very easy to have your assistant go, maybe even have
- 11:07Speaker 2: somebody else drive and you sit in the back seat
- 11:09Speaker 2: and greet them in a big blackened window SUV.
- 11:12Speaker 1: No.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So they have all the photos of her picking her up.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And then the next day they're hanging out and they
- 11:17Speaker 2: look very together as a couple. And Kyle is wearing
- 11:22Speaker 2: ripped jeans like Morgan and trucker hats. And this is
- 11:26Speaker 2: not my joke, but somebody... put it side by side
- 11:29Speaker 2: with Wayne's world, Wayne's world, and they are both Kyle
- 11:34Speaker 2: and her and Morgan are dressed just like the stars
- 11:37Speaker 2: of Wayne, Wayne's world. And it's hilarious. So that, so
- 11:43Speaker 2: that all happened this weekend. So that was kind of,
- 11:45Speaker 2: and then also Gigi Hadid was on a date with
- 11:48Speaker 2: Bradley Cooper. Allegedly it looks like that. There's paparazzi photos.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Kind of an interesting pairing. She was dating Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 11:56Speaker 2: We didn't know if Bradley was getting back with his
- 11:59Speaker 2: former wife and mother of his child. And then she went,
- 12:05Speaker 2: the Irenka, whatever her name is, she went back to
- 12:08Speaker 2: Tom Brady. Who knows? But they went on a date.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I think it's juicy. I like it. All right, you guys.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Now I'm really excited for you to listen to this interview.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It is with returning guest Scott Nathan. And let me
- 12:19Speaker 2: tell you what we get into because it is juicy.
- 12:22Speaker 2: We talk about more tips for sugar babies. We talk
- 12:24Speaker 2: about how modeling has changed. We talk about an amazing
- 12:28Speaker 2: story of finding his adoptive family, which is so juicy
- 12:32Speaker 2: and unexpected. So get ready for a juicy, fun one. Enjoy.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Hi Juicy Scoopers, thanks for watching me on my YouTube channel.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Please subscribe to the channel and please hit that notification
- 12:43Speaker 2: bell so you don't miss any of my episodes and
- 12:47Speaker 2: juicy funny videos that I post here. Thank you. I
- 12:51Speaker 2: have one of the guys that just tells the juiciest
- 12:55Speaker 2: scoops ever and you guys have really enjoyed him and
- 12:57Speaker 2: you've been begging for this ginger to return.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Ginger pack.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yes, I have another ginger, Brad Wallach, but you are
- 13:05Speaker 2: my ginger, my newer ginger, named Scott Nathan, photographer, commercial actor,
- 13:13Speaker 2: model in the music industry, and really gatekeeper of the
- 13:18Speaker 2: juiciest stories that now you are not gatekeeping anymore and
- 13:21Speaker 2: you're sharing with us.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Nope, we have 57 juicy stories coming out soon on
- 13:25Speaker 4: the Big Book of Bad Decision, which I'm hoping to
- 13:27Speaker 4: draw up October 10th. Yes.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Well, first I want to just go, you posted something
- 13:31Speaker 2: about this recently on your TikTok.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Heather.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And it is, I remember the show is on the CW.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Is the CW still around?
- 13:40Speaker 4: I have no idea. Okay. Anyway. Never saw the show.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And you were on the poster, but you were in
- 13:46Speaker 2: the movie, in the TV show. It's called Beauty and
- 13:49Speaker 2: the Geek.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Produced by Ashton Kutcher.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Wait, it was a movie.
- 13:52Speaker 4: No, it was a TV show. It was a series.
- 13:54Speaker 2: And it was the third season?
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah. This was season three, yeah.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They had three seasons of this, and then you're on
- 13:59Speaker 2: the poster looking like a typical nerd. I don't think
- 14:04Speaker 2: I've ever seen a guy with glasses where they have
- 14:06Speaker 2: masking tape on it.
- 14:08Speaker 4: I think it might have been a band-aid.
- 14:09Speaker 2: A band-aid. A mismatch made in heaven. Yeah. Okay, I'm
- 14:13Speaker 2: kind of remembering this show. It was like a dating
- 14:16Speaker 2: show where really pretty girls are like, these douchey guys
- 14:21Speaker 2: have done nothing for us, so now we're going to
- 14:22Speaker 2: go for the nice nerd.
- 14:23Speaker 4: The nerds, yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 2: So tell us how you got this.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I never saw the show. It was produced by Ashton Kutcher.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Okay. So in modeling and acting, the dream is the
- 14:33Speaker 4: direct booking. You know, you've done commercials I have. You
- 14:36Speaker 4: have to go there. Then you have to go to
- 14:37Speaker 4: a callback and then sometimes a second callback and then
- 14:40Speaker 4: a fitting. This one was like my agent called me
- 14:43Speaker 4: and she's like, honey, I got a direct booking for you.
- 14:45Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh, that's the dream. What is it?
- 14:46Speaker 4: And she's like, and it's stills. It'll be fast. And
- 14:48Speaker 4: I'm like, what is it? And she's like, that's for
- 14:50Speaker 4: this TV show. So I show up there, and they've
- 14:52Speaker 4: got plastic pocket protectors and glasses held together with Band-Aids
- 14:57Speaker 4: and all these nerdy outfits. There's another one that I
- 15:00Speaker 4: didn't find for you. It's called Trendy vs. Trekkie, and
- 15:03Speaker 4: it has a hot girl in a little black dress.
- 15:05Speaker 4: And I'm standing there pigeon-toed with New Balance sneakers and
- 15:08Speaker 4: polyester pants that are halfway up my leg.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Just looking as geeky as possible.
- 15:12Speaker 4: As geeky as possible. And I'm lying here with this
- 15:14Speaker 4: hot bikini girl. And I did it. It was just
- 15:17Speaker 4: another job. I did it. I promptly forgot about it.
- 15:20Speaker 4: And then cut to, I'm at the Lakers game, Davis Factor,
- 15:25Speaker 4: and we went up to the balcony of the Staples
- 15:27Speaker 4: Center to just take a little break and smoke, whatever.
- 15:31Speaker 4: and I'm facing, I've got my back to the city,
- 15:34Speaker 4: and he's facing out, and he goes, ah! And I go,
- 15:36Speaker 4: what's wrong with you? And he goes, turn around, and
- 15:38Speaker 4: the entire side of the Hotel Figaro was that picture.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And then we leave the building, and it's on every bus,
- 15:44Speaker 4: and every bus stop, and it's on the 101 freeway,
- 15:47Speaker 4: and it's on by Warner Brothers on the billboards, and
- 15:49Speaker 4: this thing was omnipresent, and I was trying to deny it,
- 15:52Speaker 4: but it's pretty hard to deny. People are like, is
- 15:53Speaker 4: that you on Beauty and the Geek? And I'm like, no,
- 15:57Speaker 4: it's not me.
- 15:59Speaker 2: How much did you get paid?
- 16:00Speaker 4: Do you recall? I don't remember. I want to say
- 16:02Speaker 4: maybe a couple of grand.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And was the show a hit? It was the third season,
- 16:08Speaker 2: so it must have done okay. Was this the third
- 16:10Speaker 2: and final season? Do you know?
- 16:11Speaker 4: I don't have the slightest idea.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I just kind of remember when I saw this. I
- 16:16Speaker 2: was like, okay, I do remember this. Kind of one
- 16:19Speaker 2: of those weird memories where you're like, I don't know
- 16:21Speaker 2: if I saw it. I don't know if I saw
- 16:23Speaker 2: it on the billboard or whatever. So how long was
- 16:27Speaker 2: it out and about haunting your days as you went
- 16:29Speaker 2: and got coffee?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Months. Months. And like my family saw it. Kids that
- 16:35Speaker 4: went to high school saw it. And they're like, stop
- 16:37Speaker 4: trying to deny it's you. That's you. We know that's you.
- 16:39Speaker 4: And I'm like, fine, it's me. And they're like, how
- 16:41Speaker 4: did you get on the show? I'm like, I've never
- 16:43Speaker 4: seen the show. And they're like, why didn't they use
- 16:45Speaker 4: someone from the show? And I'm like, I don't know.
- 16:46Speaker 4: I'm not in the TV business. I don't know why
- 16:48Speaker 4: they used me.
- 16:49Speaker 2: That is kind of interesting. Yeah, they didn't use someone
- 16:51Speaker 2: from the show, but I can see that. You know,
- 16:54Speaker 2: maybe there wasn't someone that had that perfect geek factor.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Where you have a redhead, everything about it. It's perfect.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Just what they did with my hair.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Was the girl laying next to you or you did
- 17:05Speaker 2: it by yourself?
- 17:06Speaker 5: No, no.
- 17:06Speaker 4: She was laying next to me. She was a nice girl.
- 17:08Speaker 4: I can't remember. Daniela, I think, was her name. And
- 17:09Speaker 4: she's just like this. I think she came from Body
- 17:12Speaker 4: Parts Models. Do you know that agency?
- 17:14Speaker 2: No, but explain to the people.
- 17:16Speaker 4: So folks at home. If you can't afford a real
- 17:19Speaker 4: model and you want, say, beautiful hands to display a
- 17:22Speaker 4: watch or a manicure. Move a little forward, more forward.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Or beautiful feet or great legs or a great butt.
- 17:29Speaker 4: There's this place. There's two agencies. I can't remember what
- 17:31Speaker 4: the other one's called, but there's one called Body Parts Models.
- 17:33Speaker 4: And the guy who owns it's a real pisser. I
- 17:35Speaker 4: called him and I said, do you have like an
- 17:37Speaker 4: agency motto? And he says, yes, bodies to die for,
- 17:40Speaker 4: faces to protect them, which is amazing.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I dated a guy who was a very good looking guy.
- 17:47Speaker 2: and he was a normal model, but he was also
- 17:51Speaker 2: just getting into hand modeling. So he was very self-conscious
- 17:55Speaker 2: about doing anything with his, even though he was athletic
- 17:58Speaker 2: and stuff, it was like, no, I have to protect
- 18:01Speaker 2: these hands. Yeah, and I have to, you know what,
- 18:03Speaker 2: he was like a surfer, he was like a really
- 18:04Speaker 2: cute guy, but he was like, the hand modeling thing
- 18:07Speaker 2: is like a whole extra side gig. Yeah. And that
- 18:11Speaker 2: can do really well, you know, with like holding a product.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I use them for movie posters because the thing is
- 18:16Speaker 4: you're not– when you're doing a movie poster shoot, you're
- 18:18Speaker 4: not getting an actor for a 10-hour day. So what
- 18:20Speaker 4: we would do is we'd get all these girls from
- 18:22Speaker 4: Body Parts Models and even from Model Mayhem, put them
- 18:25Speaker 4: in all the poses, experiment with them all day, and
- 18:27Speaker 4: they were practically free. They were a couple hundred bucks
- 18:29Speaker 4: for a 10-hour day. And then we would Photoshop the
- 18:32Speaker 4: movie star's heads on them afterward.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I know that Pretty Woman, when the movie
- 18:39Speaker 2: came out, there was this, before the movie came out,
- 18:41Speaker 2: this person that I knew had the poster in their room.
- 18:45Speaker 2: And I go, what's that about? And it was Julia
- 18:48Speaker 2: Roberts and Richard Gere. And they're like, no, don't you know,
- 18:53Speaker 2: whatever the girl's, Paige or whatever, she's a DG, she's
- 18:56Speaker 2: the body model. She was the body model for Julia Roberts.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And I go, really? And then I was so conscious
- 19:05Speaker 2: of like the parts in the movie where she puts
- 19:08Speaker 2: her back up against the Ferrari and he's like, all right,
- 19:12Speaker 2: come on, help me drive the car. And I'm like, yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 2: that's too tiny of a waist, too perfect of a butt,
- 19:17Speaker 2: even though Julia Roberts has, you know, a fantastic figure.
- 19:20Speaker 4: It's awkward being in a casting room because like we,
- 19:22Speaker 4: there are norms, there are conventions. So like when a
- 19:25Speaker 4: model comes in, even if she's got like a very
- 19:27Speaker 4: sexy outfit on, I'm looking at them in the eye
- 19:29Speaker 4: and I'm talking to them and I look at their book.
- 19:32Speaker 4: But these girls come into castings. I remember I did
- 19:34Speaker 4: a gig for Skechers, and we needed legs and butt models.
- 19:38Speaker 4: So you open up their portfolios, and they're all pictures
- 19:41Speaker 4: of their ass. And they're like, do you want me
- 19:42Speaker 4: to walk for you? And I'm like, sure. And you
- 19:44Speaker 4: feel weird just staring at someone's butt. And you're like, oh,
- 19:47Speaker 4: that's a good butt. Oh, that one's a little higher.
- 19:49Speaker 4: That one's a little round. And it's a funny business,
- 19:53Speaker 4: but something for everyone.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I'm going to say something right now that
- 19:57Speaker 2: I'm looking at this. That's not a great hand with
- 20:00Speaker 2: a short stubby finger.
- 20:01Speaker 4: That is not a great hand. No manicure.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I just switched to another photo and it's just of
- 20:06Speaker 2: Scott's face. But it's a girl's, obviously a girl hand
- 20:10Speaker 2: because it has a red nail, but it actually looks
- 20:13Speaker 2: kind of manly. And it almost looks like there's like
- 20:15Speaker 2: a little hairy knuckle.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I think there's a little hair on that. And it's
- 20:18Speaker 4: like the cuticle's not painted and it's kind of stumpy.
- 20:21Speaker 2: That's so interesting.
- 20:22Speaker 4: I guess the CW didn't want to kick down for
- 20:24Speaker 4: the hand model, but it was one of the two
- 20:26Speaker 4: other models that I worked with that day.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. So funny.
- 20:32Speaker 6: Christmas shopping has already started in our house. My daughter
- 20:35Speaker 6: is so organised, already planning Christmas gifts from Macaulay. Hair
- 20:40Speaker 6: care for her aunt and a fab fragrance for her bestie.
- 20:42Speaker 6: But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm
- 20:45Speaker 6: an early bird, buying one present a week from now
- 20:47Speaker 6: till Christmas, which makes budgeting less stressful. I can buy
- 20:50Speaker 6: in-store or online from Macaulay.ie for home delivery or free
- 20:54Speaker 6: click and collect.
- 20:55Speaker 2: So easy.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Gifts they'll cherish at prices you'll love.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 21:05Speaker 1: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 21:08Speaker 1: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 21:12Speaker 1: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 21:19Speaker 3: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 21:22Speaker 4: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 21:24Speaker 4: what would you do if it was given back?
- 21:26Speaker 1: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 21:29Speaker 1: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 21:31Speaker 4: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 21:33Speaker 4: home dad. What happens next? When I came in, he
- 21:35Speaker 4: started crying.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 21:41Speaker 1: those hard moments that they go through.
- 21:43Speaker 4: It's about what happens next. I decided to risk it all.
- 21:46Speaker 4: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work. Listen, Dara,
- 21:50Speaker 4: I'm not going to pull punches.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 21:53Speaker 1: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Only one question matters.
- 21:59Speaker 4: What happens next?
- 22:08Speaker 2: Um, yes.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So let's, uh, let's talk a little bit. I'm going
- 22:13Speaker 2: to go just to your book. This is the book
- 22:15Speaker 2: of bad decisions.
- 22:16Speaker 4: The big book of bad decisions.
- 22:17Speaker 2: The big book of bad decisions. And you can pre-order it,
- 22:22Speaker 2: buy it. What's going on right now?
- 22:24Speaker 4: By the time it airs, there will be a Kickstarter campaign. Um,
- 22:28Speaker 4: and I don't have the URL for it, but if
- 22:29Speaker 4: you go to baddecisionsbook.com and there's a QR code, you
- 22:34Speaker 4: can sign up for the mailing list and I will
- 22:35Speaker 4: just hit you the second it drops.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Okay, awesome. Okay, so now let's get into, I want
- 22:41Speaker 2: to talk a little bit about, we were talking about models.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I'm just going to go back to this one just
- 22:45Speaker 2: so we can, hold on. We were talking about models
- 22:51Speaker 2: and you did a TikTok and I was like, okay,
- 22:54Speaker 2: I want to discuss more. Because you did all these
- 22:57Speaker 2: huge modeling campaigns, you know, in the last 25 years
- 23:01Speaker 2: or whatever, explain to me what you were saying on
- 23:04Speaker 2: your TikTok about how much the industry has sort of changed.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And you can be honest, and this might be, some
- 23:11Speaker 2: people may not like it, but I think it's interesting.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I'm going to let it fly.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 4: And I'm unapologetic. Good.
- 23:18Speaker 2: It's called Juicy Scoop, people.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I believe in inclusion. I did one of the
- 23:23Speaker 4: most well-known campaigns of inclusion of different body types, my
- 23:27Speaker 4: NIA campaign. And I believe that there is a place
- 23:31Speaker 4: for it. But I don't believe, if everyone's a model, Heather,
- 23:34Speaker 4: no one's a model. Like, I'm not down with it.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I believe that there should be gatekeepers to a degree. Like,
- 23:42Speaker 4: I wanted to play for the Lakers when I was
- 23:44Speaker 4: a kid. It didn't work out, way it goes. You
- 23:47Speaker 4: know what I mean? It's just like, I don't think,
- 23:49Speaker 4: if the influencer models of today are the best we
- 23:53Speaker 4: can do, I am unimpressed. And you know, I'm sorry,
- 23:56Speaker 4: like the supermodels of the eighties and nineties are not
- 24:01Speaker 4: what today is. And I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna
- 24:03Speaker 4: flame anybody by naming names, but we all know who
- 24:05Speaker 4: we're talking about. And it's unfortunate because. Castings are done
- 24:09Speaker 4: by follower count, not by skill, not by natural beauty.
- 24:13Speaker 2: You mean by the influencer having 10 million followers, she
- 24:16Speaker 2: gets the campaign.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Versus back in the day where you could be, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 2: not have any followers, be just a pretty girl that
- 24:24Speaker 2: really wants to model, get in with the agent, do
- 24:27Speaker 2: your stuff, show up on time and be stunning.
- 24:29Speaker 4: Yeah, or plucked from obscurity like Kate Moss.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:32Speaker 4: And- The same thing holds true with photographers. The photographers
- 24:38Speaker 4: that are booking the most gigs are the people who
- 24:40Speaker 4: shoot the most pornographic images in their Instagram. They get
- 24:44Speaker 4: the big followers and then they don't know what they're doing.
- 24:46Speaker 4: And then there's also models who are now photographers. Like
- 24:49Speaker 4: I know a pretty big model that I worked with
- 24:51Speaker 4: once before who then she said, I'm going to be
- 24:53Speaker 4: a photographer. So I ran into her at the lab
- 24:55Speaker 4: on Wilshire Boulevard one day and she goes, oh, I
- 24:57Speaker 4: just shot a Levi's campaign and a Ray-Ban campaign. Do
- 25:00Speaker 4: you want to see my film? And I was like, yeah, sure.
- 25:03Speaker 4: And she did not know what she was doing. And
- 25:05Speaker 4: I was looking at the contact sheets on the table
- 25:09Speaker 4: and she didn't know that you could move the autofocus
- 25:12Speaker 4: point on the screen. So she had the default autofocus point,
- 25:15Speaker 4: which was the center of the frame. So there's all
- 25:17Speaker 4: these denim shirts for Levi's and the focus is on
- 25:20Speaker 4: the button in the middle of the shirt and all
- 25:23Speaker 4: of the faces were out of focus. And I said,
- 25:25Speaker 4: you know, you can move the autofocus point or you
- 25:28Speaker 4: can just point at the face and then recompose and
- 25:30Speaker 4: take the picture. And she goes, you know what? I
- 25:32Speaker 4: didn't ask for your fucking help.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 25:34Speaker 4: And I said, well, you did kind of. And you
- 25:37Speaker 4: know what? And you know what? To these businesses, I
- 25:40Speaker 4: don't feel sorry for you at all. You got what
- 25:42Speaker 4: you deserved. You hired a model to do a photo
- 25:44Speaker 4: shoot and you got burned. And shoots are expensive. But
- 25:46Speaker 4: you know what's really expensive? Reshoots.
- 25:49Speaker 1: So.
- 25:49Speaker 2: But, you know, we were saying like, you know, I
- 25:53Speaker 2: think it's kind of interesting when sometimes I see I'm
- 25:56Speaker 2: walking through Target and I'm in the beauty section. And,
- 25:59Speaker 2: you know, there's a big photo of a girl and
- 26:03Speaker 2: it's up close because we're in the skin aisle. And
- 26:08Speaker 2: I'm like, this girl doesn't even have good skin.
- 26:10Speaker 3: No.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I'm like, is this a new thing like to show
- 26:14Speaker 2: the pores and the facial hair that they didn't even
- 26:17Speaker 2: like exfoliate?
- 26:19Speaker 4: A lot of brands are doing the we don't retouch thing.
- 26:22Speaker 4: I'm not a ham-fisted retoucher. I've never done that much
- 26:25Speaker 4: of it. But I also try to get it in camera.
- 26:28Speaker 4: When you're selling skin care- I only want to see
- 26:30Speaker 4: girls with perfect skin. If I'm selling hair, I only
- 26:33Speaker 4: want to see girls with epic hair. Our job as
- 26:36Speaker 4: photographers and as models is to sell soap. And by soap,
- 26:39Speaker 4: that's just an X for whatever it is that we're selling.
- 26:42Speaker 4: When I shot the U.S. Marine Corps campaign, I didn't
- 26:45Speaker 4: get an out-of-shape guy with a fat stomach. I would
- 26:50Speaker 4: never hire me to shoot a Marines campaign. I chose
- 26:53Speaker 4: the guys with the best bodies. We are there to
- 26:55Speaker 4: sell consumer products. We're there to sell faces or makeup canvases.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Clothes are clothing hangers. There's a reason that models were
- 27:02Speaker 4: always 5'9 to 5'11 because that's what the drawings look like.
- 27:06Speaker 4: That's the way dresses look the best. It's not personal.
- 27:10Speaker 4: I love you all. As a man, I'm generally grateful
- 27:12Speaker 4: for whatever's next to me. But as a photographer, I
- 27:15Speaker 4: want perfection because I can't make a great photo with
- 27:20Speaker 4: someone who isn't photogenic, doesn't have experience, has never practiced it,
- 27:24Speaker 4: and just doesn't have the chops. Just like you wouldn't
- 27:27Speaker 4: watch a donkey race in the Kentucky Derby. Nobody wants
- 27:30Speaker 4: to see that. Sorry. I know.
- 27:33Speaker 2: It's like I have joked where I'm like, gosh, you know,
- 27:37Speaker 2: why is it wrong that a pretty girl does get
- 27:40Speaker 2: jobs for pretty girls? You know, she's pretty. That's one
- 27:44Speaker 2: of her gifts. Maybe she's also really smart, but maybe
- 27:48Speaker 2: she isn't smart enough to be an astronaut. Okay.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 2: So, like, let her have the job. Or let her
- 27:55Speaker 2: be the person that gets, you know, hired to be whatever,
- 27:58Speaker 2: the model in the.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Movie or whatever. Which is a narrow job anyway. Like,
- 28:01Speaker 4: if you look at the, in the best of circumstances,
- 28:04Speaker 4: a model, and there are exceptions, but a model is
- 28:07Speaker 4: like a pro athlete. If you're lucky, and I mean
- 28:09Speaker 4: really lucky, you'll have a three to five year career.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Then you have to do something else anyway. Yeah. You know,
- 28:15Speaker 4: we all have our windows. We all like to think
- 28:17Speaker 4: we're aging like first growth Bordeaux, but we're not.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Now, you did another one I thought that was interesting
- 28:24Speaker 2: about girls you knew that went for the breast augmentation. Okay,
- 28:30Speaker 2: tell me about that and your opinion on that.
- 28:32Speaker 4: So this is just– there's no peer-reviewed scientific studies on this,
- 28:36Speaker 4: but I've been around. I'm not infinitely wise, but I
- 28:39Speaker 4: am infinitely experienced. Anything you've done, I have probably already overdone, people.
- 28:43Speaker 4: So I have just– and this isn't just models. This
- 28:45Speaker 4: isn't just adult performers. I know people in the State Department.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I know people on the news. Everyone I know, almost
- 28:52Speaker 4: without exception, who got breast augmentations either upgraded their dating life,
- 28:58Speaker 4: got a great husband, got a better job, got more promotions.
- 29:02Speaker 4: These are the science of boobs.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I agree.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Right?
- 29:07Speaker 2: I agree. Well, I think the same thing goes for
- 29:10Speaker 2: a nose job besides Jennifer Grey. And even Jennifer Grey
- 29:14Speaker 2: might be like, I don't care. I'm still happier with
- 29:17Speaker 2: when I have to wake up in the morning and
- 29:19Speaker 2: brush my teeth and look in the mirror. Like, I
- 29:20Speaker 2: don't know. I think it's plastic surgery in general. And
- 29:25Speaker 2: I think if it's something that bothered you, you know,
- 29:29Speaker 2: you didn't like the size of your breasts or you
- 29:31Speaker 2: didn't like your nose or whatever. you didn't like your teeth.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Or your proportions to your hips or whatever.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I think anybody that goes for it, in the
- 29:39Speaker 2: most part, provided they don't go down this road of
- 29:41Speaker 2: the exaggerated ass or the ridiculous balloon boobs or where
- 29:46Speaker 2: they're on botched being like, I got addicted to it.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Just a tweak here or there, I think it's great.
- 29:53Speaker 2: And I always say like, look, God created plastic surgeons
- 29:57Speaker 2: and There was a time where I'm sure people were
- 30:00Speaker 2: like critical of women who were getting their teeth straightened
- 30:04Speaker 2: with braces. I'm sure there was a time where it
- 30:06Speaker 2: was like, oh, she's so vain. She got braces. And
- 30:08Speaker 2: then it all became everybody gets braces in middle school. And,
- 30:12Speaker 2: you know, if you don't if you or a time
- 30:14Speaker 2: where women had gray hair and they started to dye
- 30:16Speaker 2: their hair and the ladies around the village or whatever
- 30:20Speaker 2: probably gave them shit for it. So I think it's
- 30:22Speaker 2: the same thing. I do think all these things will
- 30:25Speaker 2: just become more normal.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and this isn't me encouraging people to get breast augmentation.
- 30:30Speaker 4: It's like I love cute little A's that look good
- 30:32Speaker 4: in a T-shirt. Yeah. Personally, I've just noticed this. And
- 30:36Speaker 4: to me, know thyself. If it's something like I've known
- 30:38Speaker 4: girls that were kind of bigger frame girls that have
- 30:41Speaker 4: big hips and they're like, I want to get a
- 30:42Speaker 4: little boob to even me out proportionally. And it's know thyself.
- 30:47Speaker 4: And I've also seen terrible cases of body dysmorphia disorder
- 30:50Speaker 4: where they can't stop.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:52Speaker 4: You know, like I have one friend and I'm like,
- 30:54Speaker 4: you're doing the right amount, just a little bit of lip,
- 30:57Speaker 4: but I can see you're going too far. And she
- 30:59Speaker 4: went from looking like the prettiest girl in high school
- 31:03Speaker 4: to just an old plus. She looks 15 years older
- 31:06Speaker 4: than she looks now because of so much filler and
- 31:09Speaker 4: so much Botox and the giant veneers.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Does she not see it yet or does she does
- 31:13Speaker 2: see it?
- 31:13Speaker 4: No, she's in total dysmorphia. She just keeps going. She
- 31:15Speaker 4: cannot stop.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I know.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I know.
- 31:19Speaker 2: And I just think it's because there's certain people, it's
- 31:21Speaker 2: that certain look. Like even when now when you look
- 31:24Speaker 2: at somebody, you're like, oh, like a photo on Instagram,
- 31:27Speaker 2: you're like, oh, I thought that was Khloe Kardashian or
- 31:30Speaker 2: I thought that because everybody's getting the same look.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Same look, same doctors.
- 31:35Speaker 2: And I really think that's crazy. If you want to
- 31:37Speaker 2: be in this business, don't you want to stand out?
- 31:38Speaker 2: I mean, you can still be very pretty and have
- 31:40Speaker 2: a slight bump on your nose.
- 31:42Speaker 4: And I think our imperfections make us perfect. Like I
- 31:45Speaker 4: think to me, some of the sexiest things, like, we're
- 31:48Speaker 4: dating ourselves here, but Michelle, Michelle Pfeiffer's lopsided mouth, I
- 31:52Speaker 4: thought was like one of the sexiest things ever. Like
- 31:55Speaker 4: I like, I like prominent noses on women. It's just
- 31:58Speaker 4: my thing.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Right. And it just makes you, yeah. I mean, it's like,
- 32:02Speaker 2: look at Barbara Streisand. If Barbara Streisand would have gotten
- 32:04Speaker 2: a nose job, she wouldn't, she wouldn't have been her.
- 32:08Speaker 2: She wouldn't have been that woman that like was so
- 32:10Speaker 2: convincing in these parts because you're like, I, I know
- 32:13Speaker 2: that woman, you know, like I, I think if you
- 32:16Speaker 2: want to be a real actress that you should hold
- 32:20Speaker 2: back on some of these major look changes, you know?
- 32:24Speaker 4: Yeah. If I see too much of it and the
- 32:28Speaker 4: humanity goes away in the face, I won't book them.
- 32:31Speaker 4: You know, I feel like a lot of women are
- 32:33Speaker 4: out there getting work done in a vain attempt to
- 32:36Speaker 4: extend their career when they are in fact ending it.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Because I'll see the ridge on the lip and I'm like,
- 32:40Speaker 4: I can't shoot around that. And I'm not paying.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Somebody because of the filler yeah yeah yeah.
- 32:45Speaker 4: The filler where it's where it looks like a coaster
- 32:47Speaker 4: you could put a drink on yeah or they look
- 32:49Speaker 4: like a grouper you know like a big lipped fish
- 32:52Speaker 4: or there's no expression there's nothing around here and there's
- 32:55Speaker 4: nothing in the forehead and i'm like i need i
- 32:57Speaker 4: need humanity and it reminds me of that that other
- 33:00Speaker 4: tiktok i did about the did you see the glamour
- 33:03Speaker 4: magazine the first ai fashion.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Editorial yes tell us about that Yeah, so I saw.
- 33:08Speaker 4: This and I'm like, well, here we go. The model's
- 33:09Speaker 4: been replaced. The photographer's been replaced. Everything's been replaced. And
- 33:12Speaker 4: you look through it and at a glance, it looks
- 33:15Speaker 4: just like any other fashion photograph. But when you look
- 33:18Speaker 4: at it, the eyes are just lifeless and cold and
- 33:23Speaker 4: the skin is plasticky. And, you know, I think AI
- 33:27Speaker 4: is going to be good for a lot of things.
- 33:28Speaker 4: It'll be great for coding websites. It'll be great for
- 33:31Speaker 4: making white pages. it will replace extras in movies that
- 33:34Speaker 4: are out of focus. It'll be great for stuff like that.
- 33:37Speaker 4: But I believe, and a lot of people think I'm
- 33:39Speaker 4: just old school thinking, I believe you need humanity to
- 33:43Speaker 4: create humanity.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I just saw Raven-Symoné in an interview. And she was
- 33:51Speaker 2: the little kid on Cosby Show. But she went on
- 33:55Speaker 2: to be that. So Raven, she was on The View.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I've worked with her. She's like a really smart woman.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Right.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And- It was like, well, what do you think? You know,
- 34:03Speaker 2: which is often when a lot, even though these people
- 34:05Speaker 2: go on to be successful, same thing when I interviewed
- 34:08Speaker 2: Corey Feldman. You know, what do you think about child
- 34:11Speaker 2: actors or whatever? And she actually said, I don't think
- 34:16Speaker 2: a child actor should be on camera working at all
- 34:20Speaker 2: in any capacity until they're over 10. And maybe if
- 34:25Speaker 2: you need that child, use A.I., which I think is
- 34:29Speaker 2: kind of a hard, bizarre thing, because I do think
- 34:33Speaker 2: there are people that have done it right. I mean,
- 34:35Speaker 2: you're telling me that like, you know, um, Ron Howard
- 34:40Speaker 2: wasn't a successful story, you know, Fred Savage. I mean, there's,
- 34:44Speaker 2: there's people that can do it. They go on to
- 34:47Speaker 2: other things like it and, you know, providing their parents
- 34:50Speaker 2: are okay. And especially now today, I.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Really think really good parents too. You know, I worked
- 34:55Speaker 4: with Lindsay Lowen, as you know, right. And, uh, And
- 34:59Speaker 4: I love Lindsay. And I like her dad okay. And
- 35:02Speaker 4: I'm not blaming her parents. But here's the thing. I've
- 35:06Speaker 4: had the crap kicked out of me a lot in
- 35:08Speaker 4: my life. I've been humbled a lot in my life
- 35:10Speaker 4: because I've gone through this. But I can't imagine me
- 35:14Speaker 4: at 16, 15, 18 years old where I'm in a
- 35:17Speaker 4: world with unlimited money where no one's telling me no.
- 35:20Speaker 4: And I can't think of the level of a-hole I
- 35:23Speaker 4: would have been. The entitlement. I'm a nice guy, but
- 35:26Speaker 4: I also have been told no plenty.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Well, we had an agent, Iris Burton. Did you ever
- 35:34Speaker 2: hear of Iris Burton back in your day? She was
- 35:35Speaker 2: a big child agent. I think she might have had
- 35:37Speaker 2: like Leonardo DiCaprio, whatever. And she was our agent, my
- 35:41Speaker 2: two sisters and I, because she was representing the neighbors
- 35:45Speaker 2: or whatever. And she met us. And my sister Shannon,
- 35:49Speaker 2: who went on to be an attorney, she worked a lot.
- 35:51Speaker 2: And she had a very She had, my other sister
- 35:54Speaker 2: and I were brown hair, broad eyes, but she was
- 35:56Speaker 2: lighter skin. She had blue eyes, freckles, blonde hair. That
- 35:59Speaker 2: was the look they wanted more than our look. And
- 36:02Speaker 2: she was good at it. And she got a bunch
- 36:03Speaker 2: of commercials and stuff. And my mom would take me
- 36:08Speaker 2: out of school. And then they said, she's got to
- 36:11Speaker 2: have pigtails and she's got to wear these overalls. So
- 36:13Speaker 2: then my mom would have to brush my hair out,
- 36:15Speaker 2: put them in pigtails, drive me there. And I remember
- 36:18Speaker 2: by the time I got to Hollywood, I was so tired.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I fell asleep and I wasn't good in the room.
- 36:22Speaker 2: And then at home, I'd be doing characters and running around.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And my mom was like, why can't you be like
- 36:28Speaker 2: this when I take you? in the room. And I
- 36:31Speaker 2: remember feeling so guilty that I had wasted her time
- 36:38Speaker 2: and not booked anything. And I knew how much time
- 36:41Speaker 2: it took out of her day and how it wasn't
- 36:43Speaker 2: resulting in anything for her, for myself, for the family.
- 36:48Speaker 2: And I just thought of that. I really was like, God,
- 36:51Speaker 2: you're right. I suck. I suck. And then I didn't
- 36:54Speaker 2: really pursue it. Then my mom, then Shannon got to
- 36:57Speaker 2: kind of stop booking stuff and they stopped calling because
- 36:59Speaker 2: she got out of the age range. And they took
- 37:02Speaker 2: that money. And I don't think we put it in
- 37:09Speaker 2: her private fund. I really don't. Because all of a
- 37:11Speaker 2: sudden we had an addition. But anyway, to our house.
- 37:15Speaker 2: But my parents, you know. She had a good life.
- 37:17Speaker 2: They paid for college, whatever. But honestly, I don't know.
- 37:20Speaker 2: And back then, commercials made a lot. And the kids
- 37:22Speaker 2: were real jealous of her. And they were like, oh,
- 37:26Speaker 2: we saw you on Bold 3. And they were so
- 37:28Speaker 2: mean and bullying her. And they're like, how did you
- 37:31Speaker 2: make off that? How did you make off that? And
- 37:33Speaker 2: my mom said, just say you made a lot. Well,
- 37:35Speaker 2: that didn't make the kids happy.
- 37:37Speaker 4: No, no.
- 37:39Speaker 2: And so then whatever. Then by high school, she wasn't
- 37:41Speaker 2: doing it. No one was remembering and nobody cared anymore.
- 37:44Speaker 2: And then she never pursued it. And then I did.
- 37:48Speaker 2: But yeah, it is a weird thing no matter how
- 37:51Speaker 2: nice and great your parents are. And I just thought
- 37:53Speaker 2: of that. That is hard.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Yeah. Peter O'Toole said something funny. He says, there's no
- 37:57Speaker 4: such thing as a effing child actor. They're just children
- 38:01Speaker 4: that are either watchable or not.
- 38:04Speaker 2: That is, yeah, you're right. Like, why are they working?
- 38:06Speaker 2: It's like saying, I mean, this isn't right, but I'm
- 38:09Speaker 2: just saying when people say, you know, a child prostitute
- 38:11Speaker 2: or a teen prostitute, no, they're victims. Like, you can't be, so,
- 38:15Speaker 2: and it's probably a bad example, but I'm saying, like,
- 38:17Speaker 2: you're right. They're just children. They shouldn't have jobs.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a weird X factor that some people are
- 38:22Speaker 4: just watchable, and it's not by how pretty they are,
- 38:25Speaker 4: because you look at Philip Seymour Hoffman, and that guy
- 38:27Speaker 4: would chew through the scenery. He could have three lines
- 38:30Speaker 4: in a movie, and I'd be like, oh, that was
- 38:31Speaker 4: a freight train. Yeah, you can't take your eyes off
- 38:35Speaker 4: of him. Yeah, I don't love Will Smith movies necessarily,
- 38:38Speaker 4: but I'll always watch a Will Smith movie because he's
- 38:41Speaker 4: so watchable.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Oh, so interesting.
- 38:43Speaker 4: You know, he's a movie star and it's one of
- 38:45Speaker 4: those things that I've never managed to figure out, but
- 38:47Speaker 4: some people are just more watchable than others.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I know.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Like you. Thank you.
- 38:52Speaker 2: I had this one guy that said, I'm not a
- 38:54Speaker 2: good actor, but I'm really good at auditioning. And he
- 38:57Speaker 2: never became like an Oscar winner, but he would book
- 38:59Speaker 2: a lot of stuff as a teenager and a young adult.
- 39:02Speaker 2: He'd book the guest spots. He'd book the pilots. They never,
- 39:06Speaker 2: it wasn't an ultimate success, but he was that person
- 39:09Speaker 2: that would just come and get the job done, be
- 39:12Speaker 2: charming in the room, hit the lines, hit the mark,
- 39:15Speaker 2: you know, make it easy for everyone.
- 39:16Speaker 4: I worked on a shoot with Lisa Kudrow once. Yeah.
- 39:18Speaker 4: And I know I kind of roasted her on Instagram
- 39:20Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Why, what did you say?
- 39:22Speaker 4: We'll get to that.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 4: So, but I asked her, I said, I heard about,
- 39:26Speaker 4: I had a friend that worked on Friends, my friend Todd,
- 39:28Speaker 4: and I asked her, I said, I know how that
- 39:31Speaker 4: was one of the toughest cycles of auditions ever. I
- 39:33Speaker 4: know all about it. What do you, how do you
- 39:36Speaker 4: think you want it when everybody else just kept callback, callback,
- 39:40Speaker 4: call it. There were a lot of callbacks and a
- 39:41Speaker 4: lot of pressure. And she said, all I did She goes,
- 39:45Speaker 4: all I did was the same exact thing every time.
- 39:47Speaker 4: And I watched everybody second guess themselves and choke and
- 39:51Speaker 4: panic in the waiting area. And I just did the
- 39:53Speaker 4: same thing over and over and over again until I
- 39:55Speaker 4: got it.
- 39:56Speaker 2: She's really smart. So she was my teacher at the Groundlings.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Was she?
- 40:00Speaker 2: Yeah. And I absolutely loved her. And she grew up
- 40:04Speaker 2: here in Woodland Hills. She went to Taft High. And
- 40:07Speaker 2: she basically was someone who's really smart, kind of like
- 40:11Speaker 2: Keenan Iver Waynes, where they They wanted to pursue the arts,
- 40:15Speaker 2: but they also had like a science brain and they
- 40:18Speaker 2: figured out comedic timing and the math of a joke.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And her brother was friends with, oh my God, the
- 40:27Speaker 2: name is escaping me, from SNL, where he'd be like
- 40:30Speaker 2: the lying guy. Oh my God.
- 40:32Speaker 4: John Lovitz? Yes.
- 40:33Speaker 2: I love him. Her brother was friends with John Lovitz.
- 40:35Speaker 2: And then John Lovitz was at the Groundlings and she
- 40:38Speaker 2: went to like go see a show or something. And
- 40:40Speaker 2: she thought, oh my gosh, this is what I want
- 40:42Speaker 2: to do. And she was at Vassar.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:45Speaker 2: And her dad was a doctor. So she had like
- 40:47Speaker 2: the kind of science brain. But she kind of was like, no,
- 40:52Speaker 2: I think I'd rather do this. And so he was like,
- 40:55Speaker 2: go join the Growlings, whatever. And she would watch sitcoms
- 40:59Speaker 2: over and over and over again. And that's when you
- 41:02Speaker 2: had to be there to watch it. You couldn't like
- 41:04Speaker 2: just watch it on YouTube.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:05Speaker 2: And she kind of studied rhythm. Yeah, she studied the
- 41:08Speaker 2: rhythm and everything. And then she also had this unique,
- 41:11Speaker 2: funny ability of creating, you know, original characters like she
- 41:14Speaker 2: did for Phoebe, really. But it was that kind of
- 41:18Speaker 2: a thing. And then when I was doing, when she
- 41:22Speaker 2: was my teacher and she moved me to the next
- 41:24Speaker 2: level and she called and said, OK, you're going to
- 41:26Speaker 2: the next level. And I was like, oh, my gosh,
- 41:28Speaker 2: I'm so excited, you know. And she goes, no, she's like,
- 41:31Speaker 2: you get it. She's like, you get what is funny.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Not everybody gets it. And just keep doing what you're doing.
- 41:38Speaker 2: But she was great. She was always so nice. But
- 41:41Speaker 2: sometimes it can be that. Sometimes it can be... Everyone
- 41:44Speaker 2: has their own path and their own... Using their own
- 41:47Speaker 2: special talents to get to what they want.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Yeah, her thing was just like... Her thought process was like,
- 41:51Speaker 4: they're calling me back for a reason. It means they
- 41:54Speaker 4: like the thing I did last time. So she just
- 41:56Speaker 4: stayed in this character... and never deviated from it and
- 42:00Speaker 4: just didn't allow herself to get rattled. And look, we
- 42:02Speaker 4: all get rattled. I don't get rattled in auditions, but
- 42:06Speaker 4: when you walk into a callback and there's 20 people
- 42:08Speaker 4: in the room and they're all just looking at laptops
- 42:10Speaker 4: and eating pizza and not paying attention, it's.
- 42:13Speaker 2: You mean the producers and stuff when you get into
- 42:15Speaker 2: the room?
- 42:15Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you have all the people from the ad
- 42:17Speaker 4: agency and all the client people and the director and
- 42:19Speaker 4: everyone's just nervous and tense and all the actors are
- 42:23Speaker 4: nervous and tense. And you're just like, this is my moment.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's amazing. Okay, let's talk about some other fun things. Now,
- 42:30Speaker 2: you had kind of an interesting Britney Spears story you
- 42:33Speaker 2: wanted to share.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Oh, my God, yeah. So the only reason I'm telling
- 42:36Speaker 4: this juice is because my friend was so done that
- 42:39Speaker 4: she was just like, you can name my name. I'm
- 42:41Speaker 4: not going to name her name. But a friend of
- 42:42Speaker 4: mine worked at a big music management company. And one
- 42:47Speaker 4: of the clients that she was assigned to was the
- 42:48Speaker 4: day-to-day looking after Britney Spears. And it was a most
- 42:53Speaker 4: unpleasant experience for her.
- 42:55Speaker 2: She was the day-to-day person.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Yeah, she was the day-to-day person who was at Britney's
- 42:58Speaker 4: side at all times. And what year are we talking? 2006, 2007,
- 43:02Speaker 4: around there. So I didn't know that she always had
- 43:06Speaker 4: a different band or that she's one of those people
- 43:08Speaker 4: who always has the craziest job. So she called me
- 43:10Speaker 4: out of the blue and she's like, Scott Nathan, I
- 43:11Speaker 4: need your help right now. And I'm like, what's wrong?
- 43:14Speaker 4: And she's like, I'm with Britney and she will not
- 43:16Speaker 4: put her costume on. I said, what are you talking,
- 43:17Speaker 4: Britney who? And she goes, Spears. And I go, where
- 43:20Speaker 4: are you? And she goes, we're backstage at the VMA Awards,
- 43:24Speaker 4: and she will not put on her costume. Hold on.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Hold on. Brittany, you cannot go on stage in your underwear.
- 43:30Speaker 4: You have to put on your costume. And then I
- 43:31Speaker 4: hear Brittany in the background going, I can do whatever
- 43:34Speaker 4: I want to do, and you don't get to tell
- 43:36Speaker 4: me what to do. And she's like, oh, my God, Scott,
- 43:39Speaker 4: I'm going to have a nervous breakdown right now. Ken
- 43:41Speaker 4: Paves was just here for six hours putting the most
- 43:44Speaker 4: beautiful hair extensions into her hair, and she's cutting them
- 43:47Speaker 4: out with nail scissors. So I was just like, I
- 43:50Speaker 4: don't know how I can help Michelle. I'm sitting here
- 43:52Speaker 4: on my couch. And she was just like, so she goes,
- 43:57Speaker 4: she has to go on stage now. What do I do?
- 43:59Speaker 4: And I'm like, it sounds like she doesn't want to
- 44:00Speaker 4: put the costume on. So she's, so I'm like, just
- 44:03Speaker 4: let her go. She's like, well, is there, do you
- 44:05Speaker 4: have any other advice? I go, no, I'm going to
- 44:06Speaker 4: go watch this on TV right now. So I put
- 44:09Speaker 4: it on TV and she was, I rewatched it again
- 44:12Speaker 4: last night after we spoke. And it doesn't look as
- 44:14Speaker 4: bad in hindsight as it was in the moment, but it.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Was, Was she wearing like little low black shorts or
- 44:21Speaker 2: what was it?
- 44:21Speaker 4: It was just like a sparkly top and sparkly little shorts,
- 44:24Speaker 4: if memory serves. And then she immediately got fired for
- 44:29Speaker 4: contradicting Britney. So she went back to her big fantasy suite.
- 44:32Speaker 4: I think it was at the Rio, one of those
- 44:34Speaker 4: giant like Playboy Mansion suites.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Oh, in Vegas?
- 44:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it was in Vegas. And she ordered a pitcher
- 44:38Speaker 4: of martinis and was like drowning her sorrows and calling me.
- 44:41Speaker 4: And she's just drunk and crying and upset. And she
- 44:44Speaker 4: goes like... Wait, hold on. Someone's banging at my door.
- 44:47Speaker 4: And I go, don't answer it. And she goes, no,
- 44:48Speaker 4: they will not stop knocking. She goes, hang on. So
- 44:50Speaker 4: she walks to the front door of the suite. She
- 44:52Speaker 4: looks out. The people is Britney Spears. No entourage, no security,
- 44:56Speaker 4: just Britney in a party dress. And she opens the
- 44:59Speaker 4: door and she's like, what do you want? And she's like,
- 45:01Speaker 4: let's go out and party. Let's go to the club.
- 45:03Speaker 4: And she's like, you just fired me. She goes, let
- 45:05Speaker 4: it go. Let's just go out to the club. She's like,
- 45:07Speaker 4: I don't want to go out to the club with you.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I hate you.
- 45:08Speaker 4: You fired me. And she's like, oh, come on. Don't
- 45:11Speaker 4: be a stick in the mud. Let's go out. She's like, no,
- 45:13Speaker 4: and slammed the door in Brittany's face.
- 45:15Speaker 2: So she didn't go out.
- 45:16Speaker 4: She did not go out. And then she ran into
- 45:18Speaker 4: Brittany a few years ago. No, like two years ago.
- 45:23Speaker 4: And they were together every day, all day at Brittany's house.
- 45:27Speaker 2: And she goes, hey, Brittany.
- 45:27Speaker 4: And she goes, oh, hi. It's so nice to meet you.
- 45:30Speaker 4: What's your name? And she says it. And she goes,
- 45:33Speaker 4: it's really nice to meet you. And she's like, Brittany,
- 45:36Speaker 4: I worked with you every day for two years. She goes,
- 45:39Speaker 4: Are you sure? Because I don't think so. She's like, Brittany,
- 45:41Speaker 4: it's me. And she didn't remember. So then I called
- 45:44Speaker 4: her back about the whole free Brittany thing. When that
- 45:47Speaker 4: was going down, I go, what do you think about
- 45:49Speaker 4: the whole free Brittany thing? It sounds like she's had
- 45:50Speaker 4: a tough road. She goes, she has had a tough road.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Do not, under any circumstances, free Brittany. And I'm like,
- 45:58Speaker 4: what will she do? She goes, She could buy a
- 46:00Speaker 4: jetliner and fly it into a mountain. Do not free Britney.
- 46:03Speaker 4: Not now. Not ever. She's that person muttering things, pushing
- 46:07Speaker 4: a grocery cart down the street. She just happens to
- 46:08Speaker 4: have a lot of money. Wow. So that was a
- 46:12Speaker 4: first-hand account.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Her opinion, yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Well, you know, with the latest knife thing, Dancing with
- 46:17Speaker 2: the Knives, you saw that she.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Was doing that.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I saw it, yeah.
- 46:21Speaker 4: I thought it was just a little attention-seeking.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 46:23Speaker 2: It didn't look dangerous to me. But she does love knives.
- 46:25Speaker 2: And one thing I remember that I don't think I've
- 46:26Speaker 2: shared is I had a friend who worked with some
- 46:30Speaker 2: hotel and she was there and she took knives to
- 46:35Speaker 2: the couch and they were just like, all right, you know,
- 46:39Speaker 2: they just pay for the couch or whatever.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Oh, she destroyed them.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Yeah. She would do that allegedly at different hotels or whatnot. And,
- 46:49Speaker 2: you know, they keep it quiet because they replace it
- 46:51Speaker 2: just like any rock star that, you know, ruins a room.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:55Speaker 2: But I do think there was some, when I saw
- 46:57Speaker 2: the night, I'm like, there is a little bit of
- 46:58Speaker 2: a fascination with knives, whether they're real, fake, prop, whatever. Yeah. Yeah.
- 47:04Speaker 4: She seems like a handful, doesn't she?
- 47:06Speaker 2: Now, you are known originally, really became a star because
- 47:12Speaker 2: you would give your friends who were aspiring and practicing
- 47:18Speaker 2: sugar babies some different types of tips.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:22Speaker 2: And where have you gone with your career as being
- 47:26Speaker 2: a life coach for sugar babies?
- 47:28Speaker 4: Well, I have some recurring clients and I frequently have
- 47:32Speaker 4: new ones.
- 47:33Speaker 2: So you have real clients?
- 47:33Speaker 4: I have some, yeah. Not a ton, but, you know,
- 47:36Speaker 4: I do it. I'll do it in the afternoons for
- 47:39Speaker 4: a couple of hours once or twice a week.
- 47:41Speaker 2: On the phone?
- 47:42Speaker 4: On the phone, yeah. Occasionally on Zoom.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Just like a life coach?
- 47:45Speaker 4: Exactly a life coach, but a sex worker life coach. Okay. And.
- 47:50Speaker 2: So tell us, give us some free stuff that we
- 47:54Speaker 2: can gain from being, if somebody's listening and is aspiring
- 47:57Speaker 2: or doing one.
- 47:58Speaker 4: So the thing I care most about, obviously, is their safety. Right.
- 48:02Speaker 4: And a lot of women don't know the basic fundamentals
- 48:05Speaker 4: of keeping themselves safe. So I usually start with that
- 48:08Speaker 4: as a baseline. I'll be like, don't use any photos.
- 48:11Speaker 4: In your sugar apps that you use on your TikTok
- 48:16Speaker 4: or your Instagram or your Facebook.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good point.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Because reverse Google image search. You can find out who
- 48:21Speaker 4: someone's name is and find out what they do for
- 48:23Speaker 4: a living and really screw up their life.
- 48:25Speaker 2: So you have your life. So I'm Heather McDonald. I'm 25.
- 48:30Speaker 2: I want to be a sugar baby. So I only
- 48:33Speaker 2: have 1,000 followers between high school, college, and my job.
- 48:38Speaker 2: And here I am at the Laker game. Here I
- 48:40Speaker 2: am with my mom at Christmas. So you're saying, and
- 48:44Speaker 2: I might even have a really flattering one. Don't use that.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Never.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Do a whole different photo with a different background. everything,
- 48:53Speaker 2: and then that's my sugar baby profile.
- 48:55Speaker 4: For starters. And you never give anyone your real phone number.
- 48:57Speaker 4: You go get a Google Voice or some kind of
- 49:00Speaker 4: burner phone number that you can text and email on.
- 49:03Speaker 2: And that's important because if you want to get rid
- 49:07Speaker 2: of them, too, it'll be an easier way to block
- 49:10Speaker 2: them and get rid of them.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Yeah, but there's also reverse lookups for cell phone numbers, too.
- 49:13Speaker 4: Like I could probably take your cell phone number and
- 49:15Speaker 4: put it into Google, and there's probably a website that
- 49:19Speaker 4: could reverse engineer it and have your name and your
- 49:21Speaker 4: address so safety first and then i always i always
- 49:27Speaker 4: say like don't you know this is chess it's not
- 49:29Speaker 4: checkers don't go for the kill right out of the
- 49:31Speaker 4: gate like do not go meet someone you haven't spoken
- 49:34Speaker 4: to on the phone and that you can't Vet, don't
- 49:37Speaker 4: just go show up at a hotel room or for
- 49:39Speaker 4: a car date. Get to know them. Ask for a
- 49:42Speaker 4: copy of their ID. Ask for a link to their LinkedIn.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Ask for a business card. And some guys might tell
- 49:48Speaker 4: you to F off, but I want to keep you
- 49:51Speaker 4: alive first and foremost.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Well, if they tell you to F off, then they
- 49:55Speaker 2: weren't real. I remember when I was doing real estate-
- 49:58Speaker 2: You know, you would never just put some guy or
- 50:01Speaker 2: girl or whatever in your car. They had to come
- 50:04Speaker 2: to the office. They would leave their ID or they'd
- 50:07Speaker 2: take a photo of the ID. The receptionist would. And
- 50:11Speaker 2: then really more importantly is you got them pre-approved by
- 50:14Speaker 2: a mortgage broker before you ever showed them a piece
- 50:16Speaker 2: of property. And if they ever got weird about it, well,
- 50:19Speaker 2: then you're not really interested in the house, right? I mean,
- 50:21Speaker 2: it makes a lot of sense.
- 50:22Speaker 4: That's right. I had a client call me last night
- 50:25Speaker 4: who lives right here in LA and it was literally
- 50:27Speaker 4: the grossest thing I've ever heard about a sugar dating request. Tell.
- 50:30Speaker 4: This guy says, I want you to overeat, preferably Mexican food,
- 50:35Speaker 4: and I will pay $ 2, 000 if you come over to this,
- 50:37Speaker 4: it was a gross motel in Van Nuys and vomit
- 50:43Speaker 4: on me. And I was like, I don't like the
- 50:46Speaker 4: sound of this at all. I don't think you should go.
- 50:47Speaker 2: How much was he offering her?
- 50:49Speaker 4: 2K. So she's like, I used to be bulimic. I
- 50:52Speaker 4: could vomit really easily.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 50:55Speaker 4: So I'm like, are you going to do this? I
- 50:56Speaker 4: don't like this at all. Can't you go meet this
- 50:58Speaker 4: guy for a coffee first and just see? And she goes,
- 51:00Speaker 4: I'm just going to give it a go. I'll share
- 51:01Speaker 4: my location with you. And she went and she did it.
- 51:04Speaker 4: She stuck her finger down her throat and she projectile
- 51:06Speaker 4: vomited all over this guy and he said, thank you, mistress.
- 51:09Speaker 4: And he gave her The money in advance.
- 51:11Speaker 2: You get the money before you even walk in the room?
- 51:13Speaker 4: You always get the money. You say, the line I
- 51:15Speaker 4: tell everyone to use is, hi, it's so nice to
- 51:17Speaker 4: meet you. Do you have something for me?
- 51:20Speaker 2: Mm, classy. You know. And you say, like cash in
- 51:24Speaker 2: an envelope? Never a Zelle or a Venmo?
- 51:26Speaker 4: No, because, well, PayPals can be reversed. Zelles can't. But
- 51:30Speaker 4: I always say to ask for cash. Because you also
- 51:33Speaker 4: don't want the tax liability.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 51:36Speaker 4: Okay.
- 51:38Speaker 2: And now what else? What else do you have for
- 51:40Speaker 2: them that you've discovered? You had said on the previous
- 51:44Speaker 2: show about the kind of gifts if they want to get.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Now people have like Amazon wish gifts or go on
- 51:52Speaker 2: my sugar baby wish list so that you know that
- 51:56Speaker 2: if you want to give me a gift, you know
- 51:58Speaker 2: I want these Prada sunglasses. So when we meet for
- 52:00Speaker 2: our first date, you can hand me that first gift.
- 52:03Speaker 2: And the guy like gets off on that. He likes
- 52:05Speaker 2: doing that. And at least it's something you want. So
- 52:08Speaker 2: are you for that?
- 52:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm all about it. But I'm all about real
- 52:12Speaker 4: communication because there's a lot of guys out there that
- 52:15Speaker 4: are just– their kink is they're never going to meet you.
- 52:17Speaker 4: They're never going to give you any money and they're
- 52:19Speaker 4: just wasting your time. They're going, oh, well, you don't
- 52:22Speaker 4: do full service. What if I gave you $ 10, 000? What
- 52:24Speaker 4: if I gave you $ 20, 000? And they're like, well, if
- 52:26Speaker 4: you give me $ 20, 000, I'll have sex with you. And
- 52:29Speaker 4: then it never happens anyway. So you have to really
- 52:31Speaker 4: separate the wheat from the chaff.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Oh, so they're just wasting your time just talking to you.
- 52:35Speaker 4: It's just they're kinksing if they can manipulate girls. There's
- 52:38Speaker 4: so much of that out there.
- 52:40Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 52:40Speaker 4: Or they're like, oh, I don't use third party apps
- 52:43Speaker 4: like Venmo or Zelle or PayPal, but I can email
- 52:46Speaker 4: you a check that you can then photograph and direct deposit.
- 52:50Speaker 4: And then there's ways to scam the bank and you
- 52:52Speaker 4: end up with like banking fees. So I say, you know,
- 52:56Speaker 4: don't you can be nice, but you can be very firm.
- 52:59Speaker 4: These are my boundaries. These are my standards. I'm going
- 53:02Speaker 4: to need a two-minute FaceTime call with you. I want
- 53:05Speaker 4: to know who you are. I want to know what
- 53:06Speaker 4: you do. It's for both of our safeties. And then
- 53:09Speaker 4: a lot of them are just like, well, how much
- 53:11Speaker 4: extra would it be for no condom? And they're like,
- 53:14Speaker 4: you have to get a test within 24 hours. I
- 53:16Speaker 4: can give you the names of some places.
- 53:18Speaker 1: To go to.
- 53:18Speaker 2: A COVID test?
- 53:19Speaker 4: No, just kidding. No, you can go to the place
- 53:22Speaker 4: that all the adult performers here in the Valley go.
- 53:24Speaker 4: And within less than 12 hours, you get a PDF
- 53:27Speaker 4: in your phone. You go there, I'll give them a plug.
- 53:30Speaker 4: There's one called talent testing and there's another one called
- 53:32Speaker 4: cutting edge testing. It's where everyone in the adult business goes.
- 53:36Speaker 4: And when people in the past have asked me, they're like,
- 53:38Speaker 4: you've dated.
- 53:40Speaker 2: And so do a lot of girls do that providing
- 53:41Speaker 2: they get the test that it's worth it because the
- 53:43Speaker 2: guy really wants to experience a no condom situation?
- 53:46Speaker 4: Yeah, if she does it and they do it, they'll
- 53:49Speaker 4: do it. But they'll usually charge a premium for it.
- 53:51Speaker 2: I still would be nervous that they could see someone
- 53:54Speaker 2: in between or it might not be 100%.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:58Speaker 2: That's fair. But pretty much like anybody can kind of
- 54:00Speaker 2: do it, right? I mean, it's like there's all different types.
- 54:02Speaker 4: And it shouldn't matter. I've had women reach out to
- 54:04Speaker 4: me and they're like, I'm 28. Am I aged out?
- 54:06Speaker 4: And I'm like, you are not aged out. As Henry
- 54:09Speaker 4: Ford said, there's an ass for every seat. There's someone
- 54:12Speaker 4: for everyone. I mean, hell, I was a sugar baby
- 54:15Speaker 4: during COVID.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. You had that girlfriend, right?
- 54:18Speaker 4: Yeah. And that was like her kink was giving me
- 54:21Speaker 4: money in exchange for playing with her. But I mean-
- 54:25Speaker 4: I would have done it anyway, but that was her
- 54:27Speaker 4: kink was treating me like a prostitute.
- 54:32Speaker 2: So with these girls, are they also pursuing real love?
- 54:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I think. I know someone who did that. So
- 54:40Speaker 4: I know a girl that was like getting paid well
- 54:43Speaker 4: below what she deserved. She was meeting guys on Seeking,
- 54:46Speaker 4: but she was broke. She's meeting guys on Seeking.
- 54:47Speaker 2: But she is boning.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Yes.
- 54:49Speaker 2: She's boning.
- 54:50Speaker 4: Always boning.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:51Speaker 4: But she was like a beautiful, tall, statuesque, blonde, smart, sassy, funny.
- 54:56Speaker 4: And she was doing guys for like 400 bucks. And finally,
- 55:00Speaker 4: you know, sifted through enough chaff and finally met this
- 55:03Speaker 4: guy she really liked.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Who was a client.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Who was a client who every Friday night she would
- 55:09Speaker 4: go to his house in the hills and he'd give
- 55:11Speaker 4: her 10 grand every weekend. Sometimes she'd usually stay over,
- 55:14Speaker 4: but she really liked him. She's like, I would marry
- 55:16Speaker 4: this guy. I would have a kid with him. And
- 55:18Speaker 4: he kept saying, I want to have a kid with you.
- 55:20Speaker 4: But it kept not happening. And this guy was one
- 55:22Speaker 4: of those guys who was kind of just addicted to
- 55:24Speaker 4: having a lot of girls like this. And he'd been
- 55:26Speaker 4: burned twice and divorced. So she she's just like, I
- 55:31Speaker 4: would date him in a second. So he just kept
- 55:32Speaker 4: giving her the 10 grand a week. For years and
- 55:35Speaker 4: years and years.
- 55:36Speaker 2: So then with 10 grand a week, could she stop
- 55:38Speaker 2: doing the $ 400 deals?
- 55:39Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. She gave all them up.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:41Speaker 4: And then one day she was like, her lease expired
- 55:45Speaker 4: and she had like a cheap car. And she's like,
- 55:47Speaker 4: I'm going to go get a new lease of the
- 55:48Speaker 4: same car. He goes, well, I'll come with you. I
- 55:50Speaker 4: can hopefully, you know, I can help you negotiate. So
- 55:54Speaker 4: they get to the dealership and he's like, why don't
- 55:55Speaker 4: you get the convertible? She's like, I can't afford the convertible.
- 55:57Speaker 4: I just want the base model. He's like, why don't
- 55:59Speaker 4: you get the sports package? And she's like, I'm not,
- 56:01Speaker 4: I'm just getting the same car, same color that I had.
- 56:04Speaker 4: And he goes, just wait right here. And he goes,
- 56:06Speaker 4: you come with me to the salesman. And he walked
- 56:08Speaker 4: away with the salesman, gave him his black card, got
- 56:11Speaker 4: her a loaded convertible with everything on it. And he's like, yeah, yeah,
- 56:15Speaker 4: put it in her name and just bought her a
- 56:17Speaker 4: car on the spot. So they're out there.
- 56:19Speaker 2: But she didn't marry him.
- 56:21Speaker 4: No, she would have.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Well, is she still seeing him?
- 56:24Speaker 4: No, because she moved to a different country. But when
- 56:26Speaker 4: she comes back and visits. they don't even necessarily hook up.
- 56:30Speaker 4: He still gives her the money. He just loves her.
- 56:31Speaker 4: He calls her salt of the earth and he just
- 56:33Speaker 4: gives her money every time he sees her. And he's
- 56:35Speaker 4: one of those guys that's so rich that like 10
- 56:38Speaker 4: grand to him is like me giving you a candy bar.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Right. Okay. So I have a question. Has anybody ever
- 56:44Speaker 2: like been seeing a sugar daddy or whatever? And then they,
- 56:48Speaker 2: that guy is getting married. I know a lot of
- 56:51Speaker 2: them are married, but the guy's actually like pursuing someone
- 56:54Speaker 2: else and keeping the girl on the side and And
- 56:58Speaker 2: they're at that moment where they're like, do I tell,
- 57:01Speaker 2: like it's one thing to be seeing a guy who
- 57:03Speaker 2: has a wife, okay, I get that, they're miserable, who cares, dah, dah, dah,
- 57:07Speaker 2: I have nothing to do with it, he pursued me.
- 57:09Speaker 2: But I think that would be a weird position for
- 57:11Speaker 2: a sugar baby to be in, like let's say you're
- 57:12Speaker 2: seeing this guy, like let's say this situation with this guy.
- 57:15Speaker 2: And she's like, oh my God, he's nice and he's great.
- 57:18Speaker 2: And then somehow through Instagram or through a friend or
- 57:20Speaker 2: maybe she's walking down the street, she sees him and
- 57:22Speaker 2: he's engaged and this girl seems like a really great girl.
- 57:25Speaker 2: She's smart. She thinks she's marrying the greatest guy. Like,
- 57:30Speaker 2: this could be like a juicy movie if I was
- 57:32Speaker 2: ever inclined to write something. And like, what do you do?
- 57:35Speaker 2: Do you tell, like girl to girl, do you tell
- 57:37Speaker 2: the girl this is what you're getting into? Does a
- 57:43Speaker 2: sugar baby tell the fiancee?
- 57:45Speaker 4: No, no. As Cary Grant once said, you don't pay
- 57:49Speaker 4: prostitutes to come over. You pay them to leave. You're
- 57:52Speaker 4: paying for their discretion. I think that would be a
- 57:55Speaker 4: terrible thing to do. You never blast someone.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Well, you know, you're not supposed to call them prostitutes
- 58:00Speaker 2: anymore or sex workers, sex workers. But do you think
- 58:04Speaker 2: and I feel like women that do this are OK
- 58:07Speaker 2: saying I'm a sex worker. I think they prefer saying
- 58:09Speaker 2: sugar baby. But do you think they really do perceive
- 58:12Speaker 2: themselves as that? I call them hooker lights. I thought
- 58:15Speaker 2: that was a fun way to say it because I
- 58:18Speaker 2: didn't think it was– I thought there was kind of
- 58:20Speaker 2: more to it than just the exchange of sex.
- 58:23Speaker 4: It is more complex because it's rare, but I have
- 58:26Speaker 4: known girls who get money from guys and don't do
- 58:30Speaker 4: anything sexually with them. Like they really are– escorts of
- 58:34Speaker 4: the traditional meaning like they go with them to events
- 58:37Speaker 4: and they hang out and maybe they have hooked up
- 58:39Speaker 4: once or twice but there are some types of guys
- 58:42Speaker 4: that just like taking care of girls and I've had
- 58:45Speaker 4: and they.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Just want that companion that's going to show up be
- 58:47Speaker 2: a delight not fight with them not ask about anything
- 58:50Speaker 2: be pretty yeah and.
- 58:53Speaker 4: I can't remember if we've talked about this or not
- 58:56Speaker 4: but I know there's one girl from Australia who is
- 58:59Speaker 4: a face meltingly wealthy sex worker She owns four houses,
- 59:05Speaker 4: she's flown by guys, only private, all over the world.
- 59:08Speaker 4: She's a master of the universe. She's probably 29 by now,
- 59:12Speaker 4: but been doing it since her early 20s. And I
- 59:14Speaker 4: said to her, I said, what do you think distinguishes
- 59:16Speaker 4: you from everyone else? Why is it that you are
- 59:19Speaker 4: so successful? Because you're pretty, but you're not orders of
- 59:24Speaker 4: magnitude prettier than anyone else in this business. And she said,
- 59:27Speaker 4: the difference between me and everybody else is I can
- 59:29Speaker 4: walk into a room and know what a guy needs.
- 59:32Speaker 4: And it's seldom sex. And I said, give me an example.
- 59:35Speaker 4: She goes, I walked into this guy's big house in
- 59:37Speaker 4: Bel Air and it was a disaster. There were dirty
- 59:40Speaker 4: dishes piled up everywhere. There were 20 pairs of shoes
- 59:43Speaker 4: by the door. It was just a disaster area. And
- 59:45Speaker 4: I could tell by his body language, he was sad
- 59:48Speaker 4: and slouching and depressed. And she was like, how are you?
- 59:51Speaker 4: And he's like, I'm okay. And I realized that this
- 59:53Speaker 4: guy just needed peace. So I started to talk to him.
- 59:58Speaker 4: I cleaned his entire kitchen. I mopped his floors. I
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: took all his shoes by the front door. I put
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: them in the closet. I cleaned his whole house for
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: three hours and then sat next to him. And he says,
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: you know, I feel so good when you're around. And
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: he gave her $ 30, 000. She never even took her shoes off.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Yeah, interesting.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: And that's the thing about men that people don't realize.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: You know, teenagers, guys in their 20s, yeah, they want
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: to get off. They want orgasms. But men, sometimes men
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: just want to be heard.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: So interesting. It really is.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: I sometimes think that we forget. I think that's also
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: why men end up with the pretty young girl that's
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: 30 years younger than them too. And they don't really
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: think about the big picture of, yeah, right now she's
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: super into you and she's hanging on your every word
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: and you guys can have fun and you're 55 and
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: she's 25 and it's all going to be fine. But
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: when you're, you know, 65, or 70, you're not going
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: to want to be traipsing around Europe and going to
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: an event every night. But she'll only be 40 and
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: she will. And what are the chances of her wanting
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: to stay with you after that?
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: None. I've talked to men and women about this whole
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: thing and it's very tricky. But having been someone who's had,
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: I had a long-term relationship for five and a half
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: years with someone half my age. And I have to
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: say that there were great things about it. The great
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: things about it obviously from them just looking photoshopped in
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: real life, is they kept me relevant. They kept me current.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: They kept me knowing what the new music was, what
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: the TV is, what the vernacular, what the slogans and
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: the sayings are. And I would teach them about music
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: and culture and movies, and they would teach me about
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: things they knew, and we worked really well together. Now,
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: of course, long term, this probably went on two and
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: a half years longer than it would have. But we
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: were best of friends and she kept me young and
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: I made her wiser and it ran its course. But
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: I'd always say to the same thing. I was like,
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: you don't want to be with me. I'm going to
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: be a geriatric and you're going to be my age now.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: This is a terrible idea long term.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: And yeah.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: And, you know, I'm friends with every ex I've ever had.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: I mean, like talk on the phone friends except one.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: But that one. But but. You know, there is something
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: to be said for it. And it's like, was it
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: a Shakespeare line? Youth is beauty. Beauty is youth. And,
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: you know, I think if you looked at it from
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: an anthropological level, I think everyone's designed to look their
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: most beautiful by the universe because that's when they're most fertile,
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: therefore the most attractive. So it's like vampires drinking the
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: blood of virgins. You know, everyone's in pursuit of youth.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: So it's tricky. And younger women, a lot of younger
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: women don't want to date men their own age. Right.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Because they're young and stupid. You know, my grandmother used
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: to say, no man worth a damn before 40.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: And I think, right. And I know women, you know,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: can date younger guys now, too. And I think that
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: sometimes can be a nice match. Like or share or
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: just like even like a woman, you know, like, oh,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: I'm in my early 50s. I'm dating a 38 year old.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: You know, he doesn't want to have kids. We get along.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: We're great. Again, I don't know where that will be
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: when she's 60 and he's still in his 40s. Maybe
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: it will last. Maybe it won't. But she's– so what?
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: He can fix a few things around the house. He
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: bones me good. I'm active.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: It can work. Maybe she can go get a side piece.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Maybe we should stop being such Puritans that founded this country.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: Maybe we could live more like French and Italians where
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: everybody has a side piece. Everybody takes the summers off.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: No one ever gets divorced. No one ever humiliates their partner,
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: but every Italian woman, every Italian man, they're all Catholic, God-fearing,
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: but they all got a side piece, but nobody makes
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: a big fuss out of it. You know, maybe everyone
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: should just live like a Frenchman. Have a wife, have
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: a lover.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, whatever works for people. But, you know,
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: I was at Trader Joe's yesterday. And there's this young,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: really cute kid that works there. He's maybe 22. And,
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: I mean, he acts like Keanu Reeves. in the original
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Parenthood movie.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Do you remember that?
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Where he was like, I didn't get 16,000 on my SAT. Okay, like,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: but he's cute and he, you know, and I've seen
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: him there. So like, looking at the fruit and he's
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: just telling this story about how he, whatever, fell off
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: his bike to this other guy working.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: At Trader Joe's.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: And I mean, he's just like, and I'm like, I go,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: what if roles are reversed and me as a woman,
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: let's say I was whatever, I'm a successful woman, but
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: I have a husband, have a few dollars. But I
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: felt like a man and I was like, this is
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: gonna be my sugar baby over here. This dumb kid,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: he's gonna be so excited when I buy him that
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: electric bike, whatever, motorbike, whatever he's doing, And he's adorable
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: and he's sweet. But I've witnessed him a few times.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: And he is the epitome of a really pretty girl
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: that's dumb. But he's a dude.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a hot little thing.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: He's a hot, like, cute kid.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: Who could probably cut diamonds with his penis. Yeah.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: And, like, doesn't know he's hot also. and just like
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: really happy to be with, you know, who knows what
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: he's doing. And, um, but I just thought like that
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: would never happen because that is something that a woman
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: my age doesn't want. We don't want another son to raise.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: We don't want another.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Sometimes they do though.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Sometimes they do, but I don't think it's very often.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: I think they would rather have the 38 year old guy.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: I'm saying like, if you're going to go a little younger,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: you don't want Like a 53-year-old guy is totally going
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: to want that 21, 22-year-old girl sometimes to play around with.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: I don't want it anymore. I want nothing to do
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: with it anymore. But I've also seen the mountaintop. I've
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: eaten the whole buffet. I know how the day ends.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: But I'm saying I don't think there's a lot of
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: women my age that if they went for somebody younger
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: that they would want someone that young.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Like that's too much. That's too much teaching, too much raising,
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: too much– no.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but maybe– what if it's just straight up like
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: you come over– Less talky, more licky. Yeah.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: But I also think a guy, like, isn't... I.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: Mean, doesn't Madonna date guys in their 20s?
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I feel like, yes. But I also feel like girls
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: know of the sugar baby culture. It's been around forever.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: They could talk to other people. They could see it. Like,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: I don't think there's a ton... I mean, this would
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: make kind of a juicy movie. If there was, like,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: a bunch of guys that are like, listen, there is
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: this movement going. I'm going to teach you how to
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: do it. When you're at Trader Joe's, like this is
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: what you say. You put a little feeler out. Oh,
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: you married happily? Whatever. You know, I work Tuesdays. I
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: don't know. And they're like– Throw a line in the water. Yeah,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: and then they kind of know the routine or whatever.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: But I don't– I think these– a young, hot, innocent
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: guy like that and innocent because he's– He wouldn't even
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: be thinking about it. He'd be so like, what? You're
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: my mom's age. I just don't think they're thinking the.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Way- I don't know. When I was young, I was
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: really into cougars.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Maybe there is more of a market for it, but
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I feel like girls are all.
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Like- I always flirted with old ladies like the hairdresser.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: I'd be like, you married? Yeah. You guys still get together?
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: You know, I always try. I used to flirt with
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: my doctors. Yeah.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Your female doctors?
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Or male doctors. No, no. It doesn't matter. Whatever you want.
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: No, I know you're without judgment, but no female doctors.
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: I'd be like, wow, you went to jail. I said
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: to one, I was like, oh, you went to Yale.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: You're pretty eligible.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: I was like, do a lot of guys flirt with you?
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: And I just tried to, you know, they just cut
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: it off. They're like, I'm not talking about anything personal
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: with you.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Let's tell one last story before we get into your
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: book one more time. Tell me about one of the
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: worst breakup stories you've ever heard.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: Oh, my God. I can think of two off the
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: top of my head. So one was a friend of
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: mine was Been in a relationship with a guy for
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: nearly 15 years. They never got married, but they lived together.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: A girl.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: Yeah, a girl. A big agent. Lived with her boyfriend.
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: Was a businessman on the beach in Santa Monica. Great life.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: One morning, she gets up at like 3 o'clock in
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: the morning to pee or whatever, and he's not in bed.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: So she gets up, and she looks around the house,
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: and she can't find him. And then she looks at
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: her phone to see if there was a text or something,
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: and she has an Apple Wallet notification saying $ 1, 500. was
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: charged on your American Express.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: On hers?
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: On hers.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: So was she the breadwinner of the couplehood?
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: No, they both made a lot of money.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: And this was the very confusing part. It's Shutters on
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: the Beach, which is a luxury beach hotel in Santa Monica.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: So she's like, what the actual F? So she gets
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: in her car, doesn't text him, gets in her car,
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: drives right to Shutters on the Beach, and she walks
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: up to the front desk and she says, hi, my
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: name is X, Y, and Z. Here's my id i
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: left i locked my card in the room can i
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: get another key card and they're like yes ma'am and
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: they give her the card and she walks in and
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: her boyfriend of 15 years is getting railed by an
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: asian transgender lady pounded pounded and.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: What did she say was it just was she like
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: i can't even believe my eyes.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: She flipped she was like what the f is going
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: on here She's like, I cannot believe you. I cannot
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: believe you're cheating on me.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: Now, when she says, and you might not know the story,
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: when she sees it and it's mid-sex and she's like,
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: what the hell? Does the person then exit the boyfriend?
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Uh-uh.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: They're just sitting there. And the boyfriend wasn't even apologetic
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: or horrified. And he goes, what? And she goes, I
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: cannot believe you. I can't believe you're having sex with
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: an Asian transgender woman. On my American Express card. You
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: know what his response was? He goes, you were sleeping.
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: You were sleeping.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: And then does she look back and be like, well,
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: obviously he liked this kind of sex and he liked
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: this kind of type of person. What the hell was
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: he doing with me?
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: She was completely blindsided. She thought he was a flaming heterosexual.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: She had no idea.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: And then how did they end it? Was she just like,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: get out tomorrow?
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: She was like, get out of my effing house. And
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: they've never spoken since.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Did they ever have any mutual... I always think, what
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: do you tell your mutual friends when you've been together
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: that long?
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: I don't know what she told everyone else.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, like, what happened? You know, like, oh, okay. Well,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: you know, do we make an agreement? Do we keep
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: a secret like that? Maybe, you know, you don't want
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: it out there. I don't know.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: What do you do when it's something that, like, surprising? Yeah.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: It's out there. So... I posted it. I made a
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: tech talk about it.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: So the next day, a girl I hadn't heard from
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: in 10 years calls me and she goes, that's nothing.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: That is nothing. My story is a thousand times worse
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: than that one. And I was like, what's your story?
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: So this was a beautiful girl. She looked like Cindy Crawford,
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: like just a beautiful brunette. And she couldn't cut it
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: in modeling and acting. She just couldn't cut it and
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: left and moved to Arizona, America's cat box. And sorry,
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: Arizona entire family there.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: Um, My son goes to school there.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Love it.
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: So she moves to Arizona and then she meets a
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: handsome guy who's successful. He had tribal tattoos. So that
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: was like, I was just like, I don't know. He's
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: got tribal tattoos. And she was just like, don't be
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: a hater.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: It's Arizona.
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: I know. It's Arizona. It's like they drive yellow Hummers
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: there and stuff. So she meets this guy, falls in
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: love with him, gets married. They're living in a big house.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: In Arizona.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: In Arizona. And very happy. Now, she had told me
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: way back when, when I met her, because I'm adopted,
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: she had these a lot of really unresolved feelings about
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: she had gotten pregnant at 15 or 16 and had
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: no ability to raise a child. And she gave this
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: child up for adoption. So now that she had a
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: stable home life, she wanted to reach out and see
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: if she could connect with her daughter that she gave
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: birth to. And she does, who turns out to also
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: live in Arizona and The daughter is like a 22-year-old
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: spitting image of this girl when she was young. Gorgeous. Perfect.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: And they get together and they start building a relationship. Well,
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: a few months in, her husband and the daughter start
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: hooking up and they have run off together and they
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: are engaged and they are doing the closest thing you
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: can do to pornography on Instagram that they're posting. They're
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: just like tongues out, tonguing each other and like groping
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: and just like filthy things. nasty pictures. And she's right.
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: There's nothing worse I can think of than this. Like,
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: my heart breaks for her.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: The only thing I could think of worse would be
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: if it was a daughter you raised.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, fair.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: But it is awful and heartbreaking because now she doesn't
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: have the daughter that she reconnected with or the husband
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: or the yellow Hummer.
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: And people's responses to it were weird. Like, some of
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: the people on.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: When you told the story?
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: On TikTok.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, what were they saying?
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: We're just like, oh, well, she's like, well, the bitch
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: deserves it for abandoning her kid. And I'm like, listen,
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: I'm an adoptee. Adoption is not abandonment. Leaving someone on
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: a street corner is abandonment. She tried to give this
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: child a better life. And she was just like, well,
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: she nailed it. She got what she deserves. And a
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: lot of people were on our side.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but I mean, you kind of wonder... There
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: must have been some unresolved something with the daughter that
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: she gave up and not out of her fault, but whatever.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Maybe she didn't have a good childhood herself. Yeah, maybe
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: she didn't have a good childhood with the adoptive parents,
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: you know?
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: Probably.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: Did you ever find your birth parents?
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: I did, yeah.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: How did that go?
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: Oh my God, this is bananas. So when I was adopted,
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: they were very secret, very closed adoptions. And then at
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: a certain point in like the late 80s, early 90s,
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: they opened up the adoptions. So I was in Cancun, Mexico,
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: and my suitcase got stolen. And in my suitcase was
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: my passport and my original birth certificate. So I had nothing.
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: And back then, you could go to Mexico or Canada
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: with a driver's license. It wasn't a big deal. So
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: I was able to get home. So I had to
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: get a new birth certificate issued to me. So I
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: had to call the Department of Vital Statistics. And they said, oh,
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: you were in a closed adoption. You have to apply
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: for this thing called a gold certificate. So I applied
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: for this gold certificate. And they reissued me a birth certificate. Now,
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: the birth certificate had one more line of information than
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: my old censored one. And it was the name of
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: a law firm. And I'm like, there's no way this
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: law firm is going to still be around from that
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: long ago. But I'll give it a try. So I'm
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: at my office in Chicago. This was just before I
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: moved here. And I call. And this guy answers the phone.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: He says, hello. And I said, hi. I think I
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: dialed the wrong number. I was trying to reach a
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: law firm. He goes, there's a law firm. My secretary
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: went home for the day because it was like 6 p.m.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: And I go, this is going to sound weird, but
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: I was adopted from your agency back in the 60s.
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: And he goes, oh, my God, are you Judge Garber's nephew?
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: And I go, yes. How did you know that? He goes,
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: I went to law school with him at John Marshall,
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: and yours is the only, like, adoption case we've ever done.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: We were law students together, and this is my dad's
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: law firm. And I'm like, this is bananas. So he goes, anyway,
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: here's the adoption agency. Reach out. He goes, you probably
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: won't have any luck, but give it a go. So
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: I meet this really interesting woman whose entire job is
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: putting parents and adoptees back together. And she said, don't
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: get your hopes up. The trail is usually cold. The
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: only way I will be able to find either of
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: your birth parents is if they consented to it. And
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: she goes, give me a few weeks. I'm going to
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: have to go through microfiche. And, you know, it's basically
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: our warehouse looks like the last scene in Raiders of
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: the Lost Ark. So like three weeks, a month go by.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: And she goes, this is bananas. She goes, I have
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: all these letters to you, like birthday cards. And Hanukkah
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: cards and a bar mitzvah card. And she was just like,
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: you know, happy 13th birthday. This is where I'm living now.
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: Should you ever reach out? Happy 18th birthday. Happy 16th birthday.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: And she'd written me all these cards. And she said, yeah.
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: So she said that if you can give her your
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: phone number, she'll call you. And I'm like, I'm not
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: giving her my phone number. Give me her phone number.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: And she goes, she doesn't want to give you her
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: phone number either. I go, well, I guess it's a
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: Mexican standoff. So we went back and forth for a
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: little bit and we negotiated that I would call from
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: my office and that she would go to the adoption
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: agency and we would chat about it there. So we
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: talked on the phone and she seemed out there, out there.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: And I was literally moving to L.A.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Now, did you tell your– Your parents that raised you
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: that you were seeing your birth mom?
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: No. Okay. Because I didn't want to hurt their feelings. Yeah.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: It was something I was like, I'm going through this.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: It's stressful enough.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: But I did tell my sister who's like Stalin with
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: too much Botox and she leaked it immediately and they
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: found out.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Was she adopted as well?
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: So continue. So anyway, so I moved to LA and
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: then we were in touch. We talked on the phone
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: a few times. And then I decided I was ready
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: and I was going to come meet her. So it's
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: a freezing, snowing, cold night and I fly back to
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: LA and I wanted to look good for her and
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: I put like a suit, a tie on and like
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: a long.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: So you're meeting her in Chicago or in LA?
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: No, she lives in Chicago. So I flew home to
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: meet her and I'm driving in this snowstorm to this
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: terrible neighborhood and I was working for Nicolas Cage at
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: the time and Nick calls me and he's like, what's
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: going on? And I was, you're never short. When you
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: work for a guy like that, you're never short with them.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: I'm like, Nick, is it an emergency? Because I'm going
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: through something really heavy. And there was just silence on
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: the other end of the phone. I'm like, oh, I
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: totally screwed up. And I go, I'm sorry, Nick. What
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: do you need? He goes, what's going on? Maybe I
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: can help you. And I said, I'm meeting the woman
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: who gave birth to me for the first time, and
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: I think I'm having a panic attack. I've never had
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: a panic attack. I think I'm having a panic attack, Nick.
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: And he goes, I can help you with this. I
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: have a gift for dealing with stressful situations. And I'm like,
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: you're an effing actor. How are you going to help me?
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: And I go, all right, Nick, I'm all ears. Let's
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: hear it. And he goes, I want you to picture
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: yourself sitting in a red velvet theater seat in a
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: movie theater watching a black comedy unfold before your eyes.
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: I don't want you to dissociate, but I want you
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: to be an observer. Just watch it unfold. And it's
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: going to be dark and fucked up and funny. Just
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: watch it. And I go, Nick Cage, you're a different
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: breed of cat.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, just watch your story.
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: I go, you're an effing genius. I'm totally calm right now.
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: I said, I'm going in. And he goes, all right,
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: call me and let me know how it goes. And
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: I said, I probably won't. But thank you very much
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: for this. And I went and I met her. And
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: I took her out to dinner. And she told me
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: all about my birth father. And she'd met this guy.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: She didn't know he was married. He got her pregnant.
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: It turns out he had a couple of kids and
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: one on the way. And so that happened. So that
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: was like kind of part one of that. But I
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: was always like, this crazy redheaded lady can't be all
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: I am. I know I'm redheaded. I know I'm crazy.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: But this can't be all there is. I have to
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: find my father. And now I know his name. So
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: every few years, I tried hiring different private investigators to
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: try to find him. And I always came up empty handed.
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: It was just like another $ 1, 500, another $ 2, 000 down the drain.
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: And I could not find him. And then one day,
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: I get a call from my friend Becca. And she said,
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: did you see page six this morning? I said, you
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: know me. I don't read celebrity trash. I don't care.
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: And she goes, you should look at it today. You're
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: in it. And I go, why would I be in
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: page six? She goes, just go look at it. So
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: I go look at it and it says, Scott Nathan
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: sues Lindsay Lohan for not being paid on a job,
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: which happened. Uh, and, uh, and then the next column over,
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: it said billionaire so-and-so gets sued for sexual harassment by,
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: by this company CEO in this lady's name. And, uh,
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh, no way. I know both of them.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: I know the billionaire and I know the woman. So
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: seconds later, I get a Facebook request from this woman.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: Carissa Schumacher is her name. And Carissa Schumacher is like
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: a geneticist, PhD, went to Brown University, a science girl,
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: beautiful blonde girl, but a science girl. And I said,
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: how did your case end up resolving? And she said,
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: all I'm legally allowed to say is it was resolved
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: amicably and I'm pleased with the decision. I said, no way.
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: That's all I'm legally allowed to say. With your Lindsay
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: Lohan thing. With my Lindsay Lohan thing, and I did
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: get paid.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: Thanks, Lindsay.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: I remember that, yeah.
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: It wasn't Lindsay's fault. It was her partner's fault.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: I remember this, yeah.
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: So that all worked out. So I said, what are
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: you doing now? Are you working for another genetics company?
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: She's like, no, no, I gave up science. And I'm like,
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: you're a PhD. What do you mean you gave up science?
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: She goes, I'm a mirror medium and a psychic now.
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: And I believe in psychics and mediums, but that's a
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: big leap to go from an Ivy League doctorate to
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: being a psychic. So she goes, I have an idea.
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: And I'm like, she's going to ask me for money.
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: I can feel it. She goes, I'm not going to
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: ask you for money.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Oh, she is psychic.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: Yeah. So she goes, I'll make you a deal. Let
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: me do a reading for you. And my readings are
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: very expensive. And I said, what's the deal? She goes,
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: let me do a reading for you. And if you
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: love it, and I mean really love it, shoot my
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: portrait sometime. And if you think it was bullshit, you
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: don't owe me anything. I was like, I'll do that.
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: She goes, all right, call me Thursday afternoon. So I said, what,
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: so you can LexisNexis me and Google me? Let's do
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: it right now. And she goes, listen, motherfucker, I will
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: tell you things that you cannot find on LexisNexis or Google.
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: So I said, all right. So I knew her from, like,
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: clubs and being with that billionaire guy. She didn't know
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: anything about me. She didn't know I was adopted. And
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: none of that is out there. I mean, it's now.
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: So we get on the phone, and she said, you're
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: trying to find your birth father. And I go, yeah.
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: She goes, you know, I was channeling your energy, and
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: he came to me. She goes, you know, he has
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: a New York accent. I said, I know he's from Brooklyn.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: And she goes, he has a very dirty mouth. And
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: I said, well, that makes sense. And she goes, do
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: you want me to paraphrase what he's saying to you?
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: Do you want me to tell you exactly?
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: So is he dead or alive?
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: He was dead for two years.
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: So she says, do you want me to paraphrase? I said,
- 1:21:54Speaker 4: paraphrase nothing. Tell me exactly what he wants to say
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: to me.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: And he goes, kid, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you.
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: I couldn't keep my dick in my pants. I fucked
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: everything that moved. I want you to go meet your sisters.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: And I'm like, I have sisters? So he goes, yeah,
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: I go ask him how to find my sisters. I
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: know this sounds insane, but it's true. So he goes,
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: I'm going to call my fourth wife. This is her name.
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: She lives on Spruce Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. So I
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: call back the last detective from a few days earlier.
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: And he's like, listen, I'm sorry I'm taking your money,
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: but you gave me bad info. That guy does not exist.
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: I said, you're doing one more search for me. I'm
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: not paying you any more money. He goes, what is it?
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: And I said, look for this lady's name on Spruce
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: Street in Philadelphia. The guy calls me back two minutes later.
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: He goes, this is unbelievable. I found him. But that's
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: not his name. He had a different name. It was
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: an anglicized version because Jews changed their names back in
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: the 50s and 60s. So he goes, anyway, here's her
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: phone number. So I'm like, I better keep going or
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: I'm going to chicken out. So I call his fourth wife.
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: And I said, hi, I'm looking for, and I say
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: his name because I didn't even know if any of
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: this was real. And she says, what are you, a
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: bill collector? I said, I am not a bill collector.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: She goes, you better tell me who this is or
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: I'm hanging up. And I said, I don't even know
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: how to say this. I'm just going to say it.
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: I'm his son. And she goes, oh, Jesus Christ, another one?
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: And I go, what do you mean another one? She goes,
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: you know the girls just met for the first time
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: at his funeral, right? I said, I know nothing. I
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: know nothing. Tell me everything. So she tells me this
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: crazy story about they met at his funeral. And I said,
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: I would love to get in touch with these women.
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: Can you put me in touch with them? And she goes, no.
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: I said, did you say no? Why no? And she goes,
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: they've been through enough. They don't need to meet you.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: And I said, yeah, but this is my life. And
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: she says, I don't give a shit. So I know
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: like old Jewish ladies, you know, they do like to dish.
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: They sometimes just need a little foreplay. And I said, well,
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: just tell me what you're comfortable with. She goes, don't
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: try to trick me. I said, I'm not going to
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: try to trick you. Let me tell you a little
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: bit about me. I'm skinny. I have long, curly red
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: hair and blue-green eyes and pale skin. Do they look
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: like me? She goes, no. I said, I'm an artist.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: Are either of them creative? She goes, not really. And
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: I said, well, just tell me what you're comfortable telling me.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: So she goes, well, one of them, and she tells
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: me her name. She goes, she's a realtor in Los Angeles.
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: She grew up at Melrose and La Brea. Do you
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: know where that is? And I said, yeah, I do.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: And she goes, and the other one, she lives in
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: Long Island and she has hair salons and spas in
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: Long Island and Manhattan. And I'm like quietly typing and
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: I find the realtor two seconds flat. And then I'm
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: quietly typing in Facebook and I find the New York
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: one in two seconds flat. Now it gets really crazy.
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: So I go, thank you so much. And she goes,
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: I'll send you some pictures. so the first picture she
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: sends is like him in the backyard at the Playboy
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: Mansion with Peter Lawford and he's like a short blonde
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: fat Jew but with my exact face and I was
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: like this is unbelievable and it's like the Playboy Mansion
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: so I'm like I see where that comes from oh
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: my gosh I know this sounds completely bananas so I'm
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: like it's getting late in New York I'm going to
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: call the New York one first so I call the
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: New York one and I write her on Facebook and
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: she's like this is unbelievable he told us about you
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: on his deathbed He didn't know what your name was.
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: He didn't know how to reach you. I'm going to
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: be in LA on Thursday. And I know there's something
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: about Thursdays. Everything's a Thursday in this story. She goes,
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: do you want to have dinner? I said, I would
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: love to have dinner with you. Where are you staying?
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: And she said, Santa Monica. And I said, okay, what hotel?
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: I'll pick you up. She goes, I'm not staying at
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: a hotel. I'm staying at my childhood best friend's house.
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: I said, cool. Give me the address. She gives me
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: the address. And I go, I know that address. Who's
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: your childhood best friend? She goes, you don't know her.
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: I said, she goes, she's much older than you. I said,
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: is her name Joyce? She goes, yeah, how the hell
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: do you know Joyce? I said, she's my ex-girlfriend's stepmother.
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: She goes, that's impossible. She only has one stepdaughter and
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: she's like half your age. And I'm like, and she goes,
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: oh my God, you really are your father's son, aren't you?
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: And I go, I might be. So then I call
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: my ex and I go, hey, do you know Joyce?
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: And she goes, yeah, of course I know her. She's
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: my mother's best friend. She was in the room when
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: I was born. And I go, buckle up, sis. That
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: is my flesh and blood half sister. And she goes,
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: you know, I can kind of see that in the eyes.
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: And I'm like, Did you hear what I just said
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: to you? She is my sister. She goes, yeah, that
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: is crazy. So I end up going to picking her
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: up there and seeing my ex and my ex's parents
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: and having a little visit with them. And then I
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: take her to Shay J for dinner on Ocean Avenue
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: in Santa Monica. And we talked for three hours and
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: it was amazing. And she's really cool. And she has
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: a daughter that looks like me crossed with a Kardashian.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: It's like my face, but with like the flat, like
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: with the, you know, the contours and the black hair.
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: And she's really sweet. And then, and then the next
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: night was Friday night. So we were going to meet
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: the other one. She's like, I'm warning you about this
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: LA one. And I'm like, what about her? She's like,
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: she's very pious. She's very Orthodox Jewish. And she's very uptight.
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: So I'm like, I can handle dinner with anybody. It'll
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: be fine.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: Because they were not raised together either.
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: Not at all. So we get to this house in
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: Cheviot Hills over by Fox Studios. It's a nice, you know, whatever,
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: four-bedroom house. And I meet her husband, who's a nice guy,
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: but he's got the beard and the payas and the
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: black suit. And they're like Orthodox Jews. Right. And, like,
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: I was bar mitzvahed, but we were, like, bacon-eating Jews.
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: We were in it for the corned beef sandwiches and
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: the Woody Allen movies. Like, we were never that observant.
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: So we walk in, and I walk in, and she, like,
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: comes kind of from a place of aggression from the
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: moment I walk in. And she goes, Scott, where's all
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: your professional photography equipment? And I go, I didn't realize.
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: I was a wise ass. So I go, I didn't
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: realize I was working tonight. And she says, well, one
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: would think if you're meeting your sisters, you'd want to
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: take pictures. And I literally just went like this.
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: With your phone? Yeah.
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: And she goes, well, if that's good enough for you,
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: I go, it's totally good enough for me. So now
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: I feel, like, uncomfortable. And she's got two little kids,
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: and they've got, like, the no makeup and the glasses
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: and the Orthodox dresses, and I kind of feel bad
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: for them. And so I'm not really much of a drinker,
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: but there's that crappy Concord grape, Manischewitz wine being passed around.
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: I'm like, I better have a couple of these and
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: take the edge off. Now I have to pee. So
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: I'm like, restroom? And she goes, yeah, down there at
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: the end of the hall. So I go down to
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: the end of the hall and I walk in and
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: I turn the light on and I'm peeing and I
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: hear blood-curdling screams coming from the other room. And all
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: I could think of is I got my privates in
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: my hand and I'm peeing and I'm like thinking, how rude.
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: I can't believe she's yelling at her kids or her
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: husband when there's company over. How rude. And I zip
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: up my pants and I wash my hands and I
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: go back to the table and she's just giving me
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: a death stare and she's like, and I go, problem?
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: She goes, why'd you turn the fucking lights on? And
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: I go, all right, it's Shabbat. Sorry about that. And
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: she goes, I just don't know how you could be
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: so fucking stupid. And I said, you listen to me.
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: I'm a guest in your house. You can't talk to
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: me like that. She goes, I just don't understand. You're Jewish.
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: How could you be this dumb? And I'm like, I'm
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: I'm Jewish. I eat oysters. I eat lobsters. I hunt
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: and eat wild pigs. I'm not like you. So we're
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: not off to a great start. So I said, were
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: you raised Orthodox? And she said, no. And I said,
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: how did you get here? And she said, I just
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: wanted to meet a man who was nothing like our
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: piece of shit father. And I go, you're 56 years old.
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: Are you still on that? You're still mad about that?
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: She goes, yeah, I'm still mad about it. I said,
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: let it go. Let it go. It's over. The guy's dead.
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: Let it go. She goes, don't you tell me what
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: to let it go. So anyway, so I was just like,
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: I don't think this is going to be a fit
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: long term. So like 10 days later. She sends me
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: a message on Facebook and she says, I find your
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: sense of humor deeply, deeply offensive. Would you mind if
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: I unfriended you? And I said, not at all.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: And how is that?
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: So do you keep in touch with the Florida one?
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: New York one.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: New York one.
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I do. Awesome.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: I always see them when I'm in New York. I
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: love that. And my little niece, you know, we're in touch.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: But do you keep in touch with the mom?
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: Yeah, the mom and her husband.
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: Your mom?
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: Oh, my mom, no.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: That was just the one meeting that you were good.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: No, that was, yeah.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I hear.
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: I had my closure.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: It's like I hear that sometimes it doesn't continue and
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: sometimes it does with siblings. And, you know, it's very interesting. Well,
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: let me just, let's get into your book one more time.
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: So I just want to say you have some really
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: great quotes from some people that you've worked with that
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: are friends. Zoe Dashanel writes, Scott, Nathan's life reads like
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: an east of Doheny's curb, your enthusiasm. I love that.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: I'm not sure how he made so many bad decisions.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: but I'm glad he did so we can all be entertained.
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: Thanks, though.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Dita Von Teese said, Scott Nathan has been regaling me
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: with his unspeakably filthy raucous stories for decades now. I
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: always wonder how he gets himself in these predicaments, but
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: the truth is he's a natural-born misfits magnet. Magnet. I mean,
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: when we talked about it, I didn't know the adoption thing.
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: That just came up. I've known Scott Nathan for years.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: Must say he has an almost pre- Predator natural. Predator natural. God,
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: these words are huge. Gift for making bad decisions.
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: Dr.
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: Drew Pinsky, our friend. Jack Osborne. I thought there was
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: no way this redhead could get into so much mischief
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: and debauchery. But lo and behold, it's all true. I
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: offer to refer to Scott as a more charismatic, slightly
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: more articulate Forrest Gump. Totally. I said that. I said that.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: Like you're just in all these places. So the book
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: is The Big Book of Bad Decisions. And Scott Nathan
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: is your, it's Scott Nathan Photography on Instagram.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: Scott Nathan Photo, on Instagram and TikTok is Scott Nathan Photo,
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: also on Facebook. Twitter is Scott Nathan. And then the
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: website is at baddecisionsbook.com and you can zoom in and hit.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: That QR code. Yeah, zoom in and we'll have this
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: all too in the notes.
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: Under this. And thank you so much for coming. It's
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: always a blast. It's fun to talk to you. We
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: were talking about what we were going to talk about yesterday.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: And I'm like, I think we've got to hang up.
- 1:31:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: Because I don't want to lie. I want it to
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: be fresh. And we ended up not even talking about
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: half the stuff.
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: We planned on talking about. You and I are never
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: at a shortage for Convo.
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: So you'll have to come back. And thank you so much.
- 1:31:47Speaker 4: Thank you. I appreciate you.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: for it?
