- 0:47Speaker 3: There? Hey, we gotta go here, we gotta go there,
- 0:51Speaker 3: go So Tom.
- 0:57Speaker 2: What's up?
- 0:57Speaker 1: Everybody? Welcome to another season of The ta Gate, presented
- 1:01Speaker 1: by Continental Diamond Yo. Our Minnesota Vikings are kicking off
- 1:05Speaker 1: the regular season by hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and
- 1:09Speaker 1: that means we are beyond fortunate to kick off our
- 1:13Speaker 1: season by welcoming to the show the legend Bert Kreischer,
- 1:18Speaker 1: what's up, man.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Dude, you have no idea. The Vikings to me are
- 1:22Speaker 3: like cousins because growing up as a Bucks fan, we
- 1:27Speaker 3: always play the Vikings. I mean, Fran Tarkan and for
- 1:29Speaker 3: the rest of my life will have a place in
- 1:31Speaker 3: my heart. I watched him play at Bucks Stadium throw
- 1:34Speaker 3: a perfect past in the rain over the corner of
- 1:37Speaker 3: the end zone, like I feel, I feel like the
- 1:41Speaker 3: Vikings are part of my family. The Vikings, the Packers,
- 1:44Speaker 3: the Bears, like, there's the Saints, Like that's my group.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Souh.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So the old the old NFC Central right back when,
- 1:55Speaker 1: back when everybody's like, hey, let's take all the teams
- 1:58Speaker 1: grouped near the Great Lakes and then let's throw in
- 2:01Speaker 1: an ocean locked team that has to fly there every
- 2:05Speaker 1: every year.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's exactly how it belt. And and I will
- 2:09Speaker 3: say to this day, probably one of my favorite players
- 2:13Speaker 3: that's ever played basketball or football is Randy Moss. And
- 2:17Speaker 3: watching him go to the Vikings was like it was
- 2:20Speaker 3: so fun. And then and then farther into the Vikings
- 2:22Speaker 3: there's like, you know, the Vikings have They're like they're
- 2:27Speaker 3: like your cousin who smokes weed with you on Thanksgiving
- 2:30Speaker 3: and has cool hot friends.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but here's the thing, because we've never won a title,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and that's what I always I always felt this kinship
- 2:38Speaker 1: with the Bucks until you guys got that first title
- 2:41Speaker 1: and then Tom Brady went there and you got the
- 2:43Speaker 1: second one. Because we still haven't gotten our titles. So
- 2:47Speaker 1: we're like if that cousin grew up and just showed
- 2:50Speaker 1: up at Thanksgiving still without a job, still asking the
- 2:54Speaker 1: younger cousins you want to go for a walk? Man,
- 2:57Speaker 1: That's what it feels like. Dude, it's been and there's
- 3:01Speaker 1: a video out there if anybody hasn't seen it, of
- 3:04Speaker 1: you getting given a Creamsickle throwback jersey, like a custom
- 3:09Speaker 1: one with the machine on it from the team. And
- 3:12Speaker 1: I know you were in the promo video for the
- 3:14Speaker 1: release of that jersey. But to me, as a guy
- 3:17Speaker 1: who you know, grew up as a comedian and then
- 3:20Speaker 1: got to do things with my favorite team, the emotion
- 3:24Speaker 1: that came out of you when you open that like,
- 3:27Speaker 1: I recognize that as no matter. I mean, your career
- 3:30Speaker 1: is amazing, but to have have becoming synonymous with your
- 3:35Speaker 1: favorite team means so much. Was really cool to watch.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Well, you know, It's a relationship that I put my
- 3:42Speaker 3: tenth thousand hours in. So like, yeah, I you know,
- 3:46Speaker 3: I was a Bucks fan. I was alive when they
- 3:48Speaker 3: showed up in Tampa.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I was.
- 3:50Speaker 3: We went to it was very easy to get season tickets.
- 3:53Speaker 3: We went to every game. Everything. We went to games.
- 3:56Speaker 3: This is before this is like, you know, that is
- 3:59Speaker 3: back when they wouldn't play the game if it didn't
- 4:01Speaker 3: sell out. So they never played a Bucks game, so
- 4:03Speaker 3: you had to go to Bucks games. And so I
- 4:06Speaker 3: went to every Bucks game my high chi. I was
- 4:08Speaker 3: at the first win they ever had in the stadium.
- 4:12Speaker 3: They stormed the field, tore down the goalposts, and we sucked.
- 4:15Speaker 3: And adversely, I never had any civic pride. I never
- 4:18Speaker 3: grew up being proud of Tampa. To this day, it's
- 4:21Speaker 3: hard to have pride and growing up in Florida, I
- 4:25Speaker 3: love the Bucks. And then I go to college and
- 4:28Speaker 3: they switched jerseys and they go to the Pewter and
- 4:31Speaker 3: I could not connect with it. They win the Super
- 4:34Speaker 3: Bowl for the first time. Warning snaps on the team, Mike,
- 4:38Speaker 3: I think Alstar was on the the whole, the whole,
- 4:41Speaker 3: the Leger, Derek Brooks, Everyone's on that team. But it's
- 4:44Speaker 3: in that jersey, and I did not have an attachment
- 4:48Speaker 3: to that jersey. I didn't love those colors. I still
- 4:52Speaker 3: to this day would go to when I performed in Philly,
- 4:54Speaker 3: I go to Mitchell and Ness and get throwback Bucks jerseys,
- 4:57Speaker 3: throwback Bucks ats. I got a call from the Bucks
- 5:01Speaker 3: probably six months ago, and I had done some stuff
- 5:04Speaker 3: with them and like gone to see in the stadium
- 5:05Speaker 3: and you know, and like I was still rooting for them,
- 5:09Speaker 3: and I was I was doing stuff for them online.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I got a call from the Bucks and they say, hey,
- 5:13Speaker 3: we're gonna we're bringing back the cream Sickles. And as
- 5:16Speaker 3: soon as they said that, all the investment you made
- 5:19Speaker 3: in this team starts to pay off, all of it,
- 5:23Speaker 3: all of it. And then and you're like, You're like, yo,
- 5:25Speaker 3: it's almost like it's almost like, you know, like you
- 5:29Speaker 3: fall in love with your wife and then you watch
- 5:30Speaker 3: your start drinking too much white wine at night, and
- 5:32Speaker 3: then one day she goes, you know what, I'm gonna
- 5:34Speaker 3: stop drinking white win. I'm gonna sart smoking weed like
- 5:36Speaker 3: we were in college. And You're like, that's the chick
- 5:38Speaker 3: I fell in love with, That's the chick I fell
- 5:41Speaker 3: in love with and they hit me up and they're like,
- 5:43Speaker 3: will you fly down and do And I'm like, hell yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 3: I go down there and all the dudes like I'd
- 5:48Speaker 3: run into Chris Godwin at the super Bowl, but all
- 5:51Speaker 3: the dudes that I looked up to, all the dudes
- 5:54Speaker 3: that like Derek Brooks is my age, but like, yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 3: he's there. Alsots there, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, the Vonte David,
- 6:02Speaker 3: everyone's there and I'm just like geeking out. And but
- 6:07Speaker 3: here's the key. They don't give me a creamsicle jersey.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Everyone's got their own creamsycles, right, and.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I don't get one.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And so I now listen, look and say, you know this,
- 6:19Speaker 3: as a as a famous person, I feel like maybe
- 6:25Speaker 3: no one spoke up for me. I didn't advocate for
- 6:27Speaker 3: myself and let them know, Hey, guys, I flew down
- 6:29Speaker 3: to Tampa. Where's my creamsicle jersey? I just kind of like, yo, you,
- 6:33Speaker 3: I know you were making them, Yeah, you're making them.
- 6:36Speaker 3: It does It takes nothing to put Chrysler on the
- 6:39Speaker 3: back of a jersey You've got everyone's got one but me.
- 6:41Speaker 3: But I didn't say anything, you know, you just kind
- 6:43Speaker 3: of say you don't want to be an ass. So
- 6:45Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, cool, I go back. I'm back
- 6:47Speaker 3: on tour. I'm not thinking of it. And then I'm
- 6:49Speaker 3: sitting in Vegas and I'm also at the time, I'm
- 6:53Speaker 3: drinking so much that I'm so emotional every time anyone
- 6:55Speaker 3: brings that up. You check any podcast I've been on
- 6:58Speaker 3: for the last next month. When I was partying this
- 7:01Speaker 3: whole twenty twenty three, anytime anything emotional happened, I cried
- 7:05Speaker 3: every time. Lack of sleep, over work and drinking way
- 7:09Speaker 3: too much, and they break out that cream circle. Everyone
- 7:12Speaker 3: knows they have it, dude. The floodgates opened. I was
- 7:15Speaker 3: I was ten years old. I was six years old.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I'm back at Bucks Stadium in the old sombrero and
- 7:20Speaker 3: I'm just going, like, dit my names on it, like
- 7:23Speaker 3: the same way I saw Doug William's name on a
- 7:25Speaker 3: jersey or Ricky Bell, Like I'm just sitting there going
- 7:29Speaker 3: James Wilder like I'm just freaking out and uh, and
- 7:34Speaker 3: I start crying and it was like the coolest. It
- 7:37Speaker 3: was the coolest moment. And then to have a relationship
- 7:41Speaker 3: with the team where you can call up and go, hey,
- 7:42Speaker 3: I want to come down to the Eagles Monday night
- 7:44Speaker 3: football game. Bucks Eagles is there anyway, and they're like no, no, no,
- 7:47Speaker 3: we got you. And then you're like nice. Then to
- 7:49Speaker 3: flex out with my dad, I mean, my dad would
- 7:51Speaker 3: have to hustle to get us tickets and now to
- 7:53Speaker 3: be like, hey, Dad, we got a box if you
- 7:55Speaker 3: a mom want to come, and.
- 7:56Speaker 2: He's like, who's there. I was like, it's just the
- 7:57Speaker 2: three of us and he's like, what, Like, I you
- 8:01Speaker 2: know that feeling. We're very lucky.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I know Nick Swartzon knows that feeling. I know that,
- 8:05Speaker 3: like I know that there's all of us.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Dan.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Dan Soder is huge with the like we all have
- 8:13Speaker 3: our teams and my team's finally paying off.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, and you hit for me. The main thing
- 8:19Speaker 1: on the head the dad, because I know it's not
- 8:23Speaker 1: that way for everybody, but for a lot of us,
- 8:25Speaker 1: it's the dad who sat and suffered through horrible football
- 8:30Speaker 1: years and made us love it. And then to see, like,
- 8:34Speaker 1: as silly as it is, some of the things that
- 8:36Speaker 1: I do for the team here my dad. You know,
- 8:38Speaker 1: no matter anything else, any late night appearances, he never
- 8:42Speaker 1: talks about them the way he talks about when I
- 8:45Speaker 1: appeared on local television with Paul Allen, the play by
- 8:49Speaker 1: play man. You to think I'd have won the president?
- 8:52Speaker 3: I got, I got. I'm gonna I'm gonna wun up you.
- 8:54Speaker 3: My dad's never seen me do stand up, right, never
- 8:57Speaker 3: see me do stand up.
- 8:57Speaker 2: He don't.
- 8:58Speaker 3: He doesn't want to watch. It makes them nervous. So obviously,
- 9:01Speaker 3: I've been doing twenty four years, never been to a show.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I do the Amily Arena in Tampa. It's nineteen thousand people.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I'm like, yo, mom and dad, why don't you come
- 9:11Speaker 3: out and come see the show? Bring his friends. I
- 9:15Speaker 3: got a box for you, bring as many friends as
- 9:18Speaker 3: you want. I got a party boss that'll pick you
- 9:20Speaker 3: up at your house. They'll take you here. You can
- 9:22Speaker 3: come in through the back entrance. If you want. We
- 9:24Speaker 3: have catering, you can have dinner. I'm really rolling out
- 9:26Speaker 3: the red carpet for these idiots. My dad doesn't say
- 9:29Speaker 3: a word. He texts me from the box and he's like,
- 9:32Speaker 3: Wade Boggs is here. And I was like, yeah, I know,
- 9:35Speaker 3: and he was like, do you think he knows who
- 9:37Speaker 3: you are? I go, Dad, I'm the only person going
- 9:40Speaker 3: on stage tonight. He absolutely knows who I am. My
- 9:44Speaker 3: Dad's like, this is crazy. Can you believe Wade Boggs
- 9:46Speaker 3: knows who you are? And I'm like, yeah, yeah, Dad,
- 9:48Speaker 3: I yeah I can. And so we get done the
- 9:51Speaker 3: whole show. My dad comes back to say, you don't
- 9:54Speaker 3: just see me for the first time ever? Do stand
- 9:56Speaker 3: up by the way I killed it. I had a
- 9:58Speaker 3: good set because I'd already take my Netflix special and
- 10:01Speaker 3: it had an air and so I got to do
- 10:03Speaker 3: that material right. Yeah, So I had a great set.
- 10:08Speaker 3: It was a good set. It's everyone check out uh
- 10:11Speaker 3: Razzle dazzle. So I go backstage and Derek Brooks is
- 10:17Speaker 3: there and he's got the ring on and he's got
- 10:19Speaker 3: the jersey. He gives me a jersey for the UH
- 10:22Speaker 3: for the lightning. You know, this is for you for
- 10:24Speaker 3: selling out the Emily and he and and I say, hey,
- 10:28Speaker 3: do you mind if I introduced you to my dad.
- 10:30Speaker 3: My dad has not said anything about my set, not
- 10:31Speaker 3: anything about the amount of tickets I sold, nothing, not
- 10:34Speaker 3: about being in the box. He's been quiet like this, Like,
- 10:38Speaker 3: so I bring Derek Brooks backstage and my dad lights up.
- 10:41Speaker 3: He goes yeah, And Derek Brooks says, miss chrisher It's
- 10:45Speaker 3: pleasured to me. My dad was buddy, I hold on.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I watched you at Florida State. I followed you through
- 10:50Speaker 3: the bus. You have such a story career, and I
- 10:52Speaker 3: love what you're doing right now with your with you're
- 10:55Speaker 3: working with the Lightning. You're just such a great look
- 10:58Speaker 3: for Tampa Bay. I mean, it's such an honored And then
- 11:01Speaker 3: he goes, what are you doing here? Derek Brooks goes,
- 11:04Speaker 3: I'm here for your son show, and he goes what
- 11:08Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, you know, I obviously I work, but
- 11:10Speaker 3: I've you know, I'm Bert. I went to college with Bert.
- 11:13Speaker 3: My dad goes, you know who Burt is, and he goes, well, yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 3: and he goes and it's kind of crazy to see
- 11:18Speaker 3: how how his career has grown from like his first
- 11:22Speaker 3: show at Pop Elly's and my dad goes, you were
- 11:25Speaker 3: at his first show at pop Elly's and Derek Brooks like, yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 3: I was at the first time he ever did stand up.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I was at Pop Elly's. And now I see him
- 11:31Speaker 3: here and it's really crazy. My dad goes, cool, Derek
- 11:36Speaker 3: Brooks walks out. My dad goes, Derek Brooks knows who
- 11:39Speaker 3: you are. Derek Brooks knows who you are, Derek Brooks,
- 11:42Speaker 3: so yours buddy, Derek Brooks. Derek, I mean like he
- 11:45Speaker 3: geeked out on the fact that Derek Brooks was at
- 11:48Speaker 3: the Emily more than I sold nineteen thousand tickets at
- 11:51Speaker 3: the Emily.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Yeah, at that point, he just almost has to turn
- 11:57Speaker 1: over his dad title to Derek Brooks. If Derek has
- 12:00Speaker 1: carried you through all those Tampa shows.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I was gonna I was gonna do a hot hustle
- 12:05Speaker 3: out of San Diego to Tampa on a private to
- 12:08Speaker 3: get my dad to play in Derek Brooks's celebrity golf
- 12:10Speaker 3: tournament on Monday so that I could get back on
- 12:13Speaker 3: Tuesday for Red Rocks. Like I was gonna do a
- 12:16Speaker 3: hot hustle. But that's how big of a buck that.
- 12:18Speaker 3: But you're right is paying it forward to your parents
- 12:21Speaker 3: and letting them be in the one because they were
- 12:23Speaker 3: the ones that sat next to you with all the
- 12:24Speaker 3: games when you knew you were losing, but you were
- 12:26Speaker 3: seven years old and you were like, hold on, I
- 12:28Speaker 3: want to see until the end of the game.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You never know.
- 12:30Speaker 3: You never know, Dad, and that and that that energy
- 12:33Speaker 3: that a child has that dad sat next to you
- 12:36Speaker 3: and was like, we could beat traffic. We're gonna lose.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I already I don't even care if we win at
- 12:40Speaker 3: this point our season. Shit, we just put that to
- 12:43Speaker 3: pay it forward and be able to take your dad
- 12:45Speaker 3: to a game in a in a nice upscale way
- 12:48Speaker 3: and like get him on the field.
- 12:50Speaker 2: It's the best.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So cool, it's so cool.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Right, let me hang on, let me tell you my
- 12:55Speaker 2: great Viking story real quick.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yes, okay, so.
- 13:00Speaker 3: It's got to be. It's gotta be fourteen years ago.
- 13:03Speaker 3: It's gotta be fourteen or fifteen years ago. Coach Tye
- 13:07Speaker 3: was the coach, soh okay.
- 13:10Speaker 1: My guy, a guy who a lot of people have
- 13:14Speaker 1: said a lot of things he is. He has sainthood
- 13:17Speaker 1: in my book. Mike Tyson I real quick. I as
- 13:21Speaker 1: a kid, like Bert too old of a kid. The
- 13:25Speaker 1: fact that I'm using kid is offensive. I was like,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you know what, I like that Tice. He would do
- 13:33Speaker 1: a radio show on the local, like only coach to
- 13:36Speaker 1: ever do a radio show. It was this cool look
- 13:37Speaker 1: into the team. I wrote the dude a letter. I
- 13:40Speaker 1: was like, yo, man, it means so much to me
- 13:42Speaker 1: and my family. We all sit around and listen to
- 13:44Speaker 1: the show you're the first coach that's been accessible. This
- 13:47Speaker 1: is amazing. Thank you, And then I forgot about it.
- 13:50Speaker 1: He during the season wrote a handwritten letter back thanking me.
- 13:57Speaker 1: That dude. That dude is a.
- 14:00Speaker 3: He's a solid dude. So we get an offer from
- 14:05Speaker 3: the Minnesota Vikings. It is their uh, their booster dinner
- 14:10Speaker 3: where they huge dinner at a big, a big, big auditorium.
- 14:15Speaker 3: It's me, Bobby Kelly and Jim Florentine. We get an offer.
- 14:19Speaker 3: It's good money. It's like I I this is important
- 14:22Speaker 3: to comics, but it's like five grand each.
- 14:25Speaker 2: All we gotta do.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Is that's a good Yeah, that's a good corporate offer.
- 14:28Speaker 3: All we gotta do is twenty minutes each one hour comedy. Yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 3: and it's fifteen grand and and uh and we're and
- 14:34Speaker 3: we're oh, we're They're going to do a big ceremony
- 14:37Speaker 3: and then at the end we do stand up close
- 14:39Speaker 3: it out. So, I mean, we're in the we're in
- 14:43Speaker 3: the hallway. Dante Culpepper and Randy Moss are busting balls.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I mean we're I'm looking at Randy Moss. We're in
- 14:50Speaker 3: the hallway. All the Vikings are lined up, they're all
- 14:53Speaker 3: they're all dressed up nice.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Uh.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Coach Tice comes up. He's like, uh, he's busting ball
- 15:00Speaker 3: like with me, Bobby and Florentine. The big guy in
- 15:05Speaker 3: the big purple outfit, the announcer comes out. He comes
- 15:08Speaker 3: and then they take us backstage and all like a
- 15:11Speaker 3: couple of players talk right. Coach Tye comes back, hangs
- 15:14Speaker 3: out with us backstage and he's like, hey, don't bomb
- 15:17Speaker 3: out there. There's like thirteen hundred people. There's a lot
- 15:20Speaker 3: of people. All our boosters are there. Every player is
- 15:24Speaker 3: sitting with one set of booster tables. Every table has
- 15:27Speaker 3: like ten thirteen people. And I'm being serious. I don't
- 15:30Speaker 3: know the numbers, but there's maybe seventy five to one
- 15:34Speaker 3: hundred tables. There's a lot of people in this auditorium.
- 15:37Speaker 2: M hm.
- 15:40Speaker 3: The guy in the purple outfit comes back and he's like,
- 15:44Speaker 3: all right, Coach Tyst is given a moving speech.
- 15:46Speaker 2: It's about dedicated. It's a great speech.
- 15:48Speaker 3: It's like a it's an awesome speech. Coach Tyst is
- 15:52Speaker 3: gonna give his speech. He's gonna pump him up for
- 15:54Speaker 3: you guys, and then I'm gonna bring you guys out.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Who's going first? I'm the youngest out of my mom.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm going first. He's like, cool, all right,
- 16:02Speaker 3: don't curse, obviously, keep it clean, whatever, but you know,
- 16:06Speaker 3: have fun, have fun. Also, don't mention the players, like,
- 16:09Speaker 3: don't go after the players, like, don't don't highlight the players,
- 16:12Speaker 3: just whatever. Coach Tyce is like, all right, then we're
- 16:16Speaker 3: gonna have a great season and this show's not over.
- 16:18Speaker 3: They got stand up comedy. So I met these guys backstage.
- 16:22Speaker 3: You're good guys. Give them the respect you gave me.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Thank you so much. Places go standing ovation for Coach Tyce.
- 16:27Speaker 3: He gets on stage. Guy in the purple outfits like
- 16:31Speaker 3: ladies and gentlemen, Mike Tye, Mike Tys, Hey, he's good.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Coach Tyce. Hey, they and he's right, we got stand
- 16:37Speaker 3: up comedy. We got stand up comedy coming right now.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Who's ready for stand up comedy? I mean, the place
- 16:42Speaker 3: goes nuts. Who's ready for stand up comedy? Randy Moss
- 16:46Speaker 3: do you like comedy?
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:48Speaker 2: To day Colepepper, do you like comedy?
- 16:51Speaker 3: Yeah? And he's like, all right, before we start this
- 16:53Speaker 3: comedy show, we're gonna release all the players into the
- 16:56Speaker 3: lobby to do autographs. If you would like to get
- 16:58Speaker 3: an autograph, get up now and head out to the lobby.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for Bert Chryscher.
- 17:03Speaker 3: As I walk on stage, of five thousand people stand
- 17:07Speaker 3: up and exit, including all the players. The only person
- 17:12Speaker 3: that stays is mort Anderson, the kicker. He gets up
- 17:18Speaker 3: from his table. He gets up and sits at the
- 17:20Speaker 3: front table with fifteen people. I did twenty minutes to
- 17:25Speaker 3: mort Anderson and fifteen people. Bobby Kelly and Jim Florentine
- 17:29Speaker 3: are behind the curtain behind me, going.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You're bombing, you're bombing.
- 17:34Speaker 3: They don't know. No one's in the room. There's not
- 17:38Speaker 3: a laugh in the room. Ladies and gentlemen. That was
- 17:40Speaker 3: my time. Bobby Kelly comes out and he goes where
- 17:42Speaker 3: there is everybody. I go there in the lobby. Bobby bombs,
- 17:46Speaker 3: Jim Florentine bombs. Then Morten Anderson goes, hey, you want
- 17:49Speaker 3: to go play botchie ball? Or like what he's like,
- 17:53Speaker 3: you guys were players, Let's go play botchi ball. We
- 17:55Speaker 3: go out to play botchie ball. There's a place in
- 17:57Speaker 3: Minnesota that has like botchi balls on the roof, and
- 18:00Speaker 3: we had cold Beers played Botchie Paul until two in
- 18:02Speaker 3: the morning. Mort Anderson's the name of the kicker, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 3: yeah yeah. We parted with him.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Until there was a Gary. Now there was a Gary
- 18:09Speaker 1: Anderson that played for US forever, and then Morton also
- 18:13Speaker 1: played for US.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Was older. He was like he was older, right.
- 18:16Speaker 1: It could have been either they crossed over. It could
- 18:19Speaker 1: have been either of those Anderson's. But that's dude to have.
- 18:24Speaker 1: But at that point that had to have been amazing
- 18:27Speaker 1: even to like, obviously Bummer did not have the big crowd,
- 18:30Speaker 1: but the follow up of the cool story to just
- 18:32Speaker 1: be like, oh, I guess we're gonna play botchi ball
- 18:34Speaker 1: with an NFL kicker and tel bar close.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's amazing. It was awesome.
- 18:39Speaker 3: It was like and you know those stories of you
- 18:41Speaker 3: eating it on stage, they suck in the moment and
- 18:44Speaker 3: you and you can't even appreciate it the next morning,
- 18:46Speaker 3: But twenty years later, fifteen years later, you're like, thank
- 18:50Speaker 3: god I did in Minnesota.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Bert, You're the absolute king man. I really really appreciate this.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Last thing we do is h
- 19:00Speaker 1: I always make the guests and they all hate it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I want a prediction for Sunday. Your boys are coming
- 19:05Speaker 1: to Minnesota season on new quarterback, lower expectations.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Okay, listen, I listen. I hope this message gets to
- 19:15Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I love Baker Mayfield. I love his energy. I loved
- 19:19Speaker 3: his energy in college. I love that boy energy. I
- 19:22Speaker 3: did the Beer Olympics with a bunch of pro football
- 19:24Speaker 3: players and brother. When they compete, their eyes go black
- 19:27Speaker 3: like sharks. They bite onto tables and they have one mode,
- 19:31Speaker 3: and it's apex predator. And I want Baker Mayfield to
- 19:35Speaker 3: go old school apex predator, the apex predator that he
- 19:38Speaker 3: was in college when people said, yo, he's got to
- 19:41Speaker 3: tone it down if he's got to go to the NFL.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Screw that you're in the NFL. Go hard in the paint,
- 19:46Speaker 3: Go real hard in the paint. Offend people and have
- 19:49Speaker 3: them want to cancel you because of your out of
- 19:52Speaker 3: the box personality. And prove yourself on the field. Be undeniable,
- 19:57Speaker 3: Be undeniable all season. Take big chances. No one watches
- 20:02Speaker 3: golf to watch a dude lay up. No one watches
- 20:05Speaker 3: golf to watch a dude lay up. Be tim cup,
- 20:08Speaker 3: go for the shot, be lightning in a bottle, be Thors,
- 20:12Speaker 3: That's what I want. I want Baker Mayfield to go hardest.
- 20:15Speaker 3: I want deep passes first play, and I'm predicting thirty
- 20:19Speaker 3: one seventeen bucks over Vikings.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I hate it and I love it. Anytime somebody wraps
- 20:25Speaker 1: tin Cup into a prediction, I can't help but fall
- 20:27Speaker 1: a little bit on their side. Thank you for doing it, man,
- 20:29Speaker 1: You're a king brother.
- 20:31Speaker 3: You're the best anytime, anytime. I'm sure we'll play each
- 20:33Speaker 3: other again this season hit me up again.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Well, it doesn't get much better than that. Everybody, Thank
- 20:39Speaker 1: you for tuning in, and keep tuning in all year
- 20:42Speaker 1: for more episodes of the Tailgate. We appreciate you, we
- 20:46Speaker 1: love you, and we're glad to be back. Skull Vikings.
