- 1:11Speaker 4: Hello, Leggy, good morning fellas.
- 1:12Speaker 3: This is a crowded table today, it is.
- 1:14Speaker 4: It's full of stuff. Perfect.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Perfect. This is the first day, though that we've had.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I'm guessing the players love a day like this. I
- 1:20Speaker 1: mean it's overcast yet sweating your.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Face off, don't at all.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels pretty good out here.
- 1:26Speaker 4: It feels great. Ready to go.
- 1:29Speaker 3: You know, we had to kick it off.
- 1:30Speaker 5: In fact, let's run this audio back, Nelly, can you
- 1:33Speaker 5: give us again? Sean Payton talking about the unofficial depth
- 1:38Speaker 5: chart yesterday with the media, and hear his response to
- 1:41Speaker 5: that again.
- 1:43Speaker 1: One of them, the depth chart has to be released
- 1:45Speaker 1: in a certain time. Would you like to see the
- 1:47Speaker 1: NFL get rid of it?
- 1:48Speaker 4: No?
- 1:49Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no, come on no.
- 1:52Speaker 4: We just released the depth chart yesterday. All good. I
- 1:55Speaker 4: just didn't spend a lot of time on them. But
- 1:57Speaker 4: what's the purpose of doing you ask them.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I mean, I think for every game, I think it's
- 2:03Speaker 1: important there's a depth chart.
- 2:04Speaker 4: It's a starting point. I just didn't want to make
- 2:06Speaker 4: a big deal over the rookies all being at the
- 2:08Speaker 4: end of the line and you guys went into a tizzy.
- 2:10Speaker 3: So all right, they're all at.
- 2:12Speaker 4: The end of the line, and obviously that'll change.
- 2:15Speaker 5: I'm with them on that, though, Leggy. It's like you
- 2:17Speaker 5: can read between the lines. I don't think Troy Franklin's
- 2:20Speaker 5: the twelfth man on the depth chart. I don't think
- 2:22Speaker 5: Padrick Estimate's fifth on the running back chart.
- 2:25Speaker 4: I mean, come on, no, come on, I think get
- 2:29Speaker 4: too excited about it. It's just something. It dates back
- 2:33Speaker 4: to the Roselle days when when Roselle was very intent
- 2:36Speaker 4: on making pro football accessible to fans, right, so they
- 2:41Speaker 4: he made teams say what your lineup's gonna be Because
- 2:45Speaker 4: coaches Peter knows he deals with all the time. I
- 2:48Speaker 4: mean the coaches. Will you give a coach a choice
- 2:51Speaker 4: between not saying something and saying something, They're always going
- 2:53Speaker 4: to choose not saying something. But just don't you like.
- 2:56Speaker 6: The fact that Sean's not afraid to take on the
- 2:59Speaker 6: three forty five park. He always takes on three forty
- 3:02Speaker 6: five park.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I think the suspension, the suspension still rings true Avenue. No,
- 3:10Speaker 4: he did not, Jeff, No, that's that everybody knows that
- 3:14Speaker 4: sometimes they don't look beyond Park Avenue. But don't you
- 3:18Speaker 4: let as a reporter covering the team, that's refreshing, right, Yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 4: I mean you probably remember remember Mike Shanahan did it
- 3:25Speaker 4: alphabetically one year, he did the depth chart alphabetically right,
- 3:29Speaker 4: and the league was like, hey, uh.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Take it a little bit more seriously than you are.
- 3:34Speaker 4: And then one one time they got on Mike for
- 3:36Speaker 4: the injury report. Oh yeah, So the next week he
- 3:39Speaker 4: listed like forty five guys on the injury report.
- 3:42Speaker 5: Your best guess for this weekend, though, what do you
- 3:44Speaker 5: think it's actually gonna look like as far as snaps
- 3:46Speaker 5: divvied out to?
- 3:47Speaker 3: First of all, do you think starters play?
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he will play starters. If you're healthy, you will
- 3:52Speaker 4: play probably fifteen to eighteen snaps if you're a healthy starter.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Does that mean when he when he when you hear
- 3:59Speaker 4: him say phase one, Phase two, phase three, he's talking
- 4:02Speaker 4: healthy levels of players. Your Phase one if you're completely
- 4:06Speaker 4: healthy and you have no issues, Phase two if you're
- 4:09Speaker 4: coming back from something. Phase three if you've been hurt
- 4:12Speaker 4: in camp so far.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Does that mean that Stidham's fifteen to eighteen snaps.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Or I don't think they do that differently with the quarterbacks.
- 4:19Speaker 4: No, I mean he said yesterday probably closer to what
- 4:22Speaker 4: it looked like last year, and last year it was
- 4:24Speaker 4: like fifteen eighteen, gotcha? So then I'm guessing Steiadham he
- 4:29Speaker 4: will get the start this time, so then Bo goes
- 4:31Speaker 4: with the two I would think so. But I think
- 4:34Speaker 4: Bo will have a I started the game series of
- 4:37Speaker 4: plays with the one line. Yeah, or with a one script.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I guess I should Okay, Oh, so one script.
- 4:45Speaker 4: I think he will get a very comfortable script to
- 4:49Speaker 4: look good.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I completely agree with that. I don't put too much
- 4:53Speaker 1: into it because it's early on. We don't hear from
- 4:56Speaker 1: the quarterbacks a ton like we did.
- 4:57Speaker 4: And you're super bored.
- 4:58Speaker 1: You're super bored. And I'm not going to say I'm
- 5:00Speaker 1: not going to sit here and break down guys demeanor.
- 5:03Speaker 1: If it's a continued, continuing thing, then that's one thing.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But Bo was bo Nix was a little bit I
- 5:09Speaker 1: want to say snippy yesterday. But he's a little bit
- 5:11Speaker 1: short at times, a little bit this.
- 5:12Speaker 4: M welcome to the league. I'm tired of being asked
- 5:15Speaker 4: about what he's being asked about.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Do you what do you think?
- 5:17Speaker 6: I get tired of bad answers to but I don't
- 5:20Speaker 6: show it. I love well, that's what I was saying. Oh,
- 5:22Speaker 6: he's got to learn not to show it.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Yeah, no, you got to just be better at usually
- 5:26Speaker 4: and look, being the quarterback here as not being the
- 5:29Speaker 4: quarterback in like twenty other places in the league. Either,
- 5:32Speaker 4: you know, this is a different You know when Peyton
- 5:36Speaker 4: Manning asked me, is it like this all the time?
- 5:38Speaker 4: That's that tells you what kind of place this is.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Oh, no doubt about it.
- 5:41Speaker 4: But do you think that it would be different if
- 5:43Speaker 4: he was playing for the Jets this year? Yeah, or wherever.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I mean, there's a million places you could play. It
- 5:49Speaker 4: wouldn't be do.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You But do you think it's a it's a product
- 5:52Speaker 1: of him being tired of asking if you being tired
- 5:55Speaker 1: of being asked the same question? Or is there a
- 5:57Speaker 1: little frustration coming out because I haven't have you seen
- 6:00Speaker 1: the offense winned day yet here in training camp?
- 6:02Speaker 4: Not fully? Okay, in the last two days have been
- 6:05Speaker 4: really uh be exactly. They added pressure packages yesterday and
- 6:10Speaker 4: it was like offensively they had never seen anything before.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Soul that could that figure into perhaps to his demeter.
- 6:18Speaker 4: And you know, I don't think meetings. Meetings in training
- 6:22Speaker 4: camp are not fun when they go over everything you
- 6:24Speaker 4: did in practice, play by play by play, and you yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 4: and I've got yeah, I've got to twenty somethings who
- 6:32Speaker 4: roll their eyes at me all the time when I
- 6:34Speaker 4: give awesome directions. Well that's because you're kidding your kids
- 6:38Speaker 4: and using the film. Yeah breaking this down. When when
- 6:42Speaker 4: you took out the trash, why did.
- 6:43Speaker 3: They yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Scrave it up.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Let's look at this lid opening technique.
- 6:48Speaker 4: You know, when they see the telestrader come out, then
- 6:50Speaker 4: they're a little.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Bit of you know what like you.
- 6:53Speaker 5: One thing that we were talking about earlier, I was
- 6:55Speaker 5: asking Peter about, you know, the guys who've been suspended
- 6:58Speaker 5: for gambling stuff, and you've got one back to wajo Rican. Obviously,
- 7:01Speaker 5: if you're suspended for a year and they kept you
- 7:03Speaker 5: on the roster, they seem to like you.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Like oh that white translation certainly.
- 7:07Speaker 5: And the defensive front I will say, they have a
- 7:11Speaker 5: lot of depth, like they're solid.
- 7:13Speaker 4: They do like him, and because of that depth, he
- 7:15Speaker 4: may end up a practice squad guy this year. And
- 7:19Speaker 4: you know, best thing, only, maybe the only good thing
- 7:22Speaker 4: that came out of COVID in the league is the
- 7:24Speaker 4: practice squad. Now is what sixteen is finally what it
- 7:28Speaker 4: should resemble. You know, well, I'll remember when it was three,
- 7:31Speaker 4: it was like the dumbest thing. Ever.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Well, also you have practice squad elevation too. That came
- 7:35Speaker 6: from COVID too, and that's fantastic. And you can be
- 7:37Speaker 6: a veteran. There's a veteran minimum on the prey and
- 7:39Speaker 6: you can make a pretty good living. You know, it's
- 7:42Speaker 6: only fourteen thousand dollars a week.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah, some of us like yourself. Yeah, as my wardrobe
- 7:50Speaker 4: would attest, I really need to be a wash in
- 7:54Speaker 4: the cag How about the divid fillers here, That's what
- 7:57Speaker 4: I do that. I do that a lot a lot
- 7:59Speaker 4: of days because they keep they only want to use.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Next week they'll they'll finally use both fields, but this
- 8:06Speaker 4: week they only they want to be by the fans,
- 8:09Speaker 4: so they've used to the one field.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Stidham was was a little bit chatty yesterday.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Well he's he's far more comfortable in what's going on
- 8:16Speaker 4: than the other two guys. But Zach Wilson, dude played
- 8:19Speaker 4: for Belichick, man, and the rest of it is like whatever.
- 8:24Speaker 4: You know, he was in the room with Belichick and Brady.
- 8:27Speaker 4: This is like a walk in the morning park for.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Being third on the depth chart. I know he's got
- 8:32Speaker 1: some guaranteed money and all this kind of thing. But
- 8:34Speaker 1: Zack Wilson seems to be a pretty happy, go lucky
- 8:37Speaker 1: son of a gun too with I mean, he could
- 8:39Speaker 1: be pouting about his situation and maybe he did. Maybe
- 8:42Speaker 1: he did did not get a real shot.
- 8:44Speaker 4: You want to talk about not showing your I mean
- 8:47Speaker 4: he I you know, when you're removed from the rotation
- 8:50Speaker 4: that quickly.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not But I liked but I like his demeanor.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I like, you know, they like him here. I think
- 8:57Speaker 4: I think they will try very hard to figure out
- 9:00Speaker 4: way to keep him around. But they think, I know,
- 9:03Speaker 4: I know they think there's a lot there and that
- 9:06Speaker 4: with some work that they could they could get.
- 9:09Speaker 6: And deep programming and yeah, yeah, you just that he's
- 9:12Speaker 6: like a battered child syndrome.
- 9:14Speaker 4: You know, when you throw those guys in the deep
- 9:16Speaker 4: end of the pool and you don't have the infrastructure
- 9:19Speaker 4: around him, you're going to end up. You know, people
- 9:21Speaker 4: wonder why the burnout rates so high a quarterback, It's
- 9:24Speaker 4: because people don't take care of the developmental park. Yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 4: he has some natural talent. Oh he's he has the
- 9:30Speaker 4: best arm of the bunch. And it's not really close.
- 9:33Speaker 5: You know, as far as everything we've talked to, you
- 9:36Speaker 5: a little bit about position positions that might be log
- 9:39Speaker 5: jammed at the end of training camp. And I'm really
- 9:42Speaker 5: curious when this all starts to kind of sort itself out,
- 9:45Speaker 5: which positions are the really cutting that guy the surprise cuts.
- 9:50Speaker 5: I guess where do you think that comes from? Is
- 9:52Speaker 5: that the wide receiver group?
- 9:53Speaker 3: Running backs?
- 9:54Speaker 4: Definitely running back? You know, I think the decision really
- 9:58Speaker 4: is keeping four or three. Last year they kept three.
- 10:02Speaker 4: But he has said, you know, Shawn has said he's
- 10:05Speaker 4: not married to a certain number at certain positions. And
- 10:08Speaker 4: I've told people he's also the only coach I can
- 10:10Speaker 4: remember to have kept four quarterbacks on on the cut
- 10:14Speaker 4: to fifty three.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Well, I think it all depends on how much they're
- 10:16Speaker 6: gonna use pe Ryan and is he a bell cow
- 10:18Speaker 6: or is he gonna be third or you.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Know, do they think one of those other guys can
- 10:22Speaker 4: be as reliable as p Ryan on third down?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Will he?
- 10:25Speaker 4: Will they pick up? The let's pick up is a
- 10:28Speaker 4: big concern right now, and p Ryan has the trump
- 10:30Speaker 4: card on the other guys in that role.
- 10:33Speaker 1: You and I were talking about estimate the other day,
- 10:36Speaker 1: and I thought it was interesting because I don't know
- 10:37Speaker 1: if you asked the question somebody else did about him,
- 10:40Speaker 1: this is this a handful of days ago, and he
- 10:43Speaker 1: went out of his way to bring up some GP
- 10:45Speaker 1: Ryan and and what he is able to do. I
- 10:47Speaker 1: think you know it was in picking up Yeah, it
- 10:50Speaker 1: was in blocks.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Has that over the other guys right now.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But but Sean Payton went out of his way to
- 10:56Speaker 1: say this is what, this is why, this is why
- 10:59Speaker 1: it makes him so voud because he can do this.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I mean, and plus he can catch the football. And
- 11:03Speaker 1: I know that they're trying other guys in that regard,
- 11:05Speaker 1: but it seems to me that when a coach comes
- 11:07Speaker 1: out and he doesn't he's not asked about a certain player,
- 11:10Speaker 1: but he but he lauds a certain player. That's pretty good, right.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I mean, it makes you feel pretty good about about
- 11:16Speaker 1: where he's at in camp right now.
- 11:18Speaker 4: But again, you know, fifty three is an unforgiving number.
- 11:22Speaker 4: And you know, all of the assistants and all of
- 11:24Speaker 4: the guys, everybody's got the their wants and needs, and
- 11:28Speaker 4: it's you know that that's that fine line between luxury
- 11:32Speaker 4: and got a half. But I will say, you know, third,
- 11:35Speaker 4: third down or longer down passing situations, Uh, those are
- 11:41Speaker 4: the big hit potential on quarterbacks and if if you
- 11:44Speaker 4: are a running back who is reliable in that, they're
- 11:47Speaker 4: going to keep you around or someone's gonna have to
- 11:50Speaker 4: show they're as good as you doing that. And also
- 11:54Speaker 4: I think over the year, Sean Payton has shown if
- 11:57Speaker 4: given a choice between youth and the consistency and reliability
- 12:02Speaker 4: of a veteran, he's going to go with the consistency
- 12:05Speaker 4: and the reliability of a veteran, especially a guy like
- 12:08Speaker 4: I mean, he's been there before. And the blitz pickup
- 12:10Speaker 4: is not as easy as it looks. It's you got
- 12:13Speaker 4: to know who to.
- 12:13Speaker 6: Block and a fast choice, and you've got to be
- 12:15Speaker 6: willing to block. And it's that's a tough, tough position.
- 12:19Speaker 6: And you're not putting a rookie there first, especially with
- 12:21Speaker 6: the young quarterback. Ye put him in the hospital, don't smoked.
- 12:24Speaker 4: And I think that's part of the decision, you know.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I think he's framed a lot of things as if
- 12:29Speaker 4: bo Nix will be the starter, whether or not whenever
- 12:33Speaker 4: he will say that or if and when, But they've
- 12:37Speaker 4: a lot of the things he talks about are framed
- 12:40Speaker 4: in such a way that it's almost like the plan
- 12:43Speaker 4: is the young quarterbacks in the lineup.
- 12:46Speaker 5: Where we get offensive line wise, I know they're carrying
- 12:48Speaker 5: over four guys from last year. They were remarkably healthy
- 12:51Speaker 5: last season, got a new center.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Well, Bailey's injury has really put things. They're searching now
- 12:57Speaker 4: for a backup tackle swing tackle, and I would guess,
- 13:03Speaker 4: you know, folks like Peter are going to be busy
- 13:06Speaker 4: with them and tackles after the cut to fifty three.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I think they will. But there's no tackles and there
- 13:11Speaker 4: aren't any. There aren't any learnt any now learn hardly.
- 13:14Speaker 1: This is why we talk about even swing tackles, but
- 13:17Speaker 1: left tackles whatever.
- 13:18Speaker 4: But his injury, we don't. We don't talk. It's Quinn
- 13:20Speaker 4: Bailey and people are like, oh whatever, but no, it
- 13:22Speaker 4: was that was a significant injury.
- 13:24Speaker 6: Because when you're a swing tackle, then you're basically a
- 13:27Speaker 6: sixth offense lineman.
- 13:28Speaker 4: And he's a swing guard too well, and he plays
- 13:31Speaker 4: you know that, he's heavy, he plays off. He plays
- 13:34Speaker 4: in the heavy off in the formation, the other tight end,
- 13:37Speaker 4: the whole bit.
- 13:38Speaker 5: If they stay healthy, though, do you think this offensive
- 13:40Speaker 5: line is all right or what?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 13:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but they got to stay healthy.
- 13:43Speaker 4: I mean they you know, Garrett Bowles was not in
- 13:46Speaker 4: practice the other day, and it was pretty evident he
- 13:48Speaker 4: was not in practice.
- 13:49Speaker 3: You too, Center. It concerned all.
- 13:51Speaker 4: They they like what they see in both guys. You know,
- 13:54Speaker 4: I thought forsythe was in the league, but Wattenberg lately
- 13:56Speaker 4: has been the guy getting the real rep.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Center's easiest on the line to replace, I mean, talent wise.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Let me you, two guys are football geeks. Okay, which
- 14:06Speaker 1: is good. That's that's not pejorative. That's a that's a
- 14:09Speaker 1: that's an admirable thing.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Is it a big word? Day?
- 14:12Speaker 1: It is?
- 14:13Speaker 4: But but did you get that? Do you have like
- 14:15Speaker 4: a word of the day?
- 14:17Speaker 1: It came up on my phone for the record.
- 14:20Speaker 4: In my family, they would never use the word football.
- 14:22Speaker 4: They would just geek.
- 14:25Speaker 6: So I'm taking that as a huge comp I'm a
- 14:27Speaker 6: limited geekied.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But but I need a game, man. I get to
- 14:32Speaker 1: the point where I need a game because.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Dude, yeah, I don't even want to tell you what
- 14:35Speaker 4: we just stood next to me the first day a
- 14:38Speaker 4: board Already, you could be here all day.
- 14:42Speaker 1: You could be here all day and all night watching
- 14:44Speaker 1: film too. You should be honestly, you should be in
- 14:46Speaker 1: that room with those guys.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Meanwhile, if you want breakdowns on the the shifts at
- 14:52Speaker 5: morning skate, you know, in the middle of December with
- 14:56Speaker 5: the ass, he's got about eight thousand things that I know.
- 14:59Speaker 4: I got man Captain boredom. But there's been nothing to
- 15:03Speaker 4: watch since the Masters.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Basically kind of yeah, kind of.
- 15:08Speaker 6: I just wasn't because especially the Nuggets in the ALP
- 15:11Speaker 6: lance when they went out early when we were.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, dude, do you get excited about watching your clients play?
- 15:15Speaker 1: I mean, okay, so you do. So, I mean I
- 15:18Speaker 1: get tape, you get antsy? Do you get antsy getting
- 15:20Speaker 1: ready for their preseason and ramping up for the regular season.
- 15:23Speaker 4: I don't get antsy. I get excited, but okay, I
- 15:25Speaker 4: mean it's something doing.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Then you know, we watch the tape, and then we
- 15:28Speaker 6: get the tape the next day, and we watched that,
- 15:30Speaker 6: and you're trying to look in Okay, where's he playing,
- 15:31Speaker 6: who's he playing?
- 15:32Speaker 4: How's he playing against the situation? Right? Is he the
- 15:35Speaker 4: fifth corner of the fourth corner? Does he have a chance?
- 15:37Speaker 4: You know what? You look at it right?
- 15:40Speaker 5: Also, before we let you go leggy earlier this week,
- 15:44Speaker 5: I was surprised by this. I know we had injuries
- 15:46Speaker 5: the last couple of years, but Stearns was a talented player.
- 15:49Speaker 5: The safety room got a lot thinner without Kareem Jackson
- 15:51Speaker 5: and Justin Simmons this year. I know that they like
- 15:54Speaker 5: Jail Skinner and what he's brought to the table this
- 15:56Speaker 5: this offseason.
- 15:57Speaker 1: He's big.
- 15:57Speaker 5: But do you think that they're bring in anybody else?
- 16:01Speaker 5: Or is that just we're so comfortable with guys like
- 16:03Speaker 5: Skinner that.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Okay, he Sean Payton will bring in anybody at any time.
- 16:09Speaker 4: He is not. Uh. He He tells them in meetings
- 16:14Speaker 4: often that look, it isn't just here. Don't don't look
- 16:18Speaker 4: around your room and think those are the only guys
- 16:20Speaker 4: you have to beat, He tells them as an agent.
- 16:25Speaker 6: As an agent perspective, you don't want a guy stern
- 16:27Speaker 6: getting cut this early. Something happened and that's not a
- 16:30Speaker 6: good sign to the rest.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Of the Were you were you surprised?
- 16:33Speaker 4: No? I was not. I mean you look at the rotations.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Uh uh. I'm assuming he was not happy with the rotations, and.
- 16:43Speaker 3: That's probably watcha gotcha.
- 16:46Speaker 4: I don't think he got claimed, did he? I don't,
- 16:48Speaker 4: not that I know of. I just got the wire.
- 16:50Speaker 4: I checked I checked earlier, and I didn't see anything.
- 16:53Speaker 1: So basically this is a maybe he made his feelings known.
- 16:56Speaker 4: They said, you know, I can't say that you don't
- 16:58Speaker 4: want to sit here.
- 16:59Speaker 1: He put it, I know, for he's got he's got ability,
- 17:04Speaker 1: and he's.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Coming off an injury, so that he was already sort
- 17:07Speaker 4: of limited double double whammy in his participation. But uh no,
- 17:11Speaker 4: I mean this again, this is a quote unquote new
- 17:16Speaker 4: staff that isn't married to the players. It didn't bring in.
- 17:20Speaker 4: So if you know, if you were here when they
- 17:22Speaker 4: got here, you're gonna have to show him why they
- 17:24Speaker 4: should keep you around. And they had. You know, I
- 17:28Speaker 4: tell people all the time, they can release all the
- 17:30Speaker 4: depth charts they want. They show you the depth chart
- 17:32Speaker 4: every day out here. If you if you just pay
- 17:35Speaker 4: attention and use your little pen and write things down
- 17:37Speaker 4: and remember what was happening, it's right here, you know.
- 17:40Speaker 4: And he had been pushed back in the rotation.
- 17:45Speaker 5: So three oh three five O four nine two five
- 17:47Speaker 5: the Jeff Legwel at ESPN dot com Do you want
- 17:50Speaker 5: to do the double dip again today?
- 17:52Speaker 4: That's up to you, guys. Wait, wait, you said earlier
- 17:54Speaker 4: you're gonna let him go or not, so you control it.
- 17:56Speaker 4: He has You're the.
- 17:58Speaker 3: He's gonna stay, he's gonna stand at.
- 18:00Speaker 4: The grip on this. He's not letting you, he's not
- 18:03Speaker 4: letting you go.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Get more questions for Leggy.
- 18:08Speaker 4: No no, no, no no no, he said, like eight
- 18:11Speaker 4: no's I love that.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I said to the boys rode in this morning, Jeff
- 18:14Speaker 1: I said. If I was standing in his spot and
- 18:16Speaker 1: I was asked that question, I can see myself word
- 18:19Speaker 1: for word saying exactly what he said.
- 18:22Speaker 4: No no, no, no, no no.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Get back to this, No no, get back to this.
- 18:28Speaker 4: In just a second, I would say, only one of
- 18:30Speaker 4: us was in a tizzy and it wasn't ours back.
- 18:34Speaker 2: After this, you've got Mosuer Lombardi and Kane Li from
- 18:39Speaker 2: training camp and Broncos Park pretty well. On Altitude Sports
- 18:45Speaker 2: Radio five, he put the.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Rooklines all off the back and the charge.
- 18:51Speaker 1: But before it came out.
- 18:52Speaker 4: There was top out of a social media all that
- 18:54Speaker 4: you listened in number three, you.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Kind of noticed that the motion.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Anything like that.
- 18:58Speaker 3: I didn't care less.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Okay, so is that generally have the depth chart and
- 19:02Speaker 4: now you know you don't care how how you're listed.
- 19:05Speaker 4: At this point, I guess I couldn't go.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Bonix after a practice yesterday. As we're out here Broncos
- 19:13Speaker 5: Park powered by Common Spirit and a reminder one more
- 19:16Speaker 5: time to you guys. Following that thrilling penalty shootout win
- 19:19Speaker 5: on Monday night against Club Leon, the Rapids advanced the
- 19:23Speaker 5: round of thirty two in the League's Cup, and this
- 19:25Speaker 5: Friday they take on FC Horez at Dick Sporting Goods
- 19:29Speaker 5: Park at seven point thirty. Don't miss out on the
- 19:31Speaker 5: action tickets on sale.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Now you never spelled warres.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Oh, they got to figure that out themselves. And you
- 19:38Speaker 5: got a few more minutes. You want to pay the
- 19:39Speaker 5: tickets to go to that game on Friday, just text
- 19:41Speaker 5: Horez and your first and last name the three zero
- 19:44Speaker 5: three five four nine two five and you got a shot.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Some smart Alex also texted in the first word starting
- 19:50Speaker 1: with a w yep and and don't do that if
- 19:54Speaker 1: you want the tickets. To get the tickets, hey, real
- 19:56Speaker 1: quick on the on that Bonick stuff here, Jeff, I
- 20:00Speaker 1: don't mind it at all, because again the two other
- 20:03Speaker 1: guys were seemingly.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Happy tuning here.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I am. The other two guys were seemingly happy
- 20:07Speaker 1: go lucky. I mean Zach Wilson. You know, you could
- 20:09Speaker 1: run over his foot with a car and I think
- 20:11Speaker 1: he'd have a smile on his face. Right, But so
- 20:13Speaker 1: so Nix is there and.
- 20:15Speaker 4: He's done this for three years before he got here.
- 20:17Speaker 1: It's not but it was not a great day for
- 20:19Speaker 1: the offense again, blah blah blah. But I don't mind
- 20:22Speaker 1: that as one offs or whatever. I don't I want.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I want rookies to earn the right to be snippy.
- 20:30Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't I do I want them to, right,
- 20:36Speaker 4: I'm not bothered by I guess that.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I'm not really bothered by it. If that was if
- 20:42Speaker 1: that was habitual, I guess I'd be bothered. I mean,
- 20:44Speaker 1: I I don't think it is.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I will say I talked to him at the Senior
- 20:48Speaker 4: Bowl and he didn't like the question very much and
- 20:51Speaker 4: that was how he responded. Really, so, you know, some
- 20:56Speaker 4: guys are more intense than others. I think this is
- 20:59Speaker 4: like you would expect in any job. This is all
- 21:03Speaker 4: very new to him.
- 21:05Speaker 6: And you know, I don't played he played eight years
- 21:09Speaker 6: of college football.
- 21:10Speaker 4: He did play about four hundred and five years. But
- 21:14Speaker 4: I just you know, you know, we all live here.
- 21:19Speaker 4: People don't know what this is until they're in it,
- 21:21Speaker 4: and I see it over and over season after season. Coaches, players,
- 21:27Speaker 4: they don't understand what it's like here because in their
- 21:31Speaker 4: heads they often think, Okay, it's not New York, it's
- 21:35Speaker 4: not Dallas. I'll be good. And they get here and
- 21:38Speaker 4: they're like, holy crap, what is all this intensity about
- 21:42Speaker 4: the team? That's constant? And I think he's in that.
- 21:46Speaker 6: Right, But that's part of what our job is as
- 21:48Speaker 6: agents is to prepare players for different situations. Practice, go
- 21:52Speaker 6: through and and and not let them see a sweat.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Let's be honest, it's okay.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I think it's okay that we see him sweat once
- 21:58Speaker 4: in a while, but you know that it's in the discourse.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I think that it's okay. But I you know, he
- 22:04Speaker 4: probably got uh dinged a couple of times in practice
- 22:09Speaker 4: because they're riding him pretty good, and you know, maybe
- 22:13Speaker 4: it's wasn't a great day. None of us like to
- 22:15Speaker 4: be yelled at by our boss.
- 22:16Speaker 5: You know something else too, It's not like this is
- 22:19Speaker 5: New York or this isn't Toronto, and you're a Maple
- 22:22Speaker 5: Leaf reporter, you know what I mean?
- 22:23Speaker 3: Most like it's not, but.
- 22:26Speaker 4: You're undervaluing it. The late Mike Heimerdinger, God love him, uh,
- 22:32Speaker 4: Dinger always said, and he had called plays for the Jets,
- 22:35Speaker 4: so it was like he didn't know, and he had
- 22:38Speaker 4: been on all Shanny staffs here. But Dinger said this
- 22:41Speaker 4: was worse than New York because here there's no place
- 22:45Speaker 4: to take a break from it.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess that's like, if you're.
- 22:48Speaker 4: The New York Giants quarterback, you can go eat dinner
- 22:51Speaker 4: and soho, and there's ten thousand people don't give a
- 22:53Speaker 4: crap that you're the quarterback of the Giants.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's pretty that's pretty interesting. How do you manage
- 23:00Speaker 1: how do you manage locations for your clients? I mean
- 23:04Speaker 1: where they go, you know, being in Carolina right now,
- 23:07Speaker 1: it's probably pretty damn easy to hide when you're a
- 23:10Speaker 1: two and fifteen football team. Here. You can't hide as
- 23:13Speaker 1: a two and fifteen football team, well right, But that's.
- 23:16Speaker 6: All about preparing them, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, having
- 23:19Speaker 6: a relationship with the reporter, saying this guy, you could
- 23:22Speaker 6: trust this guy if he asked you a question.
- 23:25Speaker 4: You got to be careful this guy or girl.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I mean, I'm trying to me watch out for this
- 23:29Speaker 1: guy over here, like Jeff.
- 23:30Speaker 6: But no, there's certain people that are that build a
- 23:34Speaker 6: relationship that they you know, they're not going to try that.
- 23:37Speaker 6: They're not trying to get you right. There's some reporters
- 23:39Speaker 6: that want to get the gotcha moment right, and you know,
- 23:42Speaker 6: so you prepare them for that, but you do say,
- 23:45Speaker 6: don't let them see you a sweat. I mean, most
- 23:47Speaker 6: of the times we have issues is because a guy
- 23:49Speaker 6: loses cool and you can't and if you're gonna lose
- 23:51Speaker 6: his cool and a reporter, what are they gonna do
- 23:54Speaker 6: on the field?
- 23:55Speaker 5: What is in your mind, Leggy, what's the goal that
- 23:58Speaker 5: Sean Payton has for Sunday. What's the one thing that
- 24:01Speaker 5: you think like he wants to earmark and say I
- 24:03Speaker 5: need to see this.
- 24:04Speaker 4: I think he's from the you know, the old school perspective.
- 24:09Speaker 4: He wants to see see it clean. Yeah, whatever it is,
- 24:12Speaker 4: if it's a basic running play, he wants to see
- 24:15Speaker 4: it look how it's supposed to look.
- 24:16Speaker 6: He also wants to see ninety go on and ninety
- 24:18Speaker 6: come off. Yeah up exactly. Nobody get an extra time
- 24:23Speaker 6: with the trainer on.
- 24:24Speaker 1: The flight home, But see I also like that attitude
- 24:26Speaker 1: from Peyton that yeah, if you're if you're healthy enough,
- 24:30Speaker 1: you were going to play football.
- 24:31Speaker 4: He tears them again. But if you are healthy, you're
- 24:35Speaker 4: I've had that conversation with him. He has said, I
- 24:39Speaker 4: don't believe in just telling guys they're getting the preseason
- 24:42Speaker 4: opener off. Now that that third preseason game you may
- 24:46Speaker 4: not see a whole lot.
- 24:46Speaker 1: That's that's totally fine.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Like he would never he would never in a million
- 24:52Speaker 4: years do what the Bears did with Caleb Williams in
- 24:55Speaker 4: the Hall of Fame game. He would never tell the
- 24:57Speaker 4: guy immediately he's the starter, and he would ever tell
- 25:00Speaker 4: him you're getting the wave off out of the preseason opener.
- 25:04Speaker 4: He just wouldn't do it. Whether you know right or
- 25:06Speaker 4: wrong or whatever you think of it.
- 25:07Speaker 6: But Jeff, the wave practices are now these games mean
- 25:10Speaker 6: more because that's really the only time you're seeing guys
- 25:12Speaker 6: playing tackle.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Football, especially at quarterback. I mean we I think that
- 25:17Speaker 4: is one thing I've noticed with bow Nicks is anytime
- 25:23Speaker 4: the the pressure level in the pass rush gets dialed up,
- 25:27Speaker 4: there's some discomfort there and he's not It's still not
- 25:31Speaker 4: dialed up to what Peter's saying what it would be
- 25:33Speaker 4: in a game you're not getting hit, Yeah, but it
- 25:36Speaker 4: mean when he his struggles really amped up when they
- 25:41Speaker 4: went with the pads. The first two days the pads
- 25:44Speaker 4: were on, and the and the rushers could at least
- 25:47Speaker 4: buzz the tower as it were, they could at least
- 25:49Speaker 4: go by him close. So von Miller used to tell guys,
- 25:53Speaker 4: I got you as he went by.
- 25:55Speaker 1: But so you're saying, in his head, he has to
- 25:57Speaker 1: think that I would I would have gotten a hit.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I would hit right you gotta start. I would have
- 26:01Speaker 1: got smoked right.
- 26:02Speaker 4: There, you know, and people cheer and clap and everything.
- 26:04Speaker 4: But he was sacked two times before the completion.
- 26:07Speaker 6: I'd like to analogize playing quarterback to Lama's class. You
- 26:10Speaker 6: know they your wife's pregnant. You go to this class, Well,
- 26:12Speaker 6: this one is gonna feel like when you're pregnant. Well yeah, sure,
- 26:15Speaker 6: if you take a baseball bat hit, that's the only
- 26:17Speaker 6: way to truly replicate pregnancy. Yeah, the same thing with quarterback.
- 26:21Speaker 6: Guy could go back. He's playing seven to seven. He
- 26:23Speaker 6: got a red jersey on. It's not the same as been.
- 26:25Speaker 6: A guy named Deacon or Bubba comes and knocking in
- 26:28Speaker 6: the dirt.
- 26:28Speaker 5: I've always been curious about this too, especially like you
- 26:31Speaker 5: bring up the Hall of Fame game. So the NFL
- 26:33Speaker 5: used to have four preseason games where it'd be like, okay,
- 26:36Speaker 5: the stars.
- 26:36Speaker 4: When I first start covering the league.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Starters play a little bit in game one, then they
- 26:41Speaker 5: play a little bit more in game two, and then
- 26:42Speaker 5: it's like a dress rehearsal in week in game three,
- 26:44Speaker 5: and then they don't play in game four. But now
- 26:46Speaker 5: it's been cut down to three games, and it feels
- 26:49Speaker 5: like they're playing them less and less still, and I'm
- 26:51Speaker 5: just waiting, like when they moved to eighteen games and
- 26:54Speaker 5: they cut the preseason down to two, some.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Coach the hell they're gonna handle that.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Some coaches will.
- 26:58Speaker 6: Just defer well, but there are composition battles that are
- 27:02Speaker 6: gonna be one and lost on Sunday and then next Sunday.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Oh for sure. I'm like, what's.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Gonna vary by coaching stat There's many coaches who feel
- 27:11Speaker 4: the way Sean does, which is you have to play
- 27:12Speaker 4: football to be good at football.
- 27:14Speaker 3: And he reads one of them. He's playing the homes.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Really plays him, and I mean they don't play them
- 27:18Speaker 4: a lot, but they just want them to have the
- 27:20Speaker 4: mindset you don't get the night off.
- 27:22Speaker 1: And it's funny because the day that estimate smoked that
- 27:25Speaker 1: safety right and the crowd goes woo, all that kind
- 27:29Speaker 1: of thing. And I came in the next day I
- 27:30Speaker 1: said to Brad, I said, can you imagine that people
- 27:33Speaker 1: jacked up because a football player hit another football player
- 27:37Speaker 1: practicing the game of football. And we're all like, oh
- 27:40Speaker 1: my god, I can't believe it. It was a couple
- 27:42Speaker 1: of years ago when Campbell first got there, and we're
- 27:45Speaker 1: watching Hard Knocks, right, and this is hackett, this is
- 27:48Speaker 1: hackets here, hackets ye start a hackets here, And the
- 27:51Speaker 1: first four minutes of Hard Knocks Episode one, these guys
- 27:55Speaker 1: are putting their dudes in the dirt, and I'm like,
- 27:58Speaker 1: oh my god, I know it isn't because some of
- 28:00Speaker 1: you're shockingly different. Yeah, because out here nobody even breathed
- 28:03Speaker 1: on anybody. But I saw more tackling in the or
- 28:06Speaker 1: more hitting in the first four minutes of that first episode.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Then I saw all training camp for the Denver Broncos,
- 28:12Speaker 1: And I don't know which philosophy is the best philosophy, Peter,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I don't know what your players like. But I would
- 28:17Speaker 1: imagine some guys they want to get the feel of
- 28:20Speaker 1: bashing another guy's face.
- 28:21Speaker 6: You got to do it, because then you can't go
- 28:23Speaker 6: from zero to hunter on the first Sunday. I remember
- 28:25Speaker 6: last year when Joe Burrows pulled his calf muscle and
- 28:27Speaker 6: the Bengals like, oh, I'm my good now that he
- 28:29Speaker 6: got hurt.
- 28:30Speaker 4: He can't get injured, right, yeah, oh good boy. That's
- 28:33Speaker 4: I mean, And that's the issue we would love to
- 28:36Speaker 4: you know, or there's a certain segment of folks that
- 28:38Speaker 4: just want him to crash into each other all the time.
- 28:41Speaker 4: You'd make it season with like ten guys.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want that, but there's got to be
- 28:45Speaker 1: there's gotta be a ramp up.
- 28:46Speaker 4: When I covered the Chuck Knowles last year Pittsburgh, they
- 28:49Speaker 4: did the Oklahoma drill on the first day of training camp,
- 28:52Speaker 4: which I can't even imagine.
- 28:54Speaker 6: And they used to do the goal line drill at
- 28:56Speaker 6: the end of each practice in Pittsburgh, I mean, and
- 28:58Speaker 6: they were live hitting. Mark Shotneimer his September record is
- 29:01Speaker 6: probably better than anybody in the league because they hit
- 29:04Speaker 6: and practice and the December was probably not good and
- 29:06Speaker 6: them to right, and they loose the Broncos every year. Whatever.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Yeah, you just couldn't live that way now. I mean,
- 29:14Speaker 4: I think he tries very hard to have as much
- 29:17Speaker 4: of a mix as like, he takes it right to
- 29:19Speaker 4: the edge and then he brings them back. And Mike
- 29:22Speaker 4: Mike was the same way when he was here. They
- 29:24Speaker 4: they would always have a live goal line period the
- 29:27Speaker 4: second week in camp and sometimes it would be twelve
- 29:30Speaker 4: plays long. Sometimes he'd see three plays and say that's enough,
- 29:34Speaker 4: but it's.
- 29:35Speaker 6: Well, the great coaches have that that that you gotta yeah,
- 29:38Speaker 6: the thermometer or whatever, the pulse and you know how
- 29:41Speaker 6: hard to play Hockey's the same way. I mean in
- 29:43Speaker 6: the exhibition games, how often you play the guys to
- 29:45Speaker 6: get him.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Just a couple usually the last exhibition game most everybody plays, right,
- 29:51Speaker 1: you know. Again, you don't want to get the Week
- 29:53Speaker 1: one with having a couple of guys out of the lineup.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And I dig that, But I mean football is a
- 29:57Speaker 1: violent games.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Peters hard though. It's hard to go from shells regular
- 30:03Speaker 4: season week one, you know, especially a quarterback if you
- 30:07Speaker 4: were a you know, I think that's why in some
- 30:12Speaker 4: way bo Nicks may end up with more preseason snaps
- 30:15Speaker 4: than he would in another preseason because he's I think
- 30:19Speaker 4: I think they've seen what you know. I know, i'm
- 30:22Speaker 4: a little teamy the sports writer, but I can see
- 30:25Speaker 4: the discomfort when anytime they install anything new. Yesterday was
- 30:30Speaker 4: an install day for the pass rush, and the discomfort
- 30:33Speaker 4: was plainly evident. The discomfort was evident the first day
- 30:37Speaker 4: of pads. But so I think they got to get
- 30:40Speaker 4: that out of them in some way.
- 30:41Speaker 6: That was I remember maybe eight nine years ago, the
- 30:45Speaker 6: Broncos first game was in Miami, Sunday, one o'clock game,
- 30:49Speaker 6: and they went from no humidity eighty degree, melted and
- 30:53Speaker 6: those guys melted. I mean they were getting ivs at
- 30:56Speaker 6: halftime and they were done because they were not used
- 30:58Speaker 6: to playing seventy plays one o'clock Miami in September.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Yeah, ninety five, ninety five day.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Well, here's the.
- 31:06Speaker 5: Other thing, Peter, you were talking about this yesterday. You said,
- 31:09Speaker 5: every year people talk about quarterback battles. How many true
- 31:12Speaker 5: battles are there and there's only a couple. You know,
- 31:15Speaker 5: Pittsburgh's got one right now with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
- 31:18Speaker 3: How much do you think.
- 31:19Speaker 5: These preseason games matter for bow Knicks and Jared Stiam
- 31:21Speaker 5: on who's going to be the starter week one? Do
- 31:24Speaker 5: you think there's a pretty good idea of who's starting,
- 31:26Speaker 5: but can it change?
- 31:26Speaker 4: He would like Bnicks to be the starter because the
- 31:29Speaker 4: developmental curve fits better. But yeah, I mean I think
- 31:34Speaker 4: you know, interceptions are gonna matter. You know, yeah, they're
- 31:40Speaker 4: going to Did you.
- 31:40Speaker 6: Make the argument the developmental curve would be better if
- 31:42Speaker 6: he doesn't have to start the first four games?
- 31:44Speaker 4: I would say that that. My personal opinion is very
- 31:47Speaker 4: few of them are ever ready right away.
- 31:50Speaker 6: But see what would happen though, is if he doesn't
- 31:53Speaker 6: start the first four games and they go one to three,
- 31:55Speaker 6: then Sean is screwed. Yeah, he's got to make sure
- 31:58Speaker 6: Stidham can get him.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Into it to I think part of the decision even
- 32:02Speaker 4: Shawn's not talking about is they've spent an awful lot
- 32:06Speaker 4: of this offseason trying to figure out how not to
- 32:10Speaker 4: start like last year. And he's even changed the structure
- 32:13Speaker 4: of some practices to that end. They changed some of
- 32:17Speaker 4: their ota stuff, but they've made changes because it was
- 32:21Speaker 4: on their mind. Two things Peyton reviewed the most in
- 32:25Speaker 4: the off season where there was their red zone, particularly
- 32:29Speaker 4: inside the ten where they were like thirtieth in the
- 32:32Speaker 4: league and their first month and a half of this.
- 32:37Speaker 7: Look at the schedule, it's a tour, and we have
- 32:43Speaker 7: to remember they're staying on the road between Tampa and
- 32:47Speaker 7: New York.
- 32:48Speaker 4: They're staying on the road.
- 32:50Speaker 1: They knew they would. I told you, I knew they would.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Because he did not want to go back and forth
- 32:54Speaker 4: for too early. In fact, they asked the league. They
- 32:58Speaker 4: asked the league give us back to back Eastern time
- 33:02Speaker 4: zone games whenever we play New York. What's what?
- 33:06Speaker 1: But what's what's? What's the percentage of teams going west
- 33:09Speaker 1: to East playing that early game, even if you're a
- 33:12Speaker 1: good team, what's the percentage that team loses? Is it
- 33:14Speaker 1: like seventy four percent?
- 33:17Speaker 4: Your quarterback, did you just make that number?
- 33:19Speaker 1: No, I swore, I swear to god, you.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Just made it. My wife Peters right, seventy three and
- 33:27Speaker 4: you were so definitive. That's the thing. You've done that
- 33:30Speaker 4: to me before.
- 33:30Speaker 3: He sold it hard speaks confidently, you.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Say it loud with a clipboard. Well, you're the man.
- 33:35Speaker 3: As he looks it up. Just to remind people, this
- 33:37Speaker 3: is the.
- 33:37Speaker 4: First seventy four I'm done.
- 33:38Speaker 1: This is the.
- 33:41Speaker 5: This is the first four weeks of their schedule. It's
- 33:43Speaker 5: at Seattle, which on the opener is going to be
- 33:45Speaker 5: tough as hell.
- 33:46Speaker 4: That and please tell me the last time they played
- 33:49Speaker 4: good there. I'll wait here, Brian Bosworth.
- 33:53Speaker 5: The second game is Pittsburgh at home, which is going
- 33:56Speaker 5: to be the Russell Wilson home coming in and.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Mike Tomlin falls out of bed and wins ten. That's
- 34:00Speaker 4: how it works. It doesn't matter what the roster is.
- 34:02Speaker 4: He hasn't thought about it. He's a great coach. It's
- 34:04Speaker 4: awesome coach. And I don't mean to cheap in it,
- 34:06Speaker 4: but he's never had a losing record.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Just come on, here's the spread. This is this is
- 34:12Speaker 1: the best I got.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Pacific to those teams or they're not a Pacific coach.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I know, I know a Mountain team.
- 34:18Speaker 4: How you lived here? You just made up the Mountain park.
- 34:21Speaker 4: It's Pacific.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Let me let me see this, then you take it
- 34:25Speaker 1: with what you will. Traveling to the Mountain time zone,
- 34:29Speaker 1: they have a forty two point nine against the spread
- 34:32Speaker 1: win rates, traveling to the Central time zone a thirty
- 34:35Speaker 1: eight point one, and traveling to the Eastern time zone
- 34:37Speaker 1: a twenty nine point six percent against the spread win rate.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Let me ask you what was it when Manning was
- 34:43Speaker 4: the quarterback?
- 34:44Speaker 1: One hundred percent? Actually was probably about eighty four percent.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Yeah, when Manning was thrown to DT what was the percent?
- 34:50Speaker 1: Is pretty damn good, Pretty damn good the last two here.
- 34:53Speaker 4: But that's against the spread, not winning and losing. Right,
- 34:56Speaker 4: that's correct, because your money, I'll find it. Your money, guys,
- 35:00Speaker 4: roll knuckleheads to spring some stats.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I will, I'll get it.
- 35:03Speaker 5: Week three is at Tampa, which is going to be
- 35:06Speaker 5: hot as hell in Tampa, by the way, divisional playoff
- 35:08Speaker 5: team last year made it.
- 35:09Speaker 4: And again what Peter's talking about September and Florida and
- 35:13Speaker 4: the last time they went there it was like the
- 35:15Speaker 4: end of the world. Thunderstorm came, the lightning delay. It
- 35:19Speaker 4: was pitch black in the middle of the day.
- 35:22Speaker 5: And then Week four is at the Jets when they're
- 35:25Speaker 5: still healthy Aaron Rodgers.
- 35:27Speaker 4: They're staying out for that, like those those kinds of
- 35:29Speaker 4: trips either go great or they they don't.
- 35:32Speaker 3: That four week stretch is total.
- 35:35Speaker 6: Can they be two and two then if I think,
- 35:37Speaker 6: if if they're fortunate, they're two and two, right, But
- 35:40Speaker 6: that's the question. Is so if you start Stittam and
- 35:42Speaker 6: you go one and three, it's different if boicks. You
- 35:45Speaker 6: know you're talking about it, and you know coaches always
- 35:47Speaker 6: talk about the big problem is Okay, if you start
- 35:50Speaker 6: Nicks right away and it doesn't go well, you can't
- 35:53Speaker 6: pull them out and put them back in. Now you've
- 35:55Speaker 6: set back the developmental clock even more. But Mike, just
- 36:00Speaker 6: the vibe and my gut here being around here is
- 36:03Speaker 6: that they really like him to start week one so
- 36:07Speaker 6: we earn they got au, they got us.
- 36:10Speaker 4: That's why these games. What we should do is take
- 36:12Speaker 4: a break so he can figure out if the.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Leggy Thanks for the time, buddy.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Thanks fellows, You guys are great.
