- 2:00Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. You are listening to the voice, Come.
- 2:03Speaker 3: On dig me now, one and only. Steve Harvey got
- 2:07Speaker 3: a radio show man.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Oh man, oh man? How many times I got to
- 2:12Speaker 1: say that before I get tired of it. I think
- 2:16Speaker 1: it's gonna be a minute, folks. I gotta be real
- 2:18Speaker 1: with you, because boy, that's Steve Harvey, got a radio
- 2:21Speaker 1: show man. Clear indication of how God can do some unexpected,
- 2:29Speaker 1: wonderful things for you, how he leads your life in
- 2:33Speaker 1: directions that you never ever saw coming. You know, I
- 2:35Speaker 1: was talking with somebody the other day and they were
- 2:38Speaker 1: talking about how man, they were young, and they were
- 2:41Speaker 1: doing things, and they never knew that the things that
- 2:44Speaker 1: they were doing as a youngster would come and help
- 2:49Speaker 1: help form who they were today as an adult. This
- 2:52Speaker 1: gui is fifty years old, and you know the same
- 2:56Speaker 1: thing for you. If you look back on your life
- 2:59Speaker 1: and all of the things that you've done, it helped
- 3:02Speaker 1: shape you into who you are now. This is provided
- 3:06Speaker 1: now that you take the positive approach. Now when I
- 3:10Speaker 1: say look back at your life and see what you've done,
- 3:13Speaker 1: that doesn't mean dwell on the misfortunate moments. Because the
- 3:16Speaker 1: misfortunate moments were necessary. I know it's hard to see
- 3:20Speaker 1: that when it's happening to you, but the unfortunate moments
- 3:24Speaker 1: are necessary. You know, what really makes you appreciate summer
- 3:29Speaker 1: vacation is winter work. What really makes you appreciate a
- 3:34Speaker 1: walk on the beach is when it's cold, is raining outside.
- 3:38Speaker 1: What really makes you appreciate when you're up, it's because
- 3:43Speaker 1: you've been down. See if you were up all the time,
- 3:47Speaker 1: just the nature of us as human beings, we would
- 3:50Speaker 1: lose our appreciation for it because it becomes case hurrah,
- 3:54Speaker 1: whatever it is, Well, it is what it is. I'm
- 3:56Speaker 1: just what what you take it for? Granted, it becomes expected.
- 4:01Speaker 1: But what happens in life s is it has so
- 4:03Speaker 1: many twisting turns, and then you learn how to deal
- 4:06Speaker 1: with those twisting turns, which makes you now a more
- 4:09Speaker 1: experienced person. And then when the sunny days come, man,
- 4:13Speaker 1: you go wild. It's really nice outside. You really want
- 4:15Speaker 1: to appreciate how warm weather. Just stay in a bunch
- 4:18Speaker 1: of cold weather all the time.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm just this is really simpler now, a lot of analogies,
- 4:25Speaker 1: but it helps you along the way. Now here's what
- 4:28Speaker 1: I came to say today to everybody out there. And
- 4:31Speaker 1: this has helped me in my life. I can't tell
- 4:34Speaker 1: you what it's done for me, but a lot of
- 4:38Speaker 1: people are struggling with moving forward with their future, their
- 4:43Speaker 1: future plans, their future goals, their future aspirations, their future hopes,
- 4:50Speaker 1: their future dreams, just simply your future wants. A lot
- 4:55Speaker 1: of people trying to have a hard time mapping out
- 4:58Speaker 1: their future. Even what I'm gonna do, what I'm gonna be,
- 5:02Speaker 1: what I'm gonna make, how I'm or go about it?
- 5:05Speaker 1: What do I do next? I want to share something
- 5:08Speaker 1: with you that I had to come to terms with.
- 5:11Speaker 1: The quickest way to lose focus on your future is
- 5:15Speaker 1: to keep focusing on your past. You know, It's like
- 5:19Speaker 1: I said at the beginning, You know when I say,
- 5:21Speaker 1: it's wonderful to look at your life and review it,
- 5:24Speaker 1: because if you look at it, it'll tell you it
- 5:28Speaker 1: really helped shape inform you today as the person you
- 5:31Speaker 1: are now. If you look at it in a positive sense.
- 5:35Speaker 1: But if you dwell in harp on the negative that's
- 5:38Speaker 1: happened to you, then that keeps you from seeing the
- 5:42Speaker 1: good in the incident, every bad thing that's happened to you,
- 5:46Speaker 1: that was a silver lining behind it. I know people
- 5:49Speaker 1: who were on drugs who finally, man just got sent
- 5:52Speaker 1: to prison for stealing because of their habit. I know
- 5:55Speaker 1: cat that's sold dope. Well, he went to prison. He
- 5:59Speaker 1: told me one time, he says Steve. He said, man,
- 6:02Speaker 1: this is the best thing ever happened to me to
- 6:04Speaker 1: save my life. Now, most people would think, how in
- 6:07Speaker 1: the world is going to prison helpful for you? The
- 6:10Speaker 1: brother said, it saved my life. First of all, it
- 6:14Speaker 1: got me clean. He said, I've been clean for five
- 6:17Speaker 1: years from sitting in here. That's for starters. I'm clean.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I ain't stealing no more. I ain't putting myself in jeopardy,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and I ain't jeopardizing nobody else.
- 6:26Speaker 3: He said.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Now, man, I done went to college I done got
- 6:30Speaker 1: a college degree while I'm in here. Then he was
- 6:33Speaker 1: released from prison, and the brother's life was completely turned around.
- 6:38Speaker 1: He married, he got a family, he got a great job.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He go to work every day. He's a productive citizen.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I mean.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So he looks back on his incarceration, even his drug abuse,
- 6:52Speaker 1: and it taught him how to appreciate the things in
- 6:55Speaker 1: life that he had taken for granted and was missing
- 6:57Speaker 1: because he said, man, my life was just in a
- 6:59Speaker 1: blood I didn't even know what was going on. He said,
- 7:03Speaker 1: Now I appreciate every day I wake up. That's what
- 7:06Speaker 1: I mean. Even in your missteps in life, there is
- 7:10Speaker 1: a purpose for the missteps.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Every time you fail, there was a reason for the failure.
- 7:16Speaker 1: See what I had to do was I had to
- 7:19Speaker 1: learn that all of my failures taught me how to
- 7:21Speaker 1: get back up. So I became a very strong and
- 7:25Speaker 1: tough person in getting back up. And then I was
- 7:28Speaker 1: down and out so long that it taught me how
- 7:31Speaker 1: to really appreciate that up. And so I've taken all
- 7:35Speaker 1: of that and used it those experiences that happened to me,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and I became a more experienced person. So next time
- 7:43Speaker 1: when people talk about me, who don't know me. It
- 7:46Speaker 1: don't shake me, cause everybody not gonna like you. Man,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you might as well go and get on this train
- 7:52Speaker 1: right now. And so what I'm saying to you out
- 7:55Speaker 1: there is the quickest way to lose focus on your
- 7:58Speaker 1: future is to keep focusing on your past.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Let it go.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, he left. Sometimes the breakup is the blessing.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I know it's hard to break up because now you're
- 8:08Speaker 1: loaning you by yourself. But man, but wasn't you in
- 8:11Speaker 1: misery when you was in that? Weren't you in complete
- 8:15Speaker 1: misery in that? Now you kept asking God to fix it.
- 8:19Speaker 1: But it take two people to fix a relationship. It
- 8:22Speaker 1: don't just take one. It take two to make a
- 8:25Speaker 1: thing go right. It take two to make it out
- 8:28Speaker 1: of sight. You really do have to have two people
- 8:32Speaker 1: wanting a relationship to work. It can't just be one
- 8:34Speaker 1: person won a relationship. So you can pray about the
- 8:37Speaker 1: relationship all you want. If the other person don't want
- 8:40Speaker 1: you no more, it ain't gonna act right. You can't
- 8:42Speaker 1: make him do that or you can't make her do that.
- 8:46Speaker 1: But you steady asking God for a new relationship. But
- 8:51Speaker 1: you are yet to be grateful that you are in
- 8:54Speaker 1: a position to have a relationship, and you keep harping
- 8:57Speaker 1: on the past.
- 8:58Speaker 3: You don't think you hear that. I'm just a dude
- 9:01Speaker 3: with a show and I hear it all the time.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Let it go go forward. It's over. You made it,
- 9:08Speaker 3: He bought you through it, you conquered, you survived it.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Why are you dwelling on it and making it the
- 9:15Speaker 1: cross around your neck when clearly he had removed it
- 9:19Speaker 1: for you.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Now, all you got to do is come on.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So if you sit behind them walls, brothers and sisters,
- 9:25Speaker 1: I'm talking directly to you sometimes.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Man, you just got to get it right. All this
- 9:31Speaker 3: repeat of fender business, that's for? Who is that for?
- 9:34Speaker 1: How ignorant can you be to keep giving your life
- 9:38Speaker 1: back to the penal system? Be free, man, walk the streets,
- 9:41Speaker 1: do the right thing. Ask God to help connect you.
- 9:44Speaker 1: He could do anything. You think he can't give you
- 9:47Speaker 1: a job? Are you serious?
- 9:48Speaker 2: Man?
- 9:49Speaker 3: Put some faith on it. Let's move forward, y'all. Let
- 9:51Speaker 3: it go.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Let's move here. Listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
