- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawtrel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Howtral energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Welcome back to another episode. Life has been very busy.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Like so so busy.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I cannot believe how much has happened these past two weeks.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Just from not even recording an episode, I.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Feel like I'm feeling a little burnt out, not gonna lie,
- 0:43Speaker 1: but obviously I'm just like trying to take one step
- 0:46Speaker 1: at a time and like obviously realize how grateful I
- 0:48Speaker 1: am for everything that has happened these past two weeks,
- 0:51Speaker 1: but also just like kind of take a step back
- 0:55Speaker 1: and like, yeah, just like make other things kind of
- 0:57Speaker 1: a priority. But I am back this week. I'm so
- 1:02Speaker 1: sorry that I did not record an episode last week.
- 1:04Speaker 1: If you listened to the episode before this, then you
- 1:06Speaker 1: will know that I took last week off because it
- 1:09Speaker 1: was my husband's thirtieth birthday and I decided to spend
- 1:13Speaker 1: the week just kind of like prepping things for our
- 1:16Speaker 1: trip this weekend. We were in Toronto this past weekend,
- 1:19Speaker 1: and I surprised him with a trip to Toronto with
- 1:24Speaker 1: Jay's tickets for the home opener and just honestly like
- 1:28Speaker 1: a little weekend trip him and I.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And he was so surprised.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He was so grateful, and he just really really appreciated
- 1:34Speaker 1: the nice gesture that I did for his thirtieth I
- 1:38Speaker 1: of course wanted to go full out, just because obviously
- 1:40Speaker 1: turning thirty is such a big deal. And my husband's
- 1:43Speaker 1: that kind of person where he never wants the attention
- 1:46Speaker 1: to be around him, Like he's always like, no, I
- 1:49Speaker 1: don't want anything, or I don't want to party.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I don't you know.
- 1:52Speaker 1: He's like kind of also got a little bit of
- 1:53Speaker 1: social anxiety, which is so fine, and he's like, you know,
- 1:57Speaker 1: I just don't really want a big party, Like I
- 1:59Speaker 1: just kind of want something, you know, that's more his vibe.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Like he said, I just want something that I love
- 2:04Speaker 1: and that will make me happy.
- 2:05Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay.
- 2:06Speaker 1: This is where I did my deep digging and research
- 2:09Speaker 1: and found out that the Blue Jays had their home
- 2:11Speaker 1: opener the.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Weekend of his birthday, which is so wild.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So I immediately bought home opener tickets and he was
- 2:19Speaker 1: so happy when we were there, like he's like, this
- 2:22Speaker 1: is such a dream. And obviously the Jays did so
- 2:24Speaker 1: well last year making it to the World Series, and yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 1: he just like has such a.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Huge love for the sport.
- 2:31Speaker 1: He's been a Jays fan for years, Like this is
- 2:33Speaker 1: not something he just jumped on last year. Like he's
- 2:36Speaker 1: been loving the Jays since he was like a teenager.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I think another thing that just kind of plays a
- 2:41Speaker 1: huge factor into that is that Zach had a very
- 2:43Speaker 1: close relationship with his grandma, who recently actually passed away
- 2:48Speaker 1: this pass ball and his grandma and him would watch
- 2:50Speaker 1: the Blue Jays games together. Sometimes he would go over,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you know, she would cook us dinner and they would
- 2:55Speaker 1: watch the Jay's game together.
- 2:56Speaker 2: So it's just kind of like a special bond. When
- 2:59Speaker 2: he was sixteen and his.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Grandma took him and his brother to see his first
- 3:03Speaker 1: Jays game in person. So he just has a very
- 3:05Speaker 1: close bond to like the Jays. And since his grandma's passing,
- 3:08Speaker 1: I feel like he's made it a bigger priority to
- 3:11Speaker 1: at ten more games and watch every single game because
- 3:14Speaker 1: like that's something that he had with his.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Grandma, like a little relationship that they had with that.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So I think this game was just like really special
- 3:22Speaker 1: in that sense as well, not even just about like
- 3:24Speaker 1: his birthday, but like you know, just being at the
- 3:27Speaker 1: home opener and like having that opportunity, I think just
- 3:29Speaker 1: meant so much to him, and I'm so grateful that
- 3:32Speaker 1: I was able to do that with him. I think
- 3:34Speaker 1: that was just such a fun weekend, and I love
- 3:37Speaker 1: the Jays. I think it's such a fun activity to do.
- 3:40Speaker 1: If you live in Toronto, or even if you live
- 3:43Speaker 1: in a city that has MLB games, I highly recommend
- 3:47Speaker 1: going to a baseball game. They're so entertaining and I
- 3:50Speaker 1: don't know, I have really grown to love the sport.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I think in the beginning, when I.
- 3:54Speaker 1: First started dating my husband, I thought it was boring
- 3:56Speaker 1: and I had no interest in really watching theme. But
- 4:00Speaker 1: now I actually really enjoy it and I understand it.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And I've played with Zach, you know, baseball throughout the
- 4:07Speaker 1: years because he's grown up to play the sport and he.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Just really loves the sport.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So I just am grateful that I was able to
- 4:13Speaker 1: do that with him for his thirtieth birthday. So that's
- 4:15Speaker 1: what kind of happened this past weekend. Being in Toronto
- 4:18Speaker 1: was so fun. I always love seeing the Toronto girls.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I met so many of you guys on the street,
- 4:23Speaker 1: in shops at the hotel, Like, it was so fun
- 4:26Speaker 1: just to meet so many of you, and you guys
- 4:27Speaker 1: come up to me and say hi. So I always
- 4:30Speaker 1: appreciate when you guys say something to me. It means
- 4:32Speaker 1: the world to me. So not only did we have
- 4:35Speaker 1: Toronto this weekend for Zach's birthday, but I also had
- 4:39Speaker 1: a house appointment that we got to go through and
- 4:41Speaker 1: walk through our entire house for the very first time,
- 4:45Speaker 1: which was such a surreal feeling seeing things come to life.
- 4:49Speaker 2: You know, there's been so many design updates.
- 4:51Speaker 1: With like the archways and the electrical and the plumbing
- 4:55Speaker 1: and just kind of seeing the house fully framed and anyways.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It was just like such an excited walk through. And
- 5:01Speaker 1: we actually have our house set up to be drywalled
- 5:04Speaker 1: in like a week or two, which is wild that
- 5:07Speaker 1: they're already getting to that point.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So things are moving fast.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And we technically move into our new place in like
- 5:13Speaker 1: four months, which is so wild. So we're very excited
- 5:17Speaker 1: to yeah be in that new place and I feel
- 5:21Speaker 1: like my mind has definitely been really focusing on house stuff,
- 5:25Speaker 1: but also birthday party stuff, because if you guys know
- 5:28Speaker 1: my birthdays this weekend, i am turning thirty. Zach and
- 5:31Speaker 1: I are eleven days apart, we're both aries, and I'm
- 5:34Speaker 1: having a big thirtieth birthday party this weekend, and I'm
- 5:37Speaker 1: so freaking excited about it, And so I really wanted
- 5:41Speaker 1: to make this episode about me, kind of chatting about
- 5:44Speaker 1: things that I've learned throughout my twenties. It hasn't really
- 5:47Speaker 1: soaked in yet that I'm turning thirty in like four days,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and I'm very excited to turn thirty.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Like, I am very, very excited, but.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I also feel like there's a part of me where
- 5:56Speaker 1: it's kind of sad and scary to like know that
- 6:00Speaker 1: I'm leaving my twenties, because, you know, even though your
- 6:03Speaker 1: twenties are such a interesting time in your life, like,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I feel like my twenties was really a rollercoaster of
- 6:11Speaker 1: everything in terms of like figuring out my career, figuring
- 6:14Speaker 1: out my shit, you know, just like different things that
- 6:18Speaker 1: happened for so many different reasons, and I'm you know,
- 6:20Speaker 1: very grateful for the things that did happen in my life.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And I got married in my twenties, I got engaged,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I got a dog, I got a house, I bought
- 6:27Speaker 1: my first house. Like so much excitement and like beginnings
- 6:32Speaker 1: happened in my twenties, and I think, you know, I
- 6:35Speaker 1: feel like it was such a special time in my life,
- 6:38Speaker 1: and I feel so grateful for the opportunities that I had.
- 6:41Speaker 2: But I know there's going to be.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Even more opportunities and more excitement and new beginnings in
- 6:46Speaker 1: my thirties as well. So I think it's just a
- 6:48Speaker 1: bittersweet feeling. And I just like still can't believe that
- 6:53Speaker 1: I'm entering this decade, Like where has the time gone.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So I'm really excited to celebrate my birthday this weekend.
- 6:58Speaker 1: My birthdays on the fourth, which is actually on the Saturday,
- 7:01Speaker 1: so I'm having the party the Saturday night. It's also
- 7:04Speaker 1: Easter weekend, which it just so happened that my birthday
- 7:07Speaker 1: fell on Easter this year, but that's okay. So I'm
- 7:10Speaker 1: really excited for you guys to see the photos and
- 7:13Speaker 1: the videos.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I did a whole theme.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I went full out with decorations, and we hired a
- 7:18Speaker 1: live band, and anyway, it's going to be so fun,
- 7:21Speaker 1: So make sure to follow me on Instagram and TikTok
- 7:24Speaker 1: if you want to see the party come to life.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So I wrote out a few lessons that I personally
- 7:31Speaker 1: feel like it really hit me in my twenties and
- 7:35Speaker 1: things that I've learned throughout the way, and I just
- 7:38Speaker 1: kind of wanted to share some like real life experiences
- 7:42Speaker 1: that happened in my twenties that I learned from or
- 7:46Speaker 1: things that just kind of like opened my eyes about
- 7:49Speaker 1: certain situations and knowing that that's okay that those things happened.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And I feel like throughout these past ten years in
- 7:56Speaker 1: the beginning, there's obviously like a different journey in my
- 7:59Speaker 1: early twenties versus my late twenties. And I feel like
- 8:03Speaker 1: probably these last four years, like from twenty six to
- 8:06Speaker 1: twenty nine, I would say I've learned a lot more.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Than I did in the beginning of my twenties.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And I feel like in the beginning of my twenties,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I was really trying to figure out my life. And
- 8:16Speaker 1: I think that's very normal, and some people figure out
- 8:19Speaker 1: their life in their later twenties. It really just depends
- 8:22Speaker 1: on the person. But kind of just wanted to share
- 8:24Speaker 1: my story and the lessons that I've learned throughout these
- 8:28Speaker 1: past ten years. In my early twenties, I was in college.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I got my marketing degree and was really focused on business,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and I at that point had no idea what I
- 8:42Speaker 1: was going to do with my life. Like I know
- 8:43Speaker 1: for a fact, I had no idea what my job
- 8:46Speaker 1: was going to be. I had no idea what my
- 8:48Speaker 1: career path was going to be. All I knew is
- 8:50Speaker 1: that I loved marketing and I loved being in the
- 8:54Speaker 1: business side of things, but I didn't know.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Like what kind of business side. Right.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Of course, there's like so many job positions that you
- 9:00Speaker 1: can get in the business field, obviously specifically in the
- 9:03Speaker 1: marketing as well. There's like different positions in the marketing
- 9:06Speaker 1: field that you could do. So I felt like after
- 9:09Speaker 1: college I was very lost in the sense where I didn't.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Really know what I wanted to do with my life.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And I remember the first job that I ever got
- 9:21Speaker 1: was a serving job back in the day, and this
- 9:24Speaker 1: was like before college, and then I worked at Michael
- 9:28Speaker 1: Corer's during my college days.
- 9:30Speaker 2: They were very big then.
- 9:31Speaker 1: So for me, like that job was so cool, Like
- 9:33Speaker 1: I was so happy I had that job, but I
- 9:35Speaker 1: knew it wasn't my forever job, Like I knew that
- 9:37Speaker 1: wasn't like my future plans.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And then once I.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Was done college, I ended up working for my dad's
- 9:45Speaker 1: company because again I didn't really know what I wanted
- 9:48Speaker 1: to do with my life, so I thought that was
- 9:49Speaker 1: the best place to start, and my dad was giving
- 9:51Speaker 1: me the opportunity of trying out different positions. So at
- 9:54Speaker 1: one point I was a buyer, so I was helping
- 9:57Speaker 1: purchase things for the store, and then I I decided
- 10:00Speaker 1: to go down the marketing side and help the marketing
- 10:03Speaker 1: team where I was helping with visuals and social media posts.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And all that.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And then after that I went down the project management
- 10:10Speaker 1: route where I was essentially managing projects of them building
- 10:13Speaker 1: stores across Canada. So I really kind of jumped around,
- 10:16Speaker 1: not really knowing what I was going to do. I
- 10:18Speaker 1: remember in this point in my life, I was very
- 10:21Speaker 1: lost in the sense where I felt like I didn't
- 10:23Speaker 1: like anything, Like I really did not love any position
- 10:26Speaker 1: that I did. I felt like an office job just
- 10:29Speaker 1: wasn't for me. I felt like it wasn't something that
- 10:32Speaker 1: I was really passionate about. It wasn't something that you know,
- 10:35Speaker 1: made me feel good showing up to.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Work every single day. And I feel like when you
- 10:39Speaker 2: love your job.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You're very motivated, You're very driven, and like you want
- 10:43Speaker 1: to do better at it because you love it so much.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And I just felt like every position that I did
- 10:48Speaker 1: with that company, nothing was serving me.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Like I could just tell that my body was not
- 10:54Speaker 2: wanting this, you know what I mean.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It was almost like trying to push it away, where
- 10:57Speaker 1: it's like this isn't for you, Like you need to
- 10:59Speaker 1: figure out something else. Like felt like there was just
- 11:01Speaker 1: like signs that things weren't working out for me in
- 11:04Speaker 1: that type of position. So I felt like I had
- 11:06Speaker 1: to do something different and that I had to make
- 11:08Speaker 1: a change. And this is where my social media and
- 11:11Speaker 1: influencer journey kind of started. When you know, my job
- 11:15Speaker 1: kind of took a step back with COVID and I
- 11:18Speaker 1: couldn't really do much, which I think, honestly was like
- 11:21Speaker 1: a sign in a sense where it's like I couldn't
- 11:24Speaker 1: do the job that was happening, so I had to
- 11:26Speaker 1: do something else and take action. And I felt like
- 11:30Speaker 1: influencing was my calling, Like I felt like that was something.
- 11:32Speaker 2: That I loved so so much.
- 11:34Speaker 1: And I've always been into following YouTubers and instagrammers, and
- 11:38Speaker 1: I just never thought it would be something for me.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But at that time, that's when they released reels and
- 11:44Speaker 1: TikTok videos, and then.
- 11:45Speaker 2: That's when I started to start sharing my life.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And I don't know, this confidence kind of just like
- 11:50Speaker 1: came out of nowhere too, because I look back at
- 11:52Speaker 1: like my early twenties. I tried to film a YouTube
- 11:55Speaker 1: video when I was twenty one, okay, yeah crazy.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Zach and I were in Paris.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I tried to film a YouTube blog and I remember
- 12:01Speaker 1: filming one video and I watched the video back and
- 12:04Speaker 1: I literally deleted it and I said to Zach, I
- 12:07Speaker 1: will never be doing that again. Like I was so embarrassed.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I had no confidence in myself. I was like critiquing
- 12:12Speaker 1: everything on my face. I thought I looked ugly, Like
- 12:14Speaker 1: I was just like so beyond hard on myself. And
- 12:18Speaker 1: when I was twenty five, I don't know what happened.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I feel like my confidence just completely shifted. I almost
- 12:23Speaker 1: like had the mindset of where I didn't really care
- 12:25Speaker 1: what people thought of me. I think I just like
- 12:28Speaker 1: really wanted to be an influencer. That nothing mattered to me.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I didn't care what people said about me online. I
- 12:33Speaker 1: really just like went straight into it and was like,
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm just going to do this for myself.
- 12:37Speaker 2: If things work out, great, if things don't, then it
- 12:40Speaker 2: is what it is.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And so obviously things ended up working out, and that's
- 12:43Speaker 1: when I started to feel like, oh, this is for me,
- 12:46Speaker 1: Like this is my passion.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I love it. I'm driven, I'm.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Motivated, I'm consistent, like I constantly want to show up,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I constantly want to be online. I feel comfortable with
- 12:53Speaker 1: sharing my life and it's just something that I always
- 12:57Speaker 1: have enjoyed.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And so that's kind of how I.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Figure out like what I wanted to do was really
- 13:01Speaker 1: going through the journey of trying different things, and then
- 13:03Speaker 1: once I found my passion, that's when things started to
- 13:07Speaker 1: become successful and things started to work out, and that's
- 13:09Speaker 1: when I'm like, Okay, this is my calling. Like I
- 13:11Speaker 1: am driven, I am motivated. I want this so badly
- 13:14Speaker 1: that I want to make this my full time thing.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And so that kind of goes with the first lesson,
- 13:18Speaker 1: which is your first job is not your forever path.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So if you're in your early twenties, if you're just
- 13:23Speaker 1: getting out of college, and you think, oh, I need
- 13:25Speaker 1: to figure out my career path as soon as I'm
- 13:27Speaker 1: out of school.
- 13:28Speaker 2: That is not the case whatsoever.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It took me five to six years to figure out
- 13:32Speaker 1: what I wanted to do with my life and what
- 13:34Speaker 1: my career path was, and that it's important to know
- 13:38Speaker 1: that everybody's.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Journey is different.
- 13:40Speaker 1: You might be in your late twenties and still not
- 13:42Speaker 1: knowing what you wanted to do, but I think they'll
- 13:44Speaker 1: be signs and there'll be reasons for you to understand
- 13:47Speaker 1: what is worth putting your energy towards and what is
- 13:51Speaker 1: your calling. And so that's kind of like something that
- 13:54Speaker 1: I've learned that, you know, what I thought was going
- 13:57Speaker 1: to be my favorite thing wasn't. And I'm happy that
- 13:59Speaker 1: I trusted my own guys and went through with something
- 14:01Speaker 1: completely different and becoming my own boss and doing my
- 14:05Speaker 1: own thing and leaving my dad's company and doing something
- 14:09Speaker 1: that I was extremely passionate about that I thought would
- 14:12Speaker 1: be the best thing for myself and my husband and
- 14:15Speaker 1: I and anyways, it's just like something that I think
- 14:18Speaker 1: everyone should really trust their own gut. And that's another
- 14:21Speaker 1: lesson that I've learned is really trusting myself and no
- 14:26Speaker 1: one else. My parents weren't really supportive at the time.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I think they didn't really understand it, which is so fair.
- 14:32Speaker 1: But I felt like I could take this into my
- 14:35Speaker 1: own hands and like really figure out a career for
- 14:37Speaker 1: myself by doing this, and so I.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Trusted my own gut.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I trusted everything in my power to take this responsibility on.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And here we are now doing it full time for
- 14:48Speaker 1: four or five years now, and I'm feeling so incredibly.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Grateful to take that risk and follow my own gut.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Another thing I've learned through my twenties is that not
- 14:57Speaker 1: all friendships are mental ass forever.
- 15:00Speaker 2: You will outgrow people and they will outgrow you.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I have had some friends who have stayed by my
- 15:05Speaker 1: side since day one. I have like my go to
- 15:08Speaker 1: girls that I played sports with, that I grew up with,
- 15:11Speaker 1: and you know, we've been friends since then and we
- 15:13Speaker 1: still have a really good friendship now.
- 15:15Speaker 2: But I've also had friends.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Where they were like my ride or dies, like I
- 15:19Speaker 1: was seeing them almost every single night, we were doing
- 15:22Speaker 1: things together, like my girls, right, and now we don't
- 15:25Speaker 1: even talk, we don't even you know, have the same passions,
- 15:29Speaker 1: you know, very different people like just different likes, different interests,
- 15:33Speaker 1: like just a lot of differences. And I feel like
- 15:37Speaker 1: that's okay to understand that you're going to outgrow people
- 15:40Speaker 1: and that it's okay to let that go, even though
- 15:44Speaker 1: it is hard. I've definitely had a few friendships where
- 15:46Speaker 1: the breakup was hard. I think, you know, it's never
- 15:49Speaker 1: easy letting that friendship go, especially when it is someone
- 15:53Speaker 1: that you are so close to. But I think you
- 15:56Speaker 1: have to realize that it's worth being with people who
- 16:01Speaker 1: support you and who want to see you and who
- 16:04Speaker 1: want to show up.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And who have the same interest with you.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Like I remember I was trying to force a friendship
- 16:10Speaker 1: when I did have like a friendship breakup at the time,
- 16:12Speaker 1: I was almost trying to like force us to continue
- 16:15Speaker 1: being friends. And I remember when we were forcing like
- 16:18Speaker 1: hangouts and like doing things, I was not enjoying the
- 16:21Speaker 1: time that we were doing because like we just were
- 16:23Speaker 1: so different, Like we had such different passions, such different
- 16:27Speaker 1: almost like different beliefs in a sense, Like I just
- 16:29Speaker 1: felt like we were not aligning on anything. And that's
- 16:33Speaker 1: when I kind of realized that I'm like, why am
- 16:35Speaker 1: I forcing something that shouldn't be forced, Like when you're
- 16:37Speaker 1: in a friendship, it should be natural.
- 16:38Speaker 2: You should be having.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Fun, you should be enjoying spending time with them. Like,
- 16:42Speaker 1: if you're not enjoying spending time with that one person,
- 16:45Speaker 1: you almost have to like mentally realize that that friendship
- 16:49Speaker 1: is no longer serving you and.
- 16:50Speaker 2: That it's not meant to continue.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And I know that's like hard to grasp and hard
- 16:54Speaker 1: to understand, but I do think there is a reason
- 16:57Speaker 1: for that, and that the right people will show up
- 17:01Speaker 1: and the right people will be by your side, and
- 17:04Speaker 1: you'll realize that, oh, I'm meant to be with this person,
- 17:07Speaker 1: like I'm meant to have a friendship with this person,
- 17:09Speaker 1: Like it feels good, it feels entertaining, Like you want
- 17:11Speaker 1: to surround yourself with people that actually bring out the
- 17:13Speaker 1: best side of you. Right, So I think that's definitely
- 17:16Speaker 1: something that's difficult in your twenties, is the friendship breakups
- 17:20Speaker 1: and just like not really understanding why you're outgrowing these
- 17:23Speaker 1: certain people.
- 17:24Speaker 2: But we're all human, we all grow up.
- 17:27Speaker 1: To be a specific person and sometimes it's different, and
- 17:31Speaker 1: that's okay. Like know that there is going to be
- 17:34Speaker 1: the right people by your side and that it will
- 17:36Speaker 1: feel so natural, and it will feel so good and
- 17:38Speaker 1: you'll enjoy the company. And I think also when you
- 17:42Speaker 1: get into your later twenties, you actually realize that your
- 17:44Speaker 1: smaller group of friends is better than a big group
- 17:48Speaker 1: of friends, Like you want to keep you know, the
- 17:50Speaker 1: close ones to you and understand that it's okay to
- 17:53Speaker 1: have a small group of friends and not need like
- 17:55Speaker 1: twenty five girlfriends.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I do have a.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Big group of girls, but I would say that I
- 18:00Speaker 1: am closer to like a specific four to five girls
- 18:03Speaker 1: that I consider my best best friends. As you get older,
- 18:06Speaker 1: you realize how busy life is, and you know, I
- 18:10Speaker 1: don't have kids yet, but I know as soon as
- 18:12Speaker 1: I have kids, it's going to be even harder to
- 18:13Speaker 1: like make those efforts of seeing your friends and showing
- 18:16Speaker 1: up and also realizing that there's going to be friends
- 18:19Speaker 1: for different reasons. Like I feel like in my early twenties,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I felt like had my go to girls and that
- 18:23Speaker 1: was it, whereas like now I feel like I have
- 18:25Speaker 1: so many friends for so many different reasons. I have
- 18:27Speaker 1: friends from my sports, I have friends from you know,
- 18:30Speaker 1: my pilates classes. I have my friends from my childhood,
- 18:34Speaker 1: Like there's so many different reasons for different friendships and
- 18:37Speaker 1: that's okay, and that's so normal, and I think that's
- 18:39Speaker 1: so great to have friends for different reasons. And I hope,
- 18:42Speaker 1: you know, when I'm a new mom, maybe you'll have
- 18:45Speaker 1: new mom friends and I'll meet them through you know,
- 18:47Speaker 1: some tip of music class or swim lessons or whatever.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Right, so you'll have friends in different groups.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And I think that's super healthy, and I think that's
- 18:55Speaker 1: so great to have different types of friendships.
- 18:58Speaker 2: But yeah, that's kind of like.
- 18:59Speaker 1: What I've learned about friendships throughout my twenties is just
- 19:02Speaker 1: knowing that people will outgrow you, and that not everything
- 19:05Speaker 1: is meant to last forever, and that you will be
- 19:08Speaker 1: with the right people and you'll realize who the right
- 19:10Speaker 1: people are as you get older. Another lesson I've learned
- 19:13Speaker 1: is the right people will make life easier, not harder.
- 19:17Speaker 2: This is so freaking true. I felt like my.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Life got better when the toxic friendships kind of got
- 19:23Speaker 1: out of my life. I started to create kind of
- 19:24Speaker 1: like a smaller circle for myself. I felt like, I,
- 19:28Speaker 1: I don't know, just like saw life in a different
- 19:30Speaker 1: way when I started to put myself first and surrounding
- 19:34Speaker 1: myself with people who I actually enjoy spending time with.
- 19:37Speaker 1: It's just like really important to like cut out the
- 19:39Speaker 1: toxic people and not feel like you need to continuously
- 19:42Speaker 1: have them in your life and know that the good
- 19:46Speaker 1: energy and the good people in your life are.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Going to give you that good energy that you want.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Right, So I think it's important too, really just like
- 19:53Speaker 1: cut ends with people who don't bring that positive aspect
- 19:57Speaker 1: that you want in your life, and that your life
- 19:59Speaker 1: will get better when you are with the right people
- 20:02Speaker 1: and it will get easier to You could also think
- 20:04Speaker 1: of like a toxic boyfriend, Like if you feel like
- 20:07Speaker 1: you're not like seeing that future or you're not seeing
- 20:10Speaker 1: you know, that progress that you wanted in your life,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and maybe there's something that's holding you back, and that
- 20:15Speaker 1: could be because you might be with someone that might
- 20:18Speaker 1: not be the right fit for you. And so I
- 20:20Speaker 1: feel like when you find your person, everything just feels
- 20:22Speaker 1: right and the path feels right, the growth feels right,
- 20:26Speaker 1: and you're all in alignment with your future goals. And
- 20:30Speaker 1: I think it's such an important factor of like, when
- 20:33Speaker 1: you are looking for your person and your boyfriend or
- 20:36Speaker 1: your partner, it's important to have someone that is growing
- 20:39Speaker 1: with you and making life easier as well.
- 20:43Speaker 2: So yeah, I just thought I.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Would throw that in there as well, because it's not
- 20:47Speaker 1: just about like the people you surround yourself with when
- 20:49Speaker 1: it comes to friends, but it's also like the spouse
- 20:52Speaker 1: that you decide to choose and marry, and that partner
- 20:54Speaker 1: that you want to be with is definitely going to
- 20:56Speaker 1: help you in your life as well and.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Just make everything so much esier.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Another lesson I've learned is that you don't need to
- 21:02Speaker 1: have your life all figured out in your twenties.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Most people are figuring it out as they go.
- 21:07Speaker 1: This is kind of similar to the whole job thing,
- 21:10Speaker 1: like know that your job will come and you will
- 21:14Speaker 1: know when it does come to you at.
- 21:16Speaker 2: The right time.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And another thing that's kind of made me realize, where,
- 21:19Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to figure life out still and
- 21:21Speaker 1: figure out like where it's going to go.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Is my whole like prepping for pregnancy.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I've always had this massive fear of getting pregnant, and
- 21:30Speaker 1: I kind of came to the realization that I just
- 21:31Speaker 1: need to do it in my own timeline and not
- 21:33Speaker 1: force anything because I feel like some people just jump
- 21:37Speaker 1: right into it, which is so fine if you feel
- 21:38Speaker 1: ready to do. So that's great, but I have never
- 21:42Speaker 1: felt ready until now, Like I have not had that
- 21:45Speaker 1: feeling where I'm like, oh, like I want to have
- 21:48Speaker 1: a baby so badly. Like I feel like I know
- 21:49Speaker 1: some girlfriends of mine personally who are like born to
- 21:52Speaker 1: be a mother, Like they just like they felt the
- 21:54Speaker 1: drive to have a kid immediately, which is so amazing
- 21:58Speaker 1: and so cool. And sometimes I'm like, I wish I
- 22:01Speaker 1: had that drive of like wanting to become a mom
- 22:03Speaker 1: or have that instant feeling of knowing when that was
- 22:05Speaker 1: going to be. And I'd realized that, like everyone's timeline
- 22:09Speaker 1: is different and that, you know, my feeling of like
- 22:13Speaker 1: wanting that just is taking longer, and my feeling of
- 22:16Speaker 1: like wanting motherhood and like wanting to become pregnant is
- 22:19Speaker 1: just coming at a later time for me. And that's okay,
- 22:23Speaker 1: And yeah, I've just kind of accepted that, and I'm
- 22:25Speaker 1: just trying to also find ways, like how can I
- 22:29Speaker 1: grow myself in a way where I feel mentally ready
- 22:32Speaker 1: to take on this part of my life.
- 22:34Speaker 2: So it's okay to not have it figured it out.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I still don't have it figured out, and I'm still
- 22:38Speaker 1: trying to figure it out, but you know, life will
- 22:42Speaker 1: go on and you will learn and you will figure
- 22:44Speaker 1: out that you will eventually like feel this urge of
- 22:48Speaker 1: like knowing when you're ready to take on a newly
- 22:51Speaker 1: of faith or a new journey.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And I just really.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Always believe in signs and just kind of like always
- 22:58Speaker 1: again going back to trusting your guy of knowing when
- 23:00Speaker 1: things feel right. So I'm a firm believer in that.
- 23:03Speaker 1: And for me, that's like how I feel like I
- 23:05Speaker 1: really try and navigate my life and my goals in life,
- 23:11Speaker 1: and it's just something that I've always kind of done
- 23:13Speaker 1: for myself.
- 23:14Speaker 2: This lesson is probably the first lesson that.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I've learned, honestly this specific year of being twenty nine,
- 23:20Speaker 1: and that is rest is also something that we consider productive.
- 23:25Speaker 1: And I think rest is something that I've made a
- 23:28Speaker 1: huge commitment for myself this year because I've always been
- 23:33Speaker 1: that kind of person that loves to be go, go go.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I feel like I'm always like on the go, wanting
- 23:36Speaker 1: to do things like keeping myself busy, and as soon
- 23:40Speaker 1: as I got my back injury and as soon as
- 23:42Speaker 1: I felt like I put too much on my plate
- 23:44Speaker 1: when it came to like work, buying a house, you know,
- 23:48Speaker 1: getting married, Like so many things happened in such a
- 23:50Speaker 1: short period of time that I felt like my body
- 23:55Speaker 1: was telling me, you need to take a step back
- 23:57Speaker 1: and you need to rest. Like the fact you're injuring yourself,
- 24:00Speaker 1: the fact you're not listening to your body. You need
- 24:02Speaker 1: to find ways to relax, and you need to understand
- 24:04Speaker 1: that it's important to rest and it's important to take
- 24:07Speaker 1: breaks because if you don't take those breaks, then.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Like bad things are going to happen.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Right, And so, going back to the back injury, I
- 24:15Speaker 1: overdid it and I'm learning now that I shouldn't have
- 24:18Speaker 1: done that, And so I have taken almost two to
- 24:22Speaker 1: three months off working out completely, and that was really
- 24:27Speaker 1: really tough on me mentally. Eventually I found some type
- 24:30Speaker 1: of routine for myself that worked, and I'm still trying
- 24:33Speaker 1: to figure out a routine for myself. Like I've gone
- 24:35Speaker 1: from working out five to six times a week to
- 24:37Speaker 1: like three times a week if I'm lucky, and I've
- 24:40Speaker 1: realized that that's okay, and that slowing down has actually
- 24:44Speaker 1: benefited me so much.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I am feeling so good from.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Taking the break and understanding what my body actually needs
- 24:51Speaker 1: some people, you know, need the five times a week
- 24:53Speaker 1: and others don't write and never say never. I don't
- 24:56Speaker 1: know a five years from now I'll be able to
- 24:58Speaker 1: do four to five times a week.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Again, I have no way.
- 25:00Speaker 1: But right now my calling is to slow down and
- 25:03Speaker 1: to work out a little bit less and that's okay.
- 25:06Speaker 1: And I'm realizing that my body just needs the rest
- 25:08Speaker 1: right now, and I'm enjoying that, and I'm understanding that
- 25:12Speaker 1: it's so so important to just like really rest and
- 25:17Speaker 1: like realize how important it is for yourself to just
- 25:20Speaker 1: like relax, chill and not stress. I've also tried to
- 25:23Speaker 1: really take on meditation, I've really been trying to get
- 25:27Speaker 1: into yoga, just trying to find ways to relax my body,
- 25:32Speaker 1: going to the spaw War, booking massages like once again,
- 25:35Speaker 1: just really trying to make rest a priority and really
- 25:39Speaker 1: just slowing down my life, which I think is so
- 25:42Speaker 1: so important. Eventually, I'll realize that I feel like in
- 25:44Speaker 1: your late twenties that it's important for life to slow
- 25:47Speaker 1: down a bit, and yeah, just something that I've learned
- 25:51Speaker 1: now and not something that I learned in my early twenties.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Another lesson is you can start over. Multiple times, and
- 25:58Speaker 1: you can do everything right and still you'll not get
- 26:00Speaker 1: the outcome that you wanted.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I've had so.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Many moments in my life where you know, some things
- 26:05Speaker 1: have failed, or there's been things where I, you know,
- 26:09Speaker 1: want to try again or do something different and they
- 26:12Speaker 1: just don't work out. I feel like failure is a
- 26:16Speaker 1: source of motivation for myself. I see failure as Okay,
- 26:19Speaker 1: what can I do better? How can I improve? What
- 26:22Speaker 1: can I do different? And I always look back at
- 26:25Speaker 1: those moments in my life where I, did, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 1: try so hard for something and I didn't succeed, But
- 26:30Speaker 1: I never stopped, like, I never stopped believing in myself.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I always used things that I've failed in my life
- 26:38Speaker 1: as a source of motivation.
- 26:40Speaker 2: So I always think there's something that can be improved on.
- 26:43Speaker 1: I always think there's something that we can, you know,
- 26:46Speaker 1: push ourselves to do better at. And sometimes it's okay
- 26:50Speaker 1: to do something multiple times in order to get things right.
- 26:54Speaker 1: So that's definitely something that I've learned and something that
- 26:57Speaker 1: I feel like has been throughout my entire twenties. Is
- 27:00Speaker 1: just kind of going through this rollercoaster of like seeing
- 27:03Speaker 1: failure but using it as my source of motivation to
- 27:05Speaker 1: like get myself back up and seeing the success that
- 27:08Speaker 1: it turns.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Out to be eventually.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Right, So just know that it's okay to go on
- 27:14Speaker 1: your own timeline and that you can do it again
- 27:17Speaker 1: if you failed, and that there's no one stopping you
- 27:20Speaker 1: right like you do what you think is best for yourself.
- 27:24Speaker 1: And yeah, that's just something that I wanted to chat about.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Another lesson is no one is thinking about you as
- 27:31Speaker 1: much as you think. This is such an important lesson
- 27:36Speaker 1: to learn because I have been a chronic overthinker for
- 27:40Speaker 1: my entire life. Essentially, like I feel like something goes
- 27:43Speaker 1: wrong in a conversation that I've had with someone and
- 27:45Speaker 1: I start overthinking.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god, I shouldn't have said that.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Like I'm thinking so much into this one conversation that
- 27:51Speaker 1: I had with a friend when I'm telling you right
- 27:53Speaker 1: now that one person probably isn't thinking about that conversation.
- 27:56Speaker 1: They probably literally didn't even think twice of it. And
- 27:59Speaker 1: so so this is something that I feel like I'm
- 28:01Speaker 1: still working on. I think that's something that a lot
- 28:03Speaker 1: of people can work on. Is just like not overthinking
- 28:06Speaker 1: and thinking too much of it, but you are really
- 28:09Speaker 1: the only person that cares so much, Like everybody cares
- 28:13Speaker 1: about themselves, right like, not everyone's going to over care
- 28:16Speaker 1: about something that you said to them or something that
- 28:19Speaker 1: you thought may have impacted the relationship or whatever.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Right like, you are thinking about it so much.
- 28:24Speaker 1: More than that person is, and yeah, just don't overthink,
- 28:29Speaker 1: don't overstress. I'm still working on it, and I'm not
- 28:31Speaker 1: going to say I'm perfect at it right now, but
- 28:34Speaker 1: definitely something that I am. I'm definitely an overthinker and
- 28:38Speaker 1: I'm just constantly trying to improve that for myself, and
- 28:41Speaker 1: that is something that I'm still working on and that's okay.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Another one is being uncomfortable usually means you're growing, and
- 28:47Speaker 1: that is something that I'm definitely going through right now.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I have been very uncomfortable these past few months going
- 28:55Speaker 1: into this year because I feel like there's been a
- 28:58Speaker 1: lot of change.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Obviously, the thought of moving has definitely hit me.
- 29:03Speaker 1: You know, moving into a new house I'm really really
- 29:05Speaker 1: excited for, but I also know that it's leaving something
- 29:08Speaker 1: behind and this house here, we've built so many amazing
- 29:12Speaker 1: memories with you know, be engaged, getting Freddie, being married.
- 29:17Speaker 1: You know, I don't know there's just like so many
- 29:19Speaker 1: amazing things about this house that I'm very like emotional
- 29:24Speaker 1: about thinking about it because it just means so much
- 29:28Speaker 1: to us. It's our first house that we ever bought,
- 29:30Speaker 1: and I know it's going to be really really hard
- 29:31Speaker 1: to leave, but I know that it's important to move
- 29:36Speaker 1: on to the next. Another one has been obviously, like
- 29:38Speaker 1: understanding that I'm turning thirty and that I'm leaving my
- 29:42Speaker 1: twenties kind of something that's.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Been hard to understand and grasp.
- 29:47Speaker 1: But I know thirties are going to be the best
- 29:50Speaker 1: years yet and something that I'm trying to really look
- 29:55Speaker 1: forward to and see that excitement. And then also just
- 30:00Speaker 1: like the uncomfortable thought of like again starting a family
- 30:03Speaker 1: and all that, Like I'm scared because I know my
- 30:06Speaker 1: life is going to change a lot. I am a
- 30:08Speaker 1: very work driven individual that really does love my job,
- 30:12Speaker 1: but you know, taking home responsibility obviously of like raising
- 30:16Speaker 1: a child is definitely scary, but also something that I've
- 30:19Speaker 1: always wanted. I've always wanted to be a mom, I've
- 30:21Speaker 1: always wanted to have a family with Zach, and so
- 30:25Speaker 1: I know this is my calling and something that I
- 30:28Speaker 1: just need to build the courage of doing even though
- 30:31Speaker 1: I am terrified, I am excited. So something that I've
- 30:35Speaker 1: definitely like, you know, have grown a lot in honestly,
- 30:38Speaker 1: within this past year, this has been like something that
- 30:40Speaker 1: I've been really working towards and I finally feel you know,
- 30:44Speaker 1: ready and excited and anyway, it's just something that I
- 30:46Speaker 1: kind of wanted to open up about because I feel like, yeah,
- 30:49Speaker 1: it's something that's always really hard when you're like uncomfortable
- 30:54Speaker 1: with change and you're uncomfortable with things that are new,
- 30:57Speaker 1: and that just means that you are growing. And that's
- 31:00Speaker 1: something that I've really learned these past few years, and
- 31:03Speaker 1: I'm trying to see growth as an exciting thing as well,
- 31:07Speaker 1: not something to be scared of, but excitement and you know, again,
- 31:12Speaker 1: better things just come as.
- 31:14Speaker 2: You continue to make changes.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Another one is the way you talk to yourself actually matters.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And you guys know that I have pushed positive self
- 31:23Speaker 1: talk so much and that when you bring negative energy
- 31:27Speaker 1: to yourself, it's going to create negative vibes in general.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Like it's just the reality.
- 31:31Speaker 1: So it's so important to not be so hard on
- 31:34Speaker 1: yourself and realize that the way you talk to yourself
- 31:38Speaker 1: really does make a huge impact in yourself and your
- 31:40Speaker 1: mental health, and why it's so important to just speak
- 31:44Speaker 1: so highly about yourself. And that kind of goes into
- 31:46Speaker 1: the next lesson, which is ignoring your mental health doesn't
- 31:50Speaker 1: make it go away. Mental health is so crucial. If
- 31:55Speaker 1: I think about me in my early twenties, I know
- 31:57Speaker 1: for a fact I did not give two shits about
- 32:00Speaker 1: my mental health. Now it's something that I literally make
- 32:03Speaker 1: the biggest priority ever. If I'm feeling anxious and I'm
- 32:05Speaker 1: feeling like I'm overstressed or I need to take a
- 32:08Speaker 1: step back, like I fully will put work to the
- 32:11Speaker 1: side and focus on my mental health over anything else.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Like that, to me is the biggest priority. And so
- 32:17Speaker 1: you realize that as you get older. But your mental
- 32:20Speaker 1: health is so crucial and it plays such a huge
- 32:23Speaker 1: impact in your life, in your career, in anything really,
- 32:28Speaker 1: So definitely like making your mental health a huge priority
- 32:31Speaker 1: is something that I will always always stress about and
- 32:35Speaker 1: will always tell you that you always need to make
- 32:38Speaker 1: that first over.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Anything else in life.
- 32:41Speaker 1: And then the last lesson that I've learned is you
- 32:44Speaker 1: don't get your early twenties back, so stop waiting to live.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I personally tried to make my entire twenties, the years
- 32:51Speaker 1: of travel. I knew that traveling was such an important
- 32:54Speaker 1: thing in my life, and I have been to so
- 32:57Speaker 1: many incredible places and I don't regret any of it.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Spending my money on travel is truly the best thing ever.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I feel like social media has definitely painted the.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Picture of like everybody needs a burke in, everybody needs
- 33:10Speaker 1: a YSL handbag, everybody needs you know, designer handbag, blah
- 33:13Speaker 1: bah blah. Like if I could tell you to spend
- 33:15Speaker 1: your money on one thing, it would not be that,
- 33:17Speaker 1: it would be travel as much as you can. That
- 33:22Speaker 1: is what I think is worth every single penny. I
- 33:26Speaker 1: can hope. I hope my thirties are just as much
- 33:30Speaker 1: of a travel year for me. I hope I can
- 33:33Speaker 1: bring my kids to places and continue to do those
- 33:36Speaker 1: amazing things as a family. Like I don't ever want
- 33:39Speaker 1: to stop traveling, but I just want to say that,
- 33:41Speaker 1: like travel now as much as you can, because it
- 33:44Speaker 1: really is the best when it's in your twenties. I
- 33:47Speaker 1: can think of so many amazing memories of just like
- 33:51Speaker 1: traveling all of Europe with my husband, and like doing
- 33:53Speaker 1: so many fun things together, traveling with my sister, like,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't regret any of it, and
- 33:59Speaker 1: I think it's so important and so crucial to just
- 34:02Speaker 1: do that and really make that a huge priority. So
- 34:06Speaker 1: I always think about, oh, what was my favorite memory of,
- 34:10Speaker 1: you know, when I was twenty six, or when I
- 34:12Speaker 1: always say a trip, like I always think of a
- 34:14Speaker 1: trip that brings back so many fun memories, and I
- 34:17Speaker 1: truly think that's, like, yeah, one of my favorite parts
- 34:20Speaker 1: of just like what I did in my twenties. So
- 34:22Speaker 1: those are all the lessons I feel like I've learned
- 34:24Speaker 1: throughout these past ten years of my twenties. But now
- 34:28Speaker 1: I want to talk about things that I'm taking into
- 34:30Speaker 1: my thirties, and there's still kind of lessons I guess
- 34:32Speaker 1: in a way, but one of them being I stopped
- 34:35Speaker 1: saying yes to things that I didn't.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Want to go to. So if the girls are going
- 34:39Speaker 2: out to a bar, I don't want to go to
- 34:41Speaker 2: a bar. So if I don't want to go to
- 34:43Speaker 2: a bar, why am I saying yes?
- 34:45Speaker 1: I say no to things that I don't want to do,
- 34:49Speaker 1: and I feel okay with saying no to those things.
- 34:52Speaker 1: I used to feel so forced to say yes to
- 34:54Speaker 1: do things because I'm like, oh, I'm gonna have fomo,
- 34:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna miss out whatever. Well, if I would rather
- 34:58Speaker 1: be in my bed, or if I you'd rather just
- 35:00Speaker 1: chill at my house, why am I forcing myself to
- 35:02Speaker 1: go out? So just really always tell yourself like, is
- 35:07Speaker 1: this worth going to? Is this something I actually want
- 35:10Speaker 1: to do? Is there any benefit out of doing this? No,
- 35:14Speaker 1: So don't force something that you don't want to do.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Realize that it's okay to protect your piece. It's okay
- 35:19Speaker 1: to stay home and not force yourself to do something
- 35:22Speaker 1: that you don't want to do.
- 35:23Speaker 2: If you don't want to.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Travel with someone, or you don't want to spend your
- 35:26Speaker 1: money on something. Again, it's okay to say no and
- 35:30Speaker 1: not do it. You have to do what you think
- 35:32Speaker 1: is best for yourself. The simple things in life are
- 35:35Speaker 1: truly just the best. And I think you also just
- 35:37Speaker 1: realize how important those simple things that you do on
- 35:40Speaker 1: a day to day basis. Another one is I stop
- 35:43Speaker 1: chasing people who aren't choosing me. Again, going back to friendships,
- 35:46Speaker 1: be with the people that you actually want to surround
- 35:49Speaker 1: yourself with. Let's not continue to be with someone that's
- 35:52Speaker 1: bringing toxic energy into our life. Another one is trusting
- 35:55Speaker 1: your own gut. That is probably the biggest thing that
- 35:58Speaker 1: I could take away from this is always trusting yourself
- 36:01Speaker 1: and no one else. And then the last one is
- 36:03Speaker 1: focusing more on the present instead of constantly.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Chasing the next thing.
- 36:08Speaker 1: It's so important to just really focus on the goals
- 36:11Speaker 1: that you want to achieve for yourself in this present
- 36:14Speaker 1: time first overthinking about those big goals that you want
- 36:18Speaker 1: in life and like years from now. It's important just
- 36:22Speaker 1: to take one step at a time because eventually you'll
- 36:24Speaker 1: get to that big goal that you want years to come,
- 36:26Speaker 1: but let's just focus on the present and focus on
- 36:29Speaker 1: things that we can currently do in our life.
- 36:31Speaker 2: So that's kind of all.
- 36:32Speaker 1: The things I really wanted to talk about in my
- 36:34Speaker 1: twenties and going into my thirties. I feel like my
- 36:38Speaker 1: twenties was definitely a rollercoaster. It was definitely years that
- 36:41Speaker 1: I was just trying to figure out my life. Obviously,
- 36:44Speaker 1: like I started off with not knowing what I was
- 36:47Speaker 1: going to do, and I'm ending off my twenties with
- 36:50Speaker 1: figuring my shit out and you know, being married and
- 36:54Speaker 1: seeing the success that has.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Happened with my career.
- 36:57Speaker 1: It truly has been such credible ten years, and I'm
- 37:02Speaker 1: so beyond grateful for all the opportunities and amazing memories
- 37:07Speaker 1: that I've created in my twenties. And I know my
- 37:09Speaker 1: thirties are going to be about choosing what actually matters.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Thirties are going to be the year that I just
- 37:17Speaker 1: you know, might still be figuring some stuff out.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I hope it's just a year that I.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Focus on the little things, the simple things, the things
- 37:24Speaker 1: that bring me so much joy. And yeah, i just
- 37:27Speaker 1: think my thirties are really going to be the year
- 37:29Speaker 1: that I love the most, to be honest, and I'm
- 37:32Speaker 1: so excited for the new chapters, the new opportunities, and
- 37:37Speaker 1: the new excitement that will be brought into my life.
- 37:40Speaker 2: So that is today's episode. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
