Latest / Worldview Matters With David Fiorazo / Jenna Ellis: Tracing Demonic Ideologies & Roots Of The Sexual Revolution
Transcript
- 0:00Hey, friends. Welcome to World View Matters. Today's guest writes that the sexual revolution
- 0:05of the 60s led to the rejection of basic biology of today. We'll get to Jenna Ellis
- 0:11with American Family Association in a minute. We're also going to talk about target,
- 0:16the corporation, how Americans may have pushed the pioneer of woke retail to a breaking point.
- 0:23We'll talk about that. And also, eight and ten Americans don't want boys in girls' sports,
- 0:30surprise, surprise, and USAID. There's been a lot of waste, specifically more than 50 billion
- 0:37dollars in fiscal 2023. We'll talk about that. And a little headline from the Babylon B. Archaeologists
- 0:45discover Sodom and Gamora was funded by USAID. Coming up, World View Matters with Jenna Ellis.
- 0:56Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 1:03defending biblical Christianity. No topic, off limits. And now, here's your host, David Firazo.
- 1:13I'm still laughing about the Babylon B. headline, guys. I'm sorry. That's just funny. I mean,
- 1:19but you know, it's funny and sad at the same time. This battle's been going on. I mean, 30 years ago,
- 1:24what is it? The Heritage Foundation. Yeah, the Heritage Foundation penned a piece called
- 1:29Abolish, the wasteful agency for international development, USAID. Anyway, Jenna Ellis is our guest
- 1:37today, senior advisor of public policy at the American Family Association. She's an author,
- 1:43national radio host of Jenna Ellis in the morning. And previously, she served as a senior legal
- 1:50advisor to President Trump. And we're just thrilled to bring her on today. Jenna, welcome to World
- 1:56View Matters. Good to see you, sister. Good to see you too, David. Thank you so much for having me.
- 2:02Well, thank you. I've been trying to get you on for a while. I've got your book. We're going to
- 2:06talk about this because 10 years ago, significant year with the social issues battle in America and
- 2:13the Supreme Court case in 2015. But I want to say we've had Andy Woods, Nancy Piercy,
- 2:20JB Hicks and Mike Gendron all on the podcast. They endorsed your book. And so by the way,
- 2:25friends, the book is called the legal basis for a moral constitution. It is deep. It is
- 2:32informative, factual, and I think it's a very important book for you to have in your library.
- 2:38It doesn't have to be a brand new book. If it's got true American history and a biblical argument
- 2:43for why we do things the way we do or should in the United States of America. So Jenna,
- 2:49you wrote an op-ed recently. We'll get to this in a minute. Tracing the transgender bathroom
- 2:55debate to the roots of the sexual revolution. I was thrilled to see this because I often
- 3:03like to talk with our guests if we're not talking about current issues news and what's going on
- 3:08globally or in the States or in the church in America. I like to analyze how we got to where we are
- 3:14today. Maybe we can just do that now. I know what I wanted to talk about USAID and get your take on
- 3:20some of the waste and corruption that's coming out now. And we'll talk about Target. But that's
- 3:25we'll talk about the AFA American Family Association. That's what we'll talk about Target. But give us
- 3:30an overall bird's eye view of the sexual revolution because the ground had to be set up for this
- 3:40delusion in chaos of well, you can be whatever sex you want. Talk to a little bit about that. We'll
- 3:44jump into your op-ed. Yeah. And I think actually those two topics, the USAID and where we're at
- 3:52with the current Trump administration actually go hand in hand with tracing our roots back to
- 3:56the sexual revolution and then ultimately back to America's founding, which is really where we
- 4:02should start. And that's why my book even 10 years later, I can't believe it's been already been
- 4:0510 years. But it's still very timely because Christians especially, but every American
- 4:12who cares about our national sovereignty cares about policy needs to understand America's founding.
- 4:18And then they also need to understand what's happened over the 250 years of America's history
- 4:23to how we got to where we're at. And a lot of what President Trump is doing is just simply unwinding
- 4:29some bad policy that's grounded in maybe not exactly a biblical worldview, but at least a lot
- 4:35closer to a truthful perspective, a common sense perspective than what we've seen from the left.
- 4:41And so the sexual revolution that really got its foothold in the late 1950s, early 1960s really
- 4:50started with this whole idea that women could have sex like men. And what's that why perpetuated
- 4:57was this whole myth of common and just casual sex. And so what it did was take this precious covenant
- 5:07outside of the bounds of marriage and sold a lie particularly to women that casual sex was reclaiming
- 5:16our power or something along those lines. And once you do that, then you have to address the
- 5:22natural consequences of sex, which of course is procreation, women get pregnant. And so then
- 5:28the courts had to address contraceptives. That's where we get to the critical decision of Griswold
- 5:34versus Connecticut in 1965 where the Supreme Court wildly outside of the bounds of judicial
- 5:41review article three in their jurisdiction created a false doctrine almost like a a woke
- 5:48pastor would reading between the lines of scripture and just claiming that God said something that
- 5:53he really didn't. Well, the Supreme Court is claiming that the US Constitution is what gives us
- 5:59our rights. We know from our founding our rights come from God our creator not our government
- 6:04and to the sole purpose of government to preserve and protect our rights, but the Supreme Court got
- 6:09it exactly opposite. And so what they did was say that the governments and the Constitution
- 6:14grants us our rights so they're merely privileges. And one of those rights is a right to privacy,
- 6:19which somehow they contended covers contraceptives, which led to abortions, which led to a reinvention
- 6:26of the definition of marriage, the family unit in Obergefell versus Hodges. And now ultimately
- 6:32has resulted in the current contention we see at the Supreme Court that was argued back in December
- 6:37of the United States versus Scarmetti, which is contemplating a Tennessee law that really is
- 6:42attempting to argue that somehow the government doesn't have a compelling interest to protect
- 6:47minor children uphold their biblical right to intact bodies and and refuse to allow gender reassignment
- 6:55surgery, which we know is just a legal speak and leftist speak for genital mutilation of children.
- 7:02That's why we're at where we're at because if you don't start with a biblical worldview of the
- 7:08human body of human beings, of human sexuality and recognizing God as creator, you get wildly off
- 7:15and that's where we're at today in 2025. There's so much I want to follow up on based on what you
- 7:22just shared. First of all, we're blessed to have Sheryl Chumley on the podcast a week or two
- 7:26ago. She's got a brand new book out God given or bust. But we even I don't want to say even in
- 7:32the church, but I think Americans generally have gotten away from that because they don't teach
- 7:36God given rights in our schools anymore. It's government. Government gives you everything, right?
- 7:42Yeah, and they don't even teach God given rights in the church, unfortunately, because the church
- 7:46has largely bought into this myth of separation of church and state that the church is only supposed
- 7:51to teach whatever is commonly accepted in culture. That's okay from the Bible. So they kind of a
- 7:59a lot of pastors will brush over some of those verses that talk about homosexuality or talk about
- 8:05politics, Romans 13 for example, or they'll reinvent that to suggest that, you know, we just have
- 8:10to seed to whatever our current government suggests, which is wholly inconsistent with the
- 8:15full council of God. And so churches even are refusing to stand up in America today for fundamental
- 8:22truths and to say that if Christians want to continue to build a moral and upright society
- 8:28and build upon what our founders rightly recognize, Christians have to engage as good citizens. We
- 8:34have to steward our country. And the separation of church and state only means what Jefferson wrote
- 8:39to the Danbury Church, which is that they are different spheres or jurisdictional authority, but
- 8:45still under God's ultimate divine authority. So in scripture, we see three spheres of government
- 8:50that God ordained, the church government, the family government, and the civil government. They all
- 8:54have different authority, but they're all under God's ultimate divine law and his truth. And
- 9:01that's what I go into in my book. Yes, and I thank you. I remember you put the you make it even
- 9:06simple for even someone like me to understand you put the spheres there with the different forms
- 9:10of government before I get credit to my dad for that, by the way, because he's an engineer and he
- 9:15told me in reading my manuscript because you got to put it into visual. He's the one you actually
- 9:20did those kudos dad. So I really want to emphasize your book. This isn't the reason I wanted to have
- 9:28you on because I want to talk about the op ed and how we got here in the battles today, the cultural
- 9:33battles, which are battles in the church as well, and are affected by our silent pulpits in part.
- 9:40But I want to go back to something you said when you first talked about the consequences,
- 9:44the the current crisis about where we're at today, how we got here, this goes back. I think you
- 9:49mentioned the 60s. You may have said the 50s. I'm thinking Margaret Sanger, Alfred Kinsey,
- 9:56Hugh Hefner. I'm thinking anyway, I'm sure there is more. These people go back even further. I
- 10:02mean, Sanger to the 20s and Planned Parenthood. Here we are today, given them our tax dollars.
- 10:08So this battle even goes back further that set the stage for the 60s, the sexual review revolution
- 10:15your thoughts. Yeah, absolutely. And we see even with the rise of the big bureaucratic state that
- 10:23was in the 1920s with the ratification, for example, the 16th and 17th amendments that I think were
- 10:28the two worst amendments that we ratified in the US Constitution. A lot of this big bloat you
- 10:33want to talk about USAID funding and funding things like drag queen plays over in foreign countries
- 10:41and all of this millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood. All of those things are only possible
- 10:46because of the rise in the bureaucratic state in the 1920s. Barry Goldwater talked about this
- 10:51quite a bit in one of his books. When he said that even Republicans were signing on to this ridiculous
- 10:57notion that taxation on the federal level means that the government can then just spend tax dollars
- 11:03however they prefer without the consent of the American people. And that's not fiscally responsible,
- 11:08nor is it a conservative principle and conservatism of course, what does that mean? The root word is
- 11:13conserving something. What are we conserving? Ultimately truth, which is the person of God and the
- 11:18legitimate authority that comes from him. So if we genuinely want to be conservatives, we first have
- 11:23to be biblical. And that's going to be a nice transition to talk about the church briefly before
- 11:29we take a very short pause. You say in your op ed, this crisis is not merely political. It is
- 11:37spiritual at its core. I mean, you've got to look at some of these things that are going on and say
- 11:44it's demonic. It is spiritually from a biblical perspective. These are demonic agendas that are being
- 11:49carried out. And I think the left is so good at changing the language and using talking points
- 11:54and convincing people that they're compassionate or whatever, they get away with it. You say as
- 12:01society drifts further from the creator's design, the consequences are increasingly evident.
- 12:09The problem is, Jenna, the media doesn't talk about the consequences. Hollywood doesn't talk about
- 12:14the consequences. Target corporations don't talk about, do they? Well, this is why alternative media,
- 12:21like your podcast, my radio show, are so incredibly important because legacy media for too long has been
- 12:27gatekeepers and look at the funding that we've seen from the government to Politico. I mean,
- 12:31$8 million annually just for Politico pro subscriptions. None of the feds need to subscribe to Politico
- 12:37any more than they need to subscribe to better homes and gardens. I mean, it's really a money laundering
- 12:41scheme, right? And so all of this requires us to go back and look at the eternal principles
- 12:47of Scripture. Ephesians 5 talks about taking advantage of every opportunity because the days are
- 12:52evil. That was true, even in the Apostle Paul's day in ancient Rome, like it is today. And there
- 12:58are actually a lot of parallels, unfortunately, between the left and ancient Rome, child sacrifice,
- 13:04paganism, so much of that. But the contention and the flashpoints that will always be there with
- 13:12a Christian worldview versus every other false worldview that is antithetical to Scripture
- 13:18will be there until Jesus calls us home or he returns. And we know that this world has fallen.
- 13:23And that's why Christians have to not only be eternally vigilant, but we also have to be prepared
- 13:28and why worldview matters because if we are going to contend for these things in the public square,
- 13:34not just with this whole idea will first you have to evangelize and have people accept Christian
- 13:39truth before you can talk about pro life, before you can talk about the importance of pro life
- 13:44policy, before you can talk about capitalism, all of these things, then we're seeding the argument
- 13:48before we've even begottened because I can argue rationally for Christian principles much like
- 13:54C.S. Lewis argued for the rationality of Christianity just with a self-evident truth of the world,
- 14:00before I even engage someone on what they believe about God or whether or not they believe in him.
- 14:05We are confined naturally to the reality to which God presented us. And even if Donald Trump
- 14:11isn't overtly pressing biblical principles as much as say maybe a governor,
- 14:15Ron DeSantis would have this president, he is still championing common sense, he's championing
- 14:20truth, he's championing reality, like saying men can't compete in women's sports.
- 14:26That's a biblical principle, but you don't have to be a Christian to simply affirm that reality
- 14:32shows there are only two genders. Amen. Just amazing. One of the I wrote a book last year,
- 14:39a year and a half ago, one of the chapters was, what are great grandparents think?
- 14:42And just if we were having these conversations, even for the president to have to say,
- 14:46here's an executive order stating, you know, men or men, women or women, anyway, Jenna,
- 14:52how can people tune into your podcast, Jenna, or your radio show, Jenna Ellis in the morning?
- 14:58Thanks, go to afr.net, find your local station, or you can download our free app and stream

- 15:28Hey guys, first I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. We've been at this for
- 15:40under two years. And our viewers and the audience is growing thanks to you sharing.
- 15:45The podcast really important. I know some of you contribute financially. God bless you.
- 15:49Some of you pray for us. God bless you, but sharing gets us out there. And now I,
- 15:54from what I understand, I was just told we've been averaging a quarter of a million downloads per
- 15:59podcast thanks to you and it's growing. Praise God. So Jenna Ellis, I wanted to ask you, you started
- 16:08off your book. I'm going to get to the introduction something I wanted to read for our viewers and
- 16:14listeners, but you quote a lot of our founding fathers and you decided to put this one before you
- 16:18said anything else in the book. John Adams said we have no government armed with power capable
- 16:24of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our constitution was made
- 16:32only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
- 16:40Just share why you decided to put that read at the beginning of your book.
- 16:44Yeah, I think that encapsulates specifically why we are responsible for being eternally vigilant
- 16:52and we are responsible in the United States for the gift of the blessings of liberty and how our
- 16:58founders provided Americans with a very unique opportunity that we are actually in control of our
- 17:05own government. Now it may not seem that way because we've seeded so much power to a big bureaucracy,
- 17:10but at the end of the day, we cannot force morality on people. It has to come from within. It
- 17:18has to come from the culture and ultimately it has to come from the church. And so while so many,
- 17:24especially in the Maga movement, which is doing a lot of really good things, a godless populism
- 17:30is not going to create a moral and upright society. A constitutional republic can only
- 17:36persist with the necessary guardrails and framework of moral limitations and truth. One of my favorite
- 17:43authors, Ozginnus, framed it this way where he said freedom is not the ability to do what we want.
- 17:51Freedom is the ability to do what we ought. And as Christians, we need to recognize that freedom
- 17:57in Christ is all about limitations in our accesses and being willing to submit to the divine authority
- 18:05of Jesus Christ rather than our own sinful nature. And I think that's exactly what John
- 18:11Quincy Adams was striving toward. It makes me wonder if many of our founding fathers could see
- 18:20for 24 hours just be alive in 2025 and see just the state of the church and then our government.
- 18:28I think they would flip. They wouldn't recognize America, I don't think. But let me go to the
- 18:33opening. They want to sail to another new world, I think. Start over. So your introduction is
- 18:40fascinating because I'm just read this. I started, Jenna is writing. I started writing this book
- 18:46well before, or Bergerfeld versus Hodges, same-sex marriage decision was handed down in June of 2015.
- 18:52That Supreme Court opinion simply further necessitated a comprehensive logical and legal argument
- 18:59for a moral basis to constitutional interpretation in the aftermath of that decision. Here we are
- 19:0710 years later. The states and the American people in general were left in a constitutional crisis
- 19:15greater than we have ever faced since the original constitutional convention in 1787. That's a
- 19:23powerful and provocative statement, Jenna, but I agree with you. But looking back now, I mean,
- 19:29you're thinking, yeah, yeah, that book, 2015, then that court case came out and look, you can
- 19:35see all the consequences of it, the Hollywood and the media and what's happening in our public
- 19:41schools, the government run education, your thoughts on where we are from when you started writing
- 19:47this book 10 years ago. Yeah, that introduction I've gone back and read a couple of times recently,
- 19:54and it is really profound that I mean, I gave it about 20 years before the left would be openly
- 20:01advocating for pedophilia, for example, it didn't even take us 20 years, it didn't even take us 10.
- 20:06I mean, this is how rapid the escalation into utter debauchery and licentiousness has been in
- 20:12the society because if we if we basically affirm evil through our legitimacy in government and
- 20:21through the Supreme Court in particular, but through the law and the legal process, then there's
- 20:26no limitations and no limiting principle to what evil will possess. And this is why I believe,
- 20:33and I also wrote in the introduction, this is why I believe that the LGBTQ movement was so
- 20:39insistent on a legal recognition of homosexual marriage, if all they wanted was the same benefits
- 20:44and liberties, they would have those. I mean, I'm a single woman and I have just as much right
- 20:49to to give my estate or, you know, have my will or have power of attorney or anything else
- 20:56as anyone who's married, maybe, you know, not some tax benefits, but that's about it. And that could
- 21:01come through civil unions, for example, it doesn't have to be termed marriage, but the reason that
- 21:06they wanted it to be marriage is because they they wanted to undercut that moral institution that
- 21:13God himself created and they wanted to redefine it for the purposes of having a moral stamp of approval.
- 21:20And once the Supreme Court gave them that, then there was no limiting principle. I mean, right now,
- 21:25we at AFA action are even contemplating some of the legislation and some of the executive rules
- 21:31that have come out from the states in the wake of Obergefell over the last 10 years that are still
- 21:37being perpetuated. So, for example, in Massachusetts, there's a parentage act that is undercutting
- 21:44parental rights simply for the reason that they don't want to have parentage vested in the
- 21:51biological parents. They think that that is just a celebration or a right that can be transferred
- 21:58to even a homosexual couple, which in principle and by definition cannot procreate. So,
- 22:03all of these things have led to disastrous effects. And this is why over the next four years of
- 22:09a Trump administration, I think we've gotten a reprieve in some sense, but Christians have a lot
- 22:16of work to do to push the Trump administration to go as far as we can and also Congress and the
- 22:22state legislatures to codify as much as possible, have those legal battles and challenges,
- 22:28so that we can have enduring wins, not just for the next four years, not just for the next 40,
- 22:34but if the Lord Terry is the next 400 or more of America's existence.
- 22:39So, less than two years actually, if you think about midterms, we've got a lot of work to do,
- 22:44because the decline in the decay has been going downward for so many decades, Jenna.
- 22:50But I know I'm preaching to the choir here. So, eight in 10 Americans don't want boys
- 22:54in girl sports, for example. A headline I read to start off the show. Let's talk about target.
- 22:59I was writing, and I'm sure you were writing back at this time as well, when they decided to change
- 23:04their bathroom policy to allow biological men in the women's, or restrooms or dressing rooms.
- 23:10But even before that, they had, I believe that at that time, 2012 is when they started with the
- 23:15LGBTQ pride section. Don't quote me on that, but it's right around there. This was before the
- 23:20Supreme Court decision in 2015. Talk about what we're doing as far as target. I know the AFA has
- 23:27lifted their boycott, which I'm thinking, okay, they're not going to change their worldview
- 23:32all of a sudden. They're just, it's about money, right? Maybe the message got through, but what are
- 23:37your thoughts on where we're at with target in these corporations? Yeah, I think it is all about
- 23:42money more than it is about worldview, which is why it was really interesting to see companies
- 23:47like Bud Light, for example, and John Deere go completely against their main constituency. I mean,
- 23:53let's be honest, those are, you know, red states men who are consuming some of those items more
- 23:58than, you know, the liberal, you know, flowers, delicate flowers over there in California, right?
- 24:03So it's interesting that they would be going against their own bottom line, but for corporations,
- 24:07you know, like target or even Facebook and meta. I mean, Mark Zuckerberg hasn't changed his
- 24:12basic philosophy. I don't think that he's had suddenly a worldview epiphany. It's simply that
- 24:17Donald Trump is back in office. If this was Kamala Harris and thank the Lord that it's not, he
- 24:23wouldn't be ending his censorship of conservatives. So this is why it really matters. And I think
- 24:28the timeliness here of AFA's, of AFA to call for the end of, of the target boycott is purposeful
- 24:36for this reason. Boycotts work, but also in terms of stopping the flow of money. But now that
- 24:43target is bursting a lot of its policies and going more conservative is they see a huge increase
- 24:51of what I would call an affirmative boycott of actually funding the policies that are good.
- 24:58Then maybe we will see a longer term initiative from target and they won't just go back to their
- 25:04LGBTQ woke nonsense as soon as Trump leaves office. So I think the timing of this is very intentional
- 25:11from AFA's card. Interesting. We're running out of time quickly and we didn't get the USAID,
- 25:17but just your thoughts on the corruption and what they have funded with billions and billions of
- 25:25American tax dollars. Yeah, thank you for putting up that article and there's many places you can
- 25:30get details on this, friends, but the most outrageous and horrific things USAID did with your
- 25:36tax dollars. That's over at Town Hall. There's just some astounding perverted and demonic things
- 25:43that don't do anything for America, but it's all about ideology in this, this spiritual battle,
- 25:48isn't it Jenna? Absolutely. And this is why it's great that President Trump and Secretary of
- 25:54State Rubio are simply halting all funding of USAID until all of these things can be looked into.
- 26:00That's the appropriate move because our tax dollars should not be spent. I'm horrified that my
- 26:05tax dollars went to these kinds of things. I would really like a refund and say, you know, I don't
- 26:10want to have that on my conscience that, you know, I paid my taxes and now the federal government
- 26:16has done these extremely evil things. And this is why tax reform is also critical, I think, so that
- 26:22Americans understand where tax dollars are going. We need to have opt-outs of a lot of these things
- 26:27because imagine, David, if the federal government had to actually convince the American people and
- 26:32you know, have things like go fund me campaigns and say, hey, this is where we would like to fund
- 26:36these things. How many of these programs would absolutely fall flat on their faces? That's where
- 26:41the government has been reckless and they need to be held accountable. I'm really grateful for
- 26:46Elon Musk and Doge in this respect as well. So friends, just check out that book, the legal
- 26:53basis for a moral constitution from Jenna Ellis and her podcast. Do you have any other articles,
- 26:58op-eds, maybe another book in the works? What's going on with you, Jenna? I do have another book
- 27:03in the works. I'm really excited about that. So hopefully that'll be coming out, you know,
- 27:07relatively soon. But I also publish a column weekly in American Family News. You can find that
