- Audio: So welcome back to the Just Right podcast and today we're delighted to welcome two very special guests to the studio and for the first time as husband and wife Jasmine and Harry Hinkley. So we've known Jazz and Harry since the ABR Festival back in 2025 and over the last couple of years we've had the privilege of watching them help transform CFMOTO UK into one of the most talked about motorcycle brands in the country. Today we're going to talk about that journey, what it's really like on taking some of the biggest names in the motorcycling industry, what drives them, where CFMOTO is heading and why they're having so much fun doing it, which we'll get into later. We're also looking forward to spending some time with the CF Moto team at their headquarters down in Lincolnshire, to do some off road training. And that's the head on, I think that's on the 450 MT's as we prepare for our trip to Portugal to actually ride them. So we're looking forward to that. But for tonight, welcome to Just Ride. Thank you. You get two cheers. get two cheers. But I mean, literally, first of all, mean, a massive congratulations, guys, for what looked like festival than a wedding. think we were all quite impressed. I mean, we couldn't, we couldn't come obviously because of a commitment. I mean, I know, I mean, we couldn't, were filming. like you had an absolute blast of a day and I was so happy for you guys. that now a festival every year that you're going to do? Just, that's what everyone's asking. Yeah. I said five years. It needs to mean something every year. Because if we do that festival, could we actually come to that festival? Absolutely. We'll pay tickets. 100 % No, you don't need to pay. How was it though? mean, with everything, I remember when you obviously we met your ABR again, you came on the podcast, the small little podcast at the lounge at ABR and I know it was about two weeks, wasn't it? At that point. And you were just so calm. It was like you're getting married in two weeks. But I think ABR for you guys must have been amazing. you want to kind of talk us through how that was? If we start there and then we'll kind of unpack. Lots of other things, but how was ABR for you guys? ABR was amazing, yet again. Yeah, we did circa five, 600 test rides over the course of the day. So yeah, phenomenal. I we, it looked like we had the most bikes out for demo in compared to all the big manufacturers. Yeah. A huge buzz on the stand. Everyone coming up to us and being like, wow, look what you guys are doing. It was definitely, we came in with a bang. Yeah. One of the things I didn't realize though was that there was the road bikes there as well. So I was expecting the adventure bikes. I didn't realize the road bikes were going to be there. Otherwise I might have brought some of my road kit because I would have loved to have gotten the 675 as well. I think that would have been really nice. would have been a bike to ride. Yeah, I think it's a fun bike. That triple is a lot of fun. I like it in both the NK and the SRR version, but it's good to cater for everyone because there's not just adventure riders there and also adventure riders like to ride. And we had Richard Cooper as the guide rider for the road. He's now racing at Cadwell and the last three rounds of the BSB Sports Bar. That's pretty phenomenal. On the 675. I nice. hear all I know, because I saw the footage, of the team, the Just Ride team managed to get on the, where they were supposed to go on the MT. Is it the 450 MT's? And they turned up on the Sunday with all the kit. And I think Robbie Wallace. went as well because he rode with you. couldn't call it kit. We couldn't call it kit. It was just stuffed out of the garage. Yeah. The cobble cobble some stuff together. And I had to stay on the stand obviously because someone had to man the stand and be professional. But you guys all went off to do with you with all your gear on. It was amazing. And you were like, apparently you were on the thousands. Yes. I was nipped up. Let's put that. That's been polite. didn't bring enough 450s to ABR did we? But we just launched a thousand. So it was kind of good that we push people. And myself included ended up going out on the thousand as well, but it's fine. actually liked the thousand. I did. liked the response to the bike and everything else. was like, was everything I was expecting from a thousand since the engine. but yeah, the 450 was something that we wanted to go on, but when we got in the thousands and obviously our first time off, off tarmac and it was like, wow, this is like, wow. Do you remember having a conversation saying. It's going to be fine. It's just all going to be flat, a little bit of gravel. It'll be fine. And it wasn't like that. All I got to say is when we went on that one part with the hill and I was 50 pence, 20 pence, 50 pence, 20 pence. Because I thought this isn't flat. This isn't what I'm expecting. But very grateful to get the opportunity to ride the bikes. Yeah. Thank you so much. Because I was behind you and you didn't, you didn't look out of place. You looked like you were smashing it. Well, that's really good. Did you see his little wobble going up the bank? No, not no. There was a guy in our group that came off on the hill there, wasn't there? Yeah, I had a bit of a wobble on there. So some guy, so they'd said, had no, so, plumbing in the briefing beforehand had said, whatever you do, give plenty of space to the person in front. So I'd given a bit of space to the guy in front of me. And it was, you came down a bit of a bank, there's a little bit of a dip at the bottom and then you were going up and it was banking round to the right. And it was a bit of a, and he just seemed to slow right down as I was coming up. So I then backed off and then the back end sort of like stumped, jumped around and I thought I'm either going off and I'm thinking I'm not going up. No way am I coming off this. And I just thought I've got to recover my position. What am I going to do? And before we can out Robbie, you just said to me, if in doubt, gas it out. So I just went it's on whack and just turned on the bike, just pulled me right around the bend and it was great. And I knew we had comms on. So we were talking on comms. And they were, wow, Andy, that's great. And I was like, yeah, all under control. That's all under control. wasn't, it was pure luck. did people enjoy the most then? Was it the thousands or the 450s? What sort of feedback did you get? I think more people wanted to go on the 450 because it's like the unicorn bike that everybody is like the easy, it sounds, it's less intimidating for a first time off road, but we've had a lot of really positive feedback from the thousand, haven't we? I think that people are most impressed with a thousand. everyone kind of knows about the 450, they've seen the reviews, they're positive, so they knew what to expect, but the 1000, everyone's like, wow, actually, I really like this bike, it feels planted, it feels capable, off-road, on-road, yeah, so I think that was the biggest. biggest enjoyment people had. When we come down then I only want to go on the 450 do not put me on the because these guys are all experienced off roaders. Break me in gently. We could send you out on a 6M5 because apparently someone tried to join the off road group on the 6M5 SRR sports bike. No way. Got to the Bridgestone trail and they wouldn't let him on. He didn't know why. So someone had to turn around and go and collect him. And like, you know, you're on a road bike here. It's not a, it's not an off road bike. yeah. that would have been hilarious. And didn't you do some of Robbie? think I'm sure we've got some, footage. Did you and Robbie go for it? Yeah, we went for a spin. What was it like? It was great fun. we got told off pretty quickly. You are Robbie. well, pair of us, there was a group we were trying to overtake. neither of us realized there's a speed limit on the Bridgestone on yes, Bridgestone course. so then we. we were a bit more sensible. But yeah, it was good fun. We also, did the TRF trail, which is a little bit more open, a bit more adventurous. Yeah, we just had a lot of fun. We swapped bikes, we were on the 1000 and the 450. You did the bog of doom, didn't you? Didn't you get stuck in the bog of doom? We both got stuck in the bog of doom. I had the honor of actually seeing the bog of doom, because obviously, I've never seen it on screen. So me and Tom went down. because we were going to film you and Robbie. They took it down in the ATV. We went down there and when I saw the Bargadome I thought, how's anybody going to get through that? Because it's so deep. tip my hat off to you because obviously I wouldn't have gone through it on, especially on a thousand. Just gas it. Yeah, just send it. Just, I mean, if it doubts send it like full gas. Wasn't there like an easier line and a not so good line? Yeah, obviously as they develop through the week or the weekend, they get deeper and deeper. And the problem with 1000 MTX is the low slung fuel tanks are just too wide because there's a lot of people through there on enduro bikes. That's why I got stuck. So who egged who on then? was hearing Robby because we know what Robby's like, I think you can imagine we both egged each other on. then even I did it, Robby got stuck and then they're like, you go through that, but you get... obviously I had to try and do it. then I nearly got through it. Yeah, I got a little stuck. Didn't he break something on the bike and offered to pay for it? bent the gear lever, bent the brake lever just where it caught on there because it's a big V. yeah, bent the brake lever. We were hoping he could have joined us in the green room later, but he's in Switzerland. Switzerland. Yeah. I forget to overplace that lad. He's not like the Dakar, you know, but he was wanting to come and join you. But it's probably a good idea that he hasn't because you know, you've got to be up early in the morning. If you had been here, you wouldn't have been up early in the morning. Well, it might still be up early. You might not have gone to bed. So what do you think you got out of the ABR Festival then? Last year, could say you guys were dead busy, but I think you brought much more to you this year. The stand was massive, wasn't it? The stand was really large, wasn't it? It was really big. Yeah, we doubled our stand this year. Last year, we'd only just taken on the bike contract, so we weren't doing demos. We only had a few bikes on display. But this year it was all about the demos. Yeah, it was, again, it was a learning year for us because we've never done it properly. So last year, like Jasmine said, we just kind of did it in terms of display. Everyone was like, you've not got any test rides. this year we obviously bought a lot of test rides and yeah, got people out there. And then we bring, we like to bring some fun challenges. So we did like a wheel hold challenge. Seen that. Raised money for prostate cancer. Prostate UK. Yeah, Andy, Andy unfortunately suffers with it. So something close to his heart. So we gave hats out for a donation. And we should have bought more because by the Thursday, the first day, all of them had gone. So I think we raised nearly 1800 quid for Prostate, which is fantastic. You definitely brought a lot of energy, but you bring energy to everything, don't you? The daytime. And the night time. we've got we've got loads of questions in terms of, you know, between you. But who do you think brings the most energy then? We've often wondered, it depends what time of day? Yeah, first thing in the morning, definitely not me. I've got an alter ego called Maureen the morning. So stay clear then. me a couple of hours. Yeah, I think we bounce off each other, don't we? Jasmine comes alive in the middle of the day and then I probably come back a lot towards the end of the night and don't want to get to bed. Yeah. I know when we've spoken, you mentioned that the challenge of going up against the sort of big brands and you you have, you've really gone up against them. But what do you think people felt like about CF Mortar when the first kind of heard CF Mortar? Do you think there was bit of not so much distrust, but they weren't quite sure about the brand? I mean, what? Yeah, I think there's a lot about the first question that we used to have was where's it made? And then it's made in China. And then that was probably five or 10 years ago. Obviously we've been with it a long time, but now people know they're aware of it. And that's not really a question anymore. It's quite interesting, like having done many years of being on event stands. Just a couple of years ago, you'd overhear people walk past the stand and be like, what's that? Never heard of that. it's Chinese. it's this and now you stand at the front of the stand and listen and it's like, yeah, so and so has got that. yes. You're free. They're meant to be really good. and that's really satisfying to see the growth and see the change of perception about it. Like, okay. Yeah, you can actually buy goodbye. buy. And it must be, it must be down to you guys because you're, you know, you're poor on Instagram and anything and you both there. Yeah. You are. I mean, you, must be the hardest working couple. married couple, you know, in the motorcycle business, because you just do see the energy and the thing that we talk about the Romanian accent. And I remember your comment, it's his baby. We'll jump on a little bit later on, but you must be really proud of what you've managed to really bring that energy in that brand. And people are talking about it. And I think from what we've seen and we've known you for a couple of years now is there must be coming away from what you've put them through and gone bloody hell. Cause it is that personality as well, isn't it? That really gets people telling us how the brands about and then they could have tried it and clearly what you're seeing as people. We're not pushing water uphill. It's burst and fall, mate. It's cause if the product wasn't very good, then we would struggle, but probably we wouldn't have that energy. But because we have the energy, we're also enthusiasts. I've been on a motorcycle for a lot of years and quads and passports and everything else. And Jasmine as well. Now she's, she's learning to ride bikes and getting more into it. And I think the fact, yeah, just the fact we're enthusiasts and we live, and breathe it. I was out on my motorbike this morning, riding. And equally over the weekend, as Andrew said, they're both working really, really hard. know that, Jas, you were at the Moto GP this weekend and you were over in Wales, you, this weekend? The Enduro GP. Enduro GP. So again, know, both supporting the brand and doing bits and pieces for CF Moto UK, I would imagine, and promoting everything. just hats off because it's just, well, how on earth do you manage to do everything? We have a fantastic team. I that's really important. They're the engine, they're the cops that actually make it happen. Of course, we're the figureheads, we're sort of the people that people, everyone that people see, but the people that make it happen are the people in the office, day to day, packing parcels, sending pallets out, sending units out, making sure people are looked after. So that's how we do it. So, so just when was the moment where you thought, I think we're onto something here. I think this is going to work really, really well. When can you remember that moment? Yeah, like we've, we've CFMoto. mean, Quasilla has been bringing CFMoto in for a long time, hasn't it? But I think probably in the last two years, think getting to number one market share in the four wheel side of the business, that's a bit like, wow. Like, and we, we, we look back on our goals and If you'd have asked me three, four years ago that we'd be ahead of Honda, I'd have been like, absolutely not. But, and then if you set a goal and then it seems to happen. So now number one market share for most, which sounds crazy, but that's we want. That's the goal. And I'm sure there's going to be loads of awards coming your way for the way that you're going. And you guys should be getting the awards for the amount of effort because honestly, the product, the product for yourself, like Obviously I came across CF mode our first time really was obviously on MotoGP because obviously me and Andy are massive MotoGP fans and obviously they sponsor one of the teams and so on and so forth from that. And then obviously then it started to come in because obviously you go years and years back here, Chinese bikes and it was they weren't the best. But now when these have come in and they're starting to be top brand bikes quality for the bike, but for a reasonable price as well. And that's what people want. They want that extra bit for their pound and that you guys do it and that's what's important. I think that the range of bikes you have just are going to put the other manufacturers under a lot of pressure over the next couple of years. think it's been a whole shift, hasn't it? been a whole shift in public's perception regarding Chinese built machinery because the cars are doing really well and there's certain Chinese brands are doing really well in cars, which is equal to the motorcycles as well. When we went to MCL last year, there was a huge stand, wasn't it? With loads of different Chinese brands, brands you'd never ever heard of. But then you're walking over and going, I really can't believe it's that price. I really can't believe it is that. And then you're walking over into the normal, I'll call it the normal. then you're, you you're talking for the bikes that you and I like, you're 25,000 quid, 30,000 quid. And you're but I can get, well, I could go and buy an adventure bike and I could go and buy a sports bike. still less than half price that I'm paying for one of those bikes. So the bike we got the ride the thousand. Yeah. If I had to go and say I wanted an adventure bike, a thousand CC and I had to pick between Andy's bike. He likes the other manufacturer. We did it with B and that I would go for the thousand your thousand because it's value for money and it was amazing to ride. And I would join him. I would join him. think the perception has changed in people. It's opened that door to actually value for money and people think, I want bank from my book. The other thing that we were discussing that's nice is that we're actually opening the door to new people. There's so many roadblocks, there's so many things that people can't do, but now we're bringing a bike that's priced right or machines that are priced right. Well, actually people that couldn't motorcycle before, it now becomes possible because it's a lot better price point. But don't get me wrong, like, you can buy some Chinese rubbish. And that still exists. But CFMOTO as a factory are so forward thinking with their R &D and like their head of the game. like I think some of the competitors, have many other products that they're producing. Whereas CFMOTO is only producing motorcycles, quads and side by sides and doing a really like developing it, bringing in new technology. So and then The bike's only as good as the backup, and I think that's where we are succeeding because we back up our product, don't we? We have a great dealer network, we have parts warehouse full of parts for next day delivery. Because you could buy a bike, but if you can't get parts for it, then. And that's one of the biggest things. As soon as you say it's Chinese, the first question is, you won't be able to get parts. But for us to take four wheel to number one market share, has proven that those machines is generally in agriculture that's for a job. So if they can't get that bike back on the road, then they're not buying another one. No, it's no good. I'll go to the next brand. No, yeah. it's a tool. Like most farmers, it's a tool. It's not a purchase for the heart. It's, it's got to make sense financially and it's got to be a tool that works. Everyone knows if it doesn't work, then you're not going to keep it. Yeah. And I think as in the, the gentleman who's been on top gear, hasn't he got one of them now as well? noticed. on his, this season sure has he bought it outright. Yeah. Well, we, we demoed it against the number of other UTVs for a day and we thought it was going to be attracted to test type that they did before, but no, was literally just a test, test, which one was the best. then a week later, they just went out and bought one from a dealership and that we only found out from looking at the warranty registration and being like, that's the production company that, nice. Yeah. then we're all like, waiting with baited breath to see who we're here for, when it's gonna come. And then, yeah, it's like the fifth episode, it's just like front and center. Wow. I've got a new UTV and he doesn't, you can tell there's no brand association, cause he doesn't mention the brand. He doesn't like mention CFMOTO or what it is, but it's there and they're like, this is really comfortable. They do use the winch, like, this is really powerful. And I think Lisa's comment was like, this is the best machine we've got on the farm. I'll show you when we finished, I've got the stats from our web web page views for UTVs. The day that that episode aired, it's just like, what was the bike then do you think that's really changed people's perceptions and confidence? It's got to be the 450 MT. I was thinking about this the other day, CFMATRE actually created that market. That segment there they created the let's say middle weight middle to lightweight adventure bike the 450 MT parallel twin BMW copy there's so many people that are actually copying CF moto now and it's like wow, that's pretty pretty impressive So yeah, I think they just just happened upon a really good structure a really good bike with geometry everything because even now People are trying to copy it. They're actually not they're not beating them in reviews. Yeah 450MT's got to maturity, the accessories are there, everyone's happy with the backup, with the product, and people still can't beat it. But it's been proven, like I said, it's been proven. So you ain't gonna look at something else when something's been proven, if you guys, like you said, it's been proven in population, people have views in the body. So you're gonna go on recommendations, so it's out there now. I wouldn't look at anything else, I'd look at that because you go on... what people see when they ride the bike. It's just a massive confidence giving bike. For me, who's only been riding bikes on and off and by no means competitively for four or five years, all off road. I obviously learned on a motocross bike, on an enduro bike, which I'd only ever ridden up to a 250 before. And then getting on that, I'm like, it's a 450, it's bigger and it looks bigger and heavier. Riding it is just so easy. It's so smooth, it's so forgiving. It's like a mounting goat. it will just, you can just put in second and it will just do anything. it's, yeah. And it comes with all those features that in many other brands you've got to pay for as an additional, you know, so it comes with fully loaded. Yeah. So even when you, when you, when your price comparison, like other manufacturers and CF motor generally you've got, okay, that's your base price. That's your base price. But actually you need to go and add another five grand on top of that to actually make it comparison. Was that the one we were sat on at Teasdale? Because Teasdale Motorcycle is one of yours, it's literally down the road from us and they spent a fortune on that dealership. Have you been? We've not been, but I do know of it. You'll pass it on the way home to We can get you to, at it's just off the United Kingdom's border, have a look at it. It is a phenomenal, phenomenal dealership. Andy spent an absolute fortune. And we went in and we could see your bikes on them. like, what was the big one? The big screen? Was that the 1000? that we saw. I it a thousand, because I thought I'm riding that. The 800MTES has literally just been launched. That's got quite a big... Yeah, it's got electric suspension. It's got the same screen as the 1000. It's got a radar on the back of it. It's got everything. Yeah. control. He creates his... The big brands, mean, you know, it must have been quite intimidating going up against brands that have got 78 years worth of heritage. And I just remember you saying to me, I'm up against like these... Big, big brand. We're with a big voice. You must now be thinking, yeah, well, you we're holding, you're holding your own now, aren't you really? It's quite fun. It's like a bit like crazy. But it's good. think it's good because at the end of the day, the other manufacturers have had no competition. They've all got their levels. Someone's come in and gone, I'm going to take you guys on. and going to prove that you can do it at a different level. And that's what it's done. And I think it's a, I think it's the best thing for the industry to be honest. We charted MCL last year, how the legacy market is really going to know the competition that's come in. They've got a change in way in which they're marketing their products and they've got to look at ways in which they could make them more competitive. You know, so you look at the, we went onto the Yamaha stand and I liked the Tenere. think it's a great buy. We go on the Tenere, but you're still paying a big chunk of money. You know, a big chunk of money. And again, it's that. because of the way in which the brand has been, the CFMoto has been seen and the way people are raving about it, you've got to go and look around, haven't you? You've got to go and try. I think the thing for me is the benefit of ABL was trying it, the leg over the 1000C and trying it. I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't disappointed. All I've heard since we got back. And like us, obviously, we are not novices anymore. You're going to be clearing the table top when you come see us. Is that a challenge? know me, I like it. Andrew's got stabilizers on his. Tell everybody, don't tell the viewers I've got stabilized. I need to get my confidence up. But I mean, how, how hard is it then convincing somebody to, know, to spend eight grand on a brand that they've not really heard of before? I mean, obviously now it's probably a lot easier, but did you, did you have that problem? You must have had that problem at some point. Yeah, you've definitely got that initial stage and having been to a lot of, I've been a dozen years, I've been in Quasilo selling CFMoto and it's gone from like Jasmine said, what's this to, I've heard of that. my friend's got one too. I've got one. And then you have this really nice positivity on the stands that probably a lot of other manufacturers or lot of the products don't have where people go, yeah, I've got it. It's really good. my line is like they're always impressed by the quality and the capability yeah I've I don't think I've ever met anyone come on the stand who's gone bought one I'm really disappointed I've never heard that I wanted more I was expecting more everyone's like yeah still more it keeps going I love it and that was that was interesting so we were looking at some of the questions we're asking in what is the probably the biggest misconception that people have about it is is it the fact that they don't think it's gonna be good quality or is there anything else Parts I'd say, they're like, well, we get part, I've already said that. But, that's it really. I think parts and I think quality, think people probably expect it to the bolts to drop out and then it's all to pieces. But it's not like that everyone. You've got to look at the origin of motorcycles and whether they're a Japanese, European and English brand and actually look where it's manufactured because the brand might be from one country, but the reality. is it's produced somewhere else and there's nothing wrong with that but it just it needs to level the playing field and be like actually we're all produced in a country but it's the quality. Every single motorcycle from CFMoto and Quad is ridden before it's dissembled and put back in the crate and then shipped. So we know, I've been there, I've seen the test course, they do a brake check, they do a light check and that attention to detail gives us confidence when it gets to the dealer. it's gonna run, it's gonna be ride. And haven't they just done a deal with Brembo brakes as well, haven't they? That's just recently been announced, hasn't it? So again, a quality product that is gonna be added to a lovely bike. So pretty much all the fuel systems are Bosch. They work with good companies. That's interesting, isn't it? If those level of brands are now going... We need to be working with these guys. So that must be making some kind of difference then, you know, to get that trust from the big brands go now we need, we need to be working with those guys. Do you want to get on board with it? They see, well, it's taken a long time. Like only that's probably only the last year, 18 months that people have actually taken it seriously and we need to get on board with this. But they've done so well in, in motor three, haven't they? They've done really well in motor three. All. And then obviously they've got the motor two, which is sponsorship and I know there's the things about the motor two. were you watching it at the weekend? yes. Did you see Danny Holgado? I was in the garage watching it and it was like, I was like, we're going to be celebrating soon. Like he's in first, he's in first and then... Yeah. The QJ guy celebrated too early. Yeah. Yeah. Dramatic. Thank you for the invitation of the weekend. I'm sorry that Scott and I couldn't come along. Yeah. We, we both Scott and I really love watching the MotoGP stuff. So So going back to the wedding then, who organised what? Obviously me. I pretty much did everything. I had your stamp all over it. Is this one of those moments where you're bent to each other? I think he, the only thing you organised was the humongous great sound system and the laser lights and I did everything. the power. We've been to your after show party, ABR, remember we, yeah, and then the security came obviously and Tom, because producer Tom's a bit of DJ, apparently he's going to show you his decks. that's not how you can do that. He's going to show you his decks. But I remember this you security came over and asked you to turn it down. I was just getting in the way. It was I did let us carry on for a bit. But then I think an hour an hour later they came back and we're like, I you have to turn it off now. Well, I just remember just in right you lot go. That's how we're cute. I think that they were quite lenient to be honest. They let us go for a while. That was the England game night. Wasn't it that part? Yeah. It was England game night. So let's, let's jump into the Romanian accent. Because I know this. Yeah. Do you want to tell me about Romania? Yeah. us through what that was all about for you. And so I was very fortunate because the factory were on board with it. They sponsor the event and they help with the entry and ship the bike over there. I've never done a rally with a GPS. I've never done a GPS race. I've never done a multiple day event or multiple day race. And yeah, we we just went out racing. went by myself. We got Luke who works with us, Luke Backenbree, he came over. It's just bananas. I struggled to describe it, but I would encourage anyone who's interested to check it out because you could be, like, we all see the really, really insane rides and my calamity's on the stairs where I've been it and I've gone bit viral. think. I thought you got lost. I actually went down the wrong bit. was stood, there's a video and this one stood kind of in front of a foot well or a staircase down and I go right, which is the ultimate course. So only like the top, top riders do that. And yeah, I've just, I'm wrestling with the bike down there for like two and a half, three minutes. I've got the full video. And luckily Evan, an American guy came up and he's like. Is that Harry? And I'm like, lame. My bike's like past 90, six hours into riding. Yeah, and I had to pick it up, a fantastic event. I'm very proud of what we did. Like in terms of the finish, I didn't finish. We've literally just been investigating the bike and think that the lamp, yeah, I'll tell you the story. So we did prologue, 11th place in core, which was like, wow, I'm doing really well here. Did the first day of racing. And then I was 10th place and I thought I'm probably go a bit quicker. So I'll get going. and then I passed a couple of people on the road. and then I get stuck behind a rider and I thought he'd let, I got past him, thought he'd let me pass to get, I got stuck, thought he'd let me past. And then I just give it all the beans. I want a little 450. He's on an 800 got past him. Didn't know there's a dog leg coming up over a bridge. I've hit this Pete. come down, I've hit this piece of granite, I've folded the skid plate into the exhaust, I've created an electrical fault, and basically had to retire. If you can't get your GPS to the finish, then you're out of the rally. So we got it back to the workshop today and think it was the lambda sensor where I pushed the whole exhaust system back. It's the lambda sensors pressing on the chassis and shorting it out. playing fuses. How are you make it sound so easy? even prologue. Yeah. I mean, that was, I mean, it's just like an obstacle course, isn't it? I mean, it's an obstacle course with crowds either side. And lots of, and I was thinking that metal railings are really close. You don't have any, any pre-practice. you, got there at 6 AM. you get to walk the track and then you got in order and that's it. You get one lap. And to be honest, in the level I'm riding, it doesn't matter. You could just go, you don't even need to do it. When you do it at the pro level, that time gets added to your total time. Whereas us, it was just the start position. Weren't you faster than Sam Sunderland? Yeah, I was the quickest Brit. quickest Brit. That's another t-shirt. But he did overtake me and finish. Yeah, of course he did. But I watched some of the socials and it was somewhere the guys were on that sort of... the obstacle course prologue part. And then they came to a point where they backed out and gassed off and the bike just basically fell off and they did a somersault and the bike landed on top of them. And the number of people that seemed to happen to, and you're thinking, when you're just watching the last guy, you know, this just done exactly the same thing. think it looks from, it would be a relatively easy cause if you were able just to do it by yourself. But I think you've got other riders around you. You've got the crowd watching you. You've got the pressure. You've not warmed up. You're not ready to go. it's, it, there's a lot to take in. It's yeah, it's just so much. And, and yeah, probably quite easy if you looked at it, but when you're in the moment, it's very different. lot of people breaking the sumps. Yeah. They must've been quite a bit of oil on the actual course. Yeah. Somebody actually split their sump open. I was watching the races and they split the sump open and I carried on riding it. was like, Because you're going to like it because they're like on the gas and it's just spinning in the oil. What surprised you the most out of that whole event? And do you think the togetherness of everyone there and how much people are willing to help and how forthcoming they are to help people in Romania like people there was homeless people, people buying food for him, these dogs and there was dogs on the side of the service part. and they would feed it, it's just so heartwarming. That was the best, that was the most, yeah. When you couldn't get your bike started after your crash, you just rolled down the hill and there were some local guys camping who gave you a beer and food, but first thing they like, do want a beer? And I was like, yeah, and they were giving food. I went for a swim in the river, because if you're okay, you're responsible for getting your bike back. I think if you've got a medical emergency, they're on it. But in terms of if you've broken down, you sort yourself out. I started collecting tape to try and get myself towed back and then eventually someone stopped and towed me back down to get signal. Because I was so far in the middle of nowhere, I think I pushed the bike for about three, four kilometres before I even got towed to get signal. was just a random person who tows you, isn't it? Like, just people driving around like, were some guys who were working for the Romaniacs and I said to them, can you tow me? They're like, are you okay? And I was like, yeah. they're like, no. Should have said, yeah. Yeah, that's when you need Yeah, they were just like, leave the bike, come with us. I think that's the attitude. What would you do again? I'm going back next year. Are you doing it? No, I'm not doing it. You're going to be support. Yeah, I was meant to go this year, but the following week we had a big event that I needed to organize. But I did have quite a bit of FOMO. I would have liked to have gone this year. my preparation for next year. pick up the slack. Someone's got to be a bit of a theme coming along. I don't enjoy it. I don't like racing. Well, there's a couple of things on that. I just want to say is it's I think you're the pink outfit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Top notch. Shout out to Nick at Chicken Shit Racing, because he sorted me out. You're not going to get lost here. Top notch. Yeah. I just think, you know, I mean, that's just a light bulb moment. Top notch because, yeah, I just think it's extraordinary. It really is extraordinary. And it's fabulous guys. And we sorted it to ABR as well. As the marketing person who does a lot of editing and like when he's racing, there's hundreds of pictures of people riding. the pink is like easily spot it. Like a B R you see your miles off. He was like, is another is I didn't actually think that the time I just quite liked. Well, you know me, I quite like garish outfits and strong colors. And I designed that with Nick and and boy look cool. And that was that was why I bought it. Your signature outfit. That pink is an accent color of CFMoto's brand colors. So it also complements the brand, but it's only meant to be a slight accent, which you probably aren't. But Harry thought, no, I don't do slight accents. It doesn't do subtle. It's not subtle in that, it? No. So do people probably don't realize how much you do outside of motorcycling as well? Because I mean, when first met you, I didn't realize that the farming side of the business is quite large. You want to kind of tell the viewers what, because motorcycle, obviously seeing you doing what you're doing, but you want to tell people what you do outside of motorcycling then? It really is how we stumbled across CF Motor. Right. So back in 2005, we had a family business. My father found CF Motor at ECMA and they had a four wheel drive system on their table and was like, Are you creating quads? Because he at that point he was doing mainly kids quads. Yeah, he said send me first one send me for and that's back then. And that vehicle was suited to agriculture. So naturally, the quads and what CFMator were producing back then is as all the manufacturers were, it was way back in terms of technology and what it could do. And gradually, we've grown the business into this into this sport for for farmers and agriculture, equine and everything in that sort of domain. And now, well now as Jasmine said, we're number one in the UK for all wheel products, that's ATVs, quads, and buggies. And yeah, it's been a long journey, well 20 years. So yeah, it takes a long time to do that. How do you guys juggle then? Because I know you mentioned you were some kind of farming show and then you do, you know, How do you juggle everything? mean, there's just the two of I know you've got a big team. a team, yeah. But how do you prioritize where you put the, is it that seasonality thing or? It's a bit of seasonality. I think that what we've made it to, I think we've been doing the agricultural thing for enough years that it's kind of second nature to us. But that's not, we shouldn't take our foot off the gas. Like being number one is a dangerous position because they're coming for us. Whereas the motorcycles is newer and more exciting for us at the moment, isn't it? But that brings more work, I would say, and more preparation and planning and thinking. Yeah, but we've got a good team. Like there's been multiple times this year where we've had two or even three teams at different events all at the same time, systems and processes within the business, checklists, debriefs, post event, what would you do better? What wouldn't you do better? And I mean, I'm not going to lie, it's often a bit of a mad chaotic rush. And then somehow we just always pull it off. syndrome where it's you're peddling underneath like mad and it looks like calmness. But it doesn't look like that for us. just looks, I think that's what we always talk about when we talk about, your husband Harry is a fucking energy. I didn't swear them by the way. It's the energy, know, and I said, you were coming here today and I said to my wife, I said, just wait, you see the energy. If you do, you just exude that kind of, it's all about having fun. Yes, you're doing something, you know, that takes a lot of planning and everything else, but it's the way you execute it. think that, you know, it's, you know, It's the that actually makes it work. think to me for both of you, your chemistry actually is why the brand is so successful. think it's passion. Yeah. Yeah. And the whole team is so passionate. Like everyone wants, well, not everyone, but it's exciting to work in a growing business, in a new business, in a business that's shaking things up. Like it's fun. a little bit. So you must, obviously you'll, there'll be new products that you're probably considering, you know, are you going to bring it into the portfolio at some point? know he's going to, I'm not, I'm not going to, I'm not going to ask for any, any, any exclusives, but just for that, as just said there about, know, it's just a continuation and evolving of not sitting on your laurels and saying, we've got the best product on the market. It might be for this year, next year, but someone will overtake you. So you've to be on that development. It's like they were saying, you're only as good as your last races. So you've got here now, you've got to improve again now to actually, cause people will expect that. are on it. we, last, I mean last week alone, we did three events. We did our C platform launch, which is a brand new 450 year and a 520 model that we've got for the agricultural market. We had all the dealerships there. They all tested the product. They back to back test it against the the competition and that really gives people like, cause you don't get the opportunity and CF are now market leaders in the quad because that's where they've been and that's where they've developed really well, the smoothness of it and everything else and getting there and the same with the V4, they released or they showed ECMA, it shows that they've done a reverse cylinder in that C4 platform. So the same as the Yam motocross bike and that gets all the noise and the harshness and heat out of the quad. So they're looking at stuff with a fresh idea. They're not just sort of going, what is everyone else doing? Can we do that? They're actively trying to achieve something different. I mean, like at ECMA last year, I know this is a bike podcast, but there's some interesting things with quads. they have, they're thinking outside the box. So they have this concept quads. doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be produced, but it's just what they could do. and that it's all wheel steering. So all four wheels. So that means you can basically spin a bike on the spot. Which sounds wild, but actually for a farmer in a tight shed trying to move, like, telehandlers use that. why shouldn't a quad use that? And it's just putting development into, yeah, things that no one else is going to bother The sheep dog doesn't have to go like that, does it? The sheep dog can just... Yeah, exactly. It's so exciting. being at the front of could you do Romania acts on the quad race quad you can do as Berg as Berg this year did a quad class so next year I'm Jasmine doesn't know this exclusive here we go actually I'll be doing on the quad and both of them at the same time well I think I'm gonna do Western in the buggy because they do a buggy rate well no they do they do a buggy event on the Friday I'm do the quad on the Saturday and then the bike race on the 450. This is classic Harry, like we've been at events where the bike racing and the quad racing have been back to back. So I've had to take the bike or the quad to the start line for him to jump off one onto the next one. It's crazy. That's just like MotoGP in the rain situations. Well, if we're over there. for some reason that we can help you out with your pit crew. Yeah, definitely. He's good on your spines by the way. He is, he's our mechanic. And what's CF4 like as a brand then to work with? They're forward thinking, they're open to ideas. They actually respect us a massive amount now because they've seen what we're doing. So they're actually like for marketing they go to Jasmine. We were at a global launch a few months ago and we won the marketing award for all the like and against like America, it's like massive countries. Well done you. So they recognize what we're doing and I think maybe a few years ago was like they would say you're doing this but now they ask us for advice on things sometimes which is quite... They'll send teams over so they'll send two wheel product development people to actually come over and have a view of what customers are doing. They're not just creating products and saying, here you go. They're wanting the feedback and asking people what they want to then develop those new products. Brilliant. what's coming up? What's what have you got in the agenda then for the next few months? It must be incredibly good on honeymoon. I was going to ask you actually. Yeah. And who's organizing me? Yeah, I'm done organizing. do. organizing everything else. I'm not organized. it a bike race involved? Yeah. wants me to take my full bike test so that we can get bikes in South America, which I'm really keen for if it's just trail riding around the mountains, but I don't really want to just pass my test and be like tackling the cities of Chile or whatever. We'll see about that. want to warn a honeymoon. Yeah. Sitting at the beach and just watching the day go by. And that will be me. You guys are at the farm with these guys. That'll be me. Yeah. So it's brilliant. know. I mean, look, let us, I mean, we'll see it. Won't we? We'll see it all unravel on social media. When you go in. can't tell you that. You'll tell us off the pod. He'll tell us. So, we're coming down to do some off road training. and go on 450s. I know you're in Egypt. Sorry. But Robbie, Robbie Wallace is going to come. Robbie Wallace is going to apparently, apparently I'm going to show him a few things about off road riding. Or is he falling off? He won't be listening. I think he can only ride in the sand. we're not. I'll leave him behind. Sorry Robbie. So what can we expect then? Certainly for me, who's not done. I've only been off road once by accident. So HQ, have a full mode to cross track. Shapescape is proper form made to cross tracks. We're in the process of building the Enduro loop so we've got a rock garden, we've got tubes, we've got tires, we've got mounds, stream crossings. But just not to scare you too much, I learnt to ride a bike. at HQ and there's also lots of flat open fields. So you can start there. I'm I'm going to feel fine. Yeah, it's okay. My insurance is all up to date. My wife will be happy. I'll just go for it. Yeah. I mean, I'm really looking forward to it we need to really get to grips with kind of preparing ourselves for Portugal because we are going to be riding the CF motor 450 MTs in Portugal in November. have to prepare ourselves. yeah, yeah. So I'm really keen to learn because I'm really excited about it. mean, I was on a 50, I think, I was about 17 or 16 or something up in Hartlepool on the field, but it was a long time ago. I can't remember. Two or three years, Andrew. you. You're too kind. So what should I be thinking about when I come along to kind of... I wouldn't bother thinking too much. It's only as scary as you make it. think, like Jasmine said, it's actually easier to do it on the 450 because... that twin power is so linear and torquey, you're not. We've got a motocross bike which you're more than welcome to ride, but it's a lot more snappy, it's a lot more on-off, whereas the long gearing, it's really nice. I was told when I was at Red Bull that the Romaine X, they were like, your gearing's too long, because I have literally standard gearing on, but actually it's quite helpful because you've got first gear and it goes so far. So you're not changing up and down, so just. Yeah, genuinely. I'm ever scared of something, just put it in second and just rev the shit out and it just go, like you can do anything. I think for me, because we are going to go and ride these in November. think if I can get on it and just get comfortable with it and learn really what control and... I think these guys were saying it's the, and Tom particularly, it's the feel of the gravel and feeling the bike actually going. You You just have to go. Don't worry. It's fine. It's almost more forgiving than road. Road, if you get it wrong, you get it wrong. Whereas that, I just advise cover your clutch. Yeah. Because if it ever gets to a point where you're like, like there's two options, gas it out or pull the clutch in. Yeah. Obviously you'll get, you'll bin it and then you'll know I did the wrong thing. I did stall it on the the loop mind. Yeah, when we was at a BR. Yeah, I went up this little bit of a bank and I didn't put enough power on and I got stuck and I was stuck at the wrong part. Put it in first gear. Trying to rev out. Stalled it again. So I just like I said, dropped into second to just rev the off it. Yeah. And just go run the bend. So it's okay. I mean, we're going to be bringing our motocross branded jerseys obviously. probably walks. We've all got them. think we're going to get the trousers. I'm sorry. I'm looking at you, but you're not coming. We are going to the trousers. Wearing Egypt. you're on the bill only sweating. Yeah. you're on a camel, I've never heard my wife call that before. Tom and let it that be out. No, that definitely stay in there. it's bringing it back guys, bring it back. What sort of kit do we need to bring in? Cause I've only got road gear. before the answer that question, that was the one thing from riding the car. So because we, we, I rode a in a pair of road boots. didn't have any off road boots on. I didn't have any motorcross boots or enduro boots on. And my feet. following day just standing on the pegs. just in bits. We're really, really in bits. And one, just 20 minutes in row 30 minutes. You get a lot more support from off-road boots. Yeah. So in the ankles, because the idea is you're on the ball of your foot. So you sort of, yeah, using that and it's, you're controlling it with your feet a bit. Yeah. So really motocross boots or adventure boots or even trials boots are being on just to get a feel for it. Yeah. And helmet. Just bring it. Definitely bring your helmet. No, no, I'm going to bring that. I'll just bring it again or face something. What do need to do? Well, normally an off-road helmet. an off-road helmet. get an but you don't need it. I think it's an off-road helmet. It's because you have it. depends on how you want to look in the photos. We want to look really cool. Get yourself an off-road Can you send us a shopping list of things we need to get? Those Kierberg helmets you were giving people at the... They were really good. They're really good. Yeah. Just general off roading. if you like, would happily go around the motocross track with one because they've got the flip down visor and everything else. Yeah. I think I'm going to get an LS2. think that's what we were looking at. No less to 150 quid or whatever they are. it's another trip down to sports place. I'm to see a good friend, Steph. I mean, she was showing us some, some gear down there. Wasn't she the Well, surely you'll need it for Portugal anyway. do they supply gear out there? might do, but you will need your own. Any excuse? This is just typical man, isn't it? I always say you need more specific equipment. We'll have a chat in the green room. All looking here for the right idea. So So we come to the time in the pod where I tend to ask some quick fire questions, which never are quick fire. And I'm just going to go and I'm sure we can all ask something anyway. But we seem to go from introducing you today to jumping into CFMOTO. And we haven't learned a great deal about where your journey for motorcycles started. So I'm going to ask Harry first. Other than CF motor, are there any other branded motorcycles in the garage? that's a really funny question. say where my motorcycle comes from. I mean, I've been on bikes for like, since I was 18 months old, I was on a first quad, but in the garage, I've got a CR 500 AF built by AJ Wozner. so it's like import from America. That was ridden once and snapped the back off. try up to 50 built in Thailand. Gregor bike. and Husqvarna 300, slam, which is our own brand of two 50, which I've done Western on. that's it. No, there's the gas gas trials bike. want to get better at trials. There's my KX two 50. And then there's a few quads of other brands. Chaz has got the itinerations excited. You've got us in your garage, Bethlen, you You guys prompted her with these questions. She's written a whole list. I don't think that's that many. They're all different applications. I've not got one from like... There are two 250 four-stroke. One of them's yours. I like that. They're all different applications. Yeah, trials bike, enduro bike, motocross bike, vintage bike. I bet it's kitboard, Robbie's massive. The conflict is great, isn't it? But I just think trials, by the way, I know Robbie's trying to do a bit more on trials and the Scott trials will be coming up in September, October time. Sounds like another race I'm going have to do. Yeah. And I know Robbie's doing that one as well, because Robbie didn't finish it last year. And I know he's really quite keen on getting better. So he's been doing a bit this year. So I might be someone which is up in the Northeast. It's up here again, far from us. So we could come and watch. and we'd spot you a mile away. Yeah, we wouldn't need but not really tight pink. We'll come with you on. is one thing on Instagram, you scroll through, you'll see it's when Harry first got the pink kit and it's a little bit too tight and someone commented on it saying, what do you call a male? camel day. someone else also commented about our lounge pod that, yeah. When we were on your podcast. some rugby shorts on and I didn't know what we were doing. And, yeah, was a lot people. People have asked me to bleach apparently cause there's walkbacks that I could see everything. And that was the most successful clip. I had somebody who went. Not what you said, just what you're wearing. Even Joe Marla might have commented on it. You need to set up an OnlyFans. So I'll ask Jas and then one of you guys can jump in if you would. So Jas, money no object. Other than CF MOTO, what motorcycle would you like to ride around South America? If you had to pick another brand. that goes against brand loyalty done it. That's hard. I've never even contemplated another bike. I do think that like big Harley Davidson's look quite cool. And I've never even, I've never even sat on one before just to have like your feet out in front of you and be like a proper like old school biker. Yeah. the badges. really comfortable around those mountain roads. Apparently it's yeah. Maybe not South America. maybe think yeah america yeah it's really interesting because we have another one of our friends has got a harley hasn't it yeah griff has got a harley i i don't get it personally sorry harley right i just don't get it but i'd like to have a go just so i understood it yeah yeah we might end up buying one then you might i wouldn't my wife wouldn't be allowing that there's no space in the garage anyway now harry that's it so no that wouldn't be going i do think they you look quite cool on you're looking at me like no. Well, I wrote I wrote a fat boy and up the was I don't know why I was this reaction every time. But I was in there. I was in California. No, I was in I was in Los Angeles and I wrote up the Malibu on one. I got it from Eagle Rentals and I had my feet up and I had because I didn't obviously didn't help. I was on some business. And there's open face helmet. look like something I've done and done it. There is a picture on there. What a laugh that was. It was, it was incredible. But I mean, not like for me, but I did have a lot of fun because I was rolling off and kept popping, you know, yeah. Anyway, I'm gonna ask you a same question. If you could ride a bike anywhere in the world, where would you ride Dakar? I reckon I Dakar. There's a rule that you can't ride twin cylinders. That's right. Yeah. So yeah. mean, that's the first thing that came to me either that or into the Himalayas. That'd be my two choices. reckon. that's an interesting one. That's an interesting one. That is an interesting one. I would say like anywhere where there's a stop to go to the beach and swim in the sea and, and yeah. nice cocktail at the end the day. Which leads me nicely onto my question camping or hotel? I like both. Yeah, mean, I worked on sailing boats for a huge part of my life, so I quite like sleeping in like quite rudimentary environment, but I Also, do you like my cocktail? The cocktail bar? Yeah. As long as I can have a wash. don't Yeah. don't mind. Harry calls me a soap dodger sometimes. Quick at this question, Andy. Quick next question. I think we need to wrap up. And I'm definitely not going to ask that question about the thing that upsets you about jazz and the thing upset you about that. It was the best thing about Harry. What's the best thing about Harry? time you think the best thing about Harry is. in his eyes at the same time. He's just so quirky. Like there is no other person in the on earth like Harry. He's a very special person. I'm very lucky to be his wife now. So you can all leave now viewers. I've asked him this before and I've not liked the answer that he said to me because only because I didn't actually I called it Aurora which obviously isn't a thing it's the aura so yeah just I mean Jasmine's just a phenomenal person the heart of gold and hello to pieces it's not one thing that I could say that's particular That's cute. that's how we finished the pod. think that's a lovely, lovely... Do bikers want to hear about this? Yeah, because it's about you guys. mean, look, literally, we've talked bikes, we've talked the business, we've talked about the energy. And I think personally, we just love spending time with yous and we just have to wait for 12 months before... I can know we obviously would come down to see you, but for us and as I started the podcast is seeing you guys grow and what you've achieved is just phenomenal. And we're massive fans. really are. you and ABR last year was a big, thing for us. And we met you were the first people we met. Like they do the exhibit of drinks and like we sat down next to you and that rest is history. My head hurt for days, even when I got home. Thanks guys. But no, we had an absolute amazing time. We felt family straight away and it's been brilliant. So no, we were really... Thankfully you've made the travel all the way up here to come and spend time on the podcast. Thank you for popping my podcast, Cherry. Yeah. Harry's first. Did the lounge bit, but at least it's a proper one.
