- 0:00Leviticus chapter 26. Let us pray.
- 0:12Lord God Almighty, who reigns on high, you are the most high God.
- 0:23You're worthy to be praised, worthy of all honor and
- 0:26adoration. We thank you, Father, for who
- 0:32you are. Thank you, God, that you are
- 0:34good, You're trustworthy, You're a good Father who knows how to
- 0:41give good gifts. Lord, I pray that you'll help us
- 0:48increase our love, increase our obedience.
- 0:51God discipline us. Lord, correct us when we go off
- 0:59rails. Father, I pray you'll bring us
- 1:01back. God, thank you that you are the
- 1:04Good Shepherd. You leave the 99, you pursue the
- 1:07one. You are the Father God who
- 1:10anticipates our return from the far country.
- 1:13God. Thank you Lord that we are
- 1:16chosen, predestined and elected God.
- 1:19And thank you God for free will to choose you Lord.
- 1:26Thank you God for your multi faceted manifold wisdom.
- 1:31Lord, we can actually come and get to know you more and more
- 1:38and spend an entire lifetime God searching the deep end and never
- 1:43touching the bottom. Father, your word is incredible.
- 1:47It's alive and active, Lord. So we open it up today, Lord.
- 1:51We hide it in our hearts today, God, we will try to not sin
- 1:56against you, Father. Help us to keep your name.
- 1:58Holy Father, I love you. We love you.
- 2:01Fill us with your Holy Spirit, God.
- 2:02Teach us your paths and your ways.
- 2:04Lord, let the words jump off the page and into our hearts and
- 2:07minds. I decrease as you increase.
- 2:10Father, it's all about Jesus Christ the Lord the Savior, the
- 2:15boss of our life. God, I pray that you'll wreck
- 2:19us. God, with your presence, tear
- 2:22down our theology and doctrine. God, I pray that will you give
- 2:26us fresh wind, fresh fire. God the pure word.
- 2:31Father, that's all that we're after.
- 2:34Lord, I pray breakdown all tradition and man made rules and
- 2:40regulations. God, I pray that we just want
- 2:43the unadulterated pure word of God.
- 2:47Lord, we munch on it, we devour it.
- 2:50God we feast upon it today. Lord, we're so thankful that we
- 2:55have access to your word. We pray for all those around the
- 2:59globe, Father, that you give them your word and their
- 3:02language to understand. I pray that people will have
- 3:05access to this life giving literature, this life giving
- 3:10book. God, we thank you for all of the
- 3:14syllables, all the words, every John and every title from
- 3:17Genesis to Revelation, the infallible inerrant word.
- 3:21God, we thank you for all the prophecies that have already
- 3:24happened and all those that are happening and every prophecy
- 3:29that will happen. God, we thank you, Lord, that
- 3:32you are reliable, trustworthy, true.
- 3:35God, we walk in steadfast obedience today.
- 3:41Lord, I pray that you'll help us to be humble, be faithful and
- 3:48fruitful. Thank you, Lord, for another
- 3:51day. It's in Jesus Christ, holy and
- 3:53precious name that I pray. Amen.
- 3:58Well, let's start in verse one. You shall make no idols or
- 4:05graven image, neither rear up a standing image, neither shall
- 4:11you set up any image of stone in your land to bow down to it, for
- 4:16I am the Lord your God. So here he's going to tell them
- 4:21the law of the land, of how they can avoid so many of the
- 4:26pitfalls of all the Pagan nations that they were
- 4:29surrounded by. The ones that God was actually
- 4:33expelling, the ones that he was spewing out of the land.
- 4:37He was giving the Jews the opportunity to make it right, to
- 4:42make it good, to make sure as they go in there that they did
- 4:45not get polluted and diluted by all the nations all around them.
- 4:50Which is the reason they had to go down into Egypt is because
- 4:54they started assimilating with all of the Pagan nations.
- 4:59So here God is bringing them back into the land of Canaan
- 5:02that He promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
- 5:06And you can see here that God, from the outset, before they
- 5:10ever even make it there, tells them that they are to keep the
- 5:14worship central and not to think that they could just worship
- 5:19anywhere at any time however they desired.
- 5:23God is telling them to make sure that they are doing it the way
- 5:29that He wants them to, and not to just make up any old ways
- 5:34that they want to. To You shall keep my sabbaths
- 5:40and reverence. Reverence my sanctuary, I am the
- 5:44Lord. If they would keep the Sabbaths,
- 5:46that was a great precursor to keeping the reverence of the
- 5:50sanctuary. For those who would not keep the
- 5:53Sabbath, it usually indicated that they were irreverence in
- 5:58connection to how they viewed the sanctuary of God.
- 6:03Three If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do
- 6:07them, 4 then I will give you rain and due season, and the
- 6:11land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall
- 6:15yield her fruit. 5 And your threshing shall reach to the
- 6:20vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time, and
- 6:23you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land
- 6:27safely. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie
- 6:32down, and none shall make you afraid, and I will rid evil
- 6:35beast out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your
- 6:39land. 7 And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall
- 6:43before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase 100 and
- 6:48100 of you shall put 10,000 to flight, and your enemies shall
- 6:53fall before you by the sword. 9 For I will have respect unto
- 6:58you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my
- 7:02covenant with you. 10 And you shall eat the old store, and
- 7:06bring forth the old because of the new. 11 And I will set my
- 7:10Tabernacle among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And
- 7:15I will walk among you, and I will be your God, and you shall
- 7:19be my people. 13 And I am the Lord your God, which brought you
- 7:25forth out of the land of Egypt, and you shall not be their
- 7:28bondsman. I have broken the bands of your
- 7:32yoke and made you to go upright. So God here he goes on a tangent
- 7:38and tells them that how they are to be blessed.
- 7:41If they were to be obedient unto Him, then He would make all of
- 7:45these wonderful promises come true.
- 7:51If you have read the Bible and you know anything about the
- 7:55history of the Jews, you're going to find that that this
- 8:00next section is more likened unto them than that section.
- 8:05Unfortunately, God gave them the opportunity to be the light in
- 8:10the world, to actually be so supernaturally protected that
- 8:16all the nations all around them would know that they are God's
- 8:21chosen people. And one day this, the time is
- 8:25coming, whenever in the Millennium, all the nations will
- 8:29flow into Israel, they will flow into Jerusalem, and they will
- 8:36actually see the goodness of God actually being portrayed the
- 8:45right way through the people that God has chosen.
- 8:50But you're going to see, as we get into this next section, what
- 8:56has happened in the history of the Jews. 14 But if you will not
- 9:04listen to me and will not do all these commandments, and if you
- 9:10will despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so
- 9:15that you will not do all my commandments, but that you break
- 9:20my covenant, 16 I also will do unto you.
- 9:27I will appoint over you terror, consumption, burning ague,
- 9:32consume your eyes, and call sorrow of heart.
- 9:36You shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
- 9:4017 And I will set my face against you, and you shall be
- 9:44slain before your enemies, that they hate you shall reign over
- 9:49you, and you shall flee when none pursues you.
- 9:53Think about it friends, when we see the Babylonian captivity,
- 9:58when we see them let off, Friends when we see the northern
- 10:03tribe going into Assyria and we see the southern tribe going to
- 10:06Babylon. You see friends, that God always
- 10:11keeps a remnant because the Messiah would come through them.
- 10:17God never let them be completely overtaken.
- 10:19He supernaturally protected them even in their disobedience and
- 10:25it's no different today. Friends, we do not need to get
- 10:29hung up on this Jew hatred. This anti-Semitism is garbage
- 10:34and satanic at his core. God will deal with them in due
- 10:40time. He sees them.
- 10:43They have a bullseye on their back friends.
- 10:48God watches them and He desires for them to do what is right,
- 10:52but if they will not, then He will hotly pursue them and He
- 10:57will deal with them. It's not our place to try and
- 11:03persecute any people group, much less God's chosen.
- 11:08That is the reality. They are still His peculiar
- 11:12possession. 18 And if you will not yet for all this, listen to
- 11:19me, then I will punish you 7 times more for your sins. 19 And
- 11:24I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your
- 11:28heaven is iron, your earth is brass. 20 And your strength
- 11:33shall be spent in vain, and your land shall not yield or
- 11:36increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their
- 11:40fruits. So God's going to increase the
- 11:43temperature, God's going to continue to crank down.
- 11:48But look at his loving kindness in this.
- 11:52Even in their willful disobedience, He never turns his
- 11:57back on them. And you need to know that God
- 12:00disciplines those that he loves. 21 And if you walk contrary to
- 12:07me and will not listen to me, I will bring 7 times more plagues
- 12:13upon you according to your sins. 22 I will send wild beasts among
- 12:18you, and will rob you of your children and destroy your cattle
- 12:22and make you few in number, and your highways will be desolate.
- 12:27So here, when we get into first and second kings, you're going
- 12:31to get to see the history of the Jews, and these things actually
- 12:34happen. Everything that gets outlined in
- 12:37here happened to them, and you're going to see them and
- 12:41Jeremiah talking about the Temple of the Lord, the temple
- 12:45of the Lord, as if they had some kind of corner.
- 12:48And even in AD 70, Titus did not want to destroy the temple and
- 12:53they did not want to go in, but they were so arrogant that they
- 12:58thought that they could just keep proclaiming Yahweh whenever
- 13:04they were not obeying Yahweh. And it does not happen.
- 13:08It does not work that way. God can still love you and God
- 13:12can discipline you at the same time.
- 13:15Never forget that, friends. And correction is not rejection.
- 13:2323 And if you will not be reformed by me by these things,
- 13:29but we'll walk contrary to me, 24 Then I will also walk
- 13:33contrary to you, and I will punish you yet 7 times for your
- 13:39sins. 25 And I will bring a sword upon you that shall avenge
- 13:44the quarrel of my covenant. When you are gathered together
- 13:47within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you, and
- 13:51you shall be delivered into the hand of your enemy. 26 And when
- 13:56I have broken the staff of your bread, 10 women shall bake bread
- 14:01in one oven, and they will deliver you your bread again by
- 14:06weight, and you shall eat and not be satisfied.
- 14:09There's going to be such little grain during the time of the
- 14:14siege of Babylon that the people resort to all kinds of
- 14:19disgusting things. And there is very limited
- 14:24supplies within that walled city. 27 And if you will not for
- 14:29all this listen to me, but walk contrary to me, then I will walk
- 14:34contrary to you also in fury. And I even I will chastise you 7
- 14:40times for your sins. And you shall eat the flesh of
- 14:43your sons, and the flesh of your daughter shall you eat. 30 And I
- 14:48will destroy your high places, cut down your images, cast your
- 14:53carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall
- 14:58have pour you. 31 And I will make your cities waste, and I
- 15:02will bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell
- 15:07the savour of your sweet odours. It is a horrible thing to fall
- 15:12into the hands of an almighty God and that is what we don't
- 15:21understand. We have been sold a watered down
- 15:25gospel. God is immutable.
- 15:28He does not change Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and
- 15:34forever. You need to understand, friends,
- 15:37that if you truly love God, it will be revealed in the way that
- 15:46you do things. And this is not behavior
- 15:51modification, it is just revealing the work that's
- 15:55already done in your heart. You cannot say that you love God
- 16:00and continue going down these paths.
- 16:04You must turn away from sin. You must confess and repent, for
- 16:11the Kingdom of God is at hand, Friends, He says because you are
- 16:18lukewarm, He will spit you out of his mouth.
- 16:21That is vomit you out of his mouth.
- 16:24That is New Testament. We need to stop looking at all
- 16:30of these things as if they are not applicable to us.
- 16:35We must see the full context of how God is so merciful in the
- 16:41Old Testament, and there is much judgement within the New
- 16:44Testament. That's the reality, friends, and
- 16:49we should do the things that God asks us to do.
- 16:57All of our sins are forgiven in Christ Jesus, every single one
- 17:03of them. And when you have that reality,
- 17:08it will make you want to do what God asks of you.
- 17:13It will be your pleasure. It will be your highest order to
- 17:21do the things that God is required of you.
- 17:24Oh man, stay away from sexual immorality.
- 17:30Make sure that you love him with your full heart and love your
- 17:35neighbor as yourself. Walk humbly with him.
- 17:39Seek justice, Love, mercy. And you can see that verses 27
- 17:50through 31 actually happened to this famine that came. 32 And I
- 17:56will bring the land into desolation.
- 17:59Your enemies shall dwell in it as astonished at it. 33 And I
- 18:03will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a
- 18:06sword after you. And your land shall be desolate
- 18:09in your city's waste. So this has happened to the Jews
- 18:13many times, friends, you can see it.
- 18:18It's going to happen when they go into the Babylonian
- 18:21captivity. You're going to see them
- 18:23scattered around the whole world before they're regathered back
- 18:29to their land in 1948. 34 Then shall the land enjoy her
- 18:37Sabbaths, as long as it lied desolate, and you be in your
- 18:42enemy's land, even the land shall rest and enjoy her
- 18:46Sabbath. So he's saying to them, If you
- 18:48do not adhere to what I have prescribed, then I will make it
- 18:54good in my own way, in my own time, and I will kick you out of
- 18:59the land. And then I will count all the
- 19:02way to however many Sabbaths, however many times you do not
- 19:06let the ground rest, I will make sure that it rests.
- 19:12An amazing God that we serve. 35 As long as it lies desolate
- 19:18shall rest, because it did not rest in your Sabbath when you
- 19:21dwelt upon it. 36 And upon them that are left alive of you, I
- 19:26will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their
- 19:29enemies, and the sound of a shaped leaf shall chase them,
- 19:34and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword, and they shall
- 19:37fall when none pursues. So that's the fear, friends,
- 19:41that God can inflict on a human when there's nothing there to
- 19:45even terrorize you, but is the presence of God, and God is able
- 19:53to turn your hearts and to turn you away from.
- 20:00This safety and all of the security that we hold on to, God
- 20:07knows how to get a hold of us even when none pursues.
- 20:13You'll have it in your mind that someone is 37 and they shall
- 20:16fall one upon another, as it were before a sword.
- 20:20When none pursues, you shall have no power to stand before
- 20:28your enemies. 38 And you shall perish among the heathen, and
- 20:32the land of your enemies shall eat you up, 39 And they that are
- 20:36left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies
- 20:40lands, and also in the enemies of their fathers shall they pine
- 20:44away with them. This is strict, severe
- 20:48chastisement from God. But let's see how he turns it
- 20:53around. Verse 40.
- 20:56If they will confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of
- 21:01their fathers with their trespass, which they trespassed
- 21:05against me, they also they have walked contrary unto me. 41 And
- 21:10that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them
- 21:14into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised
- 21:19hearts be humbled, and then they accept of the punishment of
- 21:26their iniquity, 42 then I will remember my covenant with Jacob,
- 21:32my covenant with Isaac, and my covenant with Abraham.
- 21:37I will remember, and I will remember the land. 43 The land
- 21:43also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbath while
- 21:48she lies desolate without them. They shall accept of the
- 21:52punishment of their iniquity, because even because they
- 21:56despise my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my
- 22:00statutes. So go and look at the history.
- 22:04You're going to see that for every single time that they were
- 22:09supposed to let the ground rests and they did not, then that
- 22:14actually translated into the Babylonian captivity the exact
- 22:19amount of numbers that they were exiled before they came back and
- 22:25built the Second Temple in the days of Nehemiah and Ezra and
- 22:30Zerubbabel. God is so magnificent.
- 22:33He's giving us all the way back here in Leviticus.
- 22:36He's giving us the history lesson of the prophecy, these
- 22:41two things at once. He's saying if you do these
- 22:44things, and then he's in a way showing us all the things that
- 22:48will happen. What an amazing God we serve
- 22:51that He can see both sides before they ever even happen.
- 22:56He knew that we would be the way that we are before he even
- 23:00created the world, before he ever even put the serpent in the
- 23:04garden. Friends, He knew it all and He
- 23:07knew it ultimately would bring him the most amount of glory
- 23:11when Someone Like You and someone like me would actually
- 23:15choose him wholeheartedly, 100% unapologetically.
- 23:23Our whole heart given unto him is what he's after.
- 23:27He's not after robots. He's not after people who just
- 23:33serve him to get something from him, friends, or just to put
- 23:38their faith in him to get out of hell.
- 23:40Friends, he wants sold out, laid down lovers who love him
- 23:47unconditionally, regardless of the external.
- 23:51We love because he first loved us.
- 24:05And in 42 he's talking about he's going to remember the land
- 24:08when he brings them back. 44 And yet for all that, when they be
- 24:17in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither
- 24:21will I abhor them to destroy them utterly, to break my
- 24:25covenant with them. For I am the Lord their God.
- 24:28God, when he made the covenant with Abraham, there was no
- 24:31greater to swear by, so he swore by himself.
- 24:35He put Abraham into a trance. He fell into a horror, friends,
- 24:41as the fire went through the cut pieces.
- 24:45That's what is mentioned here. And God will never go back on
- 24:49his own word. He's going to make sure the
- 24:51Messiah comes and he's going to make sure that the Messiah comes
- 24:54again. All the words that you hold in
- 24:58your hand will actually happen to the exact degree, the exact
- 25:04letter. And there's lots of
- 25:05interpretations of lots of different things.
- 25:08But the real question is, do you even read the Bible?
- 25:11Do you know the Bible? Or are you just listening to all
- 25:15these echo chambers? Are you just listening to all
- 25:18these sounding boards, all of these sound bites, all of these
- 25:24tickling of the ear, friends, this twisting of Scripture,
- 25:28friends, that is happening, this apostate church friends, are you
- 25:33just listening to the teachers, the false teachers and the false
- 25:38leaders who are coming in in droves and leading so many
- 25:42people astray? And the way that we safeguard
- 25:45ourselves against that is actually getting into the Word
- 25:48of God, knowing the Word of God, meditating upon the Word of God,
- 25:53actually having a spiritual appetite to digest the hard
- 25:57truths that we find here in Leviticus.
- 25:59And when you see the full context, you're going to know
- 26:03that God's plans will come to fruition.
- 26:06Every jot and every title from Genesis to Revelation, every
- 26:10single thing that is outlined is going to happen to the exact
- 26:14degree that the Bible tells us, not man's interpretation of it.
- 26:20But what does the Bible say, friends?
- 26:23That's what we need to be hyper fixated upon.
- 26:26Because let every man be a liar, but the Word of God will stay
- 26:31true and it will never pass away.
- 26:33Not one of these words will ever pass away.
- 26:36Friends. He is the Lord God Almighty, and
- 26:44it is because he made that covenant.
- 26:47He will not go back on it. 45 But I will for their sakes
- 26:51remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth
- 26:56out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I
- 26:59might be their God. I am the Lord, He is the Lord.
- 27:02Serve him while there is still time.
- 27:05Choose Him while there is still time.
- 27:07Friends, we'll live on. 46 These are the statutes and the
- 27:10judgments and laws the Lord made between him and the children of
- 27:15Israel in Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
- 27:19What an amazing God we serve. What an amazing chapter we just
- 27:23read. I hope you enjoyed it.
- 27:25I hope you were edified by it. I hope that you let it soak in,
- 27:29let it completely wash over you, friends, go and meditate upon it
- 27:36and actually pull. There's so much more to pull out
- 27:39of each of these chapters, friends, but there's just not
- 27:42enough time. I love you.
- 27:44I'm praying for you, and we'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 27:46God bless you.
