- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Danish with Fexingo. Luna: Hey Lucas, I'm ready. Last episode we were at the zoo, right? Elephants and lions. Lucas: Exactly. But today, we're switching things up. We're going to a nice restaurant, and we're ordering wine. Luna: Oh, fancy. I like that. Lucas: Let's start with a simple one. If you want a glass of red wine, you say: Jeg vil gerne have et glas rødvin. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have et glas rødvin. Lucas: Great. That means 'I would like a glass of red wine.' Luna: It's a bit long, but I'll practice. Jeg vil gerne have et glas rødvin. Lucas: Perfect. Now, when the waiter comes, you might want to ask for a recommendation. Say: Hvilken vin anbefaler du? Luna: Hvilken vin anbefaler du? That's 'Which wine do you recommend?' Lucas: Exactly. Let's hear it again. Hvilken vin anbefaler du? Luna: Hvilken vin anbefaler du? Lucas: Nice. So imagine you're at the restaurant. You say you want red wine, but maybe the waiter suggests a white wine that pairs better with the fish. You can say: Hvidvin, tak. Luna: Hvidvin, tak. That's 'White wine, please.' Lucas: Yes. Short and simple. Hvidvin, tak. Luna: Hvidvin, tak. I think I've got that one. Lucas: Now, before you commit to a full glass or bottle, it's common to taste the wine first. You'd say: Må jeg smage vinen? Luna: Må jeg smage vinen? 'May I taste the wine?' Lucas: That's right. Repeat after me: Må jeg smage vinen? Luna: Må jeg smage vinen? Lucas: And finally, when you're ready to toast, you say: Skål! Luna: Skål! That's cheers! Lucas: Yes. Skål is a big one in Denmark. You'll hear it all the time. Luna: Skål! I love that. It's so fun to say. Lucas: Alright, let's put it all together. Imagine you're at a Danish restaurant. The waiter comes over.
