ACOG Issues New Guidance on GLP-1 Drugs Before Pregnancy, During Pregnancy and While Breastfeeding
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) released new guidance on October 23, 2026, on GLP-1 medications before, during and after pregnancy. The Practice Advisory tells ob-gyns to advise patients that there is not enough safety data on GLP-1 use in pregnancy, to consider stopping these medications one to two months before conception, and to advise against their use during pregnancy.
