- 0:00Speaker 1: And Football at Four is powered by the Inside the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Birds podcast. It's brought to you by the Fanatic Sportsbook
- 0:05Speaker 1: at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. Football at Four,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher from the Inside the Birds podcast and phillyvoice.com.
- 0:13Speaker 1: As the Eagles had their open practice last night, which
- 0:15Speaker 1: is almost kind of like a preseason game, if you will.
- 0:18Speaker 1: You almost get more out of that than you do
- 0:21Speaker 1: the preseason games because the starters are on the field.
- 0:24Speaker 1: What did we learn? We heard from Vic Fangio earlier today.
- 0:27Speaker 1: We heard from Nick Sirianni before tonight. the practice yesterday.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Somebody actually brought up an interesting point, Jeff Mosher. At
- 0:33Speaker 1: what point is the NFL going to scrap the preseason
- 0:38Speaker 1: games and just have the joint practices available to the
- 0:42Speaker 1: public and use those as the games that you can
- 0:45Speaker 1: pay to go see? Now, that's the next evolution of
- 0:49Speaker 1: preseason games, is it not?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Well, it might be. I mean, they're probably going to
- 0:54Speaker 2: go to two preseason games once they go to an
- 0:57Speaker 2: 18th regular season game. So they'll figure out a way
- 1:02Speaker 2: to cut the lop off another preseason game and they'll
- 1:05Speaker 2: continue to do. That will actually make joint practices that
- 1:08Speaker 2: much more important because now you only have two preseason
- 1:11Speaker 2: games and everybody seems to love the work that you're
- 1:14Speaker 2: able to get in in a joint practice. And I
- 1:16Speaker 2: don't know if there's a bigger advocate for joint practices
- 1:19Speaker 2: than Vic Fangio. I mean, he could give, it feels
- 1:22Speaker 2: like he wants to do press conferences just devoted to
- 1:25Speaker 2: the value of joint practices and He felt that the
- 1:28Speaker 2: Eagles got a lot of great work in against the Patriots.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I think you mentioned something, 80-some-odd reps on the first
- 1:36Speaker 2: day of practice, which is a lot more than you
- 1:38Speaker 2: get in a normal practice at your own facility. So
- 1:42Speaker 2: there's a lot of merit to them.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well, and I did hear him say that about how
- 1:46Speaker 1: much they got out of it. But the next iteration
- 1:49Speaker 1: would be that you get to play in front of
- 1:52Speaker 1: fans so you can get some noise and you can
- 1:54Speaker 1: get some atmosphere, but– You can say, hey, we're going
- 1:57Speaker 1: to run the next 15 plays from inside the red
- 2:00Speaker 1: zone here, so we need a little noise in here,
- 2:02Speaker 1: something you can't do during the joint practices. So we'll
- 2:05Speaker 1: see if the NFL does anything here because he did
- 2:07Speaker 1: say that I thought one of the takeaways from what
- 2:10Speaker 1: he said was also that he can't take a lot
- 2:14Speaker 1: from certain people because you've got to do it against
- 2:16Speaker 1: front-line players. But how do you do it against front-line
- 2:18Speaker 1: players when you're not playing against front-line players?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Well, the way you're phrasing it, though, it almost makes
- 2:25Speaker 2: me think you envision the stadiums being filled with lots
- 2:29Speaker 2: of fans and then trying to do that in the
- 2:32Speaker 2: bigger stadiums as opposed to the smaller practice facilities. Is
- 2:36Speaker 2: that what you were getting at?
- 2:38Speaker 1: Right, you could almost have an open practice like you
- 2:40Speaker 1: did last night, but have an open joint practice.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but the problem with that, Mike, why I don't
- 2:46Speaker 2: think that that's feasible to do much of is because
- 2:50Speaker 2: you need for real joint practices to be valuable. And
- 2:53Speaker 2: now those 80 reps, you got to have multiple practice
- 2:56Speaker 2: fields so that your first offense can go on against
- 3:00Speaker 2: the other first defense and vice versa. You need at
- 3:03Speaker 2: least two good fields. So if you, if you try
- 3:05Speaker 2: to do these open practice, open joint practices on a
- 3:09Speaker 2: one field stadium, like the link or anything else, then
- 3:12Speaker 2: you're limiting the amount of work you'd be able to
- 3:14Speaker 2: get in.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I gotcha. Well, I mean, Maybe the second day.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Maybe you do it one day at your facility and
- 3:23Speaker 2: the second day at that. Yeah, yeah, that's possible.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Well, like the old days at Lehigh, sit in the
- 3:28Speaker 1: bleachers all day, right? They don't do that anymore because
- 3:32Speaker 1: they do it over at the Novocare or whatever.
- 3:34Speaker 3: It's Thomas Jefferson now.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But that being said, let's take a look at some
- 3:38Speaker 1: of the things from last night's game. He got asked
- 3:41Speaker 1: about Rick Woolen today multiple times.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Two interceptions. One was a pick six.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And where do you think that Wolin is in terms
- 3:51Speaker 1: of the impact he'll have for this defense?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, you know, Vic has been very clear
- 3:57Speaker 2: with Rick Wolin on two things. One, he likes him.
- 4:00Speaker 2: He really likes what he brings. He likes him as
- 4:03Speaker 2: a person, as a player. You know, he said that
- 4:06Speaker 2: right from the start that he was going to be
- 4:08Speaker 2: different than Seattle, which is interesting because they won the
- 4:12Speaker 2: Super Bowl. He's going to use Rick Wolin. as a three-down,
- 4:16Speaker 2: four-down corner. He is a starting corner, whereas the Seahawks
- 4:19Speaker 2: brought him off the field against the run. So that's
- 4:22Speaker 2: interesting right off the bat. Now, you've heard Vic also
- 4:26Speaker 2: say that he just needs to be more consistent and
- 4:31Speaker 2: clean up some technique issues that fail him at times,
- 4:35Speaker 2: and we have seen that. We've seen the best and
- 4:38Speaker 2: the worst of Rick Warren. You know, once training camp started,
- 4:40Speaker 2: we've seen some really good games, and last night he
- 4:43Speaker 2: was good, and we've also seen him get beat on
- 4:46Speaker 2: shiftier receivers because as a tall defensive back, he struggles
- 4:51Speaker 2: with throttling down stiffer hips. That's just natural for a
- 4:55Speaker 2: guy who has his length. But it's not just about that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I mean, Vic was pretty clear today that he's got
- 5:03Speaker 2: some technique issues that he's got to clean up if
- 5:06Speaker 2: he really wants to truly be a great cornerback.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Which Vic acknowledged that Woolen knows that he is sloppy
- 5:16Speaker 1: at times.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yes. And to me, that goes beyond a little bit
- 5:21Speaker 2: of the stiffness that we're talking about. That's natural. That
- 5:25Speaker 2: might not be ever something that Reek can overcome because
- 5:28Speaker 2: of how he's built. But technique, that's always coachable. That's
- 5:32Speaker 2: always something you can correct and work on. And it
- 5:34Speaker 2: almost sounded like Vic was saying that he just lapses.
- 5:38Speaker 2: sometimes with this technique, and he's got to be more
- 5:41Speaker 2: consistent there. And if he could, then it would be,
- 5:45Speaker 2: I mean, the sky's the limit. If not, he's still
- 5:48Speaker 2: getting a pretty good quarterback.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah. Football for Jeff Mosher.
- 5:53Speaker 1: J-Lex Hunt, very disruptive last night. Interesting question to Vic today.
- 5:58Speaker 1: You know, hey, where is he in the third year?
- 6:00Speaker 1: He's like, about where I wanted him to be. What
- 6:02Speaker 1: do you expect from him?
- 6:03Speaker 3: I don't know. What should we expect from J-Lex Hunt?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Do you look at him now?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it almost sounded like he was speaking negatively,
- 6:15Speaker 2: but he was actually doing the opposite. He basically said,
- 6:20Speaker 2: you know, he'll have reached where he's reached when all
- 6:24Speaker 2: the reporters stop asking me, if I'm surprised by how
- 6:28Speaker 2: good he is. And Vic was basically saying, I'm not
- 6:30Speaker 2: surprised anymore. I've seen it. He's done what we've asked
- 6:34Speaker 2: him to do. He's going to be a starting edge.
- 6:36Speaker 2: He has a chance to be a guy who probably
- 6:39Speaker 2: has Pro Bowl-level capabilities because he's so damn athletic, and
- 6:44Speaker 2: he's really understanding the fighter parts of Vic's defense now.
- 6:48Speaker 2: So that's why Vic is basically saying, I'm running out
- 6:50Speaker 2: of things to say about a guy who's now just
- 6:54Speaker 2: been very consistent. and now he's like other guys on
- 6:58Speaker 2: the team that you don't ask about because you already expect.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Like Lane Johnson, nobody ever asks Nick Sirianni, hey, are
- 7:05Speaker 2: you surprised by how well Lane Johnson's done, right? Now,
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm not trying to put Jarek Hunt in Lane Johnson's category,
- 7:10Speaker 2: but what I'm just saying is nothing that Jarek does
- 7:13Speaker 2: anymore is a novelty. We're taking the coach by surprise.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Jeff, Jalen Hurts, the wheel route touchdown to Barkley, then
- 7:22Speaker 1: a couple interceptions. I don't know, up and down, what
- 7:26Speaker 1: do you make of Hurts in this offense right now,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and what is the expectations going into the first quarter
- 7:33Speaker 1: of the season?
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I just watched their last practice at
- 7:38Speaker 2: training camp, and it was kind of like what I've
- 7:41Speaker 2: seen all throughout camp, just a lot of short stuff,
- 7:46Speaker 2: nothing really, nothing like past training camps where there would
- 7:51Speaker 2: be a couple of bombs, you know, that was Jalen's
- 7:53Speaker 2: always best throw. A little choppy. And I said to Andrew,
- 7:59Speaker 2: if the Eagles weren't learning a new offense, if this
- 8:02Speaker 2: were just a continuation of the last few years, man,
- 8:05Speaker 2: we would probably be really hard on the offense as
- 8:09Speaker 2: a whole, on Jalen Hurts, because it really hasn't looked pretty.
- 8:13Speaker 2: And whenever you're in year six of a quarterback, you
- 8:16Speaker 2: want to see that point where training camps are breezed
- 8:19Speaker 2: because you don't get touched. And you haven't seen that.
- 8:23Speaker 2: But they are learning new offense, and I'm not overly
- 8:26Speaker 2: concerned about it. I do think that they're, you know,
- 8:30Speaker 2: the whole– I think the short stuff's important because this
- 8:33Speaker 2: offense is going to be predicated on pitch and catch
- 8:37Speaker 2: and some layup routes. I'm not totally– I don't want
- 8:43Speaker 2: to be, like, too down, but I also don't want
- 8:44Speaker 2: to be too praiseworthy because it really hasn't been poetry
- 8:48Speaker 2: in motion. It really hasn't been what you would hope
- 8:50Speaker 2: to see. But I just think– I think I've been
- 8:53Speaker 2: telling you this for a while. I think September is
- 8:55Speaker 2: going to be a little bit of a struggle. And also,
- 8:58Speaker 2: they're going up against the defense, a really good defense
- 9:01Speaker 2: every day.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Well, and then you've got the other– like you're watching
- 9:05Speaker 1: the team play, and I see Carson Steele with six catches.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I'm thinking they're not going to throw the ball to
- 9:11Speaker 1: the running back six times, or this is a completely
- 9:14Speaker 1: new defense.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Maybe they will.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Last night he throws a touchdown to– Jalen Hurts, am
- 9:19Speaker 1: I supposed to think now that the running back will
- 9:21Speaker 1: be a bigger factor in the pass game?
- 9:24Speaker 2: I think the opportunity for the running back to be
- 9:28Speaker 2: a big factor in the pass game has always been
- 9:31Speaker 2: there in any offense, but it just hasn't been a
- 9:35Speaker 2: part of the offense. And I definitely will say I've
- 9:38Speaker 2: seen more route diversity from the running backs this year.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I saw Saquon run a Texas route the other day.
- 9:47Speaker 2: In practice, I'm like, darn, I haven't seen a running
- 9:50Speaker 2: back run a Texas route in quite a while in
- 9:52Speaker 2: this offense, so that's good. You mentioned the Taequann touchdown
- 9:57Speaker 2: last night. It looked like a wheel that sort of
- 9:59Speaker 2: evolved into a corner route, which makes me think that
- 10:02Speaker 2: maybe there was either a sight adjustment or some leniency
- 10:07Speaker 2: on Saquon's part about how he was allowed to run
- 10:09Speaker 2: that route, which would also be a little bit of
- 10:11Speaker 2: a new wrinkle in the offense. But, Mike, until we
- 10:15Speaker 2: actually see this happen in the regular season season, I'm
- 10:19Speaker 2: not going to make any declarations that running back is
- 10:22Speaker 2: going to be a bigger part of the passing offense
- 10:24Speaker 2: until we actually see it.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Let's look at the passing offense.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Hollywood Brown, who has not had a good camp, has
- 10:31Speaker 1: a touchdown last night, a little crossing route. Makai Lemon,
- 10:34Speaker 1: a little wheel out of the backfield. I looked at
- 10:38Speaker 1: the Green Bay receiving core the last two years in
- 10:42Speaker 1: that offense. They did not have a 1,000-yard receiver in
- 10:45Speaker 1: either of the last two years. So is it more likely...
- 10:49Speaker 1: that this offense is similar to that, where Devontae Smith
- 10:53Speaker 1: maybe leads the way, but it's only like 850 yards,
- 10:56Speaker 1: but then the next guy has, say, 600, and the next.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Guy has 500?
- 11:00Speaker 1: Or is this more like Seattle, where they got one
- 11:02Speaker 1: guy that's got 1,500 yards, and then everybody else is
- 11:05Speaker 1: just there around 300, 400?
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I would.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Lean towards Seattle, and I would say that Green Bay
- 11:13Speaker 2: has this sort of gathering of some pretty talented receivers
- 11:18Speaker 2: who either haven't yet hit their stride. You know, obviously
- 11:22Speaker 2: Matthew Golden was a first-round pick. He had an okay
- 11:25Speaker 2: rookie or nothing special. Christian Watson has been injured a lot,
- 11:28Speaker 2: but I think he's actually going to have a huge
- 11:29Speaker 2: year this year. And I love Jaden Reed, but he
- 11:32Speaker 2: missed a lot of last year with that Jones fracture,
- 11:35Speaker 2: I think, that he had. But they don't have a
- 11:37Speaker 2: Devontae Smith, right? So they've had to spread the ball around.
- 11:42Speaker 2: That's the way their offense works. I think the way
- 11:46Speaker 2: this offense is, And with how good Devontae Smith is
- 11:50Speaker 2: and the top ten pick and all, he's got to
- 11:52Speaker 2: be the target monster. I mean, I can't– I think
- 11:57Speaker 2: if he's under 1,000 yards for the season, then it's
- 12:01Speaker 2: not a good thing for the Eagles offense. And I
- 12:04Speaker 2: almost think that there's got to be a number two
- 12:06Speaker 2: who steps up and is more productive than, say, whatever
- 12:10Speaker 2: the number two, I guess– I guess last year, Watson
- 12:14Speaker 2: had like 800 yards, and Jayden Reed had.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Like 500 yards.
- 12:20Speaker 1: In 2020, in 2024, Jeff, the number two guy was Kraft,
- 12:23Speaker 1: and last year he was on his way to possibly
- 12:25Speaker 1: being the number one guy, and that is something that
- 12:28Speaker 1: is really interesting to see how big of a role
- 12:31Speaker 1: Goddard has, because last year Kraft was averaging 15 yards
- 12:35Speaker 1: a catch. He had like six touchdowns. He was on
- 12:37Speaker 1: pace for like 90 catches before he got hurt.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a real beast. He's a good player. And
- 12:44Speaker 2: that offense, again, it may lack a true 1,500-yard type
- 12:49Speaker 2: of bulldog, but it's got a lot of different guys
- 12:52Speaker 2: who can stretch the field and catch the ball. I mean, obviously,
- 12:55Speaker 2: we've seen Tay Wicks come here and have a pretty
- 12:58Speaker 2: good camp, but you can understand why he was fifth
- 13:01Speaker 2: in the pecking order last year. They just have some
- 13:03Speaker 2: pretty good players, just not one guy yet who has
- 13:07Speaker 2: become an all-pro. But I do think Watson's going to
- 13:10Speaker 2: have a big year. But that's beside the point. I
- 13:11Speaker 2: do think in this Eagles offense, you're banking on Devontae
- 13:16Speaker 2: Smith to have a monster year and Saquon Barkley to
- 13:20Speaker 2: reclaim his status and have a, maybe not like two
- 13:23Speaker 2: years ago, but something similar to that. Good enough to
- 13:26Speaker 2: be where it's 1,500 yards and double-digit touchdowns. If you
- 13:29Speaker 2: don't get that, I think there's going to be trouble.
- 13:32Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I want to go on a couple things Fangio said today. One,
- 13:37Speaker 1: he mentioned Michael Carter and Epps. What was your read
- 13:40Speaker 1: into what his messaging is between those two guys?
- 13:44Speaker 2: My read is that Epps is going to start, Carter
- 13:47Speaker 2: is going to play in sub-packages, and as the season
- 13:51Speaker 2: goes on, if there's a struggle there because Epps is
- 13:55Speaker 2: aging or declining, that Vic has the confidence that Carter
- 13:59Speaker 2: can step in and do it. He just wants Carter
- 14:01Speaker 2: to continue to have more safety reps in practice as
- 14:06Speaker 2: opposed to nickelback reps.
- 14:10Speaker 1: He mentioned the Ty Robinson. I thought this was interesting because,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you know, he said he probably has a role, but
- 14:16Speaker 1: I'm not sure what that even means. You know, I
- 14:20Speaker 1: guess when you, and it made me think of this
- 14:21Speaker 1: because Jordan Davis gets hurt.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Now he went out of his way.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Hey, he came back and everything, but it's Ty Robinson
- 14:28Speaker 1: have any role in Or is it really the three
- 14:31Speaker 1: guys in, like, you know, obviously Carter, Davis, and then Ojomo?
- 14:35Speaker 3: And then they have a couple other guys.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Like, Robinson can have two more sacks and three more
- 14:39Speaker 1: tackles for losses.
- 14:40Speaker 3: He has no role on this team, right?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's just it. It's sort of like
- 14:46Speaker 2: the conversation with Darius Cooper. Yeah, he can have a
- 14:48Speaker 2: great camp. He can light it up. He can be
- 14:50Speaker 2: a great story as an undrafted free agent. But at
- 14:53Speaker 2: the end of the day, how much is he going
- 14:54Speaker 2: to play? Behind Devontae Smith. behind, you know, Makai Lemon,
- 14:59Speaker 2: behind Tawick, behind Goddard as a tight end. Like, where
- 15:03Speaker 2: are the targets for Darius Cooper no matter how good
- 15:05Speaker 2: he looks? And Ty Robinson, no matter what, is going
- 15:09Speaker 2: to be behind Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Moro Jomo, and
- 15:13Speaker 2: Byron Young.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 2: So it's great, but really the goal for him is
- 15:18Speaker 2: just to keep getting better, keep doing what he can
- 15:20Speaker 2: do in practice, keep refining himself, his technique, showing that
- 15:25Speaker 2: club move that he's got that's good, and that next year, well,
- 15:28Speaker 2: if there's an injury this year, he can step in.
- 15:31Speaker 2: But next year, when Mauro Adomo, if he leaves through
- 15:34Speaker 2: free agency, then next year he can step into that role.
- 15:38Speaker 3: All right, Jeff Moser, Friday night. We've got one more.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And Vic Fangio said the Cincinnati game does mean something.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Who does it mean something for?
- 15:50Speaker 2: You know, I mean, I think on defense for Vic,
- 15:53Speaker 2: it will mean something about Michael Carter continuously getting more
- 15:57Speaker 2: safety reps. I think the two undrafted kids in the
- 16:02Speaker 2: secondary are interesting. Kuchikin and Pulley. You know, it's not
- 16:10Speaker 2: all settled there at safety. I mean, look, he told
- 16:13Speaker 2: you what the deal was at corner, and it's not pretty, right?
- 16:16Speaker 2: He basically said... Your 3-4-5 are Jonathan Jones, who just
- 16:20Speaker 2: got back to practice today, Jonathan Jones, Mack McWilliams, and
- 16:25Speaker 2: Keeler Ingoe. I don't know how great to feel about that.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I don't know how great Vic feels about that. I
- 16:31Speaker 2: think he's just stating that that's his 3-4-5 right now.
- 16:35Speaker 2: He did seem complimentary of Mack McWilliams' camp, so that's
- 16:42Speaker 2: good for Mack McWilliams. But, you know, if you're Howie
- 16:46Speaker 2: Roseman and you– know how important depth in the secondary is.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You're probably not loving the fact that your 3-4-5 is
- 16:53Speaker 2: a 33-year-old corner who just missed a couple weeks, a second-year,
- 16:58Speaker 2: fifth-round pick who hasn't really played in the NFL, and
- 17:01Speaker 2: a fourth-year corner who, at best, has been a really
- 17:05Speaker 2: good gunner for you and nothing more than that.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Right, and I agree with that wholeheartedly. That secondary seems
- 17:11Speaker 1: to have a lot of questions here. And I would
- 17:13Speaker 1: ask you this, what's the biggest– like, You came in
- 17:16Speaker 1: with concerns. Has any other concerns emerged through this training?
- 17:20Speaker 1: By the way, Bryce Harper with a two-run homer here
- 17:23Speaker 1: in the first inning as we're having this conversation. That
- 17:27Speaker 1: followed a Trey Turner. That followed a Trey Turner strikeout,
- 17:31Speaker 1: by the way, just to throw that out there. No,
- 17:34Speaker 1: Schwarber led the game off with a ground rule double,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and then Harper just hit a two-run homer. But has
- 17:38Speaker 1: anything emerged from camp that has become a concern that
- 17:43Speaker 1: maybe wasn't.
- 17:43Speaker 3: When we got to camp?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think the tight end pitcher is
- 17:50Speaker 2: definitely a concern.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I saw Kempski over at Philly Voice writing about Stowers,
- 17:55Speaker 1: how he's almost borderline unplayable.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I mean, unplayable in that for week one, week two,
- 18:03Speaker 2: if you're having him active, what role is he serving?
- 18:05Speaker 2: He's not out there catching a lot of passes, and
- 18:09Speaker 2: he's only running with the second and third teams, and
- 18:12Speaker 2: physicality has been a difficult part for him.
- 18:15Speaker 3: He's not.
- 18:16Speaker 2: helping you out immensely on special teams. It's got a
- 18:21Speaker 2: lot to learn. And that's fine. That's kind of what
- 18:23Speaker 2: was expected. But I did think I would see a
- 18:28Speaker 2: little bit more in the passing game from him as
- 18:30Speaker 2: camp went on, and you really haven't. So, you know,
- 18:33Speaker 2: you're looking at Dallas Goddard as your starting tight end,
- 18:36Speaker 2: but he gets nicked up and he's on the downside.
- 18:38Speaker 2: And if he gets hurt, like, where are you going
- 18:42Speaker 2: for wide tight end production? Someone who's blocking and receiving
- 18:47Speaker 2: at the same time. Johnny Munt will give you blocking,
- 18:49Speaker 2: not receiving. Calcaterra's been hurt for about a week now.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I don't know if he's going to be on the 53,
- 18:55Speaker 2: but if he does, he only gives you receiving.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Not blocking.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Just talked about Stowers. I don't know if he'll be active.
- 19:02Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 19:03Speaker 2: He's certainly not giving you both. Cam Latu, I've been
- 19:08Speaker 2: talking him up and talking him up, and he dropped
- 19:09Speaker 2: the pass today, and I felt like an idiot. But
- 19:12Speaker 2: no matter what, he just doesn't get it. He doesn't
- 19:14Speaker 2: get the opportunity. He doesn't get the ball thrown his way.
- 19:17Speaker 2: He can block. They just don't seem to use him
- 19:19Speaker 2: the way I would think that they would. So I
- 19:21Speaker 2: don't really see.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Where he's going to come from. Especially in an offense
- 19:26Speaker 1: where the tight end has been very productive.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Right. And in an offense where we expect to see
- 19:33Speaker 2: a lot of 12 personnel, multiple tight end usage, I
- 19:37Speaker 2: think the picture looks wonky right now.
