- 1:30SPEAKER_17: Rawdoggin it.
- 1:31SPEAKER_17: Rawdogg.
- 1:32SPEAKER_17: Wait, is raw dog a bad thing?
- 1:35SPEAKER_20: Depending on the context.
- 1:37SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 1:37SPEAKER_17: What is what so is it adult?
- 1:40SPEAKER_20: Yeah, it's adult themed.
- 1:41SPEAKER_17: Maybe we won't do it then.
- 1:42SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:43SPEAKER_20: Okay.
- 1:44SPEAKER_20: I'm sure during the course of the episode, we we will.
- 1:47SPEAKER_20: It's pretty sad that I don't know what raw dogging is.
- 1:49SPEAKER_20: Well, I mean, that's it's kind of a Don't tell me what it is.
- 1:54SPEAKER_20: I don't I don't know if I'm No, I'm just I'm just saying it's kind of a it's kind of a nasty concept, you know.
- 2:00SPEAKER_20: I'm just like, yeah.
- 2:01SPEAKER_17: Is that like no underwear?
- 2:02SPEAKER_17: No, that's not commando.
- 2:03SPEAKER_20: That's commando.
- 2:04SPEAKER_17: Rawdogging it.
- 2:05SPEAKER_17: Yeah, we'll just stop there and we'll We're going commando.
- 2:13SPEAKER_17: Both Doug and I are not wearing pants.
- 2:17SPEAKER_17: What if there's a word for that?
- 2:19SPEAKER_17: Gross.
- 2:26SPEAKER_18: Am I wrong?
- 2:27SPEAKER_18: Nope.
- 2:29SPEAKER_18: Oh.
- 2:31SPEAKER_18: We are trouserless.
- 2:33SPEAKER_18: That's a good start to the podcast.
- 2:35SPEAKER_18: Episode 266.
- 2:36SPEAKER_18: Trouserless.
- 2:37SPEAKER_18: Trouserless.
- 2:40unknown: Oh.
- 2:41SPEAKER_20: You're that O'Brien and Doug podcast?
- 2:43SPEAKER_20: They don't wear pants.
- 2:45SPEAKER_20: Is it on video?
- 2:46SPEAKER_20: No, thank God.
- 2:48SPEAKER_17: The one episode we should be filming right now.
- 2:52SPEAKER_17: Oh my word.
- 2:55SPEAKER_17: Oh, all right.
- 2:56SPEAKER_17: So what has happened since the last time you were here?
- 2:59SPEAKER_17: Um It was Halloween! Oh, that's right.
- 3:02SPEAKER_17: Yeah, we had our Halloween episode, which wasn't really a Halloween episode.
- 3:05SPEAKER_20: We just we talked about movies.
- 3:08SPEAKER_20: We've talked about some, you know, horror movies and things like that.
- 3:10SPEAKER_20: Yep.
- 3:10SPEAKER_20: Halloween that night.
- 3:12SPEAKER_20: Uh I meant I don't know what it was like at your school, but our school, it was like the teachers more went out with the costumes than the kids did.
- 3:21SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah, I think that's true.
- 3:22SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 3:23unknown: Yeah.
- 3:23SPEAKER_20: Which I thought was really funny.
- 3:25SPEAKER_20: Because I was on a Zoom meeting earlier, and one of the one of the people she goes to the same school I'm subbing at.
- 3:32SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 3:33SPEAKER_20: And she was like, uh the Tia was asking people, like, uh, hey, uh, what'd you guys do for Halloween?
- 3:40SPEAKER_20: And and she was like, Well, our school's kind of boring.
- 3:43SPEAKER_20: We didn't do much.
- 3:44SPEAKER_20: I started laughing.
- 3:45SPEAKER_20: And she goes, Why are you laughing, Doug?
- 3:47SPEAKER_20: I've been subbing there for like six weeks now, and she is not wrong.
- 3:52SPEAKER_20: I was like, it was, it was, I mean, some of the kids basically, like the I was upstairs with the high school and the middle school kids.
- 3:59SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 4:01SPEAKER_20: None of them really did, except for a few girls, they painted up like uh penny wise, right?
- 4:07SPEAKER_20: Painted up their face, but they didn't put a costume on or anything.
- 4:10SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 4:10SPEAKER_20: They were just painting their faces.
- 4:12SPEAKER_20: Just to say they were I think they were gonna do something later for the night.
- 4:16SPEAKER_20: Sure, sure.
- 4:17SPEAKER_20: You know, but for the day they did nothing, but the teachers like some of the teachers like all got together and were characters from that movie Inside Out.
- 4:26SPEAKER_17: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 4:27SPEAKER_20: Okay, yeah.
- 4:28SPEAKER_20: I was like, what the what is going on?
- 4:30SPEAKER_17: Yeah, no, it's yeah, it's that was crazy.
- 4:32SPEAKER_17: And I never dress up, and that's just because I work in four schools, yeah, and like one school will be doing something and the other schools will not.
- 4:42SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 4:42SPEAKER_17: So if I dress up as Frankenstein and I went to another school, I'm the only one at that school dressed up.
- 4:46SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 4:47SPEAKER_17: Especially the high school.
- 4:48SPEAKER_20: Oh yeah.
- 4:49SPEAKER_20: Yeah, I totally get it.
- 4:49SPEAKER_17: Or the middle school, you know, I go to one of those schools and it's like, yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_17: So I don't even do it.
- 4:53SPEAKER_17: And they'll come in and they'll say, the kids will come in and say, What are you dressed up as?
- 4:57SPEAKER_17: I'm dressed up as a music teacher.
- 4:59SPEAKER_17: What are you talking about?
- 5:00SPEAKER_20: Yeah, I know I I don't get that question because everybody knows I'm a fraud.
- 5:04SPEAKER_20: So they're just like, oh, it's just Doug.
- 5:06SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 5:06SPEAKER_20: He's pretending to be a teacher.
- 5:08SPEAKER_20: And I'm like, guilty as charged, you know.
- 5:11SPEAKER_20: But that night I did, I did, I did uphold my tradition of watching uh It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
- 5:18SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 5:18SPEAKER_20: And uh The Legend of See Sleepy Hollow, the old Disney run.
- 5:24SPEAKER_17: Oh, okay.
- 5:24SPEAKER_17: So we still haven't we Myra was gonna watch that, but we never got around to it.
- 5:28SPEAKER_17: Yeah, so I did that.
- 5:30SPEAKER_17: That was my Halloween.
- 5:31SPEAKER_17: Very cool.
- 5:32SPEAKER_17: My Halloween was nothing.
- 5:35SPEAKER_20: Uh I saw Myra all dressed up as uh Myra went out with her friends.
- 5:39SPEAKER_20: Something from Wicked.
- 5:40SPEAKER_17: From Wicked, she was Glinda.
- 5:42SPEAKER_17: Yes, that's right.
- 5:42SPEAKER_17: Yep, and and so Theresa, let's see, what did I do?
- 5:46SPEAKER_17: Theresa took her out um to they went to like a trunk or treat.
- 5:51SPEAKER_17: Oh, yeah.
- 5:51SPEAKER_17: Actually, they went trick-or-treating on on Barton as well, and and and my wife went with her.
- 5:56SPEAKER_17: Um actually this kind of hurt my feelings, but not not really.
- 6:02SPEAKER_17: It's understandable.
- 6:04SPEAKER_17: Um one of the reasons my daughter didn't want to go to the because they had the like a dance at the rec, a father-daughter dance.
- 6:14SPEAKER_17: And so my daughter's in sixth grade.
- 6:17SPEAKER_17: This would I think would have been the last year that she can do it.
- 6:20SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 6:20SPEAKER_17: And she didn't want to go this year and and I knew why.
- 6:24SPEAKER_17: And then I was going to take her to trick or treating.
- 6:29SPEAKER_17: And then she said, my daughter said, No, I want mom to do it.
- 6:32SPEAKER_17: I was like, okay, I mean that's you know, that's fine.
- 6:35SPEAKER_17: And and so mom's like, why?
- 6:40SPEAKER_17: Because uh, if anyone saw me out there, it would be Mr.
- 6:46SPEAKER_10: Mosher, Mr.
- 6:48SPEAKER_17: Mosher, yeah.
- 6:50SPEAKER_17: And so she didn't want to put up with that.
- 6:52SPEAKER_17: And I can understand.
- 6:53SPEAKER_20: I get it.
- 6:54SPEAKER_17: You know?
- 6:54SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 6:54SPEAKER_17: So so that type of thing, it kind of takes me away from my kid, you know.
- 6:59SPEAKER_20: But I mean, she's not gonna be I mean, if she goes trick-or-trading next year, it'll be a miracle.
- 7:03SPEAKER_17: Oh no, I know.
- 7:04SPEAKER_17: I know that.
- 7:05SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 7:05SPEAKER_17: No, but I but it was just, you know, she didn't want to go to the father-daughter dance because of that same reason because the last time we went to the father-daughter dance, that's what it was.
- 7:13SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 7:14SPEAKER_17: All of the daughters ignored their fathers and they came and danced with me.
- 7:18SPEAKER_17: I felt so bad.
- 7:19SPEAKER_17: You know, like like the dad.
- 7:21SPEAKER_17: I think we talked about this on the podcast at the time.
- 7:23SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I probably did, yeah.
- 7:24SPEAKER_17: You know, the dads would be standing there and they come up and they hug me.
- 7:26SPEAKER_17: You know, Mr.
- 7:27SPEAKER_17: Mojo! I'm like, your dad is right there.
- 7:30SPEAKER_18: Go hug me.
- 7:32SPEAKER_18: Straight there, he can see everything.
- 7:35SPEAKER_18: That's not what I meant.
- 7:37SPEAKER_18: Go away.
- 7:40SPEAKER_20: That would have been funny, though.
- 7:44SPEAKER_20: Get out of here, kid.
- 7:45SPEAKER_20: You bother me.
- 7:48SPEAKER_18: Holy cow.
- 7:51SPEAKER_17: So anyway, uh, so yeah, uh I can't remember what I did.
- 7:54SPEAKER_17: I I think I just stayed home and watched TV.
- 7:57SPEAKER_17: Yeah, you might as well, man.
- 7:58SPEAKER_17: I I don't know.
- 7:58SPEAKER_17: Uh I'm uh uh because the boys, I don't even remember where the boys were.
- 8:02SPEAKER_20: I know that uh Well, I saw Finn and Hannah were all dressed up.
- 8:05SPEAKER_20: Hannah was trying to Rapunzel.
- 8:08SPEAKER_17: Yeah, so Finn went down and helped with the trunk or treat down uh uh in Mars Hill, Westfield actually.
- 8:13SPEAKER_17: And then they went to their youth uh youth group down in Mars Hill and helped out.
- 8:16SPEAKER_17: And yeah, they dressed up as as uh Rapunzel and Flynn.
- 8:21SPEAKER_20: I I don't know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_20: I just know Rapunzel, so I don't know.
- 8:23SPEAKER_17: Yeah, and I think if I recall, Eli worked.
- 8:26SPEAKER_17: Eli was at the movie theater.
- 8:28SPEAKER_17: Oh Friday.
- 8:29SPEAKER_17: I think um but the next day uh we all went down to Hamden.
- 8:37SPEAKER_17: Um so the boys had their soccer final or soccer semifinal.
- 8:42SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 8:43SPEAKER_17: Um so we went to the girls had theirs at noon, so my wife, my daughter, and I drove down and we went to the girls' game, and it was so windy.
- 8:52SPEAKER_17: We're sitting on the bleachers and it was so f it was freezing cold because the wind was like right at us.
- 8:56SPEAKER_17: Where was it at?
- 8:57SPEAKER_17: This one was in Herman.
- 8:59SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah.
- 9:00SPEAKER_17: And so we went to that, girls lost, uh, was kind of a bummer.
- 9:08SPEAKER_17: And then my girls went shopping and after they dropped me off at Bull Moose.
- 9:14SPEAKER_17: I did, however, not buy anything.
- 9:17SPEAKER_17: What?
- 9:17SPEAKER_17: I didn't buy anything, uh, which surprised me.
- 9:21SPEAKER_17: Where am I?
- 9:21SPEAKER_17: I know, right?
- 9:22SPEAKER_17: Is this your house?
- 9:24SPEAKER_17: It uh it totally surprised me, but you know how I am when I get in there, it's like I I I I don't know, I don't know what I want.
- 9:29SPEAKER_20: I think yeah, I think it's just you know sensory overload.
- 9:32SPEAKER_20: I think it is because there's just like so many things that you could get, right, and then you just end up not getting anything.
- 9:37SPEAKER_17: That's exactly what it is.
- 9:38SPEAKER_17: I had uh Black Country Communion's uh second album in my hand.
- 9:42SPEAKER_17: I had uh there was another blues album, I can't remember what it was, but I had that in my hand, and I think I had like three CDs in my hand.
- 9:49SPEAKER_17: And I was walking around, I was walking around, I was walking around, and I was like, I'm gonna put this one back.
- 9:54SPEAKER_17: I don't want that one.
- 9:55SPEAKER_17: Uh I mean I do want it, but no, no, no.
- 9:58SPEAKER_17: Now I'll put this one back.
- 9:59SPEAKER_17: Do I really want this?
- 10:02SPEAKER_17: So I put it back, and then I get a text.
- 10:05SPEAKER_17: We're here.
- 10:06SPEAKER_17: So I gotta go.
- 10:07SPEAKER_17: Uh which is okay.
- 10:08SPEAKER_17: I mean, you know I'll get down there again.
- 10:10SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_17: Uh and blow all kinds of money.
- 10:13SPEAKER_17: But anyway, um then we went to the boys' game, which was in Hampton, and we played a fantastic game.
- 10:21SPEAKER_17: Uh this we were number five, they were number one.
- 10:25SPEAKER_17: We played F uh Foxcroft Academy, yeah.
- 10:27SPEAKER_17: Uh, which we've lost to once and tied once.
- 10:31SPEAKER_17: They're number one.
- 10:32SPEAKER_17: They were number one.
- 10:33SPEAKER_17: So it was number five playing number one.
- 10:35SPEAKER_17: We held them off the whole first half, zero zero.
- 10:40SPEAKER_17: And then they got lucky and scored a goal.
- 10:43SPEAKER_17: And I don't remember what the last score it was, it was like three or four to zero.
- 10:47SPEAKER_17: We just once they got the goal, just opened the floodgate.
- 10:50SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I think our our our boys just kind of was like, oh it's over now.
- 10:54SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I kind of see that um which was and it was it was our senior you know, the seniors were were pretty emotional about it.
- 11:03SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it's because the last time they're ever gonna play high school soccer.
- 11:06SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 11:07SPEAKER_17: You know, even my sophomore was kind of misty eyed about it, you know.
- 11:11SPEAKER_17: So it was a quiet ride back, but it was you know, it was good.
- 11:15SPEAKER_17: They were it was a great team to watch.
- 11:18SPEAKER_17: And a gr they had a great season.
- 11:20SPEAKER_17: Good so um and my son, we were just talking about this.
- 11:24SPEAKER_17: Eli got all state on the all all state team and and all roustics.
- 11:28SPEAKER_17: All rootic, yeah.
- 11:29SPEAKER_17: So yeah, good for him.
- 11:30SPEAKER_17: Yeah, very cool.
- 11:32SPEAKER_20: Um and next up is basketball, so and next yeah, and next up is basketball.
- 11:36SPEAKER_17: And Myra's already playing basketball.
- 11:38SPEAKER_17: Yep, so we it it never ends.
- 11:42SPEAKER_20: You got just going one from one sport to the next.
- 11:44SPEAKER_20: It's so true.
- 11:45SPEAKER_17: Sunday, so so they had that uh on Saturday, the soccer thing.
- 11:50SPEAKER_17: Sunday, um Myra had uh basketball tournament in Holton.
- 11:58SPEAKER_17: Wow.
- 11:58SPEAKER_17: She had to be in Holton at 745.
- 12:00SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_17: So, you know, that was that was our weekend.
- 12:07SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it was good.
- 12:08SPEAKER_17: It was all good.
- 12:09SPEAKER_17: Um so let's talk about first let's talk about Todd Snyder.
- 12:14SPEAKER_17: Because I know that you mentioned that when you first came in.
- 12:16SPEAKER_20: I just thought it's so weird.
- 12:18SPEAKER_20: I haven't thought about that guy in months.
- 12:20SPEAKER_20: All of a sudden I see him on, you know, coming up in the headlines, like, oh, he got uh he got assaulted outside of a show or you know, or wherever he's playing.
- 12:28SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 12:28SPEAKER_20: And then like hours later I see Todd Schneider arrested, and I'm like, what is going on with this guy?
- 12:35SPEAKER_20: Well, all of a sudden he's just like, What?
- 12:38SPEAKER_17: I think he um he The article that I read said that they had to call the police department and to to to kind of get information and there was no attack reported.
- 12:51SPEAKER_17: There was no assault reported.
- 12:53SPEAKER_17: Um he was arrested for being belligerent in the hospital.
- 12:56SPEAKER_17: Yeah, he was yes, that's what he was being treated for an assault of some sort.
- 13:00SPEAKER_20: Yeah, but nobody had reported it.
- 13:02SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 13:02SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 13:03SPEAKER_17: But he was belligerent to the staff, and then you know, he they made him leave and he came back mouthing off.
- 13:09SPEAKER_17: See, that's where you get in trouble.
- 13:10SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it is.
- 13:11SPEAKER_17: But if you wonder who we're talking about, because uh Todd Snyder, I would say he's a cult favorite, right?
- 13:19SPEAKER_20: I mean, yeah, he's yeah, I would say so.
- 13:21SPEAKER_17: I mean he's not he's not big by any standards, but well, I think among artists he is.
- 13:28SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 13:29SPEAKER_17: Um I'll give you kind of an indication.
- 13:32SPEAKER_20: Like the way we feel about Big Head Todd the Monsters.
- 13:34SPEAKER_20: I mean, they're you know Right.
- 13:35SPEAKER_20: They're uh it's a cult following.
- 13:37SPEAKER_17: Yeah, oh for sure.
- 13:38SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 13:38SPEAKER_17: For sure.
- 13:39SPEAKER_17: But I'll play uh just a couple of his uh a couple of his tunes here because um well the one that this is I don't know if this is the first one that we heard.
- 13:49SPEAKER_20: Or if it was the talk in Seattle first one I ever heard was the talk in Seattle blues.
- 13:54SPEAKER_17: Okay, so this is must have been the second, because this one we used to sting this one, I remember.
- 13:58SPEAKER_17: All right, guy.
- 13:59SPEAKER_17: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:01SPEAKER_20: Long time ago.
- 14:02SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_09: You know, just the other morning.
- 14:06SPEAKER_09: Hang around in my house.
- 14:55SPEAKER_17: So there's that, and that was uh, I think as far as like hit songs, he never had really any hit songs, but that was a pretty big signature.
- 15:03SPEAKER_17: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:04SPEAKER_17: We always liked that one.
- 15:05SPEAKER_17: But this one um is uh what we really kind of fell in love with.
- 15:11SPEAKER_17: Because keep in mind, we come from the 80s rock and roll generation.
- 15:19SPEAKER_17: You know, we talk about it all the time, docket and stuff like that.
- 15:22SPEAKER_17: And then the Seattle grunge.
- 15:24SPEAKER_20: Yeah, we were there for that.
- 15:25SPEAKER_17: We were there for that.
- 15:26SPEAKER_17: We were on the front lines, it came it came and took over.
- 15:29SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 15:29SPEAKER_17: And so he's kind of making fun of the Seattle.
- 15:34SPEAKER_20: I think he's yeah, I think he's kind of making fun of the whole grunge.
- 15:37SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 15:37SPEAKER_20: Uh because grunge bands just came out of nowhere all the time.
- 15:40SPEAKER_17: And they were all it was like the hair bands, they were all cookie gutter.
- 15:44SPEAKER_17: Yeah, you know, they all had the same type of thing.
- 15:45SPEAKER_17: Flannel, long hair.
- 15:47SPEAKER_17: Yep.
- 15:47SPEAKER_17: So this is the talk in Seattle grunge blues.
- 15:53SPEAKER_08: Hey, hey, my my rock and roll will never die.
- 15:58SPEAKER_08: Hang your hair down in your eyes, you'll make a million dollars.
- 16:05SPEAKER_08: Sent out demos with everybody past.
- 16:07SPEAKER_08: The one day we finally took the plunge, moved out to Seattle to play some grunge, watching that.
- 16:16SPEAKER_08: Eddie better.
- 16:21SPEAKER_17: I'm not gonna I'm not gonna play the whole song, but uh you should you should go uh Songs from the Daily Planet is the name of the album.
- 16:27SPEAKER_17: Uh and talk at Seattle Grunge Blues.
- 16:29SPEAKER_17: I don't even know, was it a hidden track?
- 16:30SPEAKER_17: It wasn't a hidden track.
- 16:31SPEAKER_20: I don't think it was a hidden track, but I mean it it's it's a fantastic song.
- 16:35SPEAKER_20: We we love that song.
- 16:36SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah.
- 16:37SPEAKER_17: So um so I thought one of the things that we could do is kind of catch up on some headlines from ultimate classicrock.com because we already did you say my lady or alrighty.
- 16:49SPEAKER_17: I said alrighty.
- 16:51SPEAKER_17: I might have said a funny.
- 16:53SPEAKER_17: I still don't know what you said.
- 16:55SPEAKER_17: I have no idea.
- 16:56SPEAKER_17: Um let's see.
- 17:00SPEAKER_17: Yeah, okay.
- 17:00SPEAKER_17: We're gonna go past Halloween here because uh I do want to say that uh I did we already talk about the Springsteen thing?
- 17:08SPEAKER_17: The movie?
- 17:09SPEAKER_17: The movie?
- 17:09SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 17:10SPEAKER_17: And and how it was a flop?
- 17:11SPEAKER_17: Yep.
- 17:12SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 17:12SPEAKER_20: We did talk about that.
- 17:13SPEAKER_17: We did talk about that.
- 17:14SPEAKER_17: Okay, so more tours have been announced uh for next year.
- 17:19SPEAKER_20: I see Toto is going out now.
- 17:20SPEAKER_17: Toto is going out.
- 17:21SPEAKER_17: Uh Peter Chris, uh, former drummer for Kiss, just announced a new solo album.
- 17:27SPEAKER_17: I I yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 17:29SPEAKER_17: He announced it on Halloween.
- 17:31SPEAKER_17: Uh so prepare yourself for Chris Incorporated.
- 17:35SPEAKER_17: Ooh, that's a terrible name.
- 17:37SPEAKER_17: Um, Gary Newman is coming to North America with dates, uh, concert dates next year.
- 17:43SPEAKER_17: Do you remember Gary Newman?
- 17:44SPEAKER_17: Do I?
- 17:45SPEAKER_17: Cars.
- 17:50SPEAKER_17: You probably don't.
- 17:51SPEAKER_17: I don't know that song.
- 17:52SPEAKER_17: Hold on.
- 17:53SPEAKER_20: Is that a real thing?
- 17:54SPEAKER_17: It's a real thing, yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_17: I think I I almost almost think that's all he's known for.
- 17:59SPEAKER_17: If I type in Gary Newman, Cars is the first thing that comes up.
- 18:02SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 18:03SPEAKER_17: Uh I almost think that was the only hit he had.
- 18:06SPEAKER_17: Um I could be wrong.
- 18:09SPEAKER_17: Um, I usually am.
- 18:12SPEAKER_17: But uh I just wanted to play this a little bit for you so you'll see if you can recognize it.
- 18:18SPEAKER_17: This one was the remastered version in 2009, so it might be completely.
- 18:22SPEAKER_20: When did the original come?
- 18:24SPEAKER_17: The 80s.
- 18:29SPEAKER_20: Oh! Yeah.
- 18:30SPEAKER_17: Yeah, you know this song.
- 18:31SPEAKER_17: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:32SPEAKER_17: So this was his really one and only hit, I think.
- 18:36SPEAKER_17: I think.
- 18:38SPEAKER_17: Anyway, he's just announced uh he's just announced some dates next year.
- 18:44SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 18:45SPEAKER_20: Yeah, that guy, okay.
- 18:45SPEAKER_20: Yeah, that guy.
- 18:47SPEAKER_17: Um, did you see the new band that Darius Rucker's doing?
- 18:53SPEAKER_20: Well, I heard something on the radio.
- 18:55SPEAKER_20: They were doing like a weird version of hold my hand.
- 18:58SPEAKER_20: Oh no, that's that's different.
- 19:01SPEAKER_17: That's different.
- 19:01SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 19:02SPEAKER_17: Yeah, we should let's let's go there first.
- 19:03SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 19:04SPEAKER_17: Okay, because I do wanna I do want to talk about that.
- 19:06SPEAKER_17: Because that uh I heard that on the country station.
- 19:08SPEAKER_17: I'm like, what is happening?
- 19:10SPEAKER_17: It kind of pisses me off.
- 19:12SPEAKER_17: It kind of sucks.
- 19:13SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 19:15SPEAKER_17: You know who it is, and it's a and it's an artist, it's a country artist that I like.
- 19:19SPEAKER_17: Oh, really?
- 19:19SPEAKER_17: Um uh let's see.
- 19:22SPEAKER_17: I think it's Scotty McCrear.
- 19:24SPEAKER_17: Look, it's the first thing that comes up.
- 19:26SPEAKER_17: I I don't agree with this.
- 19:29SPEAKER_17: I don't uh this is some record company guy saying, you know what you should do.
- 19:35SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah, that's that's totally what it is.
- 19:37SPEAKER_17: Uh the song is called Bottle Rockets.
- 19:40SPEAKER_17: And it's Hold My Hand, literally.
- 19:43SPEAKER_20: Yeah, I mean I kept hearing, I was like, did somebody do a country version of this?
- 19:49SPEAKER_20: And they've you know Oh, and it's hootie.
- 19:51SPEAKER_20: It is hootie.
- 19:52SPEAKER_20: But it was is it's like hootie with Scotty McCreary?
- 19:55SPEAKER_20: Yes.
- 19:56SPEAKER_20: Oh, but the chorus, it's hootie.
- 19:59SPEAKER_20: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 20:00SPEAKER_20: That's what was throwing me off because I I'd hear the vo the verse.
- 20:04SPEAKER_20: I was like, well, okay, that's weird.
- 20:05SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 20:06SPEAKER_20: And then it went in the whole.
- 20:08SPEAKER_20: I was like, what is happening?
- 20:09SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I I don't like it.
- 20:11SPEAKER_17: I mean, yeah, I I didn't care for it at all.
- 20:13SPEAKER_17: So I like Scotty McCreary, and you know, I love Hootie and the Blowfish.
- 20:16SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 20:17SPEAKER_17: And I don't know if it's just them stay trying to stay relevant.
- 20:21SPEAKER_17: I don't know.
- 20:23SPEAKER_17: And this would be a good song without that part.
- 20:27SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 20:28SPEAKER_17: You'll see what I'm you'll see what we're talking about.
- 20:47SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 20:51SPEAKER_17: You know, i i if he and I wonder, I I gotta wonder, there must be something.
- 20:57SPEAKER_20: It's like it's like you like you like peanut butter.
- 21:02SPEAKER_20: And you like whoopie pies.
- 21:07SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 21:07SPEAKER_20: But if you add peanut butter filling to the whoopee pie, you hate it.
- 21:12SPEAKER_17: You see what I'm saying?
- 21:13SPEAKER_17: No, I kinda like that actually.
- 21:14SPEAKER_20: Well, I'm I'm just the bad example, but that's what I'm saying.
- 21:17SPEAKER_20: You know, the Scotty McCurry song is probably pretty good.
- 21:21SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 21:21SPEAKER_20: As is Hold My Hand is a classic.
- 21:25SPEAKER_20: We love that song, we love Hootie, but you put them together and it's like you got poop.
- 21:30SPEAKER_17: I gotta you know what I mean.
- 21:32SPEAKER_17: I gotta wonder.
- 21:33SPEAKER_17: And this is let me let me pause this for a second.
- 21:36SPEAKER_17: So I I gotta wonder, and there's gotta be an interview somewhere with either Hootie or Scotty, or both, promoting it, you know, and saying how this came together.
- 21:47SPEAKER_17: There's gotta be one somewhere.
- 21:48SPEAKER_17: I haven't looked for it.
- 21:49SPEAKER_17: But well, didn't Darius get arrested recently and now he needs bail money, maybe?
- 21:54SPEAKER_17: I he got arrested a while ago, like years ago.
- 21:58SPEAKER_17: Or did he get arrested again?
- 22:00SPEAKER_20: I don't know if that's what I'm asking.
- 22:01SPEAKER_17: Oh, I don't know.
- 22:01SPEAKER_20: Because he he kind of has a habit of doing that.
- 22:03SPEAKER_20: So I'm thinking maybe he needs court costs.
- 22:07SPEAKER_17: I don't I don't think he's hurting for money.
- 22:09SPEAKER_17: I don't know if he needs it.
- 22:10SPEAKER_20: I didn't think so, but I'm just saying, you know.
- 22:11SPEAKER_17: Here's what I think might have happened.
- 22:13SPEAKER_17: Uh let me see who the writers on this song are, if they say it.
- 22:18SPEAKER_20: I think it's just a bunch of guys sitting around going, hey, how could we ruin this 90s song?
- 22:23SPEAKER_17: Well, what I Hey, I know.
- 22:25SPEAKER_17: What I bet happened was Me, Mr.
- 22:27SPEAKER_17: Kata.
- 22:28SPEAKER_17: Because uh in the chorus it says when she would we would she would make me get my guitar and play.
- 22:34SPEAKER_17: I bet you the songwriters, I bet you the song originally went, she might made me get my guitar and play Hold My Hand.
- 22:40SPEAKER_17: And then somebody went somebody went, you know what we could do?
- 22:44SPEAKER_20: Yeah, we could get Hootie to sing that song in the song.
- 22:49SPEAKER_20: Or that chord structure was already there.
- 22:53SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 22:53SPEAKER_20: And somebody was like, hey, that sounds like Hold My Hand.
- 22:56SPEAKER_20: Wait a second.
- 22:56SPEAKER_20: You got your chocolate and my peanut butter.
- 23:11SPEAKER_20: There's doing it.
- 23:12SPEAKER_20: There's doing it.
- 23:24SPEAKER_20: I wanna like this song.
- 23:26SPEAKER_20: I know, but I can't.
- 23:28SPEAKER_16: No, same.
- 23:29SPEAKER_20: I can't do it.
- 23:30SPEAKER_20: I can't bring myself to like it.
- 23:33SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I'm the same.
- 23:34SPEAKER_17: And I love Hootie in the book.
- 23:36SPEAKER_20: I love Hootie, man, but I can't get behind this at all.
- 23:39SPEAKER_17: And I and I really like Scotty McCreary as a as a country singer.
- 23:42SPEAKER_20: Yeah, my mom loves that guy.
- 23:43SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 23:44SPEAKER_20: So see, this would be a great song without that.
- 23:46SPEAKER_20: Without Hootie.
- 23:48SPEAKER_20: Yeah, I mean, he's a he's a great artist on his own.
- 23:51SPEAKER_20: Exactly.
- 23:51SPEAKER_20: Why did he have to drag Hootie down with it?
- 23:55SPEAKER_17: Uh no, what I'm talking about, I don't know if you've actually heard about this.
- 24:00SPEAKER_17: Uh let me hold on.
- 24:02SPEAKER_17: Let me Google it because See, I wanna like it.
- 24:08SPEAKER_20: I wanna like it.
- 24:09SPEAKER_20: I really, really do, but I just can't do it, man.
- 24:15SPEAKER_17: I don't remember the name of the band.
- 24:17SPEAKER_17: Hold on.
- 24:17SPEAKER_17: So, you know, Derry, I I guess I don't know.
- 24:20SPEAKER_17: Oh, that's it right there.
- 24:23SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 24:29SPEAKER_17: So the former drummer of the Black Crows, Steve Gorman.
- 24:33SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 24:34SPEAKER_17: Former bass player of REM, Mike Mills, and Darius Rucker have started a band.
- 24:40SPEAKER_17: Really?
- 24:41SPEAKER_17: Yes.
- 24:42SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it it seems to have come out of nowhere because it and I don't understand it because uh Darius Rucker has a fantastic country career, right?
- 24:52SPEAKER_17: Like a number one, like a platinum-selling country career.
- 24:57SPEAKER_17: And also he has Hootie and the Blowfish.
- 25:00SPEAKER_20: Yeah, I mean, the dude's a legend.
- 25:01SPEAKER_17: And and I guess I don't know, I I I'm not fancy.
- 25:04SPEAKER_20: And of course, and of course, the bass player from R-E-M, he's a legend in the in the right.
- 25:08SPEAKER_17: Exactly.
- 25:08SPEAKER_17: And then you got a drummer.
- 25:10SPEAKER_17: Well, I mean, Steve Gorman from the Black Crows is no slouch.
- 25:13SPEAKER_20: No, I'm not saying it is, but the Black Crows don't have the pedigree that R-E-M and Hootie and I agree with that.
- 25:19SPEAKER_17: So uh but the band it's called Howl Howl Howl.
- 25:23SPEAKER_17: Like H-O-W-L.
- 25:25SPEAKER_17: H-O-W-L.
- 25:26SPEAKER_17: Howl howl well howl.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Well, interesting because is it howl howl howl?
- 25:33SPEAKER_17: Oh, howl owl howl.
- 25:37SPEAKER_17: Okay, that is a terrible name.
- 25:39SPEAKER_17: Like, listen, Mr.
- 25:40SPEAKER_17: Owl, you should howl.
- 25:41SPEAKER_17: Howl, owl, howl.
- 25:42SPEAKER_17: Uh I wanna, I'm curious.
- 25:44SPEAKER_17: They have a song out called My Cologne.
- 25:47SPEAKER_17: What?
- 25:47SPEAKER_17: My Cologne.
- 25:48SPEAKER_17: Uh I'm gonna see if I can I'm gonna see if I can play it here.
- 25:51SPEAKER_17: Whoops.
- 25:52SPEAKER_17: That's YouTube music.
- 25:53SPEAKER_17: I don't have YouTube music.
- 25:54SPEAKER_17: Hold on.
- 25:55SPEAKER_17: Let's go back and see if I can do this.
- 25:59SPEAKER_17: Alright.
- 26:00SPEAKER_17: Uh this looks like it's an ad.
- 26:03SPEAKER_17: Uh I'm curious as to what it sounds like.
- 26:05SPEAKER_17: I have not heard it yet.
- 26:07SPEAKER_17: And you know, REM was is one of Darius' heroes.
- 26:10SPEAKER_17: That's true.
- 26:11SPEAKER_17: You know?
- 26:11SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 26:12SPEAKER_17: So the the chance to play with a hero, I can understand.
- 27:54SPEAKER_17: I'm not sure I like the lyrics.
- 27:56SPEAKER_17: I want to.
- 27:57SPEAKER_20: The lyrics kind of suck, but the feeling the song, the song is very is actually pretty great.
- 28:02SPEAKER_17: Yeah, the vibe is pretty cool.
- 28:04SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 28:07SPEAKER_20: It's like we took the best of Hootie and the best of REM, put them together.
- 28:11SPEAKER_17: Well, Darius Rucker apparently said, I hope people listen to this and realize it's just three old rock and roll friends that started hanging out.
- 28:18SPEAKER_20: I mean that's that's the vibe I'm getting, actually.
- 28:21SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 28:22SPEAKER_17: Uh I'm trying to see who's playing guitar.
- 28:36SPEAKER_17: It doesn't say.
- 28:40SPEAKER_20: I mean I mean they could get a Jerusal plays guitar, but he's not a guitar at this level.
- 28:45SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 28:46SPEAKER_17: I would imagine it's probably a touch-in person and they'll hire a band, hire a player to take it out.
- 28:51SPEAKER_17: Because they they do have.
- 28:53SPEAKER_17: I'm on their website right now.
- 28:55SPEAKER_17: They do have shows.
- 28:57SPEAKER_17: Really?
- 28:58SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 28:58SPEAKER_17: They're they're they're on tour.
- 28:59SPEAKER_16: They're playing Boston.
- 29:01SPEAKER_16: Wait, what's it what's today?
- 29:04SPEAKER_16: They're playing on Saturday in Boston.
- 29:09SPEAKER_17: Probably House of Blues or something.
- 29:11SPEAKER_17: Uh Paradise Rock Club.
- 29:13SPEAKER_17: No idea.
- 29:14SPEAKER_17: Um I I kind of like it, to be honest.
- 29:19SPEAKER_20: Actually, I I I don't hate it at all.
- 29:21SPEAKER_20: I mean, I actually, yeah, the lyrics kind of suck, but but.
- 29:24SPEAKER_17: Yeah, and I also don't like the name of the band.
- 29:26SPEAKER_20: Yeah, it's a it's a little mouthful, it's a it's a mouthful.
- 29:28SPEAKER_20: How owl howl.
- 29:32SPEAKER_17: They did that on purpose, I'm sure.
- 29:33SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 29:34SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 29:35SPEAKER_20: It's not weird at all.
- 29:37SPEAKER_17: So, yeah, well, that's so that happened.
- 29:40SPEAKER_17: How owl howl.
- 29:41SPEAKER_17: And and I will Is there an album out or is it just the song right now?
- 29:46SPEAKER_17: But they're writing songs, and I think they're probably gonna work around.
- 29:48SPEAKER_17: What if they're doing shows?
- 29:49SPEAKER_17: They must have more than one.
- 29:50SPEAKER_17: They must well, unless they're doing hoodie covers and and REM covers and Black Row covers.
- 29:55SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 29:55SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I don't know.
- 29:56SPEAKER_17: Um Bon Jovi announced uh tour next year.
- 30:01SPEAKER_20: Yeah, we talked about that.
- 30:02SPEAKER_17: We did?
- 30:02SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 30:03SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 30:03SPEAKER_17: Um we already talked about Sammy Hagar going to Europe.
- 30:07SPEAKER_17: George Lynch.
- 30:08SPEAKER_17: Did you read this?
- 30:09SPEAKER_17: Nope.
- 30:10SPEAKER_17: He admits I thought this was funny.
- 30:13SPEAKER_17: Because, you know, he was retiring Lynch Mob.
- 30:15SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 30:16SPEAKER_17: The name and everything.
- 30:17SPEAKER_17: He was just it's done.
- 30:18SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 30:19SPEAKER_17: Uh so he says, um Well I'll uh Seven months after performing what he said was his final concert as a leader of Lynch Mob, George Lynch says unapologetically explaining why he is once again touring under the controversial name.
- 30:37SPEAKER_17: And he says, This sounds like George Lynch.
- 30:40SPEAKER_17: Well, I think you can see a common thread throughout this interview that I made really bad decisions throughout my life.
- 30:47SPEAKER_17: Um after explaining that his uh January 2025 announcement of the final ride farewell tour for the band he formed, uh uh he confesses that the unexpected level of attention that resulted from the that news convinced him to change my m his mind.
- 31:02SPEAKER_17: There was some momentum and some interest because of that announcement.
- 31:05SPEAKER_17: So all of a sudden my agents started getting all this work opportunity.
- 31:08SPEAKER_17: He talked to me, as agents do, out of quitting Lynch Mob Touring.
- 31:12SPEAKER_17: So here we are.
- 31:12SPEAKER_17: We're still touring, we're still putting out records.
- 31:14SPEAKER_17: It's a different band than it was last year.
- 31:16SPEAKER_17: Brian Tishy is on drums now.
- 31:19SPEAKER_17: Oh.
- 31:19SPEAKER_17: Andrew Freeman from Last in Line is the lead singer.
- 31:22SPEAKER_17: Uh Jason Guino and myself.
- 31:24SPEAKER_17: It's a great band, and why not?
- 31:26SPEAKER_17: Um, as for what he would say to people declaring he went back on his promise to retire the band named Lynch Mob, he was blunt.
- 31:33SPEAKER_17: Well, I lied.
- 31:35SPEAKER_17: I changed my mind.
- 31:36SPEAKER_17: I'm sorry.
- 31:37SPEAKER_17: Sue me.
- 31:38SPEAKER_17: I'll see you in court.
- 31:39SPEAKER_17: I mean, what do you want me to tell you?
- 31:40SPEAKER_17: I make silly decisions, off the cuff decisions, sometimes that aren't well through thought out.
- 31:45SPEAKER_17: Here we are.
- 31:47SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 31:48SPEAKER_17: So Lynch Mob.
- 31:49SPEAKER_17: You gotta give him an A for honesty.
- 31:51SPEAKER_17: Yeah?
- 31:51SPEAKER_17: Yeah?
- 31:52SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 31:52SPEAKER_17: So Lynch Mob is still around.
- 31:54SPEAKER_17: Oops.
- 31:55SPEAKER_17: My bad.
- 31:56SPEAKER_17: Right?
- 31:57SPEAKER_17: Um Fleetwood Mac.
- 32:00SPEAKER_17: Um Stevie Nix and and uh Lindsay Buckingham are talking again.
- 32:05SPEAKER_17: Oh soap opera.
- 32:07SPEAKER_17: Of course it is.
- 32:08SPEAKER_17: Um Iron Maiden Expands 2026 North America Tour, so they're going to more places.
- 32:13SPEAKER_17: Uh I thought this would be kind of cool to talk about.
- 32:17SPEAKER_17: Uh I haven't read it, but I I know what my uh It's soup.
- 32:22SPEAKER_17: It says Remember staying homesick from school in the 80s?
- 32:27SPEAKER_17: These memories hit hard.
- 32:29SPEAKER_17: And the the the they have Campbell's chicken noodle soup.
- 32:32SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah.
- 32:33SPEAKER_17: Picture of it.
- 32:33SPEAKER_17: Yep.
- 32:33SPEAKER_17: And the price is right.
- 32:34SPEAKER_17: Price is right, man.
- 32:36SPEAKER_17: That's what we did.
- 32:37SPEAKER_17: Absolutely.
- 32:38SPEAKER_17: And and honestly, I got hooked on like the young and the restless.
- 32:42SPEAKER_20: No, you kind of had because that came on after yeah, it was directly.
- 32:46SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 32:46SPEAKER_20: Well wasn't it?
- 32:47SPEAKER_20: Was it?
- 32:48SPEAKER_20: Prices light came on at 11.
- 32:50SPEAKER_20: Like 11.

- 33:02SPEAKER_17: It was.
- 33:04SPEAKER_17: Bolton the Beautiful was only a half hour soap opera.
- 33:07SPEAKER_20: And then Young and the Restless.
- 33:08SPEAKER_17: And then Young and the Restless.
- 33:09SPEAKER_17: That's it.

- 33:53SPEAKER_20: Dude's wearing plot armor, and so you know he's gonna make it out alive, so he can do a freaking soap proper in the future and be on it forever and ever and ever because he's a freaking vampire.

- 36:50SPEAKER_17: Oh, uh Sally Jesse Raphael.
- 36:53SPEAKER_17: Did you ever watch Sally Jesse Raphael?

- 37:15SPEAKER_20: Um I don't remember watching talk shows.
- 37:17SPEAKER_20: I just remember um everything started with the prices right.
- 37:23SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
- 37:23SPEAKER_20: I don't think the TV was on until that.
- 37:28SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 37:28SPEAKER_17: Uh General Hospital.
- 37:30SPEAKER_17: I never did watch TV.
- 37:30SPEAKER_17: See, my grandmother used to watch that.
- 37:32SPEAKER_17: Yeah, but we didn't get it.
- 37:33SPEAKER_17: No, no, we didn't need it.
- 37:34SPEAKER_17: Because we were head country cable at the time.
- 37:36SPEAKER_17: Exactly.
- 37:36SPEAKER_17: And so we would watch what was on CBS.
- 37:38SPEAKER_17: Yeah, exactly.
- 37:39SPEAKER_17: Basically.
- 37:41SPEAKER_17: Oh, Scotty's nice tissues box of the box of the nice tissues.
- 37:44SPEAKER_17: Yeah.

- 38:03SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 38:04SPEAKER_17: Uh let's see.
- 38:05SPEAKER_17: Well, I used to have Hardy Boys books too.
- 38:08SPEAKER_17: I never got into Hardy Boys.
- 38:09SPEAKER_17: No.
- 38:09SPEAKER_17: No.
- 38:11SPEAKER_20: My sister was into uh Nancy Drew, I think.
- 38:14SPEAKER_17: Yeah, same type of thing.
- 38:16SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 38:16SPEAKER_17: Uh let's see.
- 38:19SPEAKER_17: That weird feeling of actually missing school.
- 38:23SPEAKER_20: No, I never had that.
- 38:24SPEAKER_17: No, I never missed school.
- 38:25SPEAKER_20: If I was out of school, man, that was like the best day.
- 38:26SPEAKER_20: I don't care.
- 38:27SPEAKER_20: I don't care if I had the plague.
- 38:29SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 38:29SPEAKER_20: I wasn't in school, that's a good day.
- 38:31SPEAKER_17: Right?
- 38:32SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 38:32SPEAKER_17: No, I was I was the same.
- 38:33SPEAKER_17: Mike, now my daughter, my youngest, if she missed, she gets like anxiety if she's at school, yes.
- 38:39SPEAKER_17: I don't get that.
- 38:40SPEAKER_17: Because she doesn't want to get behind.
- 38:42SPEAKER_17: She doesn't want to get back in.
- 38:43SPEAKER_20: Yeah, but see, she she she's smart, and we're we were underachievers.
- 38:48SPEAKER_20: So I I I get it.
- 38:50SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 38:50SPEAKER_20: Yeah, we didn't care about school.
- 38:52SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 38:53SPEAKER_17: Uh let's see.
- 38:54SPEAKER_17: Oh, this is interesting.
- 38:56SPEAKER_17: Soundgarden members talk final album.
- 38:58SPEAKER_17: I'd heard about that.
- 39:00SPEAKER_17: So so um I think uh Chris Cornell had some vocals recorded.
- 39:04SPEAKER_20: Yeah, and they were gonna do something.
- 39:05SPEAKER_20: I was reading something about the the guitar player, what's his face?
- 39:08SPEAKER_17: Kim Thale.
- 39:09SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 39:09SPEAKER_17: Yep.
- 39:09SPEAKER_20: He was saying something about doing something with those.
- 39:12SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 39:12SPEAKER_20: And something to do with Chris Cornell's wife, wife, or daughter, something.
- 39:18SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 39:18SPEAKER_20: They were putting this all together.
- 39:20SPEAKER_17: Now, how much of it do you think?
- 39:24SPEAKER_17: Well, I I I know that I I I don't doubt that they have some some original music uh set aside that was never released.
- 39:31SPEAKER_20: Well, even if they have just Chris Cornell with an acoustic guitar just putting down ideas, I still think that would be cool.
- 39:39SPEAKER_17: I do too, but do you think they will use a little bit, even a little bit, of AI.
- 39:48SPEAKER_20: These days.
- 39:50SPEAKER_20: Yeah, you we'll never know.
- 39:52SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 39:53SPEAKER_17: Uh I hate to bring that up, but it's true.
- 39:56SPEAKER_20: It's it's a possibility.
- 39:57SPEAKER_17: This I thought you'd be interested in.
- 39:59SPEAKER_17: I don't know if you saw this headline.
- 40:00SPEAKER_17: Megadeth's final album to feature a cover of a classic Metallica song.
- 40:05SPEAKER_20: That'll be interesting.
- 40:06SPEAKER_17: Uh I bet it'll be something off Kill Em All.
- 40:08SPEAKER_17: No, no, I uh I think it's already established what what it is.
- 40:11SPEAKER_17: Ride the Lightning.
- 40:13SPEAKER_20: Really?
- 40:13SPEAKER_20: Yep.
- 40:14SPEAKER_20: Well, I bet I bet Dave I bet I bet Dave had something to do with writing that before he left the band.
- 40:20SPEAKER_17: It's so funny.
- 40:20SPEAKER_17: I read something the other day.
- 40:22SPEAKER_17: Oh maybe it's in this, actually.
- 40:23SPEAKER_17: Maybe it uh No, I don't know, maybe it wasn't in this.
- 40:36SPEAKER_17: But uh I read something uh with Dave Mustaine in it recently where he said uh I'm I'm glad Kirk kept my solos.
- 40:46SPEAKER_20: Oh yeah.
- 40:47SPEAKER_20: I think I maybe it was when he was on the Sean Ryan show.
- 40:51SPEAKER_17: I don't know, but he always just came across as, you know, like I I was responsible for this.
- 40:58SPEAKER_17: You know, it was me that did all this.
- 40:59SPEAKER_17: It was my Well Killing All Kill, yes.
- 41:03SPEAKER_20: Ride the Lightning, I think he had still they it was stuff that they'd written before.
- 41:07SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 41:08SPEAKER_20: And on Kill Em All.
- 41:09SPEAKER_20: But after that it was all Kirk.
- 41:11SPEAKER_17: But do you think uh you don't think you so you think when Kirk came in and kind of took over that he kept Dave Mustaine's solos?
- 41:22SPEAKER_20: I bet he kept the the structure.
- 41:24SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 41:25SPEAKER_20: But he made him his soul, his own.
- 41:27SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 41:28SPEAKER_20: I don't think he did him no for no.
- 41:30SPEAKER_20: No, there's no way.
- 41:30SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 41:32SPEAKER_17: Um anyway, um Megadeth will release herself.
- 41:35SPEAKER_20: Actually, what was I reading yester last night?
- 41:37SPEAKER_20: Was it last night?
- 41:38SPEAKER_20: Dave Mustaine was talking about You gotta hold your Mega.
- 41:42SPEAKER_20: No, I was yeah, I was just because I was I can't hold it.
- 41:44SPEAKER_20: Um He was saying that the fantastic four.
- 41:50SPEAKER_20: Um Him, James Hatfield and two other guys are the best rhythm guitar players in hard rock metal.
- 41:59SPEAKER_20: But I can't wait.
- 42:00SPEAKER_20: It was him, James Hetfield, and two other guys.
- 42:02SPEAKER_20: I can't remember.
- 42:05SPEAKER_20: I don't remember.
- 42:06SPEAKER_20: It wouldn't surprise me if it was Carrie King, but I don't think it was.
- 42:10SPEAKER_20: I can't remember.
- 42:11SPEAKER_20: I wish I I could remember where I was reading that from.
- 42:14SPEAKER_17: Um the Meganeth self-titled final album comes out January 23rd, and it's going to include Ride the Lightning.
- 42:21SPEAKER_17: Uh he confirmed the rumor in an interview with Rolling Stone.
- 42:25SPEAKER_17: Um let's see.
- 42:28SPEAKER_17: It wasn't really that I wanted to do my version.
- 42:30SPEAKER_17: I think that we all wanted it to turn out a certain way, and for me, this was about something so much more than how a song turns out, it was about respect.
- 42:39SPEAKER_17: Um, oh, maybe this is what you're talking about.
- 42:43SPEAKER_17: Specifically, it's about respect for Metallica's James Hetfield, with whom Mustaine has had a famously fraught relationship for decades.
- 42:50SPEAKER_17: Yeah, he says, No one ever talks to me about that.
- 42:52SPEAKER_17: He says, uh Hetfield's guitar shop guitar chops.
- 42:56SPEAKER_17: One day he's a singer, the next day he's this effing powerhouse, and I've always expected him as a guitar player, so I wanted to do something to close the circle on my career right now, since it started off with Panic, Mustaine's pre-Metallica band, and several of the songs that ended up in the Metallica repertoire.
- 43:12SPEAKER_17: I wanted to do something that I felt would be a good song.
- 43:14SPEAKER_17: So that'll be interesting to hear his version of it.
- 43:19SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 43:23SPEAKER_17: Let's see.
- 43:24SPEAKER_17: I already told you about the Peter Chris album.
- 43:26SPEAKER_17: Yeah, so excited.
- 43:27SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I know you are.
- 43:34SPEAKER_17: This looked like an interesting um article.
- 43:37SPEAKER_17: Uh seven dumbest kiss lyrics as chosen by my wife.
- 43:45SPEAKER_17: This is an article by Matthew Wilkening.
- 43:51SPEAKER_20: Right?
- 43:53SPEAKER_20: Once in a while, they give you an article that you're just like that is.
- 43:57SPEAKER_20: I have to read this.
- 43:58SPEAKER_20: Awesome, yes.
- 43:59SPEAKER_17: Uh okay, so.
- 44:00SPEAKER_17: So there's a song from the Asylum album in eight in nineteen eighty five called Uh All Night.
- 44:09SPEAKER_17: Sample lyric.
- 44:11SPEAKER_17: Well, we work all day and we don't know why.
- 44:14SPEAKER_17: Well, there's just one thing that money can't buy.
- 44:16SPEAKER_17: When your body's starved, feed your appetite.
- 44:19SPEAKER_17: When you work all day, you gotta uh all night.
- 44:23SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 44:23SPEAKER_18: That's dumb.
- 44:24SPEAKER_18: That's dumb.
- 44:25SPEAKER_17: Yep, for sure.
- 44:26SPEAKER_17: Uh the part where they just say uh over and over gets her every time.
- 44:29SPEAKER_17: Oh, I have to hear this now.
- 44:30SPEAKER_17: I don't think I know this song.
- 44:32SPEAKER_17: Have you ever heard this song?
- 44:32SPEAKER_17: I don't think so, man.
- 44:34SPEAKER_17: Um the part where they say uh over and over gets me every time.
- 44:38SPEAKER_17: Uh I'm not sure she could even survive watching the actual video, which at one point features an army of scantily clad blondes dancing in formation while pushing around rolling beds complete with flashing red lights.
- 44:49SPEAKER_17: Well, now it's not it's not playing the video.
- 44:52SPEAKER_17: Maybe it's that bad.
- 44:53SPEAKER_20: Maybe they're just like, no, you don't need to see this.
- 44:55SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 44:55SPEAKER_17: Alright, well I'll come back to that if if so uh number two, Spit.
- 45:00SPEAKER_17: The uh the song Spit from Revenge, which was in 1992.
- 45:04SPEAKER_17: Uh again, I'm not a I mean, I was a KISS fan, but I'm not a huge Kiss fan.
- 45:08SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 45:08SPEAKER_17: So I don't know any of these sorts.
- 45:09SPEAKER_17: We're like in the Kiss Army Reserves.
- 45:12SPEAKER_12: Hold on, hold on.
- 45:14SPEAKER_12: Where is it?
- 45:17SPEAKER_12: Hold on.
- 45:18SPEAKER_18: You're in the KISS National Guard! Why isn't it working?
- 45:29SPEAKER_16: The KISS National Guard.
- 45:31SPEAKER_16: Oh, I know why, because I don't have to do that.
- 45:37SPEAKER_17: The KISS National Guard.
- 45:39SPEAKER_20: I only serve one weekend a month and two weeks ago.
- 45:52SPEAKER_20: I'm in the KISS Coast Guard.
- 45:58SPEAKER_20: Oh, that's perfect.
- 46:00SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 46:03SPEAKER_17: You're in the Kiss National Guard, man.
- 46:04SPEAKER_17: Alright, this one's from Revenge from 1992.
- 46:07SPEAKER_17: The song is called Spit, and here are the lyrics, or some of the lyrics.
- 46:11SPEAKER_17: Hot Damn and Lord Above.
- 46:13SPEAKER_17: I want a lot of women, a woman with a lot of love.
- 46:16SPEAKER_17: Well, thin is in, but it's plain to see.
- 46:19SPEAKER_17: It don't mean spit to me.
- 46:22SPEAKER_17: I need big hips, sweet lips, make a man out of me.
- 46:26SPEAKER_17: The bigger the cushion, the better the pushing, most definitely.
- 46:29SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 46:30SPEAKER_17: I don't even want to play that.
- 46:32SPEAKER_17: That is dumb.
- 46:34SPEAKER_17: D U M B dumb.
- 46:36SPEAKER_17: Okay, I have heard this song.
- 46:38SPEAKER_17: Uh I don't really pay attention to the lyrics, I guess.
- 46:40SPEAKER_17: Uh You make me rock hard from Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits, which came out in 88.
- 46:47SPEAKER_17: I can't I didn't realize it was that old.
- 46:49SPEAKER_17: Uh you make me sweat, you turn me round, you get me up, you never let me down, you make me hard, baby, all night.
- 46:55SPEAKER_17: Love's like a glove, and it fits just right.
- 46:58SPEAKER_20: Yes.
- 46:59SPEAKER_17: How did they get to be?
- 47:01SPEAKER_20: It's the show.
- 47:02SPEAKER_17: Oh man, it's it was the show.
- 47:04SPEAKER_20: Even Henry Rollins is like, Kiss puts on an amazing show.
- 47:09SPEAKER_20: You gotta listen to Henry Rollins talk about going to a Kiss concert.
- 47:13SPEAKER_20: One of the funniest stories that guy has.
- 47:16SPEAKER_17: Really?
- 47:17SPEAKER_20: It is hilarious.
- 47:18SPEAKER_17: Is that like on YouTube somewhere?
- 47:20SPEAKER_20: I bet it is.
- 47:21SPEAKER_20: I heard it on one of his spoken word albums.
- 47:24SPEAKER_20: It's gotta be on YouTube somewhere.
- 47:25SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 47:25SPEAKER_20: But it's it's awesome.
- 47:27SPEAKER_17: Uh from Lick It Up, 1983, the song fits like a glove.
- 47:31SPEAKER_17: Goes like this.
- 47:32SPEAKER_17: Cause when I go through her, it's just like a hot knife through butter.
- 47:37SPEAKER_17: Ooh yeah, baby baby.
- 47:39SPEAKER_17: Guess you win the prize.
- 47:40SPEAKER_17: Maybe baby, where the sun never shines.
- 47:46SPEAKER_17: And this is the commentary.
- 47:47SPEAKER_17: Gross, gross, gross, gross.
- 47:50SPEAKER_17: Get away from me, sit on the other sofa.
- 47:54SPEAKER_17: And that was without even hearing the live version where Simmons really stretches out every bit of the line with extra grunts and dramatic pauses.
- 48:01SPEAKER_17: Ah, yeah.
- 48:02unknown: Man.
- 48:03SPEAKER_18: So that was her reaction.
- 48:04SPEAKER_18: Gross, gross, gross, gross.
- 48:06SPEAKER_18: Gross, gross.
- 48:09SPEAKER_17: Uh let's see.
- 48:10SPEAKER_17: Um oh well, this one everybody knows because I think it was a hit.
- 48:15SPEAKER_17: Let's put the X in sex.
- 48:16SPEAKER_17: Yep.
- 48:17SPEAKER_17: Uh she said she knew my secrets, but I didn't have a clue.
- 48:20SPEAKER_17: Then I saw those black lace panties and I knew that it was you.
- 48:23SPEAKER_17: Baby, let's put the X in sex.
- 48:25SPEAKER_17: Love's like a muscle, and you make me want to flex.
- 48:27SPEAKER_17: Oh my gosh.
- 48:30SPEAKER_17: All right.
- 48:30SPEAKER_20: So he says it's amazing they hung out with Rush back in the early days.
- 48:34SPEAKER_20: You could tell Neil Peart's lyrical genius never rubbed off on these guys.
- 48:38SPEAKER_17: Oh my word.
- 48:40SPEAKER_17: Uh Animalize.
- 48:41SPEAKER_17: And I I I probably should preface the rest of this because I guess I didn't realize what I was reading.
- 48:48SPEAKER_17: Uh this is adults only.
- 48:50SPEAKER_17: Uh so plant your children.
- 48:51SPEAKER_17: Sorry, Blanchard Children.
- 48:52SPEAKER_17: Don't cover your ears.
- 48:54SPEAKER_17: Um, this is from Animalize in 1984.
- 48:58SPEAKER_18: I can't believe this is a lyric.
- 49:01SPEAKER_17: I'm just gonna read the one line.
- 49:02SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 49:03SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 49:03SPEAKER_17: Uh the song is called Burn Bitch Burn.
- 49:07SPEAKER_17: And the line is, Oh babe, I want to put my log in your fireplace.
- 49:11SPEAKER_20: Oh my freaking word, dude.
- 49:15SPEAKER_17: So bad.
- 49:17SPEAKER_17: Okay, wait, here's the commentary.
- 49:19SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 49:19SPEAKER_17: About 15 years ago, I accidentally touched my mother-in-law's butt.
- 49:22SPEAKER_17: Long story.
- 49:23SPEAKER_17: We don't need to get into it here.
- 49:25SPEAKER_17: It is deservedly the thing for which I am most often mocked at family gatherings.
- 49:29SPEAKER_17: But ever since she heard this, her all-time favorite dumb kiss lyric, the laughter and wisecracks that erupt from my wife whenever I go near any fireplace or fire pit is a close second.
- 49:38SPEAKER_17: Feeling horny, are we?
- 49:43SPEAKER_17: Respect.
- 49:44SPEAKER_17: Respect.
- 49:44SPEAKER_17: Um from the eighty-one album Music from the Elder, which Terrible album.
- 49:48SPEAKER_17: Terrible album.
- 49:49SPEAKER_17: Even Kiss says it's a terrible album.
- 49:51SPEAKER_17: The song is called Just a Boy.
- 49:53SPEAKER_17: I don't know if I want to read these.
- 49:55SPEAKER_17: I haven't read 'em yet.
- 49:56SPEAKER_17: I don't know.
- 49:56SPEAKER_17: Uh so so if you're a child and you're listening, cover your ears.
- 50:00SPEAKER_17: Earmuffs.
- 50:01SPEAKER_17: Uh who steers the ship through the stormy sea?
- 50:04SPEAKER_17: If hope is lost, then so are we.
- 50:06SPEAKER_17: While some eyes search for one to guide us, some are staring at me.
- 50:10SPEAKER_17: But I'm no hero, though I wish I could be, for I am just a boy, too young to be sailing.
- 50:16SPEAKER_17: I am just a boy, and my future's unveiling, and I'm so frightened of failing.
- 50:20SPEAKER_17: While some eyes search for one to guide us, some are staring at me.
- 50:26SPEAKER_17: Then he says, Never mind, I take it all back.
- 50:28SPEAKER_17: They should just sing about sex and nothing else.
- 50:34SPEAKER_17: I like this writer.
- 50:36SPEAKER_20: I'm about to say, we gotta keep finding articles by this guy.
- 50:39SPEAKER_17: Uh bonus mom vote.
- 50:41SPEAKER_17: The song is called I Just Wanna from Revenge.
- 50:44SPEAKER_17: Here's the lyric.
- 50:45SPEAKER_17: I don't want a romance, I just want to dance.
- 50:47SPEAKER_17: I just want two for, I just want two for, I just want to forget you.
- 50:54unknown: Yeah.
- 50:55SPEAKER_20: When you were saying two for, I thought, does he want a case of beer?
- 51:00SPEAKER_17: I really want to hear, because that's that's the last one.
- 51:02SPEAKER_17: I really want to hear uh all night.
- 51:04SPEAKER_17: Uh I'm hoping I can um click on that video again.
- 51:09SPEAKER_17: Maybe it'll work.
- 51:13SPEAKER_17: Maybe it's like I'm not.
- 51:15SPEAKER_20: YouTube's like, nah, you don't want to hear this.
- 51:16SPEAKER_20: I'm not playing the song for you.
- 51:18SPEAKER_20: Uh some guy at YouTube headquarters like, nah.
- 51:24SPEAKER_20: Nah.
- 51:25SPEAKER_20: Nah, bruh.
- 51:27SPEAKER_17: Oh, no.
- 51:28SPEAKER_17: So, this is what she's.
- 51:30SPEAKER_17: Apparently, there's a part where they could keep going, uh, over and over.
- 52:55SPEAKER_16: There it is.
- 52:56SPEAKER_16: There it is.
- 52:57SPEAKER_17: That's all I need to hear.
- 53:01SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 53:01SPEAKER_17: That's uh and their legacy lives on.
- 53:07SPEAKER_20: I'm telling you.
- 53:08SPEAKER_20: What is that song?
- 53:09SPEAKER_20: Da da da da.
- 53:11SPEAKER_20: I think that's isn't that uh Heaven's on Fire.
- 53:22SPEAKER_12: It is.
- 53:23SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 53:23SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 53:24SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 53:24SPEAKER_12: I wonder if that's around the same era.
- 53:27SPEAKER_12: Ripping yourselves off.
- 53:28SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 53:29SPEAKER_12: Good job, boys.
- 53:30SPEAKER_12: Right, exactly.
- 53:31SPEAKER_12: Oh man, I tell you.
- 53:32SPEAKER_17: Uh I can't believe that.
- 53:34SPEAKER_20: Um that take to write.
- 53:43SPEAKER_20: All night.
- 53:46SPEAKER_20: What do we put here?

- 55:02SPEAKER_20: Okay, I guess we're gonna pass.
- 55:07SPEAKER_21: Oh.

- 56:34SPEAKER_20: I should have saved it in the chat.
- 56:37SPEAKER_20: So, my bad.
- 56:38SPEAKER_20: So she did send it, but I didn't save it.
- 56:41SPEAKER_17: Oh.
- 56:41SPEAKER_20: So now it's gone.
- 56:42SPEAKER_17: Alright.
- 56:44SPEAKER_17: Well, that's okay.
- 56:46SPEAKER_17: I won anyway.
- 56:47SPEAKER_17: Yeah, we'll just say that.
- 56:49SPEAKER_18: I don't remember what even what the question was.
- 56:51SPEAKER_12: I don't remember if it was a question.
- 56:53SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 56:54SPEAKER_21: I don't.
- 56:56SPEAKER_12: Yeah, you won.
- 56:56SPEAKER_12: Yeah, okay.
- 56:58SPEAKER_12: Yay!
- 57:00SPEAKER_17: Good job.
- 57:01SPEAKER_17: And okay, so if I didn't win, um what do we call her again?

- 57:13SPEAKER_17: Yeah, so like, so I want you to say, okay, so O'Brien didn't win, uh, Cousin Larry won or Doug won, or you know.
- 57:20SPEAKER_17: But if I did win, put that in there too.
- 57:22SPEAKER_17: Because Doug lost your this week's this week's uh file.
- 57:26SPEAKER_17: Are you telling her that?
- 57:27SPEAKER_20: Yeah, that's right.
- 57:28SPEAKER_20: I started off with I'm an idiot.
- 57:30SPEAKER_12: So she'll know.
- 57:31SPEAKER_12: Maybe she oh, you know what she could do?
- 57:33SPEAKER_17: She could FaceTime you right now.
- 57:36SPEAKER_20: I doubt it.
- 57:37SPEAKER_20: Well, try it.
- 57:39SPEAKER_20: Nah, not while she's at work.
- 57:41SPEAKER_17: Oh, is she working?
- 57:42SPEAKER_17: That's right.
- 57:42SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 57:42SPEAKER_17: I forgot she was a security guard.
- 57:44SPEAKER_20: Yeah, she's a prison guard.
- 57:48SPEAKER_20: She's a sentry at the uh KISS National Guard base.
- 57:55SPEAKER_20: Gate guard?
- 57:59SPEAKER_20: I don't see you with your Paul Stanley makeup.
- 58:03SPEAKER_20: Denied entry.
- 58:05SPEAKER_17: Well, they're probably at the spaceman's funeral.
- 58:09SPEAKER_17: Whose whose funeral?
- 58:11SPEAKER_17: Ace really.
- 58:12SPEAKER_20: Oh, yeah.
- 58:12SPEAKER_20: Oh, is that today?
- 58:13SPEAKER_17: No, I don't know what it was.
- 58:14SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 58:14SPEAKER_20: I don't see.
- 58:16SPEAKER_20: Okay, well, we can go on to the current one.

- 58:32SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 58:33SPEAKER_12: So we'll do it then.
- 58:33SPEAKER_12: Sounds good.
- 58:34SPEAKER_20: Okay.
- 58:34SPEAKER_20: Uh best song to be carried off of any field or arena after a glorious victory.
- 58:40SPEAKER_20: So uh this is what the awesome and illustrious cousin Larry said.
- 58:46SPEAKER_20: Oh, hold on.
- 58:47SPEAKER_20: Sorry.
- 58:48SPEAKER_20: Okay, mixtape.
- 58:50SPEAKER_20: Well, we are the champions comes to mind right away.
- 58:52SPEAKER_20: But two cliche, I think.
- 58:55SPEAKER_20: You're the best from the Karate Kid is also kind of an obvious one, as this as is a second song by Queen, another one by Saddust.
- 59:02SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 59:02SPEAKER_20: I guess being big Rush fan like Doug, I would pick one little victory for my epic win.
- 59:08SPEAKER_21: Alright.
- 59:08SPEAKER_20: Honorable mention of Metallica's Seek and Destroy.
- 59:11SPEAKER_20: I would that's why I was mad.
- 59:12SPEAKER_20: I was like, man, I didn't even think of that one.
- 59:17SPEAKER_17: So you're going with one little victory?
- 59:19SPEAKER_17: One little victory, yeah.
- 59:20SPEAKER_17: I don't know if my internet is not just not working tonight or what is going on.
- 59:25SPEAKER_20: Uh hey, it's Phil.
- 59:29SPEAKER_20: From Wings of Pegasus.
- 59:31SPEAKER_17: Yes.
- 59:31SPEAKER_17: And Rick Beato with Michael McDonald.
- 59:34SPEAKER_17: Oh, even better.
- 59:36SPEAKER_17: Uh this is not working.
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: What is going on?
- 59:41SPEAKER_01: I am hooked up.
- 59:45SPEAKER_01: It's just enter.
- 59:47SPEAKER_20: Well, it's probably because we played KISS and now it just doesn't want to play.
- 59:49SPEAKER_20: Apparently.
- 59:50SPEAKER_17: It heard all those lyrics.
- 59:51SPEAKER_17: It's just like, what are you talking about?
- 59:53SPEAKER_17: Why are you playing such dumb things?
- 59:55SPEAKER_17: I I honestly dude, I'm gonna try to hit uh It's not even oh okay.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_17: Oh, there we go.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_17: Well it's it's refreshing, so let me try and dive it again.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_15: One little victory from Rush.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_17: Never mind Holy cow, is it not working?
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_17: Do I have to do that?
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it's all one of them.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_17: That's just so strange.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_12: Um maybe it's just YouTube, man.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_17: But if I hit refresh, it refreshes it.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_17: I don't get it.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_21: Maybe it is YouTube.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_01: It could be.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it could be that YouTube is acting up being dumb.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_17: There's no other place that I can find that, right?
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_21: Oh yeah.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_17: Just get like a like a clip or something.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_17: Yeah, just you know.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: Listen now.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_01: That's vapor trails.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_17: This is right here.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_17: Listen now.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_17: Oh, maybe this'll work.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_17: Oh, it's from Vapor Trails, right.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_17: There we go.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_17: So this is the one he's being taken off the he's going off the field after a victory.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_20: It's a little all over the place because this was the first album after Neil's wife and daughter passed away.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_16: Right.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_20: So the lyrics are a little depending on the song.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_20: So, but you can understand why.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_17: Um.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_17: I'm letting I'm letting this play a little bit because I want to change my answer because I really don't like my answer.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_17: But I can't think of anything.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_16: I have an idea for one, but I don't even like that one.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_17: Alright.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_17: So what is what is yours?
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_20: Mine was War from Vince DeCola from the Walkie Sound Camp.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_17: I have that, I think.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_17: Hold on, hold on.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_15: Um yeah.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_15: Let's do let's do this genre.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_15: And soundtrack.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_15: And that's an easy way.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_15: Oh, here we go.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_17: Yes.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_17: Oh, this is a great one.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_17: I love this one.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_20: It's not really a I don't think it per se a victory song, but I think it would be a bit like after I win something and this coming on, I'd be like, yeah.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_20: Oh yeah.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_17: This sounds like uh like an NVC from the 80s.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_20: Yeah, like the Super Bowl's gonna come on in like 10 minutes, right?
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_20: You know what I mean?
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_16: There's so much more to this piece of music.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_20: This is fantastic.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_16: It sounds thin great right now, but
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_17: Come on.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_17: Oh, it's a great one.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_20: I don't know why.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_20: I know it's from the Rocky movies, but the only movie I'm that's coming to mind is that uh movie he was in, Victory.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_20: Oh, that's a great movie.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_20: It's an awesome movie.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_20: The soccer soccer one in World War II, yeah.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_20: I'm always I don't know why I'm thinking about that movie.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_16: But I I guess because of the name Victory and Pele in it.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_16: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_16: It's an awesome movie.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_16: Michael Cain.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_16: I own it actually.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_16: I own it on DVD.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_16: Yeah, I do too.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_16: It's a fantastic movie.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_17: Uh here's my choice.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_00: What is happening?
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_05: Whatever you want.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_05: Whatever you need.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_01: You with me?

- 1:08:26SPEAKER_17: No.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_17: Uh, because I don't like my pick.

- 1:09:14SPEAKER_20: Did I pick that?
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_17: I don't know.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_17: Who picked that?
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_20: Who picked thriller?
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_20: What was the question?
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_20: What was the question?
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_12: So stupid.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_17: We are in the National Guard.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_20: You're the commander and I'm the sergeant major.

- 1:10:19SPEAKER_17: Um and I don't know why.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_17: Okay.

- 1:12:10SPEAKER_17: Right?
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_17: You would think.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_20: Oh, this was the dance one, the flash mob one.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_20: Oh.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_20: That's what it was.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_20: And what and who picked what?
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_20: I think it was Cousin Larry picked thriller.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_17: Oh, that's right, because I did Bohemian Rhapsody.

- 1:12:49SPEAKER_17: Jesus.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_17: We just played it.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_17: We just played it.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_17: What was it?
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_17: Oh, uh Rush, One Little Victory.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_17: And yours was War by Vince DeCola.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_17: Right.

- 1:13:02SPEAKER_20: Yes.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_20: Okay.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_20: Okay.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_20: All right.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_20: Now we have it recorded for posterity.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_20: You know, this is actually it's a good thing we do a podcast because now we can talk about stuff, and if we forget, we'll just go play the podcast.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_20: Oh yeah, that's what I said.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_20: Exactly.
- 1:13:21SPEAKER_20: We should just put random stuff in there.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_20: Get milk.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_20: Right.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_20: I need to go renew my license.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_20: Hey Doug, go fill up your car with gas.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_17: I'm just messing around.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_17: You know what I feel like right now though is uh uh um I feel like one of the Mackenzie brothers.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_17: If you know at If you don't know what we're talking about, you have to watch Strange Brew.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_17: Strange Brew.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_17: Wait.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_17: Wait, so I don't know how it goes.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_18: Something like that.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_17: Yeah, that's pretty close.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_17: Anyway, um that's it.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_17: We're gonna uh we're gonna take a break.
- 1:14:33SPEAKER_17: We'll come back and we'll go climb the wall tunes.

- 1:15:53SPEAKER_17: Can't even remember who we are.
- 1:15:55SPEAKER_17: Yeah, kinda.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_17: Let's uh start the music.
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_17: From the Price is Right, which we talked about earlier.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_17: Exactly.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_17: So yeah, what was the name of the game that it was just uh Hilt Mountain Climber?
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_17: Something like that, Mountain Climber.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_17: Yeah, anyway.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_17: Um, but before we uh as I take off my headphones and I pick from the Wall of Tunes, Doug's gonna read from the Beatles book.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_20: Great.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_20: Alright, go ahead.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_20: Uh, so from the revolver album.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_20: Here, there, and everywhere.
- 1:16:23SPEAKER_17: Paul McCartney's favorite Beatles song, by the way.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_17: It's an awesome song.
- 1:16:26SPEAKER_20: With things starting to look up again in his romance with Jane Asher.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_20: Oh, here we go again.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_20: Um Paul wrote what is widely regarded as his greatest love song.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_20: True.
- 1:16:37SPEAKER_20: True story.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_20: Wanting to work with a structural challenge, he constructed each verse of the song around the three adverbs in the title.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_20: When he recorded, he imagined the light voice of Marianne Faithful.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_20: Paul wrote here, there, and everywhere in June 1966 while sitting by John's outdoor pool.
- 1:16:57SPEAKER_20: He had heard the Beach Boy's newly released Pet Sounds, which impressed him with its musical complexity and inventive vocal arrangements.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_20: Paul was particularly taken with the shimmering quality of God only knows and wanted something which capper captured the same mood.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_20: Interesting, yeah.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_10: Make a stay of the year.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_10: Changing my life with the way of the sound they melody is just fantastic.
- 1:17:46SPEAKER_17: Now it doesn't compare to God only knows, I'm sorry.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_12: It doesn't.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_12: You're saying God only knows is better?
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_12: Yes, I do.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_10: But she doesn't know she's there.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_17: But I think it is a close second.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_17: Well, I'm I'm I'm gonna say that I'm gonna be bold here.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_20: Well, this is simpler than God only knows.
- 1:18:12SPEAKER_17: No question.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_17: No, but what I was gonna say is I think the Beatles output is more impressive.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_20: Well, I mean musically.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_17: Musically creative and inventiveness from the beginning to the end is much more impressive than the Beach Boys.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_17: I think so too.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_17: You know, the Beach Boys harmonies were amazing.
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_17: No.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_20: But I mean, if you listen to all the albums before Pet Sounds, you're like, they all kind of sound the same.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_17: You know.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_17: Uh Brian Wilson is a genius.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_17: Or was a genius for sure.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_17: Absolutely.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_17: Um I don't think anybody would argue with that.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_17: No.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_20: Only idiots would.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_17: Or, you know.
- 1:19:01SPEAKER_17: For us.
- 1:19:01SPEAKER_17: People that are in the KISS National Guard.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_17: KISS National Guard.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_17: Alright, so there you have it.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_17: Uh, let's do the Wall of Tunes.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_17: I have an album.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_17: I have a guess.
- 1:19:13SPEAKER_17: So uh let the guessing begin.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_17: It's ABBA! No, we've already done ABBA, haven't we?
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_12: No, we've never actually done ABBA.
- 1:19:19SPEAKER_12: Are you sure?
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_12: Positive.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_17: I thought I did that one time just to mess with me?
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_20: You might have, but I don't think so.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_20: I have to check the name.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_20: Okay, is it a band?
- 1:19:30SPEAKER_17: It is a band.
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_20: Rock band?
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_20: Height of popularity.
- 1:19:36SPEAKER_17: I'm gonna say the 80s.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_20: Okay.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_20: Like hard rock.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_20: No.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_20: Hard rock.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_17: New wave rock.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_20: New wave rock.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_20: The cars.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_17: I should have said new wave rock.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_17: That was easy.
- 1:19:52SPEAKER_17: Have we done this?
- 1:19:53SPEAKER_17: I don't think I don't think we've ever done the cars.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_17: The car's greatest hits.
- 1:19:57SPEAKER_17: I will tell you that we did a couple car songs recently.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_17: It was fun.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_17: It was fun.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_17: It was fun.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_17: Elliot Easton, the guitar player, is highly underrated.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_17: Because some of those solos are just unbelievable.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_17: I thought we had we did.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_17: I thought we were running.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_17: Let's do this.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_17: This is the one of the ones that we had done.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_10: I don't mind coming.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_17: Uh, and these guys, it was announced recently, they're talking about doing the same thing that Soundgarden is doing.
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_17: They found some Rick Ocasich music.
- 1:21:15SPEAKER_17: And they're going to get together and put out some new cars music.
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_17: Really?
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_17: Yeah, with Rick Ocasich's voice.
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_20: That'd be cool.
- 1:21:23SPEAKER_20: Uh no, this is the first time we've done the cars.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_20: Interesting.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_13: I don't mind you coming here.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_10: I have a Charlie Morse.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_04: Wasting all my time.
- 1:21:40SPEAKER_17: We did this a couple weeks ago.
- 1:21:42SPEAKER_17: Sarah nailed that freaking Oh yeah, it was unreal.
- 1:21:44SPEAKER_17: Yeah, it was awesome.
- 1:21:45SPEAKER_17: Uh she all we also did this one.
- 1:21:47SPEAKER_17: Uh this one.
- 1:21:50SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah.
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_17: She nailed this too.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_20: She nailed this one.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_17: But you forget, you forget how many hit songs the cars had.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_17: This one since you're gone.
- 1:22:11SPEAKER_17: Charlie Horse.
- 1:22:18SPEAKER_17: You remember this song, right?
- 1:22:19SPEAKER_20: Oh, I I haven't heard this song in forever.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_12: What do you do for a Charlie horse?
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_20: Uh suffer in silence.
- 1:22:58SPEAKER_15: Ow.
- 1:22:59SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 1:23:00SPEAKER_20: Socks, man.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_15: Uh let's see.
- 1:23:04SPEAKER_17: Good times roll.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_05: Boom.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_05: Boom.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_05: Let the good times roll.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_05: Let the knock you a crow.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_05: Let a good time to roll.
- 1:23:24SPEAKER_05: Let the cube a crow.
- 1:23:31SPEAKER_17: The late great Benjamin Orr on vocals.
- 1:23:47SPEAKER_17: Now there are admittedly a couple songs on here that I don't remember.
- 1:23:50SPEAKER_20: Well, every time I hear this song, I was engaged with that comedian who was misheard lyrics.
- 1:23:56SPEAKER_20: And this was one of them who's like, the cards are talking about pork pies.
- 1:24:02SPEAKER_20: Pork pies?
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_20: Pork pies.
- 1:24:05SPEAKER_20: At the end of the of the chorus.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_17: I'm trying to think of the end of the chorus now.
- 1:24:11SPEAKER_17: Hello.
- 1:24:35SPEAKER_17: Alright, so there's this one.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_17: Tonight she comes.
- 1:24:37SPEAKER_17: We know this one.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_17: Such a great song.
- 1:24:39SPEAKER_17: All of these are great.
- 1:24:40SPEAKER_17: All so good.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_17: Right, you know that one.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_17: My best friend's girl, you know this one.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_17: This is such a good song.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_20: We should do this one.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_17: Okay, I'm gonna change it.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_17: Let's go.
- 1:25:05SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_16: Right?
- 1:25:12SPEAKER_16: Very recognizable.
- 1:25:13SPEAKER_16: Yep.
- 1:25:13SPEAKER_16: You have this one.
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_16: Shake it up.
- 1:25:22SPEAKER_17: And then you have this one.
- 1:25:26SPEAKER_17: I love this, right?
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_17: I love this song.
- 1:25:28SPEAKER_17: This is the one where he's walking on water on the on the swimming pool.
- 1:25:31SPEAKER_17: Magic.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_17: I'm gonna play you.
- 1:25:36SPEAKER_17: Oh, I love this song.
- 1:25:38SPEAKER_16: This brings back memories.
- 1:25:40SPEAKER_17: Heck yeah.
- 1:25:43SPEAKER_16: Okay, I don't know that I know this song.
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_20: Summer.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_17: It's called I'm Not the One.
- 1:25:51SPEAKER_20: I'm gonna miss you, girl.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_17: Do you know this song?
- 1:25:56SPEAKER_17: I don't know this one.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_17: I don't either.
- 1:25:58SPEAKER_17: What about Heartbeat City?
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_20: I don't think I know this one.
- 1:26:08SPEAKER_17: I don't think I do either.
