- 0:18Speaker 1: has never been easier. Book now at aerlingus.com. Here we
- 0:22Speaker 1: go Steelers!
- 0:32Speaker 2: Hey folks, welcome into the Irish Series podcast presented by
- 0:35Speaker 2: Aer Lingus. We are here deep, deep somewhere, very, very
- 0:38Speaker 2: close to the original location of the Rooney family. A
- 0:42Speaker 2: new face on the podcast. If you're watching and if
- 0:44Speaker 2: you're listening, you're very, very welcome. We're presented by Aer Lingus.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Mark McGrath is joining us. Thanks for having me.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Nice to see everyone.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Thank you for joining us after a busy week one weekend.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I'm saying that because NFL's back. It's back, which is,
- 0:58Speaker 2: which is phenomenally great, right? But You know, and a
- 1:01Speaker 2: lot of people listening to this know how difficult that
- 1:04Speaker 2: first weekend is. We had a game on Wednesday night, kick-off.
- 1:07Speaker 2: We had the Melbourne game. And then we had late night,
- 1:09Speaker 2: Sunday night. And we're actually talking on the Monday after
- 1:11Speaker 2: the Steelers-Falcons game, which we'll talk about in a wee second.
- 1:13Speaker 2: How tired are you right now?
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm sleepy. Thank you very much for the coffee. I'm
- 1:18Speaker 3: about four coffees in and it's whatever it is, one
- 1:21Speaker 3: o'clock in the afternoon, which is too many coffees. But look,
- 1:25Speaker 3: I've missed it. You kind of forget that you're going
- 1:27Speaker 3: to feel tired, but I'm feeling energised. Looking forward to
- 1:30Speaker 3: chatting about it. The energy that comes with the sport
- 1:32Speaker 3: kind of helps keep you awake. Although saying that, getting
- 1:36Speaker 3: out with two young kids, waking me up at 7
- 1:38Speaker 3: o'clock this morning, it was tough sledding.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Thank God. When I look at the schedule this year,
- 1:43Speaker 2: like the amount of Steelers games that are at 6
- 1:44Speaker 2: o'clock in the evening is a godsend. The Week 2
- 1:48Speaker 2: game is against the Patriots. It's on The Zone and
- 1:50Speaker 2: it's also on Sky Sports Football. We'll talk about that
- 1:52Speaker 2: later on in the podcast. Before we talk about the Steelers,
- 1:55Speaker 2: obviously Steelers got a big win in Week 1 against
- 1:57Speaker 2: the Falcons and we will talk about that, but You're
- 1:59Speaker 2: obviously new in here, so some people will know who
- 2:02Speaker 2: you are from the domestic side of the game and
- 2:05Speaker 2: also from seeing what you've done to grow the game,
- 2:08Speaker 2: really across the Isle of Arran as well. But tell
- 2:10Speaker 2: us a wee bit about yourself and more importantly for
- 2:12Speaker 2: this podcast and talking about different players and stuff, you've
- 2:15Speaker 2: actually played the game, which is great as well.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yes, played the game twice. domestically in Ireland. I'm the
- 2:24Speaker 3: GM of the Belfast Trojans, which is a local American
- 2:26Speaker 3: football team based here in Belfast. This is our 20th year,
- 2:29Speaker 3: 20th anniversary. So I'd say all the old guys in
- 2:34Speaker 3: and around the league would know me as I've been
- 2:35Speaker 3: playing for 22 years now. We kind of all know
- 2:39Speaker 3: each other. Somehow the body is still kidding out there,
- 2:42Speaker 3: but it's very different than what we're obviously going to
- 2:45Speaker 3: talk about. But it's a lot of fun. And again,
- 2:47Speaker 3: that energy that the sport brings is why I fell
- 2:50Speaker 3: in love with it. And the energy you see every
- 2:52Speaker 3: Sunday and even the college football and the crowds and
- 2:54Speaker 3: the NFL, how much buy-in it gets is just fantastic.
- 2:59Speaker 2: You actually had the Steelers. Steelers came up a couple
- 3:02Speaker 2: of times now to Dermot Park where the Trojans play.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And they've held a number of different camps. When that
- 3:08Speaker 2: happened the first time, because whenever that happened the first time,
- 3:10Speaker 2: I'm not saying it was the first time ever in Ireland,
- 3:12Speaker 2: but it was really the first time ever, Mark, at
- 3:15Speaker 2: that scale where it came up. I think I was
- 3:17Speaker 2: out there. That was really, really cool. And have you
- 3:19Speaker 2: seen it grow since then? I guess as well as
- 3:20Speaker 2: the question.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Like the, the, the Steelers, the Rooney family have been phenomenal. Um, we,
- 3:25Speaker 3: we had, um, the, the grandfather, Dan's grandfather's actually been
- 3:29Speaker 3: to our club and spoke there when he was doing
- 3:31Speaker 3: his role over here in Ireland.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Um, awesome. I didn't know that. That was 15 years ago.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Uh, yes.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah. He came in and spoke at one of our
- 3:38Speaker 3: rugby lunches, pre rugby lunches. And then I had to
- 3:41Speaker 3: sit and watch a very slow, boring game of rugby. Um,
- 3:44Speaker 3: But the energy they're bringing into the sport has been incredible. Yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 3: the first sort of camp they did, we had 80
- 3:52Speaker 3: to 100 kids. We were very lucky with the sunshine,
- 3:55Speaker 3: but out on the main pitch at Harlequins, we might
- 3:58Speaker 3: have put our big inflatable ball up with the big
- 4:01Speaker 3: Trojan T on it, which was maybe a bit faux pas,
- 4:03Speaker 3: but really, really good day. And they're definitely from grassroots.
- 4:08Speaker 3: It's exploding because of the energy they're bringing into it
- 4:10Speaker 3: and putting into it, along with the NFL flag, guys.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Over in the mainland. It's been really good.
- 4:16Speaker 2: When Mr Rooney was in the Trojans. All those years ago.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Did you think. 15 or so years on. That there
- 4:23Speaker 2: would have been a game in Ireland. The Steelers would
- 4:25Speaker 2: have played in it. But more so as well. You
- 4:27Speaker 2: sort of just mentioned it there now. You know. Did
- 4:29Speaker 2: you think that the game would be where it is today.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I guess.
- 4:32Speaker 2: At that point.
- 4:33Speaker 3: No.
- 4:34Speaker 5: I mean.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I always heard about how big it was in the 80s.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You know.
- 4:37Speaker 3: It was a massive thing in the 80s and 90s.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And then.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Obviously the NFL Europe and stuff. Was all going on.
- 4:42Speaker 2: But then.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Before we were of an age to actually pay attention
- 4:46Speaker 3: to it or allowed to stay up that late, it
- 4:47Speaker 3: kind of really petered off. So the fact that we're
- 4:50Speaker 3: kind of almost, for us, this is the first resurgence
- 4:53Speaker 3: of it. It's on TV so much, it's so accessible now,
- 4:57Speaker 3: and there's so much interest. You took that Dublin game
- 5:01Speaker 3: last year, sold at Croke Park. Who would have ever
- 5:04Speaker 3: thought American football in Ireland would have been that popular
- 5:07Speaker 3: and have that many people want to engage? And it
- 5:10Speaker 3: wasn't just what was in there. The whole city of
- 5:12Speaker 3: Dublin was packed.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It was great. And then the Steelers obviously came up
- 5:16Speaker 2: north as well that week as well, which is great.
- 5:18Speaker 2: We are going to maybe try and bounce in a
- 5:20Speaker 2: wee bit about that. Just finally, before we talk about
- 5:22Speaker 2: the game, what's your position when you play football?
- 5:27Speaker 3: My position in the club? General manager, and that's probably
- 5:30Speaker 3: the best position for me.
- 5:31Speaker 2: When you were on the field, what was your position?
- 5:34Speaker 3: As a younger man, I did a wee bit of fullback.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Through my career, I've done sort of a centre guard
- 5:40Speaker 3: on my offensive line in my little short spell into
- 5:44Speaker 3: the wolfhounds in the national thing i was a defensive
- 5:47Speaker 3: tackle so do you watch the game primarily from watching
- 5:51Speaker 3: the big men i like i like watching both but
- 5:54Speaker 3: i'm really looking just for the aggression i like the
- 5:57Speaker 3: the two lines of the aggression they come with seeing
- 5:59Speaker 3: the dominance that comes because there's some monsters and and
- 6:03Speaker 3: the steelers defense has.
- 6:04Speaker 2: A lot of them well this is the thing like
- 6:06Speaker 2: you know one of the things that people talked about
- 6:08Speaker 2: in week one sunday was primarily Like, is it the
- 6:11Speaker 2: highest ever? Or the highest is 1991 in terms of
- 6:14Speaker 2: points scored. But some of the defensive performance across the
- 6:16Speaker 2: league were phenomenal. But really, the Steelers stood out. 20-13
- 6:21Speaker 2: victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. A lot
- 6:24Speaker 2: of different variables come into it. Obviously, the first game
- 6:26Speaker 2: with Coach McCarthy coming in. A new era for him.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I know the pre-seasons are. I know he had his
- 6:30Speaker 2: family there, Week 1 of pre-season. But this is, for
- 6:33Speaker 2: a man who's from the state, who's from the area,
- 6:36Speaker 2: a big, big deal for him. And then, coupled on
- 6:38Speaker 2: the fact that this was... a true gritty Steelers performance?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Because I was texting you in the fourth quarter going,
- 6:45Speaker 2: oh man, let's go, come on, let's go.
- 6:47Speaker 3: We were chatting backwards and forwards and I mean, that
- 6:50Speaker 3: defense came out and was exactly what you would hope
- 6:52Speaker 3: it would be. You know, fast, aggressive. I was kind
- 6:56Speaker 3: of thinking that old, you know, Blitzburg is coming back
- 6:58Speaker 3: to Pittsburgh. But they were getting pressure with just their line, dude.
- 7:01Speaker 3: It was really, really impressive.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Like, if you say about how impressive it was, I
- 7:08Speaker 2: think the key for a lot of teams in the
- 7:10Speaker 2: first few weeks is It is going to take a
- 7:11Speaker 2: wee bit of time for the offense to gel on
- 7:13Speaker 2: and keep going. But on that defensive side, the guys
- 7:16Speaker 2: came in yesterday and made it look as if it
- 7:19Speaker 2: was just easy in one sense. TJ Watt, two sacks,
- 7:21Speaker 2: three tackles for loss.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Didn't he explode in that second half?
- 7:25Speaker 2: But the explosion, Mark. It's easy to have it written
- 7:29Speaker 2: down here, 35 yard pick six, right? For him, his size...
- 7:34Speaker 2: where he had that ball when he was down on
- 7:36Speaker 2: the ground, for him to get there to the end,
- 7:38Speaker 2: talk to us about that.
- 7:39Speaker 3: The other big guys were in there real fast, making
- 7:41Speaker 3: sure nobody got near him, but that was, but before
- 7:45Speaker 3: you even get into the second half, you look at
- 7:48Speaker 3: Highsmith's nine-yard sack, gets the offense to short field, and
- 7:51Speaker 3: then they punish with big Friar Muth right in the
- 7:54Speaker 3: back there, which is lovely to see, and I think
- 7:56Speaker 3: Friar Muth's, you know, maybe going to be working himself
- 7:59Speaker 3: to that number two receivers, I think he's going to
- 8:00Speaker 3: get a lot of looks this year, and Big boy.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Take their offense in general before we go into how
- 8:06Speaker 3: great the defense was. They're enormous.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Big, big boys. Highsmith, you mentioned that one play. Also,
- 8:12Speaker 2: fourth quarter, third down, dagger. When Atlanta was like, let's
- 8:16Speaker 2: be clear. We're going into that at different times in
- 8:19Speaker 2: the game. The Falcons, you have to give credit to
- 8:22Speaker 2: them in the fact of.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah, they hung in.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I did a podcast with Missy Matthews last week from SNR.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And at the time, I asked Missy about Tua coming in.
- 8:30Speaker 2: One of the biggest things that changed in the week
- 8:32Speaker 2: was Tua's not playing. And Atlanta put it up. Atlanta,
- 8:37Speaker 2: you have to give it to them. To come into
- 8:39Speaker 2: Pittsburgh week one is not easy any time. But they
- 8:41Speaker 2: had the belief. But Highsmith's play in that fourth quarter
- 8:44Speaker 2: when they were still in the hunt was phenomenal. And
- 8:46Speaker 2: his skill throughout it was.
- 8:50Speaker 3: He's fantastic. They're all phenomenal athletes when they get to
- 8:54Speaker 3: that level. The fact that guys are standing out when
- 8:56Speaker 3: surrounded by other phenomenal athletes just really goes to just
- 9:00Speaker 3: I mean, scheming stuff comes into it. I'm not taking
- 9:01Speaker 3: away from the coaches and how fantastic they are, but
- 9:04Speaker 3: some of those guys are just absolute freaks.
- 9:06Speaker 2: In the best way. New defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham, has
- 9:11Speaker 2: come in. And you can see, look, it's too early
- 9:14Speaker 2: to say this, but you can see a wee bit
- 9:16Speaker 2: of a jump there on that defense.
- 9:17Speaker 3: That's why I was expecting a lot more blitzes, a
- 9:19Speaker 3: lot more pressure. But that's not really what I, maybe
- 9:22Speaker 3: they're going to see if they needed.
- 9:24Speaker 4: It or not.
- 9:25Speaker 3: But maybe they just wanted to help out that new
- 9:27Speaker 3: secondary that's there, but they didn't seem to look like
- 9:29Speaker 3: they needed a lot of help coming in. They were
- 9:32Speaker 3: hitting hard themselves.
- 9:35Speaker 2: One of the more impressive things as well for me
- 9:37Speaker 2: was seeing how veterans, and there's a lot of veterans
- 9:40Speaker 2: on this team, and Cam Hayward's one of them.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Big tips. I think he's number one, 33, 34 passes tipped.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Tipped three batted balls at the line. Batted balls. Three disruption, man.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I mean, that is just.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Do you know who's number two and that's that go
- 9:55Speaker 3: for it tj what tv in the whole nfl.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Tj what if he was to keep that up over
- 10:01Speaker 2: the next five to ten weeks no no pressure tj
- 10:04Speaker 2: i start googling when was the last time we had
- 10:07Speaker 2: a defensive mvp but start as you mean to go
- 10:11Speaker 2: on like we will talk about the offense in a
- 10:13Speaker 2: wee second here but certainly from a defensive point of
- 10:16Speaker 2: view The lads showed up, showed out. And like I
- 10:19Speaker 2: haven't even mentioned, Jaquan Brisker, his first interception that you
- 10:24Speaker 2: mentioned as well, set a primary score in that game.
- 10:27Speaker 2: You know, this is a guy that does that in
- 10:32Speaker 2: that moment and is making these big, big plays. Alex
- 10:36Speaker 2: Heisman had the two sacks, as we said. Peyton Wilson
- 10:38Speaker 2: had a team-high tackle total and two tackles for loss
- 10:42Speaker 2: as well on the day.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Didn't Ramsey have a couple of big hits to the
- 10:46Speaker 3: ball pop out?
- 10:47Speaker 2: I think it popped out once.
- 10:49Speaker 3: He's on his knee and just launched himself into that elbow.
- 10:53Speaker 2: How impressive have you been with him since he went
- 10:54Speaker 2: to the theaters?
- 10:55Speaker 3: This is always a thing. Are they just collecting big names?
- 10:58Speaker 3: Or do these guys still have it? They come out
- 11:00Speaker 3: this season and it's not just big names. They're still
- 11:03Speaker 3: hungry and they're still balling. You see a lot of
- 11:05Speaker 3: the video and the media stuff around winning the Super Bowl,
- 11:10Speaker 3: bringing it back to Pittsburgh, which would be absolutely fantastic.
- 11:13Speaker 3: But I think those guys are just hungry in their
- 11:14Speaker 3: own right to just keep improving and just absolute competitors.
- 11:18Speaker 2: In a world where people talk so much about defence
- 11:21Speaker 2: winning championships, and granted, we are talking days, hours after
- 11:25Speaker 2: week one is concluded here, Mark. People talked all off-season
- 11:28Speaker 2: about the Seahawks and what they'd done so special last year.
- 11:31Speaker 2: And they were phenomenal. Hell, they won a Lombardi trophy.
- 11:34Speaker 2: A very, very good start for this defence. And there's
- 11:36Speaker 2: really nothing that we can pick out here in this
- 11:37Speaker 2: podcast to say.
- 11:38Speaker 3: That Look, both defenses were really, really on point. I mean, really,
- 11:44Speaker 3: really hard defensive battle, good games, but the Steelers' defense
- 11:47Speaker 3: was just special. My experience in the sport, which is
- 11:51Speaker 3: obviously a complete nothing level, but defense is always easier
- 11:55Speaker 3: to put together than offense. You've got McCarthy and New
- 11:58Speaker 3: holding the ship. You've got new offense, defense coordinators, coaching
- 12:01Speaker 3: players all coming together. Offense, in my experience and from
- 12:06Speaker 3: anything I've watched, always takes longer to come together and
- 12:09Speaker 3: gel than a defense does. The defense can feed on
- 12:12Speaker 3: the energy and the aggression can get you a long,
- 12:15Speaker 3: a long way there. But I think that, that Steelers
- 12:17Speaker 3: offense also has some real special athletes. I'm going to be,
- 12:21Speaker 3: and they're enormous. I think they're just Steelers football. They're
- 12:23Speaker 3: going to grind teams. And one of my top plays
- 12:26Speaker 3: is obviously big Washington's stiff one into the dirt. I
- 12:30Speaker 3: was pumped.
- 12:31Speaker 2: This is where we need on the screen here to
- 12:32Speaker 2: go through and go. Yes, yes, yes.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Can we put that in?
- 12:35Speaker 2: We will find a way over the next few weeks
- 12:36Speaker 2: to do out there. Appreciate you joining me on the
- 12:38Speaker 2: podcast this week. We're going to look a wee bit
- 12:41Speaker 2: at the offense, and then we're going to look ahead
- 12:42Speaker 2: to the Patriots game, which is coming up on Sunday
- 12:45Speaker 2: in week two. In a few moments, we're going to
- 12:47Speaker 2: hear from Coach McCarthy first here and hear his thoughts
- 12:50Speaker 2: from the week one victory over the Falcons on the
- 12:52Speaker 2: Irish Studios podcast presented by Erlingus.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Great feeling, without a doubt. I'm glad it's by us.
- 13:00Speaker 4: It was emotional all day today. Well, I think just
- 13:04Speaker 4: like anything, we're about defense first. I mean, we made
- 13:06Speaker 4: that clear. We started this journey and I think it
- 13:09Speaker 4: was clearly evident why today, you know, you know, it's
- 13:12Speaker 4: clearly takes all three phases. And, but I thought, you know,
- 13:17Speaker 4: our defense really set the tone, you know, just the
- 13:19Speaker 4: only points that really given up was, you know, we
- 13:22Speaker 4: gave them one field position and created those, those scenarios. So, and,
- 13:26Speaker 4: and obviously TJ's play was just, you know, that's a highlight,
- 13:30Speaker 4: you know, that's a highlight play. You'll be watching the
- 13:31Speaker 4: rest of your life. So, and I thought those guys really,
- 13:35Speaker 4: really just, you know, kept the thermostat where it needed
- 13:38Speaker 4: to be. So we were, you know, obviously in a
- 13:41Speaker 4: one score lead plus most of the game. But, you know, offensively,
- 13:46Speaker 4: it was a little harky jerky, you know, starting with me.
- 13:49Speaker 4: So it's, you know, getting into a flow was just
- 13:54Speaker 4: a bit challenging. Third down was the thing that kind
- 13:56Speaker 4: of stood out to me where we got to, you know,
- 13:58Speaker 4: maybe A, get more favorable and B, you know, convert those. But,
- 14:02Speaker 4: you know, I love the way they battled back. We
- 14:04Speaker 4: had some, boy, we had some tough flags. you know,
- 14:07Speaker 4: against us and that's football, that's September football. So we
- 14:10Speaker 4: clearly have a lot to correct tomorrow. It's a good
- 14:14Speaker 4: place to be, you know, after your first win and
- 14:17Speaker 4: know that you have room for improvement. You know, special teams,
- 14:21Speaker 4: we had the, you know, the communication breakdown there on
- 14:25Speaker 4: the resetting the clock. And then, you know, when you
- 14:28Speaker 4: get in under, I think it's six seconds where we're
- 14:30Speaker 4: getting into a rhythm, you know, With our operation, we
- 14:34Speaker 4: were under six, and then when they reset the clock,
- 14:36Speaker 4: and then there was some verbal communication. So glad we're
- 14:40Speaker 4: in a position where we win a game, and we
- 14:42Speaker 4: can learn from these experiences we have, and that's the
- 14:46Speaker 4: game of football. But, you know, it's a good start.
- 14:51Speaker 4: And most importantly, we got our first home win. You
- 14:53Speaker 4: got to win your home games, as we all know,
- 14:55Speaker 4: in this league.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Mike, you mentioned the TJ play.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Can you take us through watching it and the impact
- 15:01Speaker 2: that it had on this game?
- 15:02Speaker 4: Well, obviously a huge play. I mean, the anticipation of it,
- 15:05Speaker 4: and frankly, great players make great plays all the time.
- 15:09Speaker 4: You see that play in practice. You see that play
- 15:14Speaker 4: on the cut-ups. I remember watching Will Howard when I
- 15:16Speaker 4: first got Howard hired, and they showed me some practice tape,
- 15:25Speaker 4: and TJ makes the same play. He goes, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 4: he jumps up and Catches the ball. I don't know
- 15:30Speaker 4: why they put that on Will's tape to show me
- 15:33Speaker 4: to take a look at him. But, you know, you
- 15:36Speaker 4: see him make those plays all the time. But not
- 15:39Speaker 4: only did he make the play, but the ability to
- 15:42Speaker 4: get up and finish it was incredible. It was a
- 15:45Speaker 4: great finish by the whole defense and the momentum swing
- 15:50Speaker 4: that came with that. That was obviously huge. That was
- 15:52Speaker 4: clearly the biggest play in the game.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Coach McCarthy with his thoughts on the matchup in week one.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Obviously a win for the Cedars. A really important win
- 15:59Speaker 2: as well. Actually, before we talk about the offence, Mark,
- 16:03Speaker 2: and thanks again for joining me, Mark. Like, AFC North
- 16:06Speaker 2: will not mention the Cleveland Browns and how they performed
- 16:09Speaker 2: in Jacksonville. But I will say one thing. And it's
- 16:12Speaker 2: important to mention this for fans across Ireland listening to
- 16:14Speaker 2: this and beyond. You're all very welcome. Rebens and Bengals
- 16:18Speaker 2: were very, very impressive. So to get that win against
- 16:20Speaker 2: the Falcons was very important as well.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Weren't they just? And even I'm looking forward to having
- 16:26Speaker 3: given those games enough attention other than the highlights and
- 16:28Speaker 3: things because we only have so many hours and we're
- 16:31Speaker 3: five hours past.
- 16:32Speaker 2: The last game. You've been locked in on the Steelers is.
- 16:33Speaker 3: What you're saying? Yeah, the Steelers when they're on and
- 16:36Speaker 3: then I do kind of go to the red zone
- 16:39Speaker 3: but you don't really get a proper feel for the
- 16:41Speaker 3: ebb and flow of the games.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I do both. I watched them I had a split screen,
- 16:45Speaker 2: I had the Steelers, and I had Reds all last night.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So you're right.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Your attention span is obviously better than mine. That's why
- 16:50Speaker 3: my wife always says I can't do more than one
- 16:51Speaker 3: thing at once.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Well, I can't, and I'm still trying to manage. I
- 16:56Speaker 2: guess it's one thing to mention, Bengals' defense was very,
- 17:00Speaker 2: very impressive against the Bucs in the week that the
- 17:03Speaker 2: Bucs had at Baker Mayfield, and the Ravens just put points.
- 17:06Speaker 3: On the board. Here he still goes. What is he,
- 17:09Speaker 3: 32 now? We're talking about the freak athletes that the
- 17:14Speaker 3: Steelers have on defense and the big boys they have
- 17:16Speaker 3: on offense. And you've got a guy like Henry just
- 17:18Speaker 3: still producing.
- 17:19Speaker 2: But the good thing for us, though, is you look
- 17:22Speaker 2: at the guys we mentioned in the first half and
- 17:23Speaker 2: you go, okay, bring it on. And we know you
- 17:27Speaker 2: could argue that the AFC North is the best division
- 17:29Speaker 2: or it's one of the most closest in football.
- 17:31Speaker 3: It's going to be an amazing game.
- 17:33Speaker 2: It's going to be a great year. Those games are
- 17:35Speaker 2: coming up later on in the year, especially in the
- 17:36Speaker 2: last few weeks. And for a neutral... going to be
- 17:39Speaker 2: very competitive for Steelers fans that defense is there and
- 17:42Speaker 2: on the offense as well when you look at how
- 17:44Speaker 2: this offense played choppy it was a choppy start like
- 17:47Speaker 2: but it was a typical week one start yeah I
- 17:49Speaker 2: just mentioned they're not a Ravens but not 40 odd
- 17:51Speaker 2: points but.
- 17:52Speaker 3: You know that's no way that I mean that's not
- 17:54Speaker 3: everything that's the exception to the rule rather than the
- 17:56Speaker 3: rule you see a lot of guys obviously in the
- 17:59Speaker 3: preseason stuff are trying and getting looks and rookies this
- 18:01Speaker 3: is obviously trainings training but this is the first For
- 18:05Speaker 3: a lot of guys, the first time you have those
- 18:07Speaker 3: starting guys in a pod playing against the best guys
- 18:11Speaker 3: the other team has in their pod and properly trying to,
- 18:15Speaker 3: because obviously the pre-season things, you don't want to show
- 18:17Speaker 3: certain things. You want to kind of keep things to yourself.
- 18:20Speaker 3: This is now, we're in the show, we're in the hunt.
- 18:22Speaker 3: So I think it's always going to have teething problems
- 18:25Speaker 3: in the offensive side of things.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Probably the two standouts in the game with that reunion
- 18:31Speaker 2: of McCarthy and Rodgers, I.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Thought Rodgers was good, man. He was really, really good.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Pushing the ball deep as well. Not just dink and
- 18:38Speaker 3: dunk stuff, which a lot of people were like, oh,
- 18:40Speaker 3: we're going to go back to 25 dink and dunk stuff.
- 18:43Speaker 3: He was pushing the ball deep. Some of those balls
- 18:44Speaker 3: were really, really nice.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I love how he's come back to work with McCarthy again,
- 18:50Speaker 2: just in that sense. It was choppy. It probably wasn't,
- 18:53Speaker 2: you couldn't describe it as fluent, but two guys that
- 18:55Speaker 2: did impress to an extent there. Pat Fryman probably got
- 18:58Speaker 2: the six-yard touchdown. Five targets, five catches, 46 yards. Michael
- 19:02Speaker 2: Pittman Jr., the coach.
- 19:03Speaker 3: The first one that won the sideline was lovely.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I got the coach in the same yesterday though. He's
- 19:09Speaker 2: a game changer, man.
- 19:09Speaker 3: A 6'4, whatever he weighs. Two 6'4 monsters, a 6'5
- 19:15Speaker 3: monster and a 6'6 monster.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You're right though, that 28-yard sideline grab was one of
- 19:20Speaker 2: the highlights of the game. 3 for 3, 58 yards.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I mean, we'll talk about this in a wee second
- 19:26Speaker 2: when we look ahead to this Patriots game, but you'd
- 19:28Speaker 2: like to see a wee bit more in that running game.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Jalen Warren, 46 yards, 5 catches, he did it that
- 19:33Speaker 2: one fumble, but I guess for this entire offence, and
- 19:37Speaker 2: for any offence in the league that maybe doesn't perform
- 19:39Speaker 2: to that peak level week 1, even though the defence did,
- 19:43Speaker 2: it's pick yourselves up, go again, still won the game,
- 19:46Speaker 2: still put points on the board, and even take it
- 19:47Speaker 2: on the way to TJ Watt's situation, still put points
- 19:49Speaker 2: on the board. 13 points up on the board.
- 19:51Speaker 3: This is it you just build everything you just build
- 19:55Speaker 3: and grow every week the results are the results but
- 19:59Speaker 3: it's the process is what gets you there you trust
- 20:01Speaker 3: the process look to improve every week it's as true
- 20:05Speaker 3: in our level of the sport as the top level
- 20:07Speaker 3: the proper competitive athletes aren't focusing on the win They're
- 20:10Speaker 3: focusing on improvement. If you get better every week, the
- 20:13Speaker 3: wins come.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Really good week in the sense of building and finding
- 20:17Speaker 2: ways to win. The third down defense was elite. Pat
- 20:20Speaker 2: Fryer move was absolutely automatic. And the takeaways really created
- 20:24Speaker 2: both touchdowns, as you mentioned earlier on, Brisker getting for
- 20:28Speaker 2: Pat Fryer move and obviously TJ's pick six. Definitely work
- 20:32Speaker 2: to work on, I guess. But the amount of games
- 20:36Speaker 2: I watched this weekend, folks, where I heard head coaches
- 20:38Speaker 2: talk at the end of, oh we won I'm not
- 20:40Speaker 2: happy we've all this to improve on that is the
- 20:43Speaker 2: way to go going a lot.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Of the half time chat was I need to get
- 20:46Speaker 3: in the room like I appreciate you need to talk
- 20:48Speaker 3: to me right now but we've got all these things
- 20:50Speaker 3: to fix I've got to get in the room head
- 20:51Speaker 3: coaches are hungry they're excited for it as well.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And it's going to take time I enjoyed hearing coach
- 20:57Speaker 2: Tomlin obviously former coach Tomlin on Sunday.
- 20:59Speaker 3: How relaxed and he looked he.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Looked sharp how happy did he look when he managed
- 21:04Speaker 2: to concede his defence to him yeah and it was
- 21:06Speaker 2: just it was cool he looks very he looks very
- 21:08Speaker 2: chill he looks nice doesn't he Fair play to him.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Sharp suit, well together, nice and calm, didn't look stressed
- 21:13Speaker 3: at all, it was good to see.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Coach McCarthy on the other hand, busy few weeks ahead,
- 21:19Speaker 2: and it really kicks off with that game, 6 o'clock,
- 21:21Speaker 2: Sunday night for people across the Isle of Arran, Northern Ireland,
- 21:24Speaker 2: Republic of Ireland, and even people listening in the UK
- 21:27Speaker 2: as well. Steelers going to New England, we'll talk about
- 21:29Speaker 2: that in a wee second, 6 o'clock, Sky Sports Football,
- 21:33Speaker 2: if you have Sky, and the channel's called Football, but
- 21:36Speaker 2: I think it's usually for like Premier League football, Championship football,
- 21:39Speaker 2: but it's on Sky Sports Football. That also means if
- 21:42Speaker 2: it's not on the main channel, it's not blacked out
- 21:44Speaker 2: on DAZN. What that means is it's on DAZN Game
- 21:47Speaker 2: Pass and also on Sky Sports as well. It's also
- 21:49Speaker 2: available to listen on the OTB Sports app, which was
- 21:51Speaker 2: announced last week after our podcast with Missy Matthews that
- 21:54Speaker 2: you can listen to all Steelers games audio format on
- 21:57Speaker 2: that app the entire season. And believe me, Mark, after
- 22:00Speaker 2: going to a London game or a game in France
- 22:03Speaker 2: or a game in Spain, for example, that's a very,
- 22:05Speaker 2: very handy tool to have before you talk about the Steelers.
- 22:08Speaker 2: That game of Wednesday night, the Patriots-Seahawks kicked it off.
- 22:12Speaker 2: And the reason I'm bringing it up is because, one,
- 22:13Speaker 2: the lads are going to Foxborough this weekend. But two,
- 22:17Speaker 2: you know, Patriots are under pressure here. Any team that
- 22:21Speaker 2: loses in week one, they're going to have a wee
- 22:23Speaker 2: bit more of a focus on them. And look, a
- 22:24Speaker 2: lot of people's favourites for the Super Bowl, the LA Rounds,
- 22:26Speaker 2: for example, right? They lost in week one. But for
- 22:29Speaker 2: New England, for... I'm not even talking about the off-season
- 22:32Speaker 2: that they've had both on and off the field. In February,
- 22:34Speaker 2: when they lost the Super Bowl in the way they
- 22:36Speaker 2: lost it, I mean, they looked different last week.
- 22:41Speaker 3: They looked different last week, but even with a loss,
- 22:45Speaker 3: I mean, going there is going to be a hard trip.
- 22:49Speaker 3: May looks good. He's playing well.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I'm really glad you said that. He does look good,
- 22:54Speaker 2: but there was three occasions last week.
- 22:56Speaker 3: This is the first game of the season. You've got,
- 22:59Speaker 3: as I said, those gelling issues. I'm not saying that
- 23:02Speaker 3: maybe there are actual issues or not there, but I'm
- 23:05Speaker 3: going to go week one, offense is... Sometimes it's just
- 23:08Speaker 3: going to take a wee bit more time to get
- 23:10Speaker 3: in there, but I think you're going in scheming that
- 23:13Speaker 3: this is the guy we need to shut down. Are
- 23:14Speaker 3: we keeping him in a pocket?
- 23:16Speaker 2: When you've got some of the defensive guys we talked
- 23:18Speaker 2: about in the first half, you can definitely give that
- 23:22Speaker 2: a go.
- 23:23Speaker 3: If we were sitting talking here over dinner and you
- 23:25Speaker 3: were like, okay, what are we going to put out
- 23:26Speaker 3: against any offense in the league? The Steelers defense is
- 23:30Speaker 3: going to be in that conversation. Top three, I would
- 23:34Speaker 3: be hoping as we get to the back end of things.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Definitely top two at the minute. Minimum anyway, if not
- 23:39Speaker 2: top one at the minute. Some really good defensive performances
- 23:42Speaker 2: in week one that the Cedars are definitely up there.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Talking about Drake Bay for me, Mark, I agree with you.
- 23:48Speaker 2: He showed good... He actually didn't have a bad game.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I think the reality in week one against the Seahawks
- 23:52Speaker 2: was there is an argument that the Patriots, I don't
- 23:56Speaker 2: want to say threw away that game, but they should
- 23:58Speaker 2: have won that game against the Seahawks. But there was
- 24:00Speaker 2: two or three occasions, especially at the end, where he
- 24:03Speaker 2: threw the ball in the end zone and you're sitting
- 24:05Speaker 2: there going, okay, I'm looking at the clock, I can
- 24:07Speaker 2: understand to an extent of why he would throw it,
- 24:10Speaker 2: but there was a couple of passes where I thought, no,
- 24:12Speaker 2: that's not, like, why would you play that ball? So
- 24:15Speaker 2: I'm sort of hoping that from a Steelers point of
- 24:17Speaker 2: view here, that that continues, but that's not really all
- 24:19Speaker 2: else to sort of prepare for, that's more injury we
- 24:21Speaker 2: had to prepare for as well.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, very much so, and that there's, obviously having been
- 24:26Speaker 3: around the sport Again, much lower level. I'm well aware.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Stop saying much lower level. You've been around this sport.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Look here. You've put pads on. You've played the game.
- 24:38Speaker 3: The thing is, I know that sometimes throws and passes
- 24:41Speaker 3: and things, you watch it and you always automatically go,
- 24:44Speaker 3: why did the quarterback do that? It's not necessarily that
- 24:48Speaker 3: he wasn't supposed to be a receiver somewhere where he's
- 24:50Speaker 3: supposed to be, or the defense has done some sort
- 24:52Speaker 3: of trick with the coverage where they've shown something and
- 24:54Speaker 3: changed to it. So the space that he thought was
- 24:57Speaker 3: going to be open wasn't open. Gee whiz, I can't
- 24:59Speaker 3: even imagine trying to... And some of the really cool
- 25:02Speaker 3: inside stuff you see where quarterbacks are going through cadences
- 25:05Speaker 3: and all the things they have to remember. I couldn't
- 25:07Speaker 3: even imagine the pressure and the speed of thought you
- 25:09Speaker 3: need to execute that. I just always am curious now
- 25:14Speaker 3: is do I have the whole picture? Was there supposed
- 25:16Speaker 3: to be a... What was the option that they read?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Did the receiver run it differently than he read it
- 25:21Speaker 3: rather than he just chucked it? And why did he
- 25:23Speaker 3: chuck it?
- 25:24Speaker 2: One of the biggest... differences in this game is and
- 25:27Speaker 2: this does not timestamp whatsoever EJ Brown who went to
- 25:30Speaker 2: New England he is out for this game I know
- 25:33Speaker 2: he's certain he's injured that's a big big loss for
- 25:36Speaker 2: New England because that's something they really struggled on in
- 25:38Speaker 2: the second half running back running.
- 25:40Speaker 5: Back Stevenson Stevenson yeah he's going to be he's obviously
- 25:45Speaker 5: a very good player they weren't that great on the
- 25:48Speaker 5: run in week one either who was Hunter Henry obviously
- 25:52Speaker 5: last year Keir Steeler's a wee bit of a baller
- 25:56Speaker 5: So he's definitely someone, after May, you definitely don't want
- 25:58Speaker 5: to forget about.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Matt Collins, Hunter Henry, they've also brought in Romeo Dibes.
- 26:03Speaker 2: But again, let's be very clear here, and we are
- 26:06Speaker 2: going to talk about the theatres now, don't worry, but
- 26:08Speaker 2: I guess the point in which I'm trying to get
- 26:10Speaker 2: across to people listening is this is going to be
- 26:13Speaker 2: a difficult game because they're going to be reeling after
- 26:15Speaker 2: week one. I haven't got it in front of me,
- 26:18Speaker 2: but the first four games of the season for the Patriots,
- 26:20Speaker 2: are very, very difficult both home and on the road
- 26:23Speaker 2: as well.
- 26:23Speaker 3: If you want a statement play from the Steelers team,
- 26:27Speaker 3: we saw a bit, not 100% firing on the offense,
- 26:32Speaker 3: but some really hard play, Steelers football play, both sides
- 26:36Speaker 3: of the ball. There's a big statement where the defense
- 26:38Speaker 3: comes out here and really gets after a top-level offense.
- 26:42Speaker 2: So you're key to the game if we start this
- 26:45Speaker 2: whole segment. If we start this whole segment. And yours
- 26:47Speaker 2: has to be then. You've got to get May off
- 26:49Speaker 2: a spot without selling out and some of those guys.
- 26:51Speaker 3: You've got to keep them in the pocket if you can.
- 26:54Speaker 3: If they can continue to generate pressure without having to
- 26:57Speaker 3: send too much extra and you can help out those
- 27:00Speaker 3: DBs out, defensive backside, that would be fantastic. Offensively, obviously
- 27:05Speaker 3: getting some more of the running game going so you're
- 27:07Speaker 3: not having to rely on as much passing. But I
- 27:11Speaker 3: really liked Rodgers' passing game. There was some stuff that
- 27:13Speaker 3: was open. I think that they're only going to get
- 27:15Speaker 3: better and better and better. Mm-hmm. And offensively and defensively,
- 27:19Speaker 3: they're a big physical team and they're going to wear
- 27:21Speaker 3: teams down. I think you're going to see a lot
- 27:23Speaker 3: of offensive production in the second half.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Time will tell. For me, it's going to be not just,
- 27:28Speaker 2: and I fully agree with what you're saying, but the
- 27:29Speaker 2: defense in terms of May, because I actually feel like
- 27:31Speaker 2: if May is put under pressure constantly, I think he's
- 27:35Speaker 2: going to fold a wee bit in this game. So
- 27:36Speaker 2: one can hope for that there. Two things for me,
- 27:39Speaker 2: clean up the offense a wee bit. It wasn't as
- 27:43Speaker 2: fluid as we would have hoped in week one. There's
- 27:45Speaker 2: nothing wrong with that. but it's just trying to find
- 27:47Speaker 2: that way of using that chemistry, using this week to
- 27:50Speaker 2: get better, but more so as well, allowing guys like
- 27:54Speaker 2: Jalen Warren to run the ball more in the game
- 27:57Speaker 2: as well. If it's not working out when you've got Pat,
- 28:00Speaker 2: when you've got DK, when you've got different guys on
- 28:03Speaker 2: the offense, run the ball there, because there is going
- 28:06Speaker 2: to be points, whether it's the second, third, fourth quarter
- 28:08Speaker 2: in this game, where the pitch fans are going to
- 28:10Speaker 2: be up for it. If you need to run it
- 28:12Speaker 2: to get some yardage, do it, but be smart enough
- 28:15Speaker 2: when you're on the offensive line?
- 28:16Speaker 3: I think a balanced offense, given the level, obviously the
- 28:22Speaker 3: highest level of the sport, I think a balanced offense
- 28:24Speaker 3: is needed. Yes, it can be pass heavy or run heavy.
- 28:27Speaker 3: You kind of need to be able to produce at both. Arguably,
- 28:32Speaker 3: if you're really good at passing, it's going to have
- 28:34Speaker 3: less guys in the box. You can run the ball.
- 28:36Speaker 3: If you're really good at running and you're a big,
- 28:37Speaker 3: heavy team, they're going to have more guys in the box.
- 28:40Speaker 3: All teams can do both. They have their personnel packages.
- 28:42Speaker 3: They can come in and run whatever they need to
- 28:44Speaker 3: run at the time. You just like to see them
- 28:47Speaker 3: get a wee bit more so they have some better situations,
- 28:50Speaker 3: like easier situations that then Roger's experience can then pick
- 28:53Speaker 3: apart and really get going to work with his, again,
- 28:57Speaker 3: absolutely enormous receiver core.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I'm going to get your score prediction in a wee second.
- 29:00Speaker 2: There is one thing I want to bring on beforehand.
- 29:02Speaker 2: We know what it's like in New England. Believe me,
- 29:04Speaker 2: anytime I've been out at the airport in Boston, it's
- 29:06Speaker 2: always been cold. So I know it's not like it
- 29:09Speaker 2: all the time, but we know how bad it can get.
- 29:11Speaker 2: At this time of the year. We know how fired
- 29:12Speaker 2: up the Patriots are going to be. Both on the
- 29:14Speaker 2: field and in the stands. We can argue the Steelers
- 29:16Speaker 2: travel as well. If not better than anybody in the
- 29:19Speaker 2: entire league. But what I will say is. When it
- 29:22Speaker 2: comes down to those pressure moments. When we might need
- 29:25Speaker 2: to hit a 50-55 yard or 60 yard field goal.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Hopefully not a 60 yarder. But we've seen obviously Boswell
- 29:31Speaker 2: miss one on Sunday in week one. But we know
- 29:33Speaker 2: how good he can be. So it's just giving him
- 29:35Speaker 2: that confidence and alignment. And I'm sure he will come
- 29:37Speaker 2: back in week two.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Are you ever curious just how fast. do you reckon
- 29:40Speaker 3: someone could hit a live field goal from? I actually
- 29:44Speaker 3: see them in training and stuff and they are in
- 29:46Speaker 3: the mid 60s but obviously you never do it in
- 29:48Speaker 3: a game but I kind of like to see it
- 29:50Speaker 3: once in a game.
- 29:51Speaker 2: In week one in Sunday Night Football Cowboys Giants obviously
- 29:55Speaker 2: Steve's podcast but just on the whole kicking topic The Cowboys,
- 29:59Speaker 2: I think it was like a 68 or 70 yarder.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I thought, go for it, lads, at the end of
- 30:03Speaker 2: the first half. I think the one thing I would
- 30:06Speaker 2: say is consistency, working well under pressure is key in
- 30:10Speaker 2: that position. And we know Boswell has it. He'd be
- 30:13Speaker 2: disappointed he missed that one in week one, but he'll
- 30:14Speaker 2: go from there. He'll just keep picking up. And it's
- 30:16Speaker 2: the team believing in him and giving him the confidence.
- 30:18Speaker 3: He's also not a young player. He's going to have
- 30:21Speaker 3: the experience. They always say, you've got to be able
- 30:23Speaker 3: to forget. It's always the next play, the next play.
- 30:24Speaker 3: You've got to be able to forget. Hardest thing to do,
- 30:27Speaker 3: Forget about the bad players. Forget about the blue players.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Just execute the next play. It's a hard skill to teach,
- 30:34Speaker 3: but Jeepers, there's no sport like it. It's all sports.
- 30:37Speaker 3: You've got to forget about it when you're live and
- 30:38Speaker 3: just keep going on to the next job. But everything's
- 30:41Speaker 3: a reset. You've just got to be able to forget
- 30:43Speaker 3: the bad and go on and go forward with the
- 30:44Speaker 3: good and just execute the next play.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Take the good with the bad, happy with the sad.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Just finally, star of the run game for the Patriots,
- 30:51Speaker 2: 2.6 yards per carry. Seattle held the Patriots 2 on
- 30:54Speaker 2: Wednesday night. We'll also argue the Patriots have had more
- 30:57Speaker 2: time to recover as well, which is going to be
- 30:59Speaker 2: a factor on all those points, Mark, if you had
- 31:02Speaker 2: to give a prediction for this game. I guess the
- 31:05Speaker 2: question is, how much of a Steelers are we.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Going to win by, Mark? I'm going like a 24-14
- 31:10Speaker 3: is what I would like to see.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:11Speaker 3: I think it's going to be a really close first half. Again,
- 31:15Speaker 3: coming into that big defensive battle. But I think, again,
- 31:18Speaker 3: the offense and the defense are going to wear teams down.
- 31:22Speaker 3: The Steelers' offense and defense are going to wear teams
- 31:24Speaker 3: down physically. I think you're going to start to see
- 31:26Speaker 3: a lot of production in the second half of these
- 31:27Speaker 3: games for the Steelers' offense.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I think the Steelers will win the game, but I
- 31:33Speaker 2: don't think it'll be as.
- 31:35Speaker 3: As that big a gap.
- 31:36Speaker 2: As big a gap as that. I think it's going
- 31:37Speaker 2: to be very, very tight. We know how good Vrabel
- 31:40Speaker 2: can be in terms of managing certain schemes. I feel
- 31:43Speaker 2: like this could be... I actually think 24. I think 24-21,
- 31:47Speaker 2: Boswell can win and feel the goal to win the game. So, look,
- 31:51Speaker 2: if you give me the option right now, I'll take it.
- 31:53Speaker 2: But this is, let's be very clear here, this is
- 31:55Speaker 2: a Super Bowl finalist, a team that surprised a lot
- 31:58Speaker 2: of people last year, and a team that will be
- 32:01Speaker 2: reeling from a week one loss in prime time, where
- 32:04Speaker 2: the whole country and half the world watching as well.
- 32:07Speaker 2: They're going to be up for it, and it's going
- 32:08Speaker 2: to be on the Cedars.
- 32:09Speaker 3: They're going to be up for it. Again, it's a
- 32:11Speaker 3: good six o'clock time slot for us, so it's going
- 32:15Speaker 3: to have full energy, won't even need to be caffeinated. Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Another big feed, you know, it's always good to eat
- 32:21Speaker 3: food with football.
- 32:22Speaker 2: What's your go-to food for week one?
- 32:24Speaker 3: Well, the week just there, I had the chicken nachos,
- 32:26Speaker 3: shredded chicken nachos, nice queso.
- 32:28Speaker 2: All homemade, yeah?
- 32:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and not by me, but my fantastic wife.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I came home from work and it was there ready
- 32:34Speaker 3: for me. So fantastic. What about yourself?
- 32:36Speaker 2: You've made a really good point. Six o'clock's good because
- 32:39Speaker 2: you can sort of rock up and stuff. It's different
- 32:41Speaker 2: for me because you're going to get the wee tiny
- 32:43Speaker 2: violin out now. Like six o'clock for me until like
- 32:47Speaker 2: one or now, right? one or two in the morning
- 32:50Speaker 2: is work like it's social media it's obviously watching stuff
- 32:55Speaker 2: making notes for stuff like this here but I got
- 32:58Speaker 2: a Chinese okay.
- 33:00Speaker 3: I like that I don't know would the interactions come
- 33:04Speaker 3: in I'd like to get some.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Pittsburgh recipes if people want to ask what's football.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Food give me something that you can make in the.
- 33:09Speaker 2: House what should we have at 6 o'clock on Sunday
- 33:12Speaker 2: night and again a reminder for people a lot of
- 33:15Speaker 2: these games this year bar a few prime time there's
- 33:17Speaker 2: a Black Friday game as well A lot of these
- 33:19Speaker 2: games are on 6 o'clock in this game. Beautiful. 6
- 33:24Speaker 2: o'clock I want to say IST, GMT and then 1
- 33:27Speaker 2: o'clock Eastern if you're listening over in the States. 7
- 33:30Speaker 2: o'clock if you're in Paris ahead of this game next month.

- 33:49Speaker 2: have to come back next time.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yeah, look, thanks for having me. It was great. And obviously,
- 33:53Speaker 3: if anyone sends in some recipes, let me hear them
- 33:56Speaker 3: and then I'll maybe get a photo of my attempt

- 34:00Speaker 3: have me back.
