- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Success by the Book Podcast, the place where Christians who want to experience the extravagant goodness of God in all areas of their lives come from mentorship.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: I am your host, Dr.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Inna, and I'll be unpacking the secrets I have learned from the Word of God over the last two decades.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Let's dive in.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Today we're gonna have so much fun because I am going to show you the number one habit to adopt for greatness.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: And this is so important because God called you to be great.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: I want you to think about what the word of God says.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: In the beginning, it says, And God made man and he blessed him, meaning mankind, and blessed him, which bless him means an empowerment to prosper, blessed him and said, Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: This was God's original intention.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: You're called to be great.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: When when God walked up to Abraham and wanted to make a covenant with Abraham, what did he tell him?
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: He said, You know, said, I'm gonna bless you, I'm gonna make your name great, I'm gonna make you into a great nation, right?
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who curse you.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: You all the families of the earth would be blessed, blessed.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: This is what he told one man, right?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: And so God's intent for you is for you to be great, his intent for you is for you to have a lot of impact, his intent is for you to be blessed, and you cannot afford to believe otherwise.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Now, if you find it in the word where God says, Oh, you should be small and inconsequential and mediocre and all of that, fine.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: But if you don't find it in the word, don't adopt it.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Like don't buy into other people's limitations, okay?
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna show you a habit to adopt.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: And before we get into this, I want to say this, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: You most people, I I was like that.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Most people are confused by their quote-unquote normalness and confused about their um ordinarily.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: I made that word up, okay?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Because we seem normal, we seem ordinary, right?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: But I'm trying to tell you like that may be true, but the seed of greatness is on the inside of you.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Don't be confused by it.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: If you go to um Nigeria, we have a lot of oil, right?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: We have a lot of crude oil.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Now, if you go to a place where there's crude oil in the ground, guess what you're gonna see?
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: You're just gonna see dirt.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: All you're gonna see is dirt.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: But if you will drill down though, there's billions and billions, in fact, trillions of dollars of oil hid in the earth in the earth.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: You go to South Africa and you're like a place where there's diamonds, grace.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: If you go there, what you're gonna see is dirt.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: It's just gonna look like dirt.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: But when you drill, then you see the diamonds and billions and billions and dollars of diamonds.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: And so don't be confused by your earth suits, right?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Don't be confused by what you see when you look in the mirror.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Don't be confused by any of that because on the inside is greatness.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: You are so valuable that God decided, I'm gonna send my son to die so I can redeem these people.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: You are that valuable.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: You are so valuable that of all the places where God could live, he decided to live on the inside of you.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: So when we say, Oh, I'm not great, I'm just ordinary, and all of those things, hello, you we think that's being humble.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: That is not being humble.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: The Bible, talking about Moses, said that Moses was the meekest man on the earth.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Now, this meekest man on the earth is the person who inflicted the ten plagues on Egypt.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: This is the same man who threw up sand and they turned it into insects.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: This is the same man who, by one word, turned all the water in a whole country into blood.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: So he was not powerless, he was not weak, he was not a nobody, he was the one who stood and withstood Pharaoh and fought for the deliverance of three million Jews.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: I need you to understand this.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: So he was a great man, but he was meek because he had his power was under control.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: He was submitted to God, right?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: So he he was meek, but that meek doesn't mean powerless.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Meek doesn't mean broke, humble doesn't mean can't do stuff.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Okay, so don't be fooled by how normal you look, how ordinary you look.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: You are called to be great, and that's the whole reason we're here.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: We're like, okay, let's go look into some of these habits.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: We're only gonna look at one today, but what is the number one habit I need to have if I am going to be great?
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Now, I like to talk a lot about, you know, where I started from as a Christian because I believe it's helpful.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Like some may look at me now and they're like, oh, yeah, you know, she's a prolific speaker, she's so anointed, she's running all these successful businesses, she's a unicorn.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I can't be like her.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you something.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: In my wildest dreams, I never thought I'll be a business owner.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: In my wildest dreams, I never imagined I would be a pastor.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: In fact, if somebody told me that I'll be on YouTube talking to people, I would have been like, get out of here.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Because this is not, this is a never, never, never.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: This is not a thing that's going to happen.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I did not have confidence.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: I was a very insecure person.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Very insecure.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And anything you see and you're like, oh my goodness, Dr.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Una is amazing because it is something that God worked out in me.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: I was ordinary and normal, quote unquote, if you will, but on the inside, because God lives on the inside of me, God, um, you know, God has wisdom to give me, He has favor to give me, He has fruit of the spirit to give me.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Anything you see or you're like, oh, I love that about her.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: It's from God.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, even with people.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Why do you think I talk so much about you have to do like people, I don't do people, you're gonna have to do people.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: That was me, right?
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: So socially awkward, super introverted, introvert who didn't want anything to do with people.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Like, can you imagine?
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine that?
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: When God first told me to start um the practice that I started, I was like, I'm not the kind of person who can do that.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: When he told me to start Arntra MD, I was like, I'm not the kind of person who can do that, right?
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: You are called to be great.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: All you need to do is follow the prescription that God has given us for greatness.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: What you need to do is follow what he said.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: What you need to do is go deeper in him.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: He is your greatness.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: The greatness doesn't come from you.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Sustained greatness in all aspects of your life, all aspects of your life does not come from you, it comes from him, it comes from God.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, so what is this habit?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna describe it in many different ways.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, the habit is, and indulge me, okay, multidimensional hard work.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: If you make a quality decision that you are not going to work hard, you have excluded yourself from the school of greatness.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: You have just decided, you see, this greatness thing, I'm not about it.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I just want to, I want to be mediocre, I want to be average, I want to be like everybody else.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: But if you want to be a sign and a wonder, multi-dimensional, I say multidimensional because it's not just one type of hard work.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna unpack three for you.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: It's not just one type of hard work, it's multidimensional.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: But you gotta like to work hard.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Now notice what I did not say.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: I did not say multidimensional hustle.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Hustle, in my understanding, is like toiling.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, so there's hard work and there's toiling.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: What is the difference between them?
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: When you work hard, you deploy your energy in the you know, to accomplish something that is great.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: But when you put in some, you get a lot more.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Think of it like any other investment, right?
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: If I invest in real estate, I can put 100,000 in, and maybe at the end of 10 years, that property has doubled in value.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: So it's made me another 100,000.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Or I put something in mutual funds and it's at 10% or whatever, and I put in 100,000 at 10 years is so much more, right?
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: And so I put in some, I get a lot more.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: It's like driving a car versus walking.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: When I walk, I'm expending so much energy to cover a short distance.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: When I drive, I'm expending energy to drive, but the ROI on the energy I'm expending is so much higher.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: So work is I put in effort, I get an exponentially bigger accomplishment.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: So I'm not talking about hustling, toiling, I'm talking about hard work, which means I'm working, but I'm getting so much more out of it.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Now, toiling, on the other hand, is I put a lot in and I get a little out.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: That is called the curse.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: If you look in Genesis chapter three, and I believe I'm going to read it, if you look in Genesis chapter three, you'll see it there.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: It's called the curse.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we're not talking about the curse, we are talking about hard work.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Hard work is not a curse.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, hard work is not a curse.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, so it says um to the man, when God was when when Adam was done sinning, this is what happened.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Um, Genesis chapter 3 from verse 17.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Then to Adam he said, He being God, because you have heeded the voice of your wife and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Curse is the ground for your sake.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: I didn't plant thorns, I didn't plant thistles, I didn't plant weed, I didn't plant all these things, but all these things are coming up.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Because I'm in because this person is in toil mode.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, and you shall eat of the herb of the field in the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: So are we going to work hard?
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Are we going to toil?
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: You can say no to that.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: You can decide, yeah, toilet is not for me.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I don't want that.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: But I but I want to work hard.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Again, this is a thing where, you know, we either believe, oh, I'm going to work hard and my hard work is going to do everything, or I'm going to pray and just trust God and God is going to do everything.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: We're going to partner with God, which means God is going to do a lot, we're going to do a lot, and we're going to get a whole lot out of that.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: So I'm a hard worker.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: I'm a hard worker.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: I'm a hard worker.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: I do not abort what God is doing in my life by not showing up, by not doing my part.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Now, so I said I'm going to define it a number of ways.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: So what we're going to say is multidimensional hard work, okay?
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Which can be being fully engaged.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Man, we should show up in life fully, like fully on, not a half-mass, like fully on, showing up and deploying the energy that we've been given to move every aspect of our lives forward.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: What is the point of the energy?
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: What is the point of the strength?
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Like the strength is going to be spent somehow.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Do you know you can spend your intelligence figuring out how not how not to work, or you can spend your intelligence working?
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: You can spend your intelligence figuring out how to do things the wrong way, or you can figure out how to do the right thing.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: The intelligence is going to be spent, the strength is going to be spent, the energy is going to be spent.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: You might as well spend it pushing your life in the right direction.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: I think it was at the end of last year.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: God asked me a question.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: He said, if you spent all of next year becoming everything you can become and accomplishing everything you want to accomplish, would that be a good use of your energy?
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: And I thought about it.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: I said, yeah, because that means I would have gotten everything I want.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: He's like, then do that.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Like, spend like this is a worthy use of your time, becoming everything you can be and doing everything you can do so you can have all you can have.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: Because what that means is at the end of the day, you'll be there.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Everything that was a dream will be a reality.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Everything that was a promise of God will be a reality.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: So it's being on, it's being engaged.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Now, if we go old King James, it's being violent, right?
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: The Bible talking about says up until the days of the of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven suffering violence, and the violent take it by force.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you something.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: You are never going to passively accomplish your goals.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: You are never going to casually go upstream.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: You are not going to cruise control your way to greatness.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: This requires force.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: It requires violence.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: It requires, I don't mean violence against other people, right?
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: I don't mean that's not what I mean.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: It's violence going after what you're supposed to go after.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: It's being engaged, it's being fully on, it's working hard, it's all of that stuff.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, let us just say no to laziness.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Let's treat laziness like it's a cuss word.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: Let's treat passivity and lukewarmness and what will be will be ness and all of that, like the enemy that it is.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be on, we're gonna go after what we're going after enthusiastically.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Challenges are gonna show up, we're gonna mow them down and all this stuff.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: This is why you need community to do this.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Because everybody has a moment when they're discouraged, including me.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: Everybody has that, but you need to be around people who are on fire, people who are like, we're not taking no for an answer, people who are like, I feel kind of sort of discouraged, but the word says, Don't be discouraged.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: I am with you.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: Like, what am I doing?
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, so so those of you who come every Monday on here, you're part of the Success by the Book community.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Um, those of you who come on Arise and Shine every morning at 6 a.m., you're part of the Arise and Shine community, you want to be surrounded about by people who just by them existing, their lives just encourage you and challenge you to keep going.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: How many of you are already challenged today?
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I haven't even given you the three, you know, it's multi-dimensional.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: I haven't even given you the things.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: Well, how many of you are already challenged?
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: How many of you are already sitting up straight?
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Like, let's go, let's take it, let's let's become, let's do this thing, right?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: That's what community is for, okay?
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: Because we're not rolling over, we're not playing dead, right?
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: So multi-dimensional hard work.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna break this down.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna break it down into three areas, and after today, you're gonna understand it.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna go after it, okay?
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: After it, our days of lukewarmness and nonchalance and all of that stuff.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: It's over, right?
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: And no matter how committed we are, like, boom, let's go.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: There's more, there's so much more.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: This is one precious life.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: This is not a rehearsal, right?
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: This is the thing, and when we're done, we're done.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, all right.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: So, panana, okay.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: So, multi-dimensional hard work.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: The first hard work, the very first one is spiritual hard work.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Please hear me.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: You are never going to casually become a spiritual giant, okay?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: This is not a thing that happens.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: You are going to work hard on your spiritual life.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Okay, now let me read a scripture for you, and I pray you never forget it.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: This is um John chapter 15.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Okay, so pay attention to this.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: John chapter 15.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Listen to these are the words of Jesus, okay?
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: So you if you have a if you have a Bible where the words of Jesus are in red, like mine, right?
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: These this is in red, these are the words of Jesus Christ Himself.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: This is what he said.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: I am the true vine, and my father is the vine dresser.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: So Jesus is the vine.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: His father is the vine dresser.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: He goes on to say that we are the branches.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: Now, we are not branches physically, right?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: We're all individuals walking about, okay?
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: But we are branches spiritually, okay?
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: So we are connected to Jesus, but if you think about it, the vine is the source.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: The branch is not the source, the branch does not get to the soil to get nutrients.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: The vine is what has roots that go into the soil to get nutrients.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So the branch has no nutrients of its own.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: The branch can't hold itself up, it's the vine that holds the branch up.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Like you have to understand this.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I am the vine, the true vine.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: My father is the vine dresser.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: And then he says, look, look at verse 5.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: He says, I am the vine, you are the branches.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: This whole thing of I'm my own person, no ma'am, no sir.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Not if you're a Christian, you're not.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: You branch.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: There's no such thing as a branch existing by itself.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: We are dependent.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: I'm going somewhere with this.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: We are dependent.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: If you think that you got this and you're gonna be great as a Christian outside of God, you have a very, very, very, very twisted.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: I am the vine, you are the branches.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: He who abides in me and I in him bears much fruit.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: So I can bear fruit as a branch if I stay connected to the vine.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Then he says, For without me you can do nothing.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: He didn't say you can't be busy, he didn't say you can't think you're productive, but the truth of the matter is if I am not abiding in him and him in me, I am the dead branch, I cannot bear fruit, I can do nothing.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: So anytime Satan whispers in your ear that you prayed a lot yesterday, you don't need to pray today, that it doesn't take all that, that you're being fanatical, that oh, it's fine, everybody's doing it, aka not praying.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Understand what he's trying to do.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: He's trying to get you to build a life where you are doing nothing, where you can do nothing, where you can accomplish nothing.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: So before we even talk about all the other stuff, we have to understand that at all costs we protect our spiritual life, we stay connected to the vine, we stay connected to him, we do that with prayer, we especially praying in the spirit, we do that with prayer, we do that with worship, right?
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: We do that with hosting his presence, we do that by spending time in the word, we do that by obedience.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: These spiritual disciplines keep us connected to the vine so we can have, you know, we can have the sap that comes all the way from the vine into the branch to give us life so we can bear fruit.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, there will be no fruit.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: So we work hard to maintain our spiritual walk.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: We work hard to maintain our prayer life, we work hard to maintain our Bible study life.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: We work hard to do these things.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: We're not casual about it, we don't let it just slip.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: If we're like, oh my goodness, how did you read my Bible yesterday or the day before?
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: We catch, we we like get up and catch ourselves and start reading and start studying and go back to praying and all of this stuff.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: We do the work of putting ourselves, giving ourselves the gift of accountability.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: If you're here and you come on a rise and shine, this is a huge part of why you come because you're reminded to pray, you're reminded of the power of praying in the spirits, you're reminded of the power of meditation.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: You look in the word, you're like, man, I need to spend more time in the word.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: You look at other people praying, and you're like, if these people can pray, if this person in the Pacific time zone and they can come on the rise and shine every morning, which is 3 a.m.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: for them, I have no excuse.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: We must maintain our vital union with Jesus Christ the vine, so that we the branches can stay alive, can bear fruit, and can do a lot of things.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Because without him, we can do nothing.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: So, oh, it's fine to not pray.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: No, it ain't.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's fine if you know we read our Bible once at a time.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: No, it ain't.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Oh, I don't have to practice obedience.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Like the blood of Jesus was shed for me.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: I can do whatever well.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: No, you can't.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: So I am looking for some people who are making a commitment that they are going to work hard on maintaining their spiritual disciplines, knowing that they are dependent, they're dependent on the vine.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: And outside of the vine, they can be busy for a hundred years and still accomplish nothing.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: The first time you came on Horizon Shine, you're probably like, okay, I hear whoever is speaking.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Second time, third time, fourth time.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Well, those of you have been on Horizon Shine for longer than a year, if I was talking softly, if I was talking softly, and there are many people around, you'll be able to pick up my voice.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: You know why you're going to be able to pick up my voice?
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Because you've heard it over and over and over.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: You hung out with me every morning for 365 days.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: It's the same thing with God.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: The more time you spend in his presence, the more you know his voice, the more time you spend in his word, the more you know his voice, the more time you spend in his presence.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: He gives you all these promptings, you know which promptings are from him.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, so it puts you in this position where you can hear from God.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: But this is the deal if you can hear from God and you obey what he says, now this scripture is officially true for you.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: You Start living this life of abundance in all areas of your life.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: You start living this life where God is directing you, guiding you along the best pathway for your life.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: You start living a life that is a sign and a wonder.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Because your life is being directed by God.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Just spend the time in his presence.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: Work hard at staying in his presence.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Work hard at going deeper in him.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Because when you do, you go higher in every aspect of your life.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: It's easier for you to manifest the fruit of the spirit.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: The Bible talks about it in Galatians 5 22.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, right?
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Self-control, all of that stuff.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: It's easier for you to manifest.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Because you become like who you spend time with.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: You become like who you spend time with.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: So the Bible says in Proverbs 13:20, it says, spend time with the, like walk with the wise and become wise.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: And we talk about this in the context of relationships.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: But how about the relationship with God?
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: The Bible says God is love.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: The more time you spend with him, the more you can love people.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: God is Jehovah Shalom, God your peace.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: The more time you spend with God, the more at peace you are.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: God is like the more time you spend with him, the more full of joy you are.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: The more time you spend with him, the more forgiving you are.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: So you start displaying his character and you start displaying his power.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Because you're around it all the time.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: You're around his words, and God talks big.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: Have you heard him introduce himself?
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: I am the Lord God, the creator of heavens and the earth.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: None is as powerful as me.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: This is him, this is him introducing himself.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: And his plans are big.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: And it starts rubbing off on you where you're like, I can make these little plans.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: God is my God.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: And the more you know him, the more faith you have.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Because you now you know the person who is doing the work.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: And the more faith you have, the more exploits you can do.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: They that do know their God, Daniel says, shall be strong and they shall do exploits.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: So I must work hard in my spiritual life.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: I must.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: It is the foundation of everything.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Nothing else works at a God level.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Nothing else works at a God level until you do this.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: Nothing else works.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Nothing else works.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: So I'm glad you made the commitment.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you have an understanding of what it does.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: So every time Satan comes to convince you not to pray, not to worship, not to do all of these things, now you know what he's trying to do.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want you to hear the voice of God.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: He does not want you to stay connected to the vine.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: He does not want you to accomplish much.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: He does not want you to have faith.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: He does not want you to do any of these things.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: That's why.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: So you fight and you work hard at your spiritual life.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: So, oh, it's not convenient.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Work hard at your spiritual life.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, I did, I don't do it right.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Work hard at your spiritual life.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: So I know a number of of you are talking about the time for rise and shine.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: So let me let me talk to you guys about that really quickly.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: So rise and shine is 6 a.m.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Eastern.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: 6 a.m.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Eastern.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: It goes for um 70, 70 minutes or 65 minutes.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: 65 minutes.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: We end at 7.05.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Now there are people who are in the Pacific time zone.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: Some of them come up live.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Big shout out to um Stella Fanico.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: She's my friend.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: She's my friend.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: She's been on Rise of Shack for years and years and years.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: And it's 3 a.m.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: for her, but that's what she does.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: I have other people who are friends who are in the Pacific time zone.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And what they do is they do it 6 a.m.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: their time.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: So if you go to YouTube and team, if you can post that link there for the playlist, it's there on YouTube.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: So they just do the replay at six o'clock, but they show up as if they were live, right?
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: So there are ways you can work around it, but it is so worth it because of how powerful it is.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: So first, so we talked about multidimensional hard work.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: So we talked about the spiritual side.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: Now, so the spirit, the second one is the mind.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: Guys, listen to me.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: A mind not governed by God cannot produce God-level results.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: A mind that is not disciplined cannot produce God-level results.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: A mind left to itself can never produce God-level results.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: So we will not, our minds will not passively allow us to become who God called us to be.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Now I need to, I'm gonna read a scripture for you.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: And um, you've heard it many, many times because I've read it many, many times, but I need you to hear this.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, this is so important.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: I'm pulling it up on my phone because I want to I want to be able to read it from multiple translations, okay?
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: Proverbs chapter four, verse 23.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, so now please pay attention to this.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, so number one is spiritual, number two is the mind.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna work hard on my mind.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, now the new living translation, new international version says, above all else.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: This shows you how important it is.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows out of it, flows from it.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, so what that means is, and the Bible talking about heart is not talking about your blood pump, right?
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: It's talking about your inner life, in this case, more so the mind.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: So this this is something that is serious because the Bible said, above all else.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: NLT says, guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Your life will not look different from your mind.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: So when we allow our minds brood over foolishness, foolishness shows up in our lives.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: When we allow our minds brood on the things we're afraid of, the things we're afraid of show up in our lives.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Our lives will not look different from our minds.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: It will not.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: This is the Bible, this is the word of God that cannot be broken.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: It will not.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: It will not, which means I must deploy hard work on my mind.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: Um, English Standard Version.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Keep your heart with all diligence.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: You notice this, these are not passive words, like guarding your mind is not a passive thing.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, but this says, keep your heart with all vigilance.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: Does this sound passive to you?
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: No, this is hard work.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flows the spring of life.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Um, let me look for one more translation here.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Amplified Bible.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: So if I will not work hard on my mind, if I will not guard my mind, if I allow you, allow my mind to flow as a garden with whatever will be, will be, all those things will show up in my life.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Like weeds will show up everywhere.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: So, guess what we need to do?
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: We need to work hard on our minds.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: We cannot leave it to chance.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, this is a huge reason we have the word of God.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: We have the word of God so we understand what we're allowed to think about, what we're allowed to brood over, what we're about to allowed to have as our default thinking.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: So let's unpack this mind business.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: I started looking at this a different way.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: I actually started this morning, so this is hot off the press, but I'll let you have it.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: I started thinking about this way.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: I can have you think about a switch, right?
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: If I have a light switch and I turn it on, there's a ripple effect, lights go on.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: If I turn it off, there's a ripple effect, the lights go off.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: So I can have so the light can be on the on position or the off position.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: Now, my mind can be on the God position or the Satan position.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: There is no neutral, there's nothing like your neutral mind.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: It's it's either fully deployed for God or fully deployed for Satan.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: There's nothing like your neutral mind.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: Nothing doesn't exist.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: So I can have my mind in the God position, or I can have my mind in the Satan position.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: Now, when we say that, you're like, ah, I'm gonna have my mind on the God position.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, but there's something to do to say that, right?
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, so if we think of it in terms of vision, what did God constantly do with Abraham?
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: He kept showing him pictures, kept showing him pictures, kept telling him, you know, I make you great, I make your name great, you're gonna have so many descendants, all of this stuff.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: What is he trying to do?
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: He wants his mind to be in the God position where he's filled with vision, with God's vision, who God called him to be, who God said he would be.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: Because what's the opposite?
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: Nothing is working.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: I've been believing God for a child, I haven't had a child yet, and God said I have descendants, but I don't have anybody.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: Neither the is of Damascus is gonna be he's gonna be my heir, dah dah, blah, blah, blah.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: God is like, that's the off position.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: It's off.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: It's off.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: And that thing that we allowed into our mind is gonna show up in our lives.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: He wants it on.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: On meaning, what when I think about my future, the picture I have of my future is the picture of what God showed me.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: Some of them are things he showed you specifically, some of them are things that he put in the word.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: Both of them are the will of God.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: So is that picture?
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Now, holding that picture is work, is hard work.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Because Satan works hard at offering you trash to think about.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: He constantly puts things in front of you, trying to get you to get your mind off the God position.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: Like we don't need it in the God position, we need it in the Satan position so that he can have his way and do whatever he wants to do in your life.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: So I know with this particular one, I probably sound like a broken record, but please hear me.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: I will probably say this till the day I die.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: We need to work on our minds.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: We need to control our minds.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: We need to have our minds governed by the word of God.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: We need to be vigilant, watchful, guarding over our minds.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: We need to audit what we are thinking, and we need to constantly put in the reps of holding, holding what God said as our predominant thoughts.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: It is work to do that.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: It is work to meditate on a scripture till it takes.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: It is work to think in line of God's will till it takes.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: It is work to create a vision board and look at it every day.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: It is work.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: It is work.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: But if you don't do the work, your mind stays in the Satan position.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: And the Bible says, guard your heart with all diligence, for it controls the outcome of your life, it determines the course of your life.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: And if it's in the Satan position, then it's the will of Satan that is done in your life, even though you're a believer.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: We can't afford it.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: It's too expensive.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: But you see, you can't casually have a mind governed by the word of God.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Because you have to, I you have to stop and think, what are the thoughts in my mind that don't line up the word of God with the word of God?
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: Then you have to go look for the scriptures that are the antidotes for the thinking that you have.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: Then you have to start memorizing them, and you have to start saying them out of your mouth, and then you have to start painting pictures with them.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: And Satan comes back, he gives you picture, whether through the news or through social media, or through a friend, or remind you of things in the past, and you have to take the word again and throw down that thought and take the word and replace that thought and sit at it.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: And the more you do it, the better you get at it, the more you do it, the better you get at it.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: But guess how long you're gonna have to do this for?
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: For as long as you live.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: And if we say, ah, that is too much work, remember, remember, there is pain, quote unquote, regardless.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: There's the pain of meditating on the scripture until, and there's the pain of reaping the reward of an undisciplined mind.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: It's both pain, but I promise you, the pain of reaping the reward of an undisciplined mind is so much more than the pain of disciplining your mind with the word of God.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: So choose your pain, choose your hurt, choose your heart, choose it because one way or another is there.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: My husband said this, but there is a quote.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know who who the quote is from, but it says the price for freedom is eternal vigilance.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: You see, the Bible says, watch your mind with all vigilance.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: It's eternal vigilance, eternal vigilance, watching, watching.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: Is this the word of God?
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Is this in line with the word of God?
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: Am I donating my mind to Satan by choosing to think about this thing?
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Or am I donating my mind to God by choosing to think about?
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: Every time you think about failure, about defeat, about things not working, rehearsing and rehearsing mistakes and failures you've had in the past, and on and on, what you're doing is you're donating your mind to Satan.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: That's what you're doing.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: Because when you make a mistake in God and you repent, and all God is like, Let's go, let's go.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Like He's like, We got places to be.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: I didn't change my mind about you.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: Your calling and your giftings are without repentance.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: Let us go.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: Look at all that like Moses killed a man, right?
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: And when God came to God, it's like, let's go.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: David killed a man, and he got, you know, there are consequences on that.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: But after that, he's like, let's go.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: God is like, let's go.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: You have a whole destiny to accomplish.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: So when you're brooding on the past, two days you're brooding on the past, deciding, oh, I'm so depressed about my past.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna do some retail therapy and I'm gonna turn out all the lights, I'm gonna do a Netflix binge and all that.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: That's just you saying, you know what, I want to dedicate this weekend to Satan and just let him do what he wants to do with my mind.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we don't do that no more.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: We don't do that no more.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we're people who work hard on our minds.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, God made you his image and in his likeness, and like you, he loves seeing his children become.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Make God proud, put a smile on his face.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: I'm not trying to say this, oh, you're not making God proud.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: That's not what I'm saying.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: But every parent is looking for their kid to go out and kill something and drag it home.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: He wants you to be victorious, he wants you to win.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: So let's work with him.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, number three.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: Number three.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: So we talked about the spirit, we talked about the mind.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we're working hard on our spirits, on our minds, and on our assignments.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, let me read some scriptures here.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Proverbs chapter 13, verse 4.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: Okay, we're gonna start from there.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: I'm pulling up on my phone because I want to read it in multiple translations.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: This, what I'm about to read to you, is the scriptures, it's the holy word of God that cannot be written, cannot be broken, written by your father who loves you and wants you to have the blueprints you can use to succeed in every aspect of your life.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, the word of God that cannot be broken.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: Pay attention.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, Proverbs chapter 13, verse 4.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Pay attention.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: New living translation.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: Lazy people want much.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: They have the vision, right?
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: It's like we talked about working on your mind.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: You have the vision of the preferred future where God is taking to you, and all the things they want much, but get little.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: They want much, they have big plans, they have big goals, they get little.
- 38:28SPEAKER_01: Why do they get little?
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: They get little because they're lazy.
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, but those who work hard will prosper.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: Ha okay.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: Um the new international version, a sluggard, another word for lazy, a sluggard's appetite is never filled.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: They have the appetite, they have the desire, they have all of this, never filled.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: But the desire of the diligents are fully satisfied.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: I want you to think about this.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: You at your 90th birthday party, and you've been a hard worker, not toiling, but hard work, because hard work is not a curse.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: And you've been doing all these things, and you're you're you're sharing about your life, and you sit and you think about your life.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: I'm fully satisfied.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: Like Abraham, what does the Bible say about him?
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: And God had blessed him.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: That he was he was he was advanced in age.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: This is Genesis 24, 1.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: And God had blessed him in all things.
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: Abraham was fully satisfied, but that fully satisfied is reserved for people who work hard.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: The sluggard, the slothful, the lazy, never gonna see that.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, now let me read it in one more translation.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Let's see which one we read.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: Ah, this is so good.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: This is the Amplified Bible.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: The soul, the appetite of the lazy person craves and gets nothing.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: For lethargy overcomes ambition, but the soul or appetite of the diligence who works willingness is rich and abundantly supplied.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: I have one more scripture to read for you.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: Woo wee.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: Okay, Proverbs chapter 21, verse 25.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: Look at this.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, NLT.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: It says, despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin, for their hands refuse to work.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: If your hands refuse to work, you can have the desire, you'll come to ruin.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: God forbid, not for anybody here.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: Um, amplified Bible, the desire of the lazy kills him, for his hands refuse to labor, refuse to labor.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: So I must labor.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: Labor is not a curse.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: Now I'm gonna bring this all the way home.
- 41:03SPEAKER_00: Now, in today, when we did a rise and shine, after so we prayed about the week, we spoke over the week, then we did our board meeting with God, so we did our planning for the week.
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: And after that, if you guys remember, those of you who are on, I was like, now it's going, it's time to go do something.
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: Eat a frog, take big action, take massive action, go do stuff.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: Now, a frog refers to a high stakes, high value activity, which people typically procrastinate on, that moves the needle the most for your goals, right?
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, so who ate a frog?
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: I want to celebrate frog eaters, and then I'm gonna give you five examples real quick.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, so let me give you examples so that we don't leave this in the sky, okay?
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: Because now we're gonna bring it down to earth.
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: Now, does this mean don't do the spiritual?
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: Notice what I said, notice what I said.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: Multi-dimensional hard work.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: So the fact that you pray a lot doesn't mean you get to not work on your business, business person.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: The fact that you meditate in the word a lot, right?
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: And you have your mind governed doesn't mean you can skip your prayer.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: Like this is multi-dimensional.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: All of these things must be happening.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 42:09SPEAKER_00: For instance, you run a business.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Let me help you.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: You run a business, your frogs look like selling.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: But this is the thing that most business owners would do anything but.
- 42:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, they would rather revamp their website, redo their business plan, choose new paints for their office, right?
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: And all of those things rather than sell.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: But what is the thing that actually makes the dollars come into the business?
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: Selling.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: They would rather, you know, play on Canva and create uh social media posts.
- 42:40SPEAKER_00: They would rather do that than talk to a human being and sell.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: Rather do that than talk to a human being and ask for a referral.
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: They would rather do all those other things than talk to a team member.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: You have a team member, they're there, they're already on your payroll.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: Like, oh my goodness.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: Like, lead them in such a way that they can help you serve and they can help you earn.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: Help them do that.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 43:06SPEAKER_00: Do that.
- 43:07SPEAKER_00: These are frogs in our businesses, difficult conversations.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: You need to fire somebody.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: You need to fire somebody that's a frog.
- 43:14SPEAKER_00: And you must eat it quickly because this is what happens.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: When you allow people who are underperforming, stay in your company, you create a con you create a condition called sanctioned incompetence.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: And no high flyer stays in an environment where everybody gets a trophy, no matter how they play.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: This is not the little league.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: If you want to, if you want a championship level team, then you reward competence and punish incompetence.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: And when I say punish, I don't, you know, I don't mean it in a vindictive way, but there has to be consequences.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: Yes?
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: Another example you're a student.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: You're a student and you're working on the dorm and you're working on Registering your classes and you do you need to read, you need to read a lot, and the more in the more um high stakes your degree is, the more reading you need to do.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: When I was a medical student, I had to do a truckload of reading.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: And no matter how you convince yourself, oh, I didn't have the time or what's going on with me, it doesn't matter.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Because at the end of the day, you're gonna have not a result, not the results you want.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: So you need to read, you need to collaborate with other people who are a players too.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, I don't like talking to people.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Walk with the wise and become wise.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: From now on, you do talk to people, eat the frog, make friends with the people who are the top of the class.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: Because if you walk with people who are at the top of the class, you become top of the class too, according to Proverbs 13:20.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: You're in ministry, but you don't like talking to people.
- 44:56SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you, if you Jesus didn't escape it, the Bible says that Jesus went to all the cities and all the villages and all the towns and spoke in all the synagogues.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: So if Jesus went out, you don't get to stay in.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: That is a frog.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: You must eat, and you must eat it regularly.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: You must talk to people, you must pay the price for the anointing, you must pray and download wisdom from God.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: You must, must, must.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: These are frogs that must be eaten.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: And you know, let me let me use one.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: This would probably help you.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: Like you, you have you're you're in a marriage, and it's somewhat rocky.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: It's okay, but it because it could be so much better.
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: You run diagnostics, is the way I talk, but I've always talked this way.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: No, you're gonna have to learn a new way of talking, you're gonna have to learn that.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have to eat that frog, meaning I want to simmer something, but I ain't gonna say nothing because what is about to come out of my mouth is not the product of a renewed mind.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: It's not the product, it's not the product of a renewed mind.
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: Do you see what I'm saying?
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: Like, so so your frog becomes until you can say something from a renewed mind.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: You're like, oh, and God has started talking to you about, you know, like, oh, I need you to have a peak performance body to do the assignment.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: I've called you to say you're gonna have to watch what you eat, you're gonna have to start moving your body and all of that.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: And this is what we do.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: This is the lazy version, dressed up as hard work.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: Then we go and we start researching gyms, and we go and we start shopping for the best shoes that are walking shoes, and then we start looking for outfits that we can wear, um, you know, to go do this workout, and we get cute water bottles, and we're doing all of these things.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: But we haven't we haven't changed what we're eating.
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: We you can just literally put your shoes on and walk out the door and take a walk, and boom, it's done.
- 47:13SPEAKER_00: That is the frog.
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: Eat the frog already.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: When you're done, go shopping.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: Do you guys see?
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: It's a way of thinking.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: What is the thing that moves the needle?
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: That's what we need to do, and we need to work hard at it.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: We need to work hard at it.
- 47:29SPEAKER_00: And we work hard at production and we work hard at distribution.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: Let me give you an example.
- 47:34SPEAKER_00: So we just um, so I wrote a book, it's called the Profitable Private Practice Playbook.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: I'm just talking about it because that's a project we're working on now.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: And we decided, you know, we were going to um we're going to build a new lead magnet, if you will, for it, right?
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: So we're going to build a new calculator.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: So we have this calculator that we built.
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: So people, the book is about seven ways private practice owners leave money on the table every single day and how to fix it.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: So we did the work of creating that calculator, right?
- 48:06SPEAKER_00: So people can go in there, see potentially how much money they're leaving on the table that will motivate them to start working on their practices, make it better, more successful, all of that stuff.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: That's the build.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: Most entrepreneurs, ministers, authors, anybody is so interested in the build.
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: Like many people wouldn't do the build, but they do the build, they do the build and stop there.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you what I told my team member today.
- 48:27SPEAKER_00: I said, Today is a build-a-thon.
- 48:30SPEAKER_00: From tomorrow, it's a sell-a-thon.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: Because the fact that you built it doesn't mean anybody will buy it.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: And if you will not eat the frog of selling every day, dear entrepreneur, author, minister, whatever, you're just not going to have people say yes.
- 48:43SPEAKER_00: This is the vehicle that allows people to say yes.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: If Jesus had to tell people, come follow me, and I'll make you disciples, guess what you have to do?
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: You have to tell people, come follow me.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Because if Jesus, our model, was never so anointed that he could escape that, guess what we can't do?
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: We can't escape it.
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: We can't escape it.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: So the sooner we tell ourselves the truth and start eating the frogs, the sooner we can make progress.
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: I'm saying this because I want you, I want every single week for you to take your destiny, partner with God, link up arms with God, take your destiny and push it forward every single week.
- 49:25SPEAKER_00: Like self, this week we're moving forward.
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: We are okay.
- 49:30SPEAKER_00: So you see it multi-dimensional hard work, hard work in our spiritual walk, hard work on our mind, hard work on our assignment.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: If any one of these is missing, we forfeit greatness.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: If any one of these is missing, we give up greatness.
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: If you have the spiritual, but you don't, you're not working on your assignment, you have the anointing, you have ideas, you have downloads, you won't see any progress.
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: If you say, Oh, I'm just gonna work hard, I'm not gonna do the spiritual stuff, then you won't have the you won't have the oil that greases the engine.
- 50:04SPEAKER_00: So it's constantly like you're you're an engine with no oil in it and you're not going anywhere.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: Multi-dimensional hard work.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: When when you look at me praying, you'll be like, Wow, she do a whole lot of prayer.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: You won't expect me to work on the mind on my mind the way I do, but I will.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: You won't expect me to work on my assignment the way I do, but I will.
- 50:27SPEAKER_00: Multi-dimensional hard work.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: All right, where are my people who want to make the word of God true in their life?
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: God said you're the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, right?
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: That's what he said about you.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: He said, I will bless you.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: He said you're the light of the world, he said you're the salt of the earth.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: He said you're a king and a priest, and you reign in the earth.
- 50:46SPEAKER_00: Where are you?
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: Because if that is you, this is what is required.
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: So will you say yes or not?
- 50:52SPEAKER_00: You're saying yes to the call.
- 50:53SPEAKER_00: What is the call?
- 50:54SPEAKER_00: The call to greatness God always gave you.
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: But now you're saying yes, and that yes means I'm committed to multidimensional hard work.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: I am committed to multidimensional hard work.
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: I will work hard on my spiritual life.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: Like when you see me praying, you think I'm that all my results are based on praying.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: You see me working on my mind, you think, oh my goodness, all her results must be based on working on mine.
- 51:14SPEAKER_00: You see me working hard on my assignment, be like, oh my goodness, it must be no, it's all of them put together.
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: So it doesn't matter where you start from.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: If you will just start, you will find yourself becoming everything God called you to be.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: It will blow your mind.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: Like it will blow your like you're like, how did I become this person?
- 51:36SPEAKER_00: Just do it.
- 51:38SPEAKER_00: It will change everything for you.
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: It will change everything for you.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: Everything.
- 51:45SPEAKER_00: So start today.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, so if you're not subscribed here, you subscribe.
- 51:50SPEAKER_00: We come here, we work on our minds.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: That's what just happened to us right now.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: You come on the rise and shine, we work on the spirit and we work on the mind.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: Okay, and you'll get the strategies you need to work on your assignment.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: And you keep going and going and going.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, if this has helped you in any way, I would love for you to join the movement and share this episode with your friends, family, and the Christians in your world.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: By doing this simple thing, you could be changing the trajectory of someone's lives, their family, and their community.
- 52:20SPEAKER_00: That makes you a world changer and they will love you forever.
