- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a.
- 0:14Podcast. To teach distinctions,
- 0:17possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some
- 0:20joy. Into the world.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good early early
- 0:30morning from the porch. So today our boy Beaufort has to
- 0:34go out and have surgery on a little tiny skin tag.
- 0:40That turned into a problem because he caught it running
- 0:44along the fence between the farms with our neighbor's dog
- 0:48and it got ripped open and then it started to bleed inside of
- 0:53his leg. So he is going to have surgery
- 0:57on them today. And here's the crazy part about
- 1:00this. It coincided the same incident
- 1:04that caused that late last week. And he saw the vet on Friday for
- 1:10all of this. And then the vet said, you know,
- 1:13we have to take care of it before anything else.
- 1:15So I love it when this happens because he also hurt his ear and
- 1:21he's got a hematoma inside of his ear, in the floppy part of
- 1:25his ear. It's it looks like a balloon and
- 1:27it's filled with blood at the same time.
- 1:29So and he said that's like, oh, and because he was, you know,
- 1:36itching at it and made it worse. And then it turns out that
- 1:40because he keeps going in the pond, he's got a yeast infection
- 1:43inside of his ears. And all of this happened like,
- 1:46you know, 123 right in a row, right over the course of the
- 1:50same few days. And I any the fence fighting
- 1:53took place. The ironically, I had the
- 1:56appointment for his regular vet visit and it took place the day
- 2:02before the regular vet visit. So he was supposed to go on
- 2:04Friday, Thursday, all these things happen and boom, here we
- 2:08are. So what's the point of giving
- 2:11you all this information? Two things.
- 2:13One, I this little skin tag was small and I said I think I
- 2:19should take them right away. And my husband was like, well
- 2:22you know what, let's watch it and see.
- 2:23Sometimes they just disappear and I was like, I don't know.
- 2:27And I didn't listen and I should have listened to my instincts.
- 2:31So for all of us, this is a lesson again about like when
- 2:35something is niggling at you, when you know it's there, you
- 2:38should deal with it. Because if you don't deal with
- 2:40it when it's small, it could, you could be dealing with
- 2:43something when it's big. Second, it's an important thing
- 2:47to recognize that when you're out of your routine, you never
- 2:51things get weird. So in our morning, I can't give
- 2:54him any food. This morning I can't give him
- 2:56any water because he's got to have this little surgery done
- 2:59and he is so upset at me because we're not doing our normal
- 3:03routine and he can't have his breakfast and he can't have his
- 3:06snack when he comes in the door. And he's looking at me like he's
- 3:08massively depressed about it and I'm feeling out of sorts because
- 3:13it's not our normal routine and it's so funny how routines and
- 3:18all of these little things make us have our feel good about our
- 3:23day. So then I'm looking at him and
- 3:25I'm nervous because he's looking at me and I'm not giving him
- 3:27something and he's getting annoyed and we just keep going
- 3:30back and forth. So the point of today, the whole
- 3:33point of this is to not drone on and on about what happened to
- 3:36the dog. It's to say all these little
- 3:39lessons can come out of this everyday stuff.
- 3:41And so I recognize how important the morning routine is.
- 3:45And for some of us, it feels like, again, another day doing
- 3:49the same thing. But yes, a blessing of another
- 3:52day getting to do the same thing, another day getting to do
- 3:56the same thing. And that is awesome.
- 3:59When you feel like you, you, you recognize it from a stand back,
- 4:04stand back and look at it from a place of appreciation.
- 4:07So I'm going to go back in and I'm going to appreciate this and
- 4:11I'm going to get him ready to leave here, even though it's, I
- 4:16don't know right now, 4:45 in the morning as I'm recording on
- 4:20the porch. But I'm going to get him ready
- 4:22to go and have to have him there very early, 7:00 AM so they can
- 4:27get him prepped and ready to go and wishes well today.
- 4:32And be grateful for all the little things you have, my
- 4:34friends, because it makes a massive difference.
- 4:36And take care of that stuff. All right, I hope you have a
- 4:40blessed day, everybody. I'll see you tomorrow.
- 4:42Bye.
