- 1:05Thanks for being back. I'm hanging out.
- 1:07It's Thursday night. It's time to do all the.
- 1:09Stuff pop of the liquid. Death.
- 1:15Bury it alive. One of the last.
- 1:17Few of these in existence. I'm super stoked to have one.
- 1:23How's everybody doing? As usual, the best experience
- 1:26for this show is YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch.
- 1:34I'm also hanging out on TikTok if you guys want to join in the
- 1:37conversation. I will be dropping the tip menu
- 1:40soon if you want to feel tipsy and give us a tip workspace a
- 1:45little cluttered here today, that's better.
- 1:47So I have a whole mess of shit here, but yeah, good to see you
- 1:52all. Glad to be back.
- 1:54This is our weekly show. This is what we do, why we do,
- 1:57how we do it. So let me send a quick post
- 2:00around. We'll do the damn thing.
- 2:11How's everybody doing? What is on your mind?
- 2:13The holidays are fast approaching and it is wild, Wild
- 2:19times, wild times in the world. Just absolute madness sometimes.
- 2:25But yeah, we're doing the thing. Feel free to hang out, live and
- 2:31do the. Show all right.
- 2:40Phil Witz is here. What's up, Phil?
- 2:42Rubber band man, Welcome back. Thanks for all the support.
- 2:44Yesterday and hanging out and being part of that.
- 2:46Conversation yesterday, that was a lot of fun on the Glacier
- 2:48Musical board. Cast live.
- 2:51Let's get on with the show. We do all the things.
- 2:55It's kind of. Cool, I love that Instagram now
- 2:57has the correct view. At least you know the correct
- 3:01orientation. It surely is makes.
- 3:04Things a little easier. Joey Marquez is also here.
- 3:07What's up Joey? Good to see you.
- 3:09So yeah, just a little programming note.
- 3:12So we go live usually on Thursdays and then I consider it
- 3:15the weekend show next week with the holiday.
- 3:19I'm going to go live on Wednesday.
- 3:21I'm sure people are travelling, peeling off, getting out of work
- 3:25early, but I'm going to go live Wednesday afternoon on the early
- 3:30side, not go live on Thursday or Friday.
- 3:33I am going to do. Trying to do record still day,
- 3:36Black Friday, so I might make some social posts.
- 3:38They'll be, you know, they'll be posts on Thanksgiving Day.
- 3:41We, you know, we have a whole crew in Europe that operates,
- 3:44you know, it's not a holiday for them.
- 3:46So we'll probably have some light news and some social posts
- 3:49that whole weekend, but I'm probably going to low key it
- 3:51spend with my girlfriend's family and it's been a time.
- 3:56In life, so I certainly have earned some time off.
- 4:03Jay Outlaws here. What's up, Jay?
- 4:05Welcome back. You know, super fun time.
- 4:07Listen to this auth interview. Thank you.
- 4:08Great band. Really great band.
- 4:11Thanks so much, man. Rubber Band, man.
- 4:12Again, I said this last week, we don't get a lot of validation.
- 4:16I don't, you know, I do this because I played in bands for a
- 4:19long time. I love music.
- 4:20I love metal. And you know the number one
- 4:25thing for me? Is to keep supporting and
- 4:27uplifting bands. To do that, I have to sometimes
- 4:29write about bands I don't care for.
- 4:32That are kind of mainstreamy and not for me there's plenty of
- 4:34mainstream games I also do love but you know I think it's
- 4:38important to you know be in this for the right reasons it's
- 4:44certainly not to get rich it's because I love it that's why I'm
- 4:47so driven that's why I do what I do like minded people that have
- 4:50come to us are the same just like us they do what they do for
- 4:55the same reason so that's why we have a staff of all you know we.
- 4:58Started. All over the world.
- 5:02And yeah, doing the thing I texted my partner instead of
- 5:11sending it to a group. Forward works bro.
- 5:20Anyway. Anyway, so that's why I do what
- 5:24I do. Thanks so much, Robert.
- 5:25Man, I really. Appreciate it.
- 5:26Anybody that kind of digs what we do, I'm just very thankful to
- 5:30do, to be in a position to do what I do.
- 5:33Again, my life is kind of like Almost Famous, the movie.
- 5:36You never make a lot of money, but you get free records from
- 5:38the record companies, and you might.
- 5:40Get a little bit of. Access that sometimes might make
- 5:43you feel good. You know which.
- 5:46You know I'm. I'm all for.
- 5:49Anywho, moving along, let's do the announcements.
- 5:52We always start with the announcements.
- 5:53Going to keep it brief this week because there are other things
- 5:55to do. Today is the Transgender Day of
- 5:59Remembrance. I have many.
- 6:00I live in San Francisco. I have a ton of friends in the
- 6:03trans community. And I don't ever let this day go
- 6:07by without, you know, a sincere, you know, appreciation of the
- 6:11struggle and support of all my friends and friends that we've
- 6:15lost as a result of, you know, just.
- 6:18Trying to live and exist and be alive and be themselves.
- 6:22And if this kind of offends you or you know, you have some
- 6:26fucking take on this, it's not to me.
- 6:30Nobody who's living their life, their best life as a trans
- 6:33person is hurting your heteronormative life.
- 6:36And you can get. Fucked.
- 6:38But anyway, almost made it to 7 minutes without saying that
- 6:42word. Not a whole lot on the death
- 6:46notices today, but I did want to mention.
- 6:48That Mark Greenberg, who was the long time drummer of.
- 6:56Dickie Betts, formerly of The Allman Brothers and his band
- 6:59Great Southern. He passed away.
- 7:01I know he's been unwell for a long time.
- 7:03Apparently really sucks. A really well liked and loved
- 7:07person. So yeah.
- 7:15So yeah, good times, good times. Sad that he passed away but I
- 7:21just wanted to. Bring that to your attention.
- 7:22I don't think a lot of people are talking about this folks.
- 7:26Anywho, we are running a brand new giveaway.
- 7:30If you are in the tri-state area or will be in the tri-state area
- 7:35in early December you can win tickets to see.
- 7:38God forbid one pair of tickets. We are homies with them.
- 7:42My the co-owner of Ghost Call. Omar is the drum tech for Corey.
- 7:47Corey Pierce and God Forbid put together this like Titans of
- 7:52metal Cord mini tour where each band is going to headline a
- 7:56show. So God Forbid is headlining
- 7:58Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Monarch.
- 8:00Darkest Hour is headlining I believe in their home base of
- 8:05Richmond, VA or near the DC area and then bleeding.
- 8:09Through his headlining a show I think square in the southeast.
- 8:12So pretty fucking rad. Nora is also on this show.
- 8:15In Brooklyn, just absolutely beast mode show.
- 8:18We'll probably be covering the tour.
- 8:20The show also in the tour, somewhere you can enter to win.
- 8:24You know, rubber band man when you're done watching this.
- 8:26Live stream. It's one of our top posts on
- 8:29IGI. Should go tap, you know, pin it.
- 8:33Just one month, you know. Happy birthday to Kirk Hammett,
- 8:37who turned 63 yesterday, or actually Tuesday the 18th.
- 8:42You know Metallica loves November, so kicking off our
- 8:45little segment on Metal History. Albums released this week in
- 8:48metal include two Metallica albums, the comeback second to
- 8:52come back album of their last three, Hardwired to Self
- 8:55Destruct. Pretty great, no clipping or
- 8:58shitty production problems, and pretty great songwriting
- 9:02overall. Kind of led us to the era we're
- 9:05in now with 72 seasons going on its fourth year of touring.
- 9:09And the much maligned and deservedly so, reload.
- 9:13You know there's a load and reload box set right now.
- 9:17Wait to see what else Metallica has up their sleeve.
- 9:19They just finished their tour in New Zealand and Australia with
- 9:23Evanescence and I think they have one more.
- 9:26Show in Dubai for the Middle East somewhere and then they're.
- 9:29Kind of done for the year unless they do a surprise.
- 9:31Thing I haven't heard if they're doing.
- 9:33Their charity show this year or not, It's kind of late to
- 9:35announce it if they are. Other bands celebrating an album
- 9:40anniversary this past week include a specs.
- 9:42This is a killer death metal album.
- 9:44Slayer live undead Slayer Slayer live album Pretty much like a
- 9:49Slayer any other album. But you know, still pretty damn
- 9:52cool. Let's see, I'm back making sure
- 9:57the tik tokers are still watching me.
- 9:59Good to see you also also. Dark Tranquility This was a
- 10:03solid 1 from a while back. Now Corn Issues, Is anybody old
- 10:08enough to remember when Issues came out from corn and they did
- 10:11a fan contest for the album cover and this was the winner
- 10:15and they went? With this and then they put out
- 10:16these like plushy beat up dolls with the one button I and what
- 10:19I'm missing. I'd love to get one of those if
- 10:22anyone can find them for not running a leg on eBay or
- 10:25something. But yeah, strange confession.
- 10:29I have a strange amount of plushies and.
- 10:34Toys and things of the music. Realm including I have this one
- 10:38of my most treasured actually. Here's a corn.
- 10:40I think this was for. One of the more recent.
- 10:44Corn albums. This is like a corn stress ball
- 10:48that you squeeze and it's also in the shape of the hand
- 10:50covering the face. And then here's just a cool
- 10:52Funko of me that my friends made me look at me without the hats.
- 10:56Bald beard microphone. Beer can.
- 10:59I don't try too much beer anymore unfortunately, but
- 11:01anyway. I have an abundance of these
- 11:03things. Tell me who else is out there
- 11:05collecting toys and stuff and gadgets and things.
- 11:09Another album. This is probably going to be the
- 11:11very last good album by Obscura because.
- 11:15Stefan is kind of screwed the. Pooch on this band also Amana
- 11:19Marth. This was a pretty bad ass album
- 11:21from. 23 years ago, cavalier conspiracy, psychosis.
- 11:26You know, it's kind of interesting that they kind of
- 11:28transformed into the kind of hits of Sepultura with the
- 11:31Cavallera brothers obviously re recording the classic, the early
- 11:35sepulturals that are poorly produced.
- 11:37You know, they were meant to be poorly produced, death and black
- 11:39metal, black and death metal. But I really like the Cavallera
- 11:43conspiracy records and I kind of want them to come back and.
- 11:46Play some of that material again.
- 11:48But this is a pretty. Solid record that might have got
- 11:50overlooked. This is a 2017 psychosis.
- 11:53Pretty good record once again let me drop the tip menu.
- 11:56If you guys feel are feeling tipsy we could always use some
- 12:00support obviously you can get to be a real 1.
- 12:03You can just give us a general tip for three bucks you can buy
- 12:07us a coffee on coffee. We take Venmo, we take PayPal,
- 12:09we take Cash App, all the. Things.
- 12:16But yeah, do all the things. Let's see.
- 12:23Let's see what else? What else?
- 12:24What else? What else?
- 12:25What else? There's our Cash App, in case
- 12:29you're curious. All right, this is pretty
- 12:33amazing. I'm not the most, like,
- 12:35jingoistic, patriotic person ever, but I love this thing.
- 12:37I found this on the Internet. Remember when 911 happened,
- 12:41Steve Buscemi went down. He used to be a fireman right
- 12:44before he made it as an actor. And even there were years when
- 12:46he was already a working actor in movies and he didn't do too
- 12:50well. So in between working, he bought
- 12:53he was a fireman. At his, you know, down in the
- 12:57West Village, he literally. Put on his uniform and
- 13:01volunteered to work like a week or two of 12 hour strip shifts
- 13:06searching through the rubble of the towers in 911 as a fireman.
- 13:11He never asked for credit for it.
- 13:13He never told people to, you know, bow and genuflect him.
- 13:17He just served his country. And serve this community, which
- 13:20is an absolute baller thing to do.
- 13:23That's actual patriotism. Not like wearing a pen or being
- 13:26a fascist or anything. Just saying.
- 13:32I'm just saying we can even more Steve Rossini's all right.
- 13:36Features this week at Ghost Call and I'll try to whip.
- 13:38Through this quickly. Every Monday we've been going
- 13:42live for a short live stream every Monday to announce more
- 13:44bands for the Mojave Experience. The last two bands will be
- 13:48revealed this Monday along with two last bands and the full
- 13:53poster I believe is coming right after this.
- 13:55Tickets are on sale now. It's going to be about 1000
- 13:59people at Joshua Tree, March 20th and 21st, An insanely sick
- 14:03lineup of bands already, and we're going to do more
- 14:06integrations and things with this festival as we get closer
- 14:09and I am going. To cover the festival, possibly
- 14:11with a little team from Ghost Cult.
- 14:13So I'm really excited about it. I did a live stream the other
- 14:16day reviewing the lineups of Hellfest in Rockville.
- 14:21If you like this kind of content, let me know, I'll do
- 14:24more of it. I probably will do at least one
- 14:27live stream next week, possibly two.
- 14:30I am unsure. We shall see at least one on
- 14:36something else. I have some good ideas already
- 14:38ran our new interview with Chuck Billy of testament.
- 14:40I've been very lucky to interview Chuck Billy multiple
- 14:43times in my career. Brand New Testament album Param
- 14:45Bellum is out now and great album.
- 14:48Great interview with Chuck. I caught Chuck right after he
- 14:52hit eighteen holes on the golf course in in the Bay Area near
- 14:56where I live and we got talking on a Saturday afternoon and
- 15:00Chuck is just wonderful man and testament.
- 15:02This is one of. Their best records, I got to be
- 15:04honest with you. It's so strong and so killer
- 15:07thrash, progressive thrash, blackened thrash metal, a little
- 15:11bit of death metal. Kind of reminds me a lot of
- 15:13Demonic. If you remember that record and
- 15:16the gathering like vibes of the Gathering, which was killer.
- 15:20Paradise Lost interview ran earlier in the week.
- 15:22My new interview with Nick Holmes.
- 15:24We talked about their whole career, their new album
- 15:26Ascension, also a Nuclear. Blast record, just like
- 15:28Testament. Record and talk to Nick about
- 15:30Bloodbath and other and his lyrics and and other things.
- 15:34Thanks so much man. Rubber Band man, I appreciate
- 15:36you. And also just from last week, in
- 15:38case you missed it, we've had big interviews recently with
- 15:41Soulfly and Type O Negative guys and and so many killer evoking
- 15:46so many killer metal interviews and some punk ones too.
- 15:50And we have a whole bunch of stuff coming up still.
- 15:51Before the end of the year, a. Whole bunch of new interviews,
- 15:54so stay tuned for more stuff and not just my face.
- 15:57You're going to see other people popping up in there.
- 15:59That help out with the interviews too, including my.
- 16:01Partner Omar Also just recently exclusive to our podcast,
- 16:06wherever you listen to podcasts, I interviewed James Kent of
- 16:08Pertubator. He's French, lives in England
- 16:12and he makes basically synthwave inspired by Black.
- 16:15Metal and his new albums. Banger Age of Aquarius and
- 16:20really fantastic stuff. Also recently interviewed my
- 16:23colleague at ghostcultman.com and the Glacial Musical, Don de
- 16:26Lamont. His new album Dancing on My
- 16:28Father's Grave and Other Stories is out now.
- 16:30He's got a single on there. The Hearst they wrote in on
- 16:33featuring Marissa Nadler, who is the incredible dark folk and
- 16:37Americano artist. So I'm really proud of my buddy
- 16:39Don. And in addition to that, Don and
- 16:41I are the Co hosts of the Glacial Musical podcast.
- 16:44We did the live stream yesterday.
- 16:45You were part of Rubber Band Man.
- 16:47And yeah, we did Glacially musical.
- 16:49This is a new image by Don. We're still trying to get a sort
- 16:54of stand alone image for these other pods, but we, Nick, our
- 16:58host, got the new David Gilmour live album box set, the concerts
- 17:03for the Luck and Strange album. Don actually went to one of
- 17:07them. I couldn't get to go.
- 17:08It was last fall. And so now this live album box
- 17:11set is out, Nick unboxes it goes through the whole thing, and
- 17:14then we deep dive the setlist. We compare it to other Dave
- 17:17Gilmore live albums, compare it to other members of Pink Floyd
- 17:21and their live stuff, as well as past albums and live thing live
- 17:26sets by Floyd and David and what the future is for David if he's
- 17:29going to actually follow through.
- 17:31It seems like he's working on another new album right now.
- 17:35All right, that's all that I will put myself back on the
- 17:38screen. Hello, I'm back.
- 17:40Hello from the gutter. All right, we always start the
- 17:44news rundown with metal festivals so real fast.
- 17:48Let's go through some metal festivals that got announced
- 17:50this week. Well, I know the metal meeting
- 17:52is coming up in a few weeks. We are looking to cover it again
- 17:56in the ancestral home of ghosts called Tilburg in the
- 18:00Netherlands. Right near about an hour and a
- 18:02half South of Tilburg is where we were founded.
- 18:06It's the home of Roadburn. Eindhoven is obviously Eindhoven
- 18:09Metal meeting is in Eindhoven, a little a little West and a great
- 18:13country. I was very.
- 18:14Fortunate to go visit it. Go cover Roadburn.
- 18:17We still have many Dutchies as friends who we love so much.
- 18:21Eindhoven metal meeting is badass.
- 18:22Hell Fast is full of bangers. We talked about this on the live
- 18:26stream the other night. Pretty damn great line up.
- 18:29Hell Fest always does a great job.
- 18:30That is in Keisone, France, right outside of Paris.
- 18:34Also, Welcome to Rockville got announced.
- 18:37Not too many surprises. Not not surprises.
- 18:42That's not great English, but Rockville features Guns and
- 18:47Roses, Foo Fighters, My Cam was already announced and Bring Me
- 18:51the Horizon. Who are also.
- 18:52On Hellfest, they seem to be everywhere.
- 18:55Other big bands playing at Rockville include Turnstile, A
- 18:59Day to Remember in their Hometown, Ice 9 Kills, Lona
- 19:03Shore, Simple Plan, Slaughter to Prevail, Death Clogs, Zach
- 19:06Sabbath and Suicidal Tendencies, Cradle Of Filth, 7 Dust, Static
- 19:12X, and more. So it's a really great lineup.
- 19:14Danny Wilmer festivals always do a fantastic job of the festivals
- 19:19we still have to learn about. Incarceration is coming and I
- 19:23know Aftershock put out a video today recapping last year's
- 19:27Aftershock, so I think they're going to have some new stuff
- 19:30soon. The wine militias here on
- 19:32TikTok. What's up?
- 19:33The wine militia also download festival 3 exclusive UK
- 19:38headliners down to a four day. A three day festival from the
- 19:41four Limp Bizkit with a rare UK headline show.
- 19:45Guns N' Roses doing all over Europe next summer.
- 19:48Still waiting? We'll talk about them for a Guns
- 19:50N' Roses U.S. tour date announcement.
- 19:52I. Believe we're getting one
- 19:53finally. And then Linkin Park and a bunch
- 19:57of other games. So pretty killer.
- 19:59This looks amazing. I saw this.
- 20:01I was like holy cow this looks so good.
- 20:05This is Bangers open air in Brazil, the first show of the
- 20:10year for Fear Factory. They announced this, but here's
- 20:13your headliners Ginger, which I think is their first headline
- 20:17festival date ever in the world. Ginger in flames, Black Label
- 20:21Society and Killswitch Engage. Also, let's see Fear Factory
- 20:28Evergrade. Ever grey tankard and Within
- 20:33Temptation, Smith Cotton winger Emmeron Nevermore in one of
- 20:37their upcoming. So this is in April.
- 20:39This looks pretty damn great. I got to say.
- 20:42Big Ginger fan here. We'll see where their album does
- 20:44in our album of the year poll coming soon.
- 20:48This looks really cool. This is the, I mean not my
- 20:50preferred genre of music, the Hinterland Fest, but Katsai,
- 20:55Lord Mumford and Sons and Tally Yukes.
- 20:58MUNA is a great band. I've seen some of these artists
- 21:01at different festivals and even though you know, Wet Leg is
- 21:03awesome, so some porch light. Some of these are fun, fun
- 21:07artists. Maybe not your most metal thing
- 21:09ever in St. Charles, IA, which I think is
- 21:11like a resort town. It's like the resort part of
- 21:14Iowa. Let's see what else let's
- 21:21squeeze that can a little lighter.
- 21:23Not so tight ripple music again. I'm probably going to this in a
- 21:26couple of weeks. It bottom of the hill here in
- 21:28San Francisco Headline by Fireball Ministry and I fucking
- 21:32love that band so much. Lovers Fest.
- 21:36This also looks really cool. I was like, oh, this is kind of
- 21:40fun. This is a one day festival in
- 21:42Nashville by Silent Planet. Calloused Cowboys from joy,
- 21:47That's Klaw and Levi the Poet. They might add some more bands,
- 21:50but really cool. Like a one day.
- 21:52Not just the concert, but like a one day thing.
- 21:55It might be all ages too, I'm not sure.
- 21:57Kind of fun. Also also, Inferno Festival has
- 22:01added a bunch more bands for this spring in Norway, headlined
- 22:04by Mayhem, Deicide and Enslaved. Mayhem and Enslaved.
- 22:09Are two of my favorites. Deicide always solid.
- 22:11Their last record was great. Milwaukee Metal Fest has
- 22:16officially moved their weekend to June to get a specific
- 22:20headline or I believe announcements are going to
- 22:21happen very soon with pre sales soon.
- 22:27This also looked really fun. This is an all day festival.
- 22:32Do do do do do. This is balance and breakdowns.
- 22:38A very emo Avenida Guadalupe Association presents production
- 22:43in San Antonio February 7th, Norma Jean drop dead gorgeous
- 22:47reunited red jumpsuit apparatus unplugged being as an ocean
- 22:52great band have mercy. He is legend strawberry girls.
- 22:56I love the black metal logo by strawberry girls.
- 22:58Enthronement good terms sinking haunter Kauai AF.
- 23:06And a bunch of others. OK, not too shabby.
- 23:09Not too shabby. What else?
- 23:11What else? What else?
- 23:13Space Echo Festival, looks like we're going to be covering this.
- 23:15Also, just the first announcement was Killer Failure
- 23:19who? You know how much I love that
- 23:20band. And again, we just ran our
- 23:21interview with Ken Failure, Baroness, Trail of the Dead,
- 23:25Torch Shiner. I think that's Torch's first
- 23:28American show back since they reunited.
- 23:32And again, they're not going to, you know, do new new whole
- 23:35tours, but I think you might get to see them here and there.
- 23:38I really would love to see Torch again.
- 23:40All right, that's all the festivals.
- 23:41We'll have more next week on festivals.
- 23:44Now a quick rundown of some concerts that got announced.
- 23:47Deftones have announced Australia, New Zealand for for
- 23:53their brand new album Private Music again, all these big
- 23:57bands. We're going to see who reigns
- 23:59supreme for our album of the year.
- 24:01Our vote is coming soon. Our live stream will be coming
- 24:03in about two weeks with the whole cast of characters from
- 24:06Ghosts called very excited. More Deftones next year and
- 24:11maybe not a long break till the next record either because it
- 24:14seems like you know it only like maybe a two or three-year wait
- 24:16for another Deftones record. Angel Dust announced a massive
- 24:19tour along with a brand new album.
- 24:21They are taking a bunch of hardcore.
- 24:22Bands with them so. When you get these bands like
- 24:25Turnstile and Angel Dust and Scowl that kind of get bigger,
- 24:30they're still reaching back to the underground to bring bands
- 24:33with them like Jive Bomb and. Mind, force and things like
- 24:37that. So you know.
- 24:38Hardcore is having an absolute time.
- 24:40Right now, a whole moment. Again, the God forbid shows are
- 24:44coming up soon. My my buddy Omar Cordy made this
- 24:47reminiscent of public enemies. It takes a million a nation of
- 24:501,000,000 Great like the Public Enemy classic logo great great
- 24:54flyer he. Made here.
- 24:56God forbid Darkest Hour bleeding through a Nora.
- 25:00What A1234 again? More dates added to Iron Maiden.
- 25:03Still not Anthrax on the entire tour.
- 25:05Anthrax at the beginning and at the end I got to find out how I
- 25:07can get to see them. Ice 9 Kills is about to do their
- 25:10Silver Scream Con UK for the first time or second time and
- 25:14they have a mini UK tour coming up with Creeper and The Devil
- 25:19Wears Prada. We might.
- 25:20Try to cover that. Hit up one of my photos about
- 25:24this. This looks cool.
- 25:24Cotton culture is putting out cotton cultures from three 1G,
- 25:29Justin Pearson from Dead Cross and The Locust and a bunch of
- 25:31other bands. Planet B.
- 25:34Satanic Planet and that label rules and I often buy a lot of
- 25:37stuff from them and they have a podcast called Culture which you
- 25:41should listen to. And now they are having a record
- 25:44release party for their new record that's coming out.
- 25:46So this is kind of badass with some of those bands.
- 25:49Kindred in San Diego coming up soon.
- 25:53This is also cool. I love seeing the use of the old
- 25:55school flyer types coming out from bands.
- 25:58So this is Hellfest and Overcome Fest, Present Path of
- 26:01Resistance, Moral Law, Fading Signal 1 by 1, and End of your
- 26:04Rope. Saturday January 24th Doors at
- 26:07six, show at 7 at Chapel Hill, NC.
- 26:10So it's super cool to see these one off little shows popping up
- 26:15also Also this also looks great. Gosh, St.
- 26:20Brutality 2026 shattered around Co headlining with Death Before
- 26:24Dishonor. Oh, there's going to be a lot of
- 26:27teeth on the ground. After that show, Oh my God
- 26:30that's before. Dishonor is one of the best
- 26:32bands. Such a brutal band.
- 26:35I was trying to go to this tonight, but it's sold out.
- 26:37Roddy Bottom. I'm a huge faith and more fan
- 26:40and Roddy Bottom just put his memoir out the Royal We and he
- 26:45tonight is his final in person book signing and sort of book
- 26:50reading one-on-one panel at City lights, the infamous City
- 26:54lights. If you know who the beat poets
- 26:56are, City Lights is their their home base here in San Francisco.
- 26:59It's sold out quick. I have a book on order coming to
- 27:02me and yeah, looking forward to that.
- 27:06Could not go. To the Q&A.
- 27:08And Roddy again has answered, you know, sort of asserted that
- 27:11Faith No More is probably not coming back.
- 27:12Which totally blows. What are you going to do?
- 27:16Not much you can do. Small Bard is on tour right now.
- 27:19One of their last bunch of dates of their career.
- 27:22They are breaking up in 2026 and might have to go to Toronto for
- 27:26that Prepare the Ground festival to see them.
- 27:28I have never seen them. Killer blackened death metal
- 27:32band from the UK. Great band.
- 27:34I'm so bummed I. Have an interview on the channel
- 27:36with Serena Cherry. You might like to check out
- 27:38Rubber Band Man. Not only she's just brilliant,
- 27:41you know, she has a blog about roller coasters.
- 27:43She's gone to roller coasters all over the world.
- 27:45She writes a gaming column. She's a game enthusiast and
- 27:49tester and a journalist herself. Really great.
- 27:53Speaking of cancellations, Dogma has cancelled their entire or
- 27:58they've had to been their tour was cancelled without their, you
- 28:02know, anything. This situation is so convoluted
- 28:05and fucked up. I was going to do a live stream
- 28:07on it. I didn't see a lot of interest
- 28:08in it. But Dogma had their tour
- 28:12canceled by the promoter in Australia because basically
- 28:15since the album came out and the band started touring, the entire
- 28:19lineup has been run through by other, you know, wiped out by
- 28:22the manager. Guy, I think it's.
- 28:26Eric Deleo. And they're like, we want to
- 28:30bring you the band you paid to go see, not some other band of
- 28:35people we didn't, we didn't get. So anyway, what shit is wild?
- 28:42All right, we're halfway through the show.
- 28:44Just a reminder if you want to drop us a tip, we appreciate it.
- 28:52Kind of like when. I host karaoke every Sunday.
- 28:55I live on those tips. That's my that's my record.
- 28:59My tip collection is behind. Me on the bed here.

- 29:51Lamb Goat, the meaner version of Ghost Cult.
- 29:54The Lamb Goat Ad Network includes a bunch of websites.

- 30:09except for TikTok. We are bringing this to show to
- 30:12you via the magic of stream yard.
- 30:14If you want to stream like we do.
- 30:15Check out the link in our description.
- 30:17And with that out of the way, let's finish the rest of the
- 30:19show. We're on all the socials.
- 30:21We have a newsletter. We're going to have more
- 30:23giveaways by the end of the year.
- 30:25We're giving away those, God forbid, tickets.
- 30:27We have another giveaway plan for December.
- 30:31I'm talking to a couple of book authors about maybe giving some
- 30:34books away or a bundle of books. Should be pretty fire.
- 30:38Slipknot. This is the big story of the
- 30:40week. Slipknot, after months and
- 30:42months of rumors, has sold a stake in their early album
- 30:46publishing basically everything before now to Harbor Equity
- 30:52Partners, basically a venture capital company.
- 30:55You know, we're on Discord. I think it automatically posts
- 30:58rubber band, man. I don't really, you know, it's
- 31:00like only so many hours in the day and I'm managing all these
- 31:02things on top of a full time job in my.
- 31:04Life with my girlfriend and other things.
- 31:07But we have Discord, you know? Our link tree gets updated every
- 31:11single day with the most important big stories.
- 31:14We post on socials all the time. You know, we're trying to keep
- 31:17up with the Joneses. You know how it is and.
- 31:19We have a weekly newsletter that kind of recaps the whole week.
- 31:23This show our new Music Friday preview.
- 31:26Everything else so. Slipknot sold the steak.
- 31:28I got asked by a friend of mine today if I thought that, you
- 31:31know, do all the members get that money?
- 31:33Since 2003, so 22 years, Slipknot has been basically
- 31:39owned by Slipknot Incorporated. Every band that's at a major
- 31:43level has like a corporation that manages the band's affairs,
- 31:46and Slim not Incorporated is basically Clown Corey and Corey
- 31:50Brennan and 5B management. The band made that agreement in
- 31:532003 because Klein and Corey probably felt like they were
- 31:56doing all the. Work of the.
- 31:57Band, even if they hadn't. Done all the songwriting the two
- 32:00of. Them and the rest of the band
- 32:01took it because it was more money on a regular basis as
- 32:04opposed to future rights and royalties.
- 32:06I do believe anybody that wrote and recorded on those early
- 32:09Slipknot records, especially those first three that were more
- 32:12of a collaborative effort, those guys are all going to get a.
- 32:15Piece of that 120 million, now they're going to get the.
- 32:18Same piece? Probably not, which may cause
- 32:21more problems in the future. We already know they had to
- 32:23settle with Chris Ben finally this year and Craig Jones
- 32:27retired. And Sid, the kid is probably
- 32:29going to retire at some point now.
- 32:31We'll see. But Slipknot going to Slipknot
- 32:34until they can't slip on anymore.
- 32:35Probably about 10 more years or less.
- 32:37We'll see. Thanks, JJ Appreciate you.
- 32:40I am slain. So yeah, Slipknot sold the
- 32:43rights to their music, not their Future Music.
- 32:45Hello Ministry of Cults, we were also the cult.
- 32:48How are you doing? Soundgarden got inducted into
- 32:50the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2 weeks ago and now a lot of press
- 32:54and interviews the band did around then is coming out.
- 32:56So a big interview by Allison Hagendorf, the big music
- 32:59influenced music and she interviewed the band.
- 33:03The surviving members of the band including Hiro Yamamato,
- 33:06their original bass player and they are 90% done with the
- 33:11final. Soundgarden now with Chris
- 33:12Cornell, his music on and his writing and his singing, I
- 33:16believe this is going to come out for next year.
- 33:18I believe other things are in the works in the future for
- 33:21Chris Cornell releases, like a solo release.
- 33:24Unplug things, you know? But I'm glad that the families
- 33:29are all in agreement now and Chris's legacy can live on and
- 33:32this final. Soundgarden record can come out.
- 33:34Because we need to hear it. Really great.
- 33:38Also over one of my favorite bands of all time.
- 33:41Speaking of black metal, they're not so black metal anywhere
- 33:44started out as first, you know, second wave black metal.
- 33:46And they went through a bunch of changes the last like 10 years.
- 33:49They've been kind of like industrial metal, Depeche Mode,
- 33:54romantic metal, kind of like a better version of him.
- 33:58And now they've released their brand new single, The Weeping
- 34:03Stone, and their new album Neverland is coming out on their
- 34:06out their record label House of Mythology in February.
- 34:10And they're moving into kind of an instrumental ambient thing
- 34:14that is away from the style they did before.
- 34:17So I'm here for it. I'm always here for over.
- 34:19I love them so much. I can't get enough.
- 34:23Also also, Converge announced the new album drop the new song.
- 34:28Of course it was punishing, of course it was great.
- 34:30So next year will be a big year for Converge.
- 34:32We knew this. They've been teasing this for
- 34:33the whole year that they had finished the record and it was
- 34:36coming every. Converge.
- 34:38Album is a journey. Great.
- 34:42Great fucking band. I remember seeing Converge one
- 34:45of my first trips ever to Boston.
- 34:47I saw Converge at like a VFW with 20 other people and then
- 34:51like a couple of years later they were.
- 34:53Touring open for huge bands like Slayer.
- 34:56Megan has dropped the new single last week.
- 34:58I don't care. A lot of new music.
- 35:00Is coming out right now. I know Lamb of God has a new
- 35:02song coming tomorrow, another new one, maybe an album
- 35:05announcement. We'll see.
- 35:07And I don't know, I kind of felt like, I feel like these Megadeth
- 35:11artworks are very AI, but like, the song is solid.
- 35:15It's not spectacular. It's got great solos and some
- 35:18fun lyrics. It's very punky, which I'm not
- 35:21mad at, but I'm just hoping. I have very high hopes for this
- 35:24last Megadeth record. I hope the only really great.
- 35:27Song is not Tipping Point and the Metallica cover.
- 35:31Vows is a killer band that I love.
- 35:34Hey, Stormland is here. I didn't even know you were here
- 35:35bro. You were disappointed when you
- 35:38learned I don't care. Wasn't an obituary cover exactly
- 35:40I. Don't care.
- 35:43I had that videotape with a Christian woman and I don't care
- 35:47and dog eat dog on it. I don't know if I've just dated
- 35:50myself about how old I am. Stormland, good to see you
- 35:52buddy. How are you?
- 35:53How's your family? How's.
- 35:54Everybody hope you're well. You're awesome.
- 35:57Vows is a band I love a lot. I love that they're in this
- 36:00photography space with the Godfather poster behind them.
- 36:03Vows new album is killer. Definitely going to factor into
- 36:07my top 2020. Five albums of the year.
- 36:09They just announced a big tour of Europe.
- 36:11They're opening for Kim Dracula also but they announced headline
- 36:14dates which they haven't done in a while.
- 36:17Also Bad Omens drop the new single they're about to kick
- 36:20off. Basically an 8 month world tour
- 36:23hitting everywhere. New single from them.
- 36:26Fun band if you like the metallic metal core.
- 36:29Streamy swoopy hair people. Oops, my bad too fast.
- 36:33Too fast for Love Forbidden. One of my favorite thrash bands
- 36:36of all time. Right here in the backyard here.
- 36:39Of San Francisco. I'm an E coaster at heart and
- 36:42all my friends are absolutely sick of me talking about
- 36:45Forbidden. Forbidden is a new album coming
- 36:47out next year. They drop the new single.
- 36:49They have a new singer. As well as Anderson is.
- 36:52Retired from music and Shooie Mongrain of Voyvot was filling
- 36:58in on guitar for them as like the new permanent guitar player,
- 37:00but it was just kind of too hard for him.
- 37:02Voyvot is still so vital and busy and always working on stuff
- 37:06and always planning things. Q is here, what's up?
- 37:08Q Love you. Good to see you.
- 37:11So they announced that Jeremy Van EPP, who filled in an
- 37:14aftershock, which I did not get to go to, sadly, is now their
- 37:17permanent new guitarist. They loved Chewy, he wrote some
- 37:19songs with them that'll be on the new album, maybe even did
- 37:22some solos. And Jeremy's a killer, killer
- 37:26thrash metal guitar and he can't even play death metal and stuff
- 37:28like that. So I'm, I'm very hyped for a new
- 37:31Forbidden album. A lot of new thrash next year.
- 37:34Anthrax, Overkill, Megadeth, Forbidden, Sacred Rock, all new
- 37:39albums next year. I'm so pumped.
- 37:42This is like our most viral story on social media this week.
- 37:46This is Cam heat coke heat cock heat cock sorry.
- 37:52Of formerly of American Head Charge that band is broken up.
- 37:57He was profiled by the YouTube channel and the claimed book
- 38:02photography series Soft White Underbelly About like you know.
- 38:05Just the the. The parts of life that people
- 38:08don't see piercing medalists here, my buddy.
- 38:10What's up, buddy? I I dropped that little nugget
- 38:14of news you dropped on me before about the drummer that.
- 38:17Passed away. Ken, thank you for that tip.
- 38:20But yeah, this this story is just heartbreaking.
- 38:22He's profiled for like 45 minutes.
- 38:24He lives on Skid Row in, in LA, He's homeless, he's on drugs.
- 38:29And he has like no hope of ever getting better, which is just
- 38:31terribly sad. I love me some American Head
- 38:33Charge. Like a very underrated ban from
- 38:3525 years ago. Auspice 2001 opened for Slayer
- 38:38and Slipknot and Kitty and Mud Vein.
- 38:41And they were kind of like new metal, sort of modern metal, you
- 38:45know, sort of one step into new metal and.
- 38:47One step into regular metal and I, you know, like a Pantera
- 38:50maybe or A7 dust and machine head and I really like them.
- 38:54So these are really sad. If you want to go to our
- 38:56website, we've got the story and it's on our socials too and in
- 38:59our Ling tree. You wish Chewy would bring back
- 39:02Martyr, but you love his work with a boy.
- 39:03But I agree, I feel like Martyr needs to have another life.
- 39:06Maybe avoid whatever goes on a hiatus or starts to slow down.
- 39:09You know those guys are not getting any younger.
- 39:11They're all like 60 years old. I love Chewy, I've interviewed
- 39:14him, he's wonderful. We nerded out about progressive
- 39:17rock. Monster Magnet.
- 39:20Boy, we haven't heard much from these guys in about 2-3 years.
- 39:24Monster Magnet. I know they had cancelled the
- 39:25tour they were on in 2024. Dave Windorf is very ill.
- 39:31He's had like long term side effects from hyperthyroidism and
- 39:36the story is he's not doing too well.
- 39:37But there is a massive, massive Monster Magnet box set coming
- 39:41out and I'm very. Interested in getting this?
- 39:44I put some feelers out to get it sent to me.
- 39:47All they're basically monster man in 2019, 93 to 2018 of all
- 39:53their records so. I'm here for it.
- 39:55Great band, classic band. I know they had one of their
- 39:58family members that died last year.
- 40:01You know, if that band is done and they can never come back
- 40:04again, I'll be glad I saw them a few times.
- 40:06Fantastic band. All right, we're almost done
- 40:09here. Going back to my hometown in the
- 40:11hardcore scene, District 9 was a band that I grew up.
- 40:15Idolizing when I lived in New York City.
- 40:17And you know, we should do Monster Man Divine looks dope as
- 40:23fuck. And I hope you do a glacial
- 40:24musical on them. You know we should.
- 40:26We just finished Alice In Chains.
- 40:28We're starting a new series on Queen's Reich, much to Nick
- 40:31Cameron's chagrin. But Don loves them.
- 40:34Don's going to lead that series. We haven't done black metal that
- 40:38was talked about today. We haven't done.
- 40:40We'd like to do some more rap, much bigger than Beastie Boys.
- 40:43Like true rap bands or a rap series and even like it may be
- 40:47the best of West Coast rap or an East Coast rap series.
- 40:50I would like to do Monster Magnet or Caius or Sleep or High
- 40:54On Fire. Nick likes some of those.
- 40:56Bands. I think they don't know what
- 40:58kinds as well. Anyway, District 9 is a band.
- 41:01From the old. New York City hardcore and metal
- 41:04scene in the 90s and M9 or Mike District 9 had a heart attack
- 41:08recently and he is in. Hospice care in New York City.
- 41:12And it's not sounding too great. I'm super sad to hear.
- 41:14This is a band that everybody in my scene looked up to.
- 41:18He had integrity. Talent.
- 41:19Killer band. They open for huge bands.
- 41:22Yeah. I love Kaya.
- 41:23Love them. So we're just hopefully if we
- 41:31get more news about M9, we'll let you know.
- 41:35Spirit Box has teamed up with the clothing brand The Pretty
- 41:38Cult for a merch drop right in time for Black Friday.
- 41:42We'll be doing a Black Friday gift guide.
- 41:45We'll be doing. I might be doing a Record Store
- 41:47Day Black Friday preview of some records that were sent to me
- 41:49ready. Depends on when I get the rest
- 41:52of them. Not a great record, stated
- 41:55Record Store Day. Black Friday this year, but
- 41:57there's some things I'm interested.
- 41:58In like I said, I will try to get out to a record store near
- 42:00me and check it out. I love this meme unashamedly
- 42:05because I think Borg is a penis and I never thought Berzum was
- 42:08good in the first place, but this is great.
- 42:10Porn creates the unrealistic expectations like dudes and
- 42:13birds and shirts getting laid. I think that was the funniest
- 42:16part of that movie. I don't want to spoil it for
- 42:19anybody. If you haven't seen Lords of
- 42:20Chaos, the book is better. The book is more accurate than
- 42:22the movie, but I thought the book was solid.
