- 0:04Speaker 1: It's an asteroid here, and for this episode, I am
- 0:08Speaker 1: going to be talking about whether it is worth it
- 0:12Speaker 1: to study audio production, because here's the thing. There are
- 0:21Speaker 1: some things that need to be taken in consideration, like
- 0:28Speaker 1: how recording has evolved in getting to the point to
- 0:32Speaker 1: where bands they can pull their money together by recording
- 0:39Speaker 1: equipment and record themselves. Then there is the odds of
- 0:48Speaker 1: getting an internship because of how many are available in
- 0:56Speaker 1: comparison to how many students there are. And then there
- 1:05Speaker 1: is taking general education classes that you probably wouldn't take
- 1:13Speaker 1: if they weren't part of the degree, which some would
- 1:22Speaker 1: debate me. But the reason why some would interject on
- 1:33Speaker 1: some of those last points is because they went to
- 1:39Speaker 1: a music conservatory. So they're probably telling me, oh, just
- 1:46Speaker 1: going to a conservatory, you don't have to take those classes,
- 1:52Speaker 1: and oh, they'll find an internship for you. Which it's
- 2:00Speaker 1: a topic into itself talking about conservatories, because when you
- 2:08Speaker 1: attend one, you are there like maybe four and a
- 2:13Speaker 1: half to five hours, five days out of the week.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It costs more. And surprisingly they would also be the
- 2:30Speaker 1: same people that would advise, don't have another job, just
- 2:36Speaker 1: focus on your classes because of the time it takes,
- 2:44Speaker 1: so when you stew over those things, it's very easy
- 2:49Speaker 1: to be turned off and be like, no, it isn't
- 2:53Speaker 1: worth it. But at the same time, music is a
- 3:00Speaker 1: passion and there is no better way of testing that
- 3:08Speaker 1: they go into those classes because of getting to know
- 3:12Speaker 1: your other classmates and hearing about their music taste and
- 3:19Speaker 1: what they're into. And there's nothing like being in a
- 3:28Speaker 1: studio and even if it is just your bedroom and
- 3:32Speaker 1: getting that satisfaction of finishing a song. So to me,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's pretty much what you make of it. So just
- 3:46Speaker 1: make sure you're thinking clearly and what's the most important
- 3:49Speaker 1: to you. And that covers my top thoughts on whether
- 3:59Speaker 1: I feel it is worth it to study audio production
- 4:06Speaker 1: until the next one, Peace and Chicken Grease
