- 0:56Speaker 1: rent him a room Sunday. The nine hours he was
- 1:00Speaker 1: out at the ballpark, Were you at there? No, Okay,
- 1:05Speaker 1: you were gone.
- 1:06Speaker 3: You were somewhere else. I was somewhere else. I kept checking.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Well, people kept calling, Hey, why the game on the air.
- 1:16Speaker 1: They're not playing it? But anyway, Well, I had I
- 1:20Speaker 1: was prepared with with in it looked like it looked
- 1:24Speaker 1: like Friday and Saturday that they had the rankings reversed
- 1:31Speaker 1: for those two teams. I mean, it looked like they
- 1:34Speaker 1: had the rankings reversed.
- 1:35Speaker 3: From those two teams and the Longhorns.
- 1:39Speaker 1: They did Friday and Saturday.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yeah. Is it surprising that? And I'm preface it,
- 1:49Speaker 3: is it because I'm going to come up with an
- 1:51Speaker 3: example of it happening? Uh?
- 1:53Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Again that the head coach of one of the teams
- 1:59Speaker 3: didn't start his best starter or throw his best for leaver.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Is it surprising, Yes, that he didn't look at the
- 2:08Speaker 3: weather and say, at some point in time, hey, it
- 2:11Speaker 3: might be a good idea to go ahead and roll
- 2:15Speaker 3: the dice and play Saturday, Like my guy ain't going
- 2:21Speaker 3: to see the field on Sunday.
- 2:23Speaker 1: In other words, the way that A and M coach did.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Oh really, because I was considering more considering the time
- 2:33Speaker 3: that Wayne Graham didn't pitch Mario Ramos at a regional
- 2:37Speaker 3: int A and M waiting to play Texas A and
- 2:40Speaker 3: M and he rode the bus back to Houston, and
- 2:44Speaker 3: Ramos was ready to go whenever the next game he
- 2:48Speaker 3: was going to pitch in after being a first round
- 2:50Speaker 3: draft pick. It wasn't going to be for Wayne Graham.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So I mean it does happen. It does happen with
- 2:55Speaker 3: Hall of Fame coaches that you make some of those
- 2:58Speaker 3: decisions and through performance, weather, whatever, that guy since on
- 3:05Speaker 3: the bench and you don't have.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I didn't think it was Schlotz's finest hours for the
- 3:10Speaker 1: two games. But when you lose, but you're gonna get scrutinized, right, Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 1: But I didn't think it was his finest finest two
- 3:20Speaker 1: days on the bench. Frankly, what's Gavin Lyons done to
- 3:25Speaker 1: galvanize the bullpen so far for with his team?
- 3:28Speaker 3: Well, I you know, two weeks ago, I was saying
- 3:32Speaker 3: somebody needed to do a reasonable factsimile of Jacob Polish.
- 3:38Speaker 3: If you are going to try to bash people, you
- 3:42Speaker 3: have to have somebody that you can give the ball
- 3:45Speaker 3: to them in the fourth, get out, the sixth or
- 3:49Speaker 3: the eighth to get outs. And Gavin Lions has done that,
- 3:54Speaker 3: And you know that was quite frankly. You know I
- 4:00Speaker 3: thought that you know that you had Simps gave you
- 4:04Speaker 3: a pretty good start.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 4:07Speaker 3: So that he didn't qualify for the win was not
- 4:10Speaker 3: anything that was talking about his performance, So you know
- 4:15Speaker 3: it is, it is huge, especially even though they didn't
- 4:19Speaker 3: play the third game. The fact of the matter is,
- 4:23Speaker 3: you say, fresh corn, if there was a third game,
- 4:26Speaker 3: even though he threw three innings, your offense gave you eleven,
- 4:31Speaker 3: you had an opportunity to run rule there for a
- 4:33Speaker 3: little bit. Yes, So, I mean the A and M
- 4:37Speaker 3: did what they needed to do, put themselves back in
- 4:40Speaker 3: a great position RPI wise, Texas only fell one spot.
- 4:47Speaker 3: They've kind of gained that back. UCLA loss last night,
- 4:52Speaker 3: really yeah, that broke a twenty four twenty five game
- 4:56Speaker 3: winning They lost to Santa.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Barbara okay, Annis lux Oh nice?
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeahs no, that's Santa Cruz. That's Santa Cruz.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Santa cruzs okay.
- 5:09Speaker 3: So lost of them ams put themselves in a position
- 5:13Speaker 3: where they are now in a host type situation. You
- 5:18Speaker 3: know the good thing is that you only have to
- 5:21Speaker 3: play the defending national champion this weekend.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and let's let's talk about that. That match up
- 5:29Speaker 1: and you know, never an easy place. Nope, tell me
- 5:34Speaker 1: about LSU.
- 5:36Speaker 3: The struggles are real. They did win last night, they
- 5:40Speaker 3: rallied last night against Bethune Cookman. Maybe twenty three and fifteen.
- 5:50Speaker 3: They're in a position along with Vanderbilt where they've got
- 5:54Speaker 3: to put some wins together. We had talked about We
- 5:57Speaker 3: talked about them about a month ago and then they
- 6:01Speaker 3: had a little resurgence. You know, Vandy got on the
- 6:03Speaker 3: hot streak and then they came to A and M
- 6:05Speaker 3: and uh, you know, lost, but you know they you
- 6:12Speaker 3: have some teams down there that you you know, you
- 6:16Speaker 3: don't want to let South Carolina catch you. They're five
- 6:19Speaker 3: and ten, LSU was six and nine. LSU was just
- 6:24Speaker 3: they don't they they they're not as good as some
- 6:29Speaker 3: of their parts. This year. They bat it to eighty five,
- 6:33Speaker 3: they've got, you know, sixty three home runs. They're averaging,
- 6:37Speaker 3: you know, thirty eight games turn seventy runs, so seven
- 6:41Speaker 3: and a half runs a game. But then you turn
- 6:44Speaker 3: it around and they're fourteenth in the league in pitching
- 6:48Speaker 3: with a four point eight four. They're they're behind A
- 6:50Speaker 3: and M pitching wise, too many walks.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So you think a lot of runs are going to
- 6:56Speaker 1: be scored this weekend.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I would not be surprised. They're probably them is the
- 7:00Speaker 3: base on balls A and M is given up ninety
- 7:02Speaker 3: three walks. LSU's given up.
- 7:05Speaker 1: One hundred and seventy three almost twice, almost twice.
- 7:08Speaker 3: So when you look at that right there, a big
- 7:11Speaker 3: swing and miss team when they find the strike zone
- 7:14Speaker 3: Friday night starter can bring it, but you don't know
- 7:17Speaker 3: if they're going to get that opportunity. And then, in
- 7:23Speaker 3: an amazing stat second from the bottom in defense, when
- 7:28Speaker 3: if you had an LSU team that couldn't pick the
- 7:29Speaker 3: ball up and throw it across the diamond, fifty hoers
- 7:33Speaker 3: in thirty eight games, that'll get your beat, that'll get
- 7:36Speaker 3: your beat. A and M is third in the league
- 7:38Speaker 3: with twenty ers in thirty five games. So you play
- 7:42Speaker 3: good defense, you don't give them free base runners. A
- 7:46Speaker 3: and M did give up the home runs. But this
- 7:49Speaker 3: weekend you saw it again chip the solo home run
- 7:52Speaker 3: as opposed to the Georgia weekend when the solo home
- 7:55Speaker 3: six solo home runs or six runs. Yeah, okay, but
- 7:59Speaker 3: A and M gave up the solo home runs. This weekend,
- 8:01Speaker 3: they hit multi run home runs when they got the opportunity.
- 8:06Speaker 3: And that's the recipe for success. If you're going to
- 8:08Speaker 3: be a team that kind of bashes you.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I haven't looked at the TV schedule or everything involves Scott.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm just now looked at the weather for Baton Rouge
- 8:19Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday until Saturday night.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Later.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Saturday night looks fine, right, but Saturday night into Sunday
- 8:29Speaker 1: does not look good.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Well, ARAM starts with ESPN, so that's a six o'clock start.
- 8:35Speaker 1: So they'll play that. They're not going to change that.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I'm going to change that. And then you Saturday. You
- 8:40Speaker 3: look at Saturday that is network seven pm start. They
- 8:48Speaker 3: will not change that.
- 8:50Speaker 1: You don't think they'll change that. No, No, they're scheduled
- 8:53Speaker 1: to do an ESPN game at one o'clock on Sunday. Yes, right, So.
- 8:58Speaker 3: As opposed to last week, the reason why A and
- 9:01Speaker 3: M didn't play two games on Saturday anime in Texas
- 9:04Speaker 3: is because that was a national broadcast.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Game in the middle of the day. Yes, and they're
- 9:09Speaker 1: not gonna change those times. So what it looks like
- 9:13Speaker 1: is the rain will be out. There's a front come again, right, Yes.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Saturday, Saturday, Saturday here, Saturday here, and well same thing
- 9:25Speaker 3: there overnight over Friday night.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yes, that's correct. Well, it's a day later in bad Rouge,
- 9:30Speaker 1: but it looks like everything will be cleared out by
- 9:34Speaker 1: pretty early in the morning.
- 9:36Speaker 3: So maybe they can change if it gets If it
- 9:39Speaker 3: gets canceled, they could play two seven inning games on Sunday,
- 9:43Speaker 3: play seven inning.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Games Saturday night where canceled. But there looks like the
- 9:48Speaker 1: window looks pretty good.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Actually, ship, how many times did there were their windows?
- 9:53Speaker 1: My bat rouge could be soggy?
- 9:54Speaker 3: How many times are their windows Sunday, Friday and m
- 9:59Speaker 3: It's a window until you get another lightning bolt.
- 10:01Speaker 1: No, you're right, but again, this looks way early enough
- 10:05Speaker 1: for a schedule one o'clock start for that to be through, right,
- 10:10Speaker 1: for that front to be through. So right now it
- 10:15Speaker 1: looks positive to get all three of those games in
- 10:19Speaker 1: at the time anyone wants to play those games at
- 10:21Speaker 1: the times their scheduled.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Now, the craziness of all craziness, let me let me
- 10:25Speaker 3: bring up there, let me bring up the meteor from
- 10:29Speaker 3: this week is what has happened to Florida. Okay, Florida
- 10:34Speaker 3: last week won two of three against Georgia. Okay, Okay, it's.
- 10:40Speaker 1: A rival series.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Rivalry series. They beat Florida State. So they had a
- 10:45Speaker 3: week where they get good a week a really good week.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Not gonna act like it wasn't a good week.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But Florida, who are they scheduled to play this weekend?
- 10:55Speaker 3: I will get that in just a second. Let's see here,
- 10:59Speaker 3: Alabama is at Texas, Auburn is at Florida. Okay, okay,
- 11:03Speaker 3: and then so they're playing two games in a row.
- 11:07Speaker 3: All right. Florida jumped up to number seven in Baseball
- 11:12Speaker 3: America after winning two out of three and beating Georgia.
- 11:18Speaker 3: So they went up like sixteen spots. That's a lot.
- 11:22Speaker 3: That's a lot. They have been a very up and
- 11:25Speaker 3: down baseball team a lot.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Like the reason we're talking about Florida is because that's
- 11:30Speaker 1: am is A and M's next trip a week from
- 11:33Speaker 1: this weekend. They are scheduled to go to Florida.
- 11:36Speaker 3: So I mean you're talking about I mean, if they're
- 11:39Speaker 3: playing like they're the number five team in the country,
- 11:42Speaker 3: you know, then then you have to watch out. But
- 11:44Speaker 3: this is a team that lost two to three, two
- 11:47Speaker 3: of three to Old Miss the week before. They had
- 11:50Speaker 3: swept Arkansas the week before that, They got swept by
- 11:54Speaker 3: Alabama the week before that, and they had swept South
- 11:59Speaker 3: Carolina the week before that.
- 12:01Speaker 1: How about Tennessee taking down Mississippi State.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Well, you know, Tennessee's trying to do what A and
- 12:07Speaker 3: M did last year, which is, you know, with all
- 12:10Speaker 3: the new the changes in everything that's going on, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 3: they're trying to right themselves as well. You know, they
- 12:18Speaker 3: had swept Missouri, but they had got swept at Vanderbilt
- 12:25Speaker 3: and lost two of three to LSU and then turn
- 12:28Speaker 3: around to swee Mississippi State. So there's another team that's
- 12:31Speaker 3: on that roller coaster, and are you going to catch
- 12:33Speaker 3: them when they're on the up? Are you going to
- 12:35Speaker 3: catch them when they're.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So let's talk about that. How much we talk about
- 12:39Speaker 1: teams being on a roller coaster, but we already know
- 12:43Speaker 1: that when you play on the weak kids in the league.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, there's a chance that idiot, this stuff can happen, right, Oh,
- 12:51Speaker 1: no doubt. You can get swept. You can, you know,
- 12:54Speaker 1: by teams that quote aren't supposed to You can sweep
- 12:58Speaker 1: teams that you're not supposed to see week I mean
- 13:01Speaker 1: that just that happens every weekend, does it not.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That's why the fact that Texas had not lost the
- 13:09Speaker 3: series before coming to Gulge Station. They played olemiss at home,
- 13:14Speaker 3: they went to Auburn, they played Oklahoma at home. They
- 13:18Speaker 3: went to South Carolina right after the Mariinary quit and
- 13:23Speaker 3: then played A and M. Well, so even though they
- 13:26Speaker 3: hadn't lost the series, really only one of those was
- 13:29Speaker 3: a series that you know, you they should win. You
- 13:33Speaker 3: think that it should be a sweet types of situation.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And then they were winning. There are many sweeps by
- 13:38Speaker 3: the way, and went in two out of three on
- 13:40Speaker 3: the road. It's a pretty good weekend. So you know,
- 13:43Speaker 3: they had kind of exceeded that, and that's why they
- 13:45Speaker 3: were the number two team in the country before this
- 13:47Speaker 3: last week.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Is there a better one two punch in America right
- 13:53Speaker 1: now than Grohovac and Crell? I mean there couldn't be,
- 13:59Speaker 1: could there?
- 13:59Speaker 5: No?
- 14:00Speaker 1: And Kopian is going, yeah, I don't want to take
- 14:03Speaker 1: anything and wait for the other guys. I'm just saying
- 14:06Speaker 1: the top of the order, right.
- 14:07Speaker 3: UKOPI gets back into it. Yeah, it's not just gonna
- 14:11Speaker 3: be two.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Well, it's not just two, And I didn't mean to
- 14:14Speaker 1: it fur that. No, No, I'm just talking about the
- 14:17Speaker 1: first two batters you have to face.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Okay, let's this brings up something that that I did
- 14:22Speaker 3: have some research on last year A and m ended
- 14:25Speaker 3: up fifty in the RPIK. They went thirteen and five
- 14:30Speaker 3: uh against the Quad four teams, Okay, And that's basically
- 14:36Speaker 3: what kept him out of being well.
- 14:38Speaker 1: They lost midweek games.
- 14:39Speaker 3: They lost midweek games because those two guys that you're
- 14:42Speaker 3: talking about the best one to two punch in the
- 14:45Speaker 3: country this year, weren't batting in front of Jason Lovolette
- 14:49Speaker 3: last year. So this is why all of that handwringing,
- 14:54Speaker 3: can the coach do the job? Is good enough? All
- 14:56Speaker 3: of that, it still boils down the Jimmy's and the Joe's.
- 15:00Speaker 3: And when Jimmy is Grahovic and Joe is Sorell, you're
- 15:05Speaker 3: pretty good because those two guys give you no chance
- 15:09Speaker 3: from the jump. From the jump, the first pitch of
- 15:14Speaker 3: the game that the opposed pitcher throws, he is already
- 15:18Speaker 3: in the grease.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he better he better come out being ready, right right.
- 15:24Speaker 3: And that And that's what I'm saying. That has nothing
- 15:27Speaker 3: to do what's happening afterwards with Jorian Wilson, with Partida,
- 15:32Speaker 3: with UH. You know the fact that you see the
- 15:36Speaker 3: lineup turned over in front of them, with what you're
- 15:39Speaker 3: getting in your nine hole, you know that all of
- 15:43Speaker 3: a sudden, Bear Harrison's hitting the ball like he's capable
- 15:47Speaker 3: of of this team, it's not feasible that they can
- 15:53Speaker 3: do this and make this long run other than the
- 15:55Speaker 3: fact is we've already seen them do this in twenty
- 15:59Speaker 3: twenty two and finishing the top four teams in the country. Okay,
- 16:04Speaker 3: you still got to pitch, right, but if you win
- 16:07Speaker 3: two of three, if AMM wins two out of every
- 16:09Speaker 3: three games the rest of the way out.
- 16:12Speaker 1: That'll be a good shake.
- 16:12Speaker 3: That will be a top eight national seed. Because right
- 16:14Speaker 3: now they're about ten to eleven or twelve as a seat,
- 16:20Speaker 3: and they have the opportunity in front of them to
- 16:22Speaker 3: go be a top eight national seat. And as you
- 16:26Speaker 3: can attest to what happened this weekend, when you get
- 16:30Speaker 3: seventy five hundred people in that stadium and it starts
- 16:34Speaker 3: raining down on you, and I'm not talking from the skies,
- 16:37Speaker 3: I'm talking about the fans and everything that goes on
- 16:40Speaker 3: around it, it becomes an opportunity for you to go
- 16:44Speaker 3: make another run to Omaha.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Well, these next two weeks are really important, right, no doubt,
- 16:50Speaker 1: because you're you're on the road. As we've already mentioned,
- 16:53Speaker 1: against against teams that are that are certainly capable of
- 16:57Speaker 1: coming in and sweeping any team. Right. Uh, they're capable
- 17:01Speaker 1: of coming in and being swept by a team.
- 17:04Speaker 6: Uh.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But but you go on the road, and we've talked
- 17:06Speaker 1: about that, Scott early in the year. We're talking about, hey,
- 17:10Speaker 1: when you're on the road, when one of three, don't
- 17:12Speaker 1: get swept. Right in this league, just don't get swept, right,
- 17:17Speaker 1: Just win one and you're in good shape.
- 17:20Speaker 7: Right.
- 17:20Speaker 3: And it hasn't changed, and that that hasn't changed. But
- 17:22Speaker 3: there hasn't been very many of that. It's been there.
- 17:26Speaker 3: It's it's been crazy. It has been crazy.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Uh, you know, just stuff that you don't expect. But again,
- 17:36Speaker 1: these next two weeks for this team as well as
- 17:39Speaker 1: they're hitting.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Chip, it's not but it's still Florida l s U Florida,
- 17:45Speaker 3: Auburn and Old miss.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I get it. They have a gauntlet, right, I mean
- 17:50Speaker 1: they we're not close to done.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Everybody here has a gauntlet.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Everyone has a gauntlet.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I mean right, yes, yeah, Texas. Texas is about to
- 17:59Speaker 3: have Alabama at Vandy where they're far better at Vandy
- 18:03Speaker 3: than they are on the road. Mississippi State at Tennessee
- 18:08Speaker 3: and get you finished with Missouri. Okay, you saw that
- 18:13Speaker 3: last year that you're gonna be hosting Missouri at the end. Yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 3: how that went Missouri team over last year? Yeah, there's
- 18:20Speaker 3: a lot of baseball to be played, a lot.
- 18:23Speaker 1: There's a lot going on.
- 18:25Speaker 3: So you know it's at chip softball you just had
- 18:31Speaker 3: coach didn't on. Yeah, for tennis is the exact same
- 18:34Speaker 3: thing that went from two to five. He just said
- 18:36Speaker 3: five or six teams. He didn't say his team could
- 18:39Speaker 3: go win a national chap. I think that ye, which
- 18:42Speaker 3: they could, which they could obviously, Mark Weaver can go
- 18:46Speaker 3: win another national championship for women women's tennis, women's golf
- 18:50Speaker 3: is just that good all of these. Okay, you don't
- 18:54Speaker 3: go to a regional and play any team that you
- 18:58Speaker 3: haven't already seen a good or better sure home and
- 19:02Speaker 3: away very seldom when when you're when you're doing on.
- 19:05Speaker 1: The national you mentioned UCLA got beat last night after
- 19:07Speaker 1: twenty something games, and that's gonna happen in baseball. It's
- 19:12Speaker 1: just is uh Georgia Tech. I keep hearing about Georgia Tech.
- 19:16Speaker 1: How good is Georgia Tech?
- 19:17Speaker 3: They're really good? Yeah, I mean they beat Florida State
- 19:19Speaker 3: this last weekend.
- 19:21Speaker 1: How good is Florida State?
- 19:22Speaker 3: Well, they went on for last weekend. They were one
- 19:25Speaker 3: of the top four teams in the country. Yeah, and
- 19:27Speaker 3: then you've played you played Florida and Georgia Tech, and
- 19:30Speaker 3: then all it's not just Okay, it's not just this league. Yes,
- 19:34Speaker 3: the top of the acy good teams can do the
- 19:36Speaker 3: exact same thing. Okay, they are good teams all over
- 19:40Speaker 3: the place. Yep, Okay, USC was on a run the
- 19:43Speaker 3: first time in a decade. The USC has been good
- 19:47Speaker 3: and they go on through this last.
- 19:48Speaker 1: How much how much of this the percentage wise we're
- 19:52Speaker 1: talking how much of this is just the way baseball
- 19:56Speaker 1: is changing right now and that these kids are are
- 19:59Speaker 1: coming and getting money and and playing college ball and
- 20:04Speaker 1: have some leverage. Now, in the past, you talk about leverage,
- 20:09Speaker 1: I'll I'll go play football or I'll just go to college. Well,
- 20:12Speaker 1: everybody knew that if they waived enough money that that
- 20:16Speaker 1: that really wasn't as much leverage as as they're a
- 20:19Speaker 1: you know, as their representative, Artina is.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Here because of that. But Chip, you're still have Jorian Wilson,
- 20:24Speaker 3: who nobody was gonna draft left.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Sure, you still have to make really good decisions, right, Yes,
- 20:29Speaker 1: And this this kid is is I mean, he's scary good, right,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I mean he's only tip the tip of the ice
- 20:36Speaker 1: tip of the iceberg is scary good.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Okay, but what I'm but then also I'm hearing this
- 20:42Speaker 3: weekend serious talk that they're gonna that in the next
- 20:47Speaker 3: collective bargaining agreement they're gonna cut more rounds out of
- 20:51Speaker 3: the draft, the draft, and you take five more rounds
- 20:54Speaker 3: out of the draft.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:55Speaker 3: Ten Yeah, go to a ten round draft and see
- 20:58Speaker 3: where that is going to flow to. What's gonna flow
- 21:02Speaker 3: to the SEC.
- 21:04Speaker 1: All right, among other places.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Well, if it doesn't flow to the SEC, and you
- 21:09Speaker 3: do have some success, you're gonna be trying to get
- 21:12Speaker 3: to the SEC as quick as possible because that's where
- 21:15Speaker 3: they're gonna have some more money for you than these
- 21:17Speaker 3: other places. So, I mean, the golden age of college
- 21:24Speaker 3: baseball is like we're in the middle of it. Okay,
- 21:28Speaker 3: could there still be a couple of things that to
- 21:31Speaker 3: make it better, yes, But having more players go to school,
- 21:36Speaker 3: better players go to school raises that level up, and
- 21:41Speaker 3: you know, it continues, it continues year after year. When
- 21:46Speaker 3: you've gone from having one hundred rounds to fifty rounds
- 21:53Speaker 3: to forty rounds to twenty rounds, and then you cut
- 21:57Speaker 3: a lot of those minor league teams as well. They
- 22:00Speaker 3: got to go somewhere and they're ending up in college
- 22:02Speaker 3: and we're getting to see him play here at at BO.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I need to apologize to the listeners because I said
- 22:07Speaker 1: most of the time would be spent on the Maroon
- 22:09Speaker 1: White game and breaking that down, and we got off
- 22:11Speaker 1: on college baseball. Uh. But I just want to point
- 22:17Speaker 1: out that the Maroon White game is Saturday, Saturday Field,
- 22:21Speaker 1: what time one o'clock I believe o'clock. And then there's
- 22:24Speaker 1: a free concert in the park afterwards, okay with Texas
- 22:28Speaker 1: music and wait wait wait wait wait wait wait. I
- 22:32Speaker 1: got to get this girl's name right because I saw
- 22:35Speaker 1: her and you talked about her last week because she
- 22:39Speaker 1: was at she was also at the Troubadour festival. Shoot,
- 22:45Speaker 1: what did I do with that? I had a whole
- 22:48Speaker 1: poster with with with that and a reminder, and now
- 22:53Speaker 1: I can't pull it up anyway. There's free free music
- 22:59Speaker 1: and Doug Gunnet somebody will call him tell me. I
- 23:07Speaker 1: know they will. Yeah, because I cannot think of her name,
- 23:09Speaker 1: and she she is. I'm telling you you know, when
- 23:13Speaker 1: we saw the person that introduced her said, hey, you're
- 23:16Speaker 1: gonna you're going to tell people that you saw this
- 23:19Speaker 1: girl with with seventy people. And she she won't be
- 23:22Speaker 1: here next year. She won't be able to do this
- 23:24Speaker 1: next year. And I believe that she's really really good.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So if you want to see some really good music afterward,
- 23:34Speaker 1: you can do that. Thank you. That's her, Juliana Rankin. Okay,
- 23:40Speaker 1: remember the name Juliana Rankin. She's going to be playing.
- 23:43Speaker 3: As she's sung with Willy Yet I don't believe so well,
- 23:47Speaker 3: we never better because this is we better. Let Willie know.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yeah, because he needs to invite her to the stuff
- 23:53Speaker 1: that he does. Yeah, because she's really good. Okay, we'll
- 23:57Speaker 1: talk next week, all right, thank you accoladenitis with us. Hey,
- 24:01Speaker 1: I want to remind you there's stuff going on, a
- 24:04Speaker 1: lot of stuff, and not just the weekend tonight. There
- 24:09Speaker 1: there are all kinds of live music and open night,
- 24:13Speaker 1: open mic nights, stuff going on that you want to
- 24:19Speaker 1: be a part of. Friday Night is Maroon and White
- 24:24Speaker 1: Night in downtown Brian. They do it the third Friday
- 24:28Speaker 1: of every month. Take advantage of the entertainment eclectic shops
- 24:34Speaker 1: A and EM employees and retirees get discounts, and businesses
- 24:38Speaker 1: just showing their card. Don't forget Saturday the Farmers Market.
- 24:44Speaker 1: There are a couple of fun runs. There's the community
- 24:49Speaker 1: Yoga at lake Walk. There is a breakfast at the

- 27:47Speaker 1: Oscar broadcast Sunday night.
- 27:52Speaker 11: Wow.
- 27:53Speaker 6: I mean that was something, wasn't it.
- 27:57Speaker 11: Yeah, it was. It was definitely something.
- 28:02Speaker 6: You know. Conan was the host.
- 28:06Speaker 1: He welcomed all the guests with a box full of
- 28:09Speaker 1: snacks and a letter placed under every seat. The boxes
- 28:15Speaker 1: included a bag of popcorn, a bottle of water, and
- 28:20Speaker 1: a box of candy. Either Mike and Ikes are Junior Mints. Well,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I love me some Junior Mints. The note said, dear
- 28:30Speaker 1: nominee Slash plus one slash seat filler, Welcome to the Oscars.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I hope you enjoy this Conan O'Brien moderately happy meal.
- 28:40Speaker 1: These snacks may not look like much, but in any
- 28:43Speaker 1: movie theater they would run you eighty five dollars. Good
- 28:48Speaker 1: luck tonight, have fun and remember that loud, enthusiastic laughter
- 28:54Speaker 1: is good for your health and my ego. I like that.
- 29:01Speaker 11: I like that too.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I like also, Oh, everyone likes snacks, especially during like
- 29:06Speaker 1: a four to five hour production. Now, that did not
- 29:10Speaker 1: stop several attendees from rushing to the in and out
- 29:14Speaker 1: burger once the ceremony was over, and several stars walked
- 29:21Speaker 1: the red carpet with their significant others.
- 29:25Speaker 6: Paul muscal sprinted over.
- 29:27Speaker 1: To girlfriend Grazie Abros to plan a kiss on her cheek.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Timothy Schallomey stood smiling on the sidelines while partner Kylie
- 29:36Speaker 1: Jinner posed for cameras and they gabbed with other guests.
- 29:43Speaker 6: While canoodling in their seats.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Turns out Rosebyrne and husband Bobby Canna Valley were spotted
- 29:52Speaker 1: walking hand in hand. Leo DiCaprio was seated beside his
- 29:58Speaker 1: girlfriend the Victoria Siretti, making it the couple's first Awards
- 30:04Speaker 1: show together.
- 30:05Speaker 6: That is so sweet.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I think she's I think she's fifteen now and Jesse
- 30:11Speaker 1: Plemans played the part of a dashing gentleman, linking arms
- 30:16Speaker 1: with wife Kirsten Dunst as they walked through the theater.
- 30:21Speaker 1: What an evening that was it sounds magical.
- 30:25Speaker 6: It was magical.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Now not everybody was happy. Jane Fonda did not enjoy
- 30:33Speaker 1: the Robert Redford tribute. The eighty eight year old actress
- 30:38Speaker 1: said she should have been tapped to honor the late
- 30:41Speaker 1: actor and director rather than Barbara Streisand, who co starred
- 30:46Speaker 1: with him In the Way we were gave a short
- 30:48Speaker 1: speech and sang a snippet of the track. I want
- 30:53Speaker 1: to know how come Streisand was up there doing that
- 30:55Speaker 1: for Redford, said Fonda at the Vanity Fair party in
- 31:00Speaker 1: a playful tone.
- 31:02Speaker 6: We think.
- 31:04Speaker 1: She added that Streisand quote only made one movie with him.
- 31:09Speaker 6: I made four.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I have more to say, adding that she was always
- 31:15Speaker 1: in love with Redford, who died September sixteenth at the
- 31:20Speaker 1: age of eighty nine. The most gorgeous human being and great,
- 31:25Speaker 1: such great values, and he did a lot for movies.
- 31:28Speaker 1: He really changed movies, lifted up independent movies. So maybe
- 31:37Speaker 1: we should have had Jane and not Babs.
- 31:39Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
- 31:42Speaker 11: Maybe they were like, Gane, you're gonna make this about you.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, when I was watching, I was going, hey,
- 31:48Speaker 1: where's Jane Fonda?
- 31:50Speaker 6: You know that kind of stuff.
- 31:52Speaker 11: They've had four movies together.
- 31:54Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly. Why isn't she up there?
- 31:56Speaker 11: I kept demanding, maybe who was actually for with barber stroke?
- 32:01Speaker 6: Yeah nobody. No one heard me apparently.
- 32:05Speaker 11: Oh I hate when that happened.
- 32:06Speaker 6: Yeah, me too, me too.
- 32:09Speaker 11: What a remarkable event, Yes, it was, what an event. Congrats.
- 32:16Speaker 1: You know there are no losers. There are never any
- 32:20Speaker 1: losers in the oscars.
- 32:22Speaker 11: That is so true. Chip, that's a hot take.
- 32:27Speaker 6: That's what I'm about.
- 32:29Speaker 3: There, you go.
- 32:30Speaker 11: Well, you know I've got a handful of royal news. Excellent,
- 32:33Speaker 11: I know, just makes people so excited. Kate Middleton raised
- 32:39Speaker 11: a glass for a Saint Patrick's stage tradition after revealing
- 32:42Speaker 11: the lifestyle change she made around alcohol. She attended the
- 32:46Speaker 11: Irish Guard Saint Patrick's Day parade.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Oh and she was all gussied up in green. If
- 32:50Speaker 1: you saw her, I mean she was, she was greened out.
- 32:54Speaker 11: You go girl, yep. In her previous years, she has
- 32:58Speaker 11: even quietly put money behind the bar for a holiday party,
- 33:02Speaker 11: as seen in a footage shared on ex formerly known
- 33:04Speaker 11: as Twitter. Princess Kate smiled when the Irish Guard cried
- 33:08Speaker 11: three cheers of hip hip hooray in her honor and
- 33:11Speaker 11: took a small sip of the genus guineas or in
- 33:14Speaker 11: her guinness. Can you tell I knew that one too.
- 33:19Speaker 11: I'm sorry so I had too much guiness lost yesterday
- 33:23Speaker 11: exactly and her hand raising a glass with the group.
- 33:26Speaker 11: The Princess of Wales took the tiny taste after revealing
- 33:29Speaker 11: she just that just last week that she had scaled
- 33:32Speaker 11: back her alcohol consumption after being diagnosed with cancer in
- 33:36Speaker 11: twenty twenty four. She revealed a detail while visiting self
- 33:39Speaker 11: while brewing company I'd probably butchered that name too in
- 33:43Speaker 11: London with Prince Williams on March twelfth, and she and
- 33:46Speaker 11: her husband tried their hand at corn pints.
- 33:49Speaker 1: So she's visiting a brewing company while telling everybody, you know,
- 33:54Speaker 1: I'm not really drinking anymore.
- 33:57Speaker 11: Exactly, She did say, I haven't had much alcohol. It's
- 34:01Speaker 11: something I have had a lot more or I have
- 34:03Speaker 11: to be a lot more cautious of now. But William
- 34:07Speaker 11: did say, but you like cider, God, throwing her under
- 34:11Speaker 11: the bus. Well. The family friend previously did say that
- 34:16Speaker 11: Prince Williams will bring Kate a gin and tonic as
- 34:19Speaker 11: a wine down nat after their kids. Man if anyone
- 34:23Speaker 11: can understand that every household.
- 34:26Speaker 6: Yes, children, we all get yes.
- 34:30Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, to deal with those little rascals go
- 34:33Speaker 11: to bed. So I get it. But yeah, she's apparently
- 34:36Speaker 11: scaling back. But she still took a sip.
- 34:38Speaker 6: Okay, okay, But there's more.
- 34:41Speaker 11: Good, of course, there's more. We can't get enough of that.
- 34:43Speaker 11: Kate and Prince William Or and William are once again
- 34:46Speaker 11: taking on the roles of Royal Welcome Committee. The Prince
- 34:50Speaker 11: and Princess of Wales were the first royals to meet
- 34:54Speaker 11: with the President of Nigeria in his wife. I'm not
- 34:57Speaker 11: going to say their names.
- 34:59Speaker 6: I don't want to do that official state visits again.
- 35:03Speaker 11: Of course, they met their guests at the hotel at
- 35:05Speaker 11: Windsor Great Park at the job that's a royal heir
- 35:09Speaker 11: and his wife have been tesked with for each state
- 35:12Speaker 11: visit in recent years, including the visit by the Reds
- 35:14Speaker 11: by President Donald Trump and First Lady Milania Trump in September.
- 35:20Speaker 11: Princess Kate wore a special outfit with ties to Nigeria
- 35:23Speaker 11: for the occasion. Her gray and white ensemble was by
- 35:26Speaker 11: British Nigerian designer.
- 35:28Speaker 6: Good for her.
- 35:30Speaker 11: Yep and then whose collection King Charles Hall when he
- 35:34Speaker 11: recently went to London. King Charles went to London Fashion.
- 35:37Speaker 6: We remember we had that story a week or so ago.
- 35:41Speaker 11: Sorry, I must have zoned out.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Well, you know, I'm glad that I'm glad the kids
- 35:49Speaker 1: are getting out.
- 35:50Speaker 6: Seriously, they thank goodness.
- 35:53Speaker 11: Walk abouts. Yeah, you can ask.
- 35:55Speaker 12: About Well, I'm hopeful that we will have many more
- 36:00Speaker 12: talkabouts to talk about in the future, you know what
- 36:02Speaker 12: I'm saying. Of course we need you know, I have
- 36:06Speaker 12: a story here that not all was right on the
- 36:09Speaker 12: set of The Price Is Right. I mean we already
- 36:13Speaker 12: that's already been kind of written about. But in the
- 36:18Speaker 12: Dirty Rotten Scandals docu series, former models Kathleen Bradley, Honey Halstrom,
- 36:26Speaker 12: and former producer Barbara Hunter opened up about the culture
- 36:30Speaker 12: of sexual harassment that existed on the game show.
- 36:34Speaker 6: Set during its early years.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Bradley, one of the models known as Barker's Beauties, said
- 36:42Speaker 1: that many men on the set regularly gawked at the
- 36:46Speaker 1: women during the time Bob Barker was around. Hunter said,
- 36:51Speaker 1: I was in the elevator and one of the men
- 36:54Speaker 1: just stuck their hands right on my boobs. She was
- 36:59Speaker 1: a producer in the mid seventies. She said, I had
- 37:02Speaker 1: to push him away. I didn't say anything. It became
- 37:06Speaker 1: instinct to know how to handle it. Hunter said a
- 37:12Speaker 1: particular stage hand had a long reputation for being too
- 37:16Speaker 1: inappropriate and handsy.
- 37:20Speaker 6: With women on the set. Bob Bob was.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Let's see, how do I put this? Bob was frisky
- 37:31Speaker 1: on the set. Apparently even when he got older. You
- 37:36Speaker 1: know what I'm saying.
- 37:38Speaker 11: Yeah, nothing just ruins. Oh, I guess that's Hollywood.
- 37:43Speaker 6: Speaking of frisky.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I don't know if you remember the couple Kristen Cabot
- 37:50Speaker 1: and Andy Byron, but they were the ones that went
- 37:54Speaker 1: viral during the Coldplay concert last summer. Okay, the fleeting incident,
- 38:02Speaker 1: in which Cabot was caught on the kiss cam while
- 38:05Speaker 1: wrapped in Barron's arms up into both their lives and careers,
- 38:10Speaker 1: even fueled death threats. Cabot was working at the time
- 38:14Speaker 1: as the head of human relations for astronomer, a tech
- 38:17Speaker 1: company of which Barron was the CEO.
- 38:21Speaker 6: They soon both left their roles.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Both were married when they attended the concert. Cabot was
- 38:27Speaker 1: in the process of divorcing her estranged husband and believe
- 38:32Speaker 1: Barron was in a similar situation. In a sit down
- 38:38Speaker 1: with Opah, Cabot broke her silence. In a pair of interviews,
- 38:44Speaker 1: she's sharing an update with her relationship, saying.
- 38:48Speaker 6: That she ended communication with him last fall.
- 38:54Speaker 1: She said there was a big miss on honesty and integrity.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Wasn't the person he represented himself to me to be
- 39:05Speaker 1: and lying is non negotiable for me. When Opah pressed
- 39:11Speaker 1: on what Cabot meant, saying it sounded like she was
- 39:14Speaker 1: suggesting Byron had lied to her about being separated from
- 39:17Speaker 1: his own wife, Cabot demurred, saying she said it would
- 39:23Speaker 1: be unfair for her to answer that is she knew
- 39:25Speaker 1: what it felt like to have your private life in
- 39:28Speaker 1: the spotlight. I want to be really careful because the
- 39:31Speaker 1: world spoke for me on my behalf, and I don't
- 39:35Speaker 1: want to do that to somebody else.
- 39:37Speaker 6: And their family. It's a little late for that.
- 39:40Speaker 1: However, she said, a lot of what was represented to
- 39:45Speaker 1: me was not true.
- 39:48Speaker 11: So yeah, yeah, basically, yeah, well a lot of words
- 39:53Speaker 11: when you could have just said, well, you.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Know, we do have pictures. So she has a hard
- 39:58Speaker 1: time getting out of that.
- 40:00Speaker 11: Also, I feel like everyone was just starting to forget
- 40:03Speaker 11: about that girl.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Why are you yes, exactly, thank you exactly. We had
- 40:09Speaker 1: all moved on, We had all moved on.
- 40:11Speaker 11: But you said their names and it didn't even register
- 40:14Speaker 11: with me.
- 40:15Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying.
- 40:16Speaker 11: They've already escaped my brain.
- 40:18Speaker 6: Yep.
- 40:19Speaker 11: Well, good luck with the future. I guess I don't know. Yeah,
- 40:26Speaker 11: maybe yeah, even you know, it's good that she was
- 40:29Speaker 11: separated before all that.
- 40:31Speaker 6: I guess, I mean, were you.
- 40:32Speaker 11: Separated because he has yeah, exactly. Anyways, moving on to
- 40:39Speaker 11: one other messy situation, Brad Pitt is pushing to grill
- 40:45Speaker 11: a wealthy Russian businessman about his winery dealings with Angelina Jolie.
- 40:50Speaker 11: I can't believe this is still going on, but like
- 40:52Speaker 11: you know, marriage is tough, but I guess businesses are
- 40:55Speaker 11: even worse. According to court docs, Brad is asking a
- 41:00Speaker 11: LA judge to force businessman URIs Schiffer maybe sheep. I'm
- 41:04Speaker 11: sure that's wrong. To appear for a remote deposition as
- 41:08Speaker 11: part of an ongoing war between the actor and his
- 41:10Speaker 11: ex wife, Brad did to Angelina in twenty twenty two,
- 41:14Speaker 11: claiming she stole or sold her steak in the French winery.
- 41:19Speaker 11: I'm not going to even try to work that without
- 41:21Speaker 11: his permission. The former couple purchased the estate while married,
- 41:25Speaker 11: but Angelina told Brad that she wanted out years after
- 41:27Speaker 11: the divorce. Brad says he tried to buy out Angelina's steak,
- 41:31Speaker 11: but the talks fell apart in Angelina decided to sell
- 41:35Speaker 11: her steak stake to the liquor company Stolely. I don't
- 41:40Speaker 11: know which is run by Uri. I'm the Russian guy.
- 41:43Speaker 11: In his new filing, Brad says Uri has refused to
- 41:46Speaker 11: sit for a deposition, but claims he's learned that the
- 41:49Speaker 11: transaction was orchestrated by and closed at the He's a haste,
- 41:55Speaker 11: I don't know of Uri, insisting that he clearly someone
- 41:59Speaker 11: Brad's Lee team should get to question as a part
- 42:02Speaker 11: of the litigation. Uri has apparently opposed the request, in
- 42:05Speaker 11: part on the grounds of he's a resident of Switzerland,
- 42:08Speaker 11: but Brad isn't budget arguing emails show Angelina and Uri
- 42:13Speaker 11: in direct contact over the winery purchase and demonstrates he
- 42:16Speaker 11: has knowledge relevant to the King.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Brad, though Brad seems to have a hard time letting
- 42:22Speaker 1: things go.
- 42:23Speaker 11: I know, and I mean I don't want to say anything,
- 42:26Speaker 11: but they have kids and those kids are like adults now.
- 42:30Speaker 11: They don't want anything to do with them.
- 42:32Speaker 6: So yeah, I know, I don't know if they keeping.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Up with this secret. Lives of Mormon Wives stars Dakota
- 42:40Speaker 1: Mortenson an ex girlfriend Taylor Frankie Paul, whose Bachelorette season
- 42:47Speaker 1: debuts in a week. The Draper City Police Department in
- 42:52Speaker 1: northern Utah confirm to people there's an ongoing domestic assault
- 42:58Speaker 1: investigation involving those two who have reportedly leveled allegations. When
- 43:06Speaker 1: reached by USA today, the Draper Police issued a statement saying, quote,
- 43:10Speaker 1: it respects the rights and privacy of all citizens without
- 43:16Speaker 1: an immediate impact of public safety. It's the practice of
- 43:20Speaker 1: the department not to release details related to active investigations. Yeah, yeah, oh,
- 43:32Speaker 1: there are people excited about this. They've released the trailer
- 43:37Speaker 1: to the new Spider Man brand new day after. Tom
- 43:43Speaker 1: Holland says, we're doing something that's never been done. Some
- 43:47Speaker 1: of our greatest fans are going to help us release
- 43:49Speaker 1: pieces of the trailer. He tagged an Instagram account from
- 43:55Speaker 1: a fan in Peru who shared a brief two seconds
- 44:00Speaker 1: snippet the clip, showing Spider Man swinging through the air
- 44:04Speaker 1: while holding a person that's what he does, right, No,

- 44:33Speaker 1: Las Vegas who has not yet posted any footage so far.
- 44:39Speaker 6: Dundundun so oh, I just be on.
- 44:44Speaker 11: The lookout for that.
- 44:46Speaker 6: I can't wait for that Spider Man or not.
- 44:49Speaker 11: Well. Speaking of Tom Holland, yes, let's move to his
- 44:52Speaker 11: personal life because India. Yes, it's putting those wedding rumors
- 44:56Speaker 11: to bed kind of okay. In an appearance on Jimmy
- 45:00Speaker 11: Kimmel Life So this past Monday, she addressed speculation that
- 45:04Speaker 11: her and her former Spider Man co star Come Holand
- 45:07Speaker 11: secretly tied the knot. She and Holland have been dating
- 45:09Speaker 11: for several years, and her stylist law Roach previously let
- 45:14Speaker 11: slip that they have been married in secret. I'm sure
- 45:18Speaker 11: you know the internet has gone berserk with stories that
- 45:21Speaker 11: you might actually be married to Tom, Kimmel said, to
- 45:24Speaker 11: which Sindea responded jokingly, really, I haven't seen any of that.
- 45:28Speaker 11: The actress also addressed fake photos that have circulated online
- 45:32Speaker 11: supposedly of her and Holland on their wedding day. The
- 45:35Speaker 11: snaps were actually AI generated. A Zadeya said, I was
- 45:39Speaker 11: out and about in real life and people were like,
- 45:41Speaker 11: oh my god, your wedding photos are really gorgeous, and
- 45:43Speaker 11: I was like, babe, they're AI. They're not real. She
- 45:47Speaker 11: then went to say that she had bought some real
- 45:49Speaker 11: footage of the wedding, only to dupe the audience with
- 45:52Speaker 11: the clip of her new wedding centered movie with Robert Patten.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Is this AI as you know, it's crazy crazy. I've
- 46:03Speaker 1: been dealing with this so much, you know, and having
- 46:05Speaker 1: to deny all these photos that have been coming up,
- 46:09Speaker 1: and you know, all of these stories that you've died
- 46:13Speaker 1: and you know, or you're in a tragic accident, and
- 46:17Speaker 1: it just gets old, you know.
- 46:19Speaker 11: So I've had for people the picture of you and
- 46:24Speaker 11: the Taylor Swift gear.
