Transcript
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: You're thinking about another episode of Reflect, Reclaim and Liberate.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: And today I'm chatting with Lisa Stockman, aka the Queen of Styling.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Lisa was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, and in her twenties lived in Italy and Japan.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: She studied a graduate diploma in education at Melbourne Uni and a Master of Professional Styling at the Australian Style Institute.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Her personal styling career began over a decade ago as a side hustle while owning a clothing boutique here in Melbourne.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: And today she is personal stylist to a diverse range of clients, specialising in working with people who are experiencing life-changing events, gaining a job, getting divorced, beginning to date again, post-surgery, post-baby, or getting ready for an event of a lifetime such as a wedding or significant anniversary.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: So welcome, welcome, Lisa.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: It's so exciting to have you on the podcast.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Sally Ann, for having me.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: I'm really excited about our chat today.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: And can I just say before we get into an amazing conversation that I so wish I had met you seven years ago.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I wish you were in my life and that your podcast was in my life about seven years ago.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Well, thank you.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I think I too wish there was somebody like me when I, well, a bit longer than seven years ago when I separated.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: And I guess that's why I do what I do.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: But thank you.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Thanks for sharing that.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Okay, to kick off, can you tell us a little bit about you, about your journey to the life as the absolute queen of personal styling that you are?
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Well, what can I say?
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: First off the bat, I am um the proud mum of two amazing boys who are 12 and 15 that I love to bits.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Um I'm a complete Italophile, so anything Italian is my jam.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: I'm not of Italian heritage, but I sometimes queried whether maybe mum had had a secret friend.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Um, I've always felt a connection with Italy and currently still studying Italian, which is really fun.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Um, and I absolutely love what I do as a stylist.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: And I guess we'll talk a bit more about that later.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: But I think I really knew my love for clothes uh sort of began from when I was nine.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And I'd go shopping with my mum, and I would scan through a store a rack of clothing, and I'd be able to pick something out for her to wear that would look amazing on her.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: And for me, that was actually more enjoyable than buying stuff for me.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: And as I grew through um childhood and school, I was always the go-to um creating outfits and you know, girls shopping, and that that continued in my 20s.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: I've taken the biggest zigzag path of a career.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: I think I've had more jobs than than most people I've ever met before.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Oh well, welcome to the club.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the club, yeah.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: But the real, I guess my work background comprises a lot in education and also retail.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: And as you mentioned in your introduction, I did have a clothing store.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Um, when I when I started planning to open the denim and basic store in Melbourne, there was a real gap in the market for really great denim and just pieces that women could wear, you know, out at night or on the weekend.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: And it was before the Zara's and the top shops had arrived in Australia.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Um and as a side hustle from that business, uh, customers would say, Can you come and you know fix my wardrobe or can you come and help me buy other things that you don't have in your store?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: And I really loved being with my customers.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: I loved being on the shop floor.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And one thing that really, you know, upset me actually was that in the three years that I had the business, not once did I have a woman stand in front of the mirror and say, I look amazing.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: So it really struck me at the time that it didn't matter if I was helping someone who was a size six model or a size 18 woman.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Nobody seemed to be really happy in themselves.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Um, and that to me was was kind of a sad thing.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Anyway, fast forward from that, I did a lot of corporate jobs uh in training and development, and that was mainly for big retailers.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Um and I loved what I did, but I found myself to be probably a really annoying employee in the fact that I was always talking about style.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: So get me near a water cooler, and that's pretty much all I would talk about.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And so about 19 months ago, I decided that it was probably enough of just chatting about it.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: And, you know, if I was ever going to do it at that point in my life, it was going to be then.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: And so I took the leap and haven't looked back since.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Lisa's stockman styling was born.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Which I guess leads me to the next question I wanted to ask you, as a personal stylist, can you tell us what you actually do?
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: So it's it's an interesting question because the profession of personal styling, I think, is still in its infancy.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of different types of stylists, celebrity stylists, runway, editorial for fashion shoots.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: But as a personal stylist, what I really do is try and connect people back to their authentic self, which sounds a bit strange, but most of my clients, when they reach out to me, are in a phase in their life where the person on the outside doesn't actually reflect who they are on the inside.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: So as a stylist, I see my role is actually just trying to reconnect the person.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: And so I kind of think my superpower is that when I meet someone for the first time, I can actually see so much beauty in them that they've probably lost sight of in themselves.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: And I already know exactly how I would love to help them bring that out.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: So the first part about what I do is really getting to know the person.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that so much.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: And I have not heard you, I have not heard you explain it that way before.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: So thank you.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: My heart gave a little bit of a skip when you said it because you know it's not so we've and we have talked about this, it's not so different from what I do.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: But I just love that you, you know, you can already see the potential, you can see the disconnect and you can bring that together.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: I love it, I love it.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: So, who's your ideal client, or is there even such a thing as typical for your clients?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: I guess what I'm asking here is what's the thing they have in common, which you've just touched on a little, but can you go a bit deeper on that?
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: So as my business has evolved, I'm definitely seeing a pattern in who my client is.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: So she is a woman going through a life change.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: And there's there's typically a few points where someone will come and see me.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: So I have the client who is in their late 20s, early 30s.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: She's really taking a step in her career.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: She knows she may start a family, but she knows right now this is her moment to take that management role or start her own business.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And at that age, they're really trying to step into their confidence and sometimes actually look a bit older than they are.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: So to be taken seriously in the corporate context.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Then I have a lot of clients sort of uh in the 40 to 50 bracket who, and that's probably my main where most of my clients sit, and they're actually going through some major stuff in their life, whether it's um, you know, breakdown of relationship or long-term, long-term relationship.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Maybe they're re-entering the workforce for the first time in you know, over a decade.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Um, potentially they're taking a huge leap in their career.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but it's it's usually those major life change moments.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: And then I have some amazing clients who are in their 60s and 70s who were super young and don't want to look like, you know, our old visions of what a grandma used to look like.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Um, so that they're probably that if I could group people, which I don't like to do, but if I could group them, that's what they would be.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: So I love helping people work through change because I know that can be a really scary time.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And that goes back to what you said earlier about the inside not being reflected on the outside, or vice versa, I can't quite remember how you phrase that, but yeah, that disconnect between how what we're presenting externally to what we're feeling internally.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: And so how do you see or how can our personal style be impacted over time?
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Like if we have been through or going through, if we are going through or have been through a really big life transition like that, how can we reconnect to our sense of personal style and revamp or re-energize or re-emerge?
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: It's a really great question because I I liken someone's wardrobe to their diary.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: So it's a place not many people get to see.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: It houses lots of memories.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Often it's holding on to things from the past.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: So there might be articles of clothing in there from when you're a different weight or a different job or you had a different lifestyle.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: And that's actually can be really hard for people to let go of.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And so trying to bring it back to where you are right now can be quite difficult.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: And I sort of think there's three parts to it.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: So the first part is just stripping it right back and saying to yourself, well, at this point in my life, no matter what I'm going through right now, how do I want to feel?
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: How do I want to feel in myself when I'm stepping out the door?
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: And some of my clients will say, I want to feel sexy, I want to feel confident.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Whatever those words are, write them down.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And it might be just two or three words.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And then I would say, you know, how do you, what sort of image do you want to project?
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: What do you want to step into?
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: And again, it might be things like well presented, professional, authoritative.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: It really depends, you know, where you are in your life, what that looks like.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: And then I would suggest now that you've got those words there and you know how you want to feel and what that sounds like, then go whether you love Pinterest, whether you love scrolling through Instagram, whatever your jam is where you look at images of people and what their style is, just start saving them.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Save them on your phone, save them on a Pinterest board.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: And what you'll notice is that there's some real similarities between what you've chosen.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: And when I work with a client, yeah, we we look at lots of images because we talk about those words.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: So for example, if you've said, you know, I want to feel sexy and confident, and then you're going to shop online or you're shopping in store and you're trying something on, the first thing you should be asking yourself is, how do I feel in this?
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Because if you're not feeling those things, just put the thing away.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: It's just, you know, don't worry.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's gone.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: And likewise, once you've worked out those words and and you've got this picture, you can then go back into your wardrobe.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: And if you're having trouble getting rid of stuff, go back to the question: Does this top, black top that I have 50 of, make me feel sexy, professional, whatever those words are?
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: And if the answer's no, and you haven't worn it in ages, it doesn't deserve to be in your collection anymore.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: So fantastic.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: And again, I have not heard you speak about it quite like that before, but it's exactly what I do with my clients.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: It's exactly where I start with them.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: How do you want to feel?
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: Not how do you want to sort this shit out in your relationship or not how do you want your divorce?
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: That's not where we start.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: How do you want your life to feel?
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: How do you want to feel in your everyday life?
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: Wow, so powerful, so powerful.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: So going on from that, when you lead your client through that process, what's the biggest transformation or change that you see in them?
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: Well, I think there's a few.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: I think the first, them actually picking up the phone to call me is the first part of the transformation.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Because that really is somebody stepping into their vulnerability and going, I need help here.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: I'm feeling really stuck and I can't do this on my own at the moment.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: So for me, even them just taking that step, I think is transformation.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Because once they've done that and we get into our chat, because the first hour with a client is me getting to really listen and understand them, they're we're already working together.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: We're a partnership and it's fine.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: So I think that's the first part.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: The second part is definitely going into a wardrobe because as I said, there's so much emotion tied up.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: But once we get into those words and that picture, and people can actually go, yeah, I don't, I don't need this part of my past anymore.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: And you can see them already changing and embracing that and going, yeah, I'm ready to be who that person who I really want to step into, I'm ready for that.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: And then when I take them shopping and they see themselves in the mirror for the first time in something that actually really represents who they are, their authentic self.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Sally Ann, if I could bottle that moment, and even when I talk about it here with you today, I've I've got goosebumps because that moment for me is that's just gold.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: That's what it's about.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: That's your why, isn't it?
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: That's your why, giving gifting that to women.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 16:15unknown: Yeah.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And then of course, you know, it, you know, whether they message me afterwards and say, you know, I went on that date and, you know, it was amazing, or whatever it is, or I got the job, or I, you know, whatever their success is, because I really do believe if if a woman can step into her confidence, it doesn't matter what age, shape, size you are, that does not matter.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: But if you can step into that person you are at that point in time, whatever you want to achieve is possible.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Tapping into that woman that you most want to be, or the woman that you know is underneath all the layers, whether it be clothing, whether it be experiences, whether it be relationships and roles that we've had to take on, mothering, caring, all the things, tapping into the essence or the core and bringing her out is just an amazing experience.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: And whether you're coaching, whether you're coaching or whether you're styling or whether you're on the receiving end, it's just an amazing moment to be a part of.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Could not agree more.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: And I guess that kind of leads me to the next thing I wanted to ask you about.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: And it's more an expansion of what we've already talked about, but what do you see are the real benefits of doing that inner work, I guess, and deeply connecting with and understanding ourselves, and then bringing that um outward in a in a sense of personal style?
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I think it's the first part is it's actually giving yourself permission.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: And that's a big part of it, is giving yourself permission to feel good again about yourself.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: And it's not about your kids, it's not about your partner, it's not about what other people expect of you.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: It's you doing something for yourself.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: And that is the first benefit because what the way you present yourself is a real reflection on where you're at in your life and how you are treating yourself.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: So it's not about, oh, I've got the latest Louis Vuitton handbag, I must be treating myself really well.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: It's it's got nothing to do with that, but you know yourself when you see someone who's in a good space, they just look radiant.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: And I sort of radiation just came, you know, they radiate joy, energy, positivity, all the things.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they do, they're radiant.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, I hear a lot, which really kind of gets under my skin a bit, but a lot of women say to me, I'm gonna come and see you when I've lost weight.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: And it just drives me bonkers because I think what I do know is that when if a client has said to me, Listen, I really do want to lose weight, I want to feel better about myself.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Often what happens is they'll do a styling session because you can you can dress in a way that you look 10 kilos lighter anyway, if you know what to wear.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: And so they get into this styling situation, they feel amazing in themselves, and then the health benefits continue.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: So they go, I feel really great about myself.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna exercise more, or I'm gonna, you know, do more yoga, I am gonna do Pilates because I've I feel really good.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: And they start actually taking care of themselves.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: So, and don't get me wrong, it's not about weight loss, but that's just an example of what happens.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: So I think, you know, it's that self-care and it and it is one of those things that the more you do and you see the benefits, the more you do.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: So I I often see that in my clients.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: So that's one thing.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And I think the next big part is that when you don't connect to your personal style, you waste a lot of money because you buy a whole heap of stuff that you know you might wear once.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: It clutters that wardrobe.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: And with that clutter, like becomes confusion.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of guilt associated with it.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: And what I talk about a lot with my clients and and on my socials as well is that I say your wardrobe is your personal fashion collection.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: And anything that sits within that has to actually earn the right to be in there.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: And so once you are connected to your personal style, you know what works for you and you know what you need, and there's no clutter in there, you don't succumb to those impulse buys.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: You don't think, oh my goodness, you know, I've got that event, I've got nothing to wear, and I'm gonna go out and buy that sparkly thing.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: And I know I didn't buy the sparkly thing.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: I bought that mushroom beige colored frock that I wore once and hate and is now in the upshop bag.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that one.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: That one the mushroom.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: We've all got those.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: We've all got them.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: And look, uh some people have got more of those than others.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: And but I just feel like, you know, I don't actually have a big wardrobe, but everything I have in it, like people don't believe me, but everything I have in my wardrobe, I absolutely love.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: And I don't double up.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: I buy what I need.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Um, and I make sure that what I buy is when I put it on, I feel the things that I want to feel.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: And that's what I want for my clients and the people that I work with.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: So yeah, there's, I mean, there's heaps of benefits.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: I could talk to you about it all day, but but they're just some of
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I just I keep going back to that point of connecting to who you are, bringing those, you know, grabbing those words, how you want to feel, and then choosing pieces, designing your wardrobe, um, that outward expression, your personal style reflects that.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: It's just so powerful.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: It is, and I I really want, you know, anyone listening to this to really um understand that you know, one of the things that I find when I meet someone for the first time at like at a party or something, and they say, What do you do?
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: And I say I'm a personal stylist, the first thing they go, Oh, sorry about what I'm wearing today, or what do you think of what I'm wearing today?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: And to me, that's that's all around the word judgment.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: And I never go into someone's wardrobe or into their space with judgment because I'm really aware that for them to have me in their space really does take a lot of trust.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: They're putting a lot of trust in me to you know reconnect with themselves.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: That's a really personal thing.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: It's like what you do.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, I don't take that for granted.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it's not for me, it's not about judgment.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: And as you said, opening up your wardrobe to somebody else is like opening up your diary.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: So letting letting you step into my wardrobe would actually be, yeah, would require a significant amount of trust because it does feel vulnerable.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Lise, do you want to share um our exciting news about what's coming up for the both of us in October?
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Yes, I am actually busting to uh share this, and I'm so glad that your listeners will be the first to know.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: So you and I are going to run the most amazing masterclass called From the Inside Out, Reconnecting with the Essence of You on October the 16th.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: I am just so excited to be working with you on this because I think that after what the world has been through, um, we really need an event where people can just kind of reset.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: And I feel like it's I call it the butterfly moment.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: So we've been in this cocoon for so long with COVID and you know the way the world is.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: And I know that I just want to help people reconnect with who they are from the outside part, and then you're gonna talk about the inside part.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's so exciting.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: And it's taken a while to birth this beautiful masterclass into the world, but there are so many similarities with what we do, and it's so exciting to be able to bring it um to your clients, to my clients, to our community.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: It it is yes, off the back of COVID, but I think another thing that COVID and all the lockdowns and the uncertainty in the in the world at this, you know, over these past months has brought to us is is just a bit of an introspection.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: So that opportunity to look and go, well, where am I?
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: What what do I want in my life?
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: How do I want to be showing up?
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: And yeah, so I'll do the inside bit and you can do the outside bit.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm really excited too.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Sorry to cut you off, but I was just going to say, you know, one of the things I'm really excited about is the fact that we our values are very similar.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: And the values that we run our businesses on and what we share with our clients is really similar and we really care about the people we work with.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: And so I think this is also a great opportunity if people have been thinking of working with one of us or both of us.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a great way to sort of get an insight on who we are and how we work.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: So it's exciting.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really exciting.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: And also to be an in-person event is is pretty exciting too.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: It's almost like a little pre-Christmas gift.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: I know it's not near Christmas, but it's what it feels like.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Um October 16th, here in Melbourne, from the inside out, reconnecting with the Essence of You.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: I'll drop all the info for that in the show notes, um, as well as how you can connect with Lisa, um, website, Instagram, all the things if you want to reach out to her.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: She's pretty fun to hang out with on socials.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: So make sure you jump on her Instagram.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: And if you feel called to reach out and connect further, all of that detail will be in the show notes.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: Now, Lisa, my final question is one I like to ask all my podcast guests.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: If you could choose one song to play for women transitioning out of a relationship, wanting to reconnect to their personal style, what would it be?
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: I love this question.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Um, and for me it was a it was a very clear answer.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: It's George Michael's Flawless.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: If you haven't heard the song Flawless, put it on in your car, crank it up.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: Um, imagine yourself going down the catwalk of life, your most confident self.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: And when George is singing in his beautiful voice and he's saying, You're beautiful like no other, you absolutely are.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: And you just got to own it and walk that runway of life with your shoulders back and a massive smile.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: And that is it to me.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: That is it.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: So, so beautiful.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: And again, I'll drop the link to George Michaels Flawless in the show notes so we can all crank it in the car.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Lisa Stockman, Queen of Styling, thank you so, so, so, so, so much for being here.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: Um, it's just been an absolute pleasure.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: And yes, we could talk all day about this stuff.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: Um, but we must wrap up.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: So thanks so much for being here.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Sally and my darling, for having me.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: And can't wait for our October 16.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be awesome.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: Get on to it, people.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Link in the show notes.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: Hope to see you there.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: And what an amazing conversation that was with Lisa Stockman about connecting to who we are on the inside so that we can show up fully as our authentic selves on the outside.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Thanks for being here.
