- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning.
- 0:29From the chicken coop. So can you guess when does the
- 0:33most growth happen for us as humans?
- 0:37Typically, when do you think the most growth, whether it's
- 0:41intellectual growth, spiritual growth, when do you think the
- 0:44most growth happens? Well, let me tell you, it
- 0:48happens in the midst of that period of time that you like the
- 0:52least the conflict. When you're frustrated, you're
- 0:55angry, you're scared, and you are doing the same old thing
- 1:00over and over and over again. You're running your patterns,
- 1:02The drivers are driving and you are beyond yourself.
- 1:07You are just so frustrated, angry you're, you're taxed with
- 1:12this overwhelming sense of feeling like you just want to
- 1:17scream. And then all of a sudden you
- 1:19recognize you have a choice and you choose differently.
- 1:22And you say, I'm not doing this anymore and you let go and you
- 1:26change how you are seeing it. You change your response.
- 1:30And all of a sudden the most important intellectual and
- 1:34spiritual growth that you have ever experienced takes place in
- 1:37that moment. And that may seem like a bold
- 1:39statement, but it's absolutely true because you've broken the
- 1:42pattern. And somehow breaking the pattern
- 1:45is one of the most refreshing, lovely things that we can do for
- 1:51ourselves is when we interrupt the pattern and all of a sudden
- 1:53we become different people. We become something absolutely
- 1:59accelerated beyond where we were.
- 2:01And it feels so amazingly liberating to be able to do
- 2:06something like that and break a pattern.
- 2:09You know, I will say my the biggest chunk of of my personal
- 2:13growth was in areas of pain in my life, for sure.
- 2:17But anxiety being the biggest one that had the earliest impact
- 2:22on me, which is why I'm sitting here talking to all of you.
- 2:24If I hadn't had all of that, I would have never gotten to this
- 2:27point where I do this. And from that understanding,
- 2:32looking back at it, I can see why it was so painful, why it
- 2:35was so hard. But if I hadn't had those things
- 2:37happen, I would never have gotten to the point where I
- 2:39could teach people around it that you have a choice.
- 2:41Now when you're in the midst of it, you don't know that you have
- 2:45the choice because you're so wrapped up in the midst of it.
- 2:48And that's why it's so important to say, can you break this
- 2:51pattern? Can you all of a sudden stop and
- 2:53just say, OK, I can think of this differently.
- 2:55I can be differently. I can all of a sudden focus my
- 2:58attention, ask a better question, which is the whole
- 3:01thing of the bus concept of stop, reflect, choose, redirect.
- 3:06When you are able to stop and say, OK, this is not who I want
- 3:09to be, this is not how I want to feel.
- 3:11And now I'm going to choose something different.
- 3:13I'm going to choose a different driver.
- 3:14And even if you're just choosing to to be, instead of being
- 3:18angry, you're going to be frustrated.
- 3:21That is a win because it's a shift.
- 3:23So what I want to impart on you all today is that it's the
- 3:29smallest of small things are still wins in this.
- 3:32People often think it has to be some some tremendous big thing
- 3:37in order to get it. And that couldn't be further
- 3:39from the truth, you know, especially when you are doing
- 3:42all the other right things. Like let's say you, you
- 3:44meditate, you go to yoga, you're doing all these things, but you
- 3:47still have all this other stuff that happens that pisses you
- 3:51off. And you are trying to figure out
- 3:54how do I get past this? Or it frustrates you, it makes
- 3:56you sad and depressed and you're trying to figure out how to get
- 4:00past it. And even though I'm doing all
- 4:02the right things, something else is going on.
- 4:05It's those moments when you are able to stop and say, OK, wait,
- 4:10I can learn something from this. OK, wait, what?
- 4:13Can I take away and move forward with this?
- 4:16OK, stop. Who do I choose to be in these
- 4:19moments? That's when change happens.
- 4:22And do you have to change things over and over and over?
- 4:25Yes. Will you have to do it multiple
- 4:27times? Yes.
- 4:29Is it something that we like to do?
- 4:31No. But is it effective?
- 4:33Absolutely. So really take ownership of this
- 4:37and recognize that you have the option of how and when you're
- 4:41going to grow. And if you decide that when
- 4:44these pain points show up, I'm going to do the work of
- 4:47debriefing them, I'm going to give myself that gift.
- 4:49And I'm going to walk away from this knowing that I am in the
- 4:53power, I am in the right space all of a sudden.
- 4:56It is absolutely just mind blowing how much different
- 5:01you'll feel and how much freer you'll feel.
- 5:03But you have to take those steps first.
- 5:05OK, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I will see you
- 5:07tomorrow. Bye.
