- 0:30SPEAKER_00: You know, I hit you in the clutch.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Like, we're just gonna go and call it what it is.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I called you last second, like, bro, I need a guest.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Will you join me?
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: You popped up, bro.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Like that's that's main jack.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: You're like that.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: You're like, what are you doing?
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: Are you in the state?
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Come here now.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: That's a bet.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: You're not a bit.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: On my way.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: On up comment.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Love it, bro.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Uh, so I'm gonna read this bio.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: So this is what the streets are saying about Louis Cortesi.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: This is the streets, bro.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Like, this came from me and the streets.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: So you tell me what you think.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Heard it.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: It says today's guest is Louis Cortesi, an international BMX writer, creator, and founder of Take Bun Seriously.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: From Natural Circuit Stag to Global BMX performances, Louis has built a career at the intersection of action sports, storytelling, and culture.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Louis started racing motocross at just three years old, growing up in a family rooted in entrepreneurship and discipline.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: After walking through major life pivots early on, he learned firsthand how resilience, faith, and creativity can shape not just a career, but a calling.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Today, Louis uses BMX, content, and streetwear as tools to inspire joy, purpose, and connection.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: He calls himself a storyteller first, believing that influence is the most powerful when it's rooted in authenticity and lived experience.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Whether he's writing, creating, or building community, Louis's mission is simple but bold.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Take fun seriously.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Story Scale and Louis Curse.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: Oh heck yeah.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: That's spot on, dude.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Okay, bro.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's it's crazy because, like, man, it the season of life that I'm in right now.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like there's so much of that that is so true, but so much of it, it's like, do I believe that as well?
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: It's like this is true, like on paper.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: I mean, absolutely.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: But do you always live up to that expectation that's on that paper, you know?
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: We're going straight into it.
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: They're right.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, dude, you're taking it right there, bro.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Like, usually you get you inch to it, you're getting straight to the meat of the conversation, bro.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: Like, there's no surface, man.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: It's just dive in.
- 2:28SPEAKER_03: Like, that's it.
- 2:28SPEAKER_03: Like, it so it gets me going because as I read that, I'm like, dude, like, I'm like, this sounds cool, this sounds great.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: But then in the back of your mind, you think about like the season of that you're actually in, right?
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: You think about like, man, like do like I said, like, do you believe that in yourself?
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:43SPEAKER_03: Because like it is true, like all those things.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: These are facts, like you can't refute none of these.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, it's it's documented.
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it is.
- 2:50SPEAKER_03: But it's like, is that the truth today?
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: You know?
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: So let's go.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bro.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Hey, all right, here we go.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: My my first question is what stands out to you?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Like, what are the things that you're like, yes, this is 100% Louis C?
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: And then what are some of those things that you're like, man, I'm wrestling with that today?
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Like, I I don't, I don't know, you know.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Dude, you're asking questions that are so relevant already.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: Uh the reality of it is, um, I feel like the thing that I struggle with the most is people, they don't always um they don't always judge you by like who you actually are.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: They just judge you about what you've done.
- 3:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: And so for me personally, it's like I don't believe the things that I've done in my life, whether they're good or they're bad, make me who I am.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: And what I do because of them makes me who I am.
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: And so like if I Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: Say that again.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: So I'm a firm believer that um what I've what I've done, whether it's good or bad, doesn't make me who I am.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: What I do because of what I've done makes me who I am.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, think about it this way.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: For for someone that right that writes music, right?
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: If you just got Roger's block and you couldn't get past a certain lyric, right?
- 3:58SPEAKER_03: If you just stopped there, your story ends there, and that's your fault.
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: It's like if, but you didn't, you you put yourself in the position of like, oh man, I couldn't figure this out.
- 4:07SPEAKER_03: It's like, man, you you were in a struggle.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: It wasn't a problem, it was a struggle.
- 4:11SPEAKER_03: But what you do because of that struggle is really what makes you who you are.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: So I got this thing where I say it's it's not what happens to you, but how you respond.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: It's similar.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's very similar.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Like 100%.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: It rains on the just and the unjust alike.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, good stuff is gonna happen, bad stuff is gonna happen.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: No matter who you are.
- 4:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: So what really makes you who you are is how you respond to what happens to you.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: Or or or how you respond to the positions that you put yourself in.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: It's like it's like in all honesty, it's like I've made a majillion mistakes in my life, and I've been going through a season of reflecting on those said mistakes.
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: And so people point the finger, they're like, Well, you did this and you did that.
- 4:48SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, Well, yeah, I did.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: And that was that person, and now I am this person.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: And so I think I think it's just interesting that um people have a tendency to judge what happens to someone or what that person chooses to do.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: And the idea of they never really realize that they're not.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: How do I put this?
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: People judge without realizing that the grace that God gives to that person that's being judged, they may really hope, and I hope to them that they don't have to be judged by that same grace sometimes.
- 5:26SPEAKER_03: Like j like, like in all seriousness, it's like, yeah, I've been exposed for making mistakes.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: I've made, I've I've made those choices.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: I'm conscious of those decisions, whether it was on a bike, whether it was on Instagram, whether it was in person, whether it was in marriage or whatever it is, right?
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: It and it's and it's and it's a tough thing to grasp because then you you have to figure out like, how did I get to this position?
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: How did I do this?
- 5:47SPEAKER_03: Why did I do that?
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: And then it seems as if society views you from a point of like, oh, because you fell or because you did this, now everything on that piece of paper is meaningless because now you are this because of what you did.
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: And the reality of it is like we're just like we live in grace, right?
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Like in all seriousness, like we really, really do.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: And that kind of led me to this like thought that I was talking about recently was um, I don't very I'm I'm very transparent, I'm very open, and I talk way too much.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: Like truthfully, I really do.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: And I think this is what a like to add on to the question.
- 6:22SPEAKER_03: I think this is like a struggle of mine and and and something that I just can't wrap my head around is and when you talk about things that are deep, when you talk about things that are personal, yeah, you're opening up a door for response.
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: And you don't always expect someone to respond in a negative way.
- 6:39SPEAKER_03: So I made a post recently, and it was just a self-reflection over fake smiles.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: And it was a self-reflection of like, man, like how many times has someone looked at me through my struggle or in a problem and just smiled and didn't really care.
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: And I and so I thought about this.
- 6:52SPEAKER_03: It was like 90% of people do not care that about your problems.
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: They don't care what you're talking about.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: That's a fact.
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: So, what does that mean with 10 to 10%?
- 6:59SPEAKER_03: A lot of people would say, Oh, that means 10% of people care.
- 7:03SPEAKER_03: And I just shook my head, I'm like, no.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: It means 9% of the people are happy that you have that problem and maybe 1% care.
- 7:09SPEAKER_03: And so when I made that post, I had an influx of individuals that came and were like really positive, and then some that were like hatred.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: And then what's what do you do?
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: You you kill them with kindness or you love them.
- 7:22SPEAKER_03: And and I I just like you may have this idea of me, but you don't really know.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: And so it's like, it's like when someone comments about what's happened in your marriage or happened in your life or happened in your relationship or happened in your home, it's like, did you live in my home?
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: It's like, are you I didn't know that I had another sibling.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: I didn't know I had another kid.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: Like, did you All right?
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: Let's dive in here a little bit.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Did you really see it?
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: So I was talking to somebody literally this weekend, right?
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Two days ago.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And we were talking about a conversation based off of how now, if you are 25, if you are 30, if you are, you know, even 40, yeah, you've probably spent the majority of your life being digitally documented via social media.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm at least at least like half of it.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: And so they were saying it gives you the illusion that you really know people when you really don't know these people.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: And so it's interesting because you live in a unique world, like you have actual influence, and then you got social media influence.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: And so you kind of sit at the intersection of action sports, of content creation, of streetwear, of, you know, kind of all of these different.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: And so, how do you personally differentiate between the online Louie versus, you know, the in-person Louis?
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Like you said, when I met you, bro, like you do a good job of representing yourself, you know, on your platforms, like how you actually are, but it's a whole different person.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you don't give the whole world the real Louis.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Like, I know stuff about you that people that just follow your gram don't know about you.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: And so I guess what I'm asking is maybe speak to the tension of is it difficult to encounter those people that you like, bro?
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: You got an opinion, but you really don't know me.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And because you've seen me on Facebook for the last 10 years, you think you know me, but you don't.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Like, talk about your experience there.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Does that question make sense?
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: It makes sense.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: I I see the direction you're going in.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: And and and so uh when we were doing a lot of shows back in the day, something that I always um re would reiterate to kids, especially would be this everyone or no one will remember the times that you said no.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: They only remember the time that you said yes.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: Like, hey man, like you want to come do this?
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: No, dude, that's not that's not how I roll.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: You want to come do this?
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: No, that's not how I roll.
- 9:41SPEAKER_03: And you want to come do this?
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: No, that's not how I roll.
- 9:44SPEAKER_03: The second that you give in, the second that you say yes, boom, I got you.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: And they'll remember that.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: And so it's like one of those things where it's like you land a trick every single day.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: People say you're like, oh, cool.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: And then the one time you fall, it's like, that's when it goes viral.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Yep, that's when it happens, right?
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: That's when it goes viral.
- 9:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:00SPEAKER_03: And so I think people in general see what they want to see.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: It's like right now we have ChatGBT and we have all these resources, right?
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: To give us the answer that we want.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: We can manipulate the system to basically fit the need that we want, or manipulate the system to give them the answer that give us the answer that we want.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: It's like if you try to take the Bible out of context and you try to manipulate it into let me ask this person.
- 10:25SPEAKER_03: This person said this, let me ask this person.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: Well, this person said this, and now this person said this, and now you're clout.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: It's it's hearsay.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: And so for me, I lived a double life for many, many, many years of my life.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Right knowingly and unknowingly.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, what do you mean?
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: So double I.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: And so we're gonna dive in really deep.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: I haven't spoken publicly about this.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: It's this is crazy.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: We go in there.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: We're we can, let's go.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: I don't care.
- 10:47SPEAKER_03: Like at the end of the day, like like you're gonna love me or hate me, and I don't really care.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't have a heaven to put heaven or hell to put anyone in.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: And quite frankly, I think being transparent and being open is the only way to oh no, help people that are in that same position or in a similar position or to stop people from getting to that point.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: Like for me, like I I use the analogy of offense, right?
- 11:08SPEAKER_03: And like I I I have faith, but I'm not very religious, if that makes sense.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: So this idea of offense is like if there was a straight line between you and I and there was offense, and let's say this is a good and evil, right?
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: Or God's world and the world, right?
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: And we went and we continued to live a lifestyle that on social media we looked like we were great, or we looked like we were awesome, or we looked like we had it all together, that our marriage was great, or that our friendships were great, and that I was this honorable individual.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: But then over here, every Saturday night, I was out, or I was drinking or smoking, I was doing something that I shouldn't be doing, whatever that label is, right?
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying that these are the things that I was seeing, yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: But this is um where I shouldn't be, right?
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: And then you go back and forth and then you just play both sides.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: And it's funny because we think like, like, oh, well, we have grace, right?
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: So it's like, okay, like I'm washed in my sins, or um, you know what, like God will forgive me.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: Hebrews 1026 talks about for if you go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there's no longer a sacrifice for sins.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: And so for me, I think um I like a lot of people talk about various different things, but let's just say sin or just bad choices, right?
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: Where whatever side of a fence someone's on, whether they are a believer in any type of faith or believe in nothing, let's just say right and wrong.
- 12:19SPEAKER_03: Like we have a consciousness of what's morally right and what's morally wrong.
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: And so even if that was the fence, morally right, morally wrong.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: And then you get smart and you're like, you know what, I don't want to choose a side, I'm just gonna walk the fence line.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: So I get both.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: And then something comes about comes up to you, I say Satan, and says, good job, like congrats.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: Or it's your ego, or it's someone that comes and taps you on the shoulder and it's like, congrats, you figured it out.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: I own the fence.
- 12:42SPEAKER_03: Like, that's true.
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, and it doesn't mean that like um that you can be perfect, doesn't mean that you're gonna be the greatest individual in the world, or doesn't mean that you're gonna be the crappiest person in the world.
- 12:55SPEAKER_03: And so for me, like when I say I lived a double life, I feel like for me, I just I knew who I was called to be, but I didn't know who I was.
- 13:03SPEAKER_03: And I'm still going through that and I still have to deal with the repercussions of that.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: And I, in the midst of my struggle, a lot of it was self-endured.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: And it's it's tough because we act so much on emotions and not like logical thinking, yeah, that we put ourselves in positions that are, for lack of better words, careless or inappropriate or um selfish.
- 13:29SPEAKER_03: And and so for me, I just acted out like a like a kid throwing a temper tantrum for most of my life because I felt as if like I was supposed to be not deservant of something, but I really felt like, man, like uh my life is supposed to look a certain way.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: And it was because of the people that I surrounded myself with.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: I had a lot of people that told me everything I wanted to hear and said what I was doing was okay.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: Like, like you're good, bro.
- 13:53SPEAKER_03: Don't worry about it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're fine, don't worry about it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: But in the reality, like I exploded my own life for the pleasure of it, if that makes sense.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: And so it's like, yeah, like when I read those things on the paper, it's it's all true.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: Like I have done all those things.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: And but in the midst of doing great things, I did some not so great things and hurt myself and hurt other people.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: And I think that's the reality of like uh of telling stories and going into this, it's like, oh dude, we could talk about so many cool stories.
- 14:24SPEAKER_03: We could talk about so many different things that have very um uh instant gratification value.
- 14:31SPEAKER_03: But what's what is absolute?
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: It's that we have a very limited time here and we have limited interactions with people, and the only thing in in this life that we're guaranteed is to die.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: That's it, and maybe pay taxes if you if you do pay taxes.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: But some people are even skirting around that.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: But the but sorry for the ramble, but no, no, no.
- 14:51SPEAKER_03: It's like as I'm saying this, like I feel like I'm being shaped and changed.
- 14:55SPEAKER_03: And I don't say, and it's like you open the door for criticism.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like, well, I wouldn't have done this.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, great.
- 15:04SPEAKER_03: I'm not you and you're not me.
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: It's like for what one person views as evil, the other person thinks it's okay.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: And that just comes from immaturity.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: But there's an artist named Vin Staples, and he's most famously known for his music, but has recently had a really successful show on Netflix called The Vince Staples Show.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: But he has a philosophy where he says, whether you love it or you hate it, cool.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: But you know, if you if you live for the applause, you'll die by the booze, basically.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: And so I'm hearing some notes of that kind of philosophy.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: And what you're saying, my question to you is how do you actively, like if you were to give somebody a step, you know, process on how to ignore the hate or the negativity that you see on social media, that sometimes is inevitable.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: To your point, like, you know, you can go any direction, whether it's Drake who was at the top of music for however long, and then the second that, you know, he got beat in a rap battle or something, then people started attacking him.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: Or LeBron James, who, yeah, for the first time in two decades is not an NBA All-Star starter.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: And we will hear about this for the rest of his career, the one year that he didn't make it, as opposed to the 20 years that you know what I mean.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: So, like, absolutely.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: How do you in your experience, if you could tell somebody, like, hey, you know, you're gonna see some hate, you're gonna see some of this, and maybe it's not hate, maybe it's just something that's opposing what you think or something like that.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Like, how do you handle that that negative feedback online?
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: Dude, and all in all seriousness, uh, to anyone listening, uh, I I'm still trying to figure that out.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: Like yesterday, this time yesterday, yeah.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: Like someone said something to me, and I immediately just want to respond, not out of anger, but I'm like, you don't understand.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: Like, like, look, can I just explain this to you?
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: Can I just can we just have this conversation?
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: Like if I had time, I would give you the whole spill of how you don't tell you everything.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: And you can still choose to hate me or not.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: Like, just let me explain.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: And I think a lot of people view that as victimizing yourself.
- 17:02SPEAKER_03: It's like, oh, well, you're the victim.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: Like, no, like I'm trying to say the truth.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: And so for me, uh, I had I had someone recently say this to me, actually yesterday.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: Um, they go, are you really going to give your time, which is so valuable, which you can't give back, to someone behind the screen that can't even use their real name on a fake account.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: I said, and she goes, You should be honored that they even took the time to go through and get another email to say a fake name and to come up with that comment and send it to you to try and hurt you.
- 17:36SPEAKER_03: You should be honored that you're in their head that much.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: Like in and it sounds, for lack of better words, it sounds like egotistic or it sounds like I'm on a pedestal by saying that.
- 17:49SPEAKER_03: But the the quick and easy answer is just don't give a crap.
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: Like who the heck cares?
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: Like at the end of the day, if it doesn't directly affect you, like gun to your head directly affect you, whatever answer you have, you're gonna need to get shot or not.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: What weight does it really have?
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: Throw every stone, crucify me for my choices, go right ahead.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: Because it's the funny thing about it.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Like the thing that irks me the most is that the fact that we can point the finger and look at someone that fails, or look at someone that struggles, or look at someone that fell short, like LeBron J falling short.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: And it's all falling short, right?
- 18:26SPEAKER_03: Crazy to think you have the big one of the most successful careers in the history of whatever I'm speculating.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but then you just that one time or that the second time or the third time, or like it it blows my mind that we can judge and not look in the mirror.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: And it just like oh fires me up.
- 18:42SPEAKER_03: I'm like, who cares?
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 18:44SPEAKER_03: Like at the end of the day, dude, you will everyone will stand before a judge.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: And yeah, that's just the truth.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: And so the quick, easy answer is like, how do you um how do you deal with these people?
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: You don't fight them.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: You don't.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: There's you can't.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: No comment warriors.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you don't fight them.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: Don't even fight.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: No.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: If it it it it can I I didn't fight yesterday, but I can it consumed me.
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: My day was over.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: Like I'm not joking, my day was done.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: I got in my head, I sat in the fetal position on the floor, I looked down at my looked down at my floor, I had a headache, and I just got sick, and I just couldn't handle anything.
- 19:24SPEAKER_03: I had like a panic attack.
- 19:25SPEAKER_03: I've never dealt with anxiety until now.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: And it it it and I feel like that's what that person wanted was to me to feel this way, but I don't feel that way because of what they say.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: I feel that way because man, like I I they don't know who I am, and what I did isn't who I am.
- 19:43SPEAKER_03: And it's like, you know what?
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: Like, I I I there's a there's a guy, I can't remember uh the the couple's names, or I would plug them for any mar people that are um dealing with any marriage issues or anything like that, or business issues or whatever.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: Um, they t I I asked him yesterday, I sent him a message.
- 19:59SPEAKER_03: Um, He was in a he was cheating on his wife for 10 years.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: And now they're still together.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: They have kids.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: They have all this stuff.
- 20:07SPEAKER_03: They're like rejoice like their entire marriage has been changed.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: So now they help other marriages.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: And people will hear that.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: Like, what the heck?
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: How?
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: And I read the comments that were done to him.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: People are like, You're a POS.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: Why would she ever stay with you?
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: You're an she's an idiot and you're an idiot too.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: He goes, he goes, You're not wrong.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: She should have left.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: You're not wrong.
- 20:26SPEAKER_03: Miss, you're not wrong.
- 20:27SPEAKER_03: He just loves them.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, dude, that's so crazy.
- 20:31SPEAKER_03: But why?
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: Why does he why can he do that?
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: Because their words hold no value.
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: Only God's words does.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: And it sounds like I sound like a hypocrite.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: But like the reality of it is, is like we like what holds weight in my life is how one, my daughter will view me one day, and I've earned the right to be a freaking dad, man.
- 20:51SPEAKER_03: Like I tell you what, like I love that little kid.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: Shout out to my niece, man.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: Dang right.
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: But like I I don't know.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: As we talk, like I'm I'm learning new things and I'm figuring out new things, and it excites me.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: And so how does someone deal with the haters, I guess, as the young kids will say?
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but that's so bad.
- 21:13SPEAKER_03: But they don't exist.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: Like I I think I think I've been motivated more by people who have disliked me than people who have loved me.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: Because that's the that's the crazy thing too, that's so messed up.
- 21:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: Is that we can literally like, oh, this one, oh boy.
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: Come on, bro.
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: We already there.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: We already there.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: That's bad.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: I've been told a lot by many different people that there's something about you, or there's this, or there's that, even yesterday.
- 21:40SPEAKER_03: Like, and I never really gave a crap.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: I was like, yeah, whatever.
- 21:50SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, cool.
- 21:50SPEAKER_03: Thanks.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Because deep down I just knew like I I wasn't.
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: I'm like, yeah, no, I'm not, there's no way.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: But it was because of one other person.
- 22:01SPEAKER_03: And it was one significant there's been two significant individuals in my life that I've allowed their opinion to control me, consume me.
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: And one was a parent, one was a partner.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: And I don't say this as any judgment towards a partner or a parent.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: But it was just because I held them to such a value.
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: I still held their opinion of me so high that I just wanted to prove something to them.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: That it wrecked me.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: And so and it led me into resentment.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: It led me into so many, so many places that you just get lost.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: And as soon as you go down that path, it's so hard to get back over.
- 22:41SPEAKER_03: And it's almost like you're looking at what your life should be looking like through like a separate window or like like in a different reality, and it's weird.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: But I think that if you if you care, then you lost.
- 22:57SPEAKER_03: Um, and that's just the truth.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: If anyone is listening right now, the only piece of advice I can give you in your in your life is worry and you suffer twice.
- 23:07SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: How many times have we spent worrying on something that never actually happened?
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: Bro.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: Like it's like that idea of like, well, let's talk about like like businesses.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: Let's talk about relationships, or let's talk about like like your like your goals and what you want to do in life.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: Like, scared money doesn't make money is like this whole uh this mentality.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but like that's just the truth.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: Like, if I just sat here and I worried, like, man, like if I buy this hat at$20, like man, I should uh am I gonna be able to sell it at$20?
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: Like, no, just try.
- 23:36SPEAKER_03: Just go ahead and just try.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: Like, it's funny, like, I learned the most valuable lessons in my life, and I still learn by failure.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: By like pure failure.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like on your hands and knees crying, like, what did I just do?
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, failure.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, the the value will teach you way more than the mountaintop care.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: They're right.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: It's nothing to really learn up there.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: You've already done it, you figured it out.
- 23:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the mountaintop is for reminiscing.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: The value is where the work is.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: It's and it's isn't it crazy how many times that we just like we're like, uh, I just want to jump off this mountain.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Oh, bro.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: Let's let's get back to work.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: Literally.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: Like it I I hope this podcast makes sense to someone, but man, like it's I don't know, dude.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm still trying to figure it all out.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: Honestly.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: I think what when I think about you, bro, is it you're a unique person because it's like you have your BMX and your success in this realm.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: And when I say success, I mean doing something that you enjoy, connecting with people and having your health.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: Like, I that's what I view as success.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: You've been across the world on a bike.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Um, and so you got that world.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: And then you actually introduced me to whatnot, which I want to kind of go into and talk about how I didn't realize you was in the street wear like you were.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Like, I knew you came clean with the J's here and there.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: You had your Supreme, your anti-social on.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Like, you feel me?
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: I knew you would be clean, but I didn't realize, like, oh, this might be one of two of these garments that exist.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: And you got that whole world.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: And so what I want to talk about now is that's how I see you.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Like in terms of, um, and we've talked a little bit about, you know, how the streets see you, but when you think about yourself and the platform specifically that you've been able to build, whether that's like long-standing relationships with clients that you have, whether that's like, you know, I'm looking at people saying, like, man, y'all don't even know Louie is the most reputable individual when it comes to streetwear.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Like, that's not a corporation or business.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Like, how did you build that trust in that community?
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: And, you know, you talk about sometimes the negative comments, like, I see people that's saying, like, nah, bro, this the man, don't go to this shop.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: Like, go straight to him.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: You know, how were you able to build an actual following both online and and in real life?
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: It it it's a great question.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: And just to just to end uh the other the other statement, the thing that I was think trying to like tie into was like, why is it that if there was a hundred people telling you otherwise, like, dude, like you're good, like you got this.
- 26:10SPEAKER_03: Why do you believe the one that doesn't?
- 26:13SPEAKER_03: Like, that's just the truth.
- 26:14SPEAKER_03: And so it's like, and that could teeter-totter uh either way, but that's why we have discernment to figure that out.
- 26:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but to to to go back into um to start off what you were talking about with whatnot and all these things, like in all honesty, it was dumb luck.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Like, in that, I feel like that is half of like the battle now, is just luck.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: Like, yes, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: 100%.
- 26:38SPEAKER_03: Absolutely freaking lutely.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's just the art of showing up.
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: Like, that's really what it is.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: For me, I always was um in love with streetwear.
- 26:47SPEAKER_03: I always loved shoes, I always loved clothes, like I thought it was cool.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: I'm colorblind as hell, like I have no idea how to dress myself.
- 26:53SPEAKER_03: I never did.
- 26:54SPEAKER_03: All of a sudden, like I don't know what year happened or what like happened, but I figured out how to dress.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: Let's figure that out, bro.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Like, how did you get, you know what I'm saying?
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: The the interest.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I know we kind of in that backpack blogger era, so we just are looking at the diamond supply and wearing all of this different stuff, but like, how did you go?
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: Because it's not like me who just like to get dressed every now and then.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: It's like, nah, bro, you got the taste and you distribute this stuff, like so.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: Can you pinpoint even remotely at what point it shifted in your life?
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: To are you like, man, not only do I care about how I look now, but I want to help other people get blocked.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: Like, what was that?
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: It's it's weird, dude.
- 27:36SPEAKER_03: Like, I I genuinely like I don't know.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: Like, I know how I got involved.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: Like, I saw a YouTube video by Seth Fowler, which now I'm a friend with Seth, which is so cool.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: Um, and he was basically talking about whatnot.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: What do I know the name, Seth Fowler?
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: He's a he's a sneaker YouTuber.
- 27:52SPEAKER_03: You've probably seen him, and he owns a company called Apothecary, which is like socks and hats and stuff like that.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: The hat that says um pretty much broke, that's his brand.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: That's his hat.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: Um and so I got onto whatnot because of him.
- 28:06SPEAKER_03: And I was so curious about it.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: I'm like, ha, this is cool.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: For those who don't know what whatnot is, because I'm I'm dropping that like it's a normal thing.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: A lot of people still are not hip, but explain explain what it is.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Whatnot is a live auction app.
- 28:20SPEAKER_03: So it is essentially like a Twitch stream, which or like Facebook Live or whatever, a live stream mixed with the opportunity to purchase items.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: So it's a live auction.
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: So every single if I wanted to sell this water bottle, I'm like, all right, guys, I'm gonna start the countdown at 10 seconds.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: And as soon as the clock ends, whatever it goes for, it goes for.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:39SPEAKER_03: That is essentially what it is.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: You invited me to one of your your streams, and I'm on there, and people are purchasing in real time.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: You got like, man, here's the backpack, here's a bathing suit, yeah, here's the uh uh a piece for your wall.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: Here's a lock of my hair, whatever it is.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, whatever it is.
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it and it's it's powerful.
- 29:00SPEAKER_03: It is it is a insane platform.
- 29:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and now all the other platforms have kind of caught on, like TikTok right now is where I'm gonna be moving to.
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: It is bonkers.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like you know how many active users are on Lightnot right now, a month?
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: No, five million.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: You know how many are on TikTok every day?
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: 195 million.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's nuts.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: Tell me real quick, you don't have to get into it, but again, just to kind of close this whatnot loop and show people what's out there.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I remember you were telling me, and you don't have to divorce any of these figures.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: You were saying, hey, this was my best year.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Last year I did X amount in sales, yeah.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: But my friend who sells furniture, this, this, this, did this much in sales.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, talk about, you know, a mentor that you have that distributes, you know, and you streetwear or beyond.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: Like, and you don't gotta drop that name.
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: But I don't care, dude.
- 29:54SPEAKER_03: I am like, dude, like, I don't like at the end of the day, like my mom always tells me, she's like, You gotta stop talking so much.
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: You gotta stop giving people ammunition against you.
- 30:03SPEAKER_03: I'm like, who cares?
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like on at the end of the day, who cares?
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: You can say, How much did your money did you make today?
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: I'd be like, 500 bucks.
- 30:11SPEAKER_03: Okay, good dude, sick.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: How can I do that?
- 30:13SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah, yeah.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: The the real so to to um to answer your stuff the first question and the second question.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: The first question of how you got started, all that stuff with South Fowler and moving into it and like looking into Discords, looking at all of this stuff, I just just became a sponge.
- 30:27SPEAKER_03: I just dove in and I just took a risk.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: I took, I had like$800 to my name.
- 30:32SPEAKER_03: I took$100 and I invested into four different t-shirts.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: I kept one or five t-shirts, kept one one for myself, and I made$300 off the other t shirt.
- 30:40SPEAKER_03: Are you serious?
- 30:41SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 30:41SPEAKER_03: And I I found a Discord um that was like selling products basically.
- 30:47SPEAKER_03: And it was because one of my buddies opened a store and I drove 10 hours to their store to get my first pair of Jordans and the news got a hold of it.
- 30:54SPEAKER_03: There's like a photo of me, uh, like all like you drove 10 hours to buy a pair of shoes.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: I'm like, Yeah, I wanted to support my friend.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: And when I asked them, like, how do you guys do this?
- 31:02SPEAKER_03: They wouldn't tell me.
- 31:02SPEAKER_03: So I just became a sponge and just dove in.
- 31:05SPEAKER_03: And um, one thing led to another.
- 31:07SPEAKER_03: And the very first stream I ever did um was really crazy.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: When was that what year?
- 31:14SPEAKER_03: This was three years ago.
- 31:15SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 31:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, some two and a half, three and three, two, like this, it's it's that range.
- 31:21SPEAKER_03: So it's it hasn't been my life.
- 31:22SPEAKER_03: That ain't long, but it became my life.
- 31:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: And because I I I the first stream I ever did, it took me so long to get to that point.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: Because I was just like reaching out to friends, like, yo, I have these shirts, you want to buy them?
- 31:35SPEAKER_03: Hey, I have these shirts, you want to buy them?
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: And then I applied to be a seller on whatnot, and I got denied.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: I got not denied three times the three times.
- 31:42SPEAKER_03: Like, excuse me.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: I've been a liar, a cheater.
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: I've been a lot of crazy things in my life, and I've messed up.
- 31:48SPEAKER_03: Truthfully, I've messed up.
- 31:50SPEAKER_03: And my story with whatnot starts off with a lie.
- 31:53SPEAKER_03: I took photos of someone else's inventory and submitted it to whatnot because I was so hungry.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: I'm like, give me a chance.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Let me show you.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: And I took photos of the person that I was buying clothes from that he sent me, which was a bunch.
- 32:06SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Well, I'm buying this stuff anyway, so I'm not technically I'm not lying.
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: I'm like, yeah, there's a little like red tea.
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:12SPEAKER_03: And I went ahead and they they said, okay, submit.
- 32:16SPEAKER_04: Good.
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: First stream I ever did.
- 32:18SPEAKER_03: I'll never forget it.
- 32:19SPEAKER_03: I was in my apartment and I had the table in front of me, and I was like in my kitchen, and I was like, what's up, guys?
- 32:24SPEAKER_03: Blah blah blah blah blah, hanging out.
- 32:26SPEAKER_03: I made$972, my first jar ever.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: And I'll uh there's a photo of me.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: Um, and I'm like this, and I'm like this.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: I'm like, with the number.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: I'm like, that's crazy.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:38SPEAKER_03: Like, how much time would I have to work at the coffee shop or how much time would I have done this just to make that much money?
- 32:43SPEAKER_03: And then obviously there's gross margin, there's all these things that come into play.
- 32:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: My but the the my biggest fear in the moment was how do I pack all this?
- 32:51SPEAKER_03: How do I show this?
- 32:52SPEAKER_03: I had to put swear I've never said this before.
- 32:54SPEAKER_03: I had to put every single person's order in a Walmart bag, like a Walmart bag, because I had no idea how to like distribute it.
- 33:02SPEAKER_03: So my very first orders went out and Walmart bags.
- 33:06SPEAKER_03: And I went downstairs to my apartment and I printed out and taped it to the Walmart bags and all that stuff and shipped them out.
- 33:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:12SPEAKER_03: I had no other choice.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: I literally had no choice.
- 33:15SPEAKER_03: I used all like the last bit of money that I had um to do that.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: And granted, like I had I had a partner at the time that believed in it and we went after it and stuff like that.
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: And I'm forever grateful that she allowed me to do that.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: And um, and it was crazy.
- 33:28SPEAKER_03: And then one thing led to another, and then it really grew and became something because of the personality, because of bringing people into your life.
- 33:38SPEAKER_03: Like I would just be on in the morning making coffee and talking.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: Like I would just and I just would answer questions.
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: We'd do like coffee talks where we'd literally be doing like a mini podcast right now.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: Would you be selling anything at that time?
- 33:49SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: I would make money just in tips.
- 33:51SPEAKER_03: Like, and I just from I would I sometimes I would only I would do that just to promote my nighttime stream.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: So I'd go on live stream and be in front of the camera and be like, ask me anything.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: This is who I am.
- 34:00SPEAKER_03: Talk, let's talk.
- 34:01SPEAKER_03: And it gets me a little bit emotional because I'd like, I'm like, I'm there to sell clothes, I'm there to hang out, there to like make money, right?
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: But I didn't realize the influence that I was having on some people's lives.
- 34:12SPEAKER_03: And I feel like as soon as you get close to your calling, there's something that's gonna try and pull you away.
- 34:16SPEAKER_03: And that's what happened to me, genuinely.
- 34:18SPEAKER_03: Uh, but there's a guy named Naners that's says his uh his name on whatnot, and he's my top buyer, top supporter.
- 34:26SPEAKER_03: And he reached out to me one time and he was like, I came onto your streams not knowing about streetwear, but I stayed because of you.
- 34:32SPEAKER_03: He's like, I looked forward to getting up in the morning to listen to you talk.
- 34:35SPEAKER_03: I looked forward to like I was depressed and I would like you gave me joy.
- 34:39SPEAKER_03: And then I fell in love with streetwear as well.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: Like, there's something so crazy about that.
- 34:43SPEAKER_03: No, it's it's like and I and and and it's not me, like like God worked in that moment.
- 34:51SPEAKER_03: Or if you don't believe in God, then the universe, whatever you want to believe in.
- 34:54SPEAKER_03: But the truth is it's God.
- 34:55SPEAKER_03: And the reality of that, like, I just I just kept going.
- 35:00SPEAKER_03: And it just we just were like, screw it, let's go.
- 35:02SPEAKER_03: And then fire and hell and craziness came with it, of course, because the reality of the of the streetwear community is I'm sorry, but it sucks.
- 35:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I'm I'm sorry to anyone listening.
- 35:13SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 35:14SPEAKER_03: What do you mean?
- 35:15SPEAKER_03: Explain when you say that.
- 35:16SPEAKER_03: It's a bunch of goons, dude.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: It's a bunch of people who do not give a crap about you, that do not give a crap about me, that are willing to cut corners and screw you to make a dollar.
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: That is the streetwear community.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, but that is the truth.
- 35:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've dealt with more scumbags and more terrible human beings on the buying side and on the per, like just the buying side.
- 35:39SPEAKER_03: The selling side of individuals of people, they're passionate.
- 35:42SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 35:42SPEAKER_03: They what they like they work their ass off.
- 35:44SPEAKER_03: Sorry to my language, they work their butt off to afford this.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:50SPEAKER_03: Like, and I always tell people, I'm like, I don't, you don't pay me monopoly money, so why should I give you a fake product?
- 35:56SPEAKER_03: There's stores in this area, in our area, that have like that sell people crap and label it as good or label it as something special or awesome.
- 36:05SPEAKER_03: Like at the end of the day, this hoodie is really cool and I love it, but this hoodie is no different than the freaking hoodie at Target.
- 36:11SPEAKER_03: It's the same material, it's the same manufacturer, but this one says Supreme and that one says Target.
- 36:15SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know.
- 36:16SPEAKER_03: At the end of the day, it's like, well, who holds its value?
- 36:19SPEAKER_03: Us.
- 36:20SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 36:20SPEAKER_03: And so I love it.
- 36:22SPEAKER_03: And I've I've fallen in love with the streetwear community, and I love the people that have supported me.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: But man oh man, I've dealt with people that are just wanna be thugs that just wanna show like that they're something special.
- 36:37SPEAKER_03: Like I had someone recently come after me, come after me.
- 36:42SPEAKER_03: And I I thought it was so funny because I didn't realize what was happening.
- 36:46SPEAKER_03: They were on live stream talking trash about me, saying that I was selling fake stuff, that I was this, that I was that, just to use me as the staple point of their conversation while they were the ones actually doing it.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: I'm on the app still, they're not, but they still come after me in the comments.
- 37:02SPEAKER_03: They'll go on fake for fake burner's account and say stuff to me and like come after me.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: And I'll never forget this.
- 37:07SPEAKER_03: And I hope I hope this reaches him.
- 37:09SPEAKER_03: But he said to me, he goes, You're just you're just a broke BMXer, and that's all you'll ever be.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: And I sell clothes.
- 37:19SPEAKER_03: Like, what?
- 37:21SPEAKER_03: He was like, Yeah, you're just the you're just a BMXer and I sell clothes, like as if you were like coming at me.
- 37:27SPEAKER_03: You see how stupid you sound?
- 37:29SPEAKER_03: That's the value that you hold in your life, is that you sell garments.
- 37:34SPEAKER_03: No, I love entertaining.
- 37:36SPEAKER_03: I love being put on trial for my actions.
- 37:39SPEAKER_03: I love talking.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: I love being like, okay, let's go to battle, let's talk.
- 37:44SPEAKER_03: Because I I even told this guy, I was like, dude, like, I don't even know who you are.
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: And that offended him.
- 37:49SPEAKER_03: I'm like, no, I'll be honest, I have no idea who the heck you are.
- 37:52SPEAKER_03: Whatever you think of me, you can you I don't know you.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: And I don't think that this beef that we have is gonna be good.
- 37:59SPEAKER_03: Legitimately.
- 38:00SPEAKER_03: He said the most hateful comments and then blocked me so I couldn't respond.
- 38:04SPEAKER_03: Those are the types of people that we worry about, right?
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: For no reason.
- 38:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, those are the keyboard warriors.
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: Those are the people that we for some reason hold so much value in our head and in our heart that actually mean nothing.
- 38:14SPEAKER_03: Because do you think for a second they're actually thinking about you?
- 38:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:18SPEAKER_03: And so the streetwear community and whatnot and all this stuff is great, but man, oh man, oh man, the behind the scenes is really something crazy.
- 38:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: And um, like I've been shadow banned on whatnot recently, where I used to have 200 people in a stream.
- 38:33SPEAKER_03: I got eight people on a stream because they don't want me talking about these things.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: And so whatnot's a great platform, people make it bad.
- 38:39SPEAKER_03: People make social media bad, right?
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: And so, like, I encourage people to get involved with this that whatnot style, like to get involved in something for themselves.
- 38:50SPEAKER_03: Because, like, the financial thing, it's like you asked me, like, oh, well, is there anyone that you look up to?
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: I I did until I realized that all I continued to do was when I was looking up to other people, was I was actually looking in the rearview mirror and not looking through the windshield.
- 39:05SPEAKER_03: I focused on this little picture of like who I was supposed to be or where I was or whatever it was.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: And I didn't realize, like, dude, like I have so much ahead of me that why am I focusing on what they're doing?
- 39:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:17SPEAKER_03: And because like everything that happens in the darkness will come out in a light.
- 39:21SPEAKER_03: That one's true.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: That's and that's the and that's the greatest thing too.
- 39:25SPEAKER_03: Like, truthfully, even through my sin of infidelity and just craziness, like, and and like, and it's just the truth, like I made mistakes.
- 39:32SPEAKER_03: But like once those evil works were exposed in my life and I could face it and I could open up about it, it just it felt like a weight was lifted off because it's like, man, it just it's tough.
- 39:43SPEAKER_03: It's so hard to live in guilt or to live in fear, to live in shame, right?
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: And so for um, so for me, like I the only goals that I make now are to just try to make the day better than yesterday.
- 39:58SPEAKER_03: Just do the next best thing.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Like, And realize that there's so much that you could live without.
- 40:04SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, like when you make a lot of money, you have a tendency, if you're not prepared, to live to the means of what you're making or live above your means.
- 40:12SPEAKER_03: And that's what happened to me too.
- 40:14SPEAKER_03: So, yes, if we talk numbers, as an action sports athlete, you can make hundreds of dollars.
- 40:20SPEAKER_03: Like, and that's the joke that I always say hundreds of dollars.
- 40:23SPEAKER_03: And but there's a lot of people who make an amazing living.
- 40:26SPEAKER_03: And I was one of those people that was able to pay my bills off riding a bike.
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: What?
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: A kid's bike?
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: Are you serious?
- 40:32SPEAKER_03: Like, that is sick, right?
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: Take everything off the table.
- 40:35SPEAKER_03: I got to ride a children's bike for fun and get paid to do that.
- 40:38SPEAKER_03: That's sick.
- 40:38SPEAKER_03: And I paid all my bills.
- 40:40SPEAKER_03: Like I didn't have to go get a real job.
- 40:42SPEAKER_03: And so I'm blessed for that.
- 40:45SPEAKER_03: I'm so blessed that I got those opportunities.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: And I still can do those things.
- 40:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: But when you work for someone else, someone else puts a value of what your time is worth.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: When you work for yourself, you're in charge of that, but also you're responsible because for a long time, I was irresponsible with my time.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: And like God calls us to be good stewards of our time.
- 41:10SPEAKER_03: Like my buddy Ron, he used to work, he um he was working at Transformation Church underneath Michael Todd.
- 41:15SPEAKER_03: And Ron is just an awesome dude.
- 41:17SPEAKER_03: Love this guy.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: Shout out, Ron.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: Shout out.
- 41:19SPEAKER_03: And love the legend.
- 41:21SPEAKER_03: And he around his neck, he always wears this little mustard seed.
- 41:25SPEAKER_03: Like, this is the amount of faith that you need.
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: And we always would get into it and these some really cool conversations, and just the optimism that he had through these types of situations.
- 41:35SPEAKER_03: It was just crazy to me.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: And so, like diving, diving a little bit deeper, like into the financial side and stuff like that, it whatnot changed my life.
- 41:47SPEAKER_03: Like, like, like totally changed my life, and still changing my life.
- 41:51SPEAKER_03: Like I'm able to wake up in the morning at whatever time that I want, hit go live.
- 41:58SPEAKER_03: And then there's a group of people, whether there's 10, 20, 100, or a thousand that want to either hear me talk or buy a product.
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: Zero.
- 42:06SPEAKER_03: And that's really cool.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: And I encourage someone, I'm like, hey, what would$250 a week extra per month, like per week do for your life?
- 42:16SPEAKER_03: That's a thousand dollars a month.
- 42:17SPEAKER_03: A lot of people were like, that would be everything.
- 42:19SPEAKER_03: That would be this payment.
- 42:20SPEAKER_03: That would be this.
- 42:21SPEAKER_03: That's most of my rent.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: That's this, that's that.
- 42:23SPEAKER_03: I'm like, okay, well, someone else put a value on your time.
- 42:25SPEAKER_03: What can you do as a service to someone else to get paid for it?
- 42:28SPEAKER_03: A lot, and then and that's why like the TikTok thing and stuff like that, like the live battles and all that stuff.
- 42:32SPEAKER_03: I don't get it.
- 42:33SPEAKER_03: It's like for me, it's just like glorified panhandling, which, hey, no disrespect.
- 42:37SPEAKER_03: And a lot of people make a lot more than more money than I do doing that.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: But like you can literally like take people's car seats and wash them and on Facebook Marketplace.
- 42:48SPEAKER_03: And some mom will pay you 20 bucks to do that.
- 42:50SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 42:51SPEAKER_03: Or 50 bucks to do that.
- 42:53SPEAKER_03: Or you go thrifting and you resell it on Facebook or Depop.
- 42:57SPEAKER_03: Like, there's so many ways to do it.
- 42:59SPEAKER_03: But why don't we always do that?
- 43:01SPEAKER_03: And it's because of fear.
- 43:03SPEAKER_03: And it's because we love stability.
- 43:06SPEAKER_03: We love the feeling of just being secure and making sure, like, you know, I you know this is where my this is where I'm getting fed.
- 43:12SPEAKER_03: I can't go outside of that.
- 43:13SPEAKER_03: This is where I'm getting my money.
- 43:14SPEAKER_03: I can't go outside of that.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: I've always thought the complete opposite.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: And that's honestly gotten me into a little bit of trouble as well.
- 43:20SPEAKER_03: But I'm just like, dude, screw that.
- 43:22SPEAKER_03: Like, let's figure it out.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: Like, like spontaneous deviation is just that act of like, hey, can you come do this podcast right now?
- 43:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's go.
- 43:31SPEAKER_02: Like, let's go do that.
- 43:33SPEAKER_02: And that's what happened here.
- 43:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:34SPEAKER_03: And so from the financials of whatnot, I've had friends that have made millions of dollars a year.
- 43:40SPEAKER_03: I know friends that have made a million dollars already this year.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: Off of live bidding in an app.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Like, whereas you would be scrolling Facebook Live, that person is just selling their product.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: Millions.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:52SPEAKER_03: How how many times how much time do you spend scrolling?
- 43:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:55SPEAKER_03: When you could spend time like selling?
- 43:58SPEAKER_03: Like that's sick.
- 43:58SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, oh, dude, there's so many, like, uh, there's so many ways to do it.
- 44:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:05SPEAKER_03: And it's cool because, like, it's not rocket science, but entertainers win.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: Like, you have to be a personality.
- 44:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:14SPEAKER_03: You have to show up.
- 44:15SPEAKER_03: And that's it.
- 44:16SPEAKER_03: Like, at the end of the day, you just have to show up.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about that a little bit.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Because when I whenever I'm conversing with you, you chill, you lay back, we laugh and get silly and you high energy.
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: I didn't brought you out on stage in front of 3,000 people that you were able to turn the crowd up.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: But you pretty much, what you see is what you get, even kill.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: Not super high highs, not super low lows.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: And so even when you say a personality or entertainment, yours ain't screaming at a microphone like me.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: Yours is more like tranquil, relaxed, connecting with people.
- 44:45SPEAKER_00: So even talk about that.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: Like, how do you find your style of entertainment?
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: And how does it work for somebody who's like, man, I'm more soft spoken.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: This can't this can't work for me.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: Like yeah.
- 44:55SPEAKER_03: Well, people hate being in front of cameras.
- 44:57SPEAKER_03: Like that's the difference.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: Like people who want to be in front of the camera are people who hate it.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: And like it's like the behind-the-scenes people, the in the front, like the in-the-scene people.
- 45:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: Um, I I it's weird.
- 45:08SPEAKER_03: Like, you just have to like it's just showing up.
- 45:11SPEAKER_03: Like, I have a light switch.
- 45:13SPEAKER_03: Like it, I can flip it on right now.
- 45:16SPEAKER_03: And I know that and it is me, it's a part of me.
- 45:20SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 45:20SPEAKER_03: Like that, I think that's something that we get so misunderstood.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: Is that like, oh, well, you just flip a light switch, now you're a different person.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: No, I am the same exact person.
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: It's still me.
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: It's me.
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: But like, I just this is what I'm putting my energy towards.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: So it's like, dude, like right now, you can say flip the switch and go into auction mode.
- 45:37SPEAKER_03: Bro, I can do it right now.
- 45:39SPEAKER_03: Or go into uh go into you got three items to sell me.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: You got the cup, you got the coaster, you got the you got the bottle.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: Like what not stream is live in three seconds.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: Two, one.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: What's going on, guys?
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: Dude, we have this podcast mug.
- 45:53SPEAKER_03: I'm so excited for you guys to get this one.
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: We only have one of them left.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: That is it.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: $50 value right now at a dollar, no matter what.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: This is going home with you in 10 seconds.
- 46:01SPEAKER_03: So you guys better get it.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: There's a hundred people in here.
- 46:03SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: Well, listen, there's only one of these.
- 46:05SPEAKER_03: In three, two, one, go.
- 46:07SPEAKER_03: Yo.
- 46:08unknown: That's it.
- 46:09SPEAKER_03: Like, that's literally it.
- 46:11SPEAKER_03: Like, and then it's a frenzy of impulsive buying to try and buy it.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:16SPEAKER_03: And that's and it's crazy.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: How much of the that was incredible, by the way.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: Bro, I didn't see you, I didn't see you in action.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: It's nuts.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: Like, it's nuts.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: And you got this way of engaging and connecting with people, but also it's it's almost like showmanship.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: And so when you say it's just about showing up, how much of that skill that you now possess, bro?
- 46:46SPEAKER_00: You did that at the drop of a hat.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: Like, how much of that is just countless reps until you get to that?
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: Because I think sometimes we have this misconception that you're going to start at the finish line.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: But it's like, nah, bro, you got to post some bad content before you can get to the good content.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: Like, you got to have the Walmart sacks that you're sending off before you can get to the, you know, how much, how much of that is showing up in repetition?
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: I think it's just embracing being embarrassed.
- 47:10SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 47:11SPEAKER_03: Like, be embarrassed.
- 47:12SPEAKER_03: That's sick.
- 47:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:14SPEAKER_03: Like, like, like my buddy told me yesterday, I sent him the the a couple comments that people had made towards me.
- 47:20SPEAKER_03: And he goes, he goes, no one became something by everyone liking them.
- 47:25SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 47:25SPEAKER_03: He's like, get over it.
- 47:26SPEAKER_03: He's like, it doesn't matter.
- 47:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: And so to like tie it into everything from like when, like, yeah, I was able to flip that switch, and and some people can't, right?
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: Like some people are really chill.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: Everyone has the people that they can reach.
- 47:41SPEAKER_03: It's like you could reach the music community way better than I can.
- 47:46SPEAKER_03: Yes, do I have connections to that community?
- 47:47SPEAKER_03: Have I been involved in that community?
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: But because of who you are, you can reach them.
- 47:52SPEAKER_03: So it's like with the biking community, like I could reach the bike community way before you could because that's who I am.
- 47:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:59SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 47:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 47:59SPEAKER_03: And so I don't think that anyone has the correct formula.
- 48:05SPEAKER_03: I think the only correct thing is showing up.
- 48:07SPEAKER_03: Because I had a I had a really, really big problem with yes, I made$972 in that stream, right?
- 48:14SPEAKER_03: And probably took me five hours to do it.
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: But then we transitioned into like, can we do$1,000 an hour?
- 48:19SPEAKER_03: Can we do this?
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: Can we do$1,000 in under an hour?
- 48:21SPEAKER_03: Can we do$1,000 in 10 minutes?
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: What can we do?
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: How like what can we really do?
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: Can we take this?
- 48:27SPEAKER_03: And that sounds really cool.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: And we we could figure it out.
- 48:30SPEAKER_03: We could do it.
- 48:31SPEAKER_03: But then what are you doing anymore?
- 48:34SPEAKER_03: What's the goal?
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: Where, like, where's your personality?
- 48:37SPEAKER_03: Is it just about money?
- 48:38SPEAKER_03: Is it just about this?
- 48:39SPEAKER_03: What is it about?
- 48:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:40SPEAKER_03: And so I don't, like I said, I don't think anyone has the correct recipe that everyone can follow to make a the perfect scenario.
- 48:46SPEAKER_03: But I think that if you embrace exactly who you are and you're okay with that and you're you're comfortable with being uncomfortable, then you'll figure it out.
- 48:54SPEAKER_03: Like there's no it's a lot of it's luck.
- 48:58SPEAKER_03: I'm like, I swear to you, a lot of it's luck.
- 49:00SPEAKER_03: But and and then they're like, because like here's the thing like at the end of the day, so many people get so discouraged about social media, right?
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: Like, oh man, I posted five likes, or I'm not gonna post this, and I've done that before.
- 49:12SPEAKER_03: You do realize we're fighting an algorithm, right?
- 49:15SPEAKER_03: You do realize we're fighting something that doesn't actually freaking exist.
- 49:17SPEAKER_03: You're giving a crap about a computer, bro.
- 49:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like at the end of the day, like, dude, I want to delete my phone.
- 49:24SPEAKER_03: I just want to throw my phone in the ditch and walk away, bro.
- 49:27SPEAKER_03: I hate it.
- 49:28SPEAKER_03: I freaking hate it.
- 49:28SPEAKER_03: Literally, dude, I'll freaking throw my thing right now.
- 49:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, don't I believe you, I believe you.
- 49:32SPEAKER_03: I'm done, I hate it.
- 49:33SPEAKER_03: But like the reality is like, man, like it there's so many ways that we can like that we can like honestly, dude.
- 49:48SPEAKER_03: Like, there's just so many ways that you can be that that just a little bit better.
- 49:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:53SPEAKER_03: Or just like get out of that system, get out of that rut.
- 49:56SPEAKER_03: And for me, I've always tried to think of things in a different way.
- 50:01SPEAKER_03: Comparison is the thief of joy and it's a thief of success.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: And I got caught up in the and I'll never allow myself to do that again.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: Bro, you've been dropping so many gems.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: All right, five minute rapid fire right now.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: Oh boy.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: I need to know from you the number one don't do this thing, or the number one you should do this thing, as anyone that's a creator, whether that's on whatnot, whether that's on Instagram, like if you're trying to build something, a following, a community, a platform, what is your number one do and your number one don't do?
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: Number one do.
- 50:39SPEAKER_03: And you kind of maybe spoke to it already with showing up, but like I mean, there's the number one do is showing up.
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's showing up and being unapologetically you.
- 50:49SPEAKER_03: Don't ruin other people's lives trying to get a bag or trying to accomplish things.
- 50:54SPEAKER_03: Like that is the biggest don't.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: Don't bring someone else into your dream.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: Don't bring someone else into your dream that doesn't believe in your dream.
- 51:04SPEAKER_03: It's yours.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: Figure it out.
- 51:06SPEAKER_03: If you have a good support system, great.
- 51:08SPEAKER_03: If you don't, sorry.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: Figure it out.
- 51:11SPEAKER_03: Like I had a lot of the most successful people in the world are super selfish.
- 51:18SPEAKER_03: And if you could figure out a way to not be a POS and to not hurt people to get to where you want to be, do it.
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:26SPEAKER_03: If if it's okay, you know what, this person might get hurt.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: It's like, uh, do I save this person and this people live type of a scenario?
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: Don't do it.
- 51:34SPEAKER_03: It's it's not worth it.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:36SPEAKER_03: Because people will always remember the time that you did it.
- 51:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:39SPEAKER_03: Not all the times that you didn't it.
- 51:41SPEAKER_03: And so I think, and I know that if you asked me right now again, you're like, okay, if you could restart, because that's ultimately too.
- 51:51SPEAKER_03: It's like you learned from your mistakes, you've done good things, you've done this, you've done that, the do's and the don'ts.
- 51:56SPEAKER_03: I still have not grown a platform very big.
- 51:59SPEAKER_03: I have an account that I don't even use with six figures amount of followers.
- 52:04SPEAKER_03: And I just stare at it like, am I gonna use this?
- 52:06SPEAKER_03: Am I gonna do this?
- 52:08SPEAKER_03: Get out of your own way.
- 52:11SPEAKER_03: That's what you have to do.
- 52:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:12SPEAKER_03: The biggest do is just show up, get out of your own way, and put in the work.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: It might take a day, it might take a year, it might take 10 years.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: But like if you're doing something you absolutely love, then great, good for you.
- 52:23SPEAKER_03: Keep doing that because the don'ts like will start to fade and you will start to get into a system and you'll figure out like what you what you need rather than what you want.
- 52:34SPEAKER_03: Um and if you ask me, like like I said before, what would you do if you could start all over again?
- 52:40SPEAKER_03: Is recognize the people who actually support you and stop trying to go after their approval of people who don't really because it it will make or break you.
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: Um don't live above your means, live below your means.
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: Just because you made this amount of money doesn't mean you could spend that amount of money.
- 52:57SPEAKER_03: I had to learn that.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: Um and I'm still dealing with the repercussions of that.
- 53:01SPEAKER_03: Um I think uh a big do is love people, meet people where they're at.
- 53:09SPEAKER_03: The day that you know that you're successful is the day that you don't care about how much you do for other people.
- 53:14SPEAKER_03: That's just the truth.
- 53:15SPEAKER_03: Um and don't don't give up.
- 53:21SPEAKER_03: Don't allow someone else to tell you no.
- 53:24SPEAKER_03: Unless it's an actual harm to you, like show up and keep going.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 53:30SPEAKER_03: And some days it's gonna be hard.
- 53:33SPEAKER_03: Some days you're gonna feel like you don't want to get up.
- 53:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, some days you're you're gonna feel like, dude, I just can't do this.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: And I deal with those days every single day.
- 53:40SPEAKER_03: I'll wake up and I'm like, wow.
- 53:44SPEAKER_03: But the same decision that it makes for someone to become obese is the same decision that it makes.
- 53:49SPEAKER_03: It's just as easy to get in shape.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: It's either neglect or showing up.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: It's the truth.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: Man, bro.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: Listen, thank you.
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: Like you drop some gems.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: One now we're playing this or that, real quick, rapid fire.
- 54:03SPEAKER_00: One has to go, Supreme or Antisocial Social Club.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: Anti-social club.
- 54:07SPEAKER_00: Has to go?
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: Has to go.
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: Shit! Supreme One Air Force Ones or J's?
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: Jays.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: Gotta go?
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: No, Air Force Ones go, Jays stay.
- 54:15SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: Skinny jeans or baggy Jays.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: Skinny jeans have to leave.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Limited drops or open access releases.
- 54:22SPEAKER_03: Oh, no more limited drops.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: No more?
- 54:25SPEAKER_03: No more.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: No.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: Because everyone bots it and it's impossible for a real person to get it.
- 54:30SPEAKER_03: Done with exclusivity like that.
- 54:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I think open drops, if you actually I think open drops for me would be like, come show up.
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:39SPEAKER_03: Gotta come to the store.
- 54:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:40SPEAKER_03: That type of thing would be great.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: Worst fashion trend you've ever seen come back.
- 54:47SPEAKER_00: Mullets.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:51SPEAKER_00: Most overrated piece of streetwear right now.
- 54:54SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh, dude.
- 54:56SPEAKER_03: All of it.
- 54:56SPEAKER_03: No.
- 54:57SPEAKER_03: Um, the most overrated, I aren't like dead serious, is the entire, I'm sorry, the entire brand of it's it's an awful lot of cough syrup.
- 55:08SPEAKER_03: Why do you want to wear something that says it's an awful lot of cough syrup?
- 55:11SPEAKER_03: I don't get it.
- 55:12SPEAKER_03: I don't, I just don't understand.
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: This t-shirts go for 70, 80, 100 bucks.
- 55:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 55:16SPEAKER_03: I don't understand it.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: What brand fell off the hardest, in your opinion?
- 55:21SPEAKER_00: Ooh.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: Fell off the hardest.
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: It was popping at one point, and then I think a lot of brands are uh just to just to give shared said light in this 90% of the street wear that you see out there is really is highly replicated.
- 55:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: The one brand that I can think of is as a whole, it's V-Lone, all the rapper V-Lone, all that stuff, the big V on the back, all that is all remake stuff.
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: It's impossible, nearly impossible to get stuff that's real.
- 55:47SPEAKER_03: Um but as a brand that people would recognize or know in the street wear community, I feel like the one that really fell off the most was Antisocial Club.
- 55:54SPEAKER_03: After they got sold um to Martha Stewart's company, um, it just did wasn't the same.
- 55:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 56:00SPEAKER_03: But anti-social club is the easiest, eat the most easy acceptable, like easy, it's very accessible to people because even if you don't know streetwear, the anti-social social club is just like, oh, I want that.
- 56:11SPEAKER_03: That's tight.
- 56:11SPEAKER_03: So it's cool.
- 56:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 56:13SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: One more thing.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: Write the outfit.
- 56:17SPEAKER_02: Get out, dude.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: No.
- 56:21SPEAKER_02: No.
- 56:24SPEAKER_02: Write the fit, bro.
- 56:25SPEAKER_02: Write the bro.
- 56:25SPEAKER_02: Write the fit, bro.
- 56:27SPEAKER_02: You got 60 seconds, bro.
- 56:28SPEAKER_02: Write the fit.
- 56:29SPEAKER_02: No.
- 56:30SPEAKER_02: Write the fit, Bob.
- 56:31SPEAKER_02: Write the bit.
- 56:32SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 56:34SPEAKER_02: Write the fit.
- 56:35SPEAKER_02: My eyes are burning.
- 56:36SPEAKER_02: Write the fit.
- 56:38SPEAKER_02: Write the god the cameras.
- 56:43SPEAKER_02: Get rid of it.
- 56:44SPEAKER_02: No, dude.
- 56:46SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 56:47SPEAKER_02: See, this is what a homeschooled kid that's colored blonde would wear.
- 56:51SPEAKER_02: This is exactly what it is.
- 56:53SPEAKER_02: So we'll be right in the fit, Louie.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 56:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, Gumma.
- 56:56SPEAKER_02: Negative 10.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: I'm done.
- 56:59SPEAKER_02: Young thug there.
- 57:00SPEAKER_02: Look at him.
- 57:01SPEAKER_02: Gosh.
- 57:02SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 57:03SPEAKER_02: Let me get a butt out.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: I did not.
- 57:05SPEAKER_02: Hold this up as my mugshot, dude.
- 57:09SPEAKER_02: This is like my mugshot.
- 57:12SPEAKER_00: That's hilarious.
- 57:13SPEAKER_00: Bro, you came through in the clutch, dropped some gems, and had a lot to add to the conversation, bro.
- 57:20SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you joining me.
- 57:21SPEAKER_00: And uh we'll do this again.
- 57:23SPEAKER_00: Dang right.
- 57:23SPEAKER_03: Well, I appreciate you, man.
- 57:24SPEAKER_03: This is uh this is cool.
- 57:26SPEAKER_03: I'm excited.
- 57:27SPEAKER_03: My brother Louis C.
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: Love you.
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: Thanks, bro.
- 57:29SPEAKER_03: Love you, man.
