- 0:44Speaker 4: Enjoy the show.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:17Speaker 2: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:18Speaker 5: I'm Brian.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm Misty.
- 1:20Speaker 6: And I'm Jay.
- 1:20Speaker 1: And we're coming to you live via digital recording from the.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Bastion of awesomeness.
- 1:26Speaker 7: It's super messy right The hell you say.
- 1:43Speaker 5: I know, right?
- 1:44Speaker 7: If it's like that every time, it can't be messy
- 1:46Speaker 7: this time.
- 1:46Speaker 5: There's an extra stack of books here and there.
- 1:49Speaker 7: That's just accumulating. That's different. That's adding to your collection.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Bastion of not putting shit away.
- 1:57Speaker 7: Hey, I live there, too. Mine is just shifting things.
- 2:01Speaker 7: I need to be in here.
- 2:02Speaker 5: You can't give me too much shit about it. By
- 2:04Speaker 5: the couch, there is a box of break discs in
- 2:08Speaker 5: a box, so I don't want to hear it.
- 2:09Speaker 8: I know.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm not giving you shit about it. I'm just saying.
- 2:13Speaker 7: Okay, like for the car.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I was really hoping he was just accumulating all the
- 2:17Speaker 3: break-in movies on disc.
- 2:19Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 2:21Speaker 7: That's like functional.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I got a break-up grade for my car that I
- 2:24Speaker 1: bought a couple months ago that I haven't put on
- 2:28Speaker 1: my car because that requires me to do more work
- 2:30Speaker 1: after I get off work. Fuck that mess.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I just assumed we were going to have to watch
- 2:37Speaker 3: break-in 2 and Beat Street. So we could then figure
- 2:42Speaker 3: out what was the superior film. Maybe throw some crush
- 2:46Speaker 3: groove in there, you know.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you done lost me.
- 2:51Speaker 7: So, how's it going?
- 2:54Speaker 5: It's going. Pretty exciting, I know.
- 2:57Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 3: We're getting back into like normal things-ish. So, just kind
- 3:04Speaker 3: of getting slowly closer to normal life, sort of.
- 3:09Speaker 1: My life hasn't changed.
- 3:10Speaker 7: Yeah, I know. I've said that many a time.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Everybody else's life. Everybody's like, well, the new normal. I
- 3:15Speaker 1: was like, I'm still living the same old normal.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Aside from the masks, everything's... We never left work.
- 3:22Speaker 7: We still go places. It's been my thing, too. Everything's
- 3:25Speaker 7: been kind of the same.
- 3:27Speaker 3: And I've realized I don't... The only places that I
- 3:30Speaker 3: go now are the same places I went.
- 3:32Speaker 7: Before, really.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Just less conventions.
- 3:34Speaker 7: Yeah, just that kind of stuff. But everything.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Week to week, like, oh, I gotta go buy some groceries. Oh,
- 3:40Speaker 3: I gotta go stock up on Legos or whatever dumb
- 3:43Speaker 3: thing I'm buying that week.
- 3:44Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like... Mine's books. I still go. I still
- 3:47Speaker 7: go get the same crap that I need to get.
- 3:49Speaker 7: I just put a dumb mask on. Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 1: No matter what your stance is on masks, which I
- 3:53Speaker 1: really don't care, but I tell you one thing... they
- 3:58Speaker 1: do help me avoid people that I'm trying to avoid
- 4:01Speaker 1: because they don't know who I am.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I think that all the time. Actually, I start to
- 4:05Speaker 3: notice somebody and go, do I know them? And then
- 4:07Speaker 3: I'm like, Oh, I don't really have to worry about it.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Cause odds are they don't recognize me either. So yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 3: just going to keep walking.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So yeah, the people that I try to avoid, it's
- 4:17Speaker 1: a lot easier to avoid them.
- 4:19Speaker 7: I have been looking for a time when I could
- 4:21Speaker 7: put on like a bandana and Be like a cowboy.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I've seen people like that. There was a guy driving
- 4:26Speaker 1: around yesterday that had a little cowboy bandana.
- 4:29Speaker 3: There was one standing at the crosswalk. He went and
- 4:31Speaker 3: got himself a drink at the grocery, or no, the
- 4:34Speaker 3: little gas station store. And he came and stood out
- 4:36Speaker 3: there with his big bandana on. I was just like,
- 4:38Speaker 3: we are kind of in the old west at this point.
- 4:40Speaker 3: We're just wearing bandanas and people doing whatever the hell
- 4:44Speaker 3: they want and staying away from each other.
- 4:47Speaker 5: I tell you one thing, though. I am going to
- 4:48Speaker 5: miss the social distancing. Because people are starting to get
- 4:51Speaker 5: a little bit too comfortable.
- 4:52Speaker 7: A little bit doesn't go away. No.
- 4:54Speaker 5: See, I've gone this entire year without having to snap
- 4:57Speaker 5: too much at anybody.
- 4:58Speaker 7: Because you haven't been around people.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I mean, I've been around people, but they've pretty much been, like,
- 5:03Speaker 5: following the rules. At least, you know, staying at least somewhat.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Don't be right up on me. I went to the bookstore. Shocking.
- 5:10Speaker 5: I know.
- 5:11Speaker 7: I am shocked.
- 5:12Speaker 5: I know, right? And I'm looking at a shelf. And
- 5:15Speaker 5: this bitch came to stand. directly behind me because she
- 5:20Speaker 5: wanted to look at the exact same fucking shelf I
- 5:21Speaker 5: want to look at.
- 5:23Speaker 1: There's a sign.
- 5:24Speaker 5: There's a sign on every one of the half-price bookstores that.
- 5:27Speaker 7: Says one person per alcove.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah, each little alley there.
- 5:31Speaker 5: It says one person. One person.
- 5:33Speaker 3: And most of the time I'm standing there going, oh wait,
- 5:35Speaker 3: is there somebody here? Because I only notice when I'm
- 5:37Speaker 3: already there.
- 5:37Speaker 7: And obviously everybody has that problem.
- 5:40Speaker 5: I'm standing there and I'm looking and she comes and
- 5:42Speaker 5: she's literally breathing down my neck. And of course I
- 5:45Speaker 5: give her the aggravated deep sigh, turn around and look
- 5:48Speaker 5: at her. And she says, no. Oh, no, you're okay.
- 5:55Speaker 7: Well, then, it's a good thing you didn't get in
- 5:57Speaker 7: her way.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Oh, no, you're okay. And I'm like, no, I'm not,
- 6:02Speaker 5: because there's not supposed to be one person in this
- 6:04Speaker 5: aisle at a time. She's like, oh, well, excuse me.
- 6:07Speaker 5: And I'm like, bitch, can you not fucking read? Why
- 6:10Speaker 5: are you looking at books if you can't read the
- 6:12Speaker 5: sign that says to not be here? Don't look at
- 6:13Speaker 5: these books at the same time.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I go to those bookstores all the time, and I
- 6:16Speaker 3: don't know how to read. I try to look at
- 6:19Speaker 3: the arrows at least.
- 6:20Speaker 5: She wasn't even looking at the book that just had photos.
- 6:22Speaker 5: This was like the antique book section.
- 6:25Speaker 7: Old words.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Because I was trying to figure out how many books
- 6:28Speaker 5: there are in the Dark Shadows series if I wanted
- 6:30Speaker 5: to bother.
- 6:31Speaker 7: Going down that road.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Well, because they had 27 of them for $ 50. And
- 6:35Speaker 5: I'm like, usually when I see them, they're over $ 10
- 6:38Speaker 5: a piece, but there's 27 for $ 50. And I had
- 6:42Speaker 5: a 10% off coupon.
- 6:43Speaker 7: Oh, Lord.
- 6:43Speaker 5: I know, right? So I'm sitting there. I hadn't been
- 6:46Speaker 5: in the aisle maybe a minute and a half. Because
- 6:49Speaker 5: I waited my turn.
- 6:50Speaker 7: Like you're supposed to.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 6:53Speaker 7: Lady. Exactly.
- 6:54Speaker 5: People are getting comfortable again. Social distance.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Still. Forever.
- 7:00Speaker 3: The only time I forget, because normally I'm not around people.
- 7:03Speaker 3: It's the cutting through thing that I don't even think about.
- 7:07Speaker 3: It's the same thing I've been doing my whole life
- 7:09Speaker 3: of like, oh, I don't really want to be around
- 7:10Speaker 3: this person. I'm going to try to get past them
- 7:12Speaker 3: as quick as possible. But in that moment, I'm like, oh,
- 7:15Speaker 3: I'm about six inches away from this person.
- 7:17Speaker 7: I'm like, that's not at all social distance. But I said,
- 7:19Speaker 7: pardon me, bye.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Gone.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Did you say, oh.
- 7:23Speaker 7: Sorry. And by then, I'm gone. So it's not for long,
- 7:27Speaker 7: but for like a split second, I'm six inches away
- 7:29Speaker 7: from you. And dump.
- 7:31Speaker 5: You just scooch.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I made a duck.
- 7:33Speaker 7: What do you want? I realized.
- 7:34Speaker 5: You gotta make the oop sound.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Oop!
- 7:36Speaker 7: Oop!
- 7:37Speaker 9: Don't!
- 7:37Speaker 7: You gotta homer it, and then you'd be like, ah,
- 7:39Speaker 7: it's fine. He homered it. He understands.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Let me just scooch right past you.
- 7:42Speaker 5: I hate that. Or they do that.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Or they just.
- 7:44Speaker 1: They low crawl. They duck. Like there's something that they're
- 7:48Speaker 1: going underneath. There's nothing they're going underneath.
- 7:50Speaker 3: And it usually moves things down a couple inches. And
- 7:54Speaker 3: you're like, you didn't really change any.
- 7:56Speaker 7: Yeah. I guess it shows you're making an effort, though.
- 7:58Speaker 7: That's really all you can ask for.
- 7:59Speaker 1: But changing your elevation doesn't do anything. You're still in
- 8:02Speaker 1: my way.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Speed walk.
- 8:04Speaker 3: But I'm showing you I'm aware that I'm in your way,
- 8:06Speaker 3: and I'm trying.
- 8:07Speaker 7: To get the hell out of your way.
- 8:08Speaker 5: But the ope covered it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: The ope. And the announcement of the fact that you
- 8:13Speaker 1: were going to scooch right past me.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I didn't necessarily say that because I don't normally use
- 8:19Speaker 3: that phrase.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Because you hear two different, I hear scoot and I
- 8:24Speaker 1: hear scooch. So I'm not sure which one it is.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Is it a regional thing?
- 8:29Speaker 5: I think it is.
- 8:31Speaker 7: I'll put that in the category.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Some people are like, let me just squeeze right past you.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I worked with somebody and this became, and now I
- 8:38Speaker 3: occasionally use that word like normal and I go like,
- 8:42Speaker 3: Because it used to bug the hell out of me
- 8:43Speaker 3: that she would shimmy right past you.
- 8:47Speaker 7: And I'd be like, no, don't do that. No, no,
- 8:50Speaker 7: please don't.
- 8:51Speaker 3: So now when I see something that I should actually
- 8:54Speaker 3: use that word for the right purpose.
- 8:56Speaker 7: I go, oh. So try not to shimmy past anybody
- 9:01Speaker 7: if you can. Unless, of course, you're doing something very
- 9:04Speaker 7: spectacular and wearing something with spadangles on you.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I usually just go, excuse me, and I go right
- 9:11Speaker 1: past them. So where was I? Oh, it was today.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I was at Meijer getting some stuff. These people were
- 9:17Speaker 1: standing like four deep in the aisle. You know? If
- 9:21Speaker 1: you're going to look at something, just.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Were they Hands Across America?
- 9:24Speaker 7: Oh my god, almost! Shit. Kids, Google that.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I was a part of Hands Across America. Thank you
- 9:32Speaker 1: very much.
- 9:32Speaker 5: I found your shirt. You have proof.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I found my shirt. I have proof.
- 9:35Speaker 7: You are a piece of history!
- 9:37Speaker 1: You put it on?
- 9:38Speaker 7: I put it on.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Yes!
- 9:41Speaker 7: I bet it fit just fine.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I took a picture. There were pictures online.
- 9:45Speaker 5: How did you miss that?
- 9:48Speaker 7: Maybe my brain was secretly trying to protect me. It
- 9:53Speaker 7: saw it and went, don't look, don't look, don't look.
- 9:55Speaker 5: These days, boyfriend, in a shirt from when you were, what, nine?
- 9:58Speaker 7: Yeah. I was going to say, that's a long time ago.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a long time ago. Hey, I fit
- 10:03Speaker 1: in it, though.
- 10:03Speaker 7: Barely. Did it explode when you were done?
- 10:06Speaker 5: No.
- 10:07Speaker 7: You were like, did you Hulk your way out of it? Well,
- 10:11Speaker 7: I had a shirt that said, hey, it's across America.
- 10:13Speaker 7: Don't anymore.
- 10:14Speaker 1: This is my mom. Would she have that? Did she
- 10:17Speaker 1: have it?
- 10:18Speaker 8: Out.
- 10:18Speaker 1: She was going to give it to me. She's like, oh,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I found one of your old shirts.
- 10:20Speaker 7: I was like, hell yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 5: It's a hand puppet.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Fucking hands across America.
- 10:26Speaker 7: I forgot about that. Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Did I show you the thing for that?
- 10:35Speaker 7: The commercial, the promos they used to run.
- 10:36Speaker 1: The promos that they ran.
- 10:37Speaker 7: I remember those.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 5: What year was this again?
- 10:40Speaker 7: I vaguely remember. I don't know.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Maybe 82. It says on my shirt.
- 10:44Speaker 7: Oh. You're not wearing it right now?
- 10:46Speaker 1: I'm not wearing it right now.
- 10:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 1: You have to look it up.
- 10:49Speaker 5: It's not that important.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I'll look it up just so people at home don't
- 10:53Speaker 3: have to.
- 10:53Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I just remember at the time being scared of heights
- 10:59Speaker 1: and we were standing on a bridge and And whoever
- 11:04Speaker 1: designed this bridge was a fucking sadist.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Actually, much later.
- 11:09Speaker 1: 86?
- 11:10Speaker 7: May 25th, 1986.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Okay, so maybe I was wrong.
- 11:13Speaker 7: There you go. There's your public service announcement, kids.
- 11:16Speaker 1: No, I was older than that.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I was 6 in 86.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Maybe I was 14.
- 11:22Speaker 7: So you could totally wear that shirt now.
- 11:24Speaker 5: You were 13. 13. Yeah, I was 13. Jesus Christ.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Well, it depends on what time of the year it was.
- 11:29Speaker 8: May. May.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was still 13. I had to turn
- 11:32Speaker 1: 14 in.
- 11:36Speaker 7: Anyway, saving the country, touching people. You're not supposed to
- 11:39Speaker 7: do that at all now.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Holding hands.
- 11:42Speaker 7: Gross.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Not like touching elbows or some shit like that, which
- 11:44Speaker 5: brings you even closer to the person if you're touching
- 11:46Speaker 5: elbows than if you're shaking hands.
- 11:47Speaker 7: What if you bump feet? You do that.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I don't do that either.
- 11:51Speaker 7: I don't do any of these things.
- 11:52Speaker 5: At least if you do the fist bump, I can
- 11:53Speaker 5: at least tolerate that. When they come in for the
- 11:55Speaker 5: elbow bump, I'm like, you're getting within way closer regions.
- 11:59Speaker 7: I don't think I've done any of these things in
- 12:00Speaker 7: the last year plus.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Me neither. Our circles, we still shake hands.
- 12:05Speaker 5: I do the same thing I've always done, which is
- 12:08Speaker 5: not do any of those things. Not come in contact.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I used to do that if we were meeting.
- 12:13Speaker 7: It was semi-professionally.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I could shake somebody's hand if need be, but outside
- 12:18Speaker 3: of that, I'm like, don't really try to interact with
- 12:22Speaker 3: the humans.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Well, generally, I don't stick my fingers in my mouth
- 12:25Speaker 1: after I shake people's hands, so I don't have to
- 12:27Speaker 1: worry about that.
- 12:28Speaker 7: Speak for yourself.
- 12:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 7: So, have you watched anything?
- 12:35Speaker 5: We actually have. We've started watching two shows simultaneously because
- 12:40Speaker 5: I have the attention span of a guppy.
- 12:43Speaker 7: I was going to say, I was just going to
- 12:44Speaker 7: confuse you.
- 12:45Speaker 5: We started watching.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Interweaving the plots.
- 12:49Speaker 5: We've got two different crazy plots. We started watching... I've
- 12:53Speaker 5: been collecting... I started collecting the Quantum Leap novels.
- 12:57Speaker 7: Oh, Lord.
- 12:57Speaker 5: And I don't really remember watching the show. I don't
- 13:00Speaker 5: think it was one of my mom's.
- 13:03Speaker 7: I definitely remember watching it in the day.
- 13:05Speaker 5: I kind of vaguely remember different... I remember the hymn
- 13:09Speaker 5: with the blue light and the wind and all that shit.
- 13:12Speaker 5: Oh boy. I was probably reading my Fear Street books
- 13:16Speaker 5: and not paying a goddamn bit of attention to what
- 13:17Speaker 5: she was doing.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I haven't thought about it until you posted that. And
- 13:21Speaker 3: within a second, I started typing, Ziggy says this is us.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I was like, why do I remember Ziggy for fuck's sake?
- 13:27Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 7: Like, I haven't seen it since it was on TV.
- 13:30Speaker 7: And I immediately was just Dean Stockwell talking about Ziggy.
- 13:32Speaker 5: I was just immediately blown away that the very first
- 13:35Speaker 5: scene in the show had the exact same clock that
- 13:37Speaker 5: I have right there underneath the squirrel.
- 13:39Speaker 7: That was your post, wasn't it? Yes, it was. I
- 13:41Speaker 7: was trying to remember what was it. It was like, oh, yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 7: it's that clock right there.
- 13:44Speaker 5: It was.
- 13:45Speaker 7: And it shouldn't be a surprise that it's underneath a squirrel.
- 13:47Speaker 7: Most things in this room are underneath the squirrel.
- 13:49Speaker 8: I know.
- 13:51Speaker 5: So we started watching that, but then there's a problem
- 13:54Speaker 5: with that. I don't know if it's the app on the.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Seems like it.
- 13:57Speaker 5: The app on the Roku.
- 13:59Speaker 7: It keeps.
- 14:00Speaker 5: It'll start off okay, but then it zooms into a
- 14:03Speaker 5: tiny right-hand square.
- 14:05Speaker 7: That's weird.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Maybe the left-hand square.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Either way, you can't watch it.
- 14:09Speaker 5: I don't know if it's the Roku having a problem
- 14:11Speaker 5: or if it's the NBC app. Because they're all available on.
- 14:15Speaker 3: keeping like the pictures the same size as the tv
- 14:18Speaker 3: it's just zooming in on part of the screen or
- 14:21Speaker 3: the screen itself goes like postage stamp and there's a
- 14:23Speaker 3: bunch of black space no.
- 14:25Speaker 5: It's making just like the screen becomes the top right hand.
- 14:28Speaker 7: Corner yeah so all you're missing the other three-fourths of
- 14:31Speaker 7: the screen but it's still full size.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Yeah it's still full size okay it's just either.
- 14:35Speaker 7: Way this is weird but i would figure out which.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Version and every time you stop it and restart it
- 14:41Speaker 1: It does the same thing. I try to skip to
- 14:43Speaker 1: a different episode. It still does the same thing.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I don't know if it's the app or if it's
- 14:46Speaker 5: the stick.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I don't have time to figure it out yet.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Let's write an angry email to Scott Bakula. I feel
- 14:53Speaker 3: like he's personally responsible.
- 14:55Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I think Dean Stockwell probably has nothing better to do
- 14:58Speaker 5: than to reply. He'd probably be like, I.
- 15:02Speaker 7: Love Dean Stockwell back in the day. I don't know
- 15:04Speaker 7: what all he's doing these days.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Art.
- 15:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I guess.
- 15:08Speaker 1: He's doing art. Well, he was doing art. I don't
- 15:10Speaker 1: know if he's still doing art or not.
- 15:12Speaker 5: What kind of art? Like watercolors?
- 15:13Speaker 12: No.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I can't remember. Because I was following him on... Or
- 15:19Speaker 1: I was friends with him on Facebook a long time ago. And....
- 15:24Speaker 5: He's a weird dude.
- 15:25Speaker 7: Tagging. I don't remember. Street art. He's out in the streets.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Him and Corin Nemec are hanging out.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Out in an alley somewhere right now. It's pretty pain.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Wouldn't doubt it. But then... I've been forcing one of
- 15:37Speaker 5: my favorite of all time shows on Boyfriend, and he's
- 15:39Speaker 5: been a very good sport about it.
- 15:42Speaker 7: He is in general for most of your shenanigans.
- 15:44Speaker 5: I know, right? We've started, like I've already mentioned, one
- 15:49Speaker 5: of my favorite shows of all time, the Canadian classic,
- 15:52Speaker 5: Big Wolf on Campus.
- 15:54Speaker 7: I think you recently asked, should I make him watch these?
- 15:58Speaker 7: And I was like, you probably will anyway. So you
- 16:01Speaker 7: have started down that road.
- 16:03Speaker 5: We have started, but I went... to a later episode
- 16:06Speaker 5: and then work my way back. Because I figure, if
- 16:08Speaker 5: you're going to go.
- 16:08Speaker 3: It does get a little more polished as they move along.
- 16:11Speaker 7: They get a little more budget.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Start with the Corey Haim episode.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Ease your way in there.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Go with the Corey Haim episode because that one's great.
- 16:18Speaker 7: Well, let's go to the source here. Jay, how are
- 16:22Speaker 7: you doing with the old Big Wolf on campus? It's okay.
- 16:25Speaker 7: I remember him being fun.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I started out... She was like, I'm going to watch
- 16:28Speaker 1: Big Wolf on campus. I'm like, all right, whatever. I'm
- 16:30Speaker 1: just going to sit on my phone and veg out
- 16:32Speaker 1: because anymore getting off work I just, you know, don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: want to have to deal with life. I get that.
- 16:41Speaker 1: She's watching TV and I'm just kind of, you know,
- 16:44Speaker 1: looking at my phone. And I start catching snippets of
- 16:49Speaker 1: it and stuff like that. It is pretty funny. I
- 16:51Speaker 1: end up laughing at some of it. The short bus.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'm just like, what?
- 16:55Speaker 5: You said something about the short bus.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 5: I make special kid references. I'm like, they could not
- 17:00Speaker 5: get away with that today.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yeah. So some of that and ripping off. the current
- 17:06Speaker 1: movies of the time and stuff like that.
- 17:07Speaker 7: It was kind of funny. That became their thing.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 4: So.
- 17:12Speaker 5: And they are great. That's so quick, too, because you
- 17:13Speaker 5: can watch it and be like, you don't have time
- 17:17Speaker 5: for it to get too dumb because it's over. Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 7: That's true. I mean, it's like 22 minutes for most sitcoms, so.
- 17:23Speaker 5: And they're editing all the commercials out, so you're just like, boom,
- 17:26Speaker 5: all right.
- 17:27Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 17:28Speaker 5: I can't even get tired of it because it's already
- 17:30Speaker 5: the next episode. So, I mean, we've only gotten, like,
- 17:35Speaker 5: four or five episodes in. But it is. I'm watching
- 17:39Speaker 5: it and I'm like, am I going to be disappointed?
- 17:42Speaker 5: Because I don't think I've actually... I know we watched
- 17:45Speaker 5: it when it came on.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the thing. I'm thinking back and I'm like,
- 17:48Speaker 7: I don't think I've seen it since it was on TV.
- 17:51Speaker 5: And I might have watched a few episodes here and
- 17:52Speaker 5: there since then, but I don't think I've watched it
- 17:55Speaker 5: in its entirety since it was on whatever CW?
- 18:00Speaker 7: I was going to say, I don't even know a channel.
- 18:02Speaker 5: ABC Family? I don't know where.
- 18:04Speaker 7: Because it was like the middle of the day.
- 18:07Speaker 1: See, I kind of remember it being on, but I
- 18:09Speaker 1: didn't watch it. Like, I remember the... Merton? Merton.
- 18:13Speaker 5: See, I remember Merton.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember him, and I was just like, what
- 18:17Speaker 1: is this? And I was like, oh, this is like
- 18:19Speaker 1: a weird Saved by the Bell Kids show. I don't
- 18:21Speaker 1: need to watch this.
- 18:22Speaker 7: So, I didn't watch it. I could see you making
- 18:24Speaker 7: that mistake. Thankfully, it is so much better.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty funny.
- 18:30Speaker 5: I was afraid it wouldn't hold up, and then watch it,
- 18:32Speaker 5: and I'm like, Tommy Dawkins. He has aged so well.
- 18:38Speaker 7: Yeah, surprisingly. Didn't I say he turned up on MacGyver lately?
- 18:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I think he did. Even he was surprised.
- 18:44Speaker 7: Yeah, I was just barely in it. I was like, hey,
- 18:47Speaker 7: where did he go? He was just there getting attacked
- 18:49Speaker 7: by terrorists or something, and now he's gone. I don't know.
- 18:52Speaker 7: I don't know what happened to him.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Tommy just disappeared back into the night like a werewolf
- 18:56Speaker 3: or whatever the hell he is now.
- 18:57Speaker 5: He's always posted on Twitter about football. Like, all the time.
- 19:01Speaker 1: He just really likes football.
- 19:03Speaker 7: I mean, some people, that's their thing.
- 19:05Speaker 5: He loves them Denver Broncos.
- 19:08Speaker 7: It's sad that I know that.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Wasn't he a football player in the show?
- 19:11Speaker 5: He was the high school quarterback.
- 19:13Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 19:13Speaker 7: He was not acting. That was just him.
- 19:16Speaker 1: That's just him.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Do they have football in Canada?
- 19:20Speaker 1: I'm sure they do.
- 19:21Speaker 5: I'm surprised he wouldn't play in hockey or something.
- 19:25Speaker 7: I was going to say, I don't know how much
- 19:27Speaker 7: they play any other sport. It's just hockey and hockey
- 19:29Speaker 7: and hockey.
- 19:31Speaker 5: Just hockey and maple syrup. That's all Canada is, right?
- 19:33Speaker 7: Moose's mountains.
- 19:34Speaker 5: I made that comment once about everybody from Canada smelling
- 19:37Speaker 5: like syrup. Or just Canada in general smelling like syrup.
- 19:41Speaker 5: And the guy in front of me in line was like,
- 19:42Speaker 5: I'm from Canada.
- 19:44Speaker 7: And you're like, mmm, syrup.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Where was this?
- 19:48Speaker 5: At work trying to leave.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Oh, I see.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I mean, for any Canadians out there, we've also on
- 19:56Speaker 3: many occasions discussed how much everybody we love is from Canada.
- 20:00Speaker 7: So we can't really.
- 20:01Speaker 5: Seriously.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I thought we were going to discuss about how Misty's
- 20:03Speaker 1: pissed off everybody from around the world.
- 20:05Speaker 7: That's true of most places around the world except Canada. Seriously.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Everybody he loves from Canada.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I know. Tommy Dawkins is from Canada. Corey Haim. Mark Singer.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Who else?
- 20:16Speaker 1: Alex Durek.
- 20:17Speaker 5: He got kind of weird there at the end. He
- 20:18Speaker 5: wasn't very funny.
- 20:20Speaker 7: Don't get me started on my Michael J.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Fox. Others. I'm sure there are good things.
- 20:25Speaker 7: They were cranking out some top quotes.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Is it Ryan Reynolds? Isn't he Canadian?
- 20:30Speaker 1: What about Kirk?
- 20:32Speaker 3: Huh?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Fucking Shatner.
- 20:35Speaker 5: Oh, okay. I was like, Kirk Douglas? I'm like, what
- 20:38Speaker 5: is he?
- 20:38Speaker 7: I don't know that he is.
- 20:40Speaker 5: You didn't put captain in front of it, so you
- 20:42Speaker 5: didn't fully address him by his name.
- 20:43Speaker 7: I mean, sometimes he gets demoted. Sometimes he's an admiral.
- 20:46Speaker 7: You never know.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 20:48Speaker 5: See, if you said Captain Kirk, I'd have been right
- 20:50Speaker 5: there with you. But we've watched other things. We watched
- 20:57Speaker 5: actual movies.
- 20:58Speaker 1: We did?
- 20:59Speaker 5: Yes, we did.
- 21:00Speaker 1: What did we watch?
- 21:01Speaker 5: Motherfucker, you're the one who picked them out.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I did?
- 21:02Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 21:05Speaker 5: You picked out both of them.
- 21:06Speaker 7: I did?
- 21:06Speaker 5: You bought them.
- 21:07Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Fuck yeah, I did.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Forgot.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Watch the original Tron. Because I hadn't seen it since
- 21:15Speaker 1: I was a fucking kid.
- 21:16Speaker 5: And I'd never seen it.
- 21:17Speaker 7: I'm kind of in that boat.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Like, I remember thinking it was super cool as a kid. Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 7: But not really following any of it.
- 21:23Speaker 8: No.
- 21:24Speaker 7: Like, every kid, I'm.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Assuming, everywhere.
- 21:25Speaker 12: No.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Me, now, as an adult.
- 21:27Speaker 7: I feel like I tried to go back and watch it, like,
- 21:30Speaker 7: when it first came on DVD and was like, what's going.
- 21:33Speaker 1: On in this movie?
- 21:33Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 21:34Speaker 3: And I was like, ooh, light cycles are cool.
- 21:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 5: Ooh, Frisbees. Yeah.
- 21:39Speaker 7: I like these colors. That's where I came. That's it.
- 21:41Speaker 1: That's it.
- 21:42Speaker 5: I tried to have him explain it to me. Like,
- 21:43Speaker 5: what's going on? What happened?
- 21:46Speaker 3: I can probably tell you the same that I knew then.
- 21:49Speaker 3: So they're like in the computer.
- 21:51Speaker 7: Yeah. And then things look glowy. Because they're in the computer.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And light cycles.
- 21:57Speaker 7: And Frisbees.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And big flying things. And Jeff Bridges.
- 22:02Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:02Speaker 7: What?
- 22:03Speaker 5: So, yeah. Billy the Kid from Bill and Ted was
- 22:09Speaker 5: in there.
- 22:10Speaker 7: Lacey Underall from Caddyshack.
- 22:15Speaker 5: I was watching it and I literally had to have
- 22:17Speaker 5: him explain it to me.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Well, even me sitting back watching it again, I was like,
- 22:22Speaker 1: How was this so popular as a kid? Because I
- 22:24Speaker 1: don't think I understood any of it.
- 22:25Speaker 7: Lights and colors. Exactly.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's all it was.
- 22:28Speaker 7: Well, I mean, it's still to this day. Like, think
- 22:31Speaker 7: of how different that looked than everything else that was
- 22:33Speaker 7: going on. It looked awesome. Well, and just different. Like,
- 22:36Speaker 7: it's just so damn different that I'm like, I think
- 22:39Speaker 7: everybody was just dazzled by that. And they were just like,
- 22:42Speaker 7: I didn't plot whatever for you. Literally.
- 22:45Speaker 5: I had to pause it a couple times and be like, What?
- 22:48Speaker 1: Well, they do throw you right in the middle of it,
- 22:51Speaker 1: thinking that you already know everything about computers.
- 22:54Speaker 7: I just remember David Warner. Man, he's awesome in everything.
- 22:57Speaker 7: Even in that, that I don't know what the hell's
- 22:59Speaker 7: going on.
- 22:59Speaker 1: He's super creepy.
- 23:00Speaker 5: I look at him, I'm like, who the fuck is
- 23:02Speaker 5: David Warner? I knew I knew him.
- 23:03Speaker 7: The Twin Peaks.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Yeah, but he was also in Wallander.
- 23:07Speaker 7: More importantly, Time Bandits.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Come on now.
- 23:09Speaker 5: That's been a long time since I've seen Time Bandits.
- 23:12Speaker 1: We got that.
- 23:13Speaker 5: We didn't finish talking about Tron, did we?
- 23:14Speaker 1: Oh, we haven't finished? Okay, what else about Tron?
- 23:16Speaker 7: Please explain the plot to me, thank you.
- 23:17Speaker 5: It's how the end, where it's just like, da-da-da-da, he's
- 23:20Speaker 5: the boss now.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 7: They're setting it up for a sequel several decades later.
- 23:25Speaker 5: I haven't seen the newer movie. I haven't either. But
- 23:27Speaker 5: I'm wondering, because every movie nowadays has to over-explain everything.
- 23:32Speaker 5: If they made that movie now, we would know exactly
- 23:34Speaker 5: what happened.
- 23:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Well, they had the.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I should have got the one that had the sequel,
- 23:42Speaker 1: because they had.
- 23:45Speaker 5: I don't know why you didn't get it. They had
- 23:46Speaker 5: Tron and Tron Legacy.
- 23:47Speaker 7: Because I didn't want to see Tron Legacy.
- 23:49Speaker 5: But it was the same fucking price for one or both.
- 23:51Speaker 1: All I wanted was one. I didn't want both of them.
- 23:55Speaker 1: I wanted the original.
- 23:56Speaker 5: They were the same price.
- 23:57Speaker 7: I kind of get that now, because there was something.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Lately that I was like, I could have gotten three
- 24:02Speaker 3: movies for the same price as the one that I wanted.
- 24:04Speaker 7: I'm like, I don't want those.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Three on my shelf. Exactly.
- 24:07Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 24:08Speaker 7: Even though I want to go back and watch those
- 24:10Speaker 7: other two.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Legacy actually might be an okay movie, but I don't care.
- 24:14Speaker 5: But it'll be on my shelf, so it doesn't matter.
- 24:17Speaker 7: That's true. You've taken over all shelves. In the world.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Are we done talking about Tron?
- 24:22Speaker 5: I guess we can move on.
- 24:23Speaker 7: I have no idea what it was.
- 24:26Speaker 8: 1986.
- 24:26Speaker 1: The year.
- 24:26Speaker 8: 1986.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Alright. My buddy's birthday party. We went to Chuck E. Cheese. Alright. Me, him,
- 24:35Speaker 1: and My other friend and his sister. All of us.
- 24:37Speaker 1: We all used to hang around him. We were kids.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Went to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday. Fucking awesome.
- 24:45Speaker 1: First time we had ever been to Chuck E.
- 24:46Speaker 10: Cheese.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I don't even know if Chuck E. Cheese was still
- 24:49Speaker 1: pretty new, I think, at the time.
- 24:51Speaker 7: Did we talk about this one?
- 24:53Speaker 1: To get to go play video games. Fucking awesome. But
- 24:57Speaker 1: I can't remember if we went to the movie first
- 25:00Speaker 1: and then went to Chuck E. Cheese or went to
- 25:01Speaker 1: Chuck E. Cheese and then went to the movie. Either way,
- 25:03Speaker 1: This is one of the times when I stole $ 20
- 25:05Speaker 1: worth of quarters out of my dad's quarter collection, which
- 25:10Speaker 1: fuck him. He can burn in hell for all I care.
- 25:14Speaker 1: But still, I'm glad I stole this fucking money.
- 25:16Speaker 7: You needed it.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And I needed it for video games.
- 25:19Speaker 7: Important things like games.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah. And I'm pretty sure Tron was one of the
- 25:23Speaker 1: games that was there.
- 25:23Speaker 7: You might get sucked into Tron. You need those quarters.
- 25:25Speaker 10: And.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Fuck, what was that dragon game? Dragonlance?
- 25:30Speaker 7: Dragon's Lair?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Dragon's Lair. Dragon's Lair was in there.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Again, awesome in my mind. When I think back, I'm like, man,
- 25:37Speaker 3: I couldn't play more than about 10 seconds and die.
- 25:39Speaker 1: No, you died, and the controls didn't make any sense,
- 25:41Speaker 1: and all you did was just pump quarters in it
- 25:43Speaker 1: and die and go, what the fuck?
- 25:45Speaker 3: And that was the first of many times I was like,
- 25:47Speaker 3: can I just watch this cartoon and not have to
- 25:50Speaker 3: keep giving you quarters to watch the same thing as
- 25:53Speaker 3: I fall down or get.
- 25:54Speaker 7: Fire burned or whatever the hell happened to me? I
- 25:57Speaker 7: don't remember.
- 25:57Speaker 1: So anyways, the movie. I haven't seen this movie since 1986.
- 26:04Speaker 1: And one of my coworkers, he's like 22 that I
- 26:09Speaker 1: was training. He was talking to me about it. And
- 26:11Speaker 1: I was like, dude, I haven't seen that movie. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: saw that movie in the theater. Transformers, the fucking movie. God,
- 26:19Speaker 1: I love that movie. I'd forgotten about it.
- 26:21Speaker 5: I like how you had to emphasize that by picking
- 26:22Speaker 5: your glass, your empty glass.
- 26:24Speaker 1: And slamming it down.
- 26:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I forgot how much I loved that movie.
- 26:28Speaker 7: The funnier thing is, I think we talked about this
- 26:30Speaker 7: last time.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Did we?
- 26:32Speaker 5: We hadn't watched it then.
- 26:33Speaker 7: Did we have the last time? I thought we did.
- 26:36Speaker 8: No.
- 26:36Speaker 7: Because we talked about Everybody Die.
- 26:38Speaker 5: I remember. I think we talked about the movie, but
- 26:40Speaker 5: we hadn't watched it.
- 26:41Speaker 7: Maybe you hadn't watched it. Maybe we were just anticipating.
- 26:44Speaker 5: I think you had watched parts of.
- 26:45Speaker 7: It on YouTube or something.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, see, I watched it on YouTube, and they cut
- 26:49Speaker 1: out a bunch of shit out of it. And I
- 26:50Speaker 1: was like, man, this sucks, because I don't know what's
- 26:53Speaker 1: going on.
- 26:55Speaker 7: So it's like watching Tron.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and they cut a bunch of shit out of it,
- 26:58Speaker 1: because I don't remember. I mean, there should have been
- 27:01Speaker 1: more stuff, and then I went and got it. Because
- 27:05Speaker 1: I told my girlfriend, I was like, you're going to
- 27:06Speaker 1: watch this. We're going to watch it.
- 27:08Speaker 5: I'd never seen it.
- 27:09Speaker 7: It's going to change your life.
- 27:11Speaker 1: She was like, did they just kill off some of
- 27:13Speaker 1: the main characters? I was like, fuck yeah, they did.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Imagine being a kid and watching your favorite characters die.
- 27:21Speaker 7: In a cartoon.
- 27:22Speaker 5: Did they bring them back? And you're like, no.
- 27:24Speaker 7: This was it.
- 27:26Speaker 5: They literally never had any more Optimus Prime in the
- 27:28Speaker 5: cartoons after this?
- 27:30Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 27:30Speaker 7: I feel like they worked around the Optimus Prime. I
- 27:34Speaker 7: feel like some of those other ones, we never saw
- 27:37Speaker 7: them again.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they had other toys. So, you know. I mean,
- 27:40Speaker 1: they were pushing the whole new Rodimus Prime and all
- 27:43Speaker 1: that other.
- 27:44Speaker 5: The whatimus prime?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Rodimus. That's what. Did you not watch the movie?
- 27:47Speaker 3: Yes.
- 27:48Speaker 1: That's what Hot Rod turned into. He turned into Rodimus Prime.
- 27:51Speaker 5: I don't remember him being called Rodimus.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Well, yeah.
- 27:53Speaker 7: That is kind of a terrible name. It is. As
- 27:57Speaker 7: cool as Optimus Prime is, Rodimus just is.
- 28:00Speaker 1: But yeah, it was just funny because this kid I
- 28:02Speaker 1: work with was talking about it. And it made me think.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I was like, fuck yeah, dude. I saw that movie
- 28:12Speaker 1: in the theater. And then he was probably thinking, dude,
- 28:14Speaker 1: you're so old.
- 28:16Speaker 7: It's kind of a given. I assume that at all
- 28:17Speaker 7: times when I talk to people now.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Then I was like, I will beat your ass.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Because you thought he was talking about the fucking movie.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I thought he was talking about Transformers, the movie. I
- 28:28Speaker 1: was like, what?
- 28:29Speaker 7: No, I ain't seen that.
- 28:29Speaker 1: And he goes, no, no, the old cartoon from 86.
- 28:31Speaker 1: And I was like, dude, I saw that in the theater.
- 28:35Speaker 7: Except I liked Bumblebee because it's not directed by him.
- 28:38Speaker 7: And it has an actual storyline.
- 28:40Speaker 3: And the scenes aren't set up stupid so you can't
- 28:43Speaker 3: tell what the hell's going on. It actually functions like
- 28:45Speaker 3: a real movie.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Well, I haven't seen any of them.
- 28:49Speaker 5: I saw the first one.
- 28:50Speaker 7: Yeah, I saw the first one.
- 28:51Speaker 5: I saw the Megan Fox bending over the car one.
- 28:53Speaker 7: I saw... I saw... One more reason to like Bumblebee.
- 28:58Speaker 7: Haley Steinfeld? Super cool. So, I saw the second one.
- 29:02Speaker 3: They were running it on, like, TBS or something. And
- 29:05Speaker 3: I'd heard so many terrible things about it. And then
- 29:08Speaker 3: I was like, they're just kind of overselling.
- 29:11Speaker 7: It's not really that bad, right? Holy shit. Like, this
- 29:15Speaker 7: was like a half hour of it I watched. And
- 29:17Speaker 7: I was just like, oh, my God. This is beyond horrible. Like,
- 29:21Speaker 7: it's offensive on so many levels.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Like, acting or what?
- 29:27Speaker 5: Just dumb. And then.
- 29:29Speaker 7: The new characters they make are so insulting to your brain. Like,
- 29:34Speaker 7: it's just, it's like angering. And it takes a lot.
- 29:38Speaker 7: I'm pretty, like, I don't. give a shit about them.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I'm like, good, bad, whatever. I get what I want
- 29:43Speaker 3: out of most movies for the hell of it. But
- 29:45Speaker 3: sometimes they're so dumb, so bad, that I'm just like.
- 29:49Speaker 7: What are you doing? This is annoying now.
- 29:52Speaker 5: Wow.
- 29:52Speaker 7: That was Transformers 2.
- 29:54Speaker 3: And I don't think I've gone back for any since then,
- 29:56Speaker 3: until we got the Bumblebee. And I was like, oh,
- 29:58Speaker 3: thank God he didn't direct this one.
- 30:00Speaker 7: I can watch it.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Now that you went back and watched all of Transformers,
- 30:04Speaker 5: was it all that you hoped it would be?
- 30:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:07Speaker 5: I had questions during that one too.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 7: I can see that.
- 30:11Speaker 5: That was like, how do they make new robots? Do
- 30:15Speaker 5: they actually make.
- 30:16Speaker 7: With ratchets?
- 30:17Speaker 1: Shit!
- 30:17Speaker 5: Because I'm like.
- 30:18Speaker 1: That's the X-rated.
- 30:22Speaker 5: I'm like.
- 30:22Speaker 7: They did introduce a girl car later, so.
- 30:25Speaker 5: There was a girl car in this one, wasn't there?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah, there was.
- 30:27Speaker 7: Wasn't that the movie, though? I thought on the show
- 30:29Speaker 7: they didn't. I thought that was one of the big,
- 30:30Speaker 7: look what we've got in the movie! It's a girl!
- 30:32Speaker 1: It's a girl car!
- 30:34Speaker 5: But I mean, do they actually like Make them full grown?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess they just build them.
- 30:40Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 30:41Speaker 7: Jeez, you're asking questions.
- 30:42Speaker 1: It's a cartoon.
- 30:44Speaker 5: I had more questions, too. I had to keep asking you.
- 30:46Speaker 5: You were probably like, oh, my God, girlfriend, stop.
- 30:48Speaker 7: Stop with your logic. It has no place in my
- 30:51Speaker 7: cartoon shows.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Transformer.
- 31:06Speaker 7: Mother beats the eye Transformers The Movie Transformers.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Coming to a theater near you this August.
- 31:18Speaker 5: The ritual has begun Satan's work is done 666 The number.
- 31:24Speaker 12: Of the beast Sacrifice.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Is going on tonight.
- 31:33Speaker 7: So, guess what happened the other day?
- 31:36Speaker 5: What?
- 31:36Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 31:38Speaker 7: I went into a store.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I know it's hard to go out into the world,
- 31:41Speaker 3: but I actually went into a place, and I brought
- 31:44Speaker 3: my goods up to the register, and they went to
- 31:47Speaker 3: ring me.
- 31:48Speaker 7: Up, and damned if it didn't say 666. Ooh. Fantastic.
- 31:54Speaker 7: And the woman behind the counter went, oh, God.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Like, she kind of responded, and I was like, nah,
- 32:00Speaker 3: that seems about right.
- 32:01Speaker 7: It's fine.
- 32:03Speaker 3: So it's obvious that we're in tune with the dark
- 32:06Speaker 3: forces of the universe.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Clearly.
- 32:09Speaker 3: And, you know, one of those things is probably because
- 32:13Speaker 3: we're always rolling 20-sided die.
- 32:15Speaker 7: We can't stop.
- 32:18Speaker 3: So, you know, as you may or may not know,
- 32:22Speaker 3: each time we roll the die.
- 32:24Speaker 7: we open up a portal.
- 32:26Speaker 3: To some sort of demon dimension and evil forces come
- 32:29Speaker 3: and go and do as they please. So just if you,
- 32:32Speaker 3: if you didn't know that at home, this is one
- 32:34Speaker 3: of the things we're doing now is opening up demon portals.
- 32:38Speaker 3: And we also kind of watch horror movies, but this
- 32:41Speaker 3: is one of the benefits, you know, fringe benefits that
- 32:45Speaker 3: comes with, you know, setting up a show that rolls
- 32:49Speaker 3: die and brings in horror movies and evil forces.
- 32:53Speaker 2: It's the whole reason I joined.
- 32:56Speaker 3: And you too can join and be part of this
- 32:58Speaker 3: evil madness so go to movie meltdown.com click on that
- 33:02Speaker 3: link right there at the top that says join the
- 33:04Speaker 3: horror club and you can enjoy all the fun and
- 33:07Speaker 3: games that comes along with the demon dimensions that we're
- 33:10Speaker 3: opening up and we talk about horror movies on occasion.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Sometime so brian what's the uh what's the minimum to
- 33:18Speaker 2: join up for.
- 33:19Speaker 9: That two bucks Two bucks, two American dollars, and you
- 33:23Speaker 9: can get all this and more.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Two measly dollars, and you can have access to all
- 33:29Speaker 3: of the episodes. Now, granted, you can throw some more
- 33:32Speaker 3: at us, and we'll come up with some other crazy things,
- 33:34Speaker 3: but you get two dollars in, and you can listen
- 33:37Speaker 3: to every one of the bonus episodes, all horror-related, all
- 33:41Speaker 3: just for you. And on top of that, our little
- 33:44Speaker 3: promo we've got going now is the previously mentioned Rolling
- 33:48Speaker 3: of the Die, If you join up, you get to
- 33:52Speaker 3: give us a movie to put on the list, and
- 33:54Speaker 3: then we'll roll the die and potentially get to your
- 33:56Speaker 3: movie down the line.
- 33:57Speaker 7: We never know when.
- 33:58Speaker 3: That's part of the evil forces that live inside the
- 34:00Speaker 3: 20-sided die. But you can be part of that if
- 34:04Speaker 3: you just join the club, and then you can get
- 34:07Speaker 3: your movie on the list and listen as we crack
- 34:10Speaker 3: open the thin little membrane that's containing evil on the
- 34:14Speaker 3: other side of the void. Each week, we're poking at
- 34:19Speaker 3: it with a stick. You can be part of that magic.
- 34:23Speaker 7: Evil magic.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Dark magic.
- 34:28Speaker 7: For $ 2.
- 34:31Speaker 2: You are probably just going to throw that money in
- 34:33Speaker 2: the garbage anyway.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Probably.
- 34:36Speaker 7: I mean, you don't need anything to do with it now.
- 34:38Speaker 7: You can't go anywhere. You can't do anything functional. I
- 34:41Speaker 7: was lucky to come up with enough to scrape together
- 34:44Speaker 7: to get $ 6. 66 worth of goods because.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I don't go anywhere.
- 34:48Speaker 7: I don't do anything now. It's the wonderful world we
- 34:50Speaker 7: live in. So now you've got that extra two bucks
- 34:53Speaker 7: to throw towards something important.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Like this show.
- 34:57Speaker 3: That did actually happen. It was at a Walgreens. And
- 35:03Speaker 3: the woman was like, oh, Lord.
- 35:05Speaker 2: That's happened to me a handful of times. And I'm
- 35:07Speaker 2: always like, fantastic. I was somewhere. I don't remember what
- 35:12Speaker 2: it was.
- 35:13Speaker 9: And the lady actually told me. Like when the amount
- 35:16Speaker 9: rang up, she's like, oh, we'll just round this up
- 35:19Speaker 9: to 670. Like the hell you will. I was like,
- 35:23Speaker 9: you can round it down. I was like, but you're
- 35:25Speaker 9: not going to rip me off just because the cash
- 35:28Speaker 9: register rang up an evil, quote unquote, evil number.
- 35:31Speaker 7: Satan says you give me this for free.
- 35:33Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 35:34Speaker 9: Yeah, there you go.
- 35:36Speaker 7: Well, there you go.
- 35:38Speaker 3: You don't have to round up if you want. You
- 35:41Speaker 3: can just leave it an even two bucks.
- 35:42Speaker 7: So there you go.
- 35:45Speaker 3: If you want to round it up to $ 100, feel free.
- 35:47Speaker 3: I have a God level set up just for crazy
- 35:50Speaker 3: people that want to throw $ 100 at us.
- 35:52Speaker 7: But you don't have to do that.
- 35:55Speaker 3: We're really looking for like crazy millionaires that want to
- 35:58Speaker 3: just throw money at something weird.
- 36:01Speaker 7: And we are those weirdos.
- 36:03Speaker 3: So it's certainly an option if you're looking for that.
- 36:06Speaker 3: But assuming you're not a millionaire, two bucks is.
- 36:09Speaker 1: All you need.
- 36:11Speaker 2: And we will take your $ 6. 66 if you have it.
- 36:14Speaker 7: That's true.
- 36:15Speaker 3: If you want to throw that in there every month
- 36:17Speaker 3: just to get on board with the evil, feel free.
- 36:21Speaker 3: We are more than happy to go with that evil number,
- 36:24Speaker 3: unlike that lady behind the counter.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Well, let's say you buy something for $ 3. 34.
- 36:28Speaker 9: Am I doing this math right?
- 36:30Speaker 2: I don't know if I am or not.
- 36:34Speaker 7: I don't bother with math.
- 36:35Speaker 9: Well, let's say your change that comes back for whatever
- 36:37Speaker 9: reason is $ 6. 66 and you're scared to death of what's
- 36:40Speaker 9: going to happen. You send it to us and you
- 36:42Speaker 9: get all this great stuff.
- 36:45Speaker 1: There you go.
- 36:45Speaker 7: We're saving your soul.
- 36:46Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 3: The only hope for you is to give us money
- 36:50Speaker 3: so that you can go on to some sort of
- 36:52Speaker 3: afterlife that you will enjoy as opposed to the evil
- 36:55Speaker 3: forces that live within our episodes.
- 36:58Speaker 7: Turned so televangelist.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Get out your pocketbooks you know.
- 37:04Speaker 7: That you want to give.
- 37:09Speaker 3: That's what we're looking for some sort of demon televangelist
- 37:15Speaker 3: it's the ultimate level we're going for for this.
- 37:20Speaker 7: So go to movie meltdown.com click on the horror club
- 37:23Speaker 7: link on the.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Right side of the page and join the club With
- 37:26Speaker 3: your help, we can keep this 20-sided die rolling.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Hey, hey, come here. Come here. This is Dan Roebuck,
- 37:49Speaker 1: and I just want to tell you, you've got to
- 37:51Speaker 1: listen to Movie Meltdown.
- 37:53Speaker 2: That's www.moviemeltdown.com.
- 37:56Speaker 5: And if you don't know how to spell movie or meltdown, then.
- 37:59Speaker 2: You don't deserve to listen to it anyway.
- 38:01Speaker 13: Oh, you've got to do the beat after me. A, B, C.
- 38:06Speaker 5: Easy as one, two, three. I'll sing when I go away. A, B, C.
- 38:11Speaker 7: One, two, three.
- 38:14Speaker 11: It is a time when magic is more powerful than science,
- 38:17Speaker 11: and only those who control the magic control destiny.
- 38:20Speaker 2: They are the visionaries.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Visionaries, lights of the magical light.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Visionaries, magical powers they.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Fight.
- 38:30Speaker 12: Powers of light, they change, give and steal. Powers to
- 38:35Speaker 12: accomplish the greatest of deeds.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Visionaries, lights of the magical light. She was talking about
- 38:45Speaker 1: some toys or something the other day, and I was
- 38:48Speaker 1: telling her about, oh, you said you were a sucker
- 38:51Speaker 1: for toys with holograms.
- 38:53Speaker 12: Oh, Lord.
- 38:54Speaker 1: So we started talking about visionaries.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I was going to say, I was like, no. And
- 38:58Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't even remember most of the details
- 39:00Speaker 3: about it. I just remember standing in the store looking
- 39:02Speaker 3: at the package going.
- 39:02Speaker 7: Well, that's cool. I do, right?
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so, Visionaries.
- 39:07Speaker 5: And you were trying to explain it to me.
- 39:08Speaker 7: And I had questions.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I was trying to explain the cartoon, and I
- 39:11Speaker 1: was like, here, just watch the intro.
- 39:13Speaker 7: I was going to say, did you watch the cartoon?
- 39:15Speaker 1: No. Because I watched the cartoon as a kid.
- 39:17Speaker 7: I just remember the toys, and I knew it was
- 39:19Speaker 7: a cartoon. Yeah. But I never paid attention enough to
- 39:21Speaker 7: even piece a story together. I had like Something about holograms.
- 39:25Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I had like two of the figures. But what am I... Yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 1: it's like... Everybody has that one kid that's in their
- 39:34Speaker 1: neighborhood that has every toy that comes out.
- 39:37Speaker 7: Thankfully, I didn't get that far. I got.
- 39:42Speaker 3: I had more Star Wars than most kids probably. But
- 39:46Speaker 3: I still didn't know. There's a lot of the big
- 39:47Speaker 3: ones that other kids had that I never got.
- 39:49Speaker 1: There was me and a couple other friends that were like,
- 39:53Speaker 1: you had to do yard work, you had to do dishes,
- 39:55Speaker 1: and then you got your allowance, and then every once
- 39:57Speaker 1: in a while your parents would take you to Toys
- 39:59Speaker 1: R Us. And you'd be able to buy one or
- 40:01Speaker 1: two action figures. And then you had that one kid
- 40:05Speaker 1: that lived in the neighborhood whose parents just bought him
- 40:09Speaker 1: anything he wanted. He was like, I want this and
- 40:12Speaker 1: this and this and this. And you're all just super
- 40:14Speaker 1: stoked because you've got snake eyes. Yes, I've got snake eyes.
- 40:19Speaker 1: And you go over to his house and he's got, oh,
- 40:22Speaker 1: I've got snake eyes and I've got the flag.
- 40:24Speaker 5: And you're like, what?
- 40:25Speaker 2: What?
- 40:26Speaker 3: Here's my platoon of snake eyes. They're hanging out on
- 40:29Speaker 3: the deck of the flat.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:32Speaker 7: Jeez.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I remember working so hard one summer just to save
- 40:36Speaker 1: up enough money for a Sky Striker. And God, all
- 40:42Speaker 1: he had to do was just go like, I want
- 40:43Speaker 1: a Sky Striker and I want I want was the
- 40:46Speaker 1: other the Rattler and I want this and I want that.
- 40:48Speaker 1: His parents just bought it for him. I was like,
- 40:50Speaker 1: son of a bitch. I spent all summer mowing yards
- 40:52Speaker 1: to get the money for this.
- 40:54Speaker 7: I got like one or two at a time, like
- 40:57Speaker 7: figures wise.
- 40:58Speaker 3: And I don't even remember how, like most of the
- 41:00Speaker 3: big stuff I would get just like Christmas or birthday.
- 41:02Speaker 7: And that was pretty much it. But I do remember specifically,
- 41:05Speaker 7: it was like, I think it had been my birthday
- 41:09Speaker 7: and I'd gotten money.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:11Speaker 7: And of course, like my only thing was like, well,
- 41:13Speaker 7: they're coming out with more Star Wars figures. And there
- 41:16Speaker 7: was like an ad in the paper. And I'm trying
- 41:18Speaker 7: to remember what it was for. Like, value city or
- 41:21Speaker 7: somewhere like.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Somewhere i didn't go to normally but i'm like but
- 41:25Speaker 3: they're on sale and i think i still had the
- 41:27Speaker 3: ad for years because it was like 97 cents or
- 41:32Speaker 3: something like they were like even then they were way
- 41:35Speaker 3: more than that and they were some sort of crazy
- 41:38Speaker 3: ass sale they were having and like i went there
- 41:40Speaker 3: with all of my birthday money and bought like 13
- 41:42Speaker 3: v it was like the most toys i've ever bought
- 41:45Speaker 3: myself at any one time in my life Now I
- 41:49Speaker 3: put that to shame all the time. But at the time,
- 41:51Speaker 3: I was like, I never had money, so I never
- 41:54Speaker 3: bought that much.
- 41:54Speaker 7: So I was like, everything. I was like, and this one,
- 41:56Speaker 7: and this. I don't even know. I haven't seen this movie.
- 41:58Speaker 7: I don't know what this is, but I'm buying it anyway. Yeah,
- 42:02Speaker 7: that's the most I bought myself of little toys. Everything
- 42:06Speaker 7: else was just like, wait for Christmas, and maybe I'll
- 42:09Speaker 7: get a sleeve on.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Never.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Never even got one as an adult.
- 42:14Speaker 5: What?
- 42:15Speaker 1: Slave 1.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Do you want a Slave 1?
- 42:17Speaker 7: No, I don't want one now.
- 42:18Speaker 3: I bought the redone version and then I didn't like
- 42:21Speaker 3: the colors. And then I stuck my other one.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Back on the shelf.
- 42:25Speaker 7: I was like, well, I've still got the old one
- 42:26Speaker 7: and those colors are cooler.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I think when the second run came out, when they
- 42:33Speaker 1: did the re-release, I bought a bunch of the figures.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I re-bought an X-Wing. I think I wanted to buy
- 42:43Speaker 1: a Slave 1, but I think I think they were
- 42:46Speaker 1: hard to find, I want to say.
- 42:48Speaker 7: I know the figures were super hard to find at
- 42:50Speaker 7: the time.
- 42:51Speaker 1: At the time.
- 42:52Speaker 3: Because then I was a dork and found some and
- 42:54Speaker 3: bought a bunch of them.
- 42:56Speaker 7: They're still in the box somewhere. If somebody out.
- 42:58Speaker 3: There needs Power of the Force Boba Fett, let me
- 43:01Speaker 3: know because I've still got them in the package.
- 43:07Speaker 1: My friend's mom worked at Walmart. Inside track. Inside track.
- 43:13Speaker 1: So she would set the box aside of what we wanted. Like,
- 43:17Speaker 1: we would tell her what we wanted, and she would
- 43:18Speaker 1: go through and pick them all out. You totally can't
- 43:21Speaker 1: do that.
- 43:21Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Can't do that.
- 43:23Speaker 7: As someone who worked at a toy store for years,
- 43:24Speaker 7: that's fireable.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well, his mom did that. And we also, one
- 43:31Speaker 1: of my buddies would go through, and if he found
- 43:33Speaker 1: figures that he needed but didn't have money for, he
- 43:38Speaker 1: would pop open the bottom shelf and shove them in there.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 1: And then we had money, we would come back.
- 43:44Speaker 7: And get them. We'd, we'd find people doing that over
- 43:46Speaker 7: the years.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Hide them? Yeah, you hide them so that you can
- 43:49Speaker 1: come back and get them later.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Yup.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Yup.
- 43:52Speaker 7: The tricks of the illegal trade.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Good times.
- 43:57Speaker 1: But yeah, I ended up giving away all my Star
- 43:59Speaker 1: Wars stuff. I had a friend, a really good friend
- 44:02Speaker 1: that was a huge Star Wars fan, uh, had all
- 44:05Speaker 1: the original figures and everything, like original, original figures when
- 44:07Speaker 1: we were a kid. And, uh, His house got hit
- 44:11Speaker 1: by a tornado.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 44:13Speaker 1: And it destroyed, like, I mean, it destroyed their family's house.
- 44:18Speaker 1: So his family was, like, homeless for a while. And
- 44:21Speaker 1: I just was like, hey, here's all my Star Wars stuff.
- 44:26Speaker 7: That's kind of awesome.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Because I was.
- 44:29Speaker 7: I still have those traumatic thoughts of.
- 44:32Speaker 5: Didn't that happen to what's-his-face that you all were good
- 44:34Speaker 5: friends with?
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah, which, again, I talked to him recently. I guess
- 44:38Speaker 3: I won't out him by name, but I talked to
- 44:40Speaker 3: him recently on the internets, and I think about that
- 44:44Speaker 3: all the time, because he was the kind of guy
- 44:46Speaker 3: who had, and anybody who knows him, one of which
- 44:49Speaker 3: in particular will know who I'm talking about right now.
- 44:51Speaker 7: It was a running joke that he had, I don't
- 44:54Speaker 7: even remember the number, like.
- 44:56Speaker 5: 11 R5 D4s.
- 45:02Speaker 7: Like, not R2.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:04Speaker 8: R5-D4.
- 45:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 45:05Speaker 7: The broken ass robot. And he had, like, variations of it.
- 45:09Speaker 8: Wow.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Like, this one was this package. But this was, like,
- 45:12Speaker 3: a weird thing that they did on this package that
- 45:13Speaker 3: was different than this other package.
- 45:15Speaker 7: All of them. He had all of them. Fire in
- 45:18Speaker 7: his house.
- 45:19Speaker 12: Wow.
- 45:19Speaker 7: I still... Like, it creeps me out to think about that.
- 45:22Speaker 7: Lost all of his Star Wars toys.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Well, see, the only reason... The reason I gave all
- 45:27Speaker 1: my stuff to him was... He was a collector of stuff,
- 45:30Speaker 1: and at the time, I wasn't really collecting anything, and
- 45:35Speaker 1: I was still kind of living out of my car.
- 45:37Speaker 5: You can't put all those Star Wars toys in your car.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't put all that shit in my car.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I was like, you know what? I was like, do
- 45:41Speaker 1: I really need all this stuff? Because I go through
- 45:44Speaker 1: phases like that where I'm just like, you know what?
- 45:46Speaker 1: All I need is a good knife and a backpack and.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I feel like you've come around these days.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I approve of your stuff, so I don't care.
- 46:00Speaker 1: 300 backpacks and a shit ton of knives.
- 46:04Speaker 7: Swords.
- 46:07Speaker 5: 498 tiki mugs.
- 46:08Speaker 7: As long as you got cool stuff. That's all that matters.
- 46:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 46:12Speaker 7: That's what gets us through.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Well, you know, the thing is, too, I mean, we've
- 46:15Speaker 1: been in the same place for so long now. I
- 46:17Speaker 1: think this is the longest I've ever been in one place.
- 46:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 46:20Speaker 1: I used to move from year to year, so I
- 46:23Speaker 1: never spent more than a year in one place.
- 46:25Speaker 5: And everything you have used to fit in this trunk
- 46:27Speaker 5: that's underneath.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the trunk that's back there in the corner. Everything
- 46:31Speaker 1: I own fit in that trunk. So it used to
- 46:34Speaker 1: not be the crow trunk. It used to just be
- 46:36Speaker 1: my trunk. It's an instrument's trunk that... Came from.
- 46:41Speaker 7: Where your tuba used to be.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Don't pretend. The Air Force.
- 46:44Speaker 7: Your sousaphone.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Throw away.
- 46:48Speaker 5: And that's the crow trunk.
- 46:49Speaker 1: That's the crow trunk. Well, I mean... All my crow memorabilia.
- 46:52Speaker 5: And Brandon Lee miscellaneous stuff. Huh? And they're miscellaneous Brandon
- 46:57Speaker 5: Lee stuff or is it all the crow that they
- 46:58Speaker 5: had to.
- 46:59Speaker 1: There's... Yeah, it's miscellaneous.
- 47:01Speaker 5: Laser mission in there?
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah, laser mission stuff.
- 47:03Speaker 7: Showdown in little Tokyo.
- 47:04Speaker 4: Stuff.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Yep, showdown. Stuff from Rapid Fire. A lot of movie posters.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Anything that I could grab from... Suncoast. Anything that I
- 47:14Speaker 1: could grab.
- 47:14Speaker 7: So I sold you that stuff.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you probably sold me most of the stuff.
- 47:16Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure. Because that is around the time I
- 47:18Speaker 7: remember you hanging out there. Yeah, I'd come in and
- 47:20Speaker 7: grab all the clear stuff.
- 47:21Speaker 1: I probably wronged you.
- 47:23Speaker 7: And went, damn, I was going to buy this. Yeah.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Waiting for stuff to go on sale. You know, I
- 47:28Speaker 1: don't know.
- 47:29Speaker 7: I do have the City of Angels one sheet still
- 47:32Speaker 7: on the cardboard. Because the posters were hard to come by.
- 47:35Speaker 5: He won't watch any of this.
- 47:36Speaker 7: Oh, no, it's terrible. No, it is a nightmare.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:39Speaker 7: But it was... the posters would only come in once
- 47:43Speaker 7: most of the time.
- 47:43Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 47:44Speaker 7: And usually it was well before the movies came out
- 47:47Speaker 7: because it was like, here's the big release. Here's the
- 47:49Speaker 7: movies coming out this summer or whatever. So like you
- 47:52Speaker 7: would get those in like, so anything I got, so
- 47:54Speaker 7: most of the posters I had, I bought beforehand. A
- 47:56Speaker 7: lot of them were stuff I already knew, you know,
- 47:58Speaker 7: it was, or, you know, here's a Pulp Fiction poster.
- 48:01Speaker 7: It was like, Oh, well, cool. I know what that is.
- 48:03Speaker 3: That one came out because it was one of the
- 48:05Speaker 3: new releases. And I was like, Oh fuck, it's the crow.
- 48:08Speaker 7: I need this.
- 48:09Speaker 3: And then I got it, and it sat in the cardboard,
- 48:11Speaker 3: and then I went to the theater and saw it,
- 48:13Speaker 3: and I went, what the hell is going on here?
- 48:16Speaker 5: Are you not a big fan of Vincent Perez? Is
- 48:18Speaker 5: it Vincent Perez?
- 48:20Speaker 7: It's... Again, I haven't watched it since the theater. I
- 48:23Speaker 7: was just so like.
- 48:25Speaker 5: Was Iggy Pop in that one?
- 48:27Speaker 7: I think that was the problem. And I like Iggy Pop,
- 48:29Speaker 7: even in stuff, not just musically. As an actor, he's
- 48:32Speaker 7: a weirdo, but sometimes he is perfect for the role,
- 48:35Speaker 7: but I feel like That, and they had another villain
- 48:39Speaker 7: type guy that was horrible. It's a whole thing. So, yeah,
- 48:43Speaker 7: I feel like Vincent was the least of their worries. But, yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 7: Never saw it.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Refused to see it.
- 48:48Speaker 5: It's got the Edward Furlong one.
- 48:49Speaker 1: I refused to see that one, too.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Isn't there another one? Oh, the Eric Mobius?
- 48:53Speaker 7: Yeah, the one with, what's his face? I have.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I think I told you. I've got some of the Suncoast.
- 49:02Speaker 7: The big black and whites?
- 49:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 49:04Speaker 7: We were talking about those the other day somewhere.
- 49:07Speaker 1: They are, but they're not. They came out during Halloween.
- 49:10Speaker 7: Okay.
- 49:11Speaker 1: So they're big, huge cardboard, black and white. One of
- 49:14Speaker 1: them's got Michael Myers' face. The other one's got Freddy
- 49:17Speaker 1: Krueger's face.
- 49:17Speaker 5: Oh, you had Ash, too. Or did you not?
- 49:19Speaker 1: It's the skull from Evil Dead. And the other one's Pinhead.
- 49:26Speaker 3: I also still have a huge number of those big
- 49:28Speaker 3: black and whites from the top of the... So once again,
- 49:31Speaker 3: if you guys need those, I don't know how to
- 49:33Speaker 3: ship them without them being destroyed because any shipping company
- 49:36Speaker 3: is going to trash them.
- 49:38Speaker 5: We do that on a regular basis.
- 49:39Speaker 7: So that's why I was like, I'm like, somebody out
- 49:42Speaker 7: there needs them. I don't want to get rid of them.
- 49:43Speaker 5: You just need to set up a booth at these conventions.
- 49:44Speaker 7: That's what I'm saying.
- 49:46Speaker 3: If somebody will get me a booth and let me sell.
- 49:47Speaker 7: All this crap.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I don't think you guys were supposed to give those away,
- 49:49Speaker 1: were you?
- 49:50Speaker 7: In the beginning, we didn't. People used to ask for
- 49:52Speaker 7: them all day long.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Hey, can we buy these?
- 49:56Speaker 7: And I'm like, no, just go away. So for years,
- 49:59Speaker 7: we just told people, get lost.
- 50:00Speaker 3: And then finally, I think they just wanted to swap
- 50:02Speaker 3: them out and put new stuff in there because they
- 50:05Speaker 3: were all really classic stuff. And then eventually, they picked
- 50:08Speaker 3: more like, Here's some cool 90s movies that we're going
- 50:10Speaker 3: to put up there.
- 50:10Speaker 7: Because technically the.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Guy told me they weren't supposed to get rid of them. Originally.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And I bitched at him because I was like, the
- 50:17Speaker 1: other guy here the other day, I paid him money
- 50:19Speaker 1: and he said I could come get him. And the
- 50:22Speaker 1: guy was just like, all right, here, take him and
- 50:26Speaker 1: shut up.
- 50:26Speaker 5: Did you actually give the other guy money?
- 50:29Speaker 1: Fuck, I don't know. But no, eventually they swapped out.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Maybe I did. I don't know.
- 50:35Speaker 3: They swapped out and put some new ones in there.
- 50:37Speaker 3: And then they did officially sell them.
- 50:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:40Speaker 3: But again, that was like a long time before that happened.
- 50:44Speaker 3: And then if you were in some stores, some idiot
- 50:46Speaker 3: that worked there would buy a whole fucking bunch.
- 50:48Speaker 7: Of them and then not have anything to do with them.
- 50:52Speaker 3: When I had my apartment, I remember that was the
- 50:56Speaker 3: only one I remember like kind of. And I have
- 50:59Speaker 3: somewhere I had the Back to the Future one that
- 51:01Speaker 3: was like Doc and Marty standing next to the DeLorean.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:04Speaker 7: That one was cool. I think I had that out
- 51:06Speaker 7: at one point. And then in that first apartment I had,
- 51:09Speaker 7: I had the Thelma and Louise were like sitting on
- 51:11Speaker 7: the car. I had that just like lean up against
- 51:14Speaker 7: the wall because they're so huge. You can't even hang
- 51:16Speaker 7: them up, really. They're just giant.
- 51:18Speaker 3: So that was like sitting there just being cool. And
- 51:21Speaker 3: other than that, most of the others are in the
- 51:23Speaker 3: box that they were in right now. It was sat
- 51:26Speaker 3: there ever since.
- 51:28Speaker 7: Because where the hell am.
- 51:28Speaker 1: I going to put them? They're giant. There was a
- 51:33Speaker 1: house that I lived in. that had this weird, creepy
- 51:36Speaker 1: ass basement that we didn't know it had a basement because,
- 51:41Speaker 1: because the, because the fridge was in front of the
- 51:44Speaker 1: door that went to the basement, which was weird. We
- 51:47Speaker 1: didn't know.
- 51:48Speaker 7: Was there a secret door?
- 51:50Speaker 1: It was small. It was, it was weird. Dude, it
- 51:53Speaker 1: was a weird, weird house.
- 51:55Speaker 3: I do need a house with secret passages, but, uh,
- 51:57Speaker 3: still waiting to put that together.
- 51:59Speaker 1: Uh, when we, when we got there, uh, I had
- 52:06Speaker 1: to move the fridge because somebody didn't like where the
- 52:08Speaker 1: fridge was, so I moved it, and when we did,
- 52:10Speaker 1: there was a door there that was like a small door,
- 52:14Speaker 1: like a door for a.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Hobbit? Like a pantry. Like a fucking closet for spices
- 52:22Speaker 1: and shit. So we opened that up, and I was like, oh, cool,
- 52:27Speaker 1: it's like a little cabin with... Wait a minute, there's
- 52:30Speaker 1: stairs over here to the side. And you go down
- 52:35Speaker 1: the steps, rickety-ass steps, and it gets into the basement.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And you flip on a light, and there's a little
- 52:40Speaker 1: room in the basement.
- 52:43Speaker 5: I'm more surprised that light still works.
- 52:45Speaker 8: Why?
- 52:45Speaker 5: Because lights burn out.
- 52:47Speaker 7: And it's been years.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Well, I don't know that it's been years, but.
- 52:50Speaker 3: We'll pretend he had a torch if it makes it
- 52:52Speaker 3: more cinematic.
- 52:53Speaker 1: But the lights, you know, it lit up, and I
- 52:55Speaker 1: was like, okay, cool. You know, there's a weird closet
- 52:57Speaker 1: down there. The mysterious bloodstains. And there was a door
- 53:01Speaker 1: off to the side. And that led to.
- 53:08Speaker 2: The furnace.
- 53:14Speaker 1: And it was an old house, so it still had
- 53:15Speaker 1: the coal furnace down there. But it had the new
- 53:18Speaker 1: furnace next to it, but it had the big old...
- 53:20Speaker 1: You know the burbs? The furnace that they burn the
- 53:23Speaker 1: people in? That's what that fucking furnace looked like.
- 53:26Speaker 7: So that's where they were burning?
- 53:28Speaker 1: It looked like the furnace from the burbs. I was like,
- 53:32Speaker 1: holy shit, you know, that's cool.
- 53:33Speaker 5: Sounds like a horror movie.
- 53:35Speaker 1: But that's where I put all my horror posters was
- 53:37Speaker 1: downstairs in that basement. I had everything set up with
- 53:40Speaker 1: my room, my DVD player and stuff like that. And
- 53:43Speaker 1: that was my hangout for a while.
- 53:45Speaker 5: Reminds me of that thing I just saw on the internet.
- 53:47Speaker 5: I guess it happened a couple months ago. A woman
- 53:49Speaker 5: in New York, I don't know if you all saw it.
- 53:52Speaker 5: She had this apartment in New York, which you know
- 53:53Speaker 5: apartments in New York are probably ridiculously overpriced anyways. She's
- 53:56Speaker 5: in her bathroom and she pulls her, she can feel
- 53:59Speaker 5: something from the mirror and she pulls her medicine cabinet
- 54:02Speaker 5: out and there's an abandoned, creepy, derelict apartment unused on
- 54:06Speaker 5: the other side of her apartment that seems like somebody's
- 54:08Speaker 5: been camping out in there.
- 54:10Speaker 3: I was going to say, if not for that last part,
- 54:12Speaker 3: I'd be like, start moving in.
- 54:15Speaker 7: You get twice as much space for the same rent.
- 54:17Speaker 1: Hell yeah.
- 54:18Speaker 5: But she crawled through there. Her friends were freaking out.
- 54:21Speaker 5: They're like, what are you doing? Somebody could be over there.
- 54:23Speaker 5: You don't know what's over there. If somebody's been squatting
- 54:27Speaker 5: in this empty, abandoned... Because first of all, whoever owned
- 54:33Speaker 5: this building could be charging more.
- 54:35Speaker 7: Yeah, you would think they would know that it was
- 54:37Speaker 7: there just so they could get more money.
- 54:39Speaker 3: They would do a full check to make sure, where.
- 54:42Speaker 7: Else can I rent out in this? What corner of
- 54:45Speaker 7: the basement can I charge somebody $ 700 for?
- 54:48Speaker 1: I've lived in some apartments like that. They're in the basement.
- 54:52Speaker 1: No windows.
- 54:54Speaker 7: Fire hazard.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Absolutely no windows. Red flag.
- 54:59Speaker 5: But just to think, because her medicine cabinet just popped
- 55:01Speaker 5: right out, so somebody could have been in there, popped
- 55:03Speaker 5: her medicine cabinet out, and came right into her place
- 55:05Speaker 5: at any time.
- 55:06Speaker 7: And maybe did, and put it back when they were done.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Don't know.
- 55:09Speaker 5: The fact that she just crawled her ass in there, too,
- 55:12Speaker 5: with her, like, I'm going to go on an adventure. Like, bitch,
- 55:14Speaker 5: where are you going?
- 55:15Speaker 7: Well, I mean, you've seen that.
- 55:17Speaker 1: That's how you die.
- 55:18Speaker 7: That YouTube video, right?
- 55:19Speaker 3: Which later, I'm pretty sure they said was fake, but
- 55:22Speaker 3: I assume everything on the internet's fake.
- 55:24Speaker 7: So at this point I'm like, I don't care. It's
- 55:25Speaker 7: just a fun story.
- 55:26Speaker 3: But like the guy that kept noticing like stuff missing
- 55:29Speaker 3: from his refrigerator or whatever. So he like, without saying anything,
- 55:34Speaker 3: set up a camera and kind of left it running.
- 55:37Speaker 3: And then like, there's this weird layout to this place.
- 55:40Speaker 3: And like the whole, like up above this doorway is
- 55:43Speaker 3: this whole big like area. And like the middle of
- 55:47Speaker 3: the night, like this lady pops the door open and
- 55:49Speaker 3: comes down and standing around his kitchen drinking his orange
- 55:52Speaker 3: juice or.
- 55:53Speaker 10: Whatever there have been real things of that happening yeah
- 55:55Speaker 10: i think that stuff is all real i think that
- 55:57Speaker 10: footage was faked but all of the stories about it
- 56:00Speaker 10: you know there's plenty of true stories that are the
- 56:02Speaker 10: exact same thing.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Happening that's such a nightmare we don't have to worry
- 56:06Speaker 1: about it here because that's see that's the plan for
- 56:09Speaker 1: us hoarders you put enough shit.
- 56:11Speaker 3: In there nobody can come get that was even as
- 56:12Speaker 3: a kid that was my plan because other people like
- 56:15Speaker 3: kids would be worried about like.
- 56:16Speaker 7: Underneath the bed. I'm like, man, I had so much shit.
- 56:19Speaker 5: Ain't nothing getting under my bed.
- 56:20Speaker 7: No monster or woogie man could ever get under there,
- 56:23Speaker 7: so I was safe.
- 56:25Speaker 5: No monster big enough to do any damage. We could
- 56:27Speaker 5: have little mice-sized monsters underneath there, maybe.
- 56:30Speaker 7: Which you get those later. Stories to tell in the dark.
- 56:33Speaker 5: Oh, dude, I showed Boyfriend some pictures from those books.
- 56:36Speaker 5: They are fucking still some of the most terrifying shit
- 56:38Speaker 5: I've ever seen. Did you ever watch that movie?
- 56:43Speaker 7: Is that the The one recently?
- 56:45Speaker 5: I keep forgetting.
- 56:45Speaker 7: What's the one from.
- 56:49Speaker 3: What's the one a few years before that that was
- 56:50Speaker 3: the Guillermo del Toro produced one about the little.
- 56:53Speaker 1: People in the dark? Oh, is that got the one
- 56:56Speaker 1: that had the teeth fairy?
- 56:58Speaker 7: No. It's another. What was that from? It's a whole
- 57:00Speaker 7: different one.
- 57:01Speaker 1: What was that from?
- 57:02Speaker 7: There is a tooth fairy movie from like 90s?
- 57:05Speaker 12: No.
- 57:07Speaker 1: It seemed like it was a part of a different
- 57:08Speaker 1: movie where it had these little fairies.
- 57:11Speaker 7: But I don't remember.
- 57:14Speaker 1: I don't remember why they were tooth fairies. I don't
- 57:16Speaker 1: think they came after your teeth.
- 57:18Speaker 7: I think they had teeth.
- 57:19Speaker 1: And I think they just did.
- 57:20Speaker 7: They look like The Rock.
- 57:22Speaker 5: No.
- 57:23Speaker 7: I might have seen this movie.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 57:28Speaker 3: I was trying to think of something I'd watched lately.
- 57:30Speaker 1: And then.
- 57:31Speaker 7: I.
- 57:34Speaker 3: Remember hearing about this when it came out. And then
- 57:37Speaker 3: I was like, well, anything about the world ending, I'll
- 57:40Speaker 3: probably watch that. Especially these days.
- 57:42Speaker 7: So I watched How It Ends.
- 57:45Speaker 5: I remember hearing about it, but I never watched it.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of those that just, I think it
- 57:49Speaker 3: might be Netflix produced.
- 57:50Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 57:51Speaker 7: Just popped up on Netflix and you're like, oh. And
- 57:53Speaker 7: I would assume it's like, oh, this random movie with
- 57:56Speaker 7: nobody in it. But Forest Whitaker's in it. I'm like, okay.
- 57:59Speaker 7: So it must be like a pretty legit movie.
- 58:04Speaker 1: What the hell? It's got....
- 58:08Speaker 3: All these pieces of things that could make a cool movie,
- 58:11Speaker 3: and then.
- 58:12Speaker 7: They just kind of go, but we're going to go
- 58:13Speaker 7: over here instead. So watch them drive around for.
- 58:18Speaker 5: An hour and a half instead. What was the del
- 58:21Speaker 5: Toro one you were talking about?
- 58:23Speaker 7: That's a whole different thing.
- 58:24Speaker 5: Well, you mentioned it. Now I want to know what
- 58:25Speaker 5: it was. I thought it had something to do with
- 58:28Speaker 5: the scary tales to tell in the dark. Or scary stories.
- 58:33Speaker 3: This was the other one that was like the remake
- 58:34Speaker 3: of the TV movie that had little creatures in it
- 58:38Speaker 3: that would come out in the dark and climb around.
- 58:40Speaker 2: No.
- 58:41Speaker 7: Now we have to look it up. So, yes.
- 58:47Speaker 3: The Scary Stories to Tell the Dark, more recently, was
- 58:50Speaker 3: produced by Del Toro.
- 58:52Speaker 7: And I saw it, and it was actually, yeah, I was...
- 58:55Speaker 7: I ended up... I expected it to be something else.
- 58:58Speaker 7: It was actually a little more of a conventional... Creepy
- 59:01Speaker 7: kids running around.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Again, I think it focused more on the kids, which
- 59:05Speaker 3: I liked. So I liked that part of the story.
- 59:08Speaker 3: And then there were some creepy monsters, too.
- 59:10Speaker 5: For me, in a kids movie, it was really creepy.
- 59:13Speaker 5: It had some creepy stuff. Did you ever see the books, though?
- 59:16Speaker 3: I've seen the pictures in it after the fact. It
- 59:19Speaker 3: is one of those, somehow, as a kid, I didn't
- 59:21Speaker 3: see those as much as I liked weird, scary stuff
- 59:24Speaker 3: as a kid, but no.
- 59:25Speaker 5: I've got a couple of them, and holy shit, they're creepy.
- 59:28Speaker 3: So yeah, that's... that more recent one the one i
- 59:32Speaker 3: was originally thinking of was the 2010 one.
- 59:35Speaker 7: That's don't be afraid of the dark that is also
- 59:38Speaker 7: produced by del toro and was pretty good actually again
- 59:42Speaker 7: it's one of those you can always tell when he's
- 59:44Speaker 7: producer and not director so it's not quite as cool
- 59:48Speaker 7: as most of his stuff but you can see he's
- 59:50Speaker 7: got his hand in it and it's creepy and but
- 59:52Speaker 7: yeah it had little creatures and it was kind of
- 59:55Speaker 7: a redone version of an old story and I.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Remember it being pretty cool.
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: Yeah, I remember that one. But yeah, that End of
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: the World movie. What the hell, man? It was just.
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: I don't know where they got that guy from. There's
- 1:00:11Speaker 7: like the main dude and he ends up like visiting
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: his girlfriend's parents and then at that moment the world
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: like shuts down or some sort of thing. There's an event.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: We don't really know what it is. And then he
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: decides he's gonna go like drive back halfway across country
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: to get to his girlfriend. And of course, then her
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: dad wants to go with him. So it's this, they're
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: already not great. You know, it's the weird in-laws thing.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: They're like not really getting along anyway when he gets
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: with him.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: And now they're stuck on a road trip together trying
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: to go save her.
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: There's moments that are like, okay, that's got potential. And
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: then there's just, they don't ever really get to anything.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: epic enough to sell this, like, end-of-the-world thing. There's, like,
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: every day or two some other weird things going on.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: And you're like, okay, that's kind of a cool idea
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: if we went with it. And then they drive on
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: and something else happens.
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: And I'm like, but... Well, what the hell was that about?
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: And why did we... And then we get to the end.
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: And I won't spoil it, but I'm just like... Credits here? Really?
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: Like, it just.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know how they sprung for Forest Witter.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: I'm assuming that was the whole budget.
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: Because, I mean, even the effects weren't that amazing.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: Maybe it was somebody a favor or something.
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: I'm assuming it was one of those deals. It was like,
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: we're probably not going to get this greenlit. Wait, we
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: suckered Forest into doing this? Okay, we got the backing now.
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: We can make this move. So, yeah.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: Anything else we need to say?
- 1:01:46Speaker 7: Did you watch anything else?
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: Because I don't think I watched anything.
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: I was trying to think if there was anything else.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: We could talk some more about Tommy Dawkins and how
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: dreamy he is.
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: That's every day of your life.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: I know it is. He likes to ride bicycles. And
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: likes the Denver Broncos. I don't know about him and
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: his personal life.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: See, on the other hand, I mentioned I watched this recently,
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: but I didn't go into it.
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: I did finally.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: I saw it pop up on Redbox, and I was like, hmm,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: what is that? Seems like I would know a movie
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: called Love and Monsters. But I hadn't heard anything about it.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: And then it sat there for several times. I passed
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: by it and I'm like, I don't really have time
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: But one of these times, I'll probably get that. I
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: finally did. Really liked it. I was surprised. I expected
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: it to just be kind of dumb.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: And I'm like, the premise may be in your brain.
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: I don't know. But I thought it was fun. And
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: it had a pretty well put together story of this...
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: guy again.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: It's it's into the world so that's the most important
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: part but so the world's taken over by giant monsters
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: that are sort of variations of things that are already
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: here so like some sort of giant frog or a
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: lizard or something but they just become this giant mutated
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: version and some of them are just weird things they're
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: just like i don't know what that is but it's
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: kind of cool looks like it rolled out a never-ending
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: story so i'm sold on it so there's lots of
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: giant monsters only if it's.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: Not the first one and not the second one because
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: that weird.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Bird creature those other two But the yeah, it was
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: it was a surprisingly well put together like version of
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: this guy who kind of had never done anything again.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: He'd been like locked in a bunker.
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: More or less.
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: Everybody just sort of the people that survived, like took
- 1:03:37Speaker 7: off and went to different bunkers. And like this girl
- 1:03:39Speaker 7: that was his girlfriend was in one that was like
- 1:03:43Speaker 7: miles and miles away. And like he hadn't even talked
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: to her in years. And finally they got like a
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: ham radio set up going. And he found out she
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: was still alive and she was still there. So he's
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: just like, oh my God, I'm going to go see her.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: So he decides to go. Well, yeah, probably not a
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: good plan, but he decides to go out and make
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: his way to her.
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: What was the TV show that we watched that had
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: the exact same premise as this, except for with no monsters?
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: End of the World. End of the World Apocalypse. And
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: he has to go find his girlfriend who he thought
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: was dead.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Who ends up being a complete, just horrible person.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: She's the worst. But what was it?
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't remember.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: That was a good show. I liked that show.
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: But it had the exact same, like, he had to
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: go find his girlfriend because he thought she was dead.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: It was a zombie apocalypse that only affected the adults.
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: Well, it was Daybreakers. I watched that because you told
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: me about it.
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: Wasn't it good?
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: I really liked Daybreakers. It was awesome.
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: And she was a horrible person.
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: I mean.
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: She was, don't lie. Don't sugarcoat it.
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: They did it.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I thought that was an amazing show
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: because everybody continually changed. Like they would get an episode
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: to themselves and you'd be like, okay, I know who
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: this person is.
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: I got them figured out.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: And then like you'd get a different perspective from somebody
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: else or from a different scenario.
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: And you're like, oh, well now they're. huh, like everybody
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: kind of had a different facet to them the more
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: you got into it.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Again, way more sophisticated character development than you expect about
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: a zombie apocalypse kind of a show.
- 1:05:12Speaker 7: But it was so good. Especially a funny one is
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: as entertaining as that was. So good.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I was really impressed with that.
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: And Love and Monsters 2. It's that same kind of thing.
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: It's like, it really, like, by the end of it,
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: it gets this whole, like, It develops the characters pretty well,
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: and it has him going on this whole, like, figuring
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: out who he's supposed to be in this world. And, like, yeah,
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: way more than I expected.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: And the monsters must look pretty cool, because this was
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: my comment recently, was, like, it got nominated for an Oscar.
- 1:05:44Speaker 7: So, in a year when they didn't make that many movies... Fuck.
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: The Oscars, I will repeat again, because they left out Marianne.
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: Oh, Lord.
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: And I know she was more of a TV actress
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: than a movie actress, but if I had to fucking
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: sit through The Town That Dreaded Sun, or whatever. Sundown. Whatever.
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: Then she should have at least been, because she was
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: in more than a few movies.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: And Corey Hayne.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: She was in a couple.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: Well, that was a given. That's why. Yeah, they're already
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: dead to me for cutting out Corey Hayne. But fuck them,
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: double fuck them for leaving out Mary Ann.
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: And they put a lot of people in, because I
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: watched it this year, and they were flying through.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: I guess because a lot of people died last year.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: But like it was triple time compared to most years.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Like most years it's just like person sits there for
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: a beat. Go to the next person. This was like person, person, person.
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: I was just like, geez, I don't even know who
- 1:06:33Speaker 7: this person was. If they weren't a huge person that
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: you already recognize, if you're like a hairdresser. Oh, no,
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: I don't know. It's gone now. Special effect. Nope, nope, gone.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Like any of these other people. I'm like, I don't
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: even know who they were. They're dead already. And now
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: I don't even get to learn who they were.
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: Because you guys were scrolling through this shit. Anyway, monsters.
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: Monsters are cool. It also has crazy-ass Michael Rooker in it.
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: Ah, Rooker.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: And he's as entertaining as he always is. How can
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: you not love Michael Rooker? Even if you think he's
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: a crazy bastard, you're right. And he's adorable, and you
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: have to love him. So it's got him in a
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: special appearance. And what is that girl's name?
- 1:07:17Speaker 7: Ariana Greenblatt?
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Who I only know because, again, she's on kid shows.
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: But, like, for a little kid actress, she's surprisingly good.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: So, they have a nice little appearance in there.
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: So, yeah, it was a lot of fun. I'm surprised.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: I always forget that Michael Rooker's in... Mall rats.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: How do you forget? What were you going to say earlier?
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: You were going to say something.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: It's not important. I just always forget.
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: Because this has been in a complete and utter.
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: Because everything else is essential knowledge on this show.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I don't remember. I don't really care. So it wasn't
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: that important.
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: It's important to me. Your thoughts and feelings.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Really? Are they?
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: What the fuck's that supposed to mean?
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: What? That my every thought is that important?
- 1:08:08Speaker 7: Not every thought.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Something of some stupid shit.
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: I know. You usually tell me those thoughts. Why is
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: this one any different?
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: We usually devote a whole episode to them.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you talking about?
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: That hasn't been said. That's been brought to you by
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: this episode. So, these were our crazy thoughts. It's good
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: to catch up. Get these important thoughts out there into
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: the world every once in a while. maybe next time
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: we'll watch a movie anything else to pass along to
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: people this time around.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: Social distance yeah still.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Don't give it up i hope we get rid of
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: the mask because i'm sick of fighting with them but
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: i'm fine with staying six feet away.
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: From pretty much everybody all the time yeah yeah even
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: people i know i usually don't need to be that
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: close I know, right? Unless I'm cutting through and then
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: I'm like, no.
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: Huge.
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: Just trying to get over there and get a drink.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: Do you do the low crawl?
- 1:09:04Speaker 13: No.
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: Duck.
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: If you duck, it's fine. As long as you duck
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: or you go. So keep that in mind, guys. Social
- 1:09:12Speaker 7: distancing for the rest of your lives. All right. Otherwise,
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: that about does it. We will return next time. Same
- 1:09:20Speaker 7: geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: Bye.
- 1:09:26Speaker 12: I don't want to go to work. I don't want
- 1:09:29Speaker 12: to go to sleep. I don't want to do it.
- 1:09:32Speaker 12: I don't want to do it. I don't want to
- 1:09:35Speaker 12: pay my rent. I don't want to write a song.
- 1:09:41Speaker 13: It could be that I'm lazy or unmotivated.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: I've got plenty to do.
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: I just want to hang out with you. Just want
- 1:09:52Speaker 8: to hang out with you. But I want to hang
- 1:09:57Speaker 8: out with you.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: Just want to hang out with you.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: I don't want to call my friends.
- 1:10:05Speaker 12: I don't want to hear
- 1:10:24Speaker 12: .
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: .
- 1:10:34Speaker 13: .
- 1:10:39Speaker 8: Just wanna hang out with you.
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: But I wanna hang out with you.
- 1:10:43Speaker 12: Just wanna hang out with you.
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: That the days are mine and when I wake up
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: it's not always just this magic all I see is
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: a heart I want and when I'm with you it's
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: something to do with magic I know that the days
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: are mine and when I wake up it's not always
