Latest / Midnight Movie Theatre / M-O-O-N: Is This The Best Stephen King Adaptation? The Stand: Part 4
Transcript
- 0:19Speaker 1: YouTube nuked.
- 0:20Speaker 2: My last video, Part three of the Stand was age restricted.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I guess it's because I was talking about butt fudging
- 0:27Speaker 2: too much. Apparently you're not supposed to talk about butt
- 0:29Speaker 2: fudging that much on YouTube, So this time I'm going
- 0:32Speaker 2: to try to keep it at a minimum. Basically, the
- 0:34Speaker 2: video wasn't promoted to anybody. It almost has has three views,
- 0:38Speaker 2: basically zero views because of that, so it's not good.
- 0:42Speaker 2: With that being said, sign up for my Patreon in
- 0:44Speaker 2: case the show ever gets pulled off the air. The
- 0:46Speaker 2: email that I got about the video said that it
- 0:48Speaker 2: was because I was describing suicide and promoting eating disorders,
- 0:52Speaker 2: which isn't the case. There's nothing about either of those
- 0:55Speaker 2: things in that video, I'm pretty sure. Unfortunately, Part four
- 0:58Speaker 2: of the Stand does have quite a bit of suicide
- 1:00Speaker 2: in it, so I feel like this video is already
- 1:02Speaker 2: doomed from the start.
- 1:04Speaker 1: What am I doing here?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Feels like I just wasted about three to four hours
- 1:07Speaker 2: of my life doing this because YouTube's not gonna help
- 1:11Speaker 2: me out. The funny thing about it is the thing
- 1:13Speaker 2: that I just can't get over is that I'm watching
- 1:16Speaker 2: the Stand on YouTube for free. You can watch the
- 1:19Speaker 2: six hour long nineteen ninety series The Stand on YouTube
- 1:22Speaker 2: for free, and I'm pretty sure it has like hundreds
- 1:24Speaker 2: of thousands of views and stuff like that, and all
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm doing is talking about what's in the movie. But
- 1:29Speaker 2: that video is probably not age restricted orright, it's probably
- 1:32Speaker 2: not getting demonetized or any of that bullshit, but me
- 1:35Speaker 2: just talking about it. And because I'm not using like
- 1:38Speaker 2: the code words because I'm not saying you know, but
- 1:41Speaker 2: because I'm not saying unlive instead of suicide, or because
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm not doing like you know, but in the butt
- 1:48Speaker 2: that's gonna get me age restricted.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Damn YouTube is trying to butt fuck me.
- 1:52Speaker 2: So we're going to try to harness all these frustrations
- 1:56Speaker 2: and put it into a better problem.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Now to the fucking jokey, oh my god.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotta assume that it's really because of all
- 2:03Speaker 2: the butt stuff that was going on between Harold and Nadine,
- 2:05Speaker 2: because that's really probably the most graphic thing that I
- 2:08Speaker 2: was talking about in the last video.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 2:12Speaker 2: We'll just move right on because I could talk about
- 2:15Speaker 2: that all day, and we'll get right into The Stand.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Part four, which is called The Stand. We'll see if
- 2:21Speaker 2: The Stand really licks the standing, if you know what
- 2:24Speaker 2: I'm saying, or sticks the landing with this finale. So
- 2:28Speaker 2: we start out with Harold and Nadine. They're fleeing Boulder.
- 2:31Speaker 2: They just blew up the Free Zone Committee. You would
- 2:33Speaker 2: think they'd be happy as hell, right, because they're going
- 2:36Speaker 2: to Las Vegas. They're meeting up with Randall Flag exactly
- 2:39Speaker 2: what they wanted. Things are going as planned, but Harold
- 2:41Speaker 2: looks kind of fucking pissed. He looks bothered by the
- 2:43Speaker 2: whole thing, and he's kind of like, seems more unsure
- 2:48Speaker 2: than what you would expect from somebody that just bombed
- 2:50Speaker 2: a house full of people. Nadine looks badass, though she
- 2:53Speaker 2: has this cool outfit on. She kind of looks like
- 2:56Speaker 2: a fucking Sailor Moon character for whatever reason. And she's
- 2:59Speaker 2: driving like a Princess Peach style scooter. It's like a
- 3:02Speaker 2: pink scooter that you'd see in Mario's Mario Karp And
- 3:06Speaker 2: so they're going along. They're driving, they're like, all right,
- 3:08Speaker 2: I guess we're going to Vegas. We'll see what the
- 3:10Speaker 2: Devil's got in store for us. Well, apparently what the
- 3:13Speaker 2: devil has in store for them is like a fucking
- 3:15Speaker 2: spinning wheel coick to the face of Harold latter. So
- 3:18Speaker 2: he's going, you know, Randall Flagg just appears before him,
- 3:21Speaker 2: Tornado kicks his ass. He goes flying like fifty fucking
- 3:24Speaker 2: feet over the guard rail, lands down in this ditch.
- 3:28Speaker 2: His ribs are broken, his legs are busted up, he's
- 3:30Speaker 2: got blood all over his face, and he's just like.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Ah, my fucking legs. And Nadine's just.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Kind of like, oh damn, oh scary. And then we
- 3:37Speaker 2: cut over to Stew and he has like this intuitive
- 3:40Speaker 2: feeling that something bad has happened to Harold. He's like, ah,
- 3:43Speaker 2: he spills coffee on his hand, you know, and he's like, shit,
- 3:45Speaker 2: something happened to Harold just now. And they're just kind
- 3:48Speaker 2: of like, oh, okay, that's pretty neat, you know, and
- 3:50Speaker 2: he's just like, yeah, I don't really know.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Something bad.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Maybe he got Hayen kicked off his fucking motorcycle by
- 3:56Speaker 2: Randall Flagger, maybe something else. Nadine just kind of peeks
- 3:59Speaker 2: over at Hair over the guardrail and she's just like
- 4:01Speaker 2: Harold more damned, and he's like, I know, can you
- 4:04Speaker 2: fucking help me out? Though my legs are broken, my
- 4:06Speaker 2: ribs are broken and shit, and she's just kind of like, no,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I think I'm just gonna keep going to Las Vegas.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You know, I gotta go hang out with Randall Flagg.
- 4:14Speaker 2: He's my fucking devil husband. And she's just like he's like,
- 4:17Speaker 2: nay Dan, help me, and she's like, good luck, Harold
- 4:20Speaker 2: and drives off. I will say, right off the bat,
- 4:22Speaker 2: we're getting a lot more crow action in part four
- 4:25Speaker 2: because before Randall Flagga drop kicks Harold off the bike,
- 4:28Speaker 2: he appears as a crow and he's just kind of
- 4:30Speaker 2: like watching them travel around. And this this happens many
- 4:33Speaker 2: times throughout this part of the mini series.
- 4:36Speaker 1: We get a lot of.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Randall flag Crow, even so much so that we see
- 4:40Speaker 2: him transform from a crow into his human version, and
- 4:44Speaker 2: we see crow feathers all over his body still like
- 4:47Speaker 2: he hasn't fully turned back into a human. He's still
- 4:50Speaker 2: got crow shit sticking out of his body. I wonder
- 4:52Speaker 2: if he takes crow shits, like if he just needed to,
- 4:55Speaker 2: What do you guys think if he would have just
- 4:57Speaker 2: been flying along and he just launched a crow shit
- 4:59Speaker 2: right now, Harold Lauder's eyes and that's why he flipped
- 5:02Speaker 2: his motorcycle over the side rail. Would that be as
- 5:04Speaker 2: effective as him appearing to him and basically just like
- 5:07Speaker 2: power bombing his ass down the hill. Let me know
- 5:09Speaker 2: in the comments, guys, we get the judge now, so
- 5:12Speaker 2: we know that the judge is one of the spies
- 5:14Speaker 2: from Boulder that's going to Las Vegas. He's driving his
- 5:16Speaker 2: truck or is like fucking Ford Bronco or whatever all
- 5:20Speaker 2: over the place to get to Las Vegas. He sees
- 5:22Speaker 2: a flu Buddy sign and this makes him pull over.
- 5:25Speaker 2: And it's not because it's just a cool looking flu
- 5:27Speaker 2: Buddy sign and it's got a lot of novelty attached
- 5:29Speaker 2: to this mini series. It's because there's a man crucified
- 5:33Speaker 2: on it and he's just got a little sign on
- 5:35Speaker 2: his body that says drug addicts spelled in hypodermic needles.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So this is what I was talking about in the
- 5:40Speaker 2: last episode where it's like, if you do drugs in
- 5:42Speaker 2: Las Vegas, Randall Flag's gonna burn you a live and
- 5:45Speaker 2: nail you to the cross or something. He's going to
- 5:48Speaker 2: make an example out of you by skinning your body
- 5:51Speaker 2: and leaving you out in the desert. It's it's just
- 5:53Speaker 2: one of those things where it's kind of like there's
- 5:55Speaker 2: this weird moral disparity there where it's like you're cool
- 5:59Speaker 2: with a crucide find people on a flu buddy sign
- 6:01Speaker 2: and burning them alive, but you don't want them to
- 6:04Speaker 2: do drugs in Las Vegas. I don't know how that
- 6:07Speaker 2: want to be a little more obvious to the people
- 6:09Speaker 2: there that like, hey, maybe we shouldn't trust this guy,
- 6:11Speaker 2: like he you know, maybe if you have too many beers,
- 6:14Speaker 2: he'll melt your brain and like launch you into hell.
- 6:17Speaker 2: But if you, you know, melt someone's skin off their
- 6:20Speaker 2: body for drinking too many beers, He's like, that's that's
- 6:24Speaker 2: part of the what I want. That's part of me
- 6:26Speaker 2: doing cool stuff in Vegas. So we know that Randall
- 6:29Speaker 2: Flagg knows about the spies coming. He knows that they're
- 6:32Speaker 2: sending three people to spy on Las Vegas, so he
- 6:36Speaker 2: sets up guards because he's aware that the judge is
- 6:39Speaker 2: going to be driving through Utah or something. He basically
- 6:41Speaker 2: sends up guards to intercept them. One of the guards
- 6:44Speaker 2: is played by Sam Raimi and the other is played
- 6:46Speaker 2: by Tom Holland. So two great filmmakers there doing little
- 6:50Speaker 2: cameos in this. So these guys. They see the judge
- 6:53Speaker 2: fly through town. They kind of seem like a couple
- 6:54Speaker 2: of dipsticks, if you know what I'm saying. They're kind
- 6:56Speaker 2: of just like blundering and drop playing cards, but like
- 6:59Speaker 2: spilling the cards all over the place. And they're like, oh, yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 2: I wonder if we're gonna see that guy, And so
- 7:04Speaker 2: they do. They chase after him and they get him
- 7:06Speaker 2: to pull over, and the judge, you know, right away,
- 7:09Speaker 2: is skeptical about this. He walks out with his gun
- 7:11Speaker 2: drawn and he's just like, who are you guys?
- 7:13Speaker 1: You know?
- 7:14Speaker 2: And uh, Tom Holland gets out and he's he clearly
- 7:17Speaker 2: has a gun in his coat pocket pointed at the judge,
- 7:20Speaker 2: but he's got his other hand down and he's like, Hi,
- 7:22Speaker 2: I'm David, nice to meet you. We just saw he'd
- 7:25Speaker 2: come through town. And sam Ramy's just chilling in the
- 7:27Speaker 2: back of the machine gun like this, and as soon
- 7:29Speaker 2: as the judge sees him, he's just like you bastards,
- 7:32Speaker 2: and he just starts like blasting at them and they
- 7:35Speaker 2: shoot the fuck out of him. Sam Ramy goes nuts, though,
- 7:38Speaker 2: and he just starts spraying bullets everywhere. He kills David.
- 7:41Speaker 2: He kills the judge. The whole thing with the judge though,
- 7:43Speaker 2: is that like Flag wants them to just shoot his body.
- 7:46Speaker 2: He keeps telling him like, don't mark up his face
- 7:48Speaker 2: or whatever, and they keep kind of talking about that, like, remember,
- 7:51Speaker 2: we gotta be really careful about not shooting his face. Well,
- 7:54Speaker 2: apparently Sam Raimi shoots about fifty bullets into his face
- 7:58Speaker 2: and just like annihilates his head. It's way worse than
- 8:00Speaker 2: the buck, but you get the idea that he shot
- 8:03Speaker 2: his face too much. Although we don't see it because
- 8:06Speaker 2: it's made for TV. Obviously, we're not getting as much
- 8:08Speaker 2: gore or anything like that. It's not as graphic of
- 8:11Speaker 2: a movie as you would expect from probably what you'd
- 8:13Speaker 2: see nowadays on TV. He does go over to the
- 8:16Speaker 2: judge and he's kind of like, uh shit, I blew it,
- 8:18Speaker 2: you know. At the same time, though, I'm sure if
- 8:22Speaker 2: they sent because Randall Flagg wants to send his head
- 8:25Speaker 2: over to Boulder, Colorado basically as a message to be like, hey,
- 8:29Speaker 2: don't send spies over here, or we're gonna remove their
- 8:31Speaker 2: heads and send them back to you and stuff like that,
- 8:33Speaker 2: and you kind of get the feeling that like, if
- 8:35Speaker 2: they did this anyway, they would probably realize that it
- 8:38Speaker 2: was the judge, you know what I mean, Like, I'm
- 8:40Speaker 2: sure they would probably still be able to be like,
- 8:41Speaker 2: oh damn, that's probably the judge's head. Yeah, maybe maybe
- 8:45Speaker 2: we shouldn't be sending over spies anymore or something. But
- 8:48Speaker 2: this is where we get crow Randall Flag. He drops
- 8:50Speaker 2: down as a crow and then he turns into human
- 8:53Speaker 2: Randall Flag and he just starts like walking up on
- 8:55Speaker 2: Sam Raymon. He's like, oh, you blew it, your little dipstick,
- 8:58Speaker 2: and he fucking like eats his head or something. You
- 9:00Speaker 2: don't really see it again made for TV, but you
- 9:02Speaker 2: kind of see him like punching and smashing his head.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And then the next time we see Randall Flagg, he's
- 9:07Speaker 2: got like blood all over his mouth. We also see
- 9:09Speaker 2: that Dana is banging Floyd. She's the second spy obviously,
- 9:13Speaker 2: and she's trying to get information. So she got in
- 9:16Speaker 2: good with Floyd and just started bunking around on his
- 9:18Speaker 2: little dinger and he's like loving it, and shit, you know,
- 9:21Speaker 2: he's getting to do sex. So Lloyd's pretty happy. Let's
- 9:24Speaker 2: see find out where we are here in this sequence
- 9:26Speaker 2: with them chasing the judge and all the little town
- 9:29Speaker 2: that they're in Utah. We do get a lot more
- 9:31Speaker 2: great scenes with like dead bodies throughout the town and
- 9:34Speaker 2: like little diners and stuff like that, and just the
- 9:38Speaker 2: makeup with all the dead people that died from Captain
- 9:41Speaker 2: Trips is very consistent and looks great again, very dead
- 9:46Speaker 2: alive ish.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So we get Flag.
- 9:48Speaker 2: He radios into a Lloyd after he's done banging Dana
- 9:51Speaker 2: and he's just like, Hey, the judge is a wash.
- 9:54Speaker 2: He got his fucking head exploded and stuff like that.
- 9:56Speaker 2: We're gonna need to get the second spy.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Now.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I know who the second spot. I've known all along, Lloyd.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I just haven't told you yet because I wanted to
- 10:03Speaker 2: surprise you. And Lloyd's like, who is it. He's like,
- 10:06Speaker 2: it's Dana. It's the lady your banging. You need to
- 10:09Speaker 2: go bring her to me right now, and stuff like that.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Lloyd the Ratman, Julie Lowry and some other guys that
- 10:14Speaker 2: are like Randall Flagg's Hinchmen or whatever. They go and
- 10:17Speaker 2: they're like, hey, we know you're a fucking spy, bitch,
- 10:20Speaker 2: get dressed and we're gonna bring you to Randall Flag now,
- 10:23Speaker 2: and she's kind of like, Okay, well, I actually need
- 10:25Speaker 2: to get dressed in the bathroom by myself real quick.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And they don't like it, but they let her do
- 10:30Speaker 2: it because she's like, you're never gonna see me naked again, Lloyd,
- 10:34Speaker 2: and he's like, all right whatever. While she's getting dressed,
- 10:36Speaker 2: we see that she has like devised a blade, like
- 10:39Speaker 2: a wrist guard blade to shoot out of her arm
- 10:43Speaker 2: to try to stab Randall Flag with it or whatever.
- 10:45Speaker 2: And it's an interesting weapon. It looks like something that
- 10:49Speaker 2: the character Blade would wear from the movie Blade. So
- 10:52Speaker 2: she's got that rigged up. It's all hidden in her
- 10:54Speaker 2: shirt and stuff, and they bring her up to Randall
- 10:57Speaker 2: Flagg's sweet. He basically is like in a business sweet
- 11:01Speaker 2: at this hotel or something, and he's cleared out all
- 11:03Speaker 2: the furniture and Dana's kind of like, why is there
- 11:05Speaker 2: no furniture in here? He's like, Oh, because liars sit
- 11:08Speaker 2: on chairs or something like that. I don't know what
- 11:10Speaker 2: that meant, but I was kind of like, is that
- 11:12Speaker 2: something people say or think or something. I just thought
- 11:14Speaker 2: it was convenient, you know, if you're going to be
- 11:17Speaker 2: talking for a long time to have a place to
- 11:19Speaker 2: sit down. I don't know, doesn't make any sense to me.
- 11:21Speaker 2: So basically he just explains like, hey, I knew that
- 11:24Speaker 2: you and the Judge were coming to spy on here,
- 11:26Speaker 2: and I know that there's a third person too, but
- 11:28Speaker 2: for whatever reason, I can't see who it is. And
- 11:31Speaker 2: so to touch on the book real quick, the Stand
- 11:34Speaker 2: is basically Stephen King's version of the Lord of the Rings,
- 11:37Speaker 2: or at least it's been described that way I believe
- 11:39Speaker 2: by him. It's like the American version, almost like a
- 11:42Speaker 2: sci fi horror version of the Lord of the Rings,
- 11:45Speaker 2: which is, you know, it's a large epic journey story,
- 11:49Speaker 2: and so like Lord of the Rings, Randall Flagg has
- 11:52Speaker 2: an all seeing eye similar to the Eye of sour On,
- 11:54Speaker 2: and he can see everything except for who this third
- 11:58Speaker 2: spy is, and so he's getting a little free out
- 12:00Speaker 2: by that. He's like, every time I try to look
- 12:01Speaker 2: into it, I just see the moon. And then Randall
- 12:05Speaker 2: Flagg actually says, oh, oh in that spells moon, and
- 12:08Speaker 2: he's like, does that mean anything to you, Dana, And
- 12:10Speaker 2: you can tell she's kind of like, oh shit, it
- 12:13Speaker 2: is Tom calling, you know, but she's like, no, that
- 12:16Speaker 2: doesn't mean anything to me, I don't know shit about
- 12:18Speaker 2: the moon and then he's just like, all right, well,
- 12:20Speaker 2: fair enough, we got your bags packed, we're gonna send
- 12:23Speaker 2: you back to Boulder Boulder, just go ahead and tell
- 12:25Speaker 2: everybody that we mean no harm. And she's kind of like,
- 12:28Speaker 2: no shit, all right, well, she kind of heads for
- 12:29Speaker 2: the door, flagging it like steps in front of her
- 12:32Speaker 2: again and he's like, actually, there is one thing that
- 12:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna need you to tell me though, and she's like,
- 12:37Speaker 2: what's that? Who's the moon man? And then he like
- 12:39Speaker 2: turns into a demon face and he grabs her and
- 12:41Speaker 2: starts shaking her. He's like the fuck and she's just
- 12:44Speaker 2: kind of like ah, you know, and she whips out
- 12:46Speaker 2: her blade and she stabs them with it and he
- 12:49Speaker 2: goes like he's.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Like, oh fuck, you got me.
- 12:51Speaker 2: But then she pulls back and the blade is a banana,
- 12:54Speaker 2: so it's another and he just kind of laughs at her.
- 12:56Speaker 2: He's like that was a pretty good joke, wasn't it,
- 12:58Speaker 2: And she's just kind of like, what the fuck? How
- 13:00Speaker 2: the hell did you do that?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Shit?
- 13:01Speaker 2: Also had you turn your head into a demon head.
- 13:03Speaker 2: So that's one of the things with his all seeing eye,
- 13:06Speaker 2: he saw the blade coming, and he knew that he
- 13:08Speaker 2: was going to turn it into a banana with his
- 13:10Speaker 2: dark magic. So while he's just kind of like cracking
- 13:12Speaker 2: up about this, he's like, oh, that was a good one.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I fucking know about all this shit. I know about
- 13:17Speaker 2: lots of things, you know. She kind of just like
- 13:19Speaker 2: casually walks over to this, like it's like a marble
- 13:22Speaker 2: countertop and it has like a glass divider on it.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I keep bumping shit.
- 13:26Speaker 2: She's just like, shit, this guy's gonna torture me until
- 13:29Speaker 2: I tell him about Tom Culling, you know. So she
- 13:31Speaker 2: just goes hey, yea and fucking smashes the glass and
- 13:34Speaker 2: you know, there's broken glass sticking up. He kind of
- 13:36Speaker 2: looks over and he's like.
- 13:37Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 13:37Speaker 2: And she just goes on fucking slams her neck down
- 13:41Speaker 2: on the glass and kills herself. So bye bye YouTube video,
- 13:44Speaker 2: Bye bye monetization, Hello age restrictions, Hello YouTube's censorship. I
- 13:51Speaker 2: just did it. I just ruined the video right there.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Actually this is the second time, no it's the first
- 13:57Speaker 2: time so far that we've mentioned this. But YouTube don't
- 14:00Speaker 2: like it. So I guess, like what I should have
- 14:02Speaker 2: I should have, like you know, done something else, she
- 14:05Speaker 2: unlived herself, Like, how's that any better? Fucking dumbass, fucking dumbasses,
- 14:10Speaker 2: so Flag that he didn't see that shit coming either,
- 14:13Speaker 2: so he's fucking pissed about it. And this is really
- 14:15Speaker 2: the point when you get the sense that like he's
- 14:17Speaker 2: starting to slip up, like he can't see who the
- 14:20Speaker 2: third spy is. He didn't realize that Dana was going
- 14:23Speaker 2: to kill herself, and you know, the judge got killed
- 14:26Speaker 2: in the way that he was not expecting or not
- 14:29Speaker 2: wanting to happen. So like things are starting to not
- 14:31Speaker 2: go as planned for Randall Flagg, Whereas like before in
- 14:35Speaker 2: the book and in the movie, you kind of get
- 14:37Speaker 2: the sense that it's like, how are these fucking guys
- 14:39Speaker 2: gonna compete with Randall Flag? Like he does magic, He's
- 14:43Speaker 2: got devil magic on his side, and he seems to
- 14:45Speaker 2: be you know, like all at least like able to
- 14:48Speaker 2: see into the future and kind of predict what moves
- 14:51Speaker 2: they're gonna make. I wouldn't say he seems like all knowing,
- 14:53Speaker 2: but you get the sense that he kinda is aware
- 14:56Speaker 2: of what's going to happen. So it's like, what are
- 14:58Speaker 2: they gonna do? Beat this guy. But this is where
- 15:00Speaker 2: you start to see some of his weaknesses and that
- 15:02Speaker 2: he's not as in control as he appeared to be.
- 15:05Speaker 2: We get a quick scene where Tom sees that the
- 15:07Speaker 2: moon is full and this is his hypnosis sign to
- 15:11Speaker 2: go back to Boulder, Colorado. So he's just like him,
- 15:13Speaker 2: oh oh man, time to go back to Boulder, Colorado.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So he gets on his bike, he heads back. He
- 15:19Speaker 2: bumps into Julie Lowry on accident and she sees him
- 15:22Speaker 2: and recognizes him. And Julie Lowry again is great in
- 15:25Speaker 2: the movie. She's very uh. The way the actress portrays
- 15:29Speaker 2: her is excellent. She's one of the easy to hate
- 15:31Speaker 2: characters in the book because she just kind of fucking sucks,
- 15:34Speaker 2: you know, in the way that she's described and everything
- 15:36Speaker 2: is awful.
- 15:37Speaker 1: It's really off putting.
- 15:38Speaker 2: But when she sees Tom, she just like snickers to
- 15:41Speaker 2: herself and she just goes the fee and then she
- 15:44Speaker 2: runs off like she's like giggling, and she's like, I'm
- 15:46Speaker 2: gonna tell Randall Flag about the feb and that he's
- 15:49Speaker 2: the third spy. So we'll see where that goes. But
- 15:52Speaker 2: let's check in on Old Harold. He's not doing too great.
- 15:55Speaker 2: He writes a note and he sticks it on his
- 15:56Speaker 2: jacket that says I was misled, and then he blows
- 16:00Speaker 2: head off with a gun.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Again.
- 16:01Speaker 2: No one's gonna see this video ht I'm spinning the
- 16:03Speaker 2: wheels right now. I'm just wasting my time. I need
- 16:06Speaker 2: to talk about a different movie. You think a made
- 16:08Speaker 2: for TV movie from nineteen ninety four would be a little,
- 16:12Speaker 2: you know, less controversial than this YouTube would be? Okay
- 16:16Speaker 2: with you hearing about a made for TV movie. It's
- 16:19Speaker 2: just it's kind of ridiculous. There's true crime stuff on YouTube.
- 16:22Speaker 2: There's plenty of other movie reviews. You can watch movies
- 16:25Speaker 2: on YouTube. Do people really skirt around this shit that
- 16:27Speaker 2: much where they're just like, you know, after he wrote
- 16:30Speaker 2: the note on his chest, he just went, h It's
- 16:34Speaker 2: like is that better? Is that better for people?
- 16:36Speaker 1: Like?
- 16:36Speaker 2: Do people really think that that's like, you know, respectful
- 16:40Speaker 2: enough to be like, well, you can't do that. You
- 16:42Speaker 2: can't do like hand motions and sound effects and maybe
- 16:45Speaker 2: say words that rhyme with it, but you can't say
- 16:47Speaker 2: the actual words that what it takes is that what
- 16:49Speaker 2: it takes to become a rich and famous YouTuber. Stu
- 16:52Speaker 2: also feels that this happens. So like, as they're walking,
- 16:54Speaker 2: he's like, damn, Harold just shot his fucking head off,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and You're like, he's like, I can taste the gun
- 16:59Speaker 2: oil in my mouth, just kind of like damn. And
- 17:01Speaker 2: he's like, yep, poor bastard. I hope his soul is
- 17:03Speaker 2: burning in hell right now. And then they just keep walking.
- 17:06Speaker 2: May Deine's bike run's out of gas or it breaks
- 17:08Speaker 2: or some shit, so she just drops it and starts walking.
- 17:11Speaker 2: She's going through the desert so long that she gets
- 17:13Speaker 2: all sunburn and shit, her lips are all crusty and
- 17:16Speaker 2: dry and stuff like that. And then she starts hearing
- 17:18Speaker 2: Randall Flagg's voice. She's also kind of just singing to herself, baby,
- 17:22Speaker 2: can you dig your man? And throughout this whole part
- 17:25Speaker 2: of the story, you really get the idea that she
- 17:27Speaker 2: regrets leaving Larry, and I feel like this idea is
- 17:30Speaker 2: just strengthened more and more throughout her scenes in the
- 17:34Speaker 2: fourth part, like she just regrets her decisions. But Randall
- 17:37Speaker 2: Flagg starts guiding her to this campsite area. You know,
- 17:39Speaker 2: he's got a campfire set up, he's got a mattress
- 17:42Speaker 2: on the ground. He's ready to bust. So this is
- 17:44Speaker 2: where we get the second worst special effect in the
- 17:47Speaker 2: series so far. I don't hate it or anything, but
- 17:50Speaker 2: it's just one of those effects where he like walks
- 17:52Speaker 2: out of a big ass campfire and it looks like
- 17:55Speaker 2: something from again Mortal Kombat Annihilation. I feel like it's
- 17:58Speaker 2: the best example where it's like you would see him
- 18:01Speaker 2: kind of like unnaturally walk out of like a fire
- 18:03Speaker 2: and you can just see the outline of their body
- 18:05Speaker 2: that's clearly like cut out of a different image. You know,
- 18:08Speaker 2: it just looks bad, but it's really not that big
- 18:11Speaker 2: a deal. Honestly, it still kicks ass for me. I
- 18:13Speaker 2: still love it. And right after he walks out of
- 18:15Speaker 2: the campfire, he doesn't even cool off or anything.
- 18:17Speaker 1: He just walks straight up to Nadine and just.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Starts putting some damn kisses on her face, and she's
- 18:21Speaker 2: just like kissing him back and stuff. She's honestly into it,
- 18:23Speaker 2: and she's kind of like, oh, yeah, this is great.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm finally here with my dark husband, my dark man.
- 18:28Speaker 2: You know, this is my this is my dark man husband.
- 18:31Speaker 2: He's a demon, but I still love him. And we're
- 18:33Speaker 2: about to buck and so he lays her down on
- 18:36Speaker 2: the mattress in the desert and she's into it, like
- 18:38Speaker 2: this is all consensual. At this point, she's like, oh yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 2: and you know you like busts her shirt open. Randall
- 18:43Speaker 2: Flagg's gotta whip his jugs out too, and he's just
- 18:45Speaker 2: like check these honkers, you know, and she's like those
- 18:47Speaker 2: are nice. But then, for whatever reason, I don't understand
- 18:51Speaker 2: this because this is all going well for him. He's
- 18:53Speaker 2: about to hit her with that devil dick, but then
- 18:55Speaker 2: he decides to turn his face into a fucking scary
- 18:58Speaker 2: scarecrow face and he's just like, Nadine, I'm horny, and
- 19:01Speaker 2: she's just like what, you know. She's kind of laying
- 19:03Speaker 2: there looking at him, like can you turn back to
- 19:05Speaker 2: like the the hot guy face or whatever, and he's
- 19:08Speaker 2: like no, and he turns into the fucking demon face
- 19:11Speaker 2: that we saw earlier with Dana and he's just like, oh, yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 2: I'm about to bust and she's just like no, oh,
- 19:16Speaker 2: I don't want this anymore. I don't want you to bust.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I don't want to fuck it, you know, I don't
- 19:19Speaker 2: want to fuck this guy. Like what this isn't what
- 19:22Speaker 2: I signed up for you never turned into a scary
- 19:24Speaker 2: scarecrow in my dreams and stuff like that. You're like
- 19:27Speaker 2: a romance novel guy or whatever with your big jugs.
- 19:31Speaker 2: And so she's like trying to get away from him,
- 19:33Speaker 2: trying to keep her pants on and stuff like that.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Randall Flag rapes her, just straight up rapes Nadine out
- 19:38Speaker 2: in the desert, and it's like, okay, guys, what am
- 19:40Speaker 2: I supposed to talk about here?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Again?
- 19:42Speaker 2: Am I just supposed to be like he wants to
- 19:44Speaker 2: do m M? But no, no, it's not. She does
- 19:48Speaker 2: not want it. So he busts busts inside her big time.
- 19:51Speaker 2: And then we cut to the next morning where Randall
- 19:53Speaker 2: Flagg's singing baby can you dig Your Man? While he's
- 19:56Speaker 2: driving through the desert. He's like in a big convertible
- 19:59Speaker 2: and he's all happy and shit, and Nadine's basically catatonic
- 20:01Speaker 2: at this point. She's just like in the passenger seat,
- 20:03Speaker 2: just like the fuck. When they get to Vegas, we
- 20:06Speaker 2: see that her hair is fully white. Basically, they just
- 20:08Speaker 2: kind of walk up to Randall Flag's casino apartment thing
- 20:12Speaker 2: that he lives in. We cut over to trash can
- 20:14Speaker 2: Man he's in Indian Springs working on the planes, or
- 20:17Speaker 2: at least like that's what we think, But he starts
- 20:19Speaker 2: hearing all the voices in his head of all the
- 20:21Speaker 2: boys and kids that used to bully him when he.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Was a little kid.
- 20:24Speaker 2: So it's just this kid that's like, yeah, you burnt up,
- 20:26Speaker 2: old lady fucking Winter's pension check, Randall flat or random
- 20:30Speaker 2: flag you burned up Old Lady Winter's a pension check there,
- 20:34Speaker 2: trash Can, you a piece of shit. And then this
- 20:37Speaker 2: like girl pops up and she's like, I bet you
- 20:39Speaker 2: pissed the bed, you a little pussy. And he's just like, oh,
- 20:42Speaker 2: leave me alone. And they're just like, why don't you
- 20:44Speaker 2: go back to Tera hate and get electrocuted, you fuck?
- 20:47Speaker 2: And he's just like no. So he rides off into
- 20:49Speaker 2: the desert on a four wheeler. One of the pilots
- 20:51Speaker 2: shows up and he's like checking it. He's like, trash
- 20:54Speaker 2: can man, where are you, bud? And then he sees
- 20:56Speaker 2: that there's a fucking bomb on the plane. He's just
- 20:58Speaker 2: like and it fucking blows up and he gets dead.
- 21:01Speaker 2: He's dead. Now, this guy dies by a bomb, and
- 21:03Speaker 2: we don't know where A trash is going. At this point,
- 21:05Speaker 2: he's on a whole other side quest. I guess Lloyd
- 21:09Speaker 2: and Julie Lowry they're trying to tell Flag about Tom.
- 21:12Speaker 2: You know, She's like, hey, tell Flag about that. I
- 21:14Speaker 2: saw the third spy. I know who it is. But
- 21:17Speaker 2: when Lloyd approaches him about it, Flag's just like, hold
- 21:19Speaker 2: on now, dude, I'm on my this is part of
- 21:22Speaker 2: my honeymoon. Get out of my fucking face. I'm about
- 21:25Speaker 2: to go busting my wife some more. And boys just
- 21:27Speaker 2: kind of like, okay, man, talk to you later or whatever.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And you know, he's like, sorry, Julia, I tried, and
- 21:32Speaker 2: she's like, ah, man, uh shucks. I wanted him to
- 21:35Speaker 2: know that I did something good.
- 21:36Speaker 1: You know.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Flag's upstairs with Nadine. He's happy as hell. He's still
- 21:40Speaker 2: singing baby, can you dig your man? For whatever reason.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And then Lloyd comes up because he's like come up
- 21:45Speaker 2: around like one o'clock or something, you know, so he does,
- 21:47Speaker 2: and he introduces Lloyd to Nadine officially. At this point,
- 21:51Speaker 2: she's basically being puppeted by Randall Flagg. Like he's just
- 21:54Speaker 2: standing behind her, like holding her arms, like here, Lloyd's
- 21:57Speaker 2: shake her hand and you can tell Lloyd's just like
- 22:00Speaker 2: comfortable as hell. He's like, yeah, nice to meet you
- 22:02Speaker 2: or whatever. Anyway, what's up Randall Flag and stuff? And
- 22:06Speaker 2: Flag starts telling Lloyd. He's like, oh yeah, by the way,
- 22:08Speaker 2: Nadine's pregnant with little Randy Junior in her belly. Nadine
- 22:12Speaker 2: sits down with Lloyd starts telling Flag about like the
- 22:14Speaker 2: shit that Julie Lowry was telling him with Tom calling,
- 22:17Speaker 2: you know, and he gets fucking pissed. He goes full
- 22:20Speaker 2: on devil Daddy mode where he turns into the devil
- 22:22Speaker 2: Daddy makeup and he's like holding these drinks and they
- 22:25Speaker 2: start boiling and he just fucking launches the drinks out.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Lloyd.
- 22:28Speaker 2: He's like, you, motherfucker, why didn't you tell me this shit?
- 22:30Speaker 2: And he's running around the room like fucking mosh pit
- 22:33Speaker 2: in the room. He flips over the chairs and the
- 22:36Speaker 2: couches and stuff, and he's like karate chopping through lamps.
- 22:38Speaker 2: He like karate chops through a glass window and stuff,
- 22:41Speaker 2: and he's just like this is awful. And then he
- 22:43Speaker 2: comes back in the room and he's like back to
- 22:45Speaker 2: his uh, his normal face, you know, his human face,
- 22:49Speaker 2: and he's just kind of like, anyway, how is your drink, Lloyd?
- 22:52Speaker 2: And Lloyd's like, I don't know, you threw it against
- 22:54Speaker 2: the wall. And Flag's like, damn, you're hilarious. Anyway, Yeah,
- 22:57Speaker 2: let's go find this fucking Tom calling guy. How about
- 22:59Speaker 2: you into one hundred people out to go get him.
- 23:02Speaker 2: And Lloyd's just kind of like, yeah, we can do that.
- 23:05Speaker 1: You know.
- 23:05Speaker 2: That sounds like a good idea, I guess, And he's like,
- 23:08Speaker 2: what do you want to do about trash? He's like,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I'll just shoot him in the head when you see him.
- 23:12Speaker 2: And he's just kind of like cool. And Lloyd kind
- 23:15Speaker 2: of pulls Randall Flagg aside and he's just like, hey man, everything.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Going all right in here.
- 23:19Speaker 2: You're doing all right, but it seems like things are
- 23:21Speaker 2: getting a little out of hand. He's like, Yeah, everything's
- 23:25Speaker 2: going great. What are you talking about. I just got
- 23:27Speaker 2: married to my wife, Nadine. Everything's gonna be fine. And
- 23:30Speaker 2: so he kind of like shooes Lloyd out of the room,
- 23:32Speaker 2: you know, He's like, see you later. Take care of
- 23:34Speaker 2: these motherfuckers that I told you to take care of.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Well that's going on. We see Nadine is starting to
- 23:38Speaker 2: creep over to the window like on this balcony, and
- 23:40Speaker 2: the right as Lloyd leaves, she just turns around and
- 23:43Speaker 2: just like, hey, you're Randall Flag. You're a pussy. I
- 23:45Speaker 2: hate you, or he is gonna come here and kick
- 23:48Speaker 2: your ass. I wish I would have married his ass instead.
- 23:50Speaker 2: He doesn't suck and you do suck and stuff like that,
- 23:53Speaker 2: and so Randall Flig's just kind of like, what bitch,
- 23:55Speaker 2: what'd you say to me? And he turns into a
- 23:57Speaker 2: demon mode again. He's just like, oh, yeah, you're gonna
- 24:00Speaker 2: have my fucking devil baby and stuff like that, and
- 24:03Speaker 2: you're gonna you're you're gonna love it, and she's just
- 24:06Speaker 2: like you think so, and she just jumps out the
- 24:08Speaker 2: balcony and fucking kills herself and it's like, God, damn it,
- 24:11Speaker 2: not again. How many is that in this movie? Might
- 24:14Speaker 2: as well just make this a Patreon exclusive episode. At
- 24:16Speaker 2: this point, no one's gonna hear this shit.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I just kidding. Uh.
- 24:20Speaker 2: So she dies, Flag tries to catch her, but he can't.
- 24:23Speaker 2: He didn't see that shit coming either, and he's just
- 24:25Speaker 2: kind of like son of a bitch, but he keeps
- 24:27Speaker 2: telling himself. He's like, I don't worry it's gonna be okay,
- 24:29Speaker 2: everything's gonna work out. Stay on track, you know, stay focused.
- 24:33Speaker 2: We cut over to trash Can. He is writing this
- 24:35Speaker 2: four wheeler into a damn nuclear testing facility. So he's
- 24:38Speaker 2: got like a sonar radar in his brain that just
- 24:40Speaker 2: like leads him to where weapons are and he's just like, hell, yeah,
- 24:44Speaker 2: this is where the nukes are, this is where the
- 24:46Speaker 2: A bombs are at. So he's just inside a bunker
- 24:48Speaker 2: full of missiles. After that, we get this great opening
- 24:51Speaker 2: scene where this lady is just has a water hose
- 24:54Speaker 2: and she's just hosing off the sidewalk where Nadine hit
- 24:57Speaker 2: and it's just like nice, it's just a bunch of
- 24:59Speaker 2: blood everywhere. This guy Whitney, he's not. So this guy
- 25:03Speaker 2: Whitney comes up to Lloyd and just starts telling him like, hey, yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 2: some of the Vegas folks and myself are going to
- 25:09Speaker 2: split to South America because shit's getting out of hand
- 25:12Speaker 2: here in Vegas. But Lloyd's like, sorry, Bud, I can't go.
- 25:16Speaker 2: He's like, I'm too loyal to Randall Flag. You know.
- 25:18Speaker 2: He busted me out of jail, and shit saved my life.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I was gonna die in jail and I was gonna
- 25:23Speaker 2: have to eat my cell mate and stuff like that.
- 25:25Speaker 2: So I guess I'm just gonna write it out here.
- 25:27Speaker 2: See what happens, you know, what's the worst that could happen.
- 25:30Speaker 2: And this guy Whitney, he only pops up in the
- 25:32Speaker 2: movie about twice, but he's kind of a bigger character
- 25:35Speaker 2: than that in the book anyway. He's like a little
- 25:37Speaker 2: bit more of an important henchman in Vegas than he
- 25:41Speaker 2: gets in the movie. Over with Tom, he's going through
- 25:43Speaker 2: the desert, he almost gets spotted by some of Randall
- 25:46Speaker 2: Flagg's guys, some of his men that are out to
- 25:48Speaker 2: see him, And really the only reason he doesn't is
- 25:51Speaker 2: because one of the guys is like, like, this guy's like,
- 25:53Speaker 2: oh I heard something, and this other guy's like, it's
- 25:56Speaker 2: probably just the fucking wind, you know. He's like, just
- 25:58Speaker 2: sit down and let's drink some beers and get drunk.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And they're like, yeah, that's a good idea, and he's like,
- 26:03Speaker 2: who gives a shit about Randall flag anyway, that that
- 26:05Speaker 2: kind of sucks, and they're like, you know what, you're right, bucket,
- 26:08Speaker 2: let's just hang out in the desert. We're back with
- 26:10Speaker 2: the four from Boulder, Colorado. Stu, Larry, Ralph, and Klann.
- 26:13Speaker 2: They come into this like big crater in the road.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It's like a big embankment that they have to make
- 26:19Speaker 2: their way through. They're worried about Glenn getting down because
- 26:21Speaker 2: he's like eighty years old, but he butt scoots down
- 26:24Speaker 2: that fucking thing no problem. And he's just kind of
- 26:26Speaker 2: like celebrating at the end. He's like, oh, yeah, I
- 26:28Speaker 2: fucking did it. Guys, you can do it too. And
- 26:30Speaker 2: so they all get down there. They're hooting and hollering,
- 26:32Speaker 2: really having a pretty good time right now. But then
- 26:34Speaker 2: once they get down there, you know, they got to
- 26:36Speaker 2: climb up the other side, which is just as tall
- 26:38Speaker 2: and just as steep.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Pretty much.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Stu's like to go first, doesn't look like that big
- 26:43Speaker 2: a deal. He gets up to the top almost no struggle.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Basically.
- 26:46Speaker 2: The only thing that happens is like he grabs onto
- 26:48Speaker 2: like a loose root or something, but he gets his
- 26:51Speaker 2: footing pretty quick. When he gets to the top though,
- 26:53Speaker 2: he starts celebrating. He's like, hey, hey, I did it.
- 26:57Speaker 2: And then as soon as that happens, the ground falls
- 26:59Speaker 2: out out from underneath them. He goes flying down the
- 27:02Speaker 2: Hill breaks his damn leg and they're all just like,
- 27:04Speaker 2: oh shit, Stu. And so they prop him up to
- 27:07Speaker 2: a car up to this like broken down car next
- 27:10Speaker 2: to it, and they put a splint on his leg.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Glenn goes and finds some Coca colas for him to
- 27:14Speaker 2: drink and some pain medicine, and Larry's like, all right, well,
- 27:17Speaker 2: I guess we'll just wait around with Stu until he
- 27:19Speaker 2: gets healed up. You know, maybe we'll stretch him off
- 27:21Speaker 2: to the next town and let him rest up for
- 27:24Speaker 2: a little while. And Stu's like, no way, Larry, no way,
- 27:27Speaker 2: we're doing that shit. Actually, you guys need to keep
- 27:29Speaker 2: on without me. And Larry's like about to lose his
- 27:31Speaker 2: damn mind over this. He's like, no way, Stu. You're
- 27:34Speaker 2: the most badass guy we know. How the hell are
- 27:36Speaker 2: we gonna go fight Randall Flag without you? But Glenn
- 27:38Speaker 2: and Ralph are like, no, Stu's right, Larry, It's part
- 27:41Speaker 2: of God's plan. We gotta leave him. Mother Abigail said
- 27:44Speaker 2: one of us would fall. We just never expected it
- 27:46Speaker 2: to be Stu Redmand because he's such a big badass.
- 27:49Speaker 2: And so they're kind of like, all right, they leave
- 27:51Speaker 2: Stu with Kojak and a few supplies like the pain meds,
- 27:54Speaker 2: the sleeping bag and stuff like that, and basically Stu
- 27:57Speaker 2: kind of tells him like it's part of God's plan.
- 27:59Speaker 2: If he wants me to survive, I'll survive, and he does.
- 28:02Speaker 2: We see that, like Stu's cooking up rabbits, Kojaks catching
- 28:05Speaker 2: rabbits for him and he'll like cook him up over
- 28:07Speaker 2: a little fire. But we also do see that Stu's
- 28:10Speaker 2: starting to get pretty sick. He's coughing, he's sounding pretty rough,
- 28:14Speaker 2: and he's kind of like laughs and he's like, I
- 28:16Speaker 2: guess the flu's gonna kill me after all. It's just
- 28:19Speaker 2: kind of like, fuck that sucks. After all this that's
- 28:22Speaker 2: how you're gonna go, Stu, Glenn, Larry, and Ralph they
- 28:25Speaker 2: make it to the city limits of Vegas pretty quick.
- 28:27Speaker 2: They're immediately picked up by flagsmen like Ratman and the
- 28:30Speaker 2: chief of police. This guy they arrest him and they're
- 28:33Speaker 2: kind of justifying it. They're basically like, I've been the
- 28:36Speaker 2: chief of police for thirty years. You guys are under arrest,
- 28:39Speaker 2: and they ask for their social security numbers and Larry
- 28:42Speaker 2: just starts cracking up about this shit.
- 28:44Speaker 1: They're just like, are you joking me?
- 28:45Speaker 2: As a fucking end of the world dumbass, we don't
- 28:47Speaker 2: have social Security numbers anymore. And they like punch out
- 28:51Speaker 2: Glenn for because he's the oldest probably, and then they
- 28:54Speaker 2: take him to jail. So these three that are in
- 28:56Speaker 2: jail flows flow. These three are in jail, Flag shows
- 28:59Speaker 2: up to talk Glenn, and Glenn right away just kind
- 29:02Speaker 2: of like gets in his face and starts smiling at him.
- 29:04Speaker 2: He's like, it's pretty awesome. This whole like sit back
- 29:07Speaker 2: and forth between Flag and Glenn is uh, it's great.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It's one of the best in the movie, I think.
- 29:12Speaker 2: And Flag's doing everything he can to intimidate Glenn. He
- 29:15Speaker 2: starts like making his arthritis act up and stuff like that,
- 29:18Speaker 2: but Glenn's just like toughing it out, and he just
- 29:20Speaker 2: like holds his hands up to him and just like
- 29:22Speaker 2: you hear his hands like crunching as he like squeezes
- 29:24Speaker 2: him shit, and he's just like smiling and Flag's face
- 29:27Speaker 2: and he's just like it's not so.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Bad, is it.
- 29:30Speaker 2: And and Flag's just kind of like, hey, if you
- 29:33Speaker 2: just want the pain to go away, just let me
- 29:35Speaker 2: know and I can make it happen. Glenn just starts
- 29:37Speaker 2: cracking up, and he's like, holy shit, bitch, I thought
- 29:40Speaker 2: you were gonna actually be scary, but you just like
- 29:42Speaker 2: kind of a damn little pussy and a jean jacket
- 29:45Speaker 2: fucking jump bon jovie looking ass pussy, you know what
- 29:47Speaker 2: I mean. And Flag's just like all right, all right, Welloyd,
- 29:50Speaker 2: shoot this motherfucker and he goes sits down in the
- 29:53Speaker 2: corner and Lloyd's like, are you kidding? He's an old man.
- 29:55Speaker 2: And Lloyd seems like really hesitant about this, like he's
- 29:58Speaker 2: having a lot of trouble siding with Flag.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Still.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I think he's starting to realize, like this guy's harmless.
- 30:03Speaker 2: He's locked up in jail, and you want me to
- 30:05Speaker 2: kill him just because he insulted you and because he's
- 30:08Speaker 2: not like scared of you or whatever. So then like
- 30:10Speaker 2: Glenn kind of starts like talking shit to Lloyd too.
- 30:12Speaker 2: He's like, hey, man, I don't blame you. He's like,
- 30:15Speaker 2: you know, this guy's not telling you the truth or whatever,
- 30:19Speaker 2: and Lloyd just starts blasting Larry and Ralph hear the shots,
- 30:22Speaker 2: and they kind of like take each other's hands through
- 30:24Speaker 2: the bar cells and they're just like saying a little prayer,
- 30:26Speaker 2: you know, and then we get our well and then
- 30:29Speaker 2: we get another Mother Abigail dream sequence. She's telling Stu like, Stu,
- 30:33Speaker 2: wake up, you need to go back to Boulder and
- 30:35Speaker 2: bring the news back about what's happening. And then there's
- 30:38Speaker 2: like a little title at the bottom of the screen
- 30:40Speaker 2: that says Pale Horse, Pale Rider. Stu starts trying to
- 30:43Speaker 2: crawl his way back up the embankment. He's like about
- 30:46Speaker 2: to the top, you know, his broken leg is obviously
- 30:48Speaker 2: a big problem. Kojak's trying to encourage him, but as
- 30:51Speaker 2: he's getting to the top, he keeps kind of slipping,
- 30:53Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, we hear a voice
- 30:55Speaker 2: and it's Tom Cole and he's just like, hey, Stu,
- 30:57Speaker 2: take my hand.
- 30:58Speaker 1: So Stu does.
- 30:59Speaker 2: He pulls him up there, and he's just kind of like, yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I was actually quite a ways past this, but Nick's
- 31:04Speaker 2: been talking to me in my dreams and he told
- 31:06Speaker 2: me to come back this way, and so Stu's kind
- 31:08Speaker 2: of like, hell, yeah, thanks a lot, Tom. I think
- 31:11Speaker 2: just from like Gary Sonie's expression, you get the idea
- 31:15Speaker 2: that he's not sure if he's like hallucinating Tom Collin
- 31:18Speaker 2: at first, he's just kind of like this is real.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Then we cut over to Lost Bungus again. They're bringing
- 31:23Speaker 2: Ralph and Larry to the center of town and an
- 31:25Speaker 2: armored car at gunpoint. People are starting to like riot
- 31:29Speaker 2: for some reason. It's like the police have to like
- 31:32Speaker 2: beat this guy up who's like trying to get out
- 31:34Speaker 2: Larry and Ralph as they're like pulling him out of
- 31:36Speaker 2: the van. It's kind of a weird scene going on.
- 31:39Speaker 2: It feels very like that's kind of the feeling you
- 31:41Speaker 2: get with Las Vegas throughout the entire movie, which is
- 31:44Speaker 2: maybe the only thing that I one of the things
- 31:47Speaker 2: that I think I would have liked to see done
- 31:49Speaker 2: a little differently. I think if they would have depicted
- 31:52Speaker 2: it more as it is in the book, that would
- 31:54Speaker 2: have been cool with just the how it feels more
- 31:56Speaker 2: like a normal civilization, just with Randall Flagg the head
- 32:00Speaker 2: of it. So you have all these like kind of
- 32:02Speaker 2: subtle things that are going on, like all the killing
- 32:05Speaker 2: and stuff like that, and all the control and ptalitarianism
- 32:07Speaker 2: and stuff like that that's going on. You could see
- 32:10Speaker 2: that through this like normal lifestyle, you would still like
- 32:15Speaker 2: get the feeling that like this isn't right, like this
- 32:17Speaker 2: is obviously the bad side or whatever, but they really
- 32:20Speaker 2: go out of their way to to like camer at
- 32:22Speaker 2: home that like, oh yeah, these guys are evil the
- 32:24Speaker 2: whole Las Vegas and stuff like that. As they're getting
- 32:27Speaker 2: Larry and Ralph out of the van, for some reason,
- 32:29Speaker 2: they let Larry bring his guitar. Ratman grabs the guitar
- 32:33Speaker 2: and just goes this goes dead and fucking smashes it
- 32:36Speaker 2: on the side of the truck or whatever.
- 32:38Speaker 1: He's just like, yeah, there you go, Larry, little bitch.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And Larry's kind of like, you guys are about to
- 32:42Speaker 2: fucking pull me apart, you know, fuck my guitar, idiot.
- 32:45Speaker 2: But anyway, they drag Larry and Ralph up to these
- 32:48Speaker 2: like metal cross displays that are going to dismember them slowly.
- 32:52Speaker 2: It's like medieval torture where they just have like a
- 32:54Speaker 2: crank and it's slowly like pulling their arms and legs apart.
- 32:57Speaker 2: It's just like God damn, but it's said up like
- 33:00Speaker 2: a damn outdoor concert event. There's like these giant like
- 33:03Speaker 2: lights above them, and there's a third one in the
- 33:06Speaker 2: middle like in between them and Randall Flagg just like
- 33:08Speaker 2: walks out of it like it's a like it's a
- 33:10Speaker 2: damn ghost concert or something. There's like fog machines everywhere,
- 33:14Speaker 2: and he just gets on the mic and he's just like,
- 33:16Speaker 2: what's up Las Vegas and Randall. He pulls out like
- 33:19Speaker 2: a paper and starts reading it. He's like, these two
- 33:21Speaker 2: are insurrectionists and are responsible for the deaths of Carl Huff.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Or something like that.
- 33:26Speaker 2: And then he's just like he announces that they're going
- 33:28Speaker 2: to be executed by dismemberment, and everyone's just kind of
- 33:32Speaker 2: like cheering the whole time.
- 33:33Speaker 1: They're like, yeah, fuck, yeah, this rules.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Ralph and Larry are kind of like talking shit like
- 33:38Speaker 2: over him while this is going on, but everyone's just like,
- 33:40Speaker 2: boo boo, we don't want to hear you, motherfuckers. We
- 33:43Speaker 2: just want to see you get pulled into pieces. This
- 33:45Speaker 2: is awesome. And then so that guy Whitney, he pipes
- 33:48Speaker 2: up and he's just like, hey, everybody, we got to
- 33:51Speaker 2: stop this shit. This isn't how Americans are supposed to
- 33:54Speaker 2: act and stuff. He's trying to talk some sense into
- 33:56Speaker 2: the crowd. He's like, do you really do you really
- 33:58Speaker 2: want to live with seeing these guys get pulled apart
- 34:00Speaker 2: because Raydam. Flag's like everybody has to watch except for
- 34:04Speaker 2: if you have kids. If you have kids, you're excused,
- 34:06Speaker 2: But other than that, it's your duty to watch. These
- 34:08Speaker 2: guys get dismembered. And it's kind of like, Eh, I
- 34:10Speaker 2: don't know. I think I'm gonna move. I think I'm
- 34:12Speaker 2: gonna live somewhere else. Actually, you know, if that's an
- 34:14Speaker 2: option anyway, I don't want to get pulled apart or
- 34:16Speaker 2: nailed to a cross or anything. But yeah, I'm surprised
- 34:19Speaker 2: this Whitney guy's still here. He was talking about going
- 34:21Speaker 2: to South America. But because he speaks up and says
- 34:24Speaker 2: all that shit, Flag just blasts him with an electricity ball.
- 34:28Speaker 2: He's just like, Whitney, how about this pooh? And just
- 34:30Speaker 2: like electric ball shoots out of him and makes his
- 34:32Speaker 2: like mouth melt and he's just like, shut the fuck up.
- 34:35Speaker 2: And then we see trash Trash is just driving up
- 34:38Speaker 2: with an atomic bomb on the back of his four wheeler.
- 34:41Speaker 2: This is like, this is pretty awesome, honestly, and Flag's
- 34:44Speaker 2: face is completely in disbelief. He like sees trash can
- 34:47Speaker 2: pulling up and he's just like, are you fucking joking
- 34:50Speaker 2: me right now, Like what else could go wrong? Honestly,
- 34:53Speaker 2: it's like one of those moments where he's like, could
- 34:55Speaker 2: this day get any worse? Seriously, guys, Trash has severe
- 34:59Speaker 2: radiation poisoning. He looks like the melted guy from RoboCop.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Like his skin is just kind of like paper mache
- 35:05Speaker 2: like dripping away from his face and shit, and he's
- 35:07Speaker 2: just kind of like, I brought it back for you,
- 35:09Speaker 2: random flag and his when he pulls his goggles on,
- 35:13Speaker 2: you know, he pulls the goggles off, and it's just
- 35:15Speaker 2: like melty fucking goop is just like sticking under the
- 35:18Speaker 2: goggles off his face, and he's just like.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I'm hurting pretty bad, guys. Trash tells Lloyd.
- 35:23Speaker 2: He's like, hey, I brought an a bomb with me
- 35:26Speaker 2: and just kind of get that shit out of here,
- 35:28Speaker 2: motherfucker are you doing. Julie Lowry tries to run away.
- 35:31Speaker 2: She's like, oh shit, that's a fucking bomb, yo. She
- 35:34Speaker 2: goes sprinting and she trips over Whitney and it's like
- 35:37Speaker 2: she gets electrocuted because Whitney's still getting electricute his hilarious.
- 35:42Speaker 1: She just pulls down.
- 35:42Speaker 2: She's like, ah, speaking of electrocution. The electric ball that is,
- 35:48Speaker 2: you know, suking the shit out of their body right now,
- 35:50Speaker 2: just pops up into the air and starts like floating
- 35:53Speaker 2: towards the A bomb and then it turns into a
- 35:55Speaker 2: giant hand and it goes into the sky and just
- 35:58Speaker 2: starts floating over the bar, and it's the hand of God.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Like Larry and Ralph are both just like, holy shit,
- 36:05Speaker 2: it's the hand of God. The hand of God grabs
- 36:08Speaker 2: the A bomb and just nukes the hell out of Vegas.
- 36:10Speaker 1: It's just like.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Check this out, motherfucker's because like mission complete. Like I
- 36:16Speaker 2: you know, it makes sense, it really does, but you're
- 36:18Speaker 2: kind of like, kind of they had done that without
- 36:20Speaker 2: Larry and Ralph being there, but at the same time,
- 36:23Speaker 2: they couldn't. And the reason why they couldn't is because
- 36:25Speaker 2: this was all basically to like distract and discombobulate Randall
- 36:29Speaker 2: Flagg's plan and just kind of like totally fuck up
- 36:33Speaker 2: his ability to see what's going on, because if you
- 36:35Speaker 2: would have seen trash can Man coming, or or like
- 36:38Speaker 2: if the guards would have been there, you know, because
- 36:40Speaker 2: they're all at this dismemberment meeting, there's nobody watching the
- 36:44Speaker 2: border of Vegas right now, So he just strolls right
- 36:47Speaker 2: in on his damn four wheeler. That is kind of
- 36:49Speaker 2: the other thing that I didn't mention, and I don't
- 36:51Speaker 2: think I can't remember, but I don't think the movie
- 36:54Speaker 2: really like addresses this too much. Randall Flagg, similarly to
- 36:58Speaker 2: Tom Colin, Randall Flagg can't see what the trash can
- 37:01Speaker 2: man is up to. Like he's aware of him, you know,
- 37:04Speaker 2: and he feels like a connection to him, but at
- 37:06Speaker 2: the same time, he doesn't know what his next move
- 37:10Speaker 2: is going to be. And his next move is apparently
- 37:12Speaker 2: to bring this nuke to Vegas, and God just fucking
- 37:15Speaker 2: nukes everybody. And he's like, signar a sucker, last minute
- 37:18Speaker 2: flag turns into a crow and tries to fly off.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I don't know if this works or not. I'm not
- 37:22Speaker 2: gonna talk about the book because it's a little different,
- 37:25Speaker 2: if you know what I'm saying. Stu and Tom they
- 37:27Speaker 2: see the explosion in the distance, and Stu is just
- 37:30Speaker 2: kind of like, well that does it ashes to ashes,
- 37:32Speaker 2: dust to dust. Randall Flagg will no longer bust.
- 37:36Speaker 1: It's not actually in the movie.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Stu and Tom they get a car going and they
- 37:40Speaker 2: make it to Green River, Utah. They find a decent
- 37:42Speaker 2: place to stay. Tom is basically force feeding a PB
- 37:46Speaker 2: and J on Stu. He's like got him in like
- 37:48Speaker 2: a crossbody holding. He's got the PB and JOB to
- 37:51Speaker 2: his mother. He's just like, Stu, you gotta eat the
- 37:53Speaker 2: PB and JAY. My mom told me you gotta eat it.
- 37:56Speaker 2: She always told me eat the PB and JAY. And
- 37:59Speaker 2: they're just like, I'm fucking sick, My fucking legs infected
- 38:02Speaker 2: and I'm dying from fucking pneumonia or something or the flu.
- 38:05Speaker 2: And then Tom's just like really defeated. He's like so
- 38:07Speaker 2: upset because Stu's not eating. Stu's sick as hell. He
- 38:10Speaker 2: doesn't look like he's gonna make it that night, though.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Nick appears to Tom in a dream and leads him
- 38:15Speaker 2: to where he can find antibiotics and other medicine to
- 38:18Speaker 2: help Stu recover, and this works. He brings it back
- 38:21Speaker 2: and he knows exactly like the dosage to give Stu
- 38:24Speaker 2: and Stu gets better, and he's kind of like, how
- 38:26Speaker 2: the fuck do you know to do that shit?
- 38:27Speaker 1: You know?
- 38:28Speaker 2: Nick told me, I told you, Nick told tells me
- 38:30Speaker 2: stuff in my dreams, and Stud's like yeah, yeah, I
- 38:32Speaker 2: guess you know, that makes sense. It's kind of how
- 38:34Speaker 2: the whole movie's been going, honestly, everyone's been having fucking
- 38:37Speaker 2: crazy dreams. And there's this moment after this where Tom
- 38:40Speaker 2: is just kind of like outside crying to himself, and
- 38:42Speaker 2: Stu's feeling a lot better. He goes out and he
- 38:44Speaker 2: comforts him, and he's just kind of like, what's going on.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Tom.
- 38:47Speaker 2: He's like, I can't remember what Nick looks like, and
- 38:49Speaker 2: it's just like, God, damn. Tom's the best Tom's the
- 38:52Speaker 2: best guy, He's the best friend. And he's just like, yeah,
- 38:55Speaker 2: Nick was my best friend and I don't even know
- 38:57Speaker 2: what he looks like anymore. Stu's like, let's get the
- 38:59Speaker 2: fun out of here, brother, let's go home. So they
- 39:02Speaker 2: get a truck, they hook up a snowmobile to the
- 39:04Speaker 2: back of it, and they get as far as they
- 39:06Speaker 2: can in the truck until the snow gets too bad,
- 39:08Speaker 2: and then they just snowmobile the rest of the way. Also,
- 39:10Speaker 2: Kojak is still with them, by the way. You don't
- 39:12Speaker 2: see a whole lot of Kojak from this point on.
- 39:14Speaker 2: He's just kind of hanging out, you know. So they
- 39:16Speaker 2: pull up to Boulder, Colorado, Teddy Wiseac, this other dude.
- 39:19Speaker 2: They're just kind of on lookout with rifles at the
- 39:22Speaker 2: free zone and they're just like, hey, who goes there,
- 39:24Speaker 2: you know, And they're like pointing rifles at Stewing Tom
- 39:26Speaker 2: because it's really snowy, and they're just.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Like, holy shit, it's Stewing Tom. Now, I can't believe
- 39:32Speaker 1: you guys are back.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Stu. That's really great. You know, we get some top
- 39:35Speaker 2: notch Stephen King acting again. Pretty awesome. Teddy breaks the
- 39:39Speaker 2: news to stew that a baby was born early and
- 39:42Speaker 2: it has the flu. It's really upsetting, like this whole
- 39:45Speaker 2: sequence here, and like you kind of especially feel for
- 39:48Speaker 2: Stu because like, you've been through so much shit at
- 39:51Speaker 2: this point. He finally makes it back and the first
- 39:53Speaker 2: thing he hears is like, sorry, Stu, I don't want
- 39:56Speaker 2: to be the one that breaks this to you, but
- 39:58Speaker 2: fran had the baby early and it's got the flu,
- 40:00Speaker 2: and you know, Stu's thinking like, holy fuck, you know what.
- 40:05Speaker 2: So he goes to see Franny, wakes her up in
- 40:06Speaker 2: the hospital and she's like is this a dream. He's like, nah, baby,
- 40:10Speaker 2: I'm back.
- 40:10Speaker 1: You know. I made it.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Tom helped me out. Kojak helped me out. We made
- 40:13Speaker 2: it back. Larry and the others not so much so.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Stu and Franny they have a touching moment in the hospital.
- 40:19Speaker 2: You know, they're talking about the baby and stuff like that,
- 40:21Speaker 2: and the doc comes in. Franny's just like instantly like
- 40:25Speaker 2: the baby's dead, isn't she And the dog's like no,
- 40:27Speaker 2: actually quite the opposite. The flu's passed, and they're like,
- 40:31Speaker 2: holy shit, are you joking me? You know, they're so happy.
- 40:33Speaker 2: They go to see the baby in the nursery and
- 40:35Speaker 2: you just get this little pink baby sitting there, very
- 40:39Speaker 2: very sweet, very cute, very touching moment. Lucy and Joe
- 40:43Speaker 2: they show up there, and you know, Stu's like sorry
- 40:47Speaker 2: about Larry. You know, I can't believe Larry's dead. And
- 40:51Speaker 2: we also find out that Lucy is pregnant with Larry's baby.
- 40:53Speaker 2: So it's just kind of like motherfucker, dude. This one's
- 40:56Speaker 2: really just like hitting you at the end where it's
- 40:58Speaker 2: like Jesus. While they're looking at the baby, a mother
- 41:01Speaker 2: Abigail image appears above the baby, and it's like, what
- 41:04Speaker 2: a beautiful little baby, you know, and then we get
- 41:06Speaker 2: a montage of all the Free Zone characters that died
- 41:09Speaker 2: with some touching music at least like the main characters.
- 41:11Speaker 2: And Stu asked Frann, He's like, do you think people
- 41:14Speaker 2: can really change? And you know, she's like, I don't know.
- 41:17Speaker 2: I can't remember what she says. I should have wrote
- 41:19Speaker 2: it down, but she's like, yeah, probably maybe they can,
- 41:21Speaker 2: maybe they can't. We get a close up on the
- 41:23Speaker 2: baby and then we get the credits.
- 41:25Speaker 1: That's it.
- 41:26Speaker 2: We made it, guys, six hours through the stan mini series.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I don't know, guys, this might be the best Stephen
- 41:31Speaker 2: King adaptation. I'm on a mission right now to watch
- 41:33Speaker 2: all of the Stephen King movies and read all the
- 41:36Speaker 2: Stephen King books and for once and for all come
- 41:39Speaker 2: to a conclusion which one is the best, because isn't
- 41:43Speaker 2: that the most important thing. I'd give the stand four
- 41:46Speaker 2: out of five. It's a four out of five movie
- 41:48Speaker 2: for me, which I know is pretty high, probably higher
- 41:50Speaker 2: than I expected, for sure. But the movie it's a
- 41:53Speaker 2: lot better than I expected. You know, it has its
- 41:56Speaker 2: cheesy moments, but you know, it is of its time
- 41:59Speaker 2: and it was made for TV, so already there are
- 42:01Speaker 2: a lot of restrictions put on this movie, and it's
- 42:04Speaker 2: got you know it's got all these things holding it back,
- 42:06Speaker 2: and it still pulls off a really great, faithful adaptation
- 42:10Speaker 2: to an incredibly dense story that almost feels like it
- 42:13Speaker 2: almost feels like one of those books where it's like,
- 42:15Speaker 2: how could you pull this off in six hours? And
- 42:18Speaker 2: I feel like this, I don't know. I haven't watched
- 42:20Speaker 2: the new version of the Stand yet. I'm sure we're
- 42:21Speaker 2: gonna get to that. I don't know how else you
- 42:25Speaker 2: could pull this off, really, unless you just made it
- 42:28Speaker 2: longer and really like detailed everything. I think one thing
- 42:31Speaker 2: that they could do is, and maybe I'll get into
- 42:33Speaker 2: this more in a different video, is that if they
- 42:36Speaker 2: did really go like almost beat by beat throughout the book,
- 42:39Speaker 2: if they kind of like focused in on more of
- 42:41Speaker 2: the subtle dramatic parts of the story, you know what
- 42:44Speaker 2: I mean, like almost like obviously, it's always going to
- 42:46Speaker 2: be like a horror apocalypse somewhat like science fiction y
- 42:51Speaker 2: story and stuff, and I think, you know, that's always
- 42:53Speaker 2: going to be like one of the main themes, it's
- 42:55Speaker 2: always going to be one of the main contributors to
- 42:58Speaker 2: the story. But at the same time, I feel like
- 43:00Speaker 2: you could really like lean into the dramatic moments with
- 43:03Speaker 2: like everyone's personal lives and stuff like that, and it
- 43:05Speaker 2: would still be really interesting and really doable. I do
- 43:09Speaker 2: think they do a good job with that here, Like,
- 43:10Speaker 2: this doesn't feel like a straight up horror movie to me.
- 43:13Speaker 2: It feels like it's like like equal parts horror drama
- 43:18Speaker 2: sci fi. I guess you'd say. I feel like with
- 43:21Speaker 2: like a lot of the devil stuff and a lot
- 43:22Speaker 2: of the magic, it gives it like somewhat of a
- 43:24Speaker 2: sci fi feel. Anyway, We're at a five. That's my rating.
- 43:28Speaker 2: That's what I would give the Stand mini series. We're
- 43:30Speaker 2: not done with The Stand yet
