Shamus: but yeah, make sure you guys give them a listen. Yeah, man. How's your weekend, bud? Out. Herbie: Good man, and I got to hang out with you for a little bit and stuff, doing some Kayakian ski ski. Shamus: Yeah, finally took that boat out, man. Yeah. I initially I thought it was gonna be a rough trip, but it it turned out to be a really nice day. So Herbie: Yeah it did. It was nice, man. Shamus: I just can't believe how low the water's been. Yeah. Like that was kind of cause I I always kind of judge it off that little lake up the street from here. Yeah. When you first come in, that it looks like absolute shit. That drives me nuts. Yeah. I finally talked my neighbor into cutting them big ass yellow things down. I was like, dude, let's get Like the neighbors gotta put some anyway, yeah. That lake is really low, but when we got in that water you could actually see the water level. Yeah. Like where we were and I was like, Hoy Herbie: Like that's like that everywhere, man. Cause even like the lake I was in, you know, it's low and no beavers. So Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: wondering where the hell the beavers went. I don't know, man. Shamus: That turtle wasn't moving now. No. He was macking. a buddy of mine texts me. Brandon, if you're listening to this, sorry I didn't text you back. It's been a long weekend. But he texted me He told us that you and that guy Tony who wrote in about Italian hoagies with Mayo or are I guess like ridiculous. He was like, I Mayo with my Italian hoogie all the time. Apparently he toast his bun and all that stuff too. So yeah, he said it's amazing. So we got a little bit of pushback on that. So Herbie: Well I th I'll take his word for it. No. You enjoyed it the way you do, but you will enjoy it as a way God intended. Shamus: Yeah, but getting back to the kayaking thing, man, it was a good time. I did flip. I ended up in the water. I know Miss Kim ended up in the water too. You were the only one at stage rock. Herbie: Yeah, I kinda survived. I was like, you know, did like my little Jedi ninja skill technique and shit, just survived, but it was it was still it was a good trip, man. Shamus: some off the wall shit too. Totally like horizontal and got up under that tree. I was like what the fake Herbie: Do a little bit Shamus: ass is getting up under that tree. Herbie: I'm like the size of a frickin' hobbit, man. That's why those goddamn Lord of the Ring movies took so goddamn long because you had the smallest dudes trying to walk to the goddamn volcano. You know, so I was able to like scary underneath the the bushes and stuff and the and the branches. Shamus: So then we finally got back upstream, loaded up the the trailer with all the kayaks and stuff, and smelled like dirty ass swamp water. Yeah. Loaded up the Jeep and took everybody home. We all got showers and then we all met up at the Red Line Inn for Dinner. Dinner. Yeah. Which was really good. I am s when Kim said that Sean was there. Yeah. Sean, if Herbie: I was like, well yeah, so Shamus: you're listening to this man, if I'd have known you were there, I'd have sat right. Herbie: I was like pretty much like scoping through the like the bar but they had like that big I guess Shamus: There was like some kind of retirement party on the right, but Herbie: Then I saw like that older lady like with her husband or whatever, just like being all romantic. So I like, avert your eyes. Shamus: But that's kinda on Sean too, because he could be like, yo. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: So and then apparently Kim said her dad was like, I I missed you guys by like ten minutes because he was there with Sean. Yeah. So Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: the food there is really good. I was shocked. Like I've never had this is only the second time I've been in there, man. Herbie: First time and I you know, it was like I was I was impressed. I was I'd definitely go back there. Shamus: I wanna check out the pot of pasta thing they got going. Herbie: Right? What do you like which size pocket you bring in, man? Like No, we got one more listener. We got a lady from the library. Shamus: so that makes it four and two fifths. apparently this place a red line in right off of seventy. Yeah. Has this deal where you bring like a pot in. It's called a pot of pasta. You bring it in. You don't have to sit down or anything. You just bring it to the Matre D or what like the hostess and you tell fill this up. And they give you a pot of pasta for like ten bucks or something. Herbie: Like they fill up the yeah, with spaghetti and they give you like two meatballs. Shamus: Yeah. I was like, you gotta be ki 'cause I thought it was a rumor at first 'cause I heard, you know, tail this up at Tabernacle when I was working there. So when we were actually in there I was in there the first time with Miss Kim and I totally forgot to ask the second time. Yeah. I was like, Yeah, is that true? And they were like, Yeah. Herbie: Like, all right, we're gonna start checking that place out. Man, it's got a nice little bar area, and then it goes into like the dining area and the old dude playing piano, which was dope. Shamus: Yeah, that guy was pretty good, man. Playing all the show tunes and stuff. Herbie: He was playing like freaking Willie Walker doing the Oompa Loompa song. He did like Charles Schultz of, you know, Charlie Brown and everything. it was great. Shamus: And then we broke off and got ice cream. Yeah. You went your own way. You went Herbie: So freaking full, man. I was just like determined to have like spaghetti, meatball, and sausage and freaking, what is it, the calamari? And I was just like, dude, I was ready for a freaking nap after that, dude. I was just, even the leftovers, I'd even take, dude. I was like, I can't even take this. Shamus: Yeah, we went to the Evergreens after that, man. I gotta stop. No, no. I'm spending way too much plop money in that place. That's Herbie: You really think about that? Shamus: like the fifth time in like eight days. Like it's crazy, man. But it's it is, but it ain't good for the waistline. Herbie: Good. well who you tell man, like every Christmas time I'm like hunting down those like the little Debbie Christmas tree cakes. Shamus: Like I I rolled up and the girls behind the counter was like, This fucking Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: What you want, fat ass? Herbie: But they got something new every day, dude. So it's not like you know what I mean? Shamus: I just don't wanna say because, you know, the it's just like holiday ice cream we mentioned on the supper jobs thing. Like there's a lot of cute high school girls back there. I just don't want them to think like this fucking guy's up here stalking us or whatever. I'm like, bitch, I'm just here for the cra Herbie: I was gonna say because pretty much I mean as soon as you go up there you just like grab an ice cream and just Shamus: Be honest with you, I know they're cute, but I couldn't pick one of them out in public if they walk by me tomorrow. I'm just here for the ice cream, girl. Give it to me. Herbie: But you know what special Evergreen had on Wednesday though, baby. Shamus: Yeah. If a salted caramel pretzel Sunday walked by me in Bedford, I'd pick that some bitch Herbie: God damn right. That place is cool, man. Shamus: And then Sunday I went to I you know, cleaned everything up. I hose like the next morning. Got up early, I hosed the the boat down and all the stuff, cleaned all the malt off the paddles and da da da and then I accidentally ripped the whole back window out of my soft top of my jeep. So gotta get that fixed. And then so I went on marketplace, Facebook Marketplace and this guy had one. And that's what the premise of this episode's gonna be about, 'cause the people on Facebook Marketplace, man, are just Herbie: I I'm sure you have some harsh year. I've like I don't really do marketplace too much, but the one the one that you helped me with or actually helped me pick up the boat, the guy Victor was turned out really well. But I've had friends that just you know, it's i it's it's a tall Shamus: I'll tell you what, man. Like one out of every three or four is actually decent, but the other three, like we sit here right now, there's a curio cabinet in my driveway. Yeah. I'm giving it away for free. It's from the eighties. I don't need it anymore. It was my parents. It was it was like one of them tall, skinny ones. Yeah. Put it up on Facebook Marketplace. Free. Lady instantly hits me. I can be there at four. Hold it for me. Sure. Four o'clock, I'm sitting in the driveway. Four fifteen. She hits me. I gotta go to a pulmonary appointment at my doctor's Marlton at 4.45. I can pick it up after that. I said, okay, no problem. You get here at five. Tell you, we're waiting on this lady to pick this thing up. I don't want to start the podcast yet. Fifteen minutes after you get here, I'm like, look, I got things to do. I'm gonna leave this thing at the top of the driveway. If you want it, just come get it. She writes me back, yeah, they found something in my at my appointment center sending me for a chest rex ray at South Jersey radiology. Wow. And then, you know, after that I could be by. And I was like, Well, Herbie: Heh ha! Shamus: I said, if you have health health issues or heart problems and stuff like that, it's only a curious. I'll hold it for you. I'll put it in garage. You don't have to come to the No, no, no, I'm gonna get it. Like I've got my husband with me. He's gonna do all the heavy lift. I mean, this lady's probably on the verge of like cardiac arrest She's still Herbie: She's like, I want that curial. She's like, and it's free. See that's what it is, dude. If you if you put anything out for free, people will take it. It it doesn't matter, dude. Shamus: No d I put a bunch of like old cause I changed all my totes to like the black ones, the big black ones with the yellow lids, so everything's uniform because I'm that dude. Yeah. And my mom had like different gosh, she had totes from like nineteen ninety on. So they're all different colors and styles and they don't stack right. So I started transferring the stuff we didn't donate. I started transferring the stuff that I wanted to keep into the black yellow totes. Yeah. I I had like sixty of these totes that just I didn't know what to do with. Took a picture, put on Facebook marketplace. This lady's like, I'll be there in fifteen minutes. This little Asian lady got out of car and she could barely speak English and she's I take, I take yeah, you need help? Yeah. No, no, I got and like some other guy got out of car and they just sta and just how they fit all in the back of a Honda Civic is beyond me, but Herbie: There's a way. You know why? Because it was free. That's how they found it. Shamus: And I was just like, dude, so like anytime I don't think like Purple Heart or what's the some of the other you donate to. No, they do like clothes and stuff for veterans and stuff, but like that curio cabinet, it's nice, don't get me wrong. It's not like it's all busted. But like that thing would probably get busted up in the back of the truck So I'm like, let me just get rid of it. And yeah, it's like anytime you put anything up for f I scrap metal. Like I had like all these old gutters on the house. We ripped that shit down, and I put that up and it's a fist fight for that shit. Herbie: yes, crazy. Shamus: I had like fifteen people hit me off in like three minutes and I was just like and I tried to keep it fair. If you're the first one, yeah, hey man, I'll hold it for you, but I got a bunch of people behind so I need to know if you're coming. And if you're coming, like you said, y'all are in twenty minutes, I'll hold it for you. But if you can't make it in twenty don't sell me no bullshit, I'll be and most of those guys, the scrap guys are old. Herbie: Dude, on point. Every township has that one older bare bellied guy that doesn't look really all right all the way. It has that white beat up freaking pickup truck with holes in it and all that stuff, and that whole back bed is just loaded with scrap, dude. Shamus: And it's amazing how much because they'll tell you how much like what copper's going for, aluminum and stuff. And I'm just like, that's great, dude. But that's why you're here to get rid of all this. Like, I'm not cashing in on this or But yeah, you're absolutely right. Every township has one. yeah. and they always tell you when they leave, don't ever take anything to the township. Dump. If you need to get rid of it, call me if it's metal. Yeah. So yeah. Yeah. But yeah, it's been I horror stories, man. Horror stories. another thing I'm selling. My car dolly that I bought to go get Assface's car that he bought, the cat. So instead of having it instead of paying like five hundred dollars for a tow, I paid like five hundred dollars for it. So took it up to Newark, picked up the Briggs' truck, bought it back. And then it's been sitting in my driveway ever since. I was just like, you know, and I bought like a spare tire for it and put new tires on it. So I was like, let me just get what I paid for like for the tire. So I put it up for seven hundred bucks and guys are like, Hey, is it available? Yes. I know you're firm on the price, but I only have five hundred dollars, so I guess I can't buy it. All right. Herbie: Go, thanks for your text. Yeah. Shamus: You're welcome. Herbie: I was hoping you were gonna haggle, man. That's another thing, too, man. People just want to haggle for everything, man. I mean, it's good that people try. I mean, some people, you know, like you gotta shoot your shot, man. Cause sometimes people will just say, All right, cool. I want to get rid of it and just settle for that. But you know, there's other people that are like, dude, I know what I have, and I at least want to break it, at least kind of even for what I'm putting, you know, what I'm putting out there. You know what mean? Shamus: Yeah, it's it's I I just don't get it, man. Then I love the people that put something like I'll put something up and I'm like, hey, is this available? And you're like, Yes. Then you don't hear anything. Yeah. And then when somebody else comes and picks it up and sell it and then you hit mark sold, it could be like three weeks later. You hit marks sold and the guy will send you back. I was interested. Yeah, three fucking weeks ago, dude. Herbie: J just because you added it to your Amazon wish list, that doesn't mean you put it in the in the shopping cart. Shamus: Then you get the guys when I sold my motorcycle and everybody does this. Yeah. on a motorcycle, especially like on the sixty seven Ford, the guy did the same thing, Ethel. Yeah. Like you put your hand on the exhaust to show that the engine's cold stuff and then you fire it up. And if it's you know, that shows them that it's cold started, it's good to go. You get those guys, why the hell are you doing that? But that don't prove shit. Bro, you buying the bike? Yeah. No. Then fuck off. Yeah. I don't need your append. Like just keep moving. Herbie: Like what you on Mythbusters or something, man? Shamus: That's what the the temperature gauge is for. yeah. Go fuck yourself. Okay, well how about that? They don't even offer you anything. They just go on there to troll you. And I'm like, these dudes, man. I Herbie: What is wrong with people, man? Shamus: love it. Herbie: Get hobbies. I mean, th like people love to haggle and stuff like that. That's the one thing I actually would love to learn how to talk in like that auction where I like, You know, I would love to be able to speak like that on the regular and just fuck with everybody. They'd be like, What the fuck is this guy talking about, man? Because people love to haggle, Shamus: I love when people do that. Herbie: man. I mean, you could go to the freaking You you can go to Columbus Farmers Market, open up a table, and you got like some old granny that wants the whole goddamn table for fifty cents. You're like, honey, look. Look, Mimo. Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: And they want you to back it up and put it in their car for fifty cents. I'm like, I got a whole table of crap. Shamus: Well my thing is this, like if I see something on there that's ridiculously priced, yeah, I just keep moving. Well yeah, yeah. I'll hit like save because I know eventually they're gonna drop to if it's something I w I don't buy too much stuff on there, but usually like when we were putting a set together, like some of that stuff I'll look I look for, you know, building materials or you know, leftover stuff. and I'll just hit like save to see if the price comes down. If it doesn't, does but some people go I can't believe hi, this is a joke, right? Fuck you and fuck your price. And I'm like, if you're not gonna buy it, why comment on it? Herbie: Because I don't know, 'cause they wanna look cool in front of I don't know, especially like in Facebook marketplace. Like is there like I guess everyone else can see the other people's comments and stuff? Shamus: You can't up and up on the left hand side there's like the thumbs up thing, there's a message thing and it'll say like two or three messages. And this is a new scam going on too for all you Facebook marketplace people. if you hit on if you see like two or three like the word balloon things like the text or messages, I always click on it to see if somebody's offering something or what the conversation is. Excuse me. the new thing now is people be like, Hey, I have marked I have Facebook by my friend doesn't, but he wants to buy this. Here's his text, you know, give him a call that and then when you call they got your number and they s suck all your money out of your account or whatever or through your Venmo or I don't know or Yeah. So if you ever for all you listeners out there, if you ever go on marketplace and you see the word balloon with a couple messages and you hit it and you see that somebody's just like, Hey I have marketplace, my friend doesn't, he won he's interested or he's gonna come pick it up. Can you give him a text or call? Da da da don't ever or if you're selling something, don't ever fall for that. Herbie: Well, that's why sometimes it's even good to meet up in public places too, because if you have like an item you're trying to sell and people want to come, you know, meet in a public place. Like there was even one I seen in an ad where a dude actually had, I think, Seattle or California or something, where you can actually one of those AI cars or whatever that you can rent and it like automatically just takes you. Like the robot car or whatever the hell he actually met up this guy for like a movie camera type thing and like you know was holding on to it and then just hopped in his freaking Uber thing and it took him home and he and he stole the guy's camera. Shamus: yeah, that's another thing you see all the time. People that's when people sell phones and laptops. Somebody's like, Let me see it real quick and they grab it and they just take off. I try not to well, with the curio, I'm not really worried about it too much, but I try not to go to people's houses. Like a lot of these police departments or townships have like they call it the the Facebook market cam where there's a camera set up behind a police department or like City Hall or something where and it's marked. Like you can meet up there. It's a public place. There's a camera that kind of so if you ever do have a problem, you just go right to the police department stuff. So yeah, try not to have anybody come to your house or go to anybody's house. another thing I noticed with Marketplace is and it's kind of pissing me off 'cause it's like eBay. People are putting shit on there now and they're just like, especially like with toys and collectibles and stuff like that. It'll be like, all right, you click on it. Cause usually I I do a search radius of like twenty miles within Medford because I don't feel like driving all over the state for shit. yeah. but now they're doing it where just like, okay, this like set of baseball cards or whatever are like twenty-five dollars. But then when you click on it, it's like and shipping is like four thousand dollars. And it's like you gotta like send me an offer kind of deal. It's like eBay. And I'm like, Yeah, this is not what This is supposed to be. Herbie: Too many because I go on eBay too, so you'll like something for like 30 bucks, and there's like you know a hundred and twenty-four dollars for delivery. I'm like, what Shamus: Yeah, I don't I think I was telling you for my evil army of action figures I've been building for our set. there was a twenty one inch Staypuff Marshmallow man from the Ghostbusters movie. And the guy wanted like a hundred bucks for it. And I was kinda like, and if you know as well as I do, and I'm sure people who work or deal with eBay know when you look at something and you walk away from it, like once it registered that you looked at it, it usually sends a message to the seller. Yeah. Or the seller sets up something automatically where eBay will hit you back and go, Okay, the seller said he'll knock off twenty five percent or twenty percent and we'll give it to you for eighty bucks. And I was kind of like, okay. But then I went back and looked at shipping and the dude wanted like forty five dollars for the shipping. And I'm like, There's no there's no way Herbie: Where do live? France? Shamus: And that's what 'cause I put cause you can put like decline offer and then on the bottom it'll say, you know, why did you decline this offer? And I was just like, Look, dude, I'll give you eighty bucks for it, but there's no way you're gonna You're charged me forty five dollars for shipping. And he was like, That's what it costs to ship and I'm like, You don't even know where the fuck I'm at. How do you know how much it's and I'm nah, dude, we're good. Like I really not for Yeah now. For forty five dollars. Herbie: It just seems like maybe 'cause sometimes you'll see the similar it's the same product that actually has a different range. Like, you know, I guess sometimes they'll lowball the pr the looking price or the asking price. So this way it'd be more attention on that item instead of like the four others are about the same thing. And then they try to lure you in with that, Yeah, thanks for shipping. Now it's Shamus: Yeah, because my nephew, every time he comes up from the military, always forgets something. And the one time he forgot his laptop. Yeah. His work laptop. So like the next morning I get up early, go down to Medford thing. I got insurance on this thing, da da da big box, and shipping was like seven bucks. And it was fully insured if something so you mean to tell me I could ship a twenty two inch MacBook or whatever the hell it is, 'cause it was big, it was one of them big ass ones. I can ship that with full insurance for like up to a thousand dollars for seven fifty or eight bucks. And a twenty one inch foam action figure is gonna cost me forty five dollars to ship. What are you Herbie: Maybe Dan Ackroyd is the one that delivers it or some shit. I don't know. You know? Like Danny, you're up, man. So what's kind of the bid for the staple? Shamus: Yeah, I just it's crazy, man. It's absolutely insane. It's almost as bad as Facebook dating, which is a whole I don't either anymore. I actually just went the other day, you know how like every once in a while you get like so and so might be somebody you like in dating. Yeah. And like it was the first one I've gotten since Christ. I couldn't even remember. And I was like, Holy shit, I still have a profile on here. Like I clicked on it and I looked and I was like, Yeah, we're gonna And it takes me because you have to go and look. And then he asks you, Are you sure you wanna delete? You sure you don't want to save? Why are you deleting? You have to hit it like nine times. Yeah. So I finally did get rid of it. But like real quick, I was like, let me scroll through this shit real quick and let me see what's going in. I was just like, ooh. Herbie: All the dating could be like Facebook marketplace and stuff too, man. You look at the item, you're like, yeah, this looks great, but it's like seven hundred bucks for shipping, you're like, you're a hooker. Shamus: Yeah, yeah, and then when you get there it's never what it's supposed to be. And and listen it's vice versa. I try to And Herbie: I'm sure for ladies too, yeah. Shamus: it's like I said, it's been years. So I try to at the time put up like recent pictures of me, so I don't wanna, you know, sell no bullshit or anything like that. Like look, I'm a chunky dude. This way it is big fucking head. Yeah. Herbie: But I like snacks though, so we got that. Shamus: So I don't want them like walking, you know, if I show up now. I'm actually smaller than I was in newspapers, which is actually a pretty good deal. But yeah, some of his my god, I remember that s like so vividly. Like it was before COVID. It was like a couple years before COVID. Yeah. He would show up and you're like, my and I'm never Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: the guy who's just like get 'cause my one buddy, like I walked into the bathroom and I was just like, You ain't gonna believe this shit, bro. And he was like, just leave. And I was like, I can't do like that, you know what I mean? Like, you don't want to be mean, you know. And like I always try to give everybody their best experience. Like, even if I'm not interested, I'm still gonna give you what it would be like to date this. So I'm always Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: nice. I always pick up the bill And then they're like, Hey, you wanna go do something else? And I'm like, I would love to, but I'll give you somewhere tomorrow morning and it was nice meeting you and you know, that kind of deal. So I'm always a gentleman throughout the whole deal, but I'm just like, man. This is not what I signed up for. Herbie: did that before too for a while man he would text me he's like I'm heading to this bar and it was like one of these bars that was just like a really shady CD bar. I said dude you going in there by yourself? He's like yeah yeah it should be okay. I gotta meet you I'll just gonna meet her and I think her friend's gonna be there for her I was like dude Text me in case I need to come get you or something like that, man, just to make sure that you're okay. 'Cause he you know, of course he got like a picture and stuff too and he walked in there and the the place is basically it's empty. And it was like two ladies at the far end of the of the thing and he didn't really recognize The individual that he was supposed to make the encounter, so he just acted like he went to the bathroom and he went into the bathroom for a little bit and then just walked right back out. And he takes me like, dude, she was hideous, man, I can't do it Shamus: Well, there was a couple things I'd learned. Like anybody who is looking up at a camera, like the aerial view. yeah. Yeah, that's a that's a huge red flag. Plus Yeah, there's there's a lot of that shit going Herbie: Yeah. Filters and stuff too, maybe Shamus: on. So I always get weirded out about the people who take pictures with their kids and put it. I'm like, why would you put your kids Don't get me wrong, like I've dated women with kids. That's not the issue. The issue is if I'm a pedo And I'm bl and I'm like, she's got kids too. You know what I mean? Like I would never Herbie: I I think basically for like the ladies that do that, they're probably like, All right, these are my kids. This is like, you know, this this is my world and you're just like this is great. Shamus: You gotta put on the bottom is mother of three, mother of two, one more kids. You ain't gotta put them up there like Herbie: Yeah. I mean I can understand like 'cause like, you know, everyone scrolls through Facebook and like people you may know and stuff like that. So there's always like that one picture of like a like a lady that's pretty and then you see like a lot of her photos is just like her and her kids, which is really cool. But then it like you realize then you look at the thing like, she's married and stuff like that, which is cool because it's basically she's showing she's advertising that This is her life. Get that. Shamus: I guess. Herbie: You what I mean? Which is cool. But you know, then you got some of these other ones, man, that look like they're, you know, they're out there to single and trying to mingle and next thing you know, it's like Gollum from frickin' Lord of the Rings and stuff, man. I'm like, and I'm no prize either. But I'm not gonna sit there and be like, come on, man. Shamus: We'll get back to the whole mom thing. Here's another tip for you. If you're a single mom and you have a minivan or you know, like you're a soccer mom and you have the little stick figures of your family on the back, don't do that shit. Yeah. Get that off the back of your co Herbie: that 'cause like i I've seen like things like that too where 'cause like people that are crazy can s you know, you're basically seeing the names of exactly Shamus: I know how many people are in your house. I come in there to rob it or do a home invasion or something like that. Or if I'm a pedophile, I know how many kids you got. And then if you got the dog there, I'm gonna get okay, now they got a dog. So if you have that on the back of your car, please remove it. Herbie: Yeah, just be yeah, be very leery about that stuff, man, 'cause there's just like a lot of sickos and those pedos are out there and unfortunately the only way they can catch is like after the the horrible deed is done. And then we get to kill Actually no, they gotta go to frickin' prison first. Shamus: But yeah, getting back to Facebook dating and marketplace, man, it it's become a total shitsho. Like I can even Facebook itself, like everything is just so like ads and I'm like I know there's a button on the bottom where you can hit like friend like there's a friend thing where you can always see your friends feeds with no advertising and shit, but I'm just like so over this shit, man. crazy. MySpace is actually coming back out too. Yeah. To relaunch it. The same guy, I guess who was that guy? Tom? Your first friend on MySpace? They're Herbie: Dude, really? Shamus: doing it, but they said they're supposed to be doing it something where there's no algorithm to it and there's no ads. Like it's just strictly. I guess what that's what my for all you young cats out there, that's what MySpace originally kicked all this shit off. The social media thing. it was Just a place where people it's like a it's almost like Facebook, but it was without all the yeah, it was a chat room, but it wasn't all the ads, all the bullshit, all the negativity. So apparently they're relaunching it and they said they're not doing any of the shit that Facebook's it's like a place you can go without ads and negativity and Herbie: You imag you can imagine if if there's people that actually still have their MySpace account and they can like Shamus: Too mine's still up. I just can't get into it. Like even if I hit I forgot my password, I c I can't remember what my email was back then. And I've had the same email for th I mean I still have an AOL email. So I mean like I don't know what other email I had that I used for. Herbie: Dude, that's crazy. I remember you guys tried to get me to get on MySpace and I was just like, I don't know. I didn't have a computer or something like that. Shamus: I remember sitting at a bar. We just got done a set. I was in a band. Yeah. And we just got done a set and we were sitting at a bar and I actually walked over to the sound guy. This guy Tom Quinn who's amazing. If he's listen I don't think he's listening. It's been years since we talked. I know he's on my Facebook page, so shout out to Tom and his wife Lauren. great sound guy. And I walked over to where he was doing sound for the next band and we started bullshitting and he was telling me he was like, You guys really need to promote your band, you guys are really good. And I was just like, Yeah, I don't I don't you know, you're young. Yeah. Half in a bag already, you know, trying to pick up chicks 'cause you're in a cover band, you think you're good, you know, you think you're the man. And I was just like, I don't even know that's what the fucking billboard out front's for. You know, the and he was like, No, there's this new thing called MySpace where and I was just like The hell are you talking about, man? Because at the time I still didn't even have a cell phone. I don't think I had a cell phone up until like 2011 or 12. What? Herbie: I was definitely one of the last ones too, bro. Shamus: And he was just like, yeah, MySpace is and he's showing it to And I'm like, I have no like that would I'd have been better off like taking a trip to the moon and trying to figure it out at that moment. Cause I was like I said, I was drunk, just got done looking at chat, and I was just like, I don't even know what you're talking. So like it was like two or three days later we got together and he showed it to me. And I was like, all right, man, we'll check it out. Yeah. I started my and I actually started a MySpace page for my class, the class of ninety six, Riverside High School class of ninety six. Yeah. And that shit was ripping like everybody was on there. And I was like, all right, 'cause I mean we were still young. Yeah. and we were all in communication. We actually had a ten year reunion and all that shit. And I mean we haven't had one since. Yeah. But and then all of a sudden like Facebook showed up and MySpace just kind of died. I was like So every I think it was like two years ago I went on there to say and you can still go on there. Wow. But And like my characters all like you know, your my profile pictures, Calvin as stupendous man. I was like, holy shit Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: and I went to sign on to I've totally forget but if they're gonna relaunch it then I'm yeah, I'm definitely gonna check it out. Yeah. Because I can't like I can't stand Facebook anymore. Herbie: Yeah, I like you is like I think of all that stuff. Like people go on Facebook, then they switch to Instagram and then they're on that for a little while, then everyone does Snapchat. And then it was I remember like everyone's like, Well, I don't want people like recording my face and all that, and like all you have to do is make a goddamn filter so they can scan your face 'cause I remember everyone's like used to be like a against like face identity and all that crap. I'm like, Yeah, all you have to do is make a filter and get some frickin' cat cat ears and frickin' whiskers and it's a filter and you're like, my god, now I can put my Shamus: I just can't stand the algorithm shit. Like it my phone's sitting right next to me right now. Yeah. And as soon as you leave and I go to look at something, it's gonna be they're gonna bring up pooper scoopers again. It's gonna be a whole bunch of tattoo stuff because of the sponsors that we mentioned. And then because of the podcast stuff, they're gonna be like, Hey, we can help you with your podcast or do you want to start a pod or where to get the cheapest podcast equipment? And then it'll be something about pedophiles, pa dating sites and my space is gonna be like I can't stand that shit. I cannot stand. Herbie: I can't stand like when you're playing a free game and there's all those goddamn ads you gotta watch. I'm like, Jesus Christ. It makes me That's Shamus: Why it's free, brother. Somebody's gotta pay for it. Yeah. Herbie: true. And then they're like, you want this cool robot with the new robot skin with this laser gun? I'm like, yeah. Only only $39.99. I'm like, you son of a bitch. Now I have to watch the goddamn ads. Shamus: Yeah, I I used to play like the like the you know how like when you got a computer back in the day from like gateway and every computer's got like Candy Crush or like solitary or something like that. I just try to stick to that. But even now you gotta pay for that Like everything you gotta pay for. It's crazy. I well on a computer I'm talking about on your phone. I don't think there's any free games on your phone. Herbie: I play I play games on my phone too. There's like maybe like a solid maybe three or four that I play like regularly because it's always like, you know, you're building up 'cause it's one of those things where if if you stop playing it, you you you kinda get out of the loop and you don't continually try to re you know, build your character's always Upgrades, upgrades, upgrades, upgrades, upgrades. New things, new things, upgrades, upgrades, upgrades. So if you wait like two or three months, next thing you know you come back with like maybe you got some dope shit, like a sniper rifle or something like that. Then you come back and I'm like, Yeah, this freaking other laser scope to sniper rifle that can sh suck the life force out of you at like a a thousand eleven thousand meters, and you're like, son of a bitch, I didn't got that. What Shamus: Yeah, I never really spend that kind of time on my phone. Herbie: it? I'm like, Yeah. Shamus: But once I get to an airport where I got my back to the wall and I can see stuff and everything like and if I got like an hour wait before my flight leaves or something I'll whip out like solitary or something like that or Herbie: You know what I hate though at the airports? Like when you go to some of the airports now, it's like you sit at the bar and then you gotta like download the goddamn menu, then you gotta download the goddamn t I'm like, what do people do anymore that work there? They just I mean you literally could sit there and those dudes are just sitting there hanging out until you print out a tick like, you know, run out print out a ticket for them on their expo. Like, why am I putting all these goddamn orders in? I'm like Shamus: I try not to use the airport either because you're paying twenty-three dollars for a bottle of water and shit. yeah. Try not to do that. speaking of phones, mine still works. Herbie: it does? Shamus: Yeah, man. For all you listeners out there, during our canoe trip, I forgot I had my phone in my pocket when I flipped my kayak. And First thing I did when I got up out of the water, I just looked over at Herbie and Herbie was like, What? I pulled it out of my pocket and he was like, and I was just like, It's cool, man. I was like, you know, I think it's like an iPhone 10 or some shit. Cause I'm not I'm one of those guys that don't care. I just need to text, check my fantasy football scores, and call everyone. I don't even talk on the phone all that much. I just text. Yeah. held it up, got it out of my pocket real quick, put it on the deck of the kayak. We kept kayaking. it kind of dried out when we got in the truck. Thank God Kim was there. Yeah. 'Cause when we got into the the Jeep, I went to plug it in. Herbie: that's right. Yeah, she's like unplug it, unplug it. Shamus: And it was just for the music part of it because my I'm one of those guys I don't have one one of those big ass computers in my car. Yeah. And the twenty fifteen Jeep Wrangler didn't have one either. so I went to plug it into the USB port for music and it said liquid detect it. And I'm like, what the f what is that? And she's like, unplug it. Hurry up, unplug it. And I unplugged it. She was just like, it's telling you that it's working, but there's still water in your phone. Yeah. You gotta dry it out before you can charge it or anything. And I was like, really? Herbie: That's actually cool, man. It's cool feature. Shamus: So what I did was I put it in a cup holder where the charging port was facing down so everything could run out of it. like I said, dropped everybody off. We went to dinner, then me and her went to Evergreens for ice cream 'cause we're fat. Herbie: Yeah Shamus: And then she went home. I went home. I woke up the next morning because I left it sitting upright. Yeah. Got up in the morning and kinda plugged it in real slow. It's like Yes. And Herbie: He Shamus: it works. I I'll give it to Apple, man. yeah, good. That thing is still like I haven't had any problems with it. And it was submerged, man. Because I was on the water for a good thirty seconds. Herbie: 'Cause not only that too, we're like we're going through the water and you just get out because like we we we I think we kinda like dropped into like the wrong canoe spot then like Shamus: We definitely did that. Herbie: we we found like the mate the main drop point. But actually I'm kinda glad we did like where dropped in where we were because we actually had more of a trek to get to even to that spot. And we just had like a longer run. But like just you just getting out of the goddamn thing and getting back in there was was the was the debacle. I was like, God damn it. And I saw you and I felt so bad. I'm like, bro Shamus: I I totally intended like I I knew going out that day before I picked any of you guys up, I was like, I'm definitely getting soaked today. I'm definitely end up in the water. Herbie: yeah, that's why I said wear some shitty clothes and you know. Shamus: And that's why I mean I haven't kayaked and that was the first time I've done it in God, I can't even tell you how long. So I was like, I'm gonna be new at this. I'm not gonna know what I'm doing. I'm probably gonna get caught somewhere and end up flipping. And I knew that. So but my dumb ass forgot to take my phone out of my pocket. But it didn't cost me anything. This thing's still working, still ripping. So shout out to Apple man. Yeah man. I'll never get another phone again. Herbie: Looked out man. I should have put like mine in a Ziploc bag. Shamus: Yeah, Kim said something like I know you and you were smart about it too, 'cause you have the Ziploc bag, but Kim has like one of them waterproof bags that it even floats too. Yeah. Yeah. 'Cause she was saying, like, you know, Herbie's the the Ziploc bag's great, but it I nearly Herbie: It'll sink. Shamus: She's like, My floats, my floats. As she proceeded to soak me as I was getting dried off, she was like, throwing water. Herbie: Well she took a shit the first time too though, man. Yeah, I didn't even Shamus: Yeah. I I wish I could have seen it. I just heard splash and I looked because she was in front of me. Yeah. And she was going like there was a tree going across the lake, but like as it went across, it got higher. Yeah. And she went to get into the like go up underneath the high part. Yeah. And I guess she was going she said she wanted to grab she grabbed it to like spin herself and just I know she got up. She was like But then I said 'cause I remember going, Hey, are you okay? And she's like, Yeah, I'm fine, da da da and and she was like, look, I got my waterproof bag and Yeah. I was just like, Don't laugh, dude, because if you fall in, she's gonna give it to you. yeah. And you know you're going in, so Herbie: Yeah, 'cause I was like a little bit ahead of you guys and I was like, I turned around, I like, where are guys at? I just like put off to the side for like a little bit and I'm sitting there. I'm like, wait a minute, something's going on. And I came back around and then you guys were like lifting the freaking kayak out of the water, just getting the w you know, letting the water run out of that plug thing. Shamus: great about hers too was they were building a house up on the ridge to like all the workers and shit saw. Herbie: I like that that that house with like all those like the the stairwell in the back towards the water. That was cool looking, man. Shamus: Yeah, that one that other house towards the end too, like the log cabin looking one where the guy was actually out and we were like, hey, what's going on, buddy? Man, it would be cool to own. Like even like Len. Yeah. Like Kim's dad. Yeah. That the way that's set up, because I haven't been there in years. Yeah. And for them to cut that trail to the I was like, dude, this is awesome. Herbie: Yeah. Awesome. I use that all the time. That's where we're the we camp out and stuff at too. I guess yeah. Shamus: What is that? Vincent Town Lake, is that what it's called? Yeah, their house backs right up to that lake, and I never knew that. I was like, wow, that's awesome. Herbie: Yeah, it's cool. There's like a lot of lakes around here. There's like, you the Rancocos and all that stuff. So and I see like a lot of people still like on the South Jersey kayakers. So listeners, if you guys like kayaking and stuff like that, you know, give us a shout out on the mailbag. Let us know like some good spots. Shamus: Another thing that was going on this weekend that we missed was the canoe carnival up in Medford Herbie: Medford, dude, they went. Shamus: Lakes. Cause Friday they have like everybody with their kayaks go out there. So like the whole township's there. And then Saturday is like the big Medford Lakes canoe carnival parade where they do like the floats like in high school. But they float They had the Star Wars one with the A T A T. So but it's like I said, it's a weird I don't know what's going on in Medford Lakes. It's a weird cult kind of feeling thing. Like if you're an out of towner, man, yeah. It's You're Herbie: It's almost like if you're not from Med Shamus: like yeah, you're like Kevin Bacon and Footloose, man. Like nobody likes you, nobody Sheriff gives you a hard time and shit. So Herbie: Not allow the data. Shamus: But yeah, it's like I said, you you gotta have passes, get on the beach and use certain leaks there. You can't be from out of town or they throw you out and I think they tar and feather you or stone you to death I don't know what's going on that they Herbie: Hello. Shamus: actually just pa I I don't know if we mentioned this before. I think I might have mentioned it. They just passed some kind of rule that if you sell your house in Medford Lakes, the township comes out and takes pictures of your property. Uhhuh. So that way the next buyer comes in and if they cut a tree down, they'll find like They'll find you have to get permission to cut trees down and Meffort Lakes denies everybody. Yeah. So they come out and actually take a picture of your property to make sure you're not cut I'm like, that's some communist shit. Yeah. Like there's no f I it's a nice town, don't get me wrong. But there's no way I'm Herbie: Yeah, especially if there's a lot of trees around your house and it has a chance of damage for like you know. Shamus: Well, that's my question. If an old tree falls on my house and then my insurance is just kinda like, Well, why didn't you cut it down? Yeah. I couldn't cut it. Well, that's bull and now you're fighting with the town and you're like, who gonna pay for this? So Herbie: Nobody. Especially like the you know Medford Lakes houses. There's a lot of like those old like log cabin type houses and stuff, man. So that's just like probably even more of a penny has to try to like replace some damage to that type of frickin' thing. You know I mean? See that's why I Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: want to get like make like a boat so we can like attack it. It'll be cool, man. You can make like a pirate shop. And they had so many different things out there, man. It's almost like if I don't know, we gotta do some a scouting or something, man. Might be able to s get in there. Shamus: You've seen a ship with black sails that is crewed by the damned. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. And we can like make it kinda crappy so like ev even if we do have to abandon ship, we could just leave it and burr. Shamus: Well that that's another thing. Like a buddy of mine belongs to one of the clubs that builds that thing. It they're kinda like the mummers. Yeah. And you gotta get like a back like they have to accept it and vote you eat. You can't just start a club I'm like this is some gay ass sh Herbie: So we can't even do kiss my anthe nothing like that again? Shamus: Like well first of all we're not residents of Medford Lake, so we can't be a part of it. So Herbie: We gotta move in there. Shamus: I was just like, man. But I that's why I never go because it looks like a ton of fun. Yeah. 'Cause I mean you can go and watch yeah like a lot like I a lot of people there's like a public beach they call it where everybody goes and watches or I refuse to take any part of that because I hate the rules in Medford Lakes and I think they're a bunch of jerkers. Herbie: Those beats those those beaches aren't actually that big from what I understand. 'Cause you know, driving by some I mean, they're decent sizes but Shamus: And I'm not talking about the residents. I'm just talking about the township committee. You know, and I I know the chief of police. I met him a couple of times when I worked at Tabernacle. doing like active shooter training and all this stuff. Seems like a really nice guy. but like some of their policies and laws in that town are just fucking jerked off. Herbie: I guess like sometimes they do stuff like that so it doesn't get overrun by people from the outside, which ca which I in a in a way I kinda can see that because I see other towns for like you know, firework events you know, that are like actually still very nice and they kinda have it closed. Shamus: Yeah, but they're kind of surrounded by like Medford's a nice I mean Medford's like the best town in South Jersey according to the New Jersey magazine or one one five or whatever. And Voorhees is on the other side. That's a I mean, that's where the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies and all those fly. It's not like you're butted up next to Candon or Trenton or anything like that. Like I I just don't get it. So But yeah, we missed the canoe carnival. Yeah. So and like I think like I said the night before there was a picture of the lake and there was like Thousands of like kayaks and stuff like that out there. Herbie: Like frickin' like Flochella man, like out in Tyson Shoals, man. I mean that's how many boats were out there when I was at that thing, man. Who was Shamus: Mm. Herbie: that? It's like Island Beach State Park. Though every year the hell Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: And it was just like thousands of boats, dude. Like boats, kayaks, jet skis, mini speed boats, just like just tons of tons of people. It's awesome. It's a great party. But it's just I gotta be able to try to have one of that. I wanna get in there. Shamus: Get up in there, man. Herbie: Well, maybe I could try to like supposedly fake rent a a room out in Medford Lakes or something and get that pass. Shamus: A friend of mine lives in Medford Lace and she's always like on cruises. Now that we're retired because she worked with me at state. now that she's retired, she's always like, I got an extra and she's single, so they give you two, I guess, one for you and spot. She was like, I got an extra button. I was like, Man, I don't want nothing to do with you, rich ass. Cakey motherfuckers. Herbie: I'll bring cake. I wanna br man, I'm gonna bring I gotta make a boat. I gotta make a cool boat that I don't mind blowing up at the end. You know what I mean? Like one of those like those what the hell you see like those underwater like electric propeller things where you like you can be underwater and just turn it on and just it's almost like an underwater jet ski Shamus: yeah. Herbie: Yeah, just motor away, dude. You just like wreck havoc and then just make my march. Shamus: Some of them actually say my buddy, the one year I did talk to him about it, because I just moved out here, so it had to be twenty two. Yeah. Whenever after COVID it started back up the canoe carnival thing, they built one like a Sesame Street theme. Yeah. And they got halfway around the lake and that shit just Like the lights went Herbie: Glack glug. Shamus: out and just Burton Ernie were floating at the shore, you know, swimming. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Abandon ship, Big Bird. Get your ass Herbie: That's cool though. See that that's that that's that's cool stuff though. I'm glad like that tradition, Shamus: But apparently it's like you said, like it is such a big tradition that as they were going down, other like not just 'cause I guess there's people on just like little canoes out there that go out there and help you and stuff. But like all the other floats kind of stopped. Yeah. And like I well, I don't know what the Navy term is for it, but they butted up next to them so they can get all their electrical equipment and everything before it hit the water and stuff. And it's cool. You know, so yeah, it is like a family event. it's very it's a traditional thing where everybody helps each other out. Even other Like if we're building a float and my neighbor's on another team but they need something, we have it. Yeah. So it is a good deal and all that stuff like that. It's like I said, I'm just weirded out by the whole, you know. Well, Herbie: Township aspect of it. Shamus: yeah, like, you know. No you know, locals only kind of shit. Yeah. I mean that's how Herbie: They are very creative with that. Shamus: the beginning of Rambo started, you know? Yeah. Herbie: I'll give him a war. I'll give him a war they won't believe. Shamus: So but yeah, it was a good time this weekend. And like I said, we're still waiting on this lady to show up for this curio Herbie: yeah. Shamus: cabinet. Herbie: like I I I hope they're like, we got some bad news. Like God, I gotta get that curial. Shamus: Yeah, I hope she doesn't die on the fucking x-ray ch Herbie: She's like on the ambulance and she's like, Yo, do me a favor, stop off free. And just write free on it. There's somebody that's gonna take that goddamn whole thing. Shamus: What's the weirdest well, not the weirdest. What's the biggest thing you ever bought or the first thing you comes to mind that you ever bought on Facebook marketplace? It could be weird, it could be big. Herbie: Boat. That was like basically the the boat. Shamus: yeah. Yeah, the one we want to get. Yeah. Herbie: that still needs to be, you know, that's getting ready to go in the water. Shamus: Yeah, we gotta christen that. yeah. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: I don't know, I bought a lot of shit. Herbie: I mean, I've I've seen a lot of stuff 'cause I was before I was looking for that s exact specific boat before. And there's other spots that had it that were like farther away and everything. And that's when I was starting to get like my grasp on like, you know, Facebook Marketplace. And then I start seeing other things. And I put in bids for other small things and stuff like that. But it was just like you know, kind of familiar. But, you know, the one purchase I made, you know, with you, that turned out just fine. And then and then the seller was good too. Which kinda helps for other people to see like, you know, the seller's rating. So that that's very cool. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, I try to keep mine. Yeah. 'Cause I don't sell too much stuff. I usually do a buying part of it. But I try to keep like when I do go and pick something up if they're cool, I always tell as I'm walking back to the truck, I'm like, Hey, when I get back home I'll give you good I don't mark it as sold. Yeah. And don't take it down until I give you a rating. Yeah. I'm like, all right, no problem. But yeah, usually most of the stuff I buy is like we were talking before the show. Like like a lot of construction companies have like leftover Like shingles or wood or something like that. Plywood's always a big thing. yeah. so you can get plywood if it's thirty five dollars at a home depot. Some guys are like twenty dollars a sheet. Yeah. I just go, you know, pick that's how I built that big ass yeah garage shed thing in the back and it's twenty six by twelve. I mean it's big. Yeah. Not including the twenty byck on the side of it. Herbie: The deck itself. Shamus: But like the shingles, the plywood, the garage door and the Double doors, the patio doors. Yeah. All Facebook marketplace and all like I the double doors guy was just like when I got there, he was like, Give me twenty five dollars for it because he just got new doors put in his house. He just wanted to get rid of Yeah. So when I showed up, I loaded them up and I turned around. He was like, just go ahead. Now I was like, nah, bro, I'm already here. Here's twenty five hours. the shingles. Turns out it was my buddy's new wife who was selling She was selling like twenty bundles of shingles for like a hundred and fifty bucks. And I was like, that's what I need because I think my roof's like ten square or whatever. And I was like, that's what I you know, so didn't realize it was her. And she was just like, dude, if you want if I know you want them, I'd just give it to you. I'm like, who the hell is this? She's like, it's Trent's wife. I'm like, my God. So when I showed up, she's like, just take And I nah, here's a hundred fifty, you know, thanks for But yeah, so you can find a lot of good like construction stuff. if you need a tool or something like that, but you want to go spend five hundred hours on this thing, you can find it on marketplace. Because if you're only going to use it once, what the hell do you need to go buy a brand new one for? And it's gonna send up so you can get one on marketplace for like a hundred bucks and then when you're done with it, you could turn around and sell it for a hundred bucks. Herbie: Yeah, true. Shamus: So so it's good for that, but like I said, there's a lot of weirdos and stuff. there's one guy I just hit off because for the Jeep window. Uhhuh. Not the guy in Pemberton. I was like, yeah, is this gonna fit my truck? He was yeah. And when I got there, he's like, it's four or four door. I'm like, two-door, dude. That's why I asked. another guy has the same window I need in Point Pleasant. And I was just like, Hey man, is this available? Yeah. I said, okay, let me know when I can pick it up. I'm off all week. Da-da-da. Just give me a time and a place. Haven't heard shit yet. It's two days. I'm like, you wanna sell this shit or what, dude? Herbie: Maybe maybe still on somebody closer and stuff like that too, man. 'Cause I I it's another thing. I used I used to hate putting in bids in eBay. I hated that. Shamus: Why? I hated that last minute sniper shit. Herbie: I'm like, you son of a bitch. You know? I was like, I was going through a phase where I was buying like the like the the the Carrera Go like race car sets. What the? And was, it's just like a slot slot car. Shamus: okay. Herbie: And found like a speed racer car. I was like, 'Cause like a lot of the Carrera Go cars they have out now are like, you know, like the all the same type ones and all that. So of course eBay has you know, the ones that have been out for like a while, like the ones you can't get. They had like a Batmobile and all that stuff. So I was like, Ho ho ho ho ho and they had the Speed Racer car and they had like the little Speed Racer guy in it and everything. And it was a bid. and it was only one, one Speed Racer car, man. There was another one that was all jacked up, but there was like one in like great condition. I was like Shamus: How bad do you want it, bro? Herbie: Yeah, I did. I did. I did. I left a party because their Wi Fi sucked. So I could freaking Like I was like, their Wi Fi sucks. I kept on going back and forth with the bid because I didn't really know how it works because I was manually instead of like the limit, I'm thinking like say for example if they want like twenty bucks for it. I'm like, all right, well, you I'll put in a bid for like twenty two 'cause like there was and there was like no bids. Shamus: yeah, you're it's early though. Herbie: Yeah, but it was like, you know, it was like like s four hours left or some crap. Shamus: It's early. Herbie: Yeah. Like four hours left? And it's been on like a thing for like a week? I'm like, come on, man. I was like, This is bullshit. So sitting there and I'm like, what the hell? And I started yelling like you're outbid. I'm like, what do you mean? And the other you don't like, you five cents more and I'm like, son of a bitch. So I'm in I'm in like the goddamn bidding wars with maybe the AI or some butt face. So freaking I'm starting to get it in like the goddamn Wi-Fi at The house was starting to look go. And I'm sitting like at this party and the party was pretty cool too, man. And people are like, What are you doing in the corner? 'Cause I'm just sitting there in a freaking corner just like on my phone all goddamn day. And they know, you know, 'cause I like the party. So they're like, What the hell are you doing? Like, I gotta put it in a bit for this freaking card. They're like, dude. I was like, I gotta go, man. Your wifi sucks. I was like, I got like twenty minutes left before I can win this goddamn thing. And I get home, I was up, and then in three, two, one, boom, I got outbid again and they won. I was like, You must Shamus: Yeah, them sniper dudes where they they bid at like two seconds left. Right. Herbie: I'm like, bro, this thing's been on here for like a week. Shamus: There was actually a company that you would I think it was like five hours a month. Yeah. That you would tell them like this is what I want on eBay, dah dah dah, and they would wait until like the last possible second and they w they were called snipers. Yeah. And they would blow everybody's bit out of what like whatever you're like If it was forty seven dollars and I told them go as high as fifty, at the last second it would go forty eight bucks and win it. But then there was also another company that started that says we can actually beat, like we can block them or something like that. But now eBay just goes, Listen, yeah, once all the bids are done and it's final, we take an extra two minutes to sort through who actually got it and kind of get rid of the snipers. So like all that shit died. yeah. But yeah, I I kind of It was weird, like when the ebay first started, I was all over it. And back in those days there was no digital Venmo or any of that. So you actually had to get a money order or a check. send it and then get your s yeah, and then when they got it, they were like, Okay, we got your payment and then they would send it to you. It took me eight weeks one time to get like a custom USA hockey jersey that I ordered and stuff like that. So I'm I'm Herbie: from that generation too, man. We had to buy like seven Star Wars guys and keep their goddamn proof of purchase to get the goddamn Admiral Akbar, the mail in Admiral Akbar. And it waited like three months for that frickin' thing. Allow six to eight weeks of delivery. I'm like, you son of a bitch. But now man, eba man. I mean Shamus: I'll start. Easy. So like your rating back then really meant something because if you weren't sending payment right away, people were like, This dude sucks, And then you win a bid, they could tell you no, I'm not selling it to you 'cause I'm not dealing with this shit. So I think even to this day, I think I have a perfect rating on eBay. I mean, now it's easy because now you just hit automatic pay and it comes right out of your fucking bank account or your Venmo or whatever. Yeah. Back in the day, man, you had to send. You had to s go get the stamp. man. I need your address, brother. Herbie: I remember there were I bought a ninja sword that I really wanted on eBay, man. And after a while I just like someone else was bidding and I just contacted the seller. I was like, just sell me the goddamn sword. And he's like, the bit's still going on. I'm like, I don't care. I want the sword. I got the money. Right. I was on a date. And a sandwich shop, because I was getting these notifications. I was like, it's go time. I got that goddamn ninja sword though. And I got the chick. Which was cool. So double score for Herbie. And to all you two listeners about the I got another goddamn speed racer car on eBay. And it was even better than the first one. Shamus: Outside. Yeah. Herbie: And I got a Batman probably one of my best. I was going through like this little phase I was buying a a shit ton of those like. you know, box, you know, the slot cars. I even got a smoky and the bandit Transam. Yeah. Shamus: There you go, buddy. Herbie: I got a Batman. I got a Batmobile one. I got a Spider Man one, got some Ninja Turtles, got Shredder, I got a Darth Vader car. And like I was starting to get into it 'cause like my buddy had his son and I would bring the race car sets order 'cause I like, yeah, when I was a kid I used to do this stuff. And probably one of the best Saturdays off football season. It was we best Friday went to their house, I set up the track on their d on their kitchen table and freaking it was like me, two like six year olds and my other buddies, 'cause it was like it was like a like a it was a Mustang and a police car set. And we're just like just ripping through this slot car thing. And the adults started getting into it too. And then we I just brought a big box of wine and it was like in a the the track was an oval. So I put the big box of wine right in the middle of the table. And then the mom actually made a a bunch of air fried dinosaur nuggets. And I was gonna say, man, the freaking dinosaur nuggets are are those are slamming. I'm sure it's for some reason it's For some reason though, Shamus: They're chicken nuggets, they're just shaped like dinos. Herbie: man, the T Rexes and the Triceratops hit different, bro. They're good. I don't know why. I know they're the same goddamn thing. It all you just hit different. Bro, she made Shamus: Mac and cheese and some ketchup, you're good to go. Herbie: like what the hell what did Lindsay make? It was like those it was like some kind of like it was almost like macaroni and cheese. It's like the Noor Noor what the hell like the green packet Noor like Shamus: Or cross or something. Herbie: something like that. It was like some kind of shells. Almost like in a ranch dressing and those chicken nuggies. And how to I brought a box of wine of sangria? Fant Shamus: that's a baby crocker pasta south shit. Yeah. Yeah I know what we're talking about. I love that stuff. I've got a couple boxes here. Herbie: Yeah, dude, a little peas and carrots in it, dude. And at first like, Herbie, what are you doing? I like, the kids are gonna like it. And then sure enough, man, all the adults were like, let me check this out for a little bit, man. And like next thing you know, all the adults are ripping on this damn like slot car set. And then what happened? What do we do? Start buying more shit for it. Jumps, ramps, loops. It was and the kids wanted to play it, so we had like one set for the kids and another set for the adults, man. It was great. Shamus: Well, I guess we can wrap this up. Herbie: Slot cars, man. Shamus: So remember everybody to rate, subscribe, like, and give us Yeah, give us a hit up Herbie: Shut on the mailbox. Shamus: on the mailbox at team pork roll two five at gmail dot com. like I said, I know my buddy Brandon texts me about the Italian hoagie thing, but make sure you're using the email as well so we can give you guys a shout out. Yeah. And do you got anything else, bud? Herbie: Brandon, I'm sure you're a nice guy with that goddamn thing. I love Mayo, but don't put her on an Italian hookie, bro. Shamus: Hold on, let me read exactly how he said he does it. Maybe I did actually sailed it. here it is. FYI, an Italian with mayo, oil, vinegar, salt, pep, oregano, it's really good. You guys are wrong. Also, if you throw it in the oven for ten minutes, it's amazing. Now, I've never it's not me that's wrong. I've never had an Italian hoagie with mayo. I've just never done it. our buddy Tony from South Philly was the one who went on to rant about it. So Herbie: Don't get me wrong, like he's got everything else. I mean the mayo, like I I Shamus: I don't know if you put mayo, oil and vinegar on it. Herbie: was gonna say it's gonna separate that shit. Then Shamus: I don't know. He swears by it though, so Herbie: you put it in the oven for ten minutes with the mayo? Shamus: I'll tell you we might have to have him on the show come in there and make it for us. And we'll all put a taste testing. yeah, we will. Herbie: Tony, I'm still with you, brother. I'm not trying to do that mayo shit, man. Shamus: We'll do it when we go to video, which is coming soon. We're you know, we're scrambling well not scrambling, but we want to take our time, make sure we do it right. I know we missed our our initial deadline, but we're getting there, people. Just hang in there. Anything else? Herbie: about it man. Just thanks for all you listeners man. Shamus: Yeah. All right, everybody. Remember to get your pet spait or neutered, protect the pet population, and take care of yourselves, your community, and each other. Thanks for listening, and we'll see you on the next one. Take care.
