- 0:22Along with all her chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so I'm sharing one of my
- 0:31favorite tricks with you about keeping yourself on track and
- 0:35that is talking to yourself. Now, I know there's going to be
- 0:39people out there that are already laughing and saying hey
- 0:41wait a minute, talking to yourself, doesn't that mean?
- 0:42You're insane. I'm not talking about the
- 0:45typical walking around your house talking to yourself.
- 0:47What I'm talking about is making little recordings to yourself
- 0:51when you are in a great state that you can play back to
- 0:55yourself when you are not in a great state.
- 0:58So let's say that we take morning, for example, morning is
- 1:02a really incredibly important time in setting the tone for
- 1:06your day. Because if your morning is
- 1:08messed up, then everything else tends to be going downhill from
- 1:13there because we stay in that state that we put ourselves in.
- 1:16So if we have an intense morning and that morning is just, you
- 1:22know, you wake up, there's a problem right away, you get an
- 1:24email, that's a problem, you have issues right away.
- 1:28That will be one of those times where you Instantaneously take
- 1:31that energy with you self into the next ACT.
- 1:35Whether it's getting the kids up, whether it's doing something
- 1:37else instantaneously. You have that going with you and
- 1:42oftentimes it's really, really hard to shift it because you're
- 1:47you're stuck, is essentially you're stuck in that moment.
- 1:50You're like frozen, if you will emotionally because you're not
- 1:56paying attention, that's the very first thing.
- 1:58When you wake up, typically we're just in Go mode and we're
- 2:01saying, what have I got to get done today and we've some of us
- 2:04make our to-do lists in the morning.
- 2:06Some of us make our to-do list in the after, you know,
- 2:10afternoon late in the day before.
- 2:13So we have it when we wake up, but most of us tend to wake up
- 2:17and were only thinking about what we have to do.
- 2:19We're not thinking about any of the other stuff to take care of
- 2:22ourselves. We just focused on this little
- 2:24tiny piece of, you know, get to get going.
- 2:27Got to get going. I got a lot to do today.
- 2:29Can't tell you how many Times I myself will say okay I got a lot
- 2:33to do today but the problem is if I'm only focused on what I
- 2:37have to do, I'm not focused on who I'm being.
- 2:41So having these little recordings to myself really
- 2:45helped me. So if I have if you if you have
- 2:49any sort of phone, that's not from, you know, 1802 you can
- 2:55open it up and in your utilities, you have a voice
- 2:59text. App.
- 3:01And this is exactly how I record the podcast.
- 3:05Believe it or not, I use my voice text so much.
- 3:08I found that it was super easy, just to use it for the podcast
- 3:11to. So I come I have a whole series
- 3:15of little ones that stay in my phone that are just messages to
- 3:20myself that I use. So if I'm off, if I'm off track,
- 3:25if I'm off base, if I'm not tracking in a way that I want to
- 3:30of my Is going downhill. If I'm feeling frustrated if I'm
- 3:34in between sessions, if people coach with me they know I am I
- 3:38keep my sessions really tight because I like to stay in flow
- 3:42and in mode, I don't I don't like to take breaks actually
- 3:45because it throws me off. And then I can't, you know, I'm
- 3:47so in the moment I can't get back into flow quickly.
- 3:51So I like to keep it pretty tight.
- 3:54But if I've got a couple seconds in between her, if I've had a
- 3:56session where it's been very emotional with a client, I have
- 3:59a message. Judge in my voice memos where I
- 4:03can listen to myself, talk to myself and give myself a pep
- 4:07talk. If you will a feedback,
- 4:10something to focus on instead of what I have been focusing on,
- 4:13and I can't begin to tell you the magic it creates, because it
- 4:16shifts you right away. Another piece of the puzzle is
- 4:20that your brain is wired to believe your voice to be true.
- 4:24So, when you're talking to yourself, whether it's good or
- 4:27bad, whether it's positive, or negative, your brain, Leaves
- 4:30you. So when you say, oh God, I'm so
- 4:32frustrated. I'm so stupid.
- 4:34Even if you just say this in your head, your brain believes
- 4:37that to be true. That's why it's so hard to shift
- 4:39out of things. And the Beautiful Thing is also
- 4:44believes it in reverse. So if you're able to record
- 4:47messages to yourself, when you are feeling good and you know
- 4:53you're in a great state and you talk to yourself, then all of a
- 4:56sudden you listen to that message and it changes
- 4:59everything. So I'll Give you an example.
- 5:01If you're a parent and you're you get frustrated with your
- 5:04kids and you know that you have certain hot-button issues like
- 5:09homework. That's always a gnome.
- 5:12Something in our house that triggers things.
- 5:15You can have a little message that you record to yourself and
- 5:18you can talk about that and say, like, let's say your name is
- 5:20Sally. You can say, hey, Sally, listen,
- 5:24homework is going to start in about 30 minutes, you know that
- 5:27this is going to be awesome if you stay And focused.
- 5:31So I want you to go in there, I want you to be super centered, I
- 5:34want you to be calm. I want you to have the snacks,
- 5:37ready. Pencil sharpened, sit down put
- 5:39on good music for the kids to listen to, and get everything in
- 5:42the way that they, you know, they can Thrive and you can
- 5:45Thrive. And remember, take the high
- 5:48road. Stay calm.
- 5:49No yelling give yourself this little, this little thing, and
- 5:53then play it beforehand. When you're talking to yourself,
- 5:56you actually, listen. I have them for all different
- 5:58things in my phone. I have them for like, He said in
- 6:00between sessions, I have them for things.
- 6:02If I'm irritated with my husband, I can go and listen to
- 6:05one that I have talking to me about all the things.
- 6:08I love about him and instantaneously it reminds me
- 6:13and puts me in a state of letting go of whatever stupid
- 6:16thing happened, that we might be arguing about, and then I can
- 6:19easily go right back to feeling great.
- 6:22So today, I would like you to make some recordings for
- 6:26yourself that you can listen to. And that morning recording is I
- 6:30believe the most important of all of them.
- 6:32So when you get up, you can talk to yourself.
- 6:34And say, I'm out here starting my day, strong, and I'm focused
- 6:40because I listened to my morning recording.
- 6:42That told me when I wake up, hey, Kim, you just got out of
- 6:45bed. It's time to get into that.
- 6:47Right State of Mind. Remember you're focused on
- 6:49effortless abundance, you're focused on being the best
- 6:52person. You can be and kindness,
- 6:54happiness, love and joy. That's one of mine by the way,
- 6:57in case you're interested, so I can listen.
- 7:00Into that and I can listen to it over and over and over again.
- 7:03If I need to you can make them as short as you want.
- 7:05As long as you want, just make them, make them, go do it today.
- 7:09Make yourself one, just try one and see how it works.
- 7:12All right guys, I hope you have a great day and I will see you
- 7:14tomorrow. Bye.
