- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, you know, I wanted to talk to you all
- 0:02Speaker 1: in my close remarks today about something that I've had
- 0:06Speaker 1: to learn to rely on more of late.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I wish I had learned this a lot earlier in
- 0:12Speaker 2: my life. It would have helped me such a great deal.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I've had to learn to trust in God's timing and
- 0:25Speaker 2: I've had to learn to trust in God's will. Now
- 0:31Speaker 2: these are tough lessons to learn.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I know why I didn't learn these lessons earlier because
- 0:39Speaker 1: I thought that it was in my best interest to
- 0:44Speaker 1: work as hard as I could.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Make choices and decisions.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And go about the process of trying to make those
- 0:54Speaker 1: choices and decisions work. And I did that, and a
- 0:59Speaker 1: lot of people do that. And you know, we set
- 1:01Speaker 1: our goals and where dreams up on our vision boards,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and we get locked in on that, and that's what
- 1:06Speaker 1: we started shooting for. What I've learned as I've gotten
- 1:10Speaker 1: older is Steve Harvey, It's absolutely fine to have aspirations, dreams,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and visions and goals. But in your request of requiring
- 1:24Speaker 1: or attaining all of these things, you should also add
- 1:30Speaker 1: in the request that God let your will be done
- 1:35Speaker 1: and give me the strength and wisdom to trust in
- 1:38Speaker 1: your timing.
- 1:40Speaker 2: But I didn't do that.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I thought that it was in my best interest to
- 1:45Speaker 1: set my goals and aspirations and then just start working
- 1:48Speaker 1: towards them as hard as I could. Some of those
- 1:52Speaker 1: things happened because some of those things were in His will.
- 1:57Speaker 1: But when a lot of things didn't happen me, I
- 2:01Speaker 1: didn't understand that it just was in God's will for me.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And so what I've had to.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Learn as I've gotten older is when I set up
- 2:10Speaker 1: my vision board, when I set up my dream board
- 2:13Speaker 1: like I have on my phone today, and I have
- 2:15Speaker 1: in my note section of everything I want I'm asking
- 2:18Speaker 1: of God on page one, it says trust in his
- 2:24Speaker 1: timing and trust in his will. Because the old I've gotten,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I've discovered something that everything that I wanted and then
- 2:35Speaker 1: I wanted it to work out a say, a certain way,
- 2:38Speaker 1: what God has given me didn't work out that way,
- 2:44Speaker 1: and what He gave me was far greater than what
- 2:48Speaker 1: I asked. I can tell you it has worked that
- 2:52Speaker 1: way every single time. Why I did not learn this
- 2:57Speaker 1: when I was younger, man, it befuddles me. But that's
- 3:00Speaker 1: what age is, though, that's what experience is. They say,
- 3:05Speaker 1: experiences is priceless. It's a shame. You have to pay
- 3:08Speaker 1: for it with your youth. And it cost me my
- 3:12Speaker 1: youth to learn that God's will and God's timing is
- 3:18Speaker 1: far superior than mine. So now, Steve, how do you
- 3:22Speaker 1: fix that? How do you fix that? Well, it's a
- 3:26Speaker 1: couple of things I had to get in.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Line with.
- 3:30Speaker 1: First of all, the will of God, our Father, who
- 3:34Speaker 1: art in heaven. How will be thy name, Thy Kingdom Come?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
- 3:43Speaker 1: That's important when you pray to ask God that his
- 3:47Speaker 1: will be done in your life. I mean, who would
- 3:51Speaker 1: know better how to direct your life than the person
- 3:54Speaker 1: who gave you life, your creator. So that was the
- 3:57Speaker 1: first thing I had to start implementing in my prayer,
- 4:00Speaker 1: to let your will be done on earth as it
- 4:05Speaker 1: is in heaven. And then the Lord's prayer gets real specific.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Give us this day our daily bread. You know what
- 4:13Speaker 1: that is?
- 4:14Speaker 2: You're just asking for You need enough to get through today.
- 4:18Speaker 1: See, tomorrow ain't promised and you have no control over tomorrow.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Do you know that today is enough?
- 4:25Speaker 1: Do you know that if you take care of yourself today,
- 4:28Speaker 1: today got plenty for you? To do. Today is a monster, man,
- 4:33Speaker 1: Today is a truckload. This is all we were built for.
- 4:37Speaker 1: We were built for today. Now, once again, that's not
- 4:40Speaker 1: to mean you don't have aspirations, goals and hopes for tomorrow.
- 4:44Speaker 2: That's not what it says.
- 4:45Speaker 1: The Bible says, a man without a dream or visions
- 4:47Speaker 1: you'll perish. That ain't what he's saying. But you got
- 4:51Speaker 1: to get your focus on today. Give us this day
- 4:54Speaker 1: our daily bread, because that's enough. Tomorrow will take care
- 4:58Speaker 1: of itself. And like that quote I was reading to
- 5:01Speaker 1: you all the other day that I got, and I'm
- 5:03Speaker 1: gonna grab it right quick, but it really really helped
- 5:06Speaker 1: me man in my focus point of learning how to
- 5:09Speaker 1: be you know, because it's just important that I learned
- 5:13Speaker 1: this lesson right here.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Fear does not stop death, it stops life.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes
- 5:23Speaker 1: away today's peace. Come on, man, if you focus on today,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you'll have a much more peaceful life. Worrying about tomorrow
- 5:34Speaker 1: it does nothing for you. That's God's will, that's God's timing. Tomorrow,
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yours is today. Focus on today, man, trusting God's timing.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Trusting God's will because it's better than the plan you got.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I thank God that I started become more trusting in
- 5:50Speaker 1: His timing and his will, and stop tripping all the
- 5:53Speaker 1: time on what Steve Harvey want?
- 5:55Speaker 2: What do God want for you? Man?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Have you ever asked that that's way better than what
- 5:59Speaker 1: you could ever imagine?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Those are my closing remarks.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Don't forget to pray, don't forget to pray, don't be
- 6:06Speaker 1: ashamed to pray, and don't ever.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Be too proud to pray.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Prat change, prat change.
